- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the almost famous podcast with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Almost Famous to OG's. It is Bob and Trista and
- 0:08Speaker 2: Ladies and Gentlemen. We are recapping jones huge Golden Bacherette
- 0:14Speaker 2: finale last night. I mean, honestly, that was next level stuff.
- 0:18Speaker 3: I'm so freaking happy for her. I just ye oh gosh,
- 0:22Speaker 3: I adore her and I I've been playing ketchup, so
- 0:30Speaker 3: I haven't seen some of the episodes, but I watched.
- 0:34Speaker 1: The finale last night because I feel like, I, you know, I.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Had talked to her, so yeah, but I just want
- 0:42Speaker 3: to see, like what kind of transpired, what happened. But
- 0:46Speaker 3: I am just overall just so happy for her. I
- 0:50Speaker 3: feel like it came up numerous times throughout the season,
- 0:54Speaker 3: where you know, and and she said on Golden Bachelor,
- 0:58Speaker 3: I feel invisible. I totally I related to that, even
- 1:02Speaker 3: though I have not, thank god, lost a husband or
- 1:05Speaker 3: a partner and am not as old as her. Although
- 1:11Speaker 3: we are very close to we are very close. We
- 1:15Speaker 3: are very close.
- 1:16Speaker 1: We're closer to them.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Than we are to the Yeah you know, yeah exactly.
- 1:22Speaker 1: So you know, I.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Heard her when she said she felt invisible. I heard
- 1:30Speaker 3: her this season when she said that she felt like
- 1:34Speaker 3: she was being selfish by looking for somebody else to
- 1:38Speaker 3: love in life, you know, and that she didn't want
- 1:41Speaker 3: to replace John. But but yet she felt guilty for
- 1:47Speaker 3: looking for somebody to make her happy for the rest
- 1:49Speaker 3: of her life. And that just makes me so sad
- 1:52Speaker 3: because I'm sure she is not alone. There have got
- 1:54Speaker 3: to be millions of people who feel that way.
- 1:58Speaker 1: That they feel like.
- 2:00Speaker 3: First of all, they don't deserve it for whatever reason,
- 2:03Speaker 3: which is so sad to me, And then that they
- 2:06Speaker 3: feel selfish, that they give of their life every day
- 2:10Speaker 3: to their family, to their job, to whatever, and that
- 2:13Speaker 3: they don't feel like like they're like they're being selfish
- 2:18Speaker 3: if they're looking for love again. So I love that
- 2:21Speaker 3: she found it.
- 2:22Speaker 2: I know me too, I agree with you, I mean, Joan,
- 2:24Speaker 2: I think put a little bit of a magnifying glass
- 2:26Speaker 2: on that for a lot of us, because you know,
- 2:29Speaker 2: I mean, you hear about it with actresses, you hear
- 2:31Speaker 2: about it with you know, people that you know, when
- 2:34Speaker 2: they reach a certain age, they feel like they've almost
- 2:36Speaker 2: been like pushed aside for the younger, you know, demographic
- 2:39Speaker 2: or whatever it might be. And she she kind of
- 2:41Speaker 2: put a little bit of a magnifying glass on that,
- 2:43Speaker 2: and to a certain degree, I think for me, even
- 2:45Speaker 2: made me think about my mom differently, Like I had
- 2:48Speaker 2: to look at my mom and go Oni and my
- 2:49Speaker 2: dad died a few years ago, and my mom, you know,
- 2:52Speaker 2: she doesn't. I mean, she she's wonderful with my kids
- 2:55Speaker 2: and stuff like that, but that doesn't that's not how she,
- 2:58Speaker 2: you know, has to live the rest of her life
- 2:59Speaker 2: is being an on call babysitter, you know. And I
- 3:02Speaker 2: mean don't even said that. She's like, I love my grandchildren,
- 3:04Speaker 2: but I want to do some things for myself still
- 3:06Speaker 2: and not feel bad about it. And God bless her,
- 3:09Speaker 2: you know. I mean, I think I think the ending
- 3:11Speaker 2: was pretty spectacular. You know. I didn't feel like I
- 3:16Speaker 2: got to know Chalk at all throughout the course of
- 3:18Speaker 2: the season, so obviously I know he had left a
- 3:20Speaker 2: little bit, and I love that he came back, and
- 3:23Speaker 2: you know that she it was almost like a different
- 3:26Speaker 2: Joan when he was around, you know, like you could tell,
- 3:29Speaker 2: like the other guys are cool too, and we've gotten
- 3:31Speaker 2: several of them from the show and stuff, but I
- 3:33Speaker 2: feel like he just brought out a sight of her
- 3:35Speaker 2: that it was pretty magic. You know, it was great
- 3:36Speaker 2: to see.
- 3:38Speaker 3: I do want to say though that so when I
- 3:40Speaker 3: had my like little coffee chat with her, she definitely
- 3:46Speaker 3: Chalk was was one of the one of the strongest
- 3:49Speaker 3: I feel like relationships at that time, and I think
- 3:51Speaker 3: it was it was before Hometowns, so there were actually
- 3:56Speaker 3: seven guys still when I talked to her. So I
- 3:59Speaker 3: know that Chalk was a was a she was having
- 4:02Speaker 3: strong feelings for him, but Pascal she was having very
- 4:05Speaker 3: strong feelings for as well. And I wonder what would
- 4:10Speaker 3: have happened if if Pascal hadn't left, you know. I
- 4:16Speaker 3: I think that it doesn't take away from the feelings
- 4:21Speaker 3: that she had for Chalk, and that she of course
- 4:23Speaker 3: has now for Chalk, but I just wonder, you know,
- 4:27Speaker 3: what would have happened. And and that is just for
- 4:29Speaker 3: me to say. I hope that she doesn't hear this
- 4:31Speaker 3: because I don't want I wouldn't want to put that
- 4:34Speaker 3: into her head because I want her to just focus
- 4:36Speaker 3: on her relationship with Chalk. There's nothing you know there
- 4:41Speaker 3: with Pascal. But you know, part of me is just
- 4:43Speaker 3: a viewer, not as a as a friend, wonders, you know,
- 4:49Speaker 3: if Pascal had stayed and so it's it's just so hard.
- 4:53Speaker 1: This show is just so crazy.
- 4:56Speaker 3: And and you know, I wonder how Chalk feels about that,
- 5:01Speaker 3: you know, if if it's come up in conversation.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I'm sure it has because why wouldn't it.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Well, and we all know too, we know better than anyone.
- 5:07Speaker 2: A lot of this stuff is editing too, you know,
- 5:09Speaker 2: like yeah, you know, they make it so that you're like,
- 5:12Speaker 2: oh my god, and you just buy into the narrative
- 5:14Speaker 2: and then you're like, you know, she could be like, well, yeah,
- 5:17Speaker 2: I was, I was, I was, I was. I was
- 5:18Speaker 2: feeling conflicted when Pascal left. But you know, Chocolate my
- 5:22Speaker 2: guy the whole time. You know why, I'm sure we'll
- 5:24Speaker 2: fight out a lot, you know, after it's all said
- 5:27Speaker 2: and done. Well, I'm excited about Trista is that if
- 5:30Speaker 2: there is a wedding on this one, you already secured
- 5:33Speaker 2: me an invite. I am so fared up. I'm finally
- 5:38Speaker 2: getting the good in the big show.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Baby.
- 5:41Speaker 1: No, they're going to get married at Disney World or something.
- 5:43Speaker 2: No, yeah, they probably are. Everyone's invited. The world's invited.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I'll just be like sitting there, one of the world.
- 5:50Speaker 1: If you just so happen to be at Disney that day.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Yeah, They're like, okay, everyone, if you've got a special
- 5:55Speaker 2: bracelet come into our reception. Bob Well to push you
- 5:58Speaker 2: at the bar if you want, you just be a
- 6:00Speaker 2: our tender today. I'm like, I'll work it, hey man,
- 6:02Speaker 2: I'll take let her I can get. I just want
- 6:03Speaker 2: to be there.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I'm just so happy for her.
- 6:18Speaker 3: She you know, when we last talked, which was I
- 6:22Speaker 3: think a week or two ago, she was just on
- 6:25Speaker 3: cloud nine.
- 6:26Speaker 1: She was. She's so happy.
- 6:28Speaker 3: I feel like she feels she feels like safe again.
- 6:33Speaker 3: She feels like she can she can be happy. It's
- 6:38Speaker 3: not just about the other people in her world. It's
- 6:41Speaker 3: about like her again. You know, she can she can
- 6:45Speaker 3: actually have individual happiness and not have to provide it
- 6:49Speaker 3: for everybody else, which I think is so beautiful.
- 6:52Speaker 2: I love it too. I love it too. No one
- 6:54Speaker 2: deserves it, I mean, she deserves it.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Man.
- 6:56Speaker 2: I was gonna say no one deserves this more and
- 6:57Speaker 2: deserves it more, but I think it's better to say
- 7:00Speaker 2: she deserves it, and so does everyone who feels like her,
- 7:04Speaker 2: you know, who's still young and heart and vibrant and
- 7:07Speaker 2: wants to get out there and find love. I mean,
- 7:09Speaker 2: love isn't just for young, dumb teenagers, right or whatever.
- 7:12Speaker 2: It's it's for everybody. And it's nice to know that,
- 7:15Speaker 2: you know, you can find like that second shot at love,
- 7:19Speaker 2: you know, after after you know the love of your
- 7:21Speaker 2: life passes away, it's like you can get back out
- 7:23Speaker 2: there again. So I'm excited for her too.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I love her.
- 7:26Speaker 2: I think she's super nice and what a great choice.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I was a little surprised at the end they didn't
- 7:32Speaker 2: announce a new Golden Bachelor or Bachelorette.
- 7:36Speaker 3: True story, well, they would, they would announce Golden Bachelor,
- 7:39Speaker 3: But for me, I just I wonder if first of all,
- 7:45Speaker 3: the network has to approve it, you know, I'm sure
- 7:49Speaker 3: they're in conversations with people. I don't have any inside
- 7:53Speaker 3: scoop there, but I wonder. I know that I saw
- 7:56Speaker 3: on social Charles was being discussed. He's the adorable Asian man.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. I love him, like I just want
- 8:09Speaker 1: to wrap him. I just he's so cute. And then Mark,
- 8:14Speaker 1: I'm sure.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Is in contention considering he's Kelsey's dad and he's you know,
- 8:20Speaker 3: part of the franchise, and I think he has a
- 8:22Speaker 3: big following in Bachelor Nation already from Joey's season. So
- 8:28Speaker 3: there's Mark, there's Pascal, which he would be like, you know,
- 8:32Speaker 3: all the bells and whistles, and you know, he doesn't
- 8:35Speaker 3: hold back. He's walking around in his tidy whities on camera, like.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I saw that they might not be able to contain him.
- 8:44Speaker 3: For you know, but I think, you know, people people
- 8:50Speaker 3: like that I loved. I think Jonathan, the one who
- 8:53Speaker 3: wore the bow tie without a shirt underneath his tuxedo.
- 8:58Speaker 3: He just was so beautifully vulnerable and it seemed like
- 9:02Speaker 3: ready for a relationship. And then guy, you know, I
- 9:06Speaker 3: know he's good. He had he was in the headlines,
- 9:09Speaker 3: you know, for a restraining order. Joan explained it to me,
- 9:12Speaker 3: and I really don't. I don't think all the drama
- 9:18Speaker 3: around it is as big of a deal as of
- 9:21Speaker 3: course the media makes it out to be. So sure,
- 9:24Speaker 3: there's a lot of good guys. But one question I
- 9:27Speaker 3: have for you, what do you think? What would you
- 9:30Speaker 3: think about if they did a Golden Bachelor in Paradise?
- 9:35Speaker 2: You know, I have thought about that. I feel like
- 9:39Speaker 2: we talked about it a few times. I'm not sure
- 9:41Speaker 2: I would be able to unsee that. And I don't
- 9:46Speaker 2: mean that like in a bad way. I just mean it,
- 9:48Speaker 2: like I think, you know, part of me thinks that
- 9:50Speaker 2: what they've done so beautifully with the Golden Series so
- 9:53Speaker 2: far has been the casting has been the lack of
- 9:57Speaker 2: manufactured drama, you know. And yeah, I'm joking about of
- 10:02Speaker 2: course I could. You know, I have no problem watching it,
- 10:04Speaker 2: but I feel like I feel like that would cheapen
- 10:07Speaker 2: it to me. And I don't know why I feel
- 10:10Speaker 2: that way, but my I love in the integrity of
- 10:14Speaker 2: how I look at this show right now, which is
- 10:16Speaker 2: everyone gets along there, you know. I feel like Bachelor
- 10:19Speaker 2: in Paradise and that whole thing is a little rooted
- 10:23Speaker 2: in a little more of the backbiting, conniving stuff, you know. Yeah,
- 10:27Speaker 2: And I don't mean that for everyone, but that's just
- 10:29Speaker 2: my high level, thirty thousand foot view, and I just
- 10:32Speaker 2: see these people differently, I really do.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I tend to agree.
- 10:38Speaker 3: I feel like I wonder if there's a way that
- 10:40Speaker 3: they could do it without it being like salacious, you know,
- 10:44Speaker 3: where it's still because listen, the bottom line of Bachelor
- 10:49Speaker 3: in Paradise is that all kinds of people from the
- 10:53Speaker 3: from the show that we've known all the shows can
- 10:56Speaker 3: come together and people can meet, you know, on camera,
- 11:01Speaker 3: of course, but in a in an environment where we
- 11:04Speaker 3: can introduce people from different.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Shows to each other. Right, So it.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Would be like bringing Golden Bachelorette and Golden Bachelor together
- 11:13Speaker 3: in a way, but maybe not do it salaciously, Like
- 11:17Speaker 3: maybe it's not on the beach. Maybe it's you know,
- 11:19Speaker 3: not in tidy whities and speedo's, you know.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I guess we're gonna find out in due time,
- 11:26Speaker 2: because it's going to be it's going to be a
- 11:28Speaker 2: great one if it happened, all.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Right, So thank you everybody for tuning in for this
- 11:34Speaker 3: little catch up session really quick, little what are we
- 11:37Speaker 3: what are we going to call?
- 11:38Speaker 2: It?
- 11:38Speaker 3: A little recap of the Golden Bachelorette finale, the first
- 11:42Speaker 3: ever Golden Bachelorette, and so happy for Joan.

- 11:46Speaker 2: Happy for you, Joan.

- 12:04Speaker 2: thanks for listening, Bye everybody,
