- 2:39Speaker 4: because we ain't.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Have to shoot a hoop otoh. If y'all was here early,
- 2:41Speaker 3: I saw I.
- 2:42Speaker 5: Made a few, Yeah for sure.
- 2:46Speaker 2: So first we want to acknowledge a few people, but
- 2:50Speaker 2: we have to acknowledge the most important person we have.
- 2:52Speaker 5: But all through respect, listen to the podcast.
- 2:54Speaker 2: You know we always quote Jay all the time, so
- 2:57Speaker 2: we have to open this up with a Jay quote.
- 2:58Speaker 2: The most important person all through respect, I got Sharani.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Where is he here? Son? Do you have any Sharani.
- 3:06Speaker 5: From cognized nations?
- 3:08Speaker 3: Real folks, live nations. Shout out, Yeah, we appreciation for sure,

- 3:22Speaker 2: So next, we have to acknowledge our e Yo alumni
- 3:25Speaker 2: in the building. So we call our previous guests alumni
- 3:30Speaker 2: because you know, we have the e Yo University. So
- 3:32Speaker 2: it's a whole one song vibe.
- 3:33Speaker 3: That we're going with.
- 3:34Speaker 5: So MG, the mortgage guys, what up?
- 3:37Speaker 3: Manny? For sure? For sure? We started with that, but
- 3:43Speaker 3: we could have started with our first alumni this business.
- 3:45Speaker 3: What's up? What's up? For sure?
- 3:49Speaker 8: For sure?
- 3:50Speaker 2: My god, I asked Cash Funny the legend, Derek Falcon, let.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Me go through on Az my sister. My sister's here
- 4:03Speaker 3: the suit of the doctor. But Linca here playing what up?
- 4:05Speaker 3: What up? That's gos what up?
- 4:10Speaker 2: The King of wholesaleing himself, Max Maxwell, your legend?
- 4:15Speaker 7: Hey, and then boom boom boom right and right in
- 4:19Speaker 7: front of us is being the purpose of going your
- 4:21Speaker 7: Auditorney what?
- 4:26Speaker 3: Yes?
- 4:26Speaker 2: I also at my acknowledge Andrey Hatchet, I think he's
- 4:28Speaker 2: his well e y l University. That's how luka he
- 4:32Speaker 2: kicked it off.
- 4:33Speaker 5: And if he kicked it up, he was the first
- 4:34Speaker 5: professor that we have.
- 4:35Speaker 3: For the YO University Christ class plus, so thank you.
- 4:39Speaker 3: We appreciate you. Bro.
- 4:40Speaker 5: With nobody else that I left out right, don't finish
- 4:44Speaker 5: all right? All right?
- 4:45Speaker 9: All right?
- 4:46Speaker 2: So yeah, so we're gonna get it going. We're gonna
- 4:48Speaker 2: have three So how we when we decided to do this.
- 4:51Speaker 2: We had a couple of different ideas, but we like,
- 4:52Speaker 2: you know what.
- 4:53Speaker 5: We might as well.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Everybody here obviously is a loyal support of the podcast,
- 4:57Speaker 2: so I'm assuming that everybody here has listened to fully
- 5:00Speaker 2: every episode or at the very least most episodes, so
- 5:04Speaker 2: everybody kind of has like a favorite episode or somebody
- 5:06Speaker 2: that they really like. And you know, so we said, Okay,
- 5:09Speaker 2: since we're gonna be in DC and a lot of
- 5:12Speaker 2: our alumni coming through, why don't we instead of bringing
- 5:15Speaker 2: somebody new that we haven't had on right for the
- 5:17Speaker 2: first time, because we haven't repeated yes yet for the
- 5:19Speaker 2: first time, I don't we have a reunion in a
- 5:23Speaker 2: sense and bring some some of the previous alumni on
- 5:27Speaker 2: to speak. So we have three alumni for you guys,
- 5:30Speaker 2: and we're gonna have a conversation with them, and then
- 5:34Speaker 2: we're gonna open up the question and answers for a
- 5:37Speaker 2: couple of minutes and then yeah, we're gonna do it
- 5:39Speaker 2: like that.
- 5:39Speaker 3: We're gonna rock out.
- 5:40Speaker 7: We're gonna talk about this duy l effect. It started
- 5:42Speaker 7: out as a thing and now it's turned into a
- 5:44Speaker 7: full bowl campaign.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Man shout out to everybody, It's Kenned Ken.
- 5:47Speaker 5: Where you at?
- 5:48Speaker 7: Man?
- 5:49Speaker 3: What's Kenned from? Ken? What up? So Ken? Actually that's
- 5:52Speaker 3: my man from Detroit hit us. He was like, Yo,
- 5:54Speaker 3: y'all need a name for the people who low supporters.
- 5:56Speaker 3: And he was like, y'all got one for y'all, So
- 5:58Speaker 3: shout out to Ken. The earners came from Ken. Whatever
- 6:02Speaker 3: one man can and that man appreciate each other.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Yeah, So, but out without further ado, we're gonna bring
- 6:08Speaker 2: our first guest up, Ashcash Ash Cash, if you haven't
- 6:12Speaker 2: listen to his episode episode selling Shiit a smid This
- 6:15Speaker 2: this service. One of Ashcash is ill man because we
- 6:21Speaker 2: at a lot of guests come on ey L and
- 6:22Speaker 2: they provide a lot of information, but we always say
- 6:25Speaker 2: it's not just about perceiving the information, it's about actually
- 6:27Speaker 2: actually using the information. So when Ash came on, he
- 6:31Speaker 2: he talked about a couple of different topics, but when
- 6:33Speaker 2: he spoke about books, he talked about how to self
- 6:36Speaker 2: publish a book. He gave the whole entire blueprint and
- 6:38Speaker 2: it was so crazy because Yeah, me and Troy had
- 6:43Speaker 2: a meeting afterwards and we started writing our book literally
- 6:47Speaker 2: like off of everything he said like we listened to
- 6:51Speaker 2: fifteen minutes of what he said and like kept rewinding it,
- 6:54Speaker 2: like Okay, we gotta do this, ok pause it, hold on,
- 6:56Speaker 2: we gotta do that. And like literally we took everything
- 6:59Speaker 2: he told us and that's what we're currently doing right now.
- 7:03Speaker 5: So Ashcash is dope.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Man.
- 7:05Speaker 2: If you haven't heard his story, he was the youngest
- 7:08Speaker 2: CEO for a credit union.
- 7:10Speaker 5: In the United States of America, right when you were
- 7:14Speaker 5: thirty one years old.
- 7:14Speaker 3: We gotta tell hm where he from? The first bro
- 7:17Speaker 3: hall them.
- 7:17Speaker 9: That's why I had maybe I'm from from Hall of
- 7:20Speaker 9: n y C St. Nicholas Project exactly.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Just so you know, I'm clear.
- 7:24Speaker 9: I'm not from Posimity, New Jersey. I don't know about
- 7:28Speaker 9: no disrespect, but I'm from a hall of up from
- 7:30Speaker 9: a hunting nine Street home on the Ustlers to be clear.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know I gave I gave him,
- 7:38Speaker 3: I gave him my Michael. He doesn't need to need
- 7:40Speaker 3: a micro That's a fact. That's really a fact that
- 7:43Speaker 3: I was.
- 7:43Speaker 7: That's that's the fact that we had. When we finished recording,
- 7:45Speaker 7: I was like, Yo, how do we turn down?
- 7:48Speaker 3: Because we was still edit. I'm like the boys and
- 7:51Speaker 3: dads and the actually heard of us Ben absolutely because
- 7:55Speaker 3: it's no mike check.
- 7:58Speaker 2: It's crazy because a lot of times people come on
- 8:00Speaker 2: and they talk low, so we always have to do
- 8:02Speaker 2: sound checks and it's like, you know, you can you
- 8:04Speaker 2: raise your voice a little higher. So when he came on,
- 8:07Speaker 2: we did the sound check and he he plew the
- 8:08Speaker 2: speakers out because boy of love this, and it was
- 8:12Speaker 2: it was like, d You're like, you're the first guests
- 8:14Speaker 2: were like you might just have to talk them in
- 8:15Speaker 2: this a little bit after my parents was like.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Yo, who was that up? How about all the way
- 8:20Speaker 3: about it? Good guy? Good guy?
- 8:22Speaker 7: Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:22Speaker 2: So he was the youngest credit ceo credit Union Queens
- 8:26Speaker 2: bridged projects right in the country and he did that
- 8:30Speaker 2: and when he worked on the inside of the bank,
- 8:32Speaker 2: he was telling us it was really dope. And it's
- 8:33Speaker 2: like he got to see firsthand a lot of stuff
- 8:36Speaker 2: that we speak about. Most people, especially in our community,
- 8:39Speaker 2: they're never going to be preppy to see unfortunately, but
- 8:42Speaker 2: being a CEO of a of a financial institution.
- 8:45Speaker 3: He got to see like how wealthy people work, and like.
- 8:48Speaker 2: When you go to conferences and stuff like that, work
- 8:49Speaker 2: with your colleagues and you so like they have teams
- 8:52Speaker 2: of people at thanks and so many different stuff that
- 8:55Speaker 2: it kind of opened your eyes and you realize that
- 8:58Speaker 2: in order to really really do a certain is you
- 9:00Speaker 2: really had to educate people. So he became an entrepreneur.
- 9:05Speaker 2: He's wrote like like eleven.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Books, eleven books, but eight with my name on it,
- 9:10Speaker 3: like Ghostrike to Cray.
- 9:14Speaker 9: I got eight eight books in total. Four of them
- 9:17Speaker 9: have been bestsellers. I sell. I sell a lot of
- 9:21Speaker 9: books I make as an independent, uh you know, self
- 9:25Speaker 9: published author.
- 9:26Speaker 3: I make at least four figures of.
- 9:27Speaker 9: Month books.
- 9:29Speaker 3: That Hustle Nomois was the last one.
- 9:31Speaker 8: Yeah, Hustleonamous was the last one, you know, you know,
- 9:33Speaker 8: Resting Peas Nissy also got my Nancy Blue on today.
- 9:37Speaker 9: And Hustle Onami is actually a book that I did
- 9:38Speaker 9: for free. So like if you go to Hustle nomics
- 9:41Speaker 9: dot com you got actually just downld no.
- 9:42Speaker 3: Reason I shouldn't have it.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Yeah, So I wanted to talk about because were gonna
- 9:46Speaker 2: talk about some mindset stuff, yes, but first I wanted
- 9:48Speaker 2: to talk about the book industry because I don't fully
- 9:51Speaker 2: think that people value information enough, and especially when it
- 9:56Speaker 2: comes to the books, right, because it's like a lot
- 9:59Speaker 2: of times it's so cheap, Like fifteen dollars can change
- 10:03Speaker 2: your life, right, right if you think about it, like
- 10:05Speaker 2: you can fully educate you. So yeah, I really want
- 10:08Speaker 2: you to talk about the power of being an author
- 10:11Speaker 2: and the freedom of the freedom that you like, the
- 10:13Speaker 2: freedom that.
- 10:14Speaker 5: It gives you to give you a message out to
- 10:15Speaker 5: the world.
- 10:16Speaker 9: Now for sure, I think what people don't realize is
- 10:18Speaker 9: that even if you have a million dollars worth of information,
- 10:22Speaker 9: if you charge a million dollars, you're gonna miss the
- 10:24Speaker 9: people that actually need the information, right. And so what
- 10:27Speaker 9: the book does for me and for everybody else, it's
- 10:30Speaker 9: a low entry point to show people all of your knowledge, right,
- 10:34Speaker 9: and it's.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Something to build your legacy.
- 10:36Speaker 9: Like a lot of times we talk about wealth, we
- 10:37Speaker 9: talk about our legacy as it being how much money
- 10:40Speaker 9: you have what you're passing down. But your knowledge is
- 10:43Speaker 9: wealth in itself, right, And so I think a book
- 10:46Speaker 9: is something that's going to live forever. Like I said
- 10:48Speaker 9: this on my Instagram the other day, I read Think
- 10:50Speaker 9: and Grow Rich every single year. Every year I read
- 10:54Speaker 9: that book every year. You know, Napoleon Hill has been
- 10:56Speaker 9: dead for.
- 10:56Speaker 3: God knows how long.
- 10:57Speaker 9: The book came out in the late twenties, thirties, nineteen twenties,
- 11:01Speaker 9: nineteen thirties, and I still read it. It's still aftable,
- 11:05Speaker 9: and so it's you know, books are one of those
- 11:07Speaker 9: things that can.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Make your message go viral. It can make your message,
- 11:11Speaker 3: you know, spread wide.
- 11:12Speaker 9: Like I mean, people who read my book don't even
- 11:14Speaker 9: know it's me, right, because at the end of the day,
- 11:16Speaker 9: if you if you have knowledge and you package it
- 11:20Speaker 9: in a way that people need, people will find that information.
- 11:23Speaker 3: But what it does is it opens up their mind.
- 11:25Speaker 3: And the book is just the industry rate.
- 11:27Speaker 9: Now, once you have the book, if you connect with
- 11:29Speaker 9: the person, you're gonna want to hire them to speak,
- 11:31Speaker 9: You're gonna want to hire them to consult, You're gonna want.
- 11:33Speaker 3: To hire them to do whatever they do.
- 11:35Speaker 9: And so for me, I think everybody, if you're an entrepreneur,
- 11:38Speaker 9: if you whatever, if you got breathing your body.
- 11:40Speaker 3: You should be writing a book because people need to
- 11:42Speaker 3: know your story. You didn't go through your story just
- 11:45Speaker 3: to hold onto that story.
- 11:46Speaker 8: You have that knowledge and you don't got to be
- 11:48Speaker 8: famous either, Like it's not about fame. And that's a
- 11:50Speaker 8: lot of times, like I speak to people, they're like yoah,
- 11:52Speaker 8: I can't wait or I'm gonna wait until I get
- 11:54Speaker 8: to XYZ level to write my book. Non, like you
- 11:57Speaker 8: got knowledge today that.
- 11:59Speaker 9: You that people actually benefit from that you need to
- 12:01Speaker 9: give that back, Like you you went through your adversity.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Because you needed to help somebody, right, Like you need
- 12:08Speaker 3: to be that credible message.
- 12:09Speaker 9: That like the reason why if I even put the
- 12:12Speaker 9: smike down nobody the reason why I start off my story.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Every day that I am from Harlem and.
- 12:20Speaker 9: I am from Saint Nigga's projects because there are a
- 12:22Speaker 9: million I've never so dope, there's a million people out
- 12:27Speaker 9: there with my similar story who only see entertainers, who
- 12:31Speaker 9: only see rappers, who only see certain you know, different
- 12:34Speaker 9: types of people and believe that's the only route to
- 12:36Speaker 9: be successful.
- 12:37Speaker 3: I was a VP at the largest financial institution in.
- 12:41Speaker 9: The world at twenty four years old. They told me
- 12:44Speaker 9: I was gonna be dead by twenty five. They said
- 12:46Speaker 9: I'll be dinner in jail by twenty five. But instead
- 12:49Speaker 9: I was a VP at one of the largest financial.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Institutions in the world, and people need to hear that.
- 12:55Speaker 9: And so my story, can't you know, like like like
- 12:58Speaker 9: similar to why I felt obligated to write Hustle knowledge, right,
- 13:02Speaker 9: because everybody's gonna remember Nipsey Hustle for his music if
- 13:06Speaker 9: what he's done, But he's done way more than that,
- 13:09Speaker 9: and his legacy on business, on ownership, on how to
- 13:13Speaker 9: actually like when he talks about an ecosystem and you
- 13:16Speaker 9: need an ecosystem, like how you build products around what
- 13:19Speaker 9: you're doing, Like people need to unders what is an ecosystem?
- 13:21Speaker 3: Need to understand that. And his legacy can't dive with
- 13:24Speaker 3: him and how do you get that that message out
- 13:25Speaker 3: to the masses.
- 13:26Speaker 7: Right about there you have people question whether he's a
- 13:28Speaker 7: legends everybody. They're always thinking about the music, right, and
- 13:31Speaker 7: his impact is way.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Bigger than the music. One of the things you talked
- 13:33Speaker 3: about when you were making it. But is the process?
- 13:35Speaker 3: A lot of times when I talk to people a
- 13:37Speaker 3: lot and they're like, yo, I don't have time, I
- 13:39Speaker 3: don't have time. But I'm like, do you have a phone?
- 13:41Speaker 10: Right?
- 13:41Speaker 7: And the process is really quick man, because like all
- 13:44Speaker 7: you're doing is besting records, say those people using their
- 13:46Speaker 7: phone anyway, what you're stuck in drafting if you at
- 13:48Speaker 7: your desk, you're putting chapters.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Out there every single day. Every conversation is a chapter.
- 13:54Speaker 9: Nah, and it's crazy, right, So I think the biggest
- 13:57Speaker 9: thing is, well, people need to realize is that your
- 14:00Speaker 9: book could be written in a month like I putting
- 14:03Speaker 9: out I'm putting.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Out books top you.
- 14:04Speaker 9: Know, you know, top to bottom in two months or less,
- 14:07Speaker 9: and their quality right, so they're.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Not BS books. But what you gotta realize I did this.
- 14:10Speaker 9: Yesterday at a workshop, right, I asked somebody to tell
- 14:13Speaker 9: me about their business, or take a pen and write
- 14:16Speaker 9: about their business in sixty seconds.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Could not do it. Right, Then I said, yo, tell
- 14:21Speaker 3: me about your business. They get it in thirteen seconds.
- 14:24Speaker 3: So think about that. You write, you write down. You
- 14:26Speaker 3: cannot write because.
- 14:27Speaker 9: From your head to your body, to your fingers and
- 14:30Speaker 9: all that, it's like you're gonna miss some of the thoughts.
- 14:33Speaker 3: But as you're talking, the thoughts go fluidly from the
- 14:36Speaker 3: brain to the mouth and out.
- 14:37Speaker 9: And so that's not saying do not write a book,
- 14:40Speaker 9: dictate it. I dictate the whole book. I won't so,
- 14:43Speaker 9: so so it starts with the.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Outline, or that's the most important. You can't just start
- 14:47Speaker 3: the talk.
- 14:47Speaker 9: What you need to do is whatever story you have,
- 14:49Speaker 9: start with the end in mind, say, what is it
- 14:51Speaker 9: that I want people to know about about this information.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Or this topic that I'm doing, And now this is
- 14:57Speaker 3: the end. I'm gonna start with the end in mind.
- 14:58Speaker 3: I'm gonna go, I'm gonna work back backwards, right.
- 15:01Speaker 9: I'm gonna take every you know, each different subject, a topic,
- 15:04Speaker 9: I'm gonna outline it, outline and outline it, take some
- 15:07Speaker 9: bullet points around it.
- 15:08Speaker 3: And then literally, once you.
- 15:09Speaker 9: Have to outline, pretend like you tapping the conversation and
- 15:12Speaker 9: you're talking to somebody and you're telling them about that
- 15:15Speaker 9: that information, and as you do that, like literally ten
- 15:18Speaker 9: hours of like talking is a whole book. Right, The
- 15:23Speaker 9: hardest part of writing a book is done in ten hours. Now,
- 15:27Speaker 9: you go to Fiverr, you go to upwork, you go
- 15:29Speaker 9: to whoever you find.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Somebody not yet let's leak that out. They come me
- 15:35Speaker 3: and check that. But you go to you go to
- 15:37Speaker 3: one of these services and you have them transcribing for you.
- 15:40Speaker 3: And then the rest of history.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Yeah, and it actually that's what really encouraged us to
- 15:44Speaker 2: write because like me personally.
- 15:45Speaker 3: I always like to rank.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Yet but I'm not writing one hundred pages, all right,
- 15:50Speaker 2: three paragraphs, But if I could talk. It's like a
- 15:55Speaker 2: podcast is like half a book, just let us talking.
- 15:58Speaker 2: So that's that's really dope. And the one thing I
- 16:01Speaker 2: like about books also people don't realize it like a
- 16:03Speaker 2: business Robert cows House. Right, So if if everybody knows
- 16:07Speaker 2: about Rich Dad, Poor Dad, that book. I read that
- 16:09Speaker 2: book when I was like eighteen seventeen years old. He's
- 16:12Speaker 2: eaten off of that book still twenty five years later.
- 16:16Speaker 5: It's like new versions. He goes on tour the Rich
- 16:19Speaker 5: Dad for kids of this year, right, you know, saying
- 16:22Speaker 5: it's like rich Dad in China.
- 16:24Speaker 9: Like it's like so many.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Different coursions, like you're learning to talk about like having
- 16:28Speaker 2: a system to duplicate yourself.
- 16:30Speaker 3: He literally did one thing and it's gonna eat off of.
- 16:33Speaker 5: That for one hundred years.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Yo, big facts.
- 16:35Speaker 9: Right. So I wrote mind Right, Money Right, ten loos
- 16:38Speaker 9: of Financial Freedom in December fifth, two thousand and.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Doins I make money to this day ten years later.
- 16:43Speaker 3: That's my first book. Ten years later, I still make money.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Go for that book.
- 16:47Speaker 9: Because what happens is is if you've never heard of
- 16:49Speaker 9: ashcash before, you're gonna do your googles. You're gonna be
- 16:52Speaker 9: like who is this guy that's always yelling?
- 16:54Speaker 3: And then you're gonna look, right, and so you're gonna
- 16:56Speaker 3: you're gonna look and what's probably gonna pop up versus
- 16:58Speaker 3: mind right? Money right. You're not gonna get the date
- 17:00Speaker 3: that it came out. You're gonna read what it's about,
- 17:02Speaker 3: and you're gonna be like, oh, let me check this out. First.
- 17:04Speaker 9: You're gonna check it out, and then I'm gonna get
- 17:05Speaker 9: a check cut man, right, and so and so.
- 17:08Speaker 3: I'm I'm a big believer.
- 17:09Speaker 9: And honestly, that's that's been my biggest thing around books,
- 17:13Speaker 9: is that I'm a big believer in mailbox money right.
- 17:15Speaker 9: I don't believe And we talked about mindset, right, I
- 17:18Speaker 9: don't believe.
- 17:19Speaker 3: That, especially us as a people, that we understand the
- 17:22Speaker 3: money game. The money game is not to work hard
- 17:24Speaker 3: for money. It's not the money game.
- 17:26Speaker 9: The money game is money needs to work hard for you,
- 17:29Speaker 9: So change your relationship with money. If you're like me
- 17:31Speaker 9: who did not come from money, then yes, you're gonna
- 17:34Speaker 9: have to grind. You're gonna have to grind to make
- 17:36Speaker 9: the money. Right, But once you make the money, don't
- 17:39Speaker 9: make the don't allow that money to buy you the
- 17:41Speaker 9: things money should not buy you things money should buy
- 17:44Speaker 9: you income producing assets. Those income producing assets is what
- 17:47Speaker 9: should be buying you to things, right. And so I
- 17:49Speaker 9: think that's what you know, what books do for me? Right,
- 17:52Speaker 9: Because when when I was at a point where I
- 17:55Speaker 9: was always working hard for money, I had to I
- 17:57Speaker 9: had to hustle, career, hustling, like you know, I got
- 17:59Speaker 9: a great resume.
- 18:00Speaker 3: Let me see who can painting six figures?
- 18:01Speaker 9: Let me do you?
- 18:02Speaker 3: Now, I'm trying to say, but but but now I
- 18:03Speaker 3: don't have time freedom.
- 18:05Speaker 9: And so now I say, you know what, I'm gonna
- 18:06Speaker 9: use this money, and I'm about real estate, but I'm
- 18:09Speaker 9: gonna buy I'm gonna buy a multi.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Family house and I'm gonna rank that out. And then
- 18:14Speaker 3: the money that I make for that is passing. So
- 18:16Speaker 3: now I got a little bit of freedom.
- 18:17Speaker 9: So now when I needed a job to family six
- 18:20Speaker 9: figures to match my lifestyle, now because I got rental income,
- 18:22Speaker 9: I don't.
- 18:23Speaker 3: I don't need six figures no more. I'm not I'm
- 18:25Speaker 3: not fully financially agree, but I mean I could take
- 18:27Speaker 3: fifty thousand, all right.
- 18:28Speaker 9: Let me let me get this little job to take
- 18:31Speaker 9: fifty thousand and forty thousand with less responsibility. So now
- 18:34Speaker 9: I can focus on on my grind, and so now
- 18:37Speaker 9: I write books, and so eight books later, I brought
- 18:41Speaker 9: a middle figure up.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Because I need your job.
- 18:45Speaker 8: Between between my my what I'm getting in rental income
- 18:49Speaker 8: and my book income.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Everything I do, I choose, I don't. I don't work
- 18:52Speaker 3: with no one that I don't like. You got your
- 18:54Speaker 3: most doutle askt right most of my time. So I
- 18:58Speaker 3: do not work for nobody I don't like. Like.
- 19:01Speaker 9: I get a lot of great opportunities, right, I don't
- 19:04Speaker 9: care if it's on the serpents, if it feels like
- 19:07Speaker 9: it looked like it could help me. If I don't
- 19:09Speaker 9: like you, if your vibe is all, I'm good. But
- 19:12Speaker 9: because I got you know, financial freedom and town freedom,
- 19:15Speaker 9: I can make that decision. And from a mindset perspective,
- 19:18Speaker 9: you actually get to the bad caster when you do that, right,
- 19:22Speaker 9: Because when you feel good about what you're doing and
- 19:24Speaker 9: you're not you not doing it for money, You're doing.
- 19:27Speaker 3: It because you love it. You're not in yo yo yo,
- 19:33Speaker 3: you know mass like that. It's Sunday baby, yea lease
- 19:39Speaker 3: fertin be about to have.
- 19:44Speaker 5: I told you.
- 19:46Speaker 3: I'm sorry, about I told you man, Yeah, well you
- 19:51Speaker 3: know what.
- 19:52Speaker 5: I love what he said because it's so true too.
- 19:54Speaker 2: It's like when you when you're under pressure, you always
- 19:56Speaker 2: make bad decisions. You can't fully think straight right and
- 19:59Speaker 2: press in life, But financial pressure it's the same. Like
- 20:02Speaker 2: when you it feels different when you have money coming
- 20:05Speaker 2: in and you don't have to do something, it feels different,
- 20:07Speaker 2: like you feel better as a person. It's like when
- 20:10Speaker 2: you can say no, because most of the times you
- 20:12Speaker 2: can't say no absolutely financially. It's like and now at
- 20:14Speaker 2: that point you're more of a slave.
- 20:16Speaker 3: You're not.
- 20:16Speaker 2: You don't really have the freedom to say I want
- 20:18Speaker 2: to do this, this doesn't align with my brand, And like, I.
- 20:21Speaker 5: Like what you said too. Is that a lot of
- 20:23Speaker 5: times it's not just about being an entrepreneur quitting your job, right.
- 20:28Speaker 5: We talked about it on the podcast as well.
- 20:30Speaker 2: It's like, look, you know, you build the pyramid, won't
- 20:33Speaker 2: breaking the time, so you don't necessarily.
- 20:35Speaker 5: Have to just jump out the porch right away.
- 20:37Speaker 2: You can keep your job, but work your side hustle
- 20:40Speaker 2: sure by one home, by two homes, and then before
- 20:43Speaker 2: you know it, now you have one thousand, two thousand
- 20:45Speaker 2: and three thousand and four thousand a month coming in. Now,
- 20:47Speaker 2: it's like you're in a better position, right. A lot
- 20:49Speaker 2: of times people feel like it's about home runs right now,
- 20:52Speaker 2: and you know what.
- 20:53Speaker 3: It is though, too.
- 20:53Speaker 9: And I'm glad you said that, because I feel like
- 20:56Speaker 9: social media especially has made like entrepreneurship sex and people
- 21:00Speaker 9: don't even.
- 21:01Speaker 3: Understand what it takes.
- 21:02Speaker 9: Like I'm literally, even to this day average three to
- 21:05Speaker 9: four hours to sleep though, right, And so entrepreneurship is
- 21:09Speaker 9: not sexy. And so when you even if you go
- 21:11Speaker 9: from a psychological perspective, you know, you know Mascow's higargy
- 21:15Speaker 9: of needs. If you have to worry about the basic necessities,
- 21:18Speaker 9: the mind space that you have to actually even be
- 21:22Speaker 9: an entrepreneur, you know, in a full capacity.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Is not even there. And so you have to make
- 21:27Speaker 3: sure you take care that basic need first.
- 21:30Speaker 9: So now if you're not worried about money, now you
- 21:32Speaker 9: can actually really really focus on your creativity on deals
- 21:37Speaker 9: that make sense, on business fools that make sense as
- 21:39Speaker 9: an entrepreneur.
- 21:40Speaker 3: And so stop looking at.
- 21:43Speaker 9: Social media and seeing these people who you may look
- 21:46Speaker 9: like they're doing well or whatever the case may be.
- 21:48Speaker 9: Like I remember watching something where some dude who had
- 21:51Speaker 9: two million followers was like, YO had two million follows
- 21:54Speaker 9: and I was growth, right.
- 21:55Speaker 8: And so stop stop equating fame and what you know
- 21:59Speaker 8: about somebody with money, Like I know literally I know
- 22:02Speaker 8: multi millionaires who have one follower.
- 22:05Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 22:05Speaker 9: Saying, so it has nothing to do with with your
- 22:07Speaker 9: follow account. It has everything to do with what makes
- 22:11Speaker 9: sense for your particular situation. I don't watch anybody's stories.
- 22:15Speaker 3: I don't look at all right, this is this person's story.
- 22:17Speaker 9: And maybe if I did it that way, I do
- 22:19Speaker 9: what feels good to me, was true to me, and
- 22:22Speaker 9: so I follow my path.
- 22:23Speaker 3: I say, all right, this is my voice, this is
- 22:25Speaker 3: my path.
- 22:25Speaker 9: This is where I'm going, This makes sense to me financially,
- 22:28Speaker 9: or this doesn't make sense to me financially. So I
- 22:31Speaker 9: think anybody out there who is thinking about that entrepreneurial journey,
- 22:35Speaker 9: don't necessarily, you know, quit your job, especially if you
- 22:38Speaker 9: quitting your job.
- 22:39Speaker 3: And don't want your numbers too right.
- 22:40Speaker 9: And I think that's another thing, is that like how
- 22:42Speaker 9: much money is it gonna take.
- 22:44Speaker 3: For you to live?
- 22:45Speaker 11: Right?
- 22:45Speaker 3: How much money do you need? A monk? Like you
- 22:47Speaker 3: need to know all those numbers, and.
- 22:48Speaker 9: So if it does not make sense from a part, right,
- 22:51Speaker 9: men live women line numbers don't right, and so if
- 22:54Speaker 9: it doesn't make sense financially, then and you don't have
- 22:57Speaker 9: a plan, they.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Don't do it. That's one of the things, right. I've
- 23:00Speaker 3: asked that to people. It's like, Yo, how much is
- 23:02Speaker 3: going of course you to have your freedom? Right? Trapper
- 23:04Speaker 3: said that to us, Right, So I just started asking
- 23:05Speaker 3: people that they couldn't answer me. They're like, get back
- 23:07Speaker 3: to me next week. I'm like, next week, how much
- 23:09Speaker 3: counts you get your freedom? Can't answer.
- 23:11Speaker 7: They haven't got to police because they're so busy doing this.
- 23:13Speaker 3: And that's true. I'm a living testament to it. Right.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Working in one environment right in the inner city schools
- 23:17Speaker 3: in New York City was like, I don't think I
- 23:20Speaker 3: could have done a podcast.
- 23:21Speaker 7: Right because I was busy dealing with being a psychologists,
- 23:24Speaker 7: a school counselor, all from.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Being a physics user. Right.
- 23:26Speaker 7: As soon as I left that environment, I saw the
- 23:28Speaker 7: creativity in myself, like.
- 23:30Speaker 3: I'm living testament to it.
- 23:31Speaker 7: And I was like, yo, I could be creative to
- 23:32Speaker 7: think this, this, this, and now I can create multiple
- 23:35Speaker 7: streams because my mom's free exactly.
- 23:38Speaker 5: And also you said, I like when you said the.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Podcast like one famous creating another stream for you because.
- 23:44Speaker 3: The books, the books give you field.
- 23:46Speaker 5: The ability, right, and the visibility. Now you get booked for.
- 23:49Speaker 9: Speaking against absolutely how much booking Welcome to the warty.
- 23:56Speaker 9: He was like, yeah, so my my right.
- 24:01Speaker 3: So with big conferences I get ten thousand dollars for
- 24:04Speaker 3: half an hour though, right, So y'all gonna stay for half.
- 24:07Speaker 9: An hour and I get ten bigs from books though,
- 24:10Speaker 9: And that's what I'm trying to say, right, Like, like,
- 24:12Speaker 9: nobody's gonna give me ten thousand dollars if they never
- 24:15Speaker 9: heard of me before them, right, nobody's gonna be so
- 24:18Speaker 9: so so it's so the people who cut the ten
- 24:20Speaker 9: thousand dollars checks, you know what they're gonna do. They're
- 24:21Speaker 9: gonna do that Google's they're gonna google, and they're gonna
- 24:24Speaker 9: they're gonna google your name.
- 24:26Speaker 3: If you google ass exances, that's my real name.
- 24:29Speaker 9: If you google ass cash, you see, And so you're like, oh, right,
- 24:33Speaker 9: this dude is worth ten thousand dollars and and and
- 24:36Speaker 9: truth be told, twenty twenty.
- 24:37Speaker 3: At numbers going up. Right, he's a place, you know,
- 24:44Speaker 3: what I'm saying.
- 24:45Speaker 7: Like yeah, yeah, so you after when you're speaking, Yeah,
- 24:49Speaker 7: I know you've got the table out, So.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Sell the books to yo. So I did.
- 24:52Speaker 9: I did one of my biggest events UH this year
- 24:56Speaker 9: was at UH in Atlanta, UH with TDJS with Doctor
- 25:00Speaker 9: can Roll Black Enterprise. Fifteen hundred people you know what
- 25:02Speaker 9: I mean, like killed it right, Yo. It is the
- 25:05Speaker 9: first time ever I sold out books.
- 25:07Speaker 3: And I was so upset that I didn't bring enough
- 25:09Speaker 3: books because normally I'm like, all right, in the in
- 25:11Speaker 3: the you know, in a thousand dollars, they.
- 25:15Speaker 9: You know what I'm saying, Like like in the in
- 25:16Speaker 9: the in the in the one thousand speaking engagement, the
- 25:19Speaker 9: three thousand speaking engagement, I mightself five to ten books.
- 25:21Speaker 9: I'm like, I'm not carrying all these books at two
- 25:24Speaker 9: hundred books and sold them out and I was like, yo, right,
- 25:27Speaker 9: the dude who had five hundred books sold them out.
- 25:29Speaker 9: So and that's the other thing, right, is that from
- 25:32Speaker 9: a stage, respective the bigger the stage to.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Eat, y'all.
- 25:35Speaker 9: I promise you, the higher you get, the easier the
- 25:38Speaker 9: money comes.
- 25:38Speaker 3: I promised you.
- 25:39Speaker 9: Right, And so people who paid one thousand dollars to
- 25:42Speaker 9: come into a to a workshop. Is not gonna sneeze that,
- 25:45Speaker 9: you know, buy a ten dollar book. They're gonna they're
- 25:47Speaker 9: gonna buy actually, gonna buy three.
- 25:49Speaker 3: And that's how I sold out. Actually they were looking
- 25:51Speaker 3: at the book. They're like, oh my cousin, oh my nephew.
- 25:54Speaker 9: Up, and they'll buy three at a time. Right, you
- 25:56Speaker 9: know what I'm saying, Great Christmas and so and so
- 25:59Speaker 9: you know, like.
- 25:59Speaker 10: Like and that.
- 26:00Speaker 9: The other thing about mindset, I want us everybody to
- 26:03Speaker 9: start just thinking at a higher level, right, because a
- 26:06Speaker 9: lot of times because what you see, like you might
- 26:09Speaker 9: be looking straight and because of what you see, that's
- 26:12Speaker 9: only your possibility, right, And so you're like, yo, this.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Is no, this is it. I'm working on this.
- 26:17Speaker 9: And you are in the how business, right, but how
- 26:19Speaker 9: is none of your business?
- 26:21Speaker 3: Right, You're into what business?
- 26:22Speaker 9: You need to tell the universe, God or loved food
- 26:24Speaker 9: or whatever you believe it, tell them what you want.
- 26:28Speaker 9: But then the how is none of your business.
- 26:30Speaker 3: And that's what happened with me. Like at one two point,
- 26:32Speaker 3: I was like, yo, you like I actually jumped from
- 26:34Speaker 3: five grand and tan grand.
- 26:35Speaker 9: I was like, yo, I'm gonna go from five grand,
- 26:38Speaker 9: I'm gonna double my feet right, like, how I'm gonna
- 26:40Speaker 9: do that? But then when I got rid of that,
- 26:42Speaker 9: I was just like, nah, I started now put a
- 26:43Speaker 9: real together.
- 26:44Speaker 3: I started look at.
- 26:45Speaker 9: I saw hyping myself up. I started looking at all
- 26:47Speaker 9: the times I was on television all the time I
- 26:48Speaker 9: did this. I'm like, yo, bro, you you're pretty dope man.
- 26:51Speaker 9: You probably you know what I'm saying.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Everything. I'm like, hey, hold on, I need that. Gran'm
- 26:56Speaker 3: gonna need that.
- 26:57Speaker 9: And so I said, no, you know what, I'm not
- 26:58Speaker 9: gonna worry about the hell. I'm gonna just say, Yo,
- 27:00Speaker 9: this is what I want. I'm gonna put it out
- 27:02Speaker 9: there and I'm gonna do the work though, right, So
- 27:03Speaker 9: it's not just like, oh, i'm a wish, I want
- 27:05Speaker 9: ten grand and that's it.
- 27:06Speaker 3: Now.
- 27:07Speaker 9: I'm gonna put it out there, but I'm also gonna
- 27:09Speaker 9: do the work to make sure that the people who
- 27:12Speaker 9: could give me ten grand for speeches can see that
- 27:15Speaker 9: my visibility is up there. And when I did that,
- 27:18Speaker 9: the ten grand was back there, and so I'm looking
- 27:21Speaker 9: up here.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Like yo, we're a ten grand at but it's right there,
- 27:23Speaker 3: and it's actually right behind me. So if I they
- 27:26Speaker 3: just did about place, I have seen it, you know.
- 27:28Speaker 8: So that's the thing I think that for us, we
- 27:30Speaker 8: got to understand true from a mindset perspective, like get
- 27:33Speaker 8: out of.
- 27:34Speaker 3: The how business? How is none of your business? Put
- 27:37Speaker 3: the vision out there right understand. So even from a
- 27:40Speaker 3: budget and perspective, when I tell people to budget, you
- 27:42Speaker 3: should have two budgets.
- 27:44Speaker 9: You should have a budget of what your life is
- 27:46Speaker 9: right now, but you should also have.
- 27:48Speaker 3: A budget on how you want your life to be
- 27:50Speaker 3: right So I know, I know both of us.
- 27:52Speaker 9: I know how much money I need every moment to
- 27:55Speaker 9: manage my finances.
- 27:57Speaker 3: But I also you know what I'm saying, I.
- 27:58Speaker 8: Want the GT contentent to too, that's all the listen,
- 28:01Speaker 8: I want the GT Continental and I'm not I'm not
- 28:03Speaker 8: shy about that, like no, but I know I want
- 28:07Speaker 8: the g And if you don't know the GC Continental,
- 28:09Speaker 8: good google google it, right, But I want the GT too,
- 28:12Speaker 8: And so I know what it's going to cost so
- 28:14Speaker 8: to get to get to that desired outcome. And so
- 28:17Speaker 8: every month I'm looking at both, I'm saying, all right,
- 28:20Speaker 8: how much am I cool?
- 28:21Speaker 3: But what's this number?
- 28:22Speaker 9: Because I don't want to I don't want to only
- 28:24Speaker 9: focus on this.
- 28:24Speaker 3: I want to focus on that. So I think that
- 28:26Speaker 3: and and I'm not focused on how But now I'm
- 28:29Speaker 3: pushing myself because because human.
- 28:31Speaker 9: Nature is actually only gonna do what you're focusing on.
- 28:35Speaker 9: So if you're only focusing on what you currently have,
- 28:38Speaker 9: then you're probably gonna stay in that space.
- 28:41Speaker 3: But if you start to expand your mind and say, yo,
- 28:44Speaker 3: you know what, I.
- 28:44Speaker 9: Need twenty grand a month, I need thirty grand a
- 28:47Speaker 9: month or whatever the number is, and you're focusing on that, you're.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Gonna easily hit whatever that lower number is. But the
- 28:53Speaker 3: goal is the higher number so you can live your
- 28:55Speaker 3: best life that you might even fall in between. Why
- 28:56Speaker 3: you work with you now?
- 28:58Speaker 5: Everything you said just re resonated with me. Me here,
- 29:03Speaker 5: it's crazy.
- 29:03Speaker 2: We had that conversation yesterday and I was telling them
- 29:06Speaker 2: were telling each other, and I was telling him, like, yo,
- 29:08Speaker 2: this is the amount of money I need every moment
- 29:11Speaker 2: because it's like, I have a son. I got mentioned
- 29:12Speaker 2: he's in private school, moving forward, We got this that,
- 29:15Speaker 2: and it's like a future goal. It's like a future goal.
- 29:18Speaker 2: But we literally had that conversation. It was like, that's
- 29:20Speaker 2: what I need, way more what I actually need to
- 29:24Speaker 2: live right now. Right, But I'm not planning for right now.
- 29:28Speaker 2: I'm planning for like what I need.
- 29:30Speaker 7: You always say that, right, playing for the future, because
- 29:32Speaker 7: you're gonna be a lot younger than young And the.
- 29:35Speaker 5: Thing, the thing is that also I.
- 29:41Speaker 3: See what you're doing out here.
- 29:42Speaker 2: I'm glad you said that too, because it's like you said, mindset. Absolutely,
- 29:45Speaker 2: mindset is extremely important. And the thing with the early Legions,
- 29:49Speaker 2: every single week we give like real life tips from professionals,
- 29:54Speaker 2: sometimes just me and Troy on like actionable items, not
- 29:58Speaker 2: just motivation, like actuable items. But you can have all
- 30:01Speaker 2: that information in the world if your mind isn't prepared
- 30:05Speaker 2: for it, You're right, it's not gonna meaning you know,
- 30:08Speaker 2: I know millionaires right now who aren't happy, who who
- 30:11Speaker 2: actually struggle worse than people who have less money.
- 30:15Speaker 3: It's a mindset.
- 30:16Speaker 9: So if you got a terrible mindset at fifty thousand dollars,
- 30:19Speaker 9: you're not I promise you you're not gonna make a
- 30:22Speaker 9: million dollars and be happy all of a sudden, Like
- 30:25Speaker 9: happiness comes before the money. Like you have to be
- 30:28Speaker 9: content to who you are because in fact, money just
- 30:30Speaker 9: amplifies who you are. That's all it is, right, and
- 30:33Speaker 9: so if you broke, if you have a broke mindset
- 30:35Speaker 9: at thirty thousand dollars and you now make a million dollars,
- 30:38Speaker 9: you're gonna.
- 30:38Speaker 3: Have a broke mindset there.
- 30:39Speaker 9: And I know I'm telling you like to this day,
- 30:41Speaker 9: Like I got people that I could call right now
- 30:43Speaker 9: who make millions of dollars who live who are slaves.
- 30:47Speaker 3: To that money, their slaves to their lifestyle, their slaves
- 30:50Speaker 3: to their job, their slaves to their their business. That
- 30:53Speaker 3: wasn't me.
- 30:54Speaker 9: So I was a multi millionaire before you before Chase LeWitt. Shit,
- 31:00Speaker 9: you know what I'm saying, Before, before it change? Do
- 31:02Speaker 9: it before then logan and be like see it right you?
- 31:06Speaker 9: And that's the thing you have to become that before
- 31:09Speaker 9: you don't trying to say that just don't matter that
- 31:14Speaker 9: the BEG account don't match it right there. So if
- 31:16Speaker 9: it doesn't matter it that don't mean you not that
- 31:19Speaker 9: you know what I'm saying.
- 31:19Speaker 3: So if you're a multi millionaire, you're a multi millionaire.
- 31:22Speaker 7: That's it.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Period. Your money does not make you a multi millionaire.
- 31:25Speaker 3: It's your mindset.
- 31:26Speaker 9: Because I promise you, right you take somebody who's broke,
- 31:30Speaker 9: meaning they have a broke mindset and you give them money,
- 31:33Speaker 9: they will lose that money.
- 31:35Speaker 3: I promise you they'll lose that hurt them, They can
- 31:36Speaker 3: hurt them. Right.
- 31:37Speaker 9: You take somebody who has a who has a who
- 31:39Speaker 9: has a multi million on a mindset, and you take
- 31:42Speaker 9: all their money away, I promise you they'll be a
- 31:45Speaker 9: millionaire again, because it's mindset. And so stop thinking that.
- 31:49Speaker 3: Money's gonna change it. You gotta change your mindset first
- 31:53Speaker 3: and foremost.
- 31:54Speaker 9: If you change your mindset, I promise you, everything comes
- 31:57Speaker 9: after that because with.
- 31:58Speaker 3: The mindset, it means sure you're vibrating on that level.
- 32:02Speaker 9: And so if you're vibrating on a millionaire level, then
- 32:05Speaker 9: millions have to catch up with you.
- 32:06Speaker 3: Carrier, if you if you're, if you're if you're.
- 32:09Speaker 9: Vibrating on a ten thousand dollars level, it's.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Always gonna match up with you.
- 32:12Speaker 9: And so if you get a million, then things are
- 32:15Speaker 9: gonna pop up. People are gonna come out of nowhere,
- 32:17Speaker 9: Your your kid's gonna get sick, all the stuff that
- 32:20Speaker 9: happens that now you're losing money, and then you're back
- 32:22Speaker 9: to the ten thousand because that's where your mindset is.
- 32:25Speaker 11: That I like that.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Then you said the money has to catch up to. Absolutely,
- 32:27Speaker 3: that's the time.
- 32:28Speaker 5: That's the fact.
- 32:29Speaker 3: That's a fact. Money can hurt you. Oh, absolutely, sit
- 32:32Speaker 3: on the top all the time.
- 32:34Speaker 5: All right, question and answers.
- 32:35Speaker 3: We want to open it up for question and the answers. Yeah, man,
- 32:37Speaker 3: that's the tooides a lot podcast. So we got you
- 32:39Speaker 3: more walking around with the mic. Oh that's that's just projective.
- 32:44Speaker 9: Yeah, got real quick. What apple you need to at all?
- 32:48Speaker 10: Right?
- 32:48Speaker 9: So as a question, the question is what app? What
- 32:51Speaker 9: I was am I using a dictat the book? I
- 32:53Speaker 9: actually don't use apps. And the reason why I don't
- 32:55Speaker 9: use ass like, so I use my iPhone and there's
- 32:59Speaker 9: a sure mic s h u r E called the
- 33:02Speaker 9: m D eighty eight and then go right, yeah, go
- 33:03Speaker 9: right to your to your phone and so our voice
- 33:06Speaker 9: recorded and.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Then I send it to transcribe. So there are apps
- 33:11Speaker 3: out there. So you got dragons.
- 33:12Speaker 9: Speech and all that stuff that actually transcribes it for you,
- 33:16Speaker 9: so as you talk to transcribes it.
- 33:18Speaker 3: The problem is that a lot of I'll.
- 33:21Speaker 9: Be we all we all fail here, A lot of
- 33:23Speaker 9: it is made for the European dialect. You know what
- 33:26Speaker 9: I'm saying, I say that word what I'm saying so
- 33:29Speaker 9: and so and so and so I might I might
- 33:32Speaker 9: say something and dragon dictators like, no, that's not what
- 33:35Speaker 9: I'm meant.
- 33:35Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. And so I don't want
- 33:37Speaker 3: to have to go through.
- 33:38Speaker 9: And you know, and I to transcribe that and so
- 33:41Speaker 9: and so because of that, and you know, I got
- 33:43Speaker 9: a heavy New York access and so I dictated, and
- 33:46Speaker 9: then I sent that file and let a human being,
- 33:49Speaker 9: you know what.
- 33:49Speaker 3: I mean trans work? Are you working for that? Are
- 33:54Speaker 3: you not? But no, no, yo, say less? No say
- 34:00Speaker 3: less like I just looked at it.
- 34:02Speaker 12: I'm not.
- 34:03Speaker 3: I looked at him and my head no good like
- 34:07Speaker 3: I'm is it a because yo, you gotta no strategy. Baby,
- 34:13Speaker 3: he as got for a reason. He's not just gonna
- 34:15Speaker 3: ask that. I heard you say hurt you say less?
- 34:18Speaker 3: And he got the New York pat on.
- 34:19Speaker 2: So I don't know.
- 34:20Speaker 3: I did yo, I did like head nods. He said,
- 34:23Speaker 3: are you working for an altum? I was like and
- 34:25Speaker 3: then and then and then I was quiet because I didn't.
- 34:27Speaker 9: Want to know heat.
- 34:28Speaker 3: I don't want you to do. Next question please was
- 34:32Speaker 3: next question?
- 34:32Speaker 9: Flee real quick? We always go too like.
- 34:36Speaker 3: I'm moving on.
- 34:37Speaker 13: I know when when we transcribed, like we actually just
- 34:39Speaker 13: had an episode, like a podcast episode, you would be
- 34:42Speaker 13: surprised how many pages come out from just thirty minutes talk.
- 34:46Speaker 13: And we transcribed an episode, what was it like fourteen
- 34:49Speaker 13: pages and it was broken down.
- 34:50Speaker 3: I was abbreviated, abbreviated too. It could have been probably
- 34:53Speaker 3: like thirty pages for an hour. You know what I'm saying.
- 34:55Speaker 3: And like you, dude, four of those you ready? You
- 34:59Speaker 3: know what I'm saying?
- 34:59Speaker 9: You're ready?
- 35:00Speaker 3: A book?
- 35:01Speaker 5: Next question?
- 35:01Speaker 3: Please question? Please? What? Okay? All right? So is it
- 35:08Speaker 3: we gave you? Okay?
- 35:10Speaker 14: So my question is I know you mentioned everyone should
- 35:13Speaker 14: write a book, and I know that you have courses,
- 35:15Speaker 14: you have speaking engagements, so you do a lot, right,
- 35:20Speaker 14: So the challenge that I run into how and I
- 35:22Speaker 14: want to know how you deal with it? What do
- 35:24Speaker 14: you decipher between speaking about at your workshops, giving in
- 35:28Speaker 14: your courses versus writing in your book?
- 35:33Speaker 7: How?
- 35:33Speaker 5: Like, how do you decipher what you put with?
- 35:36Speaker 3: Yeah? All right, so so so so so.
- 35:39Speaker 9: Number one, I live in a an abundant world, and
- 35:42Speaker 9: so I believe that and is better than war, and
- 35:45Speaker 9: so and so and so I don't choose what I
- 35:48Speaker 9: got twenty books in me, I don't eight, I got twenty.
- 35:51Speaker 9: It's just a matter of priority. What what am I,
- 35:53Speaker 9: what am I working on now, and what am I
- 35:55Speaker 9: going to put out first? So I think that, uh,
- 35:58Speaker 9: if you know, as a speaker, as a business person,
- 36:01Speaker 9: is whatever is gonna drive.
- 36:03Speaker 3: Your current business is what you should write about.
- 36:05Speaker 9: Now, That's what I say, right, And so if you know,
- 36:08Speaker 9: if you're focusing on, you know, tax strategies for the
- 36:11Speaker 9: wealth to become wealthy, then that should be the book.
- 36:14Speaker 9: Because why because now you're gonna teach people about tax
- 36:18Speaker 9: strategies to be wealthy, and they're gonna read that book
- 36:20Speaker 9: and they're gonna learn something from it, and they may
- 36:23Speaker 9: want to hire you for your services. Number one. Number two,
- 36:26Speaker 9: people who need speakers to talk about tax strategies are
- 36:30Speaker 9: wealthy will now read your book or see you have.
- 36:32Speaker 3: A book about it and hire you for speaking engagements. Right,
- 36:35Speaker 3: And so that's the beginning of it.
- 36:36Speaker 9: But at some point, if if your if your life
- 36:39Speaker 9: pivots or your business pivots or something pivots, you write
- 36:42Speaker 9: another book right about tax strategies for you know, for
- 36:46Speaker 9: single moms. You know what I'm saying, And so and
- 36:48Speaker 9: so you know, I say and is better than or
- 36:50Speaker 9: and I And honestly, the reason why I'm able to
- 36:52Speaker 9: make at least six figures up six figures I'm talking
- 36:55Speaker 9: into into uh fruition, but at least four figures up on.
- 36:59Speaker 3: From the books is because I was able to I
- 37:02Speaker 3: have this book idea.
- 37:03Speaker 9: All I'm gonna do my right money right to Timo
- 37:05Speaker 9: was a financial freedom.
- 37:06Speaker 3: Oh.
- 37:06Speaker 9: People asking about credit up here?
- 37:07Speaker 3: What the fight will twuss? That's a repaying your credit. Oh,
- 37:09Speaker 3: I'm a spiritual god all.
- 37:10Speaker 9: Right, mind right, life right, you know, manifesting your dream
- 37:13Speaker 9: through the Lords of the Universe.
- 37:14Speaker 3: Oh.
- 37:14Speaker 9: Jay Z talked about four forty four, all right, the
- 37:16Speaker 9: wake up all finto lessons four forty four.
- 37:18Speaker 3: Oh you know what I'm saying. So so like every
- 37:20Speaker 3: time I'm inspired, I just go with that.
- 37:22Speaker 9: And so I think that you start with where you
- 37:24Speaker 9: are right now, and then when it pivots, pivot with it.
- 37:27Speaker 9: The other thing I would say, too, is that when
- 37:29Speaker 9: I speak, I'm not I'm not. I don't care about
- 37:33Speaker 9: product pushing in my in my speeches because people will
- 37:37Speaker 9: connect with me your period, right, and so there's there's
- 37:41Speaker 9: probably gonna be people here who connect with me like, yoh,
- 37:43Speaker 9: you know what, I like this dude.
- 37:44Speaker 3: There's people gonna be like, nah, I don't like this dude,
- 37:45Speaker 3: Hey out too much whatever?
- 37:47Speaker 9: Right, But at the end of the day, at the
- 37:48Speaker 9: end of the day, the people who are like, Yo,
- 37:50Speaker 9: you know what, I rock with this dude.
- 37:51Speaker 3: Let me go see what he's about. I promise you,
- 37:53Speaker 3: they're gonna buy your stuff. I promise you.
- 37:55Speaker 9: They're gonna they're gonna look at the catalog to what
- 37:57Speaker 9: you got and they're gonna buy.
- 37:58Speaker 3: What fits with them. And then they're gonna hit you
- 38:01Speaker 3: in the d M and be like, yo, ask I
- 38:03Speaker 3: got this book? What you think? Got your read? Next?
- 38:05Speaker 9: It happens to me all the time. I get dms
- 38:07Speaker 9: all the time, like Joe. I Just like Joe I
- 38:10Speaker 9: was it was on my credit pair journey.
- 38:11Speaker 3: I just word what the fight? What you think is
- 38:13Speaker 3: the next book? Got you read?
- 38:14Speaker 9: And I got a variety for so I'm like, Yo,
- 38:16Speaker 9: where you where you happened? You're trying to manifest dreams?
- 38:19Speaker 3: Are you trying to be? Financially trying to tell you
- 38:23Speaker 3: where you apt And then when they read it, right
- 38:25Speaker 3: their own book exactly. I got a publish a company.
- 38:27Speaker 3: I got a publishing company. I got a course for you.
- 38:29Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. I like what you want? Man,
- 38:32Speaker 3: time you're pushing.
- 38:32Speaker 9: What do you want.
- 38:36Speaker 3: All of us? All of the huss Yeah, way a pleasant.
- 38:44Speaker 9: And I asked hent even notice.
- 38:46Speaker 3: But so I'm gonna put at a B.
- 38:47Speaker 2: And So a young lady came in my office a
- 38:49Speaker 2: while back and she saw you was on the show
- 38:51Speaker 2: and she was like, yeah, you know, I grew up
- 38:54Speaker 2: with him.
- 38:54Speaker 5: I went to high school together.
- 38:56Speaker 3: And she was like, yo, I never booked.
- 38:57Speaker 2: I would never believe that he is who he is
- 39:00Speaker 2: because she was like, Ash was a was a good
- 39:02Speaker 2: high school.
- 39:04Speaker 3: Was like he was a real live street dude. God,
- 39:07Speaker 3: I'm like your fool by the inspiration.
- 39:15Speaker 5: What I want to talk.
- 39:15Speaker 11: About to day is consumption support and uh a little
- 39:21Speaker 11: bit of reality behind the entrepreneurship and what it looks
- 39:23Speaker 11: like for you, because I mean, we all don't have
- 39:25Speaker 11: the same skill set, we all don't have the same mindset,
- 39:29Speaker 11: but you know, being descendence of slaves, we all can
- 39:31Speaker 11: labor and that's ship and that's really you know what
- 39:35Speaker 11: I'm saying.
- 39:35Speaker 3: So, so, so you wanted to talk about support, you
- 39:49Speaker 3: you just spoke about that conversation.
- 39:54Speaker 5: So consumerism, because one of the things that.
- 39:58Speaker 2: That you really said on the podcast really struck a
- 40:01Speaker 2: nerve with a lot of people and really change the
- 40:04Speaker 2: dynamic and stuff is you like support, people don't fully
- 40:07Speaker 2: understand what support is, right, Yeah, so that's.
- 40:09Speaker 11: The biggest thing, and that's what's extremely important, feel like
- 40:12Speaker 11: the black ecosystem because a lot of times it's black people.
- 40:15Speaker 3: We got a lot of the right ideas, but were
- 40:17Speaker 3: in the wrong stores, you know what I'm saying. And
- 40:19Speaker 3: we need to understand what it looks like to be
- 40:20Speaker 3: able to scale black businesses. And when you.
- 40:23Speaker 11: Consume, you need to consume with intentions. But then you
- 40:26Speaker 11: need to understand the difference between support and consumption and.
- 40:28Speaker 3: What that looks like. So for example, like some of
- 40:30Speaker 3: you may have jobs, right when you got jobs, you
- 40:33Speaker 3: don't work for jobs, you work for people.
- 40:36Speaker 11: So like take for example, myself, a person who's been
- 40:39Speaker 11: able to grow my business and seven figures by myself,
- 40:42Speaker 11: and a young black man coming out of color high school.
- 40:44Speaker 5: He's not going to really want.
- 40:45Speaker 11: To work for me as much as he's gonna want
- 40:47Speaker 11: to work for the four seasons, right, But the person
- 40:50Speaker 11: who're working at the Four Seasons.
- 40:52Speaker 3: Make one hundred grand. Ayeaar he got one hundred grand
- 40:53Speaker 3: to get mindset.
- 40:55Speaker 5: You see what I'm saying.
- 40:56Speaker 11: So, so the difference between supporting consumption and understanding what
- 40:59Speaker 11: that looks, It's like it's similar to understanding what your
- 41:02Speaker 11: mindset need to be.
- 41:03Speaker 3: When you go out and you buy stuff by stuff,
- 41:06Speaker 3: buy stuff for people.
- 41:07Speaker 11: So for me, like when people come into my store,
- 41:10Speaker 11: they say, you know, I came to support and I'm like,
- 41:12Speaker 11: well shit, this shit timph time here, So now you're
- 41:14Speaker 11: coming a concern And they really didn't understand the difference
- 41:17Speaker 11: because as black people, when we look at other black entrepreneurs,
- 41:20Speaker 11: we tend to think we're doing them a favor.
- 41:23Speaker 3: You're not doing them a favor.
- 41:24Speaker 11: You build in a community and you're creating an ecosystem.
- 41:27Speaker 11: Because we can't look outside ourselves for anything. No one
- 41:30Speaker 11: has anything for us. Chasing point in my situation, like
- 41:35Speaker 11: everything that we've done to grow my business has been
- 41:37Speaker 11: through ourselves. You see what I'm saying. I always say
- 41:40Speaker 11: like take jay Z, take Puffy, take Russell Simmons. None
- 41:43Speaker 11: of them niggas ain't doing nothing together. It's independent they
- 41:47Speaker 11: doing anything independent and then they doing a thing independent
- 41:50Speaker 11: and then at the end of the year the numbers
- 41:51Speaker 11: get charged up. But when you do see jay z do,
- 41:54Speaker 11: like the Live Nation deal or to see All that comes,
- 41:56Speaker 11: it's a white man. When you see Oprah do a
- 41:59Speaker 11: lot of deal, they from white people and then they're
- 42:01Speaker 11: able to trickle back.
- 42:03Speaker 3: So the whole Live Nation play is a white player.
- 42:06Speaker 3: The whole uh, what's the movie the Black Panther. The
- 42:09Speaker 3: whole Black Panther player is a white play.
- 42:11Speaker 11: So we need to understand who owns what we talked
- 42:16Speaker 11: about like white right, and what that looks like. And
- 42:18Speaker 11: then when you buy from the entrepreneur, what's your intention is?
- 42:22Speaker 5: So are you consuming?
- 42:23Speaker 9: Are you are you supporting?
- 42:24Speaker 3: And what does that look like? So for me, it's
- 42:26Speaker 3: about intentional consumption.
- 42:28Speaker 2: So you talked about the the other side of the
- 42:31Speaker 2: ugly side of entrepreneurship, right and making hard decisions, and.
- 42:36Speaker 3: You posted some videos about here.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Even with employees, right, So the restaurant business, you have
- 42:41Speaker 2: a lot of employees.
- 42:42Speaker 5: That's like part of it. Like, you can't be a
- 42:44Speaker 5: solo entrepreneur in the restaurant, So, but how is it
- 42:47Speaker 5: working with.
- 42:50Speaker 3: So you hire people from your.
- 42:51Speaker 5: Community, right, yeah, yeah, and it hasn't been all easy
- 42:55Speaker 5: for you either, right, No, No, it's not easy.
- 42:58Speaker 11: And I think like when I see a lot of
- 43:01Speaker 11: all the other podcasts on the platform.
- 43:03Speaker 3: They try to they seen real clamor racks, so like they.
- 43:06Speaker 11: Don't talk about their business, and they will talk about
- 43:09Speaker 11: how much money.
- 43:09Speaker 3: They make, but they're not talking about the problem they're dealing.
- 43:11Speaker 5: With hiring these knigs.
- 43:15Speaker 3: If he say real problems, you know what I'm saying,
- 43:17Speaker 3: because we don't know, Like I'm sure some of.
- 43:19Speaker 9: Y'all there entrepreneurs, and it's hardest to deal with your people.
- 43:23Speaker 11: So I had to find a model where I had
- 43:27Speaker 11: to really go from an entrepreneur to a theptist and
- 43:30Speaker 11: really dig deep into the eyes of my brothers and see, oh, this.
- 43:33Speaker 9: Is what he's struggling.
- 43:34Speaker 3: When's struggling with trust, it's not that he don't want
- 43:36Speaker 3: to do the job.
- 43:37Speaker 11: He trusts I'm not gonna pay him because he worked
- 43:40Speaker 11: for another black man and that man didn't pay me.
- 43:42Speaker 11: So now it's different with me than it is we
- 43:45Speaker 11: say like a white brown whereas though he might not
- 43:47Speaker 11: get paid, he might get paid, but he might get.
- 43:50Speaker 3: They might talk shit about him behind closed doors. So
- 43:53Speaker 3: they got a cap big for him. Whereas go with me.
- 43:54Speaker 11: I'm being straight up with him, and it's it's a
- 43:57Speaker 11: little bit difficult to earn his trust because of what
- 43:58Speaker 11: he saw in black man, specifically for black man, we
- 44:02Speaker 11: don't grow up in communities where we had fathers.
- 44:05Speaker 3: So I know for me, it was a struggle to
- 44:07Speaker 3: trust a black man. And I was resistant to that
- 44:09Speaker 3: so much so.
- 44:10Speaker 11: That that my father would try to tell me, what
- 44:11Speaker 11: the dude, I'm bucking automatically, you see what I'm saying.
- 44:15Speaker 11: So when I had a lot of young black men
- 44:16Speaker 11: working for me, it was so much resistance. They didn't
- 44:20Speaker 11: understand I was laying that up from south out here,
- 44:22Speaker 11: you kicking point even with my own brother.
- 44:24Speaker 3: Right. So I build a store out I pay for
- 44:28Speaker 3: everything on my own. Then I do the trucks. I
- 44:30Speaker 3: pay for everything on my own. So I go to
- 44:32Speaker 3: my brother, were going back and forth. I say, what's
- 44:33Speaker 3: your dream? He said, well, my dream is to own
- 44:36Speaker 3: the restaurant. You sit in my hand one, You sit
- 44:39Speaker 3: in my hand one.
- 44:40Speaker 5: Right, So we get into it.
- 44:41Speaker 3: I fire him, he leaves, He leave right, go right
- 44:45Speaker 3: on the internet and by pats from a white guy
- 44:47Speaker 3: how to run a restaurant. Wow, wow, I'm sitting right here,
- 44:53Speaker 3: right here.
- 44:54Speaker 11: But it's every day though, every day we give out
- 44:56Speaker 11: black entrepreneurs so much bullshit.
- 45:00Speaker 9: So much to deal with, from the entrepreneur side.
- 45:03Speaker 11: Of hiring people to the consumer side of people coming
- 45:06Speaker 11: into a space and feeling like it' should own it.
- 45:09Speaker 3: Same thing I had with a woman one time.
- 45:10Speaker 11: We opened at nine o'clock. She came at nine oh five.
- 45:12Speaker 11: She said, well, I came at nine oh five. The
- 45:14Speaker 11: door was locked, so I'm never coming back. I said, well,
- 45:17Speaker 11: do you like the restaurant?
- 45:18Speaker 3: She said, I love it. I said, do you like
- 45:19Speaker 3: the food? She said, I love it. I said, but
- 45:21Speaker 3: you never coming back? She said, no, I'm never coming back.
- 45:24Speaker 3: I said, why did you say that?
- 45:25Speaker 11: You don't really focus on them, because a lot of
- 45:27Speaker 11: times i's as black and brown people. We got a
- 45:29Speaker 11: lot of slashes, Like we just had slash, We cook
- 45:31Speaker 11: them and slash.
- 45:32Speaker 3: So for me to in order to scale, you got focused.
- 45:35Speaker 3: So I scaled the business. Ye, it's a one plus
- 45:38Speaker 3: one equal to model. So I go back to when
- 45:40Speaker 3: I was in the street saying, you know, if you
- 45:42Speaker 3: buy one break you stay down to sell it and
- 45:44Speaker 3: you get another one.
- 45:45Speaker 11: A lot of people don't really talk about how important
- 45:47Speaker 11: it is to save, saving, sacrifice, equal scaleing.
- 45:52Speaker 3: So those are the three essays that we typically talk about.
- 45:54Speaker 3: So like, for example, this year, I got a five restaurants,
- 45:59Speaker 3: got a True Foods, So that's seventh strings of income.
- 46:02Speaker 11: And I remember arrest aware that the average million that
- 46:04Speaker 11: had seven strings of income.
- 46:06Speaker 3: And then now we sell product through those.
- 46:08Speaker 11: Restaurants and merchandise, so then now that's twenty one strings
- 46:11Speaker 11: of income. So my goal is by the time that
- 46:13Speaker 11: I get forty years old, I'll have twenty twenty five
- 46:17Speaker 11: to thirty strings of income coming in. But it's the
- 46:19Speaker 11: lonely place for me because I'm scaling. But when I
- 46:22Speaker 11: look to my left and to my right and I
- 46:24Speaker 11: see my fellow black entrepreneurs that kind of close to
- 46:26Speaker 11: me on higher level, they's just doing.
- 46:28Speaker 3: Their own thing on their own shop, and like when
- 46:30Speaker 3: you talk to him, it's like, yeah, that's cool, that's
- 46:32Speaker 3: what's up. That's what you're doing. I'm gonna higher at
- 46:34Speaker 3: you and then don't ship.
- 46:35Speaker 2: So one of the things one of the things that
- 46:37Speaker 2: I like what you did is that you sold another
- 46:39Speaker 2: episode Fernando Lord of the Slums and you liked that
- 46:42Speaker 2: episode a lot a lot of people did, and you
- 46:45Speaker 2: reached out to him. Yeah, she gave you some game
- 46:47Speaker 2: and you actually are putting it right. Can you talk
- 46:48Speaker 2: about that?
- 46:49Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 46:49Speaker 3: Hell yeah, so so so with Fernando. With Fernando specifically,
- 46:53Speaker 3: because the first thing I gotta do is shout out
- 46:55Speaker 3: the Iron Legion broadcast ship you well, yeah you are,
- 47:01Speaker 3: but you're.
- 47:02Speaker 11: Understand the importance of the information that's directly in front
- 47:05Speaker 11: of you, and if you don't know. So a lot
- 47:07Speaker 11: of times I tend not to speak about business. I
- 47:09Speaker 11: speak more about social skills and how we need to
- 47:13Speaker 11: grow and come out of certain timers because even if
- 47:16Speaker 11: you get that tax business, you can give up on them.
- 47:19Speaker 11: Even if you get that restaurant, you can give up
- 47:21Speaker 11: on it, or you can sing what fun it ain't
- 47:22Speaker 11: hearing black people.
- 47:24Speaker 3: You see what I'm saying. So I reached out to
- 47:25Speaker 3: Fernando because I knew I saw value, and then I
- 47:28Speaker 3: acted on it. So I was like, damn, he got
- 47:30Speaker 3: all these houses. He can help me scale my restaurant business.
- 47:33Speaker 3: So when I reached out, so the goal was to reach.
- 47:35Speaker 11: Out so that we can partner up and then he
- 47:38Speaker 11: was like, well, I'm kind of busy right now.
- 47:39Speaker 3: I'm not gonna parten up on a business, but I
- 47:41Speaker 3: can show you a way in what you to scale
- 47:42Speaker 3: your business for free. He did that for you for free.
- 47:45Speaker 3: So I didn't know about hard money until I watched
- 47:48Speaker 3: her religion. I was so naive even being a businessman.
- 47:50Speaker 11: I felt like, how money was a nigga giving me
- 47:53Speaker 11: some money and I own, that's gonna be a problem.
- 47:54Speaker 9: I found own.
- 47:56Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 47:58Speaker 3: That's all I knew. I didn't nothing.
- 48:00Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 48:01Speaker 3: I'm telling I was green, that's all I know. So
- 48:04Speaker 3: so but if I would have knew that you're not
- 48:05Speaker 3: all the way wrong with that, I was about right.
- 48:10Speaker 11: But if I knew that I would have I would
- 48:13Speaker 11: have definitely grown faster. Show That's definitely some information that
- 48:16Speaker 11: he gave me. So he told me that I could
- 48:19Speaker 11: put twenty percent down, go through.
- 48:21Speaker 3: A hard money lending. He gave me the hard money
- 48:22Speaker 3: let the league and the building at the time was
- 48:25Speaker 3: like two hundred grand.
- 48:25Speaker 5: It's a mixed use property.
- 48:26Speaker 11: So anybody who know my uh my business model, we
- 48:29Speaker 11: got mixed use property. So that's what I would to
- 48:31Speaker 11: encourage all of y'all to do, because there's a way
- 48:32Speaker 11: to kind of offset costs of your entrepreneur get a
- 48:35Speaker 11: mixed use property.
- 48:36Speaker 3: Can you talk about that though.
- 48:39Speaker 2: He might have seen the podcast, but I want you
- 48:40Speaker 2: to explain that he Mixed use properties is so important,
- 48:43Speaker 2: all right for your business model.
- 48:44Speaker 11: So mixed use is when you got residential and commercial
- 48:46Speaker 11: property right, specifically typically the commercial properties at the bottom,
- 48:50Speaker 11: so like in DC, like a lot of that is
- 48:51Speaker 11: like Adamsburg and Georgetown where they got apartments up top
- 48:55Speaker 11: and then commercially at the bottom.
- 48:56Speaker 3: So for us, it was easier because the tenants paid
- 48:59Speaker 3: the movie right, so.
- 49:00Speaker 11: When they're Tennis paid the morgags, you open for free, right,
- 49:04Speaker 11: So we can, like we can go through anything at
- 49:05Speaker 11: my business right now. If I feel that type of
- 49:07Speaker 11: way where I want to restructure my business, I could
- 49:09Speaker 11: close it if.
- 49:10Speaker 3: A recession come, we good because we don't have any bills.
- 49:15Speaker 11: So that was that was a way that I was
- 49:17Speaker 11: able to scale so fast too, because I focused on
- 49:20Speaker 11: a business model.
- 49:21Speaker 3: So that's the that's a lead that you brought that
- 49:23Speaker 3: up because that's extamely important.
- 49:24Speaker 11: So a lot of people here probably got good ideas
- 49:26Speaker 11: and good good products, but might got might not got
- 49:29Speaker 11: the best business model.
- 49:31Speaker 3: So like, for example, you walk in the cafe and
- 49:34Speaker 3: you don't like the butter.
- 49:34Speaker 11: Scott's crimpts right, so you write a moll, but you
- 49:36Speaker 11: don't never go to think like that black lady might
- 49:38Speaker 11: not got the best crimptas, but she got a great
- 49:40Speaker 11: business model. I make some good ass crimpts. Let's link
- 49:43Speaker 11: up and let's do something. So a lot of times
- 49:46Speaker 11: we gotta learn how to respect business and see them
- 49:48Speaker 11: for what they y'all beyond face value. And even when
- 49:51Speaker 11: you go in places, like you going places and you
- 49:53Speaker 11: get a good product. So it's how I acquired the
- 49:55Speaker 11: vegan donut place. I went in the spot, I ate
- 49:57Speaker 11: the donut. I stepped outside. I said it was two
- 50:00Speaker 11: apartment's a butuf So I'm like, that don'tno good. It's
- 50:02Speaker 11: a mixed use property. I wanted already interested in selling
- 50:06Speaker 11: the lady.
- 50:06Speaker 3: The lady told me they was interested in selling because
- 50:08Speaker 3: they didn't own the building, so they didn't use the
- 50:10Speaker 3: right business model. So when I called Fernando, he gave
- 50:13Speaker 3: me the lead set A hard money guy. Come to
- 50:15Speaker 3: find out, you don't need taxi terms. I'm just being honest.
- 50:22Speaker 3: You could literally come in the street and have a
- 50:24Speaker 3: bag with fifty in it and they gonna take it.
- 50:26Speaker 9: That was that's my you know what I'm saying.
- 50:32Speaker 3: So he's like, he's like, shit, all you need I'm
- 50:36Speaker 3: just man out. He's like, shit, all you need is
- 50:38Speaker 3: you need forty bands, then you need clothing y'aps. I'm like,
- 50:40Speaker 3: what's all that? So he's like, like forty eight thousand.
- 50:43Speaker 3: I w wasn't right home.
- 50:47Speaker 8: That's my room life.
- 50:47Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying, Well, am I gave him that?
- 50:49Speaker 2: And that was that.
- 50:51Speaker 11: And now then Fernando tell me to say, look you
- 50:54Speaker 11: can fix the property.
- 50:55Speaker 3: Yup, refinance it, get your money back. They're gonna give
- 50:59Speaker 3: you everything. Right, you feel what I'm saying.
- 51:01Speaker 9: I got selling help.
- 51:08Speaker 3: Me, you know I style.
- 51:12Speaker 11: So like my first door, it is, to be honest
- 51:14Speaker 11: with you, My first door was seven hundred thousand. So
- 51:18Speaker 11: when I went to this store, it was full fifty show.
- 51:20Speaker 11: The white guy tell me, David Fanny say you go.
- 51:22Speaker 3: Buy the building, right.
- 51:23Speaker 11: So then when I go to buy the building, they like,
- 51:25Speaker 11: because it's a it's a commercial property, you need thirty
- 51:27Speaker 11: percent down, which would have been like one thirty, but
- 51:30Speaker 11: then I had to earners.
- 51:32Speaker 3: What's up.
- 51:33Speaker 4: You ever walk into a small business and everything just
- 51:35Speaker 4: works like the checkout is fast, or seats of digital

- 53:26Speaker 15: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 53:30Speaker 15: accused of murdering a Texas. Man of Venezuelan charged with
- 53:34Speaker 15: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 53:38Speaker 15: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 53:42Speaker 15: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy nom, the United States
- 53:45Speaker 15: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border

- 54:22Speaker 11: Hey, taxes, they get approved for the full fifty, So
- 54:25Speaker 11: then I'm saying I'm gonna get on one thirty. Then
- 54:27Speaker 11: I gotta get approved for the full fifty, which means
- 54:29Speaker 11: I probably gotta make this a buck fifty, which means
- 54:31Speaker 11: I'm gonna.
- 54:31Speaker 3: Do that for three days. That's another buck fifty, and
- 54:34Speaker 3: that's you eighty. I put you fifty in in my store.
- 54:36Speaker 3: Now I'm five thirty in. I don't I don't filing
- 54:39Speaker 3: it at thirty thousand dollars. You see what I'm saying.
- 54:42Speaker 6: Boy, we're just posted two seconds because I don't know
- 54:45Speaker 6: how you go to math your head like.
- 54:52Speaker 3: He's very talented in math. Oh, it's very talented. Mask
- 54:56Speaker 3: very good. Yeah, so I'm gonna take you out the play. Look,
- 55:02Speaker 3: I never bought the building. I'm like, and I ain't
- 55:05Speaker 3: gonna buy it. I mean, I'm sorry, I'm like, forget it.
- 55:06Speaker 3: I ain't got I'm gonna just fix it up. We're
- 55:09Speaker 3: gonna double back and we're gonna buy it. Right. I
- 55:11Speaker 3: fixed it up. He sell it to another white man.
- 55:13Speaker 5: No, you know what I'm saying.
- 55:15Speaker 3: So white, do you come to me one day like
- 55:16Speaker 3: I'm your new Lineloder? I like, ain't no, ain't no world.
- 55:18Speaker 3: David told me he was gonna send me the building. No,
- 55:21Speaker 3: I bought the building from David.
- 55:22Speaker 11: He bought the building from David for seven hundred my
- 55:24Speaker 11: building of praise for a million hours.
- 55:27Speaker 3: So this is how I was able to get my building.
- 55:29Speaker 3: The white guy that I built that, that I uh
- 55:31Speaker 3: that bought it from David. I was aheadache in him
- 55:33Speaker 3: for so long, but he came to me like, fucking Dad,
- 55:37Speaker 3: go ahead, whatever you gotta do to get it.
- 55:40Speaker 11: So I told him, look, I could come up with
- 55:42Speaker 11: twenty percent, and then he did. Was caught on the
- 55:44Speaker 11: finance because he owned the building. But that was a
- 55:47Speaker 11: white person who put me in a position to do that,
- 55:49Speaker 11: and Another thing I'm gonna be honest about is all
- 55:52Speaker 11: my level.
- 55:52Speaker 3: What positions always came from white people. It's crazy because
- 55:55Speaker 3: I talked this real fast.
- 55:57Speaker 11: So look, I was sitting with a delegate bar. I'm
- 56:00Speaker 11: gonna say, black women, right, we eat.
- 56:01Speaker 3: She a lot of foods. She come here all the time.
- 56:03Speaker 3: And it's all about perspective with black people. Right. So
- 56:05Speaker 3: she said a lot of food. I would love for
- 56:08Speaker 3: you to cater for some events that we have in right,
- 56:10Speaker 3: I said, all right, that's cool. White lady, come in.
- 56:12Speaker 3: She eat the food. She a lot of foods. She
- 56:14Speaker 3: had a lot of food.
- 56:14Speaker 11: You need to get fined on locations. Here's my business coming.
- 56:17Speaker 11: So it's all about perspective. Some of the places that
- 56:20Speaker 11: she's really loving, falling in love with. And you got
- 56:22Speaker 11: a business model add value like that. You don't got
- 56:25Speaker 11: to start a salon from scratch.
- 56:27Speaker 3: She got a salon that you love. She might can't
- 56:29Speaker 3: manage the books fully well, but I ain't want you
- 56:31Speaker 3: know what I mean.
- 56:37Speaker 7: You know, I just because the mentorship piece is key, right,
- 56:40Speaker 7: So I know that you're back from probably a lot
- 56:42Speaker 7: of young people lives and didn't work out. And you
- 56:44Speaker 7: know I was in my mind thinking like, have any
- 56:46Speaker 7: of them come back, because I know you brought some
- 56:48Speaker 7: of the young boys here shouting out who was here?
- 56:51Speaker 3: What's the return on the.
- 56:52Speaker 7: Investment in some of these young people when they come
- 56:54Speaker 7: back realizing that, you know what, I really should have.
- 56:57Speaker 3: Listened, right, this guy's in the position. Who can help me? Yeah?
- 56:59Speaker 3: All right for me, just for me, you know what
- 57:02Speaker 3: I'm saying. So I started my business to get out
- 57:03Speaker 3: the streets. I'm not even gonna lie like.
- 57:06Speaker 5: I was, like, Yo, I'm not trying to God go
- 57:08Speaker 5: to jail.
- 57:09Speaker 3: I'm trying to make a shit ton of money and
- 57:11Speaker 3: do business right. So I start, I became successful. I
- 57:14Speaker 3: got lucky on my first store. It took it six months.
- 57:16Speaker 11: We got the second store. So then it became a
- 57:19Speaker 11: breach back piece. Like na, Na'm speaking of me. I'm
- 57:21Speaker 11: already making money. All these young black men they got
- 57:24Speaker 11: these problems because I was an introvert being in the
- 57:26Speaker 11: streets in Baltimore.
- 57:27Speaker 3: You say to yourself, So I didn't know like problems.
- 57:30Speaker 11: I didn't even know nothing about none of this. So
- 57:32Speaker 11: now being around so many young black men like damn, like.
- 57:36Speaker 3: Like Killer Form, not cho Bank, It's Disney killer.
- 57:38Speaker 11: That's my man, right, being around people like now twenty three,
- 57:45Speaker 11: being around guys like I'm like, damn he oh he
- 57:47Speaker 11: need me.
- 57:48Speaker 3: This shit bigger than like me selling some food. I
- 57:50Speaker 3: got a creative give back piece. So now let's go
- 57:52Speaker 3: into the new year. So going into the New York.
- 57:54Speaker 11: I got the seventh stores, right, I'm on, I got
- 57:57Speaker 11: the seventh store. So with the seventh stores, they not
- 58:00Speaker 11: my stores. Those stores are for my guys. So what
- 58:04Speaker 11: we do now is we all work. So we worked
- 58:05Speaker 11: in seven entities, right, and we make enough money every
- 58:08Speaker 11: quarter to buy a new entity.
- 58:10Speaker 3: And now what I'm doing, I got owner operators. So
- 58:13Speaker 3: it got bigger than me. And I said to myself,
- 58:15Speaker 3: how can I provide a level of structure, how can
- 58:18Speaker 3: I provide a system? And how can I provide a
- 58:20Speaker 3: clean brand?
- 58:22Speaker 11: Because in our culture, like all we knew was like
- 58:24Speaker 11: Mom and Pops, the agents had everything. It wasn't no
- 58:27Speaker 11: clean black brand. So for me, I do gomet selling
- 58:32Speaker 11: food a breakfast.
- 58:33Speaker 3: And brunch palette. But it transcends the stereotype.
- 58:35Speaker 11: And I typically go in higher in white neighborhoods because
- 58:39Speaker 11: it's a real estate piece to it.
- 58:40Speaker 3: But then it's also a place where all black people
- 58:42Speaker 3: feel coupic becoming. So now I've decided to replicate their model,
- 58:46Speaker 3: right and being able to build that out and now
- 58:49Speaker 3: pass it to the next man. So I'm gonna bring
- 58:50Speaker 3: it down. I buy the spot, I build it.
- 58:52Speaker 11: Out, right, you work for me after Yeah, if you
- 58:56Speaker 11: show face, I give it to you.
- 58:57Speaker 3: It's free. Now we split, there's no differ. We building
- 59:00Speaker 3: up a block. Were sitting up there cushing up flow together.
- 59:04Speaker 3: Now they coming you run up block. I'm gonna move
- 59:06Speaker 3: on to the next block. That's how that works.
- 59:09Speaker 2: That's alright, alright, So we're gonna question question and answer
- 59:15Speaker 2: this question that some clob break.
- 59:18Speaker 3: Yep, yeah, I got doing from from MPHRASA to you.
- 59:23Speaker 16: H you're you were talking about dealing with your employees
- 59:27Speaker 16: and stuff.
- 59:27Speaker 3: That really spoke to me.
- 59:28Speaker 16: I work for a black man now and we have
- 59:31Speaker 16: some challenges, but heat down in my heart, I don't
- 59:34Speaker 16: want to leave the company because he's a black man.
- 59:37Speaker 3: We have black employ you have black clients.
- 59:40Speaker 16: What would be your advice to someone who's having those
- 59:43Speaker 16: issues but want to stick it out?
- 59:45Speaker 3: How long have you been there? About a year and
- 59:50Speaker 3: so listen. So so it's a grind. You see what
- 59:54Speaker 3: I'm saying. If you've been there for and I and
- 59:56Speaker 3: I and I respect that right, So you see how
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: mentally he challenged already, So it's already a fight. So
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: now he gotta go in and work for this man.
- 1:00:05Speaker 11: No, I'm like, look, it's basically a social tone. Now
- 1:00:08Speaker 11: I'm working for you because you're black, and I think
- 1:00:12Speaker 11: that's not right. I think you gotta get to a
- 1:00:14Speaker 11: space where there's a level of fulfillment and it's an
- 1:00:16Speaker 11: even tone.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: Amongst you and the people that you work for. I
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: don't believe support me because I'm black. I believe I
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: gotta give you some exceptional shit. That's just what I
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: gotta get.
- 1:00:25Speaker 9: I gotta go all in and all out every week, specifically.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: Because you're black, right, And I know you watched right right.
- 1:00:32Speaker 11: So so when you're working with that gentleman in particular,
- 1:00:35Speaker 11: it's best to get a set of rules and constructs.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: See where he's trying to go. If he ain't trying
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: to go nowhere, get out of that.
- 1:00:41Speaker 11: But if there's a place for you to be able
- 1:00:43Speaker 11: to grow in itself, I always believe in sticking choice,
- 1:00:46Speaker 11: stick to it. Ifness is what it is because even
- 1:00:47Speaker 11: if you leave the mom you're backing somebody.
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: Else orientation, getting them with the same shit lot. Brother, you.
- 1:01:00Speaker 12: Know, I ain't write, no, we an't got we don't
- 1:01:05Speaker 12: got Instagram, paget get on social media like I don't
- 1:01:09Speaker 12: got no Instagram.
- 1:01:10Speaker 7: Uh if you ever seen him on Instagram, he looked
- 1:01:14Speaker 7: like this.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: Dear Garry came and we got the whole reading to ourselves,
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: and he said, you're the last person to sit up
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: all the way up here.
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: By himself. You're still moving.
- 1:01:28Speaker 9: Around like.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: You got you don't got you gotta talk no more.
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: You got a question all types of differences that you
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: came from tail black people black. Yeah, okay, I'm so
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: for me.
- 1:01:45Speaker 11: I decided to do the restaurant because we grew up
- 1:01:48Speaker 11: like my so my grandparents from Littleton off them out.
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: So they we grew up eating fishing, dress checking.
- 1:01:52Speaker 9: Them up and stuff like that in the house.
- 1:01:55Speaker 11: But also mine my passion was in trade design, fashion,
- 1:01:58Speaker 11: food and music, and the restaurant was the only place
- 1:02:00Speaker 11: where you, I mean, you can't walk a chicken and
- 1:02:02Speaker 11: roab with.
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: Down the runway.
- 1:02:03Speaker 9: So the restaurant was.
- 1:02:04Speaker 11: The only place where I could get all of that
- 1:02:06Speaker 11: out where I could design the uniforms, I could control
- 1:02:08Speaker 11: the music, so for like people who follow me on Instagram,
- 1:02:10Speaker 11: like they love the music that we love, and then like,
- 1:02:13Speaker 11: all right, then I can design the inside of the space.
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: And I knew I could get all that fulfillment.
- 1:02:18Speaker 11: And then I also wanted to create something that transcender
- 1:02:21Speaker 11: the stereotype because I just felt like, like in my city,
- 1:02:24Speaker 11: I lived in Laquo for a while, so in Atlanta
- 1:02:26Speaker 11: and in my city, it.
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: Wasn't a lot of higher and upper crush.
- 1:02:29Speaker 11: So I don't know how familiar all are, but like
- 1:02:31Speaker 11: the four Seasons of like Soho House and things like that.
- 1:02:34Speaker 9: But it's my goal this year to get out of
- 1:02:36Speaker 9: the restaurant business.
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: Of it and focus on a hospitality company. So with
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: the seven, with the seven restaurants and the true food.
- 1:02:43Speaker 11: Trucks, we looked in to grow and be somewhat of
- 1:02:46Speaker 11: like a four season fifteen twenty years.
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: From now foot black people specifically get it for black people.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: That's my whole thing, you know, I like to create
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: a level.
- 1:02:53Speaker 11: Of inclusion where when white people participate, that's fine, but
- 1:02:55Speaker 11: it's another thing.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm just speaking on my spreens. White
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: people not checking for you, black people checking for you.
- 1:03:02Speaker 11: If I if I see y'all right, now y'all coming
- 1:03:04Speaker 11: to me, and I got some biscuits, you're gonna.
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: Trying A group of white girls are walk right down me.
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: You see what I'm saying.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: So I created itness.
- 1:03:10Speaker 11: Specifically for black people, hoping that white people fall in
- 1:03:13Speaker 11: love with it.
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: That's there's a level on inclusion. But when white people
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: come in your doors, you want to treat them as
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: family because now they're interested in you.
- 1:03:21Speaker 9: But keep going outside and thinking.
- 1:03:22Speaker 11: White people validate your business and if they buy something
- 1:03:25Speaker 11: for you that makes you better.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: No, that shit is old. That's that's that's old myself.
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: Derrek Derek Man appreciate you, brok.
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, those all these black questions.
- 1:03:37Speaker 11: We're gonna we're gonna.
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: Runing short on time. But got out hanging out with
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: us afterwards as well.
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: So all right, so the Closer, Today's Closer, the show
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: Closer or me and Max back. One thing I like
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: about early lease of podcasts that we bring people on
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: from different walks of life. Everybody has a different story,
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: everybody has a different journey, everybody has a different level.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: But can everybody has a different you know, expertise. We
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: don't judge anybody. We were very non judgment too. He
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: doesn't tell and we just just let people come as
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: they are. And Max's Max is just he's one of
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: these guys that like he's this special person, like you know,
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: sometimes you just see somebody here always looks like it's Barbara,
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: which is He's like, yeah, it's like off like that. Yeah,
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: it's like the pier. You got like a whole full
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: length peer. And so he asked the look. But more
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: important than the look he asks the information and the
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: way he delivers it is so powerful. And he's just
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: he's he's he's really dope and really dynamic, and he
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: was one of our he's our most recent alumni. And
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: people really really enjoyed that episode a lot.
- 1:04:46Speaker 7: And we went we were humble by it, right because
- 1:04:48Speaker 7: when when we sat down, he told us that you
- 1:04:51Speaker 7: had to listening.
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: To us, So we were like for real.
- 1:04:55Speaker 7: And the next thing was like yo, at the end
- 1:04:56Speaker 7: of everybody listening at the end of episode, like, Yo,
- 1:04:59Speaker 7: we're going to DC. You loved you, said Joe, Yeah,
- 1:05:02Speaker 7: she was good. I'm coming literally like on the spot.
- 1:05:06Speaker 7: And it was like, that's dope, it's even happened here,
- 1:05:08Speaker 7: man shout out to you.
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: I appreciate y'all turning around across. That's when I thought
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: I was doing something, and we just did a holding set.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: Now you're gonna do this.
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: So I wanted to ask you. We spoke about real estate.
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: We'll talk about real estate too, but we didn't really
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: get a chance to talk about a few things that
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: I really wanted to talk about on the podcast that
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: hopefully we can talk about now. So, like you, one
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: of the things we spoke about a briefing. But one
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: of the things I really like about you is that
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: you created systems in place, and you actually make more
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: money off those systems than even in real estate, right,
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: And it's.
- 1:05:46Speaker 7: Like this, I think people forget that or they kind
- 1:05:48Speaker 7: of overlook the message of what you've done.
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm glad you brought that up. So in my
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: real estate business, I only.
- 1:05:54Speaker 17: Make like a million and a half only y'all right, holy,
- 1:05:57Speaker 17: But in episode fifty one year talking about verticals, Ye,
- 1:06:02Speaker 17: so out of being real good at real estate, I
- 1:06:05Speaker 17: created different products within that real estate software. Is that
- 1:06:08Speaker 17: solve my problem? To end up solving thousands of people's
- 1:06:11Speaker 17: other problems. You know, that's like two or three billion
- 1:06:13Speaker 17: dollars right there, So different.
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: Things within that thing you good at.
- 1:06:18Speaker 17: Like you said, when you say you got to get
- 1:06:19Speaker 17: seven streams, I mean you got to go through this
- 1:06:21Speaker 17: truck and you gotta just you know, it all comes
- 1:06:23Speaker 17: in all stamps from real estate. And then and then
- 1:06:25Speaker 17: that's where we get to the you.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: Know, yeah, because they're bad because it was like especially
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: for you because it used to be a bounte hundred dollars.
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: Yeah, and then and then so when you when you
- 1:06:34Speaker 5: learned how to track people down.
- 1:06:36Speaker 17: Yeah, So that's how I created one of my first
- 1:06:37Speaker 17: products that made me a million dollars laying in bed.
- 1:06:40Speaker 17: That was the first product that I had to work
- 1:06:42Speaker 17: nothing like once I built it, you know, it made
- 1:06:45Speaker 17: like a million dollars while you sleeping, Yeah, exactly.
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: And it's going to continue to make money.
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: Yeah, we did two million this year.
- 1:06:50Speaker 5: Because you saw, it's all about solving the problem.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: So it's like if you're in real estate, you know
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: a lot of times one of the issues that you
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: can't you can't track down the owner of a home.
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: And it's like, so you when you really I have
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: you I know how to track down people, but I
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: don't need to track down people to serve the parts anymore.
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: I could track down people to say I have an
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: offer for your home.
- 1:07:10Speaker 5: Are you interested in that?
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: Absolutely?
- 1:07:12Speaker 5: And that's alve the problem.
- 1:07:13Speaker 17: Yeah, and many many My people's right here in my family,
- 1:07:16Speaker 17: my wholesaling family and real estate family. They know how
- 1:07:19Speaker 17: important it is that you see a house that's destroyed
- 1:07:22Speaker 17: and you're like, yo, I want that house, but the
- 1:07:24Speaker 17: owner has abandoned for the last seven, eight, twelve years
- 1:07:28Speaker 17: and you need to find them.
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: Skip tracing is what puts you on there. That's a
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: mindset thing too, right, because a lot of times you
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: drive past the house, they were like, we like going
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: to that house. That's like on trick on Halloween, you
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: even we ain't going to that house.
- 1:07:39Speaker 17: It's crazy that even like so until you learn about
- 1:07:42Speaker 17: real estate, you learn that, oh, that abandoned house you
- 1:07:45Speaker 17: can make money from.
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: A lot of us drive past.
- 1:07:47Speaker 17: The house, have never seen it, and then you listen
- 1:07:50Speaker 17: to like somebody on YouTube. You go listen to YouTube
- 1:07:53Speaker 17: and they'll be like, oh, you can make money off
- 1:07:54Speaker 17: of bandoned house. The next time you're drive into work,
- 1:07:57Speaker 17: you see thirty of them. Right, It's like when you
- 1:08:00Speaker 17: gonna go buy a new car, you get a range
- 1:08:02Speaker 17: Rover and then all of a sudden you pull out
- 1:08:04Speaker 17: of the range rovere shop and every car that goes
- 1:08:06Speaker 17: by the range rovere.
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: By everybody has it. So it's just your mind.
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: We talked about it a lot too, like now you
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: start to look for things, because I was saying on
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: the podcast.
- 1:08:15Speaker 5: Like even like when you as a kid in the
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: school bus, like we.
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: Drive past homes, but like the grass is like five
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: feet and the paintship, and you always think, like people
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: don't care about their homes.
- 1:08:27Speaker 5: But that's money that could be in a big that
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: could be.
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: Somebody's in Florida that can't afford to keep it up.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: That could be somebody that's just distressed and needs somebody.
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: So it's like looking for you. I like that, exceptle
- 1:08:38Speaker 5: because it's like a lot of time people.
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: Look for money, but you're literally in that scenario, you're
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: driving past money and you don't even see it.
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: You see it, but you don't see it.
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:08:46Speaker 17: One of the biggest things I thought was BS when
- 1:08:48Speaker 17: it was like, YO, don't go chase money solve problems.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: I never like you know as somebody that was broken
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: had a broke mindset.
- 1:08:54Speaker 17: I thought it was stupid, like, yeah, we gotta go
- 1:08:56Speaker 17: up to the back. But the reality is you need
- 1:08:58Speaker 17: to solve problems. And seeing a house that's abandoned when
- 1:09:02Speaker 17: you're solving so many problems, when you have the taxes
- 1:09:04Speaker 17: of not being paid so the city government is not
- 1:09:07Speaker 17: collecting taxes on the house in the last six years,
- 1:09:09Speaker 17: then you have the neighborhood is depreciating because of the
- 1:09:13Speaker 17: physical status of the house next door to it. So
- 1:09:15Speaker 17: the neighbors hated. Right, then it's not safe. You know,
- 1:09:18Speaker 17: it could be something that's not supposed to be a
- 1:09:20Speaker 17: trap house, right, It.
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: Was just all types of things. So you start, you
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: solve so many problems by fixing that house.
- 1:09:26Speaker 17: You can put people in it that actually are meeting
- 1:09:28Speaker 17: a house, deserving to have a house.
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: Yes a fact, and one of the things that we
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: ain't get to talk about either is mindset, because I
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: know that's real big for you as well, like a
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: lot of even you're speaking engagements is mindset. So we
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: talked about before with the real estate or can you
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: talk about that for.
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: A little bit as far as in the thirty Day
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: challenge man. Yeah, so mindset. Mindset is like the biggest thing.
- 1:09:51Speaker 17: And you know, as black people, we don't address a
- 1:09:54Speaker 17: lot of the things that we have on our mind
- 1:09:56Speaker 17: or just the way we were brought up, right, So
- 1:09:59Speaker 17: we have to challenge is the way we think. You know,
- 1:10:02Speaker 17: everybody who's everybody's grown up different. But you know, I
- 1:10:06Speaker 17: talk about like, so the brain has neurons.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: I don't know if you I don't know if I
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: said this already, but no, no you didn't, but not
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: on Yeah, so the brain, the brain.
- 1:10:14Speaker 17: Has neurons in it, and in order for something to happen,
- 1:10:17Speaker 17: these two neurons fire off at each other like sent
- 1:10:20Speaker 17: electrical pults between each other.
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:10:22Speaker 17: So they say, when you grow up, you are a
- 1:10:25Speaker 17: compromised that the most the ten people you hang around with. Right, So,
- 1:10:28Speaker 17: from your kid to your adult, you hang around on
- 1:10:30Speaker 17: an average of ten people, and you're a fabric.
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: Of those ten people put together, whether it's good or bad.
- 1:10:36Speaker 9: Right.
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: So, being that you start to do things naturally that
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: you just see every day, you start to do it.
- 1:10:41Speaker 9: Right.
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: So an example I usually give is how many you ever.
- 1:10:44Speaker 17: Left work one day and then just ended up in
- 1:10:46Speaker 17: the driveway like you didn't even think about your.
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: Left turn your right turn.
- 1:10:50Speaker 17: So that is your brain just firing off those those
- 1:10:53Speaker 17: neurons that you've done so for so long.
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: So it happens is in order to challenge those thoughts,
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: you have to have a complete opposite thought, right, So
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: your brain fires off these exact.
- 1:11:03Speaker 17: Neurons over and over again to where it says, you know,
- 1:11:05Speaker 17: I'm just gonna throw like an Ethernet cord between these
- 1:11:07Speaker 17: two neurons.
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: That way, I don't have to think about it. It
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: just becomes a natural reaction.
- 1:11:12Speaker 17: So in order to break that high speed connection between
- 1:11:16Speaker 17: those two neurons, you got to have a complete opposite,
- 1:11:18Speaker 17: challenging thought. So for me, it was like when I
- 1:11:21Speaker 17: read the book, so I'm dyslexic. Most of you guys
- 1:11:23Speaker 17: don't do read terribly, right. What would take you two
- 1:11:26Speaker 17: hours to read might take me six days, right, So
- 1:11:29Speaker 17: everything just takes it a little bit longer. So when
- 1:11:31Speaker 17: they came out with like you could listen to books
- 1:11:34Speaker 17: at like thirty one thirty, I read Rich Dad four Dad,
- 1:11:37Speaker 17: and it was just a book. The story I don't
- 1:11:39Speaker 17: even know if it's real story enough, but it made
- 1:11:42Speaker 17: me challenge the way I've just learned everything, and it
- 1:11:44Speaker 17: was like, well, what if everything I learned was wrong?
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: So let me just go through the day and just
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: start challenging myself, challenging my brain.
- 1:11:51Speaker 17: And with that it just started. Things just started happening,
- 1:11:54Speaker 17: and I started learning what money really was right, and
- 1:11:56Speaker 17: then like just everything.
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: So I think the mind set because everything that we
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: want to accomplish this is already out there. Right, it's
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: on the internet. It's for free. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: It's like it's out there.
- 1:12:07Speaker 17: But what happened is the reason why we can't receive
- 1:12:09Speaker 17: it because our mindset is not ready for it. We're
- 1:12:12Speaker 17: not ready to be rich. You know, my man talking
- 1:12:14Speaker 17: about you. You got to forecast that rich. We want
- 1:12:16Speaker 17: the money we have the like, yo, why we want it?
- 1:12:19Speaker 17: So we're conditioned in a way that we just have
- 1:12:22Speaker 17: to change and it just we got to have these
- 1:12:24Speaker 17: provocate conversations. What's so crazy is like this year we've
- 1:12:28Speaker 17: traveled with Dave and I is my director of media,
- 1:12:30Speaker 17: our creative director. We've done over two hundred and sixty
- 1:12:33Speaker 17: thousand miles in a plane this year.
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: Right, and when you're growing a brand, now I'm doing intentionally.
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: You can do it two ways.
- 1:12:40Speaker 17: You can spend a lot of money on Facebook ads
- 1:12:42Speaker 17: and all that stuff, or you can go.
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: Around and touch people's hands and hug people.
- 1:12:47Speaker 9: Right.
- 1:12:47Speaker 17: So what's been so cool is like five ten years ago,
- 1:12:51Speaker 17: these are not not the conversations we would having. This
- 1:12:53Speaker 17: would have been a VIP section for a Little Wain concert.
- 1:12:57Speaker 9: Right.
- 1:12:57Speaker 17: So now we're sitting here talking about how to feel
- 1:12:59Speaker 17: wealth through real estate, how to do things outside.
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: This is if we keep this up for the next
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: ten years, we're gonna change the fabric of this.
- 1:13:06Speaker 9: Right.
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: So we're like beginning of something that is so dupe
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: that we're not talking. We're not doing enormous stuff anymore.
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: And one of the things you told us, like off camera,
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: was like, Yo, I love what y'all doing, and y'all
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: giving it for free. Just give it a free kid,
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: the information it go. Talk about that a little bit.
- 1:13:21Speaker 17: The craziest thing man, people that I looked up to
- 1:13:23Speaker 17: and in the real estate business prior to getting into
- 1:13:26Speaker 17: it would call me once I started to get a
- 1:13:28Speaker 17: little buzz and say what are you doing? Why are
- 1:13:31Speaker 17: you giving this away? One guy he said, Yo, you
- 1:13:34Speaker 17: get to diminish your return. I'm a Facebook group of
- 1:13:36Speaker 17: like ninety something thousand people and we just give away information,
- 1:13:40Speaker 17: the contracts, how to do this.
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: It's a community of us coming together just talking about, yo,
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: how do we do this?
- 1:13:46Speaker 17: How do we help each other? And I remember when
- 1:13:50Speaker 17: I put out one of my videos and it went farrow.
- 1:13:52Speaker 17: I was like, you know what, I'm gonna get ten
- 1:13:54Speaker 17: thousand subscribers and I'm gonna put out a course. And
- 1:13:57Speaker 17: then I started watching this guy named Gary Vee and
- 1:14:00Speaker 17: he was like, nah.
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: Just give it away, give it away, give it away.
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: And I was like, all right, cool, I'm actually making
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: money in real estate.
- 1:14:05Speaker 17: Now I don't need to put a paywall, because I'll
- 1:14:07Speaker 17: put a paywall up.
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: Nobody would have heard of it, read what I mean.
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: So I'm just gonna put that I'm gonna give it away.
- 1:14:13Speaker 17: And as I gave away, and I know that things
- 1:14:15Speaker 17: your mom said, give it away, it's he'll come back
- 1:14:17Speaker 17: ten times better.
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: Right, It was true. I just gave it away. Then
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: it started feeling good.
- 1:14:23Speaker 17: Then it was like every time I'm talking to somebody like, yo,
- 1:14:27Speaker 17: you see any abandoned houses.
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: Like you want to make it back. So I just
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: started sharing the story with everybody like, yo, you can
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: do it too. I'm nothing special. I could barely read
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: I'm nothing special, trust me.
- 1:14:39Speaker 17: So you know, being able to give away stuff has
- 1:14:42Speaker 17: been able to grow my brand. It's the same way
- 1:14:43Speaker 17: you guys are doing it. It's like, I know, you
- 1:14:45Speaker 17: get approached and emails every day about who you want
- 1:14:49Speaker 17: to work with and stuff like that. Like on a
- 1:14:50Speaker 17: man Cas said, y'all have to work with anybody, anybody.
- 1:14:54Speaker 17: I'm sure you guys don't need it. So you get
- 1:14:56Speaker 17: to decide to pick who you want to work with.
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: So being able to give away this information now is
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: not the time to charge. Now.
- 1:15:01Speaker 17: You got to charge for this thing, right, but the
- 1:15:04Speaker 17: basic information to be able to fire off the different
- 1:15:06Speaker 17: thoughts that everybody needs in this room.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: You got to give that away.
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: And it's like it's a little different from a rapper
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: and have a mixtapes before the album comes out, like
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: you develop a core following.
- 1:15:16Speaker 5: And when it's time to charge for a service or
- 1:15:18Speaker 5: an event, it's no problem.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: They feel guilty not paying because they've gotten so much
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: for free games.
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: Like that's kind of like we would us.
- 1:15:27Speaker 7: We were out last night, the true story, right, we
- 1:15:30Speaker 7: walked in and we're in DC, right, So we walk
- 1:15:32Speaker 7: in and guy was like, are you losing?
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: I'm like, what's up? Mean?
- 1:15:35Speaker 7: He's like, I'm like, we'll just get some drakes. He's like, nah,
- 1:15:38Speaker 7: you I can't take your money.
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: You give it meat too much. I'm like sure. He's like.
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: I was like, well, let me have some fust. It's
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: a good feeling when people come up to me.
- 1:15:51Speaker 17: And if people come to you and be like, yo,
- 1:15:52Speaker 17: that podcast changed my life, It's like, you don't know
- 1:15:55Speaker 17: what that feels like.
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: Somebody say you changed my life. I'm like, how you know?
- 1:16:00Speaker 17: I'm not you know what I'm saying. Some guy was like, yo,
- 1:16:02Speaker 17: my mom wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for you.
- 1:16:04Speaker 17: I'm like, yo, that's touching.
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: Be relive to start crying, you know what I mean.
- 1:16:09Speaker 17: And you know, he was like, yo, I was able
- 1:16:11Speaker 17: to do what you said in real estate, got this
- 1:16:13Speaker 17: money and I was able to pay for my mom's procedure.
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: Right. And I remember I did a live event. A
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: guy came to me.
- 1:16:19Speaker 9: I never forget his name.
- 1:16:20Speaker 17: He came to me and he was like yo, and
- 1:16:22Speaker 17: he came up to be real aggressive, right, So you
- 1:16:25Speaker 17: know I was in the military. I this crazy stuff.
- 1:16:27Speaker 17: I always, you know, protect myself. He came to be mad, aggressing.
- 1:16:29Speaker 17: He's like, oh crap, you gotta do something. And he
- 1:16:32Speaker 17: was like, Yo, I love you.
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: My man was like straight thucked out. He was like,
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: he's I love me. I was like and he started
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: telling me his story and he started to cry and
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: I was like, yo, chill, He'll be up cry with you.
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: But he was like, man, you changed my life and
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: his he put me work. It was just so much
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: that he talked about. Man, and it's just it's just
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: a feeling to be able to give this stuff away.
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: It is where it's I enjoy that more than he did.
- 1:16:56Speaker 7: There's another piece that is extremely feeling too, and I've
- 1:16:58Speaker 7: seen it especially this week, and like when they get
- 1:17:01Speaker 7: to see the people who've been on the show, like Yo,
- 1:17:03Speaker 7: can't cannot cannot meet their company, man, I just got
- 1:17:05Speaker 7: to say thank you to them?
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: Or can I meet Wall Street trapper? Or can I
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: where's this business? I gotta find it.
- 1:17:10Speaker 7: Like the fact that they're seeking these people who they
- 1:17:12Speaker 7: didn't know before, it's like amazing, man.
- 1:17:15Speaker 17: It's it's it's crazy man, Like for us to be
- 1:17:18Speaker 17: giving away information and to be educating people, and we
- 1:17:23Speaker 17: were like, it's like we play.
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: Over here, you know what I mean, the league, so
- 1:17:28Speaker 3: but it's it's like it's just it's just crazy though,
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: but our impact is real. Noah, it's really. I was
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: sitting on the love as well as that.
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: So the good thing with your legion is that where
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: we're all inclusive tent and literally we've had I think
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: four guests that went to Ward the School of Business
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: right and people, and that's the best business school in
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: the world, and people who really loved that.
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: Episodes.
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: We have people like Wall Street trapper Derry Falcon that
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: already returning Citizen season.
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: Return, So that's in our vocabulary with that, it's the fact.
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: But the thing about it is that there's somebody everybody
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: to identify with. Like everybody's not a street person, everybody's
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: not a highly educated person, right, everybody.
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: Is not a nerd.
- 1:18:10Speaker 5: Sow people are a nerds.
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: So it's like it's important to highlight everybody because there's
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: one person that identifies with that. Like somebody identifies with
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: John Henry, somebody identifies with you, somebody identifies with even
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: me and Troy they're gonna tell us.
- 1:18:25Speaker 9: To see what your leision.
- 1:18:26Speaker 5: Has really become. Is like a mentorship program in a
- 1:18:29Speaker 5: sense where it's.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: Like you can actually learn from somebody that you can
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: identify with personally and then follow their journey and it's
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: like a really dope thing.
- 1:18:39Speaker 5: So I wanted to ask you, like specifically, what got you.
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: Like real estate.
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: We talked about real estate a lot, but wholesale If
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: anybody's not familiar, you didn't watch the episode. Whole sealing
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: is when you don't actually buy the property, you're just
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: like the middleman in the transaction. And I think wholesaling
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: is something that is something that a lot of people
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: can benefit in real estate because you don't need money.
- 1:19:00Speaker 5: To start, right.
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: That's something that a lot of times people it stops
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: them from getting in real estate because they don't have money.
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: You just need hustle.
- 1:19:06Speaker 7: I say, to know what it is a lot of
- 1:19:08Speaker 7: times it's like they don't actually have a travel from
- 1:19:11Speaker 7: that foundation of what the word wholesale needs with a process.
- 1:19:14Speaker 5: So you said, you you made a million dollar on
- 1:19:16Speaker 5: for real estate and never had.
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: A workage, right, I never borrowed any money from the
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: bank ever.
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: Yeah, So all right, can you talk about like why
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: wholesaling is just so beautiful to you as opposed.
- 1:19:28Speaker 17: To because you know, the thought of being in real
- 1:19:33Speaker 17: estate is you got to have money, right, and it's
- 1:19:36Speaker 17: not like so like a lot of us got started
- 1:19:40Speaker 17: like that whole role right, Yes, a millionaires right there,
- 1:19:43Speaker 17: all off of just starting with wholesale. Now, as you grow,
- 1:19:47Speaker 17: you get learned more and you start to acquire property.
- 1:19:50Speaker 17: I've never had to go to the bank my man
- 1:19:51Speaker 17: saying he put down forty thousand, that's real, it's called
- 1:19:54Speaker 17: hard money.
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: And then if he does a few more.
- 1:19:57Speaker 17: Times, he could go to that same guy and say,
- 1:19:59Speaker 17: I don't paying your hard money's feasible. We got an
- 1:20:02Speaker 17: open relationship I needed at ten percent, you know. So
- 1:20:06Speaker 17: for me, like wholesaling opened up the door for me
- 1:20:10Speaker 17: to be able to get a bag, get educated on
- 1:20:14Speaker 17: this field, and then actually become a physical investor like
- 1:20:18Speaker 17: own things and scale that operation.
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: Yeah. So I never needed a bank today his day,
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: I still don't need a bank. They hit me up
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: all the time. I want to give me money.
- 1:20:28Speaker 5: Good problem, Yeah problem. So can we talk about can
- 1:20:33Speaker 5: we talk about JA making?
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: Yeah, Troy, choice choice you're.
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: Making, get your making yeah, yeah, and I see you
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: doing some big things out Jamaica.
- 1:20:42Speaker 5: That's no thing to arn Alisia.
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: And that's why even one I'm glad we was able
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: to do this is that we we we never want
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: to limit ourselves to any We're like all over the
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: world and where we've reached number one in like I
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: think ten different countries here, all the islands to make
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: a trendy there everywhere forts.
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: So we want to give people a broad vision.
- 1:21:04Speaker 3: The earth is big, and a.
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: Lot of times people feel like they can't get money
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: in the area, or it's saturated or it's too hot price,
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: But who told you to stay in that area?
- 1:21:14Speaker 5: And the thing about it is a lot of times
- 1:21:16Speaker 5: we don't. We don't leave our like ten.
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: Mile radiance of where we grow up at, but are
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: Atlsia is the whole world, but everybody all over the world.
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: So I really like the play that you're doing in
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: Jamaica right now.
- 1:21:29Speaker 5: So can you talk about that?
- 1:21:30Speaker 17: Yeah, So my parents in Jamaican and my mom and
- 1:21:32Speaker 17: dad and you know, you just you don't always have
- 1:21:36Speaker 17: to invest in America. So we bought property in Jamaica.
- 1:21:39Speaker 17: One that building my mom and house cause years she's
- 1:21:42Speaker 17: retired next year. I don't know if you're familiar with
- 1:21:44Speaker 17: Helpshire Beach outside of the.
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: King's not really from Jamaica. It don't matter first generations
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: because he's like from part halfway Jamaica, right, so you
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: can go that he eats the food he likes to,
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: you know, be around Jamaicas. So you want to say, like,
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: you know you are like me, But what up? We
- 1:22:11Speaker 3: bought some beach from property. We're building an apartment complex
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: in Jamaica. It's not huge. We're starting like with an
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: eight unit and then we'll keep keep leveling up. But
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: you know it's something good.
- 1:22:21Speaker 17: The reason why I know is because Ralph Lauren is
- 1:22:23Speaker 17: trying to buy the property next to ours.
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: So you know, you got to get on before that happens,
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: you know.
- 1:22:30Speaker 17: But always reach back wherever your roots are, wherever you
- 1:22:32Speaker 17: feel comfortable at, go back.
- 1:22:33Speaker 3: There and it'd be something that's in my family forever.
- 1:22:36Speaker 5: And that's that's the top part too.
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: Because I saw you put on Instagram you had like
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: the architect my family.
- 1:22:41Speaker 5: That's family, Yeah, my architect, that's my cousin. What everybody?
- 1:22:44Speaker 5: Because I see like four.
- 1:22:45Speaker 17: People my brother's and c all so he runs the operations.
- 1:22:49Speaker 17: My cousin draws the plans and he's also an engineer.
- 1:22:52Speaker 17: And then I have a cousin that's a realtive.
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: So everybody, everybody, everybody family hasn't been working a pay right.
- 1:23:01Speaker 9: Yeah, so how is it?
- 1:23:02Speaker 5: How is it working with family? How is it working
- 1:23:04Speaker 5: with family?
- 1:23:05Speaker 17: It was I went against everything that everybody said. You know,
- 1:23:08Speaker 17: I think the reason why it's hard to work with
- 1:23:10Speaker 17: family is because you don't have an open line of communication.
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: And I think being the middle.
- 1:23:15Speaker 17: Child, all my older siblings work for me, work with me,
- 1:23:20Speaker 17: not for me. We all work together because it's it's
- 1:23:21Speaker 17: the same family. Because when something happened is in my family,
- 1:23:26Speaker 17: we all got to take care of you. And it
- 1:23:28Speaker 17: don't matter right now. I got the bag and it.
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: Might be my brother next time. So we all just
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: I enjoy it because the trust issue is never there.
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: Me and my brother argue absolutely, but we always come
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: back to a sense of yo.
- 1:23:41Speaker 17: At the end of the day, we're brothers. Like you
- 1:23:43Speaker 17: can't like we can't do this, like mom will how
- 1:23:45Speaker 17: to step in? No Mom never had, You don't even
- 1:23:47Speaker 17: know about it.
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: That's one of the.
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: Things that we speak about a lot as well as
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: far as family wealth, and that's something that's not likely
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: talk about enough.
- 1:23:58Speaker 5: Like even when we interviewed Caesar be the MBI's partner.
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: And that's one thing that you like about his whole
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: operation is like his brother is the rent collective, his
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: wife is his partner.
- 1:24:06Speaker 5: He got like when you go to his office, it's
- 1:24:09Speaker 5: like Dominican mafia.
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: Like he's every five minutes, somebody's walking with an envelope.
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: He just got to school and it's named after his daughter.
- 1:24:17Speaker 7: The school's going to be his new apartment complex, but
- 1:24:19Speaker 7: it's named after his daughter. Every wee were there, like
- 1:24:22Speaker 7: every job, another person with an enveload with.
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: An envelope, money, a bunch of Yeah, he's like Don corleone.
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: But the thing about is that we talked about entrepreneurship
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: and all that. But the goal is not to just
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: become successful for yourself, like just got some selfishness, Like
- 1:24:39Speaker 2: the goal is to empower your friends, your family, your community,
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: your children, like because ultimately it's like united we stand
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: and divided we fall, right like you can only you
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: can only go so far by yourself.
- 1:24:51Speaker 17: Yeah, I mean, and you know that the real fan
- 1:24:54Speaker 17: said he made a meal, and he was like, I
- 1:24:56Speaker 17: gotta reach back when you hit a number and you're like, yo,
- 1:24:58Speaker 17: you'll need no one that I always say every it's like,
- 1:25:01Speaker 17: somebody needs you to be rich.
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: Don't be selfish.
- 1:25:03Speaker 17: So if you if you like, I got some friends
- 1:25:05Speaker 17: that we have conversations, they be like, yeah, I don't
- 1:25:08Speaker 17: want to be rich.
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: I just want to be comfortable. When you say that,
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: you're being selfish because.
- 1:25:13Speaker 17: Other people need you to be rich, because some people
- 1:25:15Speaker 17: don't have the mindset that will never get there and
- 1:25:17Speaker 17: you can't reach back and get them because you just
- 1:25:19Speaker 17: want to be comfortable.
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: So I want the everything. I want it all, So
- 1:25:22Speaker 3: when I decide to give it out, I'm to give
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: it out to who I was to see free. That's
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: what loved us. You got you gotta go out there.
- 1:25:29Speaker 17: And get all you can because you got to be
- 1:25:30Speaker 17: able to get fast and true earlier leaders and fashion.
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: I'm going to give you a change both. Yes, right.
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: So it's like when he said on bass, he was
- 1:25:38Speaker 3: like to me, you're bro unless everyone's rich next dred percent.
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 1:25:43Speaker 17: If I don't want to be the only one pulled
- 1:25:45Speaker 17: out of my car, we can't have a week in
- 1:25:47Speaker 17: the change, right.
- 1:25:48Speaker 3: That's why I got rich man. We got we think
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: to the change right. If someone faults, we don't pick
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: that one up.
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: And that that's think to think about. Ear your legion too,
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: Ear your leagion is a family. And so yeah, you
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: see me and Troy.
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: What you got, Mike? We got whatever? Man, We always
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: say your name, but I don't think people know who
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: you got, like.
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: Rady head, right, we got we got his brother, then
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: we got Jama, we got what got mt the mortgage guy.
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: And it's like a team. Man. Yeah, it's a bunch
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: of us. Other people have not even had the time.
- 1:26:17Speaker 7: Talking about not just gonna do that, but I mean
- 1:26:20Speaker 7: every time we film if years out by.
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: I love, I Love.
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: You want a point on that.
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: We try to call you a second husband. You want
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: to do this all these people stuff for me. But yeah,
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: it's like there, it's like all of us grew up together.
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: So it's like me, Troy, Mike, we tomorrow. We all
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: know each other for twenty thirty years. Bam, that's Mike's brother.
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: So it's like the issue could never be that serious
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: because we know we got to talk to each other eventually,
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: like like I might not speak to Mike for like
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: two weeks, that's the fact, but it's likely, you know
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: what I.
- 1:27:07Speaker 3: Mean, so that we just started talking this weekend.
- 1:27:11Speaker 17: That's fun when you can have your friends and your
- 1:27:13Speaker 17: family and your business if you possible. But it's it's
- 1:27:15Speaker 17: it's it's work, and you're supposed to want to have.
- 1:27:18Speaker 3: To put in more work to have your friends, your
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: family business, but you just set the rules in the guidelines.
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: I think it's fun because that like when we do
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: that Jamaica.
- 1:27:25Speaker 17: Trip, when I'm flying, my own family's there first class.
- 1:27:29Speaker 17: We're all going because we got work to dorough, you know,
- 1:27:32Speaker 17: so well, yeah we're gonna we're gonna earn our leasion.
- 1:27:35Speaker 17: Matter fact, when we was flying back, we flew back,
- 1:27:37Speaker 17: the president or Prime Minister they call it of.
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: Jamaica was like right there. I could have touched him,
- 1:27:43Speaker 3: but he came on to plane like a bass. But
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: you know, it's just it's just cool, man to be
- 1:27:48Speaker 3: able to hit the road and go out with your
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: family and make money with your family.
- 1:27:52Speaker 17: You know, brother buying a new car because he wanted
- 1:27:55Speaker 17: and every my mom's mad happy.
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: Because she saved the most money in the life ever,
- 1:27:59Speaker 3: just stuff like that, And that's what it's about too,
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: as far as it's about, it's.
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: About empowering your friends and having because I always say,
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: you only.
- 1:28:05Speaker 5: Want to go so far other people in your group chat,
- 1:28:07Speaker 5: because it's like everybody that's a fact.
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: Yeah, because it's like even even.
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: For us, like we've had group chats for years just
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: talking about nonsense like who's the best rapper basketball, And
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: it's like remooved myself from those now and it's like
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: now we have in group chats and we're talking about
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: like we're gonna get this real estate play in Cleveland,
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: We're gonna do this, these are your legion is going
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: to do, write a book, We're gonna have a new branch.
- 1:28:38Speaker 5: And it actually feels different.
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: It feels different when it's like five people all on
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: the same path, like working and it's easier because you
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: don't got the everything yourself. And it's like now you're
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: all on the same way financially, and it's like y'all
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: gonna grow together because it's like positive peer pressure, right,
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: Like you thinking about that positive peer pressure, it was
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: like you're in private school, because I went to public
- 1:28:59Speaker 2: school in school, so in public school, as long as
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: you're a curse.
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: To teach out, you gotta be to show up and
- 1:29:07Speaker 3: don't curse her out. But it's like in private school.
- 1:29:11Speaker 9: But it's like in private.
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: School, you don't want to be the dumbest kid in
- 1:29:16Speaker 3: the class.
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: Nobody wants to be the dumbest kid in class, So
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: you're gonna push yourself to be at least middle because
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: you don't want to be looked at.
- 1:29:23Speaker 3: It as like, oh, why is he here just to
- 1:29:25Speaker 3: play basketball? You know what I'm saying.
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: So it's like that's a positive fear pressure. So it's
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: the same thing with your environment. It's like if you're
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: the only person successful and everybody else you subconsciously start
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: to self sabotage yourself. You don't feel good because if
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: you have any if you're a decent person, you don't
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: feel good to do good and everybody else is doing that.
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: Like it does like if I if I have a
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: if I have a Roles voice and I'm driving through
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: the worst neighborhood, I don't.
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: I don't feel good about that. It's like I said, like,
- 1:29:55Speaker 3: and I'm saying it's like you feel guilty.
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: So you either remove yourself totally or you start to
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: subconsciously self savatarge so.
- 1:30:02Speaker 5: You can be on that level. And that happens all
- 1:30:05Speaker 5: the time.
- 1:30:05Speaker 11: I see all the time.
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: You see people make very strange decisions and it's like,
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: why you do that?
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: They don't even know why they're doing that, but they're
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: doing that because they want to be equal with their friends.
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: They don't want to be the one friend that always
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: gets the attention, that's outshining everybody.
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: So we talk about business a lot.
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: For us, it's extremely important to manage your relationships.
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: I think, manage your relationships and build together. Yeah you know,
- 1:30:30Speaker 3: I think we said that, yessay.
- 1:30:32Speaker 7: We actually when we were recording the podcast, it was like, yo,
- 1:30:35Speaker 7: as soon as you change your conversations, right, you're going
- 1:30:37Speaker 7: to see that you will gain welcome of knowledge first.
- 1:30:41Speaker 3: Right, change your conversations, man, And sometimes you got to
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: get rid of some friends temperari I have to up perfectly.
- 1:30:46Speaker 3: Oh yeah, make sure too, But can I put you
- 1:30:51Speaker 3: all last ones in? Yeah?
- 1:30:52Speaker 9: You know, I'm not.
- 1:30:53Speaker 3: Yeah, oh cool, but you know what I like about these?
- 1:30:56Speaker 17: So, first of all, it was an honor for me
- 1:30:58Speaker 17: to be on this podcast period, right, because I was
- 1:31:02Speaker 17: you asked Daves.
- 1:31:03Speaker 3: We traveled a lot together.
- 1:31:05Speaker 17: When I traveled the car, I don't listen to music, right,
- 1:31:08Speaker 17: and let's just like something new just came out as
- 1:31:10Speaker 17: a banger. But when I listened to you guys all
- 1:31:13Speaker 17: the time on the way to the airport. In the
- 1:31:15Speaker 17: airport and what was cool.
- 1:31:17Speaker 3: When I got that inbox, that.
- 1:31:19Speaker 17: Phone call, whatever it was, I was like, davey, look
- 1:31:21Speaker 17: at this is crazy. So they was like, yo, when
- 1:31:24Speaker 17: you want to come to York. I was like, nomorrow, Okay, tomorrow,
- 1:31:26Speaker 17: just line it up. So when I got to New
- 1:31:28Speaker 17: York and we pulled up and it was at the house,
- 1:31:32Speaker 17: I was like, I like these guys even more so
- 1:31:34Speaker 17: because it's an example of taking imperfect action.
- 1:31:40Speaker 3: I'm in the dining room of a house on the
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: top ten podcast.
- 1:31:46Speaker 17: In the world, you know what I'm saying, So to
- 1:31:49Speaker 17: be able to go out and take this perfect action.
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: They didn't know Dave was helping them with the camera
- 1:31:54Speaker 3: set up when we were in there, so they didn't
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: even care. It was like, we're going to put this
- 1:31:58Speaker 3: out and do it. We don't care if we know everything.
- 1:32:00Speaker 3: We're just gonna do it.
- 1:32:02Speaker 17: And you she'd look at these guys and take it
- 1:32:03Speaker 17: as a testament to go out that everything you learned
- 1:32:06Speaker 17: over this weekend, everything you're sitting there watching on YouTube
- 1:32:09Speaker 17: and trying to perfect, don't perfect it.
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: Take imperfect massive action. And if you do that, that's
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: gonna put you in a position where you like these guys.
- 1:32:17Speaker 3: They go from the dining room to the other wood
- 1:32:20Speaker 3: floor in the NBA ring. So take imperfect. Actually give
- 1:32:24Speaker 3: your guys around their partner. It takes a lot of
- 1:32:27Speaker 3: guests to pick yourself on the past. I appreciate that.
- 1:32:31Speaker 3: Thank you, thank you. I appreciate that. I appreciate that. Brother.
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: All right, so before we wrap this.
- 1:32:35Speaker 5: Up, we want to get some questions from my man Max.
- 1:32:37Speaker 3: If you have a few questions. Crazy up you ever
- 1:32:43Speaker 3: do you're posted Tim pretty rust really gotta site back.
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: You're taking that you get watching all this with.
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: Pep the question so he said on YouTube. He he
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: posted on Instagram. He posted a site or used to
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: one of them. He posted a site.
- 1:32:58Speaker 3: Where it's a generate A lead generator, right, lead generator
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: can take pretty like list created different. You're gonna hire that.
- 1:33:08Speaker 17: It might be listsource dot com. Yeah, that's where you
- 1:33:11Speaker 17: can find like So if you play with that and
- 1:33:12Speaker 17: I have some videos on it. But if you play
- 1:33:14Speaker 17: with it, like say you want to find out all.
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: The houses that all right, may give an example we're
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: gonna deep say, for example, if you want an owner
- 1:33:23Speaker 3: of a house that is sixty five plus, that's a
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: two story house that they own it for fifteen plus years.
- 1:33:28Speaker 17: Well, in our business, those people are downsigns, called the
- 1:33:32Speaker 17: baby boomers, so they don't.
- 1:33:33Speaker 3: Need two stories. It's an empty nester now, so they
- 1:33:36Speaker 3: want to downsize the house. So we can pull lists
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: like that and contact people like that so that we
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: can see if they're interested in selling. So list source
- 1:33:43Speaker 3: you can create all types of lists, but that's that's
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: where you can find with that, right, Yeah, quick question, bro,
- 1:33:48Speaker 3: yes sir. From a content perspective, like, how do you
- 1:33:51Speaker 3: decide what you're gonna put on high tub?
- 1:33:53Speaker 11: What's you're gonna found you too?
- 1:33:55Speaker 2: He said, he said, how do you decide what you're
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: gonna put on Instagram and what you're.
- 1:33:58Speaker 5: Gonna put on YouTube? As far as content? Yeah, so
- 1:34:00Speaker 5: that's important.
- 1:34:01Speaker 17: So we have we spent a lot of time, you know,
- 1:34:04Speaker 17: you guys know it's a lot to put this stuff together.
- 1:34:07Speaker 17: So what we do is we have a content model
- 1:34:09Speaker 17: where we take it long format content. Right, So we've
- 1:34:12Speaker 17: been traveling for the last whatever, right, so we got here.
- 1:34:15Speaker 17: Dave's always got the camera. I've always miked up.
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: So we take the long format of video, which you
- 1:34:22Speaker 3: so he record for three days if you're gonna see
- 1:34:24Speaker 3: a twenty minute video, So we'll take that twenty.
- 1:34:27Speaker 17: Minute video and then we'll turn that into thirty pieces
- 1:34:29Speaker 17: of content. Right, So we'll take a thirty minute video,
- 1:34:33Speaker 17: and then I'll take fifteen second clips and put them
- 1:34:36Speaker 17: on ig Story. I'll take one minute clips and put
- 1:34:39Speaker 17: them on the regular IG.
- 1:34:40Speaker 3: I'll also throw them on Snapchat. I'll put them on
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: all these other places.
- 1:34:43Speaker 17: But it always leads back to that main vertical of
- 1:34:47Speaker 17: YouTube content, right, YouTube cuts to check right. The reason
- 1:34:50Speaker 17: why I can keep putting out free information is because
- 1:34:52Speaker 17: YouTube is gonna pay for the staff. I got four
- 1:34:55Speaker 17: staff members that only deal with like putting out content
- 1:34:57Speaker 17: and brand. So if I don't have the YouTube money
- 1:35:00Speaker 17: over there, then I gotta slow down on the content
- 1:35:01Speaker 17: for that. So everything we do, we have a big
- 1:35:04Speaker 17: macro and we break it down to the micro pieces.
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: The gutter model that's there, you go. That's why I
- 1:35:09Speaker 3: gave one hundred and fifty thousand dollars to speak. We
- 1:35:11Speaker 3: got a true question belief. That's I'll see you got
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: a question, man, what's up? Yeah, I just wanted to
- 1:35:15Speaker 3: a weird Yeah. Good, that's a health thank you. I've
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: just tut to you yesterday talking BUSSI. But it was
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: a little bit deeper in our partner.
- 1:35:27Speaker 2: With my brothers, my older brother in Deep Blood as
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: Oire life, the members good luck you.
- 1:35:33Speaker 3: Know this because yeah, we never had a relationship. Seeing
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: we've got together a business center. You know, we talked
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: about other things.
- 1:35:43Speaker 9: How we do live and.
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: I'm leader. Now you're we're able to see if a
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: better rout it. It's like a part of it.
- 1:35:51Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: So it's was a lot deeper. And I saw a videos.
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: I'm saying that somebody must be growing most.
- 1:35:57Speaker 11: Like the music and it's a crazy play.
- 1:36:01Speaker 3: That was a certain and now you getting we have.
- 1:36:11Speaker 17: Well I appreciate that, man, congratulations because that that business
- 1:36:16Speaker 17: sparked that conversation.
- 1:36:17Speaker 3: For the guy that therapy patch you what up?
- 1:36:23Speaker 9: Just stuff man, Matt, I'm making a yeah.
- 1:36:31Speaker 3: But and we and here's the crazy thing.
- 1:36:33Speaker 17: I used the same strategies that made me a lot
- 1:36:35Speaker 17: of money here over there.
- 1:36:37Speaker 3: So this is this is a je So I found
- 1:36:39Speaker 3: out all the people that own land in Jamaica that
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: are are we call America foreign right.
- 1:36:47Speaker 17: So when you moved it, when you moved from Jamaica
- 1:36:49Speaker 17: and go to America, most of them never come back
- 1:36:51Speaker 17: and they owe taxes, right.
- 1:36:54Speaker 3: So what we did is we we crossed reference all
- 1:36:56Speaker 3: of that and we started reaching out to the people.
- 1:36:58Speaker 17: Matter of fact, the lady I bought land from or
- 1:37:00Speaker 17: late another piece of land I'm getting, she lives in Maryland.
- 1:37:03Speaker 3: She paid her taxes in six years, so she was
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: originally like, oh, we bought apart family, and then I
- 1:37:10Speaker 3: was like, well, I give you some money for it now.
- 1:37:13Speaker 17: And she already owned six years in back taxes. But
- 1:37:15Speaker 17: unlike America, Jamaica doesn't really go after you aggressively for
- 1:37:18Speaker 17: those taxes.
- 1:37:19Speaker 3: So there's a slew of.
- 1:37:20Speaker 17: Land in the entire Jamaica that people have moved back
- 1:37:23Speaker 17: to America and they don't a lot of undeveloped projects underdeveloped, like.
- 1:37:29Speaker 7: It seems like people had the idea to build like
- 1:37:31Speaker 7: mansions and it just stopped.
- 1:37:33Speaker 17: Yeah, a lot of this drug money that they get
- 1:37:35Speaker 17: locked up and we try to think about people.
- 1:37:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean when they come to America, they.
- 1:37:39Speaker 17: Get locked up and then you see a concrete marrion
- 1:37:41Speaker 17: and is not nothing but like it cakes in I'm
- 1:37:44Speaker 17: pretty nice.
- 1:37:44Speaker 3: But in Cason right now, you can buy a quarter
- 1:37:46Speaker 3: acre and put eight apartments on there.
- 1:37:48Speaker 17: So you can put eight apartments on there for like
- 1:37:49Speaker 17: almost four hundred thousand dollars and you'll make close.
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: To a million dollars selling those.
- 1:37:54Speaker 9: You know a lot.
- 1:37:56Speaker 17: So if you own the land really clear and you
- 1:37:58Speaker 17: start twenty percent of the project, so that could just
- 1:38:00Speaker 17: be putting on the retaining wall.
- 1:38:02Speaker 3: To make it will give you the rest of the
- 1:38:03Speaker 3: money to build out the product. Similar like a hard
- 1:38:06Speaker 3: money loan.
- 1:38:06Speaker 17: They'll give it to you for twelve months so you
- 1:38:09Speaker 17: can build out the product the product, and then when
- 1:38:11Speaker 17: you sell you can repay them.
- 1:38:13Speaker 3: So what you're saying is wholesale and lead twenty one
- 1:38:16Speaker 3: is you make right.
- 1:38:17Speaker 17: We may do like a smaller retreat of people that
- 1:38:20Speaker 17: really want to go like get down, like treating perfect exactly,
- 1:38:24Speaker 17: want it, take it perfect action.
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I would love that. That'd be dope, my fel
- 1:38:28Speaker 3: I'm saying I'm not that was it not dope? That
- 1:38:32Speaker 3: would not happen. What advice would you give someone wants
- 1:38:35Speaker 3: to get started in whole sale but as a full
- 1:38:37Speaker 3: time career in sales? And does it underestimate you? You
- 1:38:40Speaker 3: know what it takes, the bill, the pipeline, Yeah you know,
- 1:38:42Speaker 3: I can try nine to five time.
- 1:38:44Speaker 17: And take you No, the mission step in the build systems,
- 1:38:46Speaker 17: a car, about time to drive the job as a prospect,
- 1:38:49Speaker 17: what advice would you lay?
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: And I made a post. I believe this more than
- 1:38:52Speaker 3: about you know, your excuses being bigger than you than
- 1:38:57Speaker 3: you you're why so when those switch, No, I'm not
- 1:39:02Speaker 3: picking on you because I think the same thing came
- 1:39:03Speaker 3: from me. You Oh my bad.
- 1:39:05Speaker 17: So what happens is you got to make that switch.
- 1:39:09Speaker 17: You're saying you're busy from eight to five, what happened
- 1:39:12Speaker 17: to the rest of the.
- 1:39:12Speaker 3: Twenty four hours?
- 1:39:14Speaker 9: Right?
- 1:39:15Speaker 17: So you got to you gotta carve that time out
- 1:39:17Speaker 17: and find twoes that help you be somewhat present even
- 1:39:20Speaker 17: if you're not right. So one is like regulars voymails, voicemails,
- 1:39:24Speaker 17: r vms.
- 1:39:25Speaker 9: Stuff like that.
- 1:39:26Speaker 17: But you working at eight to five should never stop
- 1:39:28Speaker 17: you from getting the bad because if you're gonna work
- 1:39:30Speaker 17: eight hours for somebody else. I hope you're willing to
- 1:39:32Speaker 17: go put in twelve yourself, come on.
- 1:39:34Speaker 3: Right, and that's how you and you do that and
- 1:39:36Speaker 3: you take that imperfect action. It's gonna switch man fast.
- 1:39:39Speaker 5: And when you when you're working for yourself, it don't
- 1:39:41Speaker 5: feel like work.
- 1:39:42Speaker 3: Never, it's totally different. I'm working right now, feeling great.
- 1:39:45Speaker 2: Like when you work, when you're working for somebody else,
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: you're looking at your watch. When you're working for yourself,
- 1:39:54Speaker 2: full sleep with the clothes on happens all the time. Time,
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: It happens all time. Like it's a difference. It's a difference.
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: So sleep ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:40:06Speaker 3: Appreciate you.
- 1:40:07Speaker 9: Yeah, this is this is this is extremely humbling. But
- 1:40:15Speaker 9: like I said, me and Destroyed and.
- 1:40:16Speaker 2: The whole uner Leasion team we're nothing more than just vessels,
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: regular people that just did it. Yeah, and it's like
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: in eleven months, if we can come this far, every
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: one of you can can do whatever you want to do.
- 1:40:30Speaker 2: So if we can serve as any source of inspiration, motivation, whatever,
- 1:40:37Speaker 2: we gladly take that because you know, it's something that
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: we didn't have. We never knew anything about a podcast.
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: We didn't know anything about still learning media training. We
- 1:40:46Speaker 2: had no media training. We have none of that. So
- 1:40:50Speaker 2: it's like sometimes you just gotta go and like you said,
- 1:40:53Speaker 2: imperfect action.
- 1:40:54Speaker 5: That's what it's about.
- 1:40:55Speaker 17: And I'm gonna say something that what we're a part
- 1:40:58Speaker 17: of now is gonna be spoken of out in history later.
- 1:41:01Speaker 3: I promise you what we're going through right.
- 1:41:03Speaker 17: Now and what we're doing for each other will be
- 1:41:06Speaker 17: something they'll speak about.
- 1:41:07Speaker 3: Thirty years from now. I mark my work.
- 1:41:10Speaker 5: That's a sacrond.
- 1:41:12Speaker 6: We we actually met him through one of our former alumni,
- 1:41:15Speaker 6: Chris Coy. We had an event in d C in June,
- 1:41:19Speaker 6: and now we met Ronnie. He just hit us one
- 1:41:21Speaker 6: day in the summer like, yo, guys, I got an
- 1:41:23Speaker 6: idea and.
- 1:41:24Speaker 3: In all that August and I was like, that's the idea.
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: That idea, it's a good and this this is all
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: about once again, this is all about relationships, right. So
- 1:41:34Speaker 2: it's like we met him and he told us he
- 1:41:37Speaker 2: was originally from malvernon what so we we had that connection,
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: but just a really a really really really just good dude.
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: And we met him through another alumni, Chris Coy, was
- 1:41:49Speaker 2: an NFL agent. He asked us to come to DC
- 1:41:52Speaker 2: to speak to his NFL players. So we drove five
- 1:41:55Speaker 2: hours to DC to speak to the players. He was there,
- 1:41:59Speaker 2: we met him. So you don't understand how powerful networking is.
- 1:42:04Speaker 2: You don't understand how powerful relationships are. Just without an expectation,
- 1:42:09Speaker 2: without an expectation, Ye just meet somebody and established a relationship.
- 1:42:12Speaker 5: Like, don't always look to see what they can do
- 1:42:14Speaker 5: for you.
- 1:42:16Speaker 2: Just establish a relationship, see what you can do for them.
- 1:42:18Speaker 2: But you know what I'm saying, because it's like we
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: own now, you know what I'm saying, Like he didn't
- 1:42:22Speaker 2: do it. He didn't do it for that I did.
- 1:42:26Speaker 2: So yeah, so you want to talk to the people
- 1:42:28Speaker 2: and tell me about what you got going on.
- 1:42:30Speaker 18: Because, like Derek, I don't really like this for Shot
- 1:42:34Speaker 18: said most of it to be honest. I mean, the
- 1:42:36Speaker 18: funny thing is, I don't listen to podcast until listen.
- 1:42:38Speaker 18: I didn't listen TOAST.
- 1:42:39Speaker 3: Until this one. My good friend Chris Corn, like you mentioned,
- 1:42:42Speaker 3: he was one of the I think earlier episodes.
- 1:42:46Speaker 5: Excuse me if he was one of the earlier episodes.
- 1:42:48Speaker 5: And Chris hit me up.
- 1:42:50Speaker 18: He was like, you know you aren't your leisure guys
- 1:42:52Speaker 18: they I think you guys have met through a mutual
- 1:42:54Speaker 18: I should.
- 1:42:54Speaker 3: Want my net source.
- 1:42:55Speaker 5: One of them is here as as.
- 1:42:56Speaker 18: Well Sewan from Focus Market, Job Shark.
- 1:43:00Speaker 2: And Alan Johnson from Killer Keller Real Estate. So anyway,
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: Chris has hit me up and said, you know, these
- 1:43:05Speaker 2: guys are incredible.
- 1:43:07Speaker 5: You know, I don't know if.
- 1:43:08Speaker 18: You've heard Chris on the podcasts. He's an centric guy,
- 1:43:11Speaker 18: kind of like Ash Cash. So I took time to
- 1:43:16Speaker 18: listen to that particular episode, went back her Derek's episode,
- 1:43:20Speaker 18: and I was like, okay, So I started episode number.
- 1:43:23Speaker 5: One and you know, and Matt, don't be so hard
- 1:43:26Speaker 5: on yourself.
- 1:43:26Speaker 3: The episode was good to man, that's what.
- 1:43:30Speaker 18: But for me, a lot of these conversations, I mean,
- 1:43:32Speaker 18: whatever you said earlier about the group text, put it
- 1:43:35Speaker 18: on a.
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: T shirt because that's hundred percent accurate my group.
- 1:43:38Speaker 18: Texts literally, you know, more metaphorically, like it's not just
- 1:43:41Speaker 18: the group text obviously, but those conversations have progressed into
- 1:43:45Speaker 18: other things beyond just you know, talking sports and talking
- 1:43:49Speaker 18: things that don't necessarily change your perspective or advantage point.
- 1:43:53Speaker 18: So for me, you know, listening to these things and
- 1:43:55Speaker 18: getting it back for free, it was on parallel you
- 1:43:58Speaker 18: don't get that.
- 1:43:59Speaker 5: And I've done you know, I grew up the money
- 1:44:00Speaker 5: earning my running.
- 1:44:01Speaker 3: It's a little different.
- 1:44:02Speaker 18: But I also works corporate, right, so I get both sides,
- 1:44:07Speaker 18: and this is still something that you can relate to.
- 1:44:09Speaker 9: No matter what, you know, what outfit.
- 1:44:11Speaker 18: I try to put it on in a particular days right,
- 1:44:13Speaker 18: so you know I value what they bring.
- 1:44:16Speaker 3: And you know a lot of us are propt meself.
- 1:44:17Speaker 18: Down the line the networking events, so feel free to
- 1:44:20Speaker 18: you know, say hello and you can engage that way.
- 1:44:23Speaker 3: But I appreciate you guys to do just like a
- 1:44:24Speaker 3: lot of.
- 1:44:25Speaker 18: The other people said, and hopefully it grows too big
- 1:44:26Speaker 18: embettery things for all of us, not just us.
- 1:44:29Speaker 5: Put even in the alarm side, how do you work
- 1:44:30Speaker 5: with them?
- 1:44:31Speaker 9: Sometimes at some point down the line as well, a
- 1:44:33Speaker 9: big shout out to I need everybody to do this right.
- 1:44:35Speaker 3: I'll geed you how to go follow Capital Advanced Groups.
