- 0:08Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorites, the podcast presented by BET three
- 0:12Speaker 1: sixty five. We are part of the Volume Podcast Network.
- 0:16Speaker 1: I am Chad Melman, Chief Content Officer of the Action Network.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I'm joined as always by my co host, my companion,
- 0:23Speaker 1: my compadre, my BFF Professional Better Assignment Hunter and os
- 0:27Speaker 1: im In.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Hello, Chad, did you enjoy that USA basketball? My friend?
- 0:32Speaker 1: I'm so sad the Olympics are over. I love that
- 0:35Speaker 1: you and I talked about gold Zone, which it felt
- 0:38Speaker 1: like we were just getting into rhythm for NFL season.
- 0:42Speaker 1: But man, I have watched every angle that anyone has
- 0:45Speaker 1: put on social media about that last Steph Curry shot.
- 0:50Speaker 1: He was so pure and so joyful and so good
- 0:55Speaker 1: at something that is so hard. It is exactly why
- 0:58Speaker 1: he belongs in the converse for top ten players of
- 1:01Speaker 1: all time. And I feel like if there was any debate,
- 1:05Speaker 1: this game settled it.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07Speaker 4: And it was also just like the cherry on the
- 1:09Speaker 4: top right of this last twenty years of Lebron Durant
- 1:13Speaker 4: to Steph. It's like, if you're an NBA fan, those
- 1:15Speaker 4: were the guys, And I know, I think it's tops.
- 1:17Speaker 2: They're putting out some type of card with the three
- 1:19Speaker 2: of them on there.
- 1:20Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, everyone's going.
- 1:21Speaker 4: Crazy right about it. I get it, Like it's if
- 1:24Speaker 4: you're a basketball fan. I know basketball has plenty of
- 1:27Speaker 4: haters and it's fun to be a hater, but the
- 1:29Speaker 4: true basketball fans that's like, those are the guys like
- 1:33Speaker 4: we know that. Not that we're going about to go
- 1:35Speaker 4: to a down period here, but we really had this
- 1:37Speaker 4: crazy run of these crazy stars. And you know, Steph Curry,
- 1:42Speaker 4: he just when he wants to be the greatest shooter
- 1:44Speaker 4: ever he can be, and it's like no one could
- 1:47Speaker 4: just turn on and off. If you watched like you said,
- 1:48Speaker 4: you watch those highlights he I don't think he touched
- 1:51Speaker 4: the ball from like midway to the third quarter to
- 1:53Speaker 4: the final three minutes of the game, and then every
- 1:56Speaker 4: time he was just carrying the ball up the court
- 1:57Speaker 4: and it was just like he knew this was his moment.
- 2:00Speaker 4: So yeah, as just a fan of you know, the
- 2:03Speaker 4: NBA and everything it is, you know, that's not that
- 2:07Speaker 4: he's my favorite player. I think i'd still have Lebron's
- 2:08Speaker 4: my favorite player. But Steph Curry, man, like you said,
- 2:11Speaker 4: it's you kind of put himself on that top ten list.
- 2:13Speaker 2: It's it's hard to take them off fit.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Now we have more late breaking news than the Americans
- 2:19Speaker 1: winning the Gold medal.
- 2:20Speaker 3: For today's show, which is.
- 2:22Speaker 1: The sixth installment in our annual NFL Division preview series,
- 2:27Speaker 1: we are discussing the NFC East Today, Simon, we are jooled.
- 2:31Speaker 3: By our favorite of the favorites regular.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Guests, My antagonist on our Sunday morning NFL preview show
- 2:41Speaker 1: convinced me, which we'll start again with the first Sunday
- 2:44Speaker 1: of the NFL season, available on YouTube and the Action
- 2:47Speaker 1: Network up. He is the co host of the Action
- 2:49Speaker 1: Network podcast. He is Chris raybaond Ray.
- 2:55Speaker 3: What's going on?
- 2:56Speaker 6: Brother?
- 2:57Speaker 5: What's up? Guys?
- 2:58Speaker 6: I actually got a question for both of you, since
- 3:00Speaker 6: since we're talking about basketball, would you rather go to
- 3:07Speaker 6: a Rams Chargers preseason game or a regular season Sparks
- 3:15Speaker 6: Sky game?
- 3:16Speaker 1: Uh?
- 3:17Speaker 6: With keeping in mind that I haven't seen Angel Reese yet,
- 3:20Speaker 6: I've seen Caitlin Clark play already.
- 3:23Speaker 1: One w NBA game. Hey, I've been to it. I've
- 3:26Speaker 1: been to a Chargers Rams preseason game with you, and
- 3:29Speaker 1: that stadium is amazing. Loved it, totally loved it. But like,
- 3:36Speaker 1: there's there's too much fun stuff happening with the w
- 3:39Speaker 1: NBA right now, and the level of intensity is going
- 3:41Speaker 1: to be better, the betting is gonna be better, the
- 3:44Speaker 1: action and crowd is going to be better. I'd like
- 3:46Speaker 1: the energy at the a w NBA game sign it.
- 3:50Speaker 4: I mean obvious, I'm gonna go pre season football if
- 3:52Speaker 4: I'm gonna, if I'm gonna get my drink on or
- 3:54Speaker 4: you take a gummy, I'm gonna. I'm gonna do the
- 3:56Speaker 4: preseason football. But you really can't go wrong either way.
- 3:59Speaker 4: But I'm a little biased just because won that stadium,
- 4:02Speaker 4: and I just Chad knows.
- 4:04Speaker 2: I love watching the second stringers.
- 4:06Speaker 4: It's like it's fun in person, seeing the guys in person,
- 4:08Speaker 4: like noticing little things where you know on TV you
- 4:11Speaker 4: can't watch guys after the play. That's what's so good
- 4:13Speaker 4: about being in person.
- 4:14Speaker 2: So yeah, definitely a tough choice by go football.
- 4:18Speaker 6: Yeah, I think it's going to be made for me
- 4:19Speaker 6: because I got a brunch at ten am, But I
- 4:22Speaker 6: would have to leave it pretty early or super early,
- 4:24Speaker 6: but somewhat early to get to the Sparks game because
- 4:27Speaker 6: it's at two in the preseason games at four, So
- 4:30Speaker 6: I'll probably end up going to the preseason game. But
- 4:32Speaker 6: this is the last time Andrew Reese is coming to
- 4:35Speaker 6: LA so I did kind of want to see her,
- 4:36Speaker 6: So I'm still torn.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Probably that's important enough for you to get up at
- 4:42Speaker 1: ten am.
- 4:42Speaker 3: That's what I want to.
- 4:43Speaker 6: Go visitors in time, my couple of my boys from
- 4:47Speaker 6: from Syracuse, so you know, I'm got to show them around.
- 4:51Speaker 5: So yeah, it's just very unlike me.
- 4:53Speaker 6: I would probably be just knocked out sleeping on a
- 4:56Speaker 6: Saturday morning at ten am.
- 4:57Speaker 5: You're absolutely correct.
- 5:00Speaker 1: We have very important news to discuss before we get
- 5:02Speaker 1: into discussing the NFC East today it was announced breaking news.
- 5:06Speaker 1: We're recording this on Wednesday afternoon. JJ McCarthy out for
- 5:10Speaker 1: the year, torn meniscus for the Vikings. On the show
- 5:14Speaker 1: last week, Simon and I talked about the NFC North.
- 5:19Speaker 3: The Vikings six and a half to the under. We
- 5:24Speaker 3: liked it. We also liked potentially the Vikings for the
- 5:27Speaker 3: worst record. Raybon.
- 5:29Speaker 1: I know you and Stock you talked about Vikings potentially
- 5:33Speaker 1: the last team to win a game on the Action
- 5:35Speaker 1: Network podcast going back in May. So first for you, Raybon,
- 5:41Speaker 1: how does this impact any of your thinking about the
- 5:44Speaker 1: Vikings overvalue, undervalue knowing sam Donold's going to be the quarterback,
- 5:50Speaker 1: not going to be quarterback controversies.
- 5:52Speaker 3: How does this change things for you? If at all?
- 5:56Speaker 6: It really doesn't shout to my boy Chris Thompson, who
- 5:58Speaker 6: was just text to be saying, and he's a Vikings fan,
- 6:00Speaker 6: he was saying, you know, I can't believe the market
- 6:03Speaker 6: hasn't really reacted to this. And then total, the win
- 6:06Speaker 6: total is still at six and a half, and I said, honestly,
- 6:08Speaker 6: I have both of those quarterbacks rated pretty equally in
- 6:11Speaker 6: terms of how they're going to affect the spread. You know,
- 6:15Speaker 6: Donald is a known quantity and McCarthy does have more
- 6:18Speaker 6: upside long term.
- 6:19Speaker 5: But as a rookie especially, you know when that.
- 6:22Speaker 6: We kind of knew was gonna miss it was not
- 6:24Speaker 6: going to start from week one, they kind of grayed
- 6:27Speaker 6: out about the same for me. So no real movement here.
- 6:30Speaker 6: I mean, if I'm betting a Vikings win total, I'm
- 6:33Speaker 6: winning under though, because the NFC, I think there's you know, eight,
- 6:36Speaker 6: like nine, ten to eleven playoff contenders and the Vikings
- 6:40Speaker 6: are not really.
- 6:41Speaker 5: One of them.
- 6:42Speaker 6: In my opinion, I think they're a worse team in
- 6:44Speaker 6: had divisions, So I do think the Vikings are going
- 6:47Speaker 6: to have a rough go at it now, But maybe
- 6:49Speaker 6: we get some Nick Mhens and Jared Hall at some
- 6:52Speaker 6: point too if Donald struggles, So just more reason to
- 6:57Speaker 6: go with the under for me.
- 6:59Speaker 4: Simon, I mean, it's pretty simple for me, Chad. The
- 7:02Speaker 4: only thing I really fear in life is the unknown,
- 7:04Speaker 4: and the unknown.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Was JJ That's that's gone. I know what Sam Donald is.
- 7:08Speaker 4: I think Evan Abrams just tweeted out, you know, since
- 7:12Speaker 4: he was drafted in twenty eighteen, he's the worst quarterback
- 7:15Speaker 4: against the spreading all football.
- 7:16Speaker 2: He's twenty two thirty three and one, Chad, Like, I
- 7:20Speaker 2: get it.
- 7:20Speaker 4: People want to be like, oh, he went to Kyl
- 7:22Speaker 4: Shannon and QB Whisper. He ain't no QB Whisper. He
- 7:24Speaker 4: ain't Sean McVay.
- 7:25Speaker 2: This.
- 7:25Speaker 4: This is a man that runs a great system. Jimmy
- 7:28Speaker 4: g left the forty nine ers. He just turned back
- 7:30Speaker 4: into poop. That's why I think Sam Donald's going to be.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Like he might, he might win a game here and there.
- 7:34Speaker 4: Right, we've seen him string together a couple of good quarters.
- 7:38Speaker 4: His issue is long term consistency, and once it goes bad,
- 7:41Speaker 4: it starts to go really bad, Like he unravels.
- 7:44Speaker 2: He unravels really bad.
- 7:46Speaker 4: So I get if Vikings fans are dooming gloom, because
- 7:49Speaker 4: how would you not be excited about j J. What
- 7:51Speaker 4: are he just in the preseason? Even if preseasons is
- 7:53Speaker 4: irrelevant to all of us, you can lie to yourself,
- 7:56Speaker 4: you can be excited to be like, well, after one turnover,
- 7:58Speaker 4: the kid came out through two touch shuns in a
- 8:00Speaker 4: row through for one hundred yards.
- 8:01Speaker 2: That's exciting.
- 8:03Speaker 4: I mean Sam Donald came out there, went fourth eight
- 8:05Speaker 4: and threw an incompletion on fourth and two in the
- 8:06Speaker 4: red zone.
- 8:07Speaker 2: That was that's him.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Like, So that's that's why I get why Mostky fans
- 8:11Speaker 4: are doom and gloom.
- 8:12Speaker 2: But I think Sean said it like you.
- 8:14Speaker 4: Will see punnets in the media, and I know plenty
- 8:17Speaker 4: of professional betters who are like, they want to give
- 8:19Speaker 4: him this last chance, Sam Donald, this last runner. It's
- 8:22Speaker 4: like he could have that Baker season, that Gino Smith season.
- 8:25Speaker 4: And I think Christi has said it, it's like in
- 8:27Speaker 4: that division in the NFC, the wins just aren't there.
- 8:30Speaker 4: The competition's too stiff. I don't I don't see how
- 8:32Speaker 4: they're gonna have easy games. Where you know we went
- 8:35Speaker 4: crazy because you know Smith went ninety eight. I will
- 8:38Speaker 4: go absolutely crazy if somehow Sam Donald gets nine to
- 8:40Speaker 4: eight with this team. So I'm feeling pretty good in
- 8:42Speaker 4: my position chat.
- 8:43Speaker 2: But yeah, I am.
- 8:44Speaker 4: I am shocked. The market has not reacted at all.
- 8:46Speaker 4: People people seem to believe in Sam Donald. I just
- 8:49Speaker 4: I'm a total seller on this kid.
- 8:51Speaker 1: By the way, Whoop, Like of all the times you
- 8:56Speaker 1: decide to hold back and not get aggressive and abrasive,
- 9:01Speaker 1: it's you decide to go with poop.
- 9:04Speaker 3: I'm Jimmy Garoppolo. Oh boy.
- 9:06Speaker 1: As a reminder of the Favorites podcast is presented by

- 10:20Speaker 5: I saw.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Stucky and Raybon recently, and I was sitting with them,
- 10:28Speaker 1: and I looked at them and I thought, I can't
- 10:31Speaker 1: believe these are two the guys that I hitched my
- 10:36Speaker 1: freaking career too. I left ESPN and we launched Action Network.
- 10:42Speaker 1: It's astonishing to me. All right, Reminder, we're going to
- 10:45Speaker 1: the nfcas in nineteen of the past twenty one years,
- 10:49Speaker 1: ninety one percent of the seasons an NFL team has
- 10:52Speaker 1: gone from worst to first in its division. During our previews,
- 10:56Speaker 1: we talked about at least one of those teams that
- 10:58Speaker 1: we think has a really good shot, the Bengals. I
- 11:01Speaker 1: know Raybon also thinks the Panthers are undervalued and might
- 11:04Speaker 1: want to play a long shot on their chances to
- 11:07Speaker 1: win the NFC South. In the NFC East, Cowboys finished first,
- 11:12Speaker 1: the Commanders finished last. I don't think we're going to
- 11:16Speaker 1: see that in this division, but you never know.
- 11:18Speaker 3: We're going to run through.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Its Eagles short starts to win the division. Right now,
- 11:33Speaker 1: they are fifteen to one to win the Super Bowl.
- 11:37Speaker 1: They are at plus one hundred to win the division.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Their win total is ten and a half. As everybody knows,
- 11:43Speaker 1: I'd like to go through strength of schedule according to
- 11:47Speaker 1: Futures Markets for season win totals, the line ranking according
- 11:51Speaker 1: to Pro Football Focus, and the d line ranking according
- 11:53Speaker 1: to Pro Football Focus. Right now, Eagles have the ninth
- 11:57Speaker 1: easiest schedule, second best line rank.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Even without Kelsey.
- 12:01Speaker 1: People are hoping that Cam Jurgens can move from guard
- 12:05Speaker 1: where he was a middle of the road player, but
- 12:07Speaker 1: they still have Jordan Mailata. They have Lane Johnson, third
- 12:10Speaker 1: and thirteenth grader overall of their positions. Big question, how
- 12:15Speaker 1: effectively can Jurgens be replacing the Hall of Famer d Line.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Final part of the roundup, support went out for Fletcher Cox,
- 12:23Speaker 1: brilliant career, six time pro bowler, super Bowl champ. Define
- 12:27Speaker 1: this Philly d Line such a character. We loved Jalen
- 12:30Speaker 1: Carter last year as signon in his defensive Rookie of
- 12:33Speaker 1: the Year. He was the favorite all season until he
- 12:35Speaker 1: faded at the end and was taken over by Will Anderson.
- 12:37Speaker 1: That was a bit of a kick in the dick.
- 12:40Speaker 3: The real question here is ken Jordan Davis takeover.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Is the dominant player Fletcher Cox was and can Bryce
- 12:48Speaker 1: Huff be his dominant on the edge as Assan Reddick Raybon.
- 12:54Speaker 1: While Simon is a massive Eagles fan, you are rock
- 12:58Speaker 1: and the old school Randall Cunningham Jersey, I give you
- 13:03Speaker 1: first crack at assessing the Eagles.
- 13:08Speaker 5: Yeah, I like the Eagles.
- 13:09Speaker 6: I think the Eagles are the best bet to win
- 13:11Speaker 6: the NFC East. That even money, it's probably overall a
- 13:15Speaker 6: little bit over value, just because you know, it's probably
- 13:19Speaker 6: a little more than a two team race. I think
- 13:22Speaker 6: Washington has a long shot. So but if I'm betting
- 13:26Speaker 6: any one of these teams, I feel most confident in
- 13:28Speaker 6: the Eagles, and that's because they addressed what I think
- 13:33Speaker 6: really is. I know you talked about, you know, some
- 13:36Speaker 6: of the changes in the trenches, but the Eagles are
- 13:39Speaker 6: strong in the trenches.
- 13:40Speaker 5: I think they'll be okay.
- 13:42Speaker 6: They'll be somewhere from you know, good to too great,
- 13:46Speaker 6: you know, even with the changes. I think the big
- 13:49Speaker 6: question is if you watch the Eagles down or stretch
- 13:52Speaker 6: last year. I know, I know Simon knows they couldn't
- 13:55Speaker 6: handle a Blitz. Jalen Hurst just had no idea what
- 13:59Speaker 6: he was doing against the Blitz. So they go out,
- 14:02Speaker 6: Remember they had all that coordinator brain drain last year
- 14:06Speaker 6: and they had to switch things up after going to
- 14:07Speaker 6: Super Bowl. Both of their coordinators got hired away. So
- 14:10Speaker 6: now they go out to get Kellen Moore, who was
- 14:13Speaker 6: you know, longtime coordinator in Dallas. Then he went to
- 14:15Speaker 6: LA for a year to the Chargers. But I think
- 14:18Speaker 6: that's really the question. Can he solved those issues for
- 14:21Speaker 6: Jalen Hurts against the Blitz, Because if he can, I
- 14:26Speaker 6: think everything else is is gonna be cape for Philadelphia.
- 14:29Speaker 6: They addressed the secondary, the cornerback situation, which I think
- 14:34Speaker 6: was was big. You know, they took some guys in
- 14:36Speaker 6: the draft. You got Gardner Johnson back there at safety.
- 14:41Speaker 6: You know the offense, you got got Barkley, good running backs,
- 14:45Speaker 6: but handling the blitz. And also that third wide receiver spot,
- 14:49Speaker 6: just because you know, Brown and Smith haven't really missed
- 14:52Speaker 6: any time. If they do, it's gonna be a lot
- 14:55Speaker 6: more important that you know that number three spot. And
- 14:58Speaker 6: right now it's John Ross, it's Johnny Wilson, a rookie,
- 15:02Speaker 6: and it is Paris Campbell. So that could get a
- 15:06Speaker 6: little dicey for Philadelphia because you would want their third
- 15:11Speaker 6: wide receiver to be kind of like a Ross Campbell
- 15:14Speaker 6: type guy who can get open quick. I don't know
- 15:16Speaker 6: if those guys really can, but theoretically a guy like
- 15:19Speaker 6: that so that they can have more options. But I
- 15:22Speaker 6: think sae Quan will help a little bit. And I
- 15:25Speaker 6: do think Howie Roseman addressed the roster as well as
- 15:28Speaker 6: he could given the situation. And if you look at
- 15:33Speaker 6: the schedule, because they didn't win that division, you know,
- 15:35Speaker 6: you get a little bit of a break with the
- 15:38Speaker 6: second place schedule instead of the first place schedule. So
- 15:41Speaker 6: I'm high in Philadelphia. I think this is the year
- 15:43Speaker 6: you're kind of way back on Dallas a little bit.
- 15:46Speaker 6: We know how that goes in the NFC East. But
- 15:48Speaker 6: the Eagles are favored in thirteen of their seventeen games,
- 15:53Speaker 6: so I do think that they cruise to this division title.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Simon, I imagine you have a million thoughts on this team.
- 16:03Speaker 7: Uh.
- 16:04Speaker 1: I want to start with Raybound's comment about the blitz.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Do you see that is the key they need to
- 16:11Speaker 1: fix or is there something else?
- 16:13Speaker 2: No?
- 16:13Speaker 4: I think they've fixed that. I just think it was
- 16:17Speaker 4: all like again, I can't move Syrian.
- 16:19Speaker 2: He kept his job.
- 16:20Speaker 4: That was that was so fireable. The fact that he
- 16:23Speaker 4: couldn't get that adjustment, they're kill him more. Everything you've seen,
- 16:26Speaker 4: the adjustments been made where we have some of the
- 16:28Speaker 4: some the biggest issue we had no motion chat and
- 16:31Speaker 4: when there was no emotion, the blitz would set up
- 16:33Speaker 4: and they already.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Knew what we were running.
- 16:35Speaker 4: Like that, we were running four to five different plays,
- 16:37Speaker 4: so I threw out last year. My biggest issue was
- 16:40Speaker 4: always going to be can we cover the middle of
- 16:42Speaker 4: the field.
- 16:42Speaker 2: He cam Driggen step in and command.
- 16:44Speaker 4: This offense, because you just said to Kelsey, he's a
- 16:46Speaker 4: Hall of Fame, right, even Lane Johnson talked about it
- 16:49Speaker 4: like I think I saw a quote twodays ago, it's
- 16:51Speaker 4: weird not having his voice out there, like it's it's
- 16:54Speaker 4: gonna be weird not having the anchor, the man that's
- 16:57Speaker 4: been there for so long. But Cam Dring is his
- 16:59Speaker 4: handpicked by who other than Kelsey has been in practice
- 17:02Speaker 4: every day working with them, training with him, and he.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Was our guard for the last two years.
- 17:05Speaker 4: So it's like the guy who knows the offense, he
- 17:07Speaker 4: knows what's to run, he knows the calls. It's just obviously,
- 17:10Speaker 4: like you just said, Chat, it's an added pressure to it.
- 17:12Speaker 4: But my biggest issue with this team will always be
- 17:15Speaker 4: the linebacker position. Howie he goes sheep in different areas.
- 17:19Speaker 4: That's his that's his move, and it works right. How
- 17:21Speaker 4: He's won the best teams of football and that's where
- 17:22Speaker 4: he likes to go. Cheapest middle linebacker and outside linebacker.
- 17:26Speaker 4: I think Fangs is the one that said it. The
- 17:28Speaker 4: most important position in the NFL the last three years
- 17:30Speaker 4: has been outside linebacker. You look at the best teams
- 17:32Speaker 4: of football, Chat, they usually have a really good outside linebacker.
- 17:35Speaker 4: It's a big deal. So you know, did they fix
- 17:39Speaker 4: those issues yet? It's well, we'll see if they can
- 17:40Speaker 4: cover the middle of the field. That's my only real
- 17:42Speaker 4: question here. Like, like Chris just said, it's an issue
- 17:45Speaker 4: who the Eagles third receiver is on offense. That's a
- 17:47Speaker 4: great place to be. I'm feeling pretty good if that's
- 17:49Speaker 4: one of our big issues, our third receiver.
- 17:51Speaker 2: So it's like this.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Team is built to win now, and the NFC we're
- 17:56Speaker 4: all praying I already said it last week.
- 17:57Speaker 2: We're praying this how you trade goes down.
- 17:59Speaker 4: If you're a fan of a team in the NFC,
- 18:01Speaker 4: you want Ayuk off that team, go send him to nowhere.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Steelers, let him go play with them.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Please get him off the forty Niners because he is
- 18:08Speaker 4: one of the blessed the best blocking wide receivers on football.
- 18:11Speaker 2: And no one gets up.
- 18:12Speaker 4: I mean, his his success rate of getting an open
- 18:14Speaker 4: chat is out of the spruld. Like people don't realize
- 18:15Speaker 4: how good Ayuk is. Even when he's being double bracket,
- 18:18Speaker 4: he's still he still finds hold in the zone. So
- 18:21Speaker 4: this Eagles team right now, to me, if it all
- 18:23Speaker 4: works out right now, this team doesn't have anyone holding
- 18:26Speaker 4: out everyone's healthy head end of the season, I probably
- 18:29Speaker 4: would move them over in my powering gains above the
- 18:31Speaker 4: forty nine ers team and put the lines right behind them,
- 18:33Speaker 4: cause it's like fight out. The foreigners are having all
- 18:35Speaker 4: these issues Chad, and it's I keep being like, well,
- 18:39Speaker 4: it's not that big of a deal. What are we
- 18:41Speaker 4: three weeks out? Now this is starting to become a
- 18:42Speaker 4: big deal. We saw Nick Bosa held out. He wasn't
- 18:45Speaker 4: right till week seven eight, Like you need these periods,
- 18:48Speaker 4: you need the ramping up of the season. So this
- 18:51Speaker 4: Eagles team, to me, the biggest question are gonna be
- 18:53Speaker 4: the livebackers and the coaches. Right now, I'm pretty confident
- 18:56Speaker 4: these coaches what I've seen in practice. The linebackers, I
- 18:59Speaker 4: still I still need time chat. It's like I don't
- 19:01Speaker 4: really know until the bullets are flying what this team's
- 19:03Speaker 4: going to be like at the linebacker position.
- 19:05Speaker 1: You know, it's interesting you mentioned the linebackers. I remember
- 19:07Speaker 1: specifically we talked about this on the show Ray Bond
- 19:10Speaker 1: and Stuck. You talked about it on their show when
- 19:12Speaker 1: we were looking at the Niners going to play the
- 19:15Speaker 1: Eagles in that December game, right where the Eagles had
- 19:20Speaker 1: just played an overtime game against the Bills. We started
- 19:23Speaker 1: handicapping that game immediately, and we all liked the Niners
- 19:27Speaker 1: in that game. The Niners are going to be short.
- 19:29Speaker 1: I can't remember if they were short favorites or short
- 19:31Speaker 1: dogs in that game. Okay, yeah, I think so too,
- 19:36Speaker 1: but we still like them as favorites. The reason we
- 19:38Speaker 1: liked them is because the Eagles could not cover the
- 19:41Speaker 1: middle of the field.
- 19:42Speaker 3: That was an achilles heel for that team all season long.
- 19:46Speaker 1: You mentioned fangs Vic Fangio, new defensive coordinator, legendary, respected, beloved.
- 19:53Speaker 1: I got to think he will find ways to mask
- 19:57Speaker 1: these deficiencies a lot better than the sort of buffet
- 20:02Speaker 1: of bad defensive coordinators they had coming in last year,
- 20:07Speaker 1: ending with Matt Patricia, you got you gotta believe that,
- 20:10Speaker 1: Like in any business, you sort of have to decide
- 20:13Speaker 1: something is going to be and you have to believe
- 20:15Speaker 1: you can do it.
- 20:15Speaker 2: That's what I mean. There was no fix.
- 20:17Speaker 4: So like this year, this team, when I'm looking at them,
- 20:19Speaker 4: I'm just like, to me, in this division, these are
- 20:21Speaker 4: my biggest bets on the most confident. This is the
- 20:23Speaker 4: only the only division metach I've been right on every
- 20:26Speaker 4: year we've done this show, and we're not even doing
- 20:28Speaker 4: anything special people. We've literally gone Dallas Eagles, Dallas Eagles
- 20:31Speaker 4: since I joined the show.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Last year, we used a lot of our luck, cup.
- 20:35Speaker 4: I cannot believe we hit that Dallas bet and we thought,
- 20:37Speaker 4: we joked about we thought it was dead.
- 20:39Speaker 2: I think it was true.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Eagles were ten to one. I think we were just
- 20:42Speaker 4: coming off back to back really bad losses.
- 20:44Speaker 2: With Dallas.
- 20:45Speaker 4: We're like, oh, well, basically they need to win out
- 20:48Speaker 4: and maybe lose one game. The Eagles need to lose
- 20:50Speaker 4: out and maybe only win one game. And that's exactly
- 20:52Speaker 4: what happened. So this year I feel way, way confident
- 20:55Speaker 4: betting this number. The only negative here is we bet one.
- 20:59Speaker 4: We bet plus one three plus one twenty. I mean
- 21:02Speaker 4: for the last two months and then just in the
- 21:03Speaker 4: last three weeks. This line is now up to minus
- 21:06Speaker 4: one twenty. Like you just said a lot of books,
- 21:07Speaker 4: so you miss that a little bit. Still love the
- 21:10Speaker 4: over obviously ten and a half. Don't hate it if
- 21:12Speaker 4: you want to put fifteen to one. But I liked
- 21:14Speaker 4: I did what Chad did last year. If you listen earlier,
- 21:17Speaker 4: I like the Chiefs. Obviously I'm betting on the three peet.
- 21:20Speaker 4: I love the bet on History Eagles Chiefs matchup Super Bowl.
- 21:24Speaker 2: I got it at forty to one, So.
- 21:26Speaker 4: If you want to do something fun like that, you
- 21:28Speaker 4: can do that if you don't like taking the fifty
- 21:29Speaker 4: to one. But I have no issue taking the fifteen
- 21:30Speaker 4: to one. But I did Chad's but I took them
- 21:33Speaker 4: forty to one against the Chiefs. I put another bet
- 21:36Speaker 4: on them against the Bengals. I think it was fifty
- 21:37Speaker 4: five to one. Egos Bengals.
- 21:39Speaker 2: So that's a fun way to bet that stuff if
- 21:41Speaker 2: you want longer routes.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Yeah, just a preview for people who will listen to
- 21:44Speaker 1: our Best Bets episode, which will be the last week
- 21:47Speaker 1: before NFL season kicks off.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Simon and I will run through sort.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Of our favorite futures bets, and annually one of my
- 21:55Speaker 1: favorite bets is round robining the best odds.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Below usually twelve to one or under.
- 22:05Speaker 1: In ten or the last past eleven years, the teams
- 22:08Speaker 1: with those odds have met in the Super Bowl. So
- 22:12Speaker 1: last year it was the Chiefs and the Niners. Both
- 22:15Speaker 1: had lower than twelve to one odds, but the payout
- 22:17Speaker 1: on their Super Bowl win with something like thirty five
- 22:19Speaker 1: to one. So I will bet that and that is
- 22:22Speaker 1: in Evan Abrams special. I'm going to expand it this
- 22:26Speaker 1: year because I actually like, I think the Bengals are
- 22:28Speaker 1: thirteen to one.
- 22:29Speaker 3: The Eagles are fifteen.
- 22:30Speaker 1: To one, so we'll get into that for sure, all right,
- 22:37Speaker 1: all right, Speaking with the Cowboys, I can't think of
- 22:40Speaker 1: a team that I'm fading harder than the Cowboys that
- 22:44Speaker 1: has mismanaged everything since before kickoff of their route. In
- 22:51Speaker 1: a loss to the Packers in the playoffs where all
- 22:54Speaker 1: three of us were all over the Packers as seven
- 22:58Speaker 1: point underdogs, that game was over with about three minutes
- 23:02Speaker 1: past Dallas nineteen to one and win the Super Bowl
- 23:05Speaker 1: plus one fifty to win the Division ten and a
- 23:07Speaker 1: half win total. Eleventh hardest strength of schedule O line
- 23:11Speaker 1: is tenth, entirely because of Zach Martin and Tyler Smith.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Their tackles are suspect with Toront Smith and Terrence Steele.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Toron Smith gone, Terrence Steele coming off a down year.
- 23:22Speaker 1: They also have a new center. D line is sixth,
- 23:24Speaker 1: But a lot of this is about Micah Parsons and
- 23:30Speaker 1: DeMarcus Lawrence, right, So between the two of them they
- 23:34Speaker 1: make up for a lot of issues in the rest
- 23:39Speaker 1: of that defensive line. Everything about this team screams flashy
- 23:43Speaker 1: over bet overvalue. Built For the regular season, Dak barely
- 23:47Speaker 1: made our top ten list of quarterback We hate Mike McCarthy.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Now cdee Lamb is holding out Simon, I hate this team.
- 23:56Speaker 8: I want to buck on this What do you say?
- 23:59Speaker 8: I want to buy it tonight with ten percent of
- 24:01Speaker 8: the day around here in Jersey where I come from,
- 24:04Speaker 8: Let's call the juice the juice break.
- 24:08Speaker 4: It's all negative, like everything about It's like even their
- 24:11Speaker 4: own fans have not been going to their camp, which
- 24:13Speaker 4: is shocking. Like usually they're always to sell out all
- 24:15Speaker 4: the fans show up, and this year even them are
- 24:18Speaker 4: not that they're out on the team. I think they're
- 24:19Speaker 4: just out on Jerry Jones, right. I think they're pissed
- 24:21Speaker 4: it in because it's like, why did you not? Why
- 24:23Speaker 4: do you not just get this done with Dak and
- 24:25Speaker 4: cd Why did you not just get this done with
- 24:27Speaker 4: It's like the options out there aren'tna be much better
- 24:30Speaker 4: unless you totally tank the next two years and try
- 24:33Speaker 4: to find your own With Caleb Williams.
- 24:35Speaker 2: It's like these.
- 24:35Speaker 4: Guys just don't pop up. It's it's pretty insane with
- 24:38Speaker 4: the move they're making right now. We already talked about
- 24:40Speaker 4: like Dak has all the power if he walks this year.
- 24:43Speaker 2: They got like over fifty million in dead cap next year.
- 24:45Speaker 4: That's that's a crazy number to think they're just gonna
- 24:48Speaker 4: have a guy walking that that kind of money's in
- 24:49Speaker 4: the book.
- 24:50Speaker 2: So every day I wake up.
- 24:52Speaker 4: I honestly feel like I fall for the trap of,
- 24:54Speaker 4: oh they just signed Cdo they just signed Dak to
- 24:56Speaker 4: a big contract? Because I've just been wait for to happen,
- 24:58Speaker 4: and it just feels like it's not happening. Every day
- 25:00Speaker 4: the sound bites get worse from Jerry Jones jat so
- 25:03Speaker 4: the team on the field, I think he nailed it
- 25:05Speaker 4: right there. They have some questions down the offensive line
- 25:08Speaker 4: which we haven't had in the past. You know, if
- 25:11Speaker 4: if CD does miss time, who are they throwing to
- 25:15Speaker 4: go through their depth tra to wide receiver. It's a
- 25:16Speaker 4: lot of really heavy questions there. So they desperately need
- 25:20Speaker 4: CD back, And you know, I don't I don't know
- 25:24Speaker 4: if Chris loves this guy, but I think his name's Rico,
- 25:26Speaker 4: this running back.
- 25:27Speaker 2: I kind of love him.
- 25:28Speaker 4: I kind of think he's gonna be the guy over
- 25:30Speaker 4: is Ekal Elliott, and there are touches there to be had.
- 25:32Speaker 4: But defensively, I think you talked about chat. It feels
- 25:35Speaker 4: like they extremely overachieved last year and they're gonna pay
- 25:38Speaker 4: the piper this upcoming season just because they haven't really
- 25:40Speaker 4: improved that defensive side at all. They just kind of
- 25:42Speaker 4: rolled it, let it ride back. And you know, I'm
- 25:45Speaker 4: looking at this team ten and.
- 25:47Speaker 2: A half I've just talked to.
- 25:50Speaker 4: I want to say, I've spoken to every book maker
- 25:52Speaker 4: that you know in the greater Tri State area over
- 25:55Speaker 4: the last two months. It's all under money on this team.
- 25:58Speaker 4: They've just been getting tons and tons of money on
- 26:00Speaker 4: this win total. So this is gonna be the sportsbook's
- 26:03Speaker 4: larger positions on win totals. They're gonna need this teams over.
- 26:06Speaker 4: I just think they had held the bad number. Chad, Like,
- 26:08Speaker 4: to me, this ten and a half made sense last
- 26:11Speaker 4: year when this division was so weird. Yeah, the division
- 26:14Speaker 4: feels like it's improved like tremendously from the commanders of
- 26:16Speaker 4: the Giants. So you know, to me, ten and a
- 26:18Speaker 4: half still too high of a number. I do like
- 26:21Speaker 4: that under and obviously we're.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Not touching anything for them divisionally or Super Bowl ots.
- 26:25Speaker 1: This is a weird Everything about this is a weird
- 26:29Speaker 1: public number to me. The nineteen to one is a
- 26:32Speaker 1: public number. The plus one fifty is public, the ten
- 26:36Speaker 1: and a half is public.
- 26:37Speaker 3: It's all screaming.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Bookmakers are just looking to take advantage of people who
- 26:42Speaker 1: love the Cowboys.
- 26:43Speaker 4: Love the Cowboys. I feel like those people are gone
- 26:45Speaker 4: and they didn't adjust for that.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Ray Bon, are you about to tell us right now?
- 26:50Speaker 3: I love the Cowboys?
- 26:53Speaker 6: Nah, I don't, but it is anytime the market is
- 26:57Speaker 6: so overwhelmingly negative, I think as a you kind to
- 27:01Speaker 6: have to at least consider, yeah, scary contrarian, yeah, the
- 27:05Speaker 6: other side. But for me, I just think the Cowboys
- 27:08Speaker 6: have a wide range of outcomes, because, for one, they're
- 27:12Speaker 6: still favored in fourteen of their seventeen games, but really
- 27:15Speaker 6: four of those.
- 27:16Speaker 5: Are essentially a pick them.
- 27:17Speaker 6: It's you know, the spread is minus one or some
- 27:20Speaker 6: some are even a pick them, depending what book you're
- 27:22Speaker 6: looking at.
- 27:22Speaker 5: So they there.
- 27:25Speaker 6: Is a situation like a scenario where the Cowboys finish
- 27:31Speaker 6: you know, nine and eight, eight and nine even especially remember,
- 27:35Speaker 6: you know, a couple of years ago, Dak Prescott missed
- 27:36Speaker 6: some games that's happened a couple of times. If they
- 27:40Speaker 6: was that, you know, Simon you said it, Ceedee Lamb's
- 27:43Speaker 6: really their only guy receiver. You know, Rico Daudo at
- 27:46Speaker 6: running back. I mean, I don't think he's going to
- 27:48Speaker 6: make a difference one way or another running backs generally, don't.
- 27:51Speaker 6: You know Howard wasn't great last year coming off that
- 27:54Speaker 6: injury anyway, But I did. I did like what McCarthy
- 27:57Speaker 6: did somewhat down the stretch after the bye. They kind
- 28:00Speaker 6: of went super pass heavy, But I don't know if
- 28:02Speaker 6: that's gonna be an option this year with just see
- 28:04Speaker 6: and remember, you know, it's it's not very likely that
- 28:07Speaker 6: CD continues to just not ever miss games due to
- 28:11Speaker 6: injury either. So I think this team is very fragile
- 28:14Speaker 6: with not bet any overs on them.
- 28:17Speaker 5: And I am.
- 28:18Speaker 6: Concerned about that tackle situation because you had Tchumadoga, the veteran,
- 28:24Speaker 6: getting snaps at left tackle and he looks like he
- 28:27Speaker 6: just got hurt.
- 28:27Speaker 5: So now you're gonna have to go with the with the.
- 28:31Speaker 6: Rookie guiton at left tackles and Chad you mentioned Steele
- 28:35Speaker 6: was pretty shaky. He ranked sixty ninth of eighty one
- 28:38Speaker 6: qualified tackles at Pro Football Focus in terms of their
- 28:42Speaker 6: grading last season. So Dak Prescott under pressure with just
- 28:47Speaker 6: one receiver that really is gonna be reliable, reliable, you
- 28:51Speaker 6: get open. I mean, maybe Jake Ferguson continues to step up,
- 28:55Speaker 6: but I just you know, they don't have the running game,
- 28:58Speaker 6: they have one bona fide receiver, they don't have tackles,
- 29:04Speaker 6: and the coach is shaky. So not a lot to
- 29:07Speaker 6: love for Dallas, especially when you put them side put
- 29:10Speaker 6: the Cowboys side by side against the Philadelphia Eagles. So yeah,
- 29:14Speaker 6: it's all about the Eagles this year. I think the
- 29:16Speaker 6: Cowboys could suffer from that NFC East first place jinx.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Yeah, they've built a team that is designed to win
- 29:24Speaker 1: in the regular season over the past several years, and
- 29:29Speaker 1: I don't even think they're designed to do that now,
- 29:33Speaker 1: given the offensive line issues, given what's going on with
- 29:35Speaker 1: Ceddee Lamb. Like, let me give you some stats, right,
- 29:39Speaker 1: ce d Lamb is not only coming off one of
- 29:43Speaker 1: his best years, one of the best wide receiver seasons ever.
- 29:47Speaker 1: There have only been two seasons of receivers with one
- 29:50Speaker 1: hundred and thirty plus receptions seventeen one hundred plus receiving
- 29:54Speaker 1: yards twelve plus receiving touchdowns twenty twenty one, Cooper Cup
- 30:00Speaker 1: twenty twenty three, c D.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Lamb.
- 30:03Speaker 1: If this guy's not in the field, they don't really
- 30:06Speaker 1: have probably about eighty percent of their passing offense. So
- 30:12Speaker 1: there's some serious issues there. And to my point about
- 30:15Speaker 1: the Cowboys being a regular season team, highest average win
- 30:20Speaker 1: toil of the past twenty years to not win a
- 30:25Speaker 1: Super Bowl. Cincinnati Bengals eight point one, San Francisco forty nine,
- 30:31Speaker 1: Ers eight point one, Minnesota Vikings eight point two, Falcons
- 30:37Speaker 1: eight point three, Chargers eight point nine, number one Dallas
- 30:42Speaker 1: Cowboys nine point two.
- 30:45Speaker 2: What a brittle list to be on. Damn, you've just
- 30:48Speaker 2: so much winning for not so much.
- 30:51Speaker 6: I remember their last Super Bowl. That was like the
- 30:53Speaker 6: first Super Bowl that I as a kid. I really remember,
- 30:56Speaker 6: just the whole weed up to it, and you know,
- 30:59Speaker 6: watching the like simulate it with Madden in nineteen ninety
- 31:02Speaker 6: five and then they go out and just spank the Steelers.
- 31:06Speaker 6: Neil O'Donnell could not keep up with that Cowboy defense
- 31:10Speaker 6: and whatnot. But yeah, it's been it's been rough. And
- 31:13Speaker 6: you know, even Chad you mentioned a pass offense I mean,
- 31:16Speaker 6: Brandon Cooks is still there. We shouldn't just shit on him.
- 31:19Speaker 6: But he's he's gonna be thirty one, so he's a
- 31:21Speaker 6: tough time staying healthy, right, Yeah, I mean, well, not
- 31:25Speaker 6: necessarily healthy, but I think you worry about just because
- 31:27Speaker 6: he's a smaller guy and he has he has had
- 31:28Speaker 6: some good cussion issues. So yeah, he's not He's not
- 31:31Speaker 6: a guy that you necessarily expect to go back to
- 31:33Speaker 6: being the wide receiver one that he was at times
- 31:36Speaker 6: earlier in his careers. So yeah, there's just it's just
- 31:39Speaker 6: it just feels very fragile for the Cowboys this year.
- 31:44Speaker 3: True story, Raybon. I know I'm showing my age. I
- 31:49Speaker 3: covered that.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Steelers Cowboys Super Bowl and the NFC Championship game the
- 31:55Speaker 1: week before when I think it was Larry Brown had
- 31:59Speaker 1: multiple He did it well. He had an interception in
- 32:03Speaker 1: the AFC in the championship game, and then in the
- 32:06Speaker 1: next game, and I had to interview, I had to
- 32:08Speaker 1: write for Sports Illustrated a little sidebar about the play
- 32:12Speaker 1: that led to the interception in the NFC Championship game,
- 32:16Speaker 1: and I asked Antonio Freeman what the play was in
- 32:19Speaker 1: the locker room after the game. And I said to him, look,
- 32:22Speaker 1: I know you weren't on the field, but I saw
- 32:23Speaker 1: you standing next to home grin. Can you tell me
- 32:25Speaker 1: about the play? He goes, well, I wasn't on the field.
- 32:26Speaker 1: I'm like, I know, but you know I need to
- 32:28Speaker 1: do a story about it.
- 32:29Speaker 3: He knew who I was.
- 32:30Speaker 1: I had been to Green Bay a bunch, and he goes,
- 32:32Speaker 1: you got to do a news chronicle for Sports Illustrated.
- 32:34Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, I got to do a news chronicle.
- 32:38Speaker 1: And then he wouldn't answer my question. So I went
- 32:40Speaker 1: to Adam Timmerman, and Adam Timmerman started telling me what
- 32:45Speaker 1: everything was. I got everything I needed. Then Antonio Freeman
- 32:49Speaker 1: came up to me in the locker room before I
- 32:52Speaker 1: was leaving and started to get in my face and like,
- 32:55Speaker 1: what am I going to do?
- 32:56Speaker 3: Right? But Adam Timmerman pulled him back from trying to
- 33:02Speaker 3: kill me in the locker room.
- 33:05Speaker 5: What that? First?
- 33:06Speaker 6: Of all, great story, And those are some amazing name drops,
- 33:09Speaker 6: like I was more Robert Brooks, Dorsey Levin's guy myself
- 33:13Speaker 6: on that that stand. But Waymond was a beast too.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Hey, Dorsey Levins. I was on the sideline for the Patriots.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Packers super Bowl that the Packers won, and Dorsey Levins
- 33:28Speaker 1: knocked me over when he ran He ran out of
- 33:31Speaker 1: bounds and I was behind a cameraman and we both
- 33:34Speaker 1: got knocked over. And I didn't feel great the rest
- 33:36Speaker 1: of that night and was in New Orleans.
- 33:39Speaker 2: I'll just say, And he didn't even feel you.
- 33:42Speaker 3: I don't like, he didn't feel anything right.
- 33:44Speaker 1: And so I go to my back to my hotel
- 33:46Speaker 1: that night, super late night, right and I'm not feeling great.
- 33:50Speaker 1: I start puking the rest of the night. I think
- 33:53Speaker 1: I might have had a concussion, Like he knocked the
- 33:56Speaker 1: fuck out of me on the sideline.
- 33:59Speaker 4: So I don't know if you get to hear my
- 34:00Speaker 4: phone going crazy, Chad. Apparently Jordan Addison, the number two
- 34:04Speaker 4: receiver on the Vikings, just went down. The injuries being
- 34:06Speaker 4: helped off the field by trainers. It's like truly a
- 34:09Speaker 4: season from hell for the Vikings fans right now.
- 34:11Speaker 8: Wow.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel terrible for the Vikings. I feel terrible
- 34:15Speaker 1: for Kevin O'Connell. He seems like a really good coach.
- 34:17Speaker 1: I want him to.
- 34:18Speaker 3: Be able to succeed there.
- 34:21Speaker 1: I hope this doesn't become a season where everything is
- 34:24Speaker 1: so bad they feel like they have to start over,
- 34:27Speaker 1: give him the chance to make some magic with what
- 34:30Speaker 1: this roster is becoming.
- 34:31Speaker 2: I think they will.
- 34:32Speaker 4: I think yeah, I don't think they'd move on from
- 34:34Speaker 4: after this year, even if they went very terrible.
- 34:36Speaker 2: I don't think they'd move on.
- 34:37Speaker 6: Hey, if we got no Jordan Addison for any length
- 34:40Speaker 6: of time, we already probably won't have TJ.
- 34:43Speaker 5: Howkinson to start the year.
- 34:45Speaker 6: Ed Addison could get suspended even if he's not, yeah, hurt.
- 34:49Speaker 6: So the fact that we're also out on j JJ's
- 34:53Speaker 6: out means if Darnald struggles, we're gonna.
- 34:55Speaker 5: Get us some Nick Moens and you know who.
- 34:57Speaker 6: That's really good for Justin Jefferson to wed the in
- 35:00Speaker 6: receiving yards because Nick Mullins will throw five hundred air
- 35:04Speaker 6: yards in a game complete like three hundred and fifty
- 35:07Speaker 6: of them throw four picks. But JJ will will put
- 35:10Speaker 6: up like one hundred. JJ. If you take out the
- 35:12Speaker 6: game that he got hurt and a game that he
- 35:14Speaker 6: came back. Last year, JJ averaged one hundred and twenty
- 35:17Speaker 6: seven receiving yards per game. If you do that over
- 35:19Speaker 6: the full season, you're running away with that crown. So yeah,
- 35:23Speaker 6: Justin Jefferson definitely might be worth a bet here, depending
- 35:28Speaker 6: on what's going on with Addison, because he would be
- 35:29Speaker 6: an absolute target hog, even if even if the quarterback
- 35:33Speaker 6: is substandard.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Washington Commanders, I feel like I'm misreading something here. The
- 35:43Speaker 1: Washington Commander is one hundred and twenty one one hundred
- 35:46Speaker 1: and twenty to one to win the Super Bowl plus
- 35:48Speaker 1: eight hundred to win the Division. Six and a half
- 35:50Speaker 1: is the win total. Thirteenth easiest strength of schedule O
- 35:54Speaker 1: Line rank twenty seven. Sixty percent of the offensive line
- 35:58Speaker 1: is new at left tackle, protecting Jaden Daniels blind side.
- 36:04Speaker 1: They are relying on a career backup in Cornelius Lucas
- 36:07Speaker 1: defensive line nineteenth. There was a time where this was
- 36:10Speaker 1: a top four defensive line with Montes Sweat and Chase Young,
- 36:14Speaker 1: not that long ago. I think this line is too high,
- 36:17Speaker 1: even with their current talent level. The big signing Dorrance
- 36:23Speaker 1: Armstrong from Dallas, whose career eye in sacks during six
- 36:26Speaker 1: years eight and a half knew everything coach QB O
- 36:31Speaker 1: line D line coordinators. I mean, I don't get the
- 36:35Speaker 1: market numbers here. I don't understand why. Like Raybau, you
- 36:40Speaker 1: already said the Commanders would be your sort of long
- 36:43Speaker 1: shot here. None of this makes sense to me, all.
- 36:46Speaker 6: Right, So, first of all, the Commanders were four and
- 36:51Speaker 6: thirteen last year. They employed Ron Rivera, Eric b Enemy,
- 36:55Speaker 6: and Jack del Rio as their head coach and offensive
- 36:59Speaker 6: and defensive coordinators, respectively, So they needed everything new.
- 37:03Speaker 5: So that's a good thing.
- 37:05Speaker 6: Second of all, the main difference, if you want to
- 37:08Speaker 6: get really simple, between Washington and the New York Giants,
- 37:14Speaker 6: is that Washington has a chance to have a quarterback.
- 37:20Speaker 5: It's as simple as that. That's football.
- 37:22Speaker 6: Both of these rosters shaky, like you said, Chad, although
- 37:25Speaker 6: I'm I think Washington has the better roster than the Giants.
- 37:28Speaker 6: I mean, yes, the offensive line is maybe a little
- 37:31Speaker 6: bit unsung, but it's not a disaster, like I think
- 37:34Speaker 6: it can be serviceable, like you know somewhere around week average.
- 37:38Speaker 6: You know, they got Terry McLaurin, who's already established. The
- 37:41Speaker 6: Giants have a rookie trying to fill that role, Jayden Daniels,
- 37:45Speaker 6: I would say, already better than Daniel Jones.
- 37:47Speaker 5: The Giants backup quarterback. They can't even get that right.
- 37:50Speaker 6: Drew Locke look terrible in his preseason snapped the Giants
- 37:53Speaker 6: have no secondary. Washington has no secondary. But I think
- 37:58Speaker 6: Washington has more upside because you still have you know,
- 38:02Speaker 6: maybe Forbes can get it together. It was the first
- 38:04Speaker 6: round pick you got. I struggled to pronounce his name.
- 38:08Speaker 6: But the flat corn who they took in a Secon
- 38:10Speaker 6: round out of Michigan this year, Cyrus still I believe.
- 38:13Speaker 6: I think it's how you pronounce it. But they do
- 38:16Speaker 6: have some upside here. Jeremy Chin is an interesting guy.
- 38:19Speaker 6: You know, he flashed in Carolina at times. So just
- 38:22Speaker 6: up and down the roster, I think Washington just has
- 38:26Speaker 6: more upside. You know, Echler Robins a pretty good running back,
- 38:29Speaker 6: Duo Ertz and so know at tight end. So there's
- 38:32Speaker 6: there's still positions they do not They have Bobby Wagner
- 38:35Speaker 6: in the middle and Louvu so at least, you know, Simon,
- 38:38Speaker 6: if you like linebackers, I mean, Washington at least has
- 38:41Speaker 6: linebackers finally, So you know, I when I look at
- 38:46Speaker 6: this roster, I just I think it's better than the Giants,
- 38:49Speaker 6: but more than anything, Washington.
- 38:52Speaker 5: Could have a quarterback.
- 38:52Speaker 6: It's like it's like it's as simple as the Texans
- 38:54Speaker 6: Anddycap last year. It's like, well, if you didn't know
- 38:58Speaker 6: who to take on the bottom of that division, you know,
- 39:00Speaker 6: it was the Culture Texans because they potentially have quarterbacks,
- 39:04Speaker 6: you know, And this is I mean, I'm not really
- 39:06Speaker 6: a believer in Daniel Jones and Gable is going to
- 39:08Speaker 6: be calling plays now for the Giants. And I remember
- 39:11Speaker 6: when Ben McAdoo was all their rage for you know,
- 39:15Speaker 6: a few evenings in New York and then he started
- 39:17Speaker 6: calling his own plays, and that's just tough as a
- 39:19Speaker 6: head coach, you know, adding responsibilities here. So I'm I
- 39:24Speaker 6: don't like what the Giants are doing.
- 39:26Speaker 5: I don't love.
- 39:27Speaker 6: Washington, but I think Washington has in its range of outcomes,
- 39:34Speaker 6: a chance at success, and especially with you know, if
- 39:36Speaker 6: Dallas flounders or Dat gets hurt or see something's up
- 39:39Speaker 6: with CD and Jade and Daniels really hits the ground running,
- 39:42Speaker 6: he could really transform that team and that culture because remember.
- 39:45Speaker 5: That's what they really needed.
- 39:46Speaker 6: Washington is a culture reset, you know, all the ownership
- 39:49Speaker 6: issues and then you know, Ron Rivera I think got
- 39:51Speaker 6: pretty stale. Del Rio got pretty stale. The enemy you know,
- 39:55Speaker 6: never really you know, was getting jobs before this, and
- 39:59Speaker 6: you know, I don't think he is that great either.
- 40:00Speaker 6: So I just think the change is good for Washington
- 40:03Speaker 6: and staying in the changes the Giants made, I'm not
- 40:06Speaker 6: really really thrilled about Ben McAdoo.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Unforgivably, benched Eli Manning ended his long running record setting
- 40:20Speaker 1: quarterback starting streak for one game for Geno Smith. He
- 40:26Speaker 1: should have been fired that second for that. I think
- 40:28Speaker 1: it took about two seconds.
- 40:30Speaker 5: I was incredulous about it too. McAdoo was like.
- 40:33Speaker 6: A higher gun.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Really.
- 40:34Speaker 5: The guy to blame, and.
- 40:36Speaker 6: I've written about this for Action Network, is Mara. Mara
- 40:39Speaker 6: has no idea what's going on, and he has no
- 40:41Speaker 6: idea that the people working for him have no idea
- 40:44Speaker 6: what's going on. So I blame Marra, I blame the GM,
- 40:48Speaker 6: and they really haven't. I think Dabo's solid.
- 40:51Speaker 5: But I still think that the front office is shaky.
- 40:55Speaker 1: We're going to go deep into the Giants because I
- 40:57Speaker 1: think there's a public perception thing going on here, and
- 41:00Speaker 1: so because of hard Knocks, and we had Lombardi on
- 41:02Speaker 1: and Lombardi railed against Joe Shane and how he made
- 41:07Speaker 1: GM's look and how he managed some of that situation.
- 41:10Speaker 3: But Simon, give me your take on the commanders.
- 41:14Speaker 4: Yeah, the fear of the commander is that Jayden Dames
- 41:16Speaker 4: will be dead by week five.
- 41:19Speaker 1: That's it, right, Like they didn't that is I should
- 41:21Speaker 1: he not invest in getting a guy to protect him.
- 41:23Speaker 4: All of it though, Like even when I talked to professionals,
- 41:26Speaker 4: it's like, who's the who's the O. C.
- 41:28Speaker 2: Kingsbury.
- 41:28Speaker 4: It's like that guy he flashes then all of a
- 41:32Speaker 4: sudden his offense gets figured out.
- 41:33Speaker 2: He's dog shit. Like there you go, chat a real
- 41:36Speaker 2: dog shit.
- 41:36Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that's just the fear here, because it's like
- 41:41Speaker 4: I love the upside of this team, like Chris is
- 41:43Speaker 4: talking about, like this is a fun, exciting team because
- 41:45Speaker 4: they're brought a new coaches and he could change the culture.
- 41:47Speaker 4: Or we've seen all the time the quarterback comes in
- 41:49Speaker 4: and the players around him believe in that quarterback. It
- 41:52Speaker 4: does change the culture. We've seen time and time again.
- 41:54Speaker 4: But the same my team, The Giants are my team.
- 41:57Speaker 4: So I just couldn't get there this team in six
- 41:59Speaker 4: and a half because I do believe in the Giants.
- 42:01Speaker 4: I wanted to take both these teams over. But I
- 42:03Speaker 4: have this team right at six wins chat, so it's
- 42:05Speaker 4: like I'm not really betting this one only at half
- 42:07Speaker 4: a game under the win total. I just I can't
- 42:11Speaker 4: get there. There's just still too many questions. And you
- 42:13Speaker 4: talk about the biggest issue for me is that they
- 42:15Speaker 4: sold off that D line like they didn't really replace it.
- 42:18Speaker 4: They don't really have guys that can put pressure on
- 42:20Speaker 4: other teams when they are going to be behind. They
- 42:23Speaker 4: need to have pass rushers and guys that can stop
- 42:25Speaker 4: the run, and they.
- 42:26Speaker 2: Kind of give that up.
- 42:26Speaker 4: But they do have good linebackers which could correct some
- 42:28Speaker 4: of those weaknesses. But too much is there too many questions?
- 42:33Speaker 2: Even in this you know a.
- 42:35Speaker 4: Couple of weeks of preseason, their secondary they are bad?
- 42:39Speaker 7: Man?
- 42:39Speaker 2: Are they bad? Washington secondary is really bad.
- 42:42Speaker 1: Let me set up the Giants numbers one hundred and
- 42:46Speaker 1: fifty to one to win the Super Bowl plus thirteen hundred,
- 42:49Speaker 1: so thirteen to one to win the division, also six
- 42:52Speaker 1: and a half wins, like the Commanders, a line ranked
- 42:55Speaker 1: twenty ninth, and like this was the crux of the
- 43:00Speaker 1: Hard Knocks off season series. The Giants did not pursue
- 43:05Speaker 1: Saquon because they were so focused on improving the offensive
- 43:09Speaker 1: line and helping Daniel Jones. They brought in two n
- 43:12Speaker 1: guards highlight about John Runyon probably long in the tooth.
- 43:16Speaker 1: They need a better year from Andrew Thomas, who was progressing.
- 43:19Speaker 3: To be elite.
- 43:20Speaker 1: What they really need is Evan Neil to play like
- 43:22Speaker 1: the number one pick he was in twenty twenty two.
- 43:25Speaker 2: I don't think he will.
- 43:26Speaker 5: That's over.
- 43:27Speaker 3: It's over.
- 43:28Speaker 6: Okay, that's over. That's all purious. I think it's gonna
- 43:30Speaker 6: be a luminor. Honestly, I think it's over.
- 43:34Speaker 7: The New York Giants' glory years are a distant memory
- 43:37Speaker 7: for their long suffering followers who have endured through the
- 43:40Speaker 7: worst of John, and before the carnage was complete, they
- 43:43Speaker 7: managed to rip some salt into the wound.
- 43:45Speaker 1: I thought Lombardi was great on the show last week,
- 43:50Speaker 1: being so honest about Joe Shane and how he he
- 43:53Speaker 1: could be on the right side of history here, which
- 43:55Speaker 1: I believe he is with the Saquon move, but the
- 43:57Speaker 1: way he handled it was terrible. And I think Raybond
- 44:01Speaker 1: that might be influencing you in the Giants, but Simon,
- 44:03Speaker 1: I'm surprised you're believing more in the Giants.
- 44:08Speaker 4: Yeah, And that's the hardest part of my job though,
- 44:10Speaker 4: is Like even months ago when I was begging people
- 44:13Speaker 4: in our Best Ball Draft, we said, I love the
- 44:15Speaker 4: Giants stack. You could have gotten neighbors in the fifth
- 44:18Speaker 4: and sixth round when I was talking about him like that.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Dude, right now, chat, he's an end of the second
- 44:22Speaker 2: early third round pick.
- 44:24Speaker 4: So the public now is shifted where they're believing in
- 44:26Speaker 4: him just because he's killing it in camp. Daniel Jones
- 44:30Speaker 4: not so much. I mean, he's gotten better. I think
- 44:33Speaker 4: he was just rusty when he first came out there.
- 44:35Speaker 4: In these last couple of weeks, you know, he struggled
- 44:37Speaker 4: the first two weeks of camp. This past week he
- 44:39Speaker 4: has everything I've read. He's been more accurate, more consistent
- 44:42Speaker 4: on his deep ball, even though the young wide receiver
- 44:45Speaker 4: Hyatts look better, getting more comfortable with him. It's just
- 44:48Speaker 4: there are pieces there that I can get excited about.
- 44:50Speaker 4: And the biggest thing is I've seen Daniel Jones do
- 44:52Speaker 4: it like I've seen him somehow. Get to see him
- 44:55Speaker 4: to a playoff game and win a playoff game. It's
- 44:57Speaker 4: like I get where people are coming from. In his career,
- 44:59Speaker 4: He's we had one season I believe, with over twenty
- 45:01Speaker 4: touchdown passes.
- 45:02Speaker 2: Like that's that's terrifying. Shad like that is I'm not
- 45:05Speaker 2: gonna lie.
- 45:05Speaker 4: The betting that is is scary, but it is just
- 45:08Speaker 4: me betting on this D line. Like I just think
- 45:11Speaker 4: they have such a good D line that if they
- 45:13Speaker 4: can just figure out a little bit on offense, if
- 45:15Speaker 4: they can really flip those one score games, which I
- 45:17Speaker 4: think that's what makes Debo a great coach. Like Debo,
- 45:20Speaker 4: you know the year they had that run, he was
- 45:23Speaker 4: incredible in close games, Like that's why we faded them
- 45:25Speaker 4: the next year because we're just like, they can't repeat that.
- 45:28Speaker 4: The same thing with the Vikings, were like the Vikings
- 45:29Speaker 4: couldn't repeat that, and they didn't. I do think they
- 45:32Speaker 4: have the squad this year to go eight to nine,
- 45:34Speaker 4: nine and eight like that, That to me feels like
- 45:36Speaker 4: they're ceiling. Wow, So looking at six and a half,
- 45:41Speaker 4: I'm taking the over. But like we just talked about,
- 45:44Speaker 4: if they're zero to four and Daniel Jones has three
- 45:47Speaker 4: three touchdowns and nine interceptions on the season, none of
- 45:50Speaker 4: us are gonna be shocked.
- 45:50Speaker 2: It's Daniel Jones.
- 45:51Speaker 4: It's like, it's the reason most fans of their team
- 45:54Speaker 4: think this is the last year of his contract. Right
- 45:56Speaker 4: after this year they pay him the forty million. They'll
- 45:58Speaker 4: move on that shock anybody. But I just I just
- 46:02Speaker 4: like what this team has in place. The biggest question.
- 46:04Speaker 4: I think Chris is nailed it. It's like, what are
- 46:05Speaker 4: we gonna get from this offensive line? That to me
- 46:07Speaker 4: is the biggest question here.
- 46:09Speaker 1: So right now I'm looking up and while I do this,
- 46:11Speaker 1: I'm looking up the lines for week one, because Simon,
- 46:15Speaker 1: we liked the Giants as home dogs against the Vikings
- 46:21Speaker 1: in Week one.
- 46:22Speaker 2: They might be fair enough, but I'm assuming there's still
- 46:24Speaker 2: one point dog.
- 46:25Speaker 3: There's still one point dogs.
- 46:27Speaker 1: So yeah, if like, you know, this feels like a
- 46:31Speaker 1: go and grab it situation because.
- 46:34Speaker 4: The just feels like that game's going to make or
- 46:35Speaker 4: break my win totalle bets on both teams exactly right.
- 46:38Speaker 1: And this feels like like the moment is now because
- 46:42Speaker 1: you the stats will all tell you when we're going
- 46:44Speaker 1: to get deeper into this when we get into week one.
- 46:47Speaker 1: You want to be betting the short home favorites in
- 46:52Speaker 1: week one, uh, and you want to get it before
- 46:55Speaker 1: it they become I'm sorry, the short home dogs, and
- 46:58Speaker 1: you want to get it become before they become the
- 47:00Speaker 1: home favorite. Simon, you were about to say that you
- 47:04Speaker 1: like their defensive line. Their defensive line, according to PFF,
- 47:07Speaker 1: is ranked eighteenth. To me, that feels low. Like Dexter
- 47:12Speaker 1: Lawrence alone, he's the highest graded interior D lineman in
- 47:17Speaker 1: the league. He was three points higher than Aaron Donald
- 47:22Speaker 1: last year. Now they've added Brian Burns, who may make
- 47:25Speaker 1: Kavon Thibodeaux even more effective. Like even though we have
- 47:31Speaker 1: he had flashy stats last year, he only had forty
- 47:33Speaker 1: three quarterback pressures.
- 47:34Speaker 5: So yeah, I.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Agree with you about the defensive line, Raybond. Does that
- 47:40Speaker 1: influence any of your thinking? Does anything we've said influence you?
- 47:45Speaker 6: Nah?
- 47:46Speaker 5: I just think this team.
- 47:48Speaker 6: Every year there is a team that I look at
- 47:50Speaker 6: and I just disagree with how they philosophy philosophically think
- 47:55Speaker 6: about football. Last year it was the Carolina Panthers. Frank
- 47:59Speaker 6: Wright or agreed with pretty much zero of their moves.
- 48:03Speaker 6: I'm starting to feel that same way about Joe Shane
- 48:05Speaker 6: because when I look at all of the moves in
- 48:09Speaker 6: totality that this Giant team has made since he took over.
- 48:14Speaker 6: They signed Daniel Jones to that big contract. Silly they
- 48:19Speaker 6: with on Evan Neil. They I've already spent two day
- 48:25Speaker 6: three picks on undersized wide receivers that are not better
- 48:30Speaker 6: than a holdover really in Darius at least not more
- 48:34Speaker 6: productive than a holdover Darius Slayton, who they keep trying
- 48:37Speaker 6: to bench but he keeps out playing all their other receivers.
- 48:42Speaker 6: Then they go and they spend big money on a
- 48:47Speaker 6: linebacker and Bobby Okaraka is great, but he's a linebacker.
- 48:53Speaker 6: It's just not smart salary allocation. Okay, fine, whatever, they
- 48:58Speaker 6: overachieve a couple in dables for first year. Last year,
- 49:01Speaker 6: everything goes to shit, uh and it goes to poopy.
- 49:06Speaker 5: You saw you saw Dave.
- 49:07Speaker 6: You saw Daboll unravel you saw him not you saw
- 49:10Speaker 6: him literally.
- 49:11Speaker 5: Or if it wasn't Dave.
- 49:13Speaker 6: Dabell had coached Tyrod Taylor in Buffalo, and somehow these
- 49:17Speaker 6: guys could not get together.
- 49:18Speaker 5: I believe I think they overlapped. I'm not even sure
- 49:21Speaker 5: about that now that I think about it.
- 49:22Speaker 6: But either way, the fact that he couldn't get it
- 49:24Speaker 6: communicated that Tyrod Taylor was.
- 49:25Speaker 5: Not to throw the football. They essentially threw away a
- 49:28Speaker 5: game they could have beat Buffalo.
- 49:30Speaker 7: Uh.
- 49:30Speaker 6: You know, uh, we saw Dabe just unraveling multiple times
- 49:33Speaker 6: on the sidelines, and now he's gonna call his own plays,
- 49:37Speaker 6: adding something, adding you know another, uh, you know, another
- 49:41Speaker 6: task to his plate where this roster. Like, sure they
- 49:46Speaker 6: got a nice D line, but I always thought Burns
- 49:48Speaker 6: was a little overrated. I mean, he's great, but for
- 49:51Speaker 6: what they paid for him, I think he's a little overrated.
- 49:53Speaker 6: Caveon Thibodeau has more name value than actual production in
- 49:58Speaker 6: my opinion. I mean, so, so you're really talking about
- 50:01Speaker 6: two great offensive linemen, Lawrence and Burns.
- 50:04Speaker 5: You know, Thibodeau in theory should be one.
- 50:08Speaker 6: And then your secondary is you're really counting on Deontay
- 50:12Speaker 6: Banks to make a massive year two weep, and that
- 50:15Speaker 6: could happen. He was a first round pick out of
- 50:17Speaker 6: Maryland last year, but he's still got question marks that
- 50:20Speaker 6: at the other four starting secondary spots. I mean, Belton
- 50:23Speaker 6: and Pinnock are your safeties, Phillips spot or you know
- 50:29Speaker 6: even the other guys that know one has heard of
- 50:31Speaker 6: are your other cornerbacks. You're just kind of patchwork in
- 50:34Speaker 6: the line with you know, guards who you know might
- 50:38Speaker 6: or might may or may not even be upgrades over
- 50:41Speaker 6: what they had. They still have not figured out the
- 50:44Speaker 6: center position and the guys that they you know, guys
- 50:47Speaker 6: that they're signing to play center are not even working
- 50:50Speaker 6: out and they're not even getting the reps there anymore.
- 50:53Speaker 6: Like everything to me with this team is there's a
- 50:56Speaker 6: disconnect between what the front office thinks about, you know,
- 51:01Speaker 6: who these players are and what they actually are. Just
- 51:03Speaker 6: like even the way they Okay, we're gonna go out
- 51:07Speaker 6: and draft a weapon for Daniel Jones because we can't
- 51:10Speaker 6: draft the quarterback, but we were trying to trade up
- 51:12Speaker 6: to number three to get Drake May, who I feel
- 51:16Speaker 6: like they just like rump Drake May in with Daniels
- 51:20Speaker 6: and uh, you know Caleb Williams. Like no, Like there
- 51:24Speaker 6: was a big, I think tear drop from the number
- 51:27Speaker 6: two to number three. So the fact that they were
- 51:29Speaker 6: even willing to bet the farm on on on.
- 51:33Speaker 5: Drake May, like that in itself is a word.
- 51:36Speaker 6: It's like, I just nothing that the Giants have done,
- 51:40Speaker 6: in my opinion, has been smart and nothing has really
- 51:45Speaker 6: added to to them in my opinion, being able to
- 51:49Speaker 6: win more games, Like you have a defensive line, but
- 51:52Speaker 6: you're gonna overwork them. They're gonna be everything's gonna be
- 51:55Speaker 6: on them because their secretary is not gonna be able
- 51:57Speaker 6: to hold up, so it might it might be all
- 51:58Speaker 6: or not. And let's say one of those guys misses
- 52:00Speaker 6: a couple of games here and there. Let's say Birds
- 52:03Speaker 6: missus or Lawrence miss Like, now you're back to one
- 52:05Speaker 6: good one great defensive lineman, one okay, one with a
- 52:08Speaker 6: lot of potential, a shitty secondary, some expensive linebackers that
- 52:12Speaker 6: can only do so much.
- 52:14Speaker 5: A guy like, It's just I just don't like this
- 52:16Speaker 5: team at all.
- 52:17Speaker 3: I think this problem is, you know what the problem is.
- 52:21Speaker 1: I just want Raybond to tell us how he feels like.
- 52:23Speaker 1: I don't feel like I'm getting a real.
- 52:26Speaker 5: J Jones stakes.
- 52:28Speaker 2: Wins.
- 52:30Speaker 5: I mean, this could be the worst team in the
- 52:32Speaker 5: National Football League this year.
- 52:33Speaker 6: I think this team, I just I just I feel
- 52:35Speaker 6: like Gable spoiled us. He kind of you know, they
- 52:40Speaker 6: massively overachieved in that first year. And you know there's
- 52:43Speaker 6: anchoring bias, right, because that was our first impression.
- 52:45Speaker 5: Of Dabel and I think he's he's fine.
- 52:48Speaker 6: But I don't think in Marrow that's a big problem
- 52:51Speaker 6: because you saw, if you watch hard not how Mara
- 52:54Speaker 6: was always in the office with Shane and I'm sure
- 52:56Speaker 6: that's hanging over Shane and influencing some of these stilly
- 52:58Speaker 6: decisions in himself. But like, why why would you not
- 53:01Speaker 6: address cornerback when you have to guard ce Ceedee Lamb
- 53:05Speaker 6: the leading receiver in the National Football League A J.
- 53:07Speaker 6: Brown and DeVante Smith, both of those twice a year. Uh,
- 53:11Speaker 6: Terry McLaurin with a new rookie quarterback, Like, I just
- 53:14Speaker 6: don't understand how you don't address cornerback and the secondary.
- 53:17Speaker 6: And then you're like, oh, yeah, well I'll have to
- 53:18Speaker 6: suit up and play corners. What is Joe Shane's joking?
- 53:21Speaker 6: Like that's not a joke, but this is this is
- 53:24Speaker 6: this could this is gonna get bad really fast. And oh,
- 53:26Speaker 6: we don't even know if Daniel Jones is the guy.
- 53:28Speaker 6: But and oh, by the way, all their draft picks
- 53:31Speaker 6: were for need, so yeah, maybe you lucked into neighbors
- 53:34Speaker 6: because you had the number six pick because you stunk
- 53:36Speaker 6: last year. But after that, it was like, oh, well,
- 53:39Speaker 6: so we need a tight end, so let's go get
- 53:41Speaker 6: this guy, and we need to we need a safety,
- 53:43Speaker 6: so oh he was the last guy we would take
- 53:44Speaker 6: there that that we could start. Oh and then they
- 53:48Speaker 6: they freaking It seems like every they don't even know
- 53:50Speaker 6: who their good players are. It's like, oh, let's draft
- 53:52Speaker 6: another running back and already put him, you know, number
- 53:55Speaker 6: two on the depth chart in Tyrone Tracy and then
- 53:57Speaker 6: Eric Gray, the guy you drafted last year is that's
- 54:00Speaker 6: playing the best. So it's like, I don't think they
- 54:02Speaker 6: self scout well clearly, and I just I just think
- 54:07Speaker 6: this the bottom is gonna fall from this team. And
- 54:10Speaker 6: I'm Daniel Jones. He's a known quantity at this point too. Like,
- 54:13Speaker 6: he's not the worst quarterback in the wine. He can
- 54:15Speaker 6: run with him, he can make some throws, but he's
- 54:17Speaker 6: not gonna.
- 54:18Speaker 5: Win you games. He's not winning you games. And that's
- 54:21Speaker 5: what this team needs.
- 54:22Speaker 6: It needs a Jaden Daniel type quarterback that's gonna win
- 54:25Speaker 6: you games. And I'm just not convinced that they have that,
- 54:28Speaker 6: and even her backup, like they they might have to
- 54:30Speaker 6: start Tommy de Vito again.
- 54:32Speaker 5: Is this is?
- 54:33Speaker 6: I mean, this team could be so so bad. I
- 54:37Speaker 6: can't believe you guys don't see that ship like this
- 54:39Speaker 6: team is. They got a great defensive line, big whoop, Simon.
- 54:46Speaker 3: Right now, I'm betting the Giants worst team in the NFL.
- 54:52Speaker 1: Are you I feel like Raymond just did an excellent
- 54:55Speaker 1: trave to convince me.
- 54:56Speaker 2: It was like, a, well, it's his favorite team, that's why.
- 54:58Speaker 6: Yeah, it was a good but I can the Giants
- 55:01Speaker 6: at times, like I know, but I.
- 55:03Speaker 2: Know you know too much though, that's your problem, right, Yeah.
- 55:06Speaker 1: I feel the passion right now, like he is so
- 55:09Speaker 1: deep in this thing. Is what happened when your team
- 55:11Speaker 1: is on hard knocks, you are like, I'm still upset
- 55:15Speaker 1: that that Bears kid who stripped down to his undies.
- 55:17Speaker 3: Got hurt from that first preseason.
- 55:20Speaker 1: Okay, so, like I understand the emotion Raybond is playing
- 55:25Speaker 1: with here, but listen, as a precursor to our convinced
- 55:31Speaker 1: me show, you fucking convinced me on the Giants.
- 55:35Speaker 3: It feels like you were taking over six and a
- 55:36Speaker 3: half Simon.
- 55:37Speaker 2: So I mean, I love the over.
- 55:39Speaker 4: I'm not gonna fight you guys on. It's definitely one
- 55:41Speaker 4: of these teams where it's like I just said it,
- 55:42Speaker 4: they could Chris said.
- 55:43Speaker 2: They could be one of the worst teams of football.
- 55:45Speaker 1: It would be shocked that he doesn't feel like to me, like,
- 55:48Speaker 1: as I want to run down our favorite bets here,
- 55:51Speaker 1: I'm really only coming away with a consensus Eagles Cowboys.
- 55:56Speaker 2: I mean, that's that's pretty damn good chot.
- 55:58Speaker 5: The Eagles fade the Cowboys.
- 56:00Speaker 6: But it's just like Simon, you're gonna you're You're not
- 56:03Speaker 6: gonna want to in like week six. You're not gonna
- 56:05Speaker 6: want to look at your bank roll and seek and
- 56:08Speaker 6: I know you're a big I know you're a big better.
- 56:10Speaker 6: You're not gonna want to see like five six figures
- 56:12Speaker 6: on Daniel Jones instead of Jade and Daniels, Like, You're
- 56:15Speaker 6: just gonna be like, No, Matt Eberflus is the only
- 56:22Speaker 6: dude that I could switch his whole slag up with
- 56:25Speaker 6: the beard like Dan.
- 56:26Speaker 4: I know you know, I'm drinking the kool Aid, Bro,
- 56:28Speaker 4: you can't can't get in. I'm literally I've drank the
- 56:30Speaker 4: kool Aid. I'm in on the Giants.
- 56:32Speaker 2: I'm bad. I'm bad.
- 56:33Speaker 3: I love this though.
- 56:34Speaker 1: This is great, So Raybon would probably lean forget about
- 56:39Speaker 1: egos and cowboys for a second. Raybon, you give me
- 56:42Speaker 1: a commander's bet. Are you saying you would like to
- 56:45Speaker 1: be over on the commanders at six and a half
- 56:47Speaker 1: or do you not have any bets on the commanders
- 56:49Speaker 1: at this point?
- 56:51Speaker 6: I would say I still think the NFC is gonna
- 56:54Speaker 6: be a go both both conferences, just because there's yeah,
- 56:58Speaker 6: I think like ten o eleven would gimme so all right,
- 57:01Speaker 6: So I don't like. I don't like the win total
- 57:03Speaker 6: over I would. If I'm betting the Commanders, I want
- 57:05Speaker 6: to bet big. So my favorite Commander's bet is Jadeen
- 57:08Speaker 6: Daniels Rookie of Offensive Rookie of the Year plus four
- 57:11Speaker 6: seventy five. I have him projected to be a better
- 57:14Speaker 6: fantasy quarterback than Caleb Williams because of the rushing upside,
- 57:18Speaker 6: and if he's statistically better than Caleb Williams, even if
- 57:22Speaker 6: Williams throws for more yards, Daniels will have a shot
- 57:25Speaker 6: to win that award. So I like that. And then
- 57:28Speaker 6: I think long shot Commanders Division at nine to one
- 57:33Speaker 6: because we know it's probably not going to be the
- 57:35Speaker 6: Cowboys given the NFC East's history, and if for some reason,
- 57:39Speaker 6: you know, maybe Jaalen Hurts gets hurt for an extended period,
- 57:42Speaker 6: or you know what if something goes wrong with the Eagles,
- 57:44Speaker 6: I think the Commanders are in position to pounce because again,
- 57:49Speaker 6: Jayden Daniels, just like you saw Stroud do, and we've
- 57:52Speaker 6: seen countless rookie quarterbacks do in years past. He could
- 57:56Speaker 6: change his whole culture, and he could single handedly be
- 57:59Speaker 6: responsible for this team turning from a terrible team to
- 58:04Speaker 6: an average or even a slightly above average team as
- 58:08Speaker 6: soon as this year. So that's how I'm looking at
- 58:10Speaker 6: the Commanders. I want no parts of like I I
- 58:13Speaker 6: just don't see that for Daniel Jones. So I'm thinking
- 58:15Speaker 6: of Commander's mate. Finally, you know, just start hammering the Giants.
- 58:19Speaker 6: The Giants usually have their the you know, the edge
- 58:23Speaker 6: in those matchups for some reason. But yeah, I think
- 58:25Speaker 6: long shot Commander's bets is what I want. So Jayden
- 58:28Speaker 6: Daniels and the long shot division.
- 58:30Speaker 3: Simon, I will give you the Giants over six and
- 58:33Speaker 3: a half.
- 58:34Speaker 2: Yeah, Giants over six and a half.
- 58:36Speaker 4: And if if you're really make me better on WASHT,
- 58:38Speaker 4: I'm just slightly towards the under at six ones.
- 58:41Speaker 1: All right, That was that was exciting the end of that.
- 58:45Speaker 1: I did not expect it to go that way at
- 58:48Speaker 1: the end, So I like we got a little Commander's
