- 0:57SPEAKER_00: Hello everyone, and welcome back to the Live Well Podcast.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: I am so excited because today we are diving into how I got the best skin of my life, tools, trips, tricks, best practices, things I've been doing.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Now, I will say, I used to suffer for years with chronic cystic acne and throwing to like the emotional and the trauma work.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: My skin cleared up, but like this is gonna focus more on like glowing and texture rather than like acne.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: So if you've got like acne or rashes or like actual issues with your skin, go and listen to my other episodes on the skin slash do the emotional work because your skin is tied to your self-love.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: So if you need help with that, definitely jump in to those episodes and start to digest that information.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: So this is like alright, live, like I've got clear skin, I'm not breaking out anymore, I don't have eczema, I don't have that stuff, but like I want to just enhance it, I want to take it to the next level, right?
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: So that's what we're gonna be breaking down today.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna go through all the things that I've learned in the past few months because like these things I've been doing, let me tell you, they've been making a huge difference.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: They've been making a huge, huge difference just in the texture, the way I wake up, the glowing, the the all of that.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: So the number one thing is lymphatic drainage.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: I have loved lymphatic drainage for a while, but I haven't been as diligent as I have been about it the way I have been the last like maybe like two, three months, especially when it comes to skin and facial.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: So that's like ice rolling every day.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: And I think the misconception people do, when I see people ice roll, they're ice rolling back and forth, which kind of defeats the purpose.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: You want to roll up and out, so in the directions that you actually want things to depuff.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: When you like trowel it on, like you're like you would paint a wall, and that's how you're rolling your face, you're rolling it up and then you're pushing it back down, and like that defeats the purpose.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Like you want to lift it up a bit, roll, lift it up a bit, roll, lift it up a bit, roll.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: Facial rolling.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Okay, and I'll do that pretty much every single day.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: Whether I do it ice rolling or just like a normal roller.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Normally it's an ice roller, but if I'm ready in my bathroom, sometimes I just use a normal like jade roller to roll my face.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: But you want to go up and out and you want to be diligent.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Again, this is consistency, this is a consistency game.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Roll your face every single day four months, and you will notice a difference.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: You also want to do it for long enough.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: So make sure you're giving it a good amount of time, you're not just doing it for like 30 seconds or a few seconds.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: You want to give it like a good five minutes of rolling at least to actually see the benefit.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: And again, it's better for you to do a little bit every single day than to only do it on like Sundays and do it for 20 minutes because it's that consistency of like every single day, so that you're regularly moving the lymph daily versus waiting to the end of the week and like trying to move all the lymph at the end of the week, hoping that it's gonna last all week, right?
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: So it's not gonna take long, but that is like a number one thing, like lymphatic drainage for your face is going to be major in terms of moving the toxins, getting new skin cells to the surface, moving the flow, like like your lymph system is how you get rid of toxins, how you cipher through things.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: So if that's not working optimally and you feel like that's sluggish, that's going to be like a big thing.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: Now, also speaking of lymphatic drainage, one of the things that has really been making me not be puffy and to wake up like more less puffy, honestly.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: Electrolytes.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: Now you guys know I'm a big fan of element, have it every single day, but I've been upping my electrolytes because I was like, I think I've been feeling like I need more electrolytes.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: I was like, something a nudge was telling me into it.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: She was like, we need more.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: I now have at like closer to three packets a day.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: Now keep in mind I burn through a lot of energy, I do a lot of energy work.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: You might only need two, but you definitely need at least one.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: And there's a full teaspoon, there's like a thousand milligrams of sodium in it.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: So think about if you're not using element, you just want to use salt at home.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: You need a thousand milligrams at least.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: That's just like how you wake up in the morning.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: Oh, my door closed, let alone throughout the day.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: So I have one pack in the morning, full thousand milligrams of that, and then another full packet somewhere out throughout the day, if not like two full packets, depending on how much energy work I'm doing.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: But like lots and lots of electrolytes, big difference in my face, especially if you're someone who wakes up puffy.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: I used to always wake up with what I call morning face, kind of a little puffy.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: That does not happen since I've been upping my electrolyte to like basically three packets a day.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: And doing ice rolling every single day for consistency.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: Gotta keep it going.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: It is that consistency game that's gonna be key in all of this.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: The next thing, I'm really just gonna fire through all the big things I've been doing that like change the game for me.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: Honey tapping.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: I love this because you can do honey tapping.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: I have products that I love, and I'm gonna go into some of them that I've been using.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: I've also gone through them in the Products I Love podcast episode, so go have a listen to that if you want to hear like a full rundown of all my skincare products because I do think they make a difference.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna highlight probably one or two that I think make a whole host of difference.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: But honey tapping, I love because everyone can do it.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: You just need honey.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: Now you need raw honey, but you can get raw honey for like a few dollars, like under ten dollars.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: You can get a small jar, and just don't use like the billy bee honey, don't use like the fake honey, use raw honey.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: So, honey tapping is exactly what it sounds like.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: You literally take honey, you don't even need the manuka, like just raw on pasteurized honey.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: You put it on your face.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: I feel like I need to be real about this because you're not gonna be able to see visually.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: You put the honey all over your face, kind of like you would think about putting it on like a face mask, like that's what you're gonna be doing, putting on all the honey in your face, and then you're gonna tap it.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Now you're not seeing the visual, but you're literally gonna look like you would tap your face with your fingers, like you would blot something in, like tap, I don't know, makeup in.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: You would tap the honey, and you're going to do this.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, this is like a star, definitely one of the game changers.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: I have to credit Cassandra at Calm Down Club.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: I went to her for lymphatic drainage facial.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: She taught me this, and it was, I've been doing it at least twice, if not three times a week ever since.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: Game changer for your skin.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: So you put the honey on and you tap.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: But again, you gotta keep it, it's not enough to put the honey there and leave it there.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: The keys in the tapping.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: You wanna tap your face everywhere, and you want to do this for like a solid 10 minutes.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: You want to do this around your mouth and your cheeks and your nose and your forehead.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: Not only does this help with like lymphatic drainage, but this helps the texture and it helps to pull up blackheads naturally.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, your skin is like glowing, it's exfoliating, it's drained, it's gotten gunk out.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: It is, I cannot believe I haven't been doing this my whole life.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: If you get one thing from this episode, the honey tapping.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: It's key.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: You put a layer on, tap for 10 minutes, and then you can just wash it off.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: Like it's nice also because the sugars like uh in the honey, if it's like more crystallized, kind of exfoliates a bit, but it still exfoliates if it's like runny honey.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: So either way, it's gonna work, and it is a game changer.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: Now, after that is also a good time if you can do some sort of clay mask to do one.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: But again, I don't do a clay mask after every single time, but I do do honey two to three times a week, and it is a game changer.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: I should probably make it real, but you literally just tap your face.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: But that is the game changer versus just leaving it on.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: I think I should probably keep counting how many times I say game changer in this episode, but we're getting through it because I want to get you the quick and dirty honey tapping, get some honey, put it on your face, tap away, watch some Netflix for a bit, then wash it off, you know, whatever it is, just 10 minutes of honey tapping two to three times per week.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: The next big hack tip that has changed my skin is the two-minute rule.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: So, we all know the two-minute rule for brushing.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: Brush your teeth for two minutes.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: You should be washing your face for two minutes.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: Now, I learned this when I got a facial, and I was like, what?
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: What do you mean two minutes?
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: She's like, No, like you should be washing your face for two minutes.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: I'm like, like 120 seconds, and when you think about it, like how long you wash your face for, I definitely was not washing it for two minutes.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: Maybe 20 seconds, maybe if that.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: So, the key washing your face for solid two minutes, 120 seconds, you want to be washing your face.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: So I wash it once to take the makeup off.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: Maybe that takes like 10 seconds, and then the other 110 seconds or 100 seconds, I'm actually washing like washing the face.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: Now, when you do this, this is a second opportunity for lymphatic drainage.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: So when I wash it, and you can just Google lymphatic drainage face map and you'll see what direction to go, but essentially it's up and out.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: You never want to be going like towards the center of your face, you always want to be going up and away from your face.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: But you are scrubbing, so you're starting at your chin and you're slowly going all the way up into your cheeks and into your nose and then around your eye orbits and into your forehead for two minutes.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: Changed the game.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: Now I will say I also switched up in the last few months my cleanser that I've been using, and I'm in love.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: It's the ossea, ossea, I'm not sure how you say it which one it is, but it's O-S-E-A.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: It's their ocean cleanser.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: It is divine, it is so good.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: It cleanses your skin without stripping it.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: So if you're thinking, Liv, if I wash my face for two minutes, it's gonna strip my face.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: That tells me you need a new cleanser.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: That tells me the cleanser you're using is too aggressive and you should not be using it.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: It should not strip your face.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: So, get the Aussie one, love it.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: Two minutes.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: Two minutes of facial washing once a day.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: You don't have to wash it every two minutes, morning and night.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: Obviously, night's more important because a lot of us are wearing more makeup, we're getting more stuff on our skin.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: Still wash it in the morning once, but I would say do the two-minute one kind of at night.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: If you can't do it at night, I'm gonna do it in the morning.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: But she did say like at night's obviously better because you've been wearing makeup or sweat or like dirt from going around the world.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: Two-minute rule.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: Game changer, right?
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: Game changer.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: So the last kind of like tip, like I said, I'm gonna be too quick and dirty.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: There's only four things on this list, but it's major.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: Less acids.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: So I think if anyone has struggled with acne in the past, you're very much into like acids, exfoliation, peel pads, this and that.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: And there was a time where I feel like I was overdoing it, and I was doing it so much that it almost like it didn't give my skin a chance to repair, and then it was almost like not over drying because it my skin didn't feel dry, but it was like the surface of my skin was dry, but like the actual texture wasn't dry.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: It's hard to explain, but like she explained it to my facial.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: It's like the outer like layer is dry, like the superficial dermis, but like the deep dermis wasn't dry.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: Anyways, less acids.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: You should only be using like acid like one, maybe two times per week in terms of appeal bag.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: Like doing them every day or even other every other day can be very aggressive to your skin, and even though you think it's exfoliating, it's actually doing more harm than good.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: So I'd be careful in terms of like what acids you are using, and even try doing it like one less time per week, and that's gonna make a huge difference in your skin.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: So, these are the top tips that I've been doing to get the best skin in my life.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: I'm telling you, they've made a world of difference.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: Obviously, if you have not done the emotional work behind healing your skin and you're still suffering with like breakouts and hormonal stuff, you're gonna need to clear that up first.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: This is all what I did in terms of like texture and puffiness after I kind of like dissolved the cystic acne and all that.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: So if you have issues with like your skin, God's activation is kind of the container for you that you're gonna want to kind of grab into because that's all to do with self-love.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: Self-love shows up in your skin.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: If you got skin issues, you got self-love issues, and then incorporate all these things because they're gonna bet you fit you no matter what, but obviously they're gonna work better if the underlying emotional and energetic work is taken care of as well.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: So I hope you enjoyed this episode.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: Like I said, quick and dirty to the point.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: Try the honey tapping.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: Let me know how much has changed your life.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: Be diligent, be consistent.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: Honey tapping two to three times per week, facial washing every day for two minutes, lymphatic drainage every single day.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: A little bit.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: At least do some.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: Beautiful.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: Like I said, tag me also if you're like doing honey tapping on Instagram.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: Tag me so I can see you, and I'd love to see it.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: Because like I love I love little tips like this with like honey, and I'm like, I've had honey lying around in my cabinet.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: Why have I not been doing this the whole time?
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: So with that being said, I hope you guys enjoyed, and I will see you in the next episode.
