- 2:18It has been a crazy, crazy week and it's been on and off.
- 2:22We had a little bit of rain. We're supposed to get a lot of
- 2:25snow this weekend on Sunday and Monday into Monday we could be
- 2:29hit with five to seven inches of snow.
- 2:33I've been hearing how how is it over there in the one and only
- 2:37Nebraska We're we're. Actually we're it was like 50°,
- 2:41but we're going to get like I think the high that we're going
- 2:44to have on the weekend, I think is 16 on Saturday and like 22 on
- 2:52Sunday. But we we have no snow, which
- 2:55I'm I'm I will take, you know, as the holidays like yeah,
- 2:59you're a present giver then you like I can't wait.
- 3:03I suck at it. I suck.
- 3:06So you just. So you just give the presents
- 3:08before the holidays even come? I suck, Carol.
- 3:11I am not good at it. I am not good and in fish I love
- 3:17you top of the closet. No, because I'm still going to
- 3:20see it. And then I'm, I know when I go
- 3:23in the closet like I'm, I'm going like I, I, it makes me so
- 3:28happy and I know it's going to make you guys happy.
- 3:31Like and I want and I don't need a holiday to give a gift, right?
- 3:36No, but it just, it makes me so happy and it's like I can't, I
- 3:41can't wait. And it's literally I get yelled
- 3:44at all the time, like you just need to wait.
- 3:47You need to wait, you need to do this.
- 3:48And like, but I have to tell somebody when I'm super excited
- 3:52about getting somebody a gift, right?
- 3:54Like, and I have all of you guys as gifts and I'm like, I'm just
- 3:58waiting. And I'm like like I just want to
- 4:02send them. Really.
- 4:05You got a gift for me now. Now you got me.
- 4:08Now me. Now you got me.
- 4:09Wondering what you got me? I it's probably it's probably a
- 4:12picture of your middle finger and you signed it.
- 4:14Go F yourself. That's.
- 4:16Probably something show me how it's on related.
- 4:25I could see that I I could definitely or a bobble head with
- 4:28you know, he got specially made for me with his middle finger up
- 4:32at me signed by Java. But it's funny you mentioning
- 4:39here. I lost my earring the other day
- 4:40and I had expensive diamond earrings and I ripped apart my
- 4:44bed. I had Brittany wake up and I'm
- 4:46like, get up. It might be under you.
- 4:48I can't find it. It's it's and it's a it's a big
- 4:51diamond and I finally. Found the same thing and he
- 4:54wanted those and like and I get him like his.
- 4:57His graduation gift was literally Jacob the jeweler did
- 5:03one. Like so he has a diamond pendant
- 5:05and everything like a dog tag and it's all wrapped in
- 5:08diamonds. I think I have that too.
- 5:10I think I I had something made years ago on that, but I don't
- 5:12even know where I what I did with it.
- 5:14And but I'm like cart, No, like I'm not like you're now like in
- 5:19a different realm, like I'm not going to buy you expensive
- 5:23earrings because exactly just what happened.
- 5:26I agree with you. Earrings.
- 5:29Jewelry. Are you a sunglasses person?
- 5:31Oh, are you kidding me? So anybody that knows me, I'm a
- 5:35collector, so I actually. Know that you know that.
- 5:39I have two pairs. I, I, by the way, I bought the
- 5:41Ray Ban Meta glasses. I have two pairs of those.
- 5:44So I and everybody. Hold on, which ones?
- 5:48And and I think Carter's watching the show or not, I'm
- 5:51not sure. Yeah, but I'm getting him
- 5:54something like that. Did you get the the transition
- 5:56lens ones those? Are the new ones.
- 5:59Those are the twos. I'm not ready to get the twos
- 6:01because usually when they come out there's always a flaw in
- 6:04them, so I wanted to wait until next year.
- 6:07We'll get you get the Gen. ones or the Gen. twos.
- 6:10I have the I have two of the Gen. ones so and I like I like
- 6:15them by the way, the Meadow meta glasses and the only difference
- 6:18between the the meta 2 and a meta ones is the new ones.
- 6:23It's 8 hours. You can actually use it for 8
- 6:26hours before the battery dies. The new the old ones it's 4
- 6:28hours. But really every single thing
- 6:31that the meta ones have, the meta twos have it.
- 6:34There's very little additional things.
- 6:36Now. There is the display glasses
- 6:38that came out, which are extra expensive and I and people, you
- 6:42have to go to the store and pick them up.
- 6:44You can't order them online. They do not sell them online
- 6:48unless. You go, you actually have to go
- 6:50in and like do all this stuff to like see them, right?
- 6:53Yep, Yep. And I I'm not.
- 6:55Doing we're not we're not as big as you guys here obviously in
- 6:58Nebraska, like we have like one place that will do that and like
- 7:03it's I think they're when I thought about it because I
- 7:07obviously I wanted to get them, but it's like, oh, it's probably
- 7:11like 6 months away and I'm like, I don't I like getting stuff
- 7:17immediately. So do I well, and that's that's
- 7:21the crappy part about now. It's like everybody's ordering
- 7:23everything off Amazon and I can't get it.
- 7:25Like usually it's next day and like I can't get it for like 3
- 7:28or 4 days and it makes. Me mad it takes forever and and
- 7:32with the holidays and and again the meta meta ones meta twos, if
- 7:36you have them, they're awesome. Anybody that's ever tried them,
- 7:40you pretty much tell it what to do and it'll it'll find it'll it
- 7:43tells you the weather tells you it'll tell you the directions.
- 7:45So tell me how to get here and it'll tell you word for word how
- 7:48to make a right make a left. It's at it's fancy.
- 7:50Is that what you were trying to show your friend Ray?
- 7:52Yes, before your party. Yes, yes, I was.
- 7:55I was teaching Ray how to use the metal ones.
- 7:58So I have two metal ones. Before we get in the show, was
- 8:01there was there one thing like I always remember like a white
- 8:06Christmas. I remember the one the one time
- 8:08and it correlated with being a white Christmas for me.
- 8:12Yes, and it was I got a Sega. Was was there one like Christmas
- 8:17that you remember where you got something that you didn't expect
- 8:20or like anything and everybody can jump in on this.
- 8:23So it's funny, it's funny. I celebrated Hanukkah and
- 8:27Christmas. So on my father's family, I
- 8:29celebrated Hanukkah and Hanukkah was like 8 days and eight
- 8:32nights. You get 8 presents on different
- 8:35days and Christmas, What my mom's family, you celebrate it
- 8:39one day, your Christmas Eve and Christmas, you know, Christmas
- 8:42morning. So I got a chance to celebrate
- 8:45both holidays. So I had like extra gifts and
- 8:49all this other stuff with the family.
- 8:50But I there is not one present that I actually there is one I
- 8:55always loved. Family matters.
- 8:57So the Urkel doll came out. Remember the Urkel got any
- 9:00cheese? Remember that?
- 9:02So that thing came out and I really wanted the Urkel doll.
- 9:05So my parents got me the Urkel and that that year those dolls
- 9:09went like hot cakes. Remember the what are what are
- 9:12those Furbies or whatever the hell they they came out when the
- 9:14Furbies came out. That thing I remember when the
- 9:17Furbies came out where you couldn't get a furbie, you had
- 9:21to like special order it and you wouldn't get it for months after
- 9:24the holidays. So that was probably the the one
- 9:28president I always remembered when I got it because that was
- 9:32the one thing I seriously wanted and my parents make sure I had
- 9:35it. But there was never.
- 9:36How about you, Speedy? You remember any?
- 9:38Well, yeah, probably the most significant one because I, I
- 9:40ended up having it for a while, was one of the first PS PS that
- 9:44came out at the time because there was a kid, I used to be
- 9:46the handheld. PSP.
- 9:47Yes, the handheld one, there was always one of my friends at this
- 9:50program I used to do was always playing it in the, in the while
- 9:53we were waiting and it was like the thing that opened at 5:00 or
- 9:56something. So I was always watching him
- 9:58play at Jabba. He was also, he was a big
- 10:00Yankees fan too. So he was always playing with
- 10:01the with the Yankees. If he was playing the MLB the
- 10:03Show game, he played other games too.
- 10:05So I always wanted out of those. And then I had it actually, I
- 10:08actually played it like for a while, I actually built this
- 10:10Madden franchise where I I controlled literally everything
- 10:12in it. So I ended up playing it for a
- 10:13long time after that, but I had a year.
- 10:17Into it, spit it out a. Year into it I put the disk in
- 10:20wrong too so I had to repair it at GameStop too and it took a
- 10:24while and I was so devastated. It's Speedy.
- 10:26If you ask him to say something, he tells a whole story about it.
- 10:30But I always asked you, is it, do you remember a present?
- 10:34We don't care what you did with it, how you used it and what
- 10:38what year you. Have job with like the Yankees.
- 10:41Yeah, but we didn't care. We have a show to do.
- 10:43I didn't. I don't really don't care what
- 10:45you did with it. How about you?
- 10:47You know, poops, Is there a gift that you remember?
- 10:50So I guess similar to Speedy, I remember what is it?
- 10:52I had a Nintendo DS. That was when the DS is kind of
- 10:55first came out. Remember having these Mario
- 10:58Bros, Mario Party, a bunch of other games, but I was a huge
- 11:01Mario guy, so that was pretty dope.
- 11:03Pretty cool getting that for the first time.
- 11:06That was the first time I ever saw those handheld too.
- 11:08So have you, have you seen, have you seen the real life like
- 11:11Mario Kart stuff that people are doing?
- 11:13Yes, yes. No real life Mario Kart like are
- 11:16you just talking about? Making all the meta, of course,
- 11:17the meta, the meta stuff that you can like actually go into
- 11:20the game and. Stuff like that.
- 11:21Nuts. Yeah, they have that.
- 11:24And how about you fish before we go?
- 11:26I know you're a Hanukkah guy. Is there a president that pops
- 11:29in mind for you, my friend, that you could remember that really
- 11:34stuck out to you when you were a kid?
- 11:36No, not really. I got the PS1, I think when it
- 11:40first came out in 97 with the Star Wars game.
- 11:45That was just the coolest thing ever when it first came out.
- 11:48And then there was like a Fifth Element game, if you remember
- 11:51the Fifth Element movie, that that game was like pretty fun
- 11:55too. But I just remember like the
- 11:56very beginning of the PlayStation series.
- 11:58I was, I've been a PlayStation guy ever since I've probably got
- 12:02in Playstation's like 2 on the holidays.
- 12:06Like we, you know, we don't really didn't like do the 8 days
- 12:08of presents. My brother and I, I would just
- 12:10be like, just give us the system and a game and we're good for
- 12:14the the holidays. Just add them all up together.
- 12:16We don't need socks. We don't need clothes, you know,
- 12:18because it's not. It's not.
- 12:20Christmas I'm still, I'm still, I'm still a socks dad.
- 12:23Like I'm still like, I got one. I got one for Carter.
- 12:27That's literally it says like the the Star Wars thing and
- 12:31obviously this goes back to you Errol.
- 12:34And I got it says like Luke and I'm your father, whatever.
- 12:37And I got that for Carter, for his stocking.
- 12:41Everybody knows I'm a die hard Star Wars fan and and we were
- 12:44talking about what is niffen look like and we were talking
- 12:47about an Ewok. So if anybody hasn't seen Star
- 12:49Wars the Ewoks. So if you ever see one of these
- 12:52furry little things running around during Comic Con and it
- 12:55looks like a weird little thing, it's it's probably Nathan.
- 12:58'S family Errol. Actually, I just got a better
- 13:01picture of what Nathan looks. Like before we go.
- 13:05There we go. There we go.
- 13:06You know, Nathan really is someone who cares.
- 13:09And we know Nathan cares. You know, mostly you know about
- 13:15specific people, but is that you know?
- 13:20Something like that. Nathan is just one of the most
- 13:29caring people that's ever been and I just wanted to throw it,
- 13:32put it out there that people should know about the caring of
- 13:35Nathan. No, he's a cat before we got
- 13:37started. That's so great.
- 13:39That's still good. But it's a Michigan University
- 13:44fired head coach Sharon Moore with A cause on Wednesday, and
- 13:50the cause is having an inappropriate relationship with
- 13:54a female staffer from within the program.
- 13:58The New York Post reports that football staffer Paige Shivers
- 14:02addressed address is where a 911 call came from where apparently
- 14:09Moore threatened to harm both her and himself.
- 14:13More than turned over to a detained by or detained and
- 14:18detained by police as a suspect of an alleged assault of a
- 14:24school employee. TMZ released a dispatch of
- 14:27Moore's wife calling 911, claiming Moore was suicidal
- 14:31after losing his job. ESP NS Adam Rittenberg reports
- 14:36that Moore will remain in police custody until his scheduled
- 14:40court case Friday. Several Michigan football
- 14:43players and students said they knew of of the potential scandal
- 14:47after Michigan lost to USC on October 11th, and the New York
- 14:52Post reports say he was behaving more and more erratically as the
- 14:58season went on towards players and staff.
- 15:01Since Moore is still under A2 year show cause what is it show
- 15:06cause penalty from the Connor Stallion scandal.
- 15:10It isn't likely that more will be allowed to coach college
- 15:15football again, regardless of how this plays out legally.
- 15:20This story, obviously we don't know the whole thing behind it.
- 15:24There's a lot more that we're going to hear and there's a lot
- 15:27more of the story that's going to come out and it might not be
- 15:29very good. Now me and first were talking
- 15:32about it and there's this another Penn State scandal.
- 15:35Now, I don't know if it's that bad that that was really, really
- 15:39bad. But the fact here is Michigan's
- 15:42been part of not one, but two scandals in the amount of three
- 15:46years. And you would think when you
- 15:48think about Jim Harbaugh leaving Michigan and going to the NFL
- 15:53and all that story and what the story came out with the Connor
- 15:56Stallion and stealing signs and, and what they were doing in Ohio
- 16:00State. As we have brought up Ohio State
- 16:02and, and, and obviously Coach Day and what he has done over
- 16:05the years to Michigan football, trying to save, stay Pat where
- 16:10Michigan was dominating out of state and finally something
- 16:14needed to give and it gave with the Conosalian story.
- 16:17Now you're hearing this story and this is the thing and this
- 16:21is where I look at it. Has this been going on since Jim
- 16:24Harbaugh? And if it has, did Jim know
- 16:28anything about it? And if Jim knew something about
- 16:32this and the FBI has investigated or will investigate
- 16:36deeper into the story, does Jim Harbaugh get pulled into this?
- 16:41Does he get arrested now? I don't know.
- 16:44I don't know how deep it has gone, but it seems to believe, I
- 16:48seem to believe that it wasn't going on just for two years.
- 16:51This guy has been there for a long, long time.
- 16:54Well, the Errol tear at the same time it's like exactly what you
- 16:57said. It affects so many like people
- 17:00on different depths of, of what like it really could be in like
- 17:06you said, how long has this been going on and how long have they
- 17:09have they known about it before it happens?
- 17:12And, and I kind of, I kind of relate this one to kind of like
- 17:16the Tiger Woods thing, right? And where like when one thing
- 17:19happens, the iceberg just appears, right?
- 17:24And so you see it and now all of a sudden all this other stuff
- 17:27comes out and you're like, it originally supposedly from a
- 17:31DoorDash slavery of him getting a Plan B delivered to his
- 17:34office, right? What?
- 17:37Like what are we doing? Like what are you're getting a
- 17:41DoorDash delivery from Plan B to your office?
- 17:44Like what? What are we talking about?
- 17:46You know what's really weird about this story?
- 17:48And again, we don't know the whole story.
- 17:50So all the fans out there, they're they're going to have
- 17:53assumptions and they're going to assume what the story is really
- 17:56about. What we do know is More is in
- 17:59custody right now and he's not going to be released until
- 18:02Friday, if he even gets released.
- 18:05We don't know what the depths of this story is.
- 18:08Only the police do and the FBI, which has investigated.
- 18:11And that's the crazy thing about all these stories that we speak
- 18:14about. We talk about basketball.
- 18:16We had Tim Donaghy on the show where you're talking about
- 18:18sports betting. Sports has become so big.
- 18:21It's become a business. And now you have coaches with
- 18:23the NIL deals and the portal and all the money that is given to
- 18:26these coaches and they get away with murder.
- 18:29They're getting away with so many different things, not just
- 18:32in college sports, but in professional sports.
- 18:35It it has you wondering, do they have control?
- 18:38Does the, the leagues have control?
- 18:40Do the committee and, and the NCAA have control of these guys
- 18:44that are making 10s of millions of dollars and not really
- 18:47understanding why these guys are involved in these scandals.
- 18:51And when you look at Moore and you look at this story, you knew
- 18:54that Moore had to keep quiet. He needs to make sure everything
- 18:57was clear and clean because of the scandal that happened with
- 19:01Connor Stallions. And now all of a sudden he knew
- 19:03about that. He knew he had to keep keep
- 19:05clean. He knew that he was the guy that
- 19:07was going to stay pat over there after Jim Harbaugh decided to
- 19:10flee and he took a lot of his coaches to go and coach over
- 19:12there in LA. He was the one that stayed
- 19:14there. Now, maybe the reason why he was
- 19:16staying there is because he had a relationship over there and
- 19:19that's why he wanted to stay. There could have been a lot of
- 19:22other reasons why behind the scenes on why Moore decided to
- 19:27stay there and not flee and go and coach over there with LA.
- 19:30Because the fact here is they're not allowed to play for a
- 19:34championship. They're not they're not allowed
- 19:35to go for a national championship because of what
- 19:38happened with the Connor Stallion story.
- 19:40And now you're sitting here and you're wondering, hey, did
- 19:43Michigan on it? Now the players knew about it.
- 19:45Did the executives, did the director of Michigan football
- 19:49know that this was going on? And if he did know what was
- 19:52going on, why isn't he getting arrested?
- 19:55And that that happened in Penn State.
- 19:58That's the same thing that happened in Penn State.
- 20:01Paternal knew some what was going on.
- 20:04But he kind of looked the other way and and you saw what
- 20:09happened. It ruined everything.
- 20:10Penn State, all the championships, all the great
- 20:13things that Penn State did washed away because of one
- 20:16person. And, and again, I'm not saying
- 20:20that Michigan is a great school and a great program and they're
- 20:23great people running it. They're not.
- 20:25We all know they're not. And I'm going to say that about
- 20:27a lot of, you know, programs and sports teams.
- 20:31They're not all great. But when you think about this
- 20:34story and you wonder that there are young women and young men
- 20:39being abused because of power, that to me makes me wonder if
- 20:45the business and the sports world and in the sport is bigger
- 20:49than everything else. And if that's the truth,
- 20:51something needs to be done. Something needs to be taken over
- 20:55by the NCAA and in college sports.
- 20:58Because if they don't do something about this soon, it's
- 21:02going to get worse. Because this isn't the only
- 21:04scandal going on right now. It's not just Michigan.
- 21:07I, I'm, I'm not creating a story and I don't know, but I'm going
- 21:12to tell you this right now. There are scandals going on
- 21:15every single day, every single day in sports.
- 21:19It's just a matter of who's getting caught and who's not.
- 21:21And guess what? Moore got caught because the guy
- 21:25was sloppy, stupid, dumb. And again, an organization, a
- 21:29program that does not know how to control their coaches and
- 21:33they don't know how to control where the money is going and why
- 21:37the money is going to those people that do not know how to
- 21:40control themselves sexually intimately and understand what
- 21:44the emblem and the the program is all about for, for developing
- 21:49young men and young ladies to move on in their lives.
- 21:52Yeah, the direct analogy would be the Penn State scandal, too.
- 21:55And you talk about the athletic director is having a lot of say
- 21:58in trying to cover these kinds of things up.
- 21:59And it's worse when it's personal level, too.
- 22:02It's one thing, obviously. Obviously we talk about these
- 22:04betting schemes and all this other stuff, all these
- 22:05recruiting violations that people have done in the past.
- 22:08And I brought it up a few months ago with Mel Tucker at Michigan
- 22:10State, State to Michigan State's been another one that was
- 22:13suspect obviously with the whole gymnastics scandal to Larry
- 22:16Nasser and Tom is always believes to know stuff about it
- 22:18and they cover that up obviously.
- 22:20How long was Larry Nasser getting away with it?
- 22:2210s of years and years. They had to go to that whole
- 22:25court case too, which took about five years for the gymnastics
- 22:28team to actually win their case and.
- 22:30The United States train the United States gymnastics.
- 22:34And what you said though, Errol too, the same like how many
- 22:37people like you said to the depth of it, like how many
- 22:40people did that? How many?
- 22:42People knew. About so many that that we
- 22:44probably don't even know about like as, as we speak in the
- 22:48media world and where you don't know like it's, it's so further
- 22:54more than we will ever even know.
- 22:58And how it's like affected these people in in ways where you,
- 23:03you, you can't quantify. You can't even say what it is,
- 23:07right, But it's, it's so much deeper and, and it's, it's crazy
- 23:13too, because there's, and you're 100% right where there's so many
- 23:21different organizations that this happened to my son's in
- 23:25college right now and literally they were at a Christmas party
- 23:28and their coach just said he's gone.
- 23:31And you just, it, it, it's crazy to me like as as a parent too,
- 23:36like when that happens, that affects your children.
- 23:40Like you said, this is young men, young women.
- 23:44And that affects on so many depths of what it is because
- 23:49they're going to move on and they're going to become great
- 23:52and they're going to do their own things.
- 23:54But it it affects in so many ways that you don't even
- 23:58understand, like, and there's so many people that hide things,
- 24:02right? Especially when you have depth
- 24:04of of a program that's that wealthy too.
- 24:06I was telling fish off air. One of the top five wealthiest
- 24:09schools in all of. Professors the wealthiest school
- 24:11in the Big 10 and obviously hence why they have the biggest
- 24:14stadium and and you were talking about it with like the the
- 24:17Connor Stallion scandal and all the other coaches that might
- 24:19have been covering that up. And let's be honest, the Connor
- 24:23Stallion Stallions was not to me.
- 24:27I, I don't call it a scandal. I I did never looked at the
- 24:30Connor Stallion story to be a scandal scandal.
- 24:33It was all to me. It was all taken to a whole
- 24:36nother level because of Ohio State and Ryan Day.
- 24:40I believe it was all about Ryan Day and is just to me his
- 24:45narcissism. And he was doing whatever it
- 24:47took to brush, brush out Michigan and Michigan football
- 24:52because he knew that Ohio State, the way they recruit and the way
- 24:55they do things over the last couple of years was really being
- 24:58blocked by Michigan and Jim Harbaugh.
- 25:00And I believe that. And Connor, Connor Stallions is
- 25:03not the only person reading and stealing science, everybody.
- 25:07Oh no, they hired. Six other students.
- 25:09Everybody does it, everybody does it.
- 25:12So to anybody, for anybody to think that, oh, Connor Stallions
- 25:16is a cheater, he was the he's a worthless piece of garbage.
- 25:20And yes, he's a die hard Michigan fan.
- 25:22And yes, he came out, he said he would do it again if it came
- 25:24down to it, if it comes to winning a national championship.
- 25:27I think any fan would say that. The fact here is this scandal is
- 25:32a lot, a lot worse when you think about when you're hearing
- 25:36a young lady and abusive assaults and all this other
- 25:40stuff and that this could be tailing back from years ago.
- 25:44And again, if Jim Harbaugh knew anything about this, and I'm
- 25:48not, by the way, I'm not creating a story, but it to me,
- 25:52it's, it's kind of unlikely that this just happened.
- 25:56Now, this has been going on a long time.
- 26:00This hasn't been going on for a year.
- 26:02This could, this should. And I believe that's why the
- 26:05investigation has, it usually takes 2 years before you're
- 26:10going to arrest somebody. You're investigating this and
- 26:13you're looking into it. They don't, they can't arrest
- 26:15you unless they have enough on you.
- 26:17It's the same thing with the Mafia.
- 26:20It took him years, years to take down John Gotti.
- 26:24Think about it. And John Gotti, they knew he was
- 26:26killing people. They they knew that he was
- 26:29whacking people and he was stealing and he was doing all
- 26:32these other things. They had to get enough on him to
- 26:36arrest him and put him away for a long time.
- 26:39The same thing here. They've they've been
- 26:41investigating this a long time. So does Jim Harbaugh know
- 26:45anything about this? Was he involved in any kind of
- 26:48way with this? And if it is true, does Jim lose
- 26:51his job? If it's if it's done?
- 26:54And I, I believe Michigan will protect Jim Harbaugh.
- 26:57I believe it. They're going to protect him
- 26:59because Jim Harbaugh is riding off into the sunset.
- 27:03He won a national championship. It wasn't taken away from him.
- 27:06And he did what he said he was going to do.
- 27:08And he's back. He's back coaching in the NFL
- 27:10trying to win a Super Bowl with Mr. Duckman.
- 27:13So I just it to me, it's starting to get me thinking that
- 27:17this has been going on a lot longer than people say this.
- 27:20Yeah. And also we talked about like
- 27:21the obviously the scandal of cheating being performance
- 27:23enhancing more directly related to why they won a national
- 27:26championship. But Java you mentioned to like
- 27:28something like this is like a, a personal a human humanity type
- 27:32scandal. Like this is directly direct
- 27:34contact. And like Errol was saying, like
- 27:37Paige was there for I think since 2022 at the.
- 27:40So this could have been going on for a very long.
- 27:42Time. Long time.
- 27:42About something you brought up on the phone to Errol is in fact
- 27:44that she coincidentally got a pay raise after.
- 27:46This I got a story up so you can go check you.
- 27:48Can check that out too. And she went for like 5055
- 27:53thousand 90. 90 ground. 55% increase and got 90 brand and
- 27:58she was the only staffer that ended up getting that, which
- 28:00makes it a very suspicious situation.
- 28:01But again, it's a lot. It's a lot worse when there's
- 28:03again assault charges on it. And here's another story.
- 28:07His wife, Moore's wife, reached out and called 911.
- 28:10Did she know about it? Was she involved with it?
- 28:14Come on, think about it. She called 911.
- 28:17Let's be honest, let's look at it this way.
- 28:19If if you know you're doing something wrong and you are like
- 28:24you, you're covering a lie to cover a lot, there is no chance
- 28:28she didn't know. Like she maybe she didn't know
- 28:32to the full extent of it, but you damn well know she knew
- 28:37something was going on. And that doesn't, that doesn't
- 28:43make it right or, or make it wrong in any and, and like we're
- 28:47not trying to like create a narrative or anything like, but
- 28:51when something like this goes on, it's not like it just came
- 28:55to fruition, right? It literally it's, it's had legs
- 29:00because that's the reason like that.
- 29:02We have the story, right? It's that's the reason.
- 29:06And I always like relate it to, to the things that we know here
- 29:11in Nebraska, like Tom Osborne covered up a lot of stuff And
- 29:17what did the university do? They covered it up to save face
- 29:21until it had to come. And there was there was only so
- 29:25much you can do at that point, like and now how do you repair
- 29:28that? How did?
- 29:29How do you repair? It you can't this, this is
- 29:31unrepairable, especially when it has to do with kids, underage
- 29:35kids that are going to school and the coaches are taking
- 29:38advantage of them. And and again, it's all about
- 29:41money with all the money that's being divided out now.
- 29:43I've been I've been behind the NIL deals, I've been behind the
- 29:48portal and how much money these kids should be making under, you
- 29:51know, under the thought that these coaches are making a
- 29:54ridiculous amount of money. And and these guys, they these
- 29:57coaches are recruiting them and bringing them to the school and
- 29:59they're winning championships and they're big recruit
- 30:03recruiting players that are going to play NFL football in
- 30:06two or three years. That to me makes a lot of sense
- 30:09on why I believe that the NCAA has not really realized that
- 30:14there has to be some kind of control of this money that as
- 30:17much as you think, think about it this way.
- 30:20All right, Lane Kiffin decided to go to LSU, right?
- 30:23That's what he decided to do. Why?
- 30:25Now? Obviously he got paid.
- 30:27Now, Old Miss offered him the same money, but it was the
- 30:30portal. He had been offered more portal
- 30:34money and NIL money to bring in more players to come and play
- 30:39for the school, more than Old Miss could afford.
- 30:42So he looked at it and said, hey, yeah, I know everybody's
- 30:45gonna go. I'm gonna give a shout out to
- 30:46Josh Silverbrook, who told me, well, he's an ass.
- 30:48He's this he's that anybody that sees the facts on the line and
- 30:54you what you put a check mark on every single thing that was
- 30:56offered to Lane Kiffin. I'm jumping, I'm I'm moving, I'm
- 31:00going to get I'm going to get in my car and I'm going to drive to
- 31:03LSU and I'm going to say sayonara to miss.
- 31:05So think about it. When you think about the money
- 31:08that's getting divided out now and now you could do it legally
- 31:12there there is no well, the FBI is going to get involved.
- 31:15You can't brush it under the table.
- 31:17You can't do what the Clippers did with Kawhi Leonard.
- 31:19You got to do it. You can actually stay face and
- 31:23and get away with it. Well, if that's the case, the
- 31:27NCAA has to look at these stories and wonder, do they
- 31:29really have control of it now that you can pay a young lady
- 31:35who's an assistant on the bench? Hey, you know what?
- 31:38I'm not going to give you a 55% pay raise just because you get a
- 31:42nice butt. You know, I, I didn't just think
- 31:45about it. To me, it's starting to get me
- 31:48worried that the NCAA do not know how to control the coaches
- 31:52do not know how to control the. But how?
- 31:55How would you like? How would?
- 31:57You, I don't know. I don't know, I don't know.
- 32:00I don't think there's any answer to it unless you're going to sit
- 32:03in the committee and you're going to get the smartest people
- 32:07in in sports and let them sit around and say, well, this
- 32:10works. But at the same time, you can
- 32:11say that, but the most corrupt people in the world is our
- 32:13government, yeah. And no doubt.
- 32:15And so you have all those people in power, and when you get
- 32:20power, and power is money, right?
- 32:23And that's exactly what you're saying.
- 32:25Yeah, it's scary. It is scary.
- 32:28There I it just it. I don't, I don't know that that
- 32:34they even know like even where to start, like as as an athlete
- 32:40or as whatever or an institution where they see, OK, these, you
- 32:45know, 1819 year old kids and then obviously some are playing
- 32:50five, 6-7 years and they're freaking have families and
- 32:52married and all the other stuff. But how or where?
- 32:57Where would you? Where would you start?
- 32:59I'm going to throw you a curveball.
- 33:00John Calipari, remember this and and fish you, you brought this
- 33:04up. You did.
- 33:05You had a John Calipari story. What was it?
- 33:08I don't know if it was last show.
- 33:09It was the last show and John Calipari was complaining that
- 33:13the NIL and the portals that these players are making so and
- 33:17so amount of money and all this other garbage that he is saying
- 33:20when he was the king of bringing youngsters, 1817 year old kids
- 33:24to play one year and go right into the to the NBA because of
- 33:27money, right? Remember that?
- 33:29You remember that fish? And now he was complaining about
- 33:32Rick Pitino, who's bringing in guys that are 2728 years old,
- 33:37over the age they're they're playing, they're been in college
- 33:40for five or six years. And he says, my guys are playing
- 33:43men. How is that fair?
- 33:45And here's the answer to it, guys.
- 33:48It isn't fair. There is no fairness when it
- 33:51comes to money. Money talks.
- 33:53It doesn't matter if the program has more money and they can
- 33:57throw more money into the nil deals or the portals.
- 34:00That's where they're going. That is the facts.
- 34:03There is no changing it until somebody puts something in
- 34:07writing. This is what you have.
- 34:10This is what you can spend and this is what you cannot do
- 34:14because if you do it, you're going to be suspended.
- 34:16You're going to be taken out of a ball game or you can't go into
- 34:19the NCAA tournament, the March Madness or whatever the hell it
- 34:22is. It's really bad right now.
- 34:24And there is no answer, Jabba. That's the answer.
- 34:26There is no answer. There's no.
- 34:29The only way you can figure something like this out is if
- 34:32you put the right people in a on a round table.
- 34:36And I'm not talking about Nick Saban or download Sweeney, who
- 34:38bitches and moans about everything because they didn't
- 34:41get what they wanted. And that's why Nick Saban's
- 34:44hanging out at the beach, hopefully not doing what Bill
- 34:46Belichick is doing, hanging out with a 24 year old and having
- 34:49his woman tell him what to do over there in North Carolina.
- 34:52Or, you know, do the right thing and, and, and figure out what is
- 34:56the right thing to do to protect these young people, these young
- 35:01adults when they go in front of a disgusting, you know, vicious,
- 35:07disgusting man like like Sharon Moore.
- 35:10He is he is the epiphany of what you should say.
- 35:15You want to keep your kids away from you want to make sure that
- 35:18your kids are safe away from this maniac because this man is
- 35:23not a good man. He has never been a good man.
- 35:26He to me, he's probably been whatever he was as a young man
- 35:31and he's doing it now to young people, young people that have
- 35:35no protection. They can't protect themselves.
- 35:38And unfortunately the NCAA needs to step in and do something
- 35:41about this guy needs to go to jail.
- 35:43The. Woman might be over 30 is what
- 35:45we're hearing the woman that's a staffer that's been around with
- 35:48him who cares in the program while and salaciously apparently
- 35:53him and the wife her and the wife are follow each other on
- 35:56Instagram. How wonderful there's a lot more
- 35:59to this that might be coming out it might be more Bobby Petrino
- 36:03esque than Sandusky esque which would be a good thing but
- 36:07obviously he's being arrested for an assault you know welcome.
- 36:11I mean, compared to Sandusky picture, what Petrino did was
- 36:14nothing, you know, but it's just terrible that we're talking
- 36:18about this. The Michigan program was a
- 36:20national champion just a couple of years ago.
- 36:22And now look what's happened to them.
- 36:24Like this is like as far as you could fall as fast as possible
- 36:27from those type of heights. It's pretty crazy that this has
- 36:30happened. It's embarrassing, like I would
- 36:32just be embarrassed at this point.
- 36:34NFL Network reports that the Colts have signed 44 year old
- 36:39quarterback and future Hall of Famer, yes Steve White, future
- 36:44Hall of Famer Philip Rivers to their practice.
- 36:47You think? He just wanted to get out of the
- 36:49house. 100 seconds. Is that what he wanted to do?
- 36:52He. Was he was coaching high school?
- 36:53But after losing starting quarterback Daniel Jones for the
- 36:57year with a torn Achilles and backup rookie Riley Leonard, who
- 37:01should be on a show spraining his PCL in the loss to
- 37:05Jacksonville with former first round pick Anthony Richardson
- 37:10still out with an eye injury, who knows he suffered in a
- 37:14pregame warm up early this season.
- 37:17The Colts had no one to step in under center if Leonard couldn't
- 37:23tough it out. He has practiced in full the
- 37:27last two days. Just in case.
- 37:29The Colts added Philip Rivers to the practice squad.
- 37:33Who listen to that? Rivers, who hasn't played since
- 37:37the pandemic, which as well. It's funny what he said at the
- 37:41news press conference when he. His big press conference was
- 37:45awesome. Yes, when he took the Colts to
- 37:47the playoffs in his final season, told CBS JJ Watt that he
- 37:52runs a very similar offense scheme offensive scheme as the
- 37:57Colts with his son's high school team.
- 38:00Head coach Shane Steiken was Rivers quarterback coach with
- 38:04the Chargers from 2016 to 2019 as he said how much he loved
- 38:08them. Reports say that the Colts tried
- 38:12to sign Broncos practice squad quarterback Sam Ellinger, but
- 38:17Ellinger turned it down. Injured Riley Leonard, former
- 38:22practice squad Brett Ripon and Phillip Rivers are the three
- 38:28quarterbacks who could start this week for the Indianapolis
- 38:32Colts. Rivers also pushes back his Hall
- 38:36of Fame clock by five years by continuing his NFL career.
- 38:42The Colts are sitting at 8:00 and 5:00 and have one of the
- 38:46toughest schedules left in the league, all against winning
- 38:49teams at the Seahawks, home versus the 49ers, home versus
- 38:54the Jaguars and at the Texans. To me, on the great defenses
- 39:00I've seen since the since the Baltimore Ravens of 2000, I'm
- 39:05not surprised. And it's so, it's so funny.
- 39:08And I, I wanted you guys to hear a little bit of question.
- 39:10Not not surprised if you think it would be him though.
- 39:13Yes, and I'm going to tell you why We have an audio right to
- 39:16speedy play video. All right, play the video.
- 39:19I want people to see a little bit of this video.
- 39:23A coach that I love and an organization that I really
- 39:28enjoyed being with. You know, Mr. Irsay believed in
- 39:32me in that year in 2020 when it didn't go so good in 2019.
- 39:37And shoot the the teammates that I was able to were able to play
- 39:41with shoot 14 of them still here.
- 39:44Training rooms the same and PR guys are the same equipment
- 39:47rooms the same. And they wanted me and, you
- 39:53know, I try to keep it as simple as that.
- 39:55And you know, game game. I love to play a game that I
- 39:59thought it was was I was done playing.
- 40:01Certainly I wasn't really hanging on to any hope of
- 40:03playing again. I kind of I kind of thought that
- 40:06ship had sailed. But something about it exciting
- 40:10me. And it's kind of one of those
- 40:12deals. The door opens and you can
- 40:14either walk through it and find out if you can do it or or run
- 40:18from and. And I know, I know that there's
- 40:22there's risk involved, obviously, if what may or may
- 40:25may not happen, but the only way to find out is go for it.
- 40:27And I just felt almost like it was a gift, another opportunity
- 40:32to to play and cut it loose with you guys and you got to live.
- 40:36You getting may get some bonus time.
- 40:38So I really kept it as kept, as simple as that.
- 40:40A gift. He he used it as a gift, ladies
- 40:43and gentlemen, and maybe it is a gift.
- 40:44Maybe it's a gift from God. You could see that he put on
- 40:47some weight. He's not in that that NFL body
- 40:52that he wants to be in. You could definitely see that he
- 40:56has that fatherly body. 44 years old.
- 40:59I still think first of all, Philip Rivers is to me one of
- 41:03the most accurate quarterbacks we've ever seen.
- 41:05So if you could still throw the ball, he could still make those
- 41:08passes. And I still think he is
- 41:10definitely credible to be better than Riley Leonard is.
- 41:14Now what worries me about it is he hasn't played an NFL football
- 41:18game for five years. As a matter of fact, the last
- 41:19time he's played during the pandemic.
- 41:21And he made a joke when he stepped up and he spoke to the
- 41:24media, says thank God this isn't a Zoom call.
- 41:27And and he made a joke because during the pandemic, all he
- 41:30could do when he came to speaking to the media is through
- 41:33a Zoom call. And, and now he, he gets a
- 41:36chance to talk to the, in the media.
- 41:37He talked about his family, he talked about all the trials and
- 41:40tribulations and, and Jim Ursay and how Jim Ursay gave him
- 41:43another chance and that he loved it there.
- 41:45And that he, he, he loves this organization.
- 41:48And he goes and he every single week, week in and week out, he
- 41:51watches all the Chargers games and all the Indianapolis Colts
- 41:55games, because those were the two teams he played for.
- 41:57And he has a lot of love for him.
- 41:59What makes me think that this man can do it is because of what
- 42:04he was when he played on the football field.
- 42:07The guy was cold when he went out there.
- 42:10He would yell at you. He, I've heard it.
- 42:12We've had guys on the show. He was a trickster.
- 42:15He was a jokester. And when he stepped on a
- 42:17football field, he didn't give a crap who you are.
- 42:19He didn't care if you were Tom Brady, Peyton Manning.
- 42:22If he wanted a mouth off to you, we wanted a mouth off to the
- 42:24defenses. He would do that.
- 42:25And you could see that he had that flair about him.
- 42:29Philip Rivers always was look down upon and what I mean by
- 42:32that is when he was drafted he was practically traded for Eli
- 42:38Manning because Eli Manning didn't want to play for San.
- 42:41Diego No, he wasn't. Practically, he was.
- 42:43Yeah. So he was pretty much thrown,
- 42:46thrown away and and taken by the San Diego Chargers.
- 42:49Now, you remember that's the same San Diego Chargers team
- 42:52that had Drew Brees. Drew Brees eventually went back.
- 42:55He went to New Orleans, won a Super Bowl, became the Drew
- 42:58Brees, a superstar quarterback that he he was when he came out
- 43:03of college, second round draft pick and Philip Rivers to me out
- 43:06of all three quarterbacks in that class from Eli Manning and
- 43:09Ben Roethlisberger was the not the most successful, but the
- 43:12most accurate and statistics would tell you he was the best
- 43:16one out of all three of them. Now I don't told the the best.
- 43:22Statistically was. Statistically, he was.
- 43:25Statistically, Phillip Rivers is better than all.
- 43:28But it was. 17 years that he played, of course he was going
- 43:32to have more yards. Actually, if you look at Phillip
- 43:34Rivers and and his career, I think he played less than Ben
- 43:38Roethlisberger and he played less than Eli Manning.
- 43:40So and. And he played more, but he
- 43:43played more years. One more year than Eli.
- 43:45One more yeah, it's it's not much and and his numbers are.
- 43:49Much better still, that's a whole year his.
- 43:51His to accumulate yarn. The fact, the fact here is he's
- 43:56statistics would tell you he's better than both of those guys.
- 43:59OK. Statistically saying that, OK.
- 44:01And we've talked about. I never said he was better.
- 44:03You. You.
- 44:04You hear what I said? No.
- 44:06You. Guys can agree and disagree on
- 44:07this one. Does does championships fall in
- 44:10that category? OK, so championships in the NFL,
- 44:14and I, and I've said this many, many times and I've gone back
- 44:16and forth with my arguments to this, it takes a team to win a
- 44:20championship. If you go over to Patrick
- 44:22Mahomes in those championships that he's won, go look at
- 44:24Patrick Mahomes. His numbers in the Super Bowl,
- 44:26they're not very good, OK? Even Tom Brady, his best Super
- 44:30Bowl was against the Eagles, which he lost against.
- 44:33He had over 500 yards and he didn't even win that Super Bowl
- 44:36when he played Nick Foles. OK, so when you go back and you
- 44:39talk about championships, it takes defenses, it takes special
- 44:42teams, it takes an offensive line, it takes coaching.
- 44:45So I'm going to go back to it. I'm not saying Phillip Rivers is
- 44:48better than in any one of those quarterbacks.
- 44:50I'm saying statistics would tell you when you look at the stats,
- 44:54he is better than Eli Manning. He is better than Ben
- 44:57Roethlisberger. You can disagree or agree to it.
- 45:00It doesn't really matter. The fact here is I don't think
- 45:03Eli Manning can come back. I don't think Ben Roethlisberger
- 45:07can come back. But I do believe Philip Rivers
- 45:10can come back now. How good he's going to be, I
- 45:13don't know, but. But how can you say that he's?
- 45:15More accurate. He's more accurate.
- 45:19He's more accurate than both of them.
- 45:20He isn't accurate. He has been known for his
- 45:22accuracy. As a matter of fact, he's been.
- 45:24Known so is he literally going to just run 5 yard outs and.
- 45:28I don't know what he's going to do.
- 45:29I don't know what he can do. I don't know what he can do.
- 45:32His accuracy is one thing, but Errol, you forget the problem
- 45:35that Philip Rivers always had is he was a sidearm thrower.
- 45:39He's a three quarter thrower. He has a weird arm slot.
- 45:42He's Uncle Rico. Well, he's much better than
- 45:46Uncle Rico, but it's Grandpa. He's got a grand grand grandson
- 45:50or a granddaughter one year old. So this is I don't know how many
- 45:53grandparents are playing quarterback 44.
- 45:55Years old. Come on, he's 44.
- 45:58Tom Brady played at 45 and he's and because he's a grandpa,
- 46:01because he had kids at a young age.
- 46:03I think he had his first kid when he was 19.
- 46:05Or you don't think having like a dozen kids in your house takes
- 46:08years off your life in ages you like in different ways.
- 46:11Nobody is. First of all, nobody is saying
- 46:13that. What I'm saying is and I don't
- 46:15know how. It's that.
- 46:17I'm not adding. Years to your life.
- 46:19I'm not saying it's going to work or it's not going to work.
- 46:23All I do know is out of all three of these quarterbacks
- 46:26coming out of retirement, he's the one that I could say that
- 46:30would probably, if if any of it it's going to work, it would be
- 46:34him. It's just just personality.
- 46:36Ben Roethlisberger came out after he heard that Philip
- 46:39Rivers was coming out of retirement and said he even made
- 46:42a joke about it. He says if if anybody that's
- 46:44going to do it, it's Phil. He knows that he can't do it.
- 46:47And Eli laughed, he giggled at it.
- 46:49He giggled at it because Eli knows he can't do it.
- 46:52He had back problems. Eli at the tail end of his
- 46:54career was not healthy enough. Philip Rivers, when he walked
- 46:57away from the sport, it wasn't because of injuries.
- 47:00It really wasn't. He left because he felt that it
- 47:04was time for him to step away. He had a family, he had kids.
- 47:08He wanted to coach his son in high school.
- 47:10That's what he wanted to do. So to say that I'm not saying
- 47:14it's going to work, who knows? I don't even know if he's ever
- 47:16going to even get a chance to step on the football field.
- 47:19You can't say that because if if you're stepping away from your
- 47:22family and as as a family man of what we all know Phillip Rivers
- 47:27and not obviously knowing him personally, we know he's a
- 47:29family man, right. There is no chance in hell that
- 47:33he is leaving his family and going to the practice squad if
- 47:37he ain't going to get on the field.
- 47:39No, there's no. There's no chance and and we
- 47:41know that. Go ahead.
- 47:43He's going to play guys. No, he's going to play.
- 47:45If Riley Leonard can't go, he's coming in.
- 47:48There's no doubt. Maybe not this week because they
- 47:51haven't really done anything with him yet, but he's gonna
- 47:55play because they have a chance to make the playoffs and they're
- 47:58not putting in Brett Rippens hands.
- 48:00Daniel Jones, who was supposed to get an extension at the end
- 48:02of the year, is not getting an extension.
- 48:04I'm I'm just letting everybody know this.
- 48:06That sucks. That sucks for him.
- 48:07Yeah, when you when you when you tear in Achilles, you're never
- 48:10the same quarterback. Anybody that knows anything
- 48:13about the Achilles there. And Daniel Jones is what, he's
- 48:1630 now. He there's no way.
- 48:19There is no way now, unfortunately, the culture going
- 48:22to give it to him. I think they're bringing Philip
- 48:23Rivers in because Riley Lanner is the guy that they believe is
- 48:26going to take over in the future.
- 48:28You bring in Phil. Phil is a leader.
- 48:30He understands how to be a coach on the sidelines.
- 48:34He's been coaching high school kids.
- 48:36They think that he can help Riley Leonard out at the last
- 48:39four years and maybe eventually become a part of that coaching
- 48:43staff. Maybe his plan, maybe the whole
- 48:45point of Stiken is bringing him in to be the quarterback coach
- 48:49for next year. For a guy like a Riley Leonard,
- 48:52that's. A cool idea.
- 48:53That's a really cool idea. It could.
- 48:55Happen. It could happen.
- 48:56You know, I don't know if they're.
- 48:58He's on he's on something right there.
- 49:00Like maybe he he saw that too in where it's like, OK, I can help
- 49:07in this, in this context of doing.
- 49:09But at the end of the day, he's 44 years old, He's done
- 49:13everything that he could do. And he's like, yeah, I still get
- 49:16the opportunity. But I Errol, I think you're 100%
- 49:19right when, and I guess I never really thought about it like
- 49:23this because we obviously know he's, you know, he's coaching
- 49:26high school and doing all these other things, but maybe that's
- 49:30kind of where he saw it too. And it's like, Hey, I'm, I'm
- 49:32still young enough. Obviously I can, you know, get
- 49:35in and, and strap it up and lace him up again.
- 49:38But then it's like, hey, after this, instead of being in high
- 49:41school, why the heck can I come do this and like and see kind of
- 49:46the leadership that he does have and be a part of a franchise,
- 49:50whether it's with the Colts or whether it's with somebody else.
- 49:53But to see kind of how he helps in in transitions, those certain
- 49:58things. Aaron Rodgers when he was with
- 49:59Brett Favre, same kind of same thing, right?
- 50:02Where you I don't. Think Aaron Rodgers would come
- 50:04back like this though? No, he would do a.
- 50:06Bunch of stuff. You know why guys can't come
- 50:09back in football and This is why.
- 50:10I'd be really surprised if it works.
- 50:11Maybe Philip Rivers is one of the few guys that can do it.
- 50:14Brett Favre similar, it's can you still take a hit?
- 50:17Are you going to hear footsteps after that first hit?
- 50:21It's very different. I remember even Michael Vick
- 50:24hearing footsteps at the end of his career because he didn't
- 50:27want to take a hit anymore. And that was Michael Vick.
- 50:29You know what I mean? That happens to everybody.
- 50:31You just can't react as fast. You know it's going to hurt.
- 50:35Miles Garrett is coming off the edge.
- 50:38You know, like that guy's got a 16 pack.
- 50:41He's going to destroy your life. You're going to be able to throw
- 50:44this ball accurately from a three quarter arm slot at age 44
- 50:47when that's coming from you. If you do, you have the best
- 50:50guts of all time. Maybe you're a crazy person.
- 50:53Brett Favre we know has Parkinson's, you know what I
- 50:57mean? Like he took a lot of hits.
- 50:59Not a smart move by him, but at the same time, you know,
- 51:02warrior, you know, on the field. So there's like, you know, the
- 51:06positives and the negatives of all that.
- 51:08I I just, I'd be shocked because I just see it.
- 51:11You see it all the time, like they're just not the same
- 51:14because they're not going to be as aggressive in the pocket
- 51:16because they're afraid to get hit.
- 51:18But but Fish, this is the same guy that played in the playoffs
- 51:22with the torn ACL. Four years ago and that the ACL
- 51:26thing is just senior I'm just. Saying I've never seen a
- 51:28quarterback do that. And I remember, I agree with
- 51:32you. I remember that.
- 51:32Your take on it, Yeah. Again, they were going to be
- 51:34stuck at the for the short term at the quarterback position no
- 51:36matter what. So I like you're thinking of
- 51:38like trying to mentor Riley Leonard because the Colts are
- 51:40not going to have a first round pick.
- 51:41So like the the odds of them taking another quarterback and
- 51:44if they let Daniel Jones go is going to be very slim as it is.
- 51:47So at least for at least maybe a short term plan for the length
- 51:50of his rookie contract, that would be where you want to go.
- 51:51The Colts if they were throwing darts at trying to save their
- 51:54playoff spot at quarterback anyway, it would have been to
- 51:56something like that with Sam Allinger who was drafted by
- 51:59them. But now it's Saiken and he just
- 52:01knows the team a little bit or Brett Rippen, like one of these
- 52:03other guys that are third string quarterback, practice squad
- 52:06quarterback. So like, what's the harm in the
- 52:07upside of playing? Try out Philip Rivers if he's
- 52:11available and he's healthy. And again, he maybe you just get
- 52:13a semi pseudo quarterback coach out of it for Riley Leonard if
- 52:17it doesn't being the case, because Riley Leonard, it seems
- 52:19like they he played well enough last week and I think to play if
- 52:21he's healthy, he looks like you. We've seen him go to a national
- 52:25championship. We know Riley Leonard has the
- 52:28the personality to be a good quarterback in the league if he
- 52:31gets the right tutelage and and the coaching on the side.
- 52:34And I think Phillip Rivers makes a lot of sense.
- 52:36And we and we know from interviewing him that Riley's a
- 52:38smart guy. Yes, he's very smart.
- 52:40He's a very coachable player. Like smart guy, but not a very
- 52:44nice. Guy.
- 52:44All right, I should say this smart guy on the football field.
- 52:47I'm just kidding. He was mocking the professor.
- 52:50I know you were getting it with that.
- 52:51Just kidding. I, I, I, the fact is, is Riley's
- 52:54always been a nice guy. We've been interviewing since
- 52:56the 8th grade. I, I mean, we know what Riley is
- 52:59capable of and we know what the personality that he is.
- 53:02So we expect him to be successful in the NFL because
- 53:05everywhere he's gone, he's been successful.
- 53:08So I I'm not I will never ever bust on a kid that I know and
- 53:13I've known for a long, long time and seen him develop as a great
- 53:15quarterback in college, high school and now the NFL.
- 53:19So and Anthony Richardson, he's done.
- 53:22I think they know he's done and and they're.
- 53:26He he had an opportunity to be great.
- 53:28Yeah, he's done, man. He's absolutely done.
- 53:30And and again, as a as a fan of Philip Rivers, because I am a
- 53:34fan of Philip Rivers the window thrower himself, as Mike
- 53:36Francesa always called him. He gave him the nickname I I
- 53:40could say this about Philip Rivers.
- 53:42If there's anybody that can do this, it's him.
- 53:48I just, there's something about him and I think it's crazy.
- 53:51I like Fish says anybody that's coming out of retirement hasn't
- 53:55been hit by a professional athlete, 350 lbs coming at you
- 54:00like a bowl and is going to try to run you over and try to take
- 54:04your head off. I, I be, I'm going to say I'm
- 54:07going to be crapping my pants, but Phillip Rivers has a set of
- 54:11balls, set of knockers on him. And it obviously does because
- 54:14you got a ton of kids. But but we.
- 54:17We. Always, we always think too, as
- 54:20guys that have done it before, like me just playing catch with
- 54:23Carter, right? And and Carter's like, you're
- 54:25going to hit me in the chest. And I'm like, dude, I'm still
- 54:29doing the same things that I did when, you know, I was 20 years
- 54:33old. And we think we can do it.
- 54:36It's a little bit different, it's a little bit different, but
- 54:39we still always are going to think that.
- 54:42And when you get to the pinnacle of, of what you do, and
- 54:46especially in sports and, and as all of us being competitive,
- 54:49right, like I don't like losing in anything.
- 54:51I don't care if it's cards. I don't care if it's like, but
- 54:54then you get in the opportunity. Well, 100%, you know, we've,
- 54:59we've had that conversation, but it's, I'm, I'm excited for him
- 55:05as as a dad and as an athlete. Like, I'm excited to see what he
- 55:11can do because he was a great quarterback and you can't take
- 55:17that away from him. And now to come back and to see
- 55:20what he can maybe do at 44. Like I'm, I'm excited about
- 55:26this. I, I am.
- 55:28And he may suck, but at the same time, we're still going to enjoy
- 55:33it either. If he believes he can do it, I'm
- 55:39sure he's got something up his sleeve.
- 55:40Thank you. I think he does.
- 55:42All right. Ladies and gentlemen, our deuce
- 55:44of the day. The deuce of the day you log.
- 55:47Not a log. I don't have a log but.
- 55:57All right, ladies and gentlemen, our deuce of the day goes to Cam
- 56:00Newton. Yeah, Cam Newton has a lot to
- 56:03say about the Phillip Rivers story as he came out and said,
- 56:08wait a second, Phillip Rivers is coming out of retirement.
- 56:11Why don't they come to me? I'm Cam Newton.
- 56:14I still have it in me. I'm younger.
- 56:16I've got the ability, I'm this, I'm that.
- 56:19And of course Phillip Rivers didn't say anything.
- 56:22He obviously, I'm sure he heard Cam Newton all over, you know,
- 56:28the Stephen A Smith show and all the other stupid crap shows that
- 56:31he's been on. And Cam Newton has a problem.
- 56:34It's always about him. It's me, me, me, me, me, me.
- 56:37Instead of letting it just go and let I you didn't hear Ben
- 56:40Roethlisberger say you didn't hear Eli Manning say it.
- 56:42You're the guys. Tony Romo loves it.
- 56:45But the guy that didn't like it is the one guy you don't want to
- 56:48hear from Mr. Ugly Hatter himself.
- 56:52Cam Newton comes out and says, wait a second, why didn't
- 56:55Indianapolis reach out to me? I'll tell you why, Cam, Because
- 56:58we've seen enough of Cam Newton. We saw you with the New England
- 57:01Patriots. You sucked.
- 57:02But you came out and you talk about Drake May and you took
- 57:05shots at Drake May on the season.
- 57:06He's having OK everything. You got a problem with
- 57:09everybody, Cam. Why don't you just keep your
- 57:11mouth shut? Why are you open your mouth?
- 57:13Philip Rivers didn't throw you under the bus or all the garbage
- 57:16that comes out of your mouth. Cam, you don't even know what
- 57:18you're talking about half the time, but you you speak like you
- 57:20know everything. That's the problem.
- 57:23Unfortunately, Cam Newton is a person that you just don't want
- 57:29to like and Philip Rivers every time he speaks and is he gives
- 57:33you the energy you want to like him.
- 57:35You want to rude him on. So the difference between both
- 57:38of them is he's a guy that you want to hate and a guy that you
- 57:41want to love and who you going to bring in the guy that you
- 57:45want to love. So my thoughts to Cam Newton and
- 57:49his garbage and and bringing up the the fact that they should
- 57:53have reached out to him or why not him?
- 57:55Here's the reason why Cam you couldn't throw the ball.
- 57:59You were an inaccurate quarterback.
- 58:02At best. You are a running quarterback.
- 58:04You will full back at the quarterback position trampling
- 58:08over people because you're 64 and £250.
- 58:11That's what you were. You were never a throwing
- 58:14quarterback. I don't care if you won a
- 58:15national championship with Auburn.
- 58:17I don't care if you went to a Super Bowl and won an MVP.
- 58:20To me you were one of the most overrated quarterbacks of this
- 58:24era. So that's the reason why you
- 58:26have a Hall of Fame quarterback in Phillip Rivers and a no shame
- 58:31all all talk Cam Newton. And I don't call him a
- 58:35quarterback. I call him a big mouth, attitude
- 58:38driven piece of you know what? So my juice of the day goes to
- 58:42Cam Newton and I don't want to hear him.
- 58:44I don't want to hear him anymore on any show and his complaining
- 58:48about quarterback play and what he knows about the position
- 58:51because guess what, you're not a quarterback anymore and all you
- 58:54are is a media guy that doesn't shut the you know what up.
- 58:57Anyways, that's it for a show. Thank you.
