- 1:08Speaker 2: And now from the Connors and Sullivan Broadcast Studios. A
- 1:12Speaker 2: man who is not what he wants to be, but
- 1:15Speaker 2: is way grateful that is not who he used to be.
- 1:18Speaker 5: Here all right.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Welcome in, Kevin mccallough. Glad to have you with us.
- 1:27Speaker 1: It is a well, it's a sunny day in New York,
- 1:31Speaker 1: though it's full. We were hoping for the fifties. You know,
- 1:35Speaker 1: it's in the low thirties. It's just one of those
- 1:39Speaker 1: weird spring days where you think it's going to be
- 1:41Speaker 1: warm and it doesn't look anything like it. But having
- 1:44Speaker 1: said that, it's warm in my heart knowing that you're
- 1:47Speaker 1: here and that we can help think through the biggest
- 1:50Speaker 1: stories and issues of the day together for the next
- 1:52Speaker 1: couple of hours. We call it that Kevin Show. That
- 1:55Speaker 1: Kevinshow dot com is where you go to get the podcast,
- 1:59Speaker 1: the everything that I talk about. And I'm very excited
- 2:02Speaker 1: about today's column, by the way, and it's it's timely,
- 2:05Speaker 1: but it's not necessarily newsy. Sometimes I write about other
- 2:09Speaker 1: things that pop into my mind, and I have a
- 2:12Speaker 1: lot of things that pop into my mind and have
- 2:15Speaker 1: in recent days. There are stories that entertain, and then
- 2:20Speaker 1: there are stories that just confront you with all kinds
- 2:23Speaker 1: of conviction and truth. And the life of Saint Patrick
- 2:28Speaker 1: does not to me belong in the shallow end of
- 2:31Speaker 1: cultural celebration. I know today there's going to be green
- 2:34Speaker 1: beer and plastic hats and parades that forget all the point,
- 2:39Speaker 1: but his life is something far more unsettling, because Saint
- 2:44Speaker 1: Patrick didn't just survive evil, he went back to it.
- 2:48Speaker 1: At sixteen, he was stolen from his home, ripped from
- 2:51Speaker 1: his family, dragged across the sea, forced into slavery in
- 2:54Speaker 1: a land that was not his own. He was not Irish.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Ireland was not then the land of saints and scholars.
- 3:01Speaker 1: It was wild and tribal and dangerous. And he spent
- 3:05Speaker 1: years alone, cold, hungry, forgotten, tending sheep on hills that
- 3:11Speaker 1: did not care if he lived or died. And yet
- 3:15Speaker 1: it was there that something happened, not comfort, not rescue. Faith.
- 3:20Speaker 1: In his own words, Patrick writes that he began to
- 3:22Speaker 1: pray constantly, dozens, even hundreds of times a day, not
- 3:26Speaker 1: because he was religious, but because he was desperate. And
- 3:31Speaker 1: in that desperation he discovered something that many of us,
- 3:34Speaker 1: with all our conveniences and comforts, rarely ever grasp, dependence
- 3:42Speaker 1: not on strength, not on strategy, not on self, but
- 3:48Speaker 1: dependence on Christ. Years later, he would pin what has
- 3:52Speaker 1: become one of the most enduring declarations of Christian devotion.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ
- 4:03Speaker 1: beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ
- 4:11Speaker 1: on my left. It was not poetry pen for Instagram
- 4:15Speaker 1: it was the language of survival. Eventually, Patrick escaped, against
- 4:19Speaker 1: all odds, he made at home. The nightmare was over,
- 4:23Speaker 1: the trauma behind him. The door to a normal life, safe, familiar,
- 4:28Speaker 1: deserved was wide open. And this is where the story
- 4:32Speaker 1: totally stops making sense, because instead of moving on, he
- 4:38Speaker 1: turned around. He chose to go back back to the
- 4:41Speaker 1: place of his pain, back to the people who enslaved him,
- 4:44Speaker 1: back to the land that had taken everything from him.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Why because the same Christ who met him in the
- 4:51Speaker 1: valley was now calling him to walk back into the
- 4:55Speaker 1: same valley. That's the part of the story we don't
- 4:57Speaker 1: celebrate enough because it demands something of us. We live
- 5:00Speaker 1: in a culture obsessed with escape. Get out, move on,
- 5:05Speaker 1: cut ties, protect your peace, build your brand, avoid the
- 5:09Speaker 1: hard places and even the harder people. But Patrick did
- 5:12Speaker 1: the opposite. He walked toward them, not with revenge in
- 5:18Speaker 1: his heart, but was redemption on his lips. He returned
- 5:25Speaker 1: not as a victim, but as a witness. And in
- 5:29Speaker 1: doing so, he didn't just change his own story, he
- 5:34Speaker 1: changed an entire nation's trajectory. Ireland would never be the same.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Here's the uncomfortable truth. Most of us want comfort of
- 5:47Speaker 1: faith without the cost of obedience. We love the idea
- 5:52Speaker 1: of Christ before me when it means guidance and blessing
- 5:55Speaker 1: and provision. But what happens when Christ before Me leads
- 5:59Speaker 1: us somewhere We would never choose on our own when
- 6:02Speaker 1: I need a perspective bigger than my pain. That's not
- 6:05Speaker 1: safe faith, that's dangerous faith, the kind that transforms not
- 6:12Speaker 1: just individuals, but whole cultures. We don't know what conversations
- 6:16Speaker 1: Patrick had when he first stepped back into Iris, onto
- 6:19Speaker 1: Irish soil. We don't know what memories came flooding back,
- 6:23Speaker 1: what fears tried to take hold, what doubts whispered in
- 6:26Speaker 1: the quiet, But we know this he didn't turn back again.
- 6:30Speaker 1: He stayed, He preached, he loved, he forgave, and slowly, steady, impossibly,
- 6:38Speaker 1: hearts began to change. This Saint Patrick's day, the world
- 6:42Speaker 1: will celebrate with noise. But Patrick's life was built in silence,
- 6:45Speaker 1: on lonely hillsides, in whispered prayers, in the unseen decisions
- 6:51Speaker 1: of obedience that no one applauded until everyone did. The
- 6:55Speaker 1: question his life leaves us with is not whether we'll
- 6:59Speaker 1: wear green or orange. It's whether We'll walk where Christ leads,
- 7:05Speaker 1: even when it costs us, even when it takes us
- 7:09Speaker 1: back into places we swore we'd never go back to,
- 7:15Speaker 1: even when forgiveness feels impossible and obedience feels unreasonable. Because
- 7:22Speaker 1: the same Christ who stands before us is the one
- 7:27Speaker 1: who stands within us. And if Patrick's life proves anything,
- 7:33Speaker 1: it proves this. You don't need perfect circumstances to change
- 7:39Speaker 1: the world. If you're waiting on them, you'll never get them.
- 7:48Speaker 1: They will never come, It will never be the perfect time.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Perfect circumstances are a carot that is chased. They are
- 8:07Speaker 1: an imagination that does not come true. They don't exist
- 8:14Speaker 1: in our timeline, they don't exist in history's timeline. And
- 8:18Speaker 1: Patrick's life proved that you don't need them to change
- 8:22Speaker 1: the world. You need a surrendered heart Christ before me.
- 8:31Speaker 1: It's not just a phrase. It's a direction, and for
- 8:36Speaker 1: those who are willing to follow it, it leads you
- 8:40Speaker 1: to a life that echoes far beyond a single day
- 8:45Speaker 1: in the month of March. Kevin McCullough, if you would
- 8:49Speaker 1: like to know more about that Christ, send me an
- 8:52Speaker 1: email that Kevin Show at gmail dot com. If we
- 8:57Speaker 1: don't do anything else, at this microphone. If we never
- 9:00Speaker 1: accomplish the passing of one piece of legislation, if we don't,
- 9:04Speaker 1: if we don't do anything else here, I'm okay with that.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I want you to know the Christ that goes before
- 9:13Speaker 1: and the Christ who comes behind, the Christ who is
- 9:18Speaker 1: in me, the Christ who is under the steps that
- 9:23Speaker 1: I take. He's beneath me, he's above me. He's on
- 9:29Speaker 1: my right and my left. I want you to know
- 9:33Speaker 1: him too. That Kevin Show at gmail dot com. If
- 9:39Speaker 1: you want to know more about how, that Kevin Show
- 9:42Speaker 1: at gmail dot com, That Kevin Show at gmail dot com,
- 9:48Speaker 1: stay with us, a very full eye straight here.
- 10:08Speaker 7: He is from New York, That Kevin Kevin McCulla.
- 10:16Speaker 1: All right, Kevin mccallough, Glad to have you with us.
- 10:18Speaker 1: It's the Tuesday edition of How Do We Live? And
- 10:22Speaker 1: that Kevin Show. Everything is at that kevinshow dot com,
- 10:25Speaker 1: including the podcast, my daily column at town Hall, the
- 10:30Speaker 1: TV show, whatever you want, it's all there. We don't
- 10:32Speaker 1: put it behind anything that you have to pay for
- 10:34Speaker 1: because we just want you to have access to it
- 10:36Speaker 1: and we want it to impact your life. And we
- 10:38Speaker 1: ask this question each day, how do we live? How
- 10:40Speaker 1: do we live in a culture that hates God? Actually,
- 10:45Speaker 1: that may be an overstatement. They may manipulate God. They
- 10:48Speaker 1: may say that the God of their universe, their truth,
- 10:52Speaker 1: is someone that they can have, and he's a happy person,
- 10:55Speaker 1: and they put him in his pocket and wherever they
- 10:57Speaker 1: go they want a little happy God stuff, they take
- 11:00Speaker 1: him out. But then you attach God, the concept of
- 11:03Speaker 1: God to the Bible, and that's where the real problem is,
- 11:07Speaker 1: because the Bible tells us what God's heart is and
- 11:10Speaker 1: where it's at. So how do we live in a
- 11:12Speaker 1: culture that despises those two things and then kind of
- 11:15Speaker 1: looks at us as like the cross eyed cousin because
- 11:18Speaker 1: we claim an allegiance to those things. Does that have
- 11:21Speaker 1: any impact on who we're supposed to be? I would
- 11:23Speaker 1: argue that scripture says no. Here to discuss a lot
- 11:27Speaker 1: of this with us this week is one of our
- 11:30Speaker 1: very special friends, Pastor Alan Jackson. He's heard nationwide on
- 11:33Speaker 1: the Salem Radio Network and he's heard a lot of
- 11:36Speaker 1: the same markets that I'm heard on. You may get
- 11:39Speaker 1: me on the same station, you may get me on
- 11:41Speaker 1: the news talk station, and he would be on the
- 11:43Speaker 1: teaching station. But he's also on the TBN Network Television
- 11:47Speaker 1: every night with Alan Jackson Now, and he's also got
- 11:51Speaker 1: a podcast, Culture and Christianity. But he's written this new book,
- 11:55Speaker 1: Lead with Faith, just out a few days ago, Using
- 11:57Speaker 1: your influence for God's Purposes. Allen, For the next four
- 12:01Speaker 1: days counting today, we're going to break down this idea
- 12:05Speaker 1: kind of concept by concept. What does leading with Faith
- 12:09Speaker 1: look like? What are we talking about today?
- 12:11Speaker 8: Well, I think the next step in this progression of
- 12:15Speaker 8: expanding our influence is we kind of have to recognize
- 12:18Speaker 8: the elephant in the room. Most of us feel like
- 12:20Speaker 8: we're not qualified to lead. Like the people that do
- 12:23Speaker 8: feel qualified make me a little anxious.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Because the chat is if the guy's always raising his hand,
- 12:30Speaker 1: pick pick me, maybe not the right mindset towards it.
- 12:36Speaker 8: I think you're right, but there's some things that take
- 12:38Speaker 8: root in our heart and I don't think they're accurate.
- 12:40Speaker 8: And we all have to wrestle with these. You know,
- 12:43Speaker 8: you know I don't have the right resources, or I
- 12:45Speaker 8: don't have enough influence, or.
- 12:47Speaker 4: I don't have the gifts.
- 12:47Speaker 8: If I had the gifts that I know somebody else has,
- 12:49Speaker 8: it'd be easier for me. Or I've got too much
- 12:52Speaker 8: baggage in my life.
- 12:53Speaker 3: And you know, all those things are true.
- 12:55Speaker 8: We don't have all the things that we would need
- 12:57Speaker 8: to impact our world, but the one we worship and
- 13:00Speaker 8: the one we serve and the one whom we represent.
- 13:02Speaker 8: Does you know Mike Huckaby is a friend of mine.
- 13:05Speaker 8: And I knew Mike Huckabee when he had a television
- 13:07Speaker 8: show and he was an ex governor. And all of
- 13:10Speaker 8: a sudden, the President of the United States tapped him
- 13:11Speaker 8: and said, I want you to be an ambassador for
- 13:13Speaker 8: the United States to the nation of Israel. And Mike's
- 13:16Speaker 8: life changed, his status changed, his authority changed, his role
- 13:20Speaker 8: in the world changed. Well, the creator of Heaven and
- 13:23Speaker 8: Earth tapped every one of us and said, I want
- 13:25Speaker 8: you to be an ambassador for my kingdom and your generation.
- 13:29Speaker 8: So now it wasn't about Mike's resources or Mike's education.
- 13:33Speaker 8: He was an ambassador for the United States of America. Well,
- 13:36Speaker 8: we're ambassadors for the Kingdom of Almighty God. So it
- 13:41Speaker 8: isn't about my resources or my education or even my failures.
- 13:45Speaker 8: And I have some of those in my life, and
- 13:48Speaker 8: we've got to wrestle it. We can't let the enemy
- 13:51Speaker 8: sideline us because of the things we're not because the
- 13:55Speaker 8: invitation that's been given to us is by someone far
- 13:58Speaker 8: more powerful than the advassary that is trying to discourage us.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think that that's an easy thing to miss,
- 14:06Speaker 1: especially if we're not getting like good teaching on a
- 14:11Speaker 1: regular basis, and a reminder if somebody has been wrestling
- 14:16Speaker 1: with that. What does scripture tell us about how we
- 14:21Speaker 1: should view ourselves in light of that?
- 14:23Speaker 8: Well, there's a verse that's a favorite of mine. It's
- 14:25Speaker 8: in Hebrews chapter twelve. And we've just come out of
- 14:29Speaker 8: the Hebrews eleven is the kind of the Hall of Fame.
- 14:31Speaker 8: It's all these men and women and the remarkable exploits
- 14:33Speaker 8: of the Kingdom of God. And we get to Hebrews
- 14:37Speaker 8: chapter twelve. It says, now let us run with perseverance
- 14:42Speaker 8: the race marked on for us. But the second verse
- 14:44Speaker 8: says that God is the author and the finisher of
- 14:47Speaker 8: our faith. And then that's helpful to me because he's
- 14:51Speaker 8: the initiator. He knew me when I was being knit
- 14:53Speaker 8: together in my mother's womb. He's aware of all of
- 14:57Speaker 8: my inatdequisies, in shortcomings, but he's the of the story
- 15:01Speaker 8: and when you write a book, you have the phrase
- 15:04Speaker 8: is poetic license. I can keep writing the ending till
- 15:07Speaker 8: I get it the way I like it. And so
- 15:09Speaker 8: the reality is I take some detours and make some
- 15:12Speaker 8: knuckleheaded decisions. But God's the finisher of my story. And
- 15:16Speaker 8: because of the redemptive power of the Cross and what
- 15:19Speaker 8: Jesus has done for us, I have been delivered. I've
- 15:22Speaker 8: been forgiven. I have been made a totally new creation.
- 15:26Speaker 8: And that's not an excuse for sloppy living, but it
- 15:28Speaker 8: means I'm not anchored to the disappointments and the brokenness
- 15:32Speaker 8: of my life. So if the enemy is reminding you
- 15:35Speaker 8: of your shortcomings or the lack of your education, or
- 15:38Speaker 8: whatever he's accusing you with, we need to be more
- 15:42Speaker 8: aware that God's the finisher of my story. And if
- 15:45Speaker 8: God puts an invitation before me, He'll be giving me
- 15:47Speaker 8: everything I need to accomplish. It won't mean it to
- 15:49Speaker 8: be easy, right, God said Samuel, denying David to be king,
- 15:54Speaker 8: But he didn't remove Saul from the throne, which meant
- 15:57Speaker 8: David had several years of some really difficult things to overcome.
- 16:01Speaker 8: I mean, he told Abraham he had to leave home
- 16:03Speaker 8: to find his purposes for his life. But Abraham was
- 16:07Speaker 8: decades getting across the finish line on what God had
- 16:11Speaker 8: for him. And so don't imagine that leading with your
- 16:14Speaker 8: faith and serving the Lord's going to be easy. In fact,
- 16:16Speaker 8: if it's not easy.
- 16:17Speaker 3: You're probably on the right track.
- 16:20Speaker 8: But the author of your faith, the initiator of that invitation,
- 16:23Speaker 8: is also the completer. And that is such a powerful,
- 16:27Speaker 8: powerful message for all of us to remember.
- 16:31Speaker 1: It seems to me, Pastor that that this aspect of
- 16:36Speaker 1: what we're talking about leading with faith, and you can
- 16:39Speaker 1: read the entire book, friends, Lead with faith using your
- 16:42Speaker 1: influence for God's purposes. It's out now, came out on
- 16:45Speaker 1: March shape. It seems to me that it doesn't take
- 16:50Speaker 1: a lot to go too far in my own confidence
- 16:54Speaker 1: and skills and thoughts that I'm good and I'm kind
- 16:57Speaker 1: of helping God out with his or to slide off
- 17:03Speaker 1: the other way and feel like it's all too enormous
- 17:07Speaker 1: for me. Staying on alignment and staying in proper humility
- 17:12Speaker 1: and gratitude, but staying hungry and staying active and staying
- 17:20Speaker 1: you know, motivated, it seems that the key to it.
- 17:24Speaker 1: So it doesn't become pride, and it doesn't become you know,
- 17:27Speaker 1: this intimidation is the key to it is aligning myself
- 17:33Speaker 1: with God's purpose and the need for that has to
- 17:38Speaker 1: come from a relationship with Him. The I don't know
- 17:41Speaker 1: if I'm on the target, if I keep taking my
- 17:43Speaker 1: eyes off of the target, you understand what I'm saying.
- 17:48Speaker 4: I think.
- 17:48Speaker 8: So there's a temptation, and I think it's particularly true
- 17:53Speaker 8: in men.
- 17:54Speaker 1: But I know women aren't immune.
- 17:56Speaker 8: But men come to me and they'll say to me,
- 17:58Speaker 8: you know, what book do I.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Need to read?
- 18:00Speaker 8: They want to master their faith like they have mastered
- 18:03Speaker 8: bass fishing.
- 18:07Speaker 3: Or tennis, and it's you.
- 18:09Speaker 4: Know, tell me what I need to know.
- 18:10Speaker 8: Give me the sixth Essential Truths or the Four Keys
- 18:12Speaker 8: or the book. And really what we're talking about, I
- 18:16Speaker 8: think is more of a life commitment that emerges from
- 18:20Speaker 8: a desire to honor God. And that is an ever
- 18:24Speaker 8: changing emerging because difference. It's like it's a marriage, or
- 18:29Speaker 8: it's parenting, or I like gardening as an example, you know,
- 18:34Speaker 8: it's a biblical example and First Corinthians, Paul talks about that.
- 18:37Speaker 8: He said, I planted a seed.
- 18:38Speaker 3: And Apolus watered it.
- 18:40Speaker 8: My dad was a veterinarian, so I grew up in
- 18:42Speaker 8: kind of a rural setting and we would have gardens
- 18:46Speaker 8: and the beginning of the year springtime, you have to
- 18:50Speaker 8: break up the ground and get the ground ready to
- 18:52Speaker 8: receive the seeds, and that's a skill set that goes
- 18:56Speaker 8: without a certain kind of effort. Then you monitor that
- 18:59Speaker 8: product through the growing season. Then when it's harvest time,
- 19:03Speaker 8: that's a whole different kind of skill set and workload.
- 19:06Speaker 8: You can't do the same thing every day and think
- 19:08Speaker 8: you're going to have a healthy crop. And Christians, I think,
- 19:11Speaker 8: you know, we're looking for a way to fix it.
- 19:13Speaker 8: So I don't have to think about it anymore. I
- 19:15Speaker 8: don't have to really pay any attention to it. I
- 19:17Speaker 8: just want to put it on autopilot. And an important
- 19:20Speaker 8: step in this is being willing to say to the Lord,
- 19:22Speaker 8: I want to know you today. You know, my moods
- 19:26Speaker 8: are different every day. Pray for the people that work
- 19:28Speaker 8: with me because they have to adapt to.
- 19:30Speaker 1: How I am today.
- 19:32Speaker 8: And as much as I try to be consistent, I
- 19:35Speaker 8: know I'm not the same every day. And I want
- 19:37Speaker 8: to get to know the Lord at different times, different seasons,
- 19:40Speaker 8: different assignments, and that means I constantly get.
- 19:43Speaker 3: To learn and change and emerge.
- 19:45Speaker 8: And I'm not perfect and I'm always learning. I'm like
- 19:48Speaker 8: the little kid that's trying to learn to walk. I
- 19:50Speaker 8: fall down a lot and I have to get back up.
- 19:52Speaker 8: But I love the journey. And that's what I want
- 19:54Speaker 8: to invite your listeners to is, let's decide to go
- 19:56Speaker 8: serve the Lord with joy and excitement and enthusiasm.
- 20:00Speaker 1: You won't be disappointed. No, I will attest that investing
- 20:07Speaker 1: in that relationship never has a downside. It's almost like
- 20:11Speaker 1: a marriage. If you invest in your marriage, you're seldom
- 20:14Speaker 1: going to have a downside, But if you invest in
- 20:15Speaker 1: your relationship with Jesus, You'll never have a downside. Pastor
- 20:19Speaker 1: Alan Jackson is is our guest this week. He is
- 20:22Speaker 1: sharing with us from his book Lead with Faith, Using
- 20:25Speaker 1: your influence for God's purposes. And tomorrow we will take
- 20:29Speaker 1: up just another kind of leg to the table of
- 20:33Speaker 1: all of this as we are going through our week.
- 20:35Speaker 1: But Pastor Allen, thank you for being here and we'll
- 20:37Speaker 1: see you tomorrow. Absolutely, Kevin Calvin mccallaugh coming right back
- 20:41Speaker 1: from Times Square. I don't go anywhere.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Let's stick around for more of that. Kevin. Next here
- 21:08Speaker 4: he is from New York. That Kevin, Kevin McCullough, John,
- 21:19Speaker 4: can it be?
- 21:25Speaker 9: She prays that God helped her to give them at
- 21:27Speaker 9: least one more day of food.
- 21:29Speaker 4: So it's a daily prayer.
- 21:31Speaker 1: I don't know about you, friends, but when I hear
- 21:33Speaker 1: that little baby in the backdrop just doing the little coops,
- 21:37Speaker 1: it's like, it's so uh, it's it's so endearing, it's
- 21:40Speaker 1: so charming. And then and then it hits you that
- 21:44Speaker 1: an hell is talking about a mother who may not
- 21:47Speaker 1: be able to feed that baby today, and she's praying
- 21:49Speaker 1: for one more day's worth of food. That's what we're
- 21:52Speaker 1: trying to end in the current campaign that we're doing
- 21:55Speaker 1: with Food for the Poor. Danny Petito is back with
- 21:57Speaker 1: Kevin McCullough and we are talking about the opportunity to
- 22:02Speaker 1: feed that child or one just like it, who has
- 22:06Speaker 1: food and security for a gift of only seventy five
- 22:09Speaker 1: dollars for the entire year two meals a day. It's
- 22:12Speaker 1: more than seven hundred and seventy meals something like that
- 22:16Speaker 1: for the coming year, and being able to do so
- 22:20Speaker 1: so economically. I don't know if you've done the math
- 22:23Speaker 1: on that, but that's an incredibly inexpensive meal, and yet
- 22:26Speaker 1: it'll be everything that that child needs to be healthy.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Daniel Patino is back with us. Danny, I hear that,
- 22:32Speaker 1: and I hear the baby, and it's like, you know,
- 22:34Speaker 1: there's just a dad part of me that just can't
- 22:36Speaker 1: get away from you know, how can we let something
- 22:39Speaker 1: so innocent, someone so little, go hungry. It's just it's inconceivable.
- 22:44Speaker 10: I'm a dad of two myself. One is turning eight
- 22:49Speaker 10: coming weeks, and the little one it's three, and she's
- 22:52Speaker 10: just as fast as the eight year old. And I
- 22:55Speaker 10: want to take you to the perspective of Beatrice that
- 22:57Speaker 10: we just heard.
- 22:58Speaker 1: There.
- 22:58Speaker 10: There's prayers for health, there's prayers for safety, there's prayers
- 23:02Speaker 10: for prosperity, and then there are prayers that you just
- 23:05Speaker 10: heard there that just it breaks your heart because that's
- 23:09Speaker 10: a prayer from one more day of food, and that
- 23:13Speaker 10: becomes the entire horizon. That's their reality right now. I
- 23:16Speaker 10: can't pray for anything else than just one more meal,
- 23:19Speaker 10: one more meal to come in any way possible, from
- 23:23Speaker 10: a neighbor, from a food center, from a pastor that
- 23:28Speaker 10: just comes to the door. And I'm here for you.
- 23:32Speaker 10: I've listened to your prayers. You are not alone. And
- 23:36Speaker 10: those are the moments that we love to have here
- 23:39Speaker 10: at Food for the Poor because it comes from the
- 23:40Speaker 10: generosity of your audience, and I followed that journey of
- 23:44Speaker 10: that gift right It comes in as a small donation
- 23:49Speaker 10: and it becomes a big, big change in these families' lives.
- 23:52Speaker 10: This is that one little push that some of these
- 23:54Speaker 10: families need to finally get back out of that cycle
- 23:57Speaker 10: of poverty and transform their lives for the better.
- 24:00Speaker 3: And if for the children, it's a whole new world.
- 24:02Speaker 10: They become children again, they get to focus on playing,
- 24:05Speaker 10: not necessarily having to stay indoors because the tummy aches
- 24:09Speaker 10: are just the body is not responding from malnutrition or
- 24:14Speaker 10: dirty water that usually happens in these communities that we serve,
- 24:17Speaker 10: the waters that just make them sick, even if they
- 24:21Speaker 10: try to boil it or they try to treat it.
- 24:23Speaker 10: And those are the changes that we're going on right now,
- 24:25Speaker 10: and that's through the generosity of your audience.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three
- 24:31Speaker 1: is where you call to give your gift. We're talking
- 24:34Speaker 1: about children in the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere,
- 24:38Speaker 1: one of the poorest countries in the world, Haiti another
- 24:40Speaker 1: one of the poorest countries in the world, Guatemala, another
- 24:43Speaker 1: one of the poorest countries in the world, Honduras. We're
- 24:46Speaker 1: talking about true systemic poverty that these children and Danny
- 24:53Speaker 1: it's hard to it's hard to describe to someone who's
- 24:57Speaker 1: never been there to see it for themselves. But when
- 24:59Speaker 1: we think of the distended bellies, when we think of
- 25:01Speaker 1: the orange hair, when we think of the the the
- 25:06Speaker 1: kind of misshapen ways we've seen kids in some of
- 25:09Speaker 1: these places, there is a reason why the body has
- 25:13Speaker 1: done all of that. It's trying to protect itself from
- 25:17Speaker 1: the natural effects of malnutrition. And so this is this
- 25:20Speaker 1: is what happens. It begins in an essence, feeding on
- 25:22Speaker 1: itself over a period of time. And that's why we
- 25:25Speaker 1: need carbohydrates, we need proteins, we need all of the
- 25:29Speaker 1: little vitamins that come with that, and we need it
- 25:31Speaker 1: to be in a regular supply on a regular basis,
- 25:35Speaker 1: And that's how the body not only sustains, but when
- 25:38Speaker 1: you're talking about children, actually helps them grow and friends,
- 25:41Speaker 1: these are these are these are children coming from families
- 25:44Speaker 1: that do not make well, Danny, how much does the
- 25:47Speaker 1: average family make that Food for the Poor has help with.
- 25:51Speaker 10: We're talking about less than two dollars a day. We've
- 25:54Speaker 10: seen that as just it's not enough. It's not enough
- 25:57Speaker 10: to feed anyone on a daily basis, nor keep a home.
- 26:00Speaker 10: And most of these families that we spoke to, they
- 26:03Speaker 10: have to travel for work. It's not like they go
- 26:06Speaker 10: next door or they're going down right, So there's two
- 26:09Speaker 10: things that happen there. One of the parents is in
- 26:11Speaker 10: home most of the day because they have to go
- 26:13Speaker 10: out and work.
- 26:14Speaker 3: And the other one is the distance.
- 26:15Speaker 10: Some families we've spoken to they have to grab a bus,
- 26:18Speaker 10: get on another tuck tuck or the little taxis that
- 26:21Speaker 10: look like motorcycles, jump on another transportation and all those
- 26:25Speaker 10: cost There is cost involved one way and coming back.
- 26:29Speaker 10: So the finally, and if it rains, you can guess
- 26:33Speaker 10: there is no work and that equals to no money
- 26:36Speaker 10: on the no money in your pocket, no food on
- 26:38Speaker 10: the table. So that's why we heard Beatrice at the
- 26:41Speaker 10: beginning of the segment. Here we heard are just for
- 26:43Speaker 10: not praying for a miracle, but praying that ordinary comes about, right,
- 26:49Speaker 10: the normal for what we take for granted is their normal,
- 26:53Speaker 10: and that's why we're that's what we're fighting for the
- 26:55Speaker 10: basis of life, of what we're calling here food for
- 26:57Speaker 10: the poor on this day of hope with you. It's
- 27:00Speaker 10: it's the basics of life, which is food and clean water,
- 27:03Speaker 10: and that's all they're praying for right now. And that's
- 27:05Speaker 10: what you can step into the reality of these families
- 27:08Speaker 10: right now with your one time gift and it's a
- 27:10Speaker 10: world of change for these families.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Yeah, we're we're coming to the rescue as the best
- 27:15Speaker 1: we can right now. Eight five five nine zero seven
- 27:19Speaker 1: four six seven three. Every gift being doubled right now
- 27:22Speaker 1: eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Or text the word hunger to five one five five five,
- 27:29Speaker 1: or go to that kevinshow dot com and click the
- 27:31Speaker 1: banner at the top of the page eight five five
- 27:33Speaker 1: nine zero seven four six seven three eight five five
- 27:36Speaker 1: nine zero seven four six seven three that kevinshow dot com.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Or text hunger to five one five five five eight
- 27:45Speaker 1: five five nine zero seven four six seven three.
- 28:07Speaker 4: Here he is from New York. That Kevin McCullough.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Welcome back to Times Square. Kevin McCullough, that Kevin Show,
- 28:18Speaker 1: that kevinshow dot com for everything. We don't put anything
- 28:21Speaker 1: behind a paywall because we want you to have access
- 28:23Speaker 1: to it. You know, I'm always tracking with the Campus
- 28:26Speaker 1: Reform Group weird stuff that's going on on the college campuses.
- 28:31Speaker 1: For lack of a better term, I don't know that
- 28:33Speaker 1: it gets much more strange than for students to be
- 28:38Speaker 1: chanting death to America on American university campuses. Here to
- 28:45Speaker 1: discuss is William Biagny, Campus Reform Assistant Editor. We have
- 28:50Speaker 1: reported a lot on Emily's reporting here, but William is
- 28:53Speaker 1: part of the group there as well. William explain this
- 28:57Speaker 1: how and where is this taking right?
- 29:01Speaker 6: Thank you so much for having me on today. It's
- 29:03Speaker 6: great to be here. So we got this really crazy
- 29:05Speaker 6: story today. So for about five decades now, Iran has
- 29:08Speaker 6: been chanting death to America, but we're seeing this crazy
- 29:11Speaker 6: phenomenon where these chants are now making their way to
- 29:15Speaker 6: college campuses in the United States of America, which is
- 29:19Speaker 6: it's surprising to see that our universities which have been
- 29:22Speaker 6: training students up in radical leftist ideology, well now we
- 29:26Speaker 6: have students that are siding with the super repressive Islamic.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Regime in Iran.
- 29:32Speaker 6: So we have this one example at Columbia University where
- 29:35Speaker 6: an anti Israel group linked to that university. It's not
- 29:40Speaker 6: one hundred percent affiliated with university, but it's linked to.
- 29:42Speaker 6: It was channing mark Barr i'mrica, which is Farsi for
- 29:46Speaker 6: death to America.
- 29:47Speaker 3: We also have students at.
- 29:48Speaker 6: Yale University that we're photographed doing a protest with signs
- 29:53Speaker 6: using similar slogans. So we're starting to see students at
- 29:56Speaker 6: American universities channing the very same things that our foreign
- 30:00Speaker 6: adversaries are also chanting.
- 30:02Speaker 1: I see this as more important than yelling fire in
- 30:05Speaker 1: a crowded theater. We talk about freedom of speech, but
- 30:08Speaker 1: death to America.
- 30:10Speaker 3: Right, So here's the thing.
- 30:11Speaker 6: Our universities are supposed to be institutions where ideas are
- 30:15Speaker 6: thrown back and forth in the pursuit of truth. They're
- 30:18Speaker 6: not supposed to be what they are now, which are
- 30:21Speaker 6: ideological echo chambers for the left to train students up
- 30:24Speaker 6: to hate America, hate what it was founded on, and
- 30:28Speaker 6: in addition, protest anything that President Trump does.
- 30:31Speaker 3: So they don't even look at it anymore.
- 30:32Speaker 6: It's just, oh, president Trump takes an action, Oh, let's
- 30:35Speaker 6: go protest it. They don't even realize the irony here,
- 30:39Speaker 6: which is that these students are protesting in support of
- 30:42Speaker 6: a regime that is famous for killing its own protesters,
- 30:46Speaker 6: that has slaughtered tens of thousands of them, and it
- 30:48Speaker 6: won't stop until we stand up and realize its stand
- 30:52Speaker 6: up and say, hey, our universities, you know you're not
- 30:54Speaker 6: going to teach our students to hate America, hate the
- 30:57Speaker 6: country that you were born in, raised in. We need
- 30:59Speaker 6: to see intellectual diversity return to higher education and students
- 31:03Speaker 6: need to be taught the reality of ze.
- 31:05Speaker 1: I'm going to repeat my question. Are any of these
- 31:07Speaker 1: schools taking any action towards the groups that are perpetrating
- 31:11Speaker 1: this behavior?
- 31:12Speaker 6: You know, if they are, we will continue to monitor them,
- 31:15Speaker 6: monitor them at LUSHAP. They have as yet, it's it's
- 31:18Speaker 6: still up in the We're still seeing this situation ongoing.
- 31:21Speaker 6: The whole thing is ongoing, So if something does happen,
- 31:25Speaker 6: we will be the first report on it.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Well, I hope that at least those that are watching
- 31:30Speaker 1: or listening to me today, if you're an alumnus of
- 31:34Speaker 1: Columbia University, that you call the endowment department and tell
- 31:38Speaker 1: them you're not giving any more money to them, like,
- 31:40Speaker 1: don't I don't want money going to universities. The same
- 31:43Speaker 1: with Yale if there was an incident there, don't. I
- 31:46Speaker 1: don't want money going to universities that are going to
- 31:48Speaker 1: promote death to America. I'm sorry, I know that makes
- 31:51Speaker 1: me crazy and very elitist, but that's the way it
- 31:53Speaker 1: is now. Similarly, there are some groups that are protesting
- 31:59Speaker 1: the war in Iran, which doesn't seem to be quite
- 32:01Speaker 1: as harsh in my way of thinking as asking for
- 32:06Speaker 1: death to America. But what's going on at Arizona State University?
- 32:10Speaker 6: Right, So, we have socialist and pro Palestinian students at
- 32:13Speaker 6: Arizona State University, and they came out with a no
- 32:16Speaker 6: war in Iran protest, protesting President Trump's joint strikes with
- 32:20Speaker 6: Israel on the Kamani regime. But what was interesting about
- 32:24Speaker 6: this is that this protest was challenged by Irunnian students
- 32:27Speaker 6: who said that Iran lived under a Runians were living
- 32:31Speaker 6: under a dictatorship for over forty years, and that they
- 32:34Speaker 6: actually support international pressure on the regime responsible for widespread
- 32:40Speaker 6: human rights abuses. And so this does go back to
- 32:42Speaker 6: show that these students are not being taught the reality
- 32:46Speaker 6: of these regimes. And as we were mentioning earlier, they're
- 32:49Speaker 6: being told death to America. And these are the universities
- 32:52Speaker 6: that are in the United States here there, and we're
- 32:54Speaker 6: beginning to see all of these leftist rallying cries of
- 32:58Speaker 6: no war in Iran and anti Israel. They're all being
- 33:02Speaker 6: joined together because our universities don't have intellectual diversity anymore.
- 33:08Speaker 1: I mean, it's so well said, but it's it's very
- 33:10Speaker 1: frightening to think that in the American educational system this
- 33:16Speaker 1: is where we've arrived, and it's angering. I think that
- 33:21Speaker 1: people that are listening and watching are probably on some level,
- 33:24Speaker 1: I mean, there's a lot of people that don't want
- 33:27Speaker 1: to see war happen. War is horrible. Big part of
- 33:30Speaker 1: the reason President Trump was elected was because he didn't
- 33:33Speaker 1: believe in extending, you know, never ending wars. I don't
- 33:38Speaker 1: think he was ever under the impression, nor do I
- 33:40Speaker 1: think he ever gave the impression that he'd be ever
- 33:42Speaker 1: afraid to use actual military strength when necessary. But the
- 33:46Speaker 1: issue is that this is something that is a once
- 33:50Speaker 1: in a lifetime kind of opportunity to topple this dictatorship,
- 33:55Speaker 1: this tyranny really is what the I toldas were and
- 33:58Speaker 1: when they killed thirty five thousand of their own just
- 34:01Speaker 1: weeks before this, Like what other evidence do people at
- 34:05Speaker 1: Arizona State University need to understand the evil that we're
- 34:08Speaker 1: dealing with?
- 34:09Speaker 6: You know, I think we it's it's I stumbled upon
- 34:12Speaker 6: something quite recently that I think goes back perfectly to this.
- 34:15Speaker 6: I think they should talk to the Iranians themselves. I
- 34:18Speaker 6: was in DC a couple of weeks ago, and I
- 34:20Speaker 6: stumbled upon a protest against the Comanian regime that was
- 34:24Speaker 6: being led by Iranians, and they're actually celebrating President Trump's actions.
- 34:28Speaker 6: So here you have Iranians who are celebrating President Trump
- 34:31Speaker 6: and Israel for taking out this brutal, brutal regime. And
- 34:34Speaker 6: then you have left as students who were born and
- 34:36Speaker 6: raised in the United States and now chanting death to
- 34:39Speaker 6: America for this very same thing.
- 34:41Speaker 3: It's disgusting to see that. And you know, the.
- 34:43Speaker 6: Chance, the death to America chance, that is by far
- 34:46Speaker 6: the most infuriating thing.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Are universities.
- 34:48Speaker 6: They're funded by us, by our tax money, and they're
- 34:52Speaker 6: they're just allowing this to happen. It's infuriating and yeah
- 34:55Speaker 6: it makes people angry.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Well, you can read our Campus Reform friends, but I
- 34:58Speaker 1: want here's what I want you to do. If if
- 35:00Speaker 1: you go online and read about this, and then you
- 35:02Speaker 1: have strong feelings about these schools and you're an alumnus,
- 35:06Speaker 1: Endowment departments get people's attention pretty quick, and you need
- 35:10Speaker 1: to let them know that there'll be no more money
- 35:12Speaker 1: coming from you. And then I would petition your your
- 35:16Speaker 1: federal leaders to stop sending moneies to these universities. They
- 35:21Speaker 1: don't need them. Their endowments last well into the future.
- 35:26Speaker 1: I think it would be really wise to put it
- 35:28Speaker 1: into all that. William, thank you for what you're doing
- 35:31Speaker 1: at Campus Reform and come on and see us again
- 35:33Speaker 1: sometime soon.
- 35:35Speaker 4: Thank you so much.
- 35:35Speaker 1: It was great. You got Kevin McCulloch coming right back
- 35:37Speaker 1: over the way.
- 35:46Speaker 7: Let's stick around for more of that Kevin next serving
- 36:00Speaker 7: it up. That's a no drink mintal. It's that Kevin show, all.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Right, Kevin mccallaugh. Glad to have you with us. Welcome back.
- 36:10Speaker 1: I forgot, friends, earlier in the hour, when I was
- 36:13Speaker 1: telling you about food for the poor, I forgot to
- 36:16Speaker 1: mention that you can click through on that kevinshow dot
- 36:20Speaker 1: com to the Food for the Poor banner, which should
- 36:23Speaker 1: be up. You can text the word hunger to five
- 36:27Speaker 1: one five five five. You can also give that way,
- 36:30Speaker 1: or you can call eight five five nine zero seven
- 36:33Speaker 1: four six seven three. And however you give your gift,
- 36:37Speaker 1: if you give it this hour, it will be matched
- 36:41Speaker 1: child for child. So whatever you give, you give one
- 36:44Speaker 1: hundred and fifty dollars. Normally, that would take care of
- 36:46Speaker 1: two children for the entire next year, all the food
- 36:49Speaker 1: and all the water that they need for the entire
- 36:51Speaker 1: next year, two meals a day, all the drinking water
- 36:54Speaker 1: that they can have, and it's clean, it's purified, it's
- 36:57Speaker 1: good for them, it's not nasty. One hundred fIF two
- 37:00Speaker 1: kids for the entire year. But right now someone will
- 37:03Speaker 1: match that if you call, and that's going to double
- 37:06Speaker 1: the impact. You're going to reach four kids instead of
- 37:09Speaker 1: two eight five five nine zero seven four six seven
- 37:12Speaker 1: three eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three.
- 37:15Speaker 1: And I would love to just like do so well
- 37:18Speaker 1: at this friends with you. I would love to make
- 37:20Speaker 1: such a difference with you that we just we blow
- 37:24Speaker 1: away all our all of our fellow talk show hosts
- 37:27Speaker 1: at Salem Media. I know my buddy Mike Gallagher, he
- 37:31Speaker 1: really gets excited about this campaign, and you know, he's
- 37:33Speaker 1: always like talking smack to you, Hewitt and some of
- 37:35Speaker 1: the others about how many, how many kids he feeds
- 37:38Speaker 1: and so forth. I love, I'd love to show him
- 37:42Speaker 1: that real Christians really do care about the impact. And
- 37:47Speaker 1: that's the beautiful thing about Food for the Poor. It
- 37:49Speaker 1: is a Christian ministry that has been in place for
- 37:52Speaker 1: forty five years in these eighteen countries. And you're gonna
- 37:57Speaker 1: not only give food and clean drinking water to that child,
- 38:00Speaker 1: but that child will be introduced to Jesus at the
- 38:02Speaker 1: same time. So eight five five, nine oh seven four
- 38:05Speaker 1: six seven three, and if you call this hour, every
- 38:08Speaker 1: gift we get will be matched unlimited. So doesn't matter
- 38:13Speaker 1: how you give five thousand dollars, you're going to double
- 38:16Speaker 1: that in terms of the food in the water that
- 38:19Speaker 1: reaches and how many children are benefited by that Fords.
- 38:22Speaker 1: It is just going to make such a huge difference.
- 38:24Speaker 1: So please don't put it off. We we have until
- 38:26Speaker 1: the end of April basically to accomplish our goal. I'd
- 38:30Speaker 1: love to hit our goal in the next couple of weeks.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Just have everybody say Okay, let's go, let's do it.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three
- 38:39Speaker 1: eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three.
- 38:42Speaker 1: But seven hundred and twenty children are going hungry today
- 38:46Speaker 1: eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three
- 38:49Speaker 1: eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three.
- 38:52Speaker 1: The next couple of days, I'll have some friends stop by.
- 38:55Speaker 1: We'll talk about it a little bit. But this is
- 38:58Speaker 1: this is part of my show. We do good all
- 39:00Speaker 1: the time. We believe in doing good. We believe. One
- 39:03Speaker 1: of the things I tell my kids when I drop
- 39:05Speaker 1: them off at school in the morning, the last thing
- 39:08Speaker 1: they hear from their dad besides I Love you, is
- 39:11Speaker 1: be good and do good. And I believe that as Christians,
- 39:17Speaker 1: because the Holy Spirit lives within their heart, they have
- 39:19Speaker 1: the ability to be their identity can be good, and
- 39:24Speaker 1: out of that identity, what they do with their actions
- 39:28Speaker 1: can then show that their actions are consistent with their identity,
- 39:32Speaker 1: that they will then do good. But you can't do
- 39:35Speaker 1: it backwards. You can't do good and then become good.
- 39:37Speaker 1: You got to be good and then out of being good,
- 39:40Speaker 1: you do good. And that's what I drill into their
- 39:43Speaker 1: head every single days they're getting out of the car. Okay,
- 39:45Speaker 1: I love you, Your dad loves you. Now be good
- 39:48Speaker 1: and do good today. And they always say the same
- 39:50Speaker 1: thing back, Okay, dad, you be good and do good too,
- 39:55Speaker 1: and that the best. Like I'm getting challenged by my
- 39:59Speaker 1: ten I'm thirteen year old to do the very thing
- 40:02Speaker 1: that I'm challenging them to do. I think that's the
- 40:04Speaker 1: way it's supposed to work, that we spur one another.
- 40:07Speaker 1: What does the scripture say, spur one another on to
- 40:10Speaker 1: love and what good deeds. Let's do that together. Eight
- 40:15Speaker 1: five five nine oh seven four six seven three. Feed
- 40:18Speaker 1: a couple of children for one hundred and fifty dollars
- 40:20Speaker 1: for the next year and give them all the water
- 40:22Speaker 1: that they need. But right now, if you do it,
- 40:23Speaker 1: that would be match dollar for dollar eight five five
- 40:26Speaker 1: nine oh seven four six seven three. Or go to
- 40:28Speaker 1: that kevinshow dot com and took the banner at the
- 40:31Speaker 1: top of the page. Somewhere in the bowels of the
- 40:49Speaker 1: City that Never sleeps. Kevin McCall up, radio host with
- 40:53Speaker 1: Salem Media is a man also not sleeping. Okay, show,
- 40:57Speaker 1: that's Kevin and the call. And then God would like
- 41:00Speaker 1: a word review. Many of you know him when it's
- 41:03Speaker 1: books for Damas.
- 41:04Speaker 4: Of course, that Kevin Show is going to be great.
- 41:06Speaker 9: The only thing that could be greater, of course, would
- 41:08Speaker 9: be That Donald Show, but we don't have that.
- 41:09Speaker 3: So we have That Kevin.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Show featuring the music of Dick Tunny and the Dream in.
- 41:15Speaker 5: Color Orchestraw.
- 41:26Speaker 2: Straight ahead, everything you need to know about the top
- 41:29Speaker 2: headlines of the day, and a perspective that will give
- 41:32Speaker 2: you some externity to it, plus practical tips for family life,
- 41:38Speaker 2: spiritual life, and good old regular life. It's Kenn McCollough
- 41:44Speaker 2: Monday through Friday on That Kevin Show and now from
- 41:54Speaker 2: the Connors in Sullivan Bodcast Studios. The man who is
- 41:58Speaker 2: not what he wants to be, but.
- 42:00Speaker 1: It is way grateful that is not who.
- 42:02Speaker 5: He used to be. Here, all right.
- 42:10Speaker 1: Welcome in, Kevin McCall it.
- 42:11Speaker 2: Glad to have you with us.
- 42:12Speaker 1: It is a well, it's a sunny day in New
- 42:16Speaker 1: York though it's cold, so we were hoping for the fifties,
- 42:19Speaker 1: you know, it's in the low thirties. It's just one
- 42:24Speaker 1: of those weird spring days where you think it's going
- 42:26Speaker 1: to be warm and it doesn't look anything like it.
- 42:29Speaker 1: But having said that, it's warm in my heart knowing
- 42:32Speaker 1: that you're here and that we can help think through
- 42:35Speaker 1: the biggest stories and issues of the day together for
- 42:37Speaker 1: the next couple of hours. We call it that Kevin Show.
- 42:40Speaker 1: That Kevinshow dot com is where you go to get
- 42:43Speaker 1: the podcast, the columns, everything that I talk about. And
- 42:46Speaker 1: I'm very excited about today's column, by the way, and
- 42:49Speaker 1: it's timely, but it's not necessarily newsy. Sometimes I write
- 42:54Speaker 1: about other things that pop into my mind, and I
- 42:57Speaker 1: have a lot of things that pop into my mind
- 42:59Speaker 1: and have in recent days. There are stories that entertain,
- 43:05Speaker 1: and then there are stories that just confront you with
- 43:08Speaker 1: all kinds of conviction and truth. And the life of
- 43:11Speaker 1: Saint Patrick does not to me belong in the shallow
- 43:15Speaker 1: end of cultural celebration. I know today there's going to
- 43:18Speaker 1: be green beer and plastic hats and parades that forget
- 43:22Speaker 1: all the point. But his life is something far more unsettling,
- 43:29Speaker 1: because Saint Patrick didn't just survive evil, he went back
- 43:32Speaker 1: to it. At sixteen, he was stolen from his home,
- 43:35Speaker 1: ripped from his family, dragged across the sea, forced into
- 43:39Speaker 1: slavery in a land that was not his own. He
- 43:42Speaker 1: was not Irish. Ireland was not then the land of
- 43:45Speaker 1: saints and scholars. It was wild and tribal and dangerous.
- 43:50Speaker 1: And he spent years alone, cold, hungry, forgotten, tending sheep
- 43:56Speaker 1: on hills that did not care if he lived or died.
- 43:58Speaker 1: And yet it was there that something happened, not comfort,
- 44:03Speaker 1: not rescue. Faith. In his own words, Patrick writes that
- 44:07Speaker 1: he began to pray constantly, dozens even hundreds of times
- 44:11Speaker 1: a day, not because he was religious, but because he
- 44:14Speaker 1: was desperate. And in that desperation he discovered something that
- 44:19Speaker 1: many of us, with all our conveniences and comforts, rarely
- 44:23Speaker 1: ever grasp, dependence not on strength, not on strategy, not
- 44:31Speaker 1: on self, but dependence on Christ. Years later, he would
- 44:36Speaker 1: pin what has become one of the most enduring declarations
- 44:39Speaker 1: of Christian devotion. Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ
- 44:46Speaker 1: in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on
- 44:53Speaker 1: my right, Christ on my left. It was not poetry
- 44:59Speaker 1: pen for Instagram. It was the language of survival. Eventually,
- 45:03Speaker 1: Patrick escaped, against all odds he made at home. The
- 45:07Speaker 1: nightmare was over, the trauma behind him. The door to
- 45:11Speaker 1: a normal life, safe, familiar, deserved, was wide open, and
- 45:16Speaker 1: This is where the story totally stops making sense, because
- 45:20Speaker 1: instead of moving on, he turned around. He chose to
- 45:25Speaker 1: go back back to the place of his pain, back
- 45:28Speaker 1: to the people who enslaved him, back to the land
- 45:30Speaker 1: that had taken everything from him. Why Because the same
- 45:35Speaker 1: Christ who met him in the valley was now calling
- 45:38Speaker 1: him to walk back into the same valley. That's the
- 45:41Speaker 1: part of the story we don't celebrate enough because it
- 45:44Speaker 1: demands something of us. We live in a culture obsessed
- 45:47Speaker 1: with escape. Get out, move on, cut ties, protect your peace,
- 45:52Speaker 1: build your brand, avoid the hard places and even the
- 45:55Speaker 1: harder people. But Patrick did the opposite, walked toward them,
- 46:02Speaker 1: not with revenge in his heart, but was redemption on
- 46:07Speaker 1: his lips. He returned not as a victim, but as
- 46:11Speaker 1: a witness, And in doing so, he didn't just change
- 46:16Speaker 1: his own story, he changed an entire nation's trajectory. Ireland
- 46:25Speaker 1: would never be the same. Here's the uncomfortable truth. Most
- 46:31Speaker 1: of us want comfort of faith without the cost of obedience.
- 46:36Speaker 1: We love the idea of Christ before me when it
- 46:39Speaker 1: means guidance and blessing and provision. But what happens when
- 46:43Speaker 1: Christ before Me leads us somewhere We would never choose
- 46:46Speaker 1: on our own when I need a perspective bigger than
- 46:49Speaker 1: my pain. That's not safe faith, that's dangerous faith, the
- 46:56Speaker 1: kind that transforms not just individuals, but whole cultures. We
- 47:00Speaker 1: don't know what conversations Patrick had when he first stepped
- 47:03Speaker 1: back into Iris, onto Irish soil. We don't know what
- 47:06Speaker 1: memories came flooding back, what fears tried to take hold,
- 47:10Speaker 1: what doubts whispered in the quiet, But we know this.
- 47:13Speaker 1: He didn't turn back again. He stayed, He preached, he loved,
- 47:18Speaker 1: he forgave, and slowly, steady, impossibly, hearts began to change.
- 47:25Speaker 1: This Saint Patrick's day, the world will celebrate with noise.
- 47:28Speaker 1: But Patrick's life was built in silence, on lonely hillsides,
- 47:33Speaker 1: in whispered prayers, in the unseen decisions of obedience that
- 47:37Speaker 1: no one applauded until everyone did. The question his life
- 47:42Speaker 1: leaves us with is not whether we'll wear green or orange.
- 47:46Speaker 1: It's weather. We'll walk where Christ leads, even when it
- 47:51Speaker 1: costs us, even when it takes us back into places
- 47:55Speaker 1: we swore we'd never go back to, Even when forgiveness
- 48:02Speaker 1: feels impossible and obedience feels unreasonable, because the same Christ
- 48:09Speaker 1: who stands before us is the one who stands within us.
- 48:16Speaker 1: And if Patrick's life proves anything, it proves this. You
- 48:21Speaker 1: don't need perfect circumstances to change the world. If you're
- 48:29Speaker 1: waiting on them, you'll never get them. They will never come,
- 48:36Speaker 1: It will never be the perfect time. Perfect circumstances are
- 48:48Speaker 1: a carot that is chased. They are an imagination that
- 48:54Speaker 1: does not come true. They don't exist in our timeline,
- 49:00Speaker 1: they don't exist in history's timeline. And Patrick's life proved
- 49:05Speaker 1: that you don't need them to change the world. You
- 49:08Speaker 1: need a surrendered heart Christ before me. It's not just
- 49:16Speaker 1: a phrase, it's a direction, and for those who are
- 49:22Speaker 1: willing to follow it, it leads you to a life
- 49:26Speaker 1: that echoes far beyond a single day in the month
- 49:31Speaker 1: of March. Kevin McCullough, if you would like to know
- 49:34Speaker 1: more about that Christ, send me an email that Kevin
- 49:39Speaker 1: Show at gmail dot com. If we don't do anything
- 49:43Speaker 1: else at this microphone, if we never accomplish the passing
- 49:46Speaker 1: of one piece of legislation, if we don't do anything
- 49:50Speaker 1: else here, I'm okay with that. I want you to
- 49:54Speaker 1: know the Christ that goes before and the Christ who
- 49:59Speaker 1: comes behind, and the Christ who is in me, the
- 50:06Speaker 1: Christ who is under the steps that I take. He's
- 50:09Speaker 1: beneath me, he's above me. He's on my right and
- 50:14Speaker 1: my left. I want you to know him too. That
- 50:22Speaker 1: Kevin Show at gmail dot com. If you want to
- 50:24Speaker 1: know more about how that Kevin Show at gmail dot com.
- 50:29Speaker 1: That Kevin Show at gmail dot com, stay with us
- 50:34Speaker 1: a very full life straight.
- 50:53Speaker 5: Here.
- 50:53Speaker 4: He is from New York. That Kevin Kevin mccullor, all.
- 51:01Speaker 1: Right, welcome back. It's that Kevin Show for Tuesday. And
- 51:03Speaker 1: we're very honored to have Katy McFarlane joining us. She
- 51:08Speaker 1: joins us weekly to discuss all things foreign policy, but
- 51:11Speaker 1: specifically military and national security. And kat I think a
- 51:16Speaker 1: lot of good things are going on. I like the
- 51:19Speaker 1: President doing something that nobody's done before, and that is saying, hey,
- 51:23Speaker 1: you other countries that are going to benefit from all this,
- 51:26Speaker 1: get your boats over here too, divvying up some of
- 51:28Speaker 1: the risk and responsibility. Where do you think we are?
- 51:31Speaker 1: Is the Supreme Leader dead? What's going on on the ground,
- 51:34Speaker 1: What are our objectives? What do we have yet to
- 51:37Speaker 1: accomplish before we can start to draw down our presence?
- 51:40Speaker 11: There. Oh, I think he's going extremely well. Yeah, the
- 51:42Speaker 11: Supreme Leader, the first Supreme Leader died the first day.
- 51:46Speaker 11: The second Supreme Leader, nobody's had proof of.
- 51:48Speaker 4: Life of him.
- 51:49Speaker 11: So is he alive? Is he not? Things are issued
- 51:52Speaker 11: in his name?
- 51:53Speaker 12: Who knows?
- 51:54Speaker 11: The other major leader, Lauren Johnny the President, he was
- 51:58Speaker 11: killed yesterday. If they're working their way through the top
- 52:02Speaker 11: tier of leaders military, civilian, and part of the regime,
- 52:06Speaker 11: that's good. The military part of it. They've taken up
- 52:09Speaker 11: the Navy, the Air Force, the nuclear sites, the missile sites,
- 52:13Speaker 11: the missile production sites, the drone the site, the drone
- 52:17Speaker 11: production sites, the command and control so there. Militarily, they're
- 52:22Speaker 11: just doing a terrific job of really completely demilitarizing Iran.
- 52:26Speaker 3: So what's left?
- 52:27Speaker 11: So the straight up our moose, which going back to
- 52:30Speaker 11: the Nixon administration. When I was in the Knixon administration,
- 52:33Speaker 11: we always knew RN's mood would be to try to
- 52:36Speaker 11: seal off the straight up our moves. They try to
- 52:38Speaker 11: do it for Reagan, they try to do it many
- 52:40Speaker 11: times before. So why is the United States not immediately
- 52:44Speaker 11: jumping to our allies aid and opening the street was
- 52:49Speaker 11: because it's not our list of priorities, but it's not
- 52:51Speaker 11: number one list on our priority because we wanted to
- 52:54Speaker 11: do all the things I've just mentioned, and we're doing that.
- 52:56Speaker 11: So when we get we're confident that there's no war,
- 53:00Speaker 11: we're making capability of a run, and I think we
- 53:03Speaker 11: get to the Strait of Hormuz. But like you said,
- 53:05Speaker 11: the President said to our allies, well, come on, guys,
- 53:08Speaker 11: you have ships, you have ships in the area.
- 53:10Speaker 3: Where are you?
- 53:11Speaker 11: And what he doesn't say is, hey, wait a minute, guys,
- 53:15Speaker 11: the shipping that goes through the Straight of Hormones is yours.
- 53:18Speaker 5: It's not.
- 53:19Speaker 11: It's Europeans, Middle East Asia. That's the trade route through
- 53:24Speaker 11: the Straight of the Persian Gulf, Strait of Removes. American
- 53:27Speaker 11: ships aren't going through those routes, I mean one or two,
- 53:30Speaker 11: but it's not our goods and commerce. It's transiting the
- 53:33Speaker 11: Strait of Hormuz. So you would think that the Allies
- 53:36Speaker 11: would jump at the opportunity to help us, help them,
- 53:39Speaker 11: but so far, not only have they refused most of them,
- 53:43Speaker 11: but in many cases they're all trying to cut their
- 53:46Speaker 11: own separate deals, with Iran saying well, you know, let
- 53:49Speaker 11: the French ships in effectively siding with Iran instead of
- 53:53Speaker 11: the United States. I think President Trump will have a
- 53:55Speaker 11: long memory when this is all finished. But I do
- 53:58Speaker 11: think it will be finished within several weeks. And how
- 54:01Speaker 11: could it finish well? Number One, President Trump could just
- 54:03Speaker 11: declare victory today and walk away because he's decimated Iron's
- 54:07Speaker 11: ability to make war.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Well, if we don't need the straight and we've done
- 54:10Speaker 1: everything we set out to do, I think a lot
- 54:12Speaker 1: of people are saying, well, why don't we just do that?
- 54:14Speaker 11: Well? President Trump's argument, and it's the argument that is
- 54:18Speaker 11: a very good one. It's like mowing the grass. You
- 54:21Speaker 11: mow the grass, and you know, you mow the grass.
- 54:24Speaker 11: It's great, good for a bit of time, but then
- 54:26Speaker 11: the grass goes back and you got the same problem
- 54:28Speaker 11: all over again. And what President Trump is saying is
- 54:31Speaker 11: I want to solve this problem now. I don't want
- 54:33Speaker 11: to kick it down the road. I don't want to
- 54:35Speaker 11: have to have my successors deal with it. But he could.
- 54:39Speaker 11: He could easily walk away to Morosa, mission accomplished, and
- 54:42Speaker 11: I've set around back at least ten years in any
- 54:46Speaker 11: of their economic, military, nuclear missile programs. But what he
- 54:51Speaker 11: wants to do is maybe not regime change, in the
- 54:54Speaker 11: sense of kill them all or get rid of them all,
- 54:57Speaker 11: like George Bush did in Afghanistan and a rock. But
- 55:00Speaker 11: maybe it's the regime change Trump style, which is get
- 55:03Speaker 11: rid of the in calcitrant ones, the ones who keep
- 55:07Speaker 11: screaming death to America, and see if there's anybody within
- 55:11Speaker 11: the leadership or elites in the country that would be
- 55:16Speaker 11: willing to work with us, like what happened in Venezuela.
- 55:19Speaker 11: And I think that's what they're doing. You know, you
- 55:21Speaker 11: don't see it, and of course immediate assumes it's not
- 55:24Speaker 11: happening just because they don't see it. But we are
- 55:27Speaker 11: talking to the senior leaders in these countries. We were
- 55:31Speaker 11: talking to the leaders in Iran in Venezuela before the
- 55:36Speaker 11: Maduro raid. We are talking to the senior people in
- 55:39Speaker 11: Cuba right now about what would what would a government
- 55:42Speaker 11: post communists look like? What would a government post Maduro
- 55:45Speaker 11: look like? And I'm assuming that given the fact that
- 55:48Speaker 11: we have far greater intelligence, along with the Israelis, of
- 55:52Speaker 11: what happens in Iran, and we're also talking there.
- 55:55Speaker 1: What what what do you what do you make of
- 55:58Speaker 1: where the Iranian people sit right now?
- 56:00Speaker 11: You don't know, I mean nobody's punk both opinion polls
- 56:03Speaker 11: that anybody can count on and Iran right now, what
- 56:05Speaker 11: is happening on the streets that are run is that
- 56:08Speaker 11: there's a group called the Besiege b A.
- 56:10Speaker 13: S I J.
- 56:11Speaker 11: And they're fogs and guys in motorcycle gangs and they're
- 56:15Speaker 11: quote irregular forces, but they're the goons. They're the goods
- 56:19Speaker 11: who are doing street patrol, and those are the people
- 56:22Speaker 11: who are gunning down any protesters. What they do is
- 56:26Speaker 11: that the Besiege says up these checkpoints on corner street corners,
- 56:30Speaker 11: and if they see anybody who looks like they're going
- 56:32Speaker 11: to protest, or women who aren't weighing the headscarves, they
- 56:35Speaker 11: shoot them or they arrest them. So what are we
- 56:38Speaker 11: doing about that? Well, this is the sort of second
- 56:40Speaker 11: wave of the attacks that we're doing. We can pinpoint
- 56:43Speaker 11: those checkpoints and we can send a missile right to
- 56:47Speaker 11: that place or drop a bomb right at that street corner,
- 56:50Speaker 11: and that eliminates and destroys that checkpoint. So well, that
- 56:58Speaker 11: was not the first that we have now turned to
- 57:00Speaker 11: that in week two. Week one, it was to get
- 57:02Speaker 11: rid of the missile sites and the command and control.
- 57:05Speaker 11: But we're now to the sort of next level of targets.
- 57:07Speaker 11: And we're doing that. At what point does somebody emerge
- 57:13Speaker 11: from either the current regime, say a second tier person
- 57:16Speaker 11: who says enough is enough, or does somebody other people emerge?
- 57:20Speaker 11: As President Trump has said, and this is quite unusual,
- 57:23Speaker 11: he said to the military, lay down your arms, I'll
- 57:26Speaker 11: get the anssy. We would like you to work with
- 57:28Speaker 11: a new government. So I think that we just there's
- 57:32Speaker 11: several options. President Trump hass he can just keep killing
- 57:35Speaker 11: the guys tier one, tier two, tier three until he
- 57:38Speaker 11: gets somebody who says, Okay, I'm willing to work with you.
- 57:41Speaker 11: I want to run back in the new world, the
- 57:44Speaker 11: world economy. We're going to stop our new their program.
- 57:46Speaker 11: We're not going to support the proxies. We're going to
- 57:49Speaker 11: dismantle our highly enriched geranium. And maybe there is that person,
- 57:54Speaker 11: maybe there's not that person.
- 57:55Speaker 4: But it's fluid.
- 57:56Speaker 11: And that's why I think President Trump has so many options,
- 58:00Speaker 11: and he's given himself make some emoptions.
- 58:03Speaker 3: Remember Iran's broke.
- 58:04Speaker 11: They don't have any oil to so they can't sell
- 58:06Speaker 11: their oil.
- 58:07Speaker 4: But we've left.
- 58:08Speaker 11: For example, there's a place called Kerg Island, which is
- 58:11Speaker 11: this tiny island in the middle of the Strait of
- 58:13Speaker 11: Hormuz and its Two things happen there. One is there
- 58:17Speaker 11: military base is there to shoot it any ship that's transitting,
- 58:21Speaker 11: and that we destroyed three days ago. No military operations
- 58:24Speaker 11: on card Island. But Card Island also has a pipeline
- 58:28Speaker 11: going from Iran to the island, and that's where all
- 58:30Speaker 11: the ships that are getting oil. You know that the
- 58:34Speaker 11: oil transit ships are loaded up with oil.
- 58:38Speaker 4: We've left that alone.
- 58:40Speaker 11: And we've left that alone because I think President Trump again,
- 58:44Speaker 11: is he working with the people of Iran or his
- 58:46Speaker 11: people talking to their people or some people with the
- 58:49Speaker 11: idea that then a post Mullah regime could build up
- 58:54Speaker 11: very quickly into as you said, one of the most
- 58:56Speaker 11: prosperous countries in the world.
- 58:57Speaker 1: Yeah, well, that's their history, and I think you still
- 59:02Speaker 1: have some people who are alive forty seven fifty years
- 59:05Speaker 1: ago that remember that. What do you think the role
- 59:08Speaker 1: of the crown princes in this He has volunteered to
- 59:12Speaker 1: help in whatever way he can. Is he useful or
- 59:16Speaker 1: is it still just too insecure in terms of the
- 59:22Speaker 1: math on the ground to be able to bring someone
- 59:24Speaker 1: like that in well as.
- 59:25Speaker 11: President of Shwubs. He's met him several times. He says,
- 59:28Speaker 11: a nice guy's really polite, very earnest. He's got a
- 59:31Speaker 11: comprehensive plan of you know, things like Wendy, you turn
- 59:34Speaker 11: on the lights, Wendy, you turn on the water works.
- 59:36Speaker 11: But he himself a lobby has not been in Iran
- 59:40Speaker 11: for four or five years, so does he have the
- 59:43Speaker 11: connections on the ground that he might need. My guess
- 59:46Speaker 11: is that the the US government, officially or unificially, he
- 59:49Speaker 11: is talking to everybody and they're trying to see, okay,
- 59:52Speaker 11: who might work.
- 59:53Speaker 9: Because remember with.
- 59:53Speaker 11: Venezuela, there was Maria Machado who got the Nobel Prize,
- 59:58Speaker 11: is the opposition leader, and everyone thought, oh, well, Trump
- 1:00:01Speaker 11: is going to support her. She's going to go in.
- 1:00:04Speaker 11: She hasn't been in Venezuela in a number of years,
- 1:00:06Speaker 11: but she's going to go in and be the new government.
- 1:00:09Speaker 11: She was talking to President Trump still is in his team,
- 1:00:13Speaker 11: and I think they concluded that as good as she was,
- 1:00:16Speaker 11: she wasn't up to running the government.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: She didn't have a.
- 1:00:18Speaker 11: Plan, and that's why they were at the same time
- 1:00:20Speaker 11: talking to the Vice president, Maduro's number two, Delsea Rodriguez,
- 1:00:25Speaker 11: talking to her. They were also talking to two.
- 1:00:28Speaker 9: Other rodriguez Is, the brothers of DLCEA Rodriguez, who were
- 1:00:31Speaker 9: heads of the intelligence services, and I forget what else,
- 1:00:34Speaker 9: but they talked to them, and I think that that's
- 1:00:37Speaker 9: when they conclude, Okay, who's capable, who will have the support.
- 1:00:40Speaker 11: Of the people, who will do what we want them
- 1:00:41Speaker 11: to do, and they go from there. So I think
- 1:00:44Speaker 11: that's where we are now. And I don't have a
- 1:00:46Speaker 11: crystal ball to say.
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: Who will be emerged from this, But.
- 1:00:50Speaker 11: We have all the options. We could declare victory walk
- 1:00:52Speaker 11: away tomorrow. We could bomb more of their economic sites
- 1:00:56Speaker 11: and put them back into the Stone Age. We could
- 1:00:59Speaker 11: find some people and around who are willing to work
- 1:01:01Speaker 11: with us and then go forward. I think those all
- 1:01:04Speaker 11: three of those options are very good. And how long
- 1:01:08Speaker 11: will this take?
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: Well, I don't think it takes six months.
- 1:01:11Speaker 11: I think that the conclusions are reached one way or
- 1:01:13Speaker 11: the other within.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: You know, well they certainly were in Venezuela. I think,
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: you know, to realize how relatively calm that is now
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: and how recently that happened two ago, I mean, it's
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: crazy and all right, Katie always appreciate the insights very helpful.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: Thank you, thanks so pleasure.
- 1:01:30Speaker 11: Thank you.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Kevin mccallach. I'm in right fact, don't away.
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: Let's stick around for more of that. Kevin next here
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: he is from New York. Exact Ken Kevin McCullough in
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: Latriae is the.
- 1:02:04Speaker 11: Yes.
- 1:02:04Speaker 12: I always worry about the collisions intens the water.
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: Is the enferment.
- 1:02:10Speaker 12: Sometimes in during winter they get sick, they might get diarrhea,
- 1:02:14Speaker 12: they might get stomach ache, and I believe that is
- 1:02:17Speaker 12: because of the war collisions that they have.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: I don't think that there's anybody on the planet that
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: can argue that being sick from bad water is a
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: bad experience. And if you've ever been in a foreign country,
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: if you've ever been in a place where the water
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: supply is not sound and you've experienced that, you know,
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: just on an average basis, what it is like to
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: be sick from that. But can you imagine that type
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: of water being the only water supply you have. Well,
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: that is the case in thousands of little lives throughout
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: Central and Latin America, South America, Haiti, some of the
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: countries where food for the pores at work. And the
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: reason that we are bringing this to your attention right
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: now is because it is important to know that every
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: one of the children that we help with Food for
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: the Poor this year is not just going to receive
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: a year's worth of food with two meals per day
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: for the next three hundred and sixty five days, but
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: they're going to get clean drinking water. They're going to
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: have access to clean drinking water. Here from Food for
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: the Poor to discuss is Danny Patino who rejoins us
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: and Danny, when I think of contaminated water, I almost
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: think of this as a bigger crisis, a more urgent
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: crisis than the lack of food. It takes you longer
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: to starve to death than it does to drink really
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: bad water and have your whole system be flushed with
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: dehydration and your body rejecting and emptying out of all
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: of the moisture that you have. And this is what
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: Contaminated water leads to deaths from dehydration more than anything else.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: So it's a really, really bad deal. But the fact
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: that we give clean drinking water, access to clean drinking
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: water every one of these kids were helping today, that's
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: really an amazing thing.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: And you said it, that's yourself.
- 1:04:01Speaker 10: It can make you sick and you're already sick, then
- 1:04:04Speaker 10: where do we go?
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: What's the next step? Right?
- 1:04:06Speaker 10: So clean water should be all right, we understand that,
- 1:04:09Speaker 10: but for millions that we serve here at Food for
- 1:04:12Speaker 10: the Poor, it's a risk. And we're talking about water
- 1:04:15Speaker 10: that doesn't quench a thirst. It makes you sick, It
- 1:04:18Speaker 10: creates sickness, and that water steals childhoods. And we heard
- 1:04:23Speaker 10: there are Maria we we met in Guatemala. She just
- 1:04:27Speaker 10: thinks about what's going to make them sick if I
- 1:04:30Speaker 10: drink them water, not the other way around, where I
- 1:04:32Speaker 10: want to quench their thirst and move on with life, right,
- 1:04:36Speaker 10: that we usually do here in the States, because we
- 1:04:37Speaker 10: don't have to think about that kind of water. We
- 1:04:40Speaker 10: probably drink the bottled water that sits in our car
- 1:04:43Speaker 10: in the sun for a couple of days because we
- 1:04:44Speaker 10: know it's clean, we know we can drink it. And
- 1:04:47Speaker 10: that's the kind of luxury that we live here. And
- 1:04:50Speaker 10: by the luxury, I mean it is a luxury for
- 1:04:53Speaker 10: these families that we're helping in Latin America and the Caribbean.
- 1:04:55Speaker 10: And chronic diarrhea isn't just a symptom, it's a thief
- 1:04:59Speaker 10: it's nutrition from hungry children.
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: It steals days from school.
- 1:05:05Speaker 10: Imagine I even being able to go to school because
- 1:05:07Speaker 10: you're sick, and on top of that and not be
- 1:05:09Speaker 10: able to feed your kids to get them back to health.
- 1:05:13Speaker 10: So that way, maybe you can get your routine going.
- 1:05:15Speaker 10: And that routine is broken right away. And this is
- 1:05:19Speaker 10: that strength that withers away on families that are already struggling.
- 1:05:22Speaker 10: And this can be preventable, and it really is.
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: And that's why I'm here.
- 1:05:26Speaker 10: Today to tell you that you can step into those
- 1:05:28Speaker 10: lives of those families with a one time gift, and
- 1:05:30Speaker 10: that one time gift becomes a daily gift for these families,
- 1:05:33Speaker 10: for the children that are already going through malnourishment. This
- 1:05:37Speaker 10: becomes a meal that finally gets them back on their feet.
- 1:05:40Speaker 10: Water that is no longer contamidated. It's safe water. Water
- 1:05:43Speaker 10: they can use for many many other things other than drinking. Finally,
- 1:05:47Speaker 10: you can cook with this, you can bathe with this,
- 1:05:49Speaker 10: you can use it, and you know that it's not
- 1:05:51Speaker 10: going to come back and become something worse. And that's
- 1:05:55Speaker 10: the choice that a parent should not make. They shouldn't
- 1:05:59Speaker 10: Their choices would be what kind of meal are we
- 1:06:01Speaker 10: having today. What cool adventure are we going to go
- 1:06:04Speaker 10: on today? And that's the goal that we were trying
- 1:06:07Speaker 10: to provide with the one time gift that we were
- 1:06:10Speaker 10: asking here, Well, one time gift to one hundred and
- 1:06:12Speaker 10: fifty dollars, Like you said, it becomes a world of change,
- 1:06:15Speaker 10: three hundred and sixty five days of relief for these families.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: If you think about this, friends, and I would really
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: beg of you to consider that one hundred and fifty
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: dollars seventy five dollars per child is not only going
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: to feed them two meals a day for the coming year,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: but that it's going to give them access to clean
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: drinking water. Now do you think they need probably more
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: than eight or sixteen ounces whatever your little water bottle
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: is that you buy, you know, from the vending machine
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: or you get it from the from the Walgreens or
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: wherever you go, you know, and you grab a bottle
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: of water, even if you get it from the Sam's
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: Club or the you know whatever else the discount buyer
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: shop and you get the big crate, they're still what
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: a dollar fifty each or something like that dollar twenty
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: five maybe where you can go imagine having to supply
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: water for a child for an entire year, and they're
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: going to need more than eight ounces a day. They're
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: going to need a lot more than eight ounces of
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: water a day. You're supposed to drink half your body
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: weight in water each day just to be healthy. So
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: think about that and then do that math. You're talking
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: about several hundred dollars just for clean water for one child.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: And here's the thing, this is the beautiful kind of
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: multiplying effect of food for the poor. You give your
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: gift of seventy five dollars for that child, they're going
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: to get over seven hundred meals for the next year.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: And in addition, they're going to get literally hundreds, if
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: not thousands of dollars worth of clean drinking water. When
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: you put a dollar amount on it, when you understand
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: what that cost, what it would cost you to bring
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: it into your home to give to your kids, to
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: have your family, imagine that cost. But imagine now the
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: efficiency of having seventy five dollars provide all of that
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: for one child for the next year. So one hundred
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: and fifty dollars takes care of two kids. Now, listen
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: to me very carefully for the next ten minutes. Every
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: child that we take care of, every seventy five dollars gift,
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: every one hundred and fifty dollars gift that comes in,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: every gift of any size is going to be doubled. Friends,
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: be a miracle in another child's life. Right now eight five, five,
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: nine zero, seven four six seventy three. Text the word
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: hunger to five to one, five fifty.
- 1:08:33Speaker 14: Five, or go to that Kevin show dot com.
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: Here he is from New York. That Kevin Kevin mckellough.
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: Welcome back to Time Square. It's Kevin mccallough, that Kevin Show,
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: that kevinshow dot com now on six hundred and ninety
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: five stations across the country. Thank you for welcoming us
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: into your life at home. With the existence of a
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: global conflict underway and the US part of that, even
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: though we have some other allies involved, Israel and some others,
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: you can always bet that there's going to be an
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: economic impact what's going on when the military is involved. EJ.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: Anthony joins us from the Heritage Foundation. He's their chief ECONOMISTJ.
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: I know that one of the reasons a lot of
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: Americans actually supported President Trump is because he while he's
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: not opposed to using military force, getting us into long
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: standing conflicts is something that he is very much against.
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: We seem to be ahead of schedule. What's the economic
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: impact thus far of this two and a half going
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: on three week.
- 1:09:58Speaker 13: War, Kevin question? Unfortunately not good. We're basically seeing a
- 1:10:05Speaker 13: lot of speculation within the oil market, within the natural
- 1:10:09Speaker 13: gas market, because we simply just don't know how this is,
- 1:10:13Speaker 13: how this is going to turn out. You know, you're
- 1:10:16Speaker 13: talking about an industry where the infrastructure is literally going
- 1:10:20Speaker 13: to take weeks to make changes. What I mean by
- 1:10:23Speaker 13: that is, if you're trying to figure out am I
- 1:10:27Speaker 13: able as an oil exporter in the Gulf, am I
- 1:10:30Speaker 13: able to get oil out of the strait of horror moves?
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: I'm not thinking about today.
- 1:10:35Speaker 13: I'm thinking about two three weeks from now, because that's
- 1:10:38Speaker 13: how long it's going to take, even under emergency procedures,
- 1:10:42Speaker 13: to turn my oil infrastructure off, whether it's the pumps,
- 1:10:45Speaker 13: whether it's the refineries, whatever the case may be. Right, So,
- 1:10:50Speaker 13: people unfortunately are having to make decisions again based on
- 1:10:54Speaker 13: very incomplete information about future events. And on top of that,
- 1:10:59Speaker 13: not only do you have to worry about again oil
- 1:11:02Speaker 13: infrastructure just simply being shut off. But now since oil
- 1:11:05Speaker 13: infrastructure has been targeted in the war, now you're having
- 1:11:08Speaker 13: to worry about it just being flat out destroyed. Then
- 1:11:11Speaker 13: it's not a matter of oil supply returning to the
- 1:11:14Speaker 13: market in a matter of weeks, but months or years
- 1:11:18Speaker 13: to either repair or rebuild things that have been destroyed.
- 1:11:21Speaker 13: So again, unfortunately, the impact here is very negative economically speaking,
- 1:11:27Speaker 13: because it's going to mean higher energy costs, and those
- 1:11:30Speaker 13: higher energy costs trickle down to everything else in the economy,
- 1:11:34Speaker 13: and not only on carg It seems like the US
- 1:11:37Speaker 13: military has avoided the oil infrastructure but pretty much everywhere
- 1:11:40Speaker 13: else in Iran and in.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: The rest region to have something salvageable for whatever comes next,
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: which would make a lot of sense.
- 1:11:49Speaker 13: Right now now President Trump has threatened to destroy all
- 1:11:52Speaker 13: of that oil infrastructure, but thus far, at least, it
- 1:11:55Speaker 13: has simply been Israel and Iran that have been targeting
- 1:11:59Speaker 13: oil infrastructure in the region, with Israel striking obviously targets
- 1:12:04Speaker 13: in Iran and Iran striking targets pretty much everywhere else
- 1:12:07Speaker 13: in the region.
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: When it comes to oil infrastructure.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: What does this do for American producers? Of energy. I
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: happen to be a very small partner in a djbasin
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: company that is trying to increase our footprint all the time.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: How do American energy producers fare during a season like this.
- 1:12:26Speaker 13: Well, you would initially think that any decreases in production
- 1:12:29Speaker 13: out of places like the Middle East would simply just
- 1:12:31Speaker 13: be matched by increases in production everywhere else, and to
- 1:12:34Speaker 13: a certain extent, that's true, but not all crude is
- 1:12:38Speaker 13: created equal. For example, most of the refineries that we
- 1:12:42Speaker 13: have along the Gulf of America are set up to
- 1:12:45Speaker 13: refine heavy crude like what comes out of Venezuela, like
- 1:12:49Speaker 13: what comes out of the Middle East. They're actually not
- 1:12:51Speaker 13: set up to refine the oil that we produce here
- 1:12:54Speaker 13: at home, believe it or not, what we call WTI
- 1:12:57Speaker 13: West Texas Intermedia. Most of that kevin we actually ship
- 1:13:00Speaker 13: abroad to be refined overseas at places that are set
- 1:13:04Speaker 13: up specifically to handle light, sweet crude.
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: And so the issue is that.
- 1:13:10Speaker 13: Even if we were to one for one, replace all
- 1:13:14Speaker 13: of the lost production overseas with increased production here at home,
- 1:13:18Speaker 13: we don't necessarily have the oil infrastructure to handle that,
- 1:13:22Speaker 13: at least not in any way economically.
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: That is discouraging. You mentioned Venezuela kind of key that
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: we have control over their oil choices right now, isn't it?
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: In lifeliness? It certainly helps. It's a great point, Kevin.
- 1:13:38Speaker 13: The only problem with Venezuela is that their infrastructure has
- 1:13:42Speaker 13: been so neglected by the communist regime down there that unfortunately,
- 1:13:47Speaker 13: it's going to take many years for us to actually
- 1:13:50Speaker 13: get that production back to where it was just a
- 1:13:53Speaker 13: matter of a few years ago. Really, because again, we're
- 1:13:57Speaker 13: not talking about an industry where you can turn things
- 1:14:00Speaker 13: on and off with like a light switch.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: Unfortunately, if we do gain control of a reasonable solution
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: in Iran, the leadership there is going to be tend
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: to be, I believe, friendli er to the United States
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: than what we've experienced in the last forty seven years.
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: What will American dominance with Iranian oil, Venezuelan oil, US oil?
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: How does that impact you know, Russia, China, kind of
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: the other people that want to play in the energy
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: game and need large amounts of it.
- 1:14:36Speaker 13: Well, I think it does give the United States a
- 1:14:38Speaker 13: little bit of an edge. You know, there are some
- 1:14:40Speaker 13: folks who say, well, I have no impact at all.
- 1:14:42Speaker 13: Because oil's oil is a global market, and there are
- 1:14:45Speaker 13: other folks who think, well, no, it's going to give
- 1:14:47Speaker 13: the United States complete and total energy dominance.
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: Look, the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:14:52Speaker 13: Yes, it is true that the US having control of
- 1:14:55Speaker 13: more oil supplies is going to give us some leverage.
- 1:14:58Speaker 13: But at the same time, it's not total leverage. It's
- 1:15:00Speaker 13: not as if we're going to be able to shut
- 1:15:02Speaker 13: off all supplies to nations that we don't like, because again,
- 1:15:06Speaker 13: these are global markets, and if they're not buying from Iran,
- 1:15:10Speaker 13: they'll buy from somewhere else. So in other words, we're
- 1:15:12Speaker 13: simply going to redirect certain flows.
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: You know, Russia, Russia's the key player here.
- 1:15:17Speaker 13: I think what's happening right now, unfortunately, has been a
- 1:15:21Speaker 13: total windfall to Putin because we've had to lift sanctions
- 1:15:25Speaker 13: off of Russia so that they are now exporting not
- 1:15:28Speaker 13: only more, but they're exporting at market prices, whereas before
- 1:15:31Speaker 13: under sanctions they were having to essentially do it under
- 1:15:34Speaker 13: the table and sell oil at discount rates. So now
- 1:15:37Speaker 13: they're selling much more oil at much higher prices. Again,
- 1:15:40Speaker 13: that's a windfall to Putin. But to your point, if
- 1:15:42Speaker 13: you bring this additional supply online. What happens will now
- 1:15:46Speaker 13: you depress prices again and that really eats into the
- 1:15:49Speaker 13: financing for Putin's war machine.
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: Yeah, well you can see what happens. EJ. We're going
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: to have to have you back to talk about your
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: twenty twenty six index of Economic Freedom, but just give
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: me the thumbnail. What's the what's the top line news there?
- 1:16:02Speaker 13: Well, I think the top line news is simply the
- 1:16:04Speaker 13: fact that the United States is finally starting to improve
- 1:16:07Speaker 13: when it comes to economic freedom, and that comes from
- 1:16:10Speaker 13: the huge deregulatory effort that we've seen at the federal
- 1:16:13Speaker 13: government over the last year or so.
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: So positive news at least on that front.
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: Yeah, Deregulation's good. Keep them coming as far as I'm concerned.
- 1:16:21Speaker 5: EJ.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Anthony of the Heritage Foundation, Thank you for being with us.
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: Thank you for having me. Kevin.

- 1:17:23Speaker 1: We have a little bit of wood to chop. I
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: believe that we can get there. I would love to
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: get there, you know, before the end of this week.
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: If it was possible. There's one hundred and seventy something
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: children left seventy five dollars each. We'll rescue one and
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: give them two meals a day for the next year
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: and clean drinking water all that they can consume for
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: the foreseeable future. Seventy five dollars will do that at
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three.
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: I also want you to go to another website that
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: kevinshow dot com backslash Heaven. That kevinshow dot com backslash Heaven.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: The reason that I want you to go to that
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: website is because when you go to that page, you
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: can request a kit this Holy season that will guide
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: your thoughts and questions. There'll be a trailer that you
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: can get, there'll be a full length movie that you
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: can get, and there'll be some study questions that go
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: along with it about a story called Heaven, How I
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: Got Here, the story of the Thief on the Cross.
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: We are giving out links and copies of this movie
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: as many as we can, hoping that not only will
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: you watch it yourself, but that you'll invite a friend
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: to watch it. And what you can do is get
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: your watch kit when you go to that website that
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: kevinshow dot com backslash Heaven, that kevinshow dot com backslash Heaven.
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: There's also a link to see the film in more
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: than three dozen languages. As it is now across the world,
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: rapidly expanding and becoming we're raising awareness about it everywhere.
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: But what this story does, basically, the movie tells the
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: story of the ubiquitous character, the Thief on the Cross.
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: He is the man who is crucified next to Jesus
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: on the same day. And you may remember there were
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: two thieves and one cursed Jesus and died and went
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: the way that that goes and the other. This thief
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: started out on that path, but has a recognition when
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: hearing the words that Jesus spoke, and he asked the
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: god of the universe to remember him, and Jesus promised
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: that he would, And what that essentially was was a
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: was a transaction. The thief put his faith in Jesus,
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: and Jesus took him to heaven. He took the thief
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: to heaven. Who was just He was way more than
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: a thief, by the way, because you didn't get you
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: didn't get crucified for being a petty thief. It was
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: a bad guy, terrorist, rapist, murderer. He was a guy
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: that deserved the sentence that he was being given. Next
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: to Jesus. Jesus didn't deserve to die. He did nothing.
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: The reason he died was to take your sin in mind.
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: But he didn't do anything that warranted him being there.
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: But the thief did. And the thief deserved what he got,
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: and he still ended up in heaven. And if that
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: is if that makes you curious, if you're like, how
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: does that even work, you need to watch the movie.
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: It's portrayed by Stephen Baldwin as a one man play
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: that was done. It was shot about twelve years ago,
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: but it's really relevant and I will say it's quite emotional.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: So go to that Kevinshow dot Com backslash Heaven and
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: get your watch kit and then invite some people over
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: this holy season. Watch the film and use the discussion
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: questions and have a conversation about it. Order some pizza.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: Make it fun. That Kevinshow dot Com backslash Heaven, That
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: Kevinshow dot Com backslash Heaven. Do it today. Kevin mccallay
