- 0:01Speaker 1: Off the bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Hands to Hester, and Hester, yep, got it, five out
- 0:08Speaker 2: of five.
- 0:08Speaker 1: From carrying each other to a natty to carrying each
- 0:12Speaker 1: other on the air. Flynn is back to throw for
- 0:14Speaker 1: the end zone ball. Live from the Raising Cane Studio,
- 0:20Speaker 1: it's Off the Bench.
- 0:21Speaker 3: I can't stand it.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Welcome back in OTB, hour number three here on this
- 0:56Speaker 4: Thursday morning, live from the Raising Cane Studio. Coming up
- 1:00Speaker 4: this weekend for your New Orleans Saints, they are going
- 1:04Speaker 4: to take on the undefeated Minnesota Vikings. Now, this is
- 1:09Speaker 4: a game that's going to be difficult. The Vikings defense,
- 1:12Speaker 4: really good. The Vikings defense throws a lot at you.
- 1:16Speaker 4: And They're finding a way to run the football, and
- 1:21Speaker 4: you can't. So they want to control the clock. They
- 1:24Speaker 4: want to impose their will on you. That's their style.
- 1:27Speaker 4: That's who they are. Kyler Murray is back.
- 1:30Speaker 5: He is healthy. The stats might not show it.
- 1:32Speaker 4: I thought he had some really good moments last week
- 1:34Speaker 4: against a bad Dolphins team, a young Dolphins team. We
- 1:39Speaker 4: gave you the stat earlier. The top six teams in
- 1:42Speaker 4: rushing in the NFL are a combined 19-5. The top
- 1:46Speaker 4: six teams in passing are 9-15. The Saints have to
- 1:53Speaker 4: run the football this weekend.
- 1:56Speaker 6: Yeah, we've said that a lot this week.
- 1:57Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:58Speaker 6: About both of our teams. Literally.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Well, the thing for LSU, they do want to run
- 2:05Speaker 4: the football. They've been successful running the football. They've had
- 2:08Speaker 4: some 300-yard games running the football. That's just kind of
- 2:11Speaker 4: our recipe for success for them. The Saints running the football.
- 2:17Speaker 4: Couldn't play dead in a Western. They have to get
- 2:21Speaker 4: better running the football. And, look, nobody cares about your injuries.
- 2:27Speaker 4: The Vikings aren't going to be like, well, A-chan's down.
- 2:32Speaker 4: They don't really have anybody. Kendre Miller, he's struggled. He
- 2:36Speaker 4: let a cornerback rip the football out of his hands.
- 2:39Speaker 6: They wouldn't even try.
- 2:41Speaker 5: Who's going to be able to run the football for them?
- 2:43Speaker 6: They don't care.
- 2:44Speaker 4: They don't care what your situation is. But you have
- 2:48Speaker 4: to try to establish it. You can't come out and
- 2:51Speaker 4: run three plays and them all be pass plays to
- 2:55Speaker 4: start a game.
- 2:57Speaker 6: I understand.
- 2:59Speaker 5: I get it. Your best players are your quarterback, your receivers,
- 3:04Speaker 5: and your tight ends.
- 3:06Speaker 4: It is what it is. Even if fully healthy, that's
- 3:08Speaker 4: probably still the same. So you want to lean on
- 3:12Speaker 4: your strengths. But in the National Football League, if you
- 3:16Speaker 4: do that, You were going to have a lot of
- 3:18Speaker 4: three and outs. You're going to give the ball back
- 3:21Speaker 4: to them, and you're going to take about a minute
- 3:23Speaker 4: and nine.
- 3:23Speaker 5: Seconds off the clock. You have to try to establish it.
- 3:28Speaker 4: Now, how you get to that, we'll have to see.
- 3:32Speaker 5: You've got to be creative. Be creative.
- 3:35Speaker 4: You have to do something because right now it's just
- 3:37Speaker 4: the formula for you, Matt, it's just not working. And
- 3:40Speaker 4: we can give you every box score of every loss
- 3:42Speaker 4: and even their wins. You ran the football 19 times
- 3:45Speaker 4: for 50 yards. in this game against Atlanta. Atlanta ran
- 3:50Speaker 4: it for 35 times and 205 yards.
- 3:52Speaker 5: Now, you don't have a Bijon.
- 3:54Speaker 4: I know that. Right now, you don't even have a
- 3:56Speaker 4: Brian Robinson. But is it getting Barryon Brown involved in it?
- 4:03Speaker 4: I know he had one carry. It didn't go well
- 4:05Speaker 4: in the game. I'm just trying to think of... It
- 4:06Speaker 4: was an unblocked jet sweep.
- 4:07Speaker 6: I mean, he can't... I'm.
- 4:08Speaker 4: Just trying to think of people to get involved in
- 4:10Speaker 4: the run game. I thought C.J. Donaldson had your best
- 4:13Speaker 4: runs of the game. I don't care when it came
- 4:14Speaker 4: in the game. I thought he saw it.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Kreese.
- 4:17Speaker 5: Foot in the ground, north-south, C.J.
- 4:19Speaker 6: Donaldson.
- 4:21Speaker 4: Undrafted free agent from Ohio State. He's played mostly fullback
- 4:25Speaker 4: for the Saints.
- 4:26Speaker 6: Put him.
- 4:28Speaker 1: In.
- 4:29Speaker 7: So I hear what you're saying, and I agree with
- 4:32Speaker 7: you that you've got to do something to try to
- 4:35Speaker 7: establish a running game. I just don't think you have
- 4:39Speaker 7: the ability to establish a running game.
- 4:43Speaker 5: They've run the football 99 times this year.
- 4:45Speaker 7: You know, you know who else also believes that the
- 4:49Speaker 7: saints need to try to establish a running game. Kelly Moore,
- 4:53Speaker 7: Brian Flores, I hope the defensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings.
- 4:59Speaker 7: I think he probably also knows that the saints have
- 5:02Speaker 7: to try to establish a running game.
- 5:04Speaker 6: He's not dumb. He's pretty good.
- 5:06Speaker 7: Uh, So I agree with you that they need to
- 5:10Speaker 7: establish it. I don't know if I agree with you
- 5:12Speaker 7: in the way they should go about that with starting
- 5:14Speaker 7: the game. I think they should start the game in
- 5:17Speaker 7: two minutes.
- 5:19Speaker 4: To start the game was what I said, but I'm
- 5:21Speaker 4: saying in a drive to go three straight passes over
- 5:24Speaker 4: and over again.
- 5:24Speaker 7: I don't think they want to do that again. I mean,
- 5:28Speaker 7: they were behind. They were getting crushed by the. Falcons
- 5:32Speaker 7: who've been bad all year. Okay, not bad, though. They're
- 5:35Speaker 7: not bad anymore. They started out bad. Pennix has kind
- 5:38Speaker 7: of righted that ship a little bit. But they were
- 5:41Speaker 7: down bad. I mean, they kind of had to throw
- 5:44Speaker 7: it at some point. I just don't think. I think
- 5:47Speaker 7: they can try to establish a run game. Has Kamara
- 5:50Speaker 7: ever in his career been a 20-plus something good when
- 5:55Speaker 7: he's carried the ball a ton of times in the
- 5:58Speaker 7: A and B gap?
- 5:59Speaker 6: That's never been his strength, right?
- 6:01Speaker 7: It's kind of always been a perfect person to have
- 6:05Speaker 7: a two-headed monster back there with.
- 6:08Speaker 6: Can he do it? Yeah, he can do it. I
- 6:10Speaker 6: just don't think he's ever excelled at that.
- 6:13Speaker 5: So what do you do?
- 6:15Speaker 6: I think you're in a rock and a hard... You
- 6:16Speaker 6: got to go find somebody. I think you try to.
- 6:20Speaker 6: I just don't think they can. At least consistently, they can.
- 6:26Speaker 7: They're never going to... This year, they're not... The Saints
- 6:29Speaker 7: are not going to be known as, man, they got
- 6:31Speaker 7: a good running game. They might have a good game,
- 6:35Speaker 7: or you get some clutch runs here and there, but
- 6:41Speaker 7: this is not, I mean, they tried in the offseason, right?
- 6:43Speaker 7: They've spent all the money. They did it, and that's
- 6:45Speaker 7: what's frustrating is because I know they knew they needed
- 6:47Speaker 7: to improve in that, and they made attempts, and we
- 6:50Speaker 7: all praised the attempts. We all celebrated the moves that
- 6:53Speaker 7: they made.
- 6:53Speaker 6: It just hasn't panned out.
- 6:58Speaker 5: Well, as you know, You can't wave the white flag.
- 7:02Speaker 5: You've got to find a way.
- 7:03Speaker 6: You've got the sixth-best quarterback in the league.
- 7:04Speaker 4: What is that way, though? Is it throwing screen passes
- 7:08Speaker 4: to your running back? Is it throwing swings to your
- 7:10Speaker 4: running back? And it's a long, extended handoff, basically.
- 7:13Speaker 7: I think you– we talked about it earlier this week.
- 7:20Speaker 7: The Saints are going to– when they win this year,
- 7:22Speaker 7: it's going to be exciting. They're not going to win
- 7:24Speaker 7: 13-10 any week. Their defense isn't good enough. They're going
- 7:28Speaker 7: to have to score in bunches, and they're going to
- 7:31Speaker 7: do that, but they're going to have some games that
- 7:32Speaker 7: it doesn't look great. You try to establish the run.
- 7:36Speaker 7: You do everything you can to do it. How consistent
- 7:38Speaker 7: can you be? It remains to be seen. I don't
- 7:40Speaker 7: think it can be that good unless you start getting
- 7:43Speaker 7: some injured guys back. But let's not just crush the
- 7:49Speaker 7: running game. Let's lay a finger on Bijan.
- 7:54Speaker 5: Yes, for sure. I get that part of it.
- 7:58Speaker 4: But this isn't just for the Falcons game, though.
- 8:00Speaker 5: It's for the entire season.
- 8:03Speaker 6: Yep.
- 8:05Speaker 4: The guy that you signed to be the fix, Travis Achan,
- 8:10Speaker 4: it wasn't horrible.
- 8:12Speaker 5: He's 4.3 yards per carry, but he only had 30 carries.
- 8:15Speaker 4: Alvin Kamara right now, 25 carries for 74 yards. Kendra Miller,
- 8:20Speaker 4: 19 carries for 53 yards. For those keeping score at
- 8:24Speaker 4: home that are good at math, that's 2.8 yards per carry.
- 8:27Speaker 6: I knew it. And look, we kind of broke it
- 8:33Speaker 6: down a lot, too, that.
- 8:37Speaker 7: And Nick Hunter Hill made the same comments as well.
- 8:40Speaker 7: It looks like they're running plays. It doesn't look like
- 8:44Speaker 7: they're executing a game plan. So, with that being said, like,
- 8:50Speaker 7: you're not... It doesn't seem like there's any flow, any identity.
- 8:53Speaker 7: You're not trying to really set anything up. It's the
- 8:55Speaker 7: lack of identity that's... Like, the identity right now is...
- 8:59Speaker 7: tyler shuck goby clutch chris alave run some awesome routes
- 9:03Speaker 7: john johnson play the best football you've ever played in
- 9:04Speaker 7: your life like you're getting really good play from some
- 9:06Speaker 7: guys but the identity is individuals right now you know.
- 9:11Speaker 4: What it sounds like like you just said and it's
- 9:13Speaker 4: true i'm agreeing with you hey tyler go do that
- 9:16Speaker 4: thing yeah go do that thing it's like when you're
- 9:18Speaker 4: like your parents want you to like kind of show
- 9:20Speaker 4: out for when you have people over at the house
- 9:22Speaker 4: and they're like hey hey hey moose hey do that
- 9:24Speaker 4: thing you do yeah What are you talking about? That
- 9:26Speaker 4: thing you do. That's the game plan right now. Hey, Tyler,
- 9:29Speaker 4: go do that thing you do. That thing you do
- 9:32Speaker 4: is not working.
- 9:32Speaker 7: I think it's probably not the game plan going in,
- 9:34Speaker 7: but it turns out to that because they haven't proved
- 9:37Speaker 7: to be very good at drawing up a first 15.
- 9:40Speaker 7: They haven't proved to be very good at their actual
- 9:42Speaker 7: game plan just at working because they stink in the
- 9:45Speaker 7: first half, especially the first quarter.
- 9:47Speaker 6: They stink.
- 9:48Speaker 7: And that's objective. That is not an opinion. They've led
- 9:52Speaker 7: one time after the first quarter in the last two
- 9:54Speaker 7: and a half seasons.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Right?
- 9:58Speaker 6: And that lead was 16.
- 10:00Speaker 7: To three so it's not like they're growing up anything
- 10:03Speaker 7: that's good so they just have to rely on okay
- 10:06Speaker 7: well let's scratch the game plan cool and let's.
- 10:08Speaker 6: Just go do that thing.
- 10:11Speaker 7: Doesn't always work it's going to work some that's why
- 10:13Speaker 7: i said the wins you get this.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Year are going to be exciting hey y'all ready for
- 10:16Speaker 4: the uh the run concept breakdown This is going to.
- 10:20Speaker 6: Should I sit down? You should stay seated.
- 10:23Speaker 8: Okay.
- 10:24Speaker 6: Outside.
- 10:25Speaker 4: All right, 94 runs. 94 runs for the New Orleans Saints.
- 10:30Speaker 5: Outside zone, 32. 34% of the run game. No surprise.
- 10:36Speaker 5: Certainly with Alvin Kamara. He runs that well.
- 10:39Speaker 4: It's his best run. Inside zone, 20 times. 21% of
- 10:43Speaker 4: the time. Some sort of a man.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Usually.
- 10:48Speaker 5: playing that as duo.
- 10:49Speaker 4: 10 times, 11% of the time. They've run four counters,
- 10:55Speaker 4: so four counters, 4% of the time. They've had 11 draws,
- 10:59Speaker 4: which is 12% of their run game. They've had two
- 11:02Speaker 4: pull leads, which is a little less than 2%. They've
- 11:06Speaker 4: had four traps, which is 4% of their run game.
- 11:11Speaker 4: They've had two trick plays, which is a small percentage
- 11:15Speaker 4: with Barry M.
- 11:16Speaker 6: Brown.
- 11:16Speaker 4: They've had four quarterback sneaks, Did you notice that something
- 11:21Speaker 4: is missing? There's one run that's missing from what I.
- 11:25Speaker 6: Just broke down. Don't tell me. Don't tell me it's power.
- 11:32Speaker 6: Not a one. Are you serious? What in the Joe
- 11:35Speaker 6: Sloan are we doing?
- 11:38Speaker 5: They have not run a single power. That can't be right.
- 11:42Speaker 6: That can't be right.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Look how much money you gave David Edwards in the offseason.
- 11:46Speaker 5: That can't be right.
- 11:47Speaker 4: I'm hoping that whoever charts the plays just had a
- 11:51Speaker 4: short circuit moment and they missed something.
- 11:54Speaker 6: And they were calling it a counter. It's a lot
- 11:56Speaker 6: of powers.
- 11:57Speaker 5: But even if they did, they only ran four.
- 11:58Speaker 9: What is happening in the state of Louisiana? If this
- 12:03Speaker 9: is factual, that's troublesome. It's a basic run.
- 12:08Speaker 4: As Matt always says, the Dunham fifth grade team is
- 12:12Speaker 4: going to run at least 10 in their next game.
- 12:16Speaker 4: The U-High 8th grade team, Hudson said he pulled 40
- 12:19Speaker 4: times last night.
- 12:22Speaker 5: He plays guard. We call that a power.
- 12:27Speaker 7: This can't be right. Did you just find this information
- 12:30Speaker 7: out during this segment?
- 12:32Speaker 6: I did. How did you not fall over? Man, we're being... Look.
- 12:39Speaker 5: There's being bad in running the football.
- 12:41Speaker 4: There's also egregiously not doing.
- 12:45Speaker 5: everything you can to be successful in the run game.
- 12:49Speaker 4: I'm serious. This is dead-ass serious. I need you to
- 12:53Speaker 4: text Scott and say, is this true?
- 12:59Speaker 6: Okay, I will. This is new information for both of us.
- 13:04Speaker 1: It is.
- 13:04Speaker 6: Just excuse us.
- 13:06Speaker 7: We're reeling a little bit right now. We're emotional about this.
- 13:09Speaker 7: There are things that are excusable.
- 13:11Speaker 6: I get it. It's the NFL. Don't you play this.
- 13:18Speaker 7: LSU excuse from last year and say we didn't have
- 13:20Speaker 7: the personnel to do it. Our guards, these are NFL guards.
- 13:30Speaker 7: And y'all know, when I started doing this show over
- 13:33Speaker 7: a year ago, I admit it, I'm not.
- 13:36Speaker 6: A Saints fan.
- 13:37Speaker 7: Played for the Saints a little bit for a few.
- 13:38Speaker 7: Got a couple cups of coffee there. I'm just not
- 13:41Speaker 7: a Saints fan. I'll cheer for them because we're in Louisiana.
- 13:44Speaker 7: But over the last year of talking about them, covering them,
- 13:48Speaker 7: all that good stuff, like I've been watching these games
- 13:50Speaker 7: and cheering with my heart a little bit. You know
- 13:52Speaker 7: what I mean? So I've been trying. This is about,
- 13:57Speaker 7: you know, to take one step back, two steps forward.
- 14:00Speaker 7: This is about 10 steps backwards for me, if it's true.
- 14:04Speaker 4: Yeah, and when we're kind of talking about this, and
- 14:06Speaker 4: of course, look, we love that play. That play is
- 14:09Speaker 4: like a staple of every offense. It's not even that.
- 14:11Speaker 4: It's the fact that if this is true, if this
- 14:13Speaker 4: has not been done, You have not turned over every leaf, okay?
- 14:18Speaker 4: If you can't run it through a zone scheme, inside-outside zone,
- 14:23Speaker 4: you go to a gap.
- 14:24Speaker 6: Scheme, counterpower.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Then, if you can't do that, you do something else.
- 14:31Speaker 4: You go to a duo, where that's your lead thing,
- 14:33Speaker 4: where you got two double teams.
- 14:35Speaker 6: You know what?
- 14:37Speaker 5: If you can't do it, you got to make sure
- 14:39Speaker 5: you're trying everything you can to do it.
- 14:41Speaker 7: You know what's crazy, though, Jake? There's a lot of
- 14:45Speaker 7: teams out there that just kind of like do all
- 14:47Speaker 7: of it, but not just one thing. What did you say?
- 14:54Speaker 7: Outside zone was 30% of their runs.
- 14:57Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:58Speaker 7: I don't think you can be a very good offense
- 15:00Speaker 7: in the NFL and have 30% outside zone.
- 15:04Speaker 6: Maybe, maybe that's right. Like right on the edge.
- 15:06Speaker 7: That's a little too much. People in NFL are fast.
- 15:11Speaker 7: That's a good changeup, and I think some teams do
- 15:13Speaker 7: it better than others. Obviously, the Saints aren't doing it
- 15:15Speaker 7: very well.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:17Speaker 7: If you don't have a good offensive line, like what
- 15:19Speaker 7: you just said, like the gaps game, things like that,
- 15:21Speaker 7: that's probably what you need to lean on. When your
- 15:23Speaker 7: offensive line is not as good as the other team,
- 15:25Speaker 7: the zone shouldn't be 50% of your– I.
- 15:30Speaker 4: Also like if you're not very good at that. So Buffalo,
- 15:34Speaker 4: who's– I forget where they were in the top six,
- 15:36Speaker 4: but they were in the top six. They're a team
- 15:39Speaker 4: that– they're a duo team. Two double teams right in
- 15:43Speaker 4: front of James Cook. And that's their play. They have
- 15:47Speaker 4: run it 38% of the time. That's who they are.
- 15:52Speaker 4: Go be good at something.
- 15:54Speaker 6: Try everything.
- 15:55Speaker 5: And, look, they've got a little bit of everything in
- 15:56Speaker 5: their run game.
- 15:57Speaker 6: For the Buffalo Bills.
- 15:59Speaker 7: Are we sure Brian Kelly is working television right now
- 16:01Speaker 7: and not a special consultant for the Saints?
- 16:05Speaker 5: I'm not even going to answer that.
- 16:06Speaker 6: I'm just going to take– God, you had to say that,
- 16:10Speaker 6: didn't you?
- 16:12Speaker 5: All right, I'm going to reset.
- 16:13Speaker 6: That was a joke. I know he's not.
- 16:14Speaker 2: I know.
- 16:16Speaker 4: We're going to reset. I'm going to tell you about
- 16:18Speaker 4: our friends over at Ochsner. We're going to take a break.

- 17:16Speaker 1: Off the bench. I never knew.
- 17:23Speaker 10: I never knew that everything was falling through, that everyone
- 17:28Speaker 10: I knew was waiting on a cue to turn and
- 17:33Speaker 10: run when all I needed was the truth.
- 17:37Speaker 1: That's how it's gotta be. Tigers turn talkers. This is
- 17:42Speaker 1: Off the Bench.
- 18:05Speaker 5: All right, welcome back in OTV.
- 18:15Speaker 4: As soon as we put the burnt CD tour together,
- 18:19Speaker 4: our first call might be the fray.
- 18:22Speaker 5: We'll see if they answer.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Their name is Bigger. On the poster?
- 18:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:26Speaker 5: Oh, for sure.
- 18:27Speaker 3: They're one of the bigger names.
- 18:28Speaker 6: No doubt. They got the 24-5.
- 18:30Speaker 5: I think we said Goo Goo Dolls was the headliner.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:33Speaker 5: They got the big name, too.
- 18:35Speaker 3: We got to pull in Hunt Palmer some type of way.
- 18:37Speaker 8: I mean, if the Goo Goo Dolls are there, Hunt's
- 18:39Speaker 8: going to be there.
- 18:42Speaker 6: You don't really have to pull a man.
- 18:43Speaker 8: I mean, he's just going to be there.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Fair.
- 18:49Speaker 6: Let's see.
- 18:50Speaker 5: MrBig553 in the chat.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Richards and Fuaga have been worse than Ruiz this season.
- 18:57Speaker 4: That's actually factual. That's actually factual. In fact, now this
- 19:02Speaker 4: is pro football focus, so take it as you will.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Eric McCoy is your highest rated offensive lineman for the
- 19:09Speaker 4: New Orleans Saints, your center at 74.2. Cesar Ruiz is
- 19:13Speaker 4: your second highest rated offensive lineman with a 64.3.
- 19:18Speaker 5: David Edwards, your big free.
- 19:19Speaker 4: Agent signing, 62.7. Quagga is 54.6.
- 19:26Speaker 5: Richards, 46. Your lowest rated player on offense right now?
- 19:35Speaker 6: Anybody want to take a guess?
- 19:38Speaker 3: I don't know about the season. You told us he
- 19:40Speaker 3: was the lowest rated on last week. Is it Oscar Delp?
- 19:46Speaker 6: That's your guess? Okay, Flynn? Yeah, sounds right. Okay, Moose?
- 19:55Speaker 8: We're talking just offense or in general?
- 19:56Speaker 5: Just offense.
- 19:57Speaker 8: Is it Aiton?
- 19:58Speaker 1: No.
- 19:58Speaker 6: Oscar Delp's a 53.
- 19:59Speaker 8: So not great, but certainly.
- 20:02Speaker 5: Not the worst. Uh, Kendra Miller's a 29.
- 20:11Speaker 8: Oh, well, of course.
- 20:13Speaker 6: Oh, well, yeah.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Okay.
- 20:14Speaker 8: Should have known.
- 20:15Speaker 6: Yeah. I should have known that one.
- 20:17Speaker 1: 29.
- 20:18Speaker 6: It's okay.
- 20:18Speaker 5: Maybe it's in a two and then a nine next
- 20:20Speaker 5: to it.
- 20:21Speaker 6: Hmm.
- 20:24Speaker 5: Crystal lobby is your highest rated.
- 20:26Speaker 8: I mean, I am no surprise that Juan Johnson's.
- 20:29Speaker 4: Got to be on Johnson is your third right behind
- 20:31Speaker 4: Tyler shock or naturally Devon Bailey.
- 20:34Speaker 5: He's been, he's been, he's been awesome, man. He's right
- 20:36Speaker 5: up there with a 71.
- 20:36Speaker 6: I like this.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Let's keep talking about good players.
- 20:40Speaker 8: We're just about out of those, Taylor.
- 20:42Speaker 5: There's four. There's multiple defensive players in the red.
- 20:45Speaker 6: There's four really good ones.
- 20:47Speaker 4: Your best defensive player, it's not really close, has been
- 20:50Speaker 4: Chase Young, 82. Now, your edge rushers have actually been
- 20:57Speaker 4: pretty good here.
- 20:59Speaker 6: They've been very good.
- 21:01Speaker 5: Pete Warner's been solid, solid player. K. Nails has been solid.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Your defensive line, I'm not even going to spend time
- 21:09Speaker 4: going through the names. It's a lot of 35, 34, 58, 51, 53.
- 21:23Speaker 4: So we talked about this for the last three weeks
- 21:25Speaker 4: with Nick Underhill. We've brought it up in some way.
- 21:28Speaker 4: This draft class right now, very poor.
- 21:34Speaker 6: Very poor. They're young.
- 21:36Speaker 5: We were all young rookies. Swimming in the deep end.
- 21:40Speaker 6: I remember it.
- 21:41Speaker 5: You remember.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:42Speaker 4: So it's not their final story. They'll write more chapters
- 21:45Speaker 4: after this. But currently, right now, like Christian Miller, your
- 21:49Speaker 4: second round pick was a healthy scratch last week. You
- 21:52Speaker 4: couldn't stop a nosebleed in the interior. Jordan Tyson hasn't
- 21:57Speaker 4: been on the field yet. And in a normal situation,
- 22:01Speaker 4: we probably wouldn't highlight that. But when that was the
- 22:04Speaker 4: biggest worry when you drafted him, it's going to get highlighted.
- 22:11Speaker 4: Oscar Delp, your third-round pick, what's he doing for you
- 22:15Speaker 4: right now?
- 22:16Speaker 5: What's he doing?
- 22:17Speaker 4: What's he doing well right now? I mean, Jawan Johnson's
- 22:21Speaker 4: playing really well. Noah Phan's playing well.
- 22:23Speaker 5: He's your third tight end as a third-round pick.
- 22:26Speaker 6: Everybody in the past game is playing well.
- 22:28Speaker 7: There's nobody that you can point at that's not playing
- 22:31Speaker 7: well in the past game, I don't think.
- 22:34Speaker 5: So that's your first three picks. Jeremiah Wright, the backup
- 22:38Speaker 5: offensive lineman.
- 22:40Speaker 6: So he hasn't played. He's your fourth-round pick.
- 22:42Speaker 4: Bryce Lance, Barryon Brown have been out there, still waiting
- 22:47Speaker 4: for them to make an explosive play. Barryon Brown's your returner,
- 22:54Speaker 4: so he has opportunities. They tried to get Bryce Lance
- 22:57Speaker 4: to the football in this last game, couldn't find separation.
- 23:00Speaker 5: Lorenzo Stiles Jr.
- 23:01Speaker 4: Is finally practicing again, so that's good to see, but
- 23:04Speaker 4: your fifth-round pick has not been out there.
- 23:08Speaker 5: It's a rough go of this draft class right now.
- 23:12Speaker 7: Well, the good part of all this, everybody is down
- 23:18Speaker 7: in the dumps after a performance like Monday night because there.
- 23:21Speaker 6: Was such buildup to it, such an emotional scene.
- 23:24Speaker 7: Everybody was pretty like, just a week ago today, we
- 23:27Speaker 7: were all pretty damn positive about the Saints. They were
- 23:31Speaker 7: 1-2 going into this past game. Sure, but it was
- 23:34Speaker 7: a nice-looking 1-2. You had a nice win. You had
- 23:38Speaker 7: a really nice one on the road. You should have
- 23:40Speaker 7: beat or could have. You had opportunities to beat Lions
- 23:42Speaker 7: on the road.
- 23:43Speaker 6: Two different ones. You lost two.
- 23:46Speaker 7: The Raiders, who were like, man, okay, that's a pretty
- 23:49Speaker 7: darn good team. We saw the Raiders play the Chiefs.
- 23:51Speaker 7: So we're going into Monday night thinking, this is a
- 23:53Speaker 7: nice one and two we're going into. And then you
- 23:57Speaker 7: throw that performance. So everyone, rightfully so, is upset and
- 24:02Speaker 7: emotional and looking at all the bad now. positive thing
- 24:06Speaker 7: is they're like, and I know we say this jokingly
- 24:08Speaker 7: a lot. There is 13 games left in the season. So,
- 24:12Speaker 7: but you are trying to figure out what can get better,
- 24:14Speaker 7: what needs to get better. I don't think anybody had
- 24:18Speaker 7: any illusions that the saints were going to win 11,
- 24:20Speaker 7: 12 games this season. There is still opportunities out there
- 24:23Speaker 7: to go and win exciting games. You're not going to
- 24:25Speaker 7: win them all. And you're not going to, and it's
- 24:26Speaker 7: going to look ugly sometimes because of these deficiencies.
- 24:29Speaker 6: You're not going to be.
- 24:30Speaker 7: Able to just ride the passing game to every single,
- 24:34Speaker 7: every single victory. They do need to improve. They do
- 24:37Speaker 7: need to get healthy. And you win a game like this,
- 24:41Speaker 7: this weekend, okay, everybody kind of forgets about last week
- 24:45Speaker 7: a little bit. Winning cures all. It rejuvenates the fan
- 24:48Speaker 7: base a little bit. It excites it a little bit.
- 24:50Speaker 7: You know what else can excite the fan base a
- 24:52Speaker 7: little bit? It's Jordan Tyson coming back from injury. Whenever
- 24:56Speaker 7: that is, we know what kind of player he could be.
- 25:00Speaker 7: What we saw in training camp was absolutely electric. And
- 25:04Speaker 7: all we saw were clips coming from practice. This pass
- 25:09Speaker 7: game is good. And it has a chance to be
- 25:11Speaker 7: absolutely great when he comes back.
- 25:14Speaker 6: The chance. I'm not saying it's going to be. You
- 25:17Speaker 6: still got to protect.
- 25:18Speaker 7: You still have to figure out how to run the football.
- 25:19Speaker 7: But how do you make up for that? Well, you
- 25:23Speaker 7: have a great passing game. That can make up for
- 25:24Speaker 7: a bad running game. Says the quarterback.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Top six rushing teams in the NFL, 19-5. The top
- 25:37Speaker 4: six passing teams in the NFL, 9-15.
- 25:40Speaker 6: That worries me. Well. It does. Saints were never going
- 25:54Speaker 6: to be a top six team in the NFL.
- 25:57Speaker 2: All right.
- 25:58Speaker 6: Not this year. Next year, Super Bowl.
- 26:04Speaker 5: We'll take a break.
- 26:05Speaker 4: After that, more OTB when we come back here live
- 26:08Speaker 4: from the Raising Cane Studio.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 26:13Speaker 6: All right.
- 26:14Speaker 5: If you are looking.
- 26:15Speaker 4: For an upgrade in your bathroom, but you say, you
- 26:19Speaker 4: know what?
- 26:20Speaker 5: It's the fall. We've got all these sports going on.
- 26:23Speaker 5: We've got school. We've got dance after school. We've got
- 26:26Speaker 5: so much going on. It's football season.
- 26:28Speaker 4: There's no way that we can have, you know, three weeks,
- 26:32Speaker 4: four weeks, five weeks of construction at our home.

- 27:38Speaker 5: think it's safe. It seems I.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Found the road to nowhere. Locked in on LSU football 24-7.
- 27:46Speaker 1: You're listening to Off the Bench. When I heard.
- 27:56Speaker 5: Thunder, but I'm down to one last breath.
- 27:57Speaker 6: And with it, let me say.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Let me say, hold me now. I'm six feet from.
- 28:07Speaker 5: The edge and I'm thinking.
- 28:09Speaker 6: I hear you, Scott.
- 28:11Speaker 1: I wish.
- 28:13Speaker 6: I wish, brother.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Creed today. Why don't we get Chef? Chef probably appreciates Creed, though,
- 28:24Speaker 4: if I'm being honest.
- 28:25Speaker 6: For sure.
- 28:26Speaker 4: All right, let's get to Little Munchies with our guy
- 28:28Speaker 4: Chef Michael Johnson.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Get ready to tantalize your taste buds and leave this
- 28:32Speaker 1: segment hungry. This is Munchies with Executive Chef Michael Johnson.
- 28:36Speaker 5: Let's eat.
- 28:38Speaker 4: Chef, what's going on, brother? Was I right saying that
- 28:41Speaker 4: sometimes you can dabble in some creed?
- 28:44Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, for sure.
- 28:44Speaker 5: Hell yeah, brother.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:46Speaker 5: Chef, how are we doing this week?
- 28:50Speaker 2: You may lose me. I'm on the highway. I'm just
- 28:53Speaker 2: north of Grenada, Mississippi. I'm on my way to Missouri
- 28:56Speaker 2: to get hitched.
- 28:58Speaker 6: Whoa, whoa.
- 28:59Speaker 5: What?
- 29:00Speaker 4: Huh?
- 29:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:02Speaker 5: To get hitched?
- 29:03Speaker 2: I'm getting married this weekend.
- 29:06Speaker 6: Hey! Holy cow!
- 29:08Speaker 5: Let's go, brother! That's what I'm talking about.
- 29:10Speaker 6: That's the way it should be.
- 29:12Speaker 2: A bold move in the middle of a football season,
- 29:14Speaker 2: I might add.
- 29:15Speaker 5: I mean, look, I'm not going to call you out
- 29:17Speaker 5: for a fall wedding, at least not on air. I'll
- 29:18Speaker 5: do that privately. Yeah.
- 29:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:22Speaker 2: I mean, last time I got married in the spring,
- 29:25Speaker 2: and that didn't work.
- 29:26Speaker 6: Hey, I'm with you. I'm with you, brother.
- 29:28Speaker 2: There you go.
- 29:28Speaker 5: I mean, where are we going to Missouri?
- 29:31Speaker 4: I know you obviously have ties to Mizzou, but can
- 29:34Speaker 4: you set the scene for us?
- 29:35Speaker 5: Do you even know, or are you just kind of
- 29:36Speaker 5: showing up?
- 29:37Speaker 2: No. Lake of the Ozarks. it's beautiful this time of year.
- 29:41Speaker 2: She and I are both born and raised in Missouri,
- 29:44Speaker 2: and there's a little place in the Ozarks called Ha
- 29:46Speaker 2: Ha Tonka State Park that there's an old castle that
- 29:50Speaker 2: is kind of remnants of a castle. I don't know
- 29:53Speaker 2: if it burnt down or if it never got fully constructed,
- 29:56Speaker 2: but my grandma used to take me there when we
- 29:57Speaker 2: were kids. Yeah. and it sits up on top of
- 30:00Speaker 2: the hill and looks over Lake of the Ozarks, and
- 30:03Speaker 2: it's October in the Ozarks.
- 30:05Speaker 6: I'm sure it's beautiful.
- 30:07Speaker 7: The foliage, everything. Well, congratulations, brother.
- 30:10Speaker 6: That is awesome.
- 30:12Speaker 7: I'm assuming this is going to be a nice little getaway,
- 30:15Speaker 7: but I'm assuming because it is fall, not much of
- 30:18Speaker 7: a honeymoon situation happening.
- 30:19Speaker 2: No, we're waiting for the spring for the honeymoon. There
- 30:22Speaker 2: you go. That was a little too much.
- 30:24Speaker 7: Are we going to focus that honeymoon around some good eats?
- 30:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, that's what my life is, right? I
- 30:33Speaker 2: think we're planning a little cruise trip around the Mediterranean
- 30:39Speaker 2: to dabble in the food there.
- 30:41Speaker 6: Heck yeah. Yeah.
- 30:43Speaker 2: I enjoyed Greece a lot. I think we'll go back
- 30:45Speaker 2: to Greece and then to Italy and perhaps to Spain
- 30:48Speaker 2: and Maybe Portugal. I don't remember all the places that
- 30:52Speaker 2: we were expecting to stop, but it's kind of a
- 30:55Speaker 2: smaller cruise, so you're not 10,000 deep.
- 31:01Speaker 5: Now, Chef, be honest with us.
- 31:03Speaker 4: Are you going to be able to fully turn it
- 31:05Speaker 4: off with LSU on the road?
- 31:09Speaker 5: Look, I know you've got a great staff.
- 31:10Speaker 4: Obviously, you have a great staff, but are you going
- 31:12Speaker 4: to be able to fully turn it off and not
- 31:13Speaker 4: worry about maybe the logistics of what's going on in Lexington?
- 31:18Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Yet you know I've been it's it's been piled up
- 31:24Speaker 2: on top of me all week and the ride is
- 31:25Speaker 2: helping you know like that I love driving and the
- 31:28Speaker 2: highway helps but I'm sure come wedding day I will
- 31:32Speaker 2: be fine but you know it's um it is it's
- 31:36Speaker 2: a matter of it's a matter of trusting your team
- 31:38Speaker 2: you know and I do that um you know the
- 31:41Speaker 2: dietician's kind of allowing me a little bit while we're
- 31:43Speaker 2: on the road and So they're stepping into my role
- 31:46Speaker 2: a little bit and getting to look at things from
- 31:48Speaker 2: a chef's lens. So that's kind of cool. But, you know,
- 31:51Speaker 2: you still worry about it, man. You want everything to
- 31:53Speaker 2: go smoothly. And people are superstitious, you know, like if
- 31:58Speaker 2: things don't go well, it's chef's fault because he's not here, right?
- 32:01Speaker 2: You know what I mean? I don't know, man.
- 32:04Speaker 6: Hey, next man up, chef. Next man up.
- 32:06Speaker 2: That's right. Yeah, you're right.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:09Speaker 6: Absolutely.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:10Speaker 7: For sure that's a good one all right so if
- 32:12Speaker 7: you're on a little road trip right now let's talk
- 32:14Speaker 7: about like this is important stuff here let's get down
- 32:17Speaker 7: to the important stuff the favorite snack on a road
- 32:20Speaker 7: trip you stop you got to get some gas you
- 32:22Speaker 7: got to run in to the gas station what's your
- 32:25Speaker 7: favorite pick mine's like a dry roasted peanut i love
- 32:27Speaker 7: it like a bag of dry roasted nuts it just
- 32:29Speaker 7: hits for me diet coke next to it oh hell
- 32:32Speaker 7: yeah fountain diet coke obviously obviously it's america what's your
- 32:35Speaker 7: what's your go-to snack on the road.
- 32:38Speaker 2: I don't drink soda too terribly often, but while I'm
- 32:40Speaker 2: on the road, I drink Coke. I like pistachios on
- 32:45Speaker 2: the road. I don't mind the shells, although if I
- 32:49Speaker 2: can find them without the shells, it makes it a
- 32:51Speaker 2: little bit less risky. Man, I'm an idiot for beef jerky,
- 32:55Speaker 2: but I will eat one of those big, large $ 30
- 33:00Speaker 2: bags of beef jerky.
- 33:05Speaker 6: A huge bag that's 5% full?
- 33:08Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right, exactly. You're paying for air and disappointment,
- 33:12Speaker 2: but I'll still pay $ 30 for it. That's my per diem, right?
- 33:16Speaker 6: I've never met a bad beef jerky, I can tell
- 33:18Speaker 6: you that.
- 33:18Speaker 2: That's right, yeah.
- 33:21Speaker 5: Hey, Chef, why is beef jerky so expensive?
- 33:23Speaker 2: Man, you know, at Pride, I'm not really sure, brother,
- 33:27Speaker 2: because they use cheap cuts of meat. I know. These
- 33:30Speaker 2: beef jerky companies are using the scraps off the cow.
- 33:34Speaker 2: to turn it into something that they're, you know, like, I,
- 33:37Speaker 2: I guess it's because the process and it's lengthy, you know, um,
- 33:40Speaker 2: that it takes time, you know, to dry it out
- 33:42Speaker 2: and dehydrate it. Um, I don't know, man, people are
- 33:46Speaker 2: proud of the products, brother. I've, I've, I've made beef
- 33:49Speaker 2: jerky for pretty cheap several times. And, um, you know,
- 33:53Speaker 2: I think about the margin that they're trying to keep,
- 33:55Speaker 2: but that's why I like to buy the small local ones.
- 33:58Speaker 2: At least if you're paying that much money for a
- 34:00Speaker 2: small local one, you know, it's going to go into a,
- 34:03Speaker 2: a man and his family or a woman and her family,
- 34:06Speaker 2: rather than some conglomerate that just choose it up and,
- 34:08Speaker 2: you know, puts it back out.
- 34:11Speaker 6: Corporate greed, baby. Effective beef jerky.
- 34:17Speaker 4: Uh, chef on your drive, like from where you're like,
- 34:20Speaker 4: I mean, I'm sure you've done it before, but from
- 34:22Speaker 4: where you're at to where you're going, is there like
- 34:24Speaker 4: a half to stop like a place on the trail
- 34:27Speaker 4: that you're like, I know we're going to make time
- 34:30Speaker 4: and you've almost timed your trip up based off this place.
- 34:33Speaker 2: Yeah, there's, well, a couple of fuel stations are important, right?
- 34:38Speaker 2: Mammoth Springs is at the edge of Arkansas and Missouri,
- 34:43Speaker 2: and it is the origin of the Spring River, I believe,
- 34:48Speaker 2: or the Mammoth River. And it's extraordinary. So water falls
- 34:55Speaker 2: in the hills there and gets captured in this gully
- 34:58Speaker 2: and actually goes underground. And then when it comes back up,
- 35:02Speaker 2: it is the... source of the spring river and it's
- 35:07Speaker 2: very nutrient rich and very clear and it's warm because
- 35:13Speaker 2: it's coming up from underneath and it's colorful you know
- 35:16Speaker 2: like there's lots of seagrass and stuff or water grass
- 35:19Speaker 2: or whatever that lives in it because of the nutrient
- 35:22Speaker 2: rich and it's just a really beautiful place man you
- 35:25Speaker 2: know if you've never been to a place where I
- 35:27Speaker 2: walk where a river begins it's a pretty special place
- 35:30Speaker 2: and it it's something it's a place where I always
- 35:33Speaker 2: stop with my kids my son is with me and
- 35:36Speaker 2: we'll stop today and and gawk at it for a
- 35:38Speaker 2: little while and take some pictures not for too long
- 35:40Speaker 2: because I have a timeline to keep but Mammoth Springs
- 35:44Speaker 2: is definitely a place that if you're in northern Arkansas
- 35:47Speaker 2: southern Missouri you know it's worth stopping it's in the
- 35:49Speaker 2: middle of nowhere it's on highway 63 cutting you know
- 35:53Speaker 2: as you Go up on 55, you cut west, and
- 35:56Speaker 2: go up through the middle of Arkansas and Missouri, and
- 35:59Speaker 2: it's a beautiful place.
- 36:01Speaker 7: Well, if there's something that we understand over here as fathers,
- 36:03Speaker 7: you always got to make good time, no matter what,
- 36:05Speaker 7: no matter how many stops you make. Hashtag MachiChef. Does
- 36:09Speaker 7: Chef like pierogies, and if so, sweet or savory?
- 36:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I like savory. I try to limit the sweets
- 36:16Speaker 2: in my life, man, just because I've always been that way.
- 36:19Speaker 2: I've always been a savory guy, but Now that I'm
- 36:21Speaker 2: borderline type two, it's something that I definitely keep closer
- 36:24Speaker 2: to attention to. I even think about it, you know,
- 36:29Speaker 2: like if you put some cream cheese or even boudin, man,
- 36:34Speaker 2: you put boudin in anything, pastry, and I'm going to
- 36:36Speaker 2: eat it, man. You know?
- 36:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:38Speaker 6: I love somebody.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Man, now I'm hungry.
- 36:43Speaker 5: I'm going to have to stop eating.
- 36:44Speaker 4: Chef, now you know what we go through every single
- 36:46Speaker 4: Thursday when we have you on the show. That's why
- 36:49Speaker 4: we moved it from the first hour to the third hour,
- 36:51Speaker 4: so we can go get some food after we.
- 36:53Speaker 5: Talk with you. Chef, we appreciate it.
- 36:55Speaker 4: Obviously, a huge, huge weekend for you, so congratulations. Can't
- 36:59Speaker 4: wait to hear all about it over the next couple
- 37:02Speaker 4: of weeks. Safe travels. Again, congratulations, and we'll talk.
- 37:05Speaker 6: To you soon.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Thanks, guys. Y'all take care.
- 37:07Speaker 4: All right, Chef Michael Johnson, good enough to join us
- 37:10Speaker 4: even on the way to his wedding.
- 37:12Speaker 6: You could have taken the week off, Chef. Wedding week.
- 37:15Speaker 5: No, you can't do that.
- 37:16Speaker 8: Okay, you're right.
- 37:17Speaker 6: My bad. That's on me. What are we talking about here?
- 37:23Speaker 5: Football season wedding. When you work in football, good for him.
- 37:25Speaker 6: He got it done. Good for him.
- 37:27Speaker 4: It's hard to do. It's hard to navigate. It's hard
- 37:30Speaker 4: to make those wrongs right. I do want to tell
- 37:34Speaker 4: you about Tommy's Windows, Doors, and Siding.
- 37:38Speaker 5: Go Tommy's. G-E-A-U-X.
- 37:40Speaker 4: Tommy's with a Y.com. Go Tommy's.com. You'll clearly see the difference.
- 37:44Speaker 4: Award-winning difference every year since 2016. The Angie Super Service Award.
- 37:48Speaker 4: How about Best Windows and the Advocate in 2025? That
- 37:51Speaker 4: went to Tommy's Windows, Doors, and Siding. Remember, they can
- 37:54Speaker 4: also do gutters as well. They do a little bit
- 37:57Speaker 4: of everything over there at Go Tommy's.
- 37:59Speaker 5: G-E-A-U-X. Tommy's with a Y.com.
- 38:07Speaker 6: Why is beef jerky so expensive?
- 38:09Speaker 7: It is ridiculous. I think they got used to it.
- 38:11Speaker 7: I think there was probably a shortage or something one time,
- 38:13Speaker 7: and they had to raise the price, and then they
- 38:16Speaker 7: just kept it raised because they liked the margins. It's ridiculous.
- 38:20Speaker 6: And it's the bags. There's like four pieces.
- 38:22Speaker 3: You get five pieces of beef jerky, and they're like,
- 38:25Speaker 3: all right, they'll be $ 21.
- 38:26Speaker 7: Yeah, and the little moisture bags are bigger than the
- 38:29Speaker 7: pieces of beef jerky.
- 38:30Speaker 5: Facts.
- 38:31Speaker 6: It's true.
- 38:34Speaker 5: Even like a bag of.
- 38:36Speaker 4: Chomps you know like oh dude those are so good
- 38:39Speaker 4: you know how much that is yeah they're not cheap
- 38:41Speaker 4: yeah let's say it's before we gotta get in this
- 38:44Speaker 4: beef jerky game.
- 38:45Speaker 5: Vortex yeah forget this hydration stuff what's.
- 38:48Speaker 3: Big jerky doing see this is this is the thing
- 38:50Speaker 3: we need to solve.
- 38:51Speaker 6: Big jerks i don't.
- 38:57Speaker 7: Know someone needs to fix it it's going to take
- 38:59Speaker 7: some probably some congressional situation i felt interference I think so.
- 39:05Speaker 6: It's going to have to come from the big dogs.
- 39:07Speaker 8: Y'all go just regular beef jerky, like the flavored ones?
- 39:10Speaker 3: Like a teriyaki.
- 39:11Speaker 4: I do enjoy a teriyaki, the peppered.
- 39:14Speaker 7: I was going to say pepper is just always great.
- 39:18Speaker 5: I like a jalapeno situation.
- 39:20Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 39:21Speaker 5: You know, that dog hunt.
- 39:22Speaker 6: I was serious. I've never had a bad jerky. That's true.
- 39:24Speaker 7: Like all the flavors. They used to have those like
- 39:26Speaker 7: the jerky depots. They were always about like that's for sure.
- 39:29Speaker 7: You know what?
- 39:30Speaker 3: You guys have inspired me. Luke, desk right next to mine,
- 39:34Speaker 3: he's had a beef jerky stick on his desk for
- 39:36Speaker 3: three days. I'm taking it. I'm eating it today.
- 39:38Speaker 6: Whoa.
- 39:39Speaker 5: That feels egregious.
- 39:40Speaker 8: I mean, you can't just steal, Taylor.
- 39:41Speaker 5: You can't steal a man's beef jerky. It doesn't run out.
- 39:43Speaker 3: It's not his. Cassie put it on his desk, and
- 39:46Speaker 3: he said he wanted it.
- 39:48Speaker 8: So you're stealing Cassie's beef jerky.
- 39:49Speaker 3: No, she gave it away.
- 39:51Speaker 6: Luke said he wanted it.
- 39:52Speaker 3: He doesn't. That's community beef jerky.
- 39:54Speaker 6: That's at a certain point.
- 39:56Speaker 5: I was like, there's some heavy lifting there, but.
- 39:58Speaker 6: If it's like, has he moved it from where she
- 40:00Speaker 6: placed it?
- 40:01Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no.
- 40:01Speaker 7: It is in the exact same place as she placed it.
- 40:07Speaker 7: I'm going to agree with you at a certain point.
- 40:08Speaker 6: Not yet. Not three days in.
- 40:09Speaker 3: He's brought in like protein drinks and everything. Two days
- 40:12Speaker 3: in a row. Now with the beef jerky sitting right there, that's.
- 40:14Speaker 8: A protein and beef jerky. What are we doing?
- 40:16Speaker 5: Uh, Guy's trying to supersit, and you're holding him back.
- 40:18Speaker 6: I don't know. All right.
- 40:21Speaker 5: Anyways, that feels weird. Just thief. Thief in the night.
- 40:25Speaker 6: I'd say wait until next week. If it hadn't moved
- 40:29Speaker 6: by then.
- 40:29Speaker 7: It's beat jerky.
- 40:29Speaker 3: It ain't going bad.
- 40:30Speaker 6: Yeah, if it hadn't moved by then. If he didn't
- 40:33Speaker 6: bring it.
- 40:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:35Speaker 6: You know.
- 40:37Speaker 4: All right, we'll take a break. Our last break of
- 40:39Speaker 4: the show. We're going to finish this one like we
- 40:41Speaker 4: do every single day. We'll ask the bench brought to
- 40:43Speaker 4: you by Dos Equis, answering your questions.
- 40:46Speaker 5: Get those inside the chat.
- 40:47Speaker 4: We'll get to as many as we can to close
- 40:48Speaker 4: it out here on a Thursday morning.
- 40:51Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 40:51Speaker 4: All right, go to RussellPools.com, the website for Russell Pool Company.
- 40:56Speaker 4: Been in the game since the 1960s here in South Louisiana.
- 41:00Speaker 4: There's nothing that they haven't seen when it comes to
- 41:03Speaker 4: the pool game. We know the conditions here. They can
- 41:05Speaker 4: be harsh. They've dealt with that since the 1960s. So
- 41:08Speaker 4: when they build your pool, they build it to stand
- 41:10Speaker 4: the test of time. If you bought a house that
- 41:12Speaker 4: has a boring pool, not going to throw a shape
- 41:14Speaker 4: on it because apparently I'm a hater, and you want
- 41:17Speaker 4: to upgrade it, you can do that as well. They
- 41:20Speaker 4: can put some different bells and whistles on your existing pool.
- 41:24Speaker 5: Go to RussellPools.com.
- 41:25Speaker 6: Yeah, don't take our word for it. Go check out
- 41:26Speaker 6: the website.
- 41:27Speaker 7: You can see all the work that they've done, the
- 41:29Speaker 7: beautiful pools, the beautiful lands, everything they can put around it.
- 41:32Speaker 7: Like things they can put in the pool of self-cleaning.
- 41:34Speaker 7: They can put like different water features, fire features, lazy.
- 41:38Speaker 6: Rooms, whatever. Or you can just get a standard pool,
- 41:40Speaker 6: whatever it is. They can work.
- 41:41Speaker 7: Whatever your dream is, whatever you have in your mind,
- 41:45Speaker 7: they can design it. They can build it. Two landscape
- 41:47Speaker 7: architects on staff. They are the best in the business.
- 41:49Speaker 7: Go to RussellPools.com.
- 41:56Speaker 1: Airwaves.
- 41:57Speaker 10: It's Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 42:02Speaker 1: All right, welcome back at OTB.
- 42:28Speaker 4: Well, Ask the Bench brought to you by our friends
- 42:30Speaker 4: over at Dos Equis. Always a great time to go.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Nice one.
- 42:37Speaker 5: Hashtag Ask the Bench. Who's going to be the Tigers'
- 42:39Speaker 5: leading rusher this weekend?
- 42:41Speaker 6: Dylan Jones? Yeah. Is that a trick question? It would
- 42:44Speaker 6: take a while.
- 42:45Speaker 4: I guess maybe they're asking a Sam Levitt question.
- 42:48Speaker 6: I mean, Dylan Jones would get 90% of the carries.
- 42:50Speaker 4: Harlem's going to play. Harlem Berry's going to play. Harlem's
- 42:52Speaker 4: earned some carries. I think Stacey Gage is going to play.
- 42:56Speaker 4: He's earned a carry or two for sure. Great performance
- 42:58Speaker 4: last week by both of those guys. But Dylan Jones
- 43:01Speaker 4: is starting to run it.
- 43:01Speaker 7: Let's not get it twisted. This isn't like in the
- 43:04Speaker 7: past where it's running back by committee.
- 43:06Speaker 5: No.
- 43:07Speaker 6: Dylan. He's the guy. Dylan Jones is your running back.
- 43:09Speaker 4: He's also your best pass protector, and that's going to
- 43:11Speaker 4: be very important in this game.
- 43:14Speaker 7: Oh, here's a good one right here. Hashtag Ask the Bench.
- 43:16Speaker 7: Who has the most important, air quote, desk? A teacher,
- 43:20Speaker 7: the boss, a principal, CEO, or coach?
- 43:25Speaker 9: Ooh.
- 43:26Speaker 1: Ooh.
- 43:27Speaker 6: I read this, and I got two that stick out.
- 43:30Speaker 5: I think principal.
- 43:30Speaker 3: Principal probably spends the most time at theirs.
- 43:36Speaker 8: Teacher has a pretty important desk, man.
- 43:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 43:38Speaker 8: It's a pretty important desk.
- 43:42Speaker 5: Principal, when you go in there, it's like, hmm.
- 43:44Speaker 3: It's a big desk.
- 43:45Speaker 6: Not good. It's big. He means business. She means business.
- 43:49Speaker 8: What are the real contents of that desk? I mean,
- 43:52Speaker 8: teacher's desk, you might have, like, lesson plans, test answers.
- 43:56Speaker 8: It's pretty important.
- 43:58Speaker 7: I'm wondering if y'all are taking that a little too literal.
- 44:00Speaker 7: I'm just wondering, maybe asking like jobs.
- 44:03Speaker 6: I mean, I, yeah. I'll say teacher and coach.
- 44:07Speaker 3: Coaching spending a lot of time at their desk. If
- 44:09Speaker 3: they are, that's a problem.
- 44:10Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 44:13Speaker 1: All right.
- 44:14Speaker 6: Good question. I like that one.
- 44:15Speaker 5: Hashtag ask the bench favorite sports comedy movie.
- 44:18Speaker 3: I mean, it's major league.
- 44:21Speaker 6: Major League's so good.
- 44:22Speaker 8: That's a great answer. I mean, it's hard.
- 44:24Speaker 5: Yeah, it's hard to beat that one.
- 44:25Speaker 6: Love the replacements. It's a great movie.
- 44:26Speaker 4: The replacements, like, if it's, like, silly, silly. Like, Major
- 44:30Speaker 4: League's got a little bit of seriousness to it. But
- 44:33Speaker 4: if it's, like, just off-the-wall replacements.
- 44:35Speaker 6: I mean, original Happy Gilmore.
- 44:38Speaker 8: Man, that's good.
- 44:39Speaker 3: Yeah, Happy Gilmore's a great one, too.
- 44:42Speaker 6: Caddyshack.
- 44:43Speaker 8: Caddyshack's fantastic. That's a good one, as well.
- 44:45Speaker 6: If we sat here, I bet we could come up with.
- 44:46Speaker 3: Some good ones.
- 44:47Speaker 8: Does dodgeball count?
- 44:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:49Speaker 6: Dodgeball.
- 44:50Speaker 5: It's all the Ocho. Beautiful, man.
- 44:53Speaker 6: Talladega Knights.
- 44:54Speaker 5: That, yeah.
- 44:54Speaker 6: There you go. Jeez.
- 44:56Speaker 5: All right.
- 44:57Speaker 6: Yeah, I know. I know.
- 44:58Speaker 4: Hashtag ask the bench. Fall break beach vacation canceled. What
- 45:02Speaker 4: can we do now as a family? How do you
- 45:06Speaker 4: feel about Six Flags?
- 45:07Speaker 6: Yeah. Go west.
- 45:09Speaker 5: You can go to Dallas. San Antonio might be getting
- 45:12Speaker 5: some weather. I don't know.
- 45:13Speaker 6: I don't know the weather there. Manifest destiny. Just go west.
- 45:14Speaker 6: Six Flags would be great at Lake Day.
- 45:16Speaker 5: Go to Six Flags Dallas. They got Arlington.
- 45:22Speaker 6: I know it is in Arlington. That's true.
- 45:24Speaker 3: Everything in Dallas is actually Arlington.
- 45:27Speaker 5: But Dallas, look, I have a lot of fun in Dallas.
- 45:29Speaker 6: Good city. Go to Six Flags. Do that. Watch some
- 45:31Speaker 6: film with us.
- 45:31Speaker 5: We love you. We thank you. We'll see you tomorrow
- 45:34Speaker 5: live from Rouse's. Go America.
- 45:36Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 45:40Speaker 5: All right, go to KDZBlinds.com.
- 45:42Speaker 4: That is the website for our friends over at KDZ
- 45:44Speaker 4: Interiors and Outdoor Living. Brandon Barton and the team have
- 45:46Speaker 4: been in the game since 2004. They helped me with
- 45:49Speaker 4: that motorized outdoor screen, and it has been a game changer.
- 45:53Speaker 4: About to get some Roman shades as well. Going to
- 45:56Speaker 4: get some more shades. Remember, they already helped me out
- 45:58Speaker 4: in the kitchen because we want some privacy. Privacy if
- 46:01Speaker 4: you're from England. We wanted to block the sun as well.
- 46:05Speaker 4: We said, hey, here's what we're looking for. Well, it's
- 46:09Speaker 4: not really sunny in England, though. You know, that's why
- 46:11Speaker 4: I didn't use it the second time. God blocks it.
- 46:13Speaker 6: Got it?
- 46:14Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying?
- 46:15Speaker 6: Makes sense, right? What's a Roman shade? Like Julius?
- 46:19Speaker 5: We've lost the thread here. Go to KDZBlinds.com.
- 46:21Speaker 7: If you're tired of looking at outdated blinds, harsh sunlight,
- 46:24Speaker 7: or rooms that just don't feel finished anymore, it's time
- 46:27Speaker 7: to call KDZ Interiors and Outdoor Living. They will bring
- 46:30Speaker 7: the showroom to you. Free in-home consultation. It's called Brandon
- 46:32Speaker 7: Barton and his team.
- 46:33Speaker 6: They are the best.
