Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to College Football Locker Room. It
• 0:02
Speaker 1: is what? It is week five. It's an exciting slate
• 0:05
Speaker 1: of games. I know next week everyone's really clamoring about
• 0:07
Speaker 1: the next two weeks, but this week we got a
• 0:08
Speaker 1: lot of great games taking place. A lot of things
• 0:10
Speaker 1: shaking out in the college football world, but one thing
• 0:12
Speaker 1: that shakes out every single week is FanDuel, your most
• 0:15
Speaker 1: rewarding season ever because FanDuel is the greatest place to
• 0:19
Speaker 1: bet on games. We've got three winners right here.
• 0:21
Speaker 2: Hey Taylor, how do they win?
• 0:22
Speaker 1: Very simple, if you use your Twitter username you put
• 0:24
Speaker 1: in the comments of this video, you are essentially entered
• 0:27
Speaker 1: in a chance to win for FanDuel to go out,
• 0:29
Speaker 1: look down the line, pick somebody and go, you know what,
• 0:31
Speaker 1: we want this guy to win bonus bets. Taylor, here's
• 0:34
Speaker 1: three coins. Our winners this week, David M. Bortz, Aaron McCartney, Six,
• 0:40
Speaker 1: and Matt Lossing. Congratulations, let's give a round of applause
• 0:42
Speaker 1: for those guys, huh? All they did was follow the rules.
• 0:45
Speaker 1: They put their username in the comments below. So we're
• 0:48
Speaker 1: going to start out here with Aaron McCarney 6. Got 100,
• 0:53
  Speaker 1: got 1,000, got 500, 1,000, 250 to re-roll. I'm figuring
• 0:56
Speaker 1: out this board. I'm feeling really good about getting these
• 0:58
  Speaker 1: boys 1,000.
• 0:59
  Speaker 2: Not money.
• 0:59
Speaker 1: It's Vandal's money. Let's get after it, McCarney.
• 1:01
Speaker 2: Come on, boy. That's an insane series of events. That's
• 1:08
Speaker 2: an insane- That's a Will Compton five unit right there. Yeah.
• 1:12
Speaker 1: That's a Florida Ole Miss under right there.
• 1:15
  Speaker 2: All right.
• 1:16
Speaker 1: Let's get into it one more time. What?
• 1:18
  Speaker 2: All right.
• 1:19
Speaker 1: This has got to be. Something's got to be going on.
• 1:21
Speaker 2: It may be the table tilt.
• 1:22
Speaker 1: I think it's the tape on it. Come on.
• 1:27
Speaker 2: Yeah, man! It's the honey!
• 1:30
Speaker 1: We'll take that next one. Matt Lawson. Shout out Matt Lawson.
• 1:34
Speaker 1: What did he do? Clump, what did he do?
• 1:36
Speaker 2: He commented on the YouTube and left his Twitter username. Wow.
• 1:39
Speaker 1: I mean, he was more enthusiastic than that when he
• 1:41
Speaker 1: do it. But yes, here we go again. One, two.
• 1:44
  Speaker 1: That's insane.
• 1:45
  Speaker 2: Reroll. Reroll.
• 1:48
Speaker 1: The board's crazy. And my fingers. I got a broken finger.
• 1:51
Speaker 2: Zero edits on this later, please. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:53
Speaker 1: Do not edit any of this.
• 1:59
  Speaker 2: Good move.
• 2:00
Speaker 1: You gotta adapt or die in this world, boys. Here
• 2:03
Speaker 1: we go now. Let's get it done real quick. We
• 2:11
Speaker 1: got Dave M. Bortz. Dave M. Bortz. Put it on there.
• 2:17
Speaker 1: Most rewarding season ever. Fandles here to cover you.
• 2:20
Speaker 2: Let's go. Oh, yeah!
• 2:24
  Speaker 3: $ 100 or more!
• 2:25
Speaker 1: It's free money! You have the opportunity to turn that
• 2:28
  Speaker 1: into $ 1, 000. Just text that, boy, I got a couple
• 2:29
Speaker 1: of parlays for this week, and only one counts towards
• 2:32
Speaker 1: the things. Great show headed your way. Week five, units are.
• 2:36
Speaker 2: Flying over the place.
• 2:37
Speaker 1: We got one guy, units is up here, and another guy,
• 2:40
Speaker 1: you're right down there. Let's have a hell of a show.
• 2:45
  Speaker 2: Oh, f * * *.
• 2:49
Speaker 1: I got lightheaded when I went down there. It's like
• 2:50
  Speaker 1: a sprint marathon.
• 3:07
Speaker 3: Welcome to another episode of The Locker Room. You guys
• 3:10
Speaker 3: are watching right now. We are brought to you by
• 3:11
Speaker 3: the number one sportsbook in America. It is the FanDuel sportsbook.
• 3:14
  Speaker 3: Before we get.
• 3:15
Speaker 2: Started, entertainment purposes only.
• 3:18
  Speaker 4: Yep.
• 3:18
Speaker 3: Gamble responsibly. There's a responsible gaming section in the app.
• 3:22
Speaker 3: You can also go to FanDuel.com slash play with a plan.
• 3:25
Speaker 3: Gamble responsibly. Gamble responsibly. Gamble responsibly. Now, if you guys
• 3:30
Speaker 3: are not part of FanDuel's college football pick-em, I just
• 3:32
Speaker 3: have to ask you, what are you doing?
• 3:34
  Speaker 2: Because it's free.
• 3:36
  Speaker 1: It's free.
• 3:36
  Speaker 2: It's free.
• 3:37
Speaker 1: You go into FanDuel.
• 3:38
Speaker 3: You can pick 10 games against the spread every week
• 3:42
Speaker 3: for free. If you go 10 out of 10, you're
• 3:44
  Speaker 3: going to win a share in a $ 500, 000 jackpot. There
• 3:49
Speaker 3: were how many winners last week? 210 jackpot winners that
• 3:54
Speaker 3: walked away with a share of $ 2, 300 in FanDuel bonus spreads.
• 3:56
Speaker 2: Oh, my God. In FanDuel bonus spreads. Also....
• 4:01
Speaker 3: If you participate in picking 10 games against the spread, again.
• 4:04
  Speaker 2: It is free.
• 4:05
  Speaker 3: FanDuel's college football pick-em.
• 4:08
Speaker 1: What are you doing?
• 4:08
Speaker 3: You should be on it. You also play against us.
• 4:11
Speaker 3: If you beat one of us, you will get a
• 4:14
  Speaker 3: profit boost token.
• 4:15
  Speaker 2: Wow.
• 4:15
Speaker 1: For free. For free?
• 4:16
Speaker 2: Just for beating one of us.
• 4:17
Speaker 3: And it's not that difficult to do that. It's not
• 4:19
Speaker 3: that difficult to do that. This week, Taylor and Josh
• 4:22
Speaker 3: earned five correct points.
• 4:24
  Speaker 2: Picks each.
• 4:25
Speaker 3: So if you get six, you're going to get a
• 4:27
Speaker 3: profit boost token. Willie C was a little tougher to
• 4:30
Speaker 3: take down. I see, I'm reading right here, Mr. Willie
• 4:32
  Speaker 3: C with a calm 7 out of 10. The boy
• 4:35
Speaker 3: went 7 out of 10. Very strong week for the
• 4:36
Speaker 3: boys overall, but again, go to Fanduel.com slash Bustin.
• 4:40
  Speaker 2: Participate. It's free.
• 4:41
Speaker 3: You don't have to wager anything. 10 games against the spread.
• 4:44
  Speaker 3: Try to go 10 for 10. You'll get a share
• 4:46
Speaker 3: of $ 500, 000. If you beat one of us, you're going
• 4:48
Speaker 3: to get a profit boost token.
• 4:49
  Speaker 2: God!
• 4:50
Speaker 1: And that's the best ad read you've done so far.
• 4:52
  Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
• 4:52
Speaker 1: Like Josh put something in front of you in week
• 4:55
Speaker 1: one and you've just gotten better every single week. I
• 4:57
Speaker 1: appreciate that. It's been very impressive to see. I feel
• 4:59
Speaker 1: like we should put a unit on the 10 picks
• 5:02
Speaker 1: because if we're in that position, there wouldn't be so
• 5:05
Speaker 1: much red on your sheet of paper right now. Seven
• 5:07
  Speaker 1: picks is great.
• 5:08
Speaker 3: Honestly, if you look at it, I had a strong
• 5:12
  Speaker 3: week with picks.
• 5:14
Speaker 1: I want to say I went what? Five and two?
• 5:17
  Speaker 2: Five and two?
• 5:18
Speaker 3: No, no, I didn't go four and four. You count
• 5:20
Speaker 3: my parlay. I'm talking just picks. I felt pretty good.
• 5:23
Speaker 3: Now where my confidence. Probably counts.
• 5:26
Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm talking like our picks. Yeah.
• 5:29
Speaker 3: Like, you know, parlays, they're long shots. I get that
• 5:32
Speaker 3: you lose a unit. Tell them where it went wrong though.
• 5:35
  Speaker 2: It went wrong.
• 5:37
Speaker 3: My instinct was right. My confidence was wrong. I went
• 5:42
Speaker 3: under five units on Ole Miss, Florida. And when I'm
• 5:44
Speaker 3: sitting there at halftime and it's, what, 17-6, I'm drawing
• 5:47
  Speaker 3: a hot bath.
• 5:49
  Speaker 1: I'm lighting a couple candles.
• 5:51
Speaker 3: And then by the time the second half kicked off,
• 5:53
Speaker 3: my wife, she finds me bellied up in the tub.
• 5:57
Speaker 2: I was feeling so good.
• 5:58
Speaker 3: I was like, man, I kind of saw all of
• 6:00
Speaker 3: it this week, didn't I? And then, of course, Georgia, Oklahoma,
• 6:04
  Speaker 3: I'm like, Georgia's a buzzsaw. Georgia's a buzzsaw. Georgia's a buzzsaw.
• 6:07
Speaker 3: But the spread is a little. Yeah, Oklahoma does have
• 6:09
Speaker 3: elite defense. It could be a tight game. I'm just
• 6:11
Speaker 3: going to go under there.
• 6:12
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 6:13
Speaker 2: And then that one, Georgia almost covered it by itself.
• 6:16
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's Oklahoma. Like, tease and peace for them boys
• 6:20
Speaker 1: over there. That is just. This is this. I don't
• 6:24
Speaker 1: want to say because the corner zip guy, but it
• 6:25
Speaker 1: has something to do with it.
• 6:27
Speaker 2: You talked me into them last week. I know.
• 6:29
Speaker 1: And trust me, it's ran past me a couple of
• 6:31
Speaker 1: times in my brain and I felt guilty every single time.
• 6:34
Speaker 2: I blame myself. I mean, it was my decision. I'm
• 6:36
  Speaker 2: an adult.
• 6:36
Speaker 1: Yeah, you're an adult. But at the same time, it
• 6:40
Speaker 1: made too much sense. And John Mateer, you didn't see
• 6:45
Speaker 1: it going down like that.
• 6:46
  Speaker 2: No.
• 6:46
Speaker 1: You didn't see them have a wide open receiver in
• 6:48
Speaker 1: the end zone and him just like some circus music
• 6:51
Speaker 1: goes on and the ball flies out of his hand.
• 6:53
Speaker 1: Who's that number nine kid?
• 6:53
Speaker 3: I was going to say the best part of the
• 6:54
Speaker 3: play was, is it Chris Cole?
• 6:56
  Speaker 2: Chris Cole.
• 6:57
Speaker 1: 22 miles an hour.
• 6:58
  Speaker 2: Unbelievable. Fucking crazy.
• 7:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, running like a deer out there. So yeah, it
• 7:02
Speaker 1: was bad, man. It was bad. Are the Sooners dead?
• 7:04
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 7:05
Speaker 1: Is it a bad look for my favorite school?
• 7:07
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 7:07
Speaker 3: Maybe stock to sell. Jack was going around the office
• 7:09
Speaker 3: talking about what coach could you sell stock on?
• 7:11
Speaker 1: Like he might have to. That's the problem though. It's like,
• 7:14
Speaker 1: why would you sell stock on something that's so low
• 7:16
Speaker 1: at that point? You have to sell stock when it's
• 7:17
Speaker 1: high to make a profit.
• 7:19
Speaker 2: You ever describe a game and you're being serious. You
• 7:24
Speaker 2: had already begun and you tried to stop the momentum
• 7:27
Speaker 2: of the sentence, but it couldn't be stopped. So I'm
• 7:30
Speaker 2: giving you the floor.
• 7:31
Speaker 1: It seems really, really important. I'm giving you the floor.
• 7:35
Speaker 3: In my brain, I'm thinking Taylor is right saying that.
• 7:37
Speaker 3: But also, if it's selling at a buck right now,
• 7:40
Speaker 3: are you still going to wait for it just to
• 7:41
Speaker 3: go down to zero? You can still save something.
• 7:44
Speaker 1: Give it a buck.
• 7:45
Speaker 2: Yeah. He's already got it.
• 7:46
Speaker 1: How much stock have you bought? I bought a lot
• 7:47
Speaker 1: of stock in Oklahoma before the season.
• 7:49
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 7:50
Speaker 1: So I could still be, you know, saving a little bit.
• 7:54
Speaker 2: How are they worse?
• 7:56
  Speaker 1: I don't know, man.
• 7:57
  Speaker 2: It's very dumb.
• 7:58
Speaker 1: That kind of blows me away is our conversation about Oklahoma.
• 8:02
Speaker 1: And I was like, hey, no way they can run
• 8:03
Speaker 1: the ball better this year. And you're like, I tend
• 8:05
Speaker 1: to think that if something's at rock bottom, it can
• 8:07
Speaker 1: only get better, which is fantastic logic.
• 8:10
Speaker 2: Or it could just stay at rock bottom.
• 8:11
Speaker 1: It could just stay at rock bottom. Because we looked
• 8:13
Speaker 1: at it and we're like, hey, like Ryan Grubb, he's
• 8:14
Speaker 1: never been able to run the ball. But at Alabama,
• 8:16
Speaker 1: like Corral is like 6.7 yards per carat. Keelan Russell's
• 8:19
Speaker 1: doing a great job on the ball. It's kind of
• 8:21
Speaker 1: flipped on us where our perspective was history has shown
• 8:25
Speaker 1: one OC can't run the ball. You got to believe
• 8:27
Speaker 1: that Venables is going to get whatever he chooses to
• 8:29
Speaker 1: get because he's got that kind of culture. And it
• 8:31
Speaker 1: just hasn't worked out that way. And that's kind of
• 8:32
Speaker 1: what makes college football so beautiful. Another thing that makes
• 8:35
Speaker 1: college football beautiful is rankings.
• 8:37
  Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
• 8:38
Speaker 3: Before we go into rankings, I do got to ask
• 8:40
Speaker 3: one thing because he threw a grenade last year.
• 8:43
  Speaker 2: Massive grenade.
• 8:43
  Speaker 1: It was quiet.
• 8:44
Speaker 3: It was doing a little virality on the internet. Lincoln Riley,
• 8:48
Speaker 3: keep an eye on it going into the office. Now
• 8:51
Speaker 3: I feel like Pate's going on every show. He's not
• 8:53
Speaker 3: only holding the grenade, he's letting it off on any
• 8:56
Speaker 3: show he goes on. Because you think the time is
• 8:58
Speaker 3: just up now with Lincoln Riley. Or do you think
• 9:00
Speaker 3: the time is up?
• 9:02
Speaker 2: I think probably the time is up. I think the
• 9:04
Speaker 2: only thing that would stand in the way, and I'm
• 9:06
Speaker 2: not sure this is a barrier, but if there's a barrier,
• 9:09
Speaker 2: it would just be the size of the buyout. But
• 9:12
Speaker 2: I have heard from some people, if they wanted to
• 9:14
Speaker 2: make a move, that the buyout wouldn't be prohibitive, even
• 9:18
  Speaker 2: though the buyout, I think it's north of 70. It's
• 9:20
Speaker 2: a private school, but people are pretty loose out there
• 9:23
Speaker 2: with information. And so I think they would make a
• 9:26
Speaker 2: move on him. So I was doing, I was with
• 9:28
Speaker 2: Rich Eisen yesterday. I was on his show and I said,
• 9:31
Speaker 2: I think he's done there. And Rich was like surprised
• 9:33
Speaker 2: by it. He said, wow, he's only got one loss.
• 9:36
Speaker 2: But to me, right at this moment where we are
• 9:38
Speaker 2: is the same spot we were last year when Oregon
• 9:41
Speaker 2: went to Penn State and beat Penn State. And we
• 9:44
Speaker 2: had sat here and the whole world had sat out
• 9:46
Speaker 2: there and they had said, this is the year for
• 9:48
Speaker 2: James Franklin. This is the year for Penn State. We
• 9:51
Speaker 2: finally have a roster and have what it takes to
• 9:53
Speaker 2: get over the hump, not just run into the hump
• 9:56
Speaker 2: and then you know, drift backwards again. But there's going
• 9:59
Speaker 2: to be a referendum game. It's going to be the
• 10:01
Speaker 2: Oregon game. They got to come here. New quarterback, young roster.
• 10:05
Speaker 2: We've got a veteran-laden roster. We got Drew Aller back.
• 10:08
Speaker 2: All the stuff we said. And then Penn State lost
• 10:10
Speaker 2: that game. You remember the effect it had on Penn State.
• 10:12
Speaker 2: It was a loss, but it was way more than
• 10:15
Speaker 2: just one loss. The collateral damage that rippled off that
• 10:17
Speaker 2: loss ended up derailing their season and they go to
• 10:20
Speaker 2: UCLA and lose and they lose to Northwestern. And within
• 10:23
Speaker 2: three weeks, James Franklin's out of a job. So if you,
• 10:26
Speaker 2: if you knew the Penn state situation, you knew that
• 10:29
Speaker 2: loss was worth more in impact than just a normal loss.
• 10:34
Speaker 2: Because of the ramifications. So this year's version of that,
• 10:37
Speaker 2: I think, is Oregon going to USC and doing what
• 10:39
Speaker 2: they did the other night. Like, yes, it's a loss.
• 10:42
Speaker 2: It's one in the loss column. It's one in the
• 10:44
Speaker 2: conference standings. But if you know the USC situation, all
• 10:47
  Speaker 2: those people's viewpoint was, we're half a decade in. We've
• 10:51
Speaker 2: given him five years. He's in, I think, his third
• 10:53
Speaker 2: defensive coordinator now. So we've given him plenty of runway
• 10:57
Speaker 2: to hire multiple guys. We just signed number one recruiting class.
• 11:00
Speaker 2: We just opened new facilities. Everything this guy could possibly need,
• 11:04
Speaker 2: including time, we've given him. So now he's got to
• 11:09
Speaker 2: deliver for us. And the referendum game is going to
• 11:11
Speaker 2: be the Oregon game. And Oregon came in, and the
• 11:15
Speaker 2: whole thing happening with Dante Moore, what you thought about
• 11:17
Speaker 2: the hit or the theatrics aside, the fact is Oregon
• 11:20
Speaker 2: played most of the game with their backup quarterback. And
• 11:22
Speaker 2: they still beat you by double digits in your own building.
• 11:26
Speaker 2: And they sold out the Coliseum. Everyone was hating on
• 11:28
Speaker 2: USC early in the year. Fans not showing up. Well,
• 11:31
Speaker 2: the fans showed up, and that's what they got delivered
• 11:34
Speaker 2: to them. So how would you feel?
• 11:36
Speaker 1: Yeah. You told me two things there. One, it seems
• 11:38
Speaker 1: like Oregon is the Grim Reaper on coaches on the fence,
• 11:40
Speaker 1: which is very scary. And then bringing up Franklin, I believe,
• 11:44
Speaker 1: I don't know if this is 100% correct, but you
• 11:45
Speaker 1: were kind of standing there being like, don't get rid
• 11:48
  Speaker 1: of Franklin.
• 11:49
  Speaker 2: Yes.
• 11:50
Speaker 1: In the middle of the season.
• 11:51
  Speaker 2: Yes.
• 11:51
Speaker 1: Kind of because that started the chaos coaching carousel that
• 11:55
Speaker 1: took place. Are you in that same thought process with
• 12:00
Speaker 1: Lincoln Riley? Like, hey, we got to keep him to
• 12:01
Speaker 1: the end of the season. Or if it derails the
• 12:03
Speaker 1: way that Penn State derailed last year, losing to inferior
• 12:06
Speaker 1: opponents back-to-back weeks after that big loss. Do you think
• 12:10
Speaker 1: they should make a move?
• 12:11
Speaker 2: Well, so you can't make a move now because I
• 12:12
Speaker 2: could be wrong and they could pull the nose up.
• 12:14
Speaker 2: But my feeling is I'm not wrong. My feeling is
• 12:17
Speaker 2: more losses are coming. They won't be a playoff team.
• 12:21
Speaker 2: Whenever that realization sinks in, I guess, is when you
• 12:24
Speaker 2: would think about making the move. Now, everybody in the
• 12:26
Speaker 2: industry knows Kalen DeBoer is going to be the guy
• 12:28
Speaker 2: they go after. Have no idea whether Kalen DeBoer takes
• 12:31
Speaker 2: the job because the whole thinking the whole time was
• 12:34
Speaker 2: whether you're Michigan, whether you're USC, the thinking was, it
• 12:39
Speaker 2: won't be stable at Alabama. You're just kind of gaming
• 12:42
Speaker 2: the thing out. He won't get it rectified to the
• 12:45
Speaker 2: point where they're happy that he has followed up Nick
• 12:48
Speaker 2: Saban and they're off to the races. Well, it's early,
• 12:51
Speaker 2: but Bama looks really good right now. Maybe they're off
• 12:53
Speaker 2: to the races. At the very least, it's not unstable there.
• 12:57
Speaker 2: So who knows what that looks like? But I'm just
• 12:59
Speaker 2: telling you, their number one will be make Kalen DeBoer
• 13:01
Speaker 2: tell us no, if they make that move. And then
• 13:04
Speaker 2: if he tells them no beyond that, I got no
• 13:07
Speaker 2: clue what it looks like. But that's the one we
• 13:09
Speaker 2: sat here in preseason. And I said, that's the one
• 13:11
Speaker 2: that everybody who thinks it may be a little bit
• 13:14
Speaker 2: of a quiet coaching carousel year always caveats it with.
• 13:19
Speaker 2: But if USC opens, throw everything I just said out
• 13:22
Speaker 2: the window, because if USC opens, that's like the domino.
• 13:25
Speaker 2: That's like the asteroid in the ocean that creates the
• 13:28
Speaker 2: tidal wave. And it could go crazy like it did
• 13:30
Speaker 2: last year. But he's got to lose more games for
• 13:33
  Speaker 2: that to happen.
• 13:34
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 13:35
Speaker 2: If he loses them, when does he lose them? Is
• 13:37
Speaker 2: it like Penn State where it's immediate? Do they lose
• 13:39
Speaker 2: to Washington this week, in other words? Or is it.
• 13:41
Speaker 1: There's no way they lose to Washington.
• 13:42
Speaker 2: There's no way that Penn State loses to UCLA last year,
• 13:44
Speaker 2: and then they did. There's no way Penn State loses
• 13:47
  Speaker 2: to Northwestern. There's a way. Where there's a Lincoln, there's
• 13:50
  Speaker 2: a way. I promise you, there's a way. So we'll see.
• 13:54
Speaker 1: Yeah, but the thing that scares me about USC is
• 13:56
Speaker 1: like number one recruiting class in this past cycle, they
• 13:59
Speaker 1: have their best talent is all freshmen that have like
• 14:03
Speaker 1: an alliance to USC, but there's the NIL category. And
• 14:05
Speaker 1: so if their coach that they chose gets pulled out
• 14:08
Speaker 1: of the system and you do put a great coach
• 14:09
Speaker 1: in there like Kaelin DeBoers, you know, throw the ball
• 14:10
  Speaker 1: over the field.
• 14:11
Speaker 2: This is a great point.
• 14:11
Speaker 1: Then what takes place?
• 14:13
Speaker 2: This is a great point.
• 14:13
Speaker 1: Like if you look at it from a booster standpoint,
• 14:15
Speaker 1: it's like, yeah, maybe Lincoln Riley is not our long-term answer. However,
• 14:19
Speaker 1: they have a great nucleus of young talent there. that
• 14:22
Speaker 1: maybe Penn State didn't have last year. They had all upperclassmen,
• 14:25
Speaker 1: dudes that were going to go to the NFL the
• 14:26
Speaker 1: next year, so you didn't really know what Penn State
• 14:28
Speaker 1: was going to be after that.
• 14:29
  Speaker 2: Yes.
• 14:29
Speaker 3: But they still took a lot of players. Franklin still
• 14:32
Speaker 3: got a lot of players.
• 14:32
Speaker 1: Franklin got a lot of players.
• 14:33
Speaker 3: Do you think the relationship that Franklin had, you kind
• 14:37
Speaker 3: of saw the relationship that Franklin had with a lot
• 14:39
Speaker 3: of those guys at Penn State. You think Lincoln Riley
• 14:41
Speaker 3: would have the same type of relationship with those guys
• 14:44
Speaker 3: at USC? When they have him, it's like, At least
• 14:46
Speaker 3: Franklin had won a playoff game, right?
• 14:49
Speaker 1: They won a– Yeah. Four, right?
• 14:51
Speaker 2: They were in the semifinals.
• 14:52
Speaker 1: Yeah, they were in the semifinals.
• 14:54
Speaker 3: And they also went to the Big Ten Championship that
• 14:56
Speaker 3: year before when they lost to Oregon.
• 14:57
  Speaker 1: There's championship success.
• 14:59
Speaker 3: There to where I feel like you're almost dying for
• 15:02
Speaker 3: that coach a little bit more than USC who hasn't
• 15:04
Speaker 3: really done anything with Lincoln Riley there.
• 15:06
Speaker 1: There's still a world where they chose that coach, and
• 15:08
Speaker 1: there's still some sort of relation. Oh, there's a smirk.
• 15:12
Speaker 2: I don't think they chose Lincoln at all.
• 15:14
Speaker 1: What did they choose?
• 15:14
Speaker 2: I think they chose Chris Brown concerts. They chose USC.
• 15:18
Speaker 2: Whatever you feel about Chris Brown. Who knows? Maybe I
• 15:20
Speaker 2: don't like Chris Brown. But if I want to play
• 15:22
Speaker 2: in Southern California, you've got a new GM in there.
• 15:25
Speaker 2: I really like the vibes off the program. I'm there
• 15:28
Speaker 2: whether Lincoln's there or not. I think I strongly believe
• 15:34
Speaker 2: that most of that freshman class, at the very least,
• 15:36
Speaker 2: which is most of the ones they would want to
• 15:37
Speaker 2: keep around anyway, they committed knowing Lincoln Riley was the
• 15:40
Speaker 2: head coach there. I don't think they committed to Lincoln Riley.
• 15:43
Speaker 2: I don't think you would have a lot of roster
• 15:45
Speaker 2: upheaval at all, especially if they had, we're getting way
• 15:48
Speaker 2: down the road here, obviously, but especially if they had
• 15:50
  Speaker 2: a really functional, well-calibrated, well-orchestrated coaching search, I don't think
• 15:58
  Speaker 2: you'd have roster attrition. I don't think you'd have unwanted
• 16:01
Speaker 2: roster attrition at all.
• 16:03
Speaker 1: To keep that cohesive unit together, the move would be
• 16:07
Speaker 1: to make that transition before the season ended.
• 16:11
  Speaker 2: I think so.
• 16:12
Speaker 1: Because then it's not, not that you do, you can't
• 16:14
Speaker 1: get your hands on the kids and be like, Hey, well,
• 16:15
Speaker 1: trust me, we're going to bring a guy in here.
• 16:17
Speaker 1: Like if you do it in the middle of October,
• 16:19
Speaker 1: then you have a couple of months before that transfer
• 16:21
Speaker 1: portal opens up to get the right guy and have
• 16:24
Speaker 1: him sell the players on everything. So that would be
• 16:27
Speaker 1: the positive to Lincoln Riley.
• 16:28
Speaker 2: Now here's the, here's the counter in case he's watching
• 16:31
Speaker 2: and he can't speak for himself. They could finish 11
• 16:33
Speaker 2: and one. For all we know, this is this inflection point.
• 16:37
Speaker 2: It was a wake-up call. They tasted their own blood.
• 16:40
Speaker 2: They're going to beat Ohio State. They're going to beat Indiana.
• 16:42
Speaker 2: I certainly don't think that's going to happen, but it
• 16:44
Speaker 2: could happen. Lincoln Riley could end up looking like the
• 16:47
Speaker 2: evil villain that fooled everybody, and he's playing in the
• 16:50
Speaker 2: Big Ten Championship game in December. That could happen. That's
• 16:53
Speaker 2: in the cards. Far more cards in the deck indicate
• 16:56
Speaker 2: that maybe a move coming down the road.
• 16:58
Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe he's not this year's James Franklin. And speaking
• 17:00
Speaker 3: of James Franklin busting a pit on campus, Blacksburg, Virginia,
• 17:03
Speaker 3: we're going to get to witness the rebirth. But the
• 17:06
Speaker 3: boys are going to be there. What's the name of
• 17:08
  Speaker 3: the spot again?
• 17:09
  Speaker 2: Hokie Village.
• 17:10
Speaker 3: Hokie Village. We'll be there 2 to 3 p.m. Eastern time.
• 17:13
Speaker 3: Come check the boys out. I know there's a lot
• 17:16
Speaker 3: of good juice going into Virginia Tech right now.
• 17:18
Speaker 2: Massive game. ACC game of the week. ACC game of
• 17:21
  Speaker 2: the week.
• 17:22
Speaker 3: Taylor, I know you had a question you wanted to
• 17:25
  Speaker 3: bring up.
• 17:25
Speaker 1: Yeah. I saw your SEC top quarterbacks. The one that
• 17:31
Speaker 1: came out that was really high to me was Austin Simmons.
• 17:34
Speaker 1: I think he's a great guy. He throws beautiful football.
• 17:36
Speaker 1: Clearly started over Trinidad Chambliss last year at Ole Miss
• 17:38
Speaker 1: before he got injured. And yesterday... I took a screenshot
• 17:42
Speaker 1: of that and I sent it to Cody Graves just
• 17:44
Speaker 1: between the two of us.
• 17:44
Speaker 2: So you screenshot that yesterday.
• 17:46
Speaker 1: I screenshot it myself. I walked in this morning and
• 17:49
Speaker 1: it was like. And I'm sitting there, I'm like, is
• 17:51
Speaker 1: there something I'm missing on Austin Simmons? Because like, there's
• 17:57
Speaker 1: a lot of picks out there that haven't been picks.
• 17:59
Speaker 1: There's a lot of tips and overthrows that have taken
• 18:01
Speaker 1: place in the middle of the field that are like,
• 18:03
Speaker 1: From a stat standpoint, they're not there. Now, this is
• 18:06
Speaker 1: not my war because I thought Will had a great argument.
• 18:09
Speaker 1: I see a couple quarterbacks that I'd probably put in
• 18:11
Speaker 1: front of him. I mean, number five, I would definitely
• 18:12
Speaker 1: put Gunnar Stockton ahead of him. But Cody Graves was
• 18:15
Speaker 1: kind of... He got the shovel out and started digging.
• 18:18
Speaker 2: Yeah, you're kind of throwing Cody Graves in the grave. No, no, no.
• 18:21
Speaker 3: You also said you're like, I have Austin Simmons at seven. Like,
• 18:24
Speaker 3: you were kind of making it your war a little bit.
• 18:26
Speaker 2: Six or seven. Because you're like, hey, where do you like?
• 18:28
Speaker 2: Because Philo. Philo's kind of nice.
• 18:29
Speaker 1: They don't ask Philo to do a whole lot, but
• 18:31
Speaker 1: he can push the ball down the field. He's got
• 18:32
Speaker 1: a lot of talent around him. Sam Levitt, yeah, he's
• 18:34
Speaker 1: got a lot of picks, but that kid can ball.
• 18:37
  Speaker 2: Wait a second.
• 18:38
  Speaker 1: Wait a second.
• 18:38
Speaker 2: Wait a second. Wait a second. Wait a second. No, no, listen.
• 18:40
Speaker 2: This is not my argument.
• 18:41
Speaker 1: This is Cody Graves.
• 18:42
Speaker 2: Oh, definitely. No, you're not animated at all right now.
• 18:44
Speaker 1: This is Cody, dude. Cody's saying all these things.
• 18:45
Speaker 2: So you're telling me interceptions from Sam Levitt that have
• 18:49
Speaker 2: happened are, yeah, whatever. You're telling me interceptions that theoretically
• 18:54
Speaker 2: in an alternate universe could have happened, but didn't with Simmons.
• 18:57
Speaker 2: I need to basically just bake into a stat profile
• 19:00
Speaker 2: as if the guy's a 50%, seven and seven type
• 19:03
Speaker 2: completion kind of guy. I think.
• 19:07
Speaker 1: When you look at it and you see balls bounce
• 19:09
Speaker 1: out of the defender's hands and there's tips and things
• 19:11
Speaker 1: might not happen, It's like, yeah, statistically, it's not there.
• 19:15
Speaker 1: But when you see the issues, those things have a
• 19:18
Speaker 1: tendency to rear its ugly head.
• 19:20
Speaker 2: So you're talking down the road.
• 19:21
Speaker 1: Hold on, hold on. This is not... Austin Simmons can
• 19:24
Speaker 1: throw the ball, bro. This is not the world I'm
• 19:27
Speaker 1: trying to live in where I am now saying Austin
• 19:29
Speaker 1: Simmons sucks. I think Austin Simmons is a great quarterback.
• 19:31
Speaker 1: I think he's a little high. Gunnar Stockton should be
• 19:35
  Speaker 1: higher than him.
• 19:37
Speaker 3: When I came in, it was, hey, you saw... you
• 19:40
Speaker 3: saw Paige rankings of the SEC quarterbacks. They're like, what
• 19:43
Speaker 3: do you think about Austin Simmons? I was like, I
• 19:45
Speaker 3: like Austin. I was like, I'll probably have Gunnar over him,
• 19:47
Speaker 3: but I kind of like, like Austin's nice. And the
• 19:50
Speaker 3: Graveyard and the Luan just duo. They're boom, hooks, left
• 19:55
Speaker 3: and right. They're talking about Sam Leavitt, Arch Manning, Aaron Filo.
• 19:58
Speaker 3: They're talking about Arch Manning? Yes.
• 20:00
Speaker 2: Is that what just came out of your mouth? Yes, bro.
• 20:02
Speaker 2: And you're just delivering what you heard this morning.
• 20:04
Speaker 1: So this is, this is propaganda right now. Is that propaganda?
• 20:09
Speaker 1: Who is in the room?
• 20:10
  Speaker 2: Is that propaganda?
• 20:11
Speaker 1: I actually did not bring up Arch Manning in the conversation.
• 20:13
Speaker 1: I sat there and I saw you and Cody Graves
• 20:15
Speaker 1: argue about it. I sat there and I was like, yeah,
• 20:18
Speaker 1: I think Austin Simmons should be a little lower on
• 20:20
Speaker 1: that list. You had Aaron Filo, Sam Leavitt. No, I
• 20:22
Speaker 1: said for sure Gunnar Stockton. I can see Filo. And
• 20:26
Speaker 1: then I did have a hesitation and a pause on
• 20:29
Speaker 1: Sam Leavitt because... the picks are really there. And UL Monroe,
• 20:34
Speaker 1: it's like, we said we could throw that out the trash. Well,
• 20:35
Speaker 1: there's three picks right there. But even that, like the
• 20:38
Speaker 1: first half of Ole Miss, like it hasn't been phenomenal.
• 20:40
Speaker 1: He has been injured. So yeah, I could see, I
• 20:44
Speaker 1: could see Simmons sitting in that five, six spot. And
• 20:46
Speaker 1: that's progress because he was six, seven. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 20:51
Speaker 1: But I did not bring up Arch Manning at all.
• 20:55
Speaker 1: I did not bring up Arch Manning. We wanted to
• 20:57
Speaker 1: know the criteria. That's propaganda.
• 21:00
Speaker 4: We want to know the criteria. If you were to
• 21:04
Speaker 4: draft a team to try to win the national championship,
• 21:06
Speaker 4: this is how you would have them ranked. If Chambliss,
• 21:10
Speaker 4: Kamario Taylor, and Keelan Russell are off the board, you're
• 21:13
Speaker 4: taking Austin Simmons to go try to win a national championship.
• 21:16
Speaker 2: I am judging it based on their body of work
• 21:17
Speaker 2: so far this year. But you could also phrase it
• 21:19
Speaker 2: like that. Based on what I've seen, if I have
• 21:23
Speaker 2: a loaded team. Let me put it this way. If
• 21:25
Speaker 2: I put Austin Simmons on Texas.
• 21:29
Speaker 2: Buddy, they're double digits, and it's a sleepy fourth quarter
• 21:32
Speaker 2: against Tennessee. I'm not crazy high.
• 21:36
Speaker 1: They didn't have 10 penalties for over 100 yards in
• 21:39
Speaker 1: the sleepy fourth quarter. Like, Texas made that game closer
• 21:42
Speaker 1: than it had to be.
• 21:42
Speaker 2: Tennessee had some bad situational penalties. But I could go
• 21:45
Speaker 2: past the Tennessee game. At what point this year have
• 21:48
Speaker 2: you looked at Arch Manning and said, well, there it is.
• 21:50
Speaker 2: There's that top three. There's that top four. Listen. The
• 21:53
Speaker 2: comeback against Ohio State. That's what you would be looking at, right?
• 21:57
Speaker 1: Prevent defense. Easier to throw the ball down the road.
• 21:59
  Speaker 2: Playground football.
• 22:00
  Speaker 3: Yes.
• 22:01
Speaker 2: So when else, like if I change the name, I
• 22:04
Speaker 2: change the logo, if that's Marcel Reed's body of work
• 22:08
Speaker 2: this year, I probably still put him a little high.
• 22:12
Speaker 2: Like you could make the argument, because if we did
• 22:13
Speaker 2: that whole what if game, Jared Curtis is Vanderbilt right now.
• 22:18
Speaker 2: Like Jared Curtis, they got nothing. And he is dragging
• 22:21
Speaker 2: a roster with him. And that dude's showing like week
• 22:24
Speaker 2: over week improvement. If I put him with Those tailbacks
• 22:28
Speaker 2: and Cam Coleman and Ryan Wingo and all those dudes,
• 22:30
Speaker 2: I guarantee you Jared Curtis would be one of the
• 22:33
Speaker 2: talks of the first half of the SEC. Wow. It's
• 22:37
  Speaker 2: not there.
• 22:38
Speaker 1: Texas is a defensive-oriented team right now.
• 22:40
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 22:41
  Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Cody?
• 22:45
Speaker 2: I mean, here's what I got out of Cody.
• 22:47
Speaker 3: I said, do you like Austin Simmons or not? Because
• 22:49
Speaker 3: we can start there. Because when he started to bring
• 22:51
Speaker 3: Arch Manning in the conversation, I'm like, bro, they're playing
• 22:54
Speaker 3: two different games right now. And he ends up saying
• 22:56
Speaker 3: he doesn't like Austin Simmons.
• 22:57
Speaker 4: No, that's not what was said. I said, what have
• 22:59
Speaker 4: we seen Austin Simmons do? We haven't seen him make
• 23:01
Speaker 4: throws in a second half to win a meaningful football game.
• 23:05
Speaker 2: Dude, I watched that Mississippi State game last week. He
• 23:07
Speaker 2: slung it last week. Yeah, he slung it. He lost
• 23:09
Speaker 2: the game. Yeah. And that's why he's not higher than four.
• 23:12
Speaker 2: But like if it'd be one thing, I don't mind
• 23:14
Speaker 2: if you put Gunnar above him because that's well within
• 23:17
Speaker 2: the frame of like arguability. I did that yesterday. I
• 23:20
Speaker 2: thought about putting him as low as six, as high
• 23:22
Speaker 2: as four. I erred on the higher side, but that's
• 23:26
Speaker 2: like that's that shades of gray past that, though. I
• 23:30
Speaker 2: look at Leavitt, I look at Menchie, Arch Manning, Jared Curtis,
• 23:33
Speaker 2: certainly anyone below him, and I haven't seen them do
• 23:37
Speaker 2: anything to me that would supersede, even if there are
• 23:40
Speaker 2: interceptable balls, the fact that they haven't been picked. He's
• 23:43
Speaker 2: 11-0 right now, right? 11 touchdowns, no interceptions? Yeah. And
• 23:47
Speaker 2: the game that he played, like he just happened to
• 23:49
Speaker 2: be unfortunate enough to be on the same field as
• 23:51
Speaker 2: Kamario Taylor last week. But that was the game of
• 23:54
Speaker 2: the week. I don't know how many people watched it
• 23:55
Speaker 2: because it was on SEC Network. But I think that
• 23:58
Speaker 2: dude's played really well. Now, he's played four games. So
• 24:02
Speaker 2: if what you're saying is true, law of averages catches
• 24:04
Speaker 2: up with him and he has like a one touchdown,
• 24:07
Speaker 2: three pick stat line coming up. Well, then we can
• 24:09
Speaker 2: reflect it in the rankings. But those aren't predictive. Those
• 24:11
Speaker 2: are reactive. That's just kind of what I've seen so far.
• 24:14
  Speaker 1: Cody?
• 24:15
Speaker 4: Yeah, I think my argument was we haven't seen it. Like,
• 24:17
Speaker 4: could he be in this spot at the end of
• 24:19
  Speaker 4: the year?
• 24:19
  Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe.
• 24:20
Speaker 4: But even a guy like Sam Levitt, who you might
• 24:22
Speaker 4: be lower on, we've seen him be a gamer and
• 24:25
Speaker 4: win games in the second half, whether it was Texas
• 24:28
Speaker 4: Tech last year when he was at ASU, where it's.
• 24:30
Speaker 5: Like, hey, we don't know how Austin Simmons reacts. To
• 24:34
Speaker 5: be clear, this is just this year. So, like, everybody
• 24:36
Speaker 5: started as if I've never met them in my life.
• 24:38
Speaker 5: And so with Levitt, his best, if I were to
• 24:42
Speaker 5: just package up his best— he would fit somewhere in
• 24:45
  Speaker 5: the 1-3 range.
• 24:46
Speaker 2: I got to factor in the streakiness, too. I also
• 24:49
Speaker 2: got to factor in the injury stuff, which is not
• 24:50
Speaker 2: his fault, but it affects who he is right now.
• 24:53
Speaker 1: He put this graphic in a vacuum, dude. Yeah, and
• 24:55
  Speaker 1: that's fair.
• 24:56
Speaker 2: That's fair criteria talk.
• 24:58
  Speaker 1: Kenny Minchie?
• 25:00
Speaker 2: Kenny looks okay. I did make one comment we need
• 25:03
Speaker 2: to address about Vanderbilt. They do have the best left
• 25:06
  Speaker 2: guard in college.
• 25:07
Speaker 3: Yeah, they do have the best left guard in college football.
• 25:13
Speaker 2: I came equipped. So far, zero catches, zero rushes. It's early,
• 25:19
Speaker 2: but zero catches, zero rushes. So the guy, theoretically, that
• 25:22
Speaker 2: he'd be getting the ball to, not so great. They
• 25:25
Speaker 2: still pushed Auburn last week, though. Plus nine and a half,
• 25:28
Speaker 2: Ramen Noodle Express. Ramen Noodle Express has been cooking right now.
• 25:32
Speaker 2: We're riding Austin Simmons. That's a hit or miss proposition, actually.
• 25:37
Speaker 2: The conversation of Austin Sims come up. Let's do Florida
• 25:39
Speaker 2: at Missouri. Florida, a couple big games in a row.
• 25:42
Speaker 2: They're favored by... What? Oh, you want to do the...
• 25:47
Speaker 2: The Ford leaderboard? Let's not skip past that.
• 25:49
Speaker 1: This Ford leaderboard segment is presented by... Ford! A hard
• 25:54
Speaker 1: day's work starts with one thing, and that's someone willing
• 25:57
  Speaker 1: to do it. And where there's a will, there's a
• 25:59
Speaker 1: Ford F-Series truck. Built Ford, huh?
• 26:03
  Speaker 2: The four-liter board's bad.
• 26:05
Speaker 1: The four-liter board is actually good and has some bad.
• 26:10
Speaker 1: Josh Pate right now is in first place with 23.03 units.
• 26:15
Speaker 1: I'm in second with 13.72. And then Will Compton, can
• 26:21
Speaker 1: you read that? You know my eyes.
• 26:22
Speaker 2: Negative 16.6. You're down 25% with Willie Ceef.
• 26:28
Speaker 1: Not if you're fading.
• 26:29
Speaker 2: Not if you're fading.
• 26:30
Speaker 1: You went to week two and you're like, fade the boy.
• 26:33
Speaker 1: So you've been doing a lot of people favors. I know.
• 26:36
Speaker 3: Look, if I'm bad, I'd just rather be, like I
• 26:38
Speaker 3: was saying, like if Josh Pate's in the lead, I
• 26:40
Speaker 3: don't mind being the worst as long as my negative
• 26:42
Speaker 3: units are more than his positive units.
• 26:44
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 26:44
Speaker 2: Because at least I'm winning the audience more money. You
• 26:48
Speaker 2: know what I mean?
• 26:48
Speaker 1: You're playing golf while everybody else is playing basketball. Yeah.
• 26:51
Speaker 2: All right. Could you say that sentence again? Because I
• 26:53
Speaker 2: was halfway listening, I was reading. So I thought I
• 26:56
Speaker 2: heard you say something, but then my mind says, there's
• 26:57
Speaker 2: no way he just said that. So the strategy there,
• 27:01
Speaker 2: as long as your negative units are more than my
• 27:05
Speaker 2: positive units... you're comfortable. I'm not quite sure what that means.
• 27:10
Speaker 3: Because if you tune in, you're up 34%, I'm down 25%.
• 27:15
Speaker 3: But if you tune into this show and it's all,
• 27:18
Speaker 3: I'm fading Will Compton, and I'm going to go the opposite.
• 27:22
Speaker 3: If I was sitting at negative 36%, to me, I'm
• 27:25
Speaker 3: winning the customer, the audience, the money.
• 27:26
Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
• 27:27
Speaker 3: Because you're tuning in Like, oh, this is Josh is
• 27:30
Speaker 3: crushing it. And his boy taps and like, no, you
• 27:33
Speaker 3: ain't seeing it clearly. You got to fade everything. Will
• 27:35
Speaker 3: Compton says, cause you're going to make more money.
• 27:38
  Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
• 27:39
Speaker 2: I get it now.
• 27:40
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 27:40
Speaker 2: Yeah. I get it now.
• 27:41
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 27:41
Speaker 2: It's pretty genius. And frankly, pretty benevolent of you too.
• 27:46
Speaker 2: You don't have to do that. Yeah. You don't have
• 27:48
Speaker 2: to do that. You could just try to win. That's
• 27:51
Speaker 2: the thing is I am trying to win. But if I'm.
• 27:54
  Speaker 1: Gonna have a spin zone, that's a spin zone. Will's
• 27:56
Speaker 1: playing a different game than the rest of us right now.
• 27:58
Speaker 1: He's playing a different game. You and I have decided
• 28:00
Speaker 1: to get on the same sport, the same court, and
• 28:03
Speaker 1: you're doing much better. Will's like, no, I'm playing.
• 28:06
Speaker 2: Singleton's playing? Under. Yes.
• 28:09
Speaker 1: Love it. 17-6 at halftime. I did love Will's thought
• 28:12
Speaker 1: process with the psychology, the research, all those things. All
• 28:16
Speaker 1: of that seemed like it was very correct when I
• 28:18
Speaker 1: looked at Florida being favored over Ole Miss last week.
• 28:21
Speaker 1: And you said all the right things. The choice you
• 28:24
Speaker 1: made at the end was insane. It was absolutely insane.
• 28:28
  Speaker 2: It was.
• 28:28
Speaker 1: I love the fact that you drew a bath. What
• 28:30
Speaker 1: does it say for Florida? What does it say for
• 28:33
Speaker 1: Florida being favored minus four and a half after two
• 28:35
Speaker 1: big games at Auburn? They beat Ole Miss, who had
• 28:38
Speaker 1: a massive win against LSU. Is the psychology saying this
• 28:41
Speaker 1: is a letdown spot? And that question, the second part
• 28:44
Speaker 1: of that question is, is what is Florida's like, I guess,
• 28:48
Speaker 1: like average game? Because they've looked phenomenal every single week
• 28:52
  Speaker 1: this season.
• 28:52
  Speaker 2: Hmm.
• 28:53
Speaker 1: That is the question that we have to kind of
• 28:55
Speaker 1: look at right now. We've already talked about Austin Simmons.
• 28:58
Speaker 3: You can't cross the sea by standing and staring at
• 29:02
  Speaker 3: the water.
• 29:04
  Speaker 2: That's true.
• 29:05
Speaker 3: Mizzou's got to tackle. Yeah, they got to go. They're
• 29:10
Speaker 3: averaging 13.5 missed tackles a game. All of a sudden,
• 29:13
Speaker 3: I'm supposed to think Mizzou is going to be the
• 29:15
Speaker 3: first team that makes Florida win by throwing the football?
• 29:20
Speaker 3: It's hard to, like, I'm trying to find a little,
• 29:22
Speaker 3: because Mizzou here, it's like they're plus four and a half. Now,
• 29:25
Speaker 3: the things that Mizzou has going for them is it's homecoming.
• 29:29
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 29:29
Speaker 3: Drink doesn't go quietly into the night in an afternoon
• 29:32
Speaker 3: game with a big.
• 29:33
Speaker 2: Dog coming to town.
• 29:34
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 29:34
Speaker 3: Um but And it's like, I like Austin Simmons. I
• 29:38
Speaker 3: do think he slings the pill very well. Like he
• 29:40
Speaker 3: has some inaccuracies, but the way he anticipate throws, the
• 29:44
Speaker 3: way he is, he doesn't blink in the red zone.
• 29:46
Speaker 3: He tries to hit the tight windows. A lot of
• 29:48
Speaker 3: the times he does. Sometimes to your point, there could
• 29:51
Speaker 3: be a lot of interceptions.
• 29:52
Speaker 2: Going the other way.
• 29:53
  Speaker 1: But they're not.
• 29:54
Speaker 3: Yeah. They don't have the run game that they've had
• 29:56
Speaker 3: in the past. Like with Ahmad Hardy out and a
• 29:58
Speaker 3: couple injuries, like they haven't been running the ball as
• 30:00
Speaker 3: well as I know Mizzou and Drink would want them
• 30:02
Speaker 3: to be running the ball well. So you're kind of
• 30:04
Speaker 3: just hanging on to Austin Simmons. They are like plus
• 30:07
Speaker 3: four in turnover margin. They do take the ball away,
• 30:09
Speaker 3: but Florida takes the ball away as well. Another positive
• 30:12
Speaker 3: for Mizzou with Florida coming into town is Florida averages
• 30:15
  Speaker 3: about 90 yards in penalties a game. They're a very
• 30:18
Speaker 3: penalized football team. So homecoming afternoon game in Mizzou, massive,
• 30:23
Speaker 3: massive win against Ole Miss. Those are the positives. I'm
• 30:27
Speaker 3: going to take Florida here to cover. I do think
• 30:31
Speaker 3: it could be. yeah it could be a one score
• 30:34
Speaker 3: game but I'm gonna go Florida because I just gotta
• 30:37
Speaker 3: buy the stock with Summerall right now like that picture
• 30:40
Speaker 3: this being a linebacker on the second level Florida runs
• 30:42
Speaker 3: the ball very well with with ball and who's the
• 30:45
Speaker 3: who's the backup because he's got juice as well Duke
• 30:48
Speaker 3: Clark Duke Clark like he's got some juice as well
• 30:51
Speaker 3: but picture yourself as a backer where your entire focus
• 30:54
Speaker 3: on the game is like hey we have to tackle
• 30:55
Speaker 3: we have to stop the run They do great at
• 30:57
  Speaker 3: stretching it out.
• 30:58
Speaker 2: They do great inside all the schemes that they do
• 31:00
Speaker 2: running the football with ball.
• 31:01
Speaker 3: And then the next moment, because when you're talking about Philo, he's,
• 31:06
Speaker 3: he doesn't have to like win games through the air,
• 31:07
Speaker 3: like downfield, a lot of things can be on the perimeter.
• 31:10
Speaker 3: So when you got Brown and Wilson, Then when you're
• 31:13
Speaker 3: trying to think so much as we have to stop
• 31:15
Speaker 3: the run, a guard and a tackle slip out on
• 31:18
Speaker 3: the edge and the perimeter, and you have to put
• 31:20
Speaker 3: your foot in the ground as a linebacker to go
• 31:21
Speaker 3: out wide against these guys who are incredible athletes, that
• 31:24
Speaker 3: they're involved in the running game just as much as ball.
• 31:27
Speaker 3: And I'm already fleeting with the backup with Clark. So
• 31:31
Speaker 3: they have, like Florida has so much.
• 31:33
Speaker 1: They have a lot of answers. Yes, they have a
• 31:34
  Speaker 1: lot of answers.
• 31:35
Speaker 3: And Philo doesn't have to win downfield because they do
• 31:37
Speaker 3: so well across the line of scrimmage all the way
• 31:40
Speaker 3: out to the sidelines. Um, so I'm going to go
• 31:43
Speaker 3: Florida here. I'm going to take them to cover. We'll
• 31:45
Speaker 3: love to see Mizzou show up, make this a game.
• 31:49
Speaker 3: I'd love to see Mizzou, um, get an upset here
• 31:52
Speaker 3: and I'd love to see me lose, but I'm going
• 31:54
Speaker 3: to go Florida with the points.
• 31:56
Speaker 2: Units. How many units?
• 31:58
Speaker 3: Um, we interrupt this episode to bring you neutral, neutral
• 32:03
Speaker 3: tastes great. It tastes so much better than any other
• 32:06
Speaker 3: vodka seltzer out there.
• 32:07
  Speaker 2: You know why?
• 32:08
Speaker 3: Because I know these taste buds know pineapple, watermelon, black cherry,
• 32:11
Speaker 3: to name a few flavors. Perfect for social occasions, and
• 32:14
Speaker 3: it is such a crowd pleaser, especially during the summer
• 32:17
Speaker 3: and even more especially during football season. Think on the
• 32:21
Speaker 3: beach with friends, at a bar watching the game, at
• 32:23
Speaker 3: your house watching with the boys. It's the perfect time
• 32:26
Speaker 3: of year to grab a 12-pack of Neutral for the
• 32:28
Speaker 3: beach or grab a bucket deal in your favorite bar
• 32:30
Speaker 3: as you celebrate the summer and root on your favorite team.
• 32:33
Speaker 1: Neutral, keep it tasty.
• 32:35
Speaker 2: Wow. That was really good, dude.
• 32:38
Speaker 1: All right, ladies and gentlemen, real quick, we're going to
• 32:39
Speaker 1: take a small break from the show. I'm going to
• 32:40
Speaker 1: show you something real quick. This is Lucy. This is espresso.
• 32:43
Speaker 1: That's my number one, that little bite and burst, that
• 32:45
Speaker 1: flavor that hits you. That's how you know the Lucys
• 32:47
Speaker 1: are hitting right now. I usually use it to focus,
• 32:49
  Speaker 1: whether it's a pre-workout, post-workout, doesn't matter if I'm on
• 32:52
Speaker 1: the computer. I put a couple of these boys in
• 32:54
Speaker 1: and I lock in. They also go up to 12 milligrams.
• 32:57
Speaker 1: So if you need a little extra hit in you,
• 32:59
Speaker 1: they got it for you. The thing I love about
• 33:00
Speaker 1: the most about them is They're not some big tobacco
• 33:03
  Speaker 1: company playing dress-up. This is like a family-owned establishment. That's
• 33:06
Speaker 1: what I love about them. Right now, you can go
• 33:09
Speaker 1: to lucy.co forward slash locker room. Use code locker room
• 33:13
Speaker 1: to get 20% off. Let me give you this fine
• 33:15
Speaker 1: print real quick. We'll get you out of here. Lucy
• 33:17
Speaker 1: products are for adults of legal age. Every customer is
• 33:19
Speaker 1: age verified. Warning, this product contains nicotine. Nicotine is an
• 33:21
Speaker 1: addictive chemical. Let's get back to this episode. Let's go
• 33:26
  Speaker 1: four on this.
• 33:27
  Speaker 2: Wow.
• 33:30
Speaker 1: How do you feel about that?
• 33:31
Speaker 2: Nine seconds to go four units. That was good, though.
• 33:34
Speaker 2: That was good. It would have been a shame if
• 33:36
  Speaker 2: anyone interrupted.
• 33:37
Speaker 1: I wish he put two units on it because history
• 33:39
Speaker 1: has shown throughout the course of the short amount of
• 33:41
Speaker 1: only four weeks sample size is when Will goes lower
• 33:44
Speaker 1: on units, that's when he hits.
• 33:46
  Speaker 2: Yep.
• 33:47
Speaker 1: And when you go higher is kind of when the
• 33:48
Speaker 1: situation of failure takes place. So if he would have
• 33:52
Speaker 1: gone two, because I like Florida as well. For all
• 33:55
Speaker 1: the reasons you brought up, I just think Florida is
• 33:57
Speaker 1: a much more complete team.
• 33:58
  Speaker 2: I am.
• 33:59
Speaker 1: so fired up watching that offensive line. And I just love...
• 34:04
Speaker 1: What's the OC? Buster Faulkner. Buster Faulkner, who we've talked
• 34:08
Speaker 1: about three times even before the show. Like, the wide
• 34:11
Speaker 1: zone taking place, getting linebackers to move east and west,
• 34:14
Speaker 1: getting the penetrating defensive lines to move east and west,
• 34:17
Speaker 1: and then hitting with duo. You just see the line
• 34:18
Speaker 1: of scrimmage absolutely moving. Like, the most leakage we saw
• 34:22
Speaker 1: from that offensive line was in the Auburn game, but
• 34:24
Speaker 1: that is more just how aggressive that defense is.
• 34:28
  Speaker 2: It's like.
• 34:29
Speaker 1: Ball has like three yards into the line of scrimmage
• 34:32
Speaker 1: before he has to make somebody miss. And that's always
• 34:34
Speaker 1: just a recipe for success. I think they're going to
• 34:38
Speaker 1: continue the elite run game. And when it comes to
• 34:41
Speaker 1: the psychology, which I really fell in love with that
• 34:44
Speaker 1: whole entire thought process because it really showed up, even
• 34:47
Speaker 1: though the result of what you wanted didn't. And I
• 34:50
Speaker 1: just think when it comes to those types of things,
• 34:52
Speaker 1: what fixes a lot of that psychology is the ability
• 34:54
Speaker 1: to lean on five guys that play as a cohesive unit.
• 34:58
Speaker 1: And they just really own the line. They just own
• 35:00
Speaker 1: it consistently throughout all four quarters. And that to me
• 35:03
Speaker 1: is just... You can hold tempo in the game. You
• 35:06
Speaker 1: can hold time of possession. You can sit back and protect.
• 35:10
Speaker 1: It opens up so much of the playbook for you
• 35:12
Speaker 1: when you have a running game the way they do.
• 35:14
Speaker 1: I think Philo, when he's asked to take shots down
• 35:16
Speaker 1: the field, he does a great job of it. And
• 35:19
Speaker 1: then from a rush standpoint, they got that. They got the–
• 35:21
  Speaker 1: who's the kid?
• 35:23
  Speaker 2: Hopkins.
• 35:24
Speaker 1: Dayton Hopkins. He got six sacks in the year. He's
• 35:26
Speaker 1: a freshman. Like he was terrorizing Kamario Taylor in this
• 35:29
Speaker 1: last game. But as much as I'm high on Florida's
• 35:33
Speaker 1: offensive line, I'm that much more down on Mississippi State's
• 35:35
Speaker 1: offensive line. And so I think they're going to handle
• 35:38
Speaker 1: business well there. He had three and a half sacks
• 35:39
Speaker 1: versus that team. I love Florida in this position. I
• 35:43
Speaker 1: love four and a half. I'm going to take Florida
• 35:47
Speaker 1: minus four and a half. I'll go three units on that.
• 35:50
Speaker 1: The thing that gives me the most hesitation is how
• 35:51
Speaker 1: many units you put on.
• 35:52
  Speaker 3: I know, I know.
• 35:54
Speaker 1: You were right, though. Yeah. Go ahead, Josh.
• 35:57
Speaker 2: I don't want to just dominate. Yeah. A lot of
• 36:01
Speaker 2: men wax poetically. Okay, I want to put out a warning. Uh-oh.
• 36:05
Speaker 2: If both of you are right, and if Florida wins,
• 36:08
Speaker 2: and let's say they won going away, I think we're
• 36:12
Speaker 2: on the precipice of something really dangerous, a narrative starting
• 36:16
Speaker 2: to take shape. So I want you to stop me
• 36:19
Speaker 2: where you've heard this before. Team that was offensively challenged
• 36:24
Speaker 2: makes some changes and then they start really, really scaling
• 36:30
Speaker 2: really hard in the SEC. And week over week, you
• 36:34
Speaker 2: keep thinking, oh, well, this is the week they come
• 36:36
Speaker 2: back to earth. But with the trio of wide receivers
• 36:38
Speaker 2: and a quarterback that's just caught fire and really good
• 36:41
Speaker 2: tailback too, they just keep scaling and keep scaling. And defensively,
• 36:45
Speaker 2: they're not great, but they can be opportunistic. And every week,
• 36:49
Speaker 2: the numbers look like four and a half, five and
• 36:51
Speaker 2: a half, and they keep winning by 17 and 20.
• 36:54
Speaker 2: I think, I'm not saying I will believe this, but
• 36:57
Speaker 2: I think we're on the precipice of one more week
• 37:00
Speaker 2: of that happening. And people go LSU 2019 on Florida
• 37:04
Speaker 2: because LSU 2019 in the rear view mirror, you could
• 37:08
Speaker 2: consider one of, if not the greatest teams of all time.
• 37:11
Speaker 2: But I remember what it was like during the season.
• 37:13
Speaker 2: And during the season, everyone kept asking, when is this
• 37:17
Speaker 2: going to go off the rails? First off, they kept saying, well,
• 37:19
Speaker 2: eventually they'll have to play Bama, but then they beat Alabama.
• 37:22
Speaker 2: And then they were off to the races. But the
• 37:24
Speaker 2: first quarter, first half of the season, people kept looking
• 37:27
Speaker 2: and they couldn't quite figure them out. So people are
• 37:30
Speaker 2: going to make that comparison. If both of you are
• 37:32
Speaker 2: right now, my instinct tells me we got a wounded
• 37:36
Speaker 2: animal in Missouri coming home, homecoming. I didn't even know that.
• 37:39
Speaker 2: So it's homecoming at Missouri. You know what that means?
• 37:42
Speaker 2: And then you've got a double do down Florida going
• 37:45
Speaker 2: on the road, getting all this praise heaped on them.
• 37:47
Speaker 2: Commissioner's poll, top 10 AP poll, top 10. Will he,
• 37:51
Speaker 2: will he, will he, is it come out this week?
• 37:53
Speaker 2: Will he see top 25?
• 37:54
Speaker 1: Yeah. Just top 25.
• 37:55
  Speaker 2: No, no.
• 37:56
  Speaker 1: They're Florida's top 10.
• 37:57
Speaker 2: Where are they? I think eight. Oh, so everyone has
• 37:59
Speaker 2: them eight. You might as well be an AP voter.
• 38:03
Speaker 2: I might as well.
• 38:04
Speaker 1: They need to hit me up.
• 38:06
Speaker 2: It's a spot where they should be due down. It's
• 38:08
Speaker 2: a spot where you should look in the third quarter
• 38:09
Speaker 2: and say, boy, man, Florida's got their hands full this week.
• 38:12
Speaker 2: That should happen. But I don't have enough confidence that
• 38:14
Speaker 2: that will happen. What I have confidence in is ESPN
• 38:17
Speaker 2: stats and information. And they have reliably informed me that
• 38:21
Speaker 2: there are 17 FBS players with 300 plus receiving yards
• 38:26
Speaker 2: and four plus touchdowns this year. 17 of them across
• 38:29
Speaker 2: our entire fruited plane. Missouri's the only team with two
• 38:32
Speaker 2: of those players. Furthermore, Florida, we've all seen them. They've
• 38:36
Speaker 2: hung 40-plus every week. They're top 20 in rush yards
• 38:40
Speaker 2: per game, explosive plays per game. At this point, I
• 38:42
Speaker 2: just think they're going to get theirs against everyone because
• 38:45
Speaker 2: much like Joe Brady 2019, Buster Faulkner 2026, he's like
• 38:50
Speaker 2: the talk of the sport because of what his offense
• 38:53
Speaker 2: is presenting. It's the antithesis of, remember the way you
• 38:56
Speaker 2: talked about Mississippi State a couple of weeks ago? You
• 38:58
Speaker 2: said Camario Taylor's a stud. This offense isn't hard to
• 39:01
Speaker 2: figure out. He's a hard player to stop. Well, Faulkner
• 39:04
Speaker 2: and what he's doing at Florida, total opposite end of
• 39:06
Speaker 2: the spectrum. Through four or five weeks, people are saying,
• 39:09
Speaker 2: that dude could be an NFL offensive coordinator. Maybe NFL
• 39:12
Speaker 2: teams will be calling him. So I think they're going
• 39:14
Speaker 2: to get theirs against everyone. And they're offering me 56
• 39:18
Speaker 2: and a half? Just like last week, I had Trinidad Chambliss,
• 39:22
Speaker 2: Aaron Filo. I had those two offenses, defenses that are very,
• 39:25
Speaker 2: very vulnerable in the secondary. They gave me 58 and
• 39:27
Speaker 2: a half. This is the easiest call of the week.
• 39:29
Speaker 2: So I'm going to pivot. I'm going to slap the
• 39:32
Speaker 2: table again. And I'm going to go over 56 and
• 39:34
Speaker 2: a half as my five unit better.
• 39:37
  Speaker 1: That's a good play. It's a good play.
• 39:40
  Speaker 2: No weather concerns.
• 39:41
  Speaker 1: It's a good play.
• 39:44
Speaker 2: First half under. Game over. Maybe.
• 39:47
Speaker 1: We're playing the same. You're playing a different game, and
• 39:49
Speaker 1: I'm with you. It makes me nervous. But both things
• 39:53
Speaker 1: covered last week. The over and Florida.
• 39:56
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 39:56
  Speaker 1: Five slapper.
• 39:58
  Speaker 2: A five slapper.
• 40:00
  Speaker 1: I'm hoping Missouri's competitive. I got it.
• 40:02
  Speaker 2: That's a home state.
• 40:03
Speaker 1: There's a level of bias in Missouri. Of course.
• 40:05
Speaker 2: Well, they do have the quarterback edge in this game.
• 40:07
Speaker 3: And they got a coach I know very well. Like,
• 40:09
Speaker 3: I'm shooting him. Like, hey, are they as advertised?
• 40:12
  Speaker 2: Yes.
• 40:12
Speaker 3: Skill players are very good. I was like, I'm trying
• 40:14
Speaker 3: to find hope on why I should pick you guys.
• 40:16
Speaker 3: We are a good pick. I like where our team
• 40:18
Speaker 3: is at. That ain't enough.
• 40:20
Speaker 1: That's not it. That's the opposite of a Dan Lanning
• 40:23
Speaker 1: speech right there. That ain't enough for me.
• 40:26
Speaker 2: Do you think John Summerall's down there looking at their
• 40:29
Speaker 2: performance so far and saying, man, we got issues, but
• 40:33
Speaker 2: we keep winning. And I'm trying to convince these guys
• 40:36
Speaker 2: we got issues, but as long as we keep winning,
• 40:38
Speaker 2: they're not going to be convinced. And he's waiting for
• 40:41
Speaker 2: the hiccup. Or do you think he's just as all
• 40:43
Speaker 2: in as everyone else? And he's like, dude, we're going
• 40:44
  Speaker 2: 16 and 0.
• 40:45
Speaker 3: I think he's such a psycho that if penalties beat
• 40:47
Speaker 3: them this game, this is like the wake-up call.
• 40:49
Speaker 1: He'd be walking in there MFing everybody.
• 40:52
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 40:52
Speaker 3: Like, I've told you guys this is a problem. And
• 40:54
Speaker 3: everybody's been patting you on the ass and telling you
• 40:56
Speaker 3: how great you are.
• 40:57
Speaker 2: And what they do.
• 40:57
Speaker 1: Because some roles, yeah.
• 40:59
Speaker 2: Willie C top 10. You shit in my hand.
• 41:00
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 41:00
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 41:02
Speaker 3: Yeah, everybody's top 10. You're the bell of the ball.
• 41:05
Speaker 2: Because penalties are a problem.
• 41:06
Speaker 1: People are officially referring to you as the 2019 LSU Tigers.
• 41:09
  Speaker 2: One week old.
• 41:10
Speaker 1: One week old. That's wild. One week old from the
• 41:14
Speaker 1: greatest team in college football. Yeah, they're really explosive. A
• 41:17
Speaker 1: little bit different the way they do it, but it's
• 41:19
Speaker 1: still really impressive. I love that game. I can't wait
• 41:21
  Speaker 1: to watch it.
• 41:22
Speaker 3: If I didn't see that missed tackle stat with Jaden
• 41:25
Speaker 3: Ball coming to town, I'd be getting more.
• 41:27
Speaker 1: Jaden Ball, best running back in college football.
• 41:29
Speaker 2: Yeah. I know you like Duke, buddy. Do what?
• 41:32
Speaker 1: You like the Duke cat.
• 41:34
Speaker 2: Nate Shepard, yeah, he's damn good, too.
• 41:36
Speaker 1: What Jaden Ball has been doing against the logos and
• 41:39
Speaker 1: the talent, it's just so impressive.
• 41:41
Speaker 2: Imagine if Florida had him last year. You say he
• 41:44
Speaker 2: was on the roster last year. Oh, my bad.
• 41:48
Speaker 1: Imagine if they used him last year.
• 41:49
  Speaker 3: Right.
• 41:49
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 41:50
Speaker 1: Dude, and Ole Miss's front seven was dominated.
• 41:55
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 41:56
Speaker 1: Dominated. And is it psychology?
• 41:57
  Speaker 2: Psychology.
• 41:58
Speaker 1: Or is it that's how good they are? That's the
• 42:00
Speaker 1: scariest thing about this.
• 42:00
Speaker 3: After last week, to me, I'm like, oh, yeah, that
• 42:02
Speaker 3: psychology stuff was spot on.
• 42:05
  Speaker 2: The only reason I don't.
• 42:06
Speaker 3: Feel like, yeah, absolutely, it's like a double letdown spot
• 42:09
Speaker 3: for Florida because they are, everybody's telling them how great
• 42:11
Speaker 3: they are, this and that. Florida, the last 10 months
• 42:14
Speaker 3: since Summerall's gotten to town, it's been, we're going to
• 42:17
Speaker 3: show people that Florida is back. Like, we're going to
• 42:19
Speaker 3: wake people up to how good we actually are in
• 42:21
Speaker 3: this building. Whereas Ole Miss, it's like, all 10 months
• 42:24
Speaker 3: in the off season. Your season didn't really get beyond
• 42:26
Speaker 3: the third week because it's like you got LSU coming
• 42:28
  Speaker 3: to town.
• 42:29
  Speaker 1: Miami at Clemson.
• 42:31
  Speaker 2: Oh, no.
• 42:32
Speaker 1: First time Miami's been on the show, right? First time
• 42:33
Speaker 1: we've looked at him. Brett Mays has entered in the chat.
• 42:37
Speaker 1: He's part of the live studio audience. He's a Miami graduate.
• 42:39
  Speaker 3: 2004?
• 42:39
  Speaker 2: Yes.
• 42:39
  Speaker 1: 2004 graduate?
• 42:41
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 42:41
  Speaker 1: All right.
• 42:44
  Speaker 5: Yeah.
• 42:46
Speaker 1: Hurricanes went down there for spring ball. Hurricanes are favored
• 42:49
Speaker 1: by minus 16 and a half. Total points in that
• 42:50
  Speaker 1: game is 47 and a half. I mean, quickly, I'll
• 42:54
Speaker 1: just go. I think I love Dabo. I love what
• 42:58
Speaker 1: he's done for the program of Clemson. They've seemed to
• 43:03
Speaker 1: kind of, for your phrase, pull the nose up a
• 43:05
Speaker 1: little bit after the LSU game. But I think this
• 43:08
Speaker 1: is the week that culture, how we feel, it's like
• 43:12
Speaker 1: this is where Miami covers. This is where Clemson officially,
• 43:17
Speaker 1: the grave is dug. And this is the end of Clemson.
• 43:21
Speaker 1: I feel that way. I think this is one of
• 43:22
Speaker 1: those games we looked at early in the season. It's
• 43:24
Speaker 1: like Clemson, Dabo, look who they brought back at their OCs.
• 43:26
Speaker 1: First time he's here since 2011. We're really excited about him.
• 43:30
Speaker 1: And it's at Clemson. They could just recharge and everyone
• 43:33
Speaker 1: was doubting. The last time they were not in the
• 43:34
Speaker 1: top 25, all the things were said. And still it's
• 43:37
Speaker 1: like you have an injury at quarterback. You now have
• 43:39
  Speaker 1: a freshman there. He's a kid that like if you're
• 43:42
Speaker 1: pushing the ball down the field more than 10 yards,
• 43:45
Speaker 1: it's very inaccurate. He's a little loose with the football
• 43:47
Speaker 1: in his hands whenever there's pressure on him. He seems
• 43:49
Speaker 1: a little bit lost out there. And so like Wesco
• 43:52
Speaker 1: and Bryant, like let's get in the ball on the perimeter,
• 43:54
Speaker 1: but they're having trouble making guys miss and the blocking
• 43:56
Speaker 1: in front of them is not awesome. And Miami has
• 43:59
Speaker 1: so many ways to beat them. I mean Mensah, I
• 44:02
Speaker 1: think winning against Wake Forest was their most competitive game
• 44:04
Speaker 1: was 20 for 20 at one point. Mark Fletcher, he's
• 44:08
Speaker 1: averaging 6.7 yards per carry. You got Tony and Bar-K,
• 44:12
Speaker 1: the Duke transfer. Those guys are operating at a high level.
• 44:15
Speaker 1: The only place I see Clemson having some type of
• 44:18
Speaker 1: edge is in the trenches because Miami's not been great
• 44:22
Speaker 1: owning the line of scrimmage, especially in the run game.
• 44:24
Speaker 1: Mark Fletcher having 6.7 yards per carry is a lot
• 44:27
Speaker 1: of his talent. It speaks to a lot of what
• 44:29
Speaker 1: he's able to do and manipulate those linebackers to get
• 44:31
Speaker 1: him into the A gap. Then he bounces out to
• 44:33
Speaker 1: the B gap and he just sees the field very clearly.
• 44:36
Speaker 1: But I see Miami and Cristobal running away with this one.
• 44:40
Speaker 1: I see them running away. So I'm going to take
• 44:42
Speaker 1: minus 16.5 on Miami, and I'm going to put three
• 44:45
Speaker 1: units on that. I'm going to stay in the two
• 44:48
Speaker 1: to four category this entire week. But I like Miami
• 44:51
  Speaker 1: a lot.
• 44:53
Speaker 2: What it's come to in the ACC.
• 44:55
Speaker 1: It kind of breaks my heart.
• 44:57
Speaker 2: I knew where you were going as soon as you
• 44:59
Speaker 2: used the, I love this guy.
• 45:00
Speaker 1: He's a good person. Yeah, that's kind of the phrase, right?
• 45:03
Speaker 1: Because I do like Dabo. I think his quirkiness is
• 45:06
  Speaker 1: kind of fun.
• 45:06
Speaker 2: We could add a fourth chair for him on next
• 45:08
  Speaker 2: year's show.
• 45:09
Speaker 1: He'd be damned. It'd be awesome.
• 45:10
Speaker 2: I'd give my chair up for him. That'd be great.
• 45:12
Speaker 1: I would be heartbroken if you did that.
• 45:14
Speaker 2: But in the meantime, we've seen them take on one competent, high-level,
• 45:19
Speaker 2: top-10 caliber roster this year. And that was in week one.
• 45:23
Speaker 2: And it was really embarrassing that the game even got
• 45:27
Speaker 2: hyped up the way it did, once you see how
• 45:29
Speaker 2: it goes. to their credit now, and they do deserve
• 45:33
Speaker 2: credit for this, they could have lost going across the
• 45:35
Speaker 2: country to Cal, and they didn't. Who else did they play?
• 45:38
Speaker 2: What was the other team they played? Georgia Southern. They
• 45:41
Speaker 2: didn't cover, but at least they won. So technically it
• 45:43
Speaker 2: could be worse. The thing about it is Miami and
• 45:46
Speaker 2: Clemson don't play a whole lot. They don't play every year.
• 45:49
Speaker 2: And it still means a lot. So it's two sides
• 45:53
Speaker 2: of the same coin here. Number one, they're way better
• 45:56
Speaker 2: than you roster-wise. Number two... Even though you're down, it
• 46:02
Speaker 2: still means a ton to be facing that tiger paw.
• 46:05
Speaker 2: So you'll get their fastball. It's not like there's any
• 46:08
Speaker 2: threat of a letdown spot. So Clemson still gets everybody's
• 46:11
Speaker 2: best shot, even though Clemson is not Clemson anymore. So
• 46:14
Speaker 2: the bottom line is you've got to deal with Miami
• 46:16
Speaker 2: for four quarters. And there's, I say, no way. There
• 46:20
Speaker 2: is no way I'm back in Clemson having to face
• 46:22
Speaker 2: Miami for four quarters. So home field's great. But home
• 46:27
Speaker 2: field only matters until the game's not in question anymore.
• 46:30
Speaker 2: And then home field empties out and people are beating
• 46:32
Speaker 2: the traffic. This is a beat the traffic situation. So
• 46:35
Speaker 2: I'm going to take Miami minus 16 and a half.
• 46:38
Speaker 2: I'll put three units on it.
• 46:41
Speaker 1: Do you think the Clemson fan base is into this
• 46:43
Speaker 1: game early or do they kind of know what's going on?
• 46:44
Speaker 2: I think they're perfectly willing to be in the game early.
• 46:47
Speaker 2: I think they're perfectly willing to buy in because everybody
• 46:50
Speaker 2: wants to see a big upset. They don't want to
• 46:52
Speaker 2: believe what we're saying. They don't want to believe their
• 46:54
Speaker 2: worst fears about their program. They don't want to believe it,
• 46:57
Speaker 2: but they're also not dumb. So if they see it start,
• 47:00
  Speaker 2: like if it's 10-0 Miami, if it's 17-3 at halftime,
• 47:04
Speaker 2: those people know offensively we're probably not scoring 17. So
• 47:08
Speaker 2: this game's already over. And then, see, here's the ugly part.
• 47:11
Speaker 2: Here's the flip side of the big home field, prime time,
• 47:16
Speaker 2: Fowler and Herbie in the house kind of conversation. It
• 47:19
Speaker 2: also gives a public platform and a huge stage for
• 47:24
Speaker 2: an ugly game to unfold in And the entire second
• 47:27
Speaker 2: half is booing. And the entire second half is cutaways
• 47:31
Speaker 2: to shots of empty bleacher seats. And this extended conversation
• 47:36
Speaker 2: about what was for Clemson versus what is now and
• 47:40
Speaker 2: what probably will be in the future. So I watched
• 47:44
Speaker 2: Ed Orgeron have this happen to him at LSU. There
• 47:46
Speaker 2: was like a, there were a couple of really, really
• 47:48
Speaker 2: big moments and LSU doesn't come through and the entire
• 47:52
Speaker 2: second half, it's just like this toxic piece of television
• 47:57
Speaker 2: that ends up being the impetus for change to be made.
• 48:00
Speaker 2: And I don't know that that's what would happen at
• 48:01
Speaker 2: Clemson because every situation is unique, but like if this
• 48:05
Speaker 2: is a runaway win, which at least two of us
• 48:07
Speaker 2: think it's going to be, it's going to be pretty uncomfortable.
• 48:11
Speaker 2: Plus that would also be the end. Cause I mean,
• 48:13
Speaker 2: that'd be Clemson's second loss. So you know there's going
• 48:15
Speaker 2: to be no playoff push. You know there's going to be,
• 48:18
Speaker 2: even if they technically, mathematically are still alive in the ACC,
• 48:22
Speaker 2: if the team you would eventually face in Charlotte smashes
• 48:25
Speaker 2: you by three-plus touchdowns in your own building, you know
• 48:29
Speaker 2: there's no traction here. We're not a player in this league.
• 48:32
Speaker 2: I'd love to believe the alternative is true. But right now,
• 48:36
Speaker 2: I think we looked at the ACC standings last night.
• 48:39
Speaker 2: I mean, whoever the second team is in the FanDuel
• 48:42
Speaker 2: odds to win the ACC right now, has equal odds
• 48:45
Speaker 2: to like the number six team to win the SEC.
• 48:48
Speaker 2: So there's this Grand Canyon already between Miami and the
• 48:52
Speaker 2: rest of the league. I do remember Miami kind of
• 48:56
Speaker 2: having Wake hang with them when they went on the
• 48:59
Speaker 2: road earlier this year. Wake's probably a better team than Clemson.
• 49:02
Speaker 2: Wake's better at quarterback.
• 49:03
Speaker 1: They just beat Louisville.
• 49:04
Speaker 2: There you go. So Wake's on the way up. If
• 49:08
Speaker 2: Wake and Clemson played today, I'd take Wake Forest straight up.
• 49:10
  Speaker 2: So I think that's a halfway good team. And that's
• 49:13
  Speaker 2: a team that's ascending too. Whereas I don't know where
• 49:15
  Speaker 2: Clemson is, so.
• 49:17
Speaker 3: Wake got after Miami's offensive line a little bit.
• 49:20
  Speaker 2: Wake's not bad.
• 49:21
Speaker 3: I'm not sold on Miami's offensive line right now, particularly
• 49:24
Speaker 3: the right side. And you look at Clemson, number 13
• 49:28
Speaker 3: and 14, Will Hilton, London Merritt. They can get after
• 49:30
Speaker 3: the quarterback. They're going to be seeing a lot of man-to-man,
• 49:33
  Speaker 3: a lot of five-man pressure, four-man simulated pressure. I'm not
• 49:37
Speaker 3: sold on the offensive line of scrimmage for Miami. But
• 49:40
Speaker 3: you look at Clemson, 125th in total yards, 127th in
• 49:43
Speaker 3: passing yards, only two touchdowns thrown in four games. They're 27%
• 49:47
Speaker 3: offensively on third down. Their only path, their only path
• 49:52
Speaker 3: is turnovers. Tate Reynolds has been sacked like 10 times.
• 49:56
  Speaker 3: I'm going under 47 and a half. I need the
• 49:58
Speaker 3: tornado man to check the weather here, but I believe
• 50:00
Speaker 3: a 75% chance of rain in Clemson on Saturday night.
• 50:04
Speaker 3: I'm going to take the under 47 and a half.
• 50:06
Speaker 3: If this ends up being 31-17, just hand me the
• 50:09
Speaker 3: antifreeze because I'm chugging it.
• 50:16
  Speaker 2: No warm bath.
• 50:18
Speaker 1: Two units on that one. Two units on the end.
• 50:22
Speaker 2: Two units on the end.
• 50:23
Speaker 1: Did he Davidson, dude?
• 50:24
Speaker 2: 159 yards? Bump it up to three. Bump it up
• 50:26
  Speaker 2: to three.
• 50:26
Speaker 1: Bump it up to three.
• 50:29
Speaker 3: I see Miami taking care of business, but dude, their
• 50:31
Speaker 3: offensive line need this crystal ball line of scrimmage. They're
• 50:34
Speaker 3: going to have time because of their schedule, but you
• 50:36
Speaker 3: do need to get them going because... Teams are getting
• 50:38
Speaker 3: after them. Teams are getting after that offensive line a
• 50:40
  Speaker 3: little bit.
• 50:41
Speaker 1: Yeah, and there's holes in the back of that secondary
• 50:43
Speaker 1: as well. There's plays to be had, but to all
• 50:46
Speaker 1: the stats you just brought up, I just don't see...
• 50:47
Speaker 1: Clemson's offense ain't going to... They've not shown the ability
• 50:52
Speaker 1: to push the ball down the field.
• 50:53
Speaker 2: Not at all. You know, the worst part is Clemson
• 50:55
Speaker 2: defensive staff is watching that Miami film and they're saying,
• 50:59
Speaker 2: good news, bad news, boys. Good news, it's there. Bad
• 51:02
Speaker 2: news is, we can't take advantage of it.
• 51:04
Speaker 1: We can't take advantage of it.
• 51:06
Speaker 2: Someone will. Not us, though. Yeah.
• 51:08
Speaker 1: We can paint the picture for them.
• 51:09
Speaker 2: We don't have that Wake Forest version.
• 51:10
Speaker 1: We can show them, hey, that's where you would throw it,
• 51:12
Speaker 1: right there. You would put it in this little hole
• 51:14
Speaker 1: right there. That's about it. If you can do that,
• 51:16
Speaker 1: we're going to feel good.
• 51:17
  Speaker 2: Yes.
• 51:18
Speaker 1: Ohio State at Iowa.
• 51:20
  Speaker 2: Oh, boy.
• 51:21
Speaker 1: Ohio State's favored minus four.
• 51:24
Speaker 2: Yeah, what's our number right now?
• 51:25
Speaker 1: This is incorrect. It says here that Iowa's favored by
• 51:27
  Speaker 1: 14.5 on my sheet. I know that's incorrect. So I'll
• 51:30
Speaker 1: just go ahead and make an assumption that Ohio State's
• 51:32
Speaker 1: favored by 14.5 points. Total in that game is 58.5.
• 51:38
  Speaker 1: Big number.
• 51:40
Speaker 2: Huge number. So that's higher.
• 51:41
Speaker 1: Is that also incorrect?
• 51:43
  Speaker 2: 45.5.
• 51:43
Speaker 1: Okay, so whatever this was given, this is crazy.
• 51:46
  Speaker 2: That's the 2016.
• 51:47
  Speaker 1: I'm looking at that and I was like, I didn't
• 51:49
Speaker 1: know the total was there. Give me the under five
• 51:51
  Speaker 1: units immediately.
• 51:52
Speaker 3: He must have been typing that in when the Austin
• 51:54
Speaker 3: Simmons conversation was taking place.
• 51:56
Speaker 1: Yeah, sweating bullets. This has got to be crazy.
• 52:01
Speaker 2: Well, this is stupid. I'm not going to waste a
• 52:04
Speaker 2: whole lot of time.
• 52:04
Speaker 1: On this sheet, it says Iowa's favored by 14 and
• 52:06
Speaker 1: a half, but Iowa money line is plus 500.
• 52:08
Speaker 2: Hey, he makes a mistake. No, no, yeah, yeah.
• 52:13
Speaker 1: All good. All good. It just scared me when I
• 52:15
Speaker 1: saw it. I was like, oh, I'm going to slap
• 52:16
Speaker 1: the table as fast as possible for this under.
• 52:17
Speaker 2: That brings back fond memories of you laying points with
• 52:20
Speaker 2: a favorite last year, but taking the dog outright.
• 52:23
Speaker 1: On the money line. Fond memories. Listen, two teams I
• 52:29
Speaker 1: can't stand right now. How do you guys feel about it?
• 52:32
  Speaker 1: It's Ohio State minus 14 and a half. It's what
• 52:34
Speaker 1: it is. It's what it is? It's what it is.
• 52:37
Speaker 1: I'm not wasting a whole lot of time on this game.
• 52:38
Speaker 3: Like, Iowa is not the Iowa you're like, And look,
• 52:42
Speaker 3: another straight bet that you can dive into FanDuel on
• 52:45
Speaker 3: is the total rushing yards for Ohio State.
• 52:47
Speaker 2: It's sitting at like.
• 52:48
Speaker 3: 104 and a half yards. So you go over on that,
• 52:52
Speaker 3: you get you a nice little straight bet there.
• 52:54
Speaker 2: Why wouldn't you just do that.
• 52:56
  Speaker 1: Like a prop? I don't think, I think that's not
• 52:58
Speaker 1: the show for that. I think if you want to
• 52:59
Speaker 1: do that, you go look over at the NFL show.
• 53:02
Speaker 2: It is in my parlay.
• 53:03
Speaker 1: It's in your parlay.
• 53:04
Speaker 3: Spoiler alert, Ohio State rushing yards is in my parlay.
• 53:07
Speaker 1: When's the last time that Ohio State played in Iowa?
• 53:09
  Speaker 2: 2017.
• 53:11
Speaker 1: And then what was the score of that game?
• 53:13
  Speaker 2: 55-24. Who had 55? Iowa.
• 53:16
  Speaker 1: Really?
• 53:17
Speaker 2: Yeah. Nate Stanley, 20-31 that day. What's that?
• 53:19
  Speaker 1: You're talking about 2017? I mean, that's the last time
• 53:22
Speaker 1: these two teams played. And they were dogs. I think
• 53:25
Speaker 1: they're 2-0, home dogs, too. Like, I agree. Like, this
• 53:31
Speaker 1: should absolutely be Ohio State minus 14.5. Iowa's just got
• 53:36
Speaker 1: to wait. You and I know this better than anybody,
• 53:37
Speaker 1: but what just happened to me last week and my
• 53:39
Speaker 1: team and what's happened to you for....
• 53:42
  Speaker 2: A long time.
• 53:44
Speaker 1: They have a way of just kind of dragging you
• 53:47
Speaker 1: in the quicksand. They're essentially an 80s horror film where
• 53:49
Speaker 1: you're running away the entire time and the villain is
• 53:51
Speaker 1: just walking and somehow they get to you. Like, I'm
• 53:55
Speaker 1: not saying Iowa's going to win this game. Like, the
• 53:58
Speaker 1: film itself is like Iowa. Like, they're statistically, this is
• 54:02
Speaker 1: why stats are a lie, like they were the number
• 54:03
Speaker 1: one defense. But Michigan has struggled on offense at almost
• 54:06
Speaker 1: 500 yards of offense. And Ohio State is a better offense, clearly.
• 54:12
Speaker 1: But one way or another, I could see Iowa just
• 54:16
Speaker 1: being like, you're going to play our game. And Ohio
• 54:19
Speaker 1: State's still going to win. But 14 and a half
• 54:22
Speaker 1: is a lot. So I'll take Iowa plus 14 and
• 54:25
  Speaker 1: a half.
• 54:25
Speaker 3: You're undefeated this year taking Iowa covering.
• 54:29
  Speaker 2: Ooh.
• 54:29
Speaker 1: Oh, so you felt a little type of way when
• 54:31
Speaker 1: I brought up what happened here in Nebraska.
• 54:34
Speaker 3: No, I'm just statistically like you are.
• 54:36
Speaker 1: Yes, I am. They overachieved for me a little too
• 54:39
Speaker 1: much last week. And I didn't like that, but I
• 54:42
Speaker 1: was still correcting my pick. So I'll take Iowa.
• 54:48
  Speaker 2: 14 and a half.
• 54:49
Speaker 1: I don't know how they do it, but I still
• 54:51
Speaker 1: can't figure out how they beat Michigan last week. So
• 54:55
Speaker 1: that's how I feel. I'll do three units on that.
• 54:59
Speaker 1: Three units on that.
• 55:00
Speaker 2: Okay. Give me the four unit juggernaut.
• 55:03
Speaker 1: Slap the table, dude. No, I got my slap at
• 55:06
  Speaker 1: the table.
• 55:06
Speaker 2: I knew he had something in his pocket. Yeah. I
• 55:09
Speaker 2: can see something in his pocket, and it's not this.
• 55:11
Speaker 2: I got an idea of where it's at, too. So
• 55:14
Speaker 2: you're thinking back. Crazy stuff happens here. Iowa pulls a
• 55:17
Speaker 2: classic Iowa. Remember the 2017 game? Nate Stanley in that game.
• 55:21
Speaker 2: 20 of 31, five touchdowns through the air.
• 55:24
  Speaker 1: Wow.
• 55:25
Speaker 2: An Iowa quarterback did that. This is going to be
• 55:28
Speaker 2: tough to read because it's my handwriting. Can you read
• 55:30
  Speaker 2: that warning?
• 55:33
Speaker 3: A lot of irrelevant stuff will be floating. Will be
• 55:39
Speaker 3: floating about. A lot of irrelevant stuff will be floating about.
• 55:43
Speaker 2: The 2017 game is so irrelevant to me. Iowa is
• 55:46
Speaker 2: a lie. What they did last week notwithstanding. Like Iowa
• 55:50
Speaker 2: this year is a total lie. So you think to yourself, self,
• 55:55
Speaker 2: I know Iowa football. But like, do you? You know
• 55:58
Speaker 2: Iowa historically. And I'm talking to myself. This is me
• 56:01
Speaker 2: talking to me. Everyone just is privy to this conversation
• 56:04
Speaker 2: because I'm thinking, all right, well, the way Iowa would
• 56:06
Speaker 2: do this is they would just clamp down on a
• 56:10
Speaker 2: passing game. Jeremiah Smith, this is the one game he's
• 56:13
Speaker 2: not going to go off. Michigan had two receivers over
• 56:15
Speaker 2: 100 yards last week. They're not clamping down on them. Yeah,
• 56:18
Speaker 2: but maybe they'll get after Julian Sane because, you know,
• 56:21
Speaker 2: in pressure pockets, 58% completion guy last year. You know what?
• 56:26
Speaker 2: 17 sacks last year. Iowa hasn't gotten pressure on anyone
• 56:29
Speaker 2: this year. That's fair. That's also a good point. Thirdly,
• 56:31
Speaker 2: maybe Iowa will just grind the ball on the ground
• 56:34
Speaker 2: and shorten the game. Illinois actually had 200 on them
• 56:39
Speaker 2: last week. It's Iowa that has 131 yards total rushing
• 56:44
Speaker 2: against Iowa State and Michigan. Those are the two P4
• 56:47
Speaker 2: teams they've played. So they can't get pressure. They can't
• 56:50
Speaker 2: run the ball. You can throw the ball on them
• 56:52
Speaker 2: this year. I will go four units on Ohio State
• 56:56
Speaker 2: minus 14 and a half. And that's only because they
• 56:58
Speaker 2: were crazy enough to offer me 56 and a half
• 57:02
Speaker 2: as the total on the Florida game, or else I
• 57:03
Speaker 2: would make this five units. It will be a very
• 57:05
Speaker 2: boring game. Prayers up to CBS for carrying this game.
• 57:09
Speaker 2: Second half, you're going to want to find something else
• 57:10
Speaker 2: to do besides watch this game. Jeremiah Smith will go
• 57:13
Speaker 2: off against that secondary. And the only reason he won't
• 57:16
Speaker 2: is if that Ohio State offensive staff does the math
• 57:19
Speaker 2: and they look and they say, the only way we
• 57:22
Speaker 2: lose this game is if we give it away and
• 57:25
Speaker 2: put the ball in the air. Because otherwise, if they're
• 57:27
Speaker 2: aggressive at all in this game, they will quickly dispel
• 57:32
Speaker 2: the myth that is Iowa as a contender this year.
• 57:36
Speaker 1: Everything you just said is why Iowa covers. Because everything
• 57:40
Speaker 1: you said just made too much sense.
• 57:41
Speaker 2: So you think this is just, this is Iowa being Iowa.
• 57:43
Speaker 2: Like you think it's going to be that kind of game.
• 57:45
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 57:46
Speaker 1: Cause I like, listen, Iowa state and Michigan, like whole,
• 57:49
Speaker 1: I think Michigan held in like 60 total rushing yards
• 57:52
Speaker 1: and all of their, all of their rushing yards have
• 57:54
Speaker 1: come from like absolute muffins, G6, FCS schools. Like they
• 57:58
Speaker 1: don't have, there's not a leg to stand on anywhere yet.
• 58:01
Speaker 1: They always kind of just figure out a way to
• 58:03
Speaker 1: like muddle around and be there. So all the statutes
• 58:07
Speaker 1: that are correct, there's a thousand reasons why I go
• 58:10
Speaker 1: Ohio State. But that's why Iowa just fucking drags you
• 58:14
  Speaker 1: into the abyss.
• 58:15
Speaker 2: You know what else I just remembered? A thousand and
• 58:17
Speaker 2: one reasons. Ohio State's already been on the road and
• 58:21
Speaker 2: had an early lead and watched it evaporate. So that's
• 58:24
Speaker 2: even more reason for them not to just stab you
• 58:27
Speaker 2: in the neck, but to cut your head off before
• 58:30
Speaker 2: they leave the building. I don't think this game will
• 58:32
  Speaker 2: be close.
• 58:33
  Speaker 1: It is Spooktober.
• 58:34
Speaker 2: It is the first time I've thought about going alt-line.
• 58:36
Speaker 2: Because I would take this all the way up to
• 58:37
Speaker 2: 20 and a half. Wow. Yeah. Do it. But I'm
• 58:39
Speaker 2: not going to do it because I feel like I'm
• 58:41
Speaker 2: in good position right now. But I'm going to put
• 58:42
Speaker 2: four units on that one.
• 58:44
Speaker 1: You've loved this pick.
• 58:46
Speaker 3: The audience is sitting there just juiced.
• 58:48
  Speaker 1: Salivating right now.
• 58:49
  Speaker 2: I like it a lot. I like it a lot.
• 58:51
Speaker 2: A lot of people are watching this on Spooktober too. Yeah.
• 58:54
Speaker 1: Getting excited about all the things you're saying.
• 58:56
  Speaker 2: We are there.
• 58:57
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 58:57
  Speaker 2: We are there.
• 58:58
Speaker 1: Biggest Spooktober of Bust with the Boy's Lives.
• 59:00
Speaker 2: I hope so, because last year... Yeah, agreed. Some people
• 59:06
  Speaker 2: were upset.
• 59:07
Speaker 1: Yeah, like the everything you just said is the truth
• 59:10
Speaker 1: i can't get mad at the truth that's the reality
• 59:12
Speaker 1: situation boys real quick want to tell you about a
• 59:15
Speaker 1: profit boost token that you can use to boost your
• 59:17
Speaker 1: winnings on college football game this friday money line spreads
• 59:21
Speaker 1: maybe even a SGP. No matter how you play, FanDuel

• 59:36
Speaker 1: There's a lot of enthusiasm in that voice, Papa Pete.
• 59:37
Speaker 1: I hope you enjoyed that. Back to this episode. Bustin
• 59:41
Speaker 1: and Pete on campus. Yep. Headed to Blacksburg. Virginia Tech.
• 59:44
  Speaker 2: Yes.
• 59:44
Speaker 1: They're playing Pitt at home because otherwise we wouldn't go there.
• 59:48
Speaker 1: Virginia Tech's favorite, minus 3.5 right now. Total points in
• 59:52
Speaker 1: that game is 54.5. Willie C., what are you feeling, buddy?
• 59:57
  Speaker 2: Virginia Tech.
• 59:59
Speaker 3: Going for a 5-0 start for the first time since 05.
• 1:00:01
Speaker 2: Yeah. I have two questions on this game.
• 1:00:05
Speaker 3: The first one is, can Virginia Tech, can their pass
• 1:00:07
Speaker 3: rush get after Mason?
• 1:00:09
Speaker 2: How in the hell do you say his last name?
• 1:00:10
  Speaker 2: Hein Schultz.
• 1:00:11
Speaker 1: Heinz. So that was gonna be my one question. Yeah.
• 1:00:14
Speaker 2: How do you pronounce his last name?
• 1:00:15
  Speaker 1: Yes.
• 1:00:16
Speaker 3: Because he's clean. Like he's he's good with a clean pocket.
• 1:00:19
Speaker 2: Like he had over.
• 1:00:20
  Speaker 3: I mean, he's had a thousand yards and about 13
• 1:00:24
Speaker 3: touchdowns against nobody's VMI and Old Dominion. But when he's
• 1:00:28
Speaker 3: won against Syracuse and who else did they play?
• 1:00:30
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:00:31
Speaker 3: And UCF like that, you know, they did a good
• 1:00:32
  Speaker 3: job by getting.
• 1:00:33
Speaker 1: After having those scores low.
• 1:00:34
Speaker 3: So can Virginia Tech's pass rush get after? Virginia Tech
• 1:00:37
Speaker 3: leads the country in sacks. 12 of those sacks, again,
• 1:00:40
  Speaker 3: came from nobodies.
• 1:00:41
  Speaker 2: Yep.
• 1:00:42
Speaker 3: Didn't come from the bigger dogs. But again, can that
• 1:00:44
Speaker 3: pass rush come alive? And then my second question would be,
• 1:00:48
Speaker 3: can Pitt make Grunkmeier throw the ball downfield? Because he's
• 1:00:52
Speaker 3: been very efficient. He doesn't turn the ball over. They're
• 1:00:55
Speaker 3: able to lean on Overton and Hawkins in the run game.
• 1:00:58
Speaker 3: But also, Pitt is very good at stopping the run.
• 1:01:00
  Speaker 3: They're 7th in the country. So they're like a brick
• 1:01:02
Speaker 3: wall as far as it comes to the line of
• 1:01:03
Speaker 3: scrimmage in their front seven. To me, the X factor
• 1:01:06
Speaker 3: is gonna be Lane Stadium. There's gonna be so much
• 1:01:08
Speaker 3: juice there. And also Pitt's first game on the road
• 1:01:12
Speaker 3: leaving their hometown, but they're also, how many penalties coming
• 1:01:16
Speaker 3: into this game? Like 32 over the last three games?
• 1:01:20
Speaker 2: 131st in the country. Yeah, bad at penalties.
• 1:01:23
Speaker 3: First road game, Lane Stadium, I think that is the
• 1:01:25
  Speaker 3: X factor. I think this is a close game. I
• 1:01:27
Speaker 3: think it's a field goal game. I got Virginia Tech winning,
• 1:01:30
Speaker 3: but I am going to take Pittsburgh. I'm going to
• 1:01:32
Speaker 3: take Pitt plus three and a.
• 1:01:34
Speaker 1: Half with the points. Pittsburgh is using their full government name.
• 1:01:36
  Speaker 1: Full government.
• 1:01:37
  Speaker 3: Full government name. I think it's a tight line. I'm
• 1:01:40
Speaker 3: going to take, again, a field goal game. Because on paper,
• 1:01:43
Speaker 3: I do think Pitt's better. But again, in this environment,
• 1:01:47
Speaker 3: all those penalties, I don't know. I just like Pitt
• 1:01:51
Speaker 3: with the points here. And again, to the Hokie fans
• 1:01:53
Speaker 3: out there, I do think you guys win the football game.
• 1:01:56
Speaker 2: Heinzschel. Heinzschel? Heinzschel, yeah.
• 1:01:59
Speaker 1: Heinzschel. Heinzschel. He's a good quarterback. Six of his seven
• 1:02:04
Speaker 1: touchdowns have come from the FCS and G6. He's excelled
• 1:02:09
Speaker 1: against lesser talent, and then you can see a big
• 1:02:11
Speaker 1: change in total offense between the Power Four teams versus
• 1:02:16
Speaker 1: the G6 and FCS schools. Virginia Tech, I think, do
• 1:02:21
Speaker 1: a better job of running the football, and Pitt's defense
• 1:02:24
Speaker 1: is very salty between the tackles. I think it was Syracuse,
• 1:02:28
Speaker 1: that film. Anytime Syracuse tried to run it between the
• 1:02:31
Speaker 1: two tackles, it seemed like it would get stuffed. Those
• 1:02:33
Speaker 1: linebackers absolutely fly around. And then at one point in
• 1:02:36
Speaker 1: that game, they started to figure out, oh, if we
• 1:02:38
Speaker 1: kind of run towards the perimeter, then you see a
• 1:02:41
Speaker 1: lot more explosive plays, those plays that go for four
• 1:02:43
Speaker 1: or more yards. So there's kind of a blueprint in
• 1:02:45
Speaker 1: how to run the ball versus this front seven, and
• 1:02:48
Speaker 1: it's to hit it. around the numbers outside the hashes.
• 1:02:51
Speaker 1: And I think Virginia, if I can see it, Virginia
• 1:02:52
Speaker 1: Tech can see it. Gronkmaier, 74 completion percentage. He takes
• 1:02:56
Speaker 1: care of the football, ATD zero interceptions. And then Luke Reynolds,
• 1:02:59
Speaker 1: the tight end. Having a tight end of his ability,
• 1:03:03
Speaker 1: who's kind of like your... like NFL's toward a tight end.
• 1:03:07
Speaker 1: Like he can block, but also like makes great catches
• 1:03:09
Speaker 1: on the sidelines, like really good acrobatic body control catches.
• 1:03:13
Speaker 1: That's a great guy to kind of like have in
• 1:03:16
Speaker 1: a five to eight yard vicinity at any point for
• 1:03:18
Speaker 1: him to dump it down and give it to him.
• 1:03:21
Speaker 1: I just, he can, I see Virginia tech controlling this game.
• 1:03:23
Speaker 1: I think they have the ability to do it. The
• 1:03:24
Speaker 1: weather is it supposed to rain? I know it's supposed
• 1:03:26
Speaker 1: to rain during our show.
• 1:03:27
  Speaker 2: Great question.
• 1:03:28
Speaker 1: And then it's like 81 degrees. And then the next
• 1:03:30
Speaker 1: day it's like 63. We got a weatherman, do you know?
• 1:03:34
Speaker 1: I think if it's, do you know?
• 1:03:36
Speaker 2: Do you want me to let you know right now?
• 1:03:38
Speaker 1: Yeah, you can let me know right now.
• 1:03:39
Speaker 2: Well, Delaney Willis, local meteorologist in that area up there,
• 1:03:44
Speaker 2: had this to say. Pay close attention. Volume up.
• 1:03:48
Speaker 1: This Friday night, a pretty big event.
• 1:03:49
Speaker 7: We have the Hokies under the Friday night lights playing Pitt,
• 1:03:52
Speaker 7: and we have some nice weather.
• 1:03:54
Speaker 1: On deck for that.
• 1:03:54
Speaker 7: 81 degrees of high temperature on Friday. A little earlier
• 1:03:57
Speaker 7: in the afternoon, about 2 to 3 p.m., Bussum and
• 1:04:00
Speaker 7: Pate on campus in Hokie Village have great weather for
• 1:04:03
Speaker 7: that in Blacksburg, 85. I will mention that afternoon you
• 1:04:06
Speaker 7: may have a couple of showers to dodge, so we
• 1:04:08
Speaker 7: want to keep that poncho handy just in case 7
• 1:04:10
Speaker 7: o'clock kickoff, 72 degrees with a couple of showers.
• 1:04:14
  Speaker 2: Thank you, Delaney.
• 1:04:15
  Speaker 6: Okay.
• 1:04:16
  Speaker 1: Thank you, Delaney.
• 1:04:17
  Speaker 3: Shout out Delaney.
• 1:04:17
Speaker 1: Shout out on that. That was absolutely beautiful. So a
• 1:04:22
Speaker 1: couple of showers. Hopefully it does rain a little bit.
• 1:04:24
Speaker 1: Both teams want to run the ball. I just see
• 1:04:26
Speaker 1: Virginia Tech having more success. The ball in Gronkmeyer's hands.
• 1:04:30
Speaker 1: I feel like he is going to produce. I'm going
• 1:04:31
Speaker 1: to take Virginia Tech to win this game. I'm also
• 1:04:33
Speaker 1: going to take him to cover three and a half.
• 1:04:35
Speaker 1: I'm fired up to be going for the home team
• 1:04:37
Speaker 1: this week. I'll put three units on that. But yeah,
• 1:04:41
Speaker 1: James Franklin, man. James Franklin's got him cooking a little bit.
• 1:04:43
Speaker 1: He's taking some of those Penn State guys transferred them over,
• 1:04:46
Speaker 1: and they're having a lot of success in the ACC.
• 1:04:48
Speaker 1: I like them. They're ACC good, Virginia Tech.
• 1:04:50
  Speaker 2: ACC good.
• 1:04:51
Speaker 1: They're ACC good. I like where they're at right now.
• 1:04:53
Speaker 1: A lot of ACC good teams in that conference. Josh Payne.
• 1:04:58
Speaker 2: One of these teams will be ranked next week. Wow.
• 1:05:00
Speaker 2: Some are saying they should be ranked right now. I
• 1:05:03
Speaker 2: don't know if the Willie Seapole had them in there.
• 1:05:04
Speaker 1: Willie Seapole has them both in there.
• 1:05:06
Speaker 2: They're both in there. The AP said, piss on the ACC.
• 1:05:08
Speaker 2: We don't care about any of them. So you already
• 1:05:11
Speaker 2: mentioned this. So I'm just going to I'm going to
• 1:05:13
Speaker 2: re paper pop what kind of both of you said.
• 1:05:15
Speaker 2: And that is Mason Heinzel. How are we really supposed
• 1:05:17
Speaker 2: to know? Because it's he's like a splits quarterback right now.
• 1:05:20
Speaker 2: And if you look against your UCS and Syracuse's 212
• 1:05:25
Speaker 2: and 123 respectively. But he really, really got fat on
• 1:05:29
Speaker 2: inferior competition. Not the same time. If I'm thinking Virginia
• 1:05:33
Speaker 2: Tech defensive numbers, that's great. But they're kind of a
• 1:05:36
Speaker 2: splits defense right now. They faced Malik Washington at Maryland,
• 1:05:40
Speaker 2: 30 of 44, 359 through the air, three touchdowns. So
• 1:05:44
Speaker 2: we're trying to figure it out. This is week five
• 1:05:46
Speaker 2: for all of us, us too. Like we're trying to
• 1:05:47
Speaker 2: figure out who's real and who's not. You got to
• 1:05:50
Speaker 2: wonder if those havoc numbers verify for Virginia Tech. Because
• 1:05:54
Speaker 2: the sack numbers, they're top five in the country. They're
• 1:05:56
Speaker 2: very aggressive. And that with home field at your back,
• 1:06:00
Speaker 2: like that's going to be tough for Pitt to deal with.
• 1:06:02
Speaker 2: And if that's the case, we could be looking at
• 1:06:04
Speaker 2: like 27 to 10. It is a very, very interesting
• 1:06:09
Speaker 2: conversation about who has the quarterback edge in this game.
• 1:06:13
Speaker 2: I think it's evenly enough matched where I just want
• 1:06:15
Speaker 2: to sit there and wait and watch and find out myself.
• 1:06:18
Speaker 2: But this is Lane Stadium at night. And this is
• 1:06:21
Speaker 2: the first time in a long time that people are
• 1:06:25
Speaker 2: circling a primetime standalone game at Lane Stadium. Blacksburg, Virginia
• 1:06:31
Speaker 2: at night used to mean something. And I hope it
• 1:06:33
Speaker 2: does again. And the first opportunity that we as a
• 1:06:36
Speaker 2: college football public have to witness it in the James
• 1:06:39
Speaker 2: Franklin era is this Friday night. And I simply cannot
• 1:06:42
Speaker 2: believe that they're going to screw it up. This is
• 1:06:45
Speaker 2: not sand that's going to slip through their fingers. So
• 1:06:48
Speaker 2: I'll take Virginia Tech. I'll lay those points for two units.
• 1:06:56
  Speaker 2: Two units.
• 1:06:57
Speaker 3: You had me thinking there at the end. I'm like,
• 1:06:58
Speaker 3: has he slapped the table yet? It seems like he's
• 1:07:00
Speaker 3: about to slap the table.
• 1:07:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think he's about to slap the table a
• 1:07:01
Speaker 1: little bit. Two units, that's it? I'm going to tap
• 1:07:04
  Speaker 1: the table. A gentle little tap. A two-unit tap. A
• 1:07:07
Speaker 1: two-unit tap. They just feel more dependent. I say my units.
• 1:07:10
  Speaker 1: I'll go three.
• 1:07:11
  Speaker 2: Three? Three units.
• 1:07:12
Speaker 1: They do feel they're more dependable.
• 1:07:14
  Speaker 2: They do.
• 1:07:15
Speaker 1: Gravely Game of the Week.
• 1:07:16
  Speaker 2: Buy a lawnmower.
• 1:07:17
Speaker 1: Buy a lawnmower. Get yourself a lawnmower.
• 1:07:18
Speaker 2: Zero turn. The whole thing.
• 1:07:19
Speaker 1: Very fun. Very exciting. Nothing like cutting grass. I don't
• 1:07:22
Speaker 1: do it, but I know there's a lot of people
• 1:07:23
Speaker 1: out there that tell me how exciting it is. So
• 1:07:25
Speaker 1: shout out Gravely on that. The Gravely Game of the
• 1:07:27
Speaker 1: Week is Alabama at Mississippi State. Alabama, minus 5.5. Total
• 1:07:34
Speaker 1: points in that game is 60.5 points. No one could
• 1:07:37
Speaker 1: possibly think to take that over. No one could possibly
• 1:07:40
Speaker 1: think to take that over. Willie C., you said you
• 1:07:42
Speaker 1: have a slap coming at some point. Well, this is
• 1:07:46
Speaker 1: the last game. I can't slap my parlay. You cannot
• 1:07:51
  Speaker 1: slap your parlay.
• 1:07:52
  Speaker 2: It's a good strategy, though.
• 1:07:53
Speaker 1: It's a really good strategy. That would be awesome, though,
• 1:07:56
Speaker 1: if you did that and hit it.
• 1:07:58
  Speaker 2: Game's totally changed.
• 1:07:59
  Speaker 3: Five, like, boom!
• 1:08:07
Speaker 2: I've been thinking a lot about this game. Still are.
• 1:08:12
Speaker 3: Still thinking about it. Mississippi State. First ranked win since 2014.
• 1:08:19
Speaker 3: Hurts the Huskers a little bit because now we're even
• 1:08:21
Speaker 3: getting lower on the totem pole because we haven't had
• 1:08:22
  Speaker 3: one since 16.
• 1:08:24
Speaker 1: They're riding high right now. They're ranked.
• 1:08:26
Speaker 3: Kamario Taylor, Heisman front, or not front runner, but he's
• 1:08:29
Speaker 3: on that short list of Heisman candidates. He'd be in
• 1:08:30
  Speaker 3: New York today.
• 1:08:31
Speaker 1: Yes. McGee, stud. Who's that slot receiver?
• 1:08:35
  Speaker 2: Evans. Stud.
• 1:08:37
Speaker 1: They got a lot of juice.
• 1:08:38
Speaker 2: Fluff. You can talk about his low center of gravity.
• 1:08:40
  Speaker 1: He's a tough tackle. Stud.
• 1:08:43
Speaker 3: They have all these things, right? And I've talked, like
• 1:08:46
Speaker 3: Mississippi State fans, they're still in my mentions. We'll talk
• 1:08:48
Speaker 3: about how simple our offense is, yada, yada, yada. Trust me,
• 1:08:52
Speaker 3: I'm with you. Much easier said than done. I thought
• 1:08:55
Speaker 3: Mizzou had a good game plan for him last week.
• 1:08:57
Speaker 3: He kind of shit the bed in the fourth quarter.
• 1:08:59
Speaker 3: Ran a lot of two-shell in that first half and
• 1:09:01
Speaker 3: kind of went with a lighter box. Because to me,
• 1:09:03
Speaker 3: it's like, give up five, six yards to Fluff Brown. Like,
• 1:09:06
Speaker 3: do not allow Kamario Taylor to hit you over the
• 1:09:09
Speaker 3: top like he did in that first half. Because it
• 1:09:11
Speaker 3: is beautiful. However, I think Keylon Russell, I think he's
• 1:09:16
Speaker 3: going to be the best quarterback on Saturday. I think
• 1:09:19
Speaker 3: we haven't got to see this potential get tapped. In
• 1:09:23
Speaker 3: Alabama's back five, back seven, they're passing defense. They're kind
• 1:09:27
Speaker 3: of susceptible to explosives right now. They are one of
• 1:09:31
Speaker 3: the better third down defenses in the country. To me,
• 1:09:33
Speaker 3: it's all about third down. It's all about red zone
• 1:09:35
  Speaker 3: in this game.
• 1:09:36
Speaker 2: I like Bama here. I love Bama here. I love
• 1:09:39
  Speaker 2: Bama so much.
• 1:09:40
Speaker 3: I'm moving this line to Alabama minus nine and a half,
• 1:09:43
Speaker 3: and I'm slapping the table with five units.
• 1:09:45
  Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah.
• 1:09:49
Speaker 3: Take that, Mississippi State fans. Can't wait to see my
• 1:09:52
Speaker 3: mentions next week. Because if this goes the other direction,
• 1:09:54
Speaker 3: which it very most likely will, because I got five
• 1:09:57
Speaker 3: units on this game, and Alabama's probably going to win
• 1:10:00
Speaker 3: by eight, I have a good feeling about Bama. I
• 1:10:04
Speaker 3: just think that they're going to see the formula for
• 1:10:07
Speaker 3: how to stop the run. I think a guy you
• 1:10:08
Speaker 3: got to keep your eye on. I need my man
• 1:10:10
Speaker 3: to get a little bit better in his conditioning. But
• 1:10:12
Speaker 3: Terrence Green, number 99, the interior for Alabama, long, strong,
• 1:10:16
Speaker 3: and physical at the point of contact like him and, uh,
• 1:10:19
Speaker 3: Pierre and Tompkins on the edge. I think that line
• 1:10:23
Speaker 3: of scrimmage and their linebackers fly around pretty good. I
• 1:10:26
Speaker 3: think they're going to have, um, they're going to be
• 1:10:28
Speaker 3: allowed to play with a lighter box because of cats
• 1:10:30
Speaker 3: like that. Like again, Terrence green, he's got some juice
• 1:10:33
Speaker 3: to him. He just needs a little bit more conditioning
• 1:10:35
Speaker 3: so he can stay on the field longer. Um, I
• 1:10:38
Speaker 3: like Bama a lot here. You went Man, nine and
• 1:10:41
  Speaker 3: a half.
• 1:10:42
Speaker 1: Nine and a half.
• 1:10:43
Speaker 3: I think this could be a double digit. I think
• 1:10:45
Speaker 3: Bama's ready to go.
• 1:10:46
Speaker 1: This is a splattering tweet. Plus 132, nine and a half.
• 1:10:51
  Speaker 1: Plus 132, nine and a half. I like Bama a
• 1:10:53
Speaker 1: lot here. And they started fast last week. They did.
• 1:10:56
  Speaker 2: They did.
• 1:10:57
Speaker 3: And they're going into Mississippi State. Those cowbells will be
• 1:11:00
Speaker 3: going again. They are fired up. They should be.
• 1:11:05
Speaker 2: I'm going down there. I'm going to be there.
• 1:11:07
  Speaker 1: I saw that.
• 1:11:08
  Speaker 3: You've got a double-decker weekend coming up.
• 1:11:10
Speaker 2: Rain poncho not purchased yet i don't own rain gear
• 1:11:13
Speaker 2: i found out yeah you i see what you own
• 1:11:16
Speaker 2: yeah like you i have what i own with me
• 1:11:18
Speaker 2: right now exactly minimalist i don't even own the car
• 1:11:21
Speaker 2: i drove here in no you don't we had a
• 1:11:22
Speaker 2: full conversation about that.
• 1:11:24
Speaker 3: Quick potty break to shout out jack daniels whether i'm
• 1:11:27
Speaker 3: at a tailgate or on the couch watching either michigan
• 1:11:29
Speaker 3: or nebraska on saturday jack daniels is a staple on
• 1:11:32
Speaker 3: my game day roster expand your playbook with the cinnamon
• 1:11:36
Speaker 3: kick of Jack Fire, the smooth taste of Jack Honey,
• 1:11:39
Speaker 3: the crisp and refreshing Jack Apple, and the only blackberry
• 1:11:43
Speaker 3: bursting with Jack. Personally, I'm a Jack Fire, Honey, Apple, Blackberry,
• 1:11:47
Speaker 3: I love them all type of guy on game day.
• 1:11:50
Speaker 3: No matter how you stack your unit, there's a Jack.
• 1:11:52
Speaker 1: For every football fan. Let's get back to this episode.
• 1:11:56
Speaker 2: So you watched Bama's tight ends this year. Yes, bro.
• 1:12:02
Speaker 2: So that's a yes. You have Washington.
• 1:12:04
Speaker 1: Ford, Edwards, and Pritchett?
• 1:12:07
Speaker 2: Yeah, man. Go off. I'm stunned by it. Like that's
• 1:12:11
Speaker 2: the biggest surprise. I mean, we watch a lot of
• 1:12:14
Speaker 2: about 15 teams, Bama being one of them. So it's
• 1:12:16
Speaker 2: really weird five weeks into a season to be just
• 1:12:19
Speaker 2: shocked by a position group. Bama tight end room was
• 1:12:23
Speaker 2: a weakness, like a huge vulnerability for that team last year.
• 1:12:26
Speaker 2: And it's like, if I were to talk about all
• 1:12:29
Speaker 2: the position groups in the SEC, Florida offensive line has
• 1:12:33
Speaker 2: vastly overachieved. Alabama tight end room is like 10 shelves
• 1:12:38
Speaker 2: above where I thought they would be. So that's huge
• 1:12:41
Speaker 2: in a game like this. Because if weather's a factor,
• 1:12:43
Speaker 2: and I highly expect it to be a factor, and
• 1:12:46
Speaker 2: I think Bama may have both line of scrimmage edges,
• 1:12:51
Speaker 2: but I also give myself that tight end room and
• 1:12:53
Speaker 2: I give myself Keelan Russell's ability to improvise maybe on
• 1:12:57
Speaker 2: broken plays, that could be a difference for me. The
• 1:13:00
Speaker 2: one counter to that is all of that could be
• 1:13:03
Speaker 2: true and also be negated by Mississippi State's third down
• 1:13:07
Speaker 2: stat column. Cause if they throw up like a nine
• 1:13:10
Speaker 2: for 14 on third down, they're going to win the game.
• 1:13:13
Speaker 2: And Alabama is going to have had all these edges
• 1:13:15
Speaker 2: and it won't matter just because they got a quarterback
• 1:13:17
Speaker 2: that can create magic on third down, fourth down. So
• 1:13:20
Speaker 2: red zone kind of correlates with that outside of that. Uh,
• 1:13:25
Speaker 2: I do feel like that Alabama tight end room probably
• 1:13:27
Speaker 2: as important in this game as any game they've played
• 1:13:29
Speaker 2: so far, then they'll play Georgia where it'll be a
• 1:13:32
Speaker 2: more important, even than against Mississippi state. Um, Kind of
• 1:13:35
Speaker 2: a weather the storm kind of game because I trust
• 1:13:38
Speaker 2: Jeff Lebby, especially in spots like this. So I don't
• 1:13:42
Speaker 2: have the confidence you have. So I'm going like two
• 1:13:44
Speaker 2: units on Bama minus five and a half. And I
• 1:13:47
Speaker 2: think it's a four quarter game. It's one of those
• 1:13:50
Speaker 2: where they kind of cover late.
• 1:13:52
Speaker 3: And you talk about Lebby too. Some of the creativity
• 1:13:54
Speaker 3: he does have. Did you see the play where it's like,
• 1:13:57
Speaker 3: Camaro Taylor, they ran a pop pass, like when they
• 1:13:59
Speaker 3: were inside the 10. Or it kind of, it looks
• 1:14:01
Speaker 3: like a quarterback draw, running back takes off, Camaro Taylor
• 1:14:05
Speaker 3: patiently waits, like he's going to run behind him, then.
• 1:14:07
Speaker 1: Jumps up and goes to him. To the running back.
• 1:14:08
Speaker 1: Oh my God, man. They do have a lot of
• 1:14:11
Speaker 1: good shit. I played one year of Pop Warner football,
• 1:14:14
Speaker 1: and we basically ran that exact play. It was called
• 1:14:16
Speaker 1: fake handoff running back fly. You fake it to him,
• 1:14:18
Speaker 1: he runs it, you just kind of toss it over there.
• 1:14:20
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 1:14:21
Speaker 1: Because there's a lot of creativity. Dude, something about these points.
• 1:14:25
Speaker 1: Keelan Russell has done an incredible job as a first-year starter.
• 1:14:30
Speaker 1: I think Brooks has been an extremely reliable receiver. Ryan Coleman-Williams,
• 1:14:34
Speaker 1: like he showed last week, like maybe the gifts are
• 1:14:36
Speaker 1: actually gone. He went for, what, 200? It felt like 200.
• 1:14:38
Speaker 2: He's been fine once he put the gloves on. Right.
• 1:14:40
Speaker 1: He's been incredible. He's already brought up the tight end room.
• 1:14:43
Speaker 1: And they've run the ball. Like, I probably lean more
• 1:14:46
Speaker 1: towards Alabama in this game. the only thing that gives
• 1:14:50
Speaker 1: me pause is Kamario Taylor. And I was like kind
• 1:14:53
Speaker 1: of hating before the Minnesota game, massive misread on me.
• 1:14:56
Speaker 1: And so I have officially been like, I can't join
• 1:14:58
Speaker 1: this now. I'm going to kind of sit off in
• 1:15:00
Speaker 1: the distance and watch what is Kamario Taylor, Evans McGee,
• 1:15:03
Speaker 1: the deep threat that they have, his confidence to throw
• 1:15:05
Speaker 1: the ball. Like he seems like when things don't go well,
• 1:15:08
Speaker 1: or he does throw a pick against Missouri, it's like,
• 1:15:10
Speaker 1: it's a nothing burger to him. He's just, he loves
• 1:15:13
Speaker 1: the school he plays for. It seems like a very
• 1:15:15
Speaker 1: rare football player in the world of NIL. Like, This
• 1:15:19
Speaker 1: Alabama defense, from a pass rush standpoint, hasn't been what
• 1:15:22
Speaker 1: we thought they were going to be early in the season,
• 1:15:24
Speaker 1: just statistically. But Mississippi State, their massive flaw is their
• 1:15:28
Speaker 1: offensive line. It is really bad. But Jeff Levy and
• 1:15:32
Speaker 1: the tempo that they run at, your offensive line isn't
• 1:15:35
Speaker 1: going to have success early in the game. It's going
• 1:15:36
Speaker 1: to be later because of the number of plays that
• 1:15:38
Speaker 1: they're going to force feed you throughout the game. That
• 1:15:40
Speaker 1: is what is the equalizer for them, is getting that
• 1:15:42
Speaker 1: defensive line to slow down and kind of be a
• 1:15:44
Speaker 1: little more heavy breathing while the offensive line that's when
• 1:15:47
Speaker 1: they start to kind of feel themselves a little bit.
• 1:15:49
Speaker 1: Because the offensive line is kind of just like, I
• 1:15:51
Speaker 1: don't want to say it disrespectfully, but a bunch of
• 1:15:53
Speaker 1: pylons where it's like, get in the way, let our
• 1:15:55
Speaker 1: running back kind of make some moves, let Kamario Taylor
• 1:15:57
Speaker 1: do what he does, and then we have deep shots
• 1:15:59
Speaker 1: across the field. Like Kamario Taylor, when he's throwing these verts,
• 1:16:02
Speaker 1: like he just trusts the speed of his receivers where
• 1:16:05
Speaker 1: the DBs are still sitting on top, like their hips,
• 1:16:08
Speaker 1: like they're still in front of the DB, and he's like,
• 1:16:10
Speaker 1: I know exactly where to put this ball. And they
• 1:16:12
Speaker 1: have the ability to go out and get it. I
• 1:16:15
Speaker 1: love the points in this game. I know it's a lot,
• 1:16:17
Speaker 1: but there's still a world where Keelan Russell, I mean,
• 1:16:20
Speaker 1: he's proven to me this whole entire season he can
• 1:16:23
Speaker 1: put the ball down the field. Kamaru Taylor has been,
• 1:16:26
Speaker 1: you know, probably the most special football player we've seen
• 1:16:29
Speaker 1: and never really heard of at this point in the season.
• 1:16:32
Speaker 1: So I'm going to take the points. I'm going to
• 1:16:34
Speaker 1: take over 60 and a half. I'm going to put
• 1:16:35
Speaker 1: three on this. If I had to pick a team,
• 1:16:38
Speaker 1: I'd probably choose Alabama. But that in my brain is like,
• 1:16:41
Speaker 1: that's where Mississippi State comes and gets the upset.
• 1:16:44
Speaker 2: The one thing about this weird, I've talked about Alabama's
• 1:16:47
Speaker 2: tight end room being a surprise. It's as big, if
• 1:16:50
Speaker 2: not bigger surprise to me that they're 116th in the
• 1:16:55
Speaker 2: country in explosive pass plays allowed right now. And you
• 1:16:58
Speaker 2: thought secondary was the strength of this team.
• 1:17:00
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 1:17:00
Speaker 2: So I think Mississippi State's got one of the fastest
• 1:17:03
Speaker 2: wide receiver rooms in the SEC. So especially, I don't
• 1:17:08
Speaker 2: know that rain affects this, but just I think about
• 1:17:11
Speaker 2: a standard game, dry field, dry conditions. they've watched that film.
• 1:17:16
Speaker 2: They've seen teams target Dijon Lee. If they go down,
• 1:17:20
Speaker 2: if Mississippi State goes down, they're going to go down swinging.
• 1:17:24
Speaker 2: In offensive terms, that means deep shot after deep shot
• 1:17:27
Speaker 2: after deep shot. I think that heavily maybe yields towards
• 1:17:33
Speaker 2: variance over. It's really weird. I don't feel good about
• 1:17:38
Speaker 2: the total either way, but if you told me, this
• 1:17:41
Speaker 2: thing goes 10 points separate from the total either way,
• 1:17:44
Speaker 2: I think it would easily be an over.
• 1:17:46
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:17:47
Speaker 3: And also you look at too, like if you want
• 1:17:49
Speaker 3: some fodder on the Mississippi state side, it's like Bama
• 1:17:52
Speaker 3: last week, defensively, they were giving up over five yards
• 1:17:55
Speaker 3: of carry against South Carolina. And the good news is
• 1:17:57
Speaker 3: you have Kamara Taylor quarterback, not, you know, not taking a, Well,
• 1:18:01
Speaker 3: he's not even here, but you don't have Lenore Sellers.
• 1:18:04
Speaker 2: I'm always here. Oh, there he is. Damn, there he is.
• 1:18:06
Speaker 3: I was going to say, I felt much better saying
• 1:18:09
Speaker 3: Lenore Sellers was the quarterback, not Kamario Taylor.
• 1:18:11
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 1:18:12
Speaker 1: This is a fireworks game. How bad is the rain?
• 1:18:15
Speaker 1: What is the scattered showers?
• 1:18:17
  Speaker 2: I don't love the 40% rain.
• 1:18:17
  Speaker 1: Scattered?
• 1:18:20
Speaker 2: Likely. Likely. Yeah. Just trust me on this one.
• 1:18:23
Speaker 1: Likely. Likely. We'll take likely. Tornado, man. Yeah, I'm very aware.
• 1:18:28
Speaker 3: You know he's probably dialed on this one.
• 1:18:29
Speaker 1: Because he's going. So you're Blacksburg Friday night. Yep. Going
• 1:18:33
Speaker 1: to watch that Saturday. You're going to fly to Mississippi State.
• 1:18:36
Speaker 2: Friday night. But yes.
• 1:18:37
  Speaker 1: Friday night.
• 1:18:38
Speaker 2: Greyhound bus. Come on.
• 1:18:41
  Speaker 1: Gritty.
• 1:18:42
  Speaker 2: Gritty.
• 1:18:44
Speaker 1: Hell of a show, boys.
• 1:18:44
  Speaker 2: The plane's nickname.
• 1:18:46
Speaker 1: We got more. It's the plane's nickname. Oh, that's right.
• 1:18:49
Speaker 2: But it has been. I forgot. My fault.
• 1:18:52
  Speaker 1: My fault.
• 1:18:53
Speaker 2: Oh, there is more.
• 1:18:54
Speaker 1: Let's go Dog of the Week real quick.
• 1:18:56
  Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
• 1:18:56
Speaker 1: Dog of the Week. Josh Payton, what do you have
• 1:18:58
Speaker 1: for Dog of the Week?
• 1:18:59
Speaker 2: I'm glad you asked. It's a great question. Cincinnati plus
• 1:19:04
Speaker 2: seven and a half.
• 1:19:05
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:19:05
Speaker 2: It was my favorite bet last week. I didn't even
• 1:19:07
Speaker 2: need the points. They won outright. So I'm going to
• 1:19:10
Speaker 2: take Cincinnati plus seven and a half. Believe they are
• 1:19:12
Speaker 2: headed to the state of Arizona.
• 1:19:14
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:19:14
Speaker 2: What's the, is it the silver state? What's the, what's
• 1:19:17
Speaker 2: Arizona's nickname? No, that's Nevada, right? What is Arizona's state nickname?
• 1:19:22
Speaker 2: Grand Canyon state. Is that, is that real? Nope. That's Florida.
• 1:19:26
Speaker 1: I thought you were trying to get me on the
• 1:19:28
  Speaker 1: dick joke.
• 1:19:28
Speaker 2: So I was very hesitant to answer. It is the
• 1:19:30
Speaker 2: Grand Canyon state. I need to check what the silver
• 1:19:34
Speaker 2: state is after we leave. It's probably Nevada. So you
• 1:19:36
Speaker 2: were more interested in that answer than this game. Well,
• 1:19:39
Speaker 2: last time I flew over the state of Arizona, I
• 1:19:40
Speaker 2: was reliably informed, bro, no one likes Arizona. So I
• 1:19:44
Speaker 2: haven't been out there since then.
• 1:19:45
Speaker 1: So crazy and disrespectful because Arizona is that place.
• 1:19:49
Speaker 2: Bro, no one likes Arizona. He had said a word
• 1:19:55
Speaker 2: in 20 minutes staring out the window. Bro, no one
• 1:19:57
  Speaker 2: likes Arizona.
• 1:20:00
Speaker 1: Clump found out that it snows in Arizona that trip.
• 1:20:04
Speaker 1: That was kind of nuts.
• 1:20:05
Speaker 3: Give me Vanderbilt plus 24 and a half against the
• 1:20:08
  Speaker 3: buzzsaw Georgia Bulldogs.
• 1:20:10
Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't wait to get to my parlay.
• 1:20:12
Speaker 3: A little trap game, a little cheese trap game for Georgia.
• 1:20:15
Speaker 3: They got Bama next week. Just had a massive dominating
• 1:20:19
Speaker 3: win over Oklahoma. I'm just going to go Vandy plus
• 1:20:22
Speaker 3: 24 and a half. Let down look ahead for Georgia.
• 1:20:24
Speaker 3: Let down look ahead.
• 1:20:25
Speaker 1: Does Kirby Smart have let down look aheads?
• 1:20:29
Speaker 2: He has a let down look ahead in a sense
• 1:20:30
Speaker 2: that they'll just pack it in. I mean, if John
• 1:20:33
Speaker 2: Mateer is not on the field to help Georgia– and
• 1:20:36
Speaker 2: Jared Curtis just plays a normal game, Vandy can cover
• 1:20:39
Speaker 2: that number. Vandy covered against Auburn last week. Vandy's going
• 1:20:42
Speaker 2: to have a bunch of losses where they cover this year. Right. Yeah,
• 1:20:45
  Speaker 2: it's a really good team.
• 1:20:46
Speaker 3: And I don't need Kirby Smart to do the– maybe
• 1:20:48
Speaker 3: he does, but these 18- to 22-year-old kids.
• 1:20:50
  Speaker 2: 30-10.
• 1:20:52
Speaker 1: This is prime Georgia doing defensive line drills in the
• 1:20:56
Speaker 1: fourth quarter. That's what this game is to me. Cade's
• 1:21:00
Speaker 1: going to be locking them up. I'm going to take
• 1:21:03
Speaker 1: Michigan State, the nasty boys in green and white, disgusting school,
• 1:21:07
Speaker 1: disgusting place to live. I'll take them plus nine and
• 1:21:09
Speaker 1: a half versus Wisconsin. Wisconsin, big win versus Penn State.
• 1:21:13
  Speaker 2: Let down.
• 1:21:14
  Speaker 1: Let down spot.
• 1:21:14
  Speaker 2: Yep.
• 1:21:15
Speaker 1: People are going to be patting them in the ass. Oh,
• 1:21:17
Speaker 1: Madison's great. Jump around.
• 1:21:18
Speaker 2: It's all awesome. You got to go on the road. Yeah.
• 1:21:22
Speaker 1: Michigan State. I hate even saying it out loud, but
• 1:21:25
Speaker 1: I'll take them plus nine and a half. I hope
• 1:21:27
Speaker 1: they don't win, but I hope they do cover.
• 1:21:29
Speaker 2: Is that game at Wisconsin? I don't know.
• 1:21:33
Speaker 1: Cody, is it at Wisconsin?
• 1:21:34
Speaker 2: It is. All right, so never mind. They don't have
• 1:21:35
Speaker 2: to go on the road. I actually love that. That
• 1:21:37
Speaker 2: was one of my early best bets of the week.
• 1:21:39
Speaker 2: I got it at 10.5, which is irrelevant because it's
• 1:21:41
Speaker 2: not available right now. Still, I love it. Is that
• 1:21:42
Speaker 2: Ramen Noodle Express? Yep. I already put it on there. Wow.
• 1:21:45
Speaker 3: I might be tailing the Ramen Noodle Express this weekend.
• 1:21:48
Speaker 2: What is the record of the Ramen Noodle Express so
• 1:21:50
Speaker 2: far this year? We are right at 60%. Is it.
• 1:21:54
Speaker 1: The last two weeks you've been 8-2?
• 1:21:56
Speaker 2: No, two weeks ago we were 8-2. Last week I
• 1:21:59
Speaker 2: was one game below 500, although I deserve better. But
• 1:22:02
Speaker 2: still 60% on the year. Right, like almost on the nose, 60%
• 1:22:05
Speaker 2: on the year. I'll be in there. I'll be in
• 1:22:08
Speaker 2: there pumping. How about these parlays?
• 1:22:10
Speaker 4: You said you're 60% ramen noodle?
• 1:22:12
  Speaker 1: You're also 60% lobster.
• 1:22:14
  Speaker 2: Correlation.
• 1:22:16
  Speaker 3: Correlation.
• 1:22:17
Speaker 1: Josh, you know, he's cooking. He's cooking.
• 1:22:21
Speaker 2: Get into these parlays.
• 1:22:23
Speaker 1: All right, what do you got, Willie?
• 1:22:26
Speaker 2: Alabama money line. Here we go.
• 1:22:28
Speaker 3: Nebraska money line. West Virginia money line at Iowa State.
• 1:22:37
Speaker 3: We're going to need those three teams to win the
• 1:22:38
  Speaker 3: football games.
• 1:22:39
Speaker 2: Oh, it's about to get sick here.
• 1:22:41
Speaker 3: Northwestern, the receiving yards, over 217.5.
• 1:22:45
Speaker 2: Aiden Childs. I like him.
• 1:22:50
Speaker 3: I like him against Penn State this weekend.
• 1:22:52
Speaker 2: Friday night. Friday night game. New stadium. New stadium.
• 1:22:57
Speaker 3: He hadn't thrown for less than 240 in each game.
• 1:22:59
Speaker 3: I know Penn State, they got a respectable passing defense,
• 1:23:02
Speaker 3: but doesn't show up against Aiden Giles.
• 1:23:04
  Speaker 2: I don't think so.
• 1:23:05
Speaker 1: Guess he's so sick to his stomach right now, dude.
• 1:23:07
Speaker 2: He's trying to look up the Pokemon.
• 1:23:11
Speaker 3: And then finally, the fifth leg, Ohio State rushing yards
• 1:23:14
Speaker 3: over 104.5. That totals out to plus 1219. As a
• 1:23:20
Speaker 3: five-leg parlay from Dr.
• 1:23:22
  Speaker 2: Willie C.
• 1:23:23
Speaker 1: That's not my parlay, but I will be telling that.
• 1:23:25
Speaker 2: Will that be in your community?
• 1:23:26
Speaker 1: That'll be in my community. Go follow the Fandle community.
• 1:23:29
  Speaker 1: Follow Taylor LeJuan.
• 1:23:31
Speaker 2: Who does Nebraska play? Maryland.
• 1:23:33
  Speaker 1: Maryland.
• 1:23:34
  Speaker 2: Maryland.
• 1:23:36
Speaker 1: You guys got to dominate that game.
• 1:23:37
Speaker 2: Yeah. You got to dominate that game. Coach ruled a
• 1:23:40
Speaker 2: lot of respect for Mike Loxley. Could have rolled over
• 1:23:43
  Speaker 2: and died.
• 1:23:43
Speaker 1: Could have rolled over and died.
• 1:23:44
Speaker 2: A ton of respect for a guy who gets blown
• 1:23:46
Speaker 2: out by half a hundred and a half. A ton
• 1:23:47
Speaker 2: of respect. I messaged him.
• 1:23:48
Speaker 3: I said, Masterclass. Masterclass has given Loxley some flowers. They
• 1:23:53
Speaker 3: could have packed it in last week.
• 1:23:55
Speaker 1: Could have packed it in.
• 1:23:57
  Speaker 2: Calabria.
• 1:23:59
Speaker 1: Is Rule going to play?
• 1:23:59
  Speaker 2: Does it matter?
• 1:24:02
Speaker 1: I don't look at that. No. But also, does it matter?
• 1:24:06
Speaker 1: It's more about just his health overall.
• 1:24:08
  Speaker 2: Hold on.
• 1:24:08
Speaker 1: I'm talking about Josh. Is this a letdown spot for Nebraska?
• 1:24:11
Speaker 2: No. Uh... Again, it doesn't matter. This is probably a
• 1:24:15
Speaker 2: head coach who could be Matt Rule's offensive coordinator next
• 1:24:17
Speaker 2: year because he's going to be available. Nasty.
• 1:24:21
Speaker 1: It's a nasty comment. But I have no plans in
• 1:24:24
Speaker 1: the future to go to Maryland, so say what you
• 1:24:26
Speaker 1: want because I'm kind of with you.
• 1:24:27
  Speaker 2: Great state.
• 1:24:28
  Speaker 1: Yeah, it's cool.
• 1:24:29
Speaker 2: They have a cool flag. Yeah, good food.
• 1:24:31
  Speaker 1: Crab cakes.
• 1:24:31
Speaker 2: I love crab cakes.
• 1:24:33
Speaker 1: You want to hit your parlay? You want me to
• 1:24:34
  Speaker 1: hit my parlay?
• 1:24:35
Speaker 2: I'll hit mine. West Virginia money line.
• 1:24:37
  Speaker 1: Okay.
• 1:24:38
  Speaker 2: Auburn money line.
• 1:24:39
  Speaker 1: All right.
• 1:24:40
Speaker 2: Kentucky money line. Oh! Returns plus 15.55. Wow. Who's Auburn
• 1:24:46
Speaker 2: got this week? Auburn's got Tennessee and Knoxville. Alex Golish
• 1:24:49
Speaker 2: returning home. To a place that hasn't been the same
• 1:24:52
Speaker 2: offensively since he left, some say.
• 1:24:56
  Speaker 1: Damn, that's a good parlay.
• 1:24:59
Speaker 2: Alex Golish's home is Russia, by the way.
• 1:25:03
  Speaker 1: My parlay.
• 1:25:04
  Speaker 2: Georgia, minus 24.5.
• 1:25:05
Speaker 1: Florida, money line. Boise State, alternate spread, minus nine and
• 1:25:13
Speaker 1: a half. Texas Tech, alternate spread, minus six and a half.
• 1:25:16
Speaker 1: Arizona State Moneyline. That will return you a conservative plus 644.
• 1:25:21
Speaker 1: That one feels nice.
• 1:25:23
  Speaker 2: It's a good parlay. It's a good parlay.
• 1:25:25
Speaker 1: I have a few others, but you can find them
• 1:25:27
Speaker 1: in my community. Tara Luan, Fandel, you can go look
• 1:25:29
Speaker 1: at them. I will be putting those out because there's
• 1:25:32
Speaker 1: a couple that are like, the boys are nice. The
• 1:25:36
Speaker 1: boys are nice out there, you know?
• 1:25:38
  Speaker 2: Anything else?
• 1:25:39
Speaker 1: Any fleeting thoughts? Did you watch Michigan, Iowa? Yeah, I did.
• 1:25:42
Speaker 1: Can I just bend your ear for a second?
• 1:25:44
Speaker 2: Yeah, I had Michigan minus five and a half, felt
• 1:25:46
Speaker 2: good about it. And I felt robbed. Yeah, okay. Like
• 1:25:50
  Speaker 2: I felt cheated.
• 1:25:51
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:25:51
Speaker 2: But then did you ever, you wouldn't feel this way
• 1:25:53
Speaker 2: about Michigan, but pretend it wasn't Michigan, pretend it was
• 1:25:55
Speaker 2: like USC or someone like that. Do you ever have
• 1:25:58
Speaker 2: the thing where if you bet a team and you
• 1:26:01
Speaker 2: lay points with a home favorite, you feel like you're
• 1:26:04
Speaker 2: endorsing them. Like you're attaching your name to theirs. You're
• 1:26:07
Speaker 2: trusting them. You trust Michigan. And you get to a
• 1:26:10
Speaker 2: point where you think they're about to cover and you're like, yes.
• 1:26:14
Speaker 2: And then for whatever reason, they play the way they
• 1:26:17
Speaker 2: do in the fourth quarter. And at some point you're
• 1:26:19
Speaker 2: running the numbers. Like they're up five at one point
• 1:26:22
Speaker 2: and I got five and a half. So I realized
• 1:26:23
  Speaker 2: it's 24 to 19. At best, they're going to sit
• 1:26:25
Speaker 2: on the ball here. And then you start to feel
• 1:26:27
Speaker 2: a little scorn in your heart. And once you realize
• 1:26:30
Speaker 2: you've done the math, I'm not going to be able
• 1:26:32
Speaker 2: to win and cover.
• 1:26:33
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:26:34
Speaker 2: And it's because of them, I kind of hope they
• 1:26:37
  Speaker 2: lose outright.
• 1:26:38
  Speaker 1: Oh.
• 1:26:38
Speaker 2: Do you ever have that happen? Not Michigan, but any
• 1:26:41
Speaker 2: other game where you lay the points with a favorite? Yeah.
• 1:26:43
Speaker 1: I had the same thing with Tennessee and Texas.
• 1:26:45
Speaker 2: So I started to feel that way. Okay. So I'd
• 1:26:48
  Speaker 2: be lying if I told you I didn't give a
• 1:26:51
Speaker 2: little fist bump. A little, good for you, Kurt Ferentz.
• 1:26:53
Speaker 2: You needed this. If I can't win, why should Michigan win?
• 1:26:57
Speaker 2: That's kind of where my heart was.
• 1:26:58
Speaker 1: I'm going to choose to not take that personal.
• 1:27:00
  Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
• 1:27:01
Speaker 1: What does your little computer say about Michigan and Minnesota?
• 1:27:03
  Speaker 2: Well, it's not a little computer. It's 60% against the
• 1:27:04
  Speaker 2: spread this year.
• 1:27:05
Speaker 1: Do we not have a lot of technology in 2026?
• 1:27:08
Speaker 1: This is the same attitude.
• 1:27:10
Speaker 2: That bumps Austin Simmons out of the top seven in
• 1:27:12
Speaker 2: the SEC right now.
• 1:27:14
Speaker 1: We've got to be respectful. There's an argument for it.
• 1:27:16
  Speaker 1: Cody Graves.
• 1:27:16
Speaker 2: There is an argument. So what did you ask me?
• 1:27:18
Speaker 2: What was your question?
• 1:27:19
Speaker 1: What does your little itty-bitty computer say about Minnesota and Michigan?
• 1:27:26
Speaker 2: It leans Michigan, but who cares? It leaned Michigan last week.
• 1:27:30
Speaker 2: Are you willing to bleed for your team? P.J. Fleck's
• 1:27:32
Speaker 2: willing to bleed for his.
• 1:27:34
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:27:35
Speaker 2: You're selling stock on P.J. Fleck right now.
• 1:27:37
Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll kill myself for Michigan, dude. Yeah. That's a
• 1:27:40
Speaker 1: little bit of a gimmick. Like, if you are in
• 1:27:43
Speaker 1: the Twin Cities and, like, you see that and you
• 1:27:46
Speaker 1: have a Gopher banner, a Minnesota banner, I'm sure you
• 1:27:49
Speaker 1: get excited about P.J. Fleck wearing his player's blood on
• 1:27:52
Speaker 1: his face. But to the outside world, that's weird.
• 1:27:55
Speaker 2: When I was in school.
• 1:27:57
Speaker 1: Can I be honest with you? The tie's a little
• 1:27:58
Speaker 1: fucked up. I don't like seeing the tie and the
• 1:28:00
  Speaker 1: quarter zip.
• 1:28:01
Speaker 2: I don't think we need to call fashion into it.
• 1:28:03
Speaker 1: That's fair. I got to think about quarter zips, though.
• 1:28:05
Speaker 2: Far be it from me.
• 1:28:06
  Speaker 1: Yeah, I got a deal.
• 1:28:07
Speaker 2: When I was in school and pro wrestling was really big,
• 1:28:09
Speaker 2: we would always get sent to the office for doing
• 1:28:11
Speaker 2: the crotch chop and telling people to suck it in
• 1:28:13
Speaker 2: class because we saw it on TV. Do you think
• 1:28:15
Speaker 2: there were kids in the Minneapolis public school system that
• 1:28:18
Speaker 2: got sent to the office for smearing their blood on
• 1:28:20
Speaker 2: each other this week because they saw it on TV?
• 1:28:23
  Speaker 1: I think.
• 1:28:24
  Speaker 2: I hope so.
• 1:28:25
Speaker 1: Where are we as a society if that's not happening?
• 1:28:27
Speaker 1: Does P.J. Fleck have that much of influence on the
• 1:28:29
  Speaker 1: state of Minnesota?
• 1:28:30
Speaker 2: Wow. So like you're saying Stone Cold, Triple H, circa
• 1:28:34
  Speaker 2: late 90s, P.J. 's not there.
• 1:28:36
Speaker 1: You are saying names that I know, but I don't follow.
• 1:28:40
Speaker 1: wrestling so i'll say is that a yes you're.
• 1:28:43
Speaker 3: Saying p you're saying fleck bank he ain't in that
• 1:28:46
  Speaker 3: yeah he doesn't.
• 1:28:47
Speaker 1: Have that kind of i've sold the stock yeah you're
• 1:28:49
Speaker 1: out on him like honestly if he wasn't like i
• 1:28:51
Speaker 1: do like how well coached his teams are i said
• 1:28:55
Speaker 1: that before they played mississippi state They seem to have
• 1:28:58
Speaker 1: handled themselves well. Yeah. But no.
• 1:29:03
Speaker 2: Which begs the question.
• 1:29:04
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:29:04
Speaker 2: If your new head coach loses to a head coach
• 1:29:08
Speaker 2: that you've already sold stock on, what are you forced
• 1:29:11
Speaker 2: to do with your Kyle Whittingham stock?
• 1:29:13
Speaker 1: Oh, go down with the ship. Die. Yeah, I'm the
• 1:29:16
Speaker 1: captain of the Titanic and I'm watching the wave come
• 1:29:17
Speaker 1: in and I sit there and the violins are playing.
• 1:29:20
Speaker 1: And that's what happens. Yeah, the windows are creaking. But
• 1:29:22
Speaker 1: do you sell your stock next week?
• 1:29:23
Speaker 2: No, I'm on the ship that's going down. He's just
• 1:29:25
  Speaker 2: going to die.
• 1:29:26
Speaker 1: I can't sell the stock. Stock goes down to one.
• 1:29:28
  Speaker 1: I bought it at a hundred. It's a 99% loss.
• 1:29:31
Speaker 1: I'm just going to lose that next 1%.
• 1:29:33
Speaker 2: The lifeboat's right there. And you're looking around and saying,
• 1:29:36
Speaker 2: we're prepared to go down. We're prepared to go down
• 1:29:38
  Speaker 2: in our finest.
• 1:29:39
Speaker 1: It's all taxes, dude. Take it as a loss, dude.
• 1:29:43
Speaker 1: It's all taxes. At that point, you're kind of hoping
• 1:29:45
Speaker 1: for more. Like if we lose to Minnesota, it's like,
• 1:29:48
Speaker 1: let's just enjoy the pain. Let's make sure we feel
• 1:29:51
  Speaker 1: real again.
• 1:29:51
  Speaker 2: Let's bleed.
• 1:29:52
Speaker 1: You know, let's bleed a little bit. Wipe it on
• 1:29:54
Speaker 1: our face. Braveheart style.
• 1:29:56
Speaker 2: And some people are like, we're undefeated. I can't relate.
• 1:29:59
  Speaker 1: No, can't relate. Nebraska's undefeated.
• 1:30:02
Speaker 2: Boy, there's a day coming for Nebraska. Not this week,
• 1:30:05
Speaker 2: because you're focused on Maryland. But there is a day coming.
• 1:30:09
Speaker 2: There is a day coming. In the not-too-distant future.
• 1:30:12
  Speaker 1: White hot spotlight.
• 1:30:13
Speaker 2: It's going to be on Lincoln. Yeah.
• 1:30:16
Speaker 3: Can you always got to get, you got it. That's
• 1:30:18
Speaker 3: the tough part too, is separating going one week at
• 1:30:20
  Speaker 3: a time. I didn't realize what I did.
• 1:30:22
Speaker 1: You know, what's funny is this man to my left is,
• 1:30:27
Speaker 1: we'll talk about chef as a Tennessee fan and be like,
• 1:30:29
Speaker 1: you might get into a podcast with him if you
• 1:30:31
Speaker 1: bring up the balls a little bit, but it's the same.
• 1:30:34
  Speaker 1: With Nebraska.
• 1:30:35
Speaker 2: You ever seen V for Vendetta?
• 1:30:35
Speaker 1: What are you talking about? And he does like, Will's
• 1:30:38
Speaker 1: done an amazing job this year of like harnessing that.
• 1:30:42
Speaker 1: And we're about to let it out of the gate.
• 1:30:43
Speaker 1: Like next week you handle Maryland. You let them out.
• 1:30:47
Speaker 1: You let them strut around a little bit.
• 1:30:49
Speaker 2: It's that scene in V for Vendetta. The dominoes are built.
• 1:30:52
Speaker 2: There are millions of them and you just walk up
• 1:30:54
Speaker 2: to them and go. Yeah. And they form an N
• 1:30:57
  Speaker 2: instead of a V.
• 1:30:59
  Speaker 1: That's right.
• 1:30:59
Speaker 2: We're close. Bob's going off, dude.
• 1:31:03
Speaker 1: I'll tell you this, dude. If we don't fix the
• 1:31:05
Speaker 1: penalties this week, fuck, I'm going to lose my mind.
• 1:31:08
Speaker 1: Third and 11 and you get a stop and then
• 1:31:10
Speaker 1: Zeke Berry pushes the guy. I'm in the camp of
• 1:31:12
Speaker 1: you don't even put that kid in the position because
• 1:31:13
Speaker 1: you should have won the game outright by multiple scores
• 1:31:15
Speaker 1: at this point. But the fact that he does some
• 1:31:17
Speaker 1: dumb shit like that, I'm like, dude, what are we
• 1:31:19
Speaker 1: fucking doing? Makes me sick. Makes me sick. Offense looked
• 1:31:24
Speaker 1: good though. Yeah. Bryce Underwood looked good.
• 1:31:26
Speaker 2: The numbers indicate you should have won going away.
• 1:31:28
  Speaker 1: Yeah, well.
• 1:31:29
  Speaker 2: And then Iowa.
• 1:31:29
Speaker 1: We're one play away. From being undefeated, we're one play
• 1:31:34
Speaker 1: away and one second away from being 2-2.
• 1:31:36
Speaker 2: Such is life. Yeah.
• 1:31:38
Speaker 1: It's a game of inches, dude. It's a game of inches.
• 1:31:41
Speaker 3: We'll be talking more about all this on Friday. Busting
• 1:31:43
Speaker 3: the paint on campus. Blacksburg, Virginia this Friday. Lincoln, Nebraska
