- 0:00Speaker 1: Alex Caravan back with us on the Yukon Men's Basketball
- 0:03Speaker 1: Coaches Show. We talked to Dan Hurley a few moments ago,
- 0:06Speaker 1: and Dan played a lot of games Alex in the
- 0:08Speaker 1: Big East Tournament over his years as a seat and
- 0:11Speaker 1: hall player, and he always raves about being in that building.
- 0:14Speaker 1: And I want to get your impressions because it's hard.
- 0:17Speaker 1: You know, we're broadcasters. You know, we used to be
- 0:20Speaker 1: on the floor. We had a great view. Now we're
- 0:22Speaker 1: up higher, not quite the same. But for you stepping
- 0:25Speaker 1: onto that court, whether it's Saint John's, whether it's a
- 0:29Speaker 1: Big East Championship game, whether it's the first round on
- 0:32Speaker 1: a Thursday, what kind of feeling do you get walking
- 0:35Speaker 1: into that building.
- 0:37Speaker 2: It's a super exciting feeling and you just feel the
- 0:39Speaker 2: electricity from the jump, especially when I always remember my
- 0:43Speaker 2: freshman year going out there for the first time and
- 0:46Speaker 2: really just seeing how special that arena is and just
- 0:49Speaker 2: how historic it is and how so many ledges, not
- 0:51Speaker 2: just in sports, but singers and so many different things,
- 0:55Speaker 2: so many different people just going out there and performing
- 0:58Speaker 2: an MSG and just talk about the lights, electricity, and
- 1:01Speaker 2: when the fans get involved too, it's something it's such
- 1:04Speaker 2: a unique experience that you don't take for granted.
- 1:06Speaker 3: So I love playing an MSG no matter who it is,
- 1:09Speaker 3: and it's one of the best feelings.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Well, you got at least one more game there. We're
- 1:14Speaker 1: hoping three next week. And you know, is it not
- 1:19Speaker 1: it's a road venue, but it's not really because Yukon
- 1:23Speaker 1: Nation and they get on the trains and the boats
- 1:26Speaker 1: and the planes it seems like, and they pour into
- 1:28Speaker 1: that place. That's got to be a good feeling.
- 1:31Speaker 4: No, it's awesome when the Yukon Nation goes out and
- 1:33Speaker 4: support us a MSG.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Just the fan base is one of a kind and
- 1:37Speaker 3: they travel so well, I mean they travel anywhere we play,
- 1:40Speaker 3: and I think that's such a blessing to have.
- 1:43Speaker 4: And not many programs do that.
- 1:44Speaker 3: And for you kind of do that and really take
- 1:47Speaker 3: pride in wanting to see the team win, to try
- 1:50Speaker 3: to give us every little advantage, especially at MSG, I
- 1:53Speaker 3: think it's special.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it definitely is winning on the road. You guys
- 1:57Speaker 1: have done some of that this year. Eight and one. Oh,
- 2:00Speaker 1: that's a that's a great record. One at will bylan
- 2:03Speaker 1: Over recently, one at Kansas earlier in the year that
- 2:05Speaker 1: never happened before. In Yukon history, and I think winning
- 2:08Speaker 1: a Seaton Hall was asbout as good as it gets
- 2:11Speaker 1: because pirates will be giving you a lot of trouble.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I think that was one thing you said before that game.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I've never won in this building.
- 2:17Speaker 4: It's about time.
- 2:18Speaker 3: No, definitely, I think I think winning on the road
- 2:22Speaker 3: is one of the best feelings, just trying to just
- 2:24Speaker 3: get in a road kill and really seeing the opposing
- 2:27Speaker 3: fans leave and just the excitement you get from that.
- 2:31Speaker 4: I think. I think it's special.
- 2:33Speaker 3: And we always know when Yukon travels, we usually get
- 2:37Speaker 3: the best crowds from the best programs, and you know,
- 2:41Speaker 3: it can make a make a little more difficult for us,
- 2:43Speaker 3: but at the end of the day, I think it
- 2:44Speaker 3: just makes it more fun.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it's funny when you say that, because the crowd
- 2:49Speaker 1: when you win on the road, I'm thinking of Kansas now, man,
- 2:52Speaker 1: was it quiet but during the game you couldn't even
- 2:55Speaker 1: hear yourself.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Think, definitely, that's that's definitely the loudest place I've played,
- 3:00Speaker 3: and it's such a unique experience. I Mean, you always
- 3:04Speaker 3: hear about allen Field House and what it's like, but
- 3:08Speaker 3: it's it's hard to really believe it or think about
- 3:12Speaker 3: until you really experience it.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it's unbelievable. You also got to go to Boston
- 3:16Speaker 1: again TD Garden against BYU, which is a heck of
- 3:20Speaker 1: a game. That to me, when you play in your backyard,
- 3:24Speaker 1: there's nothing really like that, is there?
- 3:27Speaker 4: No, definitely not. I mean TD Garden special for me.
- 3:30Speaker 3: I mean I'm an entire New England fan and always
- 3:33Speaker 3: been a Celtics fan, always been a Bruins fan, so
- 3:36Speaker 3: would go to games all the time when I was
- 3:38Speaker 3: younger there and to have an experience where I was
- 3:40Speaker 3: able to play three games there, go through and all
- 3:42Speaker 3: my college career TD Garden, it's a blessing and it's
- 3:47Speaker 3: home for me.
- 3:48Speaker 4: I always get that special.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Feeling, just that excitement knowing that I'm back in a familiar,
- 3:52Speaker 3: earlier area.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Alex Caraban with us. You come forward, We'll be back
- 3:57Speaker 1: in just a moment. A few final thoughts from him.
- 4:00Speaker 1: This is the Yukon Men's Basketball Coaches Show on Liarfield
