- 0:22Speaker 1: Welcome to Revealing Wholeness podcast dedicated to revealing the profound
- 0:26Speaker 1: connections between body, mind, and spirit, where we believe that
- 0:29Speaker 1: true wellness arises from addressing the root causes of our
- 0:32Speaker 1: health challenges, not just masking the symptoms. Here we dive
- 0:35Speaker 1: deep into how holistic approaches such as advanced chiropractic care,
- 0:39Speaker 1: personalized nutrition, and natural healing practices can transform your life.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Now Here is doctor Troy.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Hello one, Welcome. I'm doctor Troy. As a chiropractor, it
- 0:57Speaker 3: is common that people ask me, hey, how long is
- 1:01Speaker 3: my care going to be? Now, normally I'm going to
- 1:04Speaker 3: address that before I ever get that question, but I
- 1:06Speaker 3: do get it on occasion before I can tell them
- 1:09Speaker 3: roughly what my opinion is of what's going on with them.
- 1:13Speaker 3: But there is one indicator in a person's history that
- 1:17Speaker 3: is the most telling of how long your care will
- 1:22Speaker 3: be in my office or in any chiropractor's office. Now,
- 1:25Speaker 3: if you're a chiropractor out there have been under care,
- 1:28Speaker 3: or you're a healthcare professional, you might be guessing right now,
- 1:30Speaker 3: and that's great, go ahead and pause and guess. And
- 1:33Speaker 3: you might guess some things like how much degeneration do
- 1:37Speaker 3: they have? And yes, but if you ask a patient
- 1:41Speaker 3: how much degeneration do you have? Will they know? No?
- 1:46Speaker 3: But when we do X rays we'll absolutely know. But
- 1:50Speaker 3: what ultimately causes most of that degeneration that's going to
- 1:53Speaker 3: dictate how long their program will be. And if you
- 1:57Speaker 3: answered any kind of crash, motor vehicle accident, motorcycle ATV,
- 2:04Speaker 3: quad bicycle, fall off a house, then you'd be correct.
- 2:09Speaker 3: It is that part of the history that is the
- 2:12Speaker 3: most telling of what what am I up against in
- 2:15Speaker 3: helping somebody recover and heal. Now, this is different than
- 2:19Speaker 3: just saying, hey, how many visits until I'm out of pain?
- 2:22Speaker 3: The average person literally six visits at a chiropractor is
- 2:26Speaker 3: typically going to be pretty darn good and feel fairly
- 2:29Speaker 3: pain free. Now, with a motor vehicle crash, fresh for sure,
- 2:34Speaker 3: you're not going to do that in six visits unless
- 2:37Speaker 3: you're really young and the damage is it much. But
- 2:40Speaker 3: for those that just come wandering into a chiropractic office
- 2:43Speaker 3: and they're like, hey, I've got neck a pain and
- 2:45Speaker 3: headaches or got low back pain.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Hey what you do?
- 2:47Speaker 3: I don't know, it just started hurting. It just started
- 2:50Speaker 3: out of the blue.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Uh huh.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Then I'm looking for the most interesting thing in their history,
- 2:57Speaker 3: which is their last accident. It literally will be sick
- 3:00Speaker 3: months to a year, or it'll be seven or eight
- 3:03Speaker 3: years ago, or it'll be around twenty. It's strange because
- 3:08Speaker 3: the body after about six months after an accident, all
- 3:11Speaker 3: of a sudden's like, I'm really sore. I didn't do anything.
- 3:14Speaker 3: And they'll come in and I'll hear this like, hey,
- 3:16Speaker 3: I had a oh yeah, I was in an auto
- 3:18Speaker 3: accident like eight months ago. That sounds about right. And
- 3:22Speaker 3: then if they if they bypass this, their body will
- 3:24Speaker 3: kind of suck it up and move on and try
- 3:26Speaker 3: to do the best it can to oh get things
- 3:30Speaker 3: finagled into a certain position that it can at least
- 3:33Speaker 3: cope with. And then finally, when degeneration gets bad enough
- 3:37Speaker 3: and we can start seeing it on X ray, they'll
- 3:39Speaker 3: come in and around seven eight years post injury, seven
- 3:43Speaker 3: or eight years post injury. So then I'll ask, okay,
- 3:48Speaker 3: so when was your last motorio crash, Like I've never
- 3:51Speaker 3: been a one, And I'll say, okay, you know, we'll
- 3:54Speaker 3: do X rays and I see degeneration that I can
- 3:56Speaker 3: just start to see. I said, it takes about seven
- 3:58Speaker 3: or eight years for this to happen and to be
- 4:00Speaker 3: able to see what you have going on. And so
- 4:03Speaker 3: I'm guessing that you were in some type of accident
- 4:05Speaker 3: about seven or eight years ago. And I'll name the year,
- 4:08Speaker 3: and they'll think and it usually takes about five to
- 4:11Speaker 3: ten seconds like, oh, my gosh, I was, and they'll
- 4:15Speaker 3: start putting pieces together. And then ultimately you'll you'll have
- 4:19Speaker 3: the people where now their degeneration in their neck and
- 4:21Speaker 3: back looks pretty spectacular. It's quite far down the road.
- 4:26Speaker 3: And I'll ask, about twenty twenty five years ago, you're
- 4:29Speaker 3: in some sort of pretty decent accident. Oh, yeah, I was,
- 4:32Speaker 3: I was whatever age and this happened. Yeah, that makes sense.
- 4:37Speaker 3: And ultimately, you know, when you have a body that looks,
- 4:41Speaker 3: you know, like there's degeneration, you want it to make sense.
- 4:44Speaker 3: You don't want to be like you don't know what
- 4:47Speaker 3: you did well, that's kind of disconcerting, and so you
- 4:50Speaker 3: want pieces to fit together, and ultimately it it is
- 4:55Speaker 3: this whiplash type accident blunt trauma that is going to
- 5:02Speaker 3: eventually drive people into a chiropractic office, or they're going
- 5:06Speaker 3: to go to a physical therapist. They're going to go
- 5:08Speaker 3: to an acupuncturist or massage therapist. They're going to try
- 5:11Speaker 3: to get relief some way, shape, or form for their
- 5:13Speaker 3: muscular skeletal injury, even though it's beyond that at that time,
- 5:17Speaker 3: once you start tearing down bone and joint, you're at
- 5:21Speaker 3: what we call a three tier system. And so the
- 5:25Speaker 3: very first tier of the system is lymphatic damage. They
- 5:29Speaker 3: get sick more, they get allergies, they get congestion, they
- 5:33Speaker 3: don't feel well all the time, they maybe have some fatigue,
- 5:37Speaker 3: and then once that kind of you know, they just
- 5:39Speaker 3: deal with it over time. Then they have you know,
- 5:44Speaker 3: musculo skeletal and organ dysfunction, and so we're getting the
- 5:47Speaker 3: second third tier system going on by the time they
- 5:51Speaker 3: come in because they usually have more than just muscular
- 5:54Speaker 3: skeletal issues. Hey, do you have indigestion, well, on occasion,
- 5:58Speaker 3: but it's not bad. How your bowels move, Hey, they
- 6:01Speaker 3: move fine, once a week. Okay, that's not okay. How's
- 6:04Speaker 3: your skin doing well? I mean I got acne but
- 6:06Speaker 3: it's not a big deal. Or I've got roseaesiare if
- 6:09Speaker 3: I've got eggzema, or I've got you know, psoriasis or whatever,
- 6:13Speaker 3: or I got little bumps in the back of my arm.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Oh okay, got it. And you know then you start
- 6:17Speaker 3: as hey, are you on have any medication? Well, yeah,
- 6:20Speaker 3: I don't have any digestive issues, but I'm on prilo sec.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Well what if it happens if you had stop taking privacy, Well,
- 6:25Speaker 3: they're not to have digestive issues. Oh, got it. So
- 6:28Speaker 3: you don't think you have any issues because you're on
- 6:29Speaker 3: a medication. It's masking the symptom, I understand. And so
- 6:33Speaker 3: we have this these systems that will start going south
- 6:36Speaker 3: or going down, and we think it's just called aging.
- 6:41Speaker 3: And it's it's fun to have people realize that. You mean,
- 6:46Speaker 3: I don't have to just think I'm getting old. No,
- 6:50Speaker 3: you don't have to think you're just getting old. You
- 6:53Speaker 3: actually can undo some damage. But think about this, if
- 6:57Speaker 3: our body was nutritionally sound and it had plenty of nutrition,
- 7:02Speaker 3: it wouldn't have allowed the degenerative changes in your neck
- 7:06Speaker 3: and back to all of a sudden present with headaches
- 7:08Speaker 3: or mid back pain or low back pain or shoulder
- 7:11Speaker 3: pain or chronic neck pain or jaw pain or whatever
- 7:14Speaker 3: it is. And so as we educate our clients just
- 7:20Speaker 3: a little bit on, you know, the cells of the
- 7:22Speaker 3: body want to heal, and if they are not healing
- 7:26Speaker 3: and they're degenerating instead, it means that you do not
- 7:29Speaker 3: have the nutritional density that you should or could. And
- 7:34Speaker 3: while chiropractic eighty years ago had a lot better nutrition
- 7:38Speaker 3: behind the bodies that they adjusted, it is a different
- 7:43Speaker 3: place where. I mean, you talk to old chiropractors that
- 7:47Speaker 3: practiced in the fifties forties, if they're even still alive
- 7:51Speaker 3: at this point, that was a while ago. But there's
- 7:53Speaker 3: some that are still alive. They'll tell you back then
- 7:56Speaker 3: that you know, one or two adjustments is amazing. And
- 7:59Speaker 3: now it's like you see a chiropractor six seven, eight, ten, eighteen,
- 8:03Speaker 3: twenty times and you're starting to feel a little bit better,
- 8:07Speaker 3: and we wonder why it doesn't go as well as
- 8:10Speaker 3: it used to, And that's because bodies are more nutrient
- 8:14Speaker 3: deficient than ever, and every year it gets worse. So
- 8:18Speaker 3: when my clients get better with a couple of adjustments,
- 8:21Speaker 3: but not everything gets better. And I give them just
- 8:24Speaker 3: a couple of supplement samples and I said, hey, let
- 8:26Speaker 3: me know how this goes for you. And they come
- 8:29Speaker 3: back and they're like, man, whatever you gave me, that
- 8:30Speaker 3: was amazing. I said, isn't it nice to know the
- 8:33Speaker 3: nutrition well, well produced and in its right state, can
- 8:40Speaker 3: produce that kind of cool change in your body instantly? Yeah,
- 8:44Speaker 3: that's really cool. I said, Well, this is how nutrition
- 8:47Speaker 3: works when a system is really running like it's supposed to.
- 8:52Speaker 3: And so adjustments and nutrition are so integral and they're
- 8:57Speaker 3: so hand in hand in my office because my cl
- 9:00Speaker 3: clients understand, or rather my patients understand that every cell
- 9:05Speaker 3: wants to thing, it needs to have that communication from
- 9:10Speaker 3: the brain so that it does things correctly, and once
- 9:14Speaker 3: it gets its marching orders, that cell or tissue needs
- 9:18Speaker 3: the nutrients in order to do the job that has
- 9:20Speaker 3: been asked to do, that it's been designed to do,
- 9:22Speaker 3: that it lives to do, that it loves to do,
- 9:26Speaker 3: and so the body just loves to perform admirably all
- 9:30Speaker 3: the time, But when it's under the onslaught of miscommunication
- 9:35Speaker 3: by the brain and nervous system, which can come in
- 9:39Speaker 3: forms like I'm not good enough, I'm a piece of
- 9:42Speaker 3: garbage because that's what I've been told all my life,
- 9:45Speaker 3: or you're under a lot of stress and pressure, or
- 9:48Speaker 3: people are berating you all the time. This actually is
- 9:52Speaker 3: a detriment. This is actually a negative nutrient on the body.
- 9:58Speaker 3: But once we begin to let that go in and say,
- 10:00Speaker 3: you know what, I'm going to actually believe that I
- 10:02Speaker 3: am better than that, that I am well made, that
- 10:06Speaker 3: I am loved, that I am joy, that I am peace,
- 10:09Speaker 3: that I'm light. I'm going to believe something different about myself,
- 10:13Speaker 3: and I'm going to take the shackles off my nervous
- 10:16Speaker 3: system by believing differently, getting myself adjusted. And now I'm
- 10:21Speaker 3: going to start feeding these tissues differently as a form
- 10:24Speaker 3: of love to the body and say I'm here to
- 10:27Speaker 3: give you nutrients, and on occasion, I would like to
- 10:31Speaker 3: taste some really amazing food that might have a little
- 10:34Speaker 3: bit of sugar in that is that okay, and your
- 10:36Speaker 3: body will be just fine with that on occasion, But
- 10:40Speaker 3: to do it regularly may not be so wise. So
- 10:44Speaker 3: as we look at this whole thing called chiropractic and
- 10:49Speaker 3: these musculoskeletal injuries, they actually uncover a lot of functional
- 10:55Speaker 3: issues inside the body. It's why I do a holistic
- 10:58Speaker 3: form of chiropractic in looking at blood work, looking at
- 11:02Speaker 3: hair analysis, looking at heart scans, looking at your analysis,
- 11:06Speaker 3: looking at X rays, looking at MRIs, looking at the
- 11:09Speaker 3: body as a whole and not piecemeal like oh it's
- 11:13Speaker 3: a heart problem, or oh it's a it's a stomach problem,
- 11:17Speaker 3: when it isn't. It's never that alone. Oh it's a
- 11:19Speaker 3: shoulder problem. No it's not that alone. Oh it's just
- 11:22Speaker 3: a neck problem. No it's not that just alone. Oh
- 11:26Speaker 3: it's just a it's just a right hip problem. No
- 11:29Speaker 3: it's not. It is many different facets to each person's condition. Now,
- 11:34Speaker 3: if everything was equal, like I have perfect nutrition in
- 11:37Speaker 3: the body. Hey, yes, your hip problem may be related
- 11:41Speaker 3: to other things. But as soon as we unload all
- 11:43Speaker 3: those communication errors and now let your brain function an
- 11:47Speaker 3: optimal adjusting your spine and getting things back into alignment,
- 11:51Speaker 3: then I expect everybody else to do their job and
- 11:53Speaker 3: take the pressure off your right hip. And now all
- 11:55Speaker 3: of a sudden, you feel amazing like you should. And
- 11:58Speaker 3: so this is kind of chi practic in a nutshell
- 12:01Speaker 3: of how to explain to folks that your injuries and
- 12:04Speaker 3: accidents of your past actually do have substantial impact on
- 12:08Speaker 3: how you will heal and how quickly you will heal
- 12:11Speaker 3: in my office. So I hope that's helpful. It gives
- 12:13Speaker 3: you kind of some understanding, an idea about what to
- 12:15Speaker 3: expect out of your chiropractor. What should I expect out
- 12:18Speaker 3: of doing nutrition and how much grace should I give
- 12:21Speaker 3: my body as it's trying to heal and maybe the
- 12:24Speaker 3: punishment that I put it through for the last ten, fifteen, twenty,
- 12:26Speaker 3: thirty fifty years. So until next time I'm doctor, try
- 12:30Speaker 3: and remember there really is way more right with you
- 12:35Speaker 3: than there is wrong with you.
