- 0:27Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:32Speaker 1: with us inside the tree house. I'm Daniel Malley, along
- 0:38Speaker 1: with Trade Trenholm and Rolie Scharmer, who's back from his
- 0:42Speaker 1: illness yet.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Thank you guys. So okay, I'm better. We're not one
- 0:53Speaker 2: hundred percent, I would say ninety, but it was, Uh,
- 0:58Speaker 2: it was the most terrifying thing I've ever gone through,
- 1:03Speaker 2: just because like the yeah, the first day, first day
- 1:06Speaker 2: and a half, like I couldn't stay awake. I was like,
- 1:08Speaker 2: I think I texted you. I was like, I can't
- 1:10Speaker 2: keep my eyes open and I don't know what's going on.
- 1:13Speaker 2: And I had a little bit of a fever and
- 1:14Speaker 2: not too bad. And then the next that night, on
- 1:19Speaker 2: the second day, about eleven is when the horrific vomiting started.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Like I couldn't keep I think we had burgers or
- 1:32Speaker 2: something and they were delightful, and I'm just sitting in
- 1:37Speaker 2: our room watching TV, and I was like, oh, I
- 1:41Speaker 2: think I'm gonna throw up. When Nikki was nice enough
- 1:44Speaker 2: she got me a little trash can with a little
- 1:45Speaker 2: trash bag and it's like, here you go throw up
- 1:47Speaker 2: in this, and I filled that bag up halfway by
- 1:51Speaker 2: the end of us throwing it away because everything that
- 1:55Speaker 2: I could ingest came up to the point where I
- 1:58Speaker 2: stopped doing it. So I didn't eat for a day
- 2:02Speaker 2: on a day and a half or two days something
- 2:05Speaker 2: like that, So I lost so that day that it's
- 2:08Speaker 2: the day and a half that I slept who didn't
- 2:10Speaker 2: eat much, and then three days, so that's a total
- 2:13Speaker 2: three or four days of not eating. Yesterday about three
- 2:18Speaker 2: pm was the last gigantic hurl of pedialyte that I
- 2:23Speaker 2: was trying to do to keep my body what flavor
- 2:27Speaker 2: fruit punch ah, So.
- 2:29Speaker 1: It looked like you're puking blood.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the that's scared. That's scared. Uh, that's scared, Nikki.
- 2:35Speaker 1: I think that I think that right there should tell
- 2:37Speaker 1: you if you're going to drink pedialyte or gatorade when
- 2:40Speaker 1: you're sick, stay away from the red stead because you
- 2:43Speaker 1: need to be able to know if you're puking blood.
- 2:46Speaker 1: So go purple or I guess you could do green.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Yeah, but I I would even tell like as it
- 2:53Speaker 2: was happening, she just stood there like horrified, and it's like,
- 2:57Speaker 2: we need to go to the hospital. And I was like,
- 2:59Speaker 2: as I'm throwing up. I'm like fruit punch, fruit punch,
- 3:02Speaker 2: Like I'm yelling that as I'm vomiting. Man, I showed
- 3:10Speaker 2: her the bottle that it was fruit punch ped Light
- 3:13Speaker 2: and she was better and I would and I don't
- 3:15Speaker 2: know what it was about that sensation. I was like, oh,
- 3:17Speaker 2: I think that was the last one. I think that
- 3:20Speaker 2: was the last bit. So about an hour later, I
- 3:23Speaker 2: was like, I'm gonna drink like a sprite or I'm
- 3:26Speaker 2: gonna drink you know, another peda light and see if
- 3:28Speaker 2: that stays down stayed down. I was like, I need
- 3:31Speaker 2: to eat. I haven't eaten in three days, four days.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I don't even know what was I've lost like twelve
- 3:35Speaker 2: you can see my face, I've lost like twelve pounds.
- 3:38Speaker 2: My eyes are still bloodshot red from all the vomiting.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Yeah, i'd say, I'd say twelve pounds. That's that's probably
- 3:45Speaker 1: equal to at least one ab popping.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I should, I should. I mean I haven't checked.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I mean, like, just just just a few more days,
- 3:53Speaker 1: you'll look like Hugh Jackman in Dead and Wolverine.
- 3:58Speaker 2: With the really skinny arms it's kitty legs because I'm
- 4:02Speaker 2: not And I did do that, Like, I realized this
- 4:05Speaker 2: this morning because the dogs, you know, wake me up
- 4:07Speaker 2: about six and so I take them out for a walk,
- 4:10Speaker 2: and I the last couple of days I'm like, I
- 4:12Speaker 2: can't take you guys at I'm sorry. I'll just let
- 4:14Speaker 2: you out in the backyard. And that's as far as
- 4:16Speaker 2: I can go because I can walk. I was had
- 4:18Speaker 2: no food in me, so no energy. And then this
- 4:21Speaker 2: morning I was like, I need to get moving, like
- 4:24Speaker 2: I need to get this body moving again, because that's
- 4:26Speaker 2: the only way it's going to start to realize it's
- 4:28Speaker 2: getting better. And so grab myself pedialyte, drank a quarter
- 4:33Speaker 2: of it, had a big thing of water, and took
- 4:36Speaker 2: the dogs out and walk took the trash out, went
- 4:39Speaker 2: around the neighborhood. So feeling better, I'm still scared to
- 4:44Speaker 2: eat anything heavy, so I'm just doing lentils and rice
- 4:48Speaker 2: for lunch today.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Smart and then I.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Had just the nicky made stew and mashed potatoes. And
- 4:56Speaker 2: I just had the broth and the mashed potatoes for
- 4:59Speaker 2: dinner last night. So on on the road to recovery.
- 5:02Speaker 2: But I did think I was dying. I did think
- 5:05Speaker 2: I had some sort of a cancer or some sort
- 5:08Speaker 2: of like because seriously, because of the sleeping and then
- 5:11Speaker 2: the vomiting and then the weight loss, I was like,
- 5:13Speaker 2: I'm dying. So I went to Neil and I was like, hey, man,
- 5:17Speaker 2: I think I'm dying. And he's like, what's going on?
- 5:20Speaker 1: Who's Neil?
- 5:21Speaker 2: Oh, my brother who's the anesthesiologist. And I was like, yo, buddy,
- 5:25Speaker 2: I think I think I have some sort of cancer.
- 5:27Speaker 2: He's like, okay, are you Are you pooping blood? And
- 5:30Speaker 2: I was like nope, because are you peeing blood? I
- 5:32Speaker 2: was like nope, goes, you don't have cancer. And I
- 5:35Speaker 2: was like, oh, okay, he don't scare.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Me like that.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Man, Like he's like that, I know I'm a doctor,
- 5:41Speaker 2: but I'm still your brother.
- 5:42Speaker 1: And I was like, meanwhile, meanwhile, he's the only thing
- 5:44Speaker 1: he could really do is will me put your sleep
- 5:47Speaker 1: for a little bit?
- 5:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that would have been great because I
- 5:51Speaker 2: didn't sleep for I mean again, when the vomiting started,
- 5:54Speaker 2: I didn't sleep. I think I slept two hours and
- 5:56Speaker 2: two days because how about the throw up was so
- 6:00Speaker 2: I just stayed awake and watch TV and which just
- 6:02Speaker 2: I had the trash can by my the couch in our.
- 6:05Speaker 1: So what do you think the cause of it was.
- 6:08Speaker 2: She was saying the same thing, and Neil was saying
- 6:10Speaker 2: it there was a there's a really bad stomach bug
- 6:12Speaker 2: that's going around. That's that's uh here in the North
- 6:16Speaker 2: Texas area as far as they know right now. But
- 6:19Speaker 2: it could spread because kids and people travel and all
- 6:22Speaker 2: that stuff. But it's like, you know, Nicki's daughter goes
- 6:25Speaker 2: to public school, so she could have brought it home.
- 6:28Speaker 2: You go out for lunch almost every day, so.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Damn kids bringing dirty stuff home.
- 6:35Speaker 2: But it could also be like I go up to
- 6:36Speaker 2: there's a Mexican restaurant that I go up to for
- 6:38Speaker 2: lunch sometimes and then I go to Chili's grab them.
- 6:42Speaker 1: So there's a bug going around in your cot at someplace.
- 6:45Speaker 2: I got it and it terrified me. So I'm glad to.
- 6:49Speaker 1: At least it didn't, you know, pop through your chest.
- 6:53Speaker 2: That's true.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Yeah, at least you were just expelling it normal human
- 6:58Speaker 1: style as opposed to alien style right through their chest cabin.
- 7:01Speaker 2: It wasn't normal expelling. Like Nikki shut the door to
- 7:06Speaker 2: our bedroom. She's like, it's scaring the kid.
- 7:08Speaker 1: That's how across the street. The kid in the house
- 7:13Speaker 1: also terrified hiding under the bed, but their children across
- 7:16Speaker 1: the street. Down the street, there's there's a park down there.
- 7:19Speaker 1: All the kids are hiding. It's it's it's a whole.
- 7:22Speaker 1: So you turned it, so you turned into the miskeip fountain.
- 7:25Speaker 4: I did.
- 7:26Speaker 2: I could have gone outside and people would throw pennies
- 7:29Speaker 2: at me and I grant their wishes or whatever. But
- 7:32Speaker 2: I'm glad. I'm glad.
- 7:34Speaker 1: They're just covered in vomit and just whatever, eat whatever
- 7:39Speaker 1: food you've eaten, along with fruit punch pedia light. And
- 7:43Speaker 1: they're just wondering, well, does this mean it's gonna Does
- 7:45Speaker 1: this mean my wish is gonna come true?
- 7:48Speaker 2: And I would just explain to him, like the people
- 7:50Speaker 2: here don't know it's myskie. I'm like, this is a
- 7:52Speaker 2: this is a tradition in India. Yeah, oh, and live
- 7:55Speaker 2: your dreams now.
- 7:56Speaker 1: This is a This is a hinduo blessing.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Black not blood fruit punch. Now.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Tell them it's blood that because that way really kind
- 8:08Speaker 1: of drives it home that that you might be some
- 8:11Speaker 1: actual deity.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Yes, or a demon because everybody here's a Christian.
- 8:19Speaker 1: I take it back, Maybe better not to tell them
- 8:20Speaker 1: it's blood, because you don't want them you know, coming
- 8:23Speaker 1: to the house with pitchforks and flames and stuff. Yeah, yes,
- 8:26Speaker 1: because they Mosquite will show up to de demonize you.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Oh, one hundred percent. There's in two mile radius of
- 8:33Speaker 2: our house sixteen churches.
- 8:39Speaker 1: All different denominations.
- 8:41Speaker 2: I don't know what. I don't know what. I know.
- 8:43Speaker 2: There's Methodists and Baptists and Catholics, but there's some that's
- 8:47Speaker 2: like a non denomination, which is a denomination but they say.
- 8:50Speaker 1: It's not right. Yeah. So what that means is all
- 8:52Speaker 1: of Mesquite in your area withouin unite under one banner. Yeah,
- 8:59Speaker 1: fifteen minutes just to smite you.
- 9:01Speaker 2: I would. I would bring the Christians together for them
- 9:06Speaker 2: to murder me.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Here's a great unifier.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I was. And then they killed me and then they
- 9:14Speaker 2: split up again. So that's what would have happened. But
- 9:18Speaker 2: thank you so much for asking. And I'm sorry I
- 9:20Speaker 2: missed a couple of shows, but there was no possible
- 9:23Speaker 2: way I was gonna be any good. So I'd rather
- 9:28Speaker 2: show be good and then and me not be on it,
- 9:31Speaker 2: then me be on it and it suck, I mean
- 9:34Speaker 2: vomiting intermittently between don't our.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Topics, don't sell yourself short? I mean, that would not
- 9:41Speaker 1: be the first time that someone's thrown up in the
- 9:42Speaker 1: middle of the show. We we we lean into those
- 9:45Speaker 1: things around here. We'll turn that, we'll turn that stuff
- 9:48Speaker 1: into promos.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Well, next time I catch a horrific bug from somewhere,
- 9:54Speaker 2: I'll hop right on.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Yes, now you get it.
- 10:02Speaker 5: You're in the tree house.
- 10:04Speaker 6: Visit us online at Treehouseonair dot com.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Let's get Daniel Cook into the Treehouse. Eight three three
- 10:21Speaker 1: cook DFW is the phone number to get your free
- 10:24Speaker 1: roof inspection and to get yourself on the cooklist. The
- 10:26Speaker 1: website cookdfw dot com. You can go there and take
- 10:29Speaker 1: a look at some of the projects that they've done.
- 10:31Speaker 1: And yes, you are a roofing company, Daniel, but you
- 10:34Speaker 1: also have a lot of remodeling and restoration projects. Do
- 10:37Speaker 1: you guys do she sheds and man caves? Because I
- 10:41Speaker 1: imagine at your house, your lovely wife, Carrie, who hates
- 10:43Speaker 1: to be hot, she probably has her own separate shee shed.
- 10:46Speaker 1: That's nothing but just air conditioners blowing on her twenty
- 10:49Speaker 1: four seven.
- 10:50Speaker 7: That is so funny, Dan. Last week I told Carrie
- 10:53Speaker 7: I was gonna build her a walk in cooler so
- 10:56Speaker 7: I could go put her in because it's like, no
- 11:00Speaker 7: matter how cool, like I get frostbite by sleeping in
- 11:03Speaker 7: her bed. I mean, we go to sleep at night
- 11:07Speaker 7: and I look over and she's like still a look
- 11:09Speaker 7: like she's hot and I'm buried under covers. I got
- 11:12Speaker 7: a shirt on, I got my shorts on, I got
- 11:15Speaker 7: socks on. I gotta get a toboggan and put it on.
- 11:18Speaker 7: And she's still sitting there like, oh my god, it's
- 11:21Speaker 7: so hot, and I'm like I don't know what else
- 11:23Speaker 7: to do. So it brings back it's like trauma almost now.
- 11:28Speaker 8: It's like wow.
- 11:29Speaker 7: But yes, so we can build anything. We actually had
- 11:32Speaker 7: a client that oneed a she said, in the backyard
- 11:35Speaker 7: with a nice polycarbonate roof. She kind of made it
- 11:39Speaker 7: like a little greenhouse and she had little chairs out
- 11:42Speaker 7: there and she would go out there and relax. We
- 11:44Speaker 7: do a several patio covers, several home extensions off the backyards.
- 11:50Speaker 7: So yeah, we're able to do all those things.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Very very cool. So if you have a dream, uh
- 11:55Speaker 1: Daniel cook at COOKEDFW roofing and restoration can help make
- 11:58Speaker 1: it possible, or if you're just trying to you know,
- 12:00Speaker 1: the frost shingles off the tip of your nose and
- 12:03Speaker 1: make your wife a walkin cooler. You can do that.
- 12:05Speaker 1: He'll be happy to do it because he already has
- 12:07Speaker 1: the plans ready. Eight three three Cook DFW eight three
- 12:10Speaker 1: three Cook DFW or that website cookdfw dot com.
- 12:19Speaker 6: You're in the tree house, visit us online at treehouseonair
- 12:24Speaker 6: dot com.
- 12:26Speaker 1: This segment of the Treehouse is brought to you by
- 12:27Speaker 1: fair Lease. To get that new vehicle, you should lease
- 12:30Speaker 1: it from fair Lease. Save time and money when you
- 12:33Speaker 1: lease from Fairlease, the no hassle way to least, just
- 12:37Speaker 1: give him a call. That phone number is at fairlease
- 12:39Speaker 1: dot org the website fairleas dot org to get that
- 12:42Speaker 1: phone number to get that new vehicle lease instead of
- 12:45Speaker 1: buy from Fairlease. All right, I would like to present
- 12:51Speaker 1: to all of you someone who's very special to us,
- 12:54Speaker 1: near and dear to us in our treehouse Hearts. I
- 12:57Speaker 1: have dubbed him the Wolf of Fox four Ladies and gentlemen,
- 13:02Speaker 1: Steve Noviello. Yes, he looks so casual. He just happens
- 13:07Speaker 1: to have the Dallas skyline behind him. He's just looking
- 13:10Speaker 1: so awesome, Dick.
- 13:13Speaker 3: I mean, hey, why Wolverine? Why not Deadpool?
- 13:18Speaker 8: We know he has a potty Okay, what's what's the
- 13:20Speaker 8: I mean here the.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Beard in November. No, no, no, it's none of those things.
- 13:26Speaker 1: It's because Fox four is running you so ragged lately
- 13:29Speaker 1: with all these shows that you're basically Wolverine like in
- 13:34Speaker 1: the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Because in the new movie they're
- 13:38Speaker 1: telling Hugh Jackman, they're going to make you do this
- 13:40Speaker 1: till you're ninety, and I think Fox Four is doing
- 13:42Speaker 1: the same thing to you. See, so it's very much
- 13:47Speaker 1: a compliment, believe me.
- 13:48Speaker 8: I was actually just talking about you on I was
- 13:51Speaker 8: just talking about you. So Hannah and I have our
- 13:53Speaker 8: new show at ten am that premiered today, and one
- 13:57Speaker 8: of the topics was previewing What's on Last Call tonight,
- 14:02Speaker 8: and of course your name came.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Up nice and did she recoil at the sound or
- 14:07Speaker 1: she was just like just kind of okay, No, she was.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Have you ever met her?
- 14:12Speaker 8: I don't think you have.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I have not met her before. She's she always seems
- 14:16Speaker 1: very nice. I think you stuck her on the phone
- 14:17Speaker 1: with us one time when we had you on the
- 14:19Speaker 1: show before. But yeah, it seems like a sweetheart. And
- 14:21Speaker 1: that's one of The reasons why I wanted to get
- 14:23Speaker 1: you on was not just to promote my appearance on
- 14:25Speaker 1: your late night show, Last Call with Steve Noviello, which
- 14:28Speaker 1: airs five nights a week now on Fox four, but
- 14:31Speaker 1: also the new show The Ten, because again, you're the
- 14:34Speaker 1: Wolverine of Fox Four. They may not get you until
- 14:37Speaker 1: you're ninety, but they're gonna make you do ninety TV
- 14:39Speaker 1: shows before you're done.
- 14:41Speaker 8: Well, it's nice to be wanted, I will say that,
- 14:43Speaker 8: but I could use an assistant for sure. So if you,
- 14:47Speaker 8: you know, if island life becomes too much for you
- 14:49Speaker 8: and you feel like you want to, you know, join me,
- 14:51Speaker 8: feel free.
- 14:52Speaker 1: To join you or or you just need someone to
- 14:55Speaker 1: pick up your dry cleaning.
- 14:57Speaker 8: I wish imagine. Uh yeah, no, So Last Call five
- 15:03Speaker 8: nights a week on Fox at eleven pm. We also
- 15:06Speaker 8: do a preview episode at nine thirty on KTI if
- 15:07Speaker 8: I twenty seven, I think we have a reair on Sundays.
- 15:10Speaker 8: It's been going great, man, I mean, we show uh
- 15:18Speaker 8: that role. We beat all of the big guys and
- 15:21Speaker 8: Len and I, we beat Fallon, we beat Kimmel, We
- 15:23Speaker 8: beat Colbert like by a lot.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Yeah, which was which was really nice. That's amazing. Yeah,
- 15:29Speaker 1: the success of that is it's really taken off really
- 15:32Speaker 1: really quickly because you guys did your test stuff earlier
- 15:35Speaker 1: in the year and then that went really well obviously,
- 15:38Speaker 1: and they said, okay, we're going to give you a
- 15:39Speaker 1: couple nights a week on the weekend. And then I
- 15:41Speaker 1: guess that did so damn well. They said, you know what, Steve,
- 15:44Speaker 1: we want you on five nights a week.
- 15:49Speaker 8: Well, I think that it's important important for people to understand,
- 15:54Speaker 8: like the words. I know, people think, okay, well that
- 15:59Speaker 8: went well, we're syndicating, so that's the bar for went Well,
- 16:03Speaker 8: can you do that? Can you feel this time for
- 16:04Speaker 8: less money than we're spending on mash reruns? Yes, I
- 16:07Speaker 8: can if you have a show. That's how it works.
- 16:10Speaker 1: There you go. So I've been watching you guys been
- 16:13Speaker 1: promoting this, Like you just mentioned you had the ten
- 16:16Speaker 1: starting up this morning with Hannabta. What is the ten.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I've seen a few people comment going, no, I'm excited
- 16:22Speaker 1: for it, but then they also say, but what is it?
- 16:25Speaker 2: What is it?
- 16:25Speaker 1: Right?
- 16:26Speaker 8: So you know, here's the thing. So we look, we
- 16:31Speaker 8: do a lot of news here, we're doing a lot
- 16:33Speaker 8: more programming. So this I want. People are kind of
- 16:35Speaker 8: think of it as more of a television show than
- 16:37Speaker 8: a news program. It is. There's no news essentially. I
- 16:41Speaker 8: mean some things are like news ish, like today we
- 16:44Speaker 8: talked about, you know, Vanderbilt taking down the goalpost after
- 16:47Speaker 8: the Alabama game, which you know, I found its way
- 16:51Speaker 8: into the news cycle the last couple of days. But
- 16:53Speaker 8: I mean, no murder, no crime. No, you know, Sean
- 16:56Speaker 8: Rapp's not tracking anybody down because we do a lot
- 16:59Speaker 8: of that, and we do it really well. So we
- 17:01Speaker 8: are doing a show that is more fun, is more trendy.
- 17:04Speaker 8: It's honestly, I hesitate to call it a daytime version
- 17:08Speaker 8: of Last Call, because I think the Last Call is
- 17:10Speaker 8: kind of its own animal. But it's pretty, it's very interactive,
- 17:14Speaker 8: it's very fun. There's a lot of viewer involvement. It's honestly,
- 17:17Speaker 8: so the the idea kind of came up. So Hannah
- 17:19Speaker 8: and I when we u I used to anchor Good
- 17:22Speaker 8: Day together, when I would fill in for her co
- 17:24Speaker 8: host would constantly get in trouble for like talking too
- 17:28Speaker 8: much during the commercials. We were like, okay, you know,
- 17:31Speaker 8: and they were like, well, but it's actually it's kind
- 17:33Speaker 8: of engaging with the two of you talk about so
- 17:34Speaker 8: why don't we make a whole show out of it?
- 17:36Speaker 8: So essentially, it's you know, it's it's it's the commercial
- 17:38Speaker 8: breaks from good days where we where we find our content.
- 17:42Speaker 3: And it was great.
- 17:43Speaker 8: We had a great launch day to day. You know,
- 17:45Speaker 8: we're we're certainly building as we go along, so I
- 17:48Speaker 8: think it'll be it'll be good. We had a we
- 17:50Speaker 8: had a really nice response to day one.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Hey, but when sweeps come around, you get Becky Oliver
- 17:56Speaker 3: out of retirement, sick her on someone.
- 18:00Speaker 8: So I just saw Becky recently. I just sawt bet
- 18:03Speaker 8: you recently. I've been trying to get her to be
- 18:05Speaker 8: a guest on Last Call, which I think, you know,
- 18:09Speaker 8: may happen, which I'm excited about. I will send her
- 18:13Speaker 8: your regards. I'm in touch with her quite often. She's awesome.
- 18:16Speaker 8: Still still kicking.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Out, isn't she also your realtor?
- 18:21Speaker 8: She's got my realtor. I mean, now that I have
- 18:24Speaker 8: my license on my own realtor, I'm gonna save that
- 18:26Speaker 8: three percent from myself.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Boy.
- 18:28Speaker 8: Yeah, she did sell us two different homes, and she
- 18:33Speaker 8: sold us two homes, and she sold two houses of
- 18:36Speaker 8: hours not that we have a collection of homes. It's
- 18:38Speaker 8: all happened simultaneously. We only have one house. But yes, yeah, no, Becky's.
- 18:42Speaker 1: So thank you's agreed. So you got the ten that
- 18:45Speaker 1: has started up. Now that's that's five days a week,
- 18:47Speaker 1: and now you've got Last Call. Well you've had Last Call,
- 18:50Speaker 1: but now you're adding the tin to it. So you
- 18:52Speaker 1: got five days a week on the tin with Handaba top.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Then you've got five nights a week with Last Call
- 18:58Speaker 1: with yourself. And I would be remiss if I didn't,
- 19:02Speaker 1: you know, throwing a plug for that because I'm on
- 19:04Speaker 1: it this week. How do you think? And I want
- 19:07Speaker 1: you to give your honest opinion, how do you think
- 19:09Speaker 1: I did? Sitting in sitting in your chair, not your chair,
- 19:12Speaker 1: but the chair next to you. Tell Trey and Raj
- 19:15Speaker 1: how you think I did? On TV? Because radio people
- 19:17Speaker 1: on TV can be hit or miss the silent treatment.
- 19:25Speaker 2: And he left.
- 19:29Speaker 3: He really didn't want to answer that question.
- 19:33Speaker 2: He quist the show.
- 19:36Speaker 1: No Villa's now got into hiding.
- 19:40Speaker 8: I think that's a connection issue or the universe. I'm
- 19:42Speaker 8: not no, I think that was the universe.
- 19:55Speaker 5: You're listening to the Treehouse visits online that Treehouse on
- 20:00Speaker 5: dot com.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Let's get Jaqueline from Brooks Plumbing into the Treehouse now
- 20:08Speaker 1: two one, four, three six, eight thirty eight thirty eight
- 20:10Speaker 1: the website Brooks Plumbing, Texas dot com. Jacqueline, I know
- 20:13Speaker 1: firsthand how great you are with your customers, and I'm curious,
- 20:17Speaker 1: is that just because you love me for my podcast
- 20:19Speaker 1: radio ability or do you just you know, you treat
- 20:21Speaker 1: everyone with you know, respect and dignity and awesomeness.
- 20:25Speaker 9: I would like to think we treat everybody with respect
- 20:27Speaker 9: to dignity. However, I just was saying to somebody the
- 20:31Speaker 9: other day not to toot my own horn, but too
- 20:33Speaker 9: toot here we come. I think my moral compass is
- 20:36Speaker 9: just really good, and I think it leaks into the business.
- 20:39Speaker 9: And I had one of our warehouse suppliers, because we
- 20:42Speaker 9: got a little warehouse in the building where we stock
- 20:44Speaker 9: all our normal stuff, come in to do inventory today
- 20:47Speaker 9: and he goes, hey, have you guys thought about selling
- 20:48Speaker 9: the annual memberships? And I said, well, of course we
- 20:51Speaker 9: thought about it, and he goes, well, I just got
- 20:53Speaker 9: done restocking, you know, taking inventory for this other plumbing
- 20:56Speaker 9: company in town, and they made like X amount of
- 20:59Speaker 9: million on just memberships alone last year, and I said, yeah,
- 21:02Speaker 9: it sounds like a great plan. I said, but let
- 21:03Speaker 9: me ask you a question. What do they do for
- 21:06Speaker 9: you from just a plumbing aspect to you? Well, will
- 21:08Speaker 9: they come into the house once a year. They check
- 21:10Speaker 9: the water heater, They check your faucets, They check the drains.
- 21:14Speaker 9: You know, we're talking in cabinets obviously not under the
- 21:16Speaker 9: sewer or not under the foundation.
- 21:18Speaker 2: You know.
- 21:18Speaker 9: They check and make sure that your water pressure's okay
- 21:21Speaker 9: and that you know, the fixtures aren't leaking. And I'm like, yeah,
- 21:25Speaker 9: but I myself would never buy one of those memberships
- 21:29Speaker 9: because I know if my water pressure is too low,
- 21:32Speaker 9: because I would see the difference. I would know if
- 21:34Speaker 9: my water heater wasn't working because there wouldn't be any
- 21:37Speaker 9: hot water. I would know if my sink was slow draining,
- 21:40Speaker 9: because I use my sink. I would not pay somebody
- 21:44Speaker 9: three hundred dollars a year or whatever the membership be is,
- 21:47Speaker 9: to come look at my plumbing once a year and
- 21:49Speaker 9: tell me, oh, hey, look, I have identified this problem
- 21:52Speaker 9: and I now want to charge you X amount of
- 21:54Speaker 9: dollars on top of your annual membership for me to
- 21:58Speaker 9: fix it.
- 21:59Speaker 2: You.
- 22:00Speaker 9: I would like to assume if you live in your
- 22:01Speaker 9: own home, you know when something's wrong. Obviously, we can't
- 22:05Speaker 9: catch everything, and nobody has a crystal ball and nobody
- 22:08Speaker 9: has X ray vision. But for the most part, the
- 22:10Speaker 9: average home owner knows when they get in the shower
- 22:13Speaker 9: that it's ice cold and the water heater is not working.
- 22:15Speaker 9: And I just can't understand selling my portfolio of customers
- 22:20Speaker 9: a three hundred dollars annual membership for me to come
- 22:22Speaker 9: into their home and look for things that I might
- 22:26Speaker 9: be able to sell them. That's absurd to me. And
- 22:29Speaker 9: I just don't ever think I'm gonna do that, And
- 22:32Speaker 9: if I do ever start doing it, I'm gonna find
- 22:34Speaker 9: I swear to God, the only honest and valuable proposition
- 22:39Speaker 9: that anybody comes up with. But still to this day,
- 22:42Speaker 9: I cannot justify doing that to anybody. I think it's nonsense.
- 22:45Speaker 1: So there you go, She's going to take care of you.
- 22:47Speaker 1: You are first in Jacqueline's plumbing book. Give her a
- 22:51Speaker 1: call for any and all of those plumbing once and
- 22:52Speaker 1: needs two, one, four, three, six, eight, thirty eight, thirty
- 22:55Speaker 1: eight and again that website Brooks Plumbingtexas dot com.
- 23:03Speaker 6: You're in the Treehouse. Visit us online at Treehouseonair dot com.
- 23:09Speaker 1: This segment of the Treehouse brought to you by Hangman's
- 23:12Speaker 1: House of Horrors in Fort Worth in its thirty sixth year,
- 23:16Speaker 1: the best haunted house in North Texas. Hangman's House of
- 23:19Speaker 1: Horrors in Fort Worth open Friday, Saturday, Sunday through November second.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Get all the info you need right now at Hangman's
- 23:27Speaker 1: dot com. That is Hangman's dot com, all right. So
- 23:32Speaker 1: that may have been the greatest punchline in the history
- 23:34Speaker 1: of this show. And no surprise, it came at the
- 23:37Speaker 1: hands of Steve Noviella and at my expense. I'm not
- 23:40Speaker 1: sure if he planned it that way or if just
- 23:42Speaker 1: Fox four is spending so much money on producing his
- 23:46Speaker 1: shows that they don't have enough leftover for good WiFi.
- 23:49Speaker 1: But if I can ask it again, compared to all
- 23:55Speaker 1: the other radio people that you've had on this show,
- 23:57Speaker 1: how did I do? Was I okay? Was I at
- 23:59Speaker 1: least middle of the road?
- 24:02Speaker 2: Now?
- 24:04Speaker 8: So, I mean we've had some pretty big I mean,
- 24:06Speaker 8: tell Raspberry's been on, and really the Kid's been on,
- 24:08Speaker 8: and Deean McGuire has been on. Why is that funny?
- 24:12Speaker 1: Because because your WiFi is cutting in and out, it
- 24:15Speaker 1: sounds like you're sounds like you're doing that. Oh my,
- 24:17Speaker 1: my connection is breaking up game, gotcha?
- 24:22Speaker 8: Gotcha? Yeah, I thought you were making fun of the
- 24:24Speaker 8: people I was comparing you to.
- 24:26Speaker 1: No, not at all. No, trust me. Ninety nine percent
- 24:29Speaker 1: of the time, we're laughing at ourselves.
- 24:33Speaker 8: Gotcha.
- 24:34Speaker 2: No.
- 24:34Speaker 8: I think you did great. I mean, honestly, I was
- 24:36Speaker 8: going to ask you how the experience was, right. I mean,
- 24:38Speaker 8: it's a it's kind of a fast paced, but I
- 24:40Speaker 8: ask a lot of you to kind of familiarize yourself
- 24:43Speaker 8: with a bunch of different topics and stuff. But it's nice.
- 24:45Speaker 8: I think that people really enjoy the show because it's
- 24:47Speaker 8: so unscripted and it's so you know, extemporaneous, which is
- 24:50Speaker 8: something that we don't really get to do a lot
- 24:52Speaker 8: in television. Everything is so buttoned up and so scripted
- 24:54Speaker 8: all the time. So I really love it, and I
- 24:57Speaker 8: love that our our staff gets to come on there
- 24:59Speaker 8: and kind of really beat them. So I think you
- 25:01Speaker 8: did great. I would love to have you back. I
- 25:02Speaker 8: thought you were very funny. It's interesting. It's hard because
- 25:06Speaker 8: I know that on your show you're kind of the ringleader.
- 25:09Speaker 8: So I think sometimes it's hard for some people to
- 25:11Speaker 8: come in here and kind of give that up in
- 25:14Speaker 8: in deference to somebody else who's hosting. But I think
- 25:17Speaker 8: you did great.
- 25:18Speaker 1: I very much appreciate you. No, the good news. This
- 25:20Speaker 1: is uh, in my in my broadcast training, it's been
- 25:24Speaker 1: pretty diverse, so I know how to lead and I
- 25:26Speaker 1: also know how to hut that up. Yeah yeah, how
- 25:31Speaker 1: did you like it?
- 25:32Speaker 8: How did you find the experience?
- 25:34Speaker 1: Overall? The experience was actually pretty good because the reason
- 25:37Speaker 1: why I asked it is because you're not used to TV,
- 25:41Speaker 1: which I'm not. I've only got a couple of times,
- 25:43Speaker 1: and the time before doing your show that I was
- 25:46Speaker 1: on TV was standing in front of Russ's house talking
- 25:49Speaker 1: about he's dead now. So this was a nice change
- 25:52Speaker 1: of pace for me. Usually when I'm on the news
- 25:54Speaker 1: is because something really bad has happened. I think a
- 25:58Speaker 1: couple of times you came in. It's like, really most
- 26:00Speaker 1: of my positive actually, I think all of my positive
- 26:03Speaker 1: TV experiences have been with you, Steve, Like going all
- 26:05Speaker 1: the way back to when we did that piece from
- 26:07Speaker 1: Pause in the City where we were doing that testing
- 26:11Speaker 1: of the dog washing thing.
- 26:15Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, no, for sure. Uh, well, I'm glad I
- 26:20Speaker 8: could be such a positive, positive experience for you in
- 26:24Speaker 8: uh in television because it's it's it's different, right, You're
- 26:26Speaker 8: gotta worry about like cameras and we're my looking And
- 26:29Speaker 8: that's kind of one of the nice things about this
- 26:30Speaker 8: particular shows that it's designed to not have to worry
- 26:32Speaker 8: about all those things because it's it's it's I mean,
- 26:35Speaker 8: Clarice calls it like being invited to with a like
- 26:37Speaker 8: a fun dinner party, right, You're just there to hang
- 26:39Speaker 8: out with other people and shit chat.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:42Speaker 8: Really and you I don't think you had met Who
- 26:44Speaker 8: were you on with Paige and Shannon?
- 26:46Speaker 1: So yeah, I was on with Page.
- 26:48Speaker 8: Page was so funny.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Yeah, she's really good. And then Shanda Murray doing the
- 26:55Speaker 1: show with her was was a lot of fun. We
- 26:56Speaker 1: had her on the radio show a few years back
- 26:58Speaker 1: when she had the from hell because RAJ make sure
- 27:01Speaker 1: if you're tray she had she was doing a live
- 27:04Speaker 1: shot on Fox four and a spider crawled out like
- 27:07Speaker 1: on her ear. So usually when TV people go viral,
- 27:12Speaker 1: it's it's not a good thing.
- 27:14Speaker 8: Never never.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Yeah, so and and that that was sort of like
- 27:18Speaker 1: the Cherry on top of her week. I think she
- 27:20Speaker 1: was also thrown out of a helicopter and into like
- 27:22Speaker 1: a shark tank or something, and then the spider. She
- 27:25Speaker 1: had a rough week. She's come a long way since,
- 27:27Speaker 1: and I'm happy for her.
- 27:29Speaker 8: You know what, she earned that anchor chair. She earned
- 27:31Speaker 8: that anchor spot.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Yes she did.
- 27:35Speaker 6: So.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Okay, So you've got the ten with Hannaba Toad now
- 27:37Speaker 1: Monday through Friday. And is that an hour long?
- 27:41Speaker 8: It's an hour long show. We're on from ten to eleven.
- 27:44Speaker 8: Then last Call is on an eleven PM. And then
- 27:46Speaker 8: of course we're just working on the Fox Holiday Gift Guide.
- 27:49Speaker 8: We're in our sixteenth year this year, so that show,
- 27:51Speaker 8: that's a kind of Joel that'll come out right the
- 27:56Speaker 8: week of Thanksgiving. So we are a rock and rolling.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Is it kind of like the old kV IL Christmas Catalog.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Or Steve?
- 28:07Speaker 3: You may not, I don't know. Do you remember the
- 28:10Speaker 3: KVL Christmas Catalog?
- 28:12Speaker 8: Familiar with that? But I can tell from the tone
- 28:14Speaker 8: of your voice, I should say.
- 28:15Speaker 3: Now, oh, listen the kV IL Christmas Catalog. Dan can
- 28:20Speaker 3: attest to this. At one point it was probably the
- 28:23Speaker 3: biggest thing in media when it came out.
- 28:27Speaker 1: It was I mean it was basically Ron Chapman, the
- 28:31Speaker 1: morning show legend at KVL, just going through basically what
- 28:35Speaker 1: you do in audio form, talking about all these great
- 28:39Speaker 1: gifts that were in this kV IL Christmas catalog that
- 28:42Speaker 1: you could buy. And I think it was also when
- 28:44Speaker 1: all these things and that was their big Christmas promotion
- 28:47Speaker 1: every single year, and it did an amazing, amazing job,
- 28:50Speaker 1: and it was I think it was like two to
- 28:52Speaker 1: three hours of Ron Chapman just reading through a Christmas
- 28:56Speaker 1: catalog thing. But people ate it up.
- 28:58Speaker 8: Man, that's crazy.
- 29:01Speaker 1: It is crazy to think about, especially in today's short
- 29:03Speaker 1: attention span times. What we'll do, though, is we'll make
- 29:06Speaker 1: sure we'll get you on when your when your Christmas
- 29:09Speaker 1: catalog comes out, because we always love picking through that.
- 29:11Speaker 1: That's a lot of fun and we love getting your
- 29:14Speaker 1: top picks for holidays because honestly, that's where I get
- 29:16Speaker 1: gift ideas where everybody's from you.
- 29:18Speaker 2: You don't buy anybody anything.
- 29:21Speaker 1: No, I buy lots of people's stuff, just nothing for you.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Rush twenty years.
- 29:26Speaker 8: I've known you, I don't know that I've ever gotten
- 29:28Speaker 8: a gift.
- 29:29Speaker 2: But you won't.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Like I like to set the bar Low.
- 29:34Speaker 8: I mean, how many times do I have to give
- 29:36Speaker 8: you a positive TV experience to I don't know.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Right now, it's one, it's like three or four positive.
- 29:44Speaker 1: So yeah, you're definitely due for a gift. I'll be
- 29:47Speaker 1: to send you up. But I'm going to tell you, Steve,
- 29:50Speaker 1: be careful what be careful what you wish for because
- 29:52Speaker 1: the last time this show said a gift to Fox Four,
- 29:55Speaker 1: it was dressed in a bunny outfit and uh lingerie.
- 30:00Speaker 8: Yes, I recall that. I recall that again a little
- 30:05Speaker 8: before my time, but that tape has played quite often.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Fox Four actually posted it on two weeks ago.
- 30:12Speaker 8: I want to say that when we did like the
- 30:15Speaker 8: reveal of our new building, they did like a quick
- 30:18Speaker 8: retrospective and the bunny was in it.
- 30:21Speaker 1: It was that was Scott.
- 30:22Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 30:24Speaker 1: All right, well, Steve, thanks so much for taking the
- 30:25Speaker 1: time to hang out with us inside the Treehouse. I
- 30:27Speaker 1: hope this has been a positive audio experience for you,
- 30:31Speaker 1: and I look forward to next time I'm in town
- 30:34Speaker 1: sneaking into the good entrance of Fox Four as opposed
- 30:37Speaker 1: to the paid parking lot that you stuck me in.
- 30:40Speaker 8: There was parking arranged for you. I cannot help it
- 30:43Speaker 8: if you did not take advantage of it.
- 30:45Speaker 1: That was not in your email, sir.
- 30:47Speaker 8: It absolutely was it absolutely I'm gonna post it online.
- 30:51Speaker 1: I'm going to open that email back out and see
- 30:53Speaker 1: it and then then we'll see either way. Thank you,
- 30:55Speaker 1: Thank you for all right man.
- 30:56Speaker 8: Always good to see you. Thanks for having me up.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Thanks Steve, We'll talk to you later about you luck shows.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Thanks there he goes Steve novi Ello from Fox. Hi, Steve,
- 31:09Speaker 1: I always liked.
- 31:10Speaker 2: The name and Marcus catalog was the one that, uh,
- 31:14Speaker 2: that was the one that I loved because there was
- 31:15Speaker 2: just stuff in there, like nobody could well people in
- 31:19Speaker 2: Highland Park could afford. Uh, but like as a skip kid,
- 31:23Speaker 2: Like there was one time they had like a kid's submarine.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Oh yeah, like it was like thirty six thousand dollars
- 31:29Speaker 2: in the in the nineties.
- 31:31Speaker 1: I was, I was. I think the J. C. Pennies
- 31:33Speaker 1: catalog was a big one when I was when I
- 31:35Speaker 1: was a single digits. The Sears was a big one
- 31:39Speaker 1: when I was single digits. But once I hit double digits,
- 31:42Speaker 1: I was real big into that. Fredericks a Hollywood catalog.

- 33:51Speaker 1: their shows. Because I'd love for Steve to like just
- 33:53Speaker 1: sit down somewhere and plug in the internet the way
- 33:55Speaker 1: we all do our setups. But he's so busy he
- 33:58Speaker 1: doesn't have a chance to even probably he really ever
- 34:01Speaker 1: go to the bathroom, which would be an interesting segment.
- 34:05Speaker 2: But that's why I think he was saying, you know,
- 34:07Speaker 2: implying that he needed an assistant to help organize stuff
- 34:10Speaker 2: like this and get him into you know.
- 34:14Speaker 1: Well see they're they're in they're in lives where he
- 34:17Speaker 1: needs to be careful When he says, well, then you know,
- 34:19Speaker 1: if you want to, if you want to come back
- 34:20Speaker 1: from the islands and and work with me, and blah
- 34:23Speaker 1: blah blah, it's like roll Steve. Right now, you're doing
- 34:25Speaker 1: the ten. If I show up, I'm gonna have you
- 34:27Speaker 1: being recorded doing the two and the ratings will be
- 34:32Speaker 1: through the roof, especially if we can get you on
- 34:34Speaker 1: one of those couples toilets with Hannah Patah. Remember that
- 34:40Speaker 1: from Saturday Night Live it was the lover's toilets in
- 34:43Speaker 1: the center of the room, facing opposite directions and having
- 34:46Speaker 1: a chat. You tell me that they'll be, they'll be.
- 34:49Speaker 1: They'll be replacing Kelly and Mark in no time. Which,
- 34:56Speaker 1: by the way, did you guys know that Live with
- 34:59Speaker 1: Kelly is now Live with I think it's now live
- 35:01Speaker 1: because I guess Ryan Seacrest left the show permanently to
- 35:05Speaker 1: go do every other show. Well fortune, Yeah, so now
- 35:10Speaker 1: it's just Live with Kelly and her husband Mark. So
- 35:12Speaker 1: it just I don't see if that working. The only
- 35:16Speaker 1: reason I saw it was because it was on at
- 35:17Speaker 1: the dentist office the other day when I was and
- 35:20Speaker 1: I was like, this show just makes me feel bad
- 35:22Speaker 1: about myself because here's a married couple, and look, I'm
- 35:26Speaker 1: happily married. But I would imagine those two being on
- 35:29Speaker 1: TV being so happy and cheerful with one another. It's
- 35:31Speaker 1: going to make some people at home really upset. What
- 35:34Speaker 1: triggered me was the fact that I'm looking at at Mark,
- 35:36Speaker 1: was it Consuelos, Kelly Ripp's husband. The dude's older than me.
- 35:41Speaker 1: He's he's shredded, he's absolutely ripped. That part didn't even
- 35:45Speaker 1: bother me that much. The fact is that I was
- 35:48Speaker 1: at the dentist watching this and his teeth are so
- 35:51Speaker 1: perfect made it made me feel bad about myself. I'm like,
- 35:55Speaker 1: my god, that's just not fair. Yeah, that's why. That's
- 36:02Speaker 1: why they had the show on then in the dentist office.
- 36:04Speaker 1: It was their way of saying, you know, if you
- 36:06Speaker 1: want to look at like this, you know, just get
- 36:08Speaker 1: some you know, we we sell these. You can finance
- 36:10Speaker 1: your veneers. They pay cash on TV, but you know,
- 36:13Speaker 1: you we have a good financer.
- 36:15Speaker 3: I think he's I think that's been going on. Is
- 36:17Speaker 3: I think Seacrest left the show a year or two ago?
- 36:21Speaker 1: Really okay?
- 36:22Speaker 3: Yeah, Like actually he didn't leave to go do Wheel
- 36:24Speaker 3: of Fortune. He just left because I think he wanted
- 36:27Speaker 3: to be back on the West coast.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Yeah, and I get that. And I also wonder, I
- 36:32Speaker 1: wonder which number is higher for Ryan Sea Christ his
- 36:36Speaker 1: sexual body count or how many TV shows he's done. Yes,
- 36:43Speaker 1: make you think it's the same.
- 36:45Speaker 2: Same, Yeah, and he does. I mean he took over
- 36:50Speaker 2: for Dick CLARKK and all the stuff that Dick Clark
- 36:53Speaker 2: Productions is doing and still does.
- 36:57Speaker 3: I read a.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Thing in I think it was men's health when they
- 37:00Speaker 2: were talking about like his will workout or whatever it
- 37:02Speaker 2: is he has before he's done for the day. Just
- 37:06Speaker 2: during the day, he has eight minutes of free time.
- 37:11Speaker 2: That's how many shows he does between the d.
- 37:13Speaker 3: And so there was there was a guy that worked
- 37:17Speaker 3: at iHeart that actually left iHeart Production to go work
- 37:21Speaker 3: for Seacrest and he said, you know, they get called
- 37:25Speaker 3: they'll get called it at they would get called it
- 37:27Speaker 3: one o'clock in the morning to come into his house
- 37:29Speaker 3: because he wanted to record something. Oh, this is back
- 37:32Speaker 3: what I don't even know if he's still doing radio,
- 37:35Speaker 3: but this is back when he was doing radio.
- 37:37Speaker 1: I believe he is. I think not only is he
- 37:39Speaker 1: doing I think he's on Middays or afternoons on either
- 37:43Speaker 1: one O two point one or one O two point nine,
- 37:45Speaker 1: one of the one of the iHeart one O two stations.
- 37:49Speaker 1: And but I think he still does the morning show.
- 37:51Speaker 1: They just take delay it for DFW. I think he
- 37:56Speaker 1: still does the morning show in LA but he does
- 37:59Speaker 1: it from wherever he is, so I think for the
- 38:01Speaker 1: most part he's typically doing it remotely. Then now he's
- 38:04Speaker 1: got Wheel of Fortune, I think he's still doing I'm
- 38:12Speaker 1: actually losing track of all the shows that.
- 38:13Speaker 2: He's not American. It's not American Idol isn't.
- 38:15Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, I think I think he went back to
- 38:17Speaker 1: American Idol.
- 38:18Speaker 2: Yeah, so he's got four or five in a day.
- 38:23Speaker 3: I think American Idols on its last leg. But here's
- 38:26Speaker 3: an interesting factoid. You mentioned Dick Clark. Do you know
- 38:28Speaker 3: what Dick Clark's most valuable asset was? No, mm hmm,
- 38:37Speaker 3: he owns all He owned all the Krispy Kremes in
- 38:40Speaker 3: Great Britain.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Wow, that's a weird. That's a weird purchase to make.
- 38:46Speaker 3: When he died. I was reading this deal, you know,
- 38:48Speaker 3: because obviously Dick Clark Productions was a lot bigger than
- 38:52Speaker 3: people realized with the Top forty Countdown and New Year's
- 38:56Speaker 3: Eve and everything else. But they said his actually where
- 38:59Speaker 3: he made the most money was he had uh bought
- 39:04Speaker 3: the rights to do all the Krispy Kremes in Great Britain.
- 39:07Speaker 1: You know what. And everyone likes to make fun of
- 39:09Speaker 1: Seacrest because he basically does everything that Dick Clark dick.
- 39:13Speaker 1: So while he has not invested in Krispy Creams, he
- 39:19Speaker 1: is heavily invested in their Kardashians. And I think that
- 39:22Speaker 1: that's pretty equal. Both both are man made and bad
- 39:29Speaker 1: for you.
- 39:34Speaker 2: Uh yeah, and uh I will.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Rot your teeth and leave you needing veneers.
- 39:41Speaker 3: At least the kris won't want you to change your gender.
- 39:49Speaker 2: You go from glaze to sprinkles.
- 39:54Speaker 1: This is the Bruce donut.

- 40:54Speaker 1: that we've talked about Raj being a vomit fountain, We've
- 40:57Speaker 1: talked to Steve Noviello how he's Fox Four's Wolverine, and
- 41:02Speaker 1: how Fox four has really bad WiFi. You know, I
- 41:06Speaker 1: think it's time for some birthdays. Today is in case
- 41:13Speaker 1: you need to know Tuesday, October eighth, twenty twenty four
- 41:19Speaker 1: birthdays today. She is an actress. She made millions on
- 41:25Speaker 1: Only Fans while allegedly doing research for a sexy role.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Bella Thorne is twenty seven. Today. She was C. C.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Jones on the Disney Channel's Shake It Up. She was
- 41:37Speaker 1: also Bell in Amityville The Reawakening. Angus T. Jones is
- 41:42Speaker 1: the half man on Two and a Half Men. He
- 41:44Speaker 1: turns thirty one today. He found religion and denounced the show,
- 41:49Speaker 1: but he did return for the finale, so he made
- 41:51Speaker 1: a lot of money first, then he found Jesus. That's
- 41:54Speaker 1: the Hollywood way. Dollie Quinn is thirty one. She plays
- 42:03Speaker 1: raj Will know this as a huge fan of Castle.
- 42:05Speaker 1: She plays Alexis Castle on Castle Show, Yeah Show with
- 42:09Speaker 1: Nathan Philly. You're a huge Castle fan.
- 42:11Speaker 2: Rush, I'm a big I'm a big Castle fan and
- 42:13Speaker 2: Nathan Fillion. It was one of those weird moments. I
- 42:15Speaker 2: was watching Castle and I just wanted to check my
- 42:17Speaker 2: Instagram and he started following me on Instagram.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Have you seen everything Nathan Phillion has done?
- 42:24Speaker 2: Going back to it was the Two Girls in a
- 42:28Speaker 2: Pizza Two guys in a pizza place. I think he
- 42:30Speaker 2: was on that. Yep, I did see that. I do.
- 42:34Speaker 2: I need to catch up on the Rookie. I did
- 42:35Speaker 2: see almost all of season one. I think it's on
- 42:37Speaker 2: season four by now.
- 42:40Speaker 3: And then a sci fi show I can't think of
- 42:44Speaker 3: the name of it.
- 42:44Speaker 2: Yeah, that was. It was like the Guardians of the
- 42:46Speaker 2: Galaxy kind of thing.
- 42:48Speaker 1: Yeah. The movie was Serenity. And for some reason, I'm
- 42:53Speaker 1: but I'm drawing a name, drawn a blank on the
- 42:56Speaker 1: freaking TV show name and I have people five or
- 42:59Speaker 1: something like that. Oh god, no, how dare you say
- 43:01Speaker 1: it like that? Nathan? I have to I have. This
- 43:04Speaker 1: is something I can't wait to look up. And this
- 43:06Speaker 1: is one of those This is one of those great
- 43:08Speaker 1: moments where it's a peek inside my brain and I'm
- 43:10Speaker 1: glad that Tray you're feeling it as well, because I
- 43:12Speaker 1: know the answer to this. It's in there. I know
- 43:15Speaker 1: the show. I've talked twice so much for me building
- 43:19Speaker 1: up to it, but I did I've watched the show
- 43:24Speaker 1: twice through the show was Firefly. Yeah, it's a great
- 43:27Speaker 1: show and at one point we may bring it back.
- 43:30Speaker 1: We were using it for the intro music, we were
- 43:33Speaker 1: using it for a traffic bed at one point.
- 43:35Speaker 8: It's always fun.
- 43:36Speaker 2: Oh cool, I will check it. Is that a sci
- 43:38Speaker 2: fi thing too?
- 43:39Speaker 1: It's a sci fi think and it's one of those
- 43:41Speaker 1: things where it's you're probably gonna hate it, but it's
- 43:44Speaker 1: one of those cult classic kind of things. I think
- 43:45Speaker 1: it ran for like nineteen episodes or something really odd
- 43:48Speaker 1: like that. But they ended up turning it into a
- 43:53Speaker 1: movie called Serenity, and so they tried to tie it
- 43:56Speaker 1: up that by making a movie out of it. From
- 43:58Speaker 1: the series, but yeah, that's why I ask if you've
- 44:01Speaker 1: seen everything stuff?
- 44:02Speaker 2: Yeah, and then he ended Castle and what's her name?
- 44:09Speaker 2: The girl that plays Beckett, she found out through a
- 44:17Speaker 2: press release, like she didn't know that she they were
- 44:19Speaker 2: going to do the show, and she found out she
- 44:21Speaker 2: wasn't going to be on it, and neither was the daughter.
- 44:24Speaker 2: I think they were gonna have the daughter move away
- 44:26Speaker 2: and then Beckett, you know, go do something else. And
- 44:29Speaker 2: that's why the show ends really weird, Like there's an
- 44:33Speaker 2: episode with I think the final episode is they come
- 44:35Speaker 2: home and they both get shot. You think they're dead,
- 44:38Speaker 2: and then there there's the kids running around, and then
- 44:41Speaker 2: they were running around behind them, and then the show ends.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Yeah, it's really interesting how Hollywood can do such a
- 44:46Speaker 1: good job in a lot of cases of putting out
- 44:50Speaker 1: a great show, but then they absolutely just got the ending.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Yeah, The Dallas was a great example that.
- 45:00Speaker 1: There are tons of great examples of it. I mean,
- 45:03Speaker 1: it's like they haven't learned yet.
- 45:05Speaker 2: Well.
- 45:05Speaker 3: It's also it's a difference in shows choosing to go
- 45:10Speaker 3: off the air. Yeah, Typically when they choose to do that,
- 45:13Speaker 3: they tie everything up and it's done pretty well. There
- 45:16Speaker 3: are some, you know, although I've never watched it, I
- 45:18Speaker 3: think Game of Thrones probably is the biggest example of
- 45:21Speaker 3: people absolutely hating the way they ended it. But the
- 45:23Speaker 3: other one is they stay on too long or you know,
- 45:25Speaker 3: they get canceled, and then it's it's always abrupt.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Exactly, which which I can identify with because that's what
- 45:32Speaker 1: happened when we got told to leave The Eagle just
- 45:38Speaker 1: over two years ago. Because it's kind of mid stream
- 45:41Speaker 1: because we did a last show on Friday, we didn't
- 45:44Speaker 1: know it was our last show. Now, keep in mind,
- 45:46Speaker 1: for two years we knew the Acts was coming down.
- 45:50Speaker 1: It was just coming down very very very very very slowly.
- 45:55Speaker 1: But then about a month two months before, we're like, okay,
- 45:59Speaker 1: the Acts has come down much much faster now. I
- 46:01Speaker 1: can look up and see it's coming much faster now.
- 46:04Speaker 1: So we cleared out our offices and everything. So we
- 46:06Speaker 1: knew it was coming, but we weren't officially told until
- 46:10Speaker 1: a Monday morning. So we did our final show on
- 46:12Speaker 1: a Friday, not knowing it was going to be our
- 46:14Speaker 1: final show, so we get we didn't have a chance
- 46:16Speaker 1: to say any goodbye or give the listeners any sort
- 46:19Speaker 1: of closure or tell them what's going to happen. Instead,
- 46:22Speaker 1: it was Monday. They just got more of something that
- 46:25Speaker 1: they didn't ask for. And then when we started the podcast,
- 46:31Speaker 1: what I did was I just kind of picked up
- 46:33Speaker 1: where we left off by saying so as I was
- 46:36Speaker 1: saying from the last time on the radio. And then
- 46:40Speaker 1: and then a couple of days ago, I see Trump
- 46:42Speaker 1: stole my bit in Pennsylvania and everyone's like, oh my god,
- 46:46Speaker 1: that's the greatest thing ever. I'm like, man, I did
- 46:48Speaker 1: that a year and a half ago.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Well, you have to find out who the speech writer
- 46:52Speaker 2: was and see if they lived here and then and
- 46:55Speaker 2: then wrote for him. Because that's that's just an odd
- 46:58Speaker 2: parallel thought to do it the same way. But as
- 47:01Speaker 2: I was saying, which was great.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Before I was so rudely interrupted, I think I also
- 47:06Speaker 1: threw that in so anyway, Yeah, so, yeah, when Hollywood
- 47:14Speaker 1: screws up, you know the endings of things like that,
- 47:16Speaker 1: And you're right, Trey, like, if you give the show
- 47:18Speaker 1: an opportunity to end itself, it's usually better. The great
- 47:22Speaker 1: example that that did not work was in the case
- 47:25Speaker 1: of Game of Thrones, because they knew they were ending it,
- 47:27Speaker 1: but they rushed through it because they were supposedly moving
- 47:31Speaker 1: on to do Star Wars stuff. But what they didn't
- 47:33Speaker 1: think about was they were so excited to leave Game
- 47:36Speaker 1: of Thrones to go do Star Wars stuff that they
- 47:38Speaker 1: didn't stick their show's landing. They didn't stick their show's ending.
- 47:42Speaker 1: And because they screwed it up, Disney was like, We're
- 47:47Speaker 1: not gonna have you do any Star Wars stuff. You
- 47:48Speaker 1: couldn't even finish out your own show. Oh no, no,
- 47:53Speaker 1: no Star Wars for you. You couldn't even you couldn't
- 47:56Speaker 1: even put a bow on your own show properly.
- 47:59Speaker 2: I never got into Game of Thrones. I never I'm like,
- 48:03Speaker 2: I don't get it. The the little the little guys,
- 48:06Speaker 2: like the King. I don't understand.
- 48:08Speaker 1: If you see all the things you say you don't
- 48:10Speaker 1: understand Raj. When it comes to film and television, all
- 48:12Speaker 1: those things actually okay, most some of those things make
- 48:17Speaker 1: sense when you watch the content, and then in the
- 48:20Speaker 1: context of Game of Thrones, you see Tyrian Landister, the
- 48:23Speaker 1: little guy, he's kind of like the King. Yes, when
- 48:26Speaker 1: you watch the show, it absolutely makes sense.
- 48:30Speaker 3: Game of Throw I watched the first season everyone and
- 48:33Speaker 3: I couldn't.
- 48:34Speaker 2: I was.
- 48:35Speaker 3: I hated it, and everyone's like, oh, get past the
- 48:37Speaker 3: first season and it's great. First was whipping just to
- 48:41Speaker 3: get through.
- 48:41Speaker 2: I hate when people say that. It's like, if you
- 48:43Speaker 2: get through the first like eight episodes, it gets really good.
- 48:45Speaker 2: I'm like that, But then I have to waste my
- 48:47Speaker 2: time with the first eight episodes.
- 48:48Speaker 3: So no, I'm not going to do that. I'll give
- 48:50Speaker 3: a show four episodes because I understand a lot of
- 48:53Speaker 3: times they're they're trying to build a storyline and everything else,
- 48:57Speaker 3: but after four you gotta get going.
- 49:00Speaker 1: I'm surprised it took you that long. I'm sorry you
- 49:02Speaker 1: didn't get hooked on it. Because our friend who told
- 49:04Speaker 1: us to watch Game of Thrones, she was like, Okay,
- 49:06Speaker 1: just just watch three episodes and you'll probably be hooked.
- 49:09Speaker 1: And I'm like you, I'm not gonna waste I'm not
- 49:11Speaker 1: gonna waste my life of an entire season just to hope.
- 49:14Speaker 1: I like something. I was hooked in the scene where
- 49:17Speaker 1: you've got the the brother and the sister in the
- 49:20Speaker 1: top of this castle tower and one of these kids
- 49:23Speaker 1: sees them and what are they two?
- 49:25Speaker 2: What is this?
- 49:25Speaker 10: What is this incestuous pair? Du They pushed that kid
- 49:30Speaker 10: out the window. I'm like, this show is awesome. I'm
- 49:35Speaker 10: not saying that on Big Bang Theory.
- 49:42Speaker 2: All would have made the show good, because that show
- 49:44Speaker 2: is terrible.
- 49:45Speaker 3: That shows great.
- 49:46Speaker 2: That's terrible.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Oh no, here's our next debate. I'm just gonna throw
- 49:50Speaker 1: a knife between the two of you and see what happens.
- 49:55Speaker 6: You're in Visit us online how long here.

- 51:27Speaker 1: this actually happened last week, but it's so stupid, I
- 51:31Speaker 1: feel like we could really talk about it anytime. Did
- 51:35Speaker 1: you guys hear about the man that was seriously injured
- 51:37Speaker 1: after he fell into an abandoned grain silo and Fort
- 51:40Speaker 1: Worth No, he was doing something known as urban exploring
- 51:51Speaker 1: that should not be a thing, just urban exploring, like
- 51:56Speaker 1: it actually just sounds like lazy parkour. Yeah, because at
- 52:00Speaker 1: least with our couri you're running and jumping and doing
- 52:02Speaker 1: flips off of things that are urban and urban environments.
- 52:05Speaker 1: But here it's just, uh, look there's a grain side,
- 52:08Speaker 1: Let me go up and climb on it and then
- 52:10Speaker 1: die in it.
- 52:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:12Speaker 2: And they also like take pictures and video and they
- 52:14Speaker 2: like upload it to their social media stuff, so sometimes
- 52:17Speaker 2: you will actually see them die.
- 52:20Speaker 1: So oh we almost we almost did. Last week, fort
- 52:23Speaker 1: With firefighters spent more than two hours rescuing a man
- 52:27Speaker 1: who fell inside an abandoned grain silo and broke his leg.
- 52:31Speaker 1: First responders treated the man inside the building and then
- 52:34Speaker 1: hoisted him on a stretcher through a fifty story window fire.
- 52:38Speaker 1: The fire department spokesperson Craig Trajachik, sorry if you butchered that, Craig.
- 52:43Speaker 1: He told WFAA it's not clear why the man was
- 52:45Speaker 1: inside the one hundred year old complex, but that he
- 52:48Speaker 1: fell more than ten feet. Another person who was with
- 52:50Speaker 1: the man called nine to one one around eleven forty
- 52:53Speaker 1: five at night. One of the uh I guess. Theories
- 53:01Speaker 1: is that this man was doing urban exploring. The silos
- 53:05Speaker 1: on South Main Street and Fort Worth Reek of human waste,
- 53:08Speaker 1: but still such buildings are popular with urban explorers. The
- 53:13Speaker 1: fire department spokesperson said, you're putting yourself at risk, and
- 53:16Speaker 1: he said he understands why the buildings are inviting to
- 53:18Speaker 1: curious people. In twenty sixteen, to seventeen year old from
- 53:22Speaker 1: Haltime City fell down a green shoot and died inside
- 53:24Speaker 1: the facility. Stop exploring all death traps. Yeah, Also, would
- 53:31Speaker 1: it kill you to put up a caution tape?
- 53:34Speaker 2: Oh?
- 53:34Speaker 3: I bet there's I bet there are warning signs all
- 53:36Speaker 3: over the place. In the country. They call this city
- 53:38Speaker 3: people do a dumb beep.
- 53:42Speaker 1: You're right, that's very very true, now you know there.
- 53:45Speaker 1: I don't think there is a I don't think there's
- 53:46Speaker 1: a YouTube channel called Country Explorers.
- 53:50Speaker 2: I just like, why would you go into a place
- 53:55Speaker 2: filled with crap? Like literally human crap, Like that's what
- 53:59Speaker 2: you guys want. And he's like, but I can understand
- 54:01Speaker 2: why people do it, And I'm like.
- 54:04Speaker 1: You, I can't. I'm with you. I don't understand this
- 54:07Speaker 1: urban exploring phenomena. You're not exploring anything it's already been found.
- 54:12Speaker 1: You're not Columbus of grain silos. You're not Magellan of
- 54:16Speaker 1: grain shoots. I mean this is this is really dumb
- 54:19Speaker 1: going around to like like an old concrete factory and
- 54:22Speaker 1: mid loathing and thinking that you're, you know, ponce daily
- 54:25Speaker 1: Owner's some nonsense.
- 54:27Speaker 2: What if you find something cool inside? Like what if
- 54:29Speaker 2: you find like stuff that they left behind that hasn't
- 54:32Speaker 2: been pooped on and.
- 54:35Speaker 3: In a grain silo, You're gonna find grain and you're
- 54:37Speaker 3: gonna end up drowning in it.
- 54:38Speaker 1: Yeah, grain silos are terrifying. Yes, yes, they are just
- 54:43Speaker 1: like like grain silos have two functions, and two functions
- 54:48Speaker 1: only one store grain and two is to kill people.
- 54:52Speaker 2: Yes, horrifically. Yeah, I'm just saying like that, What was
- 54:57Speaker 2: the name of the gun? Do we have a name
- 54:59Speaker 2: for him?
- 55:00Speaker 1: Let me see see. Well, his nickname is moron.
- 55:07Speaker 2: Steve dumbass Jenkins.
- 55:12Speaker 1: No, I don't see it says medics took the man,
- 55:14Speaker 1: who has not been identified, to a nearby hospital with
- 55:17Speaker 1: serious injuries. So it's nice of first responders not further
- 55:22Speaker 1: embarrassing by releasing his name.
- 55:24Speaker 2: Yes, but it would be it would be poetic justice
- 55:28Speaker 2: if they did just so people can every now and then,
- 55:31Speaker 2: you know, now and again, when people will see him
- 55:33Speaker 2: out and about, they can just point their fingers and laugh.
- 55:36Speaker 1: And you know what, I think they still can. They
- 55:39Speaker 1: can just point their fingers and laugh at the great Cornholio.
- 55:46Speaker 4: Rose.
- 55:47Speaker 3: Would you be willing to take a bet that his
- 55:48Speaker 3: last name wasn't Patel?
- 55:50Speaker 2: That's right, we're.
