- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an unspoiled network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering One Piece episodes seven oh three through seven oh five,
- 0:17Speaker 1: A rocky road Law and Corasone's Journey of life. The
- 0:22Speaker 1: Time is Ticking Down, sees the ap op fruit, and
- 0:26Speaker 1: the moment of resolution, Corasone's farewell smile. In these episodes,
- 0:35Speaker 1: we get to find out how Corasone, what his whole
- 0:41Speaker 1: vibe is, who he is, and honestly what a loss.
- 0:45Speaker 1: I feel like him and Bartolomeo would have been real besties.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Welcome to spoil Me, Welcome to the show. Everyone.
- 1:13Speaker 1: I am Natasha. Thank you very much to Florian for
- 1:16Speaker 1: commissioning this episode. And it was pointed out to me
- 1:20Speaker 1: just before beginning by Seraphim, who is also here, that
- 1:23Speaker 1: there is going to be a full month of no
- 1:25Speaker 1: one Piece. So everybody, if you don't see anything on
- 1:28Speaker 1: the feed for a while, it's not that it's like
- 1:30Speaker 1: backed up.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Or there's a mistake.
- 1:32Speaker 1: It's just that there's a bit of a weight and
- 1:35Speaker 1: this doesn't usually happen, and you I all have gotten
- 1:37Speaker 1: quite spoiled over it because most of my shows there's
- 1:40Speaker 1: a wait at some point in the booking. But yeah,
- 1:44Speaker 1: so just wanted to give you guys a heads up
- 1:45Speaker 1: on that. So this group of episodes are they are
- 1:53Speaker 1: so good because, guys, I just wasn't ready for how
- 2:00Speaker 1: like deep the backstory was gonna go with Trafalgar Law.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I just sort of expected it to be like, I'm
- 2:10Speaker 1: gonna find out his tragic history and I'm going to
- 2:14Speaker 1: find out that, you know, there's like a little bit
- 2:18Speaker 1: of a feud between him and Do Flamingo. I'm sort
- 2:22Speaker 1: of thinking when at the beginning of this, well, probably
- 2:27Speaker 1: whatever it is that he did wrong, Do Flamingo is
- 2:31Speaker 1: just such a drama queen that it's not even that
- 2:34Speaker 1: bad a thing, but he is reacting like it's the
- 2:39Speaker 1: worst possible thing anybody could do to him, because he
- 2:42Speaker 1: isn't used to being thwarted, and he, like obviously as
- 2:48Speaker 1: we had seen, was a total spoiled brat to begin with.
- 2:52Speaker 1: So I was kind of like prepared for this the
- 3:00Speaker 1: backstory on Trafalgar Law to be sort of like underwhelming,
- 3:05Speaker 1: I guess, and I wasn't really Like, I just I
- 3:13Speaker 1: really wound up enjoying this a lot more than I expected.
- 3:16Speaker 2: And a big part of this for me right.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Now is how unexpectedly delightful his brother turned out to
- 3:27Speaker 1: be Do Flamingo's brother, and that there is this like,
- 3:32Speaker 1: uh back.
- 3:35Speaker 2: What's the word I want?
- 3:37Speaker 1: This like connection between him and Vigo, And that also
- 3:43Speaker 1: gives a lot of depth to why Trafalgar reacted to
- 3:47Speaker 1: Vigo the way he did back on the Caesar's Island.
- 3:52Speaker 1: So it just kind of fleshes a lot of things
- 3:55Speaker 1: out in a way. That is, you guys have seen
- 3:59Speaker 1: play plenty of times where I have not really reacted
- 4:02Speaker 1: that much to certain reveals because it sort of felt
- 4:05Speaker 1: to me like.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I feel like I'm supposed to behave.
- 4:09Speaker 1: A certain way, but I don't remember enough for this
- 4:11Speaker 1: to have made that big an impression. And I like
- 4:19Speaker 1: this was something that everything happened close enough together that
- 4:22Speaker 1: it feels like it actually matters. And also just knowing
- 4:28Speaker 1: that there was somebody who was with Do Flamingo and
- 4:33Speaker 1: I say with like in the technical sense, but they
- 4:36Speaker 1: were not actually on his side, it makes me feel
- 4:42Speaker 1: a little bit better in a way because I did
- 4:46Speaker 1: notice that he had brothers and sisters, but I wasn't
- 4:50Speaker 1: really sure or did he have sisters. He had just
- 4:53Speaker 1: him and his brother, right, it was four of them, But.
- 4:58Speaker 2: I really think that.
- 5:01Speaker 1: It would have been kind of easy to have him
- 5:04Speaker 1: just following Do Flamingo around and sort of like not
- 5:10Speaker 1: agreeing with what do Flamingo's doing, but also not really
- 5:13Speaker 1: having his own deal yet, like setting it up that
- 5:16Speaker 1: he doesn't like the way his brother handles things, but
- 5:19Speaker 1: also maybe that his brother he like, means so much
- 5:23Speaker 1: to Corasone that he's like, I've lost everybody. I'm still
- 5:28Speaker 1: going to do what he says and follow him because
- 5:31Speaker 1: I don't have anyone in the world else that gives
- 5:35Speaker 1: a shit about me, So why would I like ruin
- 5:37Speaker 1: this relationship? And I really love that Corasone is like
- 5:43Speaker 1: very firmly in opposition already. He is he is working
- 5:50Speaker 1: like actively against his brother and the fact that his
- 5:54Speaker 1: brother thinks he can't talk. It's I'm still trying to
- 6:01Speaker 1: figure out exactly what advantage that gives, Like I don't obviously,
- 6:12Speaker 1: as we eventually find out, Corrassone has this calm calm
- 6:16Speaker 1: fruit that he ate, which means that he can create
- 6:21Speaker 1: soundproof walls so that he and Law are speaking in
- 6:26Speaker 1: a crowd at one point, but they can't hear the crowd,
- 6:28Speaker 1: and the crowd can't hear anything they are saying. Later on,
- 6:33Speaker 1: he uses it to attack in the dark, because since
- 6:37Speaker 1: nobody can hear him at all, he can like do
- 6:42Speaker 1: all kinds of shit without them even realizing where he
- 6:45Speaker 1: is in the room. I really really enjoyed getting to
- 6:48Speaker 1: see him use this ability that doesn't feel like it
- 6:51Speaker 1: would lend itself much to combat for combat because it's
- 6:55Speaker 1: just such a different you know, we have seen so
- 6:57Speaker 1: many like somebody can slow down tops or they can
- 7:00Speaker 1: become invisible, but sound is really not something that you
- 7:04Speaker 1: get much of in terms of combat, unless it's like
- 7:09Speaker 1: they do a sound so loud that it deafens everybody
- 7:14Speaker 1: or or causes them to like curl up in a
- 7:17Speaker 1: ball in pain, or in some cases makes them explode.
- 7:21Speaker 2: You know. Usually the lack.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Of sound isn't the thing. It's too much sound. It's
- 7:28Speaker 1: more than we can handle as human beings. That's the weapon.
- 7:32Speaker 1: So getting to see it used in reverse was really compelling,
- 7:37Speaker 1: and it's something that I'm sort of like, I wish
- 7:38Speaker 1: we saw more of this in media in general, because
- 7:42Speaker 1: it got me really thinking about how you just when
- 7:48Speaker 1: you are a fully able bodied person, you just take
- 7:51Speaker 1: certain senses for granted, and sound is sort of an
- 8:01Speaker 1: odd one because we think about it just in terms
- 8:05Speaker 1: of talking to each other.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Most of the time.
- 8:08Speaker 1: There is sign language, there is lip reading. There's also
- 8:11Speaker 1: just regular reading if you are able to. But I
- 8:16Speaker 1: don't feel like we think often enough about just in
- 8:19Speaker 1: our surroundings, how much sound keys us to what's happening,
- 8:24Speaker 1: and how it's like, you know, a thing with women,
- 8:29Speaker 1: especially like if you're out at night or if you're
- 8:31Speaker 1: taking a run by yourself, that you like shouldn't wear
- 8:34Speaker 1: headphones because you want to always be aware of your
- 8:36Speaker 1: surroundings in case somebody is coming up on you. And
- 8:40Speaker 1: I just seeing how effective this was because these dudes
- 8:44Speaker 1: are all they're also mostly drunk, so that certainly works
- 8:48Speaker 1: to his advantage in the scene as well. But I
- 8:51Speaker 1: just thought it was a really cool sequence. Saraphim says,
- 8:58Speaker 1: another bit of Oda loving playing around his name choices.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Laws group are called the Heart Pirates. Corazone is Spanish
- 9:06Speaker 1: for heart. They're called the Heart Pirates.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Did we know that.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Maybe there was maybe is there a heart on his
- 9:17Speaker 1: jolly Roger? I'm trying to think back because I actually
- 9:21Speaker 1: don't remember what it looks like. Does the Jolly Roger
- 9:24Speaker 1: have Law's hat on it or something. I don't remember
- 9:27Speaker 1: what it looks like. If there's a picture, you can
- 9:29Speaker 1: link it to me. Florian says, I said it before.
- 9:32Speaker 1: One piece is great on a rewatch, more so in
- 9:34Speaker 1: the New World, I would say I could see that.
- 9:37Speaker 1: And like I said, I think it makes a big
- 9:39Speaker 1: difference how close together things happen. It's certainly like it's
- 9:44Speaker 1: not like there's no value to stuff when they're spaced
- 9:47Speaker 1: really far apart. But it feels a little bit less
- 9:49Speaker 1: like it was planned ahead and more like somebody realized
- 9:54Speaker 1: there was a thing that they never expanded on and
- 9:57Speaker 1: decided to do it. Finally, you know where this here.
- 10:01Speaker 1: It feels a lot more purposeful to me. I also
- 10:05Speaker 1: just want to mention really quickly that I am covering
- 10:08Speaker 1: this now using crunchy roll, because even though the leaving
- 10:14Speaker 1: soon banner appeared on one piece, like when I was
- 10:17Speaker 1: watching it a few weeks ago, it disappeared, and I
- 10:21Speaker 1: thought that meant that we were going to get one
- 10:24Speaker 1: piece back, that like something had changed. It had not changed,
- 10:28Speaker 1: it just disappeared, and then one piece was gone when
- 10:31Speaker 1: I went to log in today. So I'm going to
- 10:35Speaker 1: see how different it is covering it from Crunchy Role,
- 10:39Speaker 1: because the last time that I did this, I was
- 10:42Speaker 1: using the other site that eventually got absorbed by crunchy Roll.
- 10:45Speaker 1: I can't even remember what it was, and it was
- 10:47Speaker 1: so annoying because my television their app didn't work with it,
- 10:51Speaker 1: so I couldn't watch it on the TV. We have
- 10:53Speaker 1: since replaced our TV and Crunchy Role works on there,
- 10:57Speaker 1: so we are all good again. But there was a
- 11:00Speaker 1: time where I was just getting very annoyed with the
- 11:03Speaker 1: way one piece was like bouncing around and just very
- 11:07Speaker 1: difficult to watch. Weirdly, so this like whole moment with
- 11:17Speaker 1: Law and him being told that the D in his
- 11:21Speaker 1: name means that like he is part of a notorious
- 11:27Speaker 1: group of people. This was so strange to me, guys,
- 11:30Speaker 1: because I and correct me if I'm wrong, because I
- 11:36Speaker 1: maybe forgot there are things that you know, it takes
- 11:39Speaker 1: a long time for us to get back to, and
- 11:41Speaker 1: so sometimes I may just but I don't remember if
- 11:48Speaker 1: we ever have gotten a straight answer about what this
- 11:54Speaker 1: D actually stands for or means. So I he says
- 12:01Speaker 1: something about how when we were kids, they used to
- 12:08Speaker 1: say that D was gonna come and get you. That
- 12:12Speaker 1: was the way that we like scared people. And the
- 12:17Speaker 1: something about the name means like enemy of the gods, which, uh,
- 12:23Speaker 1: if the celestial dragons see themselves as gods, indicates that
- 12:30Speaker 1: the people with d In as their middle name are
- 12:36Speaker 1: like perhaps destined to take them down. This is a
- 12:41Speaker 1: this is a weird like it's so kind of vague
- 12:45Speaker 1: that I'm not even really sure what to do with it.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Because the thing is, guys, that the the way that
- 12:54Speaker 1: names work in the world that we live in is
- 12:59Speaker 1: an anybody can give their kid any middle name, So
- 13:06Speaker 1: I don't know if the D is meant to be
- 13:10Speaker 1: just an initial and they each have the same actual
- 13:15Speaker 1: full middle name, if they don't have a full middle
- 13:19Speaker 1: name and they just have the initial, which I'm assuming
- 13:22Speaker 1: that you can do. Like I don't have a middle
- 13:24Speaker 1: name at all. My parents couldn't agree on one and
- 13:27Speaker 1: so they just decided not to give me one. So
- 13:29Speaker 1: if you can give your kid no middle name, I'm
- 13:31Speaker 1: assuming you can give your kid just a letter as
- 13:33Speaker 1: a middle name, which is actually kind of funny. So
- 13:39Speaker 1: my question is, this isn't like a last name, where
- 13:44Speaker 1: everybody of a certain lineage is likely to have the
- 13:48Speaker 1: same last name, or if it's not the same, there
- 13:51Speaker 1: is somebody in their history who had the same name.
- 13:55Speaker 1: It's a middle name which anybody can give any child child.
- 14:01Speaker 1: And so that's where I keep sort of getting like, well,
- 14:05Speaker 1: is like, how are these assigned? Is this something that
- 14:09Speaker 1: you give your kid the D as the middle name,
- 14:12Speaker 1: and all of a sudden that changes their entire destiny,
- 14:16Speaker 1: or like what exact how could that possibly work? You know,
- 14:24Speaker 1: I'm trying to find the moment where he's explaining this
- 14:28Speaker 1: so that I can read the actual like texts that
- 14:31Speaker 1: he says, Yeah, you possess the secret name of d.
- 14:35Speaker 1: You realize what that means. You're part of a fateful few.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Growing up, when children misbehaved, we were told, if you
- 14:42Speaker 1: don't fall in line, you'll be eaten alive by D. Now,
- 14:46Speaker 1: I am really sorry, kids, but I just need to
- 14:49Speaker 1: say that. I couldn't stop laughing for a second because
- 14:52Speaker 1: I just can't not think Dick anymore. You know, like
- 14:57Speaker 1: D has just been the shorthand for sake, Dick for
- 15:01Speaker 1: a couple of years now, and it's just occasionally the
- 15:06Speaker 1: way that a sentence is structured going to work out
- 15:08Speaker 1: in such a way that it sounds very funny and
- 15:11Speaker 1: if you don't straighten out, you're gonna get eaten alive
- 15:13Speaker 1: by D. I sorry that that was funny. You'd overhear
- 15:19Speaker 1: the elderly making passing comments like D will surely bring
- 15:24Speaker 1: a new storm, and Law just says, well, what the
- 15:28Speaker 1: fuck does that mean? You're saying that I'm a monster,
- 15:31Speaker 1: And he says, perhaps the details are still unknown, but
- 15:37Speaker 1: that name's survived for centuries and been muttered across the
- 15:41Speaker 1: entire world. One more thing, those who fear the inheritors
- 15:45Speaker 1: of D have given them another title here it is
- 15:50Speaker 1: sworn enemy of gods. And again, I don't really know
- 15:59Speaker 1: how you inherit the middle name. I have to assume
- 16:04Speaker 1: that this is a cultural thing, you know, because like
- 16:07Speaker 1: in the US, it's just anybody can have it.
- 16:11Speaker 2: So let's see.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Seraphim says, it does overall seem to be a family thing.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Garb slash dragon slash loofy all have it, Goldie Roger
- 16:19Speaker 1: and his son, Portkisty Ace and Jaguar D. Saul said
- 16:23Speaker 1: the initial D was something that had been passed down
- 16:25Speaker 1: in his family for generations.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Yeah, like.
- 16:31Speaker 1: I know that it's meant to be that way. But
- 16:39Speaker 1: I just feel like if you can just give somebody
- 16:42Speaker 1: a name, like I don't know, maybe it's supposed to
- 16:47Speaker 1: be that the D is so notorious that nobody would
- 16:51Speaker 1: just give their child a D. Because it's almost feeling
- 16:54Speaker 1: like it's off limits, like you know what I'm saying.
- 16:59Speaker 1: But it does feel like if anybody has a D
- 17:04Speaker 1: middle name, there could be a lot of potential for
- 17:08Speaker 1: misunderstanding that somebody is part of the family and they
- 17:12Speaker 1: are not. Like there's got to be plenty of false flags, right,
- 17:18Speaker 1: Like it just it's a weird choice to me that
- 17:23Speaker 1: I don't really know what a better way to do
- 17:25Speaker 1: that is, Like I keep thinking about something that's always
- 17:27Speaker 1: pops up in whenever you have murder mysteries, you have
- 17:33Speaker 1: the kind of proof and I put this in quotes
- 17:36Speaker 1: about whether people are related that is really like obvious
- 17:41Speaker 1: to an observer or obvious to somebody who knows about genetics.
- 17:45Speaker 1: So it'll be something like a birthmark that's the same
- 17:48Speaker 1: shape as somebody else's birthmark, you know. Or it'll be
- 17:51Speaker 1: like so and so has this particular like type of
- 17:54Speaker 1: cleft chin and their father doesn't, so where that come from?
- 17:58Speaker 1: And it's like the neighbor from ten years ago has
- 18:01Speaker 1: that same cleft chin. Clearly that's his child. So I'm
- 18:05Speaker 1: just trying to think what else you could do to
- 18:07Speaker 1: signal that these people are like somehow related, And I
- 18:10Speaker 1: don't really know what that would look like. So it's
- 18:15Speaker 1: tough because, like, I get what he's trying for here,
- 18:19Speaker 1: and I'm willing to accept it for the sake of
- 18:21Speaker 1: the story. But when you really stop and think about
- 18:25Speaker 1: it at all, it doesn't really make sense. It's just
- 18:28Speaker 1: kind of it feels almost arbitrary, you know. So anyway,
- 18:36Speaker 1: he continues, if the celestial gods are an analogy or
- 18:42Speaker 1: the celestial dragons are analogy for the gods, then you
- 18:45Speaker 1: might be seen as like the destroyers of the world.
- 18:50Speaker 1: And he says it's a different type of destruction from
- 18:54Speaker 1: Do Flamingo. It's a type of destruction that goes against
- 18:58Speaker 1: heaven itself. And I don't really know what that means either.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Like that feels like Do Flamingo wants to destroy the
- 19:08Speaker 1: world in general because what his theory. And I don't
- 19:11Speaker 1: know if I've really talked about this much, but he
- 19:14Speaker 1: has said I want to destroy the world because that
- 19:17Speaker 1: is what the celestial Dragon's value is like control over
- 19:21Speaker 1: the world. So if I destroy it, I make it
- 19:25Speaker 1: so that I've taken something away from them, and that's
- 19:28Speaker 1: all I want to do, is just basically like ruin
- 19:30Speaker 1: their lives. And so I'm thinking that what he is
- 19:33Speaker 1: saying here is that like the people with D and
- 19:36Speaker 1: their name are going to be the ones that take
- 19:38Speaker 1: down the celestial Dragons specifically, and not like destroy the world,
- 19:42Speaker 1: but more they destroyed the system that the world has
- 19:46Speaker 1: been working under for a long time. So anyway, this conversation,
- 19:54Speaker 1: it's very funny. Eventually, after being told this, lat just goes,
- 20:01Speaker 1: I don't know why you're fucking telling me this. I
- 20:04Speaker 1: just wanted to join your crew so that I could
- 20:06Speaker 1: kill people and then die in a year.
- 20:10Speaker 2: And this dude says.
- 20:14Speaker 1: I'm sure that there is a cure out there for
- 20:16Speaker 1: your disease, and Law doesn't want to hear it, and
- 20:18Speaker 1: he says, I'm gonna fucking tell on you and runs
- 20:22Speaker 1: away and is like, I am definitely going to rat
- 20:25Speaker 1: He uses the word rat on you too, which I
- 20:27Speaker 1: did think was kind of funny. I was so disappointed
- 20:32Speaker 1: in Law in this moment. Later on, once Corrassone has
- 20:38Speaker 1: caught up to him again. Law admits, I realized that
- 20:44Speaker 1: I actually owed you because I was you know, I
- 20:49Speaker 1: was the one who stabbed you, and you knew it,
- 20:52Speaker 1: and you decided not to tattle on me. So I
- 20:57Speaker 1: changed my mind and I didn't tattle on you. But
- 21:03Speaker 1: the fact that it even occurred to him to tattle
- 21:06Speaker 1: on Corrisont to do Flamingo is like, it's a real
- 21:10Speaker 1: moment of me having to adjust how I think of Law,
- 21:14Speaker 1: and I keep having to do this. It's just been
- 21:18Speaker 1: a constant, consistent thing with him that from the start
- 21:25Speaker 1: I have been giving him credit for a certain level
- 21:29Speaker 1: of ethics. I guess that he keeps showing me he
- 21:35Speaker 1: doesn't have actually, and I don't know when I'm going
- 21:39Speaker 1: to fucking get the picture that that isn't what I'm thinking,
- 21:43Speaker 1: isn't really necessarily either who he is or who he
- 21:50Speaker 1: has allowed himself to be. And I really think that's
- 21:53Speaker 1: kind of the difference here is that I believe that
- 21:57Speaker 1: the impulse I am assigning to him is coming from
- 22:01Speaker 1: a I believe this is what he would want to do.
- 22:07Speaker 1: But then what we are seeing is the way that
- 22:11Speaker 1: he has taught himself to react as a means of
- 22:15Speaker 1: self protection. So it's just this like instinct to betray
- 22:25Speaker 1: Corrassone who has been hiding something of this level, the
- 22:30Speaker 1: fact that one he can talk and two he has
- 22:34Speaker 1: already eaten a devil fruit. I mean, I don't know
- 22:41Speaker 1: what Do Flamingo would do if Law had decided to
- 22:45Speaker 1: just go through with it and tell.
- 22:47Speaker 2: I'm genuinely not sure. I feel like.
- 22:53Speaker 1: The thing about Do Flamingo is, despite saying he is
- 22:57Speaker 1: family after all, which is what he says later, we
- 23:03Speaker 1: have seen the way that he like, well, we didn't
- 23:05Speaker 1: see it, but we know that he took out his
- 23:08Speaker 1: father so obviously, and all the celestial dragons are like
- 23:15Speaker 1: technically related to him. Family doesn't mean a whole lot
- 23:17Speaker 1: to him. So a part of me wants to be like,
- 23:22Speaker 1: maybe he would try and roll with it, but I'm
- 23:25Speaker 1: starting to think like, probably, not probably, he would really
- 23:28Speaker 1: hold that against him. And they eventually, you know, he
- 23:35Speaker 1: catches up with him, and Law admits that he didn't tell,
- 23:41Speaker 1: but Corasone eventually captures Law and basically abducts him and
- 23:49Speaker 1: runs off with him. Do Flamingo and his guys are
- 23:55Speaker 1: on the ship and they are taking off because the
- 23:59Speaker 1: the here it is the navy has surrounded them and
- 24:04Speaker 1: they're just sort of fighting their way out, and they
- 24:07Speaker 1: find a note in Corasone's hammock that says, uh, let's see.
- 24:13Speaker 1: He says, looks like they took off together. What the
- 24:15Speaker 1: hell is he thinking? You don't get in the and
- 24:20Speaker 1: I didn't get this on Hulu either, but in Crunchy Role,
- 24:23Speaker 1: they don't give you a translation of the characters on
- 24:25Speaker 1: the note, so it's just him saying, looks like they
- 24:29Speaker 1: ran off together. It's also interesting because when I use
- 24:35Speaker 1: the captions in Crunchy Role, whenever do Flamingo talks, it
- 24:42Speaker 1: says signor, And when Corasone talks, it's another name. And
- 24:47Speaker 1: I can't remember off the top of my head what
- 24:49Speaker 1: it was, but yeah, it's it's giving like a different name.
- 24:54Speaker 1: And I'm assuming that maybe these names are from the
- 24:58Speaker 1: Japanese version. Perhaps I don't know. But what we get
- 25:03Speaker 1: after this is a first of all, the reveal of
- 25:10Speaker 1: oh my god, what is his name?
- 25:13Speaker 2: Virgo?
- 25:15Speaker 1: Virgo is being promoted by Sengoku, and Sengoku is in
- 25:21Speaker 1: contact with Krason. Corason has like a sign off to
- 25:29Speaker 1: let him know who he is, and it's a whole thing.
- 25:33Speaker 1: And it turns out he's been the one that's like
- 25:35Speaker 1: feeding the Navy information because the Marines information, because he's
- 25:40Speaker 1: trying to head off his brother because he does not
- 25:42Speaker 1: think that what his brother is doing is okay. So
- 25:47Speaker 1: Vigo coming in, I'll be honest, I probably should have
- 25:52Speaker 1: immediately been like, oh, this is the start of Virgo
- 25:57Speaker 1: being like corrupt, you know, with him being planted here.
- 26:01Speaker 1: I didn't put it together. All I did was go, oh,
- 26:04Speaker 1: I recognize that guy. But I didn't stop and go
- 26:07Speaker 1: back in my mind to thinking exactly how the meat
- 26:12Speaker 1: between him and Law went when they first saw each
- 26:16Speaker 1: other on the island. And even if I had, I
- 26:19Speaker 1: don't think I would have necessarily assumed that it had
- 26:22Speaker 1: started with them against one another this far back, like
- 26:25Speaker 1: it could have been that they were working together and
- 26:28Speaker 1: then something went wrong eventually. But what we find out
- 26:34Speaker 1: is that Vigo has been working with because he mentions
- 26:40Speaker 1: Vigo to Law in the midst of their conversation. So
- 26:43Speaker 1: later when Law hears Vigo's name out loud, finally he
- 26:49Speaker 1: puts it together that this guy is bad news. But
- 26:52Speaker 1: I will be honest, that went right over my head.
- 26:55Speaker 1: When Corasone says Vigo's name and explains like how dangerous
- 26:59Speaker 1: he is. I totally like missed it. So it wasn't
- 27:03Speaker 1: until later on when Law is like, oh Vigo, and
- 27:06Speaker 1: you get like that little flashback echo of the voice
- 27:09Speaker 1: when Corasone was telling him that, I was like, oh fuck, okay,
- 27:13Speaker 1: So we were like warned this was going on here.
- 27:19Speaker 1: So this, uh, like it's such a weird. He's got
- 27:27Speaker 1: the egg on his face and later on he's got
- 27:29Speaker 1: something else on his face. We still got this weird
- 27:31Speaker 1: thing with him. I had forgotten about this, but yeah,
- 27:35Speaker 1: he doesn't turn up until later in the third episode
- 27:37Speaker 1: when they go to retrieve that devil fruit, because evidently
- 27:41Speaker 1: he was sent here to get it. So at the
- 27:45Speaker 1: end of this episode, we get the montage of Corassone
- 27:54Speaker 1: taking Law from one hospital to another and trying to
- 28:00Speaker 1: get somebody to help him, and it's really like, it's
- 28:05Speaker 1: kind of funny because he seems to genuinely think that
- 28:09Speaker 1: eventually they are going to find somebody who doesn't have
- 28:12Speaker 1: the same like biases.
- 28:15Speaker 2: I guess I.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Don't really even know what to call these the misinformation,
- 28:20Speaker 1: I don't know, but I felt like it was. It
- 28:26Speaker 1: probably would have been better if he had changed like
- 28:30Speaker 1: the approach and gone in himself to talk to the
- 28:34Speaker 1: doctors instead of always bringing Law in in person, because
- 28:42Speaker 1: eventually he says to himself, what the hell am I doing?
- 28:45Speaker 1: I'm making this kid like relive all of this like
- 28:49Speaker 1: terrible trauma in his life, and he feels really guilty
- 28:53Speaker 1: about it when all he did, all he had wanted
- 28:56Speaker 1: to do was help, and I felt like, well, you didn't.
- 29:01Speaker 1: You could have still found out whether people were willing
- 29:04Speaker 1: to help and just handled it a little bit differently
- 29:07Speaker 1: so that the child is not literally in their presence
- 29:09Speaker 1: every time somebody goes off, but it's a whole series
- 29:16Speaker 1: of travel that they do, and evidently it takes place
- 29:20Speaker 1: over the course of a year because later when Law
- 29:24Speaker 1: has gotten really really sick and it looks like he
- 29:27Speaker 1: is on the verge of death, corasone essentially is like,
- 29:32Speaker 1: I don't understand. You said that you had more time
- 29:35Speaker 1: than this, like you, because remember this whole thing started
- 29:40Speaker 1: off with Laws saying that he had like two years
- 29:43Speaker 1: and so much time because his father had put it
- 29:45Speaker 1: in his chart, and his dad was a surgeon, so he.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Would know and.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Like evidently it accelerated for some reason. His dad was wrong,
- 29:56Speaker 1: maybe didn't know how bad it was. I don't know
- 29:58Speaker 1: what caused this, but they were wrong. And at this point,
- 30:03Speaker 1: Corasone is starting to get like genuinely desperate about wanting
- 30:07Speaker 1: to help. And it's so sad because he's like crying.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Over Law while Law is.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Asleep and just expressing how like sorry he sees he
- 30:21Speaker 1: is for him, and I just wanted to help you
- 30:24Speaker 1: from the beginning, like you didn't deserve any of this,
- 30:27Speaker 1: And it was a really like adorable. He was so
- 30:31Speaker 1: so emotional, and then when the camera pans down you
- 30:35Speaker 1: see Law laying there. He was wide awake, it turns
- 30:39Speaker 1: out the whole time, and he is also extremely overwhelmed emotionally,
- 30:47Speaker 1: and it leads to him the next day being like
- 30:51Speaker 1: he gets up early and he makes breakfast, he calls
- 30:55Speaker 1: Corasone Cora, and Corasone clearly is like really really touched
- 31:00Speaker 1: by that. I am still kind of wondering, and I'm
- 31:07Speaker 1: curious about whether or not this, like if there's a
- 31:12Speaker 1: reason for this that I missed, or if I like
- 31:16Speaker 1: it's going to be explained later, or if it's kind
- 31:18Speaker 1: of not gonna be, but you know, it doesn't matter.
- 31:25Speaker 1: The reasoning behind Kora hating kids, is that something that
- 31:32Speaker 1: we ever get like, because clearly he doesn't really like
- 31:36Speaker 1: Clearly there is a lot about him that was incorrect
- 31:40Speaker 1: that we are getting from Do Flamingo. But he also
- 31:45Speaker 1: like threw him out the window a law.
- 31:48Speaker 2: And he threw those other kids across the room.
- 31:50Speaker 1: So it's not like there's no reason to think that
- 31:53Speaker 1: that's true. And I genuinely am not sure what.
- 31:57Speaker 2: To make of it.
- 31:58Speaker 1: If this is something that's like part of his camouflage
- 32:02Speaker 1: to make him seem more tough and make it like
- 32:06Speaker 1: he has the same sort of like violent streak that
- 32:13Speaker 1: Do Flamingo does, And so it just sort of is
- 32:16Speaker 1: convincing because of this, I don't I'm not really sure
- 32:20Speaker 1: what that is where that is coming from, but clearly
- 32:26Speaker 1: uh oh okay, So Saraphim says, not directly, but there's
- 32:32Speaker 1: a line from when he was talking to Sengoku that
- 32:35Speaker 1: implies Cora does it to try and chase away kids
- 32:39Speaker 1: and keep them from joining with DOPHI ah, okay, that
- 32:44Speaker 1: makes a lot of sense.
- 32:45Speaker 2: I like it.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Okay, cool, So overall this whole thing is a huge failure.
- 32:55Speaker 1: And it is not until later when he finally answers
- 32:59Speaker 1: the call from O Flamingo when he finds out about
- 33:04Speaker 1: the uh the devil fruit. By the time they take
- 33:09Speaker 1: this call, it's been six months, is what do Flamingo says.
- 33:13Speaker 1: And I had wondered how this was going to work.
- 33:15Speaker 1: And the way that Kra replies to his brother because
- 33:18Speaker 1: it seems like you know they have done this kind
- 33:21Speaker 1: of uh what do you call it? The communication before
- 33:26Speaker 1: is he is using taps on the transponder snail to
- 33:31Speaker 1: reply to him. And this is when do Flamingo says,
- 33:35Speaker 1: I need you to come back to the ship. We
- 33:37Speaker 1: might be able to cure laws disease. I happen to
- 33:39Speaker 1: find a lead on the op op fruit. Some stupid
- 33:43Speaker 1: pirates who don't know what it's worth got their hands
- 33:46Speaker 1: on it. Seems the navy caught word because now they're
- 33:49Speaker 1: offering a ton of money and getting ready for a
- 33:52Speaker 1: trade as usual. The world government is put is pulling
- 33:56Speaker 1: strings to get their way. It's risky, but we can
- 34:00Speaker 1: steal it once we have it. Due to the nature
- 34:04Speaker 1: of its power, I can only allow someone who's loyalty
- 34:09Speaker 1: I trust completely to eat it, and that would be
- 34:14Speaker 1: you Chrason. Afterwards you can cure Law's disease. And this
- 34:23Speaker 1: was really interesting because I, you know, at this point,
- 34:28Speaker 1: I am aware that the whole thing is supposed to
- 34:31Speaker 1: be granted eternal youth and thus sacrifice yourself. And I
- 34:36Speaker 1: wasn't sure if Chorsome was aware of this, and he
- 34:42Speaker 1: later is talking to Law, and it turns out he
- 34:45Speaker 1: indeed is aware. He knows quite well that this is
- 34:48Speaker 1: the thing, and I'm not sure if it's supposed to
- 34:52Speaker 1: be that Do Flamingo like believes that his brother is
- 34:57Speaker 1: ignorant of it, and so would have been so of
- 35:00Speaker 1: tricking him into this because saying that you only want
- 35:04Speaker 1: somebody who's loyal to you to eat the fruit, I
- 35:07Speaker 1: feel like that could apply to any devil fruit at all.
- 35:10Speaker 1: If you're going to go through the trouble of stealing
- 35:12Speaker 1: it and somebody is going to eat it, of course
- 35:15Speaker 1: you would want only people who are loyal to you.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Like that wouldn't really raise any eyebrows for me. But
- 35:22Speaker 1: we know exactly where that's coming from. And I am
- 35:27Speaker 1: wondering if do Flamingo thinks that his brother is in
- 35:31Speaker 1: the dark. And of course we are already aware that
- 35:35Speaker 1: Do Flamingo doesn't know his brother has already eaten a
- 35:39Speaker 1: devil fruit, so he can't eat a second one. It
- 35:42Speaker 1: would kill him.
- 35:44Speaker 2: And I just like wonder.
- 35:50Speaker 1: What would have happened if like this whole thing with
- 35:53Speaker 1: Law hadn't taken place, and Corasone was there when they
- 35:59Speaker 1: got the fruit. While with Do Flamingo, if he's not
- 36:04Speaker 1: going to eat it, what is he going to do
- 36:07Speaker 1: with it? I feel like he's got to steal it
- 36:09Speaker 1: and run. But the way that his power works, I'm
- 36:15Speaker 1: wondering if he would manage to get away, if he
- 36:17Speaker 1: could use that to actually successfully leave, because Dop Flamingo's
- 36:21Speaker 1: power and being able to control people is pretty fucking serious,
- 36:26Speaker 1: you know, Like, I just don't know if there would
- 36:29Speaker 1: have been hope for him them having already been split up.
- 36:34Speaker 1: It kind of feels like the best case scenario for
- 36:37Speaker 1: getting away with this thing. So of course, at this point,
- 36:43Speaker 1: Corasone becomes convinced that this devil fruit is going to
- 36:49Speaker 1: help uh save Law from his illness. He also believes
- 37:00Speaker 1: that at this point Do Flamingo has realized who the
- 37:03Speaker 1: trader is, and we see Do Flamingo talking to his people,
- 37:07Speaker 1: and he basically has himself pointed out that like every
- 37:12Speaker 1: time that the Marines have caught up to us, it's
- 37:16Speaker 1: been when my brother is around, and as soon as
- 37:19Speaker 1: he takes off alone by himself, we are getting away
- 37:23Speaker 1: with shit right left and center, and we haven't seen
- 37:26Speaker 1: hid nor hair of the fucking Marines this whole time.
- 37:29Speaker 1: It could just be a coincidence, and I hope it is.
- 37:33Speaker 1: I don't want to think this of him, but I
- 37:35Speaker 1: do have to face the facts about you know, this
- 37:39Speaker 1: coincidence happening and what this looks like. So do Flamingo
- 37:44Speaker 1: is no idiot, and I am really really curious, Like.
- 37:52Speaker 2: I just there there is like there are.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Different ways that this all could go that I would
- 37:59Speaker 1: have been also is to see play out, just because
- 38:01Speaker 1: I'm really I don't feel like I know him well
- 38:03Speaker 1: enough to predict what it is that he would have done.
- 38:07Speaker 1: But yeah, like on this end of things, like Cora
- 38:13Speaker 1: Soone says, I think that he knows, and I think
- 38:17Speaker 1: that like getting me to eat the fruit has nothing
- 38:20Speaker 1: to do with trust, he knows that the way the
- 38:24Speaker 1: fruit kills me, like it would be that I would
- 38:27Speaker 1: kill myself. And you can say that if I refuse
- 38:31Speaker 1: to do it, that makes me a traitor.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Which also you could refuse to do it.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Like obviously I get what he's saying that Do Flamingo
- 38:46Speaker 1: would say, if you're really loyal to me, you would
- 38:48Speaker 1: sacrifice yourself. But also it is funny to me that
- 38:53Speaker 1: it's like, if you're disloyal and you are working with
- 38:56Speaker 1: the Marines, then I'll kill you. But if you are loyal,
- 39:00Speaker 1: then you are going to kill yourself, so you wind
- 39:02Speaker 1: up dead. And it's not really seeming like there's a
- 39:05Speaker 1: lot of motivation to keep working with DOPHI. You know,
- 39:09Speaker 1: I just don't feel like he has made a compelling
- 39:12Speaker 1: case for himself, That's all I'm saying. So this is
- 39:20Speaker 1: when he gets in contact with Sengoku about where the
- 39:25Speaker 1: rosinante that is, what the name is that keeps coming
- 39:28Speaker 1: up when Corason is talking, but he gets word on
- 39:34Speaker 1: like where the fruit is being held, like what island
- 39:37Speaker 1: it's on, And Sengoku wants Cora soon to stay out
- 39:44Speaker 1: of it because he's hoping this is going to be
- 39:48Speaker 1: the way they manage to take down the entire Do
- 39:51Speaker 1: Flamingo family all at once. But things have gotten quite
- 39:57Speaker 1: serious over here.
- 39:59Speaker 2: With Law.
- 40:00Speaker 1: He has collapsed. He is bright red because he is feverish.
- 40:05Speaker 1: If things hadn't gotten so bad with him, I think
- 40:08Speaker 1: maybe Corasone would have laid back and just let the
- 40:12Speaker 1: Marines do their thing. But because he is trying so
- 40:16Speaker 1: desperately to help Law, he just takes matters into his
- 40:19Speaker 1: own hands. So we then have the little scene on
- 40:25Speaker 1: this snowy island. We get the backstory on the apop fruit.
- 40:33Speaker 1: There was some doctor who could do incredible things with
- 40:36Speaker 1: a scalpel, cure in curable diseases, that sort of thing.
- 40:41Speaker 2: But what the hell do I care.
- 40:43Speaker 1: I don't need to be a surgeon, not when you're
- 40:46Speaker 1: as rich as we're gonna be. And they're all essentially
- 40:50Speaker 1: thinking that they get to retire as soon as they
- 40:52Speaker 1: sell this devil fruit, because it's like five million berries
- 40:55Speaker 1: or five hundred million berries some amount that they all
- 40:58Speaker 1: feel they'll be able to chill out and never have
- 41:01Speaker 1: to work again kind of thing. At the bottom of
- 41:05Speaker 1: this huge hill, Law is left by himself, wrapped in
- 41:09Speaker 1: a blanket while Corassone goes off to get the fruit.
- 41:13Speaker 2: And it is I love when.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Occasionally we get these moments of Corasone trying to like
- 41:22Speaker 1: impress Law with his power, and Law is just like,
- 41:26Speaker 1: I don't get it.
- 41:27Speaker 2: Who cares? You know?
- 41:28Speaker 1: He gets a vase and he just smashes it and
- 41:30Speaker 1: it's like, see you didn't hear anything. And well, and
- 41:34Speaker 1: he has a cannon and he doesn't like a little
- 41:36Speaker 1: peace sign every time he does it, and it's just like, see,
- 41:39Speaker 1: you can't hear anything, and Law is just like, I
- 41:43Speaker 1: don't really, I don't really see, like what the point is,
- 41:46Speaker 1: what is that even good for? And every time he
- 41:49Speaker 1: says it, there's like an arrow that pierces his heart.
- 41:54Speaker 1: Baby five arms, baby, it says baby five arms here.
- 41:58Speaker 1: I didn't see that it's five arms in the subtitles
- 42:01Speaker 1: on this, But yeah, her powers are way cooler. And
- 42:05Speaker 1: he says like, well, when it comes to having a
- 42:07Speaker 1: peaceful night's sleep, no one beats me. And Law just says,
- 42:10Speaker 1: so what? And I had been feeling kind of the
- 42:14Speaker 1: same way. So once we get to see the way
- 42:16Speaker 1: that his power works for stealing the fruit, it's dope
- 42:19Speaker 1: as hell. Unfortunately, he is also extremely clumsy, so earlier
- 42:29Speaker 1: he tries to give Loss some water to like when
- 42:33Speaker 1: he gets really really sick, and he just spills it
- 42:36Speaker 1: everywhere and here. Even though he manages to capture the
- 42:40Speaker 1: fruit he gets he trips and falls right in front
- 42:46Speaker 1: of a bunch of guards, and he gets shot a
- 42:52Speaker 1: lot of times. I was very much like, you know,
- 42:55Speaker 1: you hear these these shots from far away from Law's perspective,
- 43:00Speaker 1: and I was sort of thinking, maybe we're being hinted
- 43:03Speaker 1: that maybe we're being misdirected, right, we were being made
- 43:07Speaker 1: to think that he got shot and he's going to
- 43:09Speaker 1: turn up and he's going to be okay. And it
- 43:11Speaker 1: does sort of seem like that for a moment, because
- 43:13Speaker 1: when he turns up, he is seemingly all right. But
- 43:21Speaker 1: as I also did have it in my head that like,
- 43:25Speaker 1: we haven't seen Corasone in the present, and the way
- 43:30Speaker 1: that Law he's still fighting do Flamingo in the present
- 43:34Speaker 1: and he says something about how Corasone's compassion really moved him,
- 43:40Speaker 1: and he says it in the past tense, So I
- 43:43Speaker 1: was sort of like, oh, my god, is it going
- 43:45Speaker 1: to turn out to be that he was killed here?
- 43:48Speaker 1: But I know that Law gets the fruit, So I
- 43:50Speaker 1: was like, you know, I just didn't see how that
- 43:55Speaker 1: was going to happen. It still could but I just
- 43:57Speaker 1: didn't see it at the time. So eventually Law is uh,
- 44:07Speaker 1: you know, Corassone catches up with him and he leaves behind.
- 44:13Speaker 1: We only see this patch of snow where all of
- 44:16Speaker 1: these soldiers had been gathered around him, and there's a
- 44:21Speaker 1: bunch of blood and one of them is grasping onto
- 44:25Speaker 1: a single black feather from his coat, and you see
- 44:29Speaker 1: his footprints going off in the distance.
- 44:31Speaker 2: So he got away, but there's plenty of blood and
- 44:34Speaker 2: it could be his blood.
- 44:35Speaker 1: It probably is there blood, you know, like it's feeling
- 44:38Speaker 1: like maybe we're all right after all. He uh wakes
- 44:43Speaker 1: Law up and makes him eat the fruit, and Law,
- 44:46Speaker 1: who doesn't realize the shape this guy is in at
- 44:49Speaker 1: this point, isn't as grateful as Corossome was hoping. And
- 44:55Speaker 1: also when Corason makes him eat it, he sort of
- 45:00Speaker 1: feels like you've made me have these powers that I
- 45:03Speaker 1: never asked for, you know, like there's just a sense
- 45:08Speaker 1: of like fighting it the whole time that I feel
- 45:12Speaker 1: wouldn't be there if he were aware how injured Chrosone is,
- 45:16Speaker 1: because it would just change the whole tone of this,
- 45:19Speaker 1: you know, and also not for nothing, he is sort
- 45:24Speaker 1: of thinking I could even eat it and not get
- 45:27Speaker 1: better anyway, Like you're treating this as if it's going
- 45:30Speaker 1: to be the cure, and we don't know that for
- 45:33Speaker 1: a fact, So, you know, so he makes Law chew
- 45:38Speaker 1: and swallow.
- 45:39Speaker 2: He does the like sphere of.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Soundproofing is all around them while they do this, and
- 45:47Speaker 1: Law looks down at his hands after he eats it,
- 45:50Speaker 1: and you see the patches on him don't seem to move,
- 45:55Speaker 1: like his skin doesn't change, but behind him there's like
- 45:59Speaker 1: this weird and he gets this like kind of psychedelic
- 46:04Speaker 1: background to him that I think is meant to indicate
- 46:06Speaker 1: that the devil fruit has the power has like taken
- 46:10Speaker 1: hold of him. So Cora here collapses and Law is
- 46:15Speaker 1: realizing how badly injured he is and is trying to
- 46:21Speaker 1: use the power that he allegedly has to save him,
- 46:26Speaker 1: which is so sad, like the fact that he does
- 46:29Speaker 1: have a power that probably could help if he knew
- 46:32Speaker 1: how to use it, but it's brand fucking new. You know,
- 46:37Speaker 1: I hated this so much. So Cora says, all right, look,
- 46:44Speaker 1: we've got to staunch the bleeding.
- 46:47Speaker 2: But uh, we've got the fruit. That's great.
- 46:50Speaker 1: The thing is that this isn't going to be enough
- 46:52Speaker 1: to stop do Flamingo. I know you're in bad shape,
- 46:55Speaker 1: but I need to ask you a favor. There's a
- 46:57Speaker 1: navy lookout ship on the west coast of the island.
- 47:00Speaker 1: Take this and hand this over to them. And he
- 47:02Speaker 1: has this little like I don't know what you want
- 47:07Speaker 1: to call it, but it's meant to hold a single
- 47:09Speaker 1: scroll and it has a lock on it, so it's
- 47:11Speaker 1: a secret message. And he says, if a marine sees this,
- 47:14Speaker 1: they'll know exactly what to do with it.
- 47:16Speaker 2: This one little.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Package will save a country. He gives it to Law,
- 47:21Speaker 1: who is resistant because he hates the Marines after the
- 47:26Speaker 1: way that they treated his island. And I completely get that,
- 47:33Speaker 1: but Cora appeals to his desire to keep other people
- 47:37Speaker 1: from being hurt and is like, look, if you like
- 47:42Speaker 1: do this, you're gonna save a lot of people. And
- 47:45Speaker 1: as soon as you do it, then we are going
- 47:46Speaker 1: to be able to get off this island and it'll
- 47:48Speaker 1: be fine.
- 47:49Speaker 2: We'll travel the world.
- 47:51Speaker 1: And so he wanders off, and this is when he
- 47:55Speaker 1: runs into Vigo, who, unfortunately Law leads right back to
- 48:06Speaker 1: Cora and is like, hey, you have to help him.
- 48:09Speaker 1: I don't know what I would do if he doesn't survive,
- 48:14Speaker 1: Like the whole thing with Law and how emotional he
- 48:16Speaker 1: gets when he's not in front of Coorra about saving
- 48:19Speaker 1: Coorra is very touching. And then we get the like flashback.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Verico is an extremely powerful individual right now, he's away
- 48:29Speaker 1: from the family on a secret operation, but the details
- 48:32Speaker 1: of that are between him and Dophy. That guy has
- 48:35Speaker 1: nothing to do with you, so forget about him. And
- 48:38Speaker 1: we come to the present of Law realizing that he
- 48:41Speaker 1: has just like basically given his dude away, and.
- 48:47Speaker 2: The man just.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Pulls the fucking lock right off of the message and
- 48:52Speaker 1: is able to read it. And apparently this wasn't something
- 48:59Speaker 1: that Cora was aware of. That Vigo's mission was to
- 49:03Speaker 1: go and infiltrate the navy, so he you know, even
- 49:08Speaker 1: even had he been able to like warn, there was
- 49:13Speaker 1: just no way. There was just no way that he
- 49:15Speaker 1: could have foreseen this. But he's just like, this is
- 49:18Speaker 1: just a sick joke that he's the one that Law
- 49:22Speaker 1: runs into, and he comes crawling toward Virgo, who just
- 49:29Speaker 1: kicks Cora in the face, and considering like what bad
- 49:32Speaker 1: shape Cora is already in, it just seems so extra
- 49:35Speaker 1: cruel and then let's see. Oh right, I forgot that
- 49:43Speaker 1: bringing Law from hospital to hospital has made him kind
- 49:47Speaker 1: of notorious because everybody with white lead disease has died basically,
- 49:52Speaker 1: so him being the one person who survived. Everybody is
- 49:57Speaker 1: talking about this kid who's like terrorizing the countryside is
- 50:01Speaker 1: the way it's been described, and Vigo picks him up
- 50:05Speaker 1: by the head and is like, oh, that's you. You
- 50:08Speaker 1: guys are the ones who ran off. You need to
- 50:11Speaker 1: learn some respect, kid. If you know my position, then
- 50:14Speaker 1: you should have this sense to call me mister Vigo.
- 50:19Speaker 1: And he chucks Law like forty feet and considering that
- 50:24Speaker 1: this is like a child and also somebody who is
- 50:29Speaker 1: really really sick, Virgo Jesus Christ. So he tears up
- 50:34Speaker 1: the scroll and it's just like, man, you really were
- 50:38Speaker 1: about to give them fucking everything. I guess it's a
- 50:42Speaker 1: good thing I was able to intercept this, but we
- 50:45Speaker 1: do have some unfinished business. And he starts to head
- 50:51Speaker 1: toward Law. Corasone puts himself between Virgo and Law, and
- 50:58Speaker 1: Vigo calls Cora sown a rat, and it's like, I
- 51:02Speaker 1: can't believe that you would betray the family over a child.
- 51:06Speaker 1: You were a you are a disgrace and he rips
- 51:11Speaker 1: his shirt off.
- 51:13Speaker 2: He does that what do you call it? Enforcement?
- 51:18Speaker 1: Oh my god, you guys know what I'm talking about.
- 51:20Speaker 1: The hockey that that makes you turn like black and
- 51:25Speaker 1: metallic looking. And he says, like you're his brother. I
- 51:31Speaker 1: you know what, I don't feel bad about doing this
- 51:33Speaker 1: to you because you earned this fate. And he punches
- 51:37Speaker 1: him in the chest repeatedly, where this guy has been
- 51:40Speaker 1: shot already like four or five times. You see Law
- 51:44Speaker 1: like kind of far away watching as he gets chucked
- 51:48Speaker 1: to the ground, and then Vergo just like bends over
- 51:52Speaker 1: him and keeps punching the shit out of him. It
- 51:55Speaker 1: is a real brutal beating. Honestly, it's a cop the
- 52:00Speaker 1: Nation of the like he he even when he when
- 52:06Speaker 1: Law calls out to him and he stops, he makes
- 52:09Speaker 1: sure to like step on Corassone's hand as he walks
- 52:12Speaker 1: over to Law.
- 52:14Speaker 2: And I think it's.
- 52:16Speaker 1: Armament hockey, right, That's the one that I'm thinking of.
- 52:20Speaker 1: So he he's like still using that, and you know,
- 52:23Speaker 1: he's up against somebody who he doesn't even know has
- 52:26Speaker 1: a devil fruit power, so turning on the armament hockey
- 52:29Speaker 1: to just deal with like regular ass people is so
- 52:34Speaker 1: overkill and just a real shit move. Like I was
- 52:40Speaker 1: just startled at how gross Virgo was right from the start,
- 52:47Speaker 1: And later on we have him like getting ready to
- 52:53Speaker 1: leave put his like marine outfit back on, he says
- 52:59Speaker 1: into the transponder, Snail. They're both breathing barely. But Corastone
- 53:05Speaker 1: was a spy from the Navy. He's been working with
- 53:08Speaker 1: them on a plot to take out the family and
- 53:11Speaker 1: they're probably onto our devil fruit plan. Where are you
- 53:15Speaker 1: right now? And do Flamingo says, I was watching the
- 53:18Speaker 1: rendezvous spa on Swallow Island, but I noticed two warships
- 53:22Speaker 1: approach from a distance, and after that I couldn't hide
- 53:24Speaker 1: from the truth anymore. My sweet little brother was bearing
- 53:28Speaker 1: his fangs at me. And although that's unfortunate, it did
- 53:35Speaker 1: remind me of something important. You guys are my real family.
- 53:41Speaker 1: I suppose I had to face that reality sooner or later.
- 53:46Speaker 1: And this makes a lot of sense why like his
- 53:49Speaker 1: crew winds up being so incredibly important to him. Is
- 53:53Speaker 1: like the loyalty thing above all else, and they are
- 53:59Speaker 1: just like laying waste to the people that they're coming
- 54:02Speaker 1: across there on I think he calls it Minion Island
- 54:05Speaker 1: or something, but he tells, uh, Vigo, don't let him
- 54:12Speaker 1: go anywhere because he has the ap op fruit and
- 54:15Speaker 1: Vigo is like, all right, sure, and then he turns
- 54:18Speaker 1: around and realizes they're gone already, and Dopamingo is like,
- 54:21Speaker 1: all right, I heard, I heard you, so clearly they
- 54:25Speaker 1: are already gone, but they've got to be on the
- 54:27Speaker 1: island still, so we'll hunt them down soon enough. And
- 54:32Speaker 1: we see him activating his bird cage technique and this like,
- 54:40Speaker 1: you guys, this whole thing and the fact that this
- 54:43Speaker 1: power is just so much and that he can cover
- 54:46Speaker 1: an entire island with it is insanity, Like it just
- 54:53Speaker 1: we have seen powers that are able to cover great
- 54:56Speaker 1: distances before and I said that in the you know,
- 54:58Speaker 1: when he did this on Dre But still it's just bonkers.
- 55:05Speaker 1: And we have people like trying to grab onto them
- 55:07Speaker 1: and finding out that they're like really sharp, and uh,
- 55:12Speaker 1: Cora Stone has managed to pick up Law and get
- 55:16Speaker 1: inside a building, but he's looking out there seeing all
- 55:21Speaker 1: of the chaos and realizes like, oh yeah, he's got
- 55:24Speaker 1: us locked in here. He knows we're here. This fucking sucks,
- 55:29Speaker 1: Like there's gonna be no way out of this, and Law,
- 55:33Speaker 1: who is on the ground still like in bad shape,
- 55:37Speaker 1: asks Cora, what's going on out there? It doesn't look
- 55:40Speaker 1: like eating the devil fruit helped him. He really still
- 55:44Speaker 1: looks like he is feeling as badly as he was before.
- 55:49Speaker 2: And uh, Cora.
- 55:51Speaker 1: Bends down next to him, and we have this little
- 55:54Speaker 1: like flashback to you know, the two of them like
- 55:58Speaker 1: getting to know each other, to be in with and
- 56:01Speaker 1: Cora says, you know, I am gonna have to go,
- 56:05Speaker 1: but I hope you remember me when I'm gone, and
- 56:08Speaker 1: I promise I'll go out with a smile. And then
- 56:15Speaker 1: he snaps his fingers. Maybe it's not worth much, but
- 56:19Speaker 1: if you do think back on me someday, he gets
- 56:23Speaker 1: he smiles here and one of his teeth is missing.
- 56:27Speaker 1: I'd rather you remembered me smiling. And he has done
- 56:31Speaker 1: that sound thing here, and it's just like it's a
- 56:40Speaker 1: really like they have developed a relationship here that has
- 56:43Speaker 1: worked on me and him being covered in blood and
- 56:47Speaker 1: missing a tooth and smiling down at Law, who like
- 56:50Speaker 1: screams when he opens his eyes and sees what a
- 56:52Speaker 1: messy is. It was kind of funny in a way,
- 56:57Speaker 1: but uh, yeah, I really really liked this.
- 56:59Speaker 2: I am.
- 57:01Speaker 1: I am hoping somehow Corassone is out there still alive,
- 57:06Speaker 1: but it really isn't looking like that's likely. Uh and
- 57:12Speaker 1: let's see, Seraphim says, uh, rock Sonante whatever it was
- 57:19Speaker 1: is chorus. Actual name Corasone is more title in Dophie's
- 57:22Speaker 1: organization and more Oda loving his thematic naming given it's
- 57:25Speaker 1: the name of don Quixote's horse. Ah okay and armament
- 57:31Speaker 1: harky hockey.
- 57:32Speaker 2: That was it? Okay, good, I finally remembered.
- 57:34Speaker 1: But but yeah, I really really like these episodes. I
- 57:38Speaker 1: like this backstory, and I like Corasson's overall design, And
- 57:43Speaker 1: like I said, I really think that him and Barcela
- 57:45Speaker 1: Maa would get along. They're both like just dudes who
- 57:49Speaker 1: wanna like do their best and have good hearts and
- 57:55Speaker 1: are trying, you know, to like emulate what they think
- 58:01Speaker 1: is right. And I just I don't know, I just
- 58:03Speaker 1: really want the two of them to meet and just
- 58:05Speaker 1: become besties real bad. All right, So I'm gonna wrap
- 58:10Speaker 1: this up, But thank you guys again for listening. Thank
- 58:13Speaker 1: you to Florian for commissioning this one. Thank you to Seraphim.
- 58:15Speaker 2: For joining in the chat.
- 58:17Speaker 1: I hope everybody is enjoying the coverage and until next
- 58:20Speaker 1: time to the Loo, motherfuckers. That was an unspoiled network podcast.
