- 0:02Speaker 1: Welcome to the ned Palty.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hi, this is Nick and Astasu, story editor on Star Wars,
- 0:10Speaker 2: The Clone Wars and Star Wars bad Batch, and you
- 0:14Speaker 2: are listening to Aggressive Negotiations.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Hello, all you sultry Sith and sassy Padawans. This is
- 0:24Speaker 1: Jedi Master John Mills coming to you with a special
- 0:27Speaker 1: episode of Aggressive Negotiations. This week, we're going to be
- 0:31Speaker 1: getting into some saucy territory here in the galaxy far
- 0:34Speaker 1: far away. So joining me as I would require on
- 0:39Speaker 1: a special mission such as this is Jedi Master of
- 0:42Speaker 1: Love Matthew Rushing. Matt any special warnings you want to
- 0:46Speaker 1: give to all the ladies and gentlemen out there in
- 0:48Speaker 1: the audience.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Well, I think everybody. This is just pretty much the
- 0:53Speaker 3: episode that everybody has been waiting for, and so I'm
- 0:59Speaker 3: super excited to be able to be here and really
- 1:03Speaker 3: just to be able to talk about something that, Yeah,
- 1:07Speaker 3: I'm I think it's just gonna be a lot of fun.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Well, as we like to say here when they talk
- 1:14Speaker 1: about the tragedy of darth Plagus the Wise, he possessed
- 1:17Speaker 1: the secret of how to create life, which I say
- 1:19Speaker 1: is just a six pack of schlitz in the right mixtape.
- 1:22Speaker 1: But we come at this episode of aggressive negotiations grateful
- 1:27Speaker 1: for everybody that's already dropped a reviewer rating for us
- 1:30Speaker 1: over at Afpaple Podcasts. If you haven't already, please go
- 1:34Speaker 1: on and do that. But Matt, the topic for this
- 1:39Speaker 1: week is something that just sort of flits across the
- 1:41Speaker 1: mind from time to time that we all know the
- 1:44Speaker 1: Jedi were all but extinct at the end of Order
- 1:46Speaker 1: sixty six. We know that there were some Jedi that
- 1:49Speaker 1: took it the right way, some Jedi that took it
- 1:51Speaker 1: the wrong way, and some Jedi that just took it
- 1:54Speaker 1: the hard way, like Balin's skull. So we come to
- 1:58Speaker 1: this and it's sort of a fleeting thought and I'll
- 2:01Speaker 1: just throw it right out there on the floor for you.
- 2:04Speaker 1: If the Jedi feel that the Light is being extinguished
- 2:09Speaker 1: and that their way is the light, wouldn't it follow that,
- 2:13Speaker 1: in this time of great distress, possibly one of the
- 2:18Speaker 1: orders or mandates, if you will, of the Jedi when
- 2:22Speaker 1: they went back out into the galaxy would have been
- 2:24Speaker 1: to forego their prohibition against mating and pro creating and
- 2:31Speaker 1: instead considered it their duty to have as many kids
- 2:35Speaker 1: as possible to try to repopulate the Jedi. By that means,
- 2:39Speaker 1: isn't it inevitable that somebody out there would have had
- 2:41Speaker 1: that thought?
- 2:44Speaker 3: Yeah? I mean I think that the question in that
- 2:50Speaker 3: for me, I think really became when you kind of
- 2:53Speaker 3: brought it up and I was thinking about it. It
- 2:56Speaker 3: doesn't seem like you have to be you know, a
- 3:01Speaker 3: Jedi uh to have somebody you know have uh force
- 3:09Speaker 3: ability like that that it doesn't necessarily mean that, you know,
- 3:14Speaker 3: you've got two Jedi parents, they're going to give birth to,
- 3:18Speaker 3: you know, somebody who's is strong in the force. And
- 3:24Speaker 3: I do think that that's an interesting uh thing. Do
- 3:28Speaker 3: do we know specifically that just because you know, two
- 3:31Speaker 3: people who have high medical warrant accounts that were Jedi
- 3:36Speaker 3: actually leads to if they have a child, that child
- 3:42Speaker 3: being strong in the force.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Uh.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Now, you know, I think that as we look at
- 3:52Speaker 3: Star Wars as we have seen it, and the only
- 3:55Speaker 3: place really where this question I think became a a real,
- 4:04Speaker 3: you know issue where we actually saw this be the
- 4:08Speaker 3: case where somebody uh you know had a a child.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Uh honestly that it was it was Haarrah and Canaan, right,
- 4:20Speaker 3: you know, they have Jason and uh you know, we
- 4:25Speaker 3: get the the thought that that he's possibly for sensitive, right, uh,
- 4:33Speaker 3: you know, and and so in fact, you know, we
- 4:38Speaker 3: have that from the Ahsoka series, right, that that he
- 4:41Speaker 3: is for sensitive, which I do think is an incredibly
- 4:46Speaker 3: interesting uh this idea that that that's the case. And
- 4:50Speaker 3: so you know, I, you know, I don't, I don't
- 4:53Speaker 3: know what what do you think about this?
- 4:55Speaker 1: Did did?
- 4:55Speaker 3: Did that come to mind? The idea that this this
- 4:58Speaker 3: is like in some way like a Harry Potter situation
- 5:03Speaker 3: where you know, we didn't specifically, uh, you know, have
- 5:08Speaker 3: a a child. You know, just because a child was
- 5:12Speaker 3: born of two wizards that meant they were going to
- 5:15Speaker 3: be you know, another wizard, uh specifically, or that could
- 5:18Speaker 3: they have a muggle child? You know, like you know,
- 5:22Speaker 3: that's the kind of question that I came across in
- 5:24Speaker 3: this And so where did where did you kind of
- 5:26Speaker 3: land with it?
- 5:27Speaker 1: You're coming at it from the way that a proper
- 5:29Speaker 1: reasonable Jedi should have come to it, which is, I
- 5:33Speaker 1: agree with you, the force has a will that it exerts,
- 5:37Speaker 1: and just because you are the offspring of a forced
- 5:40Speaker 1: sensitive person does not mean that you yourself will be
- 5:43Speaker 1: for sensitive. In fact, even though it will make some
- 5:47Speaker 1: ears curdle out there. We find that with Palpatine and
- 5:50Speaker 1: his clones that it is possible to have that sense
- 5:54Speaker 1: of offspring with somebody who isn't particularly gifted. Uh. But
- 5:58Speaker 1: then the next generation is gifted. So the Force sort
- 6:01Speaker 1: of chooses who it wants its avatars to be, who
- 6:06Speaker 1: it wants to gift greater power to, as it were.
- 6:09Speaker 1: But I think that there would inevitably, I really think
- 6:14Speaker 1: there would inevitably be Jedi out there whose inner compass
- 6:20Speaker 1: would be broken in a sense, and they'd be looking
- 6:22Speaker 1: for what's the right direction. Obviously, Canaan and a lot
- 6:26Speaker 1: of Jedi like him chose to run out and go
- 6:31Speaker 1: into hiding and try to keep it on the down low,
- 6:34Speaker 1: and those sorts of things. Balen went out and he
- 6:38Speaker 1: got his own apprentice and said, I'm going to remake
- 6:40Speaker 1: the Jedi, but in the image that they should have been,
- 6:42Speaker 1: which is what I know how they went wrong, and
- 6:45Speaker 1: I'm going to fix it, and we're going to fix
- 6:47Speaker 1: it my way. And then you have, of course, you
- 6:50Speaker 1: know all the different variations in between. But I think
- 6:54Speaker 1: that there would be a tremendous storytelling opportunity for somebody
- 7:00Speaker 1: to come in and examine the idea of a Jedi
- 7:02Speaker 1: who whoever it was, as a Jedi, there would inevitably
- 7:07Speaker 1: be somebody out there who had considered it a mandate
- 7:09Speaker 1: of the Jedi to go out there and have kids
- 7:12Speaker 1: and at least increase the odds of four sensitive children.
- 7:15Speaker 1: And then if there were four sensitive children, raising them
- 7:18Speaker 1: as their own, sort of like making it a family
- 7:19Speaker 1: thing and say, you know, your father was a Jedi,
- 7:23Speaker 1: you're a Jedi. We're all going to be Jedi from
- 7:25Speaker 1: here on out, and we'll rebuild the order this way.
- 7:29Speaker 1: But then you also get into the troubling territory of
- 7:33Speaker 1: a Jedi who thinks of this mandate and then goes
- 7:36Speaker 1: out and basically just irresponsibly starts having children with as
- 7:40Speaker 1: many people as possible and doesn't stick around for it,
- 7:43Speaker 1: which you could argue creates a whole host of other
- 7:46Speaker 1: problems by just creating a bunch of four sensitive kids
- 7:49Speaker 1: that the Sith can then come along and corrupt at
- 7:52Speaker 1: their whim.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean see that. I do wonder too. This
- 8:01Speaker 3: is a question too, like how many Jedi are left
- 8:06Speaker 3: m h. We don't really know, but it seems like,
- 8:09Speaker 3: you know, there's a decent amount, maybe.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Less than one hundred, but more than two.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, uh, And so that's a that's a good question.
- 8:18Speaker 3: I think is is like how many Jedi actually left?
- 8:21Speaker 3: And you know what we I feel like, cuh, in
- 8:26Speaker 3: the series that have have come, is that so many
- 8:29Speaker 3: of them really struggle even to stay alive. Like I
- 8:31Speaker 3: think of even like the Obi Wan Kenobe series right
- 8:34Speaker 3: where that Jedi comes to meet him in the desert, right,
- 8:37Speaker 3: and he's just been on the run and it's just
- 8:39Speaker 3: been so terrible for him. Uh. And you know, trying
- 8:43Speaker 3: to stay alive has been hell for a couple of years.
- 8:49Speaker 1: You know.
- 8:50Speaker 3: You know, we know by that point we what Luke
- 8:53Speaker 3: is seven or eight in that that series. I think
- 8:57Speaker 3: he's eight because Leah is supposed to be eight too.
- 8:59Speaker 3: So yeah, it's been like eight years he's been on
- 9:01Speaker 3: their own, and his life is just awful. Uh. And
- 9:04Speaker 3: so you know, I think we we get to see
- 9:09Speaker 3: a lot of these these Jedi and it's been really
- 9:17Speaker 3: rough for them, uh, and they've struggled mightily with you know,
- 9:24Speaker 3: trying to find a life at all. And so I
- 9:30Speaker 3: wonder if any of them, you know, really even had
- 9:33Speaker 3: time to think about this you know, and and that's
- 9:39Speaker 3: I think that's a question that I really come up
- 9:41Speaker 3: with in in this is just how difficult it would be,
- 9:45Speaker 3: uh for them to even have these thoughts, like I'm
- 9:51Speaker 3: just trying to stay alive and I don't know if
- 9:57Speaker 3: if I will even be alive, and so to think
- 9:59Speaker 3: about like should I start to have kids and will
- 10:02Speaker 3: that be a possibility? Is, you know, I think a
- 10:08Speaker 3: really hard thing for them to think about.
- 10:10Speaker 1: That's a fair point, That's a really fair point. You know,
- 10:14Speaker 1: when you're on the run, your priorities are different. So
- 10:17Speaker 1: even if even if you were to come to even
- 10:20Speaker 1: if you were to come to the conclusion that it
- 10:23Speaker 1: would be your duty to repopulate the galaxy with four
- 10:26Speaker 1: sensitive beings, you wouldn't want to slow down enough for
- 10:32Speaker 1: it to happen. But I mean, that even opens up
- 10:33Speaker 1: a whole other question for me, because the one thing
- 10:37Speaker 1: I'm sort of unclear on is the Jedi have to
- 10:44Speaker 1: be setting off a beacon in the force basically, so
- 10:49Speaker 1: like when the Sith are quiet and thinking and meditating
- 10:52Speaker 1: and reaching out, they can sort of feel their presence
- 10:55Speaker 1: out there. But if that's the case in and of itself,
- 11:00Speaker 1: why wouldn't they push into the unknown regions? I mean,
- 11:04Speaker 1: Obi Wan stays where he is on purpose because he
- 11:09Speaker 1: has a reason for being where he is. Yoda's often
- 11:12Speaker 1: hiding somewhere. We know where Canaan is, and Canaan's kept
- 11:15Speaker 1: a really low profile up until, you know, five years
- 11:19Speaker 1: before a New Hope. But Jedi who pushed out into
- 11:25Speaker 1: the unknown regions would have been able to do the same.
- 11:29Speaker 1: So wouldn't it have been something that made sense for
- 11:32Speaker 1: them to go to the unknown regions just in the
- 11:35Speaker 1: first place. Like it's one of those things where it's
- 11:37Speaker 1: like I think that any Jedi on the run who
- 11:40Speaker 1: were thinking clearly would have gone. I mean, they wouldn't
- 11:42Speaker 1: even have stopped at the Outer Rim. They'd have found
- 11:44Speaker 1: a way to go even beyond that, because you know,
- 11:51Speaker 1: to borrow from the Grand Inquisitor, a Jedi can't help
- 11:54Speaker 1: but help others, So you'd want to get as far
- 11:57Speaker 1: away from others that you had to help that would
- 12:01Speaker 1: be in the way of the Empire as it were.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Yep.
- 12:03Speaker 1: So yeah, I don't know. Maybe that is the thing
- 12:06Speaker 1: that undercuts it. I Mean, the thing is I come
- 12:08Speaker 1: in with the question and it's like, you know, Honestly,
- 12:10Speaker 1: I guess it doesn't hold water, even though I in
- 12:14Speaker 1: my heart I think there's got to be at least
- 12:16Speaker 1: one Jedi that tries this out. There one Jedi that
- 12:20Speaker 1: completely misinterprets their mandate and how they're going to go
- 12:26Speaker 1: about it. But no, I mean, I'm willing to accept
- 12:31Speaker 1: your argument that just being on the run would have
- 12:34Speaker 1: precluded anything like this from being anybody's sole focus in
- 12:39Speaker 1: any way. So let me flip it on its head,
- 12:42Speaker 1: just to take it in another direction before we close
- 12:45Speaker 1: it out. But with Jedi who, let's say they inadvertently
- 12:51Speaker 1: have children, would that Jedi stick around or would that
- 12:58Speaker 1: Jedi flee knowing that if their child was for sensitive,
- 13:03Speaker 1: they'd be giving off more of a a beacon for
- 13:07Speaker 1: the Sith to find. Would the presence of a child
- 13:10Speaker 1: actually drive a Jedi away from where they had fallen
- 13:13Speaker 1: into hiding because they knew that it made them more
- 13:16Speaker 1: likely to be found and maybe the kid would be
- 13:19Speaker 1: better off if that Jedi wasn't there, potentially magnifying their
- 13:25Speaker 1: presence in the force.
- 13:28Speaker 3: I think that's something that when you when you think
- 13:33Speaker 3: about the idea of like a Jedi settling down having kids,
- 13:39Speaker 3: you know, creating somebody who is possibly for sensitive uh
- 13:44Speaker 3: and a child, how are you going to protect that child,
- 13:48Speaker 3: especially when you know, uh, sadly you can't even protect
- 13:56Speaker 3: yourself or you think you can't pertect yoursel I think
- 14:00Speaker 3: that's a great question, uh, and one that's you know,
- 14:04Speaker 3: would be incredibly scary for you know, any Jedi to
- 14:08Speaker 3: be facing.
- 14:09Speaker 1: UH.
- 14:09Speaker 3: And so I love that idea of how difficult that
- 14:13Speaker 3: would be in this process. And so, you know, I
- 14:17Speaker 3: keep coming back to, you know, the idea of you know,
- 14:20Speaker 3: seeing Hara and Canaan and that when they you know,
- 14:29Speaker 3: get together, right, I think the beauty of that and
- 14:34Speaker 3: and maybe this is the thing is is them choosing
- 14:41Speaker 3: to be in a relationship together by the end. One
- 14:46Speaker 3: of the things that it does is that it shows
- 14:50Speaker 3: that they're willing to live life. They're not going to
- 14:54Speaker 3: stop living life because of what's happened in the galaxy.
- 14:59Speaker 3: In fact, by choosing to create life in this uh,
- 15:06Speaker 3: you know, and and to to to think about having
- 15:08Speaker 3: a life together, it shows that they're willing to say, hey,
- 15:15Speaker 3: we're we're going to uh, we're going to celebrate why
- 15:22Speaker 3: we're fighting for our lives. You know what We're fighting
- 15:26Speaker 3: for and I think that's actually pretty cool. I think
- 15:33Speaker 3: that that actually shows, uh, maybe one of the reasons
- 15:38Speaker 3: why if if they could, if a Jedi could find
- 15:41Speaker 3: a place where there you know, they could find a
- 15:47Speaker 3: person you know, that they wanted to be with, they
- 15:49Speaker 3: could they could find some sort of stability in that
- 15:53Speaker 3: that the question really wasn't about, you know, whether or
- 15:55Speaker 3: not this is whise it's It's really about this is
- 16:02Speaker 3: a celebration. This is a celebration of all that we
- 16:06Speaker 3: believe in, all that is special, all that makes life
- 16:10Speaker 3: worth living at this point. And I think even the
- 16:13Speaker 3: question of whether or not you choose to do that
- 16:17Speaker 3: is if you have the opportunity, do it, you know,
- 16:21Speaker 3: And so whether or not you know Jedi would necessarily
- 16:25Speaker 3: be encouraged to do that, you know, I think it
- 16:27Speaker 3: would be. It's not necessarily an encouragement. But you know,
- 16:32Speaker 3: in some ways too, their their life was like, go
- 16:35Speaker 3: f if you're still alive, go into hiding, find a
- 16:39Speaker 3: way to survive and live life. Man. And if that
- 16:43Speaker 3: means that, you know, you find a person that you
- 16:47Speaker 3: love and it enables you to be able to have
- 16:52Speaker 3: some semblance of happiness and joy, do it.
- 16:57Speaker 1: You know, and so you know what, I like the
- 17:00Speaker 1: way you put that, because when you think about it,
- 17:02Speaker 1: then a Jedi not being a Jedi, but going out
- 17:07Speaker 1: and establishing a normal life would be the ultimate act
- 17:11Speaker 1: of rebellion because it would guarantee the Jedi would continue,
- 17:15Speaker 1: because it's inevitable that somewhere along the way somebody the
- 17:22Speaker 1: forcewood rungs run strong in somebody's family, as it did
- 17:25Speaker 1: the Skywalker family. And so simply settling down and you know,
- 17:32Speaker 1: it's not even necessarily saying having kids, like let's turn
- 17:35Speaker 1: it away from that and be like, okay, let's accept
- 17:37Speaker 1: the JETI there wouldn't be a jet There might be
- 17:40Speaker 1: one Jedi that's like, oh I got to go out
- 17:41Speaker 1: and have as many kids as possible. But on the whole,
- 17:44Speaker 1: I accept what you're saying where it's like they got
- 17:46Speaker 1: to go into hiding. They're on the run constantly. Maybe
- 17:50Speaker 1: the best they can do is just go out and
- 17:53Speaker 1: just find a simple trade. If they find a family,
- 17:57Speaker 1: if they find an opportunity to have a family, great,
- 18:00Speaker 1: but if not, it's fine. Just going out and being
- 18:02Speaker 1: a fruit vendor somewhere is completely a feasible way to rebel,
- 18:07Speaker 1: and at least make sure that the spark doesn't go out,
- 18:10Speaker 1: and then if you truly believe in the will of
- 18:12Speaker 1: the Force, wherever you end up is going to be
- 18:15Speaker 1: where the Force says you should be. So maybe that's
- 18:17Speaker 1: the whole problem with thinking there as well. Is any
- 18:21Speaker 1: Jedi taking the action of forcing a situation by choosing
- 18:30Speaker 1: to do what balance Gold does, or this theoretical Jedi
- 18:33Speaker 1: who's going out and trying to have as many kids
- 18:35Speaker 1: as possible, that's actually a way of the dark Side
- 18:38Speaker 1: because you're exerting your will, You're not trusting in the
- 18:41Speaker 1: will of the Force. Even Obi Wan and Yoda, they
- 18:44Speaker 1: do not take action until the Force gives them the
- 18:47Speaker 1: signal that yep, you got to come out of retirement. Now.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Cain is the same way. Cain's completely in retirement and
- 18:53Speaker 1: then suddenly this kid pops into his life and it's like, oh, well,
- 18:57Speaker 1: maybe I am meant to do this, huh okay then right,
- 19:00Speaker 1: So it's like, maybe that's it. Maybe that's the whole
- 19:03Speaker 1: problem with the thesis. Is any Jedi going out there
- 19:06Speaker 1: and trying to force the solution or the opposite effect
- 19:14Speaker 1: of the Sith or something like that is falling into
- 19:16Speaker 1: the exact trap. They're trying to control the way the
- 19:19Speaker 1: galaxy goes, and the only way that you're going to
- 19:22Speaker 1: win is to let go and let the Force put
- 19:27Speaker 1: you where you need to be when you need to
- 19:29Speaker 1: be there. So even the Jedi going and seeking out
- 19:32Speaker 1: Obi Wan, that's a mistake. Did the Force tell you
- 19:35Speaker 1: to go out and seek Obi Wan? Or did you
- 19:37Speaker 1: act out of fear? Fears of the dark side. So
- 19:41Speaker 1: you know, maybe that in and of itself, any idea
- 19:43Speaker 1: like this is a bad idea because you're trying to
- 19:45Speaker 1: exert your own will on the Force.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Yeah. No, I think I absolutely love that. I think that.
- 19:52Speaker 3: I think one of the beauties of this question is
- 19:56Speaker 3: that we only see and we only get one character
- 20:02Speaker 3: that does this, and that that character that we see
- 20:05Speaker 3: is Canaan. And I think the beauty of that is
- 20:08Speaker 3: that Canaan is unique in the sense that, you know,
- 20:17Speaker 3: he is somebody who was a Padawan who survived mm hmm,
- 20:24Speaker 3: and he was not raised fully in the Jedi order,
- 20:32Speaker 3: and so him then choosing this course of action of
- 20:44Speaker 3: deciding to have a child and even just to have
- 20:50Speaker 3: a relationship, right is what allows him you know. I again,
- 20:55Speaker 3: I think that really comes down to the fact, hey,
- 20:57Speaker 3: he doesn't he he knows the Jedi code, he's raised
- 21:02Speaker 3: with the Jedi code, he's raised by the Jedi. But
- 21:05Speaker 3: you know, he's what twelve by the time or thirteen
- 21:09Speaker 3: or something like that by the time that the Jedi
- 21:12Speaker 3: Order becomes extinct.
- 21:14Speaker 1: And by the time that he meets four of the
- 21:16Speaker 1: greatest clones ever created.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Yeah, and so I think that's something that makes this
- 21:23Speaker 3: just really interesting. And one of the reasons that makes
- 21:27Speaker 3: it interesting is because, yeah, he chooses to have this
- 21:32Speaker 3: life and it's a really different thing than most of
- 21:36Speaker 3: the other Jedi, and I think it's just it creates
- 21:41Speaker 3: a really interesting opportunity. And I kind of wish I
- 21:44Speaker 3: think one of the things that I do wish we
- 21:48Speaker 3: got to see is just seemed more of this that
- 21:53Speaker 3: we had gotten to see, more of the opportunity for
- 21:58Speaker 3: you know, Canaan to to have kids and more Jedi
- 22:04Speaker 3: to have kids. I just think it would have been
- 22:06Speaker 3: really interesting. So but we don't get that, unfortunately, and
- 22:12Speaker 3: so you know, it's it's sad that that's the case,
- 22:16Speaker 3: but you know, I love it, you know, I just
- 22:20Speaker 3: kind of love that we get this one little snippet
- 22:24Speaker 3: of this happening, and it does make me wonder, you know,
- 22:27Speaker 3: are there other stories to tell like this?
- 22:29Speaker 1: Well, I definitely think there are. I mean that I
- 22:32Speaker 1: will remain convinced even though I accept your arguments that
- 22:34Speaker 1: there was at least one Jedi who went the way
- 22:38Speaker 1: of trying to be a forced lithario and create as
- 22:43Speaker 1: many progeny as possible in order to compensate for the
- 22:48Speaker 1: end of the Jedi. It just for some reason it
- 22:51Speaker 1: makes sense to me because I think that Order sixty six.
- 22:54Speaker 1: The opportunity is if they continue to tell stories of
- 22:57Speaker 1: Jedi impacted by Order sixty six. There are a lot
- 23:01Speaker 1: of opportunities because of the fact that a giant traumatic
- 23:04Speaker 1: event like that, there are so many different possible emotional
- 23:10Speaker 1: reactions to it. And it might even be really interesting
- 23:15Speaker 1: to see the story of somebody who doesn't align with
- 23:19Speaker 1: the Scyth or the Jedi, but goes completely like Ahsoka
- 23:23Speaker 1: winds up walking the true path. What if there is
- 23:27Speaker 1: an opposite end of that true path and just being
- 23:31Speaker 1: that counterbalancing force to Ahsoka out there because they took
- 23:34Speaker 1: Mall away from us, so Ahsoka is on the one
- 23:38Speaker 1: end of the spectrum I think it'd be really interesting
- 23:40Speaker 1: to see somebody on the flip side of that coin
- 23:43Speaker 1: who is neither Syth nor Jedi and walks the way
- 23:48Speaker 1: that the dark Side tells him to go, the true
- 23:50Speaker 1: way of the dark Side, and we therefore find out
- 23:53Speaker 1: the shortcomings, like we talked about in the Sith episode,
- 23:56Speaker 1: we find out the shortcomings of Palpatine Invader and how
- 24:00Speaker 1: even they weren't really following the true path of the
- 24:04Speaker 1: dark Side because they were exerting their own will you know,
- 24:07Speaker 1: because because we know about the world between worlds, we
- 24:10Speaker 1: know that there is a, yes, a completely different plane
- 24:13Speaker 1: of existence. In finding the true path for either side
- 24:18Speaker 1: involves all of this, all of this stuff. So I
- 24:21Speaker 1: don't know, maybe maybe that Lithario Jedi survivor is is
- 24:26Speaker 1: the one who's the flip side of the Ahsoka coin
- 24:29Speaker 1: who decides to uh try to tip the balance that
- 24:33Speaker 1: way or something. I don't know, it's possible, It's I.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Think it just was really interesting the question, and it
- 24:41Speaker 3: makes me wonder too, like did did was this one
- 24:45Speaker 3: of those things where too many Jedi It's it's not
- 24:48Speaker 3: just that, so you know, them trying to save themselves
- 24:51Speaker 3: is a big part of this, but that they are
- 24:58Speaker 3: maybe they were too entrenched in Jedi dogma to try to,
- 25:04Speaker 3: you know, do this, and so I think that's a
- 25:07Speaker 3: question as well.
- 25:08Speaker 1: So I don't know.
- 25:10Speaker 3: This is a fun question though, and I'm absolutely wondering
- 25:13Speaker 3: what the listeners think, John, of whether or not they
- 25:17Speaker 3: think that, you know, Jedi should have had tried to
- 25:20Speaker 3: have more shoulder. And so please write in, let us know,
- 25:23Speaker 3: let us know what you think, and hit us up

- 26:32Speaker 3: it's I think they're having you know, speed dating over
- 26:35Speaker 3: there at the Jedi Temple, So maybe it's time we
