Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Aragon turned into Marquez Land, a surprise rookie jumped on
- 0:05Speaker 1: a Moto GP bike, and finally the announcement we've been
- 0:09Speaker 1: waiting for. Toprac is heading to Moto GP. From shock
- 0:13Speaker 1: test to silly season chaos, and we have got a
- 0:15Speaker 1: lot to unpack in this episode, so let's get straight
- 0:18Speaker 1: into it. As always, this episode of Pit Talk is
- 0:21Speaker 1: brought to you by Shannon's Insurance.
- 0:23Speaker 2: I'm your host, Rinita.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Vanmullen and joining me as always Matt Clayton. Mat no
- 0:28Speaker 1: silly intros at this time, because we are straight into
- 0:31Speaker 1: facts and you can finally write about top Rac actually
- 0:35Speaker 1: moving into Moto GP.
- 0:37Speaker 3: And this is after me saying a few weeks ago
- 0:40Speaker 3: that I was banning myself writing about him until it
- 0:42Speaker 3: was actually happening, because I feel like I've started this
- 0:44Speaker 3: story about two hundred times and it's never actually amounted
- 0:47Speaker 3: to anything.
- 0:47Speaker 4: But is it funny?
- 0:49Speaker 3: Like we have a Grand Prix weekend where we set
- 0:51Speaker 3: in the lead up that it was probably going to
- 0:53Speaker 3: be very one sided, and then it was very very
- 0:55Speaker 3: one sided, and all of a sudden, there is so
- 0:57Speaker 3: much to talk about because of all the other things
- 1:00Speaker 3: that are happening on the periphery. So yeah, this pod
- 1:03Speaker 3: could go in a million different directions. So I guess
- 1:06Speaker 3: where do you want to start? Because there's plenty of
- 1:08Speaker 3: starting points.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I feel like let's talk about the top Rack news.
- 1:12Speaker 1: That's probably the biggest talking point as of right now
- 1:15Speaker 1: because for us Ozsie's Jack Miller, and we've spoke about
- 1:19Speaker 1: it so many times on the pod. We know he's
- 1:20Speaker 1: only on that one year contract. Top RAC's coming into Parmaha.
- 1:24Speaker 2: I'm hearing rumors.
- 1:25Speaker 1: About Miguel trying to get out of his contract. Now,
- 1:29Speaker 1: what's your take on that? A let's talk about top
- 1:32Speaker 1: Rack coming into Moto GP. How do you think he's
- 1:34Speaker 1: going to go? Because some people are saying, oh, the
- 1:37Speaker 1: writing style is so different from superbikes Tomoto GP. But
- 1:41Speaker 1: it's top Rack, right, it's the man who's just dominated
- 1:45Speaker 1: in superbikes.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Well, you say a house top Rac going to go
- 1:48Speaker 3: A should be? You've just said Pramaha. So everyone taking
- 1:51Speaker 3: shots at home, please feel free to down your first
- 1:53Speaker 3: one for the evening.
- 1:54Speaker 4: But look top Rack in MotoGP.
- 1:57Speaker 3: This is super intriguing because it's been like this great
- 2:00Speaker 3: unknown for years. We know how good he's been in
- 2:02Speaker 3: world superbikes, and it's not just that he wins there,
- 2:05Speaker 3: it's how he wins.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Like.
- 2:07Speaker 3: The guy's a showman, he's a stylist, he does it
- 2:10Speaker 3: his own way. He's got fantastic celebrations. He's got this
- 2:14Speaker 3: enormous fan base from a part of the world that
- 2:17Speaker 3: you know, we've not had a massive amount to cheer
- 2:19Speaker 3: about in the past. It's going to bring a new
- 2:21Speaker 3: dynamic to Moto GP. It's interesting to me that I
- 2:25Speaker 3: don't know how old is too old for a rider
- 2:27Speaker 3: to make a switchlight this. But he's twenty eight. It's
- 2:29Speaker 3: not like you're talking about a twenty two year old here.
- 2:31Speaker 3: So yeah, he's a mega talent. He's been a mega
- 2:34Speaker 3: talent in a production bike series. And anyone expecting this
- 2:38Speaker 3: guy to walk into Moto GP and be awesome from
- 2:40Speaker 3: day one, I think that's a little bit optimistic, and
- 2:43Speaker 3: it probably depends on where your passport comes from or
- 2:46Speaker 3: who you're supporting these things. But I don't I think
- 2:48Speaker 3: it's fanciful to think that he's going to come in
- 2:50Speaker 3: and just be right on it right away against the
- 2:53Speaker 3: best riders in the world on very very different motorcycles.
- 2:57Speaker 3: I think that's the first thing, he's going to be excited.
- 3:00Speaker 3: He's going to probably bend a few bikes along the way,
- 3:03Speaker 3: let's be honest, because that happens with these really fast
- 3:05Speaker 3: guys that come in from other series. But it adds
- 3:08Speaker 3: another injection of adrenaline into twenty twenty six. And I say,
- 3:14Speaker 3: why that's important is that because we've got this rule
- 3:16Speaker 3: change coming in for twenty twenty seven, which is kind
- 3:18Speaker 3: of this hard reset for MotoGP that we've been talking about.
- 3:21Speaker 4: For a while.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Twenty twenty six to me kind of feels like an
- 3:24Speaker 3: extension of last year and this year it's going to
- 3:27Speaker 3: be decaty domination. Is everyone going to start turning the
- 3:30Speaker 3: development tap off on a thousand cc rule set that's
- 3:33Speaker 3: going to be obsolete at the end of the year.
- 3:35Speaker 3: There's no point developing lots of arrow and ride height
- 3:37Speaker 3: devices because they're all.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Going in the bin anyway.
- 3:40Speaker 3: So I kind of feel like twenty five and twenty
- 3:42Speaker 3: six will kind of meld into one when we look
- 3:44Speaker 3: at it in the future. The key thing for Razgatlioglu
- 3:47Speaker 3: coming in now, I think it's really smart by Yamaha
- 3:50Speaker 3: because he gets to learn the circuits, he gets to
- 3:53Speaker 3: learn the tires, he gets to learn how motor GP
- 3:55Speaker 3: weekend works, and there's not necessarily going to be the
- 3:58Speaker 3: pressure of expectation because he's coming in riding a bike
- 4:01Speaker 3: that's not a race winning bike, because Yamaha hasn't won
- 4:04Speaker 3: a race since twenty twenty two, So it's not like
- 4:07Speaker 3: people are expecting him to come in and be like,
- 4:09Speaker 3: you better be in the top four in the World Championship.
- 4:11Speaker 3: That's not going to happen. I think the key thing
- 4:14Speaker 3: is he gets all the He'll get the l plates
- 4:17Speaker 3: off next.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Year if you like.
- 4:18Speaker 3: So when we hit twenty twenty seven, with the ground
- 4:20Speaker 3: running and this sort of reset playing order, he's going
- 4:23Speaker 3: to be just as experienced as everybody else. He's not
- 4:25Speaker 3: going to be so far behind as you would be
- 4:27Speaker 3: as you came in in twenty seven. So I think
- 4:29Speaker 3: it's smart by Yamaha to come in. But the other
- 4:32Speaker 3: side of the coin for this, of course, is that
- 4:35Speaker 3: you know, Yamaha's got four bikes now, four riders. Fabio
- 4:37Speaker 3: Quatrero is the kingpin of the whole thing. He is
- 4:41Speaker 3: their shining light. We've seen this year that as Yamaha
- 4:43Speaker 3: has improved, if we ever needed to be reminded how
- 4:46Speaker 3: good Fabio is. Like he's given us a bit of
- 4:48Speaker 3: a reminder this year for anyone that might have lost
- 4:50Speaker 3: the faith. He's the leader of this project. And an
- 4:54Speaker 3: interesting part about Razcatlioglu coming in, even if they necessarily
- 4:57Speaker 3: wanted to put him in the factory team next to Quatroa,
- 5:00Speaker 3: there's a clash of sponsors. Rasquatlioglu is personally sponsored by
- 5:04Speaker 3: Red Bull. Of course it is the Monster Energy Yamaha
- 5:06Speaker 3: Motor GP factory team, so that doesn't work. So he
- 5:11Speaker 3: was always going to come in with Pramak. Now you've
- 5:14Speaker 3: got this really interesting situation where Pramak has two riders
- 5:18Speaker 3: who are new for this year. Miguel Olivera is on
- 5:20Speaker 3: a two year contract and has been injured or not
- 5:24Speaker 3: very good for the most part that he's been there.
- 5:26Speaker 3: And Jack Miller's on a one year contract because he
- 5:29Speaker 3: was the last rider signed on the grid for this year.
- 5:31Speaker 3: So Yamahad had frankly all the leverages, like Jack would
- 5:34Speaker 3: have taken whatever they offered him in September last year.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Jack's been really good this year, and I think this
- 5:40Speaker 3: time last year you had to put your patriotic Australian
- 5:44Speaker 3: had on to really come up with a reason why
- 5:46Speaker 3: Jack Miller should stay in Motor GP, because his final
- 5:48Speaker 3: year with Katie it was pretty ordinary. There was absolutely
- 5:52Speaker 3: no doubt he was going to be replaced by Pedro
- 5:54Speaker 3: Acosta on about nine two of the season Big Guitar.
- 5:57Speaker 3: It felt like that was pretty much inevitable. It's a
- 6:00Speaker 3: little bit fortunate to be on the grid this year,
- 6:02Speaker 3: but that owes itself to Pramak, can you him. He's
- 6:05Speaker 3: vastly experienced with a number of different manufacturers, Pramak Yamaha
- 6:09Speaker 3: as much as an established brand and an established team.
- 6:12Speaker 3: It's a bit of a startup, right, so they needed
- 6:14Speaker 3: Jack's experience and his ability technically to drive them forward.
- 6:20Speaker 4: I actually think.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Jack's been really good this year, where last year he wasn't,
- 6:23Speaker 3: and he absolutely deserves to stay on the grid for
- 6:26Speaker 3: twenty twenty six given what's coming in twenty seven is
- 6:28Speaker 3: what we were talking about. But of course you've got
- 6:30Speaker 3: this contract situation. Jackson one year, Miguel's on two, and
- 6:34Speaker 3: so is it as easy as just saying, well, Miller
- 6:37Speaker 3: is going to be the guy that this is out
- 6:38Speaker 3: here because he's got the shorter contract tenure. I'm sure
- 6:41Speaker 3: you heard some stuff in Aragon over the weekend, as
- 6:43Speaker 3: I heard from Afar. It's not as simple as that,
- 6:46Speaker 3: by the sounds, isn't.
- 6:48Speaker 1: No. I'm hearing a lot of rumors about Miguel trying
- 6:51Speaker 1: to get out of his contract as well, But then
- 6:54Speaker 1: spending time with Jack on the weekend, and you're talking
- 6:56Speaker 1: about what he was like at KTM last year. We
- 6:58Speaker 1: interviewed him here.
- 6:59Speaker 2: For Fox Sports, and it.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Seems like to me, spending some time with Jack this weekend,
- 7:05Speaker 1: his whole mental, his outlook, everything is.
- 7:08Speaker 2: So much more positive.
- 7:09Speaker 1: I spoke about it in Thailand as well, and that
- 7:11Speaker 1: was the season open. I now where eight rounds in
- 7:14Speaker 1: and Jack is still this positive, happy guy. It seems
- 7:18Speaker 1: like Pramak is the been the switch that he needed.
- 7:21Speaker 1: But it's that one year contract looming.
- 7:24Speaker 4: Then.
- 7:24Speaker 1: On the other point, and this is something I want
- 7:26Speaker 1: to ask you matter is you know, Pramak do have
- 7:28Speaker 1: the riders in Moto two as well, so are they
- 7:30Speaker 1: going to want to try and bring those riders up
- 7:34Speaker 1: through to Moto GP. But now they've signed top Racks,
- 7:37Speaker 1: so there's a lot going on in that aspect too.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Yeah, they need about six four bikes, don't they at
- 7:41Speaker 3: this point, but I think with the Moto two team
- 7:44Speaker 3: that was clearly establishing that team is something for the future.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Now for the future in inverted commas is this sort
- 7:49Speaker 3: of nebulous How far are we going into the future here?
- 7:52Speaker 3: So they've got Tony Ablino who's been around for a while,
- 7:54Speaker 3: and east At Cuavaro, who's super, super young and has
- 7:57Speaker 3: pedigree as a Moto three champion. I still believe they're
- 8:00Speaker 3: the future, but that future might be pushed back a
- 8:02Speaker 3: little bit now. I can still see Guevara is the
- 8:05Speaker 3: one for me. I think we'll see him in Motor GP,
- 8:07Speaker 3: but it might take him another two or three years
- 8:09Speaker 3: to get there, which I think is fine because he's
- 8:11Speaker 3: still young enough. The key thing for me, and you
- 8:13Speaker 3: probably heard this over the course of the weekend, it
- 8:15Speaker 3: seems like there's a clause in the Olivera contract that
- 8:19Speaker 3: Yamaha can basically a null that second year of his
- 8:22Speaker 3: contract if he is the last place of Yamaha's four
- 8:25Speaker 3: riders in the championship at the end of this season.
- 8:29Speaker 3: So there'll be a cutoff point in this season where
- 8:31Speaker 3: they have to make that decision. You look at the
- 8:33Speaker 3: championship standings right now, Quatarero is a leading Yamaha by
- 8:36Speaker 3: some distance. Jack is the second best place Yamaha, ahead
- 8:39Speaker 3: of Alex Ritz and then Miguel Olivera. As we've said,
- 8:42Speaker 3: he's missed three rounds, but he scored so few points
- 8:44Speaker 3: in the rounds that he has been there, and Olivera
- 8:47Speaker 3: kind of acknowledged that over the Aragon weekend basically saying, look,
- 8:50Speaker 3: you know, I need to perform. I need to perform now.
- 8:53Speaker 3: And it wouldn't surprise me. With these contract clauses, a
- 8:56Speaker 3: lot of them kicking around the mid season break where
- 8:58Speaker 3: we get that break after the checker public it probably
- 9:01Speaker 3: gives Olivera, what four more rounds to actually do something.
- 9:05Speaker 3: He's a long long lay behind Rins and Miller in
- 9:09Speaker 3: terms of not being the last Yamaha rider in the standing.
- 9:12Speaker 3: So you know, these contracts, as we know from Juje Martin,
- 9:15Speaker 3: there's always lines in them that you never expect to
- 9:17Speaker 3: come out. But that might be the thing that moves
- 9:21Speaker 3: Olivera on. But you probably during the week I wrote
- 9:25Speaker 3: for Fox Sports dot com dot Au that it's a
- 9:28Speaker 3: little tough on Miguel Okay and he's proven to be
- 9:31Speaker 3: a grand Prix race winner. I still think in the
- 9:33Speaker 3: right day, in the right circumstance, he's still a very
- 9:35Speaker 3: good motor GP rider. You do wonder about these contracts
- 9:39Speaker 3: because I look at Alex Rinns and Alex Rins is
- 9:43Speaker 3: a fantastic motor GP rider when he's at his peak.
- 9:46Speaker 3: But when he's at his peak is the key part
- 9:48Speaker 3: of that sentence. Alex Rins has been either injured or
- 9:51Speaker 3: recovering from injury for basically two years Magello twenty twenty
- 9:54Speaker 3: three when he broke his legs basically two years ago
- 9:56Speaker 3: this week.
- 9:57Speaker 4: And I think, if I remember.
- 9:59Speaker 3: My own story, which I we should given that I
- 10:00Speaker 3: wrote it, I think he's been in the top ten
- 10:02Speaker 3: three times since then in two years, and he's mister
- 10:05Speaker 3: heaper racers. I think he's out quite qualified quatro four
- 10:09Speaker 3: times in two years as teammates. And you had these
- 10:12Speaker 3: races recently when Fabio is on Pole and rinses in
- 10:15Speaker 3: q Q one. It's too big of a gap between
- 10:18Speaker 3: two riders on the same bike. And you know, Alex
- 10:21Speaker 3: Renz proved himself as a guy who could win races
- 10:23Speaker 3: with Suzuki and with Honda and fully fit is a
- 10:26Speaker 3: fantastic manor GP rider, but fully fit and Alex Rerins
- 10:29Speaker 3: is not two things you're saying in the same sentence
- 10:31Speaker 3: these days.
- 10:32Speaker 4: It's really really harsh, But.
- 10:33Speaker 3: You do wonder if he's ever going to get back
- 10:35Speaker 3: to being what he was, where someone like OLIVERA to
- 10:38Speaker 3: me is still like a TVC because we don't have
- 10:40Speaker 3: enough evidence of whether he can do anything on a
- 10:42Speaker 3: Yamaha yet.
- 10:43Speaker 4: Because it's been super disjointed.
- 10:44Speaker 3: So in terms of the three riders that could be
- 10:47Speaker 3: potentially under the pump here, to my mind on performance,
- 10:51Speaker 3: Jack should be the safest of the three because I
- 10:53Speaker 3: think he's over delivered or what Yamaha expected of him
- 10:56Speaker 3: this year. OLIVERA is inconclusive because he's been hurt and
- 10:59Speaker 3: there's the form line with Rins that it doesn't look
- 11:03Speaker 3: like it's going up. He's sort of stuck where he is,
- 11:05Speaker 3: and I think he's just so physically limited these days.
- 11:07Speaker 3: So wherever Yamaha go, I think all three of those
- 11:10Speaker 3: guys are worthy motor GP riders, and maybe Oliver or
- 11:14Speaker 3: Rins if it's one of those two, can find a
- 11:16Speaker 3: seat elsewhere. There's going to be seats around because that's
- 11:19Speaker 3: how motorgp works. I think Jack's actually a lot safer
- 11:22Speaker 3: this year that he was last year. He's pretty lucky
- 11:25Speaker 3: to be on the grid this year. I think it
- 11:27Speaker 3: would be a bit of a travesty if he's not
- 11:29Speaker 3: for next year, given what he's brought to Yamaha, and
- 11:32Speaker 3: as you said, he seems completely reinvigorated this year. He's
- 11:36Speaker 3: a different person a different personality. Yamaha really enjoying what
- 11:40Speaker 3: he's bringing. And you look at how competitive Yamaha is
- 11:44Speaker 3: this year compared to the last couple. You can't tell
- 11:46Speaker 3: me that Jack's fingerprints aren't on part of that resurgence
- 11:50Speaker 3: for them. I think he's a huge asset for them,
- 11:52Speaker 3: and I think he should stay.
- 11:54Speaker 1: I think for our listeners, don't necessarily include Aragon, because
- 11:57Speaker 1: we know Aragon's a track that just doesn't suit the Yamaha.
- 12:01Speaker 1: They struggle here. I think Fabruary post on his Instagram
- 12:04Speaker 1: they haven't. He hasn't scored points here in the last
- 12:06Speaker 1: four years. Something ridiculous like that, right, So remove aragonau
- 12:10Speaker 1: the situation. Yeah, Yamaha are on the resurgence. My question
- 12:15Speaker 1: is kind of to Yamaha and to you as well.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Matt Okay Alex Rins. If you see him walking around
- 12:21Speaker 1: the paddock, he has this like compression sleeve on his leg.
- 12:25Speaker 2: He's like sop on his calf. He's limping.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Why is he not taking a page out of Mark
- 12:32Speaker 1: and Jorge Martin's book of resting, recovering properly and then
- 12:36Speaker 1: trying to come back to fight, Because Yeah, like you
- 12:39Speaker 1: said about Alex Rins, is kind of like Maverick Vinalez
- 12:42Speaker 1: where you just have like this spark of okay, he's
- 12:45Speaker 1: doing really well, but then he's dropping back.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Why is he not recovering or why is he not moving.
- 12:51Speaker 1: To a test writer position where he could be a
- 12:54Speaker 1: bit more beneficial.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Yeah, you have to. You do have to wonder.
- 12:57Speaker 3: I think the key to that is, you know, we
- 12:59Speaker 3: talk about Jello twenty twenty three. So he won that
- 13:02Speaker 3: race at Cota for Honda, that elsr win, which came
- 13:05Speaker 3: from kind of nowhere at the start of twenty three,
- 13:07Speaker 3: broke his leg at Magello and probably tried to come
- 13:10Speaker 3: back too quickly. He'd already signed for Yamaha to be
- 13:13Speaker 3: Quattroro's teammate for twenty four at that point, and it's
- 13:17Speaker 3: almost like he came tried to come back too fast
- 13:20Speaker 3: in order to prove that he was the right man
- 13:22Speaker 3: for the job. I still vividly remember this because it's
- 13:24Speaker 3: a Philip Island memory. You know this, from the paddock
- 13:27Speaker 3: up to the media center at Phillip Island. I actually
- 13:29Speaker 3: counted the number of steps because I was watching Alex
- 13:31Speaker 3: try and negotiate them on crutches at the time. I
- 13:33Speaker 3: think it's seventeen steps from the paddack up to the
- 13:35Speaker 3: media center or something along those lines at Phillip Island.
- 13:38Speaker 3: And I wrote about it that weekend. The hardest thing
- 13:41Speaker 3: he did that entire week ken was get up the
- 13:43Speaker 3: steps to go to do the press conference and get
- 13:45Speaker 3: down the steps again on these crutches. And you mentioned
- 13:47Speaker 3: the brace that he wears on his leg. He only
- 13:49Speaker 3: ditched the crutches at the start of this year. I
- 13:50Speaker 3: think it was Argentina that he finally got rid of
- 13:52Speaker 3: the crutches. So he's not been right for basically two
- 13:55Speaker 3: full calendar years. He's a really, really good motor GP rider.
- 13:59Speaker 3: But you do wonder, like you said, Martine's taking his time,
- 14:02Speaker 3: Marquez took his time.
- 14:04Speaker 4: Rinz might have rushed back too.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Quickly for reasons that we just detailed back in twenty
- 14:09Speaker 3: twenty three, and he's kind of still paying the price
- 14:11Speaker 3: for it a little bit because he's just not the
- 14:13Speaker 3: rider that he was. I mean, this is a rider
- 14:15Speaker 3: who went toe to toe with Mark Marquez several times
- 14:19Speaker 3: in Grand Prix, including Australia in twenty twenty two as
- 14:21Speaker 3: Suzuki was winding down, and beat Marquees in a head
- 14:25Speaker 3: to head fight a couple of times.
- 14:26Speaker 4: Did it?
- 14:27Speaker 3: Silverstone as you remember back when he was at Suzuki,
- 14:29Speaker 3: really really talented rider. But I don't know if that
- 14:32Speaker 3: guy's there anymore, just simply because physically he can't be
- 14:35Speaker 3: that same rider anymore.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you've hit the nail on the head.
- 14:39Speaker 1: And then that leads me to the question is is
- 14:41Speaker 1: it just holding onto a seat because of the fact
- 14:44Speaker 1: of holding onto a seat or could some of these
- 14:46Speaker 1: younger rookies like Bramak who have that Moto two bike
- 14:49Speaker 1: sorry Moto two team can then start bringing riders through.
- 14:53Speaker 2: But we're not team owners. Where just speculating here.
- 14:56Speaker 1: There's so many if buttson wins, But there's these little
- 14:58Speaker 1: things that I've seen over the weekend, Like I said
- 15:00Speaker 1: about Alex who's still limping, and you're like, how are
- 15:02Speaker 1: you mustling a Moto GP bike around Aragon, which does
- 15:05Speaker 1: have quite a lot of elevation. Yeah, we're going to
- 15:07Speaker 1: Magello next that has even more elevation.
- 15:10Speaker 2: How are you doing that?
- 15:11Speaker 1: Struggling off so many unanswered questions, but the question that
- 15:16Speaker 1: we knew was going to get answered this weekend was
- 15:19Speaker 1: Mark Marquez absolutely dominating Aragon. What can I say, leading
- 15:24Speaker 1: all sessions and beating his own record, which I thought
- 15:26Speaker 1: was hilarious the way Meto GP had it on the
- 15:28Speaker 1: screen of Mark Marquez has beat Mark Marquez at his
- 15:32Speaker 1: own record of leading every single session since twenty fifteen.
- 15:37Speaker 1: What do you say to that? It's Marquees Aragon, is
- 15:40Speaker 1: markez Land?
- 15:41Speaker 3: It is I mean, what's one of six eighty clockwise
- 15:46Speaker 3: tracks on the calendar, So it's Rightney's wheelhouse. We know
- 15:48Speaker 3: that we know how good he is there because we
- 15:50Speaker 3: saw that the previous year on that surface that was
- 15:53Speaker 3: like a skating rink and he's on a two year
- 15:55Speaker 3: old Decatti and making everyone look ridiculous. But there were
- 15:57Speaker 3: two parts of the weekend for me, I'll go three parts.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Friday morning practice. I think he was eight tenths of
- 16:03Speaker 3: a second faster than everybody else, which is just you
- 16:05Speaker 3: look at the time sheets and go, yeah, okay, here
- 16:07Speaker 3: we go the sprint race where he didn't get a
- 16:10Speaker 3: very good start and drop back to fourth, and when
- 16:13Speaker 3: I'll just overtake it. If everybody had clear off, that'll
- 16:15Speaker 3: be fine to go win the sprint race. But in
- 16:18Speaker 3: the actual Grand Prix, and you were to see this
- 16:20Speaker 3: on Sunday, cruising out front, got the start right led
- 16:23Speaker 3: from the start, and he said, as the laps were
- 16:26Speaker 3: counting down, he started thinking about Austin where he was
- 16:29Speaker 3: in the lead, and he dropped it and scorned at
- 16:31Speaker 3: a heap of points. So just because he could not,
- 16:34Speaker 3: because he had to, he decided to go set a
- 16:37Speaker 3: new circuit lap record with three laps to go on
- 16:39Speaker 3: twenty one lap old tires, just to basically keep himself
- 16:43Speaker 3: fully focused. And it was completely planned. It's like I'm
- 16:45Speaker 3: just going to attack here to see if i can
- 16:47Speaker 3: set the fastest lap to make sure I stay in
- 16:49Speaker 3: my race rhythm and I don't sort of button off
- 16:52Speaker 3: mentally or start cutting a few corners or what have you.
- 16:55Speaker 3: He was going to be locked in right the way
- 16:57Speaker 3: to the end. Because of a previous race where he
- 16:59Speaker 3: thrown some away and I thought, that's just a classic
- 17:02Speaker 3: insight into what Mark is like. He's aware that he's
- 17:05Speaker 3: now starting to wander mentally, like, don't do what he
- 17:07Speaker 3: did in Austin. Don't do what you did in Austin.
- 17:10Speaker 3: So he did the opposite of what he did in
- 17:11Speaker 3: Austin and decided to go and break a circuit record
- 17:13Speaker 3: because he could. And that just shows you that. I mean,
- 17:16Speaker 3: he basically rolled out on the last lap of one
- 17:18Speaker 3: by a second and a bit, but if he was pushing,
- 17:21Speaker 3: that felt like a five seven eight second whatever he
- 17:24Speaker 3: wanted it to be win because a combination of the
- 17:27Speaker 3: best bike on the grid and Mark Marquez and this track,
- 17:29Speaker 3: there was just this inevitability about it the whole weekend,
- 17:34Speaker 3: and you could almost argue right that Alex Marquez was
- 17:36Speaker 3: almost like the biggest winner of the weekend because on
- 17:39Speaker 3: a weekend where he wasn't in the same post code
- 17:41Speaker 3: as his brother, he only actually lost eight points over
- 17:44Speaker 3: the course of the weekend, it felt like eighty eight
- 17:46Speaker 3: points given that Mark was in his own race. So
- 17:48Speaker 3: Alex has done kinde of well, really, he did the
- 17:50Speaker 3: best he could to only lose points to his brother
- 17:53Speaker 3: and managed to beat everybody else. But I'm sure you
- 17:56Speaker 3: were there. I mean, there was a huge Marquez grandstand
- 17:59Speaker 3: there just on the off the corner where the wall
- 18:01Speaker 3: is there. They were having the best time of their
- 18:03Speaker 3: lives and it was nice to see the Marquers were
- 18:05Speaker 3: celebrating afterwards. But the whole thing felt like it was
- 18:08Speaker 3: kind of predetermined as suit as Friday practice started, didn't
- 18:11Speaker 3: it for.
- 18:13Speaker 2: The listeners just a little insight.
- 18:14Speaker 1: I did a vlog for the Fox Sports YouTube channel
- 18:17Speaker 1: that I'm calling the Marquez Effect because.
- 18:20Speaker 2: I'm going to show you just how many.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Mark Marquez and Alex Marquez fans there are in Aragon
- 18:25Speaker 1: and if you've only ever experienced Philip Island, this is
- 18:28Speaker 1: going to give you an insight to what Matt was
- 18:30Speaker 1: saying is I got up close when the riders were
- 18:33Speaker 1: doing their lap around the circuit and awesome the Marquees grandson.
- 18:37Speaker 1: They had a live MC there who was hyping the
- 18:40Speaker 1: crowd up. Mark and Alex came up with the T
- 18:42Speaker 1: shirt guns and watching. I actually watched some of the
- 18:46Speaker 1: practice sessions from that corner because it's really interesting near
- 18:49Speaker 1: the wall as they come up and over and head
- 18:51Speaker 1: back down the elevation again. And every time Mark or
- 18:55Speaker 1: Alex were on track, stepping in and out of their
- 18:58Speaker 1: pit garage.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Wherever you were, you.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Knew that Mark and Alex were there because you would
- 19:02Speaker 1: just here the crowd raw at any time of the day.
- 19:06Speaker 1: So the Marquez brothers are literally the biggest celebrities there
- 19:10Speaker 1: are in that part of the world, which was crazy,
- 19:13Speaker 1: but we obviously know that. Yeah, Mark was just in
- 19:18Speaker 1: his own post cred as you said. One thing we
- 19:20Speaker 1: spoke about though in the pre preview pod was you
- 19:22Speaker 1: said that you started to see this is where the
- 19:25Speaker 1: twenty five GP would start to expand in the GP
- 19:28Speaker 1: twenty four.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Ward State workers.
- 19:30Speaker 1: We didn't really see that this weekend, though, did we,
- 19:32Speaker 1: Because we saw Morbidelli and Aldiger and all these guys
- 19:36Speaker 1: were battling and they were up the front. It's just
- 19:38Speaker 1: the fact that it was Mark Marquez being Mark Marquez.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Yeah, complete race for second place really, So, I mean
- 19:44Speaker 3: it's one of those tracks that it's a decading track
- 19:47Speaker 3: at the best of times, and then it's like it's
- 19:49Speaker 3: Marquees in like category one and then everyone else sort
- 19:52Speaker 3: of behind that. I mean, Franko Morberdelli really good qualifying
- 19:56Speaker 3: for It's the best qualifying he's had for a long time.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Faded a bit in the Grand Prix, but the twenty
- 20:00Speaker 3: fives weren't quite as strong here as maybe I suspected
- 20:04Speaker 3: they might be. But we talked about this a little
- 20:06Speaker 3: bit offline before we started. I reckon that that podium
- 20:09Speaker 3: for Pekabanyai on Sunday might be a super interesting result
- 20:14Speaker 3: to monitor from here, because he did something super different
- 20:18Speaker 3: with that bike on Sunday. Saturday was an absolute disasters
- 20:21Speaker 3: twelfth in the sprint, and the other five decaddies were
- 20:24Speaker 3: all the top six, so he was in this category
- 20:27Speaker 3: of absolutely nowhere, and it's just an extension of how
- 20:30Speaker 3: his season has gone. It feels to me like they
- 20:33Speaker 3: might have unlocked something for him on Sunday, which was
- 20:36Speaker 3: a really really random thing that we can get into
- 20:39Speaker 3: which might be the world's longest podcast, but I'll try
- 20:41Speaker 3: and keep it short. But it feels that Banyai had
- 20:44Speaker 3: a result on Sunday that was worth more than just
- 20:46Speaker 3: your average third place finish because you saw him after
- 20:48Speaker 3: the race. He doesn't usually get that fired up about
- 20:50Speaker 3: finishing third. I mean, he's won thirty Grand Breeze. The
- 20:53Speaker 3: way he runs. He was super excited to finish third
- 20:56Speaker 3: because I think he reckons he found something, don't you think?
- 21:00Speaker 2: I think so.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Match And you know you spoke recently on Fox sports
- 21:05Speaker 1: dot comdo for Slash Motorsport where you said that there's
- 21:08Speaker 1: some internals, there's some changes that have happened in Peko's bike,
- 21:12Speaker 1: and there's been some talks. We've heard Ta Doozzi saying
- 21:17Speaker 1: to Jack Appleyard and these guys, you know that they
- 21:19Speaker 1: found something, They found something with Peco whatnot. I heard
- 21:23Speaker 1: some little whispers about potentially it was like the rear
- 21:26Speaker 1: right height device the weight had shifted, so he was
- 21:29Speaker 1: struggling and that's why we're seeing so many front end crashes.
- 21:32Speaker 1: But yeah, what do you know, because you're looking at
- 21:34Speaker 1: me like you've got some inside got here?
- 21:36Speaker 4: Yeah, a little bit.
- 21:37Speaker 3: So I wrote a couple of weeks ago about this.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Two things about the twenty five that are different to
- 21:41Speaker 3: the twenty four Ducatti without getting super granular here, it's
- 21:45Speaker 3: the engine internals are different, and the weight distribution of
- 21:48Speaker 3: where they are and the bike.
- 21:49Speaker 4: Is different, and the rear ride.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Height device is much more towards the front of the bike,
- 21:52Speaker 3: but it's also lighter. So Banniol's biggest problem all year
- 21:56Speaker 3: is he uses the word feeling all the time. I
- 21:58Speaker 3: don't have the feeling, have the feeling, and he doesn't
- 22:02Speaker 3: have the confidence on the front end of the bike
- 22:03Speaker 3: in corners. You often see him run wide or he's
- 22:06Speaker 3: not as good in breaking because he's an awesome late
- 22:09Speaker 3: breaker as we've seen over the past couple of years.
- 22:11Speaker 3: He doesn't have the confidence in that, and turns out
- 22:14Speaker 3: that on race day at Aragon it was a bit
- 22:17Speaker 3: of a hail mary I reckon. They through the biggest
- 22:21Speaker 3: break discs you can possibly use in motor GP. That
- 22:24Speaker 3: through fifty five millimeter break discs into the front of
- 22:26Speaker 3: Banyai's bike. Normally you're running three forties, so he's gone
- 22:29Speaker 3: the heaviest possible break disc These are the brakes that
- 22:32Speaker 3: you use at something like Motegi, which is all like
- 22:35Speaker 3: long straights in the ninety degree corners, long straights in
- 22:37Speaker 3: the ninety degree corners. What that's done and a hatsip
- 22:41Speaker 3: here to Simon Patterson from the race of digging this
- 22:43Speaker 3: out from Brembo. The bigger caliber break discs are about
- 22:47Speaker 3: four hundred grams heavier than the ones that are lighter.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Four hundred grams doesn't sound like a lot, nearly half
- 22:52Speaker 3: a kilo, but all that weight's on the front of
- 22:54Speaker 3: the bike, and Banyai the whole year has said, I
- 22:57Speaker 3: don't have feeling at the front. I don't have feeling
- 22:58Speaker 3: at the front. Yes, you're running a heavier break disc,
- 23:01Speaker 3: but it's redistributed the weight to the front of the bike,
- 23:04Speaker 3: which is where he's wadded it the entire year. And
- 23:07Speaker 3: so you go in twenty four hours. He was hopeless
- 23:10Speaker 3: in the sprint, to the point that he's back dealing
- 23:12Speaker 3: with Jack Miller after Jack and had his run in
- 23:14Speaker 3: with Juan Mier. And it was interesting because Jack after
- 23:18Speaker 3: the sprint spent the entire sprint sitting right behind Banyai,
- 23:21Speaker 3: which is you would not expected to catty at a
- 23:23Speaker 3: Yamaha at Aragon to be in the same piece of
- 23:25Speaker 3: real estate. And Jack was like, I don't recognize the
- 23:28Speaker 3: way Peco's riding, Like he's riding in a completely different way.
- 23:31Speaker 3: His body's not hanging off the side of the bike
- 23:33Speaker 3: like it normally does. And Jack's like, I know Peco
- 23:37Speaker 3: better than anybody on the grid.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Because they were.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Teammates for four years and Jack knows exactly how Peko rides,
- 23:42Speaker 3: and he's looking at him thinking, I don't recognize this.
- 23:44Speaker 3: I've not seen this before, and this is Peco trying
- 23:47Speaker 3: not to lose the front on every single court and
- 23:49Speaker 3: that's why he was so dog slow. I think he's
- 23:51Speaker 3: fourteen seconds behind Mark Mecmarquez in eleven laps.
- 23:54Speaker 4: That's dreadful.
- 23:56Speaker 3: Fast forward twenty four hours he finished two seconds behind
- 23:58Speaker 3: his teammate and on the podium twenty four hours later
- 24:02Speaker 3: after they'd run the bigger break discs. And I'm going
- 24:05Speaker 3: into a long piece on this for Fox Sports dot
- 24:06Speaker 3: com dot Au that's going to run on Thursday, Australian time.
- 24:10Speaker 3: But you do have to wonder whether they found something here.
- 24:13Speaker 3: And you know we always say motorsport, right, there's no
- 24:15Speaker 3: magic bullets with this thing, like, there's not just you click,
- 24:18Speaker 3: can't click your figures and everything gets better. But maybe
- 24:20Speaker 3: they have clicked their figures and they've found something here.
- 24:23Speaker 3: It's a pretty random left field solution. But the thing
- 24:26Speaker 3: for me, and we talk about this offline before what
- 24:29Speaker 3: are the next two races? Migello Asen, who's one at
- 24:33Speaker 3: Magello the last three years Peco Van who's one at
- 24:35Speaker 3: Assen the last three is Peko Vanyaya. And you remember
- 24:38Speaker 3: particularly Asen, there's some of those weekends it's a bit
- 24:41Speaker 3: like Marquez Aragon.
- 24:42Speaker 4: It's like west Pecker.
- 24:43Speaker 3: Oh he's six seconds in the lead, you just don't
- 24:45Speaker 3: see him for the entire weekend. So if they've really
- 24:48Speaker 3: found something on this bike, if he goes out and
- 24:51Speaker 3: wins at Magello, we know how good he is there.
- 24:53Speaker 3: If he goes out and beats Mark on a red
- 24:55Speaker 3: Ducat at home at Migello this World Championship, he's probably
- 25:01Speaker 3: too far behind Mark to win the title unless Mark
- 25:04Speaker 3: helps him by falling off a couple of times, which
- 25:05Speaker 3: Mark can do from time to time. But it's certainly
- 25:08Speaker 3: going to be interesting because I think there are races
- 25:10Speaker 3: later in this season where we know there's tracks where
- 25:13Speaker 3: Peko is just about unbeatable when he's been Peco Vanyaya.
- 25:17Speaker 3: We haven't seen heaps of that this year so far
- 25:19Speaker 3: in eight rounds, but it doesn't mean that it's not coming.
- 25:21Speaker 3: And if he's got this bike balance right, whether that
- 25:25Speaker 3: transfers across from Aragon, which is not a great circuit
- 25:28Speaker 3: for him anyway, if he can make it work at Magello,
- 25:30Speaker 3: if he can make it work at Asen, then doesn't
- 25:32Speaker 3: that add a wrinkle that we didn't see coming to
- 25:34Speaker 3: the end of the season because it was pretty much
- 25:36Speaker 3: one way traffic before ARAGLV, wasn't it.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it was the Marquez Brothers show. But yeah, I
- 25:41Speaker 1: think you have Peco Banyai back in. Ultimately, then we'll
- 25:44Speaker 1: go back to what I said where you mentioned the
- 25:48Speaker 1: gap between the GP twenty fives and GP twenty four's
- 25:50Speaker 1: is going to become more realistic. Yep in seeing that
- 25:54Speaker 1: though we know Diggia is on the GP twenty five
- 25:57Speaker 1: as well, and just looking at the results from the weekend,
- 25:59Speaker 1: he was P. Nine, So it's as much the bike
- 26:03Speaker 1: as it is the rider on the bike.
- 26:05Speaker 2: And if the rider on the bike is.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Peco Banyaya and all his eyes are dotted and his
- 26:09Speaker 1: teas across and he's comfortable, that's when we're going to
- 26:12Speaker 1: see him that closer to the top. But so, yeah,
- 26:16Speaker 1: if your podium on Sunday was a Ducad dominated podium,
- 26:19Speaker 1: we knew that, but looking at P four, Pedro Acosta
- 26:22Speaker 1: made a surprise appearance, and it seems like every debrief everything.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Like I heard from Pedro on the weekend, He's still
- 26:30Speaker 1: just saying I'm not happy. I'm not happy, And I
- 26:32Speaker 1: feel like that's just Pedro's tagline at the moment. But
- 26:36Speaker 1: I mean a P four from a KTM where the
- 26:39Speaker 1: next KTM I'm just looking at the results was Anaya
- 26:43Speaker 1: Bastianini in twelve. You think that's a big jump. And
- 26:47Speaker 1: Brad Binda, we know he's this is not his strongest
- 26:50Speaker 1: circuit either, and he had a DNF. But Petro Costa
- 26:53Speaker 1: P four that's not too bad for a KTM.
- 26:55Speaker 3: No, not at all, And it's interesting like Binda was
- 26:58Speaker 3: running quite high in the Grand Prix until crashed. Vignales
- 27:02Speaker 3: ended up crashing and I think he was the last
- 27:03Speaker 3: classified rider, but I think he said his fastest lap
- 27:06Speaker 3: with a broken bike or the last lap of the race,
- 27:08Speaker 3: because Averick Vignalez just filed that in the Maverick Vidales
- 27:10Speaker 3: file like we always do. But interesting with a Costa
- 27:14Speaker 3: because you remember he was on the podium at Aragon
- 27:17Speaker 3: last year. Now that owed itself to a little bit
- 27:19Speaker 3: of Alex Marquez, Peco Vannyaya running over each other in
- 27:23Speaker 3: the gravel nonsense.
- 27:24Speaker 4: Later in that race, he.
- 27:25Speaker 3: Wouldn't have been on the podium otherwise, but it's been
- 27:28Speaker 3: generally a pretty good track for him through the junior classes.
- 27:31Speaker 3: And something that's interesting now is we always think of
- 27:33Speaker 3: the DECADI as being the grid's fastest bike right through
- 27:37Speaker 3: the speed traps. These days, generally speaking, it's a KTM
- 27:39Speaker 3: that's the top of the top of the speed traps.
- 27:41Speaker 3: There's nothing wrong with the straight line speed of a KTM.
- 27:44Speaker 3: You know, the quartering stuff's a bit of an issue
- 27:45Speaker 3: from time to time. But what do we have at
- 27:47Speaker 3: aragon A one kilometer back straight and you could just
- 27:51Speaker 3: see like a Costa was right in the fight with
- 27:54Speaker 3: Banyaya early in that race, simply because Peko would gap
- 27:57Speaker 3: him in the first two thirds of the lap and
- 27:58Speaker 3: then this KTM would unleash it self out of that
- 28:00Speaker 3: third last quarter and all of a sudden they be
- 28:02Speaker 3: back on there again. So it's going to be a
- 28:04Speaker 3: bit circuit specific for a cost I'd be curious to
- 28:07Speaker 3: see how they go at Magello, which is you feel
- 28:10Speaker 3: the bike's always just turning or doing something at Magello
- 28:12Speaker 3: with the elevation change and the fact that you're very
- 28:15Speaker 3: rarely upright in a straight line on that track, even
- 28:17Speaker 3: the start finished straight's got the huge undulation is that
- 28:20Speaker 3: goes over the crest there, So it might be a
- 28:22Speaker 3: bit of a one off, but there's not been heaps
- 28:24Speaker 3: of good news for Katie of this year. Let's be honest,
- 28:26Speaker 3: and a Costa goes from being half grumpy to fully
- 28:29Speaker 3: grumpy most of the time. So he was only half
- 28:31Speaker 3: grumpy on the weekend because he finished fourth, But a
- 28:34Speaker 3: cost of being a costas like, are you happy you
- 28:36Speaker 3: finished fourth? No, I wanted to finish third. That's pretty
- 28:38Speaker 3: much whatever you give him. If it's not a weird
- 28:40Speaker 3: he's probably not going to be that thrilled about it,
- 28:42Speaker 3: But considering where they've been lately, that's a very good.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Result for them, very good result.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Looking at some of the other manufacturers in the top ten,
- 28:50Speaker 1: it leads me to micro Bitzeki on.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Prillia, which also then leads me to the.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Shock announcement of Mano Gonzales testing with track House on Monday,
- 29:01Speaker 1: something that I was totally oblivious to, And to be honest,
- 29:05Speaker 1: when that announcement got made, you could see a lot
- 29:07Speaker 1: of the journalists in the media sense of going, oh, okay, this.
- 29:10Speaker 4: Is really happening.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Yeah, inside word from someone at trackhouse.
- 29:15Speaker 2: So this is a Prillier driven and not.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Trackhouse driven, which I thought was very very interesting.
- 29:21Speaker 2: But then what was Manu.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Two seconds off off the fastest on on Monday.
- 29:27Speaker 4: Decent?
- 29:28Speaker 3: Pretty decent, I thought, for a guy who's never ridden
- 29:30Speaker 3: murder GP bike before and had absolutely no way to
- 29:32Speaker 3: prepare for this, he was just thrown in the deep
- 29:34Speaker 3: end at the very very last last minute. You know,
- 29:36Speaker 3: it was super interesting. You say it was a prillier
- 29:38Speaker 3: thing and not a track house thing. Who looks after trackhouse.
- 29:42Speaker 3: It's Davide Privio, right, and he's got this awesome track
- 29:46Speaker 3: record of finding rough diamonds or guys that might not
- 29:49Speaker 3: necessarily be ready a Moto two and bringing them up
- 29:52Speaker 3: into Moto GP. He was a guy that bought Maverick
- 29:54Speaker 3: vinalez in. He was the guy that bought Alex rins In.
- 29:56Speaker 3: He was a guy who bought Juan mir In. They've
- 29:58Speaker 3: all won races, mirrors of world champion. If you get
- 30:01Speaker 3: the nod of approval from David A. Brivio, you're probably
- 30:03Speaker 3: doing something right. And so, I mean, Gonzales has clearly
- 30:07Speaker 3: been the guy in Moto two this year he's had
- 30:10Speaker 3: a couple of rope rounds, the last couple, but yeah,
- 30:13Speaker 3: a left field test. I like it when these guys
- 30:15Speaker 3: get thrown in the deep end with very little prep
- 30:17Speaker 3: because Motor GP and motorsport generally it's all about simulators
- 30:21Speaker 3: and data and getting yourself as completely ready as possible.
- 30:24Speaker 3: Sometimes they can go are you free on Monday? Do
- 30:26Speaker 3: you fancy riding one of these? And of course if
- 30:28Speaker 3: you've made a Gonzales you're going to say where do I?
- 30:31Speaker 3: Sighn and let me add it? And he would have
- 30:32Speaker 3: had the best day of his life. Quite what that
- 30:34Speaker 3: does to his Moto two riding Once we get to
- 30:36Speaker 3: the next track, of course he's going to have to
- 30:37Speaker 3: relard everything again. But if you're him, it was a
- 30:40Speaker 3: complete no lose situation, right, you can get on the
- 30:43Speaker 3: bike and look really good and impress some people. Yeah
- 30:46Speaker 3: there's not a spot for him on the grid yet,
- 30:48Speaker 3: but there will be people looking at that going huh.
- 30:51Speaker 3: He handled that quite well with absolutely no preparation. And
- 30:54Speaker 3: Moto two is such a jungle to try and get
- 30:56Speaker 3: out of to get to Moto GP. Any chance you
- 30:58Speaker 3: get you got to take it. So interesting decision by Aprilia,
- 31:01Speaker 3: and I thought he acquisted himself pretty well.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Well if you were looking at the results from Monday's tests,
- 31:09Speaker 1: no surprise there. Maverick Vignalees was fastest.
- 31:13Speaker 2: He is the test.
- 31:15Speaker 1: But to be honest, they were actually lapping quicker than
- 31:18Speaker 1: what they were during Sunday's race. In saying that, because
- 31:22Speaker 1: I was on the ground for Sunday's race when the
- 31:24Speaker 1: race was actually.
- 31:25Speaker 2: On, it was hot, so true, temperatures were through the roof.
- 31:29Speaker 1: So in doing this, you know, some of these these
- 31:32Speaker 1: lap times that they could have been doing it early
- 31:34Speaker 1: in the morning, they could have been doing it late afternoon.
- 31:36Speaker 1: We're not like, you know, it does change, the weather
- 31:38Speaker 1: does change that there. But one thing I found interesting
- 31:41Speaker 1: from the test was that someone posted on Instagram saying, ah,
- 31:45Speaker 1: is there Italians working at KTM now because they were
- 31:47Speaker 1: testing KTM were testing a new front firing design that
- 31:51Speaker 1: was literally a copy and paste of the GP twenty five.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Did you see that, Matt? Do you see the photo?
- 31:56Speaker 4: Did? Yeah? I did.
- 31:57Speaker 3: It's one of those things that Decadi will say it's
- 31:59Speaker 3: a being paste and Katie em will say, I know,
- 32:01Speaker 3: we were inspired by what they were doing it. There's
- 32:04Speaker 3: no copying and pasting here. We thought yours was good
- 32:06Speaker 3: and we decided to build our own version.
- 32:09Speaker 4: You love these.
- 32:10Speaker 3: In any top line motorsport, there's always some guy with
- 32:12Speaker 3: a camera that's wandering up and down pit lane, or
- 32:14Speaker 3: they're wandering up and down all agree before the race,
- 32:16Speaker 3: like taking a bit of a sneaky look at what
- 32:18Speaker 3: everyone else is doing.
- 32:20Speaker 4: And you know, the what is it? The imitation is
- 32:23Speaker 4: the sincereous form of flattery. Right.
- 32:25Speaker 3: If you're making something that's good and everyone wants it,
- 32:27Speaker 3: then you'll start seeing variations of your bike on other
- 32:30Speaker 3: people's bikes. What they're basically saying is you do it.
- 32:32Speaker 3: A great job, guys, keep it going. But yeah, it
- 32:34Speaker 3: is funny, isn't it. There's no secrets in this sport.
- 32:37Speaker 2: There was no secrets in this sport.
- 32:39Speaker 1: At the race on the weekend as well, Augusto Fernandez
- 32:42Speaker 1: was filling in a wild card for Yamaha, and what
- 32:44Speaker 1: we learned was Augusto was trialing a new engine that
- 32:49Speaker 1: they seemed to be really happy with. So then Augusto
- 32:52Speaker 1: didn't take part in Monday's test as he was getting
- 32:54Speaker 1: prepared for a private test with Yamaha. Rumor is now
- 32:58Speaker 1: the engine that Augusto was using during Sunday's race and
- 33:01Speaker 1: all weekend is now going to be the new version
- 33:03Speaker 1: of the engine that Fabio and Alex and Jack and
- 33:06Speaker 1: Miguel are going to be using for the rest of
- 33:09Speaker 1: the season. But let's talk about Honda as well, because
- 33:12Speaker 1: Honda this weekend. Yeah, Juan Miir was I think P
- 33:16Speaker 1: nine on Sunday so strong for Juan. But Zarko having
- 33:20Speaker 1: come from such a high the previous two races to
- 33:24Speaker 1: just nowhere this weekend. We kind of spoke about it
- 33:27Speaker 1: before in the preview that yet this is a track that.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Maybe wasn't going to suit them.
- 33:32Speaker 1: But it's looking like during Monday's tests that Zarko felt
- 33:36Speaker 1: like he'd made progress once again. But this is something
- 33:38Speaker 1: we keep hearing from him. Yeah, we're making progress. We're
- 33:40Speaker 1: making progress, right.
- 33:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:42Speaker 3: I think it's funny with Hondra and Yamaha, they're coming
- 33:44Speaker 3: from so far back right that we see any sort
- 33:47Speaker 3: of sign of progress like a Zarko win or a
- 33:50Speaker 3: bunch of coaturo poles. Oh, they're back, they're back. They've
- 33:53Speaker 3: still got a long way to get back back. There's
- 33:56Speaker 3: gonna be flashes, and I think that's the way those
- 33:58Speaker 3: two are going to be this season. There's going to
- 34:00Speaker 3: be some weekends where they're kind of anonymous, you know.
- 34:03Speaker 3: Zak I'd come off back to back podiums and so
- 34:05Speaker 3: it was a massive fallback for them, and obviously the
- 34:08Speaker 3: factory Honda team only had the one rider with Luca
- 34:11Speaker 3: Marini being out, and it sounds like Marini might be
- 34:13Speaker 3: out for quite some time by what you're hearing around
- 34:15Speaker 3: the place. But hat tip to Juan Meir who absolutely
- 34:20Speaker 3: fuming with Jack Miller on Saturday and he's incredulous Juan
- 34:24Speaker 3: Meir style. But seventh place on Sunday in the race,
- 34:28Speaker 3: best result I think since India, remember the one off
- 34:32Speaker 3: Indian Grand Prix where I melted in twenty twenty three.
- 34:35Speaker 3: He was actually really quite good and I think he was.
- 34:37Speaker 3: It was quite funny afterwards, a he was relieved he
- 34:39Speaker 3: didn't crash. We didn't get the Joan mir writer okay
- 34:42Speaker 3: graphic up on the screen, but he was saying it
- 34:44Speaker 3: was nice to overtake people and then not have them
- 34:47Speaker 3: come straight back.
- 34:48Speaker 4: Past you again.
- 34:49Speaker 3: It was just sort of funny how he mentioned that,
- 34:51Speaker 3: like he was super fired up after finishing seventh, which
- 34:53Speaker 3: quite frankly, if you'd given that guy seventh three years ago,
- 34:56Speaker 3: he would have looked at you like, I want more
- 34:58Speaker 3: than that. But my god, it's been desper of him.
- 35:00Speaker 3: He's a good rider. We just haven't seen him stay
- 35:03Speaker 3: aboard his bike long enough in the past few years
- 35:06Speaker 3: to actually do something about it. But on the whole,
- 35:09Speaker 3: a pretty bla weekend for Honda, a very bla weekend
- 35:12Speaker 3: for Yamaha. But like you said before, Aragon's a bit
- 35:15Speaker 3: of an outlier. I don't think that's going to continue.
- 35:18Speaker 3: They will be inconsistent because they're coming from so far back,
- 35:20Speaker 3: and there will be flashes. But yeah, Aragon was one
- 35:23Speaker 3: best forgotten I think for both of them.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Yes, and for the listeners or the viewers at home.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Maybe you thought the Aragon Moroto GP race was a
- 35:32Speaker 1: little boring. Look, I kind of agree with you on
- 35:34Speaker 1: that because it was the Mark Marquez Show. But if
- 35:38Speaker 1: you tuned in to Moto two and Moto three, boy,
- 35:41Speaker 1: go with that. We were talking off I know, we
- 35:44Speaker 1: keep saying that because we have this catch up before
- 35:46Speaker 1: we come on talking about everything that happened, Let's talk
- 35:49Speaker 1: about the Moto two prodium. A Turkish writer a Brazilian
- 35:53Speaker 1: writer and a Belgian writer. The Brazilian writer was on
- 35:56Speaker 1: poll When do you ever hear of a non Italian
- 35:59Speaker 1: or a Spanish writer at least somewhere in the top
- 36:02Speaker 1: three and taking pole in a Motor GP race.
- 36:04Speaker 4: Yeah, so true.
- 36:05Speaker 3: It sounds like the start of a bad joke, doesn't it,
- 36:07Speaker 3: Like a Turk of Belgium and a Brazilian walked into
- 36:10Speaker 3: a bar. Insert your own punchline. But yeah, it was
- 36:12Speaker 3: just so nice to see some new faces up there.
- 36:15Speaker 3: And the last lap of that race, which I do
- 36:18Speaker 3: I'd had to admit I did watch about three times.
- 36:20Speaker 3: I still don't know how Dennis Onchu won that because
- 36:23Speaker 3: you see them coming into the last corner, Well, that's nice,
- 36:25Speaker 3: it's going to be a close finish, and that's done.
- 36:27Speaker 3: And then you see the photo finish which they put
- 36:29Speaker 3: up on the screen, and it was what one third
- 36:32Speaker 3: of the width of a wheel, like it was absolutely
- 36:34Speaker 3: crazy if that race had finished one meter earlier than
- 36:37Speaker 3: Marera's won his first Grand Prix. So yeah, super fun
- 36:40Speaker 3: result Moto two. Funnily enough, the last couple of rounds
- 36:44Speaker 3: meant obviously ceterageous. Winning at Silvester was pretty dramatic at
- 36:47Speaker 3: the end. It's almost served up the best race of
- 36:49Speaker 3: the day for the last couple of Grand Prix, which
- 36:51Speaker 3: is not something we often say about Mono two motors
- 36:53Speaker 3: has been actually pretty interesting this year. Often you get
- 36:55Speaker 3: these races that are pretty strung out, but certainly the
- 36:58Speaker 3: last couple have been super fun. But like you said,
- 37:01Speaker 3: like you just keep waiting for the Italian or the
- 37:03Speaker 3: Spanish national anthem and neither of them are happening. It's like,
- 37:06Speaker 3: that's weird. But it was super fun though, And Marrera
- 37:09Speaker 3: looks like a guy who might be particularly with Brazil
- 37:12Speaker 3: coming onto the calendar, and it'd be great to have
- 37:14Speaker 3: a writer from that part of the world. He's a
- 37:16Speaker 3: guy whose name you would not be surprised at all
- 37:19Speaker 3: to see in the Motor GP conversation before too long,
- 37:22Speaker 3: because he's pretty fast and pretty good so early in
- 37:25Speaker 3: his career.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Like I just mentioned the flags and I pulled up
- 37:29Speaker 1: the result, So yes, Santa was fourth Australian Phillips a
- 37:32Speaker 1: latch Czech Republic.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Then it's the first.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Italian, a sorry, Spanish of Aaron Connett. Then we go
- 37:38Speaker 1: to the American of Joe Roberts. So yeah, we are
- 37:40Speaker 1: seeing this multi cultural like a blend coming in.
- 37:44Speaker 4: Yeah, we foundations of the World Championship Love.
- 37:47Speaker 1: Yeah, Gonzales had a terrible qualifying. I was actually in
- 37:51Speaker 1: Senna's box when that happened and the crash and just
- 37:54Speaker 1: didn't have time to return. But otherwise it just feels
- 37:57Speaker 1: like this season kind of has just been the Gonzales
- 37:59Speaker 1: show with him just running away and you can see why
- 38:02Speaker 1: he's been off at this little ride, it's little test
- 38:05Speaker 1: in Moto GP. But then let's go further down to
- 38:09Speaker 1: Moto three. And I want to touch on Joel Kelso
- 38:11Speaker 1: because I spent a lot of time with him this weekend.
- 38:13Speaker 2: He showed me around.
- 38:14Speaker 1: The track, gave me some pointers for when I make
- 38:17Speaker 1: my Moto three debut, which is going.
- 38:21Speaker 2: He gave me some good pointers for.
- 38:23Speaker 1: The track, and he was talking about this weekend and
- 38:26Speaker 1: he said, look, this weekend for me, I'm aiming for
- 38:29Speaker 1: a top.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Five because this is a track that I feel it is.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Not my strength. And one thing I noticed, and I
- 38:38Speaker 1: don't know if you guys saw on the Fox Sports
- 38:40Speaker 1: YouTube where I did my track walk with Joel as
- 38:42Speaker 1: I mentioned that Joel for me, seems like he's looking
- 38:47Speaker 1: at things really differently. Now he's he's learning to take
- 38:50Speaker 1: away from the positives but also the negatives and what
- 38:53Speaker 1: he can learn on. So the sitting there and dwelling
- 38:55Speaker 1: on it and getting really down in himself. And actually
- 38:58Speaker 1: saw him after the race and I said, like, that
- 39:01Speaker 1: was awesome, Like, you know, you got a good start,
- 39:03Speaker 1: you were consistent.
- 39:04Speaker 2: He goes, yeah, he goes, but I know, Magello, I'm
- 39:06Speaker 2: going to be a lot stronger at and I'm really
- 39:08Speaker 2: looking forward to that.
- 39:09Speaker 1: And I think this is we spoke about so many
- 39:11Speaker 1: times for Joel. Compared to the last year, Joel would
- 39:14Speaker 1: be so strong for the first half of the race
- 39:16Speaker 1: and then he drop off. Now we're seeing him progressively consistent.
- 39:20Speaker 1: And if that consistency means it's a P seven for
- 39:22Speaker 1: him like it was here in Aragon, then he's taking
- 39:25Speaker 1: away the positives for that.
- 39:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:27Speaker 1: But let's talk about that Motor three race as well,
- 39:29Speaker 1: because we had the Aspah boys taken each other out.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Then we had all that drama, all the.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Overtaking, the what we love about Moto three, right the
- 39:39Speaker 1: slip streaming, everything. Joel was telling me about that and
- 39:42Speaker 1: the last race. But then we go back to the
- 39:45Speaker 1: old Spanish podium. How's the maximum Kielez though, I mean
- 39:51Speaker 1: the Mark Marquez little prodigy that's coming through right.
- 39:54Speaker 3: Oh yeah, he's He's a guy who's making a name
- 39:57Speaker 3: for himself pretty quickly, isn't he. He's a super we're
- 40:00Speaker 3: exciting super motor GP at most tracks. Is you know
- 40:03Speaker 3: you hide behind the couch on the last lap just
- 40:05Speaker 3: in case something might happen, and certainly an hour ago,
- 40:07Speaker 3: like where's this going in the last lap? But super
- 40:10Speaker 3: enjoyable race. The thing you mentioned about Joel before, and
- 40:14Speaker 3: you know we've known this because we've spoken to him
- 40:16Speaker 3: for a bunch of years. Now, I reckon it feels
- 40:18Speaker 3: like he's aged about three years in the last twelve months.
- 40:20Speaker 3: And I don't mean that in a negative way. There's
- 40:22Speaker 3: this maturity and belief, and you know he's an experienced
- 40:26Speaker 3: motor three head now and I don't reckon he gets
- 40:29Speaker 3: too high or too low with stuff. He's just really
- 40:31Speaker 3: balanced now as a person, and you see the way
- 40:34Speaker 3: that translates into his riding.
- 40:36Speaker 4: He's grown up fast.
- 40:37Speaker 3: You know, he's been a motor three for a little
- 40:39Speaker 3: while now, before it was this, Well, that's nice that
- 40:41Speaker 3: he's got to result and what have you. But he
- 40:43Speaker 3: now knows that he's good enough to fight at the front.
- 40:45Speaker 3: The results tell you.
- 40:46Speaker 4: That he is.
- 40:47Speaker 3: He's really matured into a front line Motor three rider.
- 40:51Speaker 3: And what you just said then about you know, that's
- 40:54Speaker 3: a great result, Aragon. He's already thinking ahead to somewhere
- 40:56Speaker 3: where he's going to be stronger.
- 40:58Speaker 4: That's not what last year.
- 40:59Speaker 3: He would have been fuming about something, or he would
- 41:01Speaker 3: have been taken it really badly and taken a few
- 41:03Speaker 3: days to come down from it. Now he's got this
- 41:06Speaker 3: sort of thirty five thousand foot view where he looks
- 41:08Speaker 3: at what's next and this is a race I can
- 41:10Speaker 3: capitalize on. This is one where it might be a
- 41:12Speaker 3: bit of damage limitation. He's putting together a really nice championship.
- 41:16Speaker 3: It's really good to see because it feels like it's
- 41:19Speaker 3: nice to have an Australian that's really legit at the
- 41:22Speaker 3: front of that championship now and he really does look
- 41:24Speaker 3: like that.
- 41:25Speaker 1: This year he spoke to us about his goal of
- 41:29Speaker 1: eventually going to Moto GP, which means he does have
- 41:31Speaker 1: to step through Moto two. And I think this new
- 41:34Speaker 1: mentality is what he needs to become.
- 41:38Speaker 2: A Moto two writer couldn't agree.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Even though the age difference between Joel, Jacob and Senna
- 41:44Speaker 1: is not that much. Now we're seeing Joel acting more
- 41:48Speaker 1: like Senna, and I think Senna's had that experience coming
- 41:51Speaker 1: through the European Championship and then going straight into Moto
- 41:54Speaker 1: two where he's constantly looking forward, looking at things very differently,
- 41:58Speaker 1: Joel's now taking that step up.
- 42:00Speaker 2: And we saw this weekend.
- 42:01Speaker 1: You know, it wasn't a good result for Jacob Rulestone
- 42:03Speaker 1: with that DNF, and I think it was a mechanical issue. Yeah. Technique, Yeah,
- 42:07Speaker 1: technical issues, So yeah, obviously not his fault. But I'm
- 42:11Speaker 1: starting to now go is the pressure starting to.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Get to Jacob as well?
- 42:16Speaker 1: Because this is his second year with the TEKTA team.
- 42:19Speaker 1: You know, it's a championship winning it's a race winning team.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Is that pressure starting to be amounted on his shoulders?
- 42:26Speaker 1: And is he starting to crack a little bit?
- 42:28Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 42:29Speaker 3: Look, I think there's a bit of impatience there, which
- 42:31Speaker 3: is understandable. I mean, obviously the start of his season
- 42:33Speaker 3: he was injured through you know, circumstances, and it's taken
- 42:37Speaker 3: him a while to get back to being where he
- 42:39Speaker 3: needs to be. You know, there's not many Australians in
- 42:41Speaker 3: this World Championship paddock, and because these guys are all
- 42:43Speaker 3: similar ages and they've come at it from really different directions,
- 42:47Speaker 3: but they'll all be looking at each other's results. And
- 42:49Speaker 3: Joel's been on podiums and sent us one of Grand
- 42:51Speaker 3: Prix and you know, so the pressure there comes from
- 42:54Speaker 3: probably wanting to keep up with the guys that have
- 42:56Speaker 3: got the same passport, right, because you're always mentioned in
- 42:59Speaker 3: the same conversation, you're going to be compared to what
- 43:01Speaker 3: your compatriots are doing because there's so few of you.
- 43:04Speaker 3: So it's been a rough go for Jacob this year
- 43:07Speaker 3: because he's just not really had a great run at
- 43:09Speaker 3: it because he was injured and then recovering from injury.
- 43:12Speaker 3: It was a shame that he was in a good
- 43:14Speaker 3: position to get a good result. And then, I mean,
- 43:16Speaker 3: it's motorcycle racing. Bikes are going to have technicals from
- 43:19Speaker 3: time to time and it's going to happen. Those ones
- 43:21Speaker 3: never hurt quite so much when you're circulating in thirteenth right,
- 43:24Speaker 3: Like when you're in a good position to get somewhere
- 43:26Speaker 3: and there's something out of your control takes it out
- 43:28Speaker 3: of your hands. I think the positive for him was
- 43:30Speaker 3: the speed was there. He looked like he belonged up there.
- 43:32Speaker 3: The whole weekend had been pretty strong. You just have
- 43:35Speaker 3: to shrug your shoulders with the technical and move on
- 43:37Speaker 3: and try and replicate that for the next one. But
- 43:40Speaker 3: isn't it nice that we're talking about guys being Australian
- 43:43Speaker 3: guys being in strong positions in races and good positions
- 43:46Speaker 3: in the championship and the glass is very much half
- 43:48Speaker 3: full because we've had seasons in the past where you know,
- 43:51Speaker 3: it was either Jack Miller or Bust. We were getting
- 43:53Speaker 3: nothing on the World Championship stage. There were other guys
- 43:55Speaker 3: kind of making up the numbers here and there.
- 43:57Speaker 4: You'd get a.
- 43:58Speaker 3: Random Kelso podium and a soaked Philip Island, which was
- 44:01Speaker 3: a super outline back in twenty three. But it's just
- 44:04Speaker 3: nice to have guys in each World chair beget category.
- 44:06Speaker 4: Now.
- 44:06Speaker 3: As an Australian fan, we you look at it and go, huh,
- 44:08Speaker 3: we could be fighting for something meaningful here. It definitely
- 44:10Speaker 3: makes the whole Sunday night on the couch for everyone
- 44:13Speaker 3: in Australia pretty enjoyable, I think definitely.
- 44:16Speaker 1: And you know, we've got the youngsters like Carter Thompson
- 44:18Speaker 1: who were going to catch up soon, these guys coming.
- 44:21Speaker 2: Through the Red Bull Rookies.
- 44:22Speaker 1: The actually I ran into Harrison Voyd, who's doing the
- 44:26Speaker 1: Super Sport World Championship. You know, the Aussie guys, they're
- 44:29Speaker 1: all there, they're all supporting each other. It's a fact
- 44:31Speaker 1: of us as a nation need to get behind them
- 44:33Speaker 1: as well and help support them and cheer them on
- 44:36Speaker 1: from our sofas because they're over there representing their country
- 44:40Speaker 1: in countries there they're living in for the first time
- 44:43Speaker 1: and having to experience everything new, and they're so far
- 44:45Speaker 1: away from home that it is nice. Like when Senna
- 44:49Speaker 1: was on the podium, Joel and Jacob Jack they all
- 44:51Speaker 1: came down to celebrate with him because we're all in
- 44:54Speaker 1: this together. And it's funny because even now I'm over
- 44:57Speaker 1: here only for four races, but all of a sudden,
- 44:59Speaker 1: all the Australian get together, which is really really nice.
- 45:02Speaker 2: To be a part of.
- 45:03Speaker 3: All ten of you get together at the same time,
- 45:05Speaker 3: we're very much a minority in that paddock. But you're right,
- 45:08Speaker 3: I did certainly notice that we'd said of winning at Silveston,
- 45:11Speaker 3: where everyone just suddenly appeared in Park fer Me to
- 45:13Speaker 3: wish him all the best for what he had done.
- 45:15Speaker 3: The thing we have to remember is that, you know,
- 45:17Speaker 3: Motor GP, there's only twenty two guys on this grid,
- 45:20Speaker 3: and there's no right that there's some sort of Australian
- 45:24Speaker 3: on there. We've had great World champions obviously, but to
- 45:26Speaker 3: have a writer in that World Championship from this part
- 45:28Speaker 3: of the world, it's a really hard thing to do.
- 45:30Speaker 4: We've been a little bit spoiled because.
- 45:32Speaker 3: Jack's been there for ten years and he's just been
- 45:34Speaker 3: ever present and he's won some Grand Prix and given
- 45:36Speaker 3: us lots of great moments and whatever happens with Yamaha.
- 45:39Speaker 3: You know, Jack's certainly closer to the end of his
- 45:41Speaker 3: World Championship career than the beginning. I mean, he'd say
- 45:43Speaker 3: that himself. But one of these younger guys coming through
- 45:46Speaker 3: the feeder classes is going to be the next guy.
- 45:48Speaker 3: And that's the exciting thing. Like, there's nothing more exciting
- 45:51Speaker 3: than seeing an Australian guy on the ground floor as
- 45:54Speaker 3: they're sort of getting their feet wet and becoming who
- 45:56Speaker 3: they are. These are the days you remember. You remember
- 45:58Speaker 3: the Jack Millermoto three days where doing the worm in
- 46:01Speaker 3: the gravel trap at the French Grand Prix, and he's
- 46:03Speaker 3: got a terrible haircut, he's crying on the podium in
- 46:05Speaker 3: guitar and all these sorts of things.
- 46:07Speaker 4: That's the Jack Miller story. And now we're seeing some
- 46:10Speaker 4: of these young.
- 46:10Speaker 3: Guys that are starting to write their own stories and
- 46:13Speaker 3: let's hope one or more of them ends up on
- 46:15Speaker 3: the Premier class.
- 46:16Speaker 4: Grew at some.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Point, definitely, But we only have one week before we
- 46:21Speaker 1: head to Migello. So you're on F one Judy's once
- 46:25Speaker 1: again in Canada. Love that for you, with a really.
- 46:28Speaker 2: Good time zone in Australia.
- 46:30Speaker 1: Right dig you be heads to Magello and as you mentioned,
- 46:35Speaker 1: this is Peco Bangay's ground, so we've gone from Marquez
- 46:38Speaker 1: Land to Peko Banyaya hopefully masterclass in Magello. As I've
- 46:44Speaker 1: mentioned a lot though in this podcast, you can listen
- 46:46Speaker 1: read Matt's articles on Fox sports dot com, do Au Forward,
- 46:49Speaker 1: Slash Motorsport, and I've mentioned a few videos. I did
- 46:52Speaker 1: a really cool behind the scenes of what Jack Miller
- 46:55Speaker 1: does in a day to see his time stamps of
- 46:59Speaker 1: what day in the life of our workday, A nine
- 47:01Speaker 1: to five shall we call it Jack Miller, So you
- 47:03Speaker 1: can check that out on the Fox Sports YouTube. Also,
- 47:05Speaker 1: my track Walk with Joel Kelso gets some really good
- 47:08Speaker 1: insights into Aragon and we talk about Joel's mental mental
- 47:13Speaker 1: abilities right now and where he's at, but also what
- 47:15Speaker 1: he misses from Australia, what food he misses from here.
- 47:18Speaker 2: So that was a good little insight into the world
- 47:20Speaker 2: of Joel.
- 47:21Speaker 1: Keep up to date though with all the ladies news,
- 47:23Speaker 1: also on our socials at Fox Motorsport everywhere Matt's articles
