- 0:00So it's no joke. Autistic.
- 0:02I want to get bullied just as much as autistic kids.
- 0:05Guys, welcome back to the ass world.
- 0:06My name is Dan and I have autism and I weekly videos like this.
- 0:09So if you are interested in calling this journey with me and
- 0:11helping people with autism and make sure, hit the subscribe
- 0:14button by clicking the notification bell down below.
- 0:16So it's National Bullying Awareness Weekend.
- 0:19There's lots of anti bullying campaigns going around right
- 0:22now, which is fantastic and I love that.
- 0:24I think the more empower we can get, the better.
- 0:26This is why I want to have this conversation.
- 0:28But what should we do? How can we help people who are
- 0:30on the autism spectrum who are getting bullied?
- 0:32How do we help stop bullying from being a thing?
- 0:35Now autistic individuals are vulnerable individuals.
- 0:38They will have issues in social situations, communication.
- 0:41They could be victims of mate crime, where someone who
- 0:45pretends to be a friend could steal money or take advantage or
- 0:47abuse you, which is always awfully happening all around the
- 0:51world. I see so many cases of it.
- 0:52And now I'm not trying to make this a negative video.
- 0:54I want to make this a video of how can we help, what can we do
- 0:56to help All these things happen. And it's kind of like, oh man, I
- 1:00wish we could help. So I'm here to help you guys
- 1:02with this. So the first thing I want to say
- 1:04is that you need to practice raising awareness and foster
- 1:08understanding. So the more awareness we can
- 1:09raise about artistic individuals and their potential
- 1:13vulnerability in society, the better.
- 1:16You know, community members, school leaders and your local
- 1:18governors, all of those people. We need to be aware of the
- 1:21vulnerabilities of autistic people and we should be looking
- 1:23out for our autistic friends, neighbours and community
- 1:26members. Let's always educate and
- 1:27empower. If you can create something like
- 1:29maybe a short video or or or a presentation, that you can
- 1:33present it to people or you can create something of a what to do
- 1:37if you're being bullied in your school.
- 1:39Or what you can do if you're being bullied at work.
- 1:41And present this to the classes or the group of people that
- 1:45you're with. Because then they can get
- 1:46themselves empowered of what they need to do if they feel
- 1:48like they're victims of being bullied.
- 1:49Because we all need support, we all need somewhere to go,
- 1:52though. We have responsibilities.
- 1:54People who are advocating for autism, people who are trying to
- 1:56do our best, this is our job to help other people.
- 1:59So the next one I'll talk about is encourage open communication.
- 2:02A lot of people don't know much about autism, and so they may
- 2:05not even know that autistic people are susceptible to being
- 2:07bullied, right? And also the other way around.
- 2:09Autistic individuals who are being bullied may not know that
- 2:11they can speak out and talk about it because they feel too
- 2:13afraid. Always offer a helping hand and
- 2:16always offer yourself to be that person, to open a conversation,
- 2:19open dialogue, explain, educate all the things about autism and
- 2:23how the vulnerability can be subject to bullying and the
- 2:26causes of that. Now guys, just want to take a
- 2:28moment to thank today's video sponsor which is brilliant.
- 2:32Now Brilliant is a non prescription homeopathic
- 2:34medication that you can take for anxiety, stress, ADHD that I
- 2:39take it for ADHD and it's pretty amazing.
- 2:40It helps reduce things like restlessness, irritability, and
- 2:44improve concentration and enhance clarity.
- 2:47Not Brilliant is super awesome. Again, it's there's no nasties
- 2:49in it, it's supernatural and they do offer kids and adults.
- 2:52Now if you're thinking about trying Brilliant, first thing to
- 2:55do is go and consult with your doctor first to make sure it's
- 2:57OK, because I recommend that anyway.
- 2:59But also, I have a 15% discount for you, so you can use the
- 3:02discount ASP 15 by clicking the link in the description of this
- 3:05video or in my bio. By linking bio you can get
- 3:09yourself over to Brilliant and use the code ASP 15 for 15% off.
- 3:13Super Awesome. Okay.
- 3:14Let's go with the video. So the next thing I'd say to do
- 3:16is if you're in position of power, say you're in a working
- 3:19environment or a schooling environment, any education
- 3:21environment where adults are present, you know you can
- 3:24implement an anti bullying policy.
- 3:26You can create more harsh strict rules if someone feels like
- 3:29they're being bullied. You can create more stricter
- 3:31measures on on how a person is that disciplined if they found
- 3:33out to be a bully, right? Because it sounds ridiculous but
- 3:36I've known adults from all ages right up until the, you know,
- 3:40the 60s and 70s getting bullied in in working environments if
- 3:43they're only autism spectrum, which is absolutely crazy to me.
- 3:46But it happens and it's something that we need to put a
- 3:49stop to you. We'll stamp it out wherever we
- 3:51can. So creating a policy within your
- 3:53working environment or in your social environment or in any
- 3:55networking environment that you're part of would be so
- 3:58awesome to defer bullying from actually happening now.
- 4:01Last thing I will say is support people and help them seek
- 4:04professional help. Maybe your personal is getting
- 4:06bullied yourself and seek professional help.
- 4:08There are always counsellors available or even speak to your
- 4:10doctor, physician, GP, any of those people can help.
- 4:13If you're an advocate and you want to help other people and
- 4:16seek that person of being a support gorgeous, you know if
- 4:19you see some vulnerable situation, check in on them,
- 4:21make sure they're OK Make sure that there's nothing happening
- 4:25in their life that they feel bullied with.
- 4:26Make sure that they are feeling comfortable.
- 4:28Make sure that they're feeling taken care of.
- 4:30It's your duty as a person to take care of other people.
- 4:32So what we do, we're all family here on this planet.
- 4:34We need to take care of each other.
- 4:36Guys, if you have anything to add to this puppet or comment
- 4:38down below, I will read every single comment.
- 4:40Share this video because I think it's important and give it a
- 4:42thumbs up to help the distribution of this video.
- 4:44OK, guys, I'll see you in the next one.
- 4:45Thank you so much peace.
