- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Welcome back to another episode of the Hawkerel Energy Podcast.
- 0:17Speaker 2: I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is your weekly reminder
- 0:20Speaker 2: that it's a new day, a new week, a new mindset,
- 0:23Speaker 2: and another day for you to become the Hawkrel Energy
- 0:25Speaker 2: you want to attract.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Hello you guys.
- 0:29Speaker 2: It has been a very long time since I've jumped
- 0:32Speaker 2: back onto the podcast and I'm very excited to be
- 0:35Speaker 2: back and to be fully back for the next few weeks.
- 0:39Speaker 2: I don't honestly travel until the end of next month,
- 0:42Speaker 2: which would be March, so we are very much in
- 0:46Speaker 2: the routine that we want to be in, just being home,
- 0:50Speaker 2: getting back into the swing of things, and it's just
- 0:52Speaker 2: been nice to be home. So we are officially in February,
- 0:55Speaker 2: which is honestly one of my favorite months. It's a
- 0:58Speaker 2: short month, it's love month. January was a very long month,
- 1:03Speaker 2: I will say, but I do think for me personally,
- 1:05Speaker 2: because I was traveling so much, it went by so fast.
- 1:08Speaker 1: But I'm very happy about that because I feel like every.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Other year, I always find January is the hardest month
- 1:14Speaker 2: for me, so just like mentally, and I think, yeah,
- 1:17Speaker 2: being able to have the opportunities of traveling. It was
- 1:22Speaker 2: truly a blessing and I'm so happy that's how I
- 1:25Speaker 2: started my twenty twenty five off. So it was a
- 1:29Speaker 2: great few trips and I'm very grateful to have had
- 1:33Speaker 2: the opportunity of going to Poudicana and enjoying the sunshine,
- 1:37Speaker 2: enjoying the beach. I have to be honest, I truly
- 1:40Speaker 2: felt like it was so healing in a way where
- 1:43Speaker 2: just being by the water and feeling the sun on
- 1:45Speaker 2: your skin is something I cannot describe. It truly is
- 1:49Speaker 2: so mentally healing. I feel like I've came back from
- 1:52Speaker 2: the trip and I just feel so much more motivated,
- 1:55Speaker 2: so inspired, Like I feel confident, I have a tan,
- 1:59Speaker 2: I got the vitamin D that I needed, and now
- 2:01Speaker 2: I'm just getting back into the swing of things and
- 2:03Speaker 2: I feel good, like I feel good coming back from
- 2:05Speaker 2: a trip, which I feel like is a very unpopular opinion,
- 2:08Speaker 2: because I feel like a lot of people kind of
- 2:11Speaker 2: dread being home after a tropical trip and like missing
- 2:14Speaker 2: the sun and being in the cold weather obviously is
- 2:17Speaker 2: never the greatest when you come back from a tropical
- 2:19Speaker 2: trip like that, But I don't know, I feel like
- 2:21Speaker 2: it feels different I feel good coming home because I
- 2:25Speaker 2: personally find being in the comfort of my own home
- 2:28Speaker 2: is truly the best feeling and just being in my
- 2:30Speaker 2: comfort space. So I don't know, I feel like it
- 2:33Speaker 2: hits different when you're coming back to a routine.
- 2:36Speaker 1: And coming back to just getting back into the swing
- 2:39Speaker 1: of things.
- 2:39Speaker 2: There's just something about my home, my routine, the people
- 2:42Speaker 2: that I love, just something about home that just makes
- 2:46Speaker 2: me so happy. And one thing I always get asked,
- 2:48Speaker 2: actually is will I ever leave Ottawa? Because Ottawa is great?
- 2:52Speaker 2: But not if that makes sense, Like, of course, I
- 2:55Speaker 2: would rather live maybe in a bigger city with more
- 2:58Speaker 2: like hustle and bustle when it comes to my job.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Like obviously there's a lot of Toronto influencers, a lot
- 3:03Speaker 2: of Montreal influencers as well as Vancouver. They're just bigger
- 3:06Speaker 2: cities and I feel like there's always more like influencer
- 3:08Speaker 2: things happening in those cities, and Ottawa's like smallish, right, It's.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Not small, because there's about two million people here.
- 3:15Speaker 2: But the point I'm trying to get across is that
- 3:17Speaker 2: there's something about Ottawa that just feels like home. And
- 3:20Speaker 2: I'm so grateful that I'm able to travel as much
- 3:22Speaker 2: as I do with my job that no matter what
- 3:24Speaker 2: I leave for two weeks, i leave for a week,
- 3:26Speaker 2: I come back and I'm home and I feel good
- 3:29Speaker 2: being home. So I don't think I'll ever leave Ottawa,
- 3:31Speaker 2: to be honest, unless my job, you know, forces me
- 3:34Speaker 2: to do so, or Zach's job forces us to do so.
- 3:37Speaker 1: But I like being here.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I like being near my friends, I like being near
- 3:40Speaker 2: my family, and there's just some sense of home coming back.
- 3:45Speaker 2: And I hope to continue traveling a lot, because I
- 3:47Speaker 2: do truly love it, and I love like sharing my
- 3:50Speaker 2: recommendations with you guys while traveling, whether it's resorts, airbnbs,
- 3:54Speaker 2: or just experiences that I get to have in different countries.
- 3:58Speaker 2: And also just meeting a lot of you in different
- 4:00Speaker 2: parts of the world is also so amazing. So I
- 4:03Speaker 2: feel like I've definitely enjoyed the sun, but I'm actually
- 4:07Speaker 2: really happy to be back. And of course there's still
- 4:09Speaker 2: a lot of snow and it's still freezing cold here,
- 4:11Speaker 2: but despite that, I'm very very happy to be back
- 4:14Speaker 2: into the swing of things. I will do a quick
- 4:16Speaker 2: little recap of my trip, but before I get into that,
- 4:18Speaker 2: I really want to talk about Love month. Because of
- 4:20Speaker 2: course it's Valentine'sday this week, and it's actually my first
- 4:25Speaker 2: Valentines with Zach married, which is so crazy husband and wife.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I mean, obviously it doesn't feel any different, it's literally
- 4:32Speaker 2: the same, but just to say that it's our first
- 4:34Speaker 2: one married just feel special.
- 4:36Speaker 1: And then of course it's Gallantines.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Last year with my girlfriends, we did a little Gallantines party,
- 4:41Speaker 2: which was very fun. This year, we didn't have the
- 4:44Speaker 2: opportunity to do so because I would have hosted something,
- 4:47Speaker 2: but with my travels, it kind of just came up
- 4:50Speaker 2: and I wasn't able to fully commit to hosting something
- 4:54Speaker 2: this weekend. And then one of my girlfriends actually got
- 4:57Speaker 2: married last weekend, so I feel like nobody really wanted
- 4:59Speaker 2: to host something, which is very valid with everyone traveling
- 5:03Speaker 2: these past few weeks. So definitely, maybe next year, I'd
- 5:07Speaker 2: love to host something, and yeah, if I have the
- 5:10Speaker 2: time to do so, I would love to do that.
- 5:13Speaker 2: But yeah, I do love hosting and I do want
- 5:15Speaker 2: to continue hosting, but just this year with Galentines, it
- 5:18Speaker 2: didn't end up working out. But for you girlies that
- 5:21Speaker 2: are looking to have a fun little weekend this weekend,
- 5:23Speaker 2: if you do not have a boyfriend or fiance or husband,
- 5:28Speaker 2: I highly recommend doing something fun with your girlfriends, and
- 5:30Speaker 2: it could be as simple as just hosting a little
- 5:33Speaker 2: pizza night at your place. One thing that Zach and
- 5:35Speaker 2: I actually did for a Valentine's inspired content, we had
- 5:40Speaker 2: a brand that we had to film with, which was
- 5:42Speaker 2: our den, and we did a little heart shaped pizza
- 5:45Speaker 2: night which was so fun. So if you haven't done that,
- 5:48Speaker 2: I highly recommend doing it, just you know, making the
- 5:51Speaker 2: pizza homemade and it's just a fun little recipe to
- 5:54Speaker 2: do with your partner. It could be done with you know,
- 5:57Speaker 2: if you do have a boyfriend or a husband or
- 5:59Speaker 2: a fiance, you could do that with them. If you
- 6:00Speaker 2: have no Valentine's plans and you can always have fun
- 6:04Speaker 2: date nights at home.
- 6:04Speaker 1: You don't always have to go out.
- 6:06Speaker 2: This year, Zach and I are going out. Last year,
- 6:08Speaker 2: we didn't last year. I think Valentine's Day was on
- 6:11Speaker 2: a Thursday or a Wednesday, I can't remember, and we
- 6:15Speaker 2: ended up having a steak dinner at home with a
- 6:17Speaker 2: bottle of wine and watched our favorite movie Like. It
- 6:20Speaker 2: was very chill and I very much enjoyed that this
- 6:23Speaker 2: year we're actually going out since Valentine's Day's on a Friday.
- 6:26Speaker 2: And one thing about Zach and I is that we
- 6:28Speaker 2: never go out for dinner, like never, and it's not
- 6:31Speaker 2: by choice. I think it's just we would rather save
- 6:34Speaker 2: our money and put it towards other things like travel
- 6:38Speaker 2: or things for our home or for our future. So
- 6:41Speaker 2: we honestly go out maybe once every two months if
- 6:44Speaker 2: we're lucky. Maybe it's different in the summer. I would say, no,
- 6:47Speaker 2: actually it's not. I wouldn't say we go out like
- 6:50Speaker 2: that often. Maybe once a month in the summer, just
- 6:52Speaker 2: because it's a bit nicer oute and you know, kind
- 6:55Speaker 2: of forces us out of the house to go get
- 6:57Speaker 2: drinks or go get you know, dinner together. But I
- 7:01Speaker 2: would say like most of the time, we go maybe
- 7:04Speaker 2: once every two months, if we're lucky, maybe once every
- 7:06Speaker 2: three months. The last time we went out for dinner
- 7:10Speaker 2: was with my parents during the holiday break, so in December,
- 7:13Speaker 2: so we're in February, so it kind of makes sense
- 7:15Speaker 2: that it's been two months. So yeah, I don't know,
- 7:18Speaker 2: we just don't see the point in spending, Like realistically,
- 7:21Speaker 2: in this economy, you're spending at least one hundred and
- 7:24Speaker 2: fifty dollars if not more for dinner, and yeah, we'd
- 7:27Speaker 2: just rather save that for date nights in another country
- 7:30Speaker 2: and use it towards travel.
- 7:32Speaker 1: So there's a tip for saving money. Don't go out
- 7:34Speaker 1: as much.
- 7:35Speaker 2: But obviously it helps a living together as well, because
- 7:38Speaker 2: we just have date.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Nights here and we cook dinner here and I actually
- 7:41Speaker 1: enjoy doing that.
- 7:43Speaker 2: So just like cooking recipes together, you know, playing a
- 7:46Speaker 2: game together, or binge watching your favorite movie or TV show,
- 7:50Speaker 2: just doing those little date nights with your partners always fun.
- 7:53Speaker 2: You can also do hobbies or just things like painting together,
- 7:58Speaker 2: or like making something together, like during Christmas, we usually
- 8:01Speaker 2: like do gingerbread houses, or you know, we'll make a
- 8:04Speaker 2: dessert together, like we were doing hot chocolates for the
- 8:07Speaker 2: holiday season. So just like finding things on Pinterest is
- 8:10Speaker 2: truly the best for date night ideas, and I always
- 8:13Speaker 2: just look on Pinterest for cute ideas. I would have
- 8:15Speaker 2: loved to paint a Valentine's Day mug, but I feel
- 8:18Speaker 2: like it's kind of last minute. Maybe it's not actually
- 8:21Speaker 2: because it's technically Love month, so I could probably still
- 8:24Speaker 2: do it. But anyways, I just love doing little arts
- 8:26Speaker 2: and crafts things like that.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Even though I'm not good at it, I do enjoy
- 8:31Speaker 1: the fun.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Aspect of doing arts and crafts. So there's a little
- 8:34Speaker 2: bit of inspiration for Love Month. If you're looking to
- 8:38Speaker 2: just like have a date night with your partner or
- 8:41Speaker 2: with your girlfriends, doing a pizza night, finding things on
- 8:44Speaker 2: Pinterest just to.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Inspire you for it Love Month.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Definitely do something that brings you joy, because I do
- 8:50Speaker 2: love Valentine's Day and I love the month of February
- 8:53Speaker 2: because I think about love, I think about pink, I
- 8:55Speaker 2: think about red. I have my house actually kind of
- 8:58Speaker 2: decorated for the month. I have a lot of pink
- 9:01Speaker 2: hints around the home. And I was actually curious to
- 9:03Speaker 2: see if Zach notice that, because I purposely did that,
- 9:06Speaker 2: but I didn't think he would notice. And when I
- 9:08Speaker 2: told him that, oh, like, have you not noticed that
- 9:10Speaker 2: I've put a lot of pink in the house for
- 9:12Speaker 2: the month of February. And He's like, yeah, looks nice
- 9:15Speaker 2: and I'm like, oh amazing. He's like, but like, We're
- 9:17Speaker 2: not going to keep it like that forever, right, I'm like, no,
- 9:20Speaker 2: it's just for the month. But I feel like boys
- 9:22Speaker 2: are like anti pink sometimes and anyways, I put like
- 9:25Speaker 2: my pink candle out, I have like pink matches, pink
- 9:28Speaker 2: coffee table books. Just yeah, really trying to make the
- 9:31Speaker 2: house feel very much Love month by just adding tones
- 9:35Speaker 2: of pink throughout the house. But yeah, it's one of
- 9:38Speaker 2: my favorite months and I'm very excited to be in it.
- 9:40Speaker 2: I'm going to do a quick little trip recap. I'm
- 9:43Speaker 2: not going to talk about it too much, just because
- 9:44Speaker 2: I did do a lot of highlights on my Instagram
- 9:47Speaker 2: and then I also just posted a YouTube video of
- 9:49Speaker 2: the whole trip. But my trip was amazing. As I said,
- 9:52Speaker 2: I felt like it was very healing, just being in
- 9:55Speaker 2: the sun and getting away from the snow. I felt
- 9:57Speaker 2: like I needed a little beach trip like that, so
- 9:59Speaker 2: it it was very nice just to relax enjoy the
- 10:04Speaker 2: nice weather. I finished a book, which I was so
- 10:07Speaker 2: proud of myself for doing so I was really focused
- 10:10Speaker 2: on finishing it and it was such a good book. Guys,
- 10:13Speaker 2: I read every summer after by. I think it's Curly
- 10:18Speaker 2: Fourtune Fortune. I can't remember.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I'm not looking at the book right now, so I
- 10:22Speaker 1: can't remember the author's name.
- 10:23Speaker 2: But she's actually Canadian and what I loved about it
- 10:26Speaker 2: is that it felt so close to home. The story
- 10:29Speaker 2: was based in Barry's Bay and it was about a
- 10:32Speaker 2: girl and a guy who had cottages beside each other,
- 10:36Speaker 2: and obviously they fall in love.
- 10:38Speaker 1: But it kind of goes back and forth.
- 10:40Speaker 2: With then verse now so then meaning them being like
- 10:44Speaker 2: I think fourteen and now being thirty. So it just
- 10:48Speaker 2: talks about the storyline between yeah, them as kids and
- 10:52Speaker 2: how they met and how they fell in love versus
- 10:54Speaker 2: what's happening currently. So I don't want to give it away,
- 10:57Speaker 2: but if you're based in Canada or if you just
- 11:00Speaker 2: want a good read, I highly recommend it. It was
- 11:03Speaker 2: such a good book I could not put it down.
- 11:06Speaker 2: And I think the reason why I loved it so
- 11:08Speaker 2: much is because it felt so close to home with
- 11:10Speaker 2: it being based in Berry's Bay, and some of the
- 11:13Speaker 2: characters actually lived in Ottawa, some lived in Toronto, so
- 11:16Speaker 2: it just felt like very relatable to my life. So anyways,
- 11:21Speaker 2: I highly recommend reading it. But that was like one
- 11:22Speaker 2: of my goals was I really wanted to finish a book,
- 11:25Speaker 2: and I think I mentioned in my twenty twenty five
- 11:27Speaker 2: goals that I would love to finish a book a month.
- 11:30Speaker 2: I actually just ordered the Mel Robbins book that I've
- 11:32Speaker 2: been really wanting to read. I've seen a lot of
- 11:34Speaker 2: people talk about how good it is, so I ordered that,
- 11:37Speaker 2: so I'm hoping I could read that for this month. Yeah,
- 11:41Speaker 2: my goal would be to read a book a month.
- 11:43Speaker 2: That would be the best goal. So January is done,
- 11:46Speaker 2: let's hope I can get this Mel Robbins book done
- 11:49Speaker 2: before at the end of the month. However, it is
- 11:50Speaker 2: a short month, so maybe we'll let it slide for March.
- 11:53Speaker 2: But anyways, Yeah, definitely enjoyed a lot of reading time,
- 11:57Speaker 2: a lot of relaxation. I was able to get a
- 12:00Speaker 2: few videos up as well edit my Whistler blog while
- 12:03Speaker 2: I was down there, and then yeah, just a lot
- 12:06Speaker 2: of content in regards to like my vacation outfits. You
- 12:10Speaker 2: know me, I'm very much obsessed with fashion, and I
- 12:14Speaker 2: tried to share everything that I wore on the trip,
- 12:16Speaker 2: including my jewelry, my accessories, all that. So if you're
- 12:19Speaker 2: about to go on vacation and you need some inspo,
- 12:22Speaker 2: whether it's just like places to shop for cute outfits
- 12:25Speaker 2: or outfit inspo in general, definitely check out my Instagram
- 12:28Speaker 2: and my YouTube. I've linked everything, including like the websites
- 12:33Speaker 2: I shopped at and all that, and I tried to
- 12:34Speaker 2: keep everything as affordable as possible, because yeah, I don't know,
- 12:39Speaker 2: I just feel like it doesn't make sense to spend
- 12:41Speaker 2: all this money on certain things when I'm realistically only.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Going to wear it once or twice.
- 12:45Speaker 2: And I want to make sure it's realistic for you guys,
- 12:47Speaker 2: because you know, it's not relatable if I'm buying like
- 12:51Speaker 2: a thousand dollar dresses and then you guys don't want
- 12:53Speaker 2: to spend that kind of money, which is so fair.
- 12:55Speaker 2: I don't even want to spend a thousand dollars on
- 12:56Speaker 2: a dress, But sometimes I get gifted things with work
- 12:59Speaker 2: and all that. But I try and just support brands
- 13:02Speaker 2: I think is worth supporting and just like high quality
- 13:08Speaker 2: things that I think is actually worth spending your money
- 13:09Speaker 2: as well, right, So I try to be as realistic.
- 13:12Speaker 1: As possible when it comes to that.
- 13:14Speaker 2: And my favorite brand that I was wearing basically the
- 13:17Speaker 2: entire vacation was Pepper Mayo, which is an Australian based company, which,
- 13:22Speaker 2: let's be honest, all Australian based companies are literally the
- 13:25Speaker 2: best when it comes to affordable and really fashionable items.
- 13:30Speaker 1: I love Australians like.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Fashion were in general, like workout sets, vacation outfits, everything.
- 13:37Speaker 2: I just love all of their websites so much. Like
- 13:40Speaker 2: Pepper Mayo is Australian. White Fox is CSB, which you
- 13:45Speaker 2: guys know I wear all the time. Crop Shot Boutique.
- 13:47Speaker 2: They're my favorite act wherever. I'm always wearing them like constantly.
- 13:51Speaker 2: It's just like one of my favorite brands, and the
- 13:53Speaker 2: quality is just ten out of ten. I think Oh
- 13:55Speaker 2: Poly is Australian based, but I could be wrong. I
- 13:57Speaker 2: think I might be wrong, that might be actually UK based.
- 14:00Speaker 2: But all in all, there's a lot of good, high
- 14:03Speaker 2: quality fashion brands based on Australia that I highly recommend
- 14:06Speaker 2: checking out. So I've tagged a lot of brands on
- 14:09Speaker 2: my Instagram, so if you need some inspiration, I would
- 14:12Speaker 2: definitely go check out my Instagram. But let's talk about
- 14:14Speaker 2: getting back into routine, because of course I was traveling
- 14:17Speaker 2: for basically two weeks, Like I was in Whistler for
- 14:20Speaker 2: five days, came home for not even three days, and
- 14:23Speaker 2: then flew out to Poudh Canna for the week. So
- 14:26Speaker 2: I wouldn't say I got back into routine when I
- 14:28Speaker 2: got home from Whistler. I think I went to like
- 14:31Speaker 2: one or two workout classes, but my suitcase was still packed.
- 14:35Speaker 2: I didn't really see the point of me unpacking because
- 14:37Speaker 2: I knew I was going to have to repack all
- 14:40Speaker 2: my toilet tries, all my makeup.
- 14:41Speaker 1: For the Poudicanna trip.
- 14:43Speaker 2: So it just didn't feel right to unpack and get
- 14:45Speaker 2: into the swing of things. So I kind of just
- 14:48Speaker 2: stayed all packed up and said, you know what, I'll
- 14:50Speaker 2: do this when I get home, and I kind of
- 14:53Speaker 2: just like jumped into more beauty appointments that I had
- 14:56Speaker 2: to do before the trip, order some things online for
- 14:59Speaker 2: the Pooda can a trip from Amazon, just like all
- 15:01Speaker 2: the last minute travel things.
- 15:03Speaker 1: That you typically do.
- 15:04Speaker 2: And yeah, so now I would say I'm officially home
- 15:08Speaker 2: and I'm officially getting back into the swing of things.
- 15:10Speaker 2: But I know some people struggle when it comes to
- 15:13Speaker 2: being off and getting back into routine and could always
- 15:17Speaker 2: use some tips on how to get back into the
- 15:20Speaker 2: swing of things when it comes to your workout routine
- 15:22Speaker 2: or just your overall routine in general. And I'm going
- 15:25Speaker 2: to share just five non negotiables that I do as
- 15:28Speaker 2: soon as I get home from a trip that I
- 15:29Speaker 2: swear by because I truly find it creates the motivation
- 15:33Speaker 2: for myself to get back into my daily routine. So,
- 15:36Speaker 2: first off is something that I think a lot of
- 15:38Speaker 2: people always push back, and that is unpacking as soon
- 15:41Speaker 2: as you get home.
- 15:43Speaker 1: I hate it. I don't love it. I hate it.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I think everybody hates it.
- 15:46Speaker 2: It's the worst part, you know, separating their clean clothes
- 15:49Speaker 2: with your dirty clothes, having to do the laundry all that.
- 15:52Speaker 1: But I will.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Say, if you do not do it asap, it will
- 15:55Speaker 2: not get done, Like, at least for me, If I
- 15:58Speaker 2: don't do it as soon as I get home, I'll
- 15:59Speaker 2: have it sit there for like five to seven business
- 16:01Speaker 2: days and then eventually I will just like dread and
- 16:05Speaker 2: overthink and just like I need to get this done,
- 16:07Speaker 2: Like this is the only way that's going to clear
- 16:08Speaker 2: my mind. You know. Having a clear space is also
- 16:11Speaker 2: something that's really crucial to me when I want to
- 16:13Speaker 2: get back into the swing of things. So I unpack
- 16:16Speaker 2: as soon as I get home. I also always like
- 16:18Speaker 2: wipe down my suitcase because there is so much bacteria
- 16:21Speaker 2: on your suitcase from being in the airport and just
- 16:24Speaker 2: obviously being under the plane and all that. As I age,
- 16:27Speaker 2: I feel like I realized how important it is for
- 16:30Speaker 2: your hygiene when it comes to just yeah, constantly traveling.
- 16:34Speaker 1: And maybe also.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Because I travel so much now with my job, I
- 16:37Speaker 2: think I've also realized like how important it is to
- 16:40Speaker 2: sanitize your hands and just constantly wipe your services down.
- 16:44Speaker 2: All that, and of course I think a lot of
- 16:46Speaker 2: people during COVID also made them realize, like how to
- 16:49Speaker 2: sanitize your area more consistently. But please do me a favor.
- 16:54Speaker 2: As soon as you get home, just get like a
- 16:55Speaker 2: sanitized wipe and just completely sanitize your entire suitcase.
- 16:59Speaker 1: That's something that I've been.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Doing, and it feels good bringing it into the home,
- 17:03Speaker 2: Whereas before I feel like I.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Just didn't care.
- 17:06Speaker 2: So it's good to make sure to take care of
- 17:09Speaker 2: your luggage and just sanitize it before bringing it into
- 17:13Speaker 2: your home. So I usually unpack I obviously, as I said,
- 17:16Speaker 2: just separate everything that's dirty and clean and start doing
- 17:19Speaker 2: the laundry. I would say for step two is my
- 17:23Speaker 2: everything shower. I feel like as soon as I get
- 17:25Speaker 2: off the plane, I just need to take a shower.
- 17:28Speaker 2: I need to clean off everything and kind of just
- 17:30Speaker 2: reset mentally by like washing my hair, washing my skin.
- 17:34Speaker 1: And one thing that I've been really trying.
- 17:36Speaker 2: To prioritize this year is just focusing on my body care.
- 17:40Speaker 2: And I think that's just something I've always neglected, but
- 17:43Speaker 2: specifically coming back from this trip, my skin has obviously
- 17:46Speaker 2: been super dry from being in obviously really hot climates
- 17:50Speaker 2: to now being in the colder temperatures. I obviously don't
- 17:53Speaker 2: want to peel either from my sunburn slash sun tan
- 17:56Speaker 2: that I have from my trip, so I've been using
- 17:59Speaker 2: some body low. The brand I use is Urserine, just
- 18:02Speaker 2: because it's a really thick moisturizer and I have very
- 18:05Speaker 2: dry skin, so it's just one that my skin doesn't
- 18:08Speaker 2: react to that I love.
- 18:09Speaker 1: I also love to use a body oil. My favorite
- 18:12Speaker 1: currently is the brand.
- 18:13Speaker 2: La Acutine, So I've been using those two products every
- 18:16Speaker 2: time I get out of the shower. And I always
- 18:18Speaker 2: take really hot showers, which I don't know if that's
- 18:21Speaker 2: a good thing or a bad thing, but I just
- 18:24Speaker 2: have an obsession with really hot showers. Zach thinks I'm
- 18:26Speaker 2: a psycho, to be honest, Like Zach's like this is
- 18:29Speaker 2: too hot, but his showers are freezing cold. So I'm like,
- 18:32Speaker 2: I don't know how you deal with that, but I'm
- 18:35Speaker 2: like a very hot shower kind of girl. So I
- 18:38Speaker 2: need to obviously take care of my skin after doing so,
- 18:41Speaker 2: and yeah, it works. My skin has been great. It's
- 18:44Speaker 2: not dry, it's doing.
- 18:46Speaker 1: The job, so that's obviously, that's all that matters.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Another thing that I find is crucial is just cleaning
- 18:52Speaker 2: your overall space. So when I came home, nobody lived.
- 18:55Speaker 1: In her house for the past week.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Zach was actually staying at his grandma's house because someone
- 19:00Speaker 2: had to watch Freddy. My parents' dogs were being watched
- 19:03Speaker 2: by a dog sitter. But I just felt like three
- 19:05Speaker 2: dogs was a lot for her to take care of
- 19:08Speaker 2: all three dogs while we were gone, So we asked
- 19:11Speaker 2: Zach's grandma because she loves watching Freddy, and I think
- 19:14Speaker 2: she kind of enjoys the company because she's retired and
- 19:17Speaker 2: just gives her like purpose to take care of something
- 19:20Speaker 2: and she doesn't have an animal, so she really really
- 19:22Speaker 2: enjoys having Freddy there. And then Zach just stays the
- 19:25Speaker 2: night there because she does live a little out of
- 19:27Speaker 2: the city. And yeah, so our house was not touched
- 19:30Speaker 2: for the entire week, so there was just a lot
- 19:32Speaker 2: of things that were like kind of out of sorts.
- 19:35Speaker 1: We always start the dishwasher before we leave.
- 19:37Speaker 2: So I had to end the dishwasher, and then there
- 19:39Speaker 2: was just stuff everywhere, Like I just had to like
- 19:41Speaker 2: reorganize the entire house, give it a bit of a vacuum,
- 19:45Speaker 2: tidy up, luff the couch, you guys know, the drill,
- 19:47Speaker 2: clean the bedding, all that, And it felt really really
- 19:50Speaker 2: good to do so because I'm that kind of person
- 19:52Speaker 2: where if my house isn't organized, I don't feel organized.
- 19:56Speaker 2: So it just feels really good.
- 19:58Speaker 1: To get that done.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Another thing I do that's a non negotiable is I
- 20:01Speaker 2: order my groceries online because let me tell you, if
- 20:04Speaker 2: you live in the cold weather, you just get this.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Or maybe if you're just that kind of person where
- 20:09Speaker 2: when you get back from a trip, it's sometimes really
- 20:12Speaker 2: hard to just push yourself.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Out of the house midday.
- 20:15Speaker 2: And I'm that kind of person where I leave the
- 20:17Speaker 2: house in the morning, I go to my workout class,
- 20:19Speaker 2: and I come straight home, like I don't want to
- 20:21Speaker 2: go anywhere after my workout class except home. I don't
- 20:23Speaker 2: want to have to go to the grocery store. I
- 20:25Speaker 2: just want to go to my workout and that's it.
- 20:27Speaker 2: So I usually just pay the fee, which is crazy.
- 20:30Speaker 2: It's like twenty dollars to get your groceries delivered, which
- 20:32Speaker 2: I know is absurd, and I never ever do it
- 20:35Speaker 2: except when I come home from a trip, because we
- 20:38Speaker 2: need groceries obviously, and especially if it's like mid week,
- 20:42Speaker 2: like I came back on a Wednesday, or was it
- 20:44Speaker 2: a Thursday?
- 20:44Speaker 1: Once you're a Thursday.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Last week, and I needed groceries obviously, And for me,
- 20:49Speaker 2: I just order them online because it's easy, it's convenient,
- 20:52Speaker 2: and it still allows me to make meals at home
- 20:56Speaker 2: instead of ordering, you know, takeout.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I just find ordering your groceries on line is obviously
- 21:00Speaker 2: very convenient.
- 21:01Speaker 1: It's very easy, and.
- 21:02Speaker 2: When you're that kind of person that wants to just
- 21:04Speaker 2: get back into the swing of things and just wants
- 21:06Speaker 2: it to be convenient, I find ordering.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Groceries is the easiest way to get back on track.
- 21:11Speaker 2: The last non negotiable is kind of figuring out your
- 21:13Speaker 2: schedule throughout the week. So this is why I talk
- 21:15Speaker 2: about using a planner is so important, because I personally
- 21:18Speaker 2: find scheduling out my days and my weeks are crucial
- 21:21Speaker 2: to being productive throughout the week and just feeling like
- 21:24Speaker 2: I know what needs to get done, and also just
- 21:27Speaker 2: getting myself back into a workout schedule and routine. So
- 21:31Speaker 2: for me, I go on my apps, I book all
- 21:34Speaker 2: my workout classes for the week as soon as I
- 21:36Speaker 2: get back from a trip. That way, I'm forcing myself
- 21:39Speaker 2: to get back into routine and back into the swing
- 21:42Speaker 2: of things. So it sounds kind of crazy to push yourself,
- 21:46Speaker 2: but it does work. And I find obviously when you
- 21:49Speaker 2: book a workout class and you do not want.
- 21:51Speaker 1: To pay that cancelation fee.
- 21:52Speaker 2: So it's just another tip for pushing yourself out the
- 21:55Speaker 2: door to get to that workout class is not having
- 21:57Speaker 2: to pay for that cancelation fee. But I want to
- 21:59Speaker 2: talk about but also just getting back into an early
- 22:02Speaker 2: morning routine, because I know a lot of people struggle
- 22:05Speaker 2: with waking up early or establishing an early morning routine,
- 22:09Speaker 2: and for me, I've always gone like back and forth,
- 22:12Speaker 2: and I feel like I've finally been consistent with waking
- 22:15Speaker 2: up at the same time every single morning. There's either
- 22:17Speaker 2: that kind of person that hasn't been able to get
- 22:19Speaker 2: back into a morning routine or the kind of person
- 22:22Speaker 2: like myself where you know you've kind of been out
- 22:24Speaker 2: of routine and you haven't been waking up early these
- 22:27Speaker 2: past few weeks and you want to get back into it.
- 22:30Speaker 2: And obviously, being on two back to back trips, I
- 22:32Speaker 2: was not in routine. I was not waking up early.
- 22:35Speaker 2: I was barely working out. I think I worked out
- 22:37Speaker 2: twice in Pudicana at their gym and that was it.
- 22:39Speaker 2: I did not work out at all during Whistler. So
- 22:41Speaker 2: for me, I didn't really have any type of structure
- 22:43Speaker 2: in my routine or I wasn't really waking up early.
- 22:46Speaker 2: So there's three things that I think are crucial when
- 22:49Speaker 2: it comes to waking up early that I've noticed just
- 22:51Speaker 2: being home for almost a week that has really helped
- 22:54Speaker 2: me get out of bed and become an early morning riser. Also,
- 22:58Speaker 2: if you can hear this humming noiseologize, it's my washer.
- 23:01Speaker 2: I had no idea that it was kind of loud,
- 23:04Speaker 2: So if you hear that in the background, I apologize.
- 23:06Speaker 2: The first one is finding workouts that you actually enjoy doing.
- 23:10Speaker 2: If you wake up in the morning and you are
- 23:12Speaker 2: dreading to go to that workout, class or go to
- 23:14Speaker 2: the gym or whatever the case may be, You're not
- 23:17Speaker 2: going to become an early morning riser. So for me personally,
- 23:21Speaker 2: if you're doing workouts that you actually enjoy, you're going
- 23:23Speaker 2: to want to actually get out of bed. I love
- 23:25Speaker 2: going to pilates, I love going to spinco. So for me,
- 23:28Speaker 2: it makes it easy to wake up early because I
- 23:31Speaker 2: enjoy doing those things. And I think also mentally, just
- 23:34Speaker 2: putting it in the mindset that you enjoy the feeling
- 23:37Speaker 2: of being done a workout class before you even start
- 23:40Speaker 2: your day. So I'm talking before I have breakfast, before
- 23:43Speaker 2: I have a coffee, everything, Like, I like just getting
- 23:47Speaker 2: it over with and getting it done with. And I
- 23:49Speaker 2: feel so motivated throughout my day to get stuff done
- 23:52Speaker 2: when I have my workout class done early in the morning.
- 23:55Speaker 2: So if you're hating your workouts right now, or you're
- 23:57Speaker 2: hating just waking up early to go to that workout class,
- 24:00Speaker 2: maybe it's because you actually don't like the workout.
- 24:03Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I think that's personally my opinion when it comes to that,
- 24:07Speaker 2: because I think if.
- 24:08Speaker 1: You don't like what you're doing, you're not gonna want
- 24:10Speaker 1: to get out of bed. But if you actually love going.
- 24:12Speaker 2: To your workout class, and you love the workouts that
- 24:15Speaker 2: you do, you're gonna want to push yourself and go
- 24:17Speaker 2: to it. Another thing that I find has been helping
- 24:18Speaker 2: me get out of bed is the Mel Robin's rule.
- 24:22Speaker 2: I feel like I've seen this all over TikTok recently,
- 24:24Speaker 2: and that's been the stop scrolling and just get out
- 24:27Speaker 2: of bed when you count down from five. So essentially
- 24:30Speaker 2: what Mel Robin said in a recent episode of I
- 24:33Speaker 2: Think her Morning Routine episode I can't remember, but she
- 24:36Speaker 2: talked about if you're the kind of person that has
- 24:38Speaker 2: a hard time getting out of bed, as soon as
- 24:40Speaker 2: that alarm goes off, sit in, countdown to five, and
- 24:44Speaker 2: then get.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Out of bed.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Just get out, don't even grab your phone, just open
- 24:48Speaker 2: your eyes, count down to five, and then get out
- 24:50Speaker 2: of bed. So for the past three mornings, I've actually
- 24:52Speaker 2: been doing that, and I find it's been really helpful.
- 24:55Speaker 1: It allows me to avoid scrolling on my phone in
- 24:58Speaker 1: the morning, and.
- 24:58Speaker 2: I actually get out of bed enough to do other
- 25:01Speaker 2: things around the house before leaving for my workout class,
- 25:04Speaker 2: like emptying the dishwasher or feeding Freddy or taking Freddie out,
- 25:08Speaker 2: like just those little things where sometimes you would feel
- 25:11Speaker 2: rushed to do so before leaving for a workout class.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Doing those little things as soon as you wake up,
- 25:16Speaker 2: before you start your day, it kind of feels almost
- 25:19Speaker 2: like an accomplishment because you push yourself out of bed
- 25:21Speaker 2: for those extra fifteen minutes instead of sitting on your
- 25:24Speaker 2: phone scrolling for fifteen minutes. So that's the Mel Robbins rule,
- 25:28Speaker 2: and I definitely find it's been helping. The last thing
- 25:30Speaker 2: I will say that I think is worth the investment
- 25:33Speaker 2: that has truly made it a game changer for waking
- 25:35Speaker 2: up early is the hatch alarm clock or the sunrise clock.
- 25:39Speaker 2: I think there's a dupe on Amazon that you could
- 25:41Speaker 2: find that's a bit more affordable, but I will say, guys,
- 25:44Speaker 2: it truly was worth the investment. I cannot wake up
- 25:48Speaker 2: to an iPhone alarm clock. It is not enjoyable to me.
- 25:51Speaker 1: I just find having.
- 25:52Speaker 2: That light that appears as sunlight almost where it goes
- 25:56Speaker 2: directly in your eyes. It forces me to wake up,
- 25:59Speaker 2: and I actually wake up so much easier, and the
- 26:01Speaker 2: alarm noise is very soothing, it's not annoying, and I
- 26:06Speaker 2: don't know, I just find it so much easier having
- 26:08Speaker 2: that alarm clock even thinking about like when I was
- 26:10Speaker 2: traveling this week, I tried to set an alarm on
- 26:13Speaker 2: my phone to go see the sunrise, and I did
- 26:15Speaker 2: manage to get out of bed twice to go see
- 26:17Speaker 2: the sunrise, because I think the sunrise was at like
- 26:19Speaker 2: six forty five, so I had to be up by
- 26:21Speaker 2: like six point twenty to go catch it.
- 26:24Speaker 1: But I had such a hard time.
- 26:25Speaker 2: And I do think it made a difference because the
- 26:28Speaker 2: light that projects on my hatch literally wakes me up immediately,
- 26:32Speaker 2: Like I'm not even over exaggerating, Whereas when I was
- 26:34Speaker 2: in the hotel room and all I had was my
- 26:36Speaker 2: iPhone alarm going off, I did not want to wake up,
- 26:39Speaker 2: and I tried to force myself to just like flick
- 26:42Speaker 2: on the light for the table lamp that was on
- 26:45Speaker 2: the nightstand beside our bed, but it just wasn't the same,
- 26:48Speaker 2: Like it just it didn't wake me up. So I
- 26:51Speaker 2: personally think it makes a difference using that I could
- 26:53Speaker 2: be wrong, but I do find it makes a difference
- 26:56Speaker 2: using the hatch alarm clock. And as I said, I
- 26:58Speaker 2: think there's a more affordable way that I've heard amazing
- 27:01Speaker 2: things about on Amazon.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I will try and link.
- 27:03Speaker 2: It on my LTK if I can find it, But
- 27:05Speaker 2: I do think it's worth getting something like that as
- 27:08Speaker 2: an alarm clock if you're the kind of person that
- 27:10Speaker 2: really wants to push yourself to become an early riser.
- 27:13Speaker 2: So those are just some three tips that I find
- 27:15Speaker 2: has really helped me getting back into my early morning
- 27:18Speaker 2: routine and just getting back into the swing of things
- 27:20Speaker 2: now that I'm home. And yeah, I just feel like
- 27:22Speaker 2: I'm finally back into routine. I'm back into my work schedule,
- 27:25Speaker 2: which has been really nice, and I got a podcast
- 27:28Speaker 2: episode up, so a win is a win. But I
- 27:31Speaker 2: apologize for not posting one the past two weeks.
- 27:34Speaker 1: As I said, it.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Was just with the back to back travels, it was
- 27:37Speaker 2: a little difficult. And last week I did get back
- 27:39Speaker 2: on a Thursday, now that I'm remembering, and I just
- 27:41Speaker 2: didn't see a point of like recording an episode. I
- 27:45Speaker 2: wanted to make my YouTube videos more of a priority.
- 27:48Speaker 2: So sometimes you just have to pick and choose when
- 27:50Speaker 2: it comes to traveling and just getting certain things up.
- 27:53Speaker 1: And yeah, I've been on my YouTube grind lately. Guys.
- 27:56Speaker 1: I freaking love YouTube.
- 27:57Speaker 2: I actually think I like it more than every other
- 28:00Speaker 2: platform that I'm on, like, including TikTok and Instagram. Actually,
- 28:03Speaker 2: I have been linking Instagram as well TikTok. It's been
- 28:06Speaker 2: a hit and mess right now. I'm just kind of
- 28:07Speaker 2: like posting stuff, but I don't know, I'm feeling more
- 28:10Speaker 2: inspired with YouTube and Instagram. So anyways, but I love
- 28:14Speaker 2: you guys allso much. Thank you guys for listening to
- 28:16Speaker 2: another episode. We are officially back. We are back with
- 28:19Speaker 2: the weekly episodes, so definitely make sure to stay tuned
- 28:22Speaker 2: for next week's episode. But if you guys are new,
- 28:25Speaker 2: definitely make sure to follow me on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
- 28:28Speaker 2: My social media handles are all linked down below. But
- 28:32Speaker 2: I love you guys also much, and I hope you
- 28:34Speaker 2: guys have the most amazing week. Happy Valentine's Day, and
- 28:37Speaker 2: let's enjoy the Month of Love.
