- 0:18Speaker 1: It is time I believe your worries outside and laugh
- 0:25Speaker 1: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Dan ol Malley along
- 0:29Speaker 1: with Trade Trenholm and Sharma, and we definitely need some
- 0:36Speaker 1: laughs today because the three of us are Cowboys fans.
- 0:40Speaker 1: In a shocking move, the Dallas Cowboys traded Micah Parsons
- 0:44Speaker 1: and even though we just started it, we've never needed
- 0:47Speaker 1: Trey's Cowboys Anonymous more.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Oh, such a great video. I bought that thing so hard.
- 0:57Speaker 2: In the very beginning. I thought you were about depression
- 1:00Speaker 2: or alcoholism or something like that. And I'm like, oh,
- 1:03Speaker 2: my fuddy, Trey sad. You know, my dad had it
- 1:06Speaker 2: and he's passed it on to me. And there's a
- 1:08Speaker 2: dark cloud and there's this and I was like, oh,
- 1:10Speaker 2: and I was about to call you we're okay, and like,
- 1:15Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you right now, I'm a Cowboys fan.
- 1:19Speaker 2: I was like, oh, man, he got me.
- 1:22Speaker 1: But if you think about it, I mean, Trey has
- 1:24Speaker 1: been sober for nine years, and of all of all
- 1:28Speaker 1: the possible addictions, Trey's had just about all of them.
- 1:32Speaker 1: And the last remaining one really is his sports allegiance
- 1:36Speaker 1: to the Cowboys. Yeah, if we would Trey, can you
- 1:44Speaker 1: recap briefly the first handful of steps that you've shared
- 1:50Speaker 1: with us so far in Cowboys Anonymous?
- 1:56Speaker 3: Step one, we admitted we were powerless over the Cowboys.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Our team and its salary cap have become unmanageable. Step two.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Came to believe that only a power greater than ourselves,
- 2:08Speaker 3: namely an owner GM and head coach, could restore us
- 2:11Speaker 3: to sanity. Three made a decision to turn our fandom
- 2:16Speaker 3: and our falls over to the care of a god
- 2:19Speaker 3: as we understood him, someone who actually knows about football
- 2:24Speaker 3: and talent evaluation. Number four made a searching and fearless
- 2:30Speaker 3: inventory of our roster and the time we've devoted to
- 2:32Speaker 3: deluding ourselves about it.
- 2:36Speaker 1: We are going to share more of Treys thirteen step
- 2:40Speaker 1: program to cure us all of our Cowboys addiction. Leading
- 2:44Speaker 1: up two the first game against the Eagles on Thursday.
- 2:50Speaker 3: I forgot though there was I actually added a part
- 2:53Speaker 3: Step two.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Oh you did, uh huh?
- 2:56Speaker 3: Okay, so let me read step two again.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Came to believe that only a power greater than ourselves,
- 3:08Speaker 3: namely an owner GM and head coach, could restore us
- 3:10Speaker 3: to sanity. Someone who cares more about blue Stars than
- 3:14Speaker 3: blue label.
- 3:20Speaker 1: That is solid.
- 3:23Speaker 2: But if you've never had blue label, I mean it's
- 3:25Speaker 2: kind of a toss up. It's pretty smooth.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I'll tell you. What's not smooth is choking on the
- 3:34Speaker 1: blue star and when it's being shoved down your throat
- 3:36Speaker 1: to the Cowboys man, Yeah that's true. Okay, So what
- 3:42Speaker 1: tray are the news steps that you are going to
- 3:45Speaker 1: reveal to us for Cowboys Anonymous?
- 3:52Speaker 3: So step five admitted to our to, admitted to God,
- 3:58Speaker 3: ourselves and another human being that we suck and our
- 4:01Speaker 3: roster is doo doo and Dak is mid at best.
- 4:07Speaker 1: I feel like that was most of last season for me.
- 4:11Speaker 3: We're entirely ready for God, the NFL, or someone who
- 4:15Speaker 3: knows what they're doing to remove all the defects in
- 4:17Speaker 3: our in our roster.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Yeah all right, so we're halfway there, and we'll delve
- 4:27Speaker 1: into more of Trey's steps.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Do we do we get a do we get like
- 4:31Speaker 2: a weekly chip? How does it work?
- 4:35Speaker 1: That's actually a pretty good idea. We hadn't discussed chips yet.
- 4:38Speaker 1: We're just trying to get through the list before we
- 4:40Speaker 1: actually start counting whatever.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Well, I think now that we've talked about it. There
- 4:46Speaker 2: are people that will attend these meetings or and or
- 4:48Speaker 2: what they're called games.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Uh.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I think I think I'll be the first one to
- 4:56Speaker 2: show up and admit that I have a problem.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I love it well trade things. I have the biggest
- 5:02Speaker 1: problem of them all because I posted the other day
- 5:07Speaker 1: that about the about the trade that I didn't hate it.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Let me tell you exactly what I posted, just out
- 5:14Speaker 1: of the sake of, you know, transparency. So Thursday night,
- 5:19Speaker 1: after the news broke that the Cowboys had traded Michael Parsons,
- 5:21Speaker 1: I posted, if you're Big Matt at the Dallas Cowboys
- 5:24Speaker 1: for trading Micah Parsons. You weren't following the story closely enough,
- 5:27Speaker 1: And I threw in a photo of Michah Parsons from
- 5:30Speaker 1: their last preseason game lying on the trainer's table taking
- 5:33Speaker 1: a nappy nap during that game, to which Trey you
- 5:38Speaker 1: said right before we started the show today that that
- 5:41Speaker 1: is a poop poo take mm hmm, well your poo
- 5:46Speaker 1: poo it's lacking.
- 5:49Speaker 3: If you had given it. There's one piece of context
- 5:52Speaker 3: that that could have made it okay, which is of
- 6:00Speaker 3: the mess that Jerry made of the situation. How he
- 6:04Speaker 3: got out of it was the best option left. It
- 6:08Speaker 3: should never have gotten to that point, but it did.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Now that's where the argument can surface is who's it
- 6:18Speaker 1: fault to get to that point? And I'm not saying
- 6:20Speaker 1: Jerry is blame free in this, by the way. I'm
- 6:23Speaker 1: just simply saying that this is one of those rare
- 6:26Speaker 1: occasions where it's not all Jerry's fault. I in addition
- 6:30Speaker 1: to that post, I also said this is one of
- 6:32Speaker 1: the very few times Jerry Jones acted like an actual
- 6:35Speaker 1: GM The Cowboys reportedly get two first rounders and a
- 6:38Speaker 1: Pro Bowl defensive lineman. It's not the herschel Walker trade,
- 6:41Speaker 1: but it is the closest thing since that the Cowboys
- 6:44Speaker 1: have done. I'm not saying I love it, but I'll
- 6:47Speaker 1: live with it. What are you making a face for.
- 6:49Speaker 3: It's closer to the Luca trade than it is the
- 6:51Speaker 3: herschel Walker trade.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Oooh no, no, no, no, no no no no.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Ohd you've got an aging injured.
- 7:01Speaker 1: The MAVs wove got so little like to me, the
- 7:05Speaker 1: Micah trade and the Luca trade are in nowhere the
- 7:08Speaker 1: same ballpark. The Luca thing was so much worse. It
- 7:11Speaker 1: was worse handled. The trade value for it was abysmal.
- 7:15Speaker 1: At least this you get some workable pieces to build on.
- 7:19Speaker 1: With the Luca thing, it was such a trash trade.
- 7:22Speaker 1: It was like they it was almost personal. It's like,
- 7:26Speaker 1: why did you ask for so little? Anyway?
- 7:33Speaker 3: I mean so, I mean if the Cowboys, this is
- 7:37Speaker 3: what they get for waiting, you know, as long as
- 7:40Speaker 3: they did.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Had they done this last year, it probably would have
- 7:43Speaker 1: been fine. But Jerry doesn't do that. He likes to
- 7:44Speaker 1: wait for that last almost last year because they they
- 7:48Speaker 1: would have had Mica under control for another couple of
- 7:50Speaker 1: years if they really wanted it. But he waited on
- 7:53Speaker 1: Dak and then had to back up the truck even more,
- 7:55Speaker 1: costing him fifteen to twenty million dollars. Had he done
- 7:58Speaker 1: the Dak deal a year earlier, he would have saved
- 8:00Speaker 1: the team money. Why are you chicking your face right?
- 8:02Speaker 3: Because the DAC was is still one of the worst.
- 8:05Speaker 3: It's one of the worst contracts in the NFL.
- 8:07Speaker 2: NFL besides what's the kid from Houston that they traded.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Up the Cleveland Brown's, uh, Deshaun Watson.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Deshaun Watson.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I'm not saying it's a good contract. I'm just saying,
- 8:19Speaker 1: had Jerry made the deal a year prior, it would
- 8:21Speaker 1: have saved the team a lot of money. But he
- 8:23Speaker 1: waited and it cost him a lot more money per year.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Same thing with the Micah deal. If they had done
- 8:28Speaker 1: this last year, they might have gotten Micah roped in
- 8:31Speaker 1: on lesser dollars per year. They didn't do it for
- 8:35Speaker 1: whatever reason. Now, all that being said, Jerry wants and
- 8:39Speaker 1: I put this on the post. Jerry wants to pay
- 8:41Speaker 1: his guys. He always has. I think back to when
- 8:45Speaker 1: Zeke was doing his whole shenanigans in Mexico holding out.
- 8:50Speaker 1: How many fans were ready to see him go bye bye,
- 8:52Speaker 1: and Jerry still paid him.
- 8:54Speaker 3: That's you're missing a key, a key perspective on that.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Jerry likes to pay the guys that no one else
- 9:01Speaker 3: would pay.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 9:04Speaker 3: He overpays for mediocre talent and he lets great talent go.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Sometimes that that is the case, but if it's if
- 9:13Speaker 1: it is a top tier person, he wants to keep them.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Dak in his mind, Dak CD.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Mike in his mind, you know, Dak. At the end
- 9:24Speaker 3: of the year, when they go most you know, the
- 9:26Speaker 3: league does a deal of most overrated players. Dak is
- 9:29Speaker 3: always on the and these are the players voting and keeping.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Again, this is not a Dak thing. I'm not saying
- 9:34Speaker 1: Dak's worth the money that he got. I will say this.
- 9:37Speaker 1: In the NFL, the most important player on your team
- 9:39Speaker 1: is quarterback. They don't have a better option than Dak
- 9:42Speaker 1: right now. So that's why they had to pay him.
- 9:44Speaker 1: That's why they should have paid him a year before.
- 9:45Speaker 1: And it saved themselves a little bit of money. Yes,
- 9:49Speaker 1: and they could have done that too, but they didn't. Yeah,
- 9:52Speaker 1: but but that that goes to show. It's proof that
- 9:55Speaker 1: Jerry wants to pay his guys. And he tried to
- 9:57Speaker 1: get Mike assigned and Mike is like, well, yeah, I'm
- 10:00Speaker 1: good with this. They basically had a verbal agreement, and
- 10:04Speaker 1: then Micah's agent goes, no, you don't, We're not doing
- 10:07Speaker 1: it this way. And keep in mind, Micah said last
- 10:11Speaker 1: year he would happily take less. He said he doesn't
- 10:14Speaker 1: need that amount of money. Until this all started, all
- 10:18Speaker 1: of a sudden, he does need this amount of money.
- 10:20Speaker 1: And then he starts acting like an emo baby on
- 10:22Speaker 1: the sidelines and during a training camp, and I'm sure
- 10:25Speaker 1: that pissed off the team, and as a fan, that
- 10:27Speaker 1: annoyed me, like, it's not my money. But if you
- 10:31Speaker 1: think you're worth a certain dollar amount that you are
- 10:34Speaker 1: demanding and commanding, then you need to act like it
- 10:39Speaker 1: instead of acting like a baby on the sidelines.
- 10:42Speaker 2: But I also think his stats prior to that gave
- 10:46Speaker 2: him that value, so he can't he can't act like
- 10:49Speaker 2: an emo baby when he's also being devalued by the
- 10:52Speaker 2: guy who said.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Then don't be on the sidelines. If that's going to
- 10:56Speaker 1: be your attitude, just hold out and go bye bye
- 10:59Speaker 1: until something has happened. Don't go to training camp, don't
- 11:02Speaker 1: go to the games and be a distraction the kid
- 11:06Speaker 1: on the sideline.
- 11:07Speaker 2: But then you would complain about that, like, look at it,
- 11:09Speaker 2: look at him, How disrespectful is that. There's all that.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Now I've seen people's posts were like, well, you know
- 11:13Speaker 2: he's got back issues, so let him go.
- 11:15Speaker 1: He does not have back issues. You see the video
- 11:17Speaker 1: of him dancing around his living room at the announcement
- 11:20Speaker 1: of him being traded and being signed.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Yeah, everybody everybody has their like if they would have
- 11:26Speaker 2: signed him, the conversation would be different, but they didn't,
- 11:31Speaker 2: So another conversation everybody's trying to find the faults in
- 11:33Speaker 2: him and not the fact that Trey's right, Jerry Jones,
- 11:37Speaker 2: you need to put the emphasis on his guys. He
- 11:41Speaker 2: doesn't want to pay all he wants to pay in
- 11:44Speaker 2: his head who he thinks is going to take him
- 11:46Speaker 2: back to those glory days and was.
- 11:49Speaker 1: One of his guys until it switched.
- 11:53Speaker 3: But the probably with Dak, Jerry so wants the validation
- 11:58Speaker 3: that he's a football guy and he wants people to
- 12:01Speaker 3: know that he took that what was Dack a third
- 12:02Speaker 3: round pick or fourth round pick?
- 12:03Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 12:04Speaker 2: Fourth?
- 12:04Speaker 3: Yeah, he wants that, you know, He's like, he wants
- 12:07Speaker 3: that recognition that, oh I saw that, I saw what
- 12:09Speaker 3: no one else saw. He's never gonna get it he
- 12:12Speaker 3: everyone else saw what what he actually got.
- 12:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Now, if the Packers win the Super Bowl, I'll laugh
- 12:18Speaker 2: my butt off.
- 12:21Speaker 1: If the Packers win the Super Bowl, it's not going
- 12:23Speaker 1: to be single handedly at the hands of Micah, because
- 12:26Speaker 1: a Parsons, a Micah Parsons less Packers beat the ever
- 12:32Speaker 1: loving crap out of the Cowboys in the playoffs.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not saying that. I'm just saying the irony
- 12:38Speaker 2: would be if he gets traded the Packers and they
- 12:40Speaker 2: win a ring. Oh my, I mean nobody. I mean,
- 12:43Speaker 2: if the.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Packers win the Super Bowl, it's going to because it's
- 12:45Speaker 1: going to be because their quarterback did some amazing things
- 12:48Speaker 1: with help of Micah Parsons.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean Jerry would have to jump off the
- 12:51Speaker 2: high five. He would have to, he would have to
- 12:54Speaker 2: end it. He would never be able to live it.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Down Ross here's the thing. He wouldn't jump. You might

- 14:12Speaker 1: Micah Parson stuff a little bit later, but something that's
- 14:16Speaker 1: more pressing in our personal lives, and that's mainly you.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Trey in EU raj is this the list of places
- 14:23Speaker 1: that women refuse to go on a first date? Has
- 14:26Speaker 1: gone viral again. It was originally shared in twenty twenty three.
- 14:31Speaker 1: The post sparked wide debate over dating expectations and effort,
- 14:37Speaker 1: and its reappearances once again fueling conversation across social media.
- 14:43Speaker 1: The list of absolute knows from women for first dates,
- 14:47Speaker 1: and some of these might surprise you. For example, sporting
- 14:55Speaker 1: events came in at number twenty eight, number twenty seven,
- 14:59Speaker 1: waffle house twenty six. A bar just for drinks draws
- 15:05Speaker 1: a hard no from women, number twenty five, A hookah bar, nightclubs,
- 15:10Speaker 1: bowling at twenty three. Women say no to bowling now
- 15:15Speaker 1: far High State. Yeah, I feel like that's location specific.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Not in Cleveland. I'll tell you that.
- 15:21Speaker 1: For fact, I feel like like a tornado alley would
- 15:26Speaker 1: absolutely be fine with a bowling alley. Nebraska, Oklahoma, Kansas, Yeah, Texas.
- 15:32Speaker 3: I also think that the bowling thing would probably be
- 15:34Speaker 3: more venue specific, because like in Dallas there are a
- 15:38Speaker 3: couple of nice places you can go bowling that I mean,
- 15:41Speaker 3: they're like.
- 15:42Speaker 1: You take a first date to Penstack, You're going to
- 15:43Speaker 1: be just fine. Yeah, No, number twenty two somewhere that
- 15:48Speaker 1: requires a long drive. Well, you're not going to get
- 15:51Speaker 1: that with Raj anyway or Tray for that. I mean,
- 15:55Speaker 1: Trey will drive for a date. You've done that, You
- 15:58Speaker 1: did that last year. You met someone like pretty far
- 16:00Speaker 1: out for a date. Raj, that's a hard note for you.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Well, I'll drive. I just when I get there, they're
- 16:07Speaker 2: better be parking, but I'll drive right back. I love driving.
- 16:12Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, that's a really so driving to a
- 16:18Speaker 3: date one thing. I would never on a first date
- 16:21Speaker 3: go somewhere that requires a long drive because if they
- 16:25Speaker 3: get on my nerves in the car on the get go, man,
- 16:28Speaker 3: that's going to be a bad date and you're stuck
- 16:30Speaker 3: in a car with them for like an hour.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Now.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Yeah, but you can also do this. If it's that bad,
- 16:36Speaker 2: you can stop midway and be like, here's fifty bucks
- 16:39Speaker 2: for an uber. Yeah, I'm going the rest of the way.
- 16:42Speaker 1: You can pull a Tony Romo.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Yeah you can. You can stop it right there.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Number twenty two movie night like Netflix, Hulu, et cetera.
- 16:55Speaker 1: So going to a movie I guess so far in
- 16:57Speaker 1: this list they're still okay with but not at home
- 17:00Speaker 1: Netflix and Hulu. Number twenty family functions. That's a hard
- 17:03Speaker 1: pass for a first date, to be honest, that's one
- 17:06Speaker 1: of the ones I agree with him. I don't know
- 17:07Speaker 1: why for a first date you'd want to do that.
- 17:11Speaker 1: For a family function, I think you're really pretty. Do
- 17:16Speaker 1: you want to go to my godchild Christening? Ice Cream
- 17:22Speaker 1: dates at nineteen? Coffee dates at eighteen? Starbucks is seventeen.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Somehow that's different than coffee dates. So you know women
- 17:28Speaker 1: made this list. I'm going to get there more option
- 17:33Speaker 1: on that list.
- 17:34Speaker 2: There's more options on Starbucks, right, there's like lattes and
- 17:38Speaker 2: stuff that, yeah.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Snacks and such. A church? Okay, you met at church.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Do not do church for a first date.
- 17:49Speaker 2: If I show up with a chick a church. Do
- 17:52Speaker 2: you know she's hot because I'm Hindu? Yeah, if I'm
- 17:58Speaker 2: like he is my savior, she is hot? Who like
- 18:04Speaker 2: so smoking hot? We're all gonna question of whether or
- 18:06Speaker 2: not you made a deal with the devil, Yes, and
- 18:08Speaker 2: I would have. Yeah.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Fifteen women say absolutely not to a first date at.
- 18:15Speaker 2: The gym, Oh good, okay.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Fourteen Denny's thirteen I hop. I don't know why those
- 18:23Speaker 1: are somehow worse than waffle House as far as the
- 18:25Speaker 1: ranking is concerned, but there they are, next to each other.
- 18:29Speaker 1: A buffet at number twelve. Number eleven, Red Lobster draws
- 18:34Speaker 1: a hard pass from ladies on a first date. Now
- 18:36Speaker 1: we're into the top ten. Okay, quickside thing though, If
- 18:41Speaker 1: you want to date my mom, she is single, and
- 18:44Speaker 1: you can take her to Red Lobster. She loves it.
- 18:47Speaker 2: I love a woman that likes a cheddar biscuit.
- 18:51Speaker 1: What about one that loves all the cheddar biscuits like
- 18:56Speaker 1: own basket kind of thing? And who can blame her?
- 18:58Speaker 2: All? Right?
- 18:59Speaker 1: Here we go the top ten of the places that
- 19:02Speaker 1: women absolutely refuse to go on a first date, as
- 19:05Speaker 1: originally posted in twenty twenty three that has now gone ReViral.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Number ten, Wingstop, number nine, Buffalo Wild Wings really anti
- 19:13Speaker 1: wings here? Number eight any fast food chain. Again, there's
- 19:19Speaker 1: some get I get all those, yeah, but any fast
- 19:23Speaker 1: food chain really just kind of took away half the list.
- 19:26Speaker 1: I've already said, so that this list really could have
- 19:29Speaker 1: been like six or seven as opposed to twenty eight.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Number seven, your house. They don't want a first date
- 19:35Speaker 1: at your house. Okay, someplace in public. I get that.
- 19:38Speaker 1: The movies there it is. Apparently the movies is no
- 19:41Speaker 1: longer first date material. Now we're into the top five.
- 19:46Speaker 1: You remember how any fast food chain was number eight.
- 19:51Speaker 1: The top five is full of fast food chains that
- 19:53Speaker 1: women refuse to go on a first date. Number five,
- 19:56Speaker 1: Olive Garden number four, Chipotle number three, Chili's number two,
- 20:00Speaker 1: apple Bee's number one. What do you think the chain
- 20:05Speaker 1: restaurant of choice is for women to say absolutely not
- 20:09Speaker 1: on a first date.
- 20:12Speaker 2: You hit home like Applebe's, Chilis. You hit those, So
- 20:17Speaker 2: that's what I would have guessed.
- 20:20Speaker 1: There's a big one along with a big, big menu.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Cheesecake factory.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Cheesecake factory.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Yeah, there you go, cheesecake factory. Number one place when
- 20:29Speaker 1: women refuse to go on a first date. So now
- 20:32Speaker 1: that those are the twenty eight places they won't go,
- 20:34Speaker 1: good luck finding one they will go.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I mean, the lady that I'm seeing, we just kind
- 20:42Speaker 2: of we just did. The first date was at her place.
- 20:46Speaker 2: We watched the new episodes of South Park and yeah,
- 20:51Speaker 2: just kind of hung out. So the home thing, I
- 20:54Speaker 2: don't know that was her idea.
- 20:56Speaker 1: That sounds to me. But you guys already went out one,
- 20:59Speaker 1: so that's more of a second.
- 21:00Speaker 2: No, different, different, different lady.
- 21:01Speaker 3: I haven't gone out with Oh oh, and we're already
- 21:07Speaker 3: saying we're seeing her.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Yes, Oh what happened to the Russian?
- 21:11Speaker 2: He was very lovely. We had a very nice dinner.
- 21:13Speaker 2: She's just not really my type. She wanted to go
- 21:15Speaker 2: out for cigars afterwards, and I'm like, and I'm out,
- 21:19Speaker 2: so okay, but I'm like, that's what that was a
- 21:21Speaker 2: very Russian thing. I'm like, are we going to an
- 21:23Speaker 2: underground poker room? Like where are you taking me?
- 21:27Speaker 1: Yes? But no, we had we had a nice we
- 21:28Speaker 1: had It's very brave of you to decline a second
- 21:31Speaker 1: date with a woman.
- 21:33Speaker 2: I did it in public so she couldn't kill me there.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Uh no. So it was a very nice dinner and
- 21:41Speaker 2: we had some lovely conversation of a lovely hug. When
- 21:44Speaker 2: she's like, do you want to go with me to
- 21:45Speaker 2: the cigar bar here in Madison And I'm like, I will.
- 21:48Speaker 1: No, Okay, So for the girl that you now claim
- 21:52Speaker 1: you are seeing, it was her idea to come over
- 21:54Speaker 1: and watch South Park ye for me to come to
- 21:56Speaker 1: her place and on a first date. Yeah, okay, but
- 21:59Speaker 1: that's I guess that's different because it was her idea. Now,
- 22:02Speaker 1: had you proposed that she might who knows?
- 22:05Speaker 2: Maybe so yeah, maybe that Maybe that would sound creepy,
- 22:07Speaker 2: but wow.
- 22:08Speaker 3: That's a groundbreaking concept if she thinks of it. It's okay.

- 23:19Speaker 1: because I have a lot to throw out right here.
- 23:21Speaker 1: All right, here we go, Frankin Bunnies, zombie squirrels, mutant deer,
- 23:28Speaker 1: and now the first human case of the flesh eating
- 23:32Speaker 1: parasite New World screwworm has been detected in the United States.
- 23:38Speaker 1: I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say,
- 23:41Speaker 1: the apocalypse won't announce itself, but there will be signs.
- 23:47Speaker 1: And I think we have our first handful. Is there
- 23:51Speaker 1: any doubt that we are in the end times now?
- 23:54Speaker 1: It's just a matter of when the final thing drops?
- 23:58Speaker 2: This is there a sort of how Dan starts a cult?
- 24:08Speaker 2: The end Times are opponents.
- 24:09Speaker 1: My friends. I'm just in the corner over here, mixing
- 24:11Speaker 1: kool Aid.
- 24:16Speaker 2: It wasn't even it was flavoring. That's the worst part
- 24:19Speaker 2: about that.
- 24:19Speaker 1: It was knocked off kool Aid.
- 24:21Speaker 2: It was it was generic kool Aid.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Oh no, God, I don't know if I'm going out,
- 24:26Speaker 1: I'm not going out on dollar store kool Aid.
- 24:28Speaker 2: That's just.
- 24:31Speaker 3: The icy pops taken.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Like, I don't know if I'm making you drink Colt juice,
- 24:36Speaker 1: it's gonna be name brand stuff.
- 24:37Speaker 2: See. And that's why I would join. I like, I
- 24:41Speaker 2: want to be in a boogie cult.
- 24:43Speaker 1: I mean, look, it's it's sure, it's deadly, but it
- 24:46Speaker 1: is delicious.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Yeah. Dan's cult is a little bit below scientology. Yeah.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Mine actually will be the kool Aid cult. I will
- 24:55Speaker 1: smash my way through your living room wall and give
- 24:59Speaker 1: you all the reasons why the end times are here,
- 25:02Speaker 1: and you can take a sip out of me. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 25:05Speaker 1: have a sip of back Colt juice, which, by the way,
- 25:11Speaker 1: part of our cult before we do this is going
- 25:14Speaker 1: to be making and branding Colt juice and selling it.
- 25:20Speaker 2: It's so it sounds so hipsteristal if you made that
- 25:23Speaker 2: a vodka right now, it would fly off the shelves.
- 25:26Speaker 1: I'd buy it. Like sorry, sorry, snoop, eat your heart
- 25:31Speaker 1: out with nineteen crimes. I'm pumping out some Colt juice.
- 25:36Speaker 2: We should start this even making it up.
- 25:38Speaker 1: I mean, the Bible has their signs of the apocalypse,
- 25:40Speaker 1: but even the guys that wrote the Bible didn't think
- 25:43Speaker 1: of Frankin Bunny's deer, Bambi, herpes, zombie squirrels, and now
- 25:49Speaker 1: the flesh eating bacteria called the New World screwworm.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Yeah, that just sounds like a hip hop group, New
- 26:01Speaker 2: World Screworm or I think more emo, more emo.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Okay, Uh yeah, I got I could see that.
- 26:09Speaker 4: Uh.
- 26:10Speaker 1: The larva of the New World screw worm fly can
- 26:12Speaker 1: devastate cattle herds and is rife in parts of Central America. See,
- 26:17Speaker 1: that's part of the reason why some of the immigrants
- 26:18Speaker 1: are coming here. They're like, screw worm, We're coming to you.
- 26:22Speaker 2: What what what?
- 26:25Speaker 1: I have no idea I got. I got stuck somewhere
- 26:27Speaker 1: in Central America and Asia Central and and and and
- 26:32Speaker 1: both were horrific at defensive. And so I'm saying like
- 26:40Speaker 1: it started sort of like Guatemalan and it ended somewhere
- 26:43Speaker 1: like Far East Age and it was just all bad. Anyway,
- 26:50Speaker 1: The first human case of the flesh eating parasite New
- 26:52Speaker 1: World screwworm has been detected in the United States. That's
- 26:55Speaker 1: according to the Department of Health and Human Services, which
- 26:58Speaker 1: I find fascinating. Usually it's the CDC that announces these things,
- 27:02Speaker 1: but because a bunch of them have been fired or
- 27:04Speaker 1: resigned and there's distrust in the CDC from the COVID era,
- 27:07Speaker 1: that now HHS is saddled with announcing these things because
- 27:11Speaker 1: maybe people will believe it more. If we get to
- 27:14Speaker 1: the point where the Secretary of State is pushing vaccines,
- 27:17Speaker 1: you know we've hit a new low. But as it is,
- 27:21Speaker 1: this case involves a person who had recently traveled to
- 27:24Speaker 1: El Salvador, was confirmed to be screw worm by the
- 27:28Speaker 1: CDC and the Maryland Health Department. They said in a
- 27:32Speaker 1: statement that the resident had recovered from the infection and
- 27:35Speaker 1: the investigation confirmed there is no indication of transmission to
- 27:38Speaker 1: any other individuals or animals, which census is coming from
- 27:41Speaker 1: a government agency, there absolutely is. We're all going to die.
- 27:44Speaker 1: By the way, you have a quota on filling your
- 27:46Speaker 1: number of bottles of cult juice today, so get at it.
- 27:51Speaker 1: They also say this is the first human case of
- 27:53Speaker 1: travel associated New World screw worm biases from an outbreak
- 27:58Speaker 1: affected country identified in the United States. The risk of
- 28:01Speaker 1: public health in the United States from this introduction is
- 28:05Speaker 1: very low. Okay, sure, Jan, nothing to see here. You're fine.
- 28:16Speaker 1: You're not going to be eaten by a screw worm. Okay.
- 28:19Speaker 3: So is it a worm or is it an infection?
- 28:22Speaker 1: I'm it sounds like it can be both. It's fly larva,
- 28:29Speaker 1: So maybe fly lerva gets in you and then it
- 28:33Speaker 1: turns into a screw worm and then eat you maybe
- 28:36Speaker 1: from the inside out.
- 28:37Speaker 2: But then what wouldn't fly larva turn into a fly
- 28:40Speaker 2: I don't know how that would still be a worm
- 28:42Speaker 2: just scientifically. But oh am I I'm not at the CDC,
- 28:48Speaker 2: but yeah, I mean that would be that would be
- 28:52Speaker 2: hard to at your funeral, Like, well, was it the cancer?
- 28:57Speaker 1: No?
- 28:58Speaker 2: Oh? Was it his die? No?
- 29:00Speaker 1: Here, I don't know why that has anything to do
- 29:07Speaker 1: with this. Okay, screw worms, But well, what did he
- 29:10Speaker 1: die of?
- 29:12Speaker 2: I knew he was int the weird stuff, but what
- 29:15Speaker 2: killed him?
- 29:16Speaker 3: Told him to stay out of neck and fight club.

- 30:02Speaker 1: tell your friends and family that you listen and laugh
- 30:05Speaker 1: to the Treehouse Show and let's grow. In the last
- 30:12Speaker 1: week or so, we have mentioned one of our favorite
- 30:15Speaker 1: comedies of all time, Airplane, and that movie came out
- 30:19Speaker 1: all the way back in nineteen eighty and it is
- 30:23Speaker 1: a classic. We may disagree on the Cowboys trading Michael
- 30:27Speaker 1: Parsons and certain details of that, but we all agree
- 30:30Speaker 1: that airplane is a classic comedy. Now, Collider dot com thought,
- 30:38Speaker 1: you know what, let's all get together, put our big
- 30:40Speaker 1: brains in one pile and come up with the ten
- 30:44Speaker 1: funniest movies of the past fifty years.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Oh interesting? Okay?
- 30:50Speaker 1: Yeah? So are these the ten funniest movies of the
- 30:54Speaker 1: last fifty years? Collider dot com thinks, so, I'm curious
- 30:59Speaker 1: to know what you think. Number ten came out in
- 31:03Speaker 1: two thousand and four, Anchor Man, The Legend of Ron Burgundy.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Do you think that is a top ten comedy over
- 31:12Speaker 1: the last fifty years?
- 31:13Speaker 2: Absolutely not?
- 31:14Speaker 1: Okay, all right. Number nine, A Fish called Wanda Jami
- 31:21Speaker 1: Curtis came out nineteen eighty eight. Line. I will admit
- 31:27Speaker 1: I have seen it, but it's been a very long time,
- 31:30Speaker 1: and I don't remember a whole lot about it. And
- 31:32Speaker 1: I think I was a kid, so don't I didn't
- 31:34Speaker 1: really get a lot of it.
- 31:35Speaker 2: I think John Cleese was in that as well.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Yep, I need that's one I need to watch. I'd say, rewatch,
- 31:40Speaker 1: but I don't necessarily think it should count when I
- 31:42Speaker 1: watched it when I was like, you know, eight, But
- 31:46Speaker 1: you guys agree, Fish called Wanda would be a top
- 31:48Speaker 1: ten over the last fifty years. Okay, number eight in
- 31:52Speaker 1: two thousand and seven, super Bad. No, I'm with you there.
- 31:59Speaker 1: I liked the movie, but I don't think I would
- 32:02Speaker 1: put it in the top ten funniest movies over the
- 32:05Speaker 1: last fifty years. No, No, number seven. I don't take
- 32:11Speaker 1: any fault with this, kind of like the Mica trade.
- 32:14Speaker 1: I don't have a problem with its inclusion in the
- 32:16Speaker 1: top ten from nineteen seventy nine, The Life of Brian.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, that's good.
- 32:22Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Just seeing the title it makes me laugh.
- 32:25Speaker 1: I mean, just seeing the title of a movie making
- 32:28Speaker 1: me laugh says a lot about the movie. Yeah, and
- 32:31Speaker 1: just that opening scene, just open up, the shutters scene,
- 32:36Speaker 1: all the way to the end, everyone on the crosses
- 32:41Speaker 1: singing about life, looking on the bright side of life.
- 32:47Speaker 1: That's like twenty dudes are crucified. Oh okay, all right,
- 32:55Speaker 1: Number six, nineteen ninety four Clerks.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Oh, it was good. I'd put in the top twenty. Yeah,
- 33:06Speaker 2: I wouldn't put it in the top ten.
- 33:08Speaker 1: I might. It'd be difficult to make a list like this.
- 33:11Speaker 1: I will admit that, because there were some very funny
- 33:13Speaker 1: movies over the last fifty years, and Clerks was very
- 33:16Speaker 1: different at the time. You were talking about a movie
- 33:18Speaker 1: that was made for like a thousand bucks. Yeah, and
- 33:20Speaker 1: it has some classic lines, not the least of which
- 33:23Speaker 1: is his girlfriend and the things that she did thirty
- 33:27Speaker 1: seven times in a row. Number five, Here we go.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Top five funniest movies over the last fifty years, according
- 33:39Speaker 1: to Collider dot com. Nineteen ninety eight's The Big Lebowski.
- 33:45Speaker 2: I mean a cult classic, brilliant movie. I don't know
- 33:47Speaker 2: about top ten comedy. I agree.
- 33:51Speaker 1: I love that movie. I would not slap it in
- 33:53Speaker 1: the top ten. Yeah, funniest films in the last fifty years.
- 33:56Speaker 3: I would kind of lump that in with Clerks of
- 33:58Speaker 3: if you were doing cultural, yeah, impactful, you know. Yeah,
- 34:02Speaker 3: but top ten funniest No.
- 34:04Speaker 1: Number four from twenty eleven Bridesmaids. I will say it
- 34:13Speaker 1: was certainly toilet humor. But yeah, of movies in the
- 34:17Speaker 1: last fifty years, the scene where they all have food
- 34:21Speaker 1: poisoning is among one of the like the hardest laughing
- 34:25Speaker 1: sessions I've had with a film. And I realized it's
- 34:28Speaker 1: completely low hanging fruit. It's toilet humor and everything. But
- 34:32Speaker 1: I'm sorry when when she wouldn't Melissa McCarthy, even though
- 34:34Speaker 1: she's polarizing, says it's coming out like hot lof I
- 34:37Speaker 1: just lost it. That was a great scene.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Yeah, but I don't think that qualifies the movie into
- 34:43Speaker 2: the top five.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Number three, I think Trey is going to be okay
- 34:50Speaker 1: with this one. Nineteen ninety six is the Bird Cage.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, yeah, that's a good one.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Again. That's when I need to go back and rewatch
- 35:00Speaker 1: because that that was a movie. I laughed hard. I mean,
- 35:04Speaker 1: Gene Hackman playing off of just over the top Nathan Lady.
- 35:10Speaker 2: Yes, but Hank Khazaria steals that movie.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Oh absolutely, yeah, he's so good.
- 35:15Speaker 1: The whole movie's so good.
- 35:18Speaker 2: He steals that movie.
- 35:19Speaker 1: And they did a really good job casting the couple
- 35:22Speaker 1: that brings these two families together, because I can kind
- 35:26Speaker 1: of remember the guy's face. I don't even remember the girl.
- 35:29Speaker 1: And they should be forgettable because you don't want them
- 35:31Speaker 1: taking away from.
- 35:32Speaker 3: The star power of the parents on both don't remember
- 35:35Speaker 3: Calista Flockhart, that's who it was.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Yes, okay, he was a little forgettable and it was fine.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Number two nineteen eighty four's this is Spinal Tap.
- 35:47Speaker 2: Oh for sure, Absolutely, yeah, I agree. I wouldn't put
- 35:55Speaker 2: it at number two. Yeah, I put it in the
- 35:57Speaker 2: top ten. It'd probably be eight for me. But I
- 36:01Speaker 2: do believe they're making Spinal Tap two.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Yes they are, and I.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Don't know if they should, but I will go. I
- 36:09Speaker 2: will see it, but because I mean, all the all
- 36:12Speaker 2: the cast is still around, so I will still watch it.
- 36:15Speaker 2: But Spinal Tap great movie.
- 36:17Speaker 1: I am with you. I know I've seen that movie,
- 36:21Speaker 1: but it was an extremely long time ago. I need
- 36:23Speaker 1: to I need to write down my list of the
- 36:25Speaker 1: films that I need to watch slash rewatch because it's
- 36:27Speaker 1: been so long, and Spinal Tap is one of them. Yeah,
- 36:31Speaker 1: and it is one of the most quoted movies of
- 36:33Speaker 1: all time. Would just then turn it up to eleven
- 36:36Speaker 1: and the level will say that and have no idea
- 36:39Speaker 1: of its origin, right, I've seen that.
- 36:41Speaker 2: I've seen like young kids like turn up to eleven
- 36:43Speaker 2: and I'm like, you don't know where that came.
- 36:45Speaker 1: That gave no fing clue where that came from? Do you?
- 36:49Speaker 1: Number one, According to Collider dot com, the funniest movie
- 36:53Speaker 1: of the last fifty years is Airplane.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Yes, I mean, you know, we left out a lot
- 37:06Speaker 2: of I mean, I can't believe nothing from No Brooks
- 37:11Speaker 2: really made it into Blazing Saddles Blazing History of the World.
- 37:17Speaker 1: I'm with you the fact that that's not on there.
- 37:19Speaker 1: I mean, I like, look, i'd love Spaceballs. I wouldn't
- 37:23Speaker 1: put it in the top ten. It might be the
- 37:24Speaker 1: top ten in my heart, yes, but no Blazing Saddles. Honestly,
- 37:30Speaker 1: if you had Blazing Saddles and Airplane one and two
- 37:34Speaker 1: in either order, right, I don't think anyone would be
- 37:37Speaker 1: mad about it. But the fact that Collider dot com
- 37:41Speaker 1: and did not include it is such such a just
- 37:45Speaker 1: it it affects the credibility of the list.
- 37:48Speaker 2: An Airplane two was actually really good as well. Like,
- 37:52Speaker 2: people don't realize that William Shatner killed me in that movie.
- 37:56Speaker 2: It's just the biggest it was playing William Shatner was him.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Well, look, I mean, if we're being honest, if you're
- 38:02Speaker 1: going to make a list of the top ten funniest
- 38:04Speaker 1: films over the last fifty years and you don't include
- 38:07Speaker 1: Blazing Saddles, your credibility is in question. Also, if you
- 38:12Speaker 1: can't bother to include at least one Police Academy, I'm
- 38:15Speaker 1: looking at you, sideways.
- 38:17Speaker 2: I never found those movies funny and GW. Bailey was
- 38:20Speaker 2: one of my professors in college, and I never had
- 38:25Speaker 2: the ard to tell them I don't find any of
- 38:28Speaker 2: those funny. I thought Michael Winslow was great because I
- 38:30Speaker 2: like the sound effect thing. That's pretty cool. And if
- 38:33Speaker 2: you ever go to lunch with them, he does it.
- 38:38Speaker 1: Any glaring omissions from the list tray for you, I.
- 38:43Speaker 3: Would have put Old School and or Animal House.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Oh yeah. I wonder if they were trying to go
- 38:50Speaker 2: like a politically politically correct route they.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Had to, because if that's the case, then that would
- 38:56Speaker 1: explain why Blazing Saddles and Animal House are not on
- 38:59Speaker 1: the list. Same could be said for Fast Times at
- 39:02Speaker 1: Ridgemont High.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Oh yeah, for sure. Uh you know, and then like
- 39:08Speaker 2: the top ten, I don't know what's out for me.
- 39:14Speaker 2: I mean, Monty Python's a holy grail. I don't know
- 39:17Speaker 2: how long that didn't make it same.
- 39:19Speaker 1: I'm right there with you, Yeah, mel Brooks, Monty Python,
- 39:24Speaker 1: holy grail, Come on, man.
- 39:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Now they may not have intended it to be funny,
- 39:29Speaker 1: but if you go and you watch American Ninja four,
- 39:37Speaker 1: you don't laugh.
- 39:40Speaker 3: The annihilation.

- 40:05Speaker 1: Today is September first, twenty twenty five. Hope you're having
- 40:10Speaker 1: an outstanding labor day and we're going to celebrate with
- 40:15Speaker 1: some birthdays. September first birthday babies. Zindaiya, Zandia whatever. Zindeia
- 40:24Speaker 1: is twenty eight years old today. She is whatever, however
- 40:29Speaker 1: you say her name, and the Dune movies, the New
- 40:31Speaker 1: Dune movies. She's also Rue Bennett on HBO's Euphoria and
- 40:35Speaker 1: Michelle Jones mj in the New Spider Man movies. In
- 40:39Speaker 1: the MCU quick question, I've either of you seen the
- 40:43Speaker 1: New Dune movie with Zendia and Timothy Sallame.
- 40:47Speaker 3: It's part one. I have not seen part two.
- 40:51Speaker 1: I've seen both. Yeah, it's good.
- 40:54Speaker 3: I guess.
- 40:55Speaker 1: I mean, it's star studded cast, there's no doubt. I guess.
- 40:58Speaker 1: I just I don't. I don't for some reason that movie,
- 41:02Speaker 1: with the premise of it, even though it's very it's
- 41:04Speaker 1: kind of similar to you, like Star Wars type stuff,
- 41:06Speaker 1: sci fi and all that, it just doesn't really pull
- 41:09Speaker 1: me in. Although I will say I am fascinated by
- 41:13Speaker 1: the arc of Timothy Chalameange's character where it's like he's
- 41:16Speaker 1: supposed to be a freedom fighter and he's out for
- 41:18Speaker 1: revenge because they killed his family, and then he basically
- 41:21Speaker 1: is going to turn into a really bad dude. That
- 41:24Speaker 1: part's interesting.
- 41:26Speaker 3: I thought they did an excellent job with part one,
- 41:28Speaker 3: and like I just I don't know why I never
- 41:31Speaker 3: watched part two, just the.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Way I look at it. If you if you saw
- 41:35Speaker 1: part one, then you should absolutely see part Like if
- 41:38Speaker 1: you saw part one and you at least liked it,
- 41:41Speaker 1: then you should definitely see the second one. Other birthdays today,
- 41:47Speaker 1: let's see here JD Fortune. He won rock Star in
- 41:51Speaker 1: excess to replace the late Michael Hutchins as lead singer.
- 41:56Speaker 1: He is fifty two today. However, he's not been with
- 41:59Speaker 1: him since twenty eleven for vastly different reasons than Michael
- 42:03Speaker 1: Hutchins is no longer with them.
- 42:05Speaker 2: Yeah, didn't they replaced him with because Michael Hutchinson has
- 42:08Speaker 2: a brother that looks just like him, and I.
- 42:10Speaker 1: Really that's yes. Now, did they not get him in
- 42:14Speaker 1: the first place?
- 42:15Speaker 2: That was the whole thing. I'm sure it was like
- 42:18Speaker 2: we got this new reality show that we're going to
- 42:20Speaker 2: do and when you win, you can be the frontman
- 42:22Speaker 2: for in Access And he's like, uh, hello, I can
- 42:26Speaker 2: do that now.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Like he's in the front row and they're just looking
- 42:29Speaker 1: above him, like over his head, like anyone anyone in here.
- 42:32Speaker 2: Like, yeah, I believe it's I think they almost look similar.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Interesting. My still my my favorite though, as far as
- 42:40Speaker 1: replacing a lead singer in a band, My favorite story
- 42:44Speaker 1: is Steve Perry leaving Journey and then Journey finding its
- 42:47Speaker 1: new frontman had a karaoke bar in the Philippines. Dude
- 42:52Speaker 1: sounds just like Steve Perry.
- 42:53Speaker 3: I found him on YouTube.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, on YouTube.
- 42:57Speaker 2: Arnell Perneda is his name, and the two bartenders at
- 43:01Speaker 2: the laugh Actory you're both Filipino. And then when he
- 43:04Speaker 2: got the gig they were it was like it was
- 43:06Speaker 2: like India won the World Cup. Like that's like like
- 43:09Speaker 2: that's how they acted like Philippine, Like can you believe it?
- 43:11Speaker 2: I was like, he's a karaoke singer. The best part
- 43:15Speaker 2: of what did they say is the greatest form of
- 43:18Speaker 2: flattery's imitation, right, And that's what it is. And I
- 43:22Speaker 2: would never go but I did like when they get
- 43:24Speaker 2: inducted in the Hall of Fames. Steve Perry didn't stand
- 43:27Speaker 2: up and walk on stage with them. He's still sat
- 43:29Speaker 2: in the front and then after they were done with
- 43:32Speaker 2: their speech, he went up and spoke, and I thought
- 43:34Speaker 2: that was classic because like, let him have his moment.
- 43:38Speaker 2: What was the what?
- 43:40Speaker 1: What was what happened there?
- 43:42Speaker 3: Steve Perry lost his voice?
- 43:44Speaker 2: Okay, well he also had an he was good. They
- 43:47Speaker 2: wanted to go on tour. Steve was like, I don't
- 43:49Speaker 2: want to go yet, and everybody was fighting to go
- 43:51Speaker 2: on tour. So he was training because the front man
- 43:55Speaker 2: like just because of how much work you have to
- 43:56Speaker 2: do on stage. So he was like running near his
- 43:59Speaker 2: house and whole and he got to the top of
- 44:01Speaker 2: a hill and he couldn't move and he had to
- 44:03Speaker 2: have a hip replacement. They found it out later and
- 44:07Speaker 2: simultaneously with what Tray said, like he had to have
- 44:10Speaker 2: like vocal lessons and I think he had like pull
- 44:12Speaker 2: ups on his vocal cord or something like that. So
- 44:15Speaker 2: he's like, I'm gonna be out for another six months.
- 44:16Speaker 2: When when I'm done, we'll resume the tour. And the
- 44:19Speaker 2: band was like, you're fired, because they so jacked up Yeah,
- 44:23Speaker 2: they just wanted to go back out on the road
- 44:25Speaker 2: and make money. Well they found this kid.
- 44:27Speaker 3: I think, I think, because I don't think he's still
- 44:29Speaker 3: like I think it was I might be able to
- 44:32Speaker 3: sing again. And they were like, yeah, sorry, we're not
- 44:35Speaker 3: waiting for you.
- 44:36Speaker 1: And I don't know how long of a time frame
- 44:38Speaker 1: it was from when they fired Steve Perry when they
- 44:40Speaker 1: got the Filipino YouTuber. But it wasn't immediate like it
- 44:44Speaker 1: it took some time.
- 44:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Anyway, that's just such a fascinating story. Just to have
- 44:50Speaker 1: greed takeover that much. It's like, but sucks for you, Steve.
- 44:54Speaker 1: We're gonna We're just gonna find some somebody and keep
- 44:57Speaker 1: on going.
- 44:58Speaker 2: The best part of it is he wrote the majority
- 45:02Speaker 2: of their songs, so when they go out and perform,
- 45:05Speaker 2: like I think it's him, one other guy that writes
- 45:07Speaker 2: the songs for it, Like he still gets paid. Yeah,
- 45:09Speaker 2: so he's like when they went up there to accept
- 45:11Speaker 2: the award, you know, the deduction of the Hall of Fame,
- 45:14Speaker 2: you could have seen the smile on his face, like Graskins,
- 45:19Speaker 2: he should have.
- 45:19Speaker 1: Said thank you. In Filipino, you're listening to.

- 46:07Speaker 1: for the show today, Tray, is there any more taking
- 46:10Speaker 1: to task you would like to do to me over
- 46:12Speaker 1: the Micah Parsons trade away from the Cowboys to the Packers. Again,
- 46:17Speaker 1: let me just reiterate, I don't love the trade. I
- 46:20Speaker 1: don't love the situation, but based on what happened, I
- 46:23Speaker 1: can live with what they got for him.
- 46:26Speaker 3: Then, like I told you, I'm gonna save a chair
- 46:28Speaker 3: for you when you're when you're ready to quit your
- 46:31Speaker 3: addiction you have, there's a spot spot for you.
- 46:36Speaker 1: At Cowboys Anonymous.
- 46:37Speaker 2: I'll be your sponsor.
- 46:40Speaker 1: Can it can be next to the coffee and the
- 46:43Speaker 1: donuts so I can just kind of reach over and
- 46:44Speaker 1: just absolutely plenty.
- 46:46Speaker 2: If you can call me anytime day or night, and
- 46:48Speaker 2: I'll explain to you what happened during the game.
- 46:54Speaker 1: I don't feel like that's a good sponsor.
- 46:58Speaker 2: I just don't want you to relapse to nineteen ninety
- 47:00Speaker 2: six or nineteen ninety three. They actually won a championship.
- 47:06Speaker 2: I don't want you to revert back to then.
- 47:10Speaker 1: I will say this, I was thinking that my my
- 47:14Speaker 1: worst nightmare was going to be that if Micah left
- 47:19Speaker 1: and whatever was that he would have tried everything within
- 47:23Speaker 1: his power and his agent's power to land in Washington
- 47:29Speaker 1: to be reunited with what's his nuts. And you're talking
- 47:33Speaker 1: about a team that's just that just came off of
- 47:36Speaker 1: going to the NFC title game and then acquiring Micah.
- 47:39Speaker 1: I thought, oh man, that would be that would be
- 47:41Speaker 1: an ideal situation. I would think if you're Micah. But
- 47:44Speaker 1: instead they shipped him off to Green Bay.
- 47:47Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't think there was any chance Jerry was
- 47:49Speaker 3: going to trade him in conference in divisions.
- 47:54Speaker 1: Yeah no, although it's Jerry, you never know. Yeah, I
- 47:58Speaker 1: mean maybe if he called, like if he quick hypothetical.
- 48:01Speaker 1: I usually hate these in sports stock but whatever, I'll
- 48:04Speaker 1: do this one. If Okay, so we get the Cowboys
- 48:10Speaker 1: get two first rounders and a Pro Bowl defensive tackle
- 48:14Speaker 1: for micro Parsons. That's what they get from Green Bay.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Would you have been okay with sending Micah to Washington
- 48:21Speaker 1: if you got three first round picks.
- 48:25Speaker 3: Yes, I would have been fine sending them anywhere. The
- 48:30Speaker 3: Cowboys are gonna suck regardless.
- 48:32Speaker 1: So it just doesn't matter where for how much.
- 48:35Speaker 3: No, Yeah, I'll take the more of the picks, but
- 48:38Speaker 3: as long as that, as long as they have that
- 48:39Speaker 3: d contract. I mean, here's how I messed up the
- 48:42Speaker 3: that contract is most quarterback contracts, you're the highest paid
- 48:46Speaker 3: quarterback for less than a year because there's always some more.
- 48:49Speaker 3: They'll do a dollar more DAK. A year later, it's
- 48:51Speaker 3: still the highest paid quarterback.
- 48:53Speaker 2: Yeah. And and thank you to Jerry Jones for inventing
- 48:58Speaker 2: the salary cap.
- 49:00Speaker 3: An idiot, the architect of his destruction.
- 49:03Speaker 1: That's right, just because you can make it doesn't mean
- 49:05Speaker 1: you can operate it.
- 49:07Speaker 2: Yeah, he's he's neuro with the nets.
- 49:09Speaker 3: And I will always contend the start where Jerry starts off,
- 49:14Speaker 3: and it absolutely he you're basically you're one or year
- 49:17Speaker 3: two of the salary cap completely screws the team and
- 49:19Speaker 3: everything else. When he signed Don Sanders. Yeah, because you
- 49:22Speaker 3: could have signed a lot of core players instead of
- 49:25Speaker 3: that contract.
- 49:26Speaker 1: And Roger, you said, Jerry's, Jerry's what Jerry's He's near
- 49:30Speaker 1: Nero with his fiddle.
- 49:32Speaker 2: You know, he's just watching Rome Burn.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Eventually he looks around and goes, ah, Welcome to the
- 49:46Speaker 1: world of cowboys fans, Jerry for all things Treehouse, go
- 49:53Speaker 1: to Treehouse on air dot com.
- 49:55Speaker 3: Yes, I did think of one, or actually two movies
- 49:58Speaker 3: that really got should have been on that list. The
- 50:00Speaker 3: top ten. Dumb and Dumber.
- 50:05Speaker 2: Oh okay.
- 50:08Speaker 1: Interestingly, a scene that would compete with how hard I
- 50:11Speaker 1: laughed at the diarrhea scene in Bride'smaids would certainly be
- 50:15Speaker 1: Jeff Daniels diarrhea scene in Dumb and Dumber and.
- 50:18Speaker 3: Dan I'm surprised you didn't catch this one. Either Vacation
- 50:23Speaker 3: or Christmas Vacation.
- 50:25Speaker 1: Oh no, I'm with you. They might be in my
- 50:28Speaker 1: top ten, and Christmas Vacation is in my top ten,
- 50:31Speaker 1: but I don't expect everyone else to agree with that one.
- 50:33Speaker 2: Then you have to go with Fletch. I do love Fletch.
- 50:37Speaker 1: I even like Fletch Lives.
- 50:39Speaker 6: No, you need to end this show now, I mean,
- 50:49Speaker 6: come on, it had Randall text Cobb and jail, wearing makeup,
- 50:52Speaker 6: saying he was in jail for molesting a dead horse.
- 51:01Speaker 1: Chevy Chase dressed up as a televangelist. All right, whatever,
