- 0:14Isaiah 55, let's read. Come everyone who thirsts,
- 0:21come to the waters. And he who has no money,
- 0:27come buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without
- 0:33money and without price. Why do you spend your
- 0:37money for that which is not bread and your labor
- 0:41for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently
- 0:47to me and eat what is good and delight yourself.
- 1:10Behold, I made him a witness to the peoples,
- 1:14a leader and a commander for the peoples. Behold,
- 1:17you shall call a nation that you do not know.
- 1:21and a nation that did not know you shall run
- 1:25to you because of the Lord, because of Yahweh
- 1:29your Elohim, and of the Holy One of Israel, for
- 1:33he has glorified you. Seek the Lord while he
- 1:39may be found. Call upon him while he is near.
- 1:42Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous
- 1:46man his thoughts. Let him return to the Lord
- 1:50that he may have compassion on him and to our
- 1:54God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts
- 1:59are not your thoughts, neither are your ways
- 2:02my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens
- 2:05are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher
- 2:08than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
- 2:11For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven
- 2:14and do not return there but water the earth,
- 2:18making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed
- 2:21to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall
- 2:25my word be that goes out from my mouth. It shall
- 2:31not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish
- 2:34that which I purpose and shall succeed in the
- 2:38thing for which I sent it. For you shall go out
- 2:42in joy and be led forth in peace. And the mountains
- 2:47and the hills before you shall break forth in
- 2:49singing. And all the trees of the field shall
- 2:52clap their hands. Instead of the thorn shall
- 2:56come up the cypress. Instead of the briar shall
- 3:01come up the myrtle. And it shall make a name
- 3:05for the Lord, an everlasting sign that shall
- 3:09not... be cut off. Lord, I want to thank you
- 3:11for your word. Help us, Lord, as we open, continue
- 3:15to go through Isaiah 55, that you would give
- 3:18us clear understanding of what you're saying
- 3:21concerning your word. How you are calling your
- 3:25people to listen diligently, to incline, to hear,
- 3:29to come, to know, to be obedient. Help us, Lord,
- 3:36to really understand that we must know your word
- 3:40and know you more that we may have favor with
- 3:44you. Lord, we praise you and thank you in Jesus
- 3:47name. Amen. So five basic principles. Are we
- 3:51connected? I'm going to try one more time. Hey,
- 3:55we're connected, man. Let's go. All right. It
- 4:10says we were connected. I don't know why it stayed
- 4:12connected that time, but I'll go with it. First
- 4:15one, are you hungry and thirsty? Come, he does
- 4:24satisfy. So when you think about your life, what
- 4:28are you hungry and thirsty for? Are you hungry
- 4:32and thirsty for the thing that fills the belly?
- 4:34It satisfies the grumblings. Are you hungry and
- 4:38thirsty for the true bread and the true water?
- 4:44Come, he does satisfy. John 6, 35. Jesus said
- 4:49to them, I am the bread of life. Whoever comes
- 4:53to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes
- 4:56in me shall never thirst. Do you hear that? The
- 5:02very one that Isaiah 55 is talking about, the
- 5:06king who sits on the throne of David, everlasting,
- 5:10the one who will completely and totally satisfy,
- 5:14he is the one who quenches our thirst and takes
- 5:19away our hunger. But how does he do it? Because
- 5:23he fills your cabinet full of food and goodies?
- 5:25No, he does it through his word. In Isaiah 55,
- 5:29one through two way. Come. Yolak is the word
- 5:34here. Yolak means, refers to a starting point
- 5:38or summons you to start here. Where do you start?
- 5:44If you aren't seeking out God in his word, he's
- 5:51telling you start here. This is your starting
- 5:55point. The word. Oh, it went out again. I don't
- 5:58know. I'm still connected, bud. Says I'm connected.
- 6:06It's the system. Don't worry about it. Don't
- 6:11worry about it. Put up the God said and that's
- 6:14it. So my question to you, are you willing to
- 6:18start at the word? At the thing that gives everlasting
- 6:25water and manna, spiritual manna? Are you there?
- 6:33In the word, are you getting something daily?
- 6:37You have to eat and drink daily. Start here.
- 6:42Start where your hunger and your thirst begin.
- 6:46There. Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters.
- 6:52Everyone who is thirsty, come to the waters.
- 6:57And he who has no money. Come and buy and eat.
- 7:01How can you buy anything with no money? Because
- 7:06this is free. It's a marketplace, a free marketplace
- 7:13of everything you need for life and godliness.
- 7:18As a matter of fact, he says, come buy wine and
- 7:22milk without money and without price. Come and
- 7:27take, come and get. Why do you spend money for
- 7:32that which is not bread? And your labor for that
- 7:37which is not satisfied. The word satisfy here
- 7:39is soba. And the word soba means to be filled
- 7:43or fulfill. Where do you get your fill? Do you
- 7:49get your fill on all the things that are around
- 7:52you in life? Do you get your fill on your family?
- 7:56Does that fill you? Or do you get your fill on
- 8:00the thing you love the most when it comes to
- 8:03goodies? Mine's Lindor truffles. Okay. Or peanut
- 8:09butter balls. I do have a tendency to get my
- 8:12fill on. I shouldn't. But that really doesn't
- 8:17satisfy. It's temporary. But real true satisfaction,
- 8:22real fill comes from Christ. Or are you just
- 8:26working? To fill or to be filled with the things
- 8:31of this earth. Number two, how does he satisfy
- 8:35his people? If we want to be satisfied, how does
- 8:41God satisfy our hunger and thirst? He gives us
- 8:45the answer here. Listen diligently. Incline your
- 8:50ear. Hear what he's saying. He has glorified
- 8:54his people. John 8, 45 through 47. But because
- 9:00I tell you the truth, and I want you to pay attention
- 9:03to this. This is so huge. I wish the church in
- 9:08America grabs this truth. But I tell you the
- 9:13truth, Jesus says, you do not believe me. Jesus
- 9:19came, preached the truth. And the scripture says,
- 9:24you do not believe me. Which one of you convicts
- 9:29me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not
- 9:35believe me? They know he tells the truth. Whoever
- 9:41is of God hears the words of God. You hear that?
- 9:48Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The
- 9:54reason why you do not hear them is that you are
- 9:57not of God. Do you get that? We live in a world
- 10:07where there are people that are of God and many
- 10:10more that are not of God. And the reality is
- 10:13they don't hear the word of God or the truth
- 10:15of God because they're not of God. How did I
- 10:20ever come to know the gospel, to know the Christ
- 10:23of the gospel, to know the God of the gospel?
- 10:25Because I belonged to him. When? Before the foundation
- 10:30of the world, the scripture says. I was written
- 10:32in the Lamb's book of life. It happened to be
- 10:34on that day at that particular time in his wisdom
- 10:38and goodness and mercy. He has shown me the truth
- 10:42because I belonged to him. But there are many
- 10:47who don't hear because they don't belong to him.
- 10:52Jesus makes this very clear. Whoever is of God
- 10:56hears the words of God. My sheep know me and
- 11:00they know my voice. The reason why you don't
- 11:03hear them is that you are not of God and you
- 11:08are not of my sheep, Jesus also says. In Isaiah
- 11:125, 2b through 5, he says, listen diligently.
- 11:15Here is what the people of God do. So my question
- 11:20to you is, are you thirsty and hungry? How are
- 11:24you getting the word? He doesn't tell you how
- 11:28to get it. He just tells you to get it. You can
- 11:31get it through reading your Bible. You can get
- 11:33it through listening to the Bible. You can get
- 11:35it through some of you guys like your little
- 11:38digital Bibles and little notices and stuff.
- 11:42Get it that way. Get the word. Listen diligently.
- 11:46Salma. Hear intently. Act in your hearing. Act
- 11:54in what you hear. Be obedient. Do what God says.
- 11:59That is what hearing or listening diligently
- 12:03means. Do what God says. Listen diligently to
- 12:09me. That's what God's people do. So if I am thirsty
- 12:14and hungry and I come to the water, I must listen
- 12:19diligently. Do what God says. Don't just hear
- 12:22it. but do it. Then he says, and eat what is
- 12:26good and delight yourself in rich food. Psalm
- 12:31119 is all about the word. Delight yourself in
- 12:35the word. How can a young man keep his way pure
- 12:37by living according to your word? I have hidden
- 12:40your word in my heart that I might not sin against
- 12:41you. I memorized those when I was a young lad
- 12:45in the Lord. My challenge to you is, do you delight?
- 12:49in his word as rich food. The scripture also
- 12:53says that his word is as sweet as honey. It's
- 12:58greater than gold and silver. Then he tells us
- 13:03to incline, nolta. This word incline means to
- 13:08turn to obedience. Incline, repent, turn to obedience.
- 13:14Am I turning to be obedient? Am I inclining my
- 13:17ear? To obedience. Do you see that? Listen diligently.
- 13:24Do what I say. Incline your ear. Turn to obedience.
- 13:29Same thing, isn't it? And then he says, and come
- 13:34to me. See, if I'm listening diligently and I'm
- 13:39doing what I'm hearing, and then I incline my
- 13:42ear, I'm turning and moving towards obedience,
- 13:46then I will come to him. And I will hear him.
- 13:53Soma. Why? That my soul or that your soul may
- 13:57live. You want life? You want to live life? You
- 14:01want to feel alive? You don't want to feel defeated
- 14:04every single day of your life? You don't want
- 14:06to feel like every day is a struggle? In this
- 14:11world, you're going to have struggle. You're
- 14:13going to have trouble. Jesus promised it. But
- 14:17can you? Can you feel alive in the struggle?
- 14:22Yes. My soul may live if I listen diligently,
- 14:28if I incline my ear, if I come to him, if I hear.
- 14:37Look what it says next. It says, and I will make
- 14:40with you an everlasting covenant. Who is our
- 14:45everlasting covenant? Jesus. He says, I give
- 14:49you a new covenant in my blood. We have an everlasting
- 14:53covenant. This is what he's talking about here.
- 14:57Why? My steadfast, sure love for David. What
- 15:02did he say to David? David, your throne will
- 15:05be a throne forever. Who sits on the throne of
- 15:09David? The king of kings and the Lord of lords,
- 15:12Jesus. He is our everlasting covenant. And he's
- 15:16calling us to listen diligently, to incline our
- 15:20ear, to hear and to come. Behold, I made him
- 15:24a witness, aid, a testimony, an evidence. Who's
- 15:31the evidence? David. Why is he the evidence?
- 15:34Because he is the proof that God is a God of
- 15:36promises. And he keeps his word. What is the
- 15:41witness? David was a witness to the peoples.
- 15:47A leader and a commander for the peoples. Behold,
- 15:53you shall call a nation that you do not know.
- 15:58Isn't that interesting? How has there been a
- 16:03nation that has been called that they do not
- 16:07know? It's called the nation of Gentiles. God
- 16:12has called us. And then look what it says. And
- 16:15a nation that did not know you shall run to you.
- 16:20Isn't that beautiful? Because of Adonai, your
- 16:26Elohim. Because of Yahweh, your Elohim. Of the
- 16:30Holy One. That's actually Yahweh. I don't know
- 16:32why. transferred to lowercase O -R -D, but it's
- 16:37actually all capitals, Yahweh, your Elohim, and
- 16:40of the Holy One of Israel. Who is the Holy One
- 16:43of Israel? Christ. Because for he has glorified
- 16:48you. How has God glorified us? Because he has
- 16:53made us a people. So, Do you as a people seek
- 17:03the Lord and have you called on his name? He
- 17:08hears and forgives and he does not forsake those
- 17:11who truly seek him. I want you to notice in Psalm
- 17:159, 9 through 10, the Lord is a stronghold for
- 17:19the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
- 17:22And those who know your name put their trust
- 17:25in you for you, O Adonai. Have not forsaken those
- 17:31who seek you. God will not forsake you if you
- 17:35seek him. He is faithful to continue to care
- 17:41for you. He will preserve you. Look what it says
- 17:44in Isaiah 55, 6, and 7. Seek the Lord while he
- 17:50may be found. Call upon him while he is near.
- 17:54This word, call upon, is the word to summon for
- 17:58help or to repent. Seek the Lord while he may
- 18:03be found. Repent while he is near. This implies
- 18:09something that we'll get to in a minute. I want
- 18:12you to think about that. While he may be found
- 18:14and while he is near, let the wicked forsake
- 18:18his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts.
- 18:23Turn to him. Let him return to the Lord that
- 18:29he may have compassion on him. Repent. Turn to
- 18:34Jesus. Repentance is not turning away from sin.
- 18:40Only. Repentance is turning to Christ. And as
- 18:45a result of turning to Christ, you turn from
- 18:47your sin. You forsake the thing you love the
- 18:50most. for the one you want to love the most.
- 18:54And how does that happen? The work of God, through
- 18:59the work of regeneration and transformation of
- 19:02the heart. Look what it says, that he may have
- 19:07compassion on him and to our Elohim, for he will
- 19:12abundantly pardon. So what do we notice here
- 19:17in these verses? There's the idea and understanding
- 19:21that repentance is necessary. Repent. When? Now.
- 19:28Now. Because there will be a day when it will
- 19:31not. He will not be found. And he will not be
- 19:35near. But you're like, well, he's omnipresent.
- 19:39Yes, he is omnipresent. Doesn't mean he's not
- 19:43going to be present. He's just not available
- 19:45for you. I want you to understand something.
- 19:49This term, seek now while he may be found and
- 19:55while he is near, implies while, implies there's
- 20:01a day, the day, when you will not be able to
- 20:05seek him and no one will find him because he
- 20:09will not be near to be found. Why? Because the
- 20:14great day of judgment and wrath, when you feel
- 20:19like coming, you'll never feel like coming. That's
- 20:24important. No one feels like coming to Jesus.
- 20:29John 3. Just read that. John 3, 16 through 21.
- 20:35The reality is that there is a day, the great
- 20:39day. When God will pour his judgment and wrath
- 20:43on the earth and upon everything here, and that
- 20:49he will not be found for repentance. It's too
- 20:52late. Now, number four, God's word does. accomplish
- 21:01that which he purposed and shall succeed in the
- 21:05thing in which he sent it. Now this is important
- 21:07because we just read the reality that there's
- 21:10going to be a day when you're not going to be
- 21:12able to find Jesus. The Lord's not going to be
- 21:15found. He'll be present, but not in the way you
- 21:18want. It's not going to be the lamb that's like,
- 21:21hey, I want you to come to me. He's going to
- 21:25be like, I'm the God of war and I'm going to
- 21:27destroy everything that's contrary to me. But
- 21:31I want you to understand something. That doesn't
- 21:35mean that everything that God doesn't plan or
- 21:37set, that it will never happen. It will always
- 21:43happen. He will always complete what he started.
- 21:48Deuteronomy 8 .3 says it this way. And he humbled
- 21:51you and let you hunger and fed you with manna,
- 21:55which you did not know, nor did your fathers
- 21:58know. Now think about that. God leads his people
- 22:02out of Egypt, places them in the wilderness,
- 22:06and lets them go hungry on purpose. Well, that's
- 22:14mean. No, it's not. Because you're going to find
- 22:17out why. God let them go hungry. He didn't let
- 22:20them die. He let them have some stomach pains.
- 22:25So they understood that, you know, it's not what
- 22:27you put in the belly that satisfies. Look what
- 22:32it says here. Let's keep reading. That he might
- 22:36make you know that man does not live by bread
- 22:41alone, but man lives by every word that comes
- 22:45from the mouth of the Lord. The reason why you
- 22:48didn't die in the wilderness is because I said
- 22:51so. Not because you were hungry. That's what
- 22:55he's saying here. That's power. Now I can understand
- 23:00why some dudes just don't eat for 40 days. Of
- 23:03course, they probably look all nice and trim
- 23:06or really, really sick looking. But not really.
- 23:12Can you imagine? Moses didn't. He fasted for
- 23:1540 days. It's kind of wild, actually. Look what
- 23:20it says in Isaiah 55, 8 through 11. Why? Why?
- 23:26Does God say, man does not live by bread alone,
- 23:29but by every word that comes from the mouth of
- 23:31God. It's because he's different. For my thoughts,
- 23:38this word thoughts is the word plans or devices.
- 23:43My plans, my devices are not yours. Man plans
- 23:49his ways, but God ordains his steps. Man thinks
- 23:53he's got it all figured out. But then God throws
- 23:57a monkey wrench in and says, that's not my plan.
- 24:02So my plans and my devices are not your plans
- 24:05or your devices. Neither are your ways of living,
- 24:09my ways. Neither are my ways, neither are your
- 24:14ways, my ways, he says here. This idea of the
- 24:16word ways means the way of life. The way you
- 24:21want to live is not the way I'm commanding you
- 24:24to live. My ways of living are way different
- 24:26than your ways of living. For as the heavens
- 24:30are higher than the earth, so are my ways of
- 24:35living higher than your ways and my devices and
- 24:40my plans than your plans. For as the rain And
- 24:47the snow come down from heaven and do not return
- 24:50there, but water the earth, making it bring forth
- 24:55and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread
- 24:58to the eater. Here it is. So shall my word be
- 25:02that comes out from my mouth. It shall not return
- 25:09to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which
- 25:14I purpose. That's sovereignty. That's providence.
- 25:21And shall succeed. Notice. Succeed. Accomplish.
- 25:26Win. Every single time. Never to lose. It will
- 25:30always succeed in the thing in which I sent it.
- 25:35That's power. So though your life may not look
- 25:40like you planned it, it's not your plan, it's
- 25:43his. The question is, are you going to get in
- 25:46line with his plan? Are you willing to settle
- 25:50in behind him and trust him as a chick does to
- 25:56the eagle? Number five, blessed are those who
- 26:04come hungry and thirsty, who listen diligently,
- 26:09who incline the ear and hear. To hear his word,
- 26:15who seek the Lord with all their heart, who call
- 26:18upon him for they lack no good thing, who know
- 26:21fully that his word will accomplish and succeed
- 26:26in which he sent it. Do you know? Are you that
- 26:30confident in God's word? Do you live with that
- 26:37kind of confidence, that kind of victory? You
- 26:40know why Christians don't win? Because they want
- 26:45to win on their terms, their way, with their
- 26:48thoughts and their own ways. And you wonder,
- 26:53why am I still struggling? Because you ain't
- 26:57willing to get in line. You're not willing to
- 27:00be obedient. You want it your way. You want the
- 27:03cake and eat it too. Lord knows I'm not a big
- 27:07cake guy. Lindor truffles. Matthew 6, 33. Here's
- 27:15the answer. It says, but seek first the kingdom
- 27:18of God and his righteousness and all these things
- 27:20shall be added to you. There it is. What's the
- 27:23kingdom of God? Christ and his word. And his
- 27:29righteousness. Which is righteousness? Live his
- 27:32ways. Seek him and his word. Live his ways. It's
- 27:38the same thing Isaiah says. Jesus does it masterfully.
- 27:44just does it in this really simple way. Now,
- 27:47Isaiah 55, 12 through 13. For you shall go out
- 27:53in joy and be led forth in peace. Oh, you guys
- 27:57know this song. I know you know this song. If
- 28:01you've ever went to a Christian retreat or a
- 28:04camp, you get behind the fire. I know fire, you
- 28:10know me. Far. About to get that s'more on. Little
- 28:16hot dog on a stick. And then you start singing
- 28:21this song. I know, Carol knows this song. You
- 28:26might. I might make you sing it in a minute,
- 28:29Carol. I shall go out with joy and be led forth
- 28:33in peace and the mountains and the hills shall
- 28:35sing. You guys know it. Right? They shall break
- 28:41forth out into singing and the trees of the field
- 28:44shall clap their hands. You know. But that's
- 28:51not what this means. That is what it means for
- 28:53us. But we take anything, make it a song. We
- 28:58even put it on our wall. But understand, this
- 29:01is about those who are in Christ. You see, we
- 29:05who have trusted him and his word. who believe
- 29:11in his name, who have inclined and have lived
- 29:15with purpose, obediently with his power and his
- 29:21strength, we can and shall go out in joy and
- 29:25we shall be led forth in peace. When? When it's
- 29:28all done. Because the mountains and the hills
- 29:31shall break forth into singing and all the trees
- 29:34of the field shall clap their hands. When? The
- 29:37earth moans and groans for the day of the saints.
- 29:43Instead of the thorn shall come the cypress.
- 29:46No more thorns and thistles. No more weeds. Instead
- 29:52of the briar shall come up the myrtle. Oh, thank
- 29:55God. I don't know if there's going to be hunting,
- 29:59but I'm sure you'd love to hunt without some
- 30:01briar. It'd be really nice. Why? Because this
- 30:07day, this moment, shall make a name for Yahweh,
- 30:12an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
- 30:16Who is that? Jesus. He is the way, the truth,
- 30:21and the life. So what does Christ say? He says,
- 30:26if you love me, you obey my commands. That's
- 30:30his word. Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness.
- 30:36And all your needs will be taken care of. Doesn't
- 30:40mean that you're not going to go through struggle
- 30:42and hardship during him providing the needs,
- 30:45but he provides the needs anyway. But the problem
- 30:48is that in America, because we have not preached
- 30:52the word, and we have not been consistent with
- 30:55the word, we have developed this softness. And
- 31:03we want... What God has without the suffering
- 31:06required. And the only way to get through suffering
- 31:14is through his word. You have nothing else to
- 31:20stand on. So my challenge to you is, are you
- 31:25hungry and thirsty? Then come to the water. Eat
- 31:32some manna. Be satisfied. How do I get satisfied?
- 31:37Listen diligently. Incline your ear. Hear the
- 31:43word of the Lord. Come to him. Know the word
- 31:49of the Lord that you may know him. He will satisfy.
- 31:55And he will give you all good things. That's
- 32:01the word of the Lord. So my encouragement to
- 32:03you is, may this year, 2026, be a year that you
- 32:07commit to knowing the word. Because that's what
- 32:12we're going to be on all year. So we talked about
- 32:16biblical manhood, biblical womanhood. Now that
- 32:20you know what it means to be a biblical man and
- 32:23a biblical woman, it's time for you to be a biblical
- 32:25man and a biblical woman in the word. Know the
- 32:30word. Be ready to give an answer for the hope
- 32:33you have. Because the days that are coming are
- 32:37going to be very difficult. We'll talk more about
- 32:41a lot of that stuff in the future. Thank you
- 32:44so much. Father, I want to thank you so much
- 32:46for your word. Thank you that your word is living
- 32:50and active, sharper than a two -edged sword.
- 32:51You have given us your word to teach us, to train
- 32:56us, to rebuke us, and to discipline us. Or train
- 33:02us in righteousness. We do praise you and thank
- 33:05you for your word. We thank you that man does
- 33:09not live by bread alone, but by every word that
- 33:12proceeds from your mouth. And you have purposed
- 33:15and that you have succeeded. It will succeed
- 33:21in everything that you have sent it out to do.
- 33:24We praise you that you are our God, our King,
- 33:27and our Savior. May your reign continue to be
- 33:32proclaimed throughout the earth as is promised.
- 33:36And may us as your people be willing to proclaim
- 33:39it loudly. We praise you and thank you in Jesus'
- 33:43name. Amen.
