- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happened to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning. So today is travel back day and
- 0:33so much I I can't even begin to explain the amount of love that
- 0:40I got to experience over the last few days.
- 0:44Being at this event and being able to speak and be in a room
- 0:48with people that were truly appreciative of everyone that
- 0:53was teaching them. Being with people that I get to
- 0:57coach all the time and hugging them and loving on them and just
- 1:01having this connection. The, the boost that it gave me
- 1:09was something I didn't even know I needed, which is what's so
- 1:11funny about it. Like you don't even know you
- 1:13need things sometimes until you find out that you are getting
- 1:16them and then you're like, wow, I really needed that.
- 1:19And that's what's in the lesson today.
- 1:22I, I'm watching things around the farm before I left, getting
- 1:27ready to leave, I was making sure everything was taken care
- 1:30of, not the not just the animals, but the plants, things
- 1:33like that. And I noticed how so everything
- 1:36is starting to butt out. Everything is really like
- 1:40getting ready to burst forward with spring, which is always
- 1:43such a tremendous time to begin with.
- 1:45But I noticed how lots of the, especially the plum trees had
- 1:52triple the amount of blooms on them.
- 1:55And I could see the fig trees were coming out stronger than
- 1:59normal. And we had a really tough winter
- 2:02cold wise. So I sat there and, and, and I
- 2:06looked at them and I was like taking in the information and
- 2:09like, that's interesting, being very curious, staying in that
- 2:12curious mindset because that's a superpower.
- 2:15And at this event, I connected the dots.
- 2:19All of a sudden, days later, I started connecting dots because
- 2:23I realized that I was giving them things when I wasn't sure
- 2:28they even needed them in the at the end of the fall and
- 2:32throughout the winter, I was making sure that they had been
- 2:37packed like all around their base of the trees had been
- 2:40packed with really, really good compost and coming from the
- 2:44bunnies, coming from the chickens and, and just making
- 2:47sure that that was going to break down and supply something
- 2:51to them and, and trying something ahead of time, doing
- 2:55something instead of just doing it in the spring, doing
- 2:57something ahead of time, setting it up for when they needed it.
- 3:00It would be kicking in. And boy, oh boy, did that hit
- 3:06home because it all of a sudden it is like a game changer.
- 3:11I've got all kinds of amazing things going on.
- 3:17And I, I was looking at the amount of the number of buds on
- 3:22the, on the plum trees and I was like astonished by it.
- 3:26And then I remembered, ah, wait, I was giving them something and
- 3:30I didn't know they needed it when they were going to need it.
- 3:33But now I see that that is a critical choice.
- 3:37And just like I didn't know I needed the boost of going out
- 3:41and meeting with people that are regular, like, you know,
- 3:46coaching clients of mine. But getting out and speaking and
- 3:50doing something like that, what it would do now traveling back
- 3:55is is going to take a hot minute.
- 3:57And the level of exhaustion you feel after an event like this
- 4:02when you pour in and you pour in and you pour in is high and it,
- 4:08it's draining. But boy, what a difference does
- 4:11it make. Boy, how does it make you feel
- 4:14overall? Is it worth it to go down that
- 4:17road? And, and I do think it is I, I
- 4:20mean, for me, I can speak and say 100% it is just like pouring
- 4:24into projects. Are they exhausting?
- 4:26Yes. Do they make your body hurt?
- 4:29Yes. Are there things that you just I
- 4:31look at and I go, oh, that's going to be a tough one.
- 4:34There's a there's a flower garden that I'm going to be
- 4:36starting soon and I'm like, man, that's going to be a lot of
- 4:38work. But guess what?
- 4:40It will be worth it and the exhaustion will be worth it.
- 4:44So we have to always equate those things to it and say, but
- 4:47what is it going to give me on the other side?
- 4:49Because there are things that are cross pollinates that gives
- 4:52us so much more. So I am wrapping up this trip
- 4:59and really recognizing that that's a part of something that
- 5:04I need to add in more regularly. I don't go often and when I do,
- 5:09I sometimes I'll say, oh, that was worth it like that.
- 5:13Like what the experience I'm having now.
- 5:14And sometimes I go, yeah, that was not worth it in the long run
- 5:18because of the extent of the travel.
- 5:22Or maybe it was what happened when I was there.
- 5:25But what I realized is I have to focus on the other parts of it
- 5:30and that those feelings and what they do to cross pollinate.
- 5:34So it's not missing those little nuances.
- 5:36It's, it's actually paying attention to them and really
- 5:40saying, huh, OK, I see it. And I'm going to make sure I
- 5:43focus on that and not just the, Oh, I don't like the travel
- 5:47portion of things. So I, I'm going to throw it out
- 5:50there to you guys and say, Hey, what is it that you could do?
- 5:54That would be the same thing. That would be a tremendous boost
- 5:56for you that, you know, you might need right now.
- 5:59Whatever's going on in your life, because life is always
- 6:02challenging. I mean, there are always going
- 6:04to be challenges. There are always going to be
- 6:05things we don't understand. There are always going to be
- 6:08things that show up and we're like, what the hell is this here
- 6:11for? What is this here to teach me?
- 6:14It's our job to find a way to say, I'm going to get curious.
- 6:18I'm going to dig in and I'm going to say, OK, I don't
- 6:22particularly like this. I'm not fond of this.
- 6:26I, you could even go so far as to say I hate it.
- 6:28And I know I, I have to find a way to connect these dots.
- 6:32Because once we find a way to connect the dots as human
- 6:35beings, we feel more certain and we start going on and we can
- 6:39say, OK, well, that wasn't for me.
- 6:41That is for me In this case, this was for me.
- 6:44And even though it it took me away from the things that I love
- 6:48and my family and all of you know, the farm, it also gave me
- 6:53something. So paying attention to that
- 6:56piece is absolutely critical. So I will say that it was all
- 7:02worth it and I will see you guys tomorrow and I hope you have a
- 7:06blessed day connecting the dots. Bye.
