- 0:00Speaker 1: Be in this league podcast network. There's this Dynasty Sports Life,
- 0:06Speaker 1: a podcast about playing fantasy baseball, basketball, football, and hont
- 0:11Speaker 1: three hundred and sixty five days a year. Here's your host,
- 0:16Speaker 1: Jesse Sylvia.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Welcome to the Dynasty Sports Life. Jesse Severe with you
- 0:22Speaker 2: to talk about the wonderful world of Dynasty fantasy sports.
- 0:27Speaker 2: What is going on. Of course, last week no episode.
- 0:30Speaker 2: It is that summertime when I disappear. You'll probably hear
- 0:34Speaker 2: some reference to that on this show because it was
- 0:38Speaker 2: Europe based and we have a European guest today. European.
- 0:42Speaker 2: It sounds exotic to me, but we'll see. Actually, I
- 0:46Speaker 2: think Britain isn't part of Europe anymore. I'm not sure
- 0:48Speaker 2: that Craig can claim that title. In any event, it
- 0:52Speaker 2: is still timed. People are starting to get fired up
- 0:55Speaker 2: with football people, and that means that your baseball leagues,
- 0:59Speaker 2: it's time to pounce. It's time to get in there
- 1:02Speaker 2: for that post all Star break and get her going.
- 1:05Speaker 2: That's what today's episode is going to be about. And
- 1:07Speaker 2: of course Summer League has just concluded and NHL we
- 1:13Speaker 2: are in the dregs, but there's still a couple of
- 1:15Speaker 2: things hanging out there, So there's still those leagues are
- 1:19Speaker 2: probably gonna go a little bit quiet for a little
- 1:21Speaker 2: bit of time, but that just means we like to
- 1:22Speaker 2: talk to about them even more in the dynasty space.
- 1:26Speaker 2: But today, as I said, baseball, Craig Vosage after this
- 1:33Speaker 2: live from the chile cool homes of southern England. It
- 1:39Speaker 2: is Craig Bissage here once again living in a climatological paradise.
- 1:43Speaker 2: How are you doing today, Creig?
- 1:44Speaker 3: A lot cooler than I was a few days ago.
- 1:46Speaker 3: I tell you we had temperatures up into thirty seven range,
- 1:51Speaker 3: so you know, sort of around about the one hundred mark,
- 1:54Speaker 3: which meant indoors it was like forty or forty one,
- 1:57Speaker 3: forty two because of all the installation and red houses are.
- 2:02Speaker 3: It hasn't rained here for nearly three weeks. I think
- 2:06Speaker 3: we had a forest fire about two miles away from
- 2:09Speaker 3: where I live, which is just unheard of here. They
- 2:12Speaker 3: don't happen. It just rains too often. Nothing's ever dry enough.
- 2:16Speaker 3: And I live surrounded by a lot of hills and
- 2:19Speaker 3: stuff to the north called the South Downs, and they
- 2:22Speaker 3: are just brown with desperate need of rain. But I'm
- 2:26Speaker 3: managing now we're down to about twenty two seventy one
- 2:30Speaker 3: something along those lines. And yeah, if we'd done this
- 2:33Speaker 3: quite a few days ago, i'd add my shirt off.
- 2:36Speaker 3: I'd have been taking you to a gun show and
- 2:39Speaker 3: the safety catches would have been off.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. You can obviously see why there was
- 2:44Speaker 2: no episode last week. Everybody part of that, though, because
- 2:48Speaker 2: I also foolishly chose late July to go to Europe
- 2:54Speaker 2: because we're taking our vacation over there, and yeah, it's
- 2:57Speaker 2: freaking hot. It is freaking hot over there. So I
- 3:00Speaker 2: don't know about this, Craig. You guys need to I
- 3:03Speaker 2: keep trying to tell Craig, all you need is some
- 3:06Speaker 2: air condition over there. I lived in the South of
- 3:08Speaker 2: the US, and all you do, you know, you can't.
- 3:11Speaker 2: It is so darn hot and miserable. But whenever you
- 3:15Speaker 2: walk into an indoor space in the American South, you
- 3:18Speaker 2: will be absolutely nubed with fifty five degree air conditioning
- 3:23Speaker 2: before you even can come in.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's cheating, isn't it. Air Conditioner breakfast is
- 3:28Speaker 3: for WIMPs.
- 3:30Speaker 2: No, it's not cheating, Craig, it's they. We used to joke,
- 3:33Speaker 2: the Vikings fans would joke a little bit that packers
- 3:37Speaker 2: are like, we're tough. We have the outdoor stadium in
- 3:40Speaker 2: the middle of the winter. Why wouldn't you be tough
- 3:42Speaker 2: and have the stadium outdoors? And Minnesotans are like, we
- 3:45Speaker 2: just have the sense to come in out at the cold.
- 3:47Speaker 2: When it's cold, you put a roof up. My friends,
- 3:50Speaker 2: and the Minneapolis being north of Green Bay, it seems logical.
- 3:53Speaker 3: But yeah, to be fair, we're about one thousands miles
- 3:57Speaker 3: north in Brighton. I live right in the south coast
- 3:59Speaker 3: of England. The latitude and longitude speaking, we are like
- 4:03Speaker 3: about twelve hundred miles one thousand miles north of Green
- 4:06Speaker 3: Bay ourselves. It's not like we've much like we're in
- 4:09Speaker 3: the south or anything. But I mean it was so
- 4:12Speaker 3: bad here. We had a regular health warn and so
- 4:14Speaker 3: it was risk of death. We had train lines, not
- 4:18Speaker 3: running businesses, clothes, schools, clothes. We're just not built for it.
- 4:23Speaker 3: It's as simple as that. And sort of the flip side.
- 4:25Speaker 3: I know they'll be c k and people like that
- 4:28Speaker 3: who live in the South of America who will laugh
- 4:31Speaker 3: at the temperatures that I say and stuff or Chad
- 4:35Speaker 3: in Arizona. But We're just not built for it. It'd
- 4:38Speaker 3: be like their houses trying to survive through minus fifteen,
- 4:42Speaker 3: do you know what I mean? The houses are not
- 4:44Speaker 3: built for that. It's just the way it is. And
- 4:46Speaker 3: it's definitely getting hotter and hotter here in the summer.
- 4:48Speaker 3: But it's the real lack of rain which is the
- 4:51Speaker 3: real problem at the moment.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, today, Craig, we're just going to have to
- 4:55Speaker 2: make it rain from a fantasy sense for people who
- 4:58Speaker 2: are just miserable and hot where they are at least
- 5:01Speaker 2: it's yeah, yeah, So here the other thing, Craig, that
- 5:07Speaker 2: I will and then I promise I will stop telling
- 5:09Speaker 2: vacation stories as an excuse for why I didn't show up.
- 5:12Speaker 2: But it's an interesting exercise we have today because we're
- 5:15Speaker 2: gonna be talking about the second half of the baseball
- 5:17Speaker 2: season and who we might draft now, and we'll get
- 5:21Speaker 2: into the exact rules. But last week, when I was
- 5:25Speaker 2: in Europe, I also got a taste of you and
- 5:28Speaker 2: Thomas and all the other guys from Europe drafting our
- 5:33Speaker 2: leagues because there was our second half league in one
- 5:36Speaker 2: of the home leagues here was scheduled to draft at
- 5:40Speaker 2: three A m all right, three am.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Over there, welcome to Wells.
- 5:45Speaker 2: And I was. I tried to get somebody to drafted
- 5:47Speaker 2: for me. I couldn't find anybody. I woke myself up
- 5:50Speaker 2: in the middle of the night. The fantasy wife is
- 5:53Speaker 2: completely thinking I'm insane, and I spent it was a
- 5:56Speaker 2: two hour draft, Craig. From three to five in the morning.
- 6:00Speaker 2: I was wandering around in the heat and the dark.
- 6:05Speaker 3: You never have a holiday when you play fantasy sports,
- 6:08Speaker 3: or at least when you take them seriously. If you
- 6:10Speaker 3: remember with the three sport draft, I believe my youngest
- 6:14Speaker 3: daughter was being born in hospital at the time, trying
- 6:18Speaker 3: to juggle the birth making picks, and I did it.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Got to take priorities here. But yeah, that is a
- 6:26Speaker 3: taste of us, and now you can probably get a
- 6:28Speaker 3: little bit of a sense of why. To Thomas and I,
- 6:31Speaker 3: it's quite irritating when it's eight o'clock in the evening
- 6:34Speaker 3: and we've had about two picks during the day and
- 6:37Speaker 3: then someone says willing to trade this pick on the
- 6:41Speaker 3: clock and you're on deck and you're thinking, I want
- 6:43Speaker 3: to go to bed soon, and we've had two picks
- 6:46Speaker 3: all day, and now I've got to wait for you
- 6:49Speaker 3: to try and trade this pick. Yeah, it's a different
- 6:52Speaker 3: animal when you're drafting over here. It doesn't matter whether
- 6:54Speaker 3: it's slow drafts or live drafts. It's just a different animal.
- 6:59Speaker 2: It was doubly confusing for me because first of all,
- 7:05Speaker 2: I had no sense of place or where I was
- 7:08Speaker 2: or north, left, south, up those directions right that when
- 7:12Speaker 2: I was making this draft. But also I was disoriented
- 7:15Speaker 2: by the fact that player evaluations changed. I don't know
- 7:18Speaker 2: about you, Craig during the season. I shouldn't admit this
- 7:22Speaker 2: because I'm doing a fantasy podcast here, but hey, it's Dynasty.
- 7:25Speaker 2: It's the long term anyway. But I'm not listening to
- 7:29Speaker 2: every podcast. I'm not trying to micromanage the every single
- 7:33Speaker 2: player and how they're doing. Guys who were on my teams,
- 7:36Speaker 2: I have a pretty good sense of how they're doing.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Guys who I did not have interest in or never
- 7:40Speaker 2: picked up off a wire, I don't always have a sense.
- 7:43Speaker 2: So when I sat down to draft, which unfortunately, because
- 7:46Speaker 2: i'd been trying to get a pinch draft, I hadn't
- 7:48Speaker 2: spent a lot of time prepping for it, I was like,
- 7:52Speaker 2: what the heck, what is this season this player is having?
- 7:55Speaker 2: Or what is going wrong here?
- 7:57Speaker 3: And yeah, it's felt a strange season as well. In
- 8:01Speaker 3: so we've had things like Fernando ta Teas junior just
- 8:05Speaker 3: being pretty mediocre for his standards, Aaron Judge going down
- 8:10Speaker 3: the pitching apart from a few, like a lot of
- 8:14Speaker 3: the high name pitchers have just been and that mid tier,
- 8:19Speaker 3: the mid gluttony of pitchers have just been all over
- 8:23Speaker 3: the place. It's felt like a really bizarre season in
- 8:25Speaker 3: terms of from where we are now to the start
- 8:28Speaker 3: of season values. But I kind of that because especially
- 8:33Speaker 3: when you're playing leagues like ours, where we've had it
- 8:36Speaker 3: traditionally in the first five years or so, the same
- 8:39Speaker 3: sort of people were in the playoffs or near the
- 8:41Speaker 3: top all the time. That's starting to swap around a
- 8:45Speaker 3: bit and getting it like that. There's no easy matchups.
- 8:48Speaker 3: I don't feel in any of the sports anymore. You
- 8:50Speaker 3: don't sit there thinking, oh, I'm playing X, so gimme
- 8:54Speaker 3: or I'm playing Why that's going to be a gimme
- 8:55Speaker 3: in any of the sports now, because I think, like
- 8:59Speaker 3: with baseball, it's become a lot less predicting, NBA is
- 9:03Speaker 3: becoming a lot less predictive, and NFL is just never predictive.
- 9:08Speaker 3: So to now, I just I kind of like seasons
- 9:10Speaker 3: like this where you feel like you really have to
- 9:13Speaker 3: work for your wins every single week, regardless of who
- 9:16Speaker 3: it is that you're playing.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Yeah, the things are upside down from time to time,
- 9:22Speaker 2: and this week we're going to try to figure out
- 9:26Speaker 2: how that is going to work for us. The exercise
- 9:28Speaker 2: that we've constructed to perform today is a second half draft,
- 9:33Speaker 2: and what we're going to be doing is going through
- 9:36Speaker 2: just a very basic roster catcher per second, third, short
- 9:40Speaker 2: three outfielders, three starters and a reliever each. And I've
- 9:44Speaker 2: done that. It's kind of a fun format where we've
- 9:47Speaker 2: chosen too. I've done this before with hockey. We do
- 9:50Speaker 2: a hockey draft every year as a podcast where we
- 9:53Speaker 2: go on fan tracks under seventy five percent owned, So
- 9:56Speaker 2: let's just take the obvious guys off the board. Let's
- 9:58Speaker 2: talk about the players who maybe surprising to be here,
- 10:03Speaker 2: because we know at this point a lot of dead leagues,
- 10:05Speaker 2: a lot of guys out for the season were more
- 10:07Speaker 2: than seventy five percent owned. But who is still out
- 10:10Speaker 2: there at a value. And if you think these percentages
- 10:14Speaker 2: sound odd or you think the players we're talking about
- 10:16Speaker 2: become reaches. Keep in mind Van Trax leagues tend to
- 10:19Speaker 2: be very deep leagues, and they tend to be dynasty leagues,
- 10:22Speaker 2: so the cutoff for seventy five percent is pretty brutal
- 10:25Speaker 2: in this.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Yeah, and you you also have to bear in mind
- 10:29Speaker 3: that even in twelve sixteen leagues and stuff, each of
- 10:35Speaker 3: these positions need to be filled, and they're going to
- 10:37Speaker 3: be filled with predominantly one hundred percent ownership guys. So
- 10:40Speaker 3: we're talking about the guys. We're talking about guys that
- 10:44Speaker 3: are bench guys in below really aren't we We're not
- 10:47Speaker 3: talking about anyone that if someone's drafted in a twelve
- 10:51Speaker 3: team like standard league, would be drafted into any of
- 10:55Speaker 3: their starter spots. So these are more guys that are
- 10:57Speaker 3: probably coming out of value. There's no suspects because let's
- 11:01Speaker 3: be honest, if they are likely to be called up
- 11:05Speaker 3: for the second half of the half of the season,
- 11:08Speaker 3: their price probably far exceeds any of these types of
- 11:11Speaker 3: guys anyway, so they're not really coming out of value.
- 11:14Speaker 3: So but yeah, it was an interesting exercise looking through.
- 11:17Speaker 3: It's definitely not what you would call a star studied
- 11:20Speaker 3: all roster that I've got here, but hopefully we've got
- 11:23Speaker 3: a few interesting names that will peak a bit of
- 11:25Speaker 3: interest maybe creates them hopefully in other leagues, not necessarily ours,
- 11:30Speaker 3: but some opportunities to potentially buy a bit lower because
- 11:34Speaker 3: they're not necessarily big name guys, but might have sneakily
- 11:39Speaker 3: surprising usefulness. Shall we say.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, or maybe has snucked through to your wayb
- 11:46Speaker 2: wire even depending on who we're talking about, Greig, why
- 11:49Speaker 2: don't you get us started with your catcher?
- 11:52Speaker 3: Okay, So the catcher I've gone for is partly because
- 11:54Speaker 3: of injury and partly because the team he plays for,
- 11:58Speaker 3: and that's still to rushing of the Dodgers. The news
- 12:01Speaker 3: about Will Smith is not looking good. I would be
- 12:05Speaker 3: surprised to see Will Smith play again this season. And
- 12:08Speaker 3: if he does play, I think you're going to get
- 12:10Speaker 3: more than enough time out of rushing for it to
- 12:12Speaker 3: be worth worth the gamble. Sixty four percent owned, available
- 12:17Speaker 3: in plenty of leagues and not consider one of the
- 12:19Speaker 3: top top catchers, and it is one hundred and eighty
- 12:22Speaker 3: six at bats this year, He's got ten home runs,
- 12:26Speaker 3: thirty one thirty RBIs at average of two four seven
- 12:30Speaker 3: and on base percentage of three four. One part of
- 12:33Speaker 3: this is just the Dodgers. If you're playing nearly every
- 12:36Speaker 3: day as a catcher for the Dodgers, regardless of whether
- 12:38Speaker 3: you're hitting eighth, you're going to have good guys batting
- 12:42Speaker 3: in front of you, good guys batting behind aview. Secondly,
- 12:47Speaker 3: eight hundred ops is not to be sniffed at as
- 12:49Speaker 3: a catcher. And if you extrapolate those one hundred and
- 12:52Speaker 3: eighty six up bats and the stat line over a
- 12:55Speaker 3: full season, which I hate doing because no two hundred
- 12:58Speaker 3: that period is ever the same, different teams, different pictures, forms,
- 13:02Speaker 3: et cetera. Stuff. But you're looking at thirty home run
- 13:07Speaker 3: power there and one hundred odd RBIs and runs is
- 13:10Speaker 3: what it's out to enter full season playing time. Not
- 13:13Speaker 3: that I would expect that out of him, but it's
- 13:15Speaker 3: enough there to show that there's enough potential there for
- 13:18Speaker 3: him to have a bit of power, do well enough
- 13:22Speaker 3: in the runs and count runs and RBIs and the
- 13:25Speaker 3: county stats. Probably not going to be great for your
- 13:27Speaker 3: average or on base percentage in terms of helping it,
- 13:30Speaker 3: but he's not going to hinder it too much. So
- 13:33Speaker 3: I think that's a pretty worthwhile speculative targets.
- 13:39Speaker 2: What's your thoughts, Yeah, it really so much of it
- 13:42Speaker 2: just depends on Will Smith. But you're right, absolutely it
- 13:45Speaker 2: is scary, don't Russian was a guy I always looked
- 13:47Speaker 2: at it. You always used to see that c comma
- 13:50Speaker 2: of which you kind of like in fantasy. But he's
- 13:53Speaker 2: really not playing very much outfield occasional DH before Will
- 13:57Speaker 2: Smith went out, But I guess line up the.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Other thing to bear in mind here with the guys
- 14:03Speaker 3: that we're picking, none of them are guys that you
- 14:06Speaker 3: can't move off of in a heartbeat, you know what
- 14:08Speaker 3: I mean. We are literally just trying to find guys
- 14:11Speaker 3: who will provide who we think could provide better value
- 14:16Speaker 3: than what their percentage ode is for the rest of
- 14:19Speaker 3: the season. And given that I don't expect much out
- 14:22Speaker 3: of Will Smith for the rest of the season, I
- 14:24Speaker 3: think rushing is as good a bet as any of
- 14:26Speaker 3: the other catchers that are below that seventy five percent threshold.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Yeah, my catcher is going to be a guy who
- 14:33Speaker 2: in this some of the time, you guys might be like,
- 14:36Speaker 2: I can't believe he's under seventy five percent, or I
- 14:38Speaker 2: can't believe he's over seventy percent. Francisco Albarez is actually
- 14:42Speaker 2: at sixty three percent. And even though he's a man,
- 14:45Speaker 2: and even though the Mets are really in amazing form here,
- 14:51Speaker 2: he is actually having a reasonable year now. It's it
- 14:54Speaker 2: has had ups and downs, and it definitely had some
- 14:57Speaker 2: downs early along with the the whole team around him,
- 15:01Speaker 2: but is back on the upswing. He's got eleven home
- 15:05Speaker 2: runs on the season that would be tied for second
- 15:07Speaker 2: in his career, and I think he's usually going to
- 15:10Speaker 2: surpass it, maybe not hit his career high of twenty five,
- 15:14Speaker 2: but he'll hit a mid two fifties tight batting average
- 15:19Speaker 2: for the year. But in the last little while it's
- 15:22Speaker 2: actually even a little bit better than that. It's not
- 15:26Speaker 2: a loaded lineup, but there are guys hopefully coming back,
- 15:28Speaker 2: and we'll see how much the Mets decided to sell
- 15:32Speaker 2: the trade deadline. But Albarez had some injury time that
- 15:35Speaker 2: he missed too.
- 15:37Speaker 3: The thing, isn't it. He's just got to stay healthy,
- 15:39Speaker 3: isn't he.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Yeah, sure, sure, but he's back. That was about a
- 15:44Speaker 2: month ago. I believe in.
- 15:46Speaker 3: I kind of feel like there's a Patson with Alvarez
- 15:49Speaker 3: off a week, he'll go three games hitless, then he'll
- 15:53Speaker 3: hit I've hit a home run. The following day he
- 15:56Speaker 3: hit two home runs, and then he'll be out for
- 15:58Speaker 3: three weeks with some finger stuff, rinse and repeat. But yeah,
- 16:04Speaker 3: I like that. I like that.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Cole all right, on the first base who you got?
- 16:10Speaker 3: So I've got Curtis Mead of Washington Nationals first base
- 16:15Speaker 3: and third base eligible. So I'm cheating a little bit
- 16:17Speaker 3: by putting him at first base, but plenty of playing
- 16:20Speaker 3: time at the moment, on fire at the moment over
- 16:24Speaker 3: the last thirty days. Bear in mind this is also
- 16:27Speaker 3: covers the All Star breaks. So I was lazy and
- 16:30Speaker 3: just hit the last thirty day tab on for Andres.
- 16:33Speaker 3: But over his last thirty days as as a three
- 16:36Speaker 3: to zero three batting average, three to sixty one on
- 16:39Speaker 3: base on the season, has two hundred and seventy app bats,
- 16:42Speaker 3: seventeen home runs, forty seven runs, forty eight RBIs, and
- 16:47Speaker 3: not kidding your bating average at two fifty six three
- 16:50Speaker 3: point fifty. So the theory is playing time isn't a concern.
- 16:54Speaker 3: He's on good form at the moment. The power seems
- 16:57Speaker 3: legit at Washington Nationals lineup. Did you know that they're
- 17:02Speaker 3: right up there in RBI's and runs scored this season.
- 17:05Speaker 3: I think there might be top out of any team
- 17:07Speaker 3: in the majors.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Wow wow, So yeah.
- 17:11Speaker 3: You can't criticize. You can't criticize the lineup in terms
- 17:16Speaker 3: of the hitting like we have have been able to
- 17:18Speaker 3: do for what feels like a decade or whatever, but
- 17:21Speaker 3: probably not that long because they did win the World Series,
- 17:23Speaker 3: but quite a long time. So you kind of feel
- 17:26Speaker 3: that the runs and the RBI opportunities are going to
- 17:29Speaker 3: be there in a lineup which is I think they
- 17:32Speaker 3: are top in terms of the most runs scored and
- 17:35Speaker 3: Jay he's on good form and only seventy three percent
- 17:38Speaker 3: owned and has a load of good matchups coming up.
- 17:41Speaker 3: So yeah, that was my guy for first base.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Craig, You're going to have to explain to me why
- 17:48Speaker 2: type France is only let's see eighteen rostered in fantasy right.
- 17:55Speaker 3: Now, just because it's just yeah, but I think four
- 17:58Speaker 3: or five of them are in the last four, so
- 18:02Speaker 3: I think it might just be a slow but the
- 18:04Speaker 3: only reason I know that it's got picked him up
- 18:05Speaker 3: in three sport this morning. But yeah, it might just
- 18:08Speaker 3: be slow on the uptake of either not one, the
- 18:11Speaker 3: Padres lineup is rubbish. Let's face it to probably a
- 18:16Speaker 3: bit of the slow on the uptake of form in
- 18:19Speaker 3: picking up on the form. And three maybe it's just
- 18:23Speaker 3: a story we've seen before and even though he's on
- 18:25Speaker 3: a nice hot streak, we just don't really believe him.
- 18:28Speaker 3: That would be my comeback to it. Yeah, sell him
- 18:32Speaker 3: to me, Jesse, I've just picked him up.
- 18:36Speaker 1: In three.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Okay. The first sales point is a negative one, which is,
- 18:40Speaker 2: take a look at these freaking first basemen and there's
- 18:42Speaker 2: some multi eligible opposition guys. But still in half a season,
- 18:48Speaker 2: ty France has got twenty eight runs, fourteen homers, thirty
- 18:52Speaker 2: nine RBI, a steal in a two seventy five average.
- 18:57Speaker 2: He's hitting in the middle of a lineup in what
- 18:59Speaker 2: is still you talked about Tatis. You can talk about
- 19:02Speaker 2: some of the other guys who've faded over time, but.
- 19:05Speaker 3: There's no.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Line up. Oh, pul Guards, he's breaking my heart. But yeah,
- 19:10Speaker 2: but ty Franz is he is just a boring, competent player.
- 19:15Speaker 2: But he's also missed enough games that he's only had
- 19:19Speaker 2: two hundred and eighteen at bats this season, which is
- 19:21Speaker 2: less than half, not less than half, but is there's
- 19:24Speaker 2: guys who've had almost four hundred this year, So he
- 19:28Speaker 2: hasn't missed extensive time due to injury, and he's getting
- 19:32Speaker 2: to play a little bit against both right and left handers.
- 19:35Speaker 2: That's always the danger. He's a small first baseman, he's
- 19:39Speaker 2: five to ten. That's why over the years he's been
- 19:42Speaker 2: placed in different places around the infield. But I think
- 19:46Speaker 2: he's going to be all right. He's going to be
- 19:48Speaker 2: the boring guy who's just going to help me not
- 19:50Speaker 2: lose this league. But his career high, by the way,
- 19:53Speaker 2: in home runs is twenty. He's got fourteen in two
- 19:57Speaker 2: hundred and forty three.
- 19:59Speaker 3: A multi day Billy Butler type, isn't he boring? Steady
- 20:05Speaker 3: kind of needs to hit to keep his playing time.
- 20:09Speaker 3: But he isn't going to let you down. He's going
- 20:11Speaker 3: to get at bats and he isn't going to wear
- 20:14Speaker 3: you either. But like you said, under in the seventy
- 20:16Speaker 3: five percent or less mold first base, third base was
- 20:23Speaker 3: a desert in terms of what was available.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Absolutely, so how about second? Was that any better for you?
- 20:30Speaker 3: Still a bit cheese on top? I think you guys
- 20:32Speaker 3: call it oatmeal, Like he says, a boring, but cheese
- 20:35Speaker 3: on toast is what we would call it. So I've
- 20:37Speaker 3: got Cole Young seventy percent owned, and he isn't going
- 20:42Speaker 3: to blow you away on anything. Three hundred and fifty
- 20:45Speaker 3: nine at bats on the year, thirteen home runs with
- 20:48Speaker 3: forty eight RBIs and runs isn't bad and two fifty
- 20:52Speaker 3: six average doesn't get on base a on just three
- 20:55Speaker 3: point fifteen. But what piqued my interest is over the
- 20:58Speaker 3: last month he does have seven home He is about
- 21:01Speaker 3: in sixty three over the last month. So it was
- 21:06Speaker 3: a guy that seems to be on a decent bit
- 21:09Speaker 3: of form. I haven't watched them out as much of late,
- 21:11Speaker 3: but seems to be on a decent bit of form.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Another guy that a bit typhons you feel, isn't going
- 21:16Speaker 3: to let you down in terms of the playing time
- 21:19Speaker 3: will be there. You do bits and bobs, but there's
- 21:22Speaker 3: still a bit of upside there, something to dream on
- 21:24Speaker 3: as well. So that was my theory with Cole Young
- 21:26Speaker 3: at second base.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I've been writing we had to do mid season
- 21:32Speaker 2: top fifty lists over a Baseball HQ, and I was
- 21:35Speaker 2: sitting there like, yeah, Michael Royo, he should be just
- 21:37Speaker 2: around the corner, all these Mirroress prospects that are on
- 21:40Speaker 2: their way, there's just a big gaping hole in Seattle
- 21:43Speaker 2: at second base. And then I looked at what Cole
- 21:44Speaker 2: Young was doing. I was like, I held on to
- 21:47Speaker 2: this dang guy for all of his struggle years. He
- 21:50Speaker 2: was a good object lesson for me. Of these prospects
- 21:53Speaker 2: will come up, they'll struggle, you'll want them off your roster,
- 21:56Speaker 2: and then they'll turn to do potentially competent major leaguers
- 22:00Speaker 2: after the time that he just had to pull the plug.
- 22:03Speaker 2: So yeah, I'm excited. Coul Young is having himself a
- 22:07Speaker 2: very nice year.
- 22:08Speaker 3: He's still so young, and at second base, like as
- 22:12Speaker 3: we saw this year, it's not an easy position to
- 22:15Speaker 3: get great production of production. And the two highest ADPs
- 22:19Speaker 3: at the start of the year were Kettle Marte and
- 22:22Speaker 3: Jazz Chisholm, and then there seemed to be a bit
- 22:24Speaker 3: of a drop off in terms of the ADP. Like
- 22:26Speaker 3: I said, it's got three hundred and fifty nine at
- 22:28Speaker 3: bats at thirteen home runs and not killing your average
- 22:31Speaker 3: at two five six. If he can be a boring
- 22:35Speaker 3: twenty two home run two sixty kind of hitter with
- 22:38Speaker 3: some aftercent runs and RBIs you're not going to grumble
- 22:41Speaker 3: at that at all, especially as there's still a bit
- 22:43Speaker 3: of upside and potential growth to be there. I know
- 22:46Speaker 3: growth isn't necessarily a guarantee in a sport like baseball,
- 22:49Speaker 3: but yeah, this is pretty much as the Albis kind
- 22:52Speaker 3: of territory, isn't it. Really?
- 22:55Speaker 2: I went, probably, I don't know if this is mainstream
- 22:58Speaker 2: or not. Craig explained to me how in the year
- 23:01Speaker 2: twenty twenty six, the guy who is leading the major
- 23:05Speaker 2: leagues in stolen bases is only sixty five percent owned
- 23:10Speaker 2: in Nasi nas Nascy nunaz Man.
- 23:14Speaker 3: I've got him at shortstop.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Well, he's played eighty two games a second.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's true. The reason I put him at
- 23:22Speaker 3: shortstop was because I put Cole Yug at second base.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Yeah it's yeah. I played with the mid either one.
- 23:27Speaker 2: I actually just look to see which one he played
- 23:29Speaker 2: more at. But regardless, this is insane, so youus it.
- 23:33Speaker 2: You'll probably have some takes on him too. But he's
- 23:35Speaker 2: hit to a decent average and he's in that Washington
- 23:38Speaker 2: lineup that you're talking about. Really, it kind of strikes
- 23:41Speaker 2: me as a thirty leagues he is going to be.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Owned, but it's thirty seven stolen basis to be precise,
- 23:48Speaker 3: isn't it that he's gone He's yeah, forty two runs,
- 23:51Speaker 3: and that forty two runs is coming just two hundred
- 23:54Speaker 3: and seventy six at bats, so you're looking at sort
- 23:57Speaker 3: of one hundred run pace over a full season of ours.
- 24:01Speaker 3: And the thing that also picked my interest is is
- 24:04Speaker 3: on decent form as well. His last thirty days, he's
- 24:07Speaker 3: got ten stolen bases and hitting over three hundred and
- 24:11Speaker 3: getting on base over thirty eight percent of the time.
- 24:14Speaker 3: So it's not I'm not necessarily expecting that to stay.
- 24:17Speaker 3: But stolen bases are not the easiest things to come by,
- 24:22Speaker 3: as we know, and he is a very reliable source
- 24:25Speaker 3: of them, especially if he can get on at that
- 24:28Speaker 3: near Although he's hit three hundred to the last month,
- 24:32Speaker 3: he is only back in two forty six for the season,
- 24:34Speaker 3: but maybe somewhere in the middle, it's more reasonable to expect,
- 24:38Speaker 3: especially with the speed. But yeah, like you said, that
- 24:42Speaker 3: Nationals lineup if they can if he can get on base,
- 24:45Speaker 3: and that Nationals lineup can start batting in I think
- 24:49Speaker 3: James Wood's still leading off, isn't it if Noons is
- 24:51Speaker 3: backing near the bottom of the lineup pretty much absolutely.
- 24:56Speaker 2: If you look at the last few games, he's bat
- 24:58Speaker 2: at seventh, eighth or no. The only batting places he's
- 25:02Speaker 2: had in the last couple of weeks. That's basically he
- 25:04Speaker 2: had one start. He had one time he went out
- 25:08Speaker 2: and batted second this year. Other than that, it's been
- 25:11Speaker 2: six through ninth. How does somebody lead the major leagues
- 25:14Speaker 2: and stolen bases from that place in the lineup? Pray, Yeah.
- 25:17Speaker 3: But the other thing is, when you've got James Wood
- 25:19Speaker 3: leading off, it's not a bad place necessarily to Yes,
- 25:23Speaker 3: you're going to get fewer out bats, but you got
- 25:25Speaker 3: you got James Wood must be leading the league or
- 25:29Speaker 3: very close to in runs. It must have a healthy
- 25:32Speaker 3: amount of RBIs as well. It's not a bad spot
- 25:35Speaker 3: for him. Sometimes a few less that bats for a
- 25:38Speaker 3: guy like new Nurse, who isn't going to be amongst
- 25:42Speaker 3: counting stats kind of guy isn't a bad thing when
- 25:45Speaker 3: you're hitting in front of a rely but very good
- 25:46Speaker 3: it's James Wood.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right about It's interesting about the Nationals. You're
- 25:52Speaker 2: right about them in terms of their rebuilding team. They're
- 25:55Speaker 2: one that I can everybody's started to give up for
- 25:58Speaker 2: dead on. They traded off what Kensey Gorn other guys
- 26:01Speaker 2: in the preseason. They're fifty and fifty. They have the
- 26:04Speaker 2: same record as the Rangers. They would basically be in
- 26:08Speaker 2: fighting for a playoff position in the AL. In the NL,
- 26:12Speaker 2: it's a different story. There's a lot more teams that
- 26:15Speaker 2: are higher for the ranks, but still d Backs Cardinals
- 26:18Speaker 2: just barely ahead of them.
- 26:19Speaker 3: But it's not just them, it's like the Pirates. I
- 26:24Speaker 3: don't know now, but a couple of weeks ago, when
- 26:26Speaker 3: someone posted in the chat like being negative about paraphrasing
- 26:32Speaker 3: someone was undervalueing a pirate or said, why are they
- 26:35Speaker 3: undervalueing this pirate? Someone said because it's the Pirates, and
- 26:39Speaker 3: I was like, that batting lineup has been really performing
- 26:42Speaker 3: this year. They had three they've got three guys in
- 26:44Speaker 3: the top twenty five in baseball, or they did who
- 26:48Speaker 3: were in the top forty three guys in the top
- 26:50Speaker 3: twenty five leaders for LBI in the hole of baseball,
- 26:53Speaker 3: Brian Reynolds has the second most runs in the National League.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Something ridiculous like that. Again, a lineup that you consider
- 27:00Speaker 3: in your own mind through over time just being weak
- 27:04Speaker 3: and there's not gonna be much run support and the
- 27:07Speaker 3: opportunities and all of that jazz. They're right up there
- 27:10Speaker 3: in the numbers, Like in terms of fantasy starts, right
- 27:13Speaker 3: up there. Season we're talking about, they.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Would be a game and a half clear in the
- 27:19Speaker 2: ALE West and they would be one game back in
- 27:22Speaker 2: the AL Central the Pirates, and they're in fourth place
- 27:24Speaker 2: in the NL Central because the NL Central is for
- 27:27Speaker 2: the first the Central is the juggernaut.
- 27:29Speaker 3: Right now, there really are, Yeah, West, It's a bit
- 27:31Speaker 3: of a mess at the moment. To be fair, boy,
- 27:34Speaker 3: it is.
- 27:35Speaker 2: It is, There's no question about that. But yeah, So
- 27:39Speaker 2: when we come back to Nason Nunez, I think a
- 27:41Speaker 2: worthy guy to consider here. I don't know how. It
- 27:44Speaker 2: may be one of those things you talked about how
- 27:46Speaker 2: his average has gone up during the year. When a
- 27:48Speaker 2: guy starts out with a low average, you start thinking,
- 27:51Speaker 2: you start putting him in a box as the guy
- 27:54Speaker 2: who will get your steals, but he'll kill your bat
- 27:57Speaker 2: in average. Yeah, I'm trying to was Hoseig heaby did
- 28:00Speaker 2: he have an awful batting average too? I soon remember
- 28:03Speaker 2: that he did. These guys who are just going to
- 28:05Speaker 2: get you the stolen bases, but they're gonna murder everything else. Now,
- 28:08Speaker 2: some Nunias might not do that. He might be Okay,
- 28:11Speaker 2: you're batting average, and when you leaks.
- 28:14Speaker 3: You find sometimes guys like that can be have really
- 28:20Speaker 3: fluctuating averages. If you think back to Michael Bourne, Like
- 28:25Speaker 3: Michael Bourne could hit three twenty or he could hit
- 28:29Speaker 3: two forty, and if you ever drafted him after he
- 28:33Speaker 3: had hit three hundred with our gazillion stills, you'd be
- 28:36Speaker 3: aving to draft him in the third round or something,
- 28:39Speaker 3: but you were never going to get anything more than that.
- 28:42Speaker 3: It was always a bad draft move because you were
- 28:44Speaker 3: never ever he was never ever gonna outperform his ADP
- 28:48Speaker 3: on a very good season. So I always just think
- 28:51Speaker 3: with guys like that, Nasie knew as that batting average
- 28:54Speaker 3: can really fluctuate with speedy guys. There's so many little
- 28:59Speaker 3: factors that can make the difference with getting hits and knots,
- 29:03Speaker 3: because we're all about guys that don't have yet anything
- 29:06Speaker 3: really in the power tank.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, on to shortstop, Craig, what do you got.
- 29:11Speaker 3: I've got a third base before I've got shortstop. And
- 29:14Speaker 3: that's Eve Nunez was my shortstop, but third base spit
- 29:18Speaker 3: more cheese on toast. I've got a zequal Duran eligible
- 29:22Speaker 3: at first base, second base, third base, shortstop, outfield. I
- 29:26Speaker 3: don't think has actually played a ton of third base,
- 29:28Speaker 3: but I put him here because he fits into the
- 29:31Speaker 3: mostly in the seventy percent mold, and it is quite
- 29:34Speaker 3: barren is third base. Three hundred and six outbats on
- 29:37Speaker 3: the ear, ten home runs and seven stolen bases, forty
- 29:41Speaker 3: one runs and fifty RBIs, which surprised me. And he's
- 29:45Speaker 3: hitting two sixty five for the year, which isn't a
- 29:49Speaker 3: killer so boring. Not a ton of power, not a
- 29:54Speaker 3: ton of speed, but a little bit of both doesn't
- 29:56Speaker 3: kill your average. Plenty of paying time and eligible absolutely
- 30:01Speaker 3: everywhere except for catcher, So just seemed solid cheese on
- 30:06Speaker 3: toast to me.
- 30:08Speaker 2: I don't think I've ever had cheese on toast. I'm
- 30:10Speaker 2: a little I don't know what I would do with it.
- 30:13Speaker 2: What kind of cheese exactly? Is this some sort of
- 30:15Speaker 2: weird British cheese?
- 30:16Speaker 3: No, you don't have cheese on toast over there?
- 30:18Speaker 2: Are you throwing velveto on that thing? Craig?
- 30:20Speaker 3: You so traditional cheese traditional cheese on toastes. So you
- 30:28Speaker 3: have bread, I know, you have bread and you have cheese,
- 30:30Speaker 3: so you get.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Like wet in Wisconsin.
- 30:35Speaker 3: You get all sorts of cheeses everywhere these days. Didn't
- 30:37Speaker 3: you gout just something like a mature cheddar or something
- 30:40Speaker 3: like that. You grate it and then you you toast
- 30:44Speaker 3: one side of the bread and then take it out
- 30:46Speaker 3: the toast, and then you put the cheese on the
- 30:48Speaker 3: non toasted side and had a little bit of Worcester
- 30:51Speaker 3: sauce or Tabasco sauce, you know, whatever tickles your fancy.
- 30:55Speaker 3: You put that under the You put that under the grill,
- 30:58Speaker 3: and then it all bubbles up and it's melted cheese
- 31:01Speaker 3: on toast.
- 31:02Speaker 2: You mean, okay, I have so many questions. First of all,
- 31:05Speaker 2: what do you mean by put it under a grill?
- 31:07Speaker 2: Didn't you just put it in a toaster? Are you
- 31:08Speaker 2: warming up? Two implements for this?
- 31:10Speaker 3: No, proper cheese on toast has to be done underneath
- 31:12Speaker 3: the grill. So you know, obviously we have toasters, but
- 31:17Speaker 3: if you're don't proper cheese on toast, you want the
- 31:19Speaker 3: cheese to be underneath the heat to bubble up and
- 31:22Speaker 3: melt properly, do you know what I mean? So?
- 31:27Speaker 2: Okay, So then you're throwing wooster sauce, which I've never
- 31:31Speaker 2: taken on anything but a steak, or in a recipe.
- 31:34Speaker 3: What's sauce or tabasco sauce or you know, whatever tickles
- 31:39Speaker 3: your fancy different tastes.
- 31:41Speaker 2: That sounds pretty darn good, Craig Tomorrow.
- 31:46Speaker 3: Now when you want to upgrade, you've got beans with
- 31:52Speaker 3: melcher cheese on top of toast.
- 31:55Speaker 2: No, I know you lost me there. The doing extreme
- 31:58Speaker 2: toast things was going to work.
- 32:00Speaker 3: Biting, But you haven't lived in two had baked beans, Honestly, Jack, and.
- 32:06Speaker 2: Everybody around me has not lived after I've had baked beans.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true. That's true.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Okay, let's go. I'm I'm gonna see your cheese toast
- 32:16Speaker 2: and raise you some some unseasoned oatmeal. With Willie Castro
- 32:21Speaker 2: at third base again, this is a guy who is
- 32:24Speaker 2: eligible absolutely everywhere. Again, he would have been still a
- 32:27Speaker 2: good second base option for me, but he's a Araqi.
- 32:32Speaker 2: He's been hitting. He's got three home runs in his
- 32:35Speaker 2: last what six games as we record this, his average
- 32:39Speaker 2: is solid to sixty three. That's plenty good enough for
- 32:42Speaker 2: what you need nine home runs on the year. Of course,
- 32:45Speaker 2: like I said, it is just rising because of some
- 32:47Speaker 2: of those recent ones and the ability to just put
- 32:49Speaker 2: him anywhere, and six stolen bases on top of that.
- 32:52Speaker 3: I supposically it's a carbon copy here of a sequel Geratte.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Isn't it absolute carbon copy?
- 32:59Speaker 2: There's hope, there's always hope that the Texans will upgrade.
- 33:02Speaker 2: I don't know that there's hope or really reason. Texas
- 33:05Speaker 2: Rangers are in first place, so they I think they'll
- 33:08Speaker 2: keep Duran is going to be a super sub regardless.
- 33:11Speaker 2: He's going to stand there.
- 33:12Speaker 3: But I could counter that with there's also the chance
- 33:16Speaker 3: but the Tigers just being terrible trading Willie Castro when
- 33:19Speaker 3: someone was saying, actually we could use a utility bench
- 33:22Speaker 3: back be perfect for us.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Yes, I don't know what happened. There was it an
- 33:32Speaker 2: off season deal? Yeah, it must have been an off
- 33:34Speaker 2: season signing because yeah, I still think of him as attacker.
- 33:38Speaker 2: That's how anonymous he is. Craig. He can slip on
- 33:42Speaker 2: in divisions west east to west and we cannot know it.
- 33:45Speaker 3: Let's move on from our cheese on toast and o mare.
- 33:48Speaker 3: When sticking with the Rockies. My outfielder is your boy. Yep,
- 33:56Speaker 3: there he is, yeah hundred, only one hundred and four
- 34:01Speaker 3: rap bats on the season, but just three home runs,
- 34:05Speaker 3: cup of stolen bases, but contributed quite nicely in the
- 34:09Speaker 3: runs and RBI department with twenty six runs twenty five
- 34:12Speaker 3: RBIs making a ton of contacts in two eighty eight
- 34:16Speaker 3: and one prospect pedigree there come into the league, performing nicely.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Playing time isn't going to be too much of an issue.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Only sixty eight percent owned. That could rise if this continues. Jesse,
- 34:30Speaker 3: I know you're a big fan, and I thought that
- 34:33Speaker 3: you'd probably have him here as well. Anything to add
- 34:36Speaker 3: on top of what I said, not much.
- 34:39Speaker 2: He's slowed down a little bit recently. He really got
- 34:41Speaker 2: hot there for a while. He was up to well
- 34:44Speaker 2: over three hundred, and now he's calmed down a little bit.
- 34:47Speaker 2: But yeah, he's just he's a good player. He's in
- 34:50Speaker 2: a good situation. And it seems like the Rockies, even
- 34:54Speaker 2: though I just teased them a moment ago, there's good
- 34:57Speaker 2: things happening there. There's better things happening there.
- 35:00Speaker 3: I turned to a bit like Cole Young. There's something
- 35:04Speaker 3: to dream on here. It isn't just cheese on toast
- 35:08Speaker 3: or unseasoned oat meal. If there's guys that you are
- 35:12Speaker 3: potentially gonna trade for longer than necessarily this season, you
- 35:18Speaker 3: know you're looking at your Curtis Mejia, Cole Young's and
- 35:21Speaker 3: Cora carriage as having that something to dream on. It
- 35:25Speaker 3: doesn't mean it's a guarantee that it's all going to
- 35:28Speaker 3: work out and they'll be fine and stuff, but you're
- 35:31Speaker 3: certainly wanting to take a bit more of a gamble on.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Yeah, all right. My first guy that I'm going to
- 35:37Speaker 2: throw into this Craig is aj Ewing of the Mets.
- 35:41Speaker 2: I'm kind of surprised. Maybe that's just because he was
- 35:45Speaker 2: was a prospect with maybe not quite as much name
- 35:48Speaker 2: value coming into the year. But he's come up, he's
- 35:51Speaker 2: gotten established seven.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Holds, and fam gave up a first for him, didn't.
- 35:55Speaker 2: He What did Vam give up for me for? Could I? Singer?
- 36:00Speaker 3: I think he gave a first for you?
- 36:03Speaker 1: Ing?
- 36:03Speaker 3: I think, and I think didn't you give you a third?
- 36:05Speaker 3: For Senger? I think he gave you a third or something?
- 36:07Speaker 2: It might have been something, Yeah, it was something.
- 36:10Speaker 3: I'm not criticized in the move. Get your guy, and
- 36:13Speaker 3: every single one of us will draft guys in the
- 36:15Speaker 3: first round who will turn into Zilch not even make
- 36:19Speaker 3: the majors, or if they do be or it's not
- 36:22Speaker 3: a criticism at all.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Just and by the way, he has won an overall
- 36:26Speaker 2: title and three sport Now you and I have as well,
- 36:29Speaker 2: but fam has always been like this and he freaking
- 36:32Speaker 2: wins titles, so it's hard to complain.
- 36:35Speaker 3: So then that's the beauty of this kind of format,
- 36:38Speaker 3: I think, or the three spot kind of form. It
- 36:40Speaker 3: really does allow lots of different strategies to be successful.
- 36:46Speaker 3: And there's so much flexibility within your trading, within your
- 36:50Speaker 3: roster construction, where you prioritize your assets and how you
- 36:53Speaker 3: shift your afflets. There is no right or wrong way.
- 36:57Speaker 3: Some people live a lot more for than now out
- 37:00Speaker 3: and devalue the picks, and others don't. And you know,
- 37:04Speaker 3: like you and I get to a point where we
- 37:06Speaker 3: probably overvalue picks, but always can work. And as we're
- 37:10Speaker 3: finding out this year and last year, it's in all sports,
- 37:15Speaker 3: it's fun. The bottoms moved up and the tops moved down,
- 37:17Speaker 3: it's bunching right up. Anything can happen.
- 37:21Speaker 2: And again I will just take a moment, because I
- 37:24Speaker 2: do tease him on the show somewhat. But our man,
- 37:27Speaker 2: fam Rob is he has made. He has zegged in
- 37:31Speaker 2: a way that most of this league doesn't. He almost
- 37:34Speaker 2: never makes a pick in the draft. He sees he
- 37:36Speaker 2: gets five new picks come online. He sees that as
- 37:39Speaker 2: five opportunities to upgrade.
- 37:41Speaker 3: But but he's got an overall title. He's one football
- 37:44Speaker 3: two or three times. I think, doesn't it it's if
- 37:47Speaker 3: the system works, system works for the system works, and
- 37:50Speaker 3: just winning the overall title is essentially five buy ins?
- 37:55Speaker 3: Isn't it for five years worth of buy ins to
- 37:58Speaker 3: chuck his football wins in the And there's probably some
- 38:01Speaker 3: cash outs in baseball, possibly basketball, I don't know. But
- 38:05Speaker 3: Fan's up in terms of his involvement in terms of
- 38:09Speaker 3: profit in the league. Yeah, and he doesn't go the
- 38:11Speaker 3: pick rail.
- 38:13Speaker 2: He is an accountant, so I think he's figured this
- 38:15Speaker 2: out anyway. All right, why don't we take a quick break.
- 38:18Speaker 2: We're gonna come back and we're gonna go over some
- 38:21Speaker 2: more players. Okay, Craig, we're back. We're one outfielder down,
- 38:42Speaker 2: two outfielders to go. Who you got next?
- 38:46Speaker 3: Tommy Edmund another Dodger back from injury, sixty two percent
- 38:50Speaker 3: owned second base outfield eligible, and it's only had seventy
- 38:56Speaker 3: six at bats this year. And then those seventy six
- 38:59Speaker 3: out bats, it's got play home runs on a couple
- 39:00Speaker 3: of stolen bases, but it's making plenty of contact fifty
- 39:05Speaker 3: one getting on base at four thirty clip. Again, very
- 39:10Speaker 3: small sample size on just seventy six at bats, but
- 39:13Speaker 3: it's Dodgers lineup. There's We're at that point of the
- 39:16Speaker 3: season where there's injuries and opportunities to play. Edmunds shown
- 39:22Speaker 3: flashes of power surges before, He's shown flashes off stolen bases,
- 39:26Speaker 3: light surges before, and because of the injuries, really devalued
- 39:32Speaker 3: his ownership. It's a guy I'm more than willing to
- 39:34Speaker 3: take a gamble on at that price, just given the
- 39:39Speaker 3: upside of the lineup.
- 39:42Speaker 2: We remember Edmund for being really good and flexible in
- 39:48Speaker 2: his Cardinals years, and I tend to think of him
- 39:51Speaker 2: as older than he is. He's only thirty one.
- 39:54Speaker 3: And I think of him as a bit younger. I
- 39:57Speaker 3: think of him as twenty nine.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Maybe because we haven't seen him as much, that's part
- 40:01Speaker 2: of it. But he hasn't had more than four hundred
- 40:03Speaker 2: plate appearances. He was a Cardinal back in twenty twenty three,
- 40:06Speaker 2: he came into the Dodgers. He's been injured, but when
- 40:10Speaker 2: he's around. Actually, his first two years of the Dodgers,
- 40:14Speaker 2: he was Those were his two relatively bad seasons for
- 40:18Speaker 2: him as a hitter. Last year was his.
- 40:20Speaker 3: I think both years he started really hot and then
- 40:23Speaker 3: just fell off a cliff. Like judging by his injury history,
- 40:27Speaker 3: he might have actually literally fell off a cliff.
- 40:29Speaker 2: But I've been to both Saint Louis and California. I
- 40:34Speaker 2: haven't been to La believe it or not, but I've
- 40:36Speaker 2: been to more cliffs in California than they are on Missouri.
- 40:40Speaker 3: I love that.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Yeah, we have there's ways in California.
- 40:44Speaker 3: We have loads of cliffs here because I live on
- 40:46Speaker 3: the South coast and it's they've got the White Cliffs
- 40:49Speaker 3: of Dover and so that's not far from here, and
- 40:53Speaker 3: it's yeah, plenty of cliffs around here. So Tommy Edmund
- 40:55Speaker 3: don't come to Bryan on holiday.
- 40:59Speaker 2: Tommy Edmund is a good pick there. If he can
- 41:02Speaker 2: stick in that Dodger's lineup, it could be terrifying. I
- 41:06Speaker 2: am going to go with a guy who's underperformed a
- 41:09Speaker 2: little bit. But I have some I'm kind of betting
- 41:12Speaker 2: on the com this time, and that's going to be
- 41:14Speaker 2: Bradon Montgomery of the White Sox. And I'm not saying
- 41:18Speaker 2: he's got a season behind him that is worthy of
- 41:23Speaker 2: much more, much more ownership than he's had, but he's
- 41:28Speaker 2: still getting himself established in the major leagues.
- 41:32Speaker 3: Another team who have a surprisingly decent offense, despite the
- 41:39Speaker 3: facts at the start of the year people wouldn't touch
- 41:41Speaker 3: their hitters because they didn't think it will be pretty
- 41:46Speaker 3: hollow starts.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Really, Yeah, he's a big time prospect. He's come up,
- 41:51Speaker 2: he's got some good things, a good average exit VLO,
- 41:55Speaker 2: he's got a few things that are working for him already,
- 41:57Speaker 2: and even though he's kind of gone through a little
- 42:00Speaker 2: bit of the ringer, I think that there's better times
- 42:03Speaker 2: ahead in I guess if I'm guessing on some of
- 42:07Speaker 2: these second half guys, I'm going to say that that
- 42:11Speaker 2: Brida Montgomery's in your future is going to be better
- 42:13Speaker 2: than his first six weeks in the majors.
- 42:15Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a pretty safe bet more often than not,
- 42:19Speaker 3: isn't it.
- 42:20Speaker 2: All Right, who do you have as your third outfielder.
- 42:23Speaker 3: Not terribly exciting. Again on the theory that Pittsburgh's got
- 42:27Speaker 3: a decent lineup, stolen bases reliability is harder to come
- 42:32Speaker 3: by cheap steals. Jake Mangum eighteen stolen bases on the
- 42:38Speaker 3: year at a three hundred average on two hundred and
- 42:41Speaker 3: forty four app bats. Not a ton of power, just
- 42:44Speaker 3: two home runs on the year. But if you can
- 42:46Speaker 3: give me stolen bases and a you know, close to
- 42:48Speaker 3: three hundred average in a decent Pittsburgh Pirates offense, that
- 42:52Speaker 3: feels still feels weird to say. I think it's a
- 42:55Speaker 3: value at just forty three percent owned.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's I think that's another good pick
- 43:01Speaker 2: in that In the aforementioned Twilight Draft, I did take Mangum,
- 43:05Speaker 2: I think in the last round, and I was, again,
- 43:07Speaker 2: who is this guy?
- 43:08Speaker 3: But he is at the type of Rice, wasn't I
- 43:11Speaker 3: think it was at the Rice had a hot start,
- 43:15Speaker 3: and yeah, it finds himself and the Rays just tend
- 43:19Speaker 3: to have everybody at some point, didn't they.
- 43:23Speaker 2: All Right, Craig, I am gonna throw a huge curveball here.
- 43:27Speaker 2: This is a player's name I never expected to say.
- 43:32Speaker 2: I almost thought was too much to even bring up
- 43:34Speaker 2: as a prospect as a failed prospect, because it was
- 43:38Speaker 2: almost too cruel. But Craig Khalil Watson is kind of
- 43:42Speaker 2: fantasy relevant now. Is it sustainable, Yeah, probably not. But
- 43:48Speaker 2: he's already got nine stolen bases in his first eighty
- 43:51Speaker 2: six Major League at bats. He's battery not disastrous two
- 43:57Speaker 2: thirty three. Now that the challenge with him is his
- 44:03Speaker 2: his average has really dropped off from June to July.
- 44:05Speaker 2: So far we're still we're not all the way through
- 44:07Speaker 2: the July, so you don't know about the whole sample,
- 44:09Speaker 2: but his stolen bases have spiked. He's had seven stolen
- 44:12Speaker 2: bases in forty eight at bats just this month. I
- 44:16Speaker 2: have a feeling that we talk about the guy who's
- 44:18Speaker 2: going to get you to the stolen bases maybe hurt
- 44:21Speaker 2: your batting average. Look no further than Khalil Watson, who
- 44:24Speaker 2: also is in the the traditional desert of the Cleveland
- 44:31Speaker 2: Guardians outfield where they just can't seem post Grady size
- 44:34Speaker 2: more especially with Kwan, just talk about he is the
- 44:38Speaker 2: White Cliffs of Dover collapsing into the sea. Because Stephen
- 44:41Speaker 2: Kwan is.
- 44:42Speaker 3: Just Greggie saw. It was not wasn't it. It was
- 44:45Speaker 3: like for good, he just not forty season, went till ten.
- 44:52Speaker 3: In drafts, you know, everyone's darling at pick six or whatever,
- 44:56Speaker 3: and that's yeah, that was it. It's pretty much guy.
- 44:59Speaker 3: So I'm hearing is you're basically saying Khalil Watson is
- 45:03Speaker 3: the Shawshank redemption. Redemption just more more tunneling through shit
- 45:07Speaker 3: and no redemption. It's hard to a little bit of redemption.
- 45:13Speaker 2: This guy was absolutely dump. He was left for dead
- 45:17Speaker 2: in the minor row the Marlins picked him. He was
- 45:21Speaker 2: almost a example of how the Marlins were drafting poorly
- 45:26Speaker 2: because he just but he was.
- 45:28Speaker 3: He was Eric Cross's boy, so he was well off
- 45:30Speaker 3: the whitlist before it even started. I think I think
- 45:34Speaker 3: he had him as his ninth top prospect before he
- 45:36Speaker 3: was even drafted or something, or straight out the draft
- 45:39Speaker 3: was ninth overall prospect, not ninth and first year player draft.
- 45:42Speaker 3: So it was insane. So that that told me enough.
- 45:46Speaker 2: That was one of those years that there were lots
- 45:48Speaker 2: of big time shortstops coming out call and he was
- 45:53Speaker 2: the one who just boy while some of them rose.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Was he the same year as I'd be wit or
- 45:58Speaker 2: something like that?
- 46:00Speaker 3: Do you know what, You get to a point where
- 46:02Speaker 3: the years just blend into one, don't they. It's been
- 46:05Speaker 3: what like twenty seven years playing this game for me,
- 46:10Speaker 3: three of them twenty four of them have been like Dynasty,
- 46:13Speaker 3: so no twenty one starting in two thousand and five
- 46:16Speaker 3: or two thousand and four. So yeah, a lot of
- 46:18Speaker 3: the draft years just blend into one.
- 46:19Speaker 2: If like, man, this guy was a belly flop and yeah,
- 46:23Speaker 2: now he's actually relevant. We'll see how long that lasts.
- 46:27Speaker 3: But knows again, but again, but again, sometimes there's like
- 46:33Speaker 3: we were talking earlier with sort of your col Carrigs
- 46:35Speaker 3: and your Cole Youngs. Sometimes it's worth just taking that
- 46:40Speaker 3: punt on something to dream on, rather than your Zegraal
- 46:43Speaker 3: Duran's and your Willie Castros that you just know are
- 46:47Speaker 3: not going to be anything more than what they are,
- 46:49Speaker 3: if that makes sense.
- 46:51Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, was Watson? Was he the one who got
- 46:54Speaker 2: thrown out of a minor league game?
- 46:56Speaker 3: Yeah he had he had seen Yeah, he had a
- 47:00Speaker 3: few disciplinary issues shows so touch of the dama ants.
- 47:04Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. I was just gonna say Chummer had the
- 47:07Speaker 2: dummerand and baseball only as.
- 47:11Speaker 3: They'll probably retire about the same time. I Reckon as well,
- 47:14Speaker 3: like twenty twenty eight.
- 47:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it won't be long for jah. Okay, let's move
- 47:20Speaker 2: on to the pitching side. We said we're doing three
- 47:22Speaker 2: three starters and a reliever. So who's your first starter?
- 47:25Speaker 3: I thought you just said three sharters.
- 47:27Speaker 2: I think for wells you Yeah, I think the pictures
- 47:33Speaker 2: were tougher even than there.
- 47:35Speaker 3: No, I didn't. I found I found the pictures. No,
- 47:38Speaker 3: I found the pictures a bit more interesting. But I
- 47:42Speaker 3: think I found the picture is a bit more interesting
- 47:44Speaker 3: because pitching has just been so unpredictable this year. It's
- 47:49Speaker 3: tough out there because I felt this year, now bear
- 47:53Speaker 3: in mind only playing one baseball league and that's free sport,
- 47:56Speaker 3: but I felt I've really had to work really hard
- 47:59Speaker 3: to construc up my like pitching roster this year. Not
- 48:02Speaker 3: helped that. Basically, all my clothes, all five of my clothes,
- 48:05Speaker 3: have pretty much spent significant time on DL. But I
- 48:08Speaker 3: R whatever it is. But I'm happy where I'm at now.
- 48:11Speaker 3: But I've really had to chin and ban and really
- 48:14Speaker 3: got lucky with picking up Sean Berg after someone dropped
- 48:17Speaker 3: in JT. Gin has been more than serviceable. Lucky to
- 48:21Speaker 3: pick up those guys but I found there's a lot
- 48:22Speaker 3: of guys that have been in that bracket which are
- 48:25Speaker 3: interesting enough for me that I found it easier than
- 48:27Speaker 3: the it is. But first one I got is not
- 48:31Speaker 3: particularly exciting as a picture, but consistent and he just
- 48:35Speaker 3: all he does is seemed to do it nearing week
- 48:38Speaker 3: in week out, and that seventy four percent. And Houston
- 48:41Speaker 3: Astro's picture Paul Lambert. They were high on this guy
- 48:45Speaker 3: in the off season, brought him over from career or
- 48:48Speaker 3: wherever it was. Type. I don't follow that nonsense over there,
- 48:53Speaker 3: but ninety two innings pitch on the year, ninety one
- 48:55Speaker 3: ks and the K numbers are fine. Eight wins, seven
- 48:58Speaker 3: quality starts and a three point three e R and
- 49:01Speaker 3: a one point one whip. It's just been missed a
- 49:04Speaker 3: consistency for my team, and he still just keeps like
- 49:07Speaker 3: even now, just I feel so comfortable putting in my
- 49:10Speaker 3: line up week in week out. Austroi's lineup isn't great,
- 49:14Speaker 3: not winning a ton of games, but I just feel
- 49:16Speaker 3: confident it's going to go out there and get me
- 49:18Speaker 3: under three, under two or three and runs every time
- 49:21Speaker 3: with a K and N and type guy with decent
- 49:24Speaker 3: whip numbers. He's twenty nine as well.
- 49:28Speaker 2: I need to average. Came out with tetsu Emi and
- 49:32Speaker 2: you brought in some great pictures from the Far East
- 49:35Speaker 2: this year. Yeah, oh yeah, No, I like that pick.
- 49:40Speaker 2: He's a guy who definitely has snuck up, but this
- 49:43Speaker 2: is what happens sometimes the guys who go over there
- 49:45Speaker 2: and come back and have done something different with their
- 49:49Speaker 2: craft have a second life in the Major League. So yeah,
- 49:51Speaker 2: but Peter Lambert was definitely on my He's just barely
- 49:54Speaker 2: under the seventy five percent threshold, but still.
- 49:58Speaker 3: It's the eye test thing as well. I'm a huge
- 50:00Speaker 3: Astro's fan, but I don't feel that well. The guy's
- 50:03Speaker 3: basically got three eer on half a season. His whip
- 50:07Speaker 3: is one point one. Opponents are batting under two hundred
- 50:10Speaker 3: against him. It's just mister reliable and he just looks
- 50:15Speaker 3: in control and comfortable virtually every game that I see him.
- 50:19Speaker 3: So I think he's under range because I think that
- 50:21Speaker 3: there's a lot to be said for a nine kper
- 50:24Speaker 3: nine type of guy who has that low eer low whip,
- 50:28Speaker 3: even in a mediocre ish style. Jordan Alvarez isn't mediocre,
- 50:33Speaker 3: but the lineup isn't for the Jordan alvarezs, but I
- 50:37Speaker 3: think he's massively undervalued.
- 50:40Speaker 2: I will start, and the reason I found this a
- 50:44Speaker 2: more challenging exercise is I feel like it's not that
- 50:49Speaker 2: Peter Lambert has been consistent that consistency has been lacking
- 50:54Speaker 2: in the guys that we're looking at here. I feel
- 50:56Speaker 2: like there's all of guys here who could if I
- 51:00Speaker 2: was actually drifting them for a team, could destroy your
- 51:03Speaker 2: season once starts with what this type.
- 51:06Speaker 3: There's a whole load of your sort of you're a
- 51:09Speaker 3: Rainaldo Lopez and Martin Perez types out there which are
- 51:13Speaker 3: given enough hope to be interested. But how much trust
- 51:16Speaker 3: can you put in kind of things? Do you know
- 51:17Speaker 3: what I mean?
- 51:18Speaker 2: Yeah? My first pick here is actually a guy who
- 51:22Speaker 2: at least has been fairly consistent, although his results haven't
- 51:25Speaker 2: been through the roof, but we've seen some kind of
- 51:28Speaker 2: promise in the past, and that's Brandon five. He is
- 51:31Speaker 2: at least since he's been returned from the bullpen, four
- 51:37Speaker 2: straight wins and four straight starts he's had over He's
- 51:40Speaker 2: had five or more innings in all four of those starts.
- 51:43Speaker 2: He doesn't strike anybody out is part of his problem,
- 51:46Speaker 2: and that does not portend well for his long term
- 51:50Speaker 2: success in MLB. But again, hasn't had really that that
- 51:54Speaker 2: disaster start, or at least not in quite a while.
- 51:57Speaker 2: Two point three e er here in July and four
- 52:01Speaker 2: point two six in June, but he didn't play all
- 52:04Speaker 2: that much in June. He's had that. That was because
- 52:07Speaker 2: again he was in the bullpen for some of that time.
- 52:09Speaker 2: But I don't know, Craig, it's a rough it's a
- 52:13Speaker 2: rough group here, but.
- 52:15Speaker 3: Which the description that you just gave pretty much could
- 52:19Speaker 3: have been the exact same description for my next guy.
- 52:24Speaker 3: Four winds in a row doesn't strike anybody out Jake Bennett.
- 52:31Speaker 3: So he's got four winds in a row, four winds
- 52:34Speaker 3: in the Red Sox. Red Sox are red hot at
- 52:38Speaker 3: the moment, like they looked from being well out of
- 52:40Speaker 3: it to some ridiculous thirteen game winning streak or whatever
- 52:44Speaker 3: it was. But he's won his last four starts he's pitched.
- 52:48Speaker 3: He's only had nine starts on the year of bullpen
- 52:51Speaker 3: stuff as well, fifty three innings pitched, but only thirty
- 52:55Speaker 3: eight k's so, like you said, doesn't strike out a ton.
- 53:00Speaker 3: He's got two five ERA and a zero point eight
- 53:03Speaker 3: seven six whip so classic innings eater there, doesn't it.
- 53:09Speaker 3: And I don't mind riding those innings eaters for those
- 53:12Speaker 3: quality starts and potential wins and era and Whip help
- 53:16Speaker 3: whilst they're hot.
- 53:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that is That is fine, and I'm
- 53:23Speaker 2: going to hop on my soapbox for just a second, Craig,
- 53:27Speaker 2: I don't want to hear it from Red Sox fans
- 53:29Speaker 2: that their ownership is cheap or that their team has
- 53:32Speaker 2: been mismanaged. I think that the rap Field Devers trade
- 53:36Speaker 2: is looking okay in retrospect. I don't know the Rafield Devors.
- 53:40Speaker 2: I don't think that was done. Even at the time,
- 53:42Speaker 2: I didn't think that was done.
- 53:43Speaker 3: Would they want to be playing Mookie Pett's four hundred
- 53:45Speaker 3: million or what a three hundred and fifty million?
- 53:47Speaker 2: Now, That's the thing is, I think people totally lose
- 53:52Speaker 2: track of They totally lose track of that. The people
- 53:56Speaker 2: have lost track of the fact that the way that
- 53:58Speaker 2: the the way that MLB has constructed their salary, and
- 54:02Speaker 2: I know I've been on this one multiple times here.
- 54:04Speaker 2: They've made it punitive basically to have the veterans on
- 54:09Speaker 2: their team because there's so much they are paid so
- 54:12Speaker 2: much more than the suppressed rookie league scale that they're
- 54:17Speaker 2: almost always an investment that's going to kill your team.
- 54:21Speaker 2: Now it's like, wow, why can't you No, you don't
- 54:24Speaker 2: want that. You don't want Steven Strasburg on your team.
- 54:27Speaker 2: That's not the way this works. You wouldn't want to
- 54:29Speaker 2: be necessarily paying for this portion of Xander Bogart's career,
- 54:33Speaker 2: just like you didn't want to pay for Albert pooholtz
- 54:36Speaker 2: last phase of his career or his mid to last phase.
- 54:39Speaker 2: It's just it's just not a good thing. You don't
- 54:42Speaker 2: want to do that.
- 54:43Speaker 3: Yeah, as an Astros fan and anyone who knows me
- 54:48Speaker 3: will attest to this, but I'm always happy for the
- 54:51Speaker 3: big guys to walk. When you're talking mega money, we can.
- 54:56Speaker 3: I don't want to be tied to a Kyle Tucker
- 54:59Speaker 3: or a at Carl or whoever for nine years god
- 55:04Speaker 3: knows how much money, because I just think it hinders
- 55:08Speaker 3: our flexibility in the future so much. I'd rather suck
- 55:12Speaker 3: for a few years and at least have the flexibility
- 55:15Speaker 3: to do something, then end up with a half dead
- 55:19Speaker 3: Mike Trout taking up so much cap space that it's
- 55:24Speaker 3: just impossible to build around. And another thing about Red
- 55:28Speaker 3: Sox fans, the amount of World Series, Super Bowls, and Chips.
- 55:36Speaker 3: I just I respect, I respect all three franchises a lot,
- 55:40Speaker 3: but I struggle with the woe is Me Alasa Lac
- 55:45Speaker 3: like mentality goes. There's fan bases out there that it
- 55:50Speaker 3: was me for a while as a Baylor, Minnesota Jets
- 55:54Speaker 3: and Astros fan. It was pretty dark there in the
- 55:57Speaker 3: two thousands, still Baylor at the Astros themselves out and
- 56:02Speaker 3: they've got Super Bower after World Series, after NBA Championship,
- 56:07Speaker 3: So a few down years isn't going to hurt. It
- 56:10Speaker 3: really is, especially when you've got the flexibility of not
- 56:15Speaker 3: having those that Mookie Bets contract and the Xander Bogart's
- 56:19Speaker 3: contract on your books. I know they've got Chris Albert,
- 56:22Speaker 3: but do you know what I mean? For all the
- 56:25Speaker 3: criticism it got, I thought it made sense and that's
- 56:28Speaker 3: not revisionist history stuff. I was saying that in the
- 56:31Speaker 3: chat room at the time, and I'll still stand by it.
- 56:33Speaker 3: I wouldn't. I don't want a good Mookie Bets for
- 56:36Speaker 3: a couple of years on a ten year contract or whatever.
- 56:39Speaker 3: I would rather have that flexibility to dip in and
- 56:44Speaker 3: out and offer those good rookie extensions. Throw the throw
- 56:49Speaker 3: four for one hundred a good rookie or whatever. Do
- 56:51Speaker 3: you know what I mean?
- 56:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and they made they took that shot on
- 56:55Speaker 2: Christian Campbell. And if you really want to complain, hey,
- 56:59Speaker 2: they threw the Garrett Crochet, a guy who had significant
- 57:02Speaker 2: career injury history, and now he's one of those guys.
- 57:06Speaker 2: So the time that you thought your team did something particularly,
- 57:09Speaker 2: but you're not entitled to a title every year, dang
- 57:12Speaker 2: it in your four sports. And that's about what they average.
- 57:16Speaker 3: How often does it really work when you have so
- 57:19Speaker 3: much let's eliminate the Dodgers here, but when you have
- 57:22Speaker 3: so much money tied into a couple of positional players,
- 57:27Speaker 3: it never often works. So that might Trout and Otani.
- 57:31Speaker 3: It's I really feel that you spend your money on
- 57:37Speaker 3: your pitching and you try to get the best value
- 57:43Speaker 3: dolla in your hitting, because hitting is one of nine spots. Obviously,
- 57:50Speaker 3: defense matters and stuff like that as well. Pictures fully
- 57:54Speaker 3: influence the game every time they're on the mound, whereas
- 57:57Speaker 3: your one batter in a lineup of nine, the post
- 58:00Speaker 3: got to hit the hit to you for you to
- 58:01Speaker 3: matter on defense.
- 58:03Speaker 2: Okay, so we've made it through that Red Sox pitcher.
- 58:07Speaker 2: I am going to throw out a player whose stats
- 58:10Speaker 2: are never impressive, but he has been rather good for
- 58:15Speaker 2: the season, and that is going to be Bailey Over
- 58:18Speaker 2: of the Minnesota Twins seventy four percent roster. And talk
- 58:21Speaker 2: about guys, we're really talking about guys who can't strike
- 58:24Speaker 2: anybody out. Bailey Over isn't even striking out seven per
- 58:28Speaker 2: nine innings. His walks her a little bit up. But
- 58:31Speaker 2: I'll tell you what that four to three to two
- 58:33Speaker 2: ERA seven and three record even wins in seven to
- 58:37Speaker 2: three and fourteen starts so far this year. He hasn't
- 58:39Speaker 2: even been out there for every start. But the other
- 58:43Speaker 2: thing is Twins have one of the easiest schedules left,
- 58:46Speaker 2: and they have a lot of young guys that they
- 58:49Speaker 2: could bring up. It might not be that bad of
- 58:52Speaker 2: a roster you talk about. The Twins were supposed to
- 58:54Speaker 2: have almost a White Sox level bad roster, and now
- 58:59Speaker 2: the White Sox are really good and the Twins are
- 59:02Speaker 2: They're not bad.
- 59:04Speaker 3: Is there not an argument for a lot of these
- 59:08Speaker 3: prospects to not be called up until after August twenty
- 59:11Speaker 3: sixth now to keep their eligibility next year for the
- 59:15Speaker 3: Rookie of the Year extra pick thing.
- 59:19Speaker 2: Okay, what day did you say there?
- 59:21Speaker 3: I think August twenty sixth is about off to you
- 59:26Speaker 3: call a guy up after that and he's going to
- 59:28Speaker 3: get not enough at bats to still be rookie eligible
- 59:31Speaker 3: next year and thus have the chance that the extra
- 59:35Speaker 3: the extra pick rewards for it. And the Rookie of
- 59:40Speaker 3: the Year isn't always the obvious guy, especially when it
- 59:43Speaker 3: comes to pitching. So yeah, that would be my only
- 59:47Speaker 3: sort of throwback in terms of recording.
- 59:49Speaker 2: There's this is the reason why I wouldn't pick a
- 59:51Speaker 2: Walker Jenkins. And I'll tell you, as I've been writing
- 59:54Speaker 2: up thing freaking everybody who goes to Saint Paul is
- 59:59Speaker 2: getting hurt. The Twins TRIAA is just crazy. Like I'm
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: every other week great for this article I have for
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: write up the major prospects who get injured. And it's
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: like kal and Culpeper and Walker Jenkins and Emanuel Rodriguez
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: and Hegbert Perez is even up there and doing well, right,
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: it's Heedburg. Yeah, they all get hurt in Saint Paul.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: I don't know what the deal. I've been to Saint Paul.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: I didn't get hurt there, but I guess I didn't
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: go to the baseball stadium. But there's something going on.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: But I wouldn't pick Walker Jenkinson's my outfielder. But Bailly
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: over still gets to benefit from the five weeks that
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: he's in the lineup as far as potentially winning the
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: game when teams are out of it, and hey, the
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: Twins could even go for it, right they're one game
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: outside the playoffs.
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: That's an advertised that after all that team and glue
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: in the off season with owner ship, the Twins are
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: losing money left, right and center. They trade it off
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: every one and the team for it.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: It seems like so they last year. Everybody was like
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: traded everybody. There's nobody left on this team well about
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: five hundred now, and there's a reason for that.
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: I think there's an element of romanticism in baseball. We
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: struggle to get in a lot of the other American sports,
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: like in terms of teams that don't look good. Everyone
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: starts zero and zero in March, and there's always a
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: team or two, and this year there's more of them.
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: Whether it's the nationals pirates, White Sox twins that always
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: well outperform what they're expected to do. I remember it
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: was it twenty fifteen the Astros. It was really dark
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: back in the sort of tends. We had Chris Johnson
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: and Jason Castro as our three and four hitters, with
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: Bud Norris as our race. It was dark and was
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: great with the worst in baseball. But twenty fifteen and
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: was it two fifteen?
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: I think it was earlier than that. It was like
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: twenty ten or eleven, because I went to those games.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: Is it used in for three months that year? I
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: was there when talking.
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: About when we made the wild Cards really surprising beat.
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: We beat the Yankees in their own backyard and that
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: was like Dallas Kaikos site out of nowhere, side bite
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: stuff and Tuvey and I think maybe Carea debuted and
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: stuff like that. But yeah, I think it was about
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: twenty fifteen. But that just came out of nowhere and
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: a dynasty was born from me. So you just never know.
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: And I just think in baseball sometimes and this is
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: why exercises like this, some of these guys could be
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: more than what we were advertising them to be. You
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: just never know. In baseball because there's so much human
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: element and so much mental strength required in the sport,
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: and the intangibles make such a difference. So we can
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: talk about speed this, velocity that, but what goes on
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: upstairs is what really matters in a lot of these
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: cases as well, because you can have all the tools,
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: all the but no idea. Do you know what I mean?
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: It's putting it all together?
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: Yeah for sure. Okay, that's two my pitchers. Who is
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: your third starter?
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: So Milwaukee sixty percent owned Shane drow and seventy six
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: in his seventy six k's three point two era one
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: point one A four whip been good over the last
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: last month as well. Sub three are sub three r Yeah,
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: the Twins Twins, I was about say the buck went
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: after that, not the Twins, all the Bucks, the Brewers
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: seeing company him Enix decent. You can never write off
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: a brewer's picture full stop, regardless of whether he has
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: a name value or not. And probably a guy I'm
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: feeling quite comfortable for with the rest of the season.
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: Even if this spot isn't one hundred percent guaranteed, I
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: think there'll be ways they will use and plus all this,
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: how much more will miss pitch. They you know, there
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: was something about them using miss more creatively is going
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: to create potentially more rnings of opportunities for other guys.
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: So I feel pretty good about the line up for
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: the rest of the way.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: She thoughts, I'm checking your roster in three sport. He's
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: not on there. What's the deal Crag's Is he all right?
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: I would have thought you would have got to him first,
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: but I guess I'm wrong on that one. But yeah,
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: but who saw this coming? Again, just anybody who gets
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: turned in the Brewer's rotation, and they've had enough injuries
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: that there have been a few guys coming through. But
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: again the Brewiser example, a four. Letting these guys go
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: sometimes isn't the worst thing, and then signing Christian Yelich
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: to the biggest contract in franchise history is sometimes not
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: as effective. So I don't know, man, and don't I'm
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: not showing for the owners. I'm saying that the economics
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: are messed up, But they're just messed up in a
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: different way than people say.
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: At least formula with their pictures that seems to work.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: Like yeah, but part of it is varying arm angles
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: and stuff like that. So it's part of the diversity
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: of the.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: Pictures too, of course. But if you're continually paying elite
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: pictures rookie scale deals, you can afford to waste a
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: load of money on Yelich.
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: Yeah, quote afford. But yeah, I see what you're saying,
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: And yeah, they just seem to have a bottomless pit
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: of this. Zebbie Matthews will be my last pick. And
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: he is not necessarily performing the way you want to
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: perform five point four e r a one point three
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: four to three whip, but he fighting injuries.
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: This guy, I've never seen the appeal never, like really
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: yeah it was it last year or the year before.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: Never ever done it with the eye test for me,
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: like never, I've never seen him and thought think thought, yeah,
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: this guy is blowing my hair back. Never and when
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: he was a prospect and getting a load of a
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: load of hype and then like the potential opportunities in
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: the Millwark Minnesota last year, never was interested. Never done it.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: I've been talking about how there's a player who players
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: who could just destroy your season in one game, and
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: Zebbie Matthews probably did that the day before we recorded
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: here on Sunday with three Indians at the Cubs and
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: eight Ernie's given up. So yeah, I don't know, Craig.
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: I'm just I'm struggling at this point with the starting pitchers,
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: and Zebbi's at least a guy I've been tracking for
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: a long time in my thirty team. I think the
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: Barry Baker League, even though Barry Baker's not in anymore,
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: but the Great Barry Baker League. I've had Zebbi for
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: years and he's been fairly effective when I brought him up,
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: except for this weekend.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: And I think North Korea has finally caught up with
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: Barry Baker and he's in some gild South.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: Oh geez, he's a pharmacist, Craig, he's busy. I don't know, man, Yes, no,
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: maybe not a pharmaist. And that's Josh Lloyd. That's a
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: whole different situation.
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: I think he's an ass an ass is. That's right.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: That's a tough thing, and he's he's going to keep
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: your ear n each going.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: Yeah, that's an impossible task, but that's yeah.
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: Shouts up to Barry. All right, and now the closer.
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: That's our last guy.
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: Who you got, Okay, I got Grant Taylor Chicago Whites,
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: partly because he's starting picture eligible and who doesn't love
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: a closer or a relief picture late in his relief
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: picture is starting a picture eligibility been great this season,
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: the two seventy four era and a one point we Okay,
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: maybe that's not elite when it comes to relief pictures,
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: but if he was. If it was, he'd obviously be
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: much higher. Rowned. He's got three saves in his last
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: four games, so it looks like he now has the
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: full trust. Sixty seven k's and just under fifty innings.
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: So with that starting pitching eligibility, it's a guy that
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: I think's well worth having a little LICKSI.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: Yeah, there's multiple guys who I could go with. Yeah,
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: and that's a good shout. He is a talented picture
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: for the White Sox, and the White Sox are looking good.
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: There were multiple options that really relief picture was especially
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: only picking one was not the worst position on this exercise, Craig, because.
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: It was always good for read if pictures, and especially
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: this time. We'll try again.
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: Under seventy five percent, you've got Kenley Jansen, and what
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: are the odds he's not been good enough to trade
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: and the Tigers probably aren't going anywhere. He could retain closer,
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: he could keep getting you saves. Jo Andre's Gomez with
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: the Twins got twelve saves this year, but I've already
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: taken two.
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: It was just over there. Isn't he as well? And
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: if he doesn't get moved, you're likely to keep that job.
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: But I am going to go back to since I've
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: been on an anti Boston screen, let's give Boston a
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: little love here. Because Garrett Whitlock man. I took him
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: before the season in some leagues because he's just a
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: it's just a killer when it comes to ratios two
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: point zero six era, a point nine one for And
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: while a lot of these guys will come out of
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: the woodwork for the year and you're like, I didn't
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: you never see these guys, you could see Garrett whitlock coming.
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: He's this isn't the first time that he's done this
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: type of thing. And I assume at some point, I
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: don't know whether they will make way for him. I
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: don't know whether he is in line for some of
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: those spots, but he's taken the Cave Smith path of
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: He's just so freaking good as a setup guy. That
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: maybe eventually he'll get that closer role. I feel like,
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: I don't know what if you track your Woodlock at all?
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: Do you like him?
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: I've always found with Whitlock, he's a guy that says
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: to perform and pat my interest, not for like a month.
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: I'm talking historically as good as good as any picture
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: or advice broke. Oh yeah him, and then his role
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: changeses to some middlewely he gets tull over the park
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: and then I end up dropping him. And then a
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: year later, oh, hang on, Whitlock's doing so? Interested in
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: it again? Guy fort So mightbe on the problem. But yeah,
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: there's always been like because it's an art. He does
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: pass the eye test when he's on as well. Do
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: you know what I mean? It doesn't look like a
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: guy that could be a really doublant pitcher. But I
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: would say twice once, betten, twice shot. I think I've
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: been bitting about four times. It's like I just struggled
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: to go back. But yeah, stranger things have happened. He's
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: not Drey Palmer rans but who is.
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: Grow palm rans Man. Yeah, he's got the He's got
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: a one hundred percent chase rate this year. His walk
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: rate of four point five percent is ninety eight percent.
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: He's pitching insane when he's out there. It's just ridiculous.
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: And even though he has missed some time, when the
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: Red Sox put him out there, he's just money. So yeah,
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: I excuse me. I am a huge fan in in
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: Le's see here in July. So far he's pitched eight times,
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: he's not given up an ear run, and he's got
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: a point for to one whip. So that's that's about
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: as good as you can theoretically.
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: To city question. He's still at the Red.
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: Sox, right, Yeah, he's still with the Red Sox because.
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: The Red Sox are red hot on the moment a
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: bet with Jake Bennett. There's a lot going right for
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: the Red Sox. It'll be interesting to say when this
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: red hot form stabilizes a bit all tanks, what happens
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: with guys like Bennett and Whitlock.
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's not like that's benefited him in the
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: way of vulture winds. He doesn't have any vulture winds.
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: He does have a stave in the last month in
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: two on the year, I believe. But but yeah, when
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: everything is going right for your team, then everything's going right,
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: and I guess we'll see.
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, Craig has he got starts and picture
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: eligibility as well or.
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: I don't think so. He has in the past, but
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: he doesn't have it this year. No, because there has
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: been talking he's actually thirty years old. There has been
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: talk about floating him in the rotation I think in
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: past years, but that's not what's going on now. And
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: it's not like he he's not a strikeout. Maybe he's
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: one strikeout per any but you just they can't hit
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: it stuff.
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: But it can be underrated though. You get those guys
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: in there that really help your ratios. Whether it's a
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: Holderman or Sabrowsky or something not going to get a
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: ton of saves. But when you're able to have guys
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: like that can really stabilize it's your era and whip.
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: It allows you to take a few more chances with
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: your starting pitching in terms of streaming or drafting later.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: I think absolutely. Okay, Craig, we've been through the we've
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: been through the exercise. Now, any final thoughts on this
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: whole thing.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: My final thoughts are I'm glad the World Cup's over.
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: I feel absolutely drained by that. I'm glad the heat
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: wins over. We've still got plenty of cricket left in
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: the summer. We still got plenty of baseball league. Some
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: summer league was something else. Ork a bit about that offline,
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: and I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the summer
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: and gets we'll be getting into football territory soon. And yeah, yeah,
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: I'm really excited for football Sason this year because I've
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: only got the one team, actually, Teller, I've still got
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: a team in that league with that Matt Lawson started
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: because Matt Lawson isn't running it anymore, so I'm decided
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: to start. And yeah, I'm really excited for football this year.
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: I'm sure everyone is. I'm your thoughts on football.
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just in such a haze from It's just
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: been a crazy summer. Between the Hockey Show, we put
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: on thirty team thirty two team previews, so I'm recording
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: three of those today, and we did five episodes, four
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: episodes on the NHL Draft, which just came up. My
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: basketball drafts are coming up in a week, so I
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: just football. It hasn't been on my mind much since
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: we saw our rookie drafts back in the being in
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: a June.
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: I keep looking at my team because I really like it.
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: This year. It's the most confident I've felt in my team,
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: so I'm guaranteed the ninth place finish. It works. But yeah, right,
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: excited for a bit of red zone action Sunday night. Yeah,
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: I'm excited. I've been for football, I think, because I
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: think I I'm just starting to appreciate the easiest easiness
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: off the once the one line off a week.
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: Don't worry, though, They'll make sure that it's spread across
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: all seven days. Pretty soon.
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: The thing that's significant on my fancy team will be
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: on red zones, you know what I mean. So it's
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: all in one plate. So yeah, yeah, we just need
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: to get the summer out of the way. Now do
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: you call it full? We call it autumn.
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: But yeah, it's not the stupidest part. I feel the
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: same way. There comes a point in the summer where
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: I'm like, the fall sports are so awesome. I just
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: want the summer to be over. And then I turn
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: around the next day and I'm like, what do you mean?
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: I want the summer to be over? Summer's nice, Autumn
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: is great, but the problem with autumn is freaking winter
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: is right there, just waiting for you.
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: Yeah, i'magually you're probably gonna get a brutal So you're
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: expecting brutal winters in Vancouver or not at all.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: Just get a little bit of rain. We probably get
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: snow once a year.
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: Oh wow, you're not going to be shoveling snow.
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: I sold my snowblower Craig and tossed all but one
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: of my snowshovels. It is going to be so good.
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: Ah, you should have moved years ago. I'll tell you what.
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: Daily in the mid exhaustedly just thinking about it, To
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: be honest with you, just like to start your day
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: that way to go to I just couldn't imagine it.
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: I really couldn't. We love if we have half an
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: inch of snow, pretty much everywhere is closed and everyone's
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: in apocalypse mode.
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: Anyway, I think the most important thing that I need
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: to know at this point is it a pleasure.
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: Or a chore? Do you know me, Jesse, It's always
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: a pleasure and ever sure nice.
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: I'm glad to hear that we're still consistent on that point.
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: Thank you for coming out to Greg and well I'm
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: sure we're talking again.
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: I'm sure we will.
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: Before I get out of here, I will just tell
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: you that you can thank the boys in this league
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: for hosting and posting this episode. You can check out
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: my work Baseball HQ. I just wrote up an article there.
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: Every two weeks, I write about players who are hot
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: or cold in the minor leagues and guys who recently
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: taught prospects, have been injured, coming back from injury, or
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: have been promoted. I also just participated in the mid
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: season h Q fifty, where we all ranked our top
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: fifty prospects for the baseball mid season, and that was fun.
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: I wrote up a.
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: Couple of the prospects who are changing trajectory in my mind.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: And you can also check out the show Fantasy Hockey Life.
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: That's the one that's really it's just burning me up
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: right now. We're doing thirty two episodes for thirty two
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: teams over the summer, as we always do. We've done
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: it for many years in a row now and we're
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: just past the halfway point. Plus we did four episodes
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: on the NHL Draft. That is the place if you're interested,
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: if you're hockey curious, that's a great place to listen
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: to my partner Victor Nugnio and myself talk about the
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: cool things that happen over in Dynasty Fantasy Hockey. And
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: thank you for listening to the show. You can leave
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: me five stars of rating and review and just send
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: some nice words and I wish you in return good
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: luck and all your Dynasty Fantasy leagues.
