- 0:00Speaker 1: Andrew to Checko. He's a music man. You a Kravitz
- 0:02Speaker 1: guy to check O.
- 0:04Speaker 2: When you said Sebastian, I was waiting for you to
- 0:06Speaker 2: say boh, like as in skid row.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Right, no skid row. Although if they do tour, I'll
- 0:14Speaker 1: let you know. Letny Kravitz coming. I know, blues travelers
- 0:18Speaker 1: come in with spin doctors and gin blossoms.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Later on.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Collective Soul is going to be back here. I think
- 0:25Speaker 1: that is in August, so a little bit more little
- 0:27Speaker 1: nineties grunge. I know you're a little bit more hair band.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Right, yeah, and seventies rock as well, but yeah, you
- 0:34Speaker 2: have the excited Sebastian. I was like, Sebastian Bot gonna
- 0:36Speaker 2: be there.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Well, if you see a show that down the shore
- 0:40Speaker 1: you want to go to, you let me know, man,
- 0:41Speaker 1: I'll do my best for you. I know the show
- 0:44Speaker 1: for you is April twenty third. Let's talk a little draft,
- 0:47Speaker 1: little intel on a drifter because I want to see.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Let me let's play a little hypothetical here. We know
- 0:53Speaker 1: the aj brown stuff. We've been going through it for
- 0:54Speaker 1: a while. If Philadelphia took a receiver at twenty three
- 0:59Speaker 1: with that blue oh you away.
- 1:02Speaker 2: No it wouldn't. For one, there's so much money invested
- 1:05Speaker 2: on the defensive side, Mike, that they have to eventually
- 1:08Speaker 2: start getting younger and drafting players on the offensive side
- 1:12Speaker 2: to off set that, and knowing that receiver is a
- 1:16Speaker 2: position of need. Regardless of what happens with Aj Brown,
- 1:19Speaker 2: there's not a lot of depth there. Behind Aj and DeVante.
- 1:22Speaker 2: You have a couple of one year signings in Hollywood,
- 1:24Speaker 2: Brown and Elijah Moore. Darius Cooper's been a good story
- 1:28Speaker 2: development after the one season, but they still need to
- 1:31Speaker 2: add another player there to uplift that group and take
- 1:35Speaker 2: it a little bit further. So it wouldn't surprise me.
- 1:37Speaker 1: So is it a good group of receivers? Will there
- 1:39Speaker 1: be some guys that the Eagles will need to decide
- 1:43Speaker 1: on if they stay at twenty three?
- 1:46Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, Jordan Tyson is a player who's pretty interesting,
- 1:50Speaker 2: Denzel Boston, but Mike, I even like the receivers that
- 1:54Speaker 2: could fall within the Eagles range in the second round,
- 1:57Speaker 2: namely Louisville's Chris Bell or Elijah Sarrett from Indiana as
- 2:02Speaker 2: a player who I do like. And Ted Hurst he's
- 2:05Speaker 2: probably going to be a third round pick, but he
- 2:07Speaker 2: went to Georgia State. And you may say, well the
- 2:10Speaker 2: level of competition, Well he went to the Senior Bowl,
- 2:13Speaker 2: and I thought he acquitted himself. Well, he's six foot four,
- 2:16Speaker 2: he runs a four to four four and tracks the DP.
- 2:21Speaker 2: He would add that explosive develop element to an offense
- 2:24Speaker 2: that sorely needs it. So there's a number of players
- 2:27Speaker 2: there that if Eagles do weight and try to pounce
- 2:29Speaker 2: on value, they should be able to find their guy.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Andreel to Checko Football four powered by the Inside the
- 2:34Speaker 1: Birds Podcast. Draft Day, April twenty third. Now we're getting
- 2:37Speaker 1: there the receiver spot. We're looking at that obviously because
- 2:41Speaker 1: of the AJ Brown stuff. This is a real outside
- 2:44Speaker 1: the box thing. Maybe a little tinfoil cap, if you will.
- 2:48Speaker 1: What if New England drafted a wide receiver. Would that
- 2:52Speaker 1: say that trade is off the books? Would that say
- 2:56Speaker 1: maybe the Eagles gave him a little elbow and said
- 2:59Speaker 1: take that guy, because that's who we went back in return.
- 3:06Speaker 2: I think that it would be more so maybe the trade.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Maybe they're moving on and they've spent a lot of
- 3:12Speaker 2: time evaluating a certain player. They added Dobbs, Romeo Dobbs
- 3:16Speaker 2: and free agency, and they had a couple of other
- 3:18Speaker 2: pieces there that like Keisham Boute and he's really more
- 3:22Speaker 2: of a of a third receiver. But to me, it
- 3:24Speaker 2: would signal that they've that they've probably moved on in
- 3:29Speaker 2: their process as they continue to scout and evaluate players.
- 3:33Speaker 1: So I want to get your opinion on this as well.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Everybody thinks that Aj could be traded June first, Okay,
- 3:40Speaker 1: I'll play along here. The Eagles think they're Super Bowl
- 3:42Speaker 1: contenders in twenty twenty six. If you trade AJ Brown
- 3:46Speaker 1: and don't get a player back in return to help
- 3:49Speaker 1: this team, you get draft picks for twenty twenty seven.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Does that make sense to you?
- 3:59Speaker 2: Yes, in the sense that the twenty twenty seven draft
- 4:02Speaker 2: I think is going to be really rich with talent,
- 4:04Speaker 2: probably a little stronger of a class than this one.
- 4:07Speaker 2: And if you're trying to rebuild the offense and add
- 4:10Speaker 2: younger players, particularly at the offensive line, wide receiver, tight,
- 4:15Speaker 2: I mean, they just have to get a lot younger,
- 4:17Speaker 2: and it's going to take a couple of years to
- 4:19Speaker 2: do that. That would then arm the Eagles with optionality
- 4:22Speaker 2: and flexibility there, and then the question becomes, well, who's
- 4:27Speaker 2: replacing AJ Brown in this scenario? Because they don't have
- 4:31Speaker 2: anybody obvious on the roster. I think Devonte Smith could
- 4:34Speaker 2: be a one, but maybe you would have to explore
- 4:38Speaker 2: a trade market. You're not going to find anyone in
- 4:40Speaker 2: all likelihood that's released with that post June one that's
- 4:44Speaker 2: going to give you equal talent, and it would leave
- 4:47Speaker 2: the Eagles with a pretty sizable hole there.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Now do you think there's a receiver at twenty three
- 4:52Speaker 1: that could step in and be a player right away
- 4:57Speaker 1: that you would say, you know what if they landed
- 4:59Speaker 1: Tyson or Cooper that you would be intrigued to see
- 5:04Speaker 1: Devonte Smith and that level of player.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Yeah. I think Denzel Boston would fall into that category.
- 5:11Speaker 2: I know, as you said, as you said, Jordan Tyson
- 5:15Speaker 2: would fall into that category. Omark Cooper. I like him
- 5:19Speaker 2: quite a bit, Mike, but more as a two, and
- 5:22Speaker 2: I'm not so sure that he has headlining potential. He
- 5:25Speaker 2: offers inside outside versatility very good after the catch. I
- 5:30Speaker 2: think it might be a little rich at twenty three,
- 5:32Speaker 2: ever so slightly. You could probably trade down a couple
- 5:35Speaker 2: of spots and get them. I like the other players
- 5:37Speaker 2: that I that I referenced a little bit more, especially
- 5:40Speaker 2: in terms of their fit within the expected scheme. But yeah,
- 5:44Speaker 2: I would feel pretty good about that receiving corps. You
- 5:46Speaker 2: have two veterans as backups in Marquise Brown and Elijah Moore.
- 5:51Speaker 2: You draft a rookie and you have Davonte Smith there,
- 5:54Speaker 2: then you have whatever whoever else Darius Cooper and Johnny
- 5:57Speaker 2: Wilson may be battling out for the fifth, maybe sixth spot,
- 6:00Speaker 2: and that gives you a youth, confused, explosive, dynamic group
- 6:04Speaker 2: of pass catchers, and you're able to get something worthwhile
- 6:07Speaker 2: in return for AJ Brown. But I still maintain this,
- 6:10Speaker 2: Mike the Eagle shouldn't just give AJ Brown away in
- 6:13Speaker 2: a last ditch effort. They owe it to themselves to
- 6:18Speaker 2: give them the best chance at making reaching a super Bowl,
- 6:21Speaker 2: and AJ Brown gives them that opportunity. They're a better
- 6:24Speaker 2: football team with AJ Brown on it unless they're blown away.
- 6:28Speaker 2: I certainly wouldn't. I wouldn't hand them over for you know,
- 6:31Speaker 2: for a song.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Agree with that.
- 6:33Speaker 1: That's the basis of you know, to me, if they
- 6:36Speaker 1: don't get a player back now, your point is twenty
- 6:38Speaker 1: twenty seven draft. That's great, and I agree with what
- 6:40Speaker 1: you're saying on that, But hey, I can't punt twenty
- 6:43Speaker 1: twenty six. I got a super Bowl level team. I
- 6:46Speaker 1: can't give away a guy and not get a player
- 6:48Speaker 1: back in return to help this particular team out. That's
- 6:52Speaker 1: where I have hard time just trading him for draft
- 6:54Speaker 1: picks for next year, even though next year's draft, as
- 6:56Speaker 1: you said, is a stronger draft in your estimation.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think I think so. And I think
- 7:04Speaker 2: that that would give the Eagles another year to continue
- 7:07Speaker 2: to retool the offense, and then it'll be able to
- 7:11Speaker 2: balance it out. You'll have a young defense and then
- 7:13Speaker 2: a young offense that's ready to contend for many years
- 7:16Speaker 2: to come. At least that's the way that I view it.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Let's get a couple of more thoughts. Everybody's always texting
- 7:22Speaker 1: when's Andrew gonna be giving us some draft nuggets? Well,
- 7:25Speaker 1: we'll do it right now, all right, Let's get some
- 7:26Speaker 1: more draft nuggets with Andrew May able to do a
- 7:28Speaker 1: little mail bag with the question if what you want
- 7:31Speaker 1: to do Jalen Phillips He left obviously, Uh, do you
- 7:36Speaker 1: have a favorite guy that would be number one A
- 7:40Speaker 1: twenty three or someone that you would be willing to
- 7:42Speaker 1: trade up for to maybe replace Phillips. Is this a
- 7:45Speaker 1: edge rusher class that you say there's some help.
- 7:49Speaker 2: There, Yes, but I'm not sure, like you would have
- 7:53Speaker 2: to trade up pretty It would be a pretty steep
- 7:56Speaker 2: and trade up to get one of the preeminent pass
- 7:59Speaker 2: rushers if they stampad at twenty three. Mike Keldrick falk
- 8:03Speaker 2: Out of Auburn is a player who I like. He's young,
- 8:06Speaker 2: He's six foot six, you like the length. He's a
- 8:08Speaker 2: tool ze player. I believe that he offers the ability
- 8:11Speaker 2: to drop in the coverage to do some of the
- 8:12Speaker 2: things that he would be asked to do in a
- 8:15Speaker 2: Vic Fangio system. But all that being said, I'm not
- 8:19Speaker 2: sure that if you take him at twenty three, he's
- 8:21Speaker 2: able to help you right away and give you the
- 8:24Speaker 2: same level of impact, be able to take the lion's
- 8:26Speaker 2: share of the snaps like a Jalhen Phillips did. It's
- 8:30Speaker 2: a tough spot because that position needs a headliner, and
- 8:33Speaker 2: if I'm the Eagles, probably the best method in getting
- 8:36Speaker 2: that player would be via trade, whether that's Jonathan Bernard
- 8:40Speaker 2: or a player who isn't really being discussed, because they
- 8:43Speaker 2: could stand to add a veteran player who can one
- 8:47Speaker 2: be the frontline guy in that group, command a lot
- 8:50Speaker 2: more attention, allow someone like a jay loox Hunt and
- 8:54Speaker 2: a Nolan Smith to get theirs, and really everybody would
- 8:57Speaker 2: fall into their place. Jalox Hunt would be the two,
- 9:00Speaker 2: Nolan Smith would be the three, Arnold A.
- 9:02Speaker 3: W A.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Katie would be the four, and that would be a
- 9:04Speaker 2: pretty strong group of edge rushers. So for me, if
- 9:07Speaker 2: you're looking for an impact player for the edge, the
- 9:11Speaker 2: best course of action would be via trade.
- 9:14Speaker 1: All right, that's a spot where I agree with you.
- 9:17Speaker 1: By the way, I'm not I don't really have a
- 9:18Speaker 1: guy that I see a twenty three that would be
- 9:21Speaker 1: somebody that'd be all that.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Yeah, Like there's there's second round guys like cash Is
- 9:25Speaker 2: how from Texas A and m again more of a
- 9:28Speaker 2: rotational guy, our Mason Thomas out of Oklahoma. He's undersized
- 9:32Speaker 2: and I'm not sure that he's going to be more
- 9:33Speaker 2: than a rotational player as a rookie. So as we're
- 9:36Speaker 2: trying to look at that position, you need somebody that
- 9:39Speaker 2: you're going to draft and know that they could step
- 9:41Speaker 2: in there and absorb the full compliment or close to it.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Because Jayalen Phillis was playing North of fifty snaps a game.
- 9:50Speaker 2: You need somebody that can do that and lessen the
- 9:52Speaker 2: burden on a j loox Hunt and a Nolan Smith.
- 9:54Speaker 1: All right, Andrew over at Inside the Birds dot Com,
- 9:57Speaker 1: you wrote about the safety room, which piece little insight there.
- 10:02Speaker 1: I can't imagine unless they trade it way up, that
- 10:07Speaker 1: they would be able to help the safety room with
- 10:10Speaker 1: this with this pick. Correct Or do you like this
- 10:12Speaker 1: class baby second third round area for a safety, because
- 10:16Speaker 1: I gotta imagine that they've got to be looking at
- 10:18Speaker 1: a safety in this in this class.
- 10:19Speaker 2: No. Oh, yeah, absolutely. I have a hard time envisioning
- 10:24Speaker 2: the Eagles being okay with this group. Now, what they've done,
- 10:27Speaker 2: Mike is they've said they draft proofed the roster so
- 10:31Speaker 2: that you can go into the draft and eliminate the
- 10:33Speaker 2: need to feel compelled to reach it a position that
- 10:37Speaker 2: you need. But in the first round, you're looking at
- 10:40Speaker 2: Dylan Dylan, theeneman from Oregon, probably out of the Eagles reach.
- 10:45Speaker 2: But then I look at Emmanuel McNeil Warren at a Toledo,
- 10:49Speaker 2: probably gonna be a late first round guy six three,
- 10:51Speaker 2: six' Four rangeye has the rapport already WITH. Quinnya mitchell
- 10:56Speaker 2: for what it's. Worth and when you're considering about pairing
- 10:59Speaker 2: a player with that kind of ranginess and ball skills
- 11:03Speaker 2: Alongside drew, mccooba that really amplifies the athleticism on the back.
- 11:08Speaker 2: End then you get a little bit later in the.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Band you Have, kilgore the safety From South carolina who
- 11:20Speaker 2: can play nickel or, safety sort of a hybrid type of,
- 11:23Speaker 2: player plays a lot bigger than his listed Side South.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Carolina The eagles have shown some interest in, him and
- 11:35Speaker 2: then adri in the second. ROUND i would say someone
- 11:37Speaker 2: like Aj halsey FROM lsu would fit the bill if
- 11:42Speaker 2: you're looking for that second round. Safety the sweet spot
- 11:44Speaker 2: for him might be pick sixty three when The eagles
- 11:47Speaker 2: are on the. Clock SO i would imagine The eagles
- 11:49Speaker 2: are not. DONE i do like them bringing Back Marcus,
- 11:52Speaker 2: epps who gives you a baseline level of. Ability he's,
- 11:57Speaker 2: smart he's, instinctive he knows the. System but he's best,
- 12:00Speaker 2: suited at least in my, estimation to be a number three.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Safety, yeah And Caleb, downs there's no shot you're getting.
- 12:06Speaker 1: THERE i mean you would have to make a major jump,
- 12:08Speaker 1: up and he would be the one safety that's got you.
- 12:12Speaker 2: KNOW i, MEAN i guess him, play, yeah Blue chip.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Exactly The oregon. KID i can't remember his.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Name uh, yeah, yes, yes he's another one would be
- 12:22Speaker 1: interesting to you, know maybe, that BUT i doubt you
- 12:26Speaker 1: take a safety at twenty. Three but it's an interesting
- 12:28Speaker 1: class for. Them BUT i definitely you know your article
- 12:31Speaker 1: you point out that the current safety room you Got
- 12:36Speaker 1: macouba And. EPPS i, mean, MAN i can't imagine you
- 12:39Speaker 1: enter the season with those two.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Guys Maybe i'm, wrong.
- 12:42Speaker 2: So they're setting it. Up macouba right now is positioned
- 12:46Speaker 2: to be the quote unquote headliner of the, group AND
- 12:49Speaker 2: i think he did some good. Things it's a shame
- 12:51Speaker 2: that he injured he fractured his ankle late in the,
- 12:53Speaker 2: season BECAUSE i could see him playing a lot, faster
- 12:55Speaker 2: playing with more. Confidence has Good he covers a lot of,
- 12:59Speaker 2: ground and his instincts were starting to take. Over now
- 13:03Speaker 2: you need to add someone who compare with, him who
- 13:07Speaker 2: gives you that athleticism and can because in the modern,
- 13:10Speaker 2: era you have to be able, to you, know when
- 13:12Speaker 2: it comes to matchups and being able to get out
- 13:15Speaker 2: there in space and cover these dynamic tight ends and
- 13:18Speaker 2: running backs and all. That you need someone with some,
- 13:21Speaker 2: length with some, range And Marcus EPs is not that.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Guy he's someone who you can trust and you can
- 13:27Speaker 2: put back. There he knows what to. Do but it
- 13:31Speaker 2: really limits the ceiling of that. Room Michael carter the
- 13:34Speaker 2: SECOND i should also Mention mike is a player to
- 13:36Speaker 2: keep an eye. On The eagles really like his. Versatility
- 13:39Speaker 2: they traded for him at the. Deadline didn't factor in
- 13:41Speaker 2: all that much as a, Nickel but my understanding is
- 13:44Speaker 2: that he's going to factor in the mix here in
- 13:47Speaker 2: that safety.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Battle but that.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Shouldn't preclude The eagles from drafting a safety and trying
- 13:52Speaker 2: to bolster the.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Group Bud clark. GUY i Like Bud. Clark oh, YEAH.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Tcu he's a. Talker took of reminds me of J Garner.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Johnson, YEAH i was thinking the same, thing all, right,
- 14:03Speaker 1: Man andrew to checko next. Week of, course we will
- 14:07Speaker 1: be within a week to the draft and the twenty
- 14:09Speaker 1: Third draft, Night eagles pick twenty. THREE i know it's
- 14:13Speaker 1: gonna be fun for you because they got a lot
- 14:14Speaker 1: of like you, know mid round, picks, third, fourth, fist
- 14:17Speaker 1: they got multiple picks in those. ROUNDS i know you
- 14:20Speaker 1: And adam did a good pod the other day looking
- 14:22Speaker 1: at all the mid round, stuff so we'll get into
- 14:25Speaker 1: some of that stuff here On football at For andrew
- 14:27Speaker 1: To checko for The inside The birds, Podcast.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Thanks, man thank, You talk soon.
- 14:32Speaker 3: As, Always andrew to Check. O great on the. Draft
