- 0:00Speaker 1: Time now for we're back to the basics and healthcare
- 0:02Speaker 1: with Balace Life Chiropractic. We have doctor Harley with us.
- 0:04Speaker 1: How are you doing, Doctor Harley?
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey John, I'm doing great. Nice to finally not be
- 0:09Speaker 2: melting out high enjoying summer.
- 0:12Speaker 1: It was like one hundred degrees and then to drop
- 0:14Speaker 1: down to eighty and we're like, oh, get me a coat,
- 0:16Speaker 1: it's only eighty right. So we're also wrapping up Men's
- 0:20Speaker 1: Health Month, which is June National Men's Health Month. And
- 0:23Speaker 1: during this month, we've kind of talked about some of
- 0:25Speaker 1: the myths that you know, that people think about. One
- 0:28Speaker 1: of the things that I will say, I think men
- 0:30Speaker 1: are kind of stummer, aren't they.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Yeah, we've kind of had the same of evolving theme
- 0:33Speaker 2: week to week, and you know, we've kind of been
- 0:35Speaker 2: dispelling some of the myths surrounding men's health. You know,
- 0:39Speaker 2: you're kind of lye into yourself, like, oh, I'm fine,
- 0:41Speaker 2: My problems aren't that bad.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I can see poking out.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Pain is normal. It's fine. I'll deal with it later.
- 0:49Speaker 1: So when guys come in, are they usual a little
- 0:51Speaker 1: more messed up because they waited way way, way longer
- 0:53Speaker 1: than they.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Should have right, Yeah, their problems tend to be a
- 0:56Speaker 2: little bit more chronic, meaning it's been going on for
- 0:58Speaker 2: a while and it's going to take a little bit
- 1:00Speaker 2: longer to work on correcting it, or at least pain relief,
- 1:04Speaker 2: symptom relief kind of thing. Yeah.
- 1:07Speaker 1: And the thing that's nice with Bounce Life Chiropractic one
- 1:10Speaker 1: of the things I really like. It's not guesswork.
- 1:12Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:12Speaker 1: I've been to chiropractice where I feel like, you know,
- 1:15Speaker 1: they meanwhile, but they don't necessarily know exactly what the
- 1:17Speaker 1: issue is, and they're relying on me telling them what
- 1:20Speaker 1: I think I was wrong with me, but we all
- 1:22Speaker 1: know I don't know, and we don't know what's wrong.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Sometimes the pain is here, but the issue is somewhere else.
- 1:27Speaker 1: I love that when I come to Balance Life Chiropractic,
- 1:30Speaker 1: there's technology in this office that is different than what
- 1:32Speaker 1: I've seen anywhere else.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Right, I really like using that tech because it helps
- 1:35Speaker 2: us get a bigger picture of what's going on. Yeah,
- 1:39Speaker 2: not just relying on you to tell me, oh, this
- 1:41Speaker 2: is where my pain is at, this is where my
- 1:42Speaker 2: problems are, you know, because sometimes that's not exactly where
- 1:45Speaker 2: the problem is. Is where the pain is it's relating
- 1:47Speaker 2: from somewhere else. So this helps us get a bigger
- 1:50Speaker 2: picture of really what's going on and not just relying
- 1:53Speaker 2: on symptoms or lack of symptoms, because sometimes you could
- 1:56Speaker 2: have no problems and no symptoms, but the underlying framework
- 2:00Speaker 2: don knowing issues are still there. It's kind of like
- 2:04Speaker 2: the final straw out that broke the camel's back before
- 2:06Speaker 2: you know, something really starts showing up. So we want
- 2:09Speaker 2: to address problems even before they start becoming an issue.
- 2:12Speaker 1: And everybody's pain tolerance is different, you know. So for
- 2:14Speaker 1: some people, you know, a little aUI is like the
- 2:17Speaker 1: end of the world. There's others where I think my
- 2:19Speaker 1: wife has walked off a broken toe before. I mean,
- 2:21Speaker 1: so you know, her pain tolerance is high. She has
- 2:23Speaker 1: to because she puts up with.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Me, right, Yeah, everyone's painton is a little bit different.
- 2:27Speaker 2: And sometimes we get a false sense of security too,
- 2:29Speaker 2: like oh, my pain's not that bad, or my symptoms
- 2:31Speaker 2: aren't that bad. I'll deal with it later, or you know,
- 2:34Speaker 2: I feel pretty good now now I'm done. We get
- 2:36Speaker 2: that false sense of security. We stop doing the things
- 2:39Speaker 2: that are good for our health when we feel good,
- 2:42Speaker 2: and then we wonder why our health starts taking a
- 2:45Speaker 2: declining and like, well I did all this.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Stuff, you slid right back to where you were right If.
- 2:49Speaker 2: You stop doing it, you're going to go right back
- 2:51Speaker 2: to how things were. Our body likes to go back
- 2:53Speaker 2: to familiar chaos versus staying an unfamiliar piece. So it's
- 2:58Speaker 2: really hard to make that progress. We finally made it,
- 3:01Speaker 2: we got where we wanted to be, but it's really
- 3:04Speaker 2: easy to fall right back to where we were.
- 3:06Speaker 1: And one of the things that I will say with
- 3:07Speaker 1: the cool technology at Balanced Life Chiropractic, not only do
- 3:11Speaker 1: you get a chance to kind of take a peek
- 3:13Speaker 1: at where we're at right now, but then we do
- 3:15Speaker 1: pretty regular updates where you say, hey, let's do this again,
- 3:17Speaker 1: and then you compare the two and it's so much
- 3:19Speaker 1: fun to see, Look what a difference has happened in
- 3:22Speaker 1: the last How is it six months between right?
- 3:25Speaker 2: It kind of depends, you know. Within the first year
- 3:27Speaker 2: of someone being undercare, we do a little bit more
- 3:29Speaker 2: regularly because we're really trying to keep on top of
- 3:32Speaker 2: you if we're trying to deal with an existing issue.
- 3:35Speaker 2: And then once we get more into like maintenance wellness care,
- 3:37Speaker 2: it's spread out every six months because at that point
- 3:39Speaker 2: we're not expecting you to make like, you know, trying
- 3:42Speaker 2: to fix everything again. It's more about keeping things where
- 3:44Speaker 2: we are. We can see, okay, yeah, this is working
- 3:46Speaker 2: really well. Your stress levels and your body are staying
- 3:49Speaker 2: at a good level. Your muscles aren't over exerting, you're
- 3:52Speaker 2: under exerting. It helps us see, okay, how are things doing.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Are you a little bit more stressed out lately? Do
- 3:57Speaker 2: you need to bump back up a little bit and care?
- 3:59Speaker 2: You know, can we down a little bit? It helps us,
- 4:01Speaker 2: you know, track it a little bit more how we're
- 4:03Speaker 2: doing with care, how your body's responding, and giving you
- 4:06Speaker 2: a picture of yeah, we can see those changes.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I love that and to me again, having that technology,
- 4:12Speaker 1: it kind of reminds me of you know, back in
- 4:13Speaker 1: the day, you go to a mechanic and they would
- 4:15Speaker 1: listen to the car and they go, I think it's this,
- 4:17Speaker 1: you know, and then they would fix that might have
- 4:19Speaker 1: been wrong. Then they fix another thing and that might
- 4:21Speaker 1: have been wrong. Nowadays, a lot of the time they
- 4:23Speaker 1: go they plug it in and they go, oh, it's
- 4:24Speaker 1: this sensor that's having an issue, and they fix that
- 4:27Speaker 1: that's kind of what I feel like this technology does
- 4:29Speaker 1: for you.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Right. And on that note, we just had an oil
- 4:32Speaker 2: change on our car and it was really neat the
- 4:34Speaker 2: place we went to they gave us like a full
- 4:36Speaker 2: rundown to some of the things that well, this should
- 4:39Speaker 2: be fixed soon. This needs to be fixed rightaway. So
- 4:41Speaker 2: that's really cool that we have that. And so it
- 4:43Speaker 2: is really neat when we can do that with our
- 4:45Speaker 2: body too, and see, yeah, this area start to have
- 4:48Speaker 2: some more problems. You know, we need to address this
- 4:50Speaker 2: now versus you know it's going to continue to get worse,
- 4:53Speaker 2: or maybe you don't have a problem here yet, but
- 4:55Speaker 2: we can see that the stress that you're dealing with
- 4:57Speaker 2: right now eventually is going to lead to problems there.
- 5:00Speaker 2: I love that.
- 5:00Speaker 1: And doctor Harley just told me that I need to
- 5:02Speaker 1: rotate my tires, so I'm.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Going to work on that.
- 5:04Speaker 1: So just kidding. If somebody listening would like to maybe
- 5:07Speaker 1: seek a little help from folks here at Balance Life Chiropractic,
- 5:10Speaker 1: what is the best way for them to connect with
- 5:12Speaker 1: you and get things started right.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Just because we're getting to the end of Men's Health
- 5:15Speaker 2: Month doesn't mean that we're going to stop talking about
- 5:17Speaker 2: men's health and that men should just stop thinking about
- 5:20Speaker 2: their health. You know, this is the time to bring
- 5:22Speaker 2: attention and awareness to it. Now. You've got to use
- 5:25Speaker 2: these tools, these pieces of the puzzle to put together,
- 5:28Speaker 2: you know, actually working towards making your health better. So
