- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans, welcome in to do Vault Daily Prisoner by GenJag.com.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Lua.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for being here Friday, March 6.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: It is Friday, which means it is time for a mock draft.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_00]: We do mock drafts here every Friday, 7 round mock draft for your Jaguars.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: Right here right now, excited to get into it.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars have already started.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: Making money moves, we talked about that earlier.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: Today, Eric Murray, Restructured, Patrick McKerey, Restructured, I would expect more news of that sort coming soon.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: And so we're going to go ahead and dive into this mock draft.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: And I believe James Ladsdon will be aggressive to improve this football team this year.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: One way that he could do that is by trading for Edge Jonathan Grinard.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: And that's part of this mock draft.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: Edge Jonathan Grinard of the Minnesota Vikings.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: The Vikings seem to have him fire sail on a lot of different players.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: They want to trade Jonathan Grinard is the word now out there.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: So what will it take to trade for Grinard?
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: Don't know exactly.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's reported a day two pick in a day three pick.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: Probably gets the job done.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: So that's exactly what we did.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: Round three pick 81 and a 2027 fourth round pick for Edge Jonathan Grinard.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: If it takes more than that, it takes more than that.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: I would give up a second round pick in a day three pick, whatever it really takes to kind of get the job done and push that forward because I do think if you talking about getting Jonathan Grinard.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: on the field with Trayvon Walker and Josh Hines Allen in clear past rushing situations.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: You're starting to talk about something very dynamic in my opinion.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: And that gets me fired up.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think Grinard had some injury issues last year, but still productive.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he is a pressure monster.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: He's a good run defender as well.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: You could have all three of those guys on the field on rundowns, too, absolutely.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: And then he's a,
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: highly productive past Russia, who wins in a lot of ways, and defends the run, and has two years left on his contract.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars they would have a team out following the 2026 campaign.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: on that deal.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, it's not something that really ties them down long-term either.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be 29 this year.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: I really like the idea of getting Jonathan Grinart in here to juice up that past rush.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: And that's not going to be the only thing we do here in this mock draft to juice up the past rush.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: But again, we traded 81 in a 2027 fourth rounder,
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: But that's what we did here, and I didn't force that trader anything.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: That was agreed upon by the Vikings in the PFF mock draft simulator and with pick 56 overall Grayson Hulton edge our suitment edge defense of interior out of Oklahoma.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: We've drafted him a lot here on the show I just think he's a perfect fit for the Jag war is like no he doesn't have the best arm length no he
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: isn't the biggest, but are there clear similarities in my opinion to a Braden Fisk here?
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: You know, super quick, twitchy, interior, past rush or fires off the football.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: And so now, again, you're talking about getting that past rush going.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: Grace and Halton in a big way.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: And then at 88, because we don't have 81 anymore, we still have 88 though.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: Malik Muhaam at the quarterback corner back out of Texas.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think is a perfect fit for the Jaguar's defense.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: And you have guys like DeAngelo Ponds, Chandler Rivers off the board.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think those guys would fit the Jaguar's defense as well.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think they could potentially be available, specifically Chandler Rivers, because he's not that big.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: But Malik Muhaamid doesn't have the height issue.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: that those guys have he's a bigger play like he has enough height he's five eleven to play outside.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's a guy that I think has thrived in zone and he's a very smart zone player he has really good pedigree he was really productive at Texas.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: So going and getting him and pairing him long term with Travis Hunter as your outside corners I think is a great deal and then you also have the fact that I think
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: issue for the Jag war is last year.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: If Buster Brown is gone,
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: Malikmuhamid comes in and I think that you marry the past rush with the past coverage on the back end and you've upgraded both of those areas in a big way getting Travis Hunter out there full time and adding Malikmuhamid and Jonathan Grinard up front and Grayson Hulten up front and yeah, there will be some more on day three for the Jaguars and their defensive front.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: No doubt about it.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: At 100, we went Kishon Elliott, the linebacker out of Arizona State.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: you could insert so many different linebackers here that could make sense for the jackwars.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: If they let Devon Lloyd walk.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: if they don't go sign a starting linebacker getting a linebacker in the draft at some point is the path I would go down personally just because I think this is an incredibly deep and talented linebacker class and you're going to find someone who Anthony Campinele, Tim Lukobu, who this regime feels really comfortable with Kishanelli, it could be that guy, he's a playmaker at Arizona State and then in round four,
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: at 124 overall jack andries and marlin clients still on the board went with jack andries the tight end out of Texas two Texas guys coming in in this class early on for the jag wars but injuries he to me.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: is just such a complete tight end prospect.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: He's a good blocker.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: He's a great hands-ketcher, and he's a pretty good athlete overall.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: So injuries to me, coming in at 124 to complement what you have in Britain's Strange and also Quentin Morris, coming back, I think Johnny could be a cut candidate personally.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have any insight information on that, but just based on.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: the savings and the, in my opinion, lack of productivity and consistency from Johnny Monte, I could see that going that way.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: At 162, we go get another interior past-wrestle land in Robinson.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: Look, we got to get the past-wrestle to you stuff, and I, I trust in Grayson Holt and a lot, but going and getting another guy who, in my opinion, was the biggest combined snub there was, and somebody who is a really good run defender, but also like Grayson Holten undersized.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: can create a lot of interior penetration and pressure.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, landing Robinson out of Navy, the Jaguars will be familiar with him after drafting Rey on land out of Navy last year.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: We went and got at 164 Chase Robert, so why do you see for out of BYU?
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: Big physical receiver, handscatcher.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think you can potentially look at him as a
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: Tim Patrick, long-term replacement.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if Tim Patrick will be back this year or not, but either way, I think Chase Roberts could serve that function in your offense moving forward.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: Round 7, 233, Logan Fano, another player.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: We have looked at here.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: Spencer Fano, obviously is an offensive line and that's gonna go away earlier, but Logan Fano here to me, just competitive and like,
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: You had a Jonathan Grenard right and behind him, obviously, you have your two undergraduate pre-agents from last year and Danny Sturgo and B.J.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: Green.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: This is competition for those back-end spots at Ed rush, right?
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: And then at 245 and around 7, we went and got Josh Moton, the Southern Miss Cornerback, who, I mean, unbelievably productive when it comes to picking passes off.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: 10 interceptions over the last two years, competitive against the run.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: See if he can come in here and raise the floor on the back end of your cornerback room, as well.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: give Christian Braswell and Keith Taylor and these other guys some competition.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: This is the direction we win.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's a defense heavy draft.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: I do think the Jaguars will be trying to address their defense a good bit.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: This upcoming offseason.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: and get it going with Jonathan Granada.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: That would be awesome to see Jonathan Granada and Black and Teal in 2026 and then obviously Grace and Houghton and Landon Robbins in two big additions.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: I have been all on board upgrading the Titan position.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: This this offseason I just think that that could be one of those levers the Jaguar could pull to help
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: evolve this offense and evolve this football team a little bit.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: So that'll do it.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
