- 0:04Speaker 1: Hey, now, it's time to catch up with Country Weekly,
- 0:08where we dive into news and gossip from the world
- 0:11of country music. I'm your host, Ken Dawkins, and I
- 0:14will be reading from various sources found online now. As
- 0:18a reminder, RADIOI is a reading service intended for people
- 0:21who are blind or have other disabilities that make it
- 0:25difficult to read printed material. We'll begin with the first article,
- 0:29dated March sixteenth, and that's from countrynow dot com. Rileygreen
- 0:36left bleeding after fan throws phone at him during a
- 0:40concert in Australia. Riley Green was left bleeding and forced
- 0:44to seek medical attention after a concert goer through a
- 0:47phone at him during a recent concert in Australia. A
- 0:51video posted to social media over the weekend captures the
- 0:54moment the incident occurred while Green was performing at Margaret
- 0:57Corderina in Melbourne. In the clip, a cell phone can
- 1:00be seen flying toward the stage from the crowd and
- 1:03striking the singer on the side of his head. Seemingly
- 1:07stunned by what had just happened, the Change My Mind
- 1:09singer stopped the show as the crowd began booing the perpetrator.
- 1:13Green asked for the house lights to be turned on
- 1:16and had security remove the individual from the venue. This
- 1:19one right here, get his fat ass out of here,
- 1:22go on, Green shouted, Blood was dripping down the side
- 1:25of his face as he thanked everyone for coming out
- 1:27to the show and joked with a crowd about what
- 1:29had just happened. I'd like to take a moment while
- 1:32I've got everybody's attention to thank it, each and every
- 1:34one of you for coming out tonight, the Alabama native said,
- 1:38hang on, am I bleeding? See how tough I am?
- 1:41Thank god he didn't have an iPhone twelve that really
- 1:43would have hurt. After the show, Green sought out medical
- 1:46attention and wound up getting a few stitches in his ear.
- 1:49Five stitches later sewed up, he shared on Instagram Stories
- 1:53alongside a photo of his injury. Later, he seemed to
- 1:56laugh off the incident by sharing a mean featuring phone
- 1:59belt holding passing these out at the door tonight, Green
- 2:02wrote over the image, Unfortunately, incidents involving fans throwing objects
- 2:07at artists have become increasingly common. In twenty twenty four,
- 2:10an unruly fan through a hat at Megan Maroney while
- 2:13she was performing. Before that Kelsey Ballerini was struck in
- 2:16the eye by a beaded bracelet during a show. She
- 2:19paused the performance as her crew checked on her, before
- 2:22addressing the situation and then continuing the concert. Moments like
- 2:26these servers a reminder throwing objects on stage can be
- 2:29dangerous for performers and crew. My opinion is just stupid.
- 2:33Riley Green kept the show going and will continue his
- 2:36run of headlining dates across Australia before returning to the
- 2:39US for his highly anticipated Cowboy As It Gets to Her,
- 2:43Featuring special guests Justin Moore in a rotating lineup of
- 2:46opening acts. The tour is set to kick off in
- 2:49April next. Laney Wilson unlesiha's untamed energy on new track
- 2:54Can't Sit Still. Laney Wilson is back with a high
- 2:58energy new track that dives straight in to the restless,
- 3:00rebellious spirit of life. Out this week via BBR Music
- 3:04Group BMG Nashville, Can't Sit Still offers fans of front
- 3:08row seat to her unfiltered thoughts and emotions, showcasing a
- 3:12wild or untamed side of the sixteen time ACM, twelve
- 3:15time CMA and Grammy Award winner. The new song, co
- 3:19written by Wilson and Trannie Anderson, Ashland, Freeland, and Dallas.
- 3:22Wilson pairs the country star's signature country grit with a driving,
- 3:26upbeat production that matches the song's untamed energy. Can't Sit
- 3:30Still captures the feeling of someone who is unable to
- 3:32sit still, refuses to be held back, and is living
- 3:35a life on their own terms. Wilson notes how even
- 3:39when she was a little kid in school, she had
- 3:40to sit on her hands to keep herself from getting
- 3:42up and dancing. Further honing in on her wild side,
- 3:46she describes herself as being an outside dog on an
- 3:48inside leash and a rain drop running down a cracked windshield.
- 3:52I ain't caught my breath since I took my first,
- 3:54so I'll guess I'll rest when I'm in the dirt.
- 3:57It's a sweet relief. It's a bitter pill. I'm an addict.
- 3:59It's a habit. I can't kill. I can't sit still.
- 4:02I can't sit still. She sings on the chorus, with
- 4:05vocals as bold as the song itself. Her signature tone
- 4:09offers both confidence and vulnerability, while conveying the restless energy
- 4:13and defiant spirit that lives within her. Every note of
- 4:16the track features a driving beat that never slows down,
- 4:19drawing listeners into a whirlwind of emotions. Along with the song,
- 4:23the Somewhere Over, Laredo' singer also introduced an edgy new look,
- 4:27which finds her dressed in a series of all black
- 4:29leather ensembles and an accompanying music video. Can't Sit Still
- 4:34perfectly mirrors Landy Wilson's own momentum in life right Now.
- 4:37Just like the song's restless energy, she constantly's on move.
- 4:41She recently made her film acting debut in Universal's adaptation
- 4:44of Colleen Hoover's Reminders of Him, and is the subject
- 4:47of a new in depth documentary titled Landy Wilson Keeping
- 4:50Country Cool, which is set to arrive April twenty second
- 4:54on Netflix. Bands can also catch Wilson taking the stage
- 4:57at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday in March twenty sixth,
- 5:01where she's nominated for Country Artists of the Year and
- 5:04Favorite Tour Tradition. Next, Tucker wet More captures the thrill
- 5:10of a secret summer romance in Sunburn, Tucker wet more
- 5:14sizzling new tracks. Sunburn captures the Heat of a beach

- 5:23A Mercury Records immerses listeners in the Thrill and Intimacy
- 5:27of a Secret Summer flaing co written by Ryan Hurd,
- 5:31Jackson Free, and Daniel Ross and produced by Chrysler Court.
- 5:35Sunbeam tells the story of someone who embarks on a
- 5:37spontaneous solo getaway with a goal of enjoying some down
- 5:40time and playing some songs on the beach. It was
- 5:43supposed to be a quick trip, but the man ends
- 5:45up staying all week after meeting someone who was worth
- 5:48sticking around for. As he illustrates in the chorus, a
- 5:51few drinks eventually turns into an all consuming heat of
- 5:54the moment rendezvous between him and a mystery girl. Though
- 5:57the pair only spend a few nights together, he had
- 6:00a midst that they're able to tune out the rest
- 6:01of the world, making it feel like we had our
- 6:03own island. The Washington Natives vocals glide effortlessly over the breezy,
- 6:08laid back instrumentation, perfectly capturing the warmth and intensity of
- 6:12a fleeting summer romance. With its mix of playful storytelling
- 6:16and heartfelt desire. Sunburn can easily be described as a carefree,
- 6:19sun soaked anthem that leaves listeners longing to feel the
- 6:22sand between their toes and the rush of a connection
- 6:25that burns with the hot summer sun. Sunburn follows the
- 6:29success of Tucker Wetmore's fan favorite track Brunette, which recently
- 6:33topped the UK Radio Country Airplay chart for three consecutive
- 6:36weeks and earned a top spot in the top fifteen
- 6:39at country radio in the US, Spawning from his debut
- 6:43album What Not To They hit also racked up more
- 6:45than two hundred and twenty five million US streams. Wetmore
- 6:50is currently heating up stages with his growing list of
- 6:52hits on the Brunette World Tour, presented by Neutral Vodka Seltzer.
- 6:57He kicked off things in February with sold out shows
- 6:59and Boss and New York, as well as his first
- 7:02ever arena headlining show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Seventeen new dates
- 7:07have since been added to the run, including shows in
- 7:09major markets such as LA Chicago and elsewhere. What Moore
- 7:14will be joined by Mattox Batsan William Beckman, George Burge,
- 7:17Jacob Hackworth, Braxton Keith and Stella Lefty for select dates. Additionally,
- 7:22he sets a head down for dates in Australia, perform
- 7:25across the UK and EU as well, including three sold
- 7:29out nights in London, and joins Jordan Davis, Hardy and
- 7:32Brooks and Dunna on tour for selected dates as well.
- 7:36Now we move over to a matt Wickstrom column called
- 7:39Sound Strategy in the March edition of Kentucky's own The
- 7:42Lane Report, how Kentucky is turning its deep musical roots
- 7:46into a powerful tourism and economic engine. Kentucky music has
- 7:50been hitting all the right notes in recent years, combining
- 7:53a rich history and abundance of present day talent with
- 7:55a variety of venues, festivals, and other stages for creators
- 7:59of all types to cut their teeth and thrive. The
- 8:02success has led various state tourism related entities, from city
- 8:05and countywide enterprises to the Kentucky Department of Tourism and
- 8:09the music venues themselves to take notice and further emphasize
- 8:12the art form as a means for attracting visitors and
- 8:15capital to the Commonwealth. One of those leaning even further
- 8:20into music by highlighting its own history. Of course, is
- 8:22Renfro Valley, arguably the state's oldest active venue and the
- 8:27former home of the Renfro Valley Barn Dance, a popular
- 8:30country music radio program, an early competitor to the Grand
- 8:33Old Opry from nineteen thirty nine until the late nineteen fifties.
- 8:38While the Dance is long gone from its old Barn theatre,
- 8:41Renfro Valley today hosts sixty to seventy shows annually inside
- 8:45its appropriately named new Barn theaterre selling over sixty thousand
- 8:49tickets last year. Marketing Renfro Valley's nine decades of history,
- 8:54familiarity and proximity to the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame
- 8:57its paramount in guiding the venue to centennial and beyond.
- 9:01According to marketing director Ashley Enniking Rouse, I've noticed a
- 9:06big movement toward a greater sense of home and nostalgia,
- 9:09and I think that's where Renfro comes in. Since we
- 9:11have eighty seven years of history to lean on here,
- 9:13Rouse said, Since we're off the beaten path, having the
- 9:16Hall of Fame next door as an advantage too. Oftentimes
- 9:19visitors will visit both of us when they're here, in
- 9:21addition to grabbing a bike to eat nearby, and in
- 9:24some cases booking a room for the night or staying
- 9:26in our RV campground on site. Another local digging into
- 9:30Kentucky musical history to draw visitors in is Owensboro, the
- 9:34western Kentucky rivertown is located less than an hour north
- 9:37of the home place of Bill Monroe, known as the
- 9:40father of the bluegrass music and calls itself the bluegrass
- 9:43music capital of the World. Owensboro is not only home
- 9:47to the genre's Hall of Fame and museum, but events
- 9:50like the Kentucky State Fiddle Championships, Kentucky Fried Picken Free
- 9:54to attend, Bluegrass Music Jam inside local holiday inn, and
- 9:58the hall's annual Rompfest, which brings more than twenty five
- 10:01thousand patrons to Yellow Creek Park on the outskirts of
- 10:04town every June. Romp, however, is not the city's most
- 10:08attended event. That mark belongs to the BBQ and Bourbon Festival,
- 10:13which lures over thirty thousand to downtown in mid May
- 10:16with a lineup of good eats over forty five distilleries
- 10:20present in live music headline this year by Chase Matthew.
- 10:23Adding to the downtown's lively rhythms our venues like Brasher's
- 10:27Little Nashville and Friday After Five, a free summertime concert
- 10:31series along the riverfront. According to the Visit O Owensboro
- 10:36president Mark Kellytree, tourism generates two hundred and forty million
- 10:40dollars for the city each year, with much of it
- 10:42in some way tapping into the region's music industry. Kellytree's
- 10:47goal is to capitalize on those connections through things like
- 10:50free shuttle service from Rompfest to the Hall of Fame
- 10:52and back during the festival to get people downtown and
- 10:56spending money there. Lexington also is tapping into the as
- 11:00while forging ahead to the future. Similar to Owensboro, the
- 11:04bustling hub of creativity not only is home to bluegrass
- 11:07music with free concert series like the Southland Jamboree, but
- 11:11also showcases the art and stories behind the music with
- 11:13syndicated programs like wood Soong's Old Time Radio Hour and
- 11:17Red Barn Radio. Additionally, festivals like Railbird, the Lexington Pride Festival, Festival,
- 11:24Latino to Lexington, and Picnic with the Pops draw tens
- 11:27of thousands of out of state visitors. A new downtown venue,
- 11:31Gatton Park, of forty five hundred person capacity outdoor Amphitheater
- 11:35adjoining the Central Bank Rupp Arena complex, is poised to
- 11:39attract even more. There are also ongoing entertainment sector projects
- 11:44like the Mixed Juice venue, the rail coming to the
- 11:46Commons this fall west of downtown, and the recent one
- 11:50hundred and fifty million dollar donation from the Bill Gatton
- 11:52Foundation to the University of Kentucky will build a state
- 11:56of the arts district for the College of Fine Arts
- 11:58on South Broadway. If Lexington is a festival hub, then
- 12:02Louisville is an epicenter leading the pack or the Danny
- 12:06Wimmer Presents produced multi day Bourbon and Beyond and Louder
- 12:09than Life events whose dozens of rock acts bring in throngs.
- 12:13Last year, Whim Presents reached an agreement to remain in
- 12:17the city through two thousand thirty five. Together, they take
- 12:20over two weeks in September and cumulatively have more attendees
- 12:25than Louisville's marquee event, the Kentucky Derby, amping up a
- 12:28combined economic impact of more than thirty eight million dollars annually.
- 12:33Between the two there is eight days of music, with
- 12:35each being award winning in their own rights. At Roseanne Maston,
- 12:39Louisville Tourisms, Communications and Public Affairs Manager, Bourbon and Beyond
- 12:44combines three of our tourism pillars, Music, Bourbon and Food
- 12:48and was recently named Pollstars to twenty twenty five Music
- 12:52Festival of the Year, Whereas Louder Than Life is projected
- 12:55to have in attendance of over two hundred and sixty
- 12:57five thousand across its four days, but Louisville's Roots Music
- 13:03Roots That Is run much deeper than those two mega festivals.
- 13:06The Kentucky Derby Festival has daily music performances, as does
- 13:10food gathering Chow Wagon at Waterfront Park, the Sky Sooul Festival,
- 13:14and the Lougrass and Waterfront Wednesday's Concert Series, the latter
- 13:18of which has hosted everyone from in state performers like
- 13:21Ben Solee and My Morning Jacket to rootsy power players
- 13:25Todd Snyder, The Avid Brothers and Old Crow Medicine Show
- 13:29over in Matt's Kentucky Music News and Notes columns, Sleeping
- 13:33in the Woods Songwriter Festival has announced the lineup for
- 13:36its fourth annual gathering in Montcello, scheduled from May fifteenth
- 13:40through the sixteenth, set to perform of the local Honeys,
- 13:43Aaron Raider, Ben Chapman and Nicholas Jamerson, among others. The
- 13:48Lexington Music Awards has unveiled the nominees for its twelfth
- 13:51annual celebration. Highlights for the March eighth ceremony at the
- 13:55Singletary included Abbey Hamilton, The Creakers and Bte Taylor up
- 13:59for Song of the Year, Bedfords, Cole Cheney and Nicholas
- 14:02Jamerson was in the running for Album of the Year.
- 14:04We don't have the results here. Laurel Cove Music Festival
- 14:07has announced its twenty twenty six lineup set to headline
- 14:10the Picturesque event from the June eleventh through thirteenth our
- 14:13Evan Honer, The Creakers and Cassius Culpepper, with over twenty
- 14:17five others joining them. The Doughnut Dungeon in All Ages
- 14:22concert venue in Lexington was shut down by the city
- 14:24back in January for not being up to code. Since then,
- 14:27the upstart venue is raised over eleven thousand dollars to
- 14:30fund the necessary repairs In the meantime, it's also continuing
- 14:34to produce shows at the Jukebox Bar and Lounge until
- 14:37they get the go ahead to reopen. Tyler Childers earned
- 14:41as long awaited first Grammy as We Know at the
- 14:43sixty eighth edition of the awards on February first, for
- 14:46his song biten List, and he wasn't the only one
- 14:49to come away victorious. As we may remember, Chris Stapleton
- 14:52also came away on top, netting his twelfth trophy for
- 14:55Best Country Solo Performance as Bad As I Used to Be.
- 15:00Tyler Booth has signed a joint venture agreement with Jamie
- 15:02Johnson's label Big Guest Records and Average Joe's Entertainment, and Richmond,
- 15:07Kentucky based singer Eric Bolander has signed on with The
- 15:10Farm Music Management, which is also home to fellow Kentuckians
- 15:14Bill Taylor, Emily Jamerson, and Tim Gooden. Now we move
- 15:19on over to Lehigh Valleylive dot com. Country music star
- 15:24has quit touring at forty and has no idea how
- 15:27he will make money. This stated March fourteenth. Chase Rice
- 15:31made headlines when he announced earlier that he was walking
- 15:34away from touring at forty and the country music star
- 15:37has since opened up more about the situation, and Ryce
- 15:40said he has big time fears he goes on hiatus
- 15:43the fear while he told Rolling Stone that he has
- 15:45no idea how he's going to make money. It's scary
- 15:48not knowing where your money's going to come from. But
- 15:50it's a fun thing to be in a place where
- 15:52you're not making what you usually make and you're still
- 15:54content with it. Rice said that just assures you that
- 15:57it's the right move. I have zero plans of going
- 16:00going back to any of the more pop stuff. I'm
- 16:02going to keep making the style of music that I
- 16:04make now on guitar and pray for the best. Well.
- 16:07He's unsure of what the future may look like. Rice
- 16:09is clear that he doesn't expect it to look anything
- 16:12like the past. It was earlier this year, probably around September,
- 16:15he told Rolling Stone about when he began leaning toward
- 16:18the decision. I was l hunting, and I just really
- 16:21didn't want to go back. I wanted to stay out
- 16:22in Montana. Throughout the fall. I kept doing shows, but
- 16:25I was like, this is not right. I'm not excited
- 16:28to get on stage anymore. Everything felt wrong. So I
- 16:31had a conversation with management and my agent and was like, Wow,
- 16:34we're really going to do this. I'm going to step
- 16:36away until I feel like i want to do it again. Well.
- 16:40He announced the move away from touring. He told Rolling
- 16:42Stone that none of his scheduled shows are being canceled
- 16:45and in fact, he is not taking a break from music.
- 16:48It's just a break from touring. He said, I'll probably
- 16:50never tour like I did again, and financially, this is
- 16:53not your best decision because if you're doing eighty shows
- 16:56over one year, you're not doing it because you're making
- 16:58a million dollars a night for me. Anyway, You're doing
- 17:01it because it's a business. You've got to cover your expenses.
- 17:04So I'll never do that again. But creatively, I'm planning
- 17:07on writing my ass off. There won't be any album
- 17:10this year, I know that, but I'm really looking forward
- 17:12to slowing down seeing what we can create. Chase Rice
- 17:15announced that he was stepping away from touring on social
- 17:17media back in January. Now we take a peek at
- 17:21Pennlivepatriotnews dot com. Country music and television icon dead at
- 17:25eighty one. Blake Emmons, a country music icon in television
- 17:29personality has died. According to multiple reports, he was eighty one. Emmons,
- 17:35whose real name was Bruce Mackenzie, was a native of Toronto,
- 17:38and he made his name in Canada beginning in the
- 17:39nineteen seventies. It's difficult to find the right words this morning,
- 17:43John Tessione wrote on Facebook. I was deeply sad to
- 17:47learn our friend Blake Emmons had passed. Blake was one
- 17:49of those rare people whose presence lifted others up. Many
- 17:53of us in the veteran community knew him as a mentor,
- 17:55a supporter, and a steady voice of encouragement. He had
- 17:58a way of reaching out exacts actly the right moment,
- 18:01reminding you that you weren't alone and that someone had
- 18:03your back. Tession said he met Emmons through the Wounded
- 18:07Warrior's Weekend community. I was struck by his generosity of
- 18:10spirit and his genuine care for people around him. The
- 18:13number of veterans and first responders he helped over the
- 18:15years as impossible to count, but the impact he made
- 18:18will live on in every one of us. Men like
- 18:21Blake leave a mark that doesn't fade. He was an
- 18:24amazing storyteller, a great singer, and someone who could always
- 18:26make you laugh when you needed it most. His kindness
- 18:29and the impact he had on so many lives will
- 18:31never be forgotten, according to Jessica Marco, who wrote in Facebook,
- 18:35he will make the world or he did make the
- 18:37world a better place. Emmons hosted the CTV series Funny Farm,
- 18:42which was billed as Canada's answer to heathaw Back in
- 18:45nineteen seventy four. He also hosted The Country Place in
- 18:48the nineteen seventies, and he hosted the game show Chain
- 18:51Reaction in nineteen eighty five. Emmons was known for his
- 18:55charitable contributions too. He hosted the Act telethon for Camp
- 18:59he ho Oh for disabled children in the nineteen seventies,
- 19:03and late in the decade he helped develop the Tell
- 19:05Miracle telethon. Now we take a look at a March
- 19:09fifteenth story from Saving Country Music, Miranda Lambert, Casey Musgraves
- 19:14and Long Feud via New Song. For years, rumors swirled
- 19:19about a smoldering feud between Miranda Lambert and Casey Musgraves,
- 19:23though there was never any hard and fast confirmations. Both
- 19:26women are from small town East Texas, with Musgraves hailing
- 19:29from Mineola and Miranda from Lyndale, which are only about
- 19:32twelve miles and twelve minutes apart. Lamberta happens to be
- 19:36about five years Casey's senior. They also shared a close
- 19:40musical connection early on. Casey's grandmother was one of her
- 19:43biggest fans when Musgraves was growing up and worked as
- 19:46her booking agent. Missus Barber, as she was known, also
- 19:49helped out Miranda Lambert early on and specifically told Lambert's
- 19:53parents about auditions in Dallas for the New Nashville Stars
- 19:56Show where Miranda appeared in two thousand and three. That
- 20:00audition eventually led to Miranda Lambert's career taking off, but
- 20:04it was in some Texas rivalry where Miranda Lambert and
- 20:07Casey Musgraves found friction. It actually had to do with
- 20:10the song Mama's Broken Heart, a song Miranda Lambert recorded
- 20:14for her twenty eleven album for the Record and released
- 20:17as a single in twenty thirteen. The song reached number
- 20:21two on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. It also
- 20:24happens to be written by Casey Musgraves along with Brandy
- 20:27Clark and Shane Mcinally, when Casey Musgraves wrote the song,
- 20:32she was a professional songwriter signed to publishing deals, but
- 20:35was not yet trying to become a professional singer. She
- 20:38saw Mama's Broken Heart as her potential breakout single, but
- 20:42unbeknownst to her, the song got pitched to Miranda, who
- 20:44fell in love with it and wanted to cut it
- 20:47because Lambert was the big star and Musgraves were just
- 20:49a writer. Miranda ended up getting her way, and Musgraves
- 20:53ended up making a grudge. Musgraves recently spoke to Julie
- 20:56Height of NPR about her upcoming album Middle of No Wah,
- 21:00and for the first time spoke in depth about the feud.
- 21:04It was two singers from two nearby, small Texas towns.
- 21:08There's a lot that comes with that, and we each
- 21:10take our own different paths, both leading us to Nashville
- 21:13at different times. There was all this excitement behind mom
- 21:16Has Broken Heart. For me, it was going to be
- 21:18my first single, and I loved the song so much.
- 21:20I had been a staff writer for years at that point,
- 21:23writing for other people, and it finally felt like I
- 21:25was collecting songs that felt like me that I didn't
- 21:28want to pitch to anyone else. Musgraves also said that
- 21:32she had to consider her co writers Brandy Clark and
- 21:34Shane mcinally when conceding to the single to Miranda. The
- 21:38success of the song really helped launch all three of
- 21:40their careers, and as Musgraves explains, losing Mama's Broken Heart
- 21:44opened up another song to her breakout and it helped
- 21:47distinguish Musgraves as not just another country singer from Texas.
- 21:51I knew I would have to go back to the
- 21:53drawing board, Musgraves said, and ultimately I'm really glad that
- 21:56I did, because it forced me to write Merry Go Round,
- 21:59which ended up making making me more sense, way more
- 22:01sense for me anyway, esthetically and lyrically, to kick my
- 22:04whole thing off. So in the end everyone won because
- 22:07I was able to let go of something. This all
- 22:10leads to the fact that on the new Casey Musgraves
- 22:12album there is a song called Horses and Divorces featuring
- 22:15Miranda Lambert. According to Musgraves, one day she was scrolling
- 22:19through Instagram and saw Miranda riding a horse. Well, we
- 22:22ain't friends, but I guess we have two things in common.
- 22:25Horses and divorces, that's for sure. Wait, that could be
- 22:28just really a funny song. What if it's a duet
- 22:30with her? What if I got her to write on it. See,
- 22:33Casey said to herself, I just randomly reached out to
- 22:36her and I was like, I know we've had our
- 22:38stuff over the years, but listen, we've got at least
- 22:40two things in common. Miranda Lambert, of course divorced fellow
- 22:45country star Blake Shelton in twenty fifteen, and Casey Musgraves
- 22:48was once married a songwriter Rustin Kelly, who she divorced
- 22:51in twenty twenty. Musk Graves and Lambert then decided to
- 22:55get Shane McAnally involved in the writing of the song
- 22:58to create a full circle moment, and Horses and Divorces
- 23:01was born. I think it could be also a micro
- 23:04representation of what I wish the world would do sometimes
- 23:07just sit down and poke fun at each other, have
- 23:09a beer and call it a day, Musgraves says. And
- 23:14finally we head over to the boot dot com with
- 23:16the first article dated March eighteenth, Luke Combs has one
- 23:20promise for his kids, accept them no matter what. Luke
- 23:24Comb's on one of his most personal songs to mean
- 23:27something to parents everywhere. The country superstar recently reflected on
- 23:31his track Whoever You turn Out to Be, explaining that
- 23:34the message behind it is simple, a parent's love shouldn't
- 23:36come with conditions. In a chat with g Q Hype,
- 23:40Coombs opened up about the inspiration behind the song and
- 23:43why he hopes it resonates with families navigating all kinds
- 23:46of life paths. Coombs wrote Whoever You turn Out to
- 23:49Be for his children as power of his Fathers and
- 23:52Sons album. The song serves as a promise that his
- 23:55love won't depend on who they become or what direction
- 23:58their lives take. Look, I'd love my kids to be
- 24:01super into deer hunting and go with me all the time,
- 24:03Combs said, But if my kid wants to live in
- 24:05Soho and be an abstract painter, then hey, that sounds
- 24:08great too. Can't wait to come up and go to
- 24:10the gallery for Colms. The point is simple. He doesn't
- 24:14expect his kids to follow in his footsteps. I don't
- 24:17need my kids to be anything, he explained. I'm not
- 24:19trying to fill some hole in myself with them. The
- 24:22emotional weight of the song has even caught Comb's off
- 24:24guard during live performances. During a set at the Newport
- 24:28Folk Festival last summer. The singer became visibly emotional while
- 24:31performing the track. Fan shot video shows Combs pausing after
- 24:35singing the lyric but you ain't going to change the
- 24:37world to make your daddy proud. He wiped his face
- 24:40with a towel before finishing the song as the crowd
- 24:42cheered him on. Sorry, he told the audience, that got
- 24:45me a little bit. A moment later, he added with
- 24:48a laugh, I remember why we don't play that one
- 24:50very much. The message behind the song carries even more
- 24:53weight these days. Colmbs and his wife Nicole recently welcomed
- 24:56their third son, Chet Willie. That's probably Chet Wiley. The
- 24:59couple is also parents to Text Lawrence and bow Lee. Next,
- 25:04Kelly Clarkson channels Tanya Tucker with surprise Rodeo Houston cover.
- 25:10Kelly Clarkson reminded country fans exactly where she came from
- 25:13during a standout moment at Rodeo Houston. The Texas native
- 25:17took the stage as part of the Rodeo Star Pack
- 25:19concert lineup and delivered a performance that leaned into her
- 25:22country roots, including a powerful cover of Tanya Tucker's It's
- 25:25a Little Too Late. The crowd didn't need much convincing.
- 25:29Clarkson's take on the classic hit quickly became one of
- 25:31the most talked about moments of the night. Rodeo Houston
- 25:35has been packed with big names this year, including Cody Johnson,
- 25:38Chris Stapleton, Riley Green, and Megan Maroney, but Clarkson carved
- 25:42out her own moment by reaching back into country music history.
- 25:46Originally recorded by Tanya Tucker, It's a Little Too Late
- 25:48became one of a singer's signature songs, climbing to number
- 25:51two on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. The track tells
- 25:55the story of someone stuck in a relationship they know
- 25:58they should leave, only to realize it's already gone too far.
- 26:02Clarkson didn't just cover the song, she brought a fresh
- 26:04edge to it, blending her powerhouse vocals with the grit
- 26:07that made the original a country staple. While Carlson has
- 26:11spent years dominating pop and daytime television, moments like this
- 26:15are reminder her deep connection to country music before her
- 26:19crossover success. She grew up in Texas surrounded by country sounds,
- 26:22something that still shows up in performances like this one,
- 26:25and with a major life shift on the horizon, fans
- 26:28may be seeing more of that side of her again.
- 26:31Clarkson recently announced she'll be stepping away from The Kelly
- 26:33Clarkson Show after its current season. The decision, she said,
- 26:37comes down to family. I want to prioritize my kids
- 26:40which feels necessary and write for this next chapter of
- 26:43our lives. The keeping score singer shared at the time,
- 26:46clarks and his mom to daughter River eleven and son
- 26:48Remington nine, whom she shared with her former husband and
- 26:51manager Brandon Blackstock. He died last year after a battle
- 26:55with melanoma. If her Rodeo Houston performance is any indication
- 27:00back from daytime TV doesn't mean stepping away from the stage. Next,
- 27:05Comedian Burt Kreischer's tour bus destroyed by interstate fire. Burt Kreiser,
- 27:10popular comedian with connections to country music, suffered the total
- 27:13loss of his tour bus on the interstate in Minnesota
- 27:16over the weekend. Fortunately, everyone on board the bus made
- 27:19it off safely, but the vehicle went up in flames
- 27:22along the highway, burning down to the frame. Crusher showed
- 27:26the shocking extent of the damage, and a photo shared
- 27:28to social media, writing We're all safe, but my bus
- 27:30is gone. According to North Dakota station kvor R, Crusher
- 27:35departed his most recent tour, stop and Fargo, North Dakota
- 27:38on Saturday night. Somewhere in Minnesota. Just after midnight on Sunday,
- 27:42the bus blew a tire. Krusher documented that on social media,
- 27:46saying the incident was pretty scary and that they were
- 27:48stranded on the side of the highway in a snowstorm.
- 27:51The blown tire felt like bad luck at the time,
- 27:53but it actually might have saved everyone's lives. The Eventually
- 27:56it led to or decided to leave and split the
- 27:59crew into two other buses in order to keep traveling
- 28:01to Crusher's next show and cedar Rapids. That meant only
- 28:05the driver was on board when at about eleven a m.
- 28:07On Sunday morning, the bus caught fire and started filling
- 28:10with smoke. He was able to depart safely. Bert Krusher's
- 28:14a popular stand up comedian and podcaster. He has recorded
- 28:16several Netflix specials In television comedies, he has strong ties
- 28:20to country music. Recently, he co hosted twenty twenty five
- 28:23New Year's Eve special Nashville's Big Bash with Hardy. He's
- 28:26also good friends with Jelly Rowland helped encourage the singer's
- 28:29weight loss journey. Well, this concludes the reading of Country
