Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Us this afternoon.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, let's welcome Apostle Joshua Selman as he
- 0:04Speaker 2: blesses us today. A true apostle Joshua.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Thank you. He's so so very much um It's my pleasure.
- 0:30Speaker 1: I want us to honor the state chairman of PFN.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I truly honor you, sir. Thank you so much.
- 0:39Speaker 2: And then all the executives, I have learned the difference
- 0:44Speaker 2: between people as friends, brothers, and in their official capacity.
- 0:48Speaker 1: And I will never abuse that.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I honor every single one of you in that capacity.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Let's give them a big, big God bless you. In
- 0:57Speaker 2: the name of Jesus. And I want to salute and
- 1:02Speaker 2: honor every man of God.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Most people here are preachers.
- 1:07Speaker 2: We do not do the things that we do because
- 1:10Speaker 2: we're necessarily better. It's an election of grace and the
- 1:14Speaker 2: mercy of God. My comment here this afternoon is to
- 1:18Speaker 2: help by the Spirit to make contributions to our efficiency
- 1:22Speaker 2: as ministers.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Of the gospel and then under this umbrella.
- 1:27Speaker 2: And I'm hoping that The few minutes that we have
- 1:29Speaker 2: to spend together that God will add grace to grace,
- 1:34Speaker 2: faith to faith in the name of Jesus, in the
- 1:37Speaker 2: name of Jesus Christ. Pastor Godman, again, I honor you.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Thank you so very much. Let's lift our hands and
- 1:44Speaker 2: ask the Lord to speak to us within these minutes
- 1:48Speaker 2: that we have to share fellowship together.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Someone is praying. My heart is opened. Speak to me.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Let the words bring perspective to my efficiency as a
- 2:04Speaker 2: minister of the gospel. Let PFN go from glory to glory.
- 2:12Speaker 2: In Jesus mighty name we pray. Help us this afternoon
- 2:16Speaker 2: spirit of the living God. Speak to us. Cause us
- 2:20Speaker 2: to understand. And that we make progress in life, destiny
- 2:25Speaker 2: and even in ministry. To you be all the glory.
- 2:28Speaker 2: For in Jesus name we pray. Please you may be
- 2:32Speaker 2: gloriously seated. Again, God bless you. I'll be talking about
- 2:36Speaker 2: three things very quickly. This is what the Holy Spirit
- 2:40Speaker 2: placed upon my heart as a contribution to all the discussions.
- 2:45Speaker 2: I understand that we have been under the influence of
- 2:48Speaker 2: various speakers with vast experiences across leadership and ministry. And
- 2:55Speaker 2: so this is an addition to the things that we
- 2:59Speaker 2: have learned from this morning and I'm praying that what
- 3:03Speaker 2: we'll be hearing will truly add value to our spiritual.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Understanding in the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus.
- 3:13Speaker 2: So I'll be talking across three areas very, very quickly
- 3:19Speaker 2: and then hopefully we'll get to pray. And I consider
- 3:22Speaker 2: this a very great opportunity because I have learned from
- 3:26Speaker 2: scripture and by experience that The quality of believers across
- 3:32Speaker 2: any territory is a reflection of the kind and the
- 3:37Speaker 2: quality of priesthood within that territory also.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Are we together?
- 3:42Speaker 2: That means when you sample believers in no particular order
- 3:46Speaker 2: in Lagos, it should be able to give you an
- 3:49Speaker 2: accurate feedback as to the quality of men and women
- 3:54Speaker 2: of God that we have serving his purposes here. And
- 3:57Speaker 2: so everyone here represents at least 10, 20, 30, 40 people,
- 4:02Speaker 2: a network of churches. So in speaking to one leader,
- 4:05Speaker 2: you are literally speaking to thousands of people. And it's
- 4:08Speaker 2: a very noble honor.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Hallelujah.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Two scriptures, Acts chapter 4, I mean Colossians chapter 4
- 4:18Speaker 2: and verse 17. Colossians 4 and verse 17, let me
- 4:22Speaker 2: quote it quickly for sake of time. It says, say
- 4:25Speaker 2: unto Archippus, that you take heed to the ministry that
- 4:29Speaker 2: thou has obtained or received in.
- 4:32Speaker 1: The Lord, that thou fulfill it.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Paul was speaking to his son in the gospel and
- 4:38Speaker 2: he says to say unto Archippus that you take heed.
- 4:43Speaker 2: The word take heed there means be attentive, be discerning,
- 4:46Speaker 2: be careful, be intentional over the ministry that thou has
- 4:51Speaker 2: received in the Lord. Notice he never said the ministry
- 4:55Speaker 2: you receive from the Lord. To receive from the Lord
- 4:59Speaker 2: means you don't need a relationship. To receive in the
- 5:02Speaker 2: Lord means it is a byproduct of an encounter.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Are we together?
- 5:07Speaker 2: The ministry you have received in the Lord. Ministry is
- 5:11Speaker 2: not just received from the Lord. It is received in
- 5:15Speaker 2: the Lord. A derivative of your knowing God. You're loving Him.
- 5:19Speaker 2: You're pressing into the things of God. Let's consider one
- 5:23Speaker 2: more scripture. Acts chapter 20 and verse 19. profound scripture
- 5:29Speaker 2: this is a call and a charge to shepherds those
- 5:32Speaker 2: who love jesus acts 20 28 may i request that
- 5:37Speaker 2: we read it in concert together ready one to read
- 5:40Speaker 2: take heed therefore unto yourselves uh-huh and to all the
- 5:45Speaker 2: flock which the holy ghost has made you overseers to
- 5:51Speaker 2: feed the church of god.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I'd like us to read it one more time. One, two, go.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Take heed therefore unto yourselves and to all the flock
- 6:03Speaker 2: over which the Holy Ghost had made you overseers to
- 6:08Speaker 2: feed the church of God which he had purchased.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Hallelujah. Dr.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Gweli made a statement that I heard and it was
- 6:19Speaker 2: very profound and I think I would like.
- 6:21Speaker 1: To start from there.
- 6:23Speaker 2: It matters... that we understand God's program. This is the
- 6:28Speaker 2: first thing that I need to talk about. And with
- 6:30Speaker 2: all due respect, I think one of the major issues
- 6:35Speaker 2: that has affected the efficiency of priesthood within this nation,
- 6:40Speaker 2: across the African continent, is that for most people, there
- 6:44Speaker 2: is no clarity and definition as to God's program. So
- 6:49Speaker 2: if you ask a pastor... what are you doing exactly?
- 6:52Speaker 2: You can say, God said, go and raise me a people.
- 6:55Speaker 2: And while that may be true, it is not concise
- 6:59Speaker 2: enough to produce efficiency. The average pastor is at a
- 7:03Speaker 2: loss as to God's program. Most men and women of God,
- 7:07Speaker 2: with all due respect, cannot give you an intelligent presentation
- 7:12Speaker 2: of Of God's program.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Which is the basis for ministry. Are we together?
- 7:17Speaker 2: And once that centrality of God's program does not govern
- 7:22Speaker 2: your church activity. Does not govern your sermons. Does not
- 7:27Speaker 2: govern your conferences. It is natural to veer off into
- 7:31Speaker 2: error and even compromise.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Are we together now?
- 7:35Speaker 2: It matters that every preacher, every man of God, every intercessor,
- 7:40Speaker 2: every general overseer, every superintendent, you must be able to
- 7:45Speaker 2: know this for yourself and then raise leaders after this understanding.
- 7:50Speaker 2: What exactly is God's program? What is God about across
- 7:55Speaker 2: the nations?
- 7:56Speaker 1: Are we together now?
- 7:58Speaker 2: And I want to say this, and I say this
- 8:00Speaker 2: with a burden in my heart, but with every sense
- 8:03Speaker 2: of respect. there are certain things that are not left
- 8:08Speaker 2: to personal revelation. One of it is God's program. God's
- 8:12Speaker 2: program is not just revealed to an individual as a secret.
- 8:16Speaker 2: It is a template that is available to everyone who.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Desires to serve him. Are we together now?
- 8:22Speaker 2: Yes. Because I think one of the challenges, I will
- 8:26Speaker 2: wrap up by identifying a few challenges with the Nigerian
- 8:29Speaker 2: church and hopefully preferring a few solutions.
- 8:32Speaker 1: And one of it is, is.
- 8:34Speaker 2: The abuse of God said. The abuse of I had
- 8:40Speaker 2: the Holy Spirit. The abuse of it has brought a
- 8:43Speaker 2: lot of chaos, disorderliness. Just because it's a spiritual affair
- 8:48Speaker 2: does not mean it cannot be vetted.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Are we together now? Yeah, so I can come up with.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Anything and because spirituality or the faith work is a
- 8:59Speaker 2: relationship between me and God, I can say this is
- 9:03Speaker 2: what God told me. But then there are standards according
- 9:07Speaker 2: to scripture to judge spirits and to test all spirits.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Are we learning already? So let me not go ahead
- 9:14Speaker 1: of myself.
- 9:15Speaker 2: According to scripture and theologically we have come to know
- 9:20Speaker 2: God's agenda to be.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Called the Great Commission.
- 9:23Speaker 2: And while that is very simple enough, most people do
- 9:26Speaker 2: not have a very concise picture of as to what
- 9:30Speaker 2: the Great Commission is all about. If you probe into
- 9:33Speaker 2: the understanding of the average pastor, you will find people
- 9:36Speaker 2: who tell you the Great Commission is about evangelism. You
- 9:39Speaker 2: are right, but it is incomplete. Others talk about transformation.
- 9:44Speaker 2: You are right, but you are incomplete. The Great Commission,
- 9:47Speaker 2: as we know, is holistically revealed across three scriptures. There
- 9:54Speaker 2: are three scriptures all together, That really form the basis
- 9:58Speaker 2: for the great cause. I'll just run through them and
- 10:02Speaker 2: then I'll list it out for sake of time. Number
- 10:04Speaker 2: one is found in Mark chapter 16, please. Mark chapter
- 10:07Speaker 2: 16 from verse 15 down to 20.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Jesus himself is speaking. This is the first piece of.
- 10:15Speaker 2: What we know as the Great Commission that represents God's agenda.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Everyone in ministry should be about this.
- 10:23Speaker 1: This is the construction.
- 10:25Speaker 2: This is literally the vision of all that we do.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Being casted from scripture. And he said unto them, go
- 10:33Speaker 2: ye into all the world and preach. Preach the gospel
- 10:38Speaker 2: to every creature. Verse 16, it says.
- 10:42Speaker 1: He.
- 10:42Speaker 2: That believeth and is baptized shall be saved, and he
- 10:45Speaker 2: that does not believe shall be damned. So the first
- 10:48Speaker 2: part of the Great Commission has to do with the
- 10:51Speaker 2: preaching of the gospel. The second part of the Great
- 10:54Speaker 2: Commission is found in Matthew chapter 28 from verse 18.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Matthew chapter 28 from verse 18.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Same Jesus speaking. This is Matthew's synoptic account.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, all authority is
- 11:13Speaker 2: given unto me in heaven and in the earth. And
- 11:16Speaker 2: he says, go ye therefore, verse 19 now, go ye
- 11:22Speaker 2: therefore and teach. Now we see that he's going beyond
- 11:27Speaker 2: preaching and teach all nations.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Mark's account says, preach the gospel to every creature.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Now Matthew is saying, Teach all nations, baptizing them in
- 11:42Speaker 2: the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
- 11:45Speaker 2: I don't want to go into the theological debate of this.
- 11:48Speaker 2: That's not my assignment now. Are we together now?
- 11:51Speaker 1: Verse 20.
- 11:52Speaker 2: It says, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I
- 11:58Speaker 2: have commanded you. And while you are about this business,
- 12:01Speaker 2: know that I am.
- 12:02Speaker 1: With you all the way on to the end of
- 12:05Speaker 1: the world. Please say amen.
- 12:07Speaker 2: So the first aspect of the Great Commission representing God's
- 12:10Speaker 2: agenda has to do with the preaching of the gospel
- 12:14Speaker 2: and then the teaching, discipleship. The last aspect is found
- 12:20Speaker 2: in Acts chapter 1 from verse 6. Acts chapter 1
- 12:25Speaker 2: verse 6. Jesus is having his final sessions with the
- 12:28Speaker 2: disciples so that they would receive the Holy Ghost. And
- 12:32Speaker 2: they came to him and said, Lord, will thou at
- 12:35Speaker 2: this time restore the kingdom of Israel? The next verse,
- 12:38Speaker 2: Jesus replies and says, it is not for you to
- 12:41Speaker 2: know the times and the seasons which the Father has
- 12:44Speaker 2: put in his own power. Verse 8 now says, but
- 12:47Speaker 2: you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is
- 12:52Speaker 2: come upon you and that empowerment will cause.
- 12:55Speaker 1: You to be witnesses.
- 12:58Speaker 2: And he defines the geography of the witness.
- 13:01Speaker 1: First Jerusalem, then Judea, then Samaria.
- 13:05Speaker 2: The entire goal is the outermost part of the earth.
- 13:10Speaker 2: When you combine Mark 16, Matthew 28, and Acts chapter 1,
- 13:17Speaker 2: it gives you the whole picture of what we call
- 13:20Speaker 2: the Great Commission.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Now, the challenge, I came from an evangelical background.
- 13:25Speaker 2: And so I understand a bit of the limitations as
- 13:28Speaker 2: we have been mentored into understanding the Great Commission. Because
- 13:32Speaker 2: on the one hand, we have people who the entire
- 13:36Speaker 2: scope of understanding God's agenda is evangelism. And that is important.
- 13:41Speaker 2: But like you will be learning, and I think Dr.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Ogwele talked a bit about that. By the time you
- 13:46Speaker 2: bring in the harvest and leave the harvest that way,
- 13:49Speaker 2: there are consequences.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Even though you gathered the harvest. Are we together now? Yes.
- 13:56Speaker 2: And then he talks about teaching and then he talks
- 14:00Speaker 2: about being witnesses. What is the Great Commission? I wrote
- 14:07Speaker 2: here that the Great Commission is a mandate given by
- 14:11Speaker 2: Jesus to then his disciples but today to all believers.
- 14:16Speaker 2: A mandate given by Jesus Christ it was then to
- 14:20Speaker 2: his disciples but now to all believers.
- 14:24Speaker 1: To reach the entire globe. Please listen.
- 14:27Speaker 2: To reach the entire globe. With the gospel of salvation.
- 14:34Speaker 2: To bring nations. To the knowledge of the truth. Through discipleship.
- 14:39Speaker 2: And to consequently bring territorial. And societal transformation. I will
- 14:45Speaker 2: take that again. That the great commission. As given by Jesus.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Is a mandate.
- 14:55Speaker 2: To reach the entire globe with the gospel of salvation.
- 15:02Speaker 2: To bring nations to the knowledge of the truth through discipleship.
- 15:08Speaker 2: And to consequently bring territorial and societal transformation. Immediately you
- 15:14Speaker 2: see that there are three aspects to the Great Commission.
- 15:19Speaker 2: And every time you deviate from any one of these,
- 15:23Speaker 2: you will corrupt the programs. Number one, the first aspect
- 15:28Speaker 2: of the Great Commission is world evangelization. World evangelization. World evangelization.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Reaching the lost.
- 15:37Speaker 1: The Bible says that God desires that all men be saved.
- 15:41Speaker 1: All men be saved. All men be saved. All men
- 15:46Speaker 1: be saved. World evangelization. World evangelization.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Statistically, there are about 8.1 billion people upon the earth. 8.1
- 15:57Speaker 2: billion people. I hope my statistics is still right. 8.1
- 16:01Speaker 2: billion people. And there's just a little over 2.6 billion
- 16:06Speaker 2: professing Christians. Statistically confirmed across the earth. Now we have
- 16:13Speaker 2: a mandate to reach the entire globe. Ladies and gentlemen,
- 16:17Speaker 2: it should challenge us that in spite of the churches,
- 16:20Speaker 2: the crusades, the conventions, the programs, the advantage of internet,
- 16:25Speaker 2: intellectual privileges that we have, we have not been able
- 16:29Speaker 2: to cover even 30%. Or 40% of it. And yet
- 16:36Speaker 2: we believe that we're in the end times. We believe
- 16:38Speaker 2: that we're wrapping up the church age.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Are we together?
- 16:42Speaker 2: That means that we have not been doing a very
- 16:44Speaker 2: effective job.
- 16:45Speaker 1: From a statistical standpoint.
- 16:48Speaker 2: That if we have about 2.6 billion professing Christians. This
- 16:53Speaker 2: includes everything from backsliders to those who just identify with
- 16:58Speaker 2: the faith.
- 16:58Speaker 1: We're not talking of those who are genuinely saved.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Those who have filled a form and wrote there that
- 17:05Speaker 2: I am a Christian.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Even if they are idol worshippers. Are we together?
- 17:11Speaker 2: Now, but look at this. Let me challenge you for
- 17:13Speaker 2: a moment. How many of you know that our social
- 17:17Speaker 2: media applications, I'm not sure that most of the applications
- 17:22Speaker 2: that we depend helplessly on are even more than 20
- 17:25Speaker 2: to 25 years. Yet, somebody brought an idea that broke
- 17:30Speaker 2: the barrier of boundary. Somebody brought an idea that broke
- 17:34Speaker 2: the barrier of religion. Somebody brought an idea that broke
- 17:39Speaker 2: the barrier of education.
- 17:41Speaker 1: And it's been received by more people upon the earth.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Within 20 years, someone sat in his room and formulated
- 17:48Speaker 2: an idea that has made the old.
- 17:51Speaker 1: And young, male and female, Christians and.
- 17:53Speaker 2: non-Christians helplessly glued to those applications. It means there is
- 17:57Speaker 2: a formula for a more effective world evangelization.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Are we together now?
- 18:03Speaker 2: If within 20 years, young people barely in their 20s
- 18:10Speaker 2: came up with an idea, an idea without the active
- 18:15Speaker 2: acknowledgement of the contribution of.
- 18:17Speaker 1: The Holy Spirit. Are we together? Are we together?
- 18:24Speaker 2: They never came up to say, I open to you
- 18:27Speaker 2: that the Holy Spirit, they never attended an impartation service.
- 18:31Speaker 2: They never received a prophetic word. And yet they came
- 18:35Speaker 2: up with an idea that all of us prophets and apostles,
- 18:38Speaker 2: with all the anointing, with all due respect, we are
- 18:41Speaker 2: helplessly dependent on those applications. It means there is something
- 18:45Speaker 2: God can place upon our lives. That will cause the
- 18:48Speaker 2: advancement of the gospel. To break barriers. The level of inefficiency.
- 18:54Speaker 2: That we are experiencing in our evangelism.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Should be a concern for anyone who loves Jesus. Are
- 19:02Speaker 1: we together? Yes sir. Number two. The second aspect of
- 19:09Speaker 1: the great commission. Is discipleship.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Transforming believers. Through discipleship. transforming believers to discipleship. It matters
- 19:23Speaker 2: what we do with the harvest. Jesus called us fishers
- 19:27Speaker 2: of men. And once you fish, you don't drop the
- 19:31Speaker 2: fish there like that.
- 19:31Speaker 1: You have to work on it. Discipleship. I can tell
- 19:35Speaker 1: you this and I.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Submit to you that the missing ingredient in the kind
- 19:40Speaker 2: and the quality of believers that have come out from
- 19:43Speaker 2: this nation and Africa is largely a product of the
- 19:49Speaker 2: poor unknown. level of discipleship whatsoever. The average believer is
- 19:56Speaker 2: not methodically mentored into understanding God and understanding the ways
- 20:02Speaker 2: of God. Acts chapter 20 and verse 32 says, And now, brethren,
- 20:06Speaker 2: I commend you to God and to the word of
- 20:09Speaker 2: his grace, which is able to build you up, number one,
- 20:13Speaker 2: and then to give you an inheritance among them that
- 20:16Speaker 2: are sanctified. It says, and that from a child. Thou
- 20:19Speaker 2: hast known the Holy Scripture which is able to make
- 20:23Speaker 2: you wise unto salvation. The Bible says an heir for
- 20:26Speaker 2: as long as that is a child that he differeth
- 20:29Speaker 2: not from a slave even though he be Lord of all.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Are we learning now?
- 20:36Speaker 2: Paul said when I came to you I couldn't speak
- 20:39Speaker 2: of these things because you are still yet as babes
- 20:42Speaker 2: and not spiritual. The average believer cannot defend his spiritual understanding.
- 20:49Speaker 2: We know a little of everything, a little of prayer here,
- 20:52Speaker 2: a little of fasting here, a little of breakthrough, a
- 20:55Speaker 2: little of finances. Our growth module is so scattered, it
- 20:59Speaker 2: does not produce a people of stature. Nobody attends lecture
- 21:04Speaker 2: in any class in the university and receives a degree.
- 21:07Speaker 2: The program is constructive. That's why you can predict that
- 21:12Speaker 2: this naive student in six years can be a medical
- 21:15Speaker 2: doctor because of the quality of the content.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Beyond even the lecturer's ability.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Are we together? We must obtain grace from God. I'm
- 21:28Speaker 2: challenging us in righteousness and with all humility. Let's stop
- 21:31Speaker 2: maintaining members. Let's raise witnesses. The consciousness of maintenance of membership.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Ten years in church and they cannot defend their spiritual understandings.
- 21:49Speaker 2: But let me bring the test to us with all
- 21:51Speaker 2: due respect. Dear man of God, dear woman of God,
- 21:54Speaker 2: dear co-laborer in the gospel. Let me ask you a question.
- 21:57Speaker 2: What do you know about prayer? What do you know
- 22:00Speaker 2: about Satan? What do you know about Jesus? What do
- 22:04Speaker 2: you know about salvation? What do you know about increase?
- 22:08Speaker 2: What do you know about leadership? What do you know
- 22:11Speaker 2: about the anointing? What do you know about the Holy Spirit?
- 22:14Speaker 2: What do you know about warfare? What do you know
- 22:17Speaker 2: about growth? What do you know about restoration? What do
- 22:20Speaker 2: you know about administration? What do you know about conflict management?
- 22:25Speaker 2: These are the bodies of spiritual understanding that makes an
- 22:29Speaker 2: individual a leader indeed. You cannot help the people at
- 22:32Speaker 2: the same level of understanding with them. Are we together now?
- 22:39Speaker 2: Jesus called the people blind, leading the blind. He was
- 22:43Speaker 2: not insulting them. He was describing their spiritual states. Pick
- 22:51Speaker 2: an average member, five of them. Put them on stage
- 22:55Speaker 2: and ask them questions. Talk to me about the gospel.
- 22:59Speaker 2: You will be surprised. The person is the head of
- 23:01Speaker 2: ushering and he does not know what the gospel is.
- 23:04Speaker 2: I just know that Jesus died. Okay, how do you
- 23:07Speaker 2: lead an unbeliever to become a child of God? Well,
- 23:10Speaker 2: you confess the prayer. What does he say? Because it
- 23:13Speaker 2: is not every information about Jesus that saves.
- 23:17Speaker 1: There is an exact.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Body of information about Jesus that.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Translates to salvation.
- 23:23Speaker 2: He said, let it be known to you, O Israel,
- 23:25Speaker 2: that this same Jesus you have crucified has today been
- 23:28Speaker 2: exalted as Lord and Christ.
- 23:31Speaker 1: And 3,000 people came. Are we learning?
- 23:35Speaker 2: We need to go back and probe the basis for
- 23:38Speaker 2: our discipleship.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Because the truth is, I hate to.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Say this, but many ministers are genuinely called, but they
- 23:45Speaker 2: are ill prepared.
- 23:47Speaker 1: It shows in the kinds of sermons that we bring.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Show us in the centrality We bring a lot of
- 23:53Speaker 2: sermons That are clearly not doctrinal They are largely opinions
- 23:58Speaker 2: Or just copying from one person to the other Or a.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Transfer from poor mentorship Are we together?
- 24:12Speaker 2: What do you know about prayer? What do you know
- 24:15Speaker 2: about fasting? What do you know about oils? What do
- 24:23Speaker 2: you know about mantles? What do you know about Satan
- 24:27Speaker 2: and demons? With all due respect. And I say this
- 24:30Speaker 2: with every humility. Sense of humility. If I call any
- 24:33Speaker 2: man of God here in no particular order. And give
- 24:36Speaker 2: you the mic. I say take five minutes out of
- 24:38Speaker 2: my time.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Teach us. How do we take over territories? We all
- 24:44Speaker 1: want growth. But what is the formula?
- 24:46Speaker 2: Because Jesus said the church is built. There must be
- 24:50Speaker 2: a formula. No architect begins to build without a formula.
- 24:53Speaker 2: What is the master plan? We are called master builders.
- 24:57Speaker 2: And God wants us to be wise master builders.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Another question.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Can you tell me the kind of believer you are
- 25:07Speaker 2: producing from your teaching every day?
- 25:10Speaker 1: If you don't have the picture, something is wrong.
- 25:13Speaker 2: A lecturer already has a picture of the kind of
- 25:16Speaker 2: student he's producing.
- 25:18Speaker 1: From the first day of the.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Lecture, he can assure the people that in five years,
- 25:24Speaker 2: an architect is coming out of this lecture. Can you
- 25:27Speaker 2: define the kind of believer that our Sunday sermons, our conferences,
- 25:32Speaker 2: what kind of believer is in the mind of your spirit?
- 25:37Speaker 1: Discipleship.
- 25:41Speaker 2: The key to effective discipleship is to understand doctrine. The
- 25:46Speaker 2: word doctrine comes from the Latin word doctrina. It means
- 25:50Speaker 2: a body of truth that turns a disciple to become.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Like his master. Doctrine. Doctrines are not opinions.
- 26:01Speaker 2: The Bible says in Acts chapter 2 and verse 42,
- 26:04Speaker 2: it says, and they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine
- 26:09Speaker 2: and in fellowship and in the breaking of bread and
- 26:13Speaker 2: in prayer. That was the apostolic model that was given
- 26:16Speaker 2: to them. Is God helping us? Every man of God
- 26:23Speaker 2: who loves Jesus and loves his program must go back.
- 26:27Speaker 2: And I'm saying this, I'm just speaking apostolically to the
- 26:31Speaker 2: body of Christ. We need to re-examine our spiritual understanding
- 26:36Speaker 2: because that is where our sermons come from. There are
- 26:40Speaker 2: sermons that don't profit the spiritual lives of the people
- 26:43Speaker 2: nor build them to become effective witnesses. So here is
- 26:47Speaker 2: the progression. Everybody starts as an unbeliever. In iniquity did
- 26:53Speaker 2: my mother conceive me.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Everybody. Nobody inherits salvation from the womb. Are we together? So,
- 27:00Speaker 1: the journey is that you start as an unbeliever. Please
- 27:03Speaker 1: watch this.
- 27:04Speaker 2: And then by acknowledging the substitutionary sacrifice of Christ, translating
- 27:09Speaker 2: to eternal life, you get to the next level. You
- 27:12Speaker 2: are a believer. And when you become a believer, there
- 27:15Speaker 2: are three stages. There is a babe. One who is
- 27:19Speaker 2: just saved, an infant, but void of spiritual understanding. The
- 27:25Speaker 2: moment you get transformed, God introduces you to three ministries
- 27:30Speaker 2: to continue the journey to your maturity. Number one is
- 27:33Speaker 2: the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Number two is the
- 27:37Speaker 2: ministry of the Word. Number three is the ministry of
- 27:40Speaker 2: the teaching priest. Anybody who lacks an encounter with these
- 27:44Speaker 2: three ministries will have a deformity in his spiritual growth.
- 27:49Speaker 1: That is the order.
- 27:50Speaker 2: That means the moment an individual gets saved, It's important
- 27:54Speaker 2: he understands that there are three ministries about to be
- 27:58Speaker 2: introduced to his life. And he must embrace all of them.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Number one, I repeat, the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Number two, the ministry of the word, the logos of God.
- 28:09Speaker 2: A compendium of the thoughts of God. And then number three,
- 28:13Speaker 2: the ministry of a teaching priest. Jeremiah 3.15 And I
- 28:17Speaker 2: will give you pastors or shepherds according.
- 28:20Speaker 1: To my heart.
- 28:21Speaker 2: And they will feed you with knowledge. They will feed
- 28:24Speaker 2: you with understanding. Hallelujah. When this gentleman, whoever he is now,
- 28:32Speaker 2: as a babe, encounters these threefold ministries, they begin to
- 28:36Speaker 2: journey him through the process of transformation. What is transformation?
- 28:41Speaker 2: The name given to the process that makes you become
- 28:44Speaker 2: like Christ in experience. It says, my little children of
- 28:47Speaker 2: whom I travail until now.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Until Christ be formed in you.
- 28:55Speaker 2: When the believer becomes transformed, That is the second layer
- 28:59Speaker 2: of the believer. The third layer is empowerment. A believer
- 29:04Speaker 2: can be transformed and yet not empowered. Jesus himself mentored
- 29:09Speaker 2: his disciples for three and a half years. They were transformed,
- 29:12Speaker 2: but they were not empowered. So he said, carry in Jerusalem.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Your issue is not an information deficiency. You do not
- 29:20Speaker 2: have power to defend the things that you know. It
- 29:24Speaker 2: is dangerous to only be transformed and not be empowered.
- 29:28Speaker 2: You will say many things that are correct, but not
- 29:30Speaker 2: be able to defend them.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Many things.
- 29:34Speaker 2: For instance, you will be knowledgeable enough to know that
- 29:37Speaker 2: God heals, but you will never see healing.
- 29:39Speaker 1: You will be knowledgeable to.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Know that God empowers that God lifts but there is
- 29:44Speaker 2: no performance knowledge that brings transformation and then brings empowerment
- 29:58Speaker 2: now please hear me The moment you encounter transformation and empowerment,
- 30:04Speaker 2: you stop just being a believer.
- 30:06Speaker 1: You become a witness. A witness is a believer.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Who has gone through the school of transformation and gone through.
- 30:15Speaker 1: The school of empowerment.
- 30:17Speaker 2: A witness is not somebody who starts ministry. You can
- 30:20Speaker 2: start ministry and in the spirit you are not yet
- 30:22Speaker 2: a witness. The trigger for being a witness is that
- 30:25Speaker 2: you would have submitted yourself to transformation and submitted yourself
- 30:30Speaker 2: to empowerment.
- 30:31Speaker 1: This is the model that Jesus showed us.
- 30:34Speaker 2: At age 12, he was at the temple learning the law,
- 30:37Speaker 2: even though he was the ward himself. But that did
- 30:40Speaker 2: not release him to start ministry. The Bible tells us
- 30:43Speaker 2: that he met John and he told John, John said,
- 30:46Speaker 2: I'm not even worthy to untie the latchet of your shoe.
- 30:49Speaker 2: He said, suffer it to be so. It's an ordinance
- 30:52Speaker 2: that scripture be fulfilled. And when he baptized John, the
- 30:56Speaker 2: heavens opened and the Bible says, the Holy Ghost descended
- 30:59Speaker 2: upon him in the similitude of a dove. And there
- 31:01Speaker 2: was a voice that said, this is my beloved son.
- 31:04Speaker 2: The question is, what was he before?
- 31:10Speaker 1: Amen.
- 31:12Speaker 2: So, the challenge most times in Nigeria is that most
- 31:17Speaker 2: people are called But they are not yet sent and
- 31:21Speaker 2: they go.
- 31:23Speaker 1: There is a.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Difference between being called and sent. You are not called
- 31:28Speaker 2: to do ministry. You are called to Jesus. Then you
- 31:32Speaker 2: are sent to the nations. You are called to Jesus.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Your calling is not to a church. Your calling is
- 31:39Speaker 2: to Jesus. The Bible says he selected the disciples to
- 31:42Speaker 2: be with him. And then that he will send them.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Something happens when you are with Jesus. It is from
- 31:48Speaker 2: the residue of that encounter your sermons come out. It
- 31:51Speaker 2: is from the residue of that encounter your impact comes out.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Just because you are genuinely called does not mean you
- 31:58Speaker 2: have been sent. Jesus called the disciples from day one
- 32:02Speaker 2: of his ministry, but he only sent them when he resurrected.
- 32:06Speaker 2: The trigger was the coming of the Holy Spirit. So
- 32:11Speaker 2: we have a lot of zealous people who start ministry
- 32:14Speaker 2: with joy and passion. Genuinely called. After one month, they've
- 32:18Speaker 2: exhausted everything they know to say.
- 32:21Speaker 1: And it is dangerous.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Because when you are exhausted, do you know, Saturday nights
- 32:26Speaker 2: are the most frustrating nights for most pastors. Because they
- 32:30Speaker 2: have to think, what in the world am I going
- 32:32Speaker 2: to share? If it's righteousness, I've preached on it. Holiness,
- 32:35Speaker 2: I've preached on it. Breakthrough, I've preached on it. Giving,
- 32:38Speaker 2: I've preached on it. Deliverance, what else do I say?
- 32:42Speaker 2: If you get into that state, it is proof that
- 32:45Speaker 2: something has dried in your spirit.
- 32:49Speaker 1: I'm being very honest with you.
- 32:51Speaker 2: If you ever get to that state as a man
- 32:52Speaker 2: of God, go for a retreat fast. It says, that
- 32:56Speaker 2: will show us a path of light. It is in
- 32:58Speaker 2: your life. That we see light. That you are so
- 33:03Speaker 2: full of light. The days are not even enough. Because
- 33:05Speaker 2: there is so much. Are we together now? The last
- 33:09Speaker 2: thing I will say about discipleship. And then I will
- 33:11Speaker 2: pass that quickly. We are still talking on the great commission.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Do you know. When it has to do with knowing
- 33:17Speaker 2: the Lord. There is no end to your knowledge. You
- 33:20Speaker 2: will keep learning him even in heaven. But when it
- 33:23Speaker 2: has to do with building victorious people, the body of
- 33:27Speaker 2: truth that turns an ordinary believer to a witness is finite.
- 33:32Speaker 1: It's not infinite.
- 33:34Speaker 2: The body of knowledge that actually makes the maturity of
- 33:37Speaker 2: a believer is finite. Like a curriculum that turns a
- 33:41Speaker 2: student to a graduate, you can exhaust it. The student's
- 33:45Speaker 2: learning continues. But as far as that course of study
- 33:50Speaker 2: is concerned, you can exhaust it. Something plus something plus
- 33:54Speaker 2: something plus something equals a matured Christian. Building believers to
- 34:01Speaker 2: maturity is not an infinite pursuit of knowledge. And you
- 34:05Speaker 2: are wondering, there is an exact body of knowledge. The
- 34:08Speaker 2: Bible calls it marvelous light. The name given to the
- 34:13Speaker 2: body that makes torture out of ordinary believers. It is
- 34:17Speaker 2: my considered opinion, and I hope you don't find offense
- 34:21Speaker 2: in it, that if any member is faithful in any
- 34:24Speaker 2: church for two years, under structured mentorship, and that person
- 34:29Speaker 2: cannot attain onto a.
- 34:31Speaker 1: State of maturity, it's either the.
- 34:33Speaker 2: Man of God is wasting his time, or the individual
- 34:35Speaker 2: is not serious.
- 34:36Speaker 1: With his growth. Are we together now? Praise the name
- 34:42Speaker 1: of the Lord.
- 34:45Speaker 2: It doesn't take forever for the Habbalists in our villages
- 34:49Speaker 2: to train another person.
- 34:50Speaker 1: They bring a naive person.
- 34:52Speaker 2: The body of knowledge is exact. They will tell you
- 34:56Speaker 2: this young boy will be a Habbalist in three years.
- 34:59Speaker 2: And you will watch the boy going every day and
- 35:02Speaker 2: watching and watching. And after three years, they will now
- 35:06Speaker 2: crown him the one who brings mayhem. But how come
- 35:10Speaker 2: with all due respect, we have people who have been
- 35:12Speaker 2: saved before.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Some children were born.
- 35:17Speaker 2: And those children today are pastors and the people are
- 35:20Speaker 2: not transformed. Nothing about their communication shows maturity. We need
- 35:27Speaker 2: to go back to our pulpits and examine the content.
- 35:31Speaker 2: The content is what produces victory or defeat.
- 35:35Speaker 1: It matters what the people hear.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Thankfully, as a continent and as a nation, we have
- 35:40Speaker 2: people who are loyal and passionate to hear. They are
- 35:44Speaker 2: so passionate, they don't care what they hear. They trust
- 35:47Speaker 2: you enough to hear. And if what you are communicating
- 35:50Speaker 2: is error, they are still grateful. One thing the Bible
- 35:56Speaker 2: tells us about being a teacher is that you will
- 35:58Speaker 2: be judged.
- 35:59Speaker 1: For having access to the ears and the minds of
- 36:02Speaker 1: people is God speaking to us.
- 36:04Speaker 2: So the Great Commission has number one, world evangelization. Number two, discipleship.
- 36:10Speaker 2: World evangelization is God's program for the world of sinners.
- 36:16Speaker 2: God has a program for the world of sinners. It
- 36:19Speaker 2: is called world evangelization. God has a program for the saints.
- 36:24Speaker 2: It is called discipleship. Attaining maturity through discipleship. And then
- 36:29Speaker 2: the third aspect I will give you quickly is called
- 36:32Speaker 2: territorial transformation. Matthew chapter 5 from verse.
- 36:39Speaker 1: 13 to 16.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Jesus is teaching now and he begins by saying you
- 36:42Speaker 2: are the salt of the earth. He says, but if
- 36:45Speaker 2: the salt has lost its saltiness or its sever, he says,
- 36:48Speaker 2: where shall it be salted? It is good for nothing
- 36:51Speaker 2: except to be thrown down and trampled at foot of men.
- 36:54Speaker 2: Then he says in verse 14, you are the light
- 36:58Speaker 2: of the world. He calls us a city that is
- 37:01Speaker 2: set on a hill.
- 37:02Speaker 1: Which cannot be hidden.
- 37:03Speaker 2: He says, neither do men light a candle and put
- 37:06Speaker 2: it under a bushel. But they put it on a
- 37:09Speaker 2: candlestick and it gives light to everyone in the room.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Verse 16 now says, let your light. The word let
- 37:17Speaker 2: means permit. Do not restrain it. Let your light so
- 37:21Speaker 2: shine before men that they may see.
- 37:25Speaker 1: God wants men to see.
- 37:27Speaker 2: That they may see your good deeds and glorify your father.
- 37:32Speaker 2: That means the way God gets glory is when the
- 37:35Speaker 2: sons manifest good works. John chapter 15 and verse 8.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Herein is our father glorified.
- 37:42Speaker 2: When you bear much fruit, so shall you be my disciples.
- 37:46Speaker 1: John 15, 16.
- 37:47Speaker 2: You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you
- 37:50Speaker 2: and ordained you that you should go and bear much fruit.
- 37:55Speaker 1: And that your fruit should remain. Territorial transformation.
- 38:00Speaker 2: I was very touched as we heard the chairman bring
- 38:03Speaker 2: in a lot of societal projects.
- 38:05Speaker 1: Can I tell you? Results are evangelists. Results. There are
- 38:12Speaker 1: sermons only results can preach.
- 38:16Speaker 2: And there is an audience that was designed to hear
- 38:19Speaker 2: that sermon. If all we keep doing in church is
- 38:23Speaker 2: falling under the anointing and rolling, let me assure you, society,
- 38:27Speaker 2: we need to bring data-driven statistics that shows that the
- 38:32Speaker 2: church is relevant. And the way you do that is
- 38:34Speaker 2: by becoming light and salt. I don't mean to insult you,
- 38:43Speaker 2: but there are many beer parlors near the churches and
- 38:46Speaker 2: they join in the praise and worship. While the praise
- 38:48Speaker 2: and worship is going on, they are rejoicing and saying, ah,
- 38:50Speaker 2: this drummer, it looks like they've changed a new drummer.
- 38:53Speaker 2: No transformation within the territory. No transformation whatsoever.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Are we together?
- 39:03Speaker 2: Ambrose lean on the back of the church while sermons
- 39:07Speaker 2: are going, waiting for service to be over so they
- 39:10Speaker 2: will steal.
- 39:11Speaker 1: No transformation. I don't want to become.
- 39:15Speaker 2: A part of any movement that does not speak to
- 39:17Speaker 2: the development of society.
- 39:19Speaker 1: We must be very apostolic in our approach.
- 39:23Speaker 2: We must sell God in a way that society will
- 39:25Speaker 2: be ready to embrace him. It is the reason why
- 39:28Speaker 2: Christianity in many developed nations is being considered as a
- 39:32Speaker 2: nuisance because they do not have data driven proof of
- 39:36Speaker 2: relevance of church in nation building it's good to sing
- 39:41Speaker 2: it's good to shout it's good to fall and stand
- 39:44Speaker 2: but receive the wisdom that came in the place of
- 39:46Speaker 2: prayer and use it to develop the society.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Charitable organizations. Do you know, I.
- 39:54Speaker 2: Always ask why Jesus fed 5,000. Now I know. The
- 39:58Speaker 2: feeding of the 5,000 was number one to prove that
- 40:02Speaker 2: he loved them. But number two, as a message to
- 40:04Speaker 2: the Roman government, we are not irrelevant. And we are
- 40:08Speaker 2: not a nuisance. Because by the time you calm 5,000
- 40:14Speaker 2: people for three days, And you don't feed them. You
- 40:18Speaker 2: have given the government a right. To say you want
- 40:20Speaker 2: to kill these people. You are a cult. And they
- 40:22Speaker 2: are right. So Jesus said, don't let them go this way.
- 40:27Speaker 2: There's already enmity against this program.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Feed them.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Let them know that there is an aspect of God's
- 40:33Speaker 2: love that speaks to nation building. Do you know women
- 40:37Speaker 2: can sing a lot of praises? I'm sure a lot
- 40:39Speaker 2: of women sang from the mountain. Where is Caesar? Where
- 40:42Speaker 2: is Herod? Come and see what Jesus is doing. You
- 40:45Speaker 2: guys have been scribes and Pharisees for years. You never
- 40:48Speaker 2: fed us. Can I tell you the truth? Unbelievers can
- 40:55Speaker 2: also be used to evangelize. They will go to a
- 40:59Speaker 2: senator and say, this borehole came from the church.
- 41:04Speaker 1: My daughter is in school today, court see the church.
- 41:09Speaker 2: This marriage that would have scattered was brought back, court
- 41:12Speaker 2: see the church. I'm an idol worshiper, but if you
- 41:16Speaker 2: touch that, you see that now? Listen, let me tell
- 41:20Speaker 2: you this. Part of the principles of dominion Is that
- 41:25Speaker 2: you must be able to translate the God life. To
- 41:28Speaker 2: affect all and sundry. Because he sends rain both on
- 41:32Speaker 2: the good. God has a program for society.
- 41:37Speaker 1: Are we together?
- 41:38Speaker 2: Every man of God who has attained a commendable size
- 41:41Speaker 2: in ministry.
- 41:43Speaker 1: There is a.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Corporate social responsibility. You don't have to be an oil
- 41:47Speaker 2: and gas company. Once you are a man of God
- 41:50Speaker 2: who intends to last. There must be an expression. I
- 41:57Speaker 2: used to be in Zaria before I moved to Abuja.
- 42:01Speaker 2: And up until now, every time I visit, I express
- 42:04Speaker 2: on there. Once they know I'm around, you will find
- 42:08Speaker 2: it's literally like a crusade without calling anybody. You see,
- 42:13Speaker 2: one thing I've learned with Muslims, if it's welfare, they
- 42:16Speaker 2: won't stop from coming. They can stop crusades, but once
- 42:20Speaker 2: you say food, medicals, with Jesus' joy, even if it's
- 42:24Speaker 2: inside the Baptist.
- 42:25Speaker 1: Street, they will enter there and wait.
- 42:27Speaker 2: Most of us have been wasting an opportunity for a
- 42:30Speaker 2: harvest because we are unconcerned about the things that happen
- 42:35Speaker 2: in society. That theology is not accurate. We are not
- 42:41Speaker 2: of the world, I agree, but we are in the world.
- 42:45Speaker 2: We cannot be detached from the activities that happen within
- 42:49Speaker 2: our space. I'm praying in the name of Jesus Christ
- 42:53Speaker 2: that for a man of God, for a woman of God,
- 42:55Speaker 2: for a pastor who has come here, whilst you are
- 42:57Speaker 2: hearing me, the Holy Spirit will tell you this is
- 42:59Speaker 2: the missing link. This is why your church has been
- 43:02Speaker 2: in a place for 10 years. and the community. You
- 43:05Speaker 2: have never seen the chief of that community. You have
- 43:08Speaker 2: never greeted the traditional head within that community. He does
- 43:12Speaker 2: not know you, yet you have so much property there.
- 43:15Speaker 2: The young boys in that community cannot defend the land.
- 43:18Speaker 2: They don't know the owner. They have never participated.
- 43:22Speaker 1: In anything kingdom.
- 43:23Speaker 2: You've never called them for anything. You will know the
- 43:29Speaker 2: relevance of community when there is a crisis. Well, with
- 43:33Speaker 2: all due respect, most of you here in the West,
- 43:35Speaker 2: you've not really seen a serious crisis.
- 43:38Speaker 1: You see.
- 43:39Speaker 2: But when you are in a place where at any
- 43:41Speaker 2: point they can burn things here and there, there are
- 43:44Speaker 2: people who say, I am a Muslim but minus this.
- 43:47Speaker 2: This was the person feeding our wives, our husbands.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Church is quiet.
- 43:57Speaker 2: This is a pastor's conference room. I want to believe
- 44:01Speaker 2: the Holy Spirit is speaking to our hearts. I love
- 44:06Speaker 2: us all. Because that's the way we translate it to
- 44:10Speaker 2: improve our people. Are we together? So the Great Commission.
- 44:15Speaker 2: I said three things. This is the first thing now.
- 44:18Speaker 2: To understand God's program. That God's program, if it must
- 44:22Speaker 2: be done well. It must capture within our experience and
- 44:26Speaker 2: our mission statements and our church activities, evangelism.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Let me submit to you with all due respect.
- 44:33Speaker 2: There are churches that cannot remember the last time they
- 44:36Speaker 2: made an altar call.
- 44:38Speaker 1: And I don't mean to insult us. It is a
- 44:41Speaker 1: terrible thing.
- 44:41Speaker 2: You cannot finish preaching and consistently and just say, well,
- 44:46Speaker 2: if the sermon touched you, you are always free to
- 44:48Speaker 2: give your life to Jesus. No, that's not the model
- 44:51Speaker 2: that was handed over. He desires that all men be
- 44:55Speaker 2: saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
- 45:00Speaker 2: World evangelization, God's program.
- 45:03Speaker 1: For the unbelieving world.
- 45:05Speaker 2: Discipleship that leads to transformation by the sound communication of doctrine.
- 45:10Speaker 2: God's program for helping the saints attain maturity. And then
- 45:14Speaker 2: societal or territorial transformation. God's program for society. You believe that,
- 45:20Speaker 2: say amen. I'm not going to talk much about discipleship.
- 45:24Speaker 2: This was the second aspect that I wanted to touch quickly.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Building men. The Bible says that he led captivity captive
- 45:33Speaker 2: and he gave gifts unto men. And that he gave
- 45:36Speaker 2: those gifts some apostles, some prophets, some pastors, evangelists, some pastors,
- 45:44Speaker 2: some teachers. And the Bible says he gave that for
- 45:47Speaker 2: the maturing, perfecting of the saints.
- 45:51Speaker 1: That the saints will do the work of the ministry.
- 45:54Speaker 2: Please look at me. Every man and woman of God here.
- 45:58Speaker 2: I want you to know that the business of ministry
- 46:01Speaker 2: is the business of building men. The business of ministry
- 46:06Speaker 2: beyond physical buildings. Beyond registering ministries and organizations in corporate
- 46:12Speaker 2: affairs commission. The ministry that we are called into is
- 46:18Speaker 2: the ministry of building men. If you are not building men,
- 46:24Speaker 2: if you build structures more than you build men, you
- 46:27Speaker 2: are failing. If you build structures more than you build men,
- 46:35Speaker 2: you are failing. No matter the ministry expansion, no matter
- 46:42Speaker 2: the network of churches globally, the real index is the
- 46:47Speaker 2: kind and the quality of men that you are building.
- 46:51Speaker 2: Jesus said, I will build my church. He was speaking
- 46:54Speaker 2: of these living stones.
- 46:56Speaker 1: Men.
- 46:58Speaker 2: And there is a formula for building men.
- 47:00Speaker 1: I'm praying again that God will.
- 47:02Speaker 2: Grant us intelligence to come up with programs that build men.
- 47:07Speaker 2: And you know that building men is across various.
- 47:12Speaker 1: The way you.
- 47:12Speaker 2: Build members is different from the way you build leaders.
- 47:17Speaker 2: Are we together now? Yes. The Bible says strong meat
- 47:21Speaker 2: belongs to them who by reason of use have learned
- 47:24Speaker 2: to exercise their senses onto godliness.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Let me tell you the truth.
- 47:28Speaker 2: There are certain things you should not teach new believers.
- 47:31Speaker 1: You will destroy them. An example, prosperity. Prosperity.
- 47:35Speaker 2: The first sermon a young believer should hear is not prosperity.
- 47:38Speaker 2: You teach a young believer a sermon on prosperity, you
- 47:41Speaker 2: have destroyed him. He has not learned death to the flesh.
- 47:45Speaker 2: He has not learned character. He has not learned how
- 47:47Speaker 2: to live a surrendered life. And now you open him
- 47:50Speaker 2: up to, you have only multiplied lust upon that person.
- 47:54Speaker 2: You will destroy that believer. It is line upon line.
- 47:58Speaker 2: Precept upon precept. Here a little, there a little. There
- 48:01Speaker 2: must be a formula. We must go back and remodel
- 48:05Speaker 2: our formula for building believers. There are things a believer
- 48:09Speaker 2: must hear before he hears about money. There are things
- 48:12Speaker 2: a believer must hear before he hears about influence. Every
- 48:17Speaker 2: topic is not relevant at every level. Line upon line.
- 48:21Speaker 2: Jesus being the chief cornerstone.
- 48:25Speaker 1: Show us the ancient.
- 48:27Speaker 3: Path Will you lead us along eternal highway? We want
- 48:34Speaker 3: to follow the ways of Jesus.
- 48:38Speaker 1: We want to enter your rest. Show us the ancient path.
- 48:47Speaker 1: Will you lead us along eternal highway?
- 48:52Speaker 3: We want to follow the footsteps of Jesus. Let me
- 49:01Speaker 3: tell you something God revealed to me.
- 49:04Speaker 2: No amount of publicity will bring people more than God
- 49:09Speaker 2: himself recommending them to a house he knows they will
- 49:13Speaker 2: be trained.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Thank God for billboards. Thank God for Facebook.
- 49:20Speaker 2: But there is a mystery that no technology can reproduce
- 49:24Speaker 2: as far as bringing men and the Lord added daily
- 49:29Speaker 2: daily if you are not willing to save sinners it
- 49:34Speaker 2: is a useless prayer to pray for increase to your
- 49:37Speaker 2: church I'm sorry, but it's the truth. If you are
- 49:40Speaker 2: not willing to pay the price, let me tell you
- 49:44Speaker 2: the truth. By God's grace, I respect everyone here, but
- 49:48Speaker 2: I'm not sure there's anyone here who is.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Up to 100 years.
- 49:51Speaker 2: Men of God, this call is a call to sacrifice.
- 49:55Speaker 2: Let's not allow this geo-mentality deceive us.
- 49:59Speaker 1: Thank God for honor, but please.
- 50:02Speaker 2: Let's drop it aside and serve God's people sincerely. A
- 50:06Speaker 2: man of God who is a lazy person should retire
- 50:09Speaker 2: from ministry. Because ministry is about diligence. Most people desire increase.
- 50:17Speaker 2: They admire what God is doing in the life of
- 50:20Speaker 2: great ministries. But they do not have an understanding of
- 50:23Speaker 2: the kind of labor that goes into be trusted with men.
- 50:28Speaker 1: Hallelujah. It's a sacrifice.
- 50:32Speaker 2: You will never be an effective priest again.
- 50:35Speaker 1: At your convenience. No.
- 50:40Speaker 2: We were not trained that way. Those who trained us.
- 50:43Speaker 2: Lay bought on to death. We saw from them.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Diligence.
- 50:49Speaker 2: And I speak with all due respect. To those of
- 50:52Speaker 2: my generation here. No.
- 50:54Speaker 1: Take away that geo office mentality. And get to work.
- 50:58Speaker 1: There are souls to save.
- 50:59Speaker 2: If you don't have a sermon to preach, go and
- 51:02Speaker 2: sit in your study room and be designing a Bible
- 51:05Speaker 2: study manual to mentor your people. You can't say there
- 51:09Speaker 2: is nothing to do. Honestly, anyone in ministry who only
- 51:13Speaker 2: does Sunday to Sunday is a lazy person. Take that
- 51:16Speaker 2: from me. There has to be someone to be following
- 51:19Speaker 2: up during the week. You know how long it takes
- 51:22Speaker 2: to prepare a sermon that is balanced and theologically sound.
- 51:26Speaker 2: Not to scrabble something while they are taking offering. And
- 51:29Speaker 2: then you come up and say, don't worry. We need
- 51:32Speaker 2: to sit down. Don't teach people opinions. Get the word.
- 51:36Speaker 2: Study to show yourself approved unto God.
- 51:40Speaker 1: A workman that needed not to be ashamed.
- 51:43Speaker 2: There is a relationship between shame and laziness.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Hallelujah. Let's encourage our worshipers. Don't write songs that are meaningless.
- 51:56Speaker 1: Songs that just came as a result of copying all
- 51:59Speaker 1: kinds of things.
- 52:00Speaker 3: No.
- 52:01Speaker 2: The intelligence that is in your song is where the
- 52:05Speaker 2: edification comes from. It's good to sing but what is
- 52:09Speaker 2: the song saying? Is it helping someone know God? Are
- 52:14Speaker 2: we together? Let's minimize some of these songs that market ignorance.
- 52:25Speaker 1: Praise the name of the Lord.
- 52:27Speaker 2: Please someone who has faith. Say after me in Jesus name.
- 52:31Speaker 1: I receive grace. To feed God's people. I receive grace.
- 52:37Speaker 1: To feed God's people.
- 52:40Speaker 2: You're a man of God. Please go back home and
- 52:41Speaker 2: sit down. I don't condemn you. There are concordances. There
- 52:45Speaker 2: are lexicons to buy.
- 52:47Speaker 1: Are we together? There are manuals. People have already labored
- 52:50Speaker 1: for you. For God's sake. Let's sit down and get truth.
- 52:54Speaker 1: And feed God's people. It is at this point. That
- 52:58Speaker 1: with all due respect. I respect the Catholics and the Anglicans.
- 53:04Speaker 2: The Pentecostals thank God. I mean we thank God for
- 53:06Speaker 2: the ministry of the Holy Spirit. But you see, I
- 53:09Speaker 2: was raised by the Anglican. And there was no room
- 53:13Speaker 2: for laziness. The structure, if anyone here has passed through
- 53:17Speaker 2: the Anglican communion. No, you don't stand and preach opinions.
- 53:22Speaker 2: The topic is already known. So you won't come and
- 53:24Speaker 2: preach nonsense. With sufficient verses, well researched.
- 53:31Speaker 1: Yes sir. You would not even serve if you could
- 53:36Speaker 1: not recite the Apostles Creed. You see that? Blessed be
- 53:49Speaker 1: the name of the Lord.
- 53:51Speaker 2: So we must obtain grace to build God's people. Your
- 53:55Speaker 2: sermons should come out of your desire to see God's
- 53:59Speaker 2: people built. But your sermons will be an overflow of
- 54:03Speaker 2: your transformations. You cannot feed God's people beyond your level
- 54:08Speaker 2: of spiritual transformation.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Let me repeat that again.
- 54:11Speaker 2: You cannot feed God's people beyond your level of spiritual transformation.
- 54:15Speaker 1: And let me make an honest admission to you.
- 54:17Speaker 2: There are certain things that your people need that you
- 54:21Speaker 2: don't have the grace to give them. You must have
- 54:23Speaker 2: the unashamedness to outsource the graces.
- 54:26Speaker 1: That can help them.
- 54:28Speaker 2: Graces that are vetted across the lines of godliness and character.
- 54:32Speaker 2: And don't let your people die because of ego. If
- 54:36Speaker 2: you don't have the grace, there are people within the body.
- 54:40Speaker 2: Is God helping us? I have to give us the
- 54:45Speaker 2: last area and then we'll stop. Blessed be the name
- 54:50Speaker 2: of the Lord. My final thought with us as a
- 54:59Speaker 2: contribution to this conference is I want to identify a
- 55:04Speaker 2: few issues within the body of Christ that I believe
- 55:08Speaker 2: as a recommendation that God is going to help us.
- 55:11Speaker 2: Part of my call and my mandate is to help
- 55:15Speaker 2: bring love, unity, and balance within the body. You'll never
- 55:20Speaker 2: find me insulting people tearing down people, tearing down another
- 55:27Speaker 2: person's ministry. It has never worked.
- 55:31Speaker 1: It won't work. Hallelujah.
- 55:36Speaker 2: But the church of the Lord Jesus Christ from its
- 55:40Speaker 2: inception has never been without challenges.
- 55:43Speaker 1: Please, I want you to listen carefully.
- 55:45Speaker 2: Having challenges across the body is not necessarily a proof
- 55:48Speaker 2: of backsliding. In most cases, it's not even a demonic issue.
- 55:52Speaker 2: It's just the reality that comes with the human nature.
- 55:56Speaker 2: And if you understand leadership, you know that conflict and
- 55:59Speaker 2: everything around it is part of growth. When the church
- 56:04Speaker 2: began to grow, there were issues. Is that not so
- 56:06Speaker 2: in your Bible? There were issues.
- 56:08Speaker 1: You find that in Acts chapter 6.
- 56:11Speaker 2: The first issue we see that the church had to
- 56:13Speaker 2: deal with was welfare issue. Some people felt like they
- 56:16Speaker 2: were being neglected in the daily sharing. And the report,
- 56:20Speaker 2: it first started as a rumor. And then it got
- 56:22Speaker 2: to the apostles. And the apostles said, no, we have
- 56:25Speaker 2: a mandate and we have a jurisdiction to stay in.
- 56:28Speaker 2: And this is a lesson for someone. The more growth comes,
- 56:32Speaker 2: the easier for you to move away from the ministry
- 56:35Speaker 2: and get into administrative duties. And administrative duties are wonderful.
- 56:40Speaker 2: But if you do not outsource systems that keep you focused,
- 56:44Speaker 2: you will stop being a man of God and become
- 56:46Speaker 2: an excellent administrator. There are people, the worst thing that
- 56:53Speaker 2: happened to you is that you grew in ministry. That
- 56:57Speaker 2: in itself seemed like an attack. Because you left the
- 57:01Speaker 2: ministry of the word and prayer and got to serving tables.
- 57:06Speaker 2: Tables should be served. But he said, no, select some
- 57:08Speaker 2: among yourselves. But we will give ourselves continually.
- 57:12Speaker 1: Acts chapter 6 and verse 4. To prayer and the
- 57:15Speaker 1: ministry of the word.
- 57:17Speaker 2: And how many of you know that among those who
- 57:19Speaker 2: were selected to serve tables, other people rose up from there,
- 57:24Speaker 2: including the person.
- 57:25Speaker 1: That the Bible identifies as an evangelist.
- 57:28Speaker 2: They were ordained to serve tables, but eventually at least
- 57:32Speaker 2: two of them became mighty men.
- 57:34Speaker 1: Philip was one of them. Stephen was another. Hallelujah.
- 57:41Speaker 2: But let's talk about two things or three things as
- 57:44Speaker 2: I wrap up. There are many challenges in the body
- 57:48Speaker 2: of Christ. And there's almost no end if we have to.
- 57:51Speaker 1: Dissect them one by one.
- 57:53Speaker 2: Because most of those challenges are subjective. But I will
- 57:56Speaker 2: talk about the issues that concern everybody.
- 57:58Speaker 1: Number one.
- 58:00Speaker 2: And the PFN chairman Lagos chapter graciously mentioned one of them.
- 58:06Speaker 2: I think that as the body of Christ, we must
- 58:11Speaker 2: be able to come up with a statement of faith.
- 58:15Speaker 2: At what point are you called a Christian? What are
- 58:20Speaker 2: the parameters that define.
- 58:23Speaker 1: A Nigerian Christian?
- 58:25Speaker 2: If we do not answer this question with all due respect,
- 58:30Speaker 2: in the next 5-10 years, they will ship in a
- 58:34Speaker 2: lot of things into this nation that will pollute the
- 58:37Speaker 2: authenticity of the faith life. Once there is no definition,
- 58:43Speaker 2: anything is permissible. There must be a statement of faith.
- 58:51Speaker 2: What do I have to believe to be a Christian?
- 58:57Speaker 2: I feel very sad and I think the PFN chairman
- 59:04Speaker 2: also mentioned.
- 59:05Speaker 1: This about Dr.
- 59:07Speaker 2: Otterbill bringing that as an obligation. because the faith walk
- 59:14Speaker 2: is largely personal and because of the person of the
- 59:18Speaker 2: Holy Spirit and the unique expression of the way he
- 59:22Speaker 2: trains us we will have different templates as far as
- 59:26Speaker 2: our walk with God is concerned and that is alright
- 59:29Speaker 2: But the danger there is that if it is not
- 59:32Speaker 2: balanced by the jurisdiction of the world, we can delve
- 59:35Speaker 2: into anything in the name of the Spirit leads. So,
- 59:41Speaker 2: I can walk down right now and slap Pastor Godman
- 59:45Speaker 2: and say it was an instruction the Holy Ghost gave me.
- 59:48Speaker 1: Are we together?
- 59:49Speaker 2: I'm not being sarcastic. Now, it is difficult to say
- 59:52Speaker 2: I'm wrong. Because one, you are not the Holy Ghost.
- 59:54Speaker 1: Two, you are not me. And it's a spiritual thing.
- 59:58Speaker 2: But later, after five years, I will find that it
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: was a demon that spoke to me.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: And quietly repent.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: But while I'm doing that, I have mentored others across
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: that error. So that slapping will now become a doctrine.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: Are we learning now?
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: One of the.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: Ways error spreads is because it is spiritualized. Once error
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: is spiritualized, it is difficult to tame it. Because the
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: basis for taming it will look like being, you are being,
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: what's the word now?
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: Are we together now?
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: No matter your work with God, the template on how
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: the Spirit of God works with people will always be
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: consistent with the character of Scripture.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: We are not the first to receive all kinds of instructions.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: And I tell you, God can give sometimes very challenging instructions.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Are we together now? As a man of God, God
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: has given me instructions that cannot be a doctrine. Now,
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: there are three layers of learning spiritually. Number one is
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: called a historic doctrine.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: Learning.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: Historic archaeological learning. The second kind of learning is called
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: a doctrinal learning. The third kind is called personalized dealings.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: Where because of your work with God. And the unique
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: expression of God's grace. He will lead you to a
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: pathway that is only for you. You are never supposed
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: to replicate that unique dealing. If not it will destroy
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: another believer. I'll give you an instance. God may check
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: my heart. and see to it that if he gives
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: me many houses and many cars, because of my level
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: of alignment and submission, it may lead me into perdition.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: And because of that, in order to manage that tendency
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: of the flesh in me, he will give me a
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: unique instruction. Never have more than three houses, never have
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: more than three cars. And once I walk in keeping
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: with that instruction, I will flourish in ministry. So when
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: you do an interview for me and say, what is
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: the secret of your success? I will tell you, I
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: do not have more than three cars and three houses.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: If you now mentor that personalized dealing, maybe your assignment
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: requires 10 houses.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: You are in trouble already. Are we together?
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: Because our personalized dealings with God produce results in our lives,
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: chances are excellent that as we mentor those who are
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: around us, we also bring our unique dealings and turn
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: it into a doctrine because of the result.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: That it produces.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: This is one of the causes of error in the body.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: So God can tell someone, slap the person on the
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: wheelchair three times, a divine instruction.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: One, two, three, and the person jumps up.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: The young man who watched you now will organize a
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: crusade and bring a son of a police officer who
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: is on a wheelchair and slap him three times. The
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: guy will not get up and the boy will go
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: to jail. And we blame the Holy Ghost. It is
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: not the Holy Spirit. It is that we do not
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: know the difference between.
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: God's unique dealing to you and what is doctrine now. Hallelujah.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: Never build ministry out of personal visionary experiences. No matter
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: how spectacular, you will be destroying the ministry.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: We're wrapping up. Are we together now? I've had by
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: the message of God.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: I am one who has been graced to live in
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: the reality of angelic encounters.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: Encounters of the Holy Spirit.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: There are encounters that if I bring as my personal experience.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: It would destroy many people in the body of Christ.
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: Not because it is erroneous. But the nature, the instructions,
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: the things that God gave. The kinds of instructions that
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: came from that encounter, it was from my personal edification.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: And it was not because it worked for me, does
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: not mean I automatically turn it into a doctrine. And
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: sometimes the error comes sincerely. It's just people telling you
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: their story, how it worked for them. Not every story
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: is a testimony. There are some you keep to yourself.
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: We have to pray.
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: Your grace, your grace. I'm nothing without you.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: Your grace, your grace. Shines on me. It's your grace,
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: your grace.
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: I'm nothing without you.
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: Praise your.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: Praise.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Hallelujah.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: I may not have the time to discuss it, but
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: please write it down. Number one, you need a statement
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: of faith that guides your life. How far is far
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: in your walk with God? How far is far As
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: far as the church you are leading is concerned, all
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: things are lawful, but not all things are expedient. By
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: the message of God, I have the privilege of preaching
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: across several places, several denominations. And as a principle, I
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: learn to adapt to whatever is the modus operandi of
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: any church that I find.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: But I have my personal convictions. I don't preach everywhere
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: because I agree with everything there.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: I have my reservations. However, it is not enough reason
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: for differences. But as far as mentoring and building those
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: under your care concern. You have to define what being
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: a spiritual person is. Define the parameters for true spirituality.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: Number two.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: The second challenge that I wish I had the time
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: to talk about.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: Was the fact that many people are in ministry.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: Who have been wounded. And did not stay to be healed.
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: And they got into ministry. As simple as this sounds.
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: It is dangerous to carry the mantle of priesthood.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: When you are not healed. A scar is proof that
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: a wound was once there. But is now healed.
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: And if that wound is not healed.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: God does not send you.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: Most of the envy, the jealousy, the backbiting, and lots
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: of things that you see happening across the body of Christ,
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: the root of it is that people have pains that
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: came from their background that they did not stay with
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: the spirit to be healed from. Then they spiritualize that pain.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: Are we together now? Growing up in life and ministry,
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: I really did not know That emotional wounds were real.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: I just focused on physical wounds. But now as God
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: has helped me to grow. I have seen that emotional
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: wounds can be like diabetes. It can stay there for years.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: There are people carrying all kinds of pain. Their anger
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: is what sent them to go and pray and fast.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: The search for the anointing was not.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: To bless people. It was from a standpoint of competition.
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: Let me tell you this.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: Only wounded people wound others. When you are healed, you
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: don't wound others. When you rejoice over the pain of
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: another man, another person's ministry, when you are happy, when
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: you see people going down, no matter how you spiritualize it,
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: it is because there is an injury. Psychologists are wise enough,
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: and most of us have churches full of intelligent people
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: They can look at you as a pastor and know
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: that this sermon is not the Holy Spirit. This sermon
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: came from your background. It came from your pain. You
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: are trying to manage your frustrations.
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: Listen, listen, listen.
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: I really, I have to honor the time and stop
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: and then all of you are here, but I want
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: you to please get this. You need to go and
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: stay with the Holy Spirit. And say, heal me, oh God.
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: I don't know what injury. Joseph, your brothers threw you
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: in the pit. You are not even aware that you
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: are wounded already. Make sure you are healed before you
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: see them. it took a healed Joseph to ignore the
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: wickedness of his brothers it took a healed Joseph to
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: not punish Potiphar if I am Joseph as I'm coming
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: out as a prime minister who is the first person
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: you call.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: Potiphar, where are you?
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: You and the wife. Get back into that prison. Let
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: me tell you this. Let me tell you this. Most
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: of us came from polygamous families. You did not realize
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: the effect. Most of us probably did not go to
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: school early. Most of our parents made nasty comments. And
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: you did not know that it was wound upon wound.
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: They called you a failure. They said you will never
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: amount to anything.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: Just because you are old doesn't mean you are healed.
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: You can be old in age still carrying the wound
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: of childhood. So you don't know why you are an
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: angry man of God. The moment someone says this is
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: your shoe. Is he original or fake? That can become
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: a two year war. He was just throwing a joke.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: But the joke starts an injury. Listen carefully. We are
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: wrapping up.
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: But you need to hear this. If we want to
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: see unity.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: There is a revelation that brings unity.
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: Are we together? Healed.
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: There are preachers that are not healed. That is the
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: reason why there is fight for membership. There are preachers
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: that are not healed. It's the reason why we dishonor
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: elderly people.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: Are we together now? Yes.
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: Most of the things we do from a fake life.
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: to selling lies on the internet, to trying to use
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: dressing to show that faith is working.
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: All of those things are proof of a wound. I'm
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: telling you this. When a young man.
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: Gets into ministry, and in one year his dream is
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: just to buy a private jet, have the largest church,
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: he may not be wrong, but the young man has
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: been wounded. He does not even know what is motivating this.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: It's not always demons. Demons have surprised themselves. Because what
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: they did and what they did not do. We are
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: all blaming them. We are going to pray oh.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: You have been patient. Listen.
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: Most of you ask your congregations for extra time. Let
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: me ask you for extra time now.
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: We are going to pray. Listen to me. Please hear me.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: What do you think would become of a general overseer's
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: wife who was wounded by her stepmother, called a bad lady,
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: a prostitute.
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: Called whatever.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: Now she's married a man of God. She's in a church.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: Most likely, She will look at every other woman's dressing.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: She's not a bad woman. She's only a wounded woman.
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: Who is this woman always dressing rich? Mark her for me.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: All these useless wars in church.
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: I am telling you, the cure is not just reconciliation.
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: The cure is healing.
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: Because I have a mindset that if I celebrate Pastor
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: Godman and I celebrate the work he's doing, what if
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: I lose my relevance? That orientation came as a result
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: of a wound.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: Aircrafts don't crash.
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: In the air because there is space for every aircraft
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: no matter how big it is. Some of you right here,
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: you are in this place. I know we are pastors.
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: Let God use me for one minute to heal someone
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: before we wrap up. There are some of you who
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: cannot see yourself. You are here now, but you cannot
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: look eyeball to eyeball because you are angry. And most
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: of those who have that anger don't have growth. So
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: what they are fighting about is not truly, it's unnecessary.
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: You are looking for something to blame. And if there's
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: nobody else to blame, your wife becomes a victim.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: Listen to me.
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: Men of God, we have lost valuable people in our
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: churches because we've not been.
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: Able to tame our anger, tame our jealousy.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: Some of you are jealous even with your children and
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: your sons and daughters. People you raise, you still fight them.
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: It's not because you want them to fail. It's because
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: you want to succeed alone. And that succeeding alone came
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: because you did not take first position. You watch awards
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: given to people. And there is still the craving of
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: a primary school child. Crying within an individual. Still wanting
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: to be celebrated alone. Let me teach you something. Let's
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: do a little consultancy. This is not a man of
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: God now. The highest psychological need of any man.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: Including you looking at me. Is the need to feel loved.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: The need to feel valued. And the need to feel appreciated.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: Say after me. Loved. Say valued.
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: Loved.
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: Say appreciated. One more time. Say loved, valued, appreciated.
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: Anybody, including your spouse, who violates that law becomes your enemy.
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: I'll tell you where your words are coming from. Because
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: someone bruised your ego knowingly or unknowingly. You stepped into
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: a meeting and the person trivialized your apostleship. And you
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: walked out of that meeting marking his face. And he
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: became your enemy forever.
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: Tonight be healed.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: Be healed.
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: You have been wounding your congregations.
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: You tell them you are shouting at them because they
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: went left.
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: They moved right. You still shouted. It's not the direction.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: It's you. P.F.N. I'm sorry you invited me. I'm sorry.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Now please, everybody stand.
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: Everybody stand. I'm going to give you the next five minutes.
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: I'd like you to walk to everybody you can find
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: and just tell them, I bless you and I honor you.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: Go ahead. God bless you.
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: Hug the person whether you know the person or not.
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: I bless you and I honor you. We fought during
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: the crusade but we are still Christians.
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: God bless you. God bless you. God bless you. God
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: bless you.
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: We are neighbors, but I've never entered your church to
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: see what God is doing. Please appreciate someone. I honor you.
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: You may have 30 members, but I appreciate you. You
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: may have two members, but I appreciate you.
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: Take a minute.
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: You'll soon return to your seat. Make sure you celebrate them.
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: I don't care how many members you have. I know
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: you are still learning. We may not be at the
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: same level of grace. But just for you to know
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: that we are stronger together. Stronger together. Stronger together. Stronger together.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: You are the one.
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: That we praise.
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: You are the one we adore.
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: You give the.
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: Healing and rest.
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: That's always underfoot.
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: Please return back to your seats rejoicing.
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: We're out of time.
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: Return back to your seat. We're about to pray. Return
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: back to your seat. I know you are a prophet.
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: I respect you as a prophet. I know you are
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: an apostle. I respect you as an apostle. I don't
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: downplay your stay.
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: Listen. Let me tell you this.
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: When you derive joy in demeaning the relevance of another
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: man of God, it does not make you great. Fathers, please,
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: we're wrapping up, we're wrapping up. Let me have your attention, please.
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: God wants to tell us something serious now.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: Listen, please.
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: Fathers, you are greatly honored, but respect the sons. They
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: have an.
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: Advantage of time and can learn experience from you.
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: Every father has shown us what he can become, but
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: we do not yet know what.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: The sons will become.
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: Eli, you played a role in the life of Samuel.
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: But don't demean that young boy. That is the prophet
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: who will ordain Saul. That is the prophet who will
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: ordain David. Sons, respect fathers. It doesn't matter what they preach.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: It doesn't matter how many times you travel to the
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: spirit and come back.
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: You are still a son. If a baby takes... Ten
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: tins of breast milk.
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: The baby does not become an adult. The baby becomes
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: a healthy baby. Hallelujah. Let me speak especially to younger
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: people in ministry.
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: Don't follow this blind and foolish campaign of pointing fingers
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: against fathers. Can I tell you?
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: The more I grow in ministry, the more I'm silent.
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: When you see fathers quiet, find out why. Young people
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: have sin without wisdom. When a father says, and keeps quiet,
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: keep quiet as a young man too, you'll be wiser.
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: Are we together? Contemporaries, let's respect ourselves. If you fight
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: somebody's ministry, people are not idiots. They know truth when
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: they see it.
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: And the moment you begin to find people, you show
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: your insecurity.
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: It comes on display.
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: Because those who are helped by God walk ever conscious
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: of His mercy over their lives.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: So, I will end my session by saying this.
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: Apostle John, speaking by the Spirit, he wrote to three
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: groups of people.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: I write to you, fathers. I write to you, young men.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: I write to you, children.
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: No matter the category of age and experience in ministry,
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: there is something.
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: Written to you. A letter from God. What God is
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: telling the fathers is not what he's telling the young men. No.
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: The fathers have wisdom and experience. The young men have strength.
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: The children have malleability of heart. You can make them
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: become anything.
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: Hold hands with someone. We're about to wrap up. Lord,
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: make us instruments of your peace.
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: Where there is hatred, let your love increase.
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: Lord, make us instruments of your peace.
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: Walls of pride and prejudice shall cease.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: When we are your instrument.
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: Please look at me, man of God. If your principles
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: and practices are wrong, I don't condemn you, but change.
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: If you have been mentored, when I say unity, I
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: don't mean embracing everything. Because there are things in the
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: body of Christ that are absolute nonsense.
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: Don't mistaken what I'm saying. If it is not.
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: Jesus crucified, if it is not Jesus glorified, if it
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: is not Jesus revealed. So when we talk of coming together,
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: we're not saying don't carry Rachel, leave the idols of
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: your father's house.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: There is a better covenant with God.
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: There are some of us, it was poor mentorship that
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: led you into all kinds of extra biblical practices. While
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: we do not condemn you, there is room for repentance.
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: Change now. Use this conference to change.
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: Some of you were taught by wrong friends manipulative ways
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: to raise money for church. There are veterans with understanding
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: who can help you on how to structure church.
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: Finances with integrity. Find them. Go and sit down under
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: their meetings and learn. There are some of us who
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: have all kinds of character challenges.
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: These are things you have been ignoring for a long time,
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: but it's telling on you. Go back and work on yourself.
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: At every level, growth is still possible. Are we together now?
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: So when I say this, the Bible says to examine
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: ourselves whether we are still in the faith.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: Honestly, there are people I love, but they cannot be
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: my friends. I love them sincerely.
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: But until I see the degree of your yieldedness to
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: Christ and his purposes, I love you from afar and
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: I wish you well.
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: But it will be a risk to bring you into
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: my space.
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: Your emotional carelessness is not healthy for friendship with me.
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: Your level of indiscipline with anything at all. Say anything
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: you want to say. Do anything you want to do.
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: Dump into people's house. Collect their cars. Collect whatever. In
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: the name of prophetic instructions. I love you but change.
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: Don't harass any member to collect money from them.
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: They didn't send you.
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: If you are bankrupt, go to the one who sent
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: you and say, what was the strategy for my feeding?
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: Are we together? I have to say this.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: We cannot end a pastor's conference Without pointing this. The
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: truth is that some of you have lost your honor.
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: It faded like a leaf. Because of character issues. Your
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: issue was not revelation. You lack character. Once you drop
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: down from the pulpit. You are almost as if you
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: have never given your life to Christ. There are young people.
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: That carelessness started from campus. And there was no system
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: to tame it. Some of us are learning all kinds
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: of rubbish. Lending all kinds of rubbish.
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: It has to change. Anybody who is coming to your church.
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: Plundering you. Or making you disturb wealthy people in your church.
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: Or all kinds of character challenges. I don't condemn you.
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: Never will I.
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: We are products of God's mercy. But for God's sake.
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: Some of you may need to take a break for
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: a few weeks. And sit down with a seasoned man
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: of God. And say help me I have anger. Help
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: me I have lust. Help me I have what again?
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: Jealousy. Bitterness. Envy. Unforgiveness. Over my dead body. No, no, no, no, no.
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: Repent now. Repent. Repent. This is why we are holding hands.
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: One prayer and I leave this place. Show me mercy,
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: oh God. Don't pray for your congregation. Don't worry about
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: your congregation. Pray for yourself. Obtain mercy. Walk upon my heart.
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: Someone pray. Walk upon my heart. Give me longevity of
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: impact in ministry. Let me be a person of love genuinely. Genuinely. Genuinely.
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: Let me become a builder to the body, not a destroyer.
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: Someone go ahead and pray.
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: Repent for the manipulations you may have caused to the
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: members of your church.
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: Ask God to show you mercy.
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: The Lord is nigh them that call upon him. Make
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: a cry before God. I'm ready to do ministry with
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: integrity from today. Integrity from today. Given to prayer. Given
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: to the study of the word. Given to laboring to
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: build God's people.
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: Go ahead and pray. Let it be from the depth
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: of your heart.
