- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in scripture and relevant for today, March 13th.
- 0:11Building a life that Lasts A lot of people want a life that looks
- 0:15impressive, but deep down what we really need is a life that
- 0:18lasts. A life that does not collapse
- 0:21when pressure comes. A life that is not held together
- 0:24by popularity, appearance, money, or approval.
- 0:28A life built on wisdom, integrity, and compassion.
- 0:32That kind of life does not always get instant attention,
- 0:35but it carries eternal value. Proverbs chapter 12, verses 7 to
- 0:408 says The House of the wicked will be overthrown, but the tent
- 0:44of the upright will flourish. A man is commended according to
- 0:48his prudence. That tells us that what is built
- 0:51on crooked foundations will not stand forever, but the life of
- 0:56the upright, even if it seems small in the eyes of the world,
- 0:59is established by something stronger.
- 1:02Then Job chapter 28 asks where shall wisdom be found and shows
- 1:07us that God alone fully understands it.
- 1:10He set limits to the waters, made channels for the rain, and
- 1:13ordered creation with perfect understanding.
- 1:16Wisdom is not just intelligence, it is seeing life through God's
- 1:19truth. And Job chapter 29, verses 12 to
- 1:2413 gives us a picture of what that wisdom looks like in
- 1:27action. Helping the poor, defending the
- 1:29fatherless, and bringing joy to the hurting.
- 1:33That is the kind of life that leaves a mark.
- 1:35Not just achieving things, but blessing people.
- 1:38Not just getting ahead, but lifting others.
- 1:40Not just knowing facts, but living faithfully in a world
- 1:44that pushes convenience. God calls us to character in a
- 1:48culture that prizes image, God values integrity.
- 1:52In moments where you are tempted to take shortcuts, ignore people
- 1:56in need, or focus only on yourself, remember that true
- 1:59success is not measured by applause.
- 2:02It is measured by faithfulness. A life that lasts is built one
- 2:06decision at a time. Every honest choice, every act
- 2:10of compassion, every prayer for wisdom, every step of obedience
- 2:14matters. God sees it all, and He uses it
- 2:18to build something beautiful in you.
- 2:20You do not have to know everything about the future to
- 2:22live well today. You only need to keep seeking
- 2:25the God who holds wisdom in His hands.
- 2:28Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for
- 2:30showing me what truly matters, building me a life rooted in
- 2:35wisdom, integrity, and compassion.
- 2:37Help me to choose what is right over what is easy and to care
- 2:40for people the way you do. Guide my steps so that my life
- 2:44will honor you and leave a lasting blessing on others in
- 2:48Jesus name, Amen. What if the most important
- 2:51question in your life deserves more than a shallow answer?

- 4:11Now I invite you to spend time with God in today's three-year
- 4:14Bible reading plan. Proverbs chapter 12 verses 7 to
- 4:188 World English Bible The wicked are overthrown and are no more,
- 4:23but the House of the righteous shall stand.
- 4:26A man shall be commended according to his wisdom, but he
- 4:29who has a warped mind shall be despised.
- 4:31Job Chapters 28 to 29 World English Bible.
- 4:35Surely there is a mine for silver and a place for gold,
- 4:38which they refine. Iron is taken out of the earth,
- 4:41and copper is smelted out of the ore.
- 4:44Man sets an end to darkness and searches out to the furthest
- 4:47bound, the stones of obscurity and a thick darkness.
- 4:51He breaks open a shaft away from where people live.
- 4:54They are forgotten by the foot. They hang far from men.
- 4:56They swing back and forth. As for the earth, out of it
- 4:59comes bread. Underneath it is turned up, as
- 5:02it were, by fire. Sapphires come from its rocks.
- 5:05It has dust of gold, That path no bird of prey knows.
- 5:09Neither has the falcon's eye seen it.
- 5:11The proud animals have not trodden it, nor has the fierce
- 5:14lion passed by there. He puts his hand on the flinty
- 5:17rock, and he overturns the mountains by the roots.
- 5:20He cuts out channels among the rocks.
- 5:22His eye sees every precious thing he binds the streams that
- 5:25they don't trickle. The thing that is hidden he
- 5:28brings out to light. But where will wisdom be found?
- 5:31Where is the place of understanding?
- 5:33Man doesn't know its price, and it isn't found in the land of
- 5:36the living. The deep says it isn't in me.
- 5:39The sea says it isn't with me. It can't be gotten for gold,
- 5:43neither will silver be weighed for its price.
- 5:45It can't be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious Onyx
- 5:48or the sapphire. Gold and glass can't equal it.
- 5:51Neither will it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.
- 5:55No mention will be made of coral or of crystal.
- 5:58Yes, the price of wisdom is above rubies.
- 6:01The Topaz of Ethiopia will not equal it.
- 6:03It won't be valued with pure gold.
- 6:05Where then does wisdom come from?
- 6:07Where is the place of understanding Seeing it is
- 6:10hidden from the eyes of all living and kept close from the
- 6:12birds of the sky. Destruction and death say we
- 6:16have heard a rumor of it with our ears.
- 6:18God understands its way and He knows its place, For He looks to
- 6:22the ends of the earth and sees under the whole sky.
- 6:24He establishes the force of the wind, yes, He measures out the
- 6:28waters by measure. When he made a decree for the
- 6:31rain, and away for the lightning of the Thunder, then he saw it
- 6:34and declared it. He established it, yes, and
- 6:36searched it out to man. He said, Behold, the fear of the
- 6:40Lord. That is wisdom.
- 6:41To depart from evil is understanding.
- 6:44Job again took up his parable, and said, Oh, that I were as in
- 6:47the months of old as in the days when God watched over me, when
- 6:51his lamp shone on my head, and by His light I walked through
- 6:54darkness As I was in my prime. When the friendship of God was
- 6:58in my tent, When the Almighty was yet with me and my children
- 7:01were around me. When my steps were washed with
- 7:03butter and the rock poured out streams of oil for me.
- 7:07When I went out to the city gate, when I prepared my seat in
- 7:09the street, the young men saw me and hid themselves.
- 7:13The aged rose up and stood. The Princess refrained from
- 7:16talking and laid their hand on their mouth.
- 7:19The voice of the nobles was hushed, and their tongue stuck
- 7:21to the roof of their mouth. For when the ear heard me, then
- 7:24it blessed me, and when the eye saw me it commended me, because
- 7:28I delivered the poor who cried, and the fatherless also, who had
- 7:31no one to help him. The blessing of him who was
- 7:34ready to perish came on me, and I caused the widow's heart to
- 7:37sing for joy. I put on righteousness, and it
- 7:40clothed me. My justice was as a robe and a
- 7:43diadem. I was eyes to the blind and feet
- 7:45to the lame. I was a father to the needy.
- 7:48I researched the cause of him whom I didn't know.
- 7:50I broke the jaws of the unrighteous and plucked the prey
- 7:53out of his teeth. Then I said, I will die in my
- 7:56own house. I will count my days as the
- 7:58sand. My root is spread out to the
- 8:00waters. The dew lies all night on my
- 8:03branch. My glory is fresh in me.
- 8:05My bow is renewed in my hand. Men listened to me, waited and
- 8:09kept silence for my counsel. After my words, they didn't
- 8:12speak again. My speech fell on them.
- 8:14They waited for me. As for the rain, their mouths
- 8:17drank. As with the spring rain, I
- 8:19smiled on them when they had no confidence.
- 8:22They didn't reject the light of my face.
- 8:24I chose out their way and sat as chief.
- 8:26I lived as a king in the army, as one who comforts the
- 8:29mourners. Thanks for joining us on Bible
