- 4:06Speaker 4: all right, you want to jump into it? Yes, close
- 4:08Speaker 4: up me, I start yep. All right, here it is.
- 4:13Speaker 4: In my younger years, I worked for a bank, not
- 4:18Speaker 4: in a great location, but that's not important to the story.
- 4:21Speaker 4: I was there long enough for three managers to come
- 4:24Speaker 4: and go, and the third and final manager I worked
- 4:27Speaker 4: under was terrible. He was transferred to the branch to
- 4:32Speaker 4: clean up as we had already failed two audits. So
- 4:37Speaker 4: let's call this manager Joe. Joe had a knack of
- 4:41Speaker 4: showing up disheveled, riding on three or four hours of sleep,
- 4:45Speaker 4: chugging five hour energy shots all day and just overall
- 4:48Speaker 4: making sure we all knew he hated the opening shifts
- 4:53Speaker 4: his day to day. His day to day consisted of
- 4:56Speaker 4: hanging out in his office and only popping out when
- 4:58Speaker 4: an attractive lamp and stop did so. How he would
- 5:02Speaker 4: find his way up behind the teller line taking over
- 5:05Speaker 4: a transaction we were already processing. This man would fold
- 5:10Speaker 4: this uh, this man would fold and offer everything under
- 5:13Speaker 4: the sun to these women waving fees, processing refunds. On
- 5:17Speaker 4: one occasion, I had to go physically ask him to
- 5:19Speaker 4: override a system message for me to complete a transaction,
- 5:22Speaker 4: as my previous attempts were met with hold on or
- 5:26Speaker 4: just a minute, wait a second. No surprise to anyone.
- 5:29Speaker 4: He was helping another good looking lady that makes me
- 5:33Speaker 4: so uncomfortable through a class acts people coming in to
- 5:39Speaker 4: the pig, and you just see this guy jump out,
- 5:40Speaker 4: come rolling out the land the counter. You just had
- 5:43Speaker 4: to be like, I mean, that's gotta be terrible, yeah, right.
- 5:46Speaker 4: When he finally made it over to my window, he
- 5:49Speaker 4: processed the override and waved off our customer. This man
- 5:54Speaker 4: physically grabbed my forearm and twisted it, gritting his teeth,
- 5:59Speaker 4: advising never interrupt him again. Okay, fast forward a few months.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Wait was this who was?
- 6:07Speaker 6: So?
- 6:07Speaker 2: Apparently he's doing is he's doing? You know, he's shooting
- 6:10Speaker 2: the many shots.
- 6:11Speaker 4: He tries all too long.
- 6:13Speaker 5: And he comes and she's trying to get his attention
- 6:16Speaker 5: behind to tell her because she needs something undone, she
- 6:19Speaker 5: needs an override code, and so she she interrupts him
- 6:23Speaker 5: to let him know.
- 6:24Speaker 4: And then after he handles the the good looking woman transaction,
- 6:29Speaker 4: he comes over to her and grabs her by her wrist.
- 6:33Speaker 1: So another woman, what he twisted?
- 6:37Speaker 4: Another woman? It's the woman telling the story. Oh, so
- 6:42Speaker 4: she's saying, she she went over to him. She's asking him, right,
- 6:47Speaker 4: she asked him to do this override, but he was
- 6:48Speaker 4: already talking to this good looking uh, this good looking customer.
- 6:52Speaker 4: So when that's over, he comes over to her and
- 6:55Speaker 4: snatches her wrist up and gives her a tight squeeze
- 6:58Speaker 4: and a twist that makes sure she knows don't ever
- 7:01Speaker 4: interrupt immediately. Not the Emperor's groove.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Emil, what would you do him?
- 7:08Speaker 3: Would you just drop him?
- 7:11Speaker 2: I know what you would do?
- 7:13Speaker 1: Well what I do?
- 7:14Speaker 4: I know what you would do? You do you know
- 7:18Speaker 4: how you down nine to one one you would be.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Like darling one.
- 7:22Speaker 4: No no, no, no, I didn't say that. You would
- 7:23Speaker 4: be U d A D.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Yes, I would be yup would be doing that. D
- 7:29Speaker 1: D absolutely would be doing that.
- 7:33Speaker 4: Uh Dad that this man just put his hand on me.
- 7:36Speaker 4: I feel sorry for unreal adult. Never interrupt me again,
- 7:43Speaker 4: he says. Fast forward a few months, and all these
- 7:45Speaker 4: freebies caught up to him, Joe found out. So he's
- 7:47Speaker 4: given all these ladies freebies. Fast forward a few months.
- 7:50Speaker 4: All these freebies caught up him. Joe founded found out
- 7:53Speaker 4: somehow that he was being fired, and instead of waiting
- 7:57Speaker 4: as one would as one would to kind of accept
- 8:00Speaker 4: their fate when they're going to get fired, he just
- 8:02Speaker 4: walked up.
- 8:03Speaker 2: He just left. None of us knew where he went
- 8:06Speaker 2: or why.
- 8:07Speaker 4: What we did know is that the market director showed up,
- 8:11Speaker 4: only to ask where he had gone off to. So
- 8:15Speaker 4: market director shows up, ask him where he's at. Come
- 8:17Speaker 4: to find out, he scurried off to the branch up
- 8:20Speaker 4: the road to cozy up with the manager there. I
- 8:22Speaker 4: never knew how that panned out. I was leaving for
- 8:25Speaker 4: the day after that, someone said the market I was
- 8:28Speaker 4: leaving for the day after after that, and someone said
- 8:31Speaker 4: the market director yelled into the phone that he needed
- 8:34Speaker 4: to come back to the branch immediately.
- 8:37Speaker 1: So wait, so he assumed he was going to get fired,
- 8:41Speaker 1: and he just walked out of the building.
- 8:42Speaker 2: I guess, so just walks.
- 8:43Speaker 4: Up this walks up to another branch.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I'm I done. I'm sure this is it for them.
- 8:50Speaker 1: I guess I'll just go down.
- 8:52Speaker 4: I'm about to get fired.
- 8:54Speaker 2: I'm gonna head up with this other brand see if
- 8:56Speaker 2: i can get a manager up there.
- 8:57Speaker 1: But certainly I've done enough.
- 8:59Speaker 4: That'll give me a an out until i'll take him. Yeah,
- 9:02Speaker 4: I'm real. Oh gosh, never mind.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I was gonna say something, but I don't think I'm
- 9:12Speaker 1: going to say it.
- 9:16Speaker 4: I don't think I will not say it. I'm good, Yeah,
- 9:20Speaker 4: I know, I I uh, you know his this guy's
- 9:23Speaker 4: driver man was like like like I don't know, he's
- 9:28Speaker 4: running that like it was some type of dating scene
- 9:30Speaker 4: for him.
- 9:30Speaker 2: You know, It's like.
- 9:33Speaker 1: That just it just makes me really uncomfortable.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm with you.
- 9:39Speaker 4: I'm right sure, Joe. Yeah, I would tell you if
- 9:49Speaker 4: some if this one of my one of my employees
- 9:52Speaker 4: grabbed on that drone, if one of my male employees
- 9:54Speaker 4: grab one of my female buoys by the arm like that.
- 9:57Speaker 4: Oh my god. Yeah, that's a problem.

- 10:56Speaker 4: I think we gotta. What is this?
- 10:59Speaker 1: This is the this is Matt. I think Nathan met
- 11:01Speaker 1: with her?
- 11:02Speaker 4: Okay, great, but yeah, all right, all right, Matt, let's
- 11:05Speaker 4: let's here.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Let's hear it.
- 11:06Speaker 6: We heard a young lady as a clerk leave.
- 11:08Speaker 7: She was in her late twice and she was great.
- 11:10Speaker 7: She was a hard worker. She was dependable. She picked
- 11:13Speaker 7: everything up really fast. So a year or so into
- 11:15Speaker 7: her tenure and she ends up pregnant. But towards the
- 11:18Speaker 7: end of her pregnancy, she decided she wasn't going to
- 11:21Speaker 7: take a fraternity lead. She was just going to be
- 11:23Speaker 7: stay at home mom. So she had a younger sister
- 11:26Speaker 7: that happened to be looking for job at the same time.
- 11:28Speaker 6: It seemed like her to timing for us, and it
- 11:30Speaker 6: just worked out well, so we brought her in with
- 11:32Speaker 6: her beer hire. She seemed to have been on the
- 11:34Speaker 6: shy side, but her sister kind of smarted got flight
- 11:36Speaker 6: as well, so that not a big deal. But now
- 11:38Speaker 6: as she's going, I believe she's there two or three
- 11:41Speaker 6: months and she's learning. She's not quite catching on like
- 11:44Speaker 6: we'd like. So you know, she're going and we're working
- 11:46Speaker 6: with her. But then one day a police officer shows
- 11:48Speaker 6: up and it just comes in he asked for and uh,
- 11:51Speaker 6: they go, they talking back for a minute, they come out,
- 11:54Speaker 6: she's upset.
- 11:54Speaker 2: They walk out to the.
- 11:55Speaker 7: Fartylat and they risked her and come to find out.
- 11:58Speaker 6: So she was working as an office clerk taking payments
- 12:00Speaker 6: and apparently she had wrapped down a customer's hard information
- 12:04Speaker 6: and then used it to her car payment and.
- 12:07Speaker 3: Then got rice back pretty quickly.
- 12:09Speaker 1: How stupid can you?
- 12:11Speaker 2: Forgot her money back?
- 12:12Speaker 6: Everything fine, but she had to be terminated.
- 12:14Speaker 1: That did you think was gonna happen?
- 12:18Speaker 2: Holdly? Never get this right?
- 12:21Speaker 4: I mean, I write down your credit card iforge and
- 12:24Speaker 4: then I go, I go pay my I go pay
- 12:28Speaker 4: my car payment. But where did it get was going
- 12:33Speaker 4: to happen? Which is this crazy charge? Was the hard
- 12:37Speaker 4: hard it's a car payment?
- 12:41Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, you gotta really be going through it to
- 12:45Speaker 3: get that desperate to real like that for real?
- 12:49Speaker 1: I mean I get it. Times are tough, but I mean,
- 12:55Speaker 1: what be smarter? Yeah?
- 12:58Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I I hate that they probably.
- 13:03Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I don't feel i'mn't feel bash because I imagine imagine
- 13:08Speaker 1: the first woman who's like, now I stay at home
- 13:11Speaker 1: on or whatever. She's like, dang, I hated my sister
- 13:13Speaker 1: off of these people, and she just stole from them
- 13:16Speaker 1: like she.
- 13:17Speaker 4: Had to know her sister.
- 13:18Speaker 3: We were kind of wild maybe so.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Maybe so, Well, she's your problem.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Now.
- 13:24Speaker 4: Whatever what do you got?
- 13:27Speaker 2: Emma?
- 13:27Speaker 1: Me? Okay, I just have one today, let me find it. Okay,
- 13:36Speaker 1: here we go I'm just sorry the MIC's in the way.
- 13:39Speaker 1: So buddy of mine works at a mid sized finance firm,
- 13:42Speaker 1: open floor plan analysts pulled the whole setup. They bring
- 13:45Speaker 1: on a new hire. We're gonna call him Dylan, who
- 13:48Speaker 1: starts on a Monday, and by Tuesday at lunch is
- 13:51Speaker 1: already across the street at the cafe with a couple
- 13:52Speaker 1: of his new coworkers. By all accounts, Dylan is in
- 13:56Speaker 1: great spirits. He's talking loudly about how hilarious it is
- 14:00Speaker 1: that he got the job at all, because most of
- 14:02Speaker 1: what's on his resume is completely made up, and he's
- 14:07Speaker 1: not being vague about it. He's listening out one by
- 14:10Speaker 1: lunch Yeah for real, Yeah, he was definitely reading up
- 14:14Speaker 1: on that one thread. The certification fake, the previous role
- 14:19Speaker 1: never happened, The big project he claimed to have led
- 14:22Speaker 1: wasn't even at his old company. He's laughing, His coworkers
- 14:26Speaker 1: are laughing. It's a whole moment. But what Dylan did
- 14:29Speaker 1: not know is that his boss is sitting in the
- 14:31Speaker 1: booth directly bye way.
- 14:36Speaker 4: So he's at lunch. Is that what's happening? Yeah, he's
- 14:39Speaker 4: at lunch with at lunch, I guess he goes. So
- 14:42Speaker 4: he started on.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Monday, and then the next day he's already like made
- 14:45Speaker 1: friends or whatever. So they go out to lunch the
- 14:47Speaker 1: second day and he's already.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Just spilling and the boss is sitting in the booth
- 14:51Speaker 3: next to him.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Yeah, he just happens to be there, but he doesn't
- 14:53Speaker 1: see him at first. The boss doesn't say a word,
- 14:56Speaker 1: he just sits there, He finishes his sandwich, he pays,
- 14:59Speaker 1: walks by to the office, and when Dylan returns from
- 15:02Speaker 1: lunch about fifteen minutes later, his desk has already been
- 15:04Speaker 1: clear down. It's a total tenure, approximately twenty eight hours.
- 15:10Speaker 4: And that was the end of doing not not totally
- 15:13Speaker 4: a first dy flame out.
- 15:14Speaker 2: But pretty close.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty close.
- 15:15Speaker 4: I mean we have a lot of stories to do that,
- 15:17Speaker 4: like him make all that up.
- 15:18Speaker 2: You know that.
- 15:19Speaker 4: I don't get the I don't get the uh, the
- 15:22Speaker 4: bragging about it like the next day.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I don't get bragging about it at all.
- 15:27Speaker 4: Really, But what do I know?
- 15:29Speaker 3: Yeah, that you take to your grave.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't believe you guys let me in. Yes,
- 15:33Speaker 2: not if it's crazy.
- 15:34Speaker 4: I'm how did you guys skate here?
- 15:36Speaker 1: Because I don't know how I got here you're looking.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Around everybody going everybody probably lied.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, like I'm sure somebody could somebody else could relate.
- 15:46Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 15:47Speaker 4: He saved this all the time. I just did a dish,
- 15:49Speaker 4: did a piece of content. The other day we did
- 15:50Speaker 4: the U the radio check that lad on his resume
- 15:55Speaker 4: and made it all the way to the c and
- 15:57Speaker 4: he was actually crushing it as a CEO. And you know,
- 16:01Speaker 4: got a couple of Duy's. Somebody started investigating.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Boom.
- 16:04Speaker 4: You know, he's got to he loses his job over.
- 16:07Speaker 4: You know, he probably wouldn't have gotten the job, to
- 16:10Speaker 4: be honest, because you know, everybody was said, well he
- 16:12Speaker 4: doesn't have a degree, but he was given an opportunity
- 16:14Speaker 4: and he worked his way up.
- 16:16Speaker 2: You know. I hate that. And then yeah, yeah, you mentioned.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Like what do they do when they're presented with something
- 16:21Speaker 3: and it's not in their willhouse, They don't know what
- 16:24Speaker 3: to do or how to do it?
- 16:25Speaker 4: Yeah, Chad gpt I guess, yeah, what do we do it?
- 16:31Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 16:31Speaker 1: Well, yeah, that story sounds kind of similar to Kari's does.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, all right, tell me about it. Ky.
- 16:38Speaker 3: All right, So this one isn't from Reddie.
- 16:40Speaker 4: This is actually a real news story.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Okay, one of the best examples of resumes fraud I've
- 16:45Speaker 3: ever heard.
- 16:46Speaker 2: So.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Merrily Jones was the dean of admissions at m I T,
- 16:50Speaker 3: not a dean at some regional school, the m I T.
- 16:54Speaker 3: She was genuinely famous in her field, the kind of
- 16:57Speaker 3: person who got quoted in The New York Times by
- 16:59Speaker 3: first name. She co wrote a book telling high school
- 17:02Speaker 3: is to stop patting their resumes, relax, and just be authentic.
- 17:07Speaker 3: She gave commencement speeches about honesty. She was, for all
- 17:10Speaker 3: intents and purposes, the face of academic integrity and college admissions.
- 17:15Speaker 3: She had been at MIT for twenty eight years when
- 17:18Speaker 3: in two thousand and seven, someone sent in an anonymous
- 17:21Speaker 3: tip suggesting that they take a closer look at her
- 17:24Speaker 3: credentials their sister.
- 17:26Speaker 2: So they did.
- 17:29Speaker 3: So they did. Marily Jones had listed degrees from three
- 17:33Speaker 3: different schools on her original nineteen seventy nine application. She
- 17:37Speaker 3: had attended one of them briefly and had not graduated.
- 17:41Speaker 3: The other two she had never enrolled in at all,
- 17:44Speaker 3: not for a single day. She didn't have one legitimate
- 17:47Speaker 3: degree on her resume, not one. MIT confronted her, and
- 17:51Speaker 3: she resigned within forty eight hours, twenty eight years at
- 17:55Speaker 3: one of the most prestigious institutions in the world, a
- 17:58Speaker 3: career built entirely on dident so she made up in
- 18:01Speaker 3: nineteen seventy nine and never bothered to update. The most
- 18:04Speaker 3: cited admissions dean in the country, the woman who builds
- 18:08Speaker 3: a career telling kids to stop lying on their applications.
- 18:13Speaker 1: I want to know why it took the one person
- 18:16Speaker 1: twenty eight years to send in the anonymous thing, like
- 18:20Speaker 1: it's been this long. I want her, I want her
- 18:24Speaker 1: to go down now.
- 18:26Speaker 3: I admire that's a long time to hate on someone.
- 18:28Speaker 4: Yeah, supply to play on.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Her downfall for that long. That was not a crazy thing,
- 18:33Speaker 1: was she?
- 18:33Speaker 4: What's crazy? When I was listening to that is like
- 18:35Speaker 4: she was like projecting right the whole time, is like
- 18:39Speaker 4: she you know, she feels like it's deep in it,
- 18:43Speaker 4: deep in you, that you're just an utter liar to
- 18:45Speaker 4: get here.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Yep y.
- 18:46Speaker 4: So then you become the mouthpiece for integrity, you know.
- 18:52Speaker 4: And I could only think that that's done in a
- 18:54Speaker 4: way to try to like direct people away. Don't look
- 18:57Speaker 4: at me if I'm talking about do all these things
- 18:59Speaker 4: do it this way? Yeah, it's got to be like,
- 19:02Speaker 4: because you know, I don't want you to look at me,
- 19:06Speaker 4: so you're just like super projecting.
- 19:08Speaker 1: And yeah, another thing I wonder is, if she was
- 19:12Speaker 1: working at this esteemed like institution, why didn't they double
- 19:17Speaker 1: check SHEU will check her credentials too. Don't like I
- 19:21Speaker 1: feel like they I feel like they should have done that.
- 19:23Speaker 1: That's a great point, but I mean, yeah, I was
- 19:26Speaker 1: just about to say, yeah, I mean, it's been a
- 19:28Speaker 1: long time, I guess, but I mean, I mean people
- 19:34Speaker 1: have been lying for however long. So I feel like,
- 19:38Speaker 1: you like, just because it was twenty eight years ago,
- 19:40Speaker 1: doesn't me she's just as trustworthy as she was. But whatever.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Just imagine she's like disciplining someone committed fraud on their resume.
- 19:49Speaker 2: She's like, how dare you?
- 19:51Speaker 1: How dare you? Did you even read my book? I didn't.
- 19:56Speaker 4: Here's a dot, here's a god. Let me sign up
- 20:00Speaker 4: for you to read my book.
- 20:06Speaker 6: M hm
- 20:09Speaker 4: M hmm.
