- 0:20Speaker 2: and we are diving into.
- 0:22Speaker 3: All the wild, unfiltered stories from Parents' weekend.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Because if you guys think Rush is chaotic, just wait
- 0:30Speaker 2: till the parents show up.
- 0:32Speaker 3: So, first of all, hi, rachie ye hie.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Uh So, for those of you who don't know or
- 0:40Speaker 2: have never done weekend like this, Rach, what is parents weekend?
- 0:44Speaker 4: And so weekend one weekend out of the air when
- 0:46Speaker 4: all the parents.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Come, it's pretty right, well, it is pretty self explanatory.
- 0:52Speaker 3: But there's a lot more too.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Within that, there are like activities lots of times, depends
- 0:57Speaker 2: on the school, right, there's like football games.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Yeah, depends on the school, I guess, but yeah, there's
- 1:02Speaker 1: football games.
- 1:03Speaker 4: If you're in a sorority of frat. There's usually little like.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Day parties, little day parties, big day parties, big day parties.
- 1:12Speaker 2: So all right, So when I came on sophomore year,
- 1:15Speaker 2: oh I remember who you were living with, what we
- 1:18Speaker 2: what were you the most excited for me to see?
- 1:20Speaker 1: We went to my group of friends house that they
- 1:22Speaker 1: were living at at the time, and we just yeah,
- 1:24Speaker 1: right there all day.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, I remember that. I remember that.
- 1:28Speaker 2: So were you like, was it like nerve wracking, like,
- 1:31Speaker 2: oh my god, my mom was going to come and
- 1:33Speaker 2: see my lifestyle, or like you.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Were maybe a little I think like just showing you
- 1:41Speaker 1: everything and how much with them drinking and all that.
- 1:46Speaker 4: We went crazy that year.
- 1:48Speaker 3: I remember if you had a boyfriend at that point, No.
- 1:51Speaker 4: Almost you just broken up. No I no, no, no, no,
- 1:54Speaker 4: I was. I liked this kid.
- 1:56Speaker 1: And then the kid was at the party because he
- 1:59Speaker 1: was like friends with my friends, and so you like
- 2:01Speaker 1: went up to him and you were like testing him.
- 2:04Speaker 4: You were like you need to ask her out?
- 2:05Speaker 3: Who is the kid?
- 2:06Speaker 2: Hold on a second. First of all, you went so
- 2:10Speaker 2: I remember going to your apartment whatever. It was gross,
- 2:13Speaker 2: but I feel like you were nearer at school and
- 2:14Speaker 2: you were at home.
- 2:15Speaker 4: Yeah. I had a good apartment too, right, I.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Mean, I just remember we were so excited and so
- 2:22Speaker 2: but the first year you weren't in the sorority house.
- 2:25Speaker 3: But this is a sorority podcast.
- 2:26Speaker 2: So we'll talk about like when you were junior walking
- 2:30Speaker 2: into that sorority house and I remember from U T
- 2:35Speaker 2: the houses.
- 2:35Speaker 3: There were beautiful.
- 2:37Speaker 2: They were like gorgeous and with beautiful living rooms and
- 2:42Speaker 2: beautiful kitchens and then you know, I mean you shared
- 2:45Speaker 2: a room obviously, but given the shared space, and I
- 2:47Speaker 2: remember walking to the Alpha fet house you got a single, Yes,
- 2:51Speaker 2: you got very lucky, but it was still the size
- 2:53Speaker 2: of a closet.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Yeah right, Yeah, it was so small. It's like a
- 2:58Speaker 4: corner of her room.
- 3:00Speaker 2: And I remember like going, I just thought the gross
- 3:02Speaker 2: right next, Yeah, but you felt that was like your
- 3:06Speaker 2: favorite year, like living in the house.
- 3:08Speaker 4: I had all my friends on one floor.
- 3:10Speaker 3: It was yeah, but I remember thinking like it was nasty.
- 3:13Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 3:14Speaker 2: I did not think that house was nice, but whatever.
- 3:16Speaker 2: But okay, so did you clean up before we got
- 3:19Speaker 2: there or no?
- 3:20Speaker 3: Sophomore year, I don't know either.
- 3:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm sure I remember.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Doing laundry one year, like having to go to some
- 3:27Speaker 2: laundry mat in the middle of Newark, Delaware.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Yeah, that was at the sorority because sorority house. Because
- 3:34Speaker 4: it was so annoying to do laundry there you tooty
- 3:37Speaker 4: like sense.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember like going spending all this time in
- 3:41Speaker 2: a freaking laundry mat. But okay, so wait because this
- 3:44Speaker 2: is like the funny story, so that whatever. Guy. It was.
- 3:47Speaker 2: So we go to a frat party and all the
- 3:51Speaker 2: parents like think that they're in college again. I mean,
- 3:55Speaker 2: and I remembered it because of going to Zach's right,
- 3:58Speaker 2: going to like we all went to parents weekend, you know,
- 4:01Speaker 2: with Zach, with my son, your brother, so we kind
- 4:03Speaker 2: of knew about it.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Different school.
- 4:06Speaker 2: But like the frat parties at Delaware, it was like
- 4:10Speaker 2: that frat houses were gross. So they were all like
- 4:12Speaker 2: in the backyard and it was hard to get drinks,
- 4:15Speaker 2: and yet everyone was wasted. I remember just all of
- 4:19Speaker 2: the parents being wasted. Yeah, and I remember that poor boy.
- 4:23Speaker 4: No, you're getting the years mixed up.
- 4:25Speaker 1: But sophomore year, we were just at a house and
- 4:28Speaker 1: we were all like just with our friends. Junior year,
- 4:31Speaker 1: you got wasted, yes, and you were like going up
- 4:34Speaker 1: to all the boys I noticed though I was friends
- 4:37Speaker 1: with in the frats and like just I don't even know,
- 4:40Speaker 1: they all were looking at me like here, I was
- 4:43Speaker 1: like all right, time to go.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Didn't even make it to the bar.
- 4:47Speaker 2: No, that's not funny, that's not true, because that year
- 4:51Speaker 2: everyone I mean, I'm not saying whatever, but it was
- 4:53Speaker 2: kind of a thing because I was on the Housewives
- 4:54Speaker 2: at the time. Yeah, and so like there were like
- 4:58Speaker 2: a lot of the girls that wherever, the parents and
- 5:01Speaker 2: I had a lot to We were whatever, we were
- 5:03Speaker 2: all shooting the shit about it. I just remember one
- 5:06Speaker 2: boy that I was like, oh, you think you're too
- 5:10Speaker 2: good for my daughter? Yeah, but I was kidding. I
- 5:16Speaker 2: was totally kidding. I was like whatever.
- 5:18Speaker 3: I was hammered and I was like, just is that
- 5:21Speaker 3: what I was saying to him?
- 5:22Speaker 4: And I'm getting confused which one you're talking about.
- 5:25Speaker 2: It doesn't even matter because they all, honestly, all these
- 5:27Speaker 2: parents weekends kind of roll into each other.
- 5:29Speaker 3: But the one we're outside at that.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Frat house, and I was like, it was that one
- 5:34Speaker 2: boy you said, mom, he's like running away from you.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:38Speaker 4: No, that was junior year and you were just being insane.
- 5:41Speaker 3: What was I saying?
- 5:42Speaker 4: Damn, you were saying something about me.
- 5:44Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm not even like we're not like together
- 5:47Speaker 1: or even like kissing or anything.
- 5:49Speaker 4: Like, he's just my friend.
- 5:51Speaker 3: And I was like, I don't know why you think
- 5:54Speaker 3: what was I saying?
- 5:56Speaker 1: Damn, You're like just like something about me? Even that
- 6:01Speaker 1: would they talk about it for the rest of the year,
- 6:03Speaker 1: It's like, yep.
- 6:04Speaker 3: That's her. Yeah, but there it wasn't just me.
- 6:06Speaker 2: So I was with these other moms and the one
- 6:08Speaker 2: mom to talking about because they were always died, and
- 6:12Speaker 2: she's started to talk about vaginitis or do.
- 6:15Speaker 4: You remember that.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Your friend's mom?
- 6:19Speaker 2: And I don't even know how that word came up,
- 6:20Speaker 2: but she started saying that it's like a thing, and
- 6:23Speaker 2: then we just started using it in like every sentence,
- 6:26Speaker 2: and so like every girl we meet, but this mother
- 6:29Speaker 2: more than me, would be like, oh do you have
- 6:31Speaker 2: the vaginice or something like. It was so ridiculous, but okay,
- 6:38Speaker 2: but then I was done. I remember like, okay, time
- 6:42Speaker 2: to go home now, and you were like not having
- 6:45Speaker 2: it and you wanted us to go what was the
- 6:46Speaker 2: main bar, I guess because you were Grotto's And yeah,
- 6:51Speaker 2: I mean I go over there and there's like a
- 6:53Speaker 2: two hour line.
- 6:54Speaker 4: To get out senior year.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Yeah that was senior year.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Well, I'm glad you could keep track and there and
- 7:00Speaker 2: we're like, there's no freaking way that we were waiting
- 7:04Speaker 2: in this line.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Yeah, and you tried to go and like be like
- 7:08Speaker 4: I'll post it, and they were like who are you?
- 7:12Speaker 3: And Melissa Gorgo was there that one year.
- 7:14Speaker 1: She wasn't she wasn't going to that bar, but we
- 7:16Speaker 1: met her for like drinks.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Yeah, we met them, right, we met them for drinks,
- 7:20Speaker 2: but like they were outside the bar and like I remember,
- 7:23Speaker 2: we were with them and Joe was trying to talk
- 7:25Speaker 2: to someone about getting in.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Oh yeah maybe, but they weren't even going in with
- 7:29Speaker 1: Antonio because she couldn't even get in.
- 7:31Speaker 4: They were just going in to going right.
- 7:33Speaker 2: I mean, it's just completely ridiculously wild. It's all like
- 7:37Speaker 2: these old people like me pretending like we're back in college,
- 7:43Speaker 2: embarrassing our kids. Except like every year you still were
- 7:46Speaker 2: like so excited for me to come.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Yeah, it was so fun.
- 7:49Speaker 3: It was.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Remember when you and me and Dad and Zach did
- 7:52Speaker 2: the what is it called where you have like a
- 7:54Speaker 2: looks like a surfboard and you do the shots.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Oh yeah, like the shot ski thing.
- 7:59Speaker 3: It's it called this.
- 8:00Speaker 2: That's like our cutest picture that we took, like when
- 8:03Speaker 2: the four of us were doing that. Yeah, that was
- 8:05Speaker 2: that was so that was really fun, and like the
- 8:08Speaker 2: first night always is like go out to dinner with everyone, right.
- 8:12Speaker 4: Yeah, just I was like big dinner with your family.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Yeah yeah yeah.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Do you remember, like, I don't know, anything that was
- 8:21Speaker 2: crazy that I'm I mean, there had to be such
- 8:24Speaker 2: whacked out moments, right, I remember being like your parties
- 8:27Speaker 2: that you would throw in your apartment.
- 8:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I remember senior year, we were all on like the
- 8:33Speaker 1: same street and some of the parents stayed out like
- 8:37Speaker 1: late at night.
- 8:37Speaker 4: You guys were gone at this.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Point and they were like old men, like hitting the
- 8:40Speaker 1: bong like it was crazy, what's going on? Time to
- 8:44Speaker 1: go home?
- 8:46Speaker 2: I remember also, you had an ex boyfriend from freshman year.
- 8:50Speaker 2: We were just walking to some other frat house and
- 8:52Speaker 2: you saw him and you like started crying on the street.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Do you remember that?
- 8:58Speaker 4: Yeah? I think so, Like, get.
- 9:01Speaker 2: A grip, Okay, I did not drive here three hours.
- 9:04Speaker 2: If you hear to some old boyfriend from six months ago,
- 9:08Speaker 2: you're crying about him on the street because you happened
- 9:10Speaker 2: to see.
- 9:12Speaker 3: About some boy. You always crying about some boy.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I remember there was a girl that you had a
- 9:17Speaker 2: thing with, and I remember, like they like that girl
- 9:20Speaker 2: like lived across from.
- 9:21Speaker 1: You from the sorority house.
- 9:24Speaker 3: You won't mention any names. And I'm like walking up
- 9:26Speaker 3: down the street and like you, where is she? Where
- 9:28Speaker 3: is she?
- 9:29Speaker 4: Or you're just staring.
- 9:31Speaker 2: I was just staring at the house, waiting so I
- 9:33Speaker 2: can give her dirty looks.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Poor thing.
- 9:35Speaker 2: I was like mean to my daughter, where is she?
- 9:53Speaker 3: All right, you guys.
- 9:54Speaker 2: So now that we have kind of set the scene,
- 9:56Speaker 2: let's get into I'm serious why stories from our listeners.
- 10:01Speaker 2: So I'm just going to read a couple. There was
- 10:03Speaker 2: one girl in University of Arizona. She says, one time,
- 10:05Speaker 2: my roommate, who was a sorority sister, had her dad
- 10:07Speaker 2: come from parents weekend. He took an unknown drug from
- 10:11Speaker 2: a frat boy, and he was non stop puking and
- 10:13Speaker 2: hallucinating at our shared apartment toilet all night long, so
- 10:18Speaker 2: that you could never look at him the same after.
- 10:19Speaker 2: I want you to imagine Jeff Fessler, first of all, ever.
- 10:21Speaker 4: Taking Why are you doing that? People think they're in
- 10:27Speaker 4: college again. It's crazy.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Yeah, but you guys encouraged it.
- 10:31Speaker 4: Okay to take unknown drugs.
- 10:33Speaker 2: No, I've not had to take unknown drugs. We never
- 10:36Speaker 2: took unknown drugs. But I'm just saying, like I wanted
- 10:39Speaker 2: to go to bed. Yeah, I, me and your dad
- 10:41Speaker 2: probably less than I.
- 10:42Speaker 1: I was like that stigma to just like have your
- 10:45Speaker 1: parents out and get them drunk and it's fun.
- 10:47Speaker 4: And we do.
- 10:47Speaker 3: We got drunk.
- 10:48Speaker 2: But then by around you know, seven o'clock, I was like, okay, Rach,
- 10:52Speaker 2: done now, and you were like not having it.
- 10:55Speaker 4: You were probably like five o'clock.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Yeah, it was probably five o'clock, all right.
- 11:00Speaker 2: This other person wrote and said from San Diego State
- 11:03Speaker 2: sophomore year, one of the frats on our frat row,
- 11:06Speaker 2: which we call stacks, through a huge parents' weekend tailgate.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Everything started off totally normal.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Everyone was hanging out with their parents, walking around, drinking,
- 11:15Speaker 2: typical fun day. Out of nowhere, in the middle of
- 11:17Speaker 2: the crowd, this one girl's mom, probably in her fifties,
- 11:20Speaker 2: starts vomiting and literally collapsing.
- 11:23Speaker 3: She couldn't stand up at all, almost completely out of it.
- 11:26Speaker 3: It got chaotic. Really.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Three of the frat guys had to carry her downstairs
- 11:30Speaker 2: into one of the bedrooms. I want you to imagine
- 11:32Speaker 2: if I had done this to you, you think you
- 11:33Speaker 2: were embarrassed because I was like asking that guy or whatever.
- 11:37Speaker 2: I didn't live in the stacks, obviously it was the frats,
- 11:39Speaker 2: but I went downstairs to help. We had to take
- 11:40Speaker 2: care of this fully grown adult woman, getting her water,
- 11:43Speaker 2: making sure she was okay while she was completely obliterated
- 11:46Speaker 2: and still throwing up on herself. It was honestly insane
- 11:49Speaker 2: seeing someone's mom get that drunk in the middle of
- 11:51Speaker 2: parents weekend. Would you have I don't think we would
- 11:54Speaker 2: have ever spoken again.
- 11:55Speaker 4: Yeah, that's bad bad.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I mean, I like, I'm not with you, but I
- 11:58Speaker 1: could see that happening. Just how much the parents are
- 12:01Speaker 1: drinking all day.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Did you ever see anybody's parents did like after parents weekend?
- 12:05Speaker 2: Was anyone ever like I've never talked to my mom
- 12:07Speaker 2: or dad again?
- 12:09Speaker 4: No, not really.
- 12:10Speaker 1: No one really pushed it that overboard, and it was
- 12:13Speaker 1: just like all our parents were drunk, so it wasn't.
- 12:15Speaker 2: There was one weekend again these people will go unnamed,
- 12:18Speaker 2: where one of your friends got really wasted this parent's
- 12:22Speaker 2: weekend and went up to the bathroom of a frat
- 12:24Speaker 2: house and just became so hysterical crying. Oh yeah, and
- 12:28Speaker 2: that person's parents weren't they were they were waiting or
- 12:32Speaker 2: something at the tailgate and like she couldn't.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Get it together.
- 12:36Speaker 4: No, they were I think her dog, b oh maybe.
- 12:40Speaker 2: The dog right and they were waiting for her or something,
- 12:42Speaker 2: and I'm like, you guys, all you girls get out
- 12:45Speaker 2: of the bathroom right now.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Remember, like no, no, no, stop. Anybody was.
- 12:50Speaker 2: It was so dramatic and I had to like go
- 12:53Speaker 2: in and get you guys out. And I was like, honey,
- 12:55Speaker 2: stand up, we're leaving now, pull it together. I don't
- 12:58Speaker 2: want you to embarrass yourself in front of these idiot boys.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Get up.
- 13:02Speaker 2: We got her up, We got her out, we got
- 13:04Speaker 2: her into an uber. We took her to the to
- 13:08Speaker 2: the foot whatever, to the to the tailgate. Parents were
- 13:11Speaker 2: so funny, They're like, get this drama, queen. Okay, over whatever, Okay,
- 13:17Speaker 2: here's one Florida State. At Florida State, one of the
- 13:19Speaker 2: sororities had a parent's weekend and rented out a table
- 13:22Speaker 2: at a local bar for the night. Everyone was there
- 13:24Speaker 2: with their parents and it quickly turned into everyone getting
- 13:27Speaker 2: way too drunk together. At some point, the mom and
- 13:30Speaker 2: dad of the girl who rented the table were literally
- 13:32Speaker 2: making out.
- 13:33Speaker 3: At the table in front of everyone. Dad, the mom,
- 13:38Speaker 3: and the dad that is. It wasn't subtle either.
- 13:41Speaker 2: It was fully happening in the middle of the group
- 13:43Speaker 2: while all of us were just sitting there watching it
- 13:45Speaker 2: go down. It was one of those moments where you
- 13:47Speaker 2: don't even know where to look because it's so uncomfortable
- 13:50Speaker 2: but also kind of hilarious. Definitely not what anyone expected
- 13:53Speaker 2: from parents' weekend.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Have you ever seen that?
- 13:57Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 14:00Speaker 3: I want you to.
- 14:00Speaker 2: I'm sorry to keep going back to us, but I
- 14:01Speaker 2: want you to imagine me and your father.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Have you ever even seen this makeout?
- 14:08Speaker 2: Period?
- 14:10Speaker 1: No?
- 14:10Speaker 4: Can no make out?
- 14:13Speaker 3: Do you ever want to?
- 14:14Speaker 4: No?
- 14:15Speaker 3: No, you would not be for you.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Have you ever seen me make out? Would you want
- 14:19Speaker 4: to look at that?
- 14:20Speaker 2: I definitely would not want to see you make out.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Have I ever seen you make out? I mean I've
- 14:24Speaker 2: seen you with boys like No, No, you're right now.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Yeah, this is actually all making me so much better.
- 14:33Speaker 2: It should actually make you feel like I'm the coolest
- 14:35Speaker 2: because I never did any of this ship. Yeah, and
- 14:37Speaker 2: you always try to get me more drunk than I
- 14:39Speaker 2: even was. So yeah, all right, here's somebody at Boulder
- 14:43Speaker 2: at Mom's weekend sophomore year Bolder, we were all a
- 14:45Speaker 2: darty that started out pretty typical, music, drinks, everyone with
- 14:49Speaker 2: their moms, trying to keep it somewhat normal, but also
- 14:51Speaker 2: clearly not. As the day went on, things got progressively
- 14:53Speaker 2: more chaotic. People were getting way more drunk than expected,
- 14:56Speaker 2: including the parents. At one point in the middle of
- 14:58Speaker 2: the backyard with a full crowd around this one mom
- 15:01Speaker 2: somehow ended up dancing as one of the frat guys.
- 15:02Speaker 3: I don't even know if I want to keep reading this.
- 15:04Speaker 3: This is going this is going to.
- 15:06Speaker 4: A Yeah, it's like weird.
- 15:23Speaker 2: It started off as joking, everyone was laughing, but then
- 15:25Speaker 2: it escalated so fast. The next thing you know, she
- 15:27Speaker 2: is fully making out with him in the middle of
- 15:29Speaker 2: the darty, like full spin around, hands on him, not
- 15:35Speaker 2: even not even trying to hide it. Everyone is just staring,
- 15:40Speaker 2: some people cheering, others completely shocked, and her daughter is
- 15:43Speaker 2: nowhere to be found, which honestly made it even crazier.
- 15:45Speaker 2: It turned out, it turned into the main event of
- 15:48Speaker 2: the entire party. People were literally pulling out their phones
- 15:51Speaker 2: because no one could believe what they were watching. Easily
- 15:53Speaker 2: one of the most unhinged mom's weekends moments I.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Have ever seen.
- 15:58Speaker 4: That's absurd.
- 15:59Speaker 3: You've seen that online.
- 16:01Speaker 1: No, Like I feel like I even like when we
- 16:02Speaker 1: would go to the bar, like there's just like older
- 16:04Speaker 1: people like getting too close to like get it's like weird.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Like I remember you would say like some of the
- 16:11Speaker 2: bar is like there's like this old guy and he's
- 16:13Speaker 2: like hey, and you were like yeah, oh like you're fifty.
- 16:18Speaker 4: Yeah, so weird. Yeah, I would see that.
- 16:22Speaker 1: I feel like parents just like taking it too far
- 16:24Speaker 1: and getting a little too close to the frat boys.
- 16:28Speaker 2: That is so gross. I mean, are you feeling more
- 16:30Speaker 2: and more proud of me as this as this podcast
- 16:34Speaker 2: goes on?
- 16:34Speaker 4: Not like that, think of a like achievement.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Yay, make out with a frat boy.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Good job, You're sonoxious, You're so you're so rude. Still,
- 16:50Speaker 2: I'm just saying I wasn't as a bear. Wasn't that embarrassing?
- 16:54Speaker 1: All right?
- 16:55Speaker 2: Oh? This is UCLA Over Parents Weekend my freshman year.
- 16:57Speaker 2: I went to UCLA. Our stadium isn't on campus. We
- 17:00Speaker 2: played the Rose Bowl, which is about forty five minutes
- 17:02Speaker 2: hour and a half car ride. UCLA didn't really think
- 17:06Speaker 2: timing through with this game. Our Parents Weekend was a
- 17:08Speaker 2: football game on a Friday, night instead of a Saturday.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Before getting on the school buses to.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Go to the Rose Bowl, we had a big pregame
- 17:14Speaker 2: at a fraternity with all of our parents. Everyone had
- 17:16Speaker 2: a lot of beers Before the car ride. We ended
- 17:18Speaker 2: up getting stuck in prime LA rush hour traffic. We
- 17:21Speaker 2: were on the bus for two hours. Everyone had peace
- 17:23Speaker 2: so bad, so my dad bribed the bus driver to
- 17:25Speaker 2: let us pull over at some janky gas station by
- 17:28Speaker 2: the one oh one. The gas station didn't end up
- 17:30Speaker 2: having a bathroom, so about forty students and their parents
- 17:32Speaker 2: on this bus ended up crossing streams in an alley
- 17:34Speaker 2: off the one oh one. I think I got pee
- 17:36Speaker 2: all over my shoes and I'm not sure it was mine,
- 17:38Speaker 2: but the relief was worth it gross.
- 17:41Speaker 4: And yeah that's right.
- 17:42Speaker 1: I mean for our football games, like we were just
- 17:44Speaker 1: tailgate and then we would go.
- 17:46Speaker 4: Home all right.
- 17:47Speaker 2: USC Over Parents weekend, we did a crossover tailgate between
- 17:50Speaker 2: our so already in fraternity who were our best guy friends.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Every year, the frat with throw a pregame decked out
- 17:56Speaker 2: with decorations owned by a huge ice luge. It was
- 17:59Speaker 2: a super hot day. They didn't want the ice luge
- 18:01Speaker 2: to melt, so they kept it there. It was my
- 18:02Speaker 2: freshman year, my first parents weekend ever, and my dad
- 18:05Speaker 2: was the first person to use the ice luge after
- 18:07Speaker 2: I ended him on and the luge was so cold
- 18:10Speaker 2: that my dad got his tongue stuck to it. Personal
- 18:12Speaker 2: story style, Wait have you ever seen that movie where
- 18:16Speaker 2: his tongue stuck to the bowle? Oh, we had to
- 18:19Speaker 2: forget warm beer and peel it off. Poor guy came
- 18:22Speaker 2: all the way Wisconsin to la just to get his
- 18:24Speaker 2: tongue stuck on the ice luge. I feel like that's
- 18:28Speaker 2: so something that would happen to your father. Yeah, right,
- 18:33Speaker 2: Like he would be like, like we would push him
- 18:35Speaker 2: into it.
- 18:36Speaker 4: We made him do that thing, remember, oh yeah yeah.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Oh right, yeah what else do we make too?
- 18:47Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 18:48Speaker 2: Yeah, well Zach was and Zach was always the one
- 18:50Speaker 2: like pushing us even more than you to like do
- 18:52Speaker 2: the lose. That's a right, he did it. But we
- 18:55Speaker 2: always had to push your father into stuff. I could
- 18:57Speaker 2: just see him like, you have to do this, louge
- 18:59Speaker 2: getting it. That would be such a Jeff Fessler thing
- 19:02Speaker 2: to happen, right, and like the three of us behind
- 19:04Speaker 2: him dying laughing, Okay. University of Miami Ohio whenever our
- 19:11Speaker 2: parents would come into town to visit for a parents
- 19:13Speaker 2: week and our favorite frat band would play for all
- 19:15Speaker 2: the parents.
- 19:16Speaker 3: And put on a concert.
- 19:17Speaker 2: My mom's name is Caroline, so she got so drunk
- 19:20Speaker 2: that she ends up going on stage. I made all
- 19:22Speaker 2: the frat guys sing sweet Caroline, you would do that.
- 19:25Speaker 3: I would totally do that.
- 19:26Speaker 2: I swear she was so drunk I thought she was
- 19:27Speaker 2: going to start craft surfing. See, I think that's adorable.
- 19:31Speaker 2: One hundred percent. That's something I would do.
- 19:34Speaker 4: Yeah, definitely.
- 19:35Speaker 3: I mean I think I had, Like.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I had fun at those at your parents' weekends, probably
- 19:42Speaker 2: more than I did at college myself.
- 19:44Speaker 4: Probably more than just a normal and night out with
- 19:46Speaker 4: your friends. Right, It's probably obviously probably something Yeah, you
- 19:51Speaker 4: probably look forward to it.
- 19:53Speaker 2: I was also just fun to be there, like to
- 19:54Speaker 2: meet all your friends and like you're and the boys. Yeah,
- 19:58Speaker 2: I like to go into the house and like all
- 20:00Speaker 2: the boys you already told me about, like you pointing
- 20:02Speaker 2: them out who they were who, like you know, this
- 20:05Speaker 2: one did this, this one, this one whatever dissed me,
- 20:08Speaker 2: so i'd give them dirty looks of.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Those I know.
- 20:14Speaker 2: But I love parents. We ah, not that I ever
- 20:16Speaker 2: would want to do one again. But it was really fun.
- 20:19Speaker 2: You'll be doing they are fun n Antonia.
- 20:24Speaker 1: She brings her parents to them or whatever now and
- 20:26Speaker 1: they always like when Joe goes, they like do the thing.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:31Speaker 3: Oh, they hold your feet up and they go like
- 20:33Speaker 3: to the long thing.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:35Speaker 2: We only overlapped that one year, but it was really fun.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Like we had drank at that hotel or whatever. It
- 20:41Speaker 2: was like just so fun, like have you and Antonia there?
- 20:43Speaker 2: But I remember like Melissa and Joe getting completely mobbed.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Oh yeah, this one really that drunk mom.
- 20:51Speaker 4: Yeah, she wouldn't go away. We were like we got it.
- 20:54Speaker 2: She and it was like parents weekend trying to be
- 20:56Speaker 2: with the kids and she was just all over them.
- 20:58Speaker 3: There was like no escape.
- 21:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Listen, I mean, oh my god, those are the good
- 21:03Speaker 2: old days. I'm never gonna have one of those again
- 21:05Speaker 2: to grandparents ever.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Go.
- 21:07Speaker 4: I feel like that's pushy, but no for some people.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, now I'm not gonna want to Who
- 21:14Speaker 3: are we kidding? I never go it again, all.
