- 0:20Speaker 1: to twenty two. Rio Gram that's coming up, Hey, coming

- 0:30Speaker 1: joined by Rich Clark, the executive director of the CFP,
- 0:34Speaker 1: so he'll be joining us here in just a few minutes,
- 0:37Speaker 1: so we'll look forward to having our conversation with him. Also,
- 0:44Speaker 1: if you'd like to text the program, all you have
- 0:46Speaker 1: to do is text the word Texas follow by your
- 0:48Speaker 1: question of comment to eight one five to three zero.
- 0:52Speaker 1: So it's the word Texas followed by your question and
- 0:55Speaker 1: comment to eight one five three zero Standard Messaging in
- 0:57Speaker 1: data hb AP. Plier Man's said, I like these odds.
- 1:01Speaker 1: I think he was talking about the rams when they
- 1:04Speaker 1: had the had the uh you know, the safety was
- 1:08Speaker 1: awarded them. I agree with you. They should have called
- 1:10Speaker 1: the face mask. That was a missed call, no doubt
- 1:12Speaker 1: about it. But it would have left the score twenty
- 1:15Speaker 1: eight twenty. The Vikings would have a first down at
- 1:17Speaker 1: their own twenty.
- 1:18Speaker 2: They would have been.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Eighty yards away and having to drive all that in
- 1:21Speaker 1: seventy five seconds with no timeout.
- 1:23Speaker 3: You're telling me you haven't seen other incredible things happen
- 1:25Speaker 3: on a football field, Craig. You clearly have. You've seen
- 1:27Speaker 3: crazy things happen. Yes, I have happened, Yes I have.
- 1:30Speaker 1: But for you to unequivocally say they would win the game,
- 1:33Speaker 1: I think it's a little far fetched.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Don't you think we go to overtime? Okay, all right,
- 1:38Speaker 2: we'll see.
- 1:39Speaker 1: We'll see if they could get down and do what
- 1:41Speaker 1: they couldn't do since the first half score touchdown, then
- 1:44Speaker 1: hit a two point conversion afterwards, Then and only then
- 1:47Speaker 1: would it get to overtime if that happened. But you know,
- 1:51Speaker 1: I understand fandom. It's important. Vandom is a big thing.
- 1:55Speaker 1: I get it, you know. So anyway, which in the
- 2:00Speaker 1: first hour of the program, the Big Twelve Conferences, there
- 2:03Speaker 1: was no foul play with the unsecured helmet communications signals.
- 2:09Speaker 1: The Big Twelve announced none of its games were compromised
- 2:12Speaker 1: by unencrypted frequencies. Actually, I think that's the name of
- 2:16Speaker 1: a band playing down in Austin this week is unencrypted frequency. Anyway,
- 2:21Speaker 1: none of the games were compromised by unencrypted frequencies used
- 2:24Speaker 1: with the coach to player in game communications this season.
- 2:29Speaker 1: There were sources who told the ESPN yesterday that coach
- 2:32Speaker 1: to player communications for all powerful college football games this
- 2:36Speaker 1: season have been on unencrypted frequencies, and that Texas Tech
- 2:41Speaker 1: requested a report from the Big Twelve on its recent
- 2:44Speaker 1: games against TCU and Baylor, both of which were losses,
- 2:47Speaker 1: to ensure the integrity of the games were not compromised.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Athletic director Kirby Hocutt said he raised the issue during
- 2:54Speaker 1: a call with Big Twelve athletic directors on Tuesday after
- 2:57Speaker 1: learning that anyone with a scanner in knowledge of how
- 3:01Speaker 1: to locate the frequencies had access to those in game communications.
- 3:05Speaker 1: You want to know who has the scanner and those
- 3:08Speaker 1: in kind of in game communications, because you're not going
- 3:11Speaker 1: to be bringing it into the stadium if you're a fan, okay,
- 3:15Speaker 1: and if you're a coach, it's probably not gonna be
- 3:17Speaker 1: happen there.
- 3:17Speaker 2: They have crews that set up those types of things.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Andrew and Rason does a great job for the University
- 3:22Speaker 1: of Texas getting their coach headset communication set up, so
- 3:27Speaker 1: that's not gonna happen. But I started taking You know,
- 3:29Speaker 1: there's a gentleman by the name of Kelly Moore. That's
- 3:33Speaker 1: his name, not to be confused with the paint company
- 3:35Speaker 1: Kelly Moore. He is a frequency coordinator savant in the
- 3:41Speaker 1: Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. He is the frequency coordinator for
- 3:45Speaker 1: Cherry World at T Stadium, globe Ightfield in Arlington, Amon
- 3:50Speaker 1: Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, and also Floyd Casey Stadium
- 3:54Speaker 1: in Wakeup. That guy is what some might refer to
- 3:59Speaker 1: as a frequent Nazi, because I'm going to tell you
- 4:02Speaker 1: if you weren't on the right frequency, he will come
- 4:05Speaker 1: and tell you how the cow choose the cabbage. Because
- 4:08Speaker 1: we were like one position off one time for a
- 4:10Speaker 1: game and he came in and was and he had
- 4:11Speaker 1: this thing that looked like a big old Geiger counter
- 4:14Speaker 1: and it had and it had all these frequencies and
- 4:16Speaker 1: he was like, you can't be on this, You're on
- 4:18Speaker 1: the wrong You gotta your equipment and a you know,
- 4:22Speaker 1: we're like, yess sir.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Being in the fourth quarter and you're trying to get
- 4:25Speaker 3: your play in. All of a sudden, you're Craig Way
- 4:27Speaker 3: in your head set talking about.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, here we go. We'll get an update
- 4:31Speaker 1: on that other game going on. Yeah, it'll So it's
- 4:35Speaker 1: it's it's pretty unique, it's pretty interesting. So anyway, they
- 4:38Speaker 1: said that that wasn't that wasn't the case. The Big
- 4:41Speaker 1: Twelve issued this statement today and I quote. Following the
- 4:45Speaker 1: industry wide concerns surrounding helmet communications, the Big Twelve conducted
- 4:50Speaker 1: a review of conference games and helmet communications processes to
- 4:55Speaker 1: address any issues member institutions raised regarding this matter. The
- 4:59Speaker 1: review show that at no point was any Big Twelve
- 5:02Speaker 1: competition compromised. In addition, all Big Twelve helmet communication programs
- 5:08Speaker 1: now have the update from GSC. That's the company that
- 5:15Speaker 1: handles it for all the Power Forward leagues. GSC that
- 5:20Speaker 1: provides the encryption, and schools may either use Coach Commerce
- 5:23Speaker 1: GSC for coach the player communications at their discretion.
- 5:25Speaker 2: So they're saying it's all good, no problems, So.
- 5:29Speaker 3: There's no Connor Stallion story here.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I don't think so. I don't think so.
- 5:33Speaker 3: I don't think I was trying to make Connor Stallions
- 5:35Speaker 3: joke the entire time you're breaking that down. I was trying.
- 5:38Speaker 3: I couldn't come up with anything.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Okay, feel free to make a joke about the Yankees
- 5:42Speaker 1: fifth inning if you want.
- 5:43Speaker 2: You know that in the stadium. Yeah, no, markonies in
- 5:46Speaker 2: the stadium.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Uh.
- 5:48Speaker 2: World Series ended last night, Dodgers.
- 5:50Speaker 1: We talked quite a bit about it in the first
- 5:51Speaker 1: couple of hours the program at Gene Watson on with
- 5:53Speaker 1: us our MLB Insider. If you missed that conversation, you
- 5:56Speaker 1: can go back to our podcast page and listen to
- 5:58Speaker 1: the conversation talking about not only did the Yankees make
- 6:01Speaker 1: the mistakes in the fifth and they did, but they
- 6:04Speaker 1: still had chances to get out of it with no
- 6:07Speaker 1: damage done before the ground ball when Garrett Cole kind
- 6:11Speaker 1: of went brain dead and didn't cover the bag, so
- 6:14Speaker 1: that allowed one run they score, and then he had
- 6:17Speaker 1: a chance to get out of it and gave up
- 6:19Speaker 1: back to back hits a single in the double front.
- 6:21Speaker 2: So for anybody that's saying.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Oh, Garrett Cole was so victimized, he victimized, you know,
- 6:25Speaker 1: by his defense behind him. Listen, Garrett Cole contributed to
- 6:28Speaker 1: his own demise a by not covering the bag at
- 6:30Speaker 1: first and b you know, giving up the two run
- 6:33Speaker 1: single to Freddie Freeman and the two run double to
- 6:37Speaker 1: take Oscar Hernandez.
- 6:38Speaker 3: But you know what, the stars are just like us, Greg,
- 6:40Speaker 3: because I'd made that same mistake in middle school and
- 6:43Speaker 3: I didn't hear the end of it. My dad still
- 6:44Speaker 3: brings it up. So me and Garrett Cole we have
- 6:46Speaker 3: something in.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Com pitch for The New York Yankees were making three
- 6:49Speaker 1: hundred million dollars.
- 6:51Speaker 2: You know that is true.
- 6:52Speaker 3: You watched tons of baseball a bunch of the hot
- 6:55Speaker 3: Have you ever seen something like that?
- 6:57Speaker 2: Not quite like that, not quite like that.
- 6:59Speaker 1: I've seen him hesitant, but not completely just stopped dead
- 7:01Speaker 1: in their tracks. So anyway, congratulations the Dodgers. They win
- 7:05Speaker 1: their eighth World Series. The Yankees still have the all
- 7:08Speaker 1: time record twenty seven World Series. They also have lost fourteen,
- 7:13Speaker 1: including Ford No No, because that allowed winning runs to score.
- 7:18Speaker 1: The Yankees, remember, came back and retained took the lead
- 7:21Speaker 1: in the ballgame. No, it's not worse than the Buckner gaff.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Thanks for making me feel a little bit better, Craig.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Good, All right, there you go. Up next.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Rich Clark, the executive director of the College Football Playoff,
- 7:30Speaker 1: will join us when we continue on Sports Radio AM
- 7:32Speaker 1: thirteen under the Zone.
