- 0:01Exodus chapter 12 Let us pray our Lord, our King, our boss and
- 0:12our everything. You are the only uncreated.
- 0:19You're the only one worthy of all adoration and praise.
- 0:25Lord, we laid down every lesser lover.
- 0:28We completely demolish and destroy everything that's trying
- 0:36to vie for our attention. God, we set our eyes upon You,
- 0:43the Maker of heaven and earth, where our help comes from.
- 0:48God, you're inescapable. God, you are the very breath
- 0:56inside of our lungs. You give the heartbeat inside of
- 1:04our chest. You give us the ability to
- 1:07reason and to think and to choose.
- 1:11So God, we choose you today over money.
- 1:19God, we choose you today over vanity.
- 1:25God, we choose you today over reputation.
- 1:32God, we choose you today over pride and offense, hurt
- 1:37feelings. God, we choose you today over
- 1:40our own life. We choose you today over our
- 1:43loved ones. God, we choose you today over
- 1:46the American dream. God, we choose you today over
- 1:51safety. God, we choose you today over
- 1:55our own intellect. We choose you today, God, over
- 1:58our abilities. God would choose you today over
- 2:02creation. It is you and it is you, and it
- 2:10is you alone who deserve all adoration and all of our
- 2:15affection. Father, we only want you, We
- 2:19only desire you. We only want to see you.
- 2:23God, help us to stay in this place.
- 2:25Help us to not leave the Shekinah glory.
- 2:28God of the throne room. Father, I pray that we can
- 2:32remain in the holiest of holy places and everywhere that we
- 2:36go, God will be holy ground. Everywhere that our footsteps,
- 2:40God is holy ground. Help us to take your word to the
- 2:44whole world. Help us not to sit on the
- 2:46sidelines and grow complacent, Lord, and develop this critical
- 2:52spirit God that criticizes everything and breaks everybody
- 2:56down because it is our own defect, God, it is our own
- 3:01demise. It is our own idiosyncrasies,
- 3:05Gods, it's our own fault that we did not grow in you and obey
- 3:09you, Father. So Lord, give us the strength to
- 3:12step out in faith. Give us the strength, God, to
- 3:14take the next step of obedience. God, I pray that you'll
- 3:18highlight in our lives, Holy Spirit, speak to us mightily and
- 3:22boldly. God, give us our marching
- 3:24orders. Help us to have the strength to
- 3:26step out, Father, and to actually obey and to do the
- 3:30things that you've called us to and to speak the truth and love
- 3:33God, and to preach the word in season and out of season and to
- 3:37do the work of an evangelist. God, I pray, Lord, that we'll be
- 3:41plan A will be the answer, God, to this wicked and dark and
- 3:46perverse and dying world all around us.
- 3:49God that's steeped in idolatry, Father, I pray God to break off
- 3:54the spirit of perversion from off of this world.
- 3:57Break off the spirit of vanity, God, break off all the demonic
- 4:04entities, God that are railing and trying to come against us.
- 4:07We put on the full armor of God today, Lord.
- 4:14We step in to the shoes, the gospel of peace.
- 4:18We run the race today, Father, Lord, we put on that breastplate
- 4:24of righteousness, God, our sinfulness in exchange for your
- 4:30righteousness. God, we are in right standing
- 4:33with you because of Christ. Lord, help us to put on the belt
- 4:37of truth, to stand on the truth, for He is the truth.
- 4:40God, everything is hinged upon the truth.
- 4:43And so, God, we do not attach ourselves to the Father of lies,
- 4:48God, we tell the truth, we stand on truth.
- 4:51He is the truth, Jesus Christ. Lord, we put on the helmet of
- 4:57our salvation. We remember our testimony, God.
- 5:00We remember how far you've taken us from the pit of despair, God,
- 5:04to the heights of your glory, Lord.
- 5:08We pick up this shield of faith, God, we step out into the void
- 5:15knowing that you'll catch us, Lord, we believe every word,
- 5:19regardless of our own common sense, regardless of what the
- 5:24world is screaming at us, God, we believe your word as it's
- 5:28true, and it is the supreme authority over our lives, God.
- 5:33We take up the sword today, the word today, God, and we do war
- 5:40with it. We rightly divide the word of
- 5:43God, knowing Lord, that all your promises are yes and Amen.
- 5:47And it is and, and, or, and it is exactly what it says.
- 5:51And when it says this over here, God, we believe it.
- 5:54And when it says this over here, God, we believe it.
- 5:57And Lord, we just help that you'll blend the two and help us
- 6:01to have sound doctrine and sound theology in the mighty name of
- 6:05Jesus. We love you, King Jesus.
- 6:08It's in your precious and powerful name that I pray.
- 6:12Amen. Let's start in verse one.
- 6:20And the Lord spoke unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt
- 6:24saying, so you're going to need to know that there's a lot of
- 6:28different events happening here in this long chapter of 12 in
- 6:34the book of Exodus. God is taking us back to a time.
- 6:39And the reason that Chapter 11 flowed right from chapter 10 is
- 6:44because God wanted everything to be congruent when he was
- 6:48breathing this all. But you need to know that as
- 6:50we're reading 12, he's going to be talking about setting a new
- 6:54time for Israel to follow. Everything changes.
- 6:58This is the cross for them. This is their huge masterpiece
- 7:03that God was painting. And just like for us, we see it
- 7:07in marriage and for the 1st century it was in the cross and
- 7:11then for here the Israelites, it was in the leading out of Egypt.
- 7:15And so God is showing us mighty things throughout his Scripture.
- 7:21And here you need to know in verse 12, we're going to flow
- 7:24through a different a few different time frames.
- 7:27Let's keep moving verse 2. This month shall be unto you the
- 7:32beginning of months. It shall be the first month of
- 7:35the year to you. So everything changes.
- 7:37This is like AD. This is like when everything
- 7:43went from BC to AD. This was for them the beginning
- 7:47of their entire year was marked from their exodus out of Egypt.
- 7:52Verse 3. Speak you unto the congregation
- 7:54of Israel, saying, in the 10th day of this month, shall you
- 7:58take to them every man a lamb according to the House of their
- 8:02fathers, a lamb for a house. So here what God wanted them to
- 8:06do was mark off from the first day to the 10th and then on the
- 8:1010th day to go and find, find a lamb or a goat without blemish,
- 8:15and to bring it in and to actually allow it to become part
- 8:21of the family for and for the household.
- 8:25Be too little for the lamb. Let him and his neighbor next to
- 8:28his house take it according to the number of the souls.
- 8:32Every man according to his eating, shall make you account
- 8:35for the lamb. So it could be no less than 10,
- 8:42but no more than 20, and we'll find that out as time goes on.
- 8:46Five, your lamb shall be without blemish a male for the first
- 8:50year. You shall take it from the sheep
- 8:52or from the goat. So Jesus Christ, he is the Lamb
- 8:57of God, but he's also the scapegoat that takes away all of
- 9:02our sins. And he was crucified outside of
- 9:06the camp, friends. And you can see that he fulfills
- 9:10both the lamb or the goat, and there's a lot of goats that are
- 9:15intermingled in with the lambs and God's businesses to separate
- 9:19the sheep from the goats. 6 And you shall keep it up until the
- 9:2414th day of the same month, and the whole assembly of the
- 9:28congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
- 9:31So this little lamb was to become part of the family.
- 9:36For four days it lived with them, and then on the 14th day
- 9:41it was to be slain. 7 And they shall take of the blood and
- 9:47strike it on the two side posts, and on the upper door post of
- 9:51the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
- 9:54So here this was the covering of the blood on the doorpost, that
- 9:57would cause the destroying Angel to Passover. 8 And they shall
- 10:02eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, unleavened
- 10:07bread with bitter herbs, they shall eat it.
- 10:10So here the blood was sacrificed unto God, the people got to eat
- 10:15of the meat brands and they ate it with unleavened bread,
- 10:20because we know that the leaven, the yeast is like sin.
- 10:24And it was also a reset for all the bacterial growth, that if
- 10:31they would do this, they would not get sick.
- 10:33And God has a multifaceted dimension to his knowledge,
- 10:39friends. This is a manifold wisdom of God
- 10:43that comes upon them. And it always means so many
- 10:46different things. It's not just one application
- 10:49for the simple minded person. They want to argue about all the
- 10:52little things about God. But you need to know that God
- 10:56can do so many different things all at once.
- 10:59And it means so many different things, friends.
- 11:01And that is the knowledge of God.
- 11:04It's unparalleled. Anything that the human mind can
- 11:07even try to begin to imagine eight, they shall eat the flesh
- 11:17that night. So here you can see that they're
- 11:20roasting it with fire. It's not to be boiled, friends.
- 11:24It's not to be eaten raw. And these bitter herbs, this is
- 11:28like whenever they offered the gall unto Jesus, they were
- 11:31trying to offer the hyssop and the bitter herbs.
- 11:35And you can see that his following after Jesus is like
- 11:41honey in the mouth, but it goes down and it's bitter in the
- 11:45stomach because you can finally see the chasm between His
- 11:50Holiness and our sinfulness. And that is the bitterness of
- 11:54it, friends, is that God's ways are not our ways.
- 11:58They're so much higher than our thoughts and so much higher than
- 12:02our ways, and if we were God, we would do it a completely
- 12:05different way. But thank God we're not him,
- 12:08because his wisdom is so much greater than ours. 9 Eat not of
- 12:16it raw nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire his
- 12:21head and his legs, and with the pertinence of it.
- 12:24So everything was to be roasted, the organs, everything.
- 12:28They were not to break any of the bones, they were to roast
- 12:31the whole thing. Friends, tan.
- 12:37And you shall let nothing of it remain until the morning, and
- 12:40that which remains of it until the morning, you shall burn with
- 12:43fire. So that they could not eat the
- 12:45entire thing, they were to take all of the inedible parts and
- 12:50completely burn it with fire, not to try to keep any of it
- 12:54over. Franz.
- 12:55And this is all pointing towards Jesus Christ on the cross.
- 13:00Every bit of this is pointing towards Jesus Christ on the
- 13:04cross. And he was actually slain at the
- 13:06exact moment of the ceremonial observance of the Passover.
- 13:14And that is the wisdom of God. And God knows what he's doing.
- 13:18And he points us towards Jesus. Everything in the Bible, from
- 13:22Genesis to Revelation, everything in the Bible points
- 13:26to Jesus Christ. Every single syllable, every jot
- 13:31and every title, it's all Jesus Christ.
- 13:35We eat it, friends. We munch it, friends.
- 13:38It's a scroll that's rolled up, that is sweet as honey in our
- 13:42mouth, but bitter in our stomach. 11 And thus shall you
- 13:49eat it with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, your
- 13:53staff in your hand. You shall eat it in haste.
- 13:56It is the Lord's Passover. So they were to take their robe
- 14:00and to tuck it into their belt so that they'd be ready to go,
- 14:03Friends, because God was about to do an amazing thing in the
- 14:07land and all the first born of the Egyptians were going to be
- 14:11slain. And there was not one house told
- 14:13that was safe that did not have the blood covering it.
- 14:17Friends, if you had the blood on the House, you were safe.
- 14:20But that is the same for us to day.
- 14:22We must be covered in the blood of Jesus Christ if we want Him
- 14:26to pass over us in the day of judgment.
- 14:29Get in the boat, friends. 12 For I will pass through the land of
- 14:34Egypt this night, and will strike all the first born in the
- 14:37land of Egypt, both man and beast, and against all the gods
- 14:42of Egypt. I will execute judgment.
- 14:44I am the Lord. That's the whole point of the
- 14:46whole matter, of the whole crux of the whole situation is that
- 14:50God was upending all of their idol worship.
- 14:53He was proving to Pharaoh that all of his worship of the
- 14:58pantheon of lowercase G gods was nothing but idol worship and
- 15:03garbage. And there was only one true
- 15:05living God who is able to do all these miracles.
- 15:10Every other God is an idol that cannot see, that cannot hear.
- 15:15There's only one true living God.
- 15:17It is Yahweh everlasting. 13 And the blood shall be to you for a
- 15:24token upon the houses where you are.
- 15:27And when I see the blood, I will Passover you, and the plague
- 15:31shall not be upon you to destroy you when I strike the land of
- 15:36Egypt. So that is the precursor, and it
- 15:38points towards the cross of Christ, and it points towards
- 15:42today that we must be covered in the blood for the destroying
- 15:46Angel to Passover us in the day of judgment. 14 And this day
- 15:52shall be unto you for a memorial, and you shall keep it
- 15:55a feast to the Lord throughout your generations.
- 15:59You shall keep it a feast by an ordinance forever.
- 16:03So here we're getting to see that God had a great plan and
- 16:07all of this. This is not haphazard planning
- 16:11on God's part. God had it in his mind before
- 16:14the foundations of the world, before Adam even sinned.
- 16:18God had it in his mind of how how he would redeem sinful
- 16:22mankind. Friends, nothing is missed upon
- 16:25God. He sees the beginning from the
- 16:28end. He already knows who's going to
- 16:29be there in the end. And that is why he sends these
- 16:33angels to protect those that will inherit eternal life.
- 16:37And that is why so many are grasping at straws trying to
- 16:41figure out how to win favor of God, but they cannot.
- 16:44Friends, God knows who's going to be offended and fall away,
- 16:48and God knows who's going to put down the syringe and fall to
- 16:52their knees and give him all due honor and glory and praise.
- 16:57Friends. And it is not for us to try to
- 16:59figure out who are His and who are not.
- 17:03We give the gospel to every man, woman and child, regardless of
- 17:08nationality, regardless of creed, regardless of language or
- 17:12tongue, regardless of any of our presuppositions, regardless of
- 17:20any of our thoughts. It's all about God.
- 17:25It's not about us. 15-7 days Shall you eat unleavened bread?
- 17:36Even the first day shall you put away leaven out of your houses?
- 17:40For whosoever eats leavened bread from the first day until
- 17:43the 7th day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
- 17:48So we saw that on the 10th day they were to go and get the lamb
- 17:52that was spotless for four days. It was to be with them on the
- 17:5614th day. They were to slay it and to put
- 17:59his blood on the doorpost, and to eat the whole thing.
- 18:03And then for seven more days they were only to eat unleavened
- 18:08bread. This would be like crackers.
- 18:11Friends. 16 And then the first day there shall be a holy
- 18:20convocation, and in the 7th day there shall be a holy
- 18:24convocation to you. No manner of work shall be done
- 18:28in them, except that which every man must eat, that only may be
- 18:32done of you. So he's saying the only thing
- 18:34that you are allowed to do is to prepare the meal. 17 And you
- 18:39shall observe the feast of unleavened bread.
- 18:42For in this self same day I have brought your armies out of the
- 18:45land of Egypt. Therefore shall you observe this
- 18:49day and your generations by an ordinance forever.
- 18:52So this was to be passed on to their children and their
- 18:55children's children and their children's children's children.
- 18:58Friends, that is the whole idea of the whole matter here, that
- 19:02God wants us to be a generational blessing and a
- 19:05story that is is going to be passed down for all times sake,
- 19:09and we're going to be talking about it in all of eternity
- 19:12forever, friends. And it all pointed to Jesus
- 19:16Christ. 18 In the first month, on the 14th day of the month, at
- 19:22evening, you shall eat unleavened bread until the 21st
- 19:26day of the month at evening. 19 seven days shall there be no
- 19:31leaven found in your houses. For whosoever eats that which is
- 19:35leaven, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of
- 19:39Israel, whether he be a stranger or born in the land.
- 19:43So you did not need to necessarily be a Jew in order to
- 19:47participate in this Passover and for you to be passed over.
- 19:54And it's still the same today, friends.
- 19:57That is where so many people are so limited in their intellect,
- 20:02is that when you say that God's people, His chosen people, his
- 20:07first born, are the Jews, they are incensed against you.
- 20:12Because they want this replacement theology where the
- 20:16church somehow absorbs all the promises of the Jews.
- 20:19But it's not that way, friends. You can see that the promises of
- 20:23the Jews are for all. It is not just for the Jews, but
- 20:30it does not put the Jews out of place.
- 20:33It does not mean that God has turned his back upon the Jews.
- 20:38And this is hard for so many people who have a limited
- 20:41intellect and they just want to see things the way that they
- 20:45want to see them, and they want to side with the world.
- 20:48And they don't want to be found trying to stand with the Jews
- 20:51because it means sudden persecution upon them.
- 20:55And so they're trying, trying their best to figure out a way
- 20:58to be saved, but not to have to stand with God's holy people.
- 21:02And it never works that way, friends.
- 21:04We will be blessed if we will stand with them, friends,
- 21:07regardless of the persecution that comes our way. 20 You shall
- 21:17eat nothing leavened in all your habitation.
- 21:19Shall you eat unleavened bread? So we know that the leaven is
- 21:23the yeast and the yeast is the sin.
- 21:25And God knows that He had to protect them, friends, from the
- 21:31sinfulness of the world, and He had to protect them from all the
- 21:35bacterial growth in the through. He had to protect them from the
- 21:39leaven of the Pharisees that get in, and a little bit works in
- 21:43the lump, and the entire lump is spoiled. 21 Then Moses called
- 21:49for all the elders of Israel, and said to them, Draw out and
- 21:54take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the
- 21:57Passover. 22 And you shall take a bunch of hissop and dip it in
- 22:03the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lentil in the two
- 22:07side posts with the blood that is in the basin.
- 22:10And none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the
- 22:14morning. So Moses has bossed up on him
- 22:17and he's told him exactly what to do.
- 22:19And the people have to make a decision if they're going to
- 22:22listen to Moses, they're going to believe him, if they're
- 22:25actually going to do the things that Moses is telling them, God
- 22:28told him to tell them to do. And we see this hyssop, friends,
- 22:34and we know that the hyssop is in connection with the
- 22:37purification, friends. 23 of the Lord will pass through to strike
- 22:44the Egyptians when He sees the blood upon the lentil and upon
- 22:47the two side posts. The Lord will pass over the
- 22:50door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your
- 22:55houses to strike you. And it's the same for us,
- 22:58friends. This symbolic cross that was
- 23:01painted on the doorpost is the cross of Christ.
- 23:05And if we will get up underneath the blood of Jesus Christ, we
- 23:10will be passed over as well in the day of destruction. 24 And
- 23:18you shall observe this thing for an ordinance to you and to your
- 23:21sons forever, forever and ever, and ever, and ever and ever and
- 23:27ever. Friends, we will be celebrating
- 23:30the Lamb in the Passover. 25 And it shall come to pass when you
- 23:35be come to the land, which the Lord will give you, according as
- 23:39he has promised, that you shall keep this service. 26 And it
- 23:43shall come to pass, when your children shall say to you, What
- 23:50do you mean by the service? 27 That you shall say it is the
- 23:55sacrifice of the Lords Passover, who passed over the houses of
- 23:59the children of Israel in Egypt, when he struck the Egyptians and
- 24:03delivered our houses, and the people bowed the head and
- 24:06worshipped. That is our appropriate response
- 24:11when God's judgment comes upon a land, when God saves his people,
- 24:16as we bow our heads in reverence and we worship him and we thank
- 24:21him, and we say Hallelujah Hosanna in the highest, that our
- 24:27God is greater than any of the calamities in this world, and
- 24:32that He knows how to put his people in the right place at the
- 24:35right time. Friends 28 And the children of
- 24:39Israel went away and did as the Lord had commanded Moses and
- 24:43Aaron, and so did they. This is the greatest miracle in
- 24:47the entire chapter, Friends, is that the people actually obeyed
- 24:51the words of Moses that came from the Word of God. 29 And it
- 24:56came to pass that at midnight the Lord struck all the first
- 25:00born in the land of Egypt, from the first born of Pharaoh that
- 25:03sat on the throne, into the first born of the captive that
- 25:06was in the dungeon, and the first born of the cattle.
- 25:09So God made good on his word, and he told him exactly what was
- 25:12going to happen, and that's exactly what happened. 30 And
- 25:16Pharaoh rose up in the night, he and those servants and the
- 25:19Egyptians, and there was a great cry in Egypt.
- 25:24So there was not a house where there was not one dead.
- 25:27Think about it, friends, what a scene as you see the first born
- 25:36of every Egyptian house, from the cattle all the way up to the
- 25:40king dead. This would have been one of the
- 25:53most sad times for the Egyptians, who thought of
- 26:02themselves as descended from gods, thought of themselves
- 26:07untouchable, thought of themselves as a super race.
- 26:12And here they're brought low and they have to wrestle with the
- 26:16fact that God is more powerful than that.
- 26:21God actually makes good on what He says He's going to do, and
- 26:25it's no different for us, friends.
- 26:27When we read the Bible and God tells us how it's going to go,
- 26:31we apply it and we believe it, no matter if it makes sense or
- 26:36not, no matter if it defies logic and defies physics.
- 26:41We believe every word, every syllable, friends, and we apply
- 26:46it to our lives as if it is actual and factual and already
- 26:51done. 31 Any call from Moses and Aaron by night said, Rise up,
- 27:01get you forth from among my people, both you and your
- 27:04children of Israel, and go and serve the Lord as you have said.
- 27:10So here Pharaoh has finally had enough.
- 27:13He realizes that he's been beat 32 also.
- 27:20Take your flocks, your herds, as you have said, and be gone, and
- 27:25bless me also. So we remember a time when Jacob
- 27:30came down into Egypt and he blessed the Pharaoh, and the
- 27:34Pharaoh accepted it. Now look how these bookends as
- 27:40Israel is leaving, the Pharaoh is asking for a blessing from
- 27:43Yahweh. 33 And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people,
- 27:50that they might send them out of the land in haste, for they said
- 27:54we'd be all dead men. So they realized there was no
- 27:59getting out of this one. It was over. 4 They were cooked.
- 28:0534 And the people took their dough before it was leavened,
- 28:10and they're kneading troughs, being bound upon their
- 28:13shoulders, upon in their clothes, upon their shoulders.
- 28:1635 And the children of Israel did according to the word of
- 28:20Moses, and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver,
- 28:24jewels of gold, and clothing. 36 And the Lord gave the people
- 28:28favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent
- 28:32unto them such things as they required, and they spoiled the
- 28:36Egyptians. These are the very articles that
- 28:39were used in the temple. These were the very articles
- 28:45used in the construction of God's holy habitation.
- 28:55Look at how God is already preparing them for his place of
- 29:01worship. 37 And the children of Israel journeyed from Ramses to
- 29:07Sukkah about 600,000 on foot that were men besides children.
- 29:13So you can see that they were going to this place of setting
- 29:16up tents and you can see that just the men numbered the
- 29:21600,000, which puts the number somewhere around 2 million
- 29:27complete bodies there, 38. And a mixed multitude went up
- 29:33also with them and flocks and herds, even very much cattle.
- 29:37So it wasn't just the Jews, but also the Gentiles were allowed
- 29:42to follow, but they must be circumcised. 39 And they baked
- 29:49unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of
- 29:52Egypt. For it was not leaven, because
- 29:54they were thrust out of Egypt and could not tarry.
- 29:57Neither had they prepared for themselves any victual.
- 30:00So they had not prepared for themselves a survival pack, and
- 30:06here they were forced to just eat nothing but this unleavened
- 30:10bread. 40 Now pilgrimage of the children of Israel who dwelt in
- 30:17Egypt was 430 years. 41 And it came to pass at the end of the
- 30:22430 years, even the exact day it came to pass, that all the hosts
- 30:29of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt.
- 30:31So God had a, an exact date in mind that he was going to lead
- 30:37them out. And He is the one orchestrating
- 30:40it all. And he speaks to us on specific
- 30:44days. And He uses the moon, He uses
- 30:48the stars, He uses all of the numbers.
- 30:51God is a God who is multifaceted in the way that he speaks to us.
- 30:58And he can speak to us in so many different ways.
- 31:01But you can see here on the anniversary of the exact day of
- 31:07them coming into Egypt, on that exact day they left, what an
- 31:11amazing God we serve. 42 It is a knight to be much observed unto
- 31:23the Lord for bringing them out in the land of Egypt.
- 31:27This is that knight of the Lord to be observed of all the
- 31:31generations of Israel in their generations.
- 31:36And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, This is an ordinance of
- 31:40the Passover. There shall be no stranger
- 31:43thereof. The eats. 44 every manservant
- 31:48that is bought for money, when you have circumcised him, then
- 31:53shall he eat of it. So in order to take part in the
- 31:59Passover, they had to be circumcised, even if they were
- 32:03not a Jew. Our circumcision is of the
- 32:07heart, friends. It is not a physical
- 32:10circumcision. It is the cutting of the
- 32:13foreskin off of your heart and heart, and God giving you a new
- 32:17heart, friends, and that is the circumcision for us in the New
- 32:23Testament. 45-A foreigner and a hired servant shall not eat of
- 32:29it. 46 In the one house shall it be eaten, and you shall not
- 32:33carry forth all of the flesh abroad out of the house, neither
- 32:38shall you break a bone of it. So he's telling them, do not
- 32:42take the lamb out of the house, and do not break a single bone.
- 32:46And this is all pointing towards Jesus Christ. 47 All the
- 32:50congregation of Israel shall keep it. 48 And when a stranger
- 32:54shall sojourn with you, and will keep the Passover to the Lord,
- 33:00let all his males be circumcised, and then let him
- 33:03come near and keep it. And he shall be as one that is
- 33:07born in the land of for no uncircumcised person shall eat
- 33:11of it. Your heart must be circumcised
- 33:15in order for you to take part in the Passover of the Lord Jesus
- 33:19Christ. And when you come to him
- 33:21earnestly and honestly, and when you give up all of your own
- 33:25rights and you give him full control, he will circumcise your
- 33:29heart, and he will cover you in his blood, and you will be
- 33:32passed over. 49 One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and
- 33:39unto the stranger that sojourns among you. 50 This did the
- 33:44children, all the children of Israel.
- 33:46As the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
- 33:50We'll end on 51 And it came to pass the self same day that the
- 33:54Lord did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt
- 33:57by their armies. This was the most miraculous
- 34:02thing that Israel had ever been a part of.
- 34:08And this will stand as their crucifixion for us as we look
- 34:17back to it. They would have looked back to
- 34:19this. They would have looked back to
- 34:22them leading, being set free out of bondage and being LED out of
- 34:26Egypt. And God had a big plan to send
- 34:30them down there so they'd multiply and become a great
- 34:33nation. And God has a great plan for us
- 34:36with the cross of Christ. And now everything is pointing
- 34:42towards marriage. Friends, you need to understand
- 34:47that a husband and a wife today is the great masterpiece that
- 34:52God is painting just as much as He painted it with the Passover.
- 34:58You need to know that a husband and a wife is is the church and
- 35:03the groom, the bride and the groom friends, the church and
- 35:08Jesus. You need to know that there's
- 35:11coming a day where we're going to be part of this marriage
- 35:14where the groom comes back to get his bride.
- 35:16And that is why marriage is under attack today.
- 35:20It's the masterpiece that God is painting and we'll finally get
- 35:25to see it all come to fruition eventually.
- 35:29I hope you've been blessed by this amazing chapter in God's
- 35:32Word. I know I sure have.
- 35:35I'm praying for every single one of you.
- 35:37I love you. See you back here tomorrow.
- 35:40God bless you.
