- 0:12I said the other day I was talking to Tampa, the Ricard,
- 0:15hopefully you've watched that video, but we were talking about
- 0:19some of the absurd, possibly corrupt activity going on in
- 0:24Victoria and then she brought up about the industries that were
- 0:28affected. Because of the backflip by the
- 0:31Andrews government regarding the Commonwealth Games and one of
- 0:35the topics she brought up one of the industries rather was the
- 0:39caravan industry. So let's just check out this
- 0:41video and it maybe explains what's going on there and how
- 0:46the Andrews government has completely ripped the caravan
- 0:51industry. So it would seem criminal.
- 0:55Absolutely criminal. Anyways, check it out together.
- 0:58Caravan industry is shedding new light on Victoria's doomed
- 1:02Commonwealth Games. They agreed to build 10,000
- 1:05caravans to fix an accommodation shortage, but say they couldn't
- 1:09believe it when the Andrews government asked them to foot
- 1:12the bill. As the government celebrated a
- 1:16win for big build projects in the city, they were forced to
- 1:19dodge new questions on the Commonwealth Games debacle, this
- 1:22time from the Victorian caravan industry.
- 1:25But we can't even get a meeting with them to actually talk to
- 1:27them about it. There, there were.
- 1:29There were no decisions. The regions had been scrambling
- 1:32to work out where to house staff and volunteers during the games.
- 1:36The caravan industry had a solution.
- 1:38We talked about manufacturing 10,000 caravans.
- 1:41I said how many can you make? And we said 10,000.
- 1:43And they said, oh, that will solve our problem.
- 1:45The cost was around $100 million, but the kicker came
- 1:49weeks into their discussions. And then about a week before the
- 1:52Victorian Government pulled the Commonwealth Games, they
- 1:55actually said to us, oh, we thought you were gonna pay for
- 1:57it. I almost fell over.
- 1:59Well, if you didn't. Just briefly, who, who would
- 2:04ever go to some industry and say, well, we thought you were
- 2:07going to pay for it in in what? Who even thinks like that?
- 2:13In what reality would that ever occur that the industry that
- 2:18sells a product, that builds a product and sells a product in
- 2:21order to create, you know, employ people, create profits?
- 2:26That they would then just foot the bill.
- 2:31Thing it got mad enough The fact that the Andrews government
- 2:34would literally expect 10,000 freebie caravans to put people
- 2:38into housing. I mean, that's just a complete
- 2:40joke. The Andrews government has a
- 2:42different version of events, saying they hadn't officially
- 2:45asked the industry to pay for anything and they were still
- 2:48exploring a number of other housing options.
- 2:51There was a range of conversations and discussions
- 2:53that were going on. There were no final decisions as
- 2:57a consequence of those discussions.
- 2:59Why wouldn't these things be thought out?
- 3:03She just dogs and riddles. There was nothing, you know,
- 3:05nothing concrete, just further discussions.
- 3:08It reminds me of being started to watch that that Australian
- 3:11series Utopia, you know, the national building authority.
- 3:15And it reminds me. She reminds me very much of
- 3:18someone from that program where they just talk and riddles.
- 3:21Nothing really makes sense. We just wave our arms around, we
- 3:24make a big announcement. We'll put the hard hat on.
- 3:27Yeah, while they build a fence. Particularly when the local
- 3:31councils are ringing you saying we don't have enough
- 3:33accommodation but yet it's been put in our regions, it just
- 3:35doesn't make any sense. Christy Cooper 7 News.
- 3:39So there you go. That's apparently what has
- 3:41occurred. Some of the things that have
- 3:43been coming out regarding the Andrews government and their
- 3:46decision to scrap the Commonwealth Games and we'll
- 3:50just leave the bill. Absolutely ludicrous and
- 3:55continue to blame everyone else anyway.
- 4:00Some more, some other crazy things happening, but that's
- 4:03just one thing. This is a bit of a what the flip
- 4:07if this is actually true. It's a bit of what the flip.
- 4:10What the flip is going on in Victoria.
- 4:12Absolute corruption assault would seem.
- 4:15That's just my opinion. Thanks for listening to the
- 4:17slippery slope. Please let me know what you
- 4:20think. If you've got any more
- 4:22information to shared, just post it.
- 4:24We'll check it out. Thanks, eh?
- 4:28They just feel
