Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: What up, y'all? It's your boy Kevin on stage.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Tony Baker.
- 0:02Speaker 1: Today we are bald brothers. We're always bald brothers.
- 0:06Speaker 3: But today we are talking the Logan rewatch spliced up
- 0:11Speaker 3: with top 10 R-rated comic book and graphic novel movies. Logan,
- 0:19Speaker 3: ladies and gents, Tony Baker, box office nerd, give us
- 0:24Speaker 3: the deets.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Glad you asked. Logan came out in 2017. It came
- 0:30Speaker 2: out March 3rd, to be exact. It opened in Big Y.
- 0:36Speaker 2: On a budget of $ 127 million, it grossed $ 614 million worldwide.
- 0:39Speaker 2: $ 226 domestic, $ 387 international, with a grand total of $ 614. 2.
- 0:41Speaker 2: So it was a profitable film.
- 0:42Speaker 1: If you adjust for inflation on the domestic, it'd be
- 0:45Speaker 1: $ 301. 7 million grossed. Kick it off, Tome.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Now, Logan, for me, is directed by Frank Mangold.
- 1:06Speaker 2: He did 310 to Yuma. He did Walk the Line.
- 1:13Speaker 2: So this is a serious director. He's going to give
- 1:16Speaker 2: you some action, but he's also going to give you
- 1:18Speaker 2: some dramatic chops. I like the fact that they went
- 1:20Speaker 2: rated R with this because Wolverine, his power set, you
- 1:27Speaker 2: got to slice some people.
- 1:28Speaker 1: You gotta go.
- 1:30Speaker 2: If not, we wasting these. If nobody could ever get shanked,
- 1:37Speaker 2: then we ain't gonna see no blood on them type
- 1:39Speaker 2: of shanks.
- 1:40Speaker 1: It's wasted.
- 1:41Speaker 2: It's wasted. So now we can just bypass all that
- 1:45Speaker 2: PG-13 guideline bullshit and let him just wild out on
- 1:52Speaker 2: people that deserve to get sliced the hell up.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Man, when you go shank in the neck, Oh my God.
- 2:00Speaker 2: In the beginning, when he did this to one of
- 2:02Speaker 2: them cats by the limo, I was like, see, now
- 2:05Speaker 2: we cooking. I could have paused it at the movie
- 2:07Speaker 2: theater right there. It was like, now we fucking. This
- 2:13Speaker 2: is the Logan I've been wanting to see.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:17Speaker 3: And especially because we didn't get this version in like
- 2:20Speaker 3: the X-Men movie.
- 2:23Speaker 1: PG-13.
- 2:23Speaker 3: PG-13.
- 2:24Speaker 1: The blood.
- 2:26Speaker 2: They were letting him wild out, but they were still
- 2:28Speaker 2: going soft.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:30Speaker 2: I remember when he shanked, I remember in X2, when
- 2:33Speaker 2: they invaded the mansion, and he stabbed that dude in
- 2:38Speaker 2: the kitchen. He was like, I'm gonna finally stab somebody.
- 2:45Speaker 2: What's Wolverine without the stab?
- 2:48Speaker 1: And also, Wolverine sucks as a human. Like his whole
- 2:53Speaker 1: character is like, man, I'm old. I'm sick of it.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I'm gritty. I'm wild. I hate Cyclops. I want Jean Grey.
- 3:01Speaker 3: I can never have her because this freaking Abercrombie and
- 3:06Speaker 3: Fitch model loser leader has her.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Right.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I'm drunk. I'm cigars. I'm motorcycle. Man, you need blood
- 3:14Speaker 1: with that guy.
- 3:15Speaker 2: And Jean want him too.
- 3:16Speaker 1: She did.
- 3:17Speaker 4: That's the other frustrating part. Ladies, be honest. Be honest,
- 3:24Speaker 4: have you.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Ever been in a relationship with somebody that you love
- 3:27Speaker 2: and you stayed true to, but it was another dude
- 3:29Speaker 2: that wanted the hell out of you? You wanted them
- 3:33Speaker 2: as well, just a little bit? Have you ever been
- 3:36Speaker 2: Jean Grey? We was just like, man, if.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I was single.
- 3:42Speaker 2: And not committed, I'd have gave you the coochie, because
- 3:46Speaker 2: Jean Grey want, She.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Wanted Wolverine to beat them kids. She wanted him, man.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Everything that made him bad just made her want him more.
- 3:55Speaker 2: For sure. Yes. And Wolverine, you'll probably get you the
- 4:00Speaker 2: business in the same, man.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Oh, my God. Scott Summers is going to be by
- 4:03Speaker 1: the book with the pumps.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Ladies, you want a wild night? Get with Logan, man.
- 4:10Speaker 2: He old, he been smashing broads.
- 4:13Speaker 1: For centuries. He got one more shinks for you. It's peen.
- 4:18Speaker 1: What if he undid his peen like that?
- 4:20Speaker 2: Shink, shink.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Oh, hold on now.
- 4:23Speaker 2: This is not going to work.
- 4:27Speaker 4: But yeah, I appreciate some of you ladies answering honestly.
- 4:30Speaker 1: That's good.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Because that be happening out here.
- 4:32Speaker 3: I can fix him. Somebody said I can fix him.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Let me tell you what I like about this movie
- 4:39Speaker 3: the most. Hugh Jackman's dedication to the role. I was
- 4:44Speaker 3: watching a YouTube video on his ADR performance.
- 4:49Speaker 1: You seen it?
- 4:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Oh, Tone.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Once he takes a little thing that makes him forget
- 4:55Speaker 3: he's broke and hurt, he got the little adrenaline shot.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:02Speaker 3: I said, man, this is why I feel the performance.
- 5:03Speaker 3: He was in the ADR booth going ham.
- 5:08Speaker 2: That's how I do my voiceovers.
- 5:11Speaker 1: That's how you be in the room?
- 5:12Speaker 2: If it's a running one, I'd be fully committed. I'd
- 5:16Speaker 2: be running in the alley like, I got it. I
- 5:21Speaker 2: was like, see, that's how you got to commit to
- 5:23Speaker 2: the voice.
- 5:23Speaker 1: You got to commit, man.
- 5:25Speaker 2: No, no physicality of you got to get the breathing.
- 5:30Speaker 2: We need to hear that voice shake from running.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Yes.
- 5:34Speaker 2: All that.
- 5:34Speaker 1: It was good.
- 5:35Speaker 2: All that.
- 5:35Speaker 3: He's up there with like, uh, Robert Downey jr. Is
- 5:40Speaker 3: Ironman for me where I feel like you are really
- 5:43Speaker 3: that character.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Oh yeah. You know, I didn't grow up with Ironman
- 5:47Speaker 1: nearly as much as I did with Wolverine. Right. You know,
- 5:50Speaker 1: But yeah, I thought the aging superhero angle was good.
- 5:57Speaker 2: I loved it.
- 5:58Speaker 1: He was like, he's got the five o'clock shadow. He's alcoholic.
- 6:02Speaker 2: He got a limp.
- 6:04Speaker 3: He got a limp. He got the busted limo. I
- 6:07Speaker 3: don't want nothing to do with nobody. Everybody I love
- 6:10Speaker 3: gets hurt. Stay away from me, daughter. Fake, fake daughter.
- 6:14Speaker 2: No point. I can't take this kid. Get the hell
- 6:17Speaker 2: out of my face.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Get the hell away.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Charles is like, man, Charles Xavier cussing now?
- 6:22Speaker 1: That was great.
- 6:23Speaker 4: I'm being a bitch, Logan.
- 6:24Speaker 1: What the fuck, bro? That's me talking to you about grief. Yes.
- 6:29Speaker 1: And he was scruffy too.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I was like, Charles.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Professor X.
- 6:33Speaker 2: He was Chuck in this movie.
- 6:36Speaker 1: He was Chuck Xavier.
- 6:37Speaker 2: He was like, man, fuck this, Logan. You got to
- 6:40Speaker 2: have some compassion in this bitch.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Bring that little girl along, man, so we can help her, man.
- 6:46Speaker 2: You know what the fuck I do. I've been doing
- 6:49Speaker 2: this for decades, man. I hauled all you raggedy motherfuckers
- 6:52Speaker 2: to my school. I was giving y'all money.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I was giving y'all nice whips, blackbirds to fly in.
- 6:59Speaker 1: NIL deal, man.
- 7:00Speaker 2: You can't even do this shit for me, man. Just
- 7:02Speaker 2: take this little Mexican girl and just get the fuck
- 7:04Speaker 2: on up out of here, man. God damn, man.
- 7:07Speaker 4: I be having seizures out.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Here and shutting the world down? Come on. His seizures
- 7:11Speaker 1: was earth.
- 7:13Speaker 3: That one he had in the hotel felt like it
- 7:15Speaker 3: was an hour long.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Logan was like... I felt, that was the one time
- 7:21Speaker 1: I felt bad for them henchmen.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Yeah, because they could see it coming, they were like.
- 7:25Speaker 1: And he was like.
- 7:28Speaker 2: He was killing people easy too, just like.
- 7:34Speaker 1: He was like.
- 7:36Speaker 3: And there's nothing you can do. Because they weren't frozen
- 7:46Speaker 3: all the way. They just couldn't move. Couldn't move, dog.
- 7:49Speaker 1: And Professor X was just like.
- 7:50Speaker 2: He's just at the window. And that makes mutants even
- 7:55Speaker 2: more terrifying. For sure. Because if you have a mental
- 7:59Speaker 2: illness that you just developed just from being human.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yes. Somebody as powerful as Professor.
- 8:05Speaker 2: X, he's having a seizure. You going to pay. He
- 8:08Speaker 2: can't control it. Oh, we paying.
- 8:10Speaker 4: You going to pay.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Everybody within the radius is like. Your brain is hemorrhaging
- 8:16Speaker 2: or whatever.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Car accidents, people falling down the stairs, brain loss, aneurysms.
- 8:25Speaker 2: They admitted surgery on somebody. Now they frozen solid.
- 8:29Speaker 1: The patient died. Patient dead. That's crazy to think about.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Man, let me tell you what I hated about this movie.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Soon as they pulled up to Eric LaSalle's family, I.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Was like, man.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I hated that.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I know y'all. They were big bowls of food blasts.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yeah, that was a great family.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Wooden serving dishes farm.
- 8:52Speaker 4: They had the full family dinner set up.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Man, I said, come on.
- 8:55Speaker 2: We got corn on the cob. We got mashed potatoes.
- 8:58Speaker 2: It was a perfect family. Dinner ass meal, dog.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Elyse Neal, Eric LaSalle, man, we got biscuits, y'all.
- 9:07Speaker 2: We got one, son.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Hey, man, at least let us get you a hot meal.
- 9:10Speaker 2: What'd you say, a hot meal? You're dead.
- 9:13Speaker 1: You got me, man.
- 9:15Speaker 2: You're dead.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Because hot meal, they got salad in a bowl with
- 9:20Speaker 3: the big spoon and fork.
- 9:22Speaker 2: For the proper talk.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Oh, man, at least let us get you a hot
- 9:26Speaker 1: meal before you get back.
- 9:27Speaker 3: On the road. Y'all going to feel their face. Then
- 9:31Speaker 3: X-23 came in and they hot milled this.
- 9:35Speaker 2: I hated that, man.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Oh, my God. And then they had the racist whites
- 9:39Speaker 1: already they was dealing with.
- 9:41Speaker 2: They was dealing with the racist whites all the time.
- 9:42Speaker 2: I'm glad they got this. Oh, my God. But, man, man,
- 9:46Speaker 2: that family, the son died, the parents died.
- 9:49Speaker 1: I was like, man.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Somebody said there's biscuits in there.
- 9:51Speaker 1: There's biscuits in here.
- 9:53Speaker 4: You know the biscuits they make in that household.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Oh, from scratch. At least Neil was like, man, don't
- 10:00Speaker 1: y'all worry, man.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Circle. Man.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Biscuits. They had the full spread.
- 10:08Speaker 2: And they just like, they going to die that night.
- 10:10Speaker 1: They going to die tonight.
- 10:11Speaker 2: That's the second time Logan didn't call somebody their life.
- 10:15Speaker 2: In that horrible, bullshit-ass Wolverine Origins movie. Terrible. He rolled
- 10:22Speaker 2: up on these old folks, old country folks living in
- 10:26Speaker 2: a barn somewhere.
- 10:27Speaker 1: They died.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Big time.
- 10:29Speaker 3: That's why he starts off the movie like, everything I love,
- 10:32Speaker 3: everything I touch, actually. He was like, everything I touch dies.
- 10:36Speaker 3: So stay away from me, little girl.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Move.
- 10:40Speaker 2: He was trying to stay away from that black family, too.
- 10:42Speaker 3: He was.
- 10:42Speaker 1: He was like, come on, man.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Man.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Logan, let them help you.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Let them love on you.
- 10:50Speaker 1: And look at this little girl.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Wants to go. Man. And then show no, get that
- 10:55Speaker 2: family cute.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Also, man, that little girl you talking about. She was great.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Along for the ride.
- 11:01Speaker 2: She was great.
- 11:02Speaker 1: When she was eating that cereal bowl, the way she looked,
- 11:05Speaker 1: I was like, y'all finna die. Y'all think because she's little.
- 11:09Speaker 1: She wouldn't give you the full turn around.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Nah, never. And when the thing came out of her
- 11:16Speaker 3: foot and she kicked the dude, I said, nah, she
- 11:19Speaker 3: had two here foot.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Wolverine just go three.
- 11:23Speaker 3: She had a two piece chicken tenders here with the leg.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Two wings and a leg. Three piece combo.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Can you imagine 11 year old, you henchman number six
- 11:38Speaker 3: and you see an 11 year old girl kill.
- 11:40Speaker 1: The first five.
- 11:42Speaker 2: I'm out.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Hey, y'all. Odysseus.
- 11:47Speaker 2: I'm out, bro.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Why?
- 11:49Speaker 4: I'm bending the knee.
- 11:53Speaker 1: We don't need this little girl. Man, whatever we got
- 11:57Speaker 1: to do, what if we didn't? We don't need this
- 12:01Speaker 1: little girl, y'all.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Trust me on this.
- 12:02Speaker 3: What if we didn't because she is hopping on these
- 12:05Speaker 3: people's backs, stabbing them.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Guns are not stopping her. She's healing. She's fast still.
- 12:12Speaker 1: She was killing people, man. Put her in the cuffs. No.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Cuffs are not, no.
- 12:18Speaker 4: I'm not doing it. Go in there with the cuffs
- 12:21Speaker 4: and cuff her up.
- 12:22Speaker 1: She'll let you. No, she won't.
- 12:25Speaker 4: No, the fuck she won't, man.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I love a doctor. I love an evil doctor.
- 12:31Speaker 3: And this had an evil doctor, like Stranger Things, Matthew
- 12:34Speaker 3: Modine's character. He's like the doctor who wants to perfect
- 12:38Speaker 3: the weapon.
- 12:39Speaker 1: I mean, bruh. He was like black family murdered. He
- 12:44Speaker 1: didn't care. He was like, let's get X-24 going good.
- 12:49Speaker 3: They killed him so hard, man. When he was fighting Logan,
- 12:52Speaker 3: I was like, man, you getting waxed, Logan.
- 12:54Speaker 2: And they were also responsible for the death of Caliban. Caliban,
- 12:59Speaker 2: once they came into his life, you know what I'm saying?
- 13:01Speaker 2: He's a mutant tracker. So did.
- 13:03Speaker 1: They pulled his clothes off.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Even though he killed himself. He did.
- 13:06Speaker 1: No, but like, that was actually his freedom moment. Yeah.
- 13:11Speaker 1: But they was getting him burnt up by the sun.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Like, man, let him get a taste of this sun.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Also, Stephen Merchant was really, he was unbelievable at that. Who?
- 13:20Speaker 1: Stephen Merchant's an actor who played Calvin.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, he was great.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Yeah, he's like a comedic actor, but he was not
- 13:25Speaker 1: playing around. Yeah, he was great. I actually like the
- 13:28Speaker 1: original villain, um, White dude with.
- 13:32Speaker 2: The hair and the arm. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. He's
- 13:34Speaker 2: from Narcos. He's so it. He's from that first season.
- 13:38Speaker 2: He's really charismatic. Yeah, he's good. I like him.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Yeah, he was a good.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Something Hoyt. His name is Hoyt something.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Yeah, it is.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 13:46Speaker 3: But I like that cat. Because I looked him up
- 13:47Speaker 3: after that. I said, man, I know him from somewhere.
- 13:50Speaker 2: What's his name?
- 13:51Speaker 1: His name is Boyd Holbrook.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Oh, Boyd. I think going back to a previous episode,
- 13:58Speaker 2: I think he would be a good John McClane, too.
- 14:01Speaker 2: He's got an everyman vibe.
- 14:02Speaker 1: He could. He could. You know what I'm saying? Boyd Holbrook.
- 14:07Speaker 1: And he hasn't had his breakout. That was the other
- 14:09Speaker 1: thing from Bruce Willis.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:10Speaker 1: That was like a breakout.
- 14:12Speaker 2: He has arrived.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Yeah, because them, you know, them, what do you call them?
- 14:17Speaker 3: The daytime soaps and stuff.
- 14:20Speaker 2: He was on Moonlighting, which was a primetime hit.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Yeah. I love that show. And then he did Blind Date.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I don't even know what that is.
- 14:28Speaker 2: That was before. That was 87. It was a movie.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Oh, okay.
- 14:31Speaker 2: It did pretty well. It was him, Kim Basinger, and
- 14:34Speaker 2: John Larroquette.
- 14:35Speaker 1: I like John Larroquette.
- 14:37Speaker 2: John Larroquette?
- 14:37Speaker 1: What'd you know about John Larroquette? High court. Yeah, okay, kid.
- 14:41Speaker 1: I like John Larroquette.
- 14:42Speaker 2: John Larroquette, man. Yeah, John Larroquette.
- 14:44Speaker 1: And then he did Die Hard. After that, he was off. Yeah,
- 14:48Speaker 1: he was off.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Off to the races.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Also, Professor X did the stereotypical, like, man, I'm having
- 14:58Speaker 3: the best night ever. And once you do that, X-24
- 15:03Speaker 3: was like, all right, y'all.
- 15:05Speaker 2: He said he's.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Having the best night of his life.
- 15:07Speaker 2: That's when I come in.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I'm going to come in and make it.
- 15:10Speaker 2: I really needed a night like tonight.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Shrink. As soon as he said that, they was like,
- 15:18Speaker 3: load them up. Hey, let's go kill everybody in that house.
- 15:22Speaker 2: He was like, Logan, this is a really good night, man.
- 15:26Speaker 2: I'm glad we came. He even was talking to the
- 15:34Speaker 2: fake Wolverine. This killer. He was like, man, Logan, let
- 15:37Speaker 2: me tell you something else, man. You know, just the
- 15:42Speaker 2: road trip, girl. You know what I'm saying? I just
- 15:46Speaker 2: really needed this.
- 15:49Speaker 1: It was like Buddy Guy in Sinners.
- 15:51Speaker 3: You know, before the sun went down, that was one
- 15:53Speaker 3: of the best nights of my life.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Oh, yeah?
- 15:58Speaker 2: Slink. Man, dog.
- 16:03Speaker 1: They killed him hard.
- 16:04Speaker 2: They did.
- 16:06Speaker 1: I was like, dang, Professor X. Man, it was tough.
- 16:14Speaker 2: And then Hugh Jackman's performance when he was burying him,
- 16:18Speaker 2: when he was just fighting the tears and just like
- 16:22Speaker 2: that bottled up emotion. And then he's just wilding out
- 16:25Speaker 2: on the truck and the little girl just watching him
- 16:27Speaker 2: just like. Yeah, he's just breaking down internally and emotionally.
- 16:33Speaker 2: He's losing everybody. It was just a lot going on.
- 16:35Speaker 3: This is why we feel like you should be able
- 16:38Speaker 3: to nominate comic book movies for Oscars.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Sure. Performance-wise. And if you would have gave that a
- 16:44Speaker 1: Best Picture nod, OK.
- 16:45Speaker 4: It deserves Best Picture and Best Actor.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Best Actor and Best Picture because that was a great movie.
- 16:53Speaker 1: I don't care if they just have powers, man. The story.
- 16:56Speaker 3: The old humanized version of a story that could easily
- 17:01Speaker 3: be the professional. I don't want to do this thing.
- 17:03Speaker 3: I got a protected little girl. I didn't want to
- 17:06Speaker 3: have to do that. So same thing with Leon. And
- 17:09Speaker 3: I got to die too. The girl lives on. Oh,
- 17:13Speaker 3: we can, Leon can get it. While I can't Logan
- 17:16Speaker 3: get it.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Come on, man.
- 17:17Speaker 3: I feel like Professor X, uh, Patrick Stewart could have
- 17:21Speaker 3: got a supporting nod.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Why not? He feel guilty. He said, my best night.
- 17:27Speaker 2: He was dealing with his guilt too.
- 17:29Speaker 4: Man, Logan was just extremely well done.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Is it top five superhero films for you?
- 17:36Speaker 1: It might be up there. I think it's top three
- 17:38Speaker 1: for me.
- 17:38Speaker 4: I got to really sit and marinate, but I think
- 17:40Speaker 4: it might be up in there.
- 17:41Speaker 3: For me, you know Dark Knight. You know I love it.
- 17:48Speaker 3: It might be, because I know Winter Soldier is up
- 17:50Speaker 3: there for me.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Infinity War is high up there. Infinity War.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Logan's top five for me.
- 17:55Speaker 3: I think the humanization of Logan and Professor X, the stakes,
- 18:06Speaker 3: the end. I like a movie when the hero dies.
- 18:09Speaker 3: When she made that little X grave, I was like.
- 18:14Speaker 1: I cried.
- 18:14Speaker 2: That little kid was acting, man.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Hey, what's her name? Daphne King. Daphne.
- 18:19Speaker 2: That little kid was acting.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Daphne King. She killed.
- 18:23Speaker 2: She was legit.
- 18:24Speaker 3: I liked at the end when all the kids, the
- 18:26Speaker 3: kids had their powers. They wasn't good. They wasn't strong yet.
- 18:29Speaker 3: They was just like, come on, y'all. They was like,
- 18:33Speaker 3: whatever the thing was like.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Hold them down, boy.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Man.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Ice boy. They was like, we don't have our stuff
- 18:39Speaker 1: good yet, but we trying to help. It was cute.
- 18:42Speaker 2: They little powers.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Was so flimsy and kicking in. Remember that one part
- 18:47Speaker 2: where they were over the main guy and he was
- 18:49Speaker 2: all like, he was looking up at them and they
- 18:51Speaker 2: were surrounded.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:53Speaker 1: One on one they ain't have nothing going.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Hell no.
- 18:56Speaker 1: But together they was like, hey, but we are killing
- 19:00Speaker 1: you though. Them kids killed some people. Them kids was
- 19:04Speaker 1: killing people.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Left and right in that movie. That one kid that
- 19:08Speaker 2: was able to make the.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Earth move or whatever, The main kid.
- 19:12Speaker 2: No, no, it was one of the, I think it
- 19:14Speaker 2: was a girl, or it might've been a boy with
- 19:16Speaker 2: long hair. And their powers were, they had like, they
- 19:21Speaker 2: were manipulating the trees and the ground to, and it
- 19:25Speaker 2: was all kind of like wood splinters coming.
- 19:28Speaker 1: To that dude and he just exploded.
- 19:29Speaker 2: And I was just like, ooh. But the main boy kid,
- 19:33Speaker 2: I feel like he had like earthquake, he might've been Richter.
- 19:36Speaker 3: He might have, let me check if we got it
- 19:38Speaker 3: on cast.
- 19:39Speaker 1: This is just Mutant 1, Mutant 6.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Oh, they ain't give them.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Mutant Child 3.
- 19:43Speaker 3: You talking about that little boy from that Mexican show?
- 19:45Speaker 1: Uh-oh. What's that Mexican show on Netflix? He's the lead
- 19:51Speaker 1: in it.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Mexican show?
- 19:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it's about Mexican kids in L.A. I hate when
- 19:59Speaker 1: the cast don't go in order on Google, man. Why
- 20:02Speaker 1: are you throwing the people who.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Him.
- 20:05Speaker 1: It was Richter. He was Richter.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Richter's powers is he can pretty much create earthquakes.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Got it. On My Block. That's the name of the
- 20:12Speaker 1: Netflix show. Yeah, he was in there. But he was young.
- 20:17Speaker 1: They were little, man.
- 20:18Speaker 3: They're like the kids from Stranger Things. When Eleven didn't
- 20:20Speaker 3: know her stuff yet. It was just her nose bleeding. Like,
- 20:22Speaker 3: they was at that level. But also, you'll die, though.
- 20:25Speaker 4: But the beauty of.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Old girl is the claws is the claws.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Now, she was developed. Claws is the claws, though.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Yes.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Claws is the claws. But she knew how to fight, too.
- 20:35Speaker 2: She knew how to fight, though.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Like, she was like.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Giving them work.
- 20:40Speaker 4: See the guy you work without the claws.
- 20:43Speaker 2: The claws is just a bonus package. I'm going to
- 20:47Speaker 2: kill you. I'm going to kill you and slice you up.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Yeah, man.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Logan is excellent.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Logan, excellent.
- 20:52Speaker 2: What up, y'all?
- 20:53Speaker 1: It's your boy, Kevin, on stage.

- 22:20Speaker 1: And now, back to the show. All right.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Y'all see how he was talking about Logan at length, yo?
- 22:25Speaker 1: Man, watch out.
- 22:26Speaker 2: The money he gave me, nothing.
- 22:28Speaker 3: What?
- 22:30Speaker 1: I watched it. I just wasn't feeling it. What do
- 22:33Speaker 1: you want me to say about the mummy, man?
- 22:34Speaker 2: I did not feel you guys serve.
- 22:39Speaker 3: But you guys serve is easy to make fun of.
- 22:42Speaker 3: The mummy was just like, man, this is a movie.
- 22:45Speaker 2: You ain't got no valid criticisms.
- 22:48Speaker 3: You kind of debunked what I had going. Once you
- 22:53Speaker 3: disarmed me, I was like, dang. It really, because what
- 22:56Speaker 3: you said, what really clicked that made me, because I
- 22:59Speaker 3: was ready to come and fight with you. But once
- 23:01Speaker 3: you said, Kev, the movie is The Mummy, I was like,
- 23:06Speaker 3: you know what? Somehow I got distracted about the heist aspect.
- 23:11Speaker 1: But the title is The Mummy. So once you said that,
- 23:17Speaker 1: I said, ah, Kev, you came in with the wrong approach.
- 23:19Speaker 1: That's unfair. Because when I was watching, I was like, man,
- 23:22Speaker 1: this kind of sucks as a heist movie.
- 23:24Speaker 2: The Mummy.
- 23:27Speaker 1: It's not a heist movie, Cam.
- 23:29Speaker 2: You told your mind to say the heist.
- 23:31Speaker 3: I said, man, this heist movie sucks. They ain't finding
- 23:36Speaker 3: no treasure. Whole time, the mummy doing everything he's supposed
- 23:40Speaker 3: to be doing. And I'm just like, and I loved
- 23:44Speaker 3: all the mummy part. But Brendan Fraser's part, I was like, well, Man,
- 23:49Speaker 3: watch out. But when the mummy came, I was like.
- 23:52Speaker 1: All right.
- 23:52Speaker 2: He did what he was supposed to do.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Somehow, in my mind, that was just the worst version.
- 23:57Speaker 3: I typed that in, and then I was like, man,
- 23:58Speaker 3: this movie sucks now. And then I just watched it
- 24:01Speaker 3: with that attitude.
- 24:03Speaker 1: I was like, man. I was watching it like, man,
- 24:05Speaker 1: we should really.
- 24:05Speaker 3: Watch Indiana Jones. I'm going to tell Tom that. Then
- 24:09Speaker 3: you ain't give me nothing on that. You was like,
- 24:10Speaker 3: it ain't that at all. It's the mummy.
- 24:14Speaker 1: And I was like, what? You know what, I'm a
- 24:16Speaker 1: coefficient on the honor, dude. It actually isn't a Heist
- 24:19Speaker 1: movie at all.
- 24:20Speaker 2: I mean, it was Treasure, it was Heist, but that
- 24:22Speaker 2: still wasn't. That was just to get us to the moment.
- 24:25Speaker 1: I plan to argue with you full time.
- 24:28Speaker 3: You came in and disarmed my whole thing. That's the
- 24:35Speaker 3: only movie I'm like that on, though. Because I was
- 24:38Speaker 3: just like, man, this sucks. And the CGI, I forgot
- 24:41Speaker 3: to say that.
- 24:42Speaker 2: CGI was dated for sure.
- 24:43Speaker 1: That's the other part, man.
- 24:44Speaker 3: It was taking me out of the movie, man. But
- 24:50Speaker 3: I remember watching it thinking the CGI wasn't good when
- 24:53Speaker 3: I watched it.
- 24:53Speaker 2: I know on the second one, the CGI on the
- 24:57Speaker 2: rock as the scorpion, he was half man. That was terrible.
- 25:01Speaker 1: It was awful. His is even worse to me.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, it's worse.
- 25:05Speaker 1: I remember being in theaters like, yo, this actually sucks
- 25:09Speaker 1: so bad.
- 25:10Speaker 2: They would have been better off having The Rock as
- 25:12Speaker 2: his regular self.
- 25:13Speaker 1: I agree.
- 25:14Speaker 3: And just calling him the Scorpion King. And he'd just
- 25:16Speaker 3: have a scorpion tattoo. He did not have to be
- 25:18Speaker 3: half scorpion. But that fake minotaur thing, I was like, man, this.
- 25:23Speaker 2: It was terrible.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Sucks.
- 25:25Speaker 2: They had to look at that and be like, this
- 25:27Speaker 2: ain't good, y'all. As they were making it.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Had to.
- 25:29Speaker 2: There must have been some deadline issues, a budget cut.
- 25:32Speaker 1: And they... Because this comes up a lot on CGI movies.
- 25:36Speaker 3: The... The CGI on pirates of the Caribbean is so good. People,
- 25:45Speaker 3: I'm included, people thought CGI was gonna keep getting better
- 25:48Speaker 3: and better, but they, because of money, they stopped spending
- 25:51Speaker 3: that kind of money on it. So it's gotten, that
- 25:53Speaker 3: was like, to me, the pinnacle.
- 25:55Speaker 4: The special effects in the pirate franchise.
- 25:58Speaker 1: It's the best.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Why? Especially on the sequels. Davy Jones looks incredible.
- 26:03Speaker 1: It's so good.
- 26:05Speaker 3: But now, I remember we was watching Black Panther and
- 26:08Speaker 3: Zazie was like, man, this CGI is terrible. The further
- 26:11Speaker 3: you go up the mountain, he was like, in the theater.
- 26:15Speaker 3: He turned around like, man, this CGI, y'all. It's not good.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it wasn't good, man.
- 26:20Speaker 1: They were fighting at the end.
- 26:22Speaker 2: It was mad CGI.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like we just, you know, a big
- 26:26Speaker 3: problem with movies today is they're not being created by
- 26:29Speaker 3: people who love movies.
- 26:30Speaker 1: It's for money mainly. Bottom line.
- 26:33Speaker 3: That's why AI is such a attractive tool for, you know,
- 26:38Speaker 3: if you're a hedge fund manager, regardless of what industry
- 26:42Speaker 3: you are in, you want to make the best thing
- 26:44Speaker 3: for the cheapest, not even good. It's like why McDonald's
- 26:47Speaker 3: burgers tasted good to us as kids, because they were
- 26:50Speaker 3: good burgers. But now you're like, let's just, even if
- 26:52Speaker 3: they're not as good, Let's make more. And that's how
- 26:57Speaker 3: they do movies. They're like, man, because if the whole
- 27:01Speaker 3: level of CGI goes down, then your movie ain't the
- 27:03Speaker 3: only one. Because at that time, Pirates is like, okay,
- 27:07Speaker 3: if we ain't going to do this level, then just
- 27:08Speaker 3: don't do it.
- 27:09Speaker 1: But The Mummy, I was just like, this heist movie,
- 27:11Speaker 1: CGI sucks. And then I had an attitude. But yeah,
- 27:18Speaker 1: you right, Tony.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Next time I'ma come in good on everything else. I
- 27:21Speaker 3: came in good on everything else, but I was out
- 27:23Speaker 3: on the moment.
- 27:24Speaker 2: You just said that.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I was talking, but I wasn't talking good. Man,
- 27:29Speaker 1: watch out.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Top 10 R-rated comic books slash graphic novels.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Cue it up. I'ma start off with my favorite, Blade.
- 27:40Speaker 2: 1998.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Wesley Snipes kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe before they
- 27:48Speaker 3: really did. And I ain't gonna hold you. I did
- 27:50Speaker 3: not grow up reading comic books, so I wasn't up
- 27:51Speaker 3: that much on Blade. So when they sold me on
- 27:54Speaker 3: the Daywalker thing, I was like, cause I love vampire stuff.
- 27:57Speaker 3: Lost Boys, like interview with a vampire. I was all in,
- 28:01Speaker 3: Dust Till Dawn, all that stuff. I was watching all
- 28:04Speaker 3: that stuff. But their whole thing was nighttime. Like that's
- 28:08Speaker 3: when they come out. And it was like, no, he's nighttime, daytime.
- 28:11Speaker 2: He outside all day, all night.
- 28:13Speaker 3: And also man, Wesley Snipes face, his costume, his weapons.
- 28:23Speaker 3: the fight choreography and the blood made that just a
- 28:27Speaker 3: great time.
- 28:28Speaker 1: So I'm gonna kick it off with Blade.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Blade is fantastic. I got no notes on Blade. The
- 28:32Speaker 2: special effects was trash, but Blade was just, I love
- 28:37Speaker 2: that movie. So I'm gonna come in with Logan.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Logan's good. We talked that length about it.
- 28:44Speaker 2: We already talked that length.
- 28:49Speaker 1: I'ma go Sin City.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Sin City's great.
- 28:52Speaker 3: As far as a stylized way to make a movie,
- 28:56Speaker 3: Sin City was like, man, we finna switch it up.
- 28:59Speaker 3: And I love a good noir. I love a man
- 29:02Speaker 3: that was a dame floating through the city, rain. Oh,
- 29:07Speaker 3: that scene with you and Terilisha, when he was trying
- 29:10Speaker 3: to get the dame thing going.
- 29:12Speaker 2: What are you doing here? Is it too soon to sing?
- 29:17Speaker 3: I was like, man, watch out. But nah, Sin City
- 29:22Speaker 3: was great. I didn't realize that was in 2005. That's
- 29:26Speaker 3: 21 years ago already. I feel like that just came out.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Robert Rodriguez did his thing with that.
- 29:32Speaker 1: I like him.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Robert Rodriguez?
- 29:34Speaker 1: Yeah, he makes his stuff.
- 29:36Speaker 4: He inspired me to apply to film school.
- 29:39Speaker 1: What?
- 29:40Speaker 4: I applied to one film school, got denied, and I
- 29:42Speaker 4: just gave up.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Man, how much did he inspire you?
- 29:45Speaker 4: Because I was like, yo, I can really make films too.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Yeah. You know what he did with El Mariachi?
- 29:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:52Speaker 2: He got his budget up a little bit for Desperado,
- 29:55Speaker 2: which I love. And then just how he was making movies,
- 29:58Speaker 2: like on his own. Like even now, like, you know,
- 30:01Speaker 2: he does his own editing.
- 30:02Speaker 1: He does his own.
- 30:03Speaker 2: So just, he really motivated me. And he showed me
- 30:06Speaker 2: a great breakfast taco recipe.
- 30:09Speaker 1: On one of the DVDs, he.
- 30:11Speaker 4: Had a breakfast taco.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Yeah, man.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Robert Rodriguez.
- 30:15Speaker 2: I didn't watch the Spy Kids stuff. That's for the kids.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Oh, man, watch out, man. Agent Cody Banks and them.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Yeah, watch out, man.
- 30:21Speaker 1: All right. Is it you? Yeah. All right.
- 30:24Speaker 4: I'm going to go with, this is any order.
- 30:26Speaker 2: I don't feel like ranking it up. Constantine, I like
- 30:30Speaker 2: a lot.
- 30:30Speaker 3: Great.
- 30:31Speaker 2: I like Constantine a lot.
- 30:33Speaker 1: That's DC. But who's the actor? Keanu. Yeah. Keanu been
- 30:39Speaker 1: in some stuff. Yeah. That's why we love him. He
- 30:42Speaker 1: been in some stuff.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Point Break, John Wick, The Matrix. Constantine.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Constantine.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Speed. Speed.
- 30:52Speaker 1: That's a good little resume.
- 30:54Speaker 4: He got a great resume. He got some stinkers though.
- 30:56Speaker 1: Who we all do? Who doesn't? I don't blame you
- 30:59Speaker 1: for your stinkers, man. You got to take a chance.
- 31:01Speaker 2: I love Constantine, man. The whole vibe of the picture,
- 31:05Speaker 2: that whole angel and demons. I love stuff like that.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Dark.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:11Speaker 3: Crow, not Crow the movie, but like, just feel like
- 31:14Speaker 3: crows is around.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:16Speaker 3: And he's good for that, for that, for that role.
- 31:19Speaker 3: Like Constantine, he brings a lot for Constantine. All right,
- 31:22Speaker 3: I'm gonna go Deadpool.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Oh yeah, for sure.
- 31:25Speaker 3: The Merc with the mouth, when they got him talking,
- 31:28Speaker 3: I hated the Deadpool when he was an X in
- 31:30Speaker 3: his mouth.
- 31:31Speaker 2: I don't know what you're talking about. Okay. You don't
- 31:34Speaker 2: acknowledge that?
- 31:37Speaker 3: Ryan Reynolds, and I love the story behind how he
- 31:41Speaker 3: got that made. He leaked the footage himself to show
- 31:45Speaker 3: people Deadpool's quirks, swords and guns, and sarcasm. Ryan Reynolds
- 31:53Speaker 3: kills that. I saw this clip where he was walking
- 31:55Speaker 3: around Comic-Con, this past Comic-Con.
- 31:58Speaker 1: As Deadpool.
- 31:59Speaker 3: In the gray one. Super dope. And it's so cool
- 32:04Speaker 3: that people have no idea. Just good vibes in Comic-Con.
- 32:07Speaker 3: But yeah, I love Deadpool. Actually, both his Deadpools and
- 32:12Speaker 3: Deadpool and Wolverine were good, but the entry of Deadpool
- 32:16Speaker 3: was like.
- 32:16Speaker 2: He was perfect.
- 32:17Speaker 1: He was great. He was great.
- 32:19Speaker 3: He's also on my list of like, you really embody
- 32:21Speaker 3: that character so much.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Deadpool, man.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Big Deadpool.
- 32:27Speaker 1: I'm going to come in with Watchmen. Man.
- 32:31Speaker 2: I don't like Watchmen a lot. The movie was good.
- 32:34Speaker 1: The miniseries was great. Regina King. And I'm okay with
- 32:41Speaker 1: you just making one season.
- 32:44Speaker 4: Don't mess it up.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Don't screw this up.
- 32:46Speaker 3: HBO was like, that's good. But the movie was good.
- 32:51Speaker 3: The series was better to me because they were able
- 32:54Speaker 3: to take their time.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Ozymandias.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Ozymandias. Man. So I've read, I've read the original graphic
- 33:00Speaker 2: novel of Watchmen and they were so spot on with,
- 33:05Speaker 2: you know, the only thing they, the only thing they
- 33:08Speaker 2: really changed up was they had like a, they had
- 33:12Speaker 2: like a, a paper, a newsstand guy and a little
- 33:15Speaker 2: kid bonding over stuff. They took that out. And then,
- 33:19Speaker 2: cause they were, they were like running through the whole
- 33:21Speaker 2: piece and then they changed. In the graphic novel, the
- 33:25Speaker 2: big thing at the end was this big one-eyed tentacle
- 33:28Speaker 2: that just dropped in Manhattan or whatever. But it made
- 33:33Speaker 2: better sense in the movie when it was just like
- 33:35Speaker 2: a bomb. That was a better change. In essence, to me,
- 33:40Speaker 2: the movie was better than the book. But I just
- 33:43Speaker 2: feel like they nailed it. I feel like they nailed it.
- 33:46Speaker 2: The casting was great.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Casting, what's his name? Rorschach was great. Rorschach.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Yeah, but I like Watchmen a lot, though. Yeah, okay.
- 33:55Speaker 1: I'm a big fan of Watchmen.
- 33:56Speaker 3: That's also one of my favorite HBO series overall.
- 34:00Speaker 1: I like that a lot. I'm going to go 300.
- 34:04Speaker 2: 300.
- 34:05Speaker 1: That's Greg's favorite movie.
- 34:07Speaker 3: Really? Yeah, he loves it. I asked Mel, it was
- 34:11Speaker 3: dead serious, if they had a boy. He was like,
- 34:13Speaker 3: I want to name my son Leonidas. And Mel was like, man,
- 34:15Speaker 3: watch out. Leonidas Goolsby? That don't even go. That's a
- 34:20Speaker 3: big Greek name. Leonidas Goolsby is crazy sounding. That's too
- 34:24Speaker 3: much syllable. But the stylization of 300, the way they
- 34:30Speaker 3: made it was like, I felt like, I don't want
- 34:33Speaker 3: to say revolutionary at the time, but it was a
- 34:35Speaker 3: great change of pace. That stylization of like the, they
- 34:41Speaker 3: love the good slow fast.
- 34:42Speaker 2: Slow down, speed it up. And the color gray was everything.
- 34:48Speaker 1: And the color gray, big sepia. The whole movie.
- 34:55Speaker 3: Leonidas is, it's not, that's the guy I always get
- 34:59Speaker 3: confused with, Russell Crowe.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Gerard Butler.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Gerard Butler, little baby Russell Crowe.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Big Irish. Big Irish.
- 35:06Speaker 1: I like Xerxes too. He looked like Dalsim.
- 35:10Speaker 2: He did.
- 35:12Speaker 1: But that whole thing, when they rained the arrows down.
- 35:17Speaker 2: A thousand arrows will rain upon you. Our arrows will
- 35:23Speaker 2: blot out the sun.
- 35:24Speaker 1: And this is Sparta? Yeah.
- 35:29Speaker 3: And the Spartans was going ham-toned.
- 35:31Speaker 2: They were, man.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Like, there was a moment I was like, yo, are
- 35:34Speaker 1: they going to pull this off?
- 35:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Because they was like,. But that movie was just like
- 35:42Speaker 1: a high-octane, good, Time.
- 35:46Speaker 2: Yeah. 300 was great.
- 35:47Speaker 1: 300 was a good time. I was all in.
- 35:51Speaker 2: And I like the way they made Xerxes look like
- 35:53Speaker 2: this huge.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Yo, he was 10 feet tall.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:57Speaker 1: And it was coming on the elephants and stuff. Yeah.
- 35:59Speaker 2: The visuals was crazy in that movie, man.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Bro, it was wild. Who was the director of that? Oh,
- 36:06Speaker 1: Zack Snyder. Zack Snyder, he did the Snyder cut.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Zack Snyder, he did Dawn of the Dead remake before that.
- 36:14Speaker 2: And then, of course, Batman and Superman.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Yeah. Zack Snyder, y'all.
- 36:22Speaker 3: I feel like that was his I'm Here movie. We
- 36:25Speaker 3: could do that on directors.
- 36:27Speaker 2: What?
- 36:28Speaker 3: Top 10 I'm Here as a director would be... I'm
- 36:31Speaker 3: going to jot that down for me and you, Tony.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Top 10 I'm Here as a director.
- 36:36Speaker 2: I'm going to throw in.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Throw it in!
- 36:40Speaker 2: I'm going to throw in Dredd.
- 36:45Speaker 1: I judged Dredd with Sylvester the other year. Wait, what's
- 36:48Speaker 1: the other Dredd, Tom? 2012. Who's in that?
- 36:51Speaker 2: What's his name?
- 36:52Speaker 1: He plays, what's.
- 36:55Speaker 2: His name on the board?
- 37:00Speaker 1: Oh, Carl Urban?
- 37:00Speaker 2: Carl Urban. He plays Dredd. You never seen it?
- 37:04Speaker 1: I only seen Judge Dredd.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:06Speaker 1: I only saw Judge Dredd. I missed this completely.
- 37:10Speaker 4: It didn't do well at the box office, but people
- 37:12Speaker 4: that have seen it, fuck.
- 37:13Speaker 1: With it, heavy. Yeah, way better than Judge Dredd.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Oh, it's a thousand times better than Judge Dredd.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Because I ain't love Judge Dredd.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Oh, it's not even close.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:21Speaker 2: This time, Carl Urban never takes his helmet off.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Oh, you all in.
- 37:27Speaker 2: I'm all in.
- 37:28Speaker 1: He never. Not once?
- 37:29Speaker 2: Not once in the whole movie does he take his
- 37:31Speaker 2: helmet off.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Oh, I bet you fell in love.
- 37:33Speaker 2: I was just like, now this is what I'm talking about.
- 37:35Speaker 2: Because them judges don't be taking their helmets off.
- 37:37Speaker 1: No, they at work.
- 37:38Speaker 2: And so, but, and the story is similar to, did
- 37:42Speaker 2: you ever watch The Rage?
- 37:45Speaker 3: I've heard of it. It's on my list. Cue it up.
- 37:51Speaker 3: Next time for you to pick the six, cue it up.
- 37:53Speaker 3: You're mixing up a little more than that.
- 37:55Speaker 2: I'm not mixing nothing up. But Dread, like the storyline, man,
- 38:02Speaker 2: they get trapped in this pretty much, it's a drug
- 38:06Speaker 2: kingpin kingdom. That's relegated to this one apartment complex. And
- 38:11Speaker 2: the judges get trapped in that complex. Oh, okay.
- 38:14Speaker 4: They're trying to get to the top to get to
- 38:16Speaker 4: the head drug dealer lady.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Got it.
- 38:18Speaker 2: What's her name? The girl from 300. The wife? The
- 38:22Speaker 2: wife of Queen. She's the head drug dealer. Wood Harris
- 38:25Speaker 2: is in it.
- 38:26Speaker 1: This movie. All you had to say was Wood Harris, man.
- 38:28Speaker 2: Wood Harris is in there, but Dredd is from it.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Lena Headey?
- 38:32Speaker 3: Yes. Yes.
- 38:33Speaker 1: That's Cersei. Cersei.
- 38:34Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, Game of Thrones, yes.
- 38:37Speaker 1: She's the head, the main drug dealer.
- 38:40Speaker 2: She's the main drug dealer. So Dread was just fantastic.
- 38:45Speaker 2: It was gritty, it was gritty looking, it was visceral.
- 38:49Speaker 2: They had a special effect to when people got high
- 38:52Speaker 2: on this drug that they were doing.
- 38:53Speaker 1: That special effect looked dope as hell. I'm going to
- 38:57Speaker 1: check it out then. All right, I'm going to go
- 38:59Speaker 1: V for Vendetta.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Okay.
- 39:01Speaker 3: That was just a good movie. I ain't got much
- 39:03Speaker 3: to say. It was good, but I didn't fully understand it.
- 39:05Speaker 1: I didn't either.
- 39:06Speaker 3: I just thought it looked cool, and I liked Hugo Weaving.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Hugo Weaving's voice performance was fantastic. I love Hugo Weaving.
- 39:15Speaker 2: You know what?
- 39:18Speaker 1: That movie showed me about the egg and the toast.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Egg and the toast? In that movie, she made.
- 39:27Speaker 2: I forget if he made it or she made it,
- 39:29Speaker 2: but it was, a piece of toast with a hole
- 39:31Speaker 2: in it.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Oh, Bird's Nest.
- 39:33Speaker 2: Is that what it's called?
- 39:34Speaker 1: Well, that's what Melissa calls it.
- 39:36Speaker 2: That was my first time seeing it. I was like,
- 39:38Speaker 2: I'm making that shit!
- 39:40Speaker 1: I had never heard of that before.
- 39:41Speaker 2: I'm making that!
- 39:44Speaker 1: Melissa makes a good version of that.
- 39:46Speaker 2: I love that, man.
- 39:47Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, okay. Back when I was Eggs McGee, yeah,
- 39:50Speaker 1: I think that's 10. That's 10, man, watch out, we're
- 39:52Speaker 1: done with this. Oh, wait, wait, wait, one more.
- 39:56Speaker 2: Okay. Spawn, 1997.
- 39:58Speaker 3: This thing is dope. I don't mention, I don't mention.
- 40:04Speaker 3: We hit 10, so I just wanna, I wanna mention Spawn.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Okay. Cause Michael Jai White, I was 14 when that
- 40:10Speaker 1: came out. The clowns, the devil thing, the hell.
- 40:19Speaker 2: Nope.
- 40:21Speaker 1: And I queued it up.
- 40:24Speaker 3: Homeboy's house. Hey man, you know, cause you know, I
- 40:27Speaker 3: can't watch no devil stuff. So I was like, hey man, y'all.
- 40:31Speaker 3: Cause he had Spawn. Cause I remember seeing that comic book.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Like when I would, I never really could, we never
- 40:38Speaker 3: could buy a comic book. But I remember seeing like
- 40:39Speaker 3: the Spawn covers would be super dope.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Spawn has one of the best costumes in comic history.
- 40:45Speaker 1: 1000%. And he had a great backstory.
- 40:47Speaker 2: Oh, his backstory is fire.
- 40:48Speaker 1: I was like. They need to re-up on the live
- 40:50Speaker 1: action Spawn. Now's the time. Now is the time. They
- 40:54Speaker 1: gotta do it correctly, man.
- 40:55Speaker 2: Because Spawn.
- 40:56Speaker 4: The Spawn that was released in theaters, it was PG-13
- 40:58Speaker 4: in theaters.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Was it?
- 41:00Speaker 2: Then when they put it on video, they had an
- 41:03Speaker 2: R-rated version.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Okay, that's why I was like, I thought it was R-rated.
- 41:06Speaker 2: No, theatrically it wasn't R-rated.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Okay, I didn't see the theatrical. I saw the R-rated.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Watch out, man.
- 41:12Speaker 1: And John Leguizamo was in there.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Well, he was great as Violator.
- 41:15Speaker 1: Violator. So, yeah. All right, man. Now we're done with that.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Yeah, man.
