- 0:20I'm so glad you could join us today.
- 0:23Let's say our motto. Repeat after me.
- 0:25I will tell my friends. I will.
- 0:27Tell. My friends so they can know God
- 0:30so. They can know God.
- 0:33Here's something I know about God.
- 0:35God wants us to love others like He loves us.
- 0:37Oh, that. Doesn't I'm going to kill that
- 0:43cop to see I need your. Help.
- 0:45I know, Squeakers. I could hear you.
- 0:47Let me pray for you. Oh wow.
- 0:50I'll I'll try to start about praying.
- 0:55That would. Actually hurt me.
- 0:58Well, of course God would help you, squeakers.
- 1:00God loves you. That's right, Prove that God
- 1:05helps me to that cat. Oh no, wait a minute, God loves
- 1:09the cat too. But how could God love a cat?
- 1:12Especially with that cat. There is a crumb of cheese on
- 1:16the kitchen floor and every time I run out of my heart to go get
- 1:19that cheese, the cat chases me back.
- 1:22In well, I'm sorry to hear that, Squeakers, but that's no reason
- 1:26to kill the cat. She's just playing with you.
- 1:29What you need to do is love her. Me.
- 1:31Love her cat. No, no, no, no, no.
- 1:34I don't. I don't.
- 1:35I don't. I don't think that's possible
- 1:37of. Course it is.
- 1:39We're supposed to love others the way Jesus loves us.
- 1:42That's why I always say I love others like Jesus loves me.
- 1:48Jesus did love me when I was a rat.
- 1:51Well, I wasn't a rat rat. I'm a mouse.
- 1:54But I acted like a rat. I know what you mean.
- 1:59I suppose I could try being nice to the cat, but it would be a
- 2:02lot easier if I had a little bit of cheese and mastermind.
- 2:07As soon as I finish here, I'll feed the cat and that should
- 2:10keep her busy long enough for you to get your cheese.
- 2:13OK. Thank you, Casey.
- 2:14Bye bye. Of course, I could just give you
- 2:16some cheese. Bye Squeakers.
- 2:20Hey kids, did you know that there are books about Chubby and
- 2:24Bree? They're available on Amazon and
- 2:27e-book and paperback formats. Up in a tree hanging down from
- 2:38above, a beehive busily buzzing God's Love, Papa Bee, Mama Bee,
- 2:48Chubby and Bree buzzing God's way.
- 2:53Take a look and you'll see Chubby buzzed home like he
- 2:58usually does straight home from school.
- 3:03Hear him? Buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz.
- 3:06Mama was waiting. Her face had a frown when her
- 3:10bee son, Chubby buzzed in to sit down.
- 3:13Chubby said. Mama.
- 3:17How was school today? Fine.
- 3:20Chubby answered. Can my friends come and play?
- 3:24I love that. Said Mama did.
- 3:27You invite Penn? No way.
- 3:31Chubby buzzed. That bee's not my friend.
- 3:35Penn and his family were new around town.
- 3:39They lived in a hive not far off the ground.
- 3:43It's not a safe place for a young bee to play, so every bee
- 3:47mom told their bees. Stay away, stay away.
- 3:58And so it'd be school all alone. You'd see Penn.
- 4:02They all stayed away. No one tried to make friends.
- 4:07So every day after school, Penn would cry.
- 4:12His Mama would ask, but Penn wouldn't say why.
- 4:15Hold. On.
- 4:18Mama buzzed. Why?
- 4:20Not let Penn come because. Chubby answered.
- 4:25You know where he's from. He lives in a hive not far from
- 4:30the ground. He's skinny, so no one wants him
- 4:34around. No one.
- 4:37Asked Mama. Like your other bee friends?
- 4:42That's right. Chubby answered.
- 4:45Nobody likes pin because we've never seen a bee quite as thin.
- 4:51Pin is so skinny he looks like a a pen.
- 4:56Well I know someone that thinks pen is great.
- 5:02His name is Jesus. Then Chubby's heart sank.
- 5:07Chubby knew Jesus loved every bee, and Chubby knew he was not
- 5:13being friendly. I haven't been behaving nice.
- 5:19Chubby said. He closed his bee eyes and bowed
- 5:24his bee head. Jesus, I'm sorry.
- 5:29Mama heard Chubby pray. From now on, I'm going to be
- 5:33friendly. God's way, Mama.
- 5:38Ask Chubby. If it is OK, I'd like to ask
- 5:43Penn to come over and play. Do I need to tell you what her
- 5:48answer was? It was yes and then off Chubby
- 5:52did buzz. That afternoon, Chubby made a
- 5:56new friend. It wasn't too long till his best
- 6:00friend was Penn. He gave Penn a chance and
- 6:05learned Penn was cool. Now Penn doesn't cry when he
- 6:10gets home from school. Casey, I quit.
- 6:17What's the matter, Stacey? Look at what that cat did to my
- 6:20doll. Stacey, don't quit.
- 6:23Maybe we can work something out. I was hoping you'd say that I
- 6:27know just what to do. Well, I know just what you
- 6:30should do, too. In fact, that's what we're
- 6:32learning about today in the clubhouse.
- 6:35God wants us to love others the way Jesus loves us.
- 6:38Wait a minute, you want me to love the cat Cat after what he
- 6:42did to Sophie? Who's Sophie?
- 6:45My doll. I can't love the cat after what
- 6:48she did. I have to quit.
- 6:51Unless you get rid of the cat. I can't get rid of the cat.
- 6:57Besides, how do you know if the cat broke your Sophie on
- 7:01purpose? Maybe it was an accident.
- 7:05It's either the cat or me, Casey.
- 7:09Sometimes people hurt us or hurt someone we love, and it makes it
- 7:13really hard to love them. But I don't think the cat meant
- 7:16to break Stacy's doll. The cat's not mean like that.
- 7:21Stacy just needs a little time to calm down, and then she'll
- 7:24forgive the cat. Everything will be OK.
- 7:31I once heard a story about a man whose job was to collect money
- 7:34from people. Now people hated this guy, but
- 7:38because he was stealing money from them, if they owed 5 coins
- 7:421234 and five if they owed 5 coins, he would tell them that
- 7:48they actually owed 10 and then they would have to pay him the
- 7:5210. He would then take the 10 and he
- 7:54would keep 5 for himself and turn the other five into work.
- 7:59Now people knew he was stealing from them, but if they didn't
- 8:03pay him the full 10 they would end up going to jail.
- 8:07So one day he's out and about collecting money, and he sees
- 8:12this huge crowd of people in the street waiting for this man
- 8:16named Jesus to come by. Well, he wants to see Jesus
- 8:20because he's heard stories of Jesus, and now he wants to see
- 8:24him for himself. So he tries to fight through the
- 8:27whole crowd to get to the front, but nobody would let him.
- 8:30Now Zacchaeus was really short, So what he had to do is he had
- 8:35to climb up this tree that was nearby.
- 8:37He climbed up really high and just at that moment Jesus was
- 8:41walking by and stopped. And he looked up in the tree
- 8:44where Zacchaeus was. And the crowd of people was
- 8:47like, oh, Jesus is going to tell Zacchaeus that he's been bad and
- 8:52he's going to discipline him. Oh, Zacchaeus is in big trouble.
- 8:58But Jesus didn't say anything like that to Zacchaeus.
- 9:03Jesus said, hey, Zacchaeus, come down for I'm going to go have
- 9:08dinner at your house tonight. So Zacchaeus climbed down the
- 9:13tree and they went to dinner. Now the people that were there,
- 9:16I would imagine they were mad because they hated Zacchaeus.
- 9:21They hated him so much they wouldn't let him to the front to
- 9:23see Jesus, so they kept him in the back so he had to climb the
- 9:26tree. They hated this guy and they
- 9:28wanted Jesus to also hate him. But Jesus doesn't hate anybody.
- 9:35In fact, Jesus. Loves.
- 9:37Everybody and one of the things that Jesus tells us to do is to
- 9:41love other people. It's really easy to love
- 9:45somebody that's nice to us, but it's hard to love somebody who's
- 9:48mean to us or who who doesn't act right like Zacchaeus.
- 9:51It's hard to love somebody like that.
- 9:54But Jesus tells us that we are to love other people just like
- 9:59He loves us. In fact, our memory verse today
- 10:01is John 1512. Can you say it with me?
- 10:06OK, repeat after me. Here we go.
- 10:08Say I love others. I.
- 10:10Love others. Like Jesus loves me like.
- 10:12Jesus loves. Me.
- 10:14That's right, it's part of our spiritual exercise.
- 10:17Let's say it one more time Say I love others.
- 10:19I. Love.
- 10:20Others like Jesus loves me like Jesus loves me.
- 10:24Great job. Let's see how our friend
- 10:27Professor Fetzig is doing. Professor Fetzig.
- 10:33Ah, Casey, you are just in time. Tell me, Casey, do you think I
- 10:40am short? No, I'd say you were tall.
- 10:44Do you think I am cuckoo? No, not at all.
- 10:49Why do you ask? I was reading in the Bible about
- 10:53a man named Zacchaeus and how nobody liked him.
- 10:58I thought maybe it was because he was short or maybe because he
- 11:03acted cuckoo, you know, because he was a tax collector.
- 11:07What's cuckoo about being a tax collector?
- 11:10Well it's cuckoo because you make people put their tax in the
- 11:15tax can all week on, then once a week they put their tax cans on
- 11:22the curb and the tax collector drives the tax truck and empties
- 11:28all the tax cans. I think you're getting it
- 11:31confused with a trash collector. Taxes are what we pay to the
- 11:36government. Oh, that's right.
- 11:40So why do you think the people don't like Zacchaeus?
- 11:45Because he cheated the people out of their money.
- 11:48He did what? Do you have any coins?
- 11:52Yes, I have 10 coins right here. Well, Zacchaeus was doing things
- 12:02like telling people they owed 10 coins when they only owed him
- 12:05five and he would keep the extra money for himself.
- 12:09Wait so if I owed 12345 coins he would make me give him 10?
- 12:21Yes. I wouldn't pay it.
- 12:24If you didn't pay him the 10 coins, he would have you thrown
- 12:27in jail. That's why nobody liked him.
- 12:30Oh, that's why when Jesus came to town, nobody would let
- 12:36Zacchaeus cut in front so he could see Jesus.
- 12:40So Zacchaeus climbed the tree to see Jesus when he walked by, and
- 12:44Jesus told him to come down because he was going to his
- 12:47house for dinner. That is just like Jesus.
- 12:50He loves everybody. But the other people didn't like
- 12:56it. Do you think they tried to tell
- 12:59Jesus? Zacchaeus is not a nice man?
- 13:03He shoots us out of our money when we owe 5.
- 13:07He makes us pay 10. They might have, but Jesus went
- 13:12to his house anyway and shared the love of God with him.
- 13:15When Zacchaeus realized how much God loved him, he started loving
- 13:19God. He told Jesus he was sorry for
- 13:21cheating people and that he was going to pay them all back.
- 13:25And he did 1234 and 5. Here is your money back that I
- 13:34cheated you out of. It was the very first tax
- 13:39refund. In fact, he gave him back four
- 13:42times as much. That would be 20 coins.
- 13:46I'll bet they were glad Jesus went to his house then.
- 13:50You're right, Casey. On the Wednesday people asked
- 13:54why he was giving back their money.
- 13:57He told them, John 1512 I love others like Jesus loves me.
- 14:04I love others like Jesus loves me.
- 14:08That's good to know. Thanks, Professor.
- 14:11Not just any professor, Professor Fetzig.
- 14:22Let's get our hearts and minds ready to learn the Bible verse.
- 14:25I thought Christians. Were supposed to.
- 14:27Love others. We are supposed to love others
- 14:31heart. Somebody forgot to tell Stacy.
- 14:35Stacy will be fine brain. You, on the other hand, have a
- 14:40Bible verse to learn. Another one.
- 14:43Bring it on, Casey, me and Bible verses.
- 14:47We're. Meant.
- 14:48To be together. OK, today's verse is John 1512.
- 14:53I love others like Jesus loves me.
- 14:57Let's say it together, boys and girls.
- 14:59I love others. I.
- 15:01Love others. Like Jesus loves me.
- 15:04Like Jesus loves me. Hey, isn't that one of the
- 15:07verses you say during the spiritual exercise?
- 15:10That's right brain, we usually do pinky push ups when we say
- 15:14this verse. Oh no, I can't do it.
- 15:17Me neither. Why not?
- 15:19We don't have any pinkies. That's OK, We're not doing
- 15:24spiritual exercise right now anyway.
- 15:26We're just trying to say the Bible verse.
- 15:29What's the verse again? Let's say it kids, I love
- 15:33others. I love others like.
- 15:35Jesus loves me like Jesus loves me.
- 15:39I love others like Jesus love me.
- 15:43Did you say cheez its? Yeah, there are those little
- 15:46crackers that taste like cheese. They love me.
- 15:49They just fly into my mouth. OK it's I love others like Jesus
- 15:54loves me not cheez its. Oh that's right, I remember now.
- 15:59Pinky push ups without the pinkies.
- 16:02John 1512. I love others like Jesus loves
- 16:06me. John. 15. 12 I love others like
- 16:11Jesus loves. Good job, brain.
- 16:15Thanks, Heart. Now it's time for today's Bible
- 16:18story. I can't wait to hear it and I
- 16:21can't wait to do it. It's the hearer and the doer.
- 16:25Of. God's Word.
- 16:26Who's blessed? Jesus was making his way through
- 16:40the town when Zacchaeus tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was
- 16:43too short to see over the crowd, so he ran ahead and climbed a
- 16:46tree beside the road, for Jesus was going to pass that way.
- 16:51Excuse. Me.
- 16:53Pardon me. Can I get through here?
- 16:56I can't see. Short.
- 16:58Man in the house what? Am I going?
- 17:00To do. Jesus will be here any minute.
- 17:03And I can't. See.
- 17:05Hey, I just got a great. Idea.
- 17:10I'm getting hungry, Peter. So am I.
- 17:13Where should we eat? Zacchaeus come down.
- 17:16Quick. I'm going to your house to eat.
- 17:19Jesus, do you know that man? No but my.
- 17:23Father in Heaven does. He's a tax.
- 17:26Collector. Master they They say he's a tax
- 17:30collector. Nobody likes tax collectors.
- 17:32They cheat people out of their money.
- 17:35I'm sorry, I was up. Here on the tree, Jesus.
- 17:38I couldn't. See over.
- 17:39The crowd of people. The people.
- 17:41Here, don't like me at all. Are you?
- 17:43Sure you want. To come.
- 17:45To my house. Lead the.
- 17:47Way Zacchaeus. Boys and girls, God loves
- 17:52everyone, and because he loves, he gives to everyone.
- 17:57For God so loved the world. He gave us Jesus.
- 18:01Why? To take away our sins so He can
- 18:05live in our hearts. If you want to ask Jesus to come
- 18:09live in your heart, then I want to pray with you, dear God.
- 18:15Dear God. Thanks for sending Jesus.
- 18:18Thanks for sending. Jesus.
- 18:20To die for my sins, To die for my sins.
- 18:24Jesus, come into my heart. Jesus.
- 18:26Came into my. Life be the boss of my life be
- 18:30the. Boss of my.
- 18:32Life in Jesus name in. Jesus.
- 18:35Name Amen. Amen.
- 18:36Casey. I thought about what you said.
- 18:41I've decided I'm forgiving the cat.
- 18:44Good, Stacy, I'm proud of you. Time for spiritual exercises.
- 18:51Everyone stand up on your feet. Here we go.
- 18:54You ready? Repeat after me.
- 18:56Stretch it up real high. I love the Lord.
- 19:00I love the Lord. With.
- 19:02All my heart. With all my heart.
- 19:05Now show me your muscles. God is good.
- 19:08God is good. All the time.
- 19:11All the. Time.
- 19:14I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid.
- 19:17God is with me. God.
- 19:18Is with. Me.
- 19:20Good, now show me your Superman pose by Jesus stripes.
- 19:25By Jesus stripes. I am healed.
- 19:28I am healed. Nice work, now these are my
- 19:31favorite kinky push ups. Up, down, up, down.
- 19:37I love others. I love.
- 19:39Others like Jesus loves me like. Jesus loves me.
- 19:44That was a good workout. All right, let's cool it down.
- 19:48Let's stretch it out. I obey my parents.
- 19:52I obey my. Parents for this pleases God for
- 19:56it. Pleases God.
- 19:58Good job kids, now just shake it out.
- 20:00Shake it out. Turn around if you want.
- 20:04Good job kids, I'm proud of you. So one day this man named, I'll
- 20:12call him Mr. Z. Mr. Z.
- 20:15His name is too hard to say. It starts with AZ.
- 20:18You mean Zacchaeus? That's it.
- 20:20Zach. Zach, Zach.
- 20:23So Mr. Z heard Jesus was coming to town and he wanted to see
- 20:26him, but there was already a line of people all over the
- 20:29place, and Mr. Z couldn't see because everyone was too tall.
- 20:32Everyone was too tall. Yeah, because Mr. Z was like,
- 20:36really short. Well, how short was he?
- 20:38I don't know, too short to see over the people.
- 20:40We should have asked to be in front.
- 20:42I'm sure the people would have let him through.
- 20:45No way, Jose. Not Mr. Z, Ain't nobody like
- 20:48him. Why not?
- 20:49He was a wax collector. A wax collector.
- 20:52Yeah, like when you dig around in your ears and get some wax
- 20:56out of it, most people wipe it off and throw it away.
- 20:58But Mr. Z, he collected it. That's gross, huh?
- 21:02I don't know. I don't have any ears.
- 21:05Anyways, Mr. Z decides to climb a tree, which usually only tall
- 21:09people can do unless they get a boost from someone.
- 21:12But he climbs a tree and sees Jesus, and Jesus sees him and
- 21:16says, and Mr. Z, I'm coming to your house to eat.
- 21:20Why did Jesus say that? I don't know, maybe Mr. Z at a
- 21:24restaurant at his house. Hey, maybe it had candles on the
- 21:27table which would explain the wax collecting.
- 21:30So did Zacchaeus take him to his house?
- 21:33Of course, and all the people were upset because they didn't
- 21:37like Mr. Z and Jesus chose him to go eat with.
- 21:41That's because Jesus is friendly.
- 21:43That's our word for today. Friendly.
- 21:45Yeah, he was friendly even to the person everyone else hated.
- 21:49That's what God's love in US does.
- 21:52It makes us friendly, John 1512 says.
- 21:55I love others like Jesus loves me.
- 21:59Mr. Z must have gotten some of God's love in him, because after
- 22:02eating with Jesus, he started being friendly.
- 22:04The poor people, he gave them half of his money.
- 22:08Wow that is friendly. So did people start liking him
- 22:12after that? The poor people, yes.
- 22:14Everyone else, no. He told Jesus that he was going
- 22:18to give people back four times as much ear wax as he had taken
- 22:21from them. That's gross times 4 man.
- 22:26Wait a minute, I just remembered Zacchaeus wasn't a wax
- 22:30collector, he's a tax collector. Taxes are money that you have to
- 22:35pay to the government. So he got taxes out of people's
- 22:38ears. Not out of their ears, out of
- 22:41their wallets. What about the candles in this
- 22:44restaurant? Were they made out of taxes?
- 22:47Well, if he had candles, I'm sure they were made out of wax.
- 22:51So Mr. Z was a wax and tax collector.
- 22:57You left without saying goodbye Again.
- 23:00That's not very friendly. You can hear and see more of
- 23:06Paco and the Fish telling stories about Jesus on your
- 23:10favorite podcast or video platform.
- 23:13Just search for Paco and the Fish.
- 23:21Casey, you know what my favorite part of the clubhouse was today?
- 23:26No. What was it?
- 23:27Oh, I liked it when squeakers cut the cheese.
- 23:32Squeakers didn't cut the cheese, Fuzzy.
- 23:35That reminds me, I have to go feed Squeakers before I do.
- 23:40Why don't you tell us what you learned today, Fuzzy?
- 23:43I learned that Cowboys ride horses because horses are too
- 23:47heavy to carry. That is not what we learned
- 23:51today, Fuzzy. What did you learn?
- 23:54God wants us to love others. Oh, that's right, we love
- 23:59everyone, even if they're short and collect wax in their ears.
- 24:05Fuzzy, I think you're talking about Zacchaeus.
- 24:08He was a tax collector, not a wax collector.
- 24:13I mean, he put taxes in his ears.
- 24:16Never mind, I love others like Jesus loves me.
- 24:21John 1512. Can you say that Fuzzy?
- 24:25Oh yeah, I love others like Jesus loves me.
- 24:29John, 1512. Very good.
- 24:33Now say goodbye, Fuzzy. Goodbye, Fuzzy.
- 24:36Goodbye kids, see you next time at the Jesus and Me Clubhouse.
- 24:44See you back again at Casey's Clubhouse.
- 24:48It's the place we learn God's Word.
- 24:51Till we meet again at Casey's Clubhouse, let's be doers of
- 24:56what we've heard.
