- 0:00Speaker 1: What up, y'all? It's your boy Kev on stage.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Tony Baker. Welcome to the Bald.
- 0:03Speaker 3: Brothers, a podcast where me and Tony cover whatever the
- 0:06Speaker 3: hell we want to. And right now we're talking Lanterns
- 0:09Speaker 3: Episode 7 and The Drop Episode 3. Let's jump right in, Tone.
- 0:16Speaker 3: How you feeling about Episode 7 of them Lanterns?
- 0:19Speaker 4: It was weird.
- 0:20Speaker 1: What you mean weird?
- 0:21Speaker 4: It was just a weird episode.
- 0:23Speaker 2: It started off cool. Then when they went to the
- 0:26Speaker 2: other world dimension planet thing.
- 0:30Speaker 4: In the time space, it would look like the Salton Sea.
- 0:34Speaker 2: And it was just desert and skeletons in the ground.
- 0:36Speaker 1: The Salton Sea?
- 0:37Speaker 2: The Salton Sea. I've been to the Salton Sea before.
- 0:41Speaker 2: And I was out there during the fish die off. Wait,
- 0:43Speaker 2: what's the Salton Sea?
- 0:44Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 0:44Speaker 2: The Salton Sea is in California. It's kind of by Barstool. Oh,
- 0:47Speaker 2: I thought you were just being funny. No, no. It's
- 0:49Speaker 2: like a, they used to have like a little salt
- 0:53Speaker 2: lake there. And then it ended up drying up. So
- 0:56Speaker 2: they built all kind of communities around there. And then
- 0:59Speaker 2: once the stuff started drying up and stuff was getting polluted,
- 1:03Speaker 2: it's like a little ghost town now in a sense.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:06Speaker 2: And so we were driving back from Vegas one time
- 1:09Speaker 2: and we.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Was just like, yo, pull over, man. We just pulled
- 1:11Speaker 4: over because it looked weird around there.
- 1:13Speaker 2: And then when we got out, it was millions of
- 1:15Speaker 2: dead fish out there. Where is this? Bakersfield?
- 1:20Speaker 4: No, no, it's not that way.
- 1:21Speaker 2: It's like if you were going to Vegas, like Barstow.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Kind of in that area.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I've never heard of this in my life.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Yeah, the Salton Sea.
- 1:29Speaker 2: So that scene reminded me of it. And then when
- 1:31Speaker 2: I watched the little behind the scenes after the episode,
- 1:34Speaker 2: it was like the Salton Sea.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I was like, Oh, so it was that place.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Yeah, it was like, I don't know if they actually
- 1:39Speaker 2: shot there or if that was the inspiration for it.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Gotcha. They mentioned it on the scene. Skeleton heads and stuff.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Because it was crazy. We was just like, yo,
- 1:48Speaker 2: why are all these fish dead? And it smelled.
- 1:50Speaker 4: It was crazy.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Was it like Heathcliff fish?
- 1:53Speaker 2: Damn near. But some were more recently dead. So they
- 1:57Speaker 2: still had flesh on them, too.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Are you walking on the ground?
- 2:00Speaker 4: Yeah, we was tiptoeing. I was like, yo, this is crazy.
- 2:03Speaker 4: I ain't never seen nothing like this.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Y'all pray? Huh?
- 2:06Speaker 1: Did y'all pray?
- 2:08Speaker 2: No, I didn't think it was the end of the world,
- 2:09Speaker 2: but I was just like, why is there so many
- 2:12Speaker 2: dead fish out here?
- 2:13Speaker 1: That would have freaked me out a little bit.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it was crazy.
- 2:16Speaker 4: But that scene reminded me of that in Lanterns.
- 2:18Speaker 1: So what was the upside down city?
- 2:20Speaker 2: What was going on?
- 2:21Speaker 1: Is that a comic book thing or that's just the show?
- 2:24Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Because I'm not really hip to the Lantern lore. I
- 2:29Speaker 2: used to occasionally read the comic books because my brother
- 2:31Speaker 2: had the The Green Lantern Corps.
- 2:34Speaker 4: And I used to think everybody was weird.
- 2:36Speaker 2: I thought everybody was weird looking because it was like
- 2:38Speaker 2: a squirrel had.
- 2:39Speaker 4: A ring, a one-eyed glob had a ring.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I don't know nothing about this.
- 2:45Speaker 2: What the hell is it? Because it's universal. Oh, that's right.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Each sector has a Green Lantern. So it's representative of
- 2:51Speaker 3: who lives there.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Yeah. So it's all kind of alien beings are Lantern Corps.
- 2:57Speaker 1: So somebody's Green Lantern lost there.
- 3:00Speaker 2: You said what?
- 3:01Speaker 1: Somebody's Green Lantern lost the fight there.
- 3:03Speaker 2: That's what I'm assuming.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Because that was the Manhunter vision.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Phrygian said this is Anton City. Yeah, that's what Jon
- 3:09Speaker 3: Stewart said.
- 3:10Speaker 5: Remember, because that's the vision that he got was that
- 3:12Speaker 5: city and what the Manhunter.
- 3:13Speaker 2: That's right, when they plugged him into the thing.
- 3:15Speaker 1: To the Matrix. And the Manhunter cooked everybody there.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Right.
- 3:18Speaker 1: But I thought it was the gas, though.
- 3:20Speaker 3: The fear gas where they start killing each other, right?
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yeah, but so the Manhunter didn't kill him then.
- 3:25Speaker 2: It wasn't the Manhunter. It was the gas. They just
- 3:27Speaker 2: set off fear, a fear gas. Yeah. And then, because
- 3:31Speaker 2: that's what I was like, because everything was getting weird.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Because I know they were trying to use the fear
- 3:36Speaker 2: against him. Yeah.
- 3:37Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying?
- 3:38Speaker 1: Parallax. He also, who was, do we know who the
- 3:41Speaker 1: old boy was in the cloak? Sinestro?
- 3:43Speaker 4: That's Sinestro.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Oh, I didn't see his face.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Yeah, that's Sinestro.
- 3:46Speaker 1: It was out of glare on my TV. I was
- 3:47Speaker 1: watching it during the day, man.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Because Sinestro, he kind of looks.
- 3:51Speaker 1: It's hard, man. Really, that's why I'm laughing.
- 3:53Speaker 2: His color is not that pronounced. It looks like he
- 3:55Speaker 2: just got a bad suntan.
- 3:56Speaker 1: But he's usually way more.
- 3:58Speaker 4: He's usually way more colorful than that in the face.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I just saw the cloak.
- 4:01Speaker 4: I didn't see who it was. Yeah, when he pieced him,
- 4:05Speaker 4: Sinestro was like, He was laying there in the cloak.
- 4:08Speaker 1: That was a very Looney Tunes way to get him.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 4:11Speaker 1: He was like, take the cloak off.
- 4:13Speaker 4: Ah, you got me.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Like, so that show, you ain't see that coming, man.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Right.
- 4:18Speaker 1: A regular sock out.
- 4:19Speaker 2: He was like. Regular sock out.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Ah.
- 4:21Speaker 4: Because he didn't know he had a surgery on the
- 4:23Speaker 4: hostage tip.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Like, does he not feel human?
- 4:27Speaker 2: He's like, yeah, what you going to do now? He's
- 4:29Speaker 2: just this.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Oh. So you don't see the boat coming in the
- 4:32Speaker 1: middle of the night?
- 4:32Speaker 2: Right.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Right.
- 4:34Speaker 4: I was just like, he should have known that was
- 4:35Speaker 4: a century.
- 4:36Speaker 1: That was a cool scene, though. Yeah. When they was
- 4:38Speaker 1: going through the boat, and then it was like all
- 4:40Speaker 1: them apples in there. J.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Alphonse Nicholson plays intensity so well.
- 4:46Speaker 1: He was good when he hopped in that boat.
- 4:47Speaker 2: I was scared a little bit.
- 4:48Speaker 3: When he hopped in that, I was like, ha ha,
- 4:51Speaker 3: I don't like this.
- 4:52Speaker 1: You scared, soldier? I was like, I'm scared at home,
- 4:56Speaker 1: and I'm in my undies watching this.
- 4:58Speaker 2: He got in there quick, man. Hey, tone it down, man.
- 5:00Speaker 2: He was into the boat.
- 5:02Speaker 3: But he had the poncho. But he didn't, but John
- 5:05Speaker 3: didn't put it on. He put it in the little suitcase.
- 5:08Speaker 3: I mean, the little space thing. But let's back up
- 5:11Speaker 3: to the- Back up, yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 2: We shot it here.
- 5:12Speaker 1: We jumped to the end.
- 5:13Speaker 4: We shot it here.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Let's back up to the thing.
- 5:15Speaker 3: A lot of people are like, yo, why John feel
- 5:18Speaker 3: like he got to pay the white girl?
- 5:19Speaker 2: Because he don't want, I feel like he doesn't want
- 5:24Speaker 2: the distraction of- Small town white justice. But 300 bands, Tone?
- 5:30Speaker 2: That's a lot.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Apparently they got it, though.
- 5:32Speaker 2: He got the Richard Mille on his wrist. He look breaded.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Also, if I give you the watch, you got to
- 5:37Speaker 1: come up off the 300 bands.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I'm not giving you the watch and then... No, I'm
- 5:41Speaker 1: not giving you 300 on the top and the watch.
- 5:42Speaker 4: And the watch. How much is that watch?
- 5:44Speaker 1: Them Richard Mille's be A.
- 5:47Speaker 2: What we looking at on low end for a watch
- 5:50Speaker 2: like that?
- 5:50Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised if it was north of 150. Okay.
- 5:53Speaker 1: That's what I thought.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Cause James, he didn't watch his go start at 80 grand.
- 5:58Speaker 3: They go from 80 grand to 3 million. So let's
- 5:59Speaker 3: just say that's the lowest end.
- 6:02Speaker 2: So 80 bands, 80 bands got to come above that
- 6:05Speaker 2: three 15.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:06Speaker 2: It should.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I'm deducted. I'm in my head. Like, yo, I gave
- 6:10Speaker 2: you that watch. You took it and skipped off. But
- 6:13Speaker 2: also I still.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Don't believe that blackmail. Like I'm not pressing like, Oh girl,
- 6:18Speaker 1: who's going to believe you?
- 6:20Speaker 2: Yeah, like the blackmail to me is inconsequential to everything
- 6:24Speaker 2: that's going on. Like every time she pops up, I'm
- 6:26Speaker 2: just like, it doesn't carry any gravity for me. No.
- 6:30Speaker 1: I agree. It's not moving the story for me. It's
- 6:33Speaker 1: not moving the.
- 6:35Speaker 5: I really feel pressed that the entire operation is going
- 6:38Speaker 5: to come crashing down when she tells the sheriff.
- 6:40Speaker 4: There's no stakes there for me.
- 6:42Speaker 3: No, I'd be like, girl... I'd be wanting him to
- 6:44Speaker 3: be like, girl, move. Stop coming by my car. I'm
- 6:48Speaker 3: not paying you nothing. She's going to go tell the sheriff.
- 6:50Speaker 1: The sheriff.
- 6:51Speaker 3: I'm telling you like I told you. The sheriff killed
- 6:53Speaker 3: Hal or the baby killed Hal.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Century Hal thinks she did. That's what I'm saying. I
- 6:59Speaker 1: think my working theory... Noah is a manhunter.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Just like that manhunter Zoe had to kill Abin Sur.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Abin Sur, yeah.
- 7:10Speaker 1: She just was like, I had to. So Abin Sur
- 7:12Speaker 1: was a manhunter?
- 7:13Speaker 2: No, he was a Green Lantern.
- 7:15Speaker 4: That's where Hal got the ring from.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Abin Sur. So I feel like either Noah killed... My
- 7:24Speaker 3: working theory is Noah killed Hal Jordan and the sheriff,
- 7:28Speaker 3: as his mom, is protecting him. Because otherwise... Noah be
- 7:33Speaker 3: in the show too much. for him not to be
- 7:36Speaker 3: nothing but a high school. Otherwise, who cares about his
- 7:38Speaker 3: high school thing? The linemen don't even have linemen numbers.
- 7:42Speaker 1: They look like me, you, and Josh.
- 7:43Speaker 3: They were like, give it up for the linemen. I'm like,
- 7:45Speaker 3: these look like receivers. The linemen was wearing number 21. Like,
- 7:48Speaker 3: where are the fat people at? You need a Billy Bob.
- 7:52Speaker 3: You need a hog. You need fat people.
- 7:55Speaker 1: You know they're corn fed out in Rushville. That's the
- 7:58Speaker 1: whole point. Nebraska corn huskers in two counties. Where the
- 8:03Speaker 1: fat whites at? I need Billy Bob. Remember Billy Bob
- 8:06Speaker 1: from Varsity Blues?
- 8:07Speaker 2: Yes.
- 8:08Speaker 1: You need at least one. It's not one fat lineman.
- 8:11Speaker 1: These are all walk-ons, man. None of them kids going
- 8:13Speaker 1: to Nebraska.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you that.
- 8:15Speaker 3: None of them kids going D1. Ain't no NIL money
- 8:18Speaker 3: in Rushville. But yeah, he had the little thing. I'm like,
- 8:21Speaker 3: they're having entirely too much time from the beginning.
- 8:25Speaker 1: They remember the camera when he was.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Like, throw the football.
- 8:27Speaker 1: No, I was like, who the hell is this kid?
- 8:29Speaker 1: Why do they keep showing this kid?
- 8:31Speaker 4: Because he's the manhunter.
- 8:33Speaker 3: He's the miracle. He's the manhunter. Zoe had a thing
- 8:36Speaker 3: on everybody. It's the only thing that makes sense. The sheriff,
- 8:40Speaker 3: I can't see her killing how they have in the
- 8:41Speaker 3: relationship unless it's to protect her son.
- 8:43Speaker 2: She'd be getting mad emotional. And then when the sheriff
- 8:47Speaker 2: met met up with the Sentry and she was dealing
- 8:50Speaker 2: with those emotions. I was just like, is she emotional
- 8:53Speaker 2: because she killed him and know that this is the Sentry?
- 8:56Speaker 2: Is she worried that the Sentry knows that she in
- 8:59Speaker 2: fact killed him? Or is this real?
- 9:02Speaker 3: Because they saying that the Sentry has some of Hal's consciousness,
- 9:06Speaker 3: some of the ring's sentience.
- 9:09Speaker 1: So he was wearing the ring when he got killed.
- 9:12Speaker 1: He wasn't wearing it when he got killed.
- 9:13Speaker 3: No.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Oh, I thought they took it off.
- 9:15Speaker 4: Because remember, the ring was.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Oh, it was back upstairs. I mean, in space. Basketball
- 9:20Speaker 1: was upstairs.
- 9:21Speaker 4: It was upstairs.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Also, maybe the century doesn't know then.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Right.
- 9:24Speaker 1: The hologram. But she knows. Oh, but she knows.
- 9:27Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying? But she played that well, though,
- 9:29Speaker 4: that emotion.
- 9:30Speaker 1: But not well enough.
- 9:31Speaker 4: From the acting tip.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Not well enough, because Hal was like.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 9:35Speaker 4: Hal was like, she killed me.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know nothing but.
- 9:39Speaker 2: But I would think that, too, if I was the century.
- 9:41Speaker 2: I'd be like, man, she killed me, man. You saying,
- 9:44Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, we got something going on?
- 9:45Speaker 4: Nah, man.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Because it's always the one closest to you. I watch
- 9:48Speaker 2: forensic files. It's always the husband.
- 9:50Speaker 1: And Century House is not blinded by love.
- 9:52Speaker 3: No.
- 9:52Speaker 2: It sure ain't. He don't have that connection. So he
- 9:55Speaker 2: just like, nah, man. It's always a significant other in
- 9:58Speaker 2: these murder cases.
- 10:00Speaker 3: And that's the only thing that makes sense. Noah makes
- 10:06Speaker 3: more sense to me.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's Noah.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Noah makes more sense.
- 10:09Speaker 4: I'm still sitting there.
- 10:10Speaker 3: But I still don't, I guess I don't know the world.
- 10:13Speaker 3: I thought Manhunters were created by Guardians. Somehow she passed
- 10:17Speaker 3: the gene along to Noah. That's the part I don't understand.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Are they born? That's why I don't know. And I
- 10:23Speaker 3: don't want to research it because I actually don't know.
- 10:26Speaker 3: And I feel like they only got one episode.
- 10:29Speaker 4: Yeah, one left.
- 10:30Speaker 1: They got to tell us.
- 10:31Speaker 2: I like doing my research sometimes after everything's all said
- 10:34Speaker 2: and done.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Oh, then I'm fully nervous. Yeah, yeah. You think there's
- 10:37Speaker 1: a world where they don't tell us, though? Who killed
- 10:39Speaker 1: Hal in this?
- 10:40Speaker 2: No way. Really?
- 10:42Speaker 3: I think it's far too risky. You start off the
- 10:44Speaker 3: season with Hal Jordan's dead. You at least have to
- 10:48Speaker 3: do that bookend of who shot Hal.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Otherwise, I'm going to be furious.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Or it could be like an old school Dallas situation
- 10:55Speaker 2: where it's like, who shot JR?
- 10:57Speaker 1: But wasn't that at the end of the season?
- 10:58Speaker 2: Yeah, but we had to wait until next season to
- 11:00Speaker 2: figure out who shot JR.
- 11:02Speaker 1: See, I feel like, but JR didn't get shot up top.
- 11:07Speaker 2: No.
- 11:08Speaker 3: I think because if Hal just died, then maybe.
- 11:12Speaker 1: We found out Hal died at the end of episode one.
- 11:14Speaker 3: At the end of episode one, you realize he's dead
- 11:18Speaker 3: in the pilot. You got to check that box off
- 11:20Speaker 3: to me.
- 11:21Speaker 2: To complete season one. You can't let that linger into
- 11:24Speaker 2: the next season.
- 11:25Speaker 1: They'll be right in the streets. I don't know, man.
- 11:28Speaker 1: They be breaking rules left and right now.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Have they ever done that, though, with a show? You
- 11:34Speaker 2: take a show like Twin Peaks, for example. where the
- 11:37Speaker 2: murder of a certain character is the whole reason for
- 11:40Speaker 2: the season, didn't they close that off? Okay, what about,
- 11:49Speaker 2: what's that other show?
- 11:49Speaker 1: That's like True Detective not finding out the thing at
- 11:52Speaker 1: the end of the season.
- 11:53Speaker 2: You got to. Yeah, they will close that up. You
- 11:55Speaker 2: have to.
- 11:56Speaker 4: But that's an anthology kind of.
- 11:58Speaker 2: I was going to say.
- 11:58Speaker 1: That's true.
- 11:59Speaker 5: But what's the compromise for the ending, though, to go
- 12:01Speaker 5: into season two? We find out who kills how. We
- 12:05Speaker 5: might find out who the Manhunter is, but they go
- 12:07Speaker 5: on a terror and then.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Disappear, maybe? That's... This is a good point. Because I'm
- 12:14Speaker 1: trying to figure out how this ends... that doesn't just
- 12:17Speaker 1: feel like what you said.
- 12:18Speaker 3: If we don't find out who shot, how, and if
- 12:21Speaker 3: that baby, I feel like you could tell me that
- 12:23Speaker 3: who shot, how, and not say where the nose of Manhunter,
- 12:26Speaker 3: because that could be that going.
- 12:27Speaker 2: You can keep that. They don't keep something going into
- 12:30Speaker 2: the next. It's probably going to be Sinestro base.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Yes.
- 12:34Speaker 4: What they're going to keep into the next.
- 12:35Speaker 2: He's probably going to be the big, bad, heavy for
- 12:37Speaker 2: season two, but they got to close up who shot, how,
- 12:43Speaker 2: and as far as your guardian question, uh, Darrell or
- 12:47Speaker 2: Darrell said the Guardians did create the Manhunter, but remember
- 12:50Speaker 2: the Manhunter brought a lot of technology to that town,
- 12:54Speaker 2: like the machine that generated John's skin.
- 12:58Speaker 4: So they were well-engraved.
- 12:59Speaker 2: And remember that machine where the cow came in and
- 13:03Speaker 2: then they slaughtered the cow up? Yeah. Laser key?
- 13:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:07Speaker 4: I feel bad for that cow, man.
- 13:10Speaker 1: That cow had no idea what was happening.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Man, dog. Come on, man.
- 13:13Speaker 1: This got zipped up.
- 13:15Speaker 4: I didn't like that scene, man.
- 13:17Speaker 2: That guy was like, move.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Because who's moving all.
- 13:23Speaker 3: The.
- 13:23Speaker 5: Noah's got to be moving the plot forward with whatever Zoe.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Zoe?
- 13:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Zoe told him, remember everything I told you. That's what
- 13:34Speaker 1: I'm saying.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Jay Friedan's saying Noah's to keep the Manhunter line going.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Is he the last one left?
- 13:45Speaker 1: He has to be. Or he has to do something
- 13:48Speaker 1: to be able to keep it moving forward. That's why
- 13:50Speaker 1: they said he killed Hal.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Apparently, the Manhunter got to kill a Green Lantern like
- 13:53Speaker 3: she killed Abin Sur.
- 13:54Speaker 1: She's like, my bad. Was he still a Green Lantern, though?
- 13:57Speaker 1: Abin Sur was a Green Lantern when he got killed.
- 13:59Speaker 3: No, no, no, no.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Hal wasn't still Green Lantern, though.
- 14:02Speaker 2: When?
- 14:03Speaker 1: When he died.
- 14:05Speaker 2: No, he wasn't. Oh, no, you're right. Remember, he got
- 14:08Speaker 2: that ring snatched from John, and John turned it in.
- 14:11Speaker 4: So he was just regular.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Oh, then that theory doesn't hold up. I didn't think
- 14:17Speaker 1: about that.
- 14:18Speaker 5: Well, it could still, but there's still one more missing link.
- 14:22Speaker 5: Maybe Zoe really thought that Jon Stewart was going to
- 14:27Speaker 5: take the ring and move on.
- 14:29Speaker 2: For sure.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Everybody thought that.
- 14:31Speaker 2: That's what threw the ripple in.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I don't know, man.
- 14:36Speaker 4: I'm sure Jon created some kind of rift.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Or she knew that Jon was going to come back
- 14:40Speaker 1: by killing Hal, get the ring.
- 14:44Speaker 1: And maybe they're setting that up to try and kill
- 14:46Speaker 1: John in this last episode. Well, they know they ain't
- 14:49Speaker 1: going to kill that nigga, man.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Oh, no, they can't.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Nah.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Did you believe him when he was rapping OutKast?
- 14:54Speaker 2: No.
- 14:55Speaker 1: No, I didn't believe him.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Nobody seems to. I was saying, this is what I
- 14:58Speaker 2: was saying during my watch party. I was like, when
- 15:00Speaker 2: people sing along to songs or rap songs a lot
- 15:04Speaker 2: of times in movies and TV, they never really.
- 15:08Speaker 4: Sound on rhythm.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Yeah unless the song is actually playing within the scene
- 15:13Speaker 2: usually sometimes they can sync up but a lot of
- 15:15Speaker 2: times so every time he would start rapping the outcast
- 15:18Speaker 2: joint it never sounded.
- 15:19Speaker 5: Right it it always sounded like um not a stipulation
- 15:24Speaker 5: but like a different variation of the.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Song yeah it didn't sound like what he was listening
- 15:30Speaker 2: to at all and i was just like what are
- 15:32Speaker 2: What is he doing?
- 15:33Speaker 3: Sound like he might have been just rapping it with
- 15:35Speaker 3: no music underneath and they tried to put the song under.
- 15:37Speaker 2: That's what I feel like in post.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't hear it. It never sounds.
- 15:41Speaker 4: I don't think he could hear.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I don't think he could hear the song as it
- 15:45Speaker 2: was playing. Yeah.
- 15:46Speaker 4: Because it didn't sound.
- 15:47Speaker 2: But it wasn't because he was British. I wouldn't take
- 15:50Speaker 2: it as because he was British. And then when he
- 15:51Speaker 2: was in the boat, it didn't sound right again.
- 15:55Speaker 1: It also sounded like he didn't really know the song
- 15:57Speaker 1: like that either.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:59Speaker 1: That's what made it more disbelievable for me. Yeah. It
- 16:01Speaker 1: was like, Like he just learned it for that scene.
- 16:03Speaker 1: He read it in the script and kind of made
- 16:05Speaker 1: his own version of it.
- 16:07Speaker 2: But some people really can't pitch songs correctly.
- 16:09Speaker 4: That's how Chaz is.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Every time Chaz would sing a song, I was just like,
- 16:14Speaker 2: you never sound right when you're singing the song when
- 16:17Speaker 2: you're on the court.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Something's off about this.
- 16:19Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying? I'm like, why are you
- 16:21Speaker 4: saying it like that?
- 16:23Speaker 3: The thing is, you got to have a... There's an
- 16:25Speaker 3: OutKast song that I know. The common denominator, the nigga numerator.
- 16:31Speaker 3: I never know who the hated nigga catered to your ego.
- 16:33Speaker 1: That OutKast song?
- 16:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:35Speaker 3: I'm sorry like a dog who's a cousin to Calico.
- 16:37Speaker 3: Vision Puerto Rico, be on the street like Chico. The
- 16:39Speaker 3: bar she lodged and got a lock in the garage.
- 16:40Speaker 3: You got to be like, oh nigga, you know that.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 16:43Speaker 1: It didn't feel like you.
- 16:45Speaker 3: When we was listening to OutKast, it was like Walkman
- 16:48Speaker 3: walking around.
- 16:49Speaker 1: I just keep listening to this OutKast song.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Right.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I feel like.
- 16:53Speaker 3: there's a song all of us know, and maybe not OutKast,
- 16:57Speaker 3: that you don't have, if you play that.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Song, it locks in your mind.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Immediately lock in.
- 17:02Speaker 1: And there is a club too close to fool.
- 17:05Speaker 3: I was like, you ain't know it like common denominator,
- 17:08Speaker 3: nigga numerator, never know who the head of nigga carry
- 17:10Speaker 3: to your ego.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Especially when he was singing, it wasn't like lyrically dense.
- 17:14Speaker 2: So it was like the easiest.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Song to nail.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Yeah. I was still just like, It wasn't like he
- 17:20Speaker 2: had to do Equimini when Andre closed it out. It
- 17:24Speaker 2: was just like, hmm.
- 17:27Speaker 4: This don't sound right.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Now, here's what I didn't expect out of this show
- 17:32Speaker 3: that I thought was good. We've been told basically how
- 17:37Speaker 3: Jordan's dad died, and that's why he has no fear,
- 17:40Speaker 3: because he has nobody to lose. I thought Hal Jordan's
- 17:43Speaker 3: dad died in a plane crash.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Me too.
- 17:46Speaker 3: His dad had suicidal tendencies, suicidal ideation, committed suicide.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Second in the family at least.
- 17:53Speaker 4: That's crazy.
- 17:54Speaker 1: And basically walked Hal down the line of suicide. That's
- 17:59Speaker 1: a total... If you look at Hal Jordan from that lens.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Remember the alien.
- 18:03Speaker 3: From episode one or two was like, I feel like
- 18:07Speaker 3: you want to die, Hal Jordan.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Remember he was interviewing the alien? Yeah. Yeah.
- 18:11Speaker 3: So, it was just really interesting, and somebody online was
- 18:17Speaker 3: saying that baseball, him not letting the baseball go, was
- 18:21Speaker 3: a metaphor for him being different than his dad.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Yeah. Remember, his dad was just like... Come on, let
- 18:25Speaker 1: it go, man. Subtext, subtext, man. Kill yourself.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Right.
- 18:29Speaker 1: That's why I like this show.
- 18:30Speaker 3: If you're not paying attention, you just think he's talking
- 18:33Speaker 3: about right now.
- 18:34Speaker 2: In my head, I'm like.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Wait a second, his dad telling him he finna commit suicide?
- 18:39Speaker 3: And you could kill yourself too?
- 18:41Speaker 2: You too could do it, man.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Just let it go. It's like, we ain't talking about
- 18:46Speaker 3: baseball no more. His dad was like, hey man, kill yourself, man.
- 18:51Speaker 1: It's cool. My daddy did it. I'm finna do it.
- 18:54Speaker 4: All the kids are doing it.
- 18:55Speaker 2: It's the coolest.
- 18:57Speaker 4: Remember that one?
- 18:59Speaker 2: And Billy Madison, when he peed on his cell just
- 19:02Speaker 2: to save his friend. We're all peeing on ourselves. This
- 19:05Speaker 2: is the coolest. And he was like, yeah. All the
- 19:09Speaker 2: kids with themselves.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Yeah, because I was shocked to find that out. I
- 19:13Speaker 2: was like, oh, he killed himself.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Well, he told us he died. The whole time, dad
- 19:16Speaker 3: died in a playing class. Like, all the other characters
- 19:19Speaker 3: are telling us that.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Right.
- 19:20Speaker 1: It never dawned on me that we don't know if
- 19:22Speaker 1: that's true.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Right.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Everybody just believes it, so we think it's true.
- 19:26Speaker 4: Face value, man.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Face value, McGee. I believed you. And his dad.
- 19:31Speaker 3: So now, Hal being like, because I was like, when
- 19:34Speaker 3: I was watching, I was like, why won't he put
- 19:35Speaker 3: this baseball down?
- 19:36Speaker 1: Right, right.
- 19:37Speaker 3: And then that's also a great metaphor for him not
- 19:39Speaker 3: wanting to give up and let the lanterns come, let
- 19:42Speaker 3: John take the lantern thing.
- 19:42Speaker 1: He's like, as a kid.
- 19:44Speaker 4: That's how I was taking it.
- 19:45Speaker 1: For sure.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:47Speaker 1: And I love when shows don't, they don't overload you
- 19:49Speaker 1: up to, Right.
- 19:50Speaker 3: We get that Hal don't want John Stewart to replace him,
- 19:55Speaker 3: but they don't have to be like, here's why. When
- 19:56Speaker 3: Hal Jordan was 80, played the baseball.
- 19:59Speaker 4: Tyler Perry.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Come on, man. I'm trying to meet him.
- 20:04Speaker 4: That's how Tyler Perry would do it.
- 20:07Speaker 3: I don't care about my political aspirations and ambitions.
- 20:12Speaker 2: He would give you all the character, motivations, and inspirations
- 20:16Speaker 2: in the first 10 minutes. He doing this because of this.
- 20:21Speaker 2: They doing this because of this. Right off the top.
- 20:24Speaker 2: We still got nine episodes left, Tyler Perry. I want
- 20:26Speaker 2: everybody to know off the top. They're getting back together
- 20:30Speaker 2: because he got the new job down there at the plant.
- 20:33Speaker 2: He opened up a new law firm. He cheated, but
- 20:35Speaker 2: he came back and he got back together. That's what's
- 20:37Speaker 2: going on right now. The only thing I ain't going
- 20:40Speaker 2: to tell y'all is why a person is so evil.
- 20:43Speaker 2: That's just who they are. Oh, my God.
- 20:47Speaker 1: That's it.
- 20:51Speaker 4: You can still meet Tyler Perry, man.
- 20:53Speaker 2: We got notes on the writing.
- 20:56Speaker 3: I feel like if we met, you'd be like, man,
- 20:57Speaker 3: nice to meet you. Why everybody got to be evil
- 20:59Speaker 3: straight up?
- 21:00Speaker 1: I'm bringing it up. In the party? I want to
- 21:04Speaker 1: take a quick break from the show to talk about
- 21:05Speaker 1: one of our sponsors.
- 21:06Speaker 3: I need to tell you about this new sports trading
- 21:09Speaker 3: app called Polymarket. It's the best new way to trade sports.
- 21:13Speaker 3: In the past, if you wanted action on the game...
- 21:15Speaker 3: You put some money in and if your team was
- 21:17Speaker 3: doing well and you wanted to cash out, they'd lock
- 21:20Speaker 3: the trade or take a huge fee. But Polymarket is
- 21:23Speaker 3: a prediction market. It's a stock exchange for sports. Buying
- 21:26Speaker 3: in and selling out on your terms. When your team
- 21:29Speaker 3: goes down to 20%, you can buy in and sell
- 21:31Speaker 3: it off at 40% when they come back to double
- 21:34Speaker 3: your money. I've tried them all and Polymarket is simply
- 21:36Speaker 3: the best prediction market.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Better than DraftKings, FanDuel, Couchy, you name it.

- 22:09Speaker 2: I'm Tyler Perry. Let's meet.
- 22:10Speaker 1: I'm going to be like, hey, this is Tyler Perry.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Hey.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Tyler Perry.
- 22:13Speaker 4: Tyler Perry, man.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Nice to meet you, man. Tyler.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Props on everything you've done.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Thank you, brother.
- 22:21Speaker 2: So wait. In this meeting. I'm Tyler at a party. Okay.
- 22:25Speaker 2: So we chilling.
- 22:26Speaker 1: We chilling.
- 22:27Speaker 4: Tyler Perry, man.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Hey, man.
- 22:28Speaker 1: What's up, man?
- 22:28Speaker 2: How come you never tell us why your characters are
- 22:31Speaker 2: so evil? What you mean, man?
- 22:33Speaker 4: You never really write that in. None of your characters
- 22:35Speaker 4: are great.
- 22:37Speaker 1: No, I just feel like they're great.
- 22:40Speaker 4: No, no.
- 22:42Speaker 2: When I look at the husband in that movie, what
- 22:44Speaker 2: was the movie where Megan Good was married to?
- 22:48Speaker 1: Acrimony?
- 22:49Speaker 4: No, not Acrimony.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Oh, married to Corey Hardick?
- 22:53Speaker 2: Corey Hardick.
- 22:53Speaker 4: And Corey Hardick was just a jerk. I've done so
- 22:58Speaker 4: many movies. Well, let's take it back to Daddy's Little Girls.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Divorce in Black?
- 23:01Speaker 2: Huh?
- 23:01Speaker 1: Was it Divorce in Black?
- 23:03Speaker 2: Something in Black, I think. And he was just a jerk,
- 23:08Speaker 2: and it was just like, where's the gray? Where's the
- 23:12Speaker 2: gray for him? Show us why she would even latch
- 23:16Speaker 2: on to him. Tasha Smith, just evil and daddy's little girl.
- 23:20Speaker 2: What if Tyler's just.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Like, man, I don't care what y'all think. Nice to
- 23:23Speaker 1: meet you.
- 23:23Speaker 4: We know, though.
- 23:25Speaker 2: You still gonna say that? Yeah, man. I know you
- 23:28Speaker 2: don't care. If it's working, it's working. But you can
- 23:32Speaker 2: just elevate even more because now you can get us
- 23:34Speaker 2: blacks that want the gray.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Now you can get us blacks that's like, man, watch
- 23:37Speaker 4: out Tyler Perry. You can get us as well. Then
- 23:40Speaker 4: you can be worth $ 10 billion.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I made it in four days, man. It's over, Tyler.
- 23:43Speaker 2: That's the problem, man. You're making it too quick. Take
- 23:46Speaker 2: your time, man. You know why we love Ryan Coogler's stuff?
- 23:50Speaker 2: and why it grosses 300 million instead of the usual
- 23:54Speaker 2: tap outs that you have. Because you tap out at
- 23:56Speaker 2: the box office at like 80, 90 million.
- 23:58Speaker 3: I ain't even been in the box office in 10 years.
- 24:00Speaker 3: I've been with Netflix and Amazon. That box office is old.
- 24:03Speaker 3: I be number one every time.
- 24:04Speaker 1: What you got to say about that? It's going to
- 24:05Speaker 1: be quick numbers, then the fade off. I'm number one
- 24:07Speaker 1: every time. But you could be.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Number one with staying power and cultural footprint.
- 24:11Speaker 1: I don't care about nothing but number one. Stay in
- 24:13Speaker 1: power with these balls, nigga. I'm taller.
- 24:16Speaker 4: Hey, man.
- 24:16Speaker 2: You going to take off in a jet pack?
- 24:20Speaker 1: How'd you get that? Have fun walking up on the 405, nigga.
- 24:29Speaker 2: You know what else I noticed?
- 24:30Speaker 1: He just puts his hands out like Iron Man. Like,
- 24:32Speaker 1: how'd you get that? From number one on Netflix for
- 24:34Speaker 1: nearest broke boy.
- 24:35Speaker 2: His dress shoes got thrusters at the bottom.
- 24:39Speaker 4: And then.
- 24:43Speaker 2: That's why you broke like Teddy Riley called you broke
- 24:45Speaker 2: that time. Oh, he going to call me broke for sure.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Teddy Riley called you broke.
- 24:48Speaker 2: That's why you broke now because you over here overthinking, Mr.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Gray.
- 24:51Speaker 2: You gray and broke.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 24:54Speaker 4: I'd be like, but, you know, as a consumer.
- 24:57Speaker 2: But so I noticed, too, with Tyler Perry, like when
- 25:02Speaker 2: there's a hot guy. He gonna scoop that man up immediately.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Your boy from a different world.
- 25:09Speaker 2: As soon as the women be like, ooh, Tyler Perry
- 25:13Speaker 2: be like, let.
- 25:15Speaker 4: Me get you in here.
- 25:16Speaker 2: That's why he ain't get me.
- 25:18Speaker 4: You could be the nice guy or you could be the.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Evil, abusive boyfriend.
- 25:23Speaker 3: People be like, why you ain't work with Tyler? I'm
- 25:24Speaker 3: just regular looking. I'm not like, oh my God, Kev.
- 25:30Speaker 3: I'm just Toyota Camry.
- 25:33Speaker 1: And I know that.
- 25:36Speaker 2: That's when you're the Camry.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Maybe S.E. was hitting the window. You don't know there's
- 25:42Speaker 1: a Camry.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Yeah. A Lamborghini? Oh, my God. Lamborghini Urus. Camry?
- 25:47Speaker 4: So Tyler Perry has a certain visual aesthetic.
- 25:51Speaker 1: What?
- 25:52Speaker 4: When it comes to the men.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Yes.
- 25:55Speaker 1: For sure.
- 25:56Speaker 4: Regular men can't get up in there.
- 25:58Speaker 1: You think they're going to... Regular bank teller guy, this
- 26:03Speaker 1: beautiful nigga in the world.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Muscles, muscles. Tall.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Small.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Muscles.
- 26:10Speaker 1: If you want me to lead, Muscles McGee.
- 26:13Speaker 4: He don't even do the regular sidekicks, does he?
- 26:16Speaker 1: Everybody's beautiful, man.
- 26:17Speaker 2: I'm thinking about the cast of Why Did I Get
- 26:20Speaker 2: Married 3.
- 26:21Speaker 4: Michael Jai White is a leading man.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yes. Jill Scott's husband now is like a Handsome, leading man,
- 26:31Speaker 2: dude with the gray. Lamar Rucker.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Yeah. Lemon love Lamar Rucker.
- 26:34Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Even with the gray. They love him when he was black.
- 26:37Speaker 2: They love him with the gray.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Silver Fox.
- 26:39Speaker 2: He got the silver coochie hair the women have. All
- 26:42Speaker 2: the young dudes in there. Oh, my God. Kids everywhere.
- 26:46Speaker 2: The young dude Taraji was dating. It's a certain visual aesthetic.
- 26:50Speaker 3: I mean, but for the most part, not everybody, but
- 26:54Speaker 3: a lot of people in Hollywood are good looking.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Especially women. Men, you can be ugly.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's a lot of regular looking dudes in Hollywood. Regular.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Killing. Fat, ugly.
- 27:07Speaker 4: Oscar nominated, salaried up.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Be in there. Regular.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Women, you don't see ugly women.
- 27:15Speaker 2: I feel like they starting to spread out a little
- 27:19Speaker 2: bit more. I don't want to put certain women on
- 27:21Speaker 2: blast by name. Don't you dare say a word. Text
- 27:23Speaker 2: me separate. Text me who's ugly.
- 27:26Speaker 3: But if you're funny, they'll let you be a little hefty.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:30Speaker 3: But if you want to be the lead of a drama,
- 27:32Speaker 3: for the most part, not horror.
- 27:33Speaker 1: I'm like, drama, you got to be.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Involving romance.
- 27:38Speaker 3: I think a lot, to me, that's why Gal Gadot
- 27:40Speaker 3: be working.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Because it clearly ain't the acting.
- 27:43Speaker 2: No. Not at all.
- 27:44Speaker 1: It clearly ain't the acting. Kal-El, no! Get up, champagne
- 27:50Speaker 1: for the Nile! They like, forget the acting. But man,
- 27:53Speaker 1: gorgeous face.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Get her in there.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Who cares how she says the line? Because she start talking,
- 27:58Speaker 3: I be like, oh man, just cut it off.
- 28:02Speaker 1: If she's in the movie, I'm out. I can't. But
- 28:04Speaker 1: I was in Wonder Woman, like, man, shut up. You
- 28:07Speaker 1: didn't like the first one? I don't like when she
- 28:09Speaker 1: says words. I don't, I ain't believe the word y'all know.
- 28:13Speaker 2: I let it slide because I could imagine Wonder Woman
- 28:19Speaker 2: talking differently than us.
- 28:23Speaker 1: As much as Gal Gadot does.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Like I could have met, cause she's not, she's
- 28:27Speaker 2: not of America. She's not going to come out sounding British.
- 28:30Speaker 2: She's not going to come out sounding American.
- 28:31Speaker 1: It ain't even the accent.
- 28:32Speaker 2: So I was giving, I was still giving a little
- 28:34Speaker 2: grace on the way she was talking. Steve Trevor and
- 28:37Speaker 2: like talking like that.
- 28:38Speaker 4: And I was like, all right, that's how the Amazonians,
- 28:41Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying?
- 28:41Speaker 1: But the other Amazonians didn't talk like that.
- 28:44Speaker 4: No, they, they was just like.
- 28:45Speaker 1: They was like, man, we, we regular, I don't know
- 28:48Speaker 1: what she is. Galal, get to the top now. Oh,
- 28:52Speaker 1: Even Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is axing it up, I still
- 28:55Speaker 1: believe him.
- 28:56Speaker 4: For sure.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Get to the chopper.
- 28:58Speaker 2: I couldn't get another Arnold back in the day.
- 29:00Speaker 1: I was like, sign me up and get to the chopper.
- 29:02Speaker 2: I'll be back. He leaned in to say that.
- 29:05Speaker 4: I'll be back. I was like, yeah.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:08Speaker 2: He coming back, y'all.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Enough champagne to fill the now.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Cut.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Kevin, you're at home.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Cut.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Let's take it again, y'all. I'm just directing this now. Yeah,
- 29:19Speaker 3: can you just say enough champagne.
- 29:20Speaker 2: To fill the Nile regular?
- 29:22Speaker 1: Enough champagne to fill the Nile.
- 29:23Speaker 3: Cut! Hey, man, just give me Tasha Smith, y'all. If
- 29:28Speaker 3: it were up to me, Tasha Smith would have been
- 29:30Speaker 3: Wonder Woman.
- 29:30Speaker 4: Let me tell you something, man. Tasha Smith is somebody.
- 29:34Speaker 2: That don't miss.
- 29:35Speaker 1: She was my favorite part of that movie. She was
- 29:38Speaker 1: so funny. Did you watch The Corner?
- 29:42Speaker 2: Yes.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Tasha Smith can't do wrong to me. Tasha Smith was
- 29:45Speaker 1: in there? Yeah!
- 29:54Speaker 2: Was she the main lady?
- 29:55Speaker 1: Let me see. Hold on.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Am I tripping?
- 30:05Speaker 4: No, that's, what's her name?
- 30:08Speaker 1: Candy Alexander.
- 30:08Speaker 4: That's Candy Alexander.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Nah, Tasha Smith in there.
- 30:11Speaker 4: Oh, but Candy was the main.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, Candy was the main. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 30:15Speaker 1: She played Ronnie.
- 30:16Speaker 4: I don't remember her in the corner like that.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think she was main, main. Yeah. But
- 30:21Speaker 1: I feel like I wish Tasha Smith had more stuff
- 30:23Speaker 1: to do.
- 30:24Speaker 2: She's one of them ones, like every time I see her,
- 30:26Speaker 2: she delivers. The first time I really took her in
- 30:29Speaker 2: was ATL. She was the mother of them twins, and
- 30:32Speaker 2: she was funny.
- 30:33Speaker 1: And I was just like.
- 30:34Speaker 4: Who was that? And she's a hell of a director.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Yeah, and she gave me money personally to start an
- 30:40Speaker 1: acting class.
- 30:41Speaker 4: That's amazing.
- 30:43Speaker 1: And I was unemployed. Tasha Smith held me down.
- 30:47Speaker 4: Man.
- 30:47Speaker 3: Me, Jay, and Ant flew to New York to do
- 30:49Speaker 3: her acting class with no money. We went straight from
- 30:51Speaker 3: the plane to her acting class.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Oh, that's amazing.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Fell asleep. She was so nice. Her and Sidra are amazing.
- 30:58Speaker 4: That's amazing.
- 30:58Speaker 1: But anyway, back to Lanterns.
- 31:01Speaker 2: I think....
- 31:03Speaker 3: It feels like, and I hope they don't do this,
- 31:05Speaker 3: it feels like they're trying to make a way that
- 31:07Speaker 3: Hal gonna be in season two. And I feel like
- 31:09Speaker 3: you can't make the choice to kill him and continue him.
- 31:13Speaker 3: People are like, maybe he didn't even really die. I'm like, nah,
- 31:15Speaker 3: he died, y'all. And the ring is out of charge.
- 31:20Speaker 3: By the way, I need to make this point real
- 31:21Speaker 3: quick while you're thinking of this. Apple.
- 31:24Speaker 4: Apple.
- 31:25Speaker 1: You see how long that ring is going on 5%?
- 31:27Speaker 2: I was saying that too.
- 31:29Speaker 3: Get with them Green Lantern people because I know the.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Ring is an Android.
- 31:33Speaker 2: He was on 5%.
- 31:35Speaker 1: If the ring was an Apple product, that ring would
- 31:38Speaker 1: have been dead. Ain't no hologram.
- 31:40Speaker 4: It would have been dead as a cemetery.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Bingong.
- 31:42Speaker 4: As soon as he said, oh, the century. Man, what
- 31:44Speaker 4: the hell is going on? It would have been that quick.
- 31:49Speaker 4: The century would have been like, wait a minute.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Am I? Fuck. Fuck.
- 31:56Speaker 2: This has been the longest 5% I've ever seen.
- 31:58Speaker 3: The ring is an android. Both on the alien tip
- 32:04Speaker 3: and the operating system. Ain't no way Steve Jobs didn't
- 32:06Speaker 3: have nothing to do with that.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Man.
- 32:08Speaker 3: That 5% for three. The ring ain't never been fully charged.
- 32:11Speaker 3: That's the only thing Apple about it. It ain't never
- 32:13Speaker 3: been fully charged. They done plugged it in episode four.
- 32:16Speaker 3: Next time you got it.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Low charge. They could have sent three texts. The ring's
- 32:22Speaker 2: back to low.
- 32:24Speaker 4: That ring been hanging on, though.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Man.
- 32:27Speaker 4: Because I've noticed that, too. I'm like, yo, this ring's
- 32:29Speaker 4: still going strong.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Yes.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Is that partially because... They.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Need it for the plot, man.
- 32:36Speaker 4: Well, it's definitely a plot device.
- 32:38Speaker 2: But also, too, they incorporated that in because John can
- 32:41Speaker 2: keep stuff going with minimal ring use.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:45Speaker 4: And so that allows it to.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Well, remember they said that.
- 32:51Speaker 1: John was keeping the hologram going with no ring at all.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Hologram.
- 32:55Speaker 4: Nice.
- 32:56Speaker 2: Hologram. The way that he had the bird going. Yeah.
- 32:59Speaker 1: Now he's just keeping... He's just conjuring this.
- 33:01Speaker 2: That's why you're getting more battery life.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Yeah, because he.
- 33:05Speaker 2: John is just... It'd be like if I could text
- 33:07Speaker 2: you without using my phone.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Yeah, he's just like.
- 33:10Speaker 4: Kev, I.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Take my turn at the pool.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Thought your phone was dead.
- 33:14Speaker 4: Nah, man, I'm doing this.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Kev, I'm on the way.
- 33:16Speaker 4: Yeah, on the way. I could just... Send that while
- 33:20Speaker 4: I'm driving.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 33:23Speaker 3: But, yeah, I think there's some fan theories that John's
- 33:27Speaker 3: going to get the yellow ring from Sinestro and have
- 33:30Speaker 3: so much willpower that it go from yellow to green.
- 33:32Speaker 3: I don't even know if that's how rings work.
- 33:34Speaker 4: I don't know if they got time for that, though.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Well, they can't do it.
- 33:37Speaker 1: What's the compromise, man? I think they go close one
- 33:41Speaker 1: door and probably open two.
- 33:43Speaker 4: Because they got to open the Sinestro door fully.
- 33:46Speaker 3: Got to open up the Sinestro door. Because there really was,
- 33:49Speaker 3: I guess, honestly, Zoe was the villain for season one.
- 33:53Speaker 3: We didn't know that early, but we knew we was
- 33:55Speaker 3: looking for who shot how. And I guess that's the
- 33:57Speaker 3: second villain, so to speak. And then Sinestro broke out
- 34:01Speaker 3: of prison. He's on Oa, or wherever that planet was,
- 34:05Speaker 3: seeing Salty. So- I think they opened the door for Sinestro,
- 34:10Speaker 3: and he's like, come with me.
- 34:12Speaker 5: Or what if we find out that Hal let Sinestro out?
- 34:16Speaker 1: I think he did. That's what I'm saying, because you're
- 34:18Speaker 1: not breaking out of there, man. No. That's space command.
- 34:22Speaker 1: That's space command.
- 34:22Speaker 2: What's he been saying? He broke him out, didn't he?
- 34:25Speaker 1: Guy or Hal? Guy. Guy said Hal broke him out?
- 34:29Speaker 4: I thought that's what it was saying.
- 34:32Speaker 2: But then I was thinking, because I was like, yo,
- 34:35Speaker 2: if Hal broke him out, how did Hal get there?
- 34:37Speaker 4: With no ring.
- 34:40Speaker 2: Because remember, Hal didn't have the ring. Unless he broke
- 34:45Speaker 2: them out before him and John fought.
- 34:47Speaker 3: John socked him out. When Hal was in the rubble,
- 34:49Speaker 3: John took the ring. Hal never got it back.
- 34:52Speaker 4: To my knowledge, no.
- 34:53Speaker 1: He did 10 years in prison.
- 34:54Speaker 4: Because remember, he had to have Guy go get it.
- 34:58Speaker 1: He left it with the Guardian. Yeah. What about that
- 35:03Speaker 1: little black thing?
- 35:04Speaker 3: Maybe he used that little dark matter thing.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Maybe he just put that in the GPS. The Looney Tunes,
- 35:11Speaker 1: the Looney Tunes hole.
- 35:14Speaker 3: Maybe you can tell that hole where you want to go.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Like, hey man, take me to Spasska band. Because we
- 35:19Speaker 1: don't know how that works. Take me inside the... The cell. Yeah,
- 35:25Speaker 1: if you.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Could just travel around with the little Looney Tunes hold,
- 35:28Speaker 2: then the sky's the limit.
- 35:29Speaker 1: You know how convenient that would be?
- 35:30Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 35:33Speaker 4: I got to get something from the crib.
- 35:34Speaker 3: There you go.
- 35:39Speaker 4: I forgot my lip.
- 35:40Speaker 1: And I would be opening it up and putting my
- 35:42Speaker 1: hand in New Orleans.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Give me a shrimp parboil. Grabbing grits whole.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Listen. Let me go get a cat's deli sandwich real quick.
- 35:52Speaker 2: Hey, Kev, you're supposed to save the world with that. Yeah,
- 35:55Speaker 2: hold on, man. I got this cat's deli sandwich.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Have you tried this sandwich?
- 36:00Speaker 2: Hold on, hold on.
- 36:01Speaker 1: To die for. I mean, not, you know.
- 36:03Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? I love Miami Cubans, man.
- 36:06Speaker 2: Cuban sandwich in Miami?
- 36:07Speaker 4: These are great.
- 36:09Speaker 1: The portal's only got 5% charge.
- 36:10Speaker 2: Yeah, hold on.
- 36:11Speaker 1: You got to try this piece of pizza out in Chicago.
- 36:13Speaker 1: It's called Italian Fiesta. What?
- 36:15Speaker 2: What? Get the Italian beef from Portillo. Quit. Not paying
- 36:21Speaker 2: for nothing. Just reaching in, grabbing at all people's plates.
- 36:25Speaker 3: I'm opening it, getting a scoop full of sangria from Spain.
- 36:29Speaker 3: You see a black hand in your restaurant.
- 36:32Speaker 2: What's that, man?
- 36:33Speaker 3: This is restaurant we went to in Spain one time.
- 36:36Speaker 3: I ain't got the points to get over that.
- 36:38Speaker 2: I'm coming here two-handed for the two-hand scoop.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Man.
- 36:43Speaker 1: You can get the crispy edge pancakes from Cracker Barrel.
- 36:45Speaker 4: I get it from anywhere.
- 36:46Speaker 3: The South Cracker Barrel. I firmly believe if your Cracker
- 36:49Speaker 3: Barrel ain't based in a racist county, the food ain't good.
- 36:53Speaker 3: That's why the Cracker Barrel's out here. There's not enough
- 36:56Speaker 3: racism in the soil.
- 36:57Speaker 4: Yeah, they're not as good this way. Arizona, though, is solid.
- 37:02Speaker 3: The more racist the state is, the better the.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Cracker Barrel tastes.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Big build the wall over there.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:10Speaker 1: That's Maricopa County in Phoenix.
- 37:12Speaker 4: That's facts.
- 37:12Speaker 1: You got to have the crispy edges. It's what makes
- 37:14Speaker 1: the pancakes crispy. Yeah, that's their wall. Seasoned in racism. Absolutely.
- 37:19Speaker 4: The bigotry biscuits. The bigotry biscuits, though.
- 37:23Speaker 2: All right, man.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Let's move over.
- 37:27Speaker 4: The drop.
- 37:28Speaker 1: To the drop.
- 37:29Speaker 4: Episode three of the drop, man.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Episode three of the drop. Go ahead, Cole, kick us off.
- 37:33Speaker 4: So, Wanda's cousin, what's his name?
- 37:40Speaker 2: Lamar? Lamar. Yeah.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Right. So.
- 37:43Speaker 5: More.
- 37:44Speaker 3: More.
- 37:44Speaker 2: He liked the little beat he made, and his partner sidekick,
- 37:47Speaker 2: his Chad Hugo, was just like, yeah, man, you know
- 37:51Speaker 2: what I'm saying? We got him on this song. So
- 37:54Speaker 2: they trying to push that song to be the first
- 37:55Speaker 2: single for the record label. The record label is like, yo,
- 37:58Speaker 2: this is the one. Let's get it going. But he's
- 38:01Speaker 2: in his artistry bag. Ambitions of a rider. I want
- 38:06Speaker 2: to give him a different beat. So he trying to
- 38:09Speaker 2: sabotage the whole liftoff.
- 38:13Speaker 4: For the single. He's like, I don't want that to
- 38:15Speaker 4: be the lead single. We don't care.
- 38:17Speaker 2: This is how we getting the record deal. You can
- 38:20Speaker 2: make more beats. Let's just get our foot in the door.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Get this going. Your name is going to be out there.
- 38:25Speaker 2: We can get more beats.
- 38:26Speaker 4: I don't know why he is hell bent on, nah, man,
- 38:30Speaker 4: that can't be the lead single.
- 38:32Speaker 1: I am with you.
- 38:33Speaker 4: You're sabotaging the whole operation.
- 38:36Speaker 1: We ain't even got out the hood yet.
- 38:38Speaker 4: We ain't got nowhere.
- 38:40Speaker 2: You barely, you can't even live in your house because
- 38:43Speaker 2: your mom don't even want you doing music.
- 38:45Speaker 4: Just give me the goddamn beat. Let us get up
- 38:47Speaker 4: in here.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Tony's about to go on the TV.
- 38:49Speaker 4: Man, I'm just like, he was pissing me off.
- 38:52Speaker 1: To reach in the portal.
- 38:53Speaker 2: Especially everything they had to.
- 38:55Speaker 4: Do to get it going and they're definitely just pressing it.
- 38:57Speaker 2: What's his name? What's the rapper's name?
- 39:00Speaker 1: Artillery.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Artillery.
- 39:02Speaker 4: The cops are literally trying to kill this man.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Literally.
- 39:05Speaker 4: He is running for his life every episode.
- 39:07Speaker 1: And he ain't healed up. Get the damn song out, man.
- 39:11Speaker 4: He can't even get his wounds healed properly.
- 39:12Speaker 1: He won't even go to the photo shoot.
- 39:14Speaker 4: Every time he rapped, he started bleeding externally.
- 39:17Speaker 2: He'd be like, yeah, man. Oh, shit.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Head bobbing.
- 39:20Speaker 2: My shirt.
- 39:21Speaker 4: He'd been in the same dirty jacket. I don't even
- 39:23Speaker 4: know if he's bathed.
- 39:24Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 39:25Speaker 1: He'd been ducked off to the side.
- 39:28Speaker 2: He'd been running from the law.
- 39:30Speaker 4: Literally. They trying to take him out.
- 39:33Speaker 2: He's hopping fences.
- 39:34Speaker 3: I know that wound on his stomach opened up.
- 39:37Speaker 4: It's infected.
- 39:38Speaker 1: They hopped barbed wire. Everybody did.
- 39:41Speaker 4: He hopped that barbed wire smooth.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Him and the police. Nobody got caught.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Nobody shredded up. That was some fake barbed wire. Oh, yeah.
- 39:48Speaker 1: They jumped over that clean.
- 39:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it was clean.
- 39:50Speaker 1: No one shirt grabbed or nothing. No shred.
- 39:53Speaker 2: My whole hand was a still been on that fence.
- 39:55Speaker 2: I would have been handless in my rap videos, just nubs.
- 39:59Speaker 4: Give it up for nubs on Rap City, y'all. Yeah,
- 40:02Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying?
- 40:03Speaker 2: I can't even throw up my set in the hood.
- 40:05Speaker 1: It's the two nub commandment.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Man, throw your set up. Y'all know I'm nubbed out.
- 40:11Speaker 4: I'm just all arms. I gotta use my arms to
- 40:14Speaker 4: really write the letters.
- 40:15Speaker 1: Y'all know I'm nubbed out.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Y'all know I'm nubbed out, man. Come on, man. Stalk
- 40:20Speaker 2: me out.
- 40:20Speaker 1: Come on, you know.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Who I am. Throw your set up. I can't.
- 40:27Speaker 4: Now I gotta use my feet.
- 40:28Speaker 2: I can't.
- 40:30Speaker 4: I gotta take my chucks off.
- 40:32Speaker 2: But, so now... And what's his name? You know, he
- 40:38Speaker 2: kind of cooled off a little bit, but I know
- 40:39Speaker 2: he's still plotting on getting his revenge when they stomp
- 40:43Speaker 2: him out in his drawers.
- 40:43Speaker 1: He not letting that go.
- 40:45Speaker 3: And they, whoever he introduced as like the henchman of that,
- 40:48Speaker 3: they already introduced him.
- 40:49Speaker 1: He got to do something.
- 40:50Speaker 2: Oh, he's doing something.
- 40:51Speaker 3: You can't, Chekhov's gun implies that you cannot introduce somebody
- 40:56Speaker 3: who's known to do this stuff. And then he just,
- 40:59Speaker 3: you can't just forget about him. That show's too well-written
- 41:02Speaker 3: for them to be like.
- 41:03Speaker 1: You talking about Problems' character?
- 41:04Speaker 2: No, no, no. The dude who.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Remember the white lawyer was like.
- 41:09Speaker 4: He from Snowfall that Leon beat up.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Big up.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, I remember that episode. Yeah.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Well, he was like... Lying, man.
- 41:16Speaker 3: He was like, man, big Dion. You shouldn't be doing that.
- 41:19Speaker 3: My client will help you. And he came in like,
- 41:20Speaker 3: what's good?
- 41:21Speaker 1: Yeah. And DG was like, yeah, I got a perm.
- 41:24Speaker 4: Yeah, because he's still going to get that gift back.
- 41:27Speaker 1: For sure.
- 41:28Speaker 4: He's still going to get that gift back.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Because that hood is in you.
- 41:31Speaker 4: It's in you, man.
- 41:32Speaker 2: And what's the name that... artillery's manager, Lighthouse.
- 41:37Speaker 1: Dara.
- 41:38Speaker 2: She be getting on my nerves, but I like her
- 41:40Speaker 2: at the same time.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like she's just out of her comfort zone.
- 41:44Speaker 4: Yeah, she out of the comfort zone.
- 41:45Speaker 2: She's still trying to figure everything out, but she's got
- 41:47Speaker 2: some integrity on the back end.
- 41:50Speaker 4: When Lamar came in there... trying to sidestep Wanda.
- 41:54Speaker 1: She redirected him right back.
- 41:56Speaker 2: She called her anyway, just to be on the up
- 41:58Speaker 2: and up. And I thought that was solid. He's over
- 42:00Speaker 2: there in the blue apartment.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Yeah. You know, and Wanda, I mean, Lamar's.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Like, no, no, no, no, no. She's like, I ain't
- 42:05Speaker 2: trying to hear you.
- 42:06Speaker 1: No.
- 42:06Speaker 4: I'm telling Wanda.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Let me tell you what I love about this show.
- 42:09Speaker 2: It's women-led. Yes.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Wanda is the lead.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Dara leads the Bloods, and the record label exec, even
- 42:17Speaker 3: though she's undermined, she is actually in charge.
- 42:20Speaker 1: She's the face. She's the face. You don't really get
- 42:22Speaker 1: shows that are women-led like that.
- 42:24Speaker 3: And then they are well aware of the problems that
- 42:26Speaker 3: come from, because DG just choked Wanda out.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Right.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Like, the violence is there.
- 42:31Speaker 1: For sure.
- 42:32Speaker 2: The record label people are undermining her.
- 42:35Speaker 3: Dara, she ain't really, she hasn't been in control of
- 42:39Speaker 3: her stuff yet. I haven't seen a way where she's like,
- 42:43Speaker 3: The Bloods respect her tough. They like, remember Buddy was,
- 42:46Speaker 3: I mean not Buddy, Artillery was like, nah, wait for Dara.
- 42:49Speaker 3: And she's the one that, like let them do the stomping.
- 42:52Speaker 3: I think that's really interesting for a show based on
- 42:55Speaker 3: what this is based off to like, we're going to
- 42:57Speaker 3: focus on these women and how their POV is. Cause
- 43:01Speaker 3: Leon was, was almost co-lead of Snowfall for a good.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Amount of it.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Right.
- 43:07Speaker 4: I feel like he kind of took a backseat to
- 43:09Speaker 4: Jerome and them.
- 43:10Speaker 2: Yeah. He was more prominent in the beginning. And even now,
- 43:13Speaker 2: like he, he steps in when he has to.
- 43:17Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying?
- 43:17Speaker 2: Like when Wanda needs him or he needs to smooth
- 43:19Speaker 2: something over, it's just like, So his presence is still there.
- 43:24Speaker 4: But, and then, you know, I really like James a lot.
- 43:28Speaker 2: Love James. James is probably my favorite character right now
- 43:33Speaker 2: because he just looking out for his little brother. He's
- 43:35Speaker 2: trying to do the right thing with Big Daddy or
- 43:38Speaker 2: what's his name?
- 43:39Speaker 1: Big Daddy, yeah. McElty Williamson, man.
- 43:40Speaker 4: Yeah, and he always brings it too.
- 43:42Speaker 2: He always, him?
- 43:45Speaker 3: Bokeem Woodbine, they gonna give it to you. Whatever you
- 43:49Speaker 3: need them to do, McKenzie Williamson, from Bubba to this,
- 43:53Speaker 3: you wouldn't even think.
- 43:53Speaker 1: That's the same actor.
- 43:54Speaker 2: Right, for sure.
- 43:55Speaker 3: He's so believable as this. That's what I like about James.
- 44:00Speaker 3: He's the only one that called Lamar out. He's like, man,
- 44:02Speaker 3: this dude is a narcissist.
- 44:04Speaker 2: He's ambitious.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Y'all let all that stuff go.
- 44:07Speaker 3: He knows exactly what he's doing. And his character, if
- 44:10Speaker 3: you think about it from what James said, he only
- 44:12Speaker 3: cares about him. He don't care what it costs Dara.
- 44:16Speaker 3: And honestly, he don't care about himself. That's why he
- 44:18Speaker 3: got socked out. That's why I was happy too.
- 44:20Speaker 2: I was so happy he got socked out by that
- 44:23Speaker 2: Jerry Curl dude.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Jason Martin socked him out.
- 44:26Speaker 2: I was like, you can't just roll up in the
- 44:28Speaker 2: spot and cut the music off.
- 44:30Speaker 1: It worked last time. This time he was lucky.
- 44:33Speaker 2: He got lucky that one time where he was like,
- 44:35Speaker 2: I can do this any time. He thought he was
- 44:37Speaker 2: going to relive the magic.
- 44:39Speaker 1: What?
- 44:40Speaker 4: Hell no. And he was like, hey, man, yeah, I
- 44:44Speaker 4: socked him. Nigga, no.
- 44:47Speaker 3: Hey, which one of y'all morgues hit my brother?
- 44:50Speaker 1: Me, nigga. It was so bad.
- 44:54Speaker 2: I did. What's happening, dude? I was like. I don't
- 44:58Speaker 2: need that.
- 44:59Speaker 5: Tony.
- 45:00Speaker 2: I need that.
- 45:01Speaker 3: Boy, I thank God I grew up on a military basis. Because, man,
- 45:06Speaker 3: can you imagine a nigga say, I need that. I
- 45:08Speaker 3: got to fight now.
- 45:10Speaker 4: You got to, though.
- 45:10Speaker 1: And he got slapped. And the nigga was like, y'all
- 45:13Speaker 1: go wake y'all homie up.
- 45:16Speaker 4: He was in there like.
- 45:18Speaker 3: Remember in the Turtles, you get knocked out, they have
- 45:21Speaker 3: the birds. Everybody in the house knows you got knocked out.
- 45:26Speaker 2: The cops that raided the crib had to wake him up.
- 45:31Speaker 4: Like, man, it's a raid.
- 45:32Speaker 2: It's a raid, huh? It's a raid, huh? Put your
- 45:36Speaker 2: hands behind your back. Wait, what year is it? Imagine
- 45:39Speaker 2: getting knocked out and you wake up to the fans.
- 45:41Speaker 2: You had a terrible night.
- 45:44Speaker 1: You woke up in handcuffs because of Lamar. Because Lamar turned.
- 45:48Speaker 2: The music off. And that's what I'm talking about. He's
- 45:51Speaker 2: going to end up getting his brother killed, man. Because
- 45:54Speaker 2: he's a solid big bro.
- 45:57Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying?
- 45:57Speaker 2: He just wants to take over the family business, make
- 46:00Speaker 2: this cat that looked out for him and his brother proud.
- 46:03Speaker 2: I like that dynamic right there. Lamar's just getting on
- 46:05Speaker 2: my goddamn nerves. Because you're just too soft to just
- 46:08Speaker 2: be moving like you're moving. I get your artistic integrity,
- 46:12Speaker 2: but you also got to respect the lane that you're in.
- 46:16Speaker 1: And they reminded him this is a violent world.
- 46:18Speaker 4: Yes.
- 46:19Speaker 1: And niggas don't care about your music, bro. They also
- 46:21Speaker 1: got out too quick for my liking. What you mean?
- 46:24Speaker 5: They got processed and bailed out way too quick.
- 46:27Speaker 2: Me too.
- 46:28Speaker 1: I thought James was finna be in. Yes. Like, I
- 46:31Speaker 1: thought that was like, oh, this is Ramar's cross the bear.
- 46:34Speaker 4: I know somebody had to connect. Leon had to connect.
- 46:37Speaker 4: Leon had to connect.
- 46:38Speaker 2: Leon pulled some strings.
- 46:39Speaker 1: Didn't the lawyer come? Yeah, Leon, one of the ones
- 46:42Speaker 1: he was talking to earlier.
- 46:43Speaker 2: Yeah, he's plugged into that because, you know, he's been
- 46:45Speaker 2: trying to make a difference in the community.
- 46:47Speaker 1: How much bread Leon got right now?
- 46:48Speaker 4: Well, he had three million at the end of Snowfall.
- 46:52Speaker 3: And this is 90-something bread.
- 46:53Speaker 2: Because Franklin was like, give me the money. And Leon
- 46:57Speaker 2: was like, I got about three million. Let me get that.
- 47:00Speaker 2: And he denied him. He gave him like 750 or
- 47:02Speaker 2: he might even gave him.
- 47:06Speaker 4: He gave him like some cash, but he wasn't giving
- 47:08Speaker 4: all he had.
- 47:09Speaker 2: Not the three.
- 47:09Speaker 1: Let me get that. He wasn't getting the full three.
- 47:11Speaker 1: And three million, even two million in- I.
- 47:13Speaker 2: Would have gave you one.
- 47:15Speaker 1: One of the three?
- 47:16Speaker 2: I would have gave Franklin one million. Based on everything-
- 47:20Speaker 2: If I had three, knowing how he was moving, I
- 47:24Speaker 2: can't give you all of them.
- 47:25Speaker 1: No, because I'm never going to see it again.
- 47:26Speaker 4: But given that I have this because of you, I'm
- 47:28Speaker 4: giving you one million.
- 47:29Speaker 1: For sure.
- 47:30Speaker 4: Not because- Not because, oh, I'm up now.
- 47:33Speaker 2: Fuck you. It's just I know.
- 47:34Speaker 1: I'm never getting that bread back.
- 47:36Speaker 4: This ain't going to end well.
- 47:37Speaker 1: And in order to get it back.
- 47:38Speaker 4: And I'd be a fool to give you the whole three.
- 47:41Speaker 1: Everything that happened to me, I deserve if I hand
- 47:43Speaker 1: you over $ 3 million.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Right.
- 47:45Speaker 1: That I know I can't give back. Leon can't go
- 47:46Speaker 1: work at Tam's Burgers, can he?
- 47:47Speaker 2: Hell no. So he had some bread tucked away. And
- 47:53Speaker 2: I'm not sure what kind of earnings that he had
- 47:56Speaker 2: since then. But he ain't broke. Nah, he ain't broke.
- 48:00Speaker 4: He got that nice apartment.
- 48:01Speaker 1: He's good.
- 48:02Speaker 4: Yeah, he's good. But I really like, I'm.
- 48:05Speaker 2: Interested to see the James dynamic play out. But his brother,
- 48:11Speaker 2: he better not get on my nerves in episode four.
- 48:13Speaker 2: Turn the masters in, little nigga.
- 48:15Speaker 4: Turn it in, man.
- 48:16Speaker 2: DG was like. I'm glad DG went in there and
- 48:18Speaker 2: was like, give me the goddamn masters, dog.
- 48:20Speaker 1: What the hell you think you.
- 48:22Speaker 4: Talking about, man?
- 48:23Speaker 2: He like, man, you told him where I had to hit.
- 48:25Speaker 2: If I was one, I was like, yeah! Yeah, I
- 48:28Speaker 2: told them where you had the masters hidden, man.
- 48:30Speaker 1: Sam Jackson. I've been like, I'll do it again.
- 48:33Speaker 2: I'll do it again.
- 48:34Speaker 4: You were silly with it, man.
- 48:35Speaker 1: Yeah, you were.
- 48:36Speaker 4: We're trying to get our foot in the door at
- 48:37Speaker 4: this label. They don't believe in me. Sure.
- 48:40Speaker 2: This woman up here got my, but you don't know
- 48:41Speaker 2: what we be doing behind the scenes.
- 48:44Speaker 3: Literally.
- 48:44Speaker 2: Why are you cooking up the beat?
- 48:46Speaker 3: And all you're doing is making the beat, man. Artillery
- 48:50Speaker 3: not coming to the photo shoot. The radio, like, we
- 48:53Speaker 3: got one shot, nigga, and you playing. You talking about
- 48:55Speaker 3: your dreams in the mix. Man, watch out, man.
- 48:59Speaker 2: Just make us another mix. You do know albums are
- 49:04Speaker 2: made up of various songs, right?
- 49:07Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 49:09Speaker 2: You can have that song on there and this other
- 49:12Speaker 2: one that you dying to make.
- 49:13Speaker 4: That can be tracked too, dummy.
- 49:15Speaker 3: But I love that though because I think Lamar is
- 49:20Speaker 3: written to make us uncomfortable because he... I think he's
- 49:25Speaker 3: written like that to show how hard it is to
- 49:28Speaker 3: be artistic in that world of the gang world and
- 49:32Speaker 3: also in the record label world. They about money too.
- 49:36Speaker 3: They not caring about the artistry. How many artists we
- 49:39Speaker 3: follow who are mad at their agent, mad at their manager,
- 49:41Speaker 3: you put the wrong song on. Like, they real mercurial
- 49:45Speaker 3: about their stuff. He is the same. And so is Artillery.
- 49:49Speaker 3: You know, he didn't go to the photo shoot because
- 49:50Speaker 3: he was like, this is going to be whack. I
- 49:52Speaker 3: assume they didn't really say why he didn't go. But
- 49:54Speaker 3: I think he's written to show how annoying artists can
- 49:58Speaker 3: be that are very particular about stuff. And he's just like.
- 50:02Speaker 3: I think he has written for us to be happy
- 50:04Speaker 3: that he got socked out. Because when he got socked,
- 50:06Speaker 3: I was like.
- 50:07Speaker 2: But it's too early.
- 50:08Speaker 4: He didn't even get played yet.
- 50:10Speaker 2: I know.
- 50:10Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 50:11Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying?
- 50:13Speaker 2: He was able to cook up a beat, and they
- 50:14Speaker 2: played it in the blood house, and everything clicked. Yeah.
- 50:17Speaker 2: And I've been like, all right, let that click a
- 50:19Speaker 2: little bit more. I got something else on the back end.
- 50:22Speaker 2: When that single gets put out and it dries.
- 50:25Speaker 4: Out, this.
- 50:27Speaker 1: Okay, but what about this?
- 50:29Speaker 3: You telling a joke you don't really feel and they
- 50:31Speaker 3: loving it. What's that joke for the Ball Brothers that
- 50:33Speaker 3: went viral and you was like, uh, black church, white church,
- 50:39Speaker 3: black church dude went crazy viral.
- 50:44Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, the stuff that was going viral. The stuff
- 50:46Speaker 2: that was going.
- 50:46Speaker 3: Viral was never the stuff that we thought was funny.
- 50:49Speaker 3: So imagine the record label was like, yo, we putting
- 50:51Speaker 3: this joke on Netflix. And we're like, nah, man, I
- 50:54Speaker 3: got all these other jokes. They was like, nah, the
- 50:56Speaker 3: one that you didn't put no work into, it was
- 50:58Speaker 3: just great for the algorithm.
- 51:00Speaker 2: That's Lamar.
- 51:02Speaker 4: But he put work into that beat.
- 51:04Speaker 1: No, I know that. You could say we put work
- 51:06Speaker 1: into the Ball Brothers.
- 51:07Speaker 2: But it was just in the moment. It was just like, yeah,
- 51:10Speaker 2: that was just something I threw. I guess he's looking
- 51:13Speaker 2: at it like, that's something I just threw together or just.
- 51:15Speaker 3: Said on the whim. And that's going viral. Your real material,
- 51:20Speaker 3: the stuff you done tried and true.
- 51:22Speaker 4: Can be included in the Netflix special.
- 51:24Speaker 1: No, this is it. You don't know you're getting no album.
- 51:29Speaker 1: Right now, Lamar, no, he don't know. He don't know.
- 51:32Speaker 1: He might think this.
- 51:32Speaker 3: Because remember, it's all riding on this. If this is whack,
- 51:36Speaker 3: you don't get another chance. So he's thinking this all
- 51:40Speaker 3: I ever be known for is the equivalent to you
- 51:42Speaker 3: and I being known for a joke we don't even
- 51:44Speaker 3: care about.
- 51:45Speaker 2: So he's thinking of it like, all right, if they
- 51:49Speaker 2: put out the ambitions of a rider, I assume that's
- 51:53Speaker 2: the name of that first song. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 51:55Speaker 4: Then, as a producer, he's going to get stuck in that.
- 51:58Speaker 2: Bingo.
- 51:58Speaker 4: He don't want to get stuck in that.
- 51:59Speaker 3: So imagine if you feel like everything that goes viral
- 52:02Speaker 3: is going to always be that same thing that you
- 52:04Speaker 3: note on.
- 52:04Speaker 2: Ambitions of a writer, man. Ambitions of a writer.
- 52:07Speaker 4: Nah, I got other stuff.
- 52:08Speaker 1: Nah, man.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Ambitions of a writer.
- 52:10Speaker 1: That's how he feels. Because it's like, I love stand-up.
- 52:17Speaker 3: If it was just like, man, we want you to do,
- 52:19Speaker 3: I saw this on the internet, on Netflix, just exactly
- 52:21Speaker 3: how you do it on your phone.
- 52:22Speaker 1: I'm like, no, I want to make movies.
- 52:23Speaker 3: Let me do the buddy comedy with Tone. Nah, man, nigga,
- 52:26Speaker 3: I said I saw this on the internet. Pull the tweet,
- 52:29Speaker 3: little nigga. Then I'd be like, nah, come on, man.
- 52:33Speaker 3: I got so much more. I feel like that's how
- 52:35Speaker 3: Lamar is. And when you're in your mind like that,
- 52:39Speaker 3: you can't.
- 52:40Speaker 2: You can't get it out.
- 52:42Speaker 4: I can see that now.
- 52:43Speaker 1: And you are annoying everybody.
- 52:45Speaker 2: Oh, he's big annoying. Because it is a good song.
- 52:47Speaker 2: And you just loved it two episodes. He was just
- 52:49Speaker 2: proud of it. That's what's pissing me off, though. He
- 52:52Speaker 2: was just proud of that damn song. He put it on.
- 52:55Speaker 2: He saw the bloods in there.
- 52:56Speaker 4: He was like, oh, this is it, y'all.
- 52:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:59Speaker 1: I love how DG was like, nigga, you're not using
- 53:01Speaker 1: this stuff.
- 53:02Speaker 2: You don't turn that stuff in.
- 53:02Speaker 1: What you think this is? Yeah. He was in it
- 53:04Speaker 1: like all the boards and stuff. Hell no, man.
- 53:06Speaker 3: I love that.
- 53:07Speaker 1: No.
- 53:07Speaker 2: He getting too comfortable too quick. This is work, man.
- 53:10Speaker 1: Yeah. Yep. All right.
- 53:12Speaker 3: So next week, the finale of Lanterns. What the hell
- 53:15Speaker 3: we going to do if we only got one thing
- 53:16Speaker 3: to cover?
- 53:17Speaker 4: Well, the lanterns is going to go away. We still
- 53:19Speaker 4: got the drop.
- 53:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Well, drop will be good. We can move to first position.
- 53:23Speaker 1: But what are we going to do for the back half?
- 53:25Speaker 4: Do we do a different world? I'm not really interested
- 53:28Speaker 4: in that show.
- 53:30Speaker 2: Damn. Did you watch any of it?
- 53:33Speaker 4: I don't be rolling up on remakes, man. I still
- 53:36Speaker 4: haven't seen Bel-Air.
- 53:38Speaker 2: Really?
- 53:39Speaker 4: I never pulled up.
- 53:41Speaker 2: That don't feel like a remake.
- 53:44Speaker 4: It feels like its own thing.
- 53:45Speaker 1: It feels like its own thing.
- 53:46Speaker 4: I never pulled up, man.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Really? Not even season one?
- 53:49Speaker 4: I ain't seen nothing.
- 53:51Speaker 1: Dang. Well, the Chris Bobby Pats movie's out.
- 53:57Speaker 2: Oh, Robert Pattinson?
- 53:58Speaker 1: The Chris Hansen movie.
- 53:59Speaker 2: Primetime.
- 54:01Speaker 1: Primetime, Average Joe. Average Joe's a lot of episodes though.
- 54:04Speaker 4: Average Joe. I did start watching Average Joe. Mobland is back.
- 54:08Speaker 1: When?
- 54:09Speaker 4: It's back already.
- 54:10Speaker 1: It just started.
- 54:10Speaker 4: So I think the second episode should be up now.
- 54:13Speaker 1: Oh!
- 54:13Speaker 2: Let's watch that one.
- 54:14Speaker 4: So Mobland is back. I didn't know Mobland was back.
- 54:16Speaker 1: I'm in it at this point.
- 54:17Speaker 2: We can do Mobland.
- 54:18Speaker 1: When did Mobland come back?
- 54:20Speaker 2: Like recently. Yeah, like last week.
- 54:22Speaker 1: Tom Hardy. We talking about Tom Hardy.
- 54:23Speaker 4: Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, they all back.
- 54:26Speaker 1: Man, that was my show.
- 54:27Speaker 4: Yeah, that's back.
- 54:29Speaker 1: Okay. Wait, are we TV? Are we TV now?
- 54:34Speaker 2: I mean... There's more TV than movies. Yeah, movies are.
- 54:37Speaker 1: Movies are not coming out like that.
- 54:39Speaker 2: Play it out.
- 54:40Speaker 1: What do you mean? This is a great year for movies. No, no,
- 54:42Speaker 1: I mean.
- 54:43Speaker 4: They're coming out. Like, this weekend, it was Avengers Endgame
- 54:46Speaker 4: got re-released.
- 54:47Speaker 2: Primetime. Primetime, yeah.
- 54:49Speaker 1: You don't watch Endgame?
- 54:50Speaker 2: The movie with Brad Pitt and his dog.
- 54:52Speaker 1: Ugh.
- 54:53Speaker 2: I have no desire. What was that, Beast of Dog
- 54:56Speaker 2: or whatever? Beast of Bird or whatever.
- 54:57Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I'm good. I said, man, what?
- 54:58Speaker 2: That's out.
- 54:59Speaker 1: I feel like I saw that movie already, and I
- 55:01Speaker 1: haven't seen that. Yeah. As soon as I saw the
- 55:03Speaker 1: poster and the trailer, I was like, man.
- 55:05Speaker 3: Move, man.
- 55:06Speaker 2: That's one of them good, feel-good white man and his
- 55:08Speaker 2: dog movies.
- 55:08Speaker 1: Man, watch out.
- 55:10Speaker 3: I don't care about that. I do want to see
- 55:12Speaker 3: the Anne Hathaway scary movie, though.
- 55:15Speaker 1: That's coming out this weekend. Okay, and we go after
- 55:17Speaker 1: Bobby Pats.
- 55:19Speaker 2: Robert Pattinson's movie is out. That made about $ 19 million
- 55:22Speaker 2: over the weekend.
- 55:23Speaker 1: Really? Yeah.
- 55:24Speaker 2: The Dog movie made about $ 20. The Herb movie didn't
- 55:27Speaker 2: do good. The Avengers Endgame was $ 26.
- 55:28Speaker 3: Huh?
- 55:28Speaker 1: The movie with Herb didn't do good. It's not Endgame.
- 55:30Speaker 1: What's it called?
- 55:31Speaker 2: Encore. Encore. Avengers Encore. What is it?
- 55:34Speaker 1: Avengers with some extra scenes?
- 55:35Speaker 4: They got like four minutes of extra stuff.
- 55:37Speaker 2: What the hell?
- 55:38Speaker 1: Why did I think of that? Why did I think
- 55:40Speaker 1: it was Doomsday? Is that next year? No, no, that's Christmas.
- 55:44Speaker 2: Oh. Yeah, it's Christmas.
- 55:45Speaker 1: That's what I thought we were talking about.
- 55:47Speaker 2: So they re-released it for that.
- 55:49Speaker 4: They did 26 million this weekend.
- 55:51Speaker 1: With four minutes in it? Yeah.
- 55:53Speaker 4: Because people want to see that again in theaters, though.
- 55:56Speaker 1: Wow.
- 55:57Speaker 2: Because that was still one of the best movie experiences
- 56:00Speaker 2: I've ever had.
- 56:01Speaker 4: Oh, all time. Was going to see Endgame.
- 56:04Speaker 3: 26 million on something that you already made?
- 56:07Speaker 2: That's just domestically. So it's just adding to the total
- 56:10Speaker 2: box office that they were already sitting on. But the
- 56:14Speaker 2: top five were, I took a pick because I was
- 56:16Speaker 2: going to do it. Because I haven't done the videos
- 56:18Speaker 2: in a while. Box office nerd. Box office nerd here.
- 56:22Speaker 2: Box office nerd here. 26 million Avengers Endgame. Resident Evil
- 56:26Speaker 2: was number two with 23.3.
- 56:28Speaker 1: Beast.
- 56:29Speaker 4: The Heart of the Beast with Brad Pitt. There it goes.
- 56:31Speaker 2: It's 20 million. I said the Beast of the Dome.
- 56:33Speaker 2: It's something Beast is burning. Whatever. Primetime with Robert Pattinson, 19.1,
- 56:38Speaker 2: and Forgotten Island is 12.8.
- 56:39Speaker 4: That's the one.
- 56:41Speaker 1: That was $ 80 million budget.
- 56:42Speaker 4: Yeah, they taking the L.
- 56:43Speaker 2: The reviews have been great, but what do you think
- 56:47Speaker 2: is happening? It's just animated. Animated is not an easy
- 56:51Speaker 2: sell like it used to be.
- 56:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like there was a time where you was.
- 56:55Speaker 3: Animated Pixar, DreamWorks, How to Train a Dragon.
- 56:59Speaker 2: It was like... Whatever you have.
- 57:02Speaker 1: We was going.
- 57:03Speaker 2: Now for a new piece of animation that's not a sequel?
- 57:08Speaker 4: They be like, I don't know, man, I don't know.
- 57:10Speaker 2: Then they gotta just gradually, because the reviews have been great.
- 57:15Speaker 4: And it's Filipino-based. And the promo was crazy.
- 57:18Speaker 2: When I went to AMC to see Your Mother, Your Mother,
- 57:21Speaker 2: they had the promo for Forgotten Island all over the
- 57:24Speaker 2: elevator and the parking structure. They was like, promo, promo.
- 57:28Speaker 4: But 12.8 million. They're going to be like, even that
- 57:33Speaker 4: Brad Pitt movie is $ 80 million.
- 57:35Speaker 2: Budget?
- 57:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 57:36Speaker 1: And you said it had how much?
- 57:37Speaker 4: It made $ 20 domestically.
- 57:40Speaker 1: How much did he take from that?
- 57:42Speaker 4: Brad Pitt probably got $ 20.
- 57:43Speaker 1: Golly, man.
- 57:45Speaker 2: And I don't know if it's under his plan B
- 57:48Speaker 2: production company or not, so he could also be a producer,
- 57:52Speaker 2: but I'm not sure.
- 57:53Speaker 3: You want Coming of Age? Never Have I Ever on Netflix.
- 57:57Speaker 3: You were absolutely right about it.
- 57:58Speaker 2: Coming of Age.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Coming of Age with brown girls as the leads.
- 58:04Speaker 2: That's a real movie?
- 58:05Speaker 1: Yeah. No, it was called Best of the Best. The
- 58:08Speaker 1: girl from Never Have I Ever was the lead.
- 58:10Speaker 4: On the verge.
- 58:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I watched it. Hasan Minhaj is in it.
- 58:13Speaker 2: Coming of Age?
- 58:14Speaker 1: Coming of Age. You said it was good, Kev. Yeah,
- 58:16Speaker 1: it was solid. It was like Pitch Perfect meets.
- 58:21Speaker 1: Indian and Pakistani communities.
- 58:23Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 58:24Speaker 3: Yeah. It was like Bollywood fusion dance. It was funnier
- 58:27Speaker 3: than I thought.
- 58:28Speaker 4: Okay.
- 58:29Speaker 1: I was like, oh, this is funny.
- 58:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:32Speaker 1: They got some jokes off in there.
- 58:33Speaker 3: Okay.
- 58:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it was solid.
- 58:35Speaker 1: Bad day.
- 58:35Speaker 3: All right.
- 58:37Speaker 1: Ball Brothers, Eddie Murphy next up. God bless you.
- 58:39Speaker 4: Eddie Murphy deep dive.
- 58:41Speaker 2: Eddie Murphy deep dive.
