- 0:02Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome.
- 0:05Speaker 1: It is time now for Car Talk with the Dungeons
- 0:09Speaker 1: Toyota folks, and one of them I haven't seen in.
- 0:11Speaker 2: A while here. Boy, it's great to have you back.
- 0:14Speaker 2: How are you doing, William? I'm good.
- 0:16Speaker 3: How are you doing?
- 0:16Speaker 2: Doing superior. You brought a friend. Yes, I did.
- 0:19Speaker 3: I brought Michelle.
- 0:20Speaker 4: She's one of our most experienced salespeople at the Dungeons team,
- 0:24Speaker 4: so welcome. When Brad told me he was going to
- 0:26Speaker 4: be at the Toyota meeting for this week's talk and
- 0:29Speaker 4: he needed me to come in, I turned to her
- 0:31Speaker 4: and said, come on in.
- 0:33Speaker 2: So Brad gets all the fun.
- 0:34Speaker 1: He gets to go see the new stuff, and then
- 0:36Speaker 1: he can't talk about it for a little bit.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 0:39Speaker 4: He's out there talking about flying cars and robots and
- 0:43Speaker 4: stuff like that, learning about the future, and we're stuck
- 0:46Speaker 4: just with the.
- 0:47Speaker 3: The typical cars today, which luckily still get us from
- 0:50Speaker 3: A to B.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Well, you know, even if it flies, you'll be able
- 0:52Speaker 1: to let everybody know how they work, don't you?
- 0:55Speaker 5: Exactly, exactly.
- 0:56Speaker 2: That's what experience does.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right.
- 0:58Speaker 4: I will say, out of everybody we have at the dealership,
- 1:00Speaker 4: if you have any technological issues, Michelle is the one
- 1:04Speaker 4: to turn to.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Oh, good.
- 1:05Speaker 3: She's very good with that stuff.
- 1:06Speaker 2: I'm not very technically savvy.
- 1:09Speaker 1: But I tell you what, the vehicles that we see today,
- 1:11Speaker 1: they have all kinds of things to keep you safe.
- 1:13Speaker 2: And that... for a person my age, is really just
- 1:17Speaker 2: money in the bank.
- 1:18Speaker 5: Yes, yes, very much so.
- 1:19Speaker 2: So what do we got going on today?
- 1:21Speaker 4: So basically we just, I wanted to bring Michelle on,
- 1:24Speaker 4: kind of talk to her about her experience at Dungeons.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Like I said, she's worked for us for quite a
- 1:30Speaker 4: while in a couple different stints. But, you know, I
- 1:33Speaker 4: just wanted to kind of start with, you know, what
- 1:37Speaker 4: brought you to Dungeons initially?
- 1:39Speaker 6: Well, I had sold furniture for years. Loved selling furniture.
- 1:43Speaker 6: Had a lot of people tell me, you need to
- 1:45Speaker 6: get into the car business. So it came about that
- 1:47Speaker 6: I needed a job. So I was like, you know,
- 1:51Speaker 6: a big Toyota fan. Didn't know a lot about Ford
- 1:54Speaker 6: at the time, and we had the Ford side. You know,
- 1:56Speaker 6: Dunges had the Ford side. So I was like, I'm
- 1:58Speaker 6: going to go to Dunges. They've been in town forever. Like,
- 2:01Speaker 6: that's the most trusted name in town. So that's where
- 2:03Speaker 6: I'm going to go. And sure enough, got hired on
- 2:05Speaker 6: the spot.
- 2:06Speaker 5: And, you know, yep. Then I was over on the
- 2:09Speaker 5: Ford side, so I had to kind of learn about Ford's.
- 2:12Speaker 6: I was worried about selling trucks. It ended up not
- 2:15Speaker 6: being a problem. Sold more trucks probably than anything.
- 2:18Speaker 2: And now you sell a lot of Toyota trucks. Oh, yes.
- 2:20Speaker 2: And they're great.
- 2:21Speaker 5: Oh, I love Toyotas. I drive a Toyota myself.
- 2:24Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm on my, like, fifth Camry.
- 2:26Speaker 6: So, yeah.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Toyota's always been in her heart. She loves her Camrys.
- 2:30Speaker 4: And she's always telling me the day she wins the lottery,
- 2:33Speaker 4: she's coming in buying five more.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Exactly. Exactly.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 2:37Speaker 3: So, yeah.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:41Speaker 4: You know, the Camry story that you were telling me earlier,
- 2:43Speaker 4: I asked her about her Camry before we came on
- 2:45Speaker 4: and how she ended up getting it. And it's an
- 2:47Speaker 4: interesting story because it kind of goes back to COVID
- 2:50Speaker 4: times when there was less inventory.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Do you kind of want to talk about that a
- 2:54Speaker 3: little bit?
- 2:54Speaker 5: Yes, yes, definitely.
- 2:56Speaker 6: So I had had another vehicle and had been driving
- 3:02Speaker 6: a Camry before that and then was in another vehicle.
- 3:05Speaker 6: Didn't like it as much, decided I was going to
- 3:06Speaker 6: get back in Camrys.
- 3:07Speaker 5: Well, it was right after COVID. No inventory whatsoever. Looked everywhere.
- 3:12Speaker 5: First place I look is on Dunge's website. Didn't see one.
- 3:15Speaker 5: Looked other places. Didn't see one. So still knew a
- 3:17Speaker 5: lot of the people working at Dunge's.
- 3:19Speaker 6: So I called a salesperson up there that I was
- 3:21Speaker 6: friends with and was like, look, I'm looking for a Camry.
- 3:24Speaker 5: And she was like. girl, we are taking one off
- 3:26Speaker 5: the truck right now. And I was like, sold. It's mine.
- 3:30Speaker 2: It's mine.
- 3:31Speaker 3: You're the one.
- 3:32Speaker 2: You're the one that sent a check when the tire
- 3:34Speaker 2: hit the asphalt.
- 3:35Speaker 6: Yes.
- 3:35Speaker 4: Wow.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Yes.
- 3:36Speaker 5: I don't even think it ever went to us.
- 3:37Speaker 6: I was telling him I don't think it ever even
- 3:38Speaker 6: went to detail because I was working it a couple
- 3:41Speaker 6: doors down.
- 3:42Speaker 5: They brought it down to me, and they never got
- 3:44Speaker 5: it back.
- 3:45Speaker 3: On our way over here, I was like, I guess
- 3:47Speaker 3: we still owe you a detail.
- 3:48Speaker 4: So when we get back to the dealership, we'll be
- 3:51Speaker 4: giving Michelle a free detail on our car.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Hey, I'll take it. I'll take it.
- 3:55Speaker 4: They do.
- 3:55Speaker 5: Our detail shop does a great job. They really do.
- 3:58Speaker 5: They really do.
- 3:59Speaker 3: They've been doing awesome lately.
- 4:01Speaker 4: And, you know, that kind of walks me into the
- 4:03Speaker 4: next thing. You know, we're always looking for cars. During COVID,
- 4:06Speaker 4: it was even bigger than now. You know, now, luckily,
- 4:08Speaker 4: we do have a steady flow of inventory that wasn't there.
- 4:11Speaker 4: And so we're always looking for cars. And I know
- 4:13Speaker 4: Michelle has... got a couple people that coming into the
- 4:16Speaker 4: dealership that are asking for used vehicles so people out
- 4:20Speaker 4: there with any used car you're looking to sell definitely
- 4:23Speaker 4: give us a call we have an acquisition specialist michelle's
- 4:26Speaker 4: daughter right now is actually looking for a used uh
- 4:30Speaker 4: camry camry or corolla so if you do have a
- 4:33Speaker 4: camry or corolla currently definitely give us a call we'd
- 4:37Speaker 4: love to purchase it from you to help michelle's daughter
- 4:39Speaker 4: out and get into a new vehicle But similarly, if
- 4:42Speaker 4: you're looking for a used car you don't see on
- 4:44Speaker 4: our lot, especially Toyotas, definitely give us a call.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 4:49Speaker 4: Michelle would be happy to get with Noah. They work
- 4:51Speaker 4: really well together. He's our acquisition specialist. So he'll be
- 4:57Speaker 4: able to coordinate, you know, finding a vehicle off our
- 4:59Speaker 4: service drive or whatever. you know, somewhere else in the
- 5:02Speaker 4: state for sale, um, that'll fit your needs used or new. Um,
- 5:06Speaker 4: and Michelle then will be able to help you get
- 5:08Speaker 4: into that vehicle.
- 5:09Speaker 1: So it's amazing how greatly connected you are for being
- 5:13Speaker 1: a standalone family owned business that does so well over
- 5:17Speaker 1: punches its weight.
- 5:18Speaker 2: I might add in the numbers show it too.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Uh, but you're, you're so connected with everyone in the
- 5:23Speaker 1: area and in the U S you can find what
- 5:26Speaker 1: they're looking for.
- 5:27Speaker 3: For sure.
- 5:27Speaker 4: And you know, even, You know, one of the best
- 5:30Speaker 4: stories of the connection, the Dungeons connection that I actually
- 5:33Speaker 4: just had to happen to me yesterday was we had
- 5:37Speaker 4: a person that called in from they had bought at
- 5:41Speaker 4: a different dealership. They're located in the OKC area. And
- 5:44Speaker 4: they reached out to us because they had gone into
- 5:47Speaker 4: the dealership and paid maybe a little bit more of
- 5:50Speaker 4: the fees that, you know, we don't quite partake in
- 5:53Speaker 4: the same as other dealerships, the dock fees, the, you know,
- 5:56Speaker 4: add on fees. And the reason they called us was
- 5:59Speaker 4: they actually went to high school with my uncle. And
- 6:02Speaker 4: she goes, I wish I had slowed down and looked
- 6:04Speaker 4: a little bit longer. I just saw that on the lot.
- 6:07Speaker 4: And that's one thing I love about here is we're
- 6:09Speaker 4: able to help people out without having that stuff. And
- 6:12Speaker 4: that's one thing I think Michelle really embodies is she
- 6:15Speaker 4: really– you know, cares about her customers and she's not
- 6:19Speaker 4: going to be pushy trying to force you into a
- 6:21Speaker 4: car that doesn't make sense for you, but she will
- 6:23Speaker 4: go out and work hard to locate a vehicle for you.
- 6:26Speaker 1: One thing that impresses me about you and your personality
- 6:29Speaker 1: is that you're not really there to sell me a car.
- 6:33Speaker 1: You're there to make sure that I'm fit with The
- 6:36Speaker 1: best car.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Yes, yes. And the next car.
- 6:39Speaker 6: Yes.
- 6:39Speaker 2: And the next car.
- 6:40Speaker 1: You're playing with people to the point, with the idea
- 6:45Speaker 1: in mind that you're here for them.
- 6:47Speaker 6: Yes, yes.
- 6:49Speaker 5: I'm not in sales.
- 6:49Speaker 6: I never got in sales to try to make the
- 6:52Speaker 6: most money or anything like that.
- 6:53Speaker 5: I have a love of helping people. That's what I
- 6:55Speaker 5: want to do.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Making good fits.
- 6:57Speaker 5: Yes, yes, definitely.
- 6:58Speaker 6: And making sure that they're happy and they know what
- 7:00Speaker 6: they've got when they leave, you know.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Wow, that's great. That is just awesome. That fits into
- 7:06Speaker 1: your guys' whole philosophy.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Oh, it definitely does because we see Michelle. She'll go
- 7:10Speaker 4: out all the time, and like I said, there will
- 7:13Speaker 4: be people that bought cars, had cars for years, bought
- 7:17Speaker 4: cars elsewhere, and they'll come in and they'll say, hey,
- 7:19Speaker 4: we're having issues with this issue with our car technologically-wise.
- 7:23Speaker 3: How do I fix this?
- 7:24Speaker 4: And she'll go out and she'll spend an hour showing
- 7:27Speaker 4: them how to do it. That is probably one of
- 7:30Speaker 4: the best things about having somebody because it's I'm not
- 7:33Speaker 4: that good with the technology either. And Michelle is definitely
- 7:37Speaker 4: a technology expert. And, you know, times that our other
- 7:40Speaker 4: salespeople get stuck, she's jumping up and.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Helping them out.
- 7:43Speaker 2: You are the expert.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Good to have her on.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Maybe it comes from driving a Camry. You know, you're
- 7:49Speaker 4: used to that and you've.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Been in a lot of the other ones.
- 7:51Speaker 4: So I do know there was one car on the
- 7:54Speaker 4: lot that was catching your eye.
- 7:56Speaker 5: Oh, I love that Wintrell Pearl White Tacoma. It's limited.
- 8:00Speaker 3: It is beautiful.
- 8:02Speaker 6: Every time I see it out there with the sun
- 8:03Speaker 6: just shining on it, looking like a.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Pearl, yeah. You and I are looking at the same one.
- 8:10Speaker 4: It's a beautiful vehicle, and Toyota's really focused on the
- 8:13Speaker 4: trucks right now. With the college football starting, they're doing college,
- 8:18Speaker 4: or game day is their big sales event right now,
- 8:20Speaker 4: and it's really focused on Tundras and Tacomas. And like
- 8:24Speaker 4: she was saying, we've got the beautiful white limited Tacoma
- 8:28Speaker 4: out there. We also have another limited Tacoma in this
- 8:31Speaker 4: really cool color called Bronze Oxide.
- 8:33Speaker 2: I've got to see that.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a funky one. It's a really interesting color.
- 8:37Speaker 4: But I do, I love it. And the interior, it's
- 8:39Speaker 4: got a light interior.
- 8:40Speaker 3: It's really, really nice.
- 8:42Speaker 4: And then we've got a couple Tundras out there as well, including,
- 8:45Speaker 4: if you're an OU fan like me and Michelle, a
- 8:49Speaker 4: OU Red Capstone Tundra.
- 8:52Speaker 3: It is absolutely magnificent. So it's a really nice one.
- 8:56Speaker 5: Just need the OU tag on the front.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 8:59Speaker 3: So maybe not for our OSU fans.
- 9:02Speaker 4: We're working on getting an orange Tacoma for them, but
- 9:05Speaker 4: for our OU fans, that one's ready to go.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Very good.
- 9:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:08Speaker 3: So that's exciting.
- 9:10Speaker 4: And so, yeah, like I said, lots of good deals
- 9:13Speaker 4: on those right now on the Tacoma or on the Tundras,
- 9:16Speaker 4: we have 2.9 all the way up to 72 months,
- 9:19Speaker 4: which I know we've had a couple or quite a
- 9:22Speaker 4: few Tundra customers this month, um, that we've been dealing with.
- 9:25Speaker 1: So that's an outstanding rate. You can't get that anywhere,
- 9:29Speaker 1: but through you guys.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Yeah, no, right now we've been seeing, you know, rates
- 9:33Speaker 4: have been pretty steady lately at that five ish percent.
- 9:37Speaker 4: And you know, that is the Tundras. And then also
- 9:40Speaker 4: our electric vehicles right now are the ones that you're
- 9:42Speaker 4: going to really see those super aggressive rates on. Um,
- 9:46Speaker 4: and if you're looking used right now, we do have
- 9:48Speaker 4: quite a few used certified vehicles. Um, My uncle Bruce
- 9:51Speaker 4: has really stepped up with the certified, and those also
- 9:55Speaker 4: do get a better rate than your typical used vehicle.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Really good stuff.
- 10:01Speaker 5: And I list all of our pre-owned inventory on Marketplace
- 10:04Speaker 5: as well.
- 10:04Speaker 2: We do? Okay.
- 10:06Speaker 4: That's one thing Michelle specializes in as well is Marketplace.
- 10:10Speaker 4: So if you're ever looking on Marketplace for a vehicle
- 10:13Speaker 4: and you see a vehicle at Dunge's, make sure you
- 10:15Speaker 4: reach out to Michelle. Um, she's the one that's got
- 10:18Speaker 4: it on there and you can always just shoot her
- 10:19Speaker 4: a message on marketplace and confirm availability and everything.
- 10:22Speaker 2: You're connected. Yes.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Uh, so do you have any on marketplace right now
- 10:29Speaker 4: that are, you know, really standing out?
- 10:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:32Speaker 6: Um, well, uh, the infinity I've gotten, I've gotten some,
- 10:37Speaker 6: some traction on the infinity and of course the Shelby.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Yes.
- 10:41Speaker 5: Shelby gets a lot right now.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:43Speaker 4: We currently have a shelby mustang that i know michelle
- 10:46Speaker 4: is getting blown up on facebook over so if you
- 10:50Speaker 4: are looking for a shelby mustang you better move quickly
- 10:52Speaker 4: because michelle has got a couple people working on it
- 10:56Speaker 4: and just putting together the final little bit there but
- 10:59Speaker 4: it is a popular facebook car yeah so yeah you
- 11:02Speaker 4: know you can find our inventory on facebook she also
- 11:05Speaker 4: just We posted yesterday the TRD Pro Sequoia that we
- 11:09Speaker 4: got in.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Sequoia, yes, in the Ocean Wave.
- 11:11Speaker 6: That is really, it's pretty, yes.
- 11:14Speaker 5: And it's our third vehicle we've got in in the
- 11:16Speaker 5: Ocean Wave.
- 11:17Speaker 6: So we did have a TRD Pro Tacoma that came
- 11:19Speaker 6: in and a TRD Pro 4Runner that came in in
- 11:22Speaker 6: both those colors, and those went quick. I mean, well,
- 11:24Speaker 6: the 4Runner, it was pre-sold before it even hit the lot.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I bet it was. Which we see a lot of, yeah.
- 11:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Four runners and ramp fours just escape, don't they?
- 11:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:35Speaker 2: But there it goes. Got a new home already.
- 11:38Speaker 3: How do you like that?
- 11:39Speaker 5: How long will it take us to sell?
- 11:43Speaker 2: Oh, well. See you for the oil change.
- 11:46Speaker 4: That's what we love about Toyota is they get there,
- 11:49Speaker 4: they're gone, and then you don't see them until the
- 11:51Speaker 4: oil changes, and hopefully you don't really see them come
- 11:54Speaker 4: back until 100,000, 150,000 miles.
- 11:55Speaker 3: There you go. Yeah, no, they're great vehicles. I just
- 11:59Speaker 3: actually switched into a RAV4 personally.
- 12:02Speaker 2: You'll never get out of it.
- 12:04Speaker 3: That's what I'm concerned about.
- 12:05Speaker 4: I like my new vehicles, but this one's probably the
- 12:09Speaker 4: best one I've been in so far. It drives really well,
- 12:12Speaker 4: and similar to Michelle's love for a Camry, I'm starting
- 12:15Speaker 4: to fall in love with it.
- 12:17Speaker 2: There's a whole lot to love about those RAV4s.
- 12:20Speaker 1: I'll tell you, I worked in a television station when
- 12:23Speaker 1: the RAV4s were fairly new. And we switched over to those.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Our cameras and everything became a lot more compact. They weren't,
- 12:29Speaker 1: you know, big old junk hunk of luggers that you
- 12:33Speaker 1: had to take all over the place like a lumberjack.
- 12:35Speaker 2: And with that, we thought that those vehicles look so sharp.
- 12:42Speaker 2: It would be so nice with that station logo. Oh, yeah.
- 12:46Speaker 1: And by golly, they've had a fleet now for years,
- 12:49Speaker 1: and they still use them. uh exclusively and i gotta
- 12:53Speaker 1: tell you their ride is awesome oh yeah and if
- 12:56Speaker 1: you're you're taking a little trip or something like that
- 12:59Speaker 1: i can't think of anything really much more comfortable than
- 13:02Speaker 1: that too so they those things really sell themselves.
- 13:05Speaker 4: I've been driving back and forth to tulsa and they're super.
- 13:08Speaker 6: Smooth 2026 i mean the new model it's just a
- 13:13Speaker 6: you know new model style it's just amazing i mean
- 13:16Speaker 6: and It is smooth. Like, we test drove one yesterday,
- 13:19Speaker 6: and I told William when I got back, I said,
- 13:21Speaker 6: I have to watch the customers because it's such a
- 13:23Speaker 6: smooth ride.
- 13:23Speaker 5: The next thing you know, they're speeding, and I'm like,
- 13:25Speaker 5: you're going to have to watch your speed. You're going
- 13:27Speaker 5: to have to watch your speed.
- 13:28Speaker 3: We can't do that. Well, the good thing about it, though,
- 13:31Speaker 3: is they do still have the safety sense.
- 13:32Speaker 4: Yes, yes. So, like, you know, even with them going
- 13:34Speaker 4: a little too fast, Michelle knows she's safe because that speed,
- 13:37Speaker 4: the cruise control on them, I don't know if you
- 13:39Speaker 4: felt that on your test drive.
- 13:42Speaker 3: I remember the first Corolla I ever had.
- 13:45Speaker 4: You turn it on the cruise control and it's coming
- 13:47Speaker 4: up to the back of cars and slowing down really hard.
- 13:50Speaker 3: And now it is super smooth.
- 13:52Speaker 4: It comes up, you know, you can switch lanes.
- 13:54Speaker 3: It's not going to speed up or slow down too much.
- 13:56Speaker 5: Once you switch lanes, I mean, it's nice.
- 13:58Speaker 2: It's really nice.
- 13:59Speaker 6: And then, of course, you've got your little speed limit thing,
- 14:01Speaker 6: you know, on your little dash there. So I love
- 14:03Speaker 6: that it turns red whenever you do start to speed
- 14:06Speaker 6: a little.
- 14:07Speaker 2: You could be in trouble.
- 14:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:10Speaker 4: That's sometimes not my favorite feature. It is a good reminder.
- 14:15Speaker 4: It's a darn good reminder. Yeah, it's a great reminder.
- 14:18Speaker 4: And speaking of keeping your cars forever, I did, you know,
- 14:21Speaker 4: before the show, I was looking at what's going on
- 14:23Speaker 4: in town this week, and it looks like we got
- 14:26Speaker 4: the 39th annual Oldies and Goodies Car Show.
- 14:29Speaker 2: We've been doing it, yeah.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Yeah, it sounds like we got some great, those are
- 14:33Speaker 4: cars that people have kept forever.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Super fun event.
- 14:36Speaker 4: I haven't been in a couple years, but I did
- 14:39Speaker 4: go when I was younger.
- 14:40Speaker 3: And it was always cool to be able to go
- 14:42Speaker 3: out there and take a look.
- 14:42Speaker 2: You can sneak away before you have to be at work. Yeah.
- 14:45Speaker 2: do it.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Well, maybe I'll have to call my boss and see,
- 14:48Speaker 4: you know, take Michelle with me. So yeah, cause I'm excited,
- 14:54Speaker 4: you know, it's always from my memory a couple of
- 14:56Speaker 4: years ago, it's just so cool to see those older
- 14:59Speaker 4: units and, you know, see where cars have come from
- 15:01Speaker 4: back then and where they're at today. And, you know,
- 15:05Speaker 4: how much, like you said, safety features and everything. And
- 15:07Speaker 4: just that evolution is absolutely incredible.
- 15:10Speaker 2: It is.
- 15:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 15:12Speaker 4: Hopefully we'll see some, if we are able to sink away,
- 15:15Speaker 4: we'll get to see some older Toyotas out there.
- 15:17Speaker 6: So I like the owners standing by the cars too,
- 15:19Speaker 6: because a lot of times you can kind of get
- 15:20Speaker 6: a little bit of a story of the car. You know,
- 15:21Speaker 6: the owners usually don't mind.
- 15:28Speaker 4: That's one good thing about being in the car business is,
- 15:30Speaker 4: you know, you get to hear, while these are great
- 15:34Speaker 4: to go and hear people's stories, you know, we get
- 15:37Speaker 4: to hear the stories every day, people in their cars and,
- 15:40Speaker 4: you know, people that have kept their cars.
- 15:42Speaker 3: For years and years.
- 15:43Speaker 4: You know, I had a lady yesterday who has been
- 15:47Speaker 4: dealing with, and I know this sounds like an interesting story,
- 15:50Speaker 4: but rodents in her car, we see that all the time,
- 15:53Speaker 4: especially out in the country of eating at wires.
- 15:57Speaker 2: That just happens.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 15:58Speaker 2: There's really nothing you can do.
- 16:00Speaker 3: No way to avoid it.
- 16:01Speaker 4: And so she was looking to trade out of her
- 16:03Speaker 4: car because the rodents had got into it and You know,
- 16:06Speaker 4: I got to really connect with her on that because
- 16:08Speaker 4: my grandma went through that same issue a couple years
- 16:10Speaker 4: back with her last vehicle. And so it's always nice
- 16:14Speaker 4: to be able to connect with people over cars because
- 16:17Speaker 4: they're such an integral part of our lives.
- 16:21Speaker 3: And they get us from A to B. So I
- 16:24Speaker 3: do love events like that. Mm-hmm.
- 16:27Speaker 5: Just getting to meet people in the community. I grew
- 16:29Speaker 5: up here in Bartlesville, so I love seeing people that
- 16:32Speaker 5: I know already.
- 16:33Speaker 6: And then I love meeting new people and getting to
- 16:35Speaker 6: know their story and what brought them to Bartlesville.
- 16:37Speaker 5: And, you know, I really enjoy that.
- 16:39Speaker 2: That is really nice.
- 16:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Because, you know, it just kind of fosters really what
- 16:45Speaker 1: Dunges is all about.
- 16:46Speaker 2: You know, we're here for you.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 16:49Speaker 2: And we've got to work together in order to make
- 16:51Speaker 2: that happen. Yeah. And it works really well.
- 16:54Speaker 4: Well, and that's what we're really looking for is, you know,
- 16:56Speaker 4: no matter where you're at with your car or your
- 16:59Speaker 4: car buying experience or just car ownership experience, we want
- 17:03Speaker 4: you to feel comfortable to be able to come into dungeons,
- 17:06Speaker 4: ask questions, you know, know where you're at, know where
- 17:10Speaker 4: you can go with your vehicle with your next purchase,
- 17:13Speaker 4: or even just know, be able to talk to us
- 17:15Speaker 4: about your car and how great it's been or what
- 17:18Speaker 4: issues it's having. We really want to be that. And
- 17:21Speaker 4: I know, Michelle, spends lots of times talking to people
- 17:24Speaker 4: about how they can upgrade their vehicle. And, you know,
- 17:27Speaker 4: she tells me all the time about, like she was saying,
- 17:29Speaker 4: she's been in Bartlesville her whole life. She talks to
- 17:32Speaker 4: her friends about it and, you know, different cars and
- 17:35Speaker 4: different options all the time.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Yes, yes.
- 17:37Speaker 6: And I love it, like, when people have bought from
- 17:40Speaker 6: us and then they come into service and they feel
- 17:42Speaker 6: comfortable enough to come over and talk to us, you know,
- 17:45Speaker 6: in sales and catch up with us.
- 17:47Speaker 5: And so that's always a nice experience.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Well, it is.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Uncle Joe makes it kind of inviting, though, too.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Yes. No, with the cookies that we do have.
- 17:56Speaker 4: Trust me, we have at least five to ten customers
- 17:59Speaker 4: that come in once every couple weeks just to get
- 18:03Speaker 4: the cookies and have a talk. And so, you know,
- 18:06Speaker 4: they're some of our favorites. You know, that's why we
- 18:09Speaker 4: have it there. Because, like I said, you come in,
- 18:12Speaker 4: we're happy to just talk to you about your car
- 18:14Speaker 4: and where you're at with it and, you know.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Come grab a cookie. Come grab some popcorn. Say hi
- 18:20Speaker 3: to Uncle Joe.
- 18:20Speaker 2: There you go.
- 18:23Speaker 3: He's a good guy, and he apparently does a really
- 18:26Speaker 3: good job with those cookies. He keeps people coming back.
- 18:29Speaker 2: They're magic cookies. They disappear every day. Exactly.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Exactly. This is really something else. I'm a man of
- 18:40Speaker 1: a few years. Okay, a few decades, all right?
- 18:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:45Speaker 1: When I've gone in for regular maintenance in cities elsewhere
- 18:48Speaker 1: in my life, it's kind of been a kind of
- 18:52Speaker 1: a pain. But when I go into dungeons to get this,
- 18:56Speaker 1: you know, maybe it's, it's just a, you know, a
- 18:58Speaker 1: tire rotation and an oil change or something simple like that.
- 19:02Speaker 2: It's quick. It's easy. Uh, there's no grind.
- 19:05Speaker 1: There's no anxiety. It just happens and it's done. You
- 19:11Speaker 1: want to talk about really putting a person at ease, uh,
- 19:15Speaker 1: you've done it. You've got the people in place that
- 19:18Speaker 1: just make it so smooth.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Well, and I really appreciate you saying that. And that
- 19:22Speaker 4: is something we hear often, you know, just as a
- 19:25Speaker 4: sales staff. Because sometimes, you know, people are coming out
- 19:29Speaker 4: of service and they're just coming over to us and saying, hey,
- 19:31Speaker 4: do you mind letting your service people know they're doing
- 19:34Speaker 4: a really good job? You know, I've heard from multiple
- 19:36Speaker 4: customers about, you know, experiences elsewhere where they.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Feel like they get pushed away.
- 19:42Speaker 4: And customers that come all the way from Owasso, Tulsa,
- 19:45Speaker 4: just to get their car serviced here because of the
- 19:49Speaker 4: ease that we do it in service, in sales. And
- 19:53Speaker 4: that's really what we're going for. We want people to feel,
- 19:56Speaker 4: you know, that we're tight and that we're here to
- 19:59Speaker 4: help them. And that's really our main goal.
- 20:02Speaker 1: One thing I love about the sales process and what
- 20:05Speaker 1: you do there, everything is so transparent. I've never seen
- 20:08Speaker 1: such transparency in my life. Now, I bought a vehicle
- 20:12Speaker 1: from the Dunge's family of autos a few years ago.
- 20:16Speaker 1: That whole transaction may have taken 35 minutes.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:20Speaker 1: And I didn't have to carve out a whole afternoon
- 20:24Speaker 1: to get something done.
- 20:26Speaker 2: I had an interest in a vehicle.
- 20:28Speaker 1: I did my homework on the vehicle, played around with
- 20:30Speaker 1: the little things on the Internet about the payment.
- 20:32Speaker 2: It was within $ 7.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Yeah. By the time it was– I mean, that's how
- 20:37Speaker 1: close– I can't say that that's going to be everybody's experience,
- 20:40Speaker 1: but it was pretty darn close. And the young lady
- 20:44Speaker 1: that I worked with at that time, everything was just
- 20:47Speaker 1: so right up front. And I'm thinking, wow, this has changed.
- 20:51Speaker 1: And then Brad told me, well, we do things differently. Yeah,
- 20:55Speaker 1: you do.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Yes.
- 20:57Speaker 5: Very transparent.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Very transparent.
- 20:59Speaker 5: You know, non-commissioned sales.
- 21:01Speaker 6: So, you know, it– We're going to make the same
- 21:04Speaker 6: amount whether we get you in a $ 50, 000 car or
- 21:07Speaker 6: a $ 10, 000 car. So we just want to get what
- 21:10Speaker 6: fits best for you. We're not trying to push something
- 21:12Speaker 6: on so we can make more money.
- 21:14Speaker 3: We're very excited.
- 21:16Speaker 1: The whole idea about this was how can we get
- 21:18Speaker 1: you into this. If this is what you want, well,
- 21:22Speaker 1: we're going to do everything we can to make it happen.
- 21:24Speaker 1: And it did in 35 minutes or less.
- 21:27Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 21:28Speaker 4: Well, and like you mentioned, being able to go online
- 21:31Speaker 4: and build your own deal and, you know, knowing that
- 21:33Speaker 4: it's going to be the same thing when you come in.
- 21:35Speaker 3: That's one thing we really enjoy. Yes, yes.
- 21:38Speaker 5: I love our Dell Central tool. Exactly.
- 21:40Speaker 3: It is that good.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:41Speaker 6: Yes.
- 21:42Speaker 4: Well, and, you know, one thing people– I've had people
- 21:44Speaker 4: where we send them the numbers, and I know you've
- 21:46Speaker 4: had this too, and they'll be like, well, what else
- 21:49Speaker 4: is going to get added when I get there?
- 21:51Speaker 3: And we're like– Nothing.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Nothing.
- 21:53Speaker 3: That's for sure.
- 21:55Speaker 2: I can vouch for that.
- 21:57Speaker 4: So it makes it really easy. And honestly, you know,
- 21:59Speaker 4: it makes it smoother for us, too, and Michelle. Because
- 22:02Speaker 4: it's like you're not having to, you know, move stuff
- 22:05Speaker 4: around on the customer.
- 22:07Speaker 3: And, you know, that's the last thing we want to do.
- 22:11Speaker 4: And I know Michelle enjoys just being able to get
- 22:13Speaker 4: people in, help them out, and get them out the
- 22:15Speaker 4: door and on.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Their way in their new car.
- 22:18Speaker 1: And I didn't see anybody wear out the corridor trying
- 22:21Speaker 1: to run down to somebody's office to check back by
- 22:23Speaker 1: every six times. It happened once. And that was it.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Deal done.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Let's go have dinner and celebrate this thing after it
- 22:33Speaker 1: gets back from detail. And you mentioned the detail. Your
- 22:38Speaker 1: crew there rocks.
- 22:40Speaker 3: They do.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Oh, my.
- 22:41Speaker 6: I had them clean my car one time, and they
- 22:43Speaker 6: brought it back, and they brought me my keys, and
- 22:44Speaker 6: they're like, your car's parked in the back. You can
- 22:47Speaker 6: go check it out any time you get a chance.
- 22:49Speaker 6: And so I go back there. It was so clean,
- 22:51Speaker 6: I passed it up.
- 22:51Speaker 5: I didn't even recognize it.
- 22:56Speaker 2: I got it.
- 22:57Speaker 3: That'll happen.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Like, ooh, that's hard. That's nice.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Oh, wait, that's mine. I know.
- 23:05Speaker 4: They're doing a great job down there. I really enjoy,
- 23:07Speaker 4: you know, the job they do, and they're quick.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Yes.
- 23:10Speaker 4: And they make it easy, too. That's, you know, the whole,
- 23:13Speaker 4: every aspect of the dealership, we're trying to make it
- 23:15Speaker 4: as quick and easy as possible and make sure we
- 23:17Speaker 4: do a quality.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Job while doing it.
- 23:18Speaker 5: Yes.
- 23:20Speaker 1: I got to imagine what's really nice is when you
- 23:22Speaker 1: see different generations of people who purchase autos from the
- 23:25Speaker 1: dealership come in.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. You know, hey.
- 23:29Speaker 2: My grandparents bought from you. My parents bought from you.
- 23:32Speaker 2: I'm buying from you. And by the way, I've got
- 23:33Speaker 2: a 15, 16-year-old who's going to be in the market here.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Let's see who we can look at down the road.
- 23:39Speaker 2: That's got to be a good feeling.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 23:41Speaker 5: Well, like you've just even taken my family. My dad
- 23:44Speaker 5: bought from Dunge's. My mom bought from Dunge's. I bought
- 23:46Speaker 5: from Dunge's. Now my kids have bought from Dunge's. So
- 23:49Speaker 5: we're three generations in.
- 23:51Speaker 6: My dad lives out in Tennessee and still bought from
- 23:53Speaker 6: Dunge's and had it shipped out to Tennessee.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Wow.
- 23:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:57Speaker 2: That's cool.
- 23:58Speaker 1: One thing I do have to mention is that I
- 24:00Speaker 1: see the Dungeons nameplate everywhere.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I travel a lot on the weekends.
- 24:05Speaker 1: I play music in different places in the state and
- 24:07Speaker 1: sometimes out of state. Even in Joplin, Missouri. There's a
- 24:10Speaker 1: ton of Donja stamps all over the place out there
- 24:13Speaker 1: that I'm following. And it's amazing. It's really kind of cool.
- 24:18Speaker 5: I've been in Dallas before and seen Donjas.
- 24:19Speaker 2: I bet you have.
- 24:20Speaker 4: About a week ago in St. Louis, my buddy that
- 24:24Speaker 4: lives in St. Louis sent me a picture. He goes,
- 24:26Speaker 4: is this you? I'm like, yeah, that's me. There it is.
- 24:30Speaker 4: So I was like, be on the lookout for more.
- 24:32Speaker 3: They're coming.
- 24:33Speaker 2: You bet they are.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Hey, where can we find you any old day of
- 24:37Speaker 1: the week except for Sunday?
- 24:40Speaker 3: 1911 Southeast Washington Boulevard.
- 24:42Speaker 4: You can find us there or you can give us
- 24:44Speaker 4: a call. You know, you can reach us also.
- 24:50Speaker 3: On our website. Go there.
- 24:52Speaker 4: Feel free to call up to the dealership and ask
- 24:55Speaker 4: for Michelle if you want to have the easy but
- 24:58Speaker 4: tech forward experience buying a car. She does a really
- 25:02Speaker 4: good job with that and Honestly, tomorrow, if anyone is
- 25:06Speaker 4: playing in the United Way Golf Tournament, I will be
- 25:09Speaker 4: out there.
- 25:10Speaker 2: All right, good.
- 25:10Speaker 3: So feel free to run up and grab a card, too.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Oh, this is, yeah, I forgot that. That's big stuff
- 25:16Speaker 2: for you guys.
- 25:17Speaker 1: You've been providing vehicles for folks for that for years.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Yes, yeah.
- 25:21Speaker 4: No, I think right now we have one out in
- 25:23Speaker 4: a Land Cruiser, which is a really nice vehicle. So
- 25:27Speaker 4: if you do see a white Land Cruiser driving around,
- 25:29Speaker 4: that is one of our vehicles for the United Way.
- 25:33Speaker 2: It is great.
- 25:34Speaker 4: Actually Brad's vehicle that he is going to be trading in.
- 25:38Speaker 4: We're going to have it there as a demo. So
- 25:40Speaker 4: if you're looking to, it's hard to find Land Cruisers.
- 25:42Speaker 1: It is.
- 25:42Speaker 4: If you're looking to drive one, we're going to have
- 25:44Speaker 4: one on the lot, and then that one will become
- 25:46Speaker 4: available on the 20th.
- 25:48Speaker 3: But between the end of this week and the 20th
- 25:51Speaker 3: of October.
- 25:52Speaker 4: That car will be available just for people to drive
- 25:54Speaker 4: and see if they like the Land Cruisers. So feel
- 25:56Speaker 4: free to come on by and just take it for
- 25:59Speaker 4: a spin.
- 25:59Speaker 2: How hard was it to get Brad out of the
- 26:01Speaker 2: Land Cruiser?
- 26:01Speaker 4: Sure. It was pretty difficult, you know. He switched from
- 26:05Speaker 4: the Sequoia to the Land Cruiser, and he immediately, I
- 26:10Speaker 4: thought it was going to be too small.
- 26:12Speaker 3: He was like, I absolutely love this car. So it
- 26:15Speaker 3: was a.
- 26:15Speaker 4: Bit of a struggle, but he'll find something new.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Oh, man. You know, he'd look pretty good in the Sequoia, too.
- 26:23Speaker 2: He'd look pretty darn comfortable in that.
- 26:24Speaker 4: I do love my Sequoias, and to be honest... that
- 26:28Speaker 4: has so much room in the back. I'm not a
- 26:30Speaker 4: short man. And so having that space in the back
- 26:34Speaker 4: did help quite a bit. But I thought the Land
- 26:37Speaker 4: Cruiser was going to be too small, and then we
- 26:39Speaker 4: went on a little trip down to Dallas, and it
- 26:43Speaker 4: impressed me. There's plenty of space there in the back row.
- 26:45Speaker 1: And remember, get your Camry before you start selling to
- 26:49Speaker 1: every member of your family.
- 26:50Speaker 3: That's right.
- 26:51Speaker 2: We love our Camrys.
- 26:54Speaker 3: This is great.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Where can we find you online so we can maybe
- 26:58Speaker 1: take a look at things and get working on the deal?
- 27:01Speaker 3: I believe it's www.dungestoyota.com. That's it?
- 27:05Speaker 2: That's it. That's so easy. Yeah. And, of course, you've
- 27:09Speaker 2: got simple pricing out there, too.
- 27:11Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 27:11Speaker 4: And like I said, we have our Accelerate tool where
- 27:14Speaker 4: you can literally just go on the website.
- 27:16Speaker 3: You can put in what you're.
- 27:18Speaker 4: The estimated credit score is estimated down payment, and it'll
- 27:21Speaker 4: give you a payment right there, and that payment will
- 27:23Speaker 4: be the same payment you're going to get when you
- 27:25Speaker 4: come into the dealership.
- 27:26Speaker 2: That makes your life a little easier, doesn't it?
- 27:28Speaker 3: It does.
- 27:28Speaker 5: It does.
- 27:29Speaker 6: And not a lot of, like you said earlier, running
- 27:31Speaker 6: back and forth, you know. Yes, it makes my job
- 27:34Speaker 6: a lot easier.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Oh, my goodness sakes.
- 27:36Speaker 1: I want to thank you both for coming in. And,
- 27:38Speaker 1: you know, good luck out there today. I know it's
- 27:41Speaker 1: going to be a little bit on the warm side, but,
- 27:43Speaker 1: you know, hot deals. What can you do with hot deals?
- 27:46Speaker 1: Hot deals on hot wheels. Stop me.
- 27:48Speaker 2: I'm on a roll. Dutch and Toyota, folks.
- 27:51Speaker 1: And this has been Car Talk right here on K1,
- 27:54Speaker 1: the one you trust.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Thanks for joining us.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Don't forget, folks, coming up in just a little bit,
- 27:59Speaker 1: we're going to have our weather.
- 28:01Speaker 2: And, of course, they'll tell you how hot it's going
- 28:03Speaker 2: to be there. plus our news.
- 28:05Speaker 1: From both Fox News and, of course, our local news
- 28:08Speaker 1: right here at K1.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Stay tuned.
