- 0:00Conservatives that are like, Oh my God, that's just like me.
- 0:03I wear a weird Plaid skirt with my stupid boyfriend.
- 0:07And so welcome gaspers to gasp.
- 0:22The pod, the podcast for the gays, the girls and especially
- 0:25the gay girls. Today we have a very special
- 0:28guest, someone that I've been trying to get on this pod, but
- 0:30our schedules have been conflicting for the last like 3
- 0:34months. So glad we're finally like
- 0:36recording it. Today we're going to be talking
- 0:38about Hedlers and Sydney and talking about how he became a
- 0:43Gaylord. We're going to talk about like
- 0:44Gaylord stuff, predictions that we think are going to happen,
- 0:46like after the iHeartRadio ghosting situation and just kind
- 0:51of doing like a catch up because the last few months have been
- 0:56eerily silent from Taylor. We'll talk about like what we
- 0:59think that means. Before we get into any topic or
- 1:03subject, I wanted to just do like a few little admin updates
- 1:07for the pod. First off, I have a bonus
- 1:10episode on the rumor mill that's on my Patreon and on Spotify.
- 1:15You just have to be a subscription member.
- 1:17So thank you for all my subscription members.
- 1:19And Speaking of, if you join as a number one Gasper, you get a
- 1:24shout out. So shout out to Jenny M Thank
- 1:27you so much for listening and being like the best person ever
- 1:30and being the best listener. Oh, also my merch that I'm going
- 1:34to tag in the show notes is 20% off because I'm trying to get
- 1:39rid of that shit and make some pride merch.
- 1:41Yeah, I think those are all my updates.
- 1:43I wanted to give Sydney the floor for a second and introduce
- 1:47himself, like, so you guys can follow his socialist etcetera,
- 1:50etcetera. But I know that I first saw
- 1:51Sydney's content, like, I think like October of this past year.
- 1:56And it was you like, maniacally laughing about like, Sabrina
- 1:59Carpenter, you know, her being gay.
- 2:01And you were like, Oh my God. I was like, OK, this is like one
- 2:04of the funniest people alive and I need to know him.
- 2:07So Cindy, introduce yourself. Thank you so much for joining
- 2:10the pod. OK, I see I have seen your
- 2:12content. Like the moment I had my Gaylord
- 2:14awakening. What's good everybody?
- 2:16My name is Cindy Baker Green. If you have not seen me on
- 2:19TikTok, my handle there is at Sydney B Green.
- 2:22You can also find me on Instagram.
- 2:24That's going to be at Sydney Baker Green and that's basically
- 2:27how you find me. If you just Google Sydney Baker
- 2:29Green all my socials should pop up and that's Sid in EY.
- 2:34Amazing. Sydney, tell me how you got into
- 2:37gaylorism. I'm interested because it
- 2:40happened kind of like middle of the tour, right?
- 2:43Yes, it happened after my show in LA.
- 2:47So I'm going to take you back to just how like my evolution
- 2:50through Taylor Swift, right? And I love that it's the podcast
- 2:53'cause I get to keep it real. I can say whatever words I want
- 2:55to say and I don't have to worry about like getting blocked.
- 2:57That's the whole benefit of a podcast.
- 3:00Oh my fucking God. And Hitler's today too, because
- 3:03we don't have to worry about like, framing it in a way so
- 3:06that they don't block our shit. Exactly.
- 3:09Let's take it back to like 2005. No, not 2005. 2007, late 2007,
- 3:15early 2008. I was in fifth grade and it was
- 3:18in choir. And these two girls who I could
- 3:21not stand, I guess Mariah's OK, but it's Tanner and Mariah.
- 3:24They would always do the duet and it was they would sing our
- 3:28song, right. But I finally went and listened
- 3:30to the song on my own and it kind of grew on me.
- 3:33Like I'm not a country person for the most part.
- 3:37Like I like Beyoncé's country, but that's just because it's
- 3:39giving me old Negro spiritual vibes and it connects me back to
- 3:42the roots. But I was listening to our song.
- 3:44I'm like, OK, I can kind of get down with this.
- 3:47And so that was the first song I heard.
- 3:48I think I listened to Love Story off of Fearless.
- 3:51For the most part, it was just the singles.
- 3:53I did not like Speak Now until after the era's tour.
- 3:56So crucify me if y'all want to, but now it's one of my favorite
- 3:59albums. Actually.
- 3:59Speak Now, Taylor's version. Love that.
- 4:02Then we go into Red. The singles for Red hit with me.
- 4:05I did not like the rest of Red for the most part because again,
- 4:07I'm not really a country person. 1989, it was this Polaroid and
- 4:11I'm like, OK, I like this. This is different.
- 4:14This is alternative. I was the very first album I'd
- 4:16listened to all the way through. It was the very first out of all
- 4:20the music I'd ever listened to. 1989 from start to finish was
- 4:23it. So I'm liking this.
- 4:25Our reputation comes out. I love it.
- 4:27Now, here's where things get interesting.
- 4:29Lover comes out. Now, if you remember, this is
- 4:32around the same time that all the companies started becoming
- 4:35black for Black History Month during February gave her pride
- 4:39Month. And it just felt very
- 4:40commercial. Yeah.
- 4:42My initial thought when Lover came out and I was listening
- 4:45like, Shay never made anybody less gay.
- 4:47And I was looking at the music video.
- 4:49I'm like, OK, Taylor, you have business.
- 4:50I see. Like, I don't know why you doing
- 4:52all this? This is kind of weird, like this
- 4:53weird energy, but whatever. I didn't look much past it
- 4:56because my experience as a black man is companies and celebrities
- 5:00are going to get their money, they're going to Co-op something
- 5:03and whatever, It's fun. Yeah, that makes sense.
- 5:05And so we get into the folklore and Evermore eras after that
- 5:09because the pandemic started. Didn't like Evermore.
- 5:11It's still not my favorite album and I know all the lesbians
- 5:14going to kill me for saying that.
- 5:17But they are going to kill you. They're.
- 5:18Going to kill me. I don't know.
- 5:20I know it's not necessarily for me to begin with anyway.
- 5:23There's some songs on there that I like.
- 5:24Of course, though, like the songs on the Errors tour set
- 5:26list. Those are my favorite on the
- 5:28album. I digress.
- 5:30Midnight's drops. And my first thought is, oh, OK,
- 5:34Taylor, we've stood up on our two feet.
- 5:36Now we're off our knees. We're not begging these men to,
- 5:39like, pay attention to us. We're who don't want to be
- 5:42married. You said it in lavender haze.
- 5:44You said it in midnight rain. Feels like you're in this
- 5:46healthy point where you've gone through therapy and now you're
- 5:48processing it. And you don't need validation
- 5:51from other people. Yeah, she's like, I'm grown and
- 5:54I'm not going to be begging for this guy to love me, but it did
- 5:59feel like all of that kind of went to shit and TV.
- 6:03We did in there and then she announced the concert, right?
- 6:06And my mom was like, Sydney, you should go to the concert.
- 6:09You really like Taylors music? I'm like, I don't do concerts
- 6:12like that. Mind you, the Airs tour was my
- 6:14first concert. I told her.
- 6:15I will let you. Yes, it was my very first
- 6:17concert ever, I told her. Oh my God, you're never gonna
- 6:22enjoy a concert again. She got me in the pre sale for
- 6:25the last night of Los Angeles. I didn't know anything about the
- 6:28Eras Tour. I didn't really watch much.
- 6:30I didn't know what it was going to be.
- 6:31I didn't even know the significance of Los Angeles.
- 6:34I was part of no clown theories. Always listen to Taylor's music
- 6:37and this is what really got me here.
- 6:39Through the lens of just like listening to what she's saying.
- 6:43We always respected her for her songwriting and her ability to
- 6:45tell a story. Let's point out me and you are
- 6:49at this concert together, unknowingly with Karlie Kloss.
- 6:54You know what, if I would have known what Gangler is, I would
- 6:57have showed my black ass so hard y'all wouldn't have been able to
- 6:59contain. I go to the concert and I was
- 7:02just like whoa, like the somebody gave me a friendship
- 7:05bracelet, which I still have an environment just felt so awesome
- 7:09and I just followed in love with the Eras tour.
- 7:12I came home and I'm listening to Maroon and all I hear is this,
- 7:15she says. The lips I used to call home.
- 7:17So scarlet it was. And I'm like, none of them know.
- 7:23Upper lip having white men that she's dated have scarlet red
- 7:25lips. Yeah, they're actually very
- 7:27pale. I'm like, huh, That's
- 7:30interesting, right? I see Travis Kelce's name start
- 7:34to appear. Is she trying to get herself
- 7:36cancelled to release? What I thought right?
- 7:39Overexposed. Like I was realizing it to begin
- 7:42with. Right.
- 7:43The article had just dropped about her and Beyoncé having the
- 7:46best tours. Taylor Swift was officially a
- 7:47billionaire and when that article talked about her being a
- 7:50billionaire it's like her limelight in the the the media
- 7:55like blew up after the 1989 Taylor's version.
- 7:58And like time, Person of the year.
- 8:00So she was getting all this media coverage.
- 8:02And so I thought the Travis Kelce thing was like, like, I
- 8:05off the bat, without even knowing about Gayler, I'm like,
- 8:08this is a stunt. So we continue to go through the
- 8:11Eras Tour and she like Travis Kelsey gets louder and louder.
- 8:14She does Karma is the guy on the Chiefs.
- 8:16And the entire time I'm just confused.
- 8:18So I'm like, if this was like my big moment, why would I ever tie
- 8:23it to somebody who I could break up with?
- 8:27It would mar the the moment for me if I let you in that quickly
- 8:32to something so big, to somebody so new into this equation so
- 8:35quickly and so boldly and so upfront, knowing the attention
- 8:38of the fans. I'm like, something still isn't
- 8:40semen right here. So this is when the wheels are
- 8:41turning. Shortly after that, TTPD drops.
- 8:46All I'm going off of is what the fans are saying.
- 8:48I'm not a gaylar yet. Not really.
- 8:50I'm associating with the fandom a little because I just want
- 8:52reputation. That's my album.
- 8:54And then the era's tour came back in Europe with the TTPD
- 8:58set, and when the I Can Do It with a Broken Heart came on,
- 9:01those men picked her up in suits, stripped her down and
- 9:04forced her to perform. I'm just like seeing that even
- 9:06General Sookie were like, that's so sad that she was feeling like
- 9:09she had to do all that came out in the lesbian bodysuit.
- 9:12Now you're seeing Gaylord content.
- 9:15I've seen game of content, but I don't know it's game of content
- 9:17because all of y'all were cryptic and scared that y'all
- 9:19were going to get hate card with the comments.
- 9:21So nobody was saying the loud part, the quiet part out loud.
- 9:24I was struggling in the comments.
- 9:25I'm like OK, So what does this mean?
- 9:27And somebody commented if you don't know that you don't need
- 9:29to know. And I'm like what?
- 9:31Wait, you're just. I want to know like I want to
- 9:33know. She comes out in that lesbian
- 9:35bodysuit and my friend Sarah texts me, I love Sarah to death,
- 9:39she says, not Taylor Swift coming out in the lesbian
- 9:41bodysuit. And I said, girl, you tripping
- 9:44you what you on like whatever. About a day or three later,
- 9:47after watching a couple more shows, I sat with that and I
- 9:51literally said to myself, how many other times have you done
- 9:55the same thing where you just kind of brush off that with
- 9:57Taylor Swift? Yeah, and you're like.
- 9:59My brain immediately went back to how you get the girl because
- 10:02I remember hearing that song in 2014 and being like, oh, she's
- 10:05singing this from the man's perspective.
- 10:06And I just asked myself, what if she wasn't?
- 10:09Oh, wait, you also did this with the Lover era.
- 10:11When I went back and watched me and when I kind of just looked
- 10:16at it and started doing more research on it, I'm like, wait a
- 10:20minute, no, this, this, all this makes a lot more sense now.
- 10:23I would just listen to songs and I would hear the things.
- 10:25I'm like, that ain't straight, That ain't straight.
- 10:29That ain't straight either. You once you like have that
- 10:33perspective in your head when you're reading her lyrics or
- 10:36listening to it, it changes everything.
- 10:39And it's because it's so crazy because like it seems so obvious
- 10:45with that perspective in your mind going back and listening to
- 10:48it. But like, if you are not
- 10:50thinking she could be gay, you know what I mean?
- 10:53You you could make excuses for everything, but how many things
- 10:57can add up before it's just an entire story about her
- 11:01sexuality? Exactly, but even when she had
- 11:04came out with it's nice to have a friend in Dorothea, I remember
- 11:07like, Oh my, all the gaylors are freaking out and I just started
- 11:10freaking out because I'm like, oh, crowd freak out.
- 11:11We're going to freak out real quick, even though I learned so
- 11:14many things by uncle being a Gayl.
- 11:16And then I'm like, Oh, you did that with that doing that, like
- 11:19everything started to just the domino skated in a line for me.
- 11:23But when she two things happened when she did Travis Kelsey on
- 11:28stage, when she brought him on stage, I was like, oh, snap,
- 11:32this is some this has to do something with reputation,
- 11:35because you look at I did something bad.
- 11:38The song everybody was clowning for and it really does fit
- 11:40Travis Kelsey perfectly. Like his ex girlfriends call him
- 11:43a narcissist. The NFL people in the NFL call
- 11:46him a narcissist. It's not something taboo to say.
- 11:49Like don't get mad at me, get mad at barstools and everybody
- 11:52else and all the NFL tabloids saying he needs to be suspended
- 11:55for his behavior. I don't know how you can yell at
- 11:57an old man on national TV in the Super Bowl, scare him, and
- 12:00people not think bad things about you.
- 12:02But apparently everybody's a bootlicker and they're weak in
- 12:03the knees and they'll defend things because they want to.
- 12:05It is. Filed the crowd dismissal of all
- 12:10of these things that Travis Kelsey have done that's has done
- 12:14that's more than an ick that is all of these microaggressions.
- 12:18It's like, OK, so you're going to be like you're happy that
- 12:20Trump is there. You're going to scream at your
- 12:23coaches face. You're going to express all of
- 12:25these anger issue problems. And as you said, it is really
- 12:29lining up to be like Tom Hiddleston, this overexposure
- 12:35character that all of a sudden she meets him one month later,
- 12:38she's meeting his mom. She's going on this worldwide
- 12:40tour around Europe very similar to her heirs to her with Travis
- 12:45and boom, reputation comes out. You did something bad.
- 12:47You broke up with him. I totally agree.
- 12:50It lines up for her to break up with him.
- 12:53No 100% and I think I can't get over Trump comment because that
- 13:00was like y'all you have a right to think what you want to think
- 13:04but realistically pick a side right?
- 13:06Because you can't sit here, look at Reputation Stadium Tour and
- 13:10see how Taylor Swift was very emotional about her sexual
- 13:13assault and being believed, right?
- 13:16Right. And to then go around and be
- 13:19like her boyfriend had to say her boyfriend had to say this
- 13:24because his owners like Trump and whatever and this is his job
- 13:28and whatnot. When this is literally the
- 13:30person that has attacked you, sicked his mob of half a million
- 13:34Americans on you. And then after that mean all you
- 13:37swifties look like fools because she got booed at the stadium.
- 13:40And then he goes and double S down on his tweet and all of
- 13:43y'all are like. There is.
- 13:44There's definitely PR involved in the NFL.
- 13:47Whatever it is, you do not have to say you are happy Trump is
- 13:52attending the game. What you can say is no comment.
- 13:56I don't care who's in the stands.
- 13:58I'm just excited to play and have my family there.
- 14:01It is ridiculous how they are defending that.
- 14:04He says he's excited and happy. I forget what word he used, but
- 14:08along those lines. They honor.
- 14:09One word that is bizarre. You would think they're they
- 14:13Hitler's like like we can segue into Hitler's now.
- 14:16You would think because they're so hell bent on defending Taylor
- 14:20Swift from anything and being like that's disgusting.
- 14:22That's an appropriate stop talking about her, whatever.
- 14:25But right when it comes to someone actually talking about
- 14:28her bully, regardless of politics, her bully, it's what
- 14:33is he supposed to do? Defend her?
- 14:36What? The same way y'all be coming for
- 14:39our throats on the Internet. Defend her.
- 14:41Yeah, for real. The enemy, not Trump.
- 14:45Exactly. Yeah, they they become to with
- 14:49us harmless queers thinking she's queer.
- 14:54That is not even close to the energy they bring towards
- 14:57conservatives or people like talking about her in like the a
- 15:01gross sexual way that gaylors never talk about.
- 15:05And that's where, really, the Gaylord awakening kept getting
- 15:09stronger too. Because, and this is where we
- 15:12get into the era of me cussing people out.
- 15:15Yes. And this is when we started
- 15:17having phone calls because I would get a text message being
- 15:20like, can I call you one second? And I'm like, hell yes.
- 15:23First time we talked I can't I remember you texted me on
- 15:26TikTok. You messed me on TikTok and I
- 15:28gave you my number because I barely look at DMS. I can't even
- 15:30remember what the 1st. Conversation.
- 15:31I don't know, but then you. But then we called and we we
- 15:35were talking about like reputation for like an hour and
- 15:38we were talking about how fucking disgusting hetlers can
- 15:41be with their sexual innuendos being like truth dare, Yeah.
- 15:49Truth Dare, Scouts Honor, and I think we come at Gaylord saying
- 15:53that we were sexualizing her, failing to realize that they're
- 15:55just illiterate and if they have a problem with that, not that
- 15:59they know what that word necessarily means.
- 16:01The the issue here is that sexualization isn't saying I'm
- 16:05listening to Taylor Swift's lyrics and that she she could be
- 16:09queer. Sexualization if they couldn't
- 16:10get it was what Joe Coy did when not Joe Coy when Joe Coy made
- 16:15that joke about Taylor Swift being on the TV on the NFL and
- 16:19like, you know, she made that scowl at the Golden Globe that
- 16:23LA newscaster unnecessarily brought up the fact that this
- 16:26was an argument that her and Taylor that her and Travis Kelce
- 16:29had in the bedroom. That right there sexualization.
- 16:32You made a situation sexual when it didn't need to be sexual,
- 16:36saying double standard that you would have there when you would
- 16:39watch, you know, tik toks get 300,000 likes because Travis
- 16:44Kelce has big hands. They'd be like what in the
- 16:46scouts honor? And I want to pull up the
- 16:48receipts with this too because I got all the screenshots on my
- 16:50phone but I'm just like y'all don't be.
- 16:52You realize this play is about you.
- 16:55You there's this idea that Taylor Swift has said she's
- 16:58straight multiple times. Lie to Taylor Swift has said
- 17:04that she doesn't like gaylors Not true what she had.
- 17:07What has she said? She has said stop talking about
- 17:11me getting married, which they do consistently and then two
- 17:16like I am more than a one night. So she in that same sentence,
- 17:21she's saying don't be be obsessed with like me getting
- 17:24married and then also stop sexualizing me.
- 17:27And she's been very outspoken about like I'm an independent
- 17:30woman, like I'm more than my relationship, whatever.
- 17:33And yet the fans that are coming at us, they're the ones being
- 17:37called in. They're the Sarahs and the
- 17:38Hannahs and the Sunday Best and the ones sexualizing them at the
- 17:41same time. And that's where I got to the
- 17:43point where I'm like, TTPD is about the fans, but then I'm
- 17:45also like, who do y'all think Lavender Haze is about?
- 17:48Because you're the only person that cares about Taylor Swift in
- 17:51her relationship. Swifties the rest of the world
- 17:54do not give. Anyway, whole point is is that
- 17:58when you look at those songs, like she's obviously talking
- 18:01about her fandom. Why does she say he wanted a
- 18:05bride? I was making my own name.
- 18:07I guess sometimes we all get just what we wanted.
- 18:10She doesn't want to be a bride. Want to be a bride?
- 18:13Why was she turning down marriage proposals and champagne
- 18:15problems but then in less than a year want to get married and run
- 18:20off with Travis Kelsey and have baby everything like that?
- 18:24Like if all of this is true, like they're saying, like she
- 18:26wants marriage so desperately, which she has repeatedly said
- 18:29she does not, why wouldn't she have like taken Joe Allen on a
- 18:36red carpet? Like why hasn't he taken Travis
- 18:38Kelsey on a red carpet? Why hasn't she taken anyone on a
- 18:41red carpet? She will be in public with these
- 18:44people, but not when it like comes to her own like work.
- 18:49Like why is Travis Halsey not an award show?
- 18:52They won't answer that question. And that brings us to
- 18:54iHeartRadio Music Awards, which would be comical if she even
- 18:57like had a red carpet debut with him at the iHeartRadio Music
- 19:00Awards, which is just hilarious. And I literally had someone in
- 19:03my comment section be like, where else would she have
- 19:08debuted him? I'm like every like any other
- 19:12award show that she's been to in the last two years, which is
- 19:15pretty much all of them all the in the last two years and she's
- 19:18been dating Travis Kelsey for two years.
- 19:19He doesn't have practice every single goddamn day.
- 19:21So it's like there's a reason why she's being public with him
- 19:25in the ways that benefit her. He doesn't want him to be in a
- 19:28red carpet picture with her. With respect to the iHeartRadio
- 19:31Awards, that was intentional, that was purposeful, that was a
- 19:35message, and it was the same message.
- 19:37I think the reason why a lot of gaylords get excited was because
- 19:40it's the same message that happened at the Heiress tour
- 19:43with the surprise song set, and you look at all of the stuff
- 19:46that was leading up to that by big creators talking about.
- 19:49This is why I think she's going to debut him at the red carpet.
- 19:52This is why I think that that, you know, reputation or debut is
- 19:56coming like they were clowning for all these things.
- 19:58They hyped it. She didn't just not release it.
- 20:01She she didn't show up. And the ghosting aspect is
- 20:05something that gaylors have been saying.
- 20:07We're waiting for the ghosting to happen now.
- 20:10The ghosting could have happened with many different people.
- 20:12It could have happened because she kept the Prince or she
- 20:14ghosted the Prince, but kept the cast cast that was burning down.
- 20:17So she could have ghosted the Prince.
- 20:19Or it could also be that the Prince in this case was
- 20:22necessary was the fandom as well, and that.
- 20:24She boasted them and stopped giving them everything.
- 20:27And pretty much after she won the talent show of the Arvis
- 20:30Tour and did the Super Bowl stuff.
- 20:32You ain't heard nothing from her.
- 20:33You ain't You've gotten a couple of things here.
- 20:35You've gotten a couple of murder drops.
- 20:36She's taking your money, but she hasn't really said hi to you.
- 20:39She she's hosting the. Fans.
- 20:41So she does that, she goes and then she gives them a song to
- 20:45where basically she could have introduced it with this is a
- 20:48song about how much it sucks to be famous.
- 20:50It's a repeat of the same story that she's told on the Eras
- 20:53Tour, which is you're only seeing exactly what you want to
- 20:57see from me. It's the loudest that I'm just
- 20:59giving you the fairy tale, the straight fan fiction that you
- 21:02want it for so long, but the end is near.
- 21:06Show you what you want. I can show you your dream and
- 21:10your fairy tale. I can show you lies.
- 21:13And this is a cycle that's been going on continuously.
- 21:17And then she showed it in Mirror Ball.
- 21:19It's so random and like it's, it's funny because straight
- 21:23Swifties and beyond straight Swifties headlers are so focused
- 21:27on this idea that like she's talking about the fans.
- 21:30Sometimes they've caught on to this idea.
- 21:32They're like, oh, she's talking about the fans, but they don't
- 21:34realize the fucking play is about them.
- 21:36It's not like, thank you, but this is hard.
- 21:39It's you're ruining my life. Oh, exactly?
- 21:42Yeah. And she was like the heiress to
- 21:45her is the hardest thing I've ever done beyond hard work.
- 21:48I think it's because she was playing this person that wasn't
- 21:52her, and she's getting tired of having to put on the play of a
- 21:58whole other person. They're like, oh, I'm sure she's
- 22:01tired. And it's like, Oh my God, she's
- 22:03tired of like your brain rot. She can be thankful for her
- 22:07fans. She can be thankful and love
- 22:09them for what they've allowed her to have and at the same time
- 22:13be like fame is ruining me. The front that I have to put on
- 22:18to keep this level is ruining me.
- 22:20The front that I've had to put on to get here.
- 22:23The biting of my tongue. The not being who I truly want
- 22:25to be. This carefully curated image to
- 22:28keep you coming back for more. To keep you wanting more music,
- 22:31which is basically heart breaks of my life to keep feeding you
- 22:35that. Yeah, is like hurt herself in
- 22:39order to keep the level of fame. And that's what I've always
- 22:43thought that the errors to her and her doing all these re
- 22:47records. I and I still kind of feel this
- 22:50way, but also I kind of feel like I'm still have no idea what
- 22:53she's going to do next, but I feel like she's on her last
- 22:57hurrah of of Taylor Swift, corporate Taylor Swift.
- 23:02She's like I'm going to re record all my albums.
- 23:04I'm going to do this final eras to her.
- 23:06I'm going to do the final fairy tale romance, the the completion
- 23:11of what everyone wanted from me. And if you go back and watch
- 23:15Miss Americana, I don't understand if people don't get
- 23:17it. But like, she's very clearly
- 23:19being like, I only have a few more years left to do, like be
- 23:24at the peak. She's very focused on success,
- 23:26too. And I think she knows she can
- 23:28only be at the peak if she is this corporate Taylor Swift.
- 23:32And I think that she's trying to do everything she can, savor the
- 23:36moment and hopefully let go of what corporate Taylor Swift is
- 23:41and like, be herself. Question mark.
- 23:44And I feel like I'm getting that from mirror ball too, because
- 23:46it's like when the circus comes down, when even when the air is
- 23:49tour is over, she's still kind of in this phase where she still
- 23:54has to please the fans. And it's not just a performance
- 23:57on stage, it's a performance of like her image.
- 24:01Fans will be like, well, why would she lie to us?
- 24:03And I question that word lie, OK, Don't look at it like lying.
- 24:07If you're somebody watching this who doesn't like gaylorism.
- 24:09I think we all agree Taylor Sote has an amazing publicist tree
- 24:12pain, right? We agree with that, right?
- 24:15And we know people, Swift manages her image very well,
- 24:19right? They know that Tree Pain is an
- 24:22amazing publicist, but in the same breath they will say why
- 24:25does she need PR? So I think the problem is that
- 24:27people see her as a personal brand and not a corporate brand.
- 24:31So would you say Taylor Swift acts more like Charlie D'amelio
- 24:37or would you say she acts more like Tide?
- 24:42Right. Right.
- 24:43Who do you think? Great comparison.
- 24:45When you look at that aspect, it's like, OK, now you can
- 24:48realize what she's doing is marketing to you.
- 24:50In the same way that Tide has their target audience of
- 24:55suburban white soccer moms with two kids who drive a van.
- 24:59When their kids play sports and they get grass stains on their
- 25:01shirt, what type of music do they want to hear?
- 25:04Yes, she's changed her sound, but her stories are the same.
- 25:09Even in her searing, songs that I do think are very searing but
- 25:14are the ones that are more marketable are like I did
- 25:17Something bad. And kind of like these
- 25:20Midnight's Karma songs, they're still within a box of reason
- 25:25where if you're conservative or a little bit more traditional,
- 25:29you could be OK with that. The songs that she's really
- 25:33having these deep criticisms where I feel like you're able to
- 25:36kind of like understand her brain a lot more.
- 25:39They're like Cassandra and like the prophecy and like some
- 25:45folklore stuff where aren't getting as much attention.
- 25:49They're like kind of hidden. And these are the songs that are
- 25:52like. Family, the pure greed, The
- 25:53Christian chorus line. And no one listens to that song.
- 25:57I do, but like, they're not fucking listening to that.
- 26:00And I want a whole album of her being so fucking for real.
- 26:04And I feel like she's slowly starting to maybe incorporate
- 26:07some more honesty her ending the errors to her on not this like
- 26:13corporate high note. Everyone's going to drag me for
- 26:16that and be like, how dare you criticize the her last night of
- 26:20the errors to her, whatever. It's not criticizing, but you
- 26:24can tell she was done. I was in Vancouver for the last
- 26:27night. It did not hit like LA and it
- 26:29didn't hit like the last night in London.
- 26:30Anyway, the whole point was that that that show just was like, it
- 26:33was nice to be in the stadium. It was nice to hear the music,
- 26:36but you could definitely just feel like it was.
- 26:39She did all the same outfits. She threw off everybody's
- 26:42theories for the most part. If you were clowning for certain
- 26:45things, she threw off the Gaylord theory.
- 26:46She threw it all and it was just kind of like, I'm done.
- 26:49Let me get on my jet, let me look like I'm going to Kansas
- 26:52City, which I thought was like girls stand up.
- 26:54But like the just the whole thing just kind of felt very
- 26:58anticlimactic. And I'm not mad about it.
- 27:00I was very happy to be there. I'm happy a lot more people got
- 27:03to to to also let she opened up the stadium.
- 27:05And I think in that regard, that's what makes it like, you
- 27:08know, it's for her. She's like, I don't want to hear
- 27:11any more of these theories. And then in this celebration,
- 27:14this award of Bass Tour of the Century was her kind of being
- 27:19like, this is this was so hard and I didn't think I could do
- 27:22it. I think it's giving an
- 27:24interesting reflection now looking back on it on like, is
- 27:28this the fairy tale? Because when Hetlers hear her
- 27:32say, I can, I can show you lies. They think that's only when she
- 27:36was going through a breakup with Joe Allman.
- 27:38They think that after that she was in pure bliss with Travis
- 27:42Kelsey on the Heiress tour. She is saying to us the whole
- 27:46Heiress tour was incredibly difficult and I think it's
- 27:50beyond just her like physical. I mean, obviously it was very
- 27:54physical to her, but it's like an emotional roller coaster of
- 27:59her and she has to consistently feed people and give them what
- 28:03they want on all ends of the spectrum.
- 28:05She shut off her emotions. She on something else.
- 28:09She got into character and gave the fans a show.
- 28:12She gave pieces of herself so that people can have a good
- 28:15time. So like after we heard from her
- 28:18last week, talking about mirror ball and talking about heiress
- 28:20to her, some people were saying like, I think she's going to
- 28:23release reputation soon. She had the snake necklace.
- 28:26What do you think is going to happen next?
- 28:28Do you think she's going to continue to ghost us?
- 28:30Do you think that she's going to continue to not have face
- 28:33pictures of her and Travis together?
- 28:35Like what are your predictions? You want to know what I want?
- 28:38I want to know what you want and I want to know what you think.
- 28:41I want her to never give them reputation.
- 28:43I don't want them to ever give. I don't want to give them baby.
- 28:45I'm OK with her declassifying it.
- 28:48In 50 years, what do I think will happen?
- 28:50Everybody's starving right now. The media is starving for Taylor
- 28:54and Travis stories, the fans are starving for their Tavis
- 28:58content. And I think everybody has a lot
- 29:01of expectations and people are getting tired.
- 29:05And I think the longer they go without hearing from Taylor and
- 29:09seeing or getting any music or anything like that, I think the
- 29:13harder a breakup will land. Because listen, I'm going to be
- 29:18honest with you and I don't care what these Swifties want to say.
- 29:21Anything else like that? Travis Kelsey has a type and
- 29:24Taylor Swift has a type. And I'm not trying to be that
- 29:27person. They can crucify me if they want
- 29:29to. Travis Kelsey likes chocolate.
- 29:32All he's ever dated was chocolate, that's all.
- 29:35If he likes women. That's what I'm just saying.
- 29:39That's always been kind of my mindset.
- 29:40If people want to get mad at people saying that, they can get
- 29:42mad at people saying that. I think that it's really hard to
- 29:45look past that gold rose though at the Super Bowl because in the
- 29:49sharing of clothes. But let's just let's just keep
- 29:51it PG for for the people who are already probably offended by a
- 29:54lot of the things that I've said.
- 29:55No one's going to be offended because no one's listening to
- 29:58this that doesn't already probably think that Ross and
- 30:01Travis are dating. I totally see her dragging on
- 30:06the reputation thing for so long because I feel like that's the
- 30:09only thing that Hitler's and Swifties think about right now.
- 30:13And I am a number one reputation stand.
- 30:16Like it hit me when I was a sophomore in college.
- 30:20It was like my self-proclaimed like Batty era.
- 30:23I was like so obsessed. It's like my personality like it
- 30:26became my everything. So don't get me wrong viewers
- 30:29when I say like I love reputation.
- 30:31I would be OK if it's dragged on longer because I feel like
- 30:35that's the only thing Swifties are asking for right now and she
- 30:39likes to not give people what they want sometimes.
- 30:42It's like Taylor Swift is more than just reputation also and I
- 30:46feel like they condense her down to the next album they want.
- 30:50A lot of people think Debut was coming 1st, and I kind of pushed
- 30:52back on that because like Taylor Swift's about her money and she
- 30:55wants to be commercially successful.
- 30:57I think that she's going to release reputation because the
- 30:59vault tracks to fire. I think that's going to burn it
- 31:01all down. I think that's the facade.
- 31:02And then you got to ask the question, do you still want me,
- 31:05Taylor Swift? Taylor's version?
- 31:06Do you still want me, man? Love love.
- 31:10I like debut coming last. I I love that idea because it
- 31:14honestly, I was thinking and I think all a lot of gaylors agree
- 31:18on this sentiment that you just said Rep vault tracks are going
- 31:22to be some of her gayest and best tracks that she's ever
- 31:25written. We know this because this there
- 31:28was a longer time in between 1989 and reputation.
- 31:31There's more time for her to make music.
- 31:32Maybe she took some of the karma and put them into Rep vault
- 31:35tracks. This is also when she's
- 31:37supposedly dating Karlie Kloss, etcetera, etcetera.
- 31:39I was under the assumption that if she releases that, that she's
- 31:42going to release all these fans. So like there's no point of like
- 31:45releasing anything else. So debut has to come first.
- 31:47But I love the idea that it's testing if people are still with
- 31:52her and her true self, like her first album, her innocence, her
- 31:59like childhood after she burns it down with reputation and.
- 32:04When you go back and look at it, if the reputation vault tracks
- 32:07turn out to not just be loud and gayest, but just actually
- 32:10straight up come down, say it and burn down the facade, right?
- 32:14I go back to Guilty as Sin where she says my bed sheets were
- 32:17ablaze. She's been using this fire in
- 32:20the dream. She was using it with Wildest
- 32:22Dreams. That kind of led into the Easter
- 32:24eggs with TTPD. I think that TTPD was the litmus
- 32:28test where it's like, if you're listening, then you're
- 32:31listening. This is the morning warning,
- 32:33right? That no one heard TTPD?
- 32:36Was it because I cannot make any of those songs about a man?
- 32:39When some of the stuff goes back to Red, it's funny.
- 32:41Everybody was like, oh, mother was mad at us with this album
- 32:44and then they forgot it when they could figure out a man to
- 32:46point it to. All you want is Grey from me.
- 32:49When she did her National Boyfriend Day collection, it was
- 32:52Grey. It was, it was all the merch
- 32:54that you had before all the stuff y'all probably buy,
- 32:57bought. And she's like, by the way, here
- 32:59it's here it is in Gray. You think I'm happy?
- 33:01You're expecting this love album.
- 33:02What did I give you? I'm telling you I'm sad.
- 33:05I'm mad at you. I'm black and white.
- 33:07I'm in beige graze. I have no color.
- 33:11The colors out of her face, she is feeling no joy.
- 33:15And they're like she's the happiest she's ever been.
- 33:18It's psychotic. I feel like she's stuck in this
- 33:22cycle of constantly creating another era of herself.
- 33:27And I feel like Mirror Ball is showing that too, where she's
- 33:30still constantly showing new facets of herself, like AKA eras
- 33:35of herself that people can relate to.
- 33:38And I feel like she's on this wheel and she needs to just jump
- 33:42off completely and like no more eras and just like her.
- 33:48Eating into grey. The air.
- 33:51Is into Gray and I'm going to get someone back.
- 33:54These eras have to fade into Gray because I'm getting someone
- 33:59back. I have to let these eras go to
- 34:02get you back. Like she can't be and get what
- 34:06she needs in this cycle and like Cage that she's in.
- 34:11The other thing that I think we were talking about that we
- 34:13completely forgot we were talking about like 30 minutes
- 34:17ago was I can show you lies. And we're talking about how
- 34:21Hitler's are very scared about this idea that she's lying to,
- 34:24to to them. They're like, well, she would
- 34:27never lie to us, even though she's saying I can show you
- 34:31lies. But I think that's a really
- 34:33interesting like you were saying, like, what is the
- 34:35definition of like lie? Is it really that bad of a
- 34:38thing? We need to remember we don't
- 34:41really know her. And what does lying mean?
- 34:46Like queer people lie all the time.
- 34:48I. Want to take that a little bit
- 34:50deeper because I'm willing to make it something bad because
- 34:53she's told you Mastermind was the laying of the foundation for
- 34:58that and then she just comes out and straight up and says it.
- 35:02Now, if the fans we all agree, right?
- 35:05Gaylor or whatnot. Mastermind is a song about the
- 35:07fans. And what does she use to
- 35:09describe to herself? She says, no one want to play
- 35:12with me as a little kid. So I've been scheming like a
- 35:16criminal ever since to make them love me, to make it seem
- 35:19effortless. Who is them?
- 35:20The fans. Them is the fans.
- 35:22She's been scheming to make you love her.
- 35:27And that was the first time that she felt the need to confess.
- 35:29And then she says I'm only cryptic and Machiavellian
- 35:32because I care. She's been telling you to get
- 35:35her dictionary. Your dictionary.
- 35:37Machiavellian is someone who is cunning, manipulative, and
- 35:42willing to use any means necessary to achieve their
- 35:47goals. OK So what do you think she
- 35:48knows about this word? Cunning and manipulative.
- 35:50They're skilled at influencing others and using them to their
- 35:54advantage. self-interest. They prioritize their own goals
- 35:57and interest above everyone else.
- 35:59And strategic. They are good at planning and
- 36:02executing long term strategies to gain power.
- 36:04The Machiavellian leader will climb that ladder quickly.
- 36:08But you burned all your bridges just to get she goes on to I can
- 36:12show you lies. It's not about she's not that
- 36:15down bad about Maddie Healey girl.
- 36:17He's been breaking up with men since I was in fifth grade.
- 36:20She describes these men. This is one of the things that
- 36:22you kind of brought up with. I did something bad.
- 36:24Let's talk about hits different. Let's talk about my boy only
- 36:27breaks his favorite toys. How does she describe men as
- 36:31dolls, as kins, as playthings for her to?
- 36:34You she is trying to get Swifties to think that she's the
- 36:40victim and she's playing everyone.
- 36:43She is not the victim anymore and just because she's like sad
- 36:47and TTPD doesn't mean that she's this like child.
- 36:52Like you said, she's Machiavellian, she's cunning,
- 36:53she's manipulating people. Do we really think that she went
- 36:58from reputation and how she's talking about men and several
- 37:03albums later there's an entire TTPD about Maddie Healy, This
- 37:07guy, she had a one month situation ship that destroyed
- 37:09her so bad. Like she's kind of using this
- 37:12like a power grab. That's why I think, listen, I
- 37:15don't know what happened that maybe she couldn't come out in
- 37:17some other like twist of fate of lover or her management or
- 37:23fucking Scott Borchetta, Scooter Braun, who knows.
- 37:25But I think we're missing a huge point here.
- 37:28Not us, but other people that like she is playing a straight
- 37:33Taylor Swift character to be the most powerful person in the
- 37:35world and she's using this as the last shot she can.
- 37:39This is the only way she can be as successful as she can as she
- 37:42is. One of the things that you know,
- 37:45manipulative and deceitful. One of the things that that's
- 37:48able to do is she knows her target audience so well.
- 37:51And I am I got to say this with love to any Hitler out there
- 37:55who's watching this. Taylor Swift is not you.
- 37:57Like if you continue to identify your grown ass adult
- 38:03relationships with Taylor Swift lyrics baby, you are the
- 38:06problem. Like I said, she uses these men.
- 38:09Like you were just saying about manipulating her fans.
- 38:12What is the number one thing we hear when news anchors or
- 38:17anyone's talking about Taylor Stone, how iconic she is or
- 38:19reporters or anything like that, What is an important thing they
- 38:22say? She is so successful because she
- 38:25is relatable and people relate to her lyrics.
- 38:29Everyone's like I relate. I can see myself in that song.
- 38:32She almost dresses. This is a theory that I really
- 38:36like that she kind of dresses. Not even necessarily in the
- 38:39price of her clothes because like it's so fucking expensive
- 38:42for what? But she is intentionally like
- 38:44not slaying so that she like looks relatable to people that
- 38:48want, you know, suburban conservatives that are like, Oh
- 38:53my God, that's just like me. I wear a weird Plaid skirt with
- 38:56my stupid boyfriend and so relatable.
- 39:01So she's intentionally giving people a looking glass like
- 39:05mirror ball into a song into her songs so that they can feel like
- 39:10they relate to it, but it's manipulative.
- 39:12Is this really how she feels, or is it because she knows it's how
- 39:16they feel and that they can see themselves in these songs?
- 39:20Completely right, because there's no other reason for her
- 39:23to create music that isn't relatable.
- 39:26I don't think anybody thinks any other artist does this.
- 39:30I think sometimes we listen to songs in that we think that
- 39:35these are, I look at every artist this way, that these are
- 39:37songs about their personal life and there may be some personal
- 39:40aspects to it, but there is no relating to somebody in that
- 39:46price class for the most part, maybe in some of their early
- 39:49music, but as they they have rich people problems, they have
- 39:53rich people things that they're dealing with.
- 39:55And I think with love songs, I think people think, well,
- 39:57everybody goes through love. It's all the same, but it's not
- 39:59the same for them either. That's what I really like.
- 40:01The New Romantics theory in general is that these people
- 40:04are. To the industry and to even the
- 40:07more powerful people expendable, they're manipulated and they're
- 40:11used to just make other people money.
- 40:13Just even how you brought up Taylor Swift dresses a certain
- 40:16way. Taylor Swift got more money in
- 40:17her pinky finger than most people have.
- 40:20Like, yeah, she did some slays, like with respect to some.
- 40:23Well, not all of them, but like when she would show up on the at
- 40:27the Super Bowl and whatnot. But like Taylor, he has no
- 40:30reason to dress that way. Most people don't dress that way
- 40:34who are in her class. You almost have to try to not
- 40:38slay that hard. There was one outfit where it
- 40:40was like 1/4 zip and she had her hair in a braid and I was like,
- 40:45this is what a rich soccer mom looks like.
- 40:48This is not what a celebrity superstar looks like.
- 40:53And she has to have a stylist. No stylist, I don't care how bad
- 40:57they are, is going to say let's put you in 1/4 zip.
- 41:00It's because they have a very specific idea of what she's
- 41:05supposed to be looking like and trying to look like right now.
- 41:08And it's like a Republican congressman's wife.
- 41:10She has a brand and it changes for who she's trying to appeal
- 41:15to and what audience she's catering to at that moment.
- 41:18And anyone think thinking that she doesn't need PR or doesn't
- 41:21use PR and like all of these decisions is delusional or?
- 41:26100%. I know we kind of talked about
- 41:28Tavis, but like what do you think is going to happen with
- 41:32this year's football season because he's resigned?
- 41:35Do you think they're going to stay together?
- 41:36Do you think that he like, do you think she's going to be at
- 41:40the like the football games like she usually is with the errors
- 41:43who are being done? Like what do you see?
- 41:45I don't see her doing that. I mean, it won't shock me.
- 41:48I see anything as possible. Although you know what, I was
- 41:52low key starting to believe with the way that she had been moving
- 41:56with the Super Bowl and after the Vancouver era's tour that
- 41:59she was going to walk the red carpet with that man.
- 42:01I low key kind of could see it happening.
- 42:03But now that she didn't do that, and not only did she not do
- 42:07that, but she basically got an award for the best tour of the
- 42:11year. And she's like, yeah, I know I
- 42:12ain't showing up for that. Like either the breakup would
- 42:15happen. If it's going to happen, it
- 42:16would happen before that or she wouldn't show up to like a lot
- 42:20of the games and he would look sad and they would make her the
- 42:22villain and then she'd break up with him.
- 42:24But she has no reason to continue to put herself in the
- 42:26spotlight. I think he got he continued on
- 42:29because he had his contract and I think he there's no way he's
- 42:32going to want to retire without playing as many seasons as his
- 42:35brother did at the very least. So but I think that that makes
- 42:39sense that he's going back into football for sure.
- 42:41I do think that I don't see her being with this man for long
- 42:45term though. I mean like shock me though, if
- 42:47you want to prove me wrong. If she gets engaged, they have
- 42:49babies. I'll shut the hell up and be
- 42:51like, OK, well, I probably. Shut the fuck up still.
- 42:55But then I'll probably just be dragged into a mental hospital.
- 42:59I'm still saying her lyrics were still gay though, so.
- 43:01Yeah, right. Like she could still be by
- 43:03there's. No way you get to make yourself
- 43:05the cop of a gay town knowing the history of Stonewall like
- 43:09that doesn't. I think that like, even if she's
- 43:13not with Travis, it doesn't mean we have to like him.
- 43:16And if she's with him, dude, that's embarrassing.
- 43:20I. It's the fans that have made me
- 43:22dislike that man more so. Totally, totally, absolutely.
- 43:26Culture around it is really disgusting and very much 40
- 43:31years ago, very traditional. The focus is so much on he's so
- 43:37much taller than she is. He leads her.
- 43:40She doesn't have to think when she's with him.
- 43:42It's it's disgustingly sexist. There was one thing I wanted to
- 43:46say though, it is just a message to auto gaylors out there
- 43:49watching. We'll close with this.
- 43:51Stop letting people talk to you like they're crazy in your
- 43:53comment sections. That's not one piece of advice.
- 43:56You know, people only treat you the way that you allow them to
- 44:00treat you. And I addressed this because I
- 44:02know there's a good platform here.
- 44:05I've addressed this in some videos, but I've seen it even in
- 44:07the Reddit where people will talk about like, I don't like
- 44:10the way that Sydney will cuss somebody out on the Internet.
- 44:13I think the hate was getting to no, the hate wasn't getting to
- 44:16me. It was proving a point that you
- 44:20start bringing the same if you give the energy back, people are
- 44:24going to stop messing with you. Have you realize I haven't had
- 44:27to cuss somebody out in my comments for a long time.
- 44:30That's because people got the message after 1520 times they
- 44:33let me know yeah, they may say that I'm crazy.
- 44:36They already think I'm the enemy.
- 44:37They already think you're the enemy.
- 44:39There's going to be no High Road pleasing them.
- 44:42They already have their preconceived notion of you in
- 44:44your mind. So do not let somebody you you
- 44:48can be respectful. You can be calm, but you ain't
- 44:50got to let somebody walk all over you.
- 44:52And that was the reason why I really took that approach,
- 44:54because I was somebody in elementary school who used to
- 44:57get bullied all the time. And I realized people stopped
- 45:01messing with me when I stopped letting them mess with me, when
- 45:03I stopped letting them get away with that.
- 45:05Sometimes you got to put that emotion on the shelf and cuss
- 45:08somebody out. And when you cuss them out,
- 45:10generally they'll leave you alone.
- 45:11They are not going to respond with logic and patience because
- 45:16right, just like you said, they view us as the enemy.
- 45:19They. Are not they?
- 45:20They're not engaging in good faith to begin with.
- 45:22Exactly there. Is one person who did end up
- 45:24learning and that was my friend Hannah Trudeau.
- 45:26She's gonna get a shout out because I remember one time I
- 45:29did drag her through the mud and she's like, wait, wait, I'm so
- 45:32sorry also that mean. And I'm like, OK, I'll take it
- 45:35now. Like at the same time, it's like
- 45:37when you know, they're not engaging in good faith.
- 45:39I don't. I don't really see a reason that
- 45:42if they're going to call you out your name and spit on your
- 45:45ancestors grave and call you every name but the name your
- 45:48Mama gave you, what's the point? Always good people are always
- 45:51going to not like you if they don't want to like you.
- 45:54For example, with black people. But you won't call me a *** to
- 45:56my face, will you? You'll call me my back because
- 45:59you know what'll happen if you say it to my face.
- 46:01Because inherently, you know, I can be a problem.
- 46:03So sometimes you just need to be the problem.
- 46:06They won't say why they don't like you, and that's why it's so
- 46:09frustrating because you feel like you're dealing with someone
- 46:12who is actually conversing and having an argument, but they're
- 46:15not. They already have, like you
- 46:17said, like preconceived notions. They already have the bigotry.
- 46:20So I think like you said, either like respond with the same
- 46:25energy they gave you, block them, or like move on.
- 46:28Yeah, that's it. Love.
- 46:30OK, let's close with that. Everyone go follow Sydney.
- 46:33It's so fun. I'm so glad we could get our
- 46:36schedules to line up because I've been trying to get you on
- 46:39this pod for a long time. So thank God.
- 46:41What else? Just a reminder to subscribe on
- 46:44YouTube on Patreon if you want to listen to that bonus episode.
