- 0:07Speaker 1: this time now for Car Talk. Brad dungeas and here
- 0:10Speaker 1: from Dungeons Toyota and you brought friends.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Yes, of course, good morning to all of you out
- 0:14Speaker 2: there listening to us. Thanks for joining us this morning.
- 0:17Speaker 2: You're so We're so glad you're with us.
- 0:19Speaker 3: It's a beautiful morning out there today is it's very
- 0:23Speaker 3: busy at the dealership. We've been taking care of our
- 0:25Speaker 3: customers and having lots of fun. And I've got Katie's
- 0:29Speaker 3: on here from the Bartlesville Regional United Way.
- 0:32Speaker 4: Thank you for having me. I'm so excited to be here.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Glad you're here.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a United Way season and kind of schools
- 0:40Speaker 3: off and running, and you guys have kicked off the campaign,
- 0:43Speaker 3: had some big events already with more to come and
- 0:47Speaker 3: a golf tournament soon.
- 0:48Speaker 4: Oh yes, that's the big thing we're gearing up for
- 0:50Speaker 4: now is our golf tournament, and that's going to come
- 0:52Speaker 4: in just a couple of weeks. I'll be here before
- 0:54Speaker 4: we know it.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:55Speaker 3: No, it's always a big event, one of the biggest fundraisers,
- 0:58Speaker 3: you guys.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Do I think, yes, absolutely.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Thank you to all the sponsors and all the people
- 1:03Speaker 3: that play in that I know that come from all
- 1:05Speaker 3: over and this is one of the ways we draw
- 1:07Speaker 3: in a lot of funds from other people that may
- 1:10Speaker 3: have business relationships with corporations in town and such.
- 1:14Speaker 4: Yeah, so we bring in over nine hundred and fifty golfers,
- 1:17Speaker 4: and I want to say over ninety five percent of
- 1:21Speaker 4: those golfers come from out of town. They are vendors
- 1:25Speaker 4: that work with Contago Phillips, with Phillips sixty six. They
- 1:29Speaker 4: come in, they play golf for a week, They buy
- 1:33Speaker 4: food from our local restaurants, They drink beer at Cooper
- 1:38Speaker 4: and Mills and for other local bars. They go to
- 1:41Speaker 4: Moxie on Second. They spend their dollars here and it
- 1:44Speaker 4: brings a lot of people in that haven't been.
- 1:46Speaker 2: A market really back in town.
- 1:49Speaker 4: Randy John comes back into town for a week. Stresses
- 1:51Speaker 4: him out, but we're so excited he always comes back.
- 1:54Speaker 2: It's good to have you back in town.
- 1:56Speaker 3: And I know he works really hard to help this
- 1:59Speaker 3: golf tournaments lots of money for his old his old home.
- 2:03Speaker 3: And that's that's awesome. Thank you Randy for all that
- 2:07Speaker 3: work for Bartlesville. And and you know, so the campaign
- 2:11Speaker 3: did kick off and you guys had the Luau party.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Out of that.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Yes, so we had on July twenty sixth, we had
- 2:19Speaker 4: our first Aloha after Dark. That was the first time
- 2:22Speaker 4: we've kind of done like an evening fundraiser and we
- 2:25Speaker 4: had a blest with it. Tom can attest to that,
- 2:28Speaker 4: he was there. It was it was fun.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Tom.
- 2:31Speaker 4: I remember we raised just shy of seventy five thousand dollars,
- 2:36Speaker 4: which we're pretty proud of that.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a great.
- 2:39Speaker 4: Yea for our first year fundraiser. We're pretty excited about that.
- 2:42Speaker 4: So it'll be back next year.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 2:46Speaker 3: And then you know, it's so much going on, and
- 2:48Speaker 3: we'll talk about that all the different organizations and and
- 2:52Speaker 3: you know how they support Bartlesville, and you know, there's
- 2:56Speaker 3: so much process behind that too, you know, because they
- 2:58Speaker 3: have to meet certain standard and do lots of things
- 3:01Speaker 3: where you we were talking beforehand about how rich Bartlesville
- 3:05Speaker 3: is in these organizations and they're all kind of interconnected
- 3:08Speaker 3: and you help, you guys, help help with that in
- 3:11Speaker 3: a way and help help you know, well, we we
- 3:15Speaker 3: directly support a lot of these organizations and but you
- 3:18Speaker 3: guys allow for individuals and everybody to kind of support
- 3:21Speaker 3: them all in a broader way and help focus activity.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Like we chose to be the the.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Youth Opportunity sponsor one of those this year, and just
- 3:31Speaker 3: because that's one of the themes we'd love to promote
- 3:35Speaker 3: youth opportunity in Bartlesville. And so how's that that's a
- 3:39Speaker 3: little different approach to to sponsorships.
- 3:42Speaker 4: Yeah, so the way that Yeah, so the way that
- 3:45Speaker 4: we work is we all the money that is raised
- 3:47Speaker 4: from our annual campaign goes towards funding a percentage of
- 3:52Speaker 4: programs from these partner agencies. So we like to say
- 3:56Speaker 4: we fund programs and not agencies because certain certain partner
- 4:02Speaker 4: agencies have different programs that they apply to get funding for.
- 4:06Speaker 2: So it's specific to a part of their operation run.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Yes, and so it is they are programs that enter
- 4:13Speaker 4: into health, financial security, youth opportunity, and then community resiliency.
- 4:19Speaker 4: So those are things like Boys and Girls Club that
- 4:22Speaker 4: falls under youth opportunity. We also have Boys and Girls
- 4:24Speaker 4: Club and no WATA Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, just to
- 4:27Speaker 4: name a few. And so that is a whole process
- 4:31Speaker 4: that we just actually wrapped up. We are wonderful CiCe
- 4:36Speaker 4: Committee just wrap those up and we're meeting with partner
- 4:39Speaker 4: agencies now. But it's a committee of over ninety that
- 4:43Speaker 4: vet these applications for these programs and they decide do
- 4:48Speaker 4: they get full funding, do they get partial funding? What
- 4:51Speaker 4: do we want to give them?
- 4:52Speaker 3: So it's specific to programs and they apply for come
- 4:55Speaker 3: up with something, commit.
- 4:58Speaker 4: Meet a specific and it is at very stringent process
- 5:01Speaker 4: because we want to make sure that any money that
- 5:03Speaker 4: we give them is going to be used for the
- 5:05Speaker 4: things that we want it to be used for. We take,
- 5:08Speaker 4: you know, the donor dollars very seriously, and so we
- 5:11Speaker 4: make sure that if they say they're going to use
- 5:13Speaker 4: it for the kids that come through their programs, then
- 5:15Speaker 4: that's what they do with it. And so we make
- 5:18Speaker 4: sure that every dollar is accounted for with these with
- 5:21Speaker 4: these programs. And so we just wrap that all up
- 5:23Speaker 4: and now we're back into the annual campaign to fundraise
- 5:27Speaker 4: for next year.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Well that's a great segue to the next question I had,
- 5:30Speaker 3: which is what is the goal this year?
- 5:32Speaker 2: What's the annual campaign goal?
- 5:34Speaker 4: Yeah, so this year it is two point two five million.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Wow.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Yeah, so we're it's it's a high number, but we
- 5:41Speaker 4: are excited and we think that the community will rally together.
- 5:45Speaker 4: We've got you know, we just did our Louwout fundraiser.
- 5:47Speaker 4: We've got the golf tournament coming up in two weeks,
- 5:50Speaker 4: and then we're going to be doing a Pie in
- 5:51Speaker 4: the Face contest coming up too. So yeah, we did
- 5:54Speaker 4: that last year. We got to bring it back this year,
- 5:56Speaker 4: and we're excited to see if the community will rally
- 5:58Speaker 4: together for that.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Of course, there's stuff going on all through a lot
- 6:02Speaker 3: of different organizations have their own campaigns going and all
- 6:06Speaker 3: kinds of opportunity for matching gifts and things like that
- 6:10Speaker 3: that people need to leverage and their organizations and and
- 6:14Speaker 3: you know, so anyway, that's everybody get behind that. I
- 6:17Speaker 3: know you mentioned all the people that help vet the organizations.
- 6:21Speaker 3: It's a lot of volunteers involved in what you guys do,
- 6:26Speaker 3: and you know, it really takes the whole community to
- 6:29Speaker 3: kind of do do that.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Just yeah, so we have over ninety people and they
- 6:33Speaker 4: get divided into these different committees, these subcommittees, but it's
- 6:37Speaker 4: all run by Warren Result and John Saltzman. They do
- 6:40Speaker 4: an incredible job every year with keeping track of everything,
- 6:43Speaker 4: making sure everything is going as smoothly as it can.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Questions are being answered. But yeah, it's ninety people in
- 6:49Speaker 4: our community that come together and say, hey, I want
- 6:51Speaker 4: to help.
- 6:52Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 6:54Speaker 3: And I was thinking this morning too about the parallel
- 6:57Speaker 3: between what you guys do and what we do at
- 6:59Speaker 3: the dealership was not obvious, obvious and necessarily but you know,
- 7:04Speaker 3: we've been, you know, working to our customers.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Supporting us locally.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Is what's allowed us to be around for ninety five
- 7:11Speaker 3: years as a small business, small family owned business for
- 7:14Speaker 3: four generations. Is the world's changed through all kinds of
- 7:19Speaker 3: things that you know we are.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I mean, I.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Can't even begin to list them all in ninety five years, right,
- 7:24Speaker 3: but just think over the last ten and you know,
- 7:27Speaker 3: you think about think about that and the choices people
- 7:30Speaker 3: make to buy from a local business, and they need
- 7:34Speaker 3: to make these same choices and funding local organizations that
- 7:38Speaker 3: make this community strong.
- 7:40Speaker 2: You know that the.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Buying local and supporting local organizations is so important in Bartlesville.
- 7:45Speaker 3: And I just we do not take that for granted
- 7:48Speaker 3: at DUNEUS Toyota. And you know, I think that's just
- 7:52Speaker 3: that was what I wanted to say. We don't take
- 7:54Speaker 3: you guys for grantity.
- 7:56Speaker 4: Either well, and I think COVID really showed us that,
- 7:59Speaker 4: you know, you could be in a really good position
- 8:01Speaker 4: one day and then the next day, you know, something
- 8:03Speaker 4: like COVID could come along, and then you could find
- 8:05Speaker 4: yourself without a job, without you know, access to groceries,
- 8:09Speaker 4: and then you need these partner agencies that you've been
- 8:12Speaker 4: funding before. So everybody could end up in a position
- 8:16Speaker 4: where they need help.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Of course.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Yeah, and you know, and there are so many great
- 8:20Speaker 3: organizations in our town that meet that need.
- 8:24Speaker 2: And that's how many organizations are.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Does the United Way support or programs at these organizations now?
- 8:33Speaker 4: So right now I believe that we sit at fifteen,
- 8:37Speaker 4: But then we do have our Rise grant that opens
- 8:41Speaker 4: up and about October. October November is when we typically
- 8:44Speaker 4: open it up, and that is a smaller grant and
- 8:47Speaker 4: that allows us to help other nonprofits that are not
- 8:50Speaker 4: part of our partner agency network for smaller things. You know,
- 8:56Speaker 4: perhaps they need some transportation for kids to get to
- 8:59Speaker 4: a program. Some of those things that.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Each size grants are those times.
- 9:04Speaker 4: So those technically are kind of mini grants, but it's
- 9:07Speaker 4: ten thousand dollars are under and so that is something
- 9:11Speaker 4: that is pending board approval. You know, we hope every
- 9:14Speaker 4: year that we're able to do it.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Of course, you got to raise the money.
- 9:17Speaker 4: Exactly, so it's all depending on the money. But you know,
- 9:20Speaker 4: our whole goal is to help as many people as
- 9:22Speaker 4: we can through as many programs as we can. So
- 9:25Speaker 4: you know, our board is fantastic and really pushes for
- 9:28Speaker 4: these grants.
- 9:29Speaker 2: That's outstanding. I didn't know that those were around. That's
- 9:32Speaker 2: that's cool.
- 9:33Speaker 3: I mean there's been a lot of change in these
- 9:35Speaker 3: last few years, and you know, i'd ways continue to evolve,
- 9:39Speaker 3: just like we do at the dealership. That's what one
- 9:41Speaker 3: thing about not taking that for granted is you've got
- 9:43Speaker 3: to continually be trying to we do our focused on
- 9:47Speaker 3: you know, the service we provide our customers, giving them
- 9:50Speaker 3: a great experience when they buy their car, you know,
- 9:53Speaker 3: focused on really delivering to their expectations. And and you know,
- 9:58Speaker 3: I know that's you know, again parallel to what you
- 10:00Speaker 3: guys are trying to do with the vetting of the
- 10:03Speaker 3: organizations and trying to really connect and support the community
- 10:07Speaker 3: in a great way and make those dollars kind of multiply.
- 10:11Speaker 3: I think a way through the giving that we do
- 10:14Speaker 3: and yeah, that's really cool. Another thing going on with
- 10:20Speaker 3: the dealership we are it is the model year end season,
- 10:24Speaker 3: So as the United Way kicks off, we start getting
- 10:27Speaker 3: our twenty twenty six toyotas and we've had a few
- 10:31Speaker 3: arrive already, I think Prius and a few others, and
- 10:35Speaker 3: then we got we've got our first allocation of the
- 10:38Speaker 3: twenty six corollas and cameras. It'll keep going for a
- 10:41Speaker 3: few months. Everyone is interested in the new Rat four,
- 10:44Speaker 3: which will be here probably closer to the end of
- 10:47Speaker 3: the year. We've getten lots of questions about that. It's
- 10:50Speaker 3: been redesigned and it's one of our best selling vehicles already.
- 10:54Speaker 3: We're real excited to have that vehicle out. We've got
- 10:57Speaker 3: a great inventory right now because, uh, you know, we
- 11:01Speaker 3: just we've been growing this year and it uh you know,
- 11:04Speaker 3: not necessarily keeping more vehicles on the ground, but we
- 11:06Speaker 3: keep growing the number we're selling. The selling a lot
- 11:09Speaker 3: of them out of the pipeline, and but we're starting
- 11:12Speaker 3: to get a few more that that kind of make
- 11:15Speaker 3: it through that process and are sticking around. We got
- 11:17Speaker 3: just some really cool vehicles recently a new Tacoma Trail Hunter,
- 11:22Speaker 3: which is a brand new trim level with a bunch
- 11:25Speaker 3: of really great accessories.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it's unique, isn't for everyone. It's out.
- 11:32Speaker 3: It has a snorcle on it with that actually is
- 11:35Speaker 3: an operating thing that ties to the air airflow of
- 11:39Speaker 3: the vehicle, and you can actually hear it when you're driving.
- 11:42Speaker 3: So it's kind of if you've ever driven a turbocharged
- 11:45Speaker 3: car with a with the blowoff valve, it kind of
- 11:48Speaker 3: sounds like that.
- 11:51Speaker 5: You know, it's not for everyone, but it is really
- 11:55Speaker 5: fun to drive, and it's got great equipment on the
- 11:59Speaker 5: bed where you can put all of your stuff, whether.
- 12:02Speaker 3: It's a you know, I don't know, kayaks or paddle boards,
- 12:07Speaker 3: bike racks, tents, uh, you know, sleeping arrangements of all
- 12:11Speaker 3: sorts of crazy what people do in their cars. Now,
- 12:15Speaker 3: another one I like a lot is the TRD Pro Tundra.
- 12:19Speaker 3: We actually have two really nice Tundras right now, a
- 12:21Speaker 3: TRD Pro White.
- 12:23Speaker 2: It's beautiful.
- 12:24Speaker 3: TRD Pro again, specialized vehicle, not for everyone. Has a
- 12:29Speaker 3: modified suspension system, a lift kit, all kinds of off
- 12:34Speaker 3: roading equipment. It really is a sporting vehicle meant to
- 12:38Speaker 3: be used, fun to drive.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I have a TRD bro Squaia I'm driving now.
- 12:45Speaker 2: At first I was like a.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Little I thought it was a little rough and you know,
- 12:49Speaker 3: because it is built to be used like that. But
- 12:52Speaker 3: then when I took it to Colorado this summer, I
- 12:54Speaker 3: was like, I think, I think I'm going to keep this.
- 13:00Speaker 3: The other Thunder is seventeen ninety four and a really
- 13:04Speaker 3: unique color. I can't remember what it's called that. It's
- 13:07Speaker 3: kind of a pastel green muted though not bright at all.
- 13:13Speaker 3: I'm really a cool, cool looking under seventeen ninety four
- 13:19Speaker 3: to the year. The Tundra where the ranch where the
- 13:24Speaker 3: Thunder is built in San Antonio actually was called that
- 13:28Speaker 3: seventeen ninety four. And we're actually sending one of our
- 13:32Speaker 3: our managers, damned.
- 13:33Speaker 2: To the Toyota to a thunder a plant in Octo
- 13:38Speaker 2: early October.
- 13:39Speaker 3: He's going to get a chance to go down there
- 13:40Speaker 3: and watching being built, get to drive them on a
- 13:44Speaker 3: specialized road, and really learn about the tundra and how
- 13:50Speaker 3: it's going to be awesome when he comes back and
- 13:51Speaker 3: can share as I've been down there a few years
- 13:54Speaker 3: ago when they opened up the thunder plant and it's
- 13:57Speaker 3: really incredible how Toyota builds vehicles. The plant, it's pretty
- 14:03Speaker 3: much all the parts suppliers around it, so they there's
- 14:07Speaker 3: not I mean, some things are shipped in to them,
- 14:09Speaker 3: but they're assembled there and it's it's uh, they're famous
- 14:13Speaker 3: for their manufacturing systems, but it's it's just in time delivery,
- 14:17Speaker 3: so there's not a lot of inventory.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Laying around there. Everything is moving. You know.
- 14:22Speaker 3: They're famous for the quality of their build and if
- 14:25Speaker 3: something is wrong, they stop building things and fix it
- 14:29Speaker 3: before they keep going. You know, I just so impressed
- 14:32Speaker 3: with them and how they got deal with warranty and
- 14:36Speaker 3: things like that. You know, if you know, all vehicles
- 14:39Speaker 3: have problems occasionally, but when when a Toyota does, Twitter
- 14:43Speaker 3: really steps.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Up and backs that vehicle. I'm really proud to represent them.
- 14:48Speaker 3: They're great brand, very dependable, right, they sure are, and
- 14:52Speaker 3: great value too. They do hold their resale value among
- 14:57Speaker 3: the best of all all brands, and particularly the Coma.
- 15:01Speaker 2: That's one of those.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Anomalies that it's so odd that it just doesn't seem
- 15:06Speaker 3: to lose its value.
- 15:07Speaker 2: And I think Tacoma residual after two years the.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Technical term in the car business, but it's seventy percent
- 15:15Speaker 3: of it's a really regional value after two years. A
- 15:18Speaker 3: lot of vehicles lose that first thirty percent in the
- 15:22Speaker 3: first few months of pretty.
- 15:24Speaker 6: Much around the block exactly.
- 15:27Speaker 7: Well, the thing is, it's tough and it looks good. Yeah, no,
- 15:30Speaker 7: it's great, and it goes and it's functional. It's the
- 15:33Speaker 7: right size truck these days. You know, it's not too big,
- 15:37Speaker 7: not too small.
- 15:37Speaker 3: It's got a lot of functionality, it's comfortable to drive,
- 15:41Speaker 3: it's different ways to set it up.
- 15:44Speaker 2: You know.
- 15:45Speaker 3: It comes to ranges in price from I mean the
- 15:47Speaker 3: trail Hunter is all fixed up. It's I think around
- 15:51Speaker 3: sixty something like that. But you can get nice tacomas
- 15:54Speaker 3: in the in the thirty five thousand and thirty seven
- 15:58Speaker 3: thousand dollars range and get me to buy it.
- 16:01Speaker 4: To come yes, well, I mean he just goes.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Well, you know, you know where we are out of
- 16:06Speaker 3: our vehicles.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Yeah, no doubt about it. And you know that's one
- 16:11Speaker 2: great thing about too, is they do.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Demand has exceeded supply for quite a while now, and
- 16:18Speaker 3: for for since really before COVID, and I guess the
- 16:22Speaker 3: fast sales are really what we've got to get used to,
- 16:25Speaker 3: and it's going to be kind of different.
- 16:27Speaker 2: From now on.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Yeah, but anyway, back to the United Way, I want
- 16:32Speaker 3: to go over what you've got planned for the rest
- 16:34Speaker 3: of the year and and other events that are coming up.
- 16:37Speaker 3: I know you mentioned, I know the golf tournament is
- 16:39Speaker 3: next or it's and it's big. Takes tons of planning
- 16:42Speaker 3: and logistics. Probably pretty much set on who's going to
- 16:45Speaker 3: play at this point.
- 16:46Speaker 4: Yeah, So, as far as I know, it is sold out.
- 16:51Speaker 4: I think there's still a handful of people who are
- 16:53Speaker 4: still trying to get in.
- 16:55Speaker 6: Yes, so they're on the bubble. They are little playing action.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Some we could call Kobe out of the dealership. I
- 17:04Speaker 2: think he's still assembling our team.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Well, there you go.
- 17:07Speaker 4: Yeah, so it is sold out. The goal this year
- 17:12Speaker 4: is to break a million. We did that last year,
- 17:14Speaker 4: so I think we're hoping to do that again and
- 17:17Speaker 4: exceeded a bit. You know, we always wow, don't him
- 17:20Speaker 4: too too high? Yeah, but well it's.
- 17:23Speaker 3: An awfully big part of this that total. Yeah, when
- 17:26Speaker 3: you think about it, Yeah, this is a big, big,
- 17:28Speaker 3: important part of the whole campaign.
- 17:30Speaker 4: Yes, And when Randy first brought this up and he
- 17:34Speaker 4: started it, it only raised about eight thousand dollars. So
- 17:37Speaker 4: we went from eight thousand dollars I believe twenty two
- 17:41Speaker 4: years ago to now being I think last year was
- 17:45Speaker 4: one point two million that was raised.
- 17:47Speaker 3: Such probably one of the largest fundraisers in Bartersville every year.
- 17:51Speaker 4: Probably, yeah, and one of the highest ones for United
- 17:56Speaker 4: Ways in Oklahoma. I think Tulsa farser passed us. But
- 18:01Speaker 4: for some of the smaller United Ways, it's it's a
- 18:03Speaker 4: pretty big one. And again, like you know, I said previously,
- 18:07Speaker 4: it's a big deal for our town too. So it's
- 18:09Speaker 4: not just as that benefits well, that's.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Back to the by local and support the sponsors of
- 18:15Speaker 3: these organizations in our community and the United Way to
- 18:18Speaker 3: really I want to.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Encourage everybody to take note of that, and really it.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Is important that that's an important part of the fabric
- 18:26Speaker 3: of our community. And you know, these great long term
- 18:30Speaker 3: sponsors you guys have had for so many years, and
- 18:34Speaker 3: you know, it's shifted it through the years in decades
- 18:37Speaker 3: as the big companies have evolved and changed, but they
- 18:40Speaker 3: continue to support the United Way and all their employee networks.
- 18:46Speaker 3: I mean, that's another thing that we don't want to
- 18:49Speaker 3: forget about, is all the volunteer days and other opportunities
- 18:54Speaker 3: for people.
- 18:54Speaker 4: To give yeah, so, and we like to say, you know,
- 18:57Speaker 4: just because you you might not have a lot of
- 19:00Speaker 4: money to give, but you have time and you can volunteer.
- 19:02Speaker 4: And so one of our big things that we do
- 19:04Speaker 4: is Day of Caring and that is September twenty fourth.
- 19:06Speaker 4: This year. We had a little over sixty five projects
- 19:11Speaker 4: this year and I think we have a little less
- 19:14Speaker 4: than ten left. And it is groups of people from
- 19:17Speaker 4: these bigger companies. We've got groups of people from smaller
- 19:21Speaker 4: companies that they shut down the office on the day
- 19:23Speaker 4: and they go volunteer. But it's it's with any nonprofit.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Any five oh one seed three in town can sign
- 19:29Speaker 4: up for these and they just say, hey, we need
- 19:31Speaker 4: help with these projects. It's things that they might not
- 19:33Speaker 4: be able to do on their own where they don't
- 19:35Speaker 4: have time to do it. And so these teams of
- 19:38Speaker 4: volunteers get together. We give them a free T shirt.
- 19:40Speaker 4: We always like to you know, rep that a little bit.
- 19:43Speaker 4: We you know, people like free T shirts, So we
- 19:45Speaker 4: give them a free T shirt and we say, hey,
- 19:47Speaker 4: go spend some time volunteering. And everybody in our community
- 19:50Speaker 4: loves it. They look forward to it every year. It's
- 19:52Speaker 4: become quite a competition to get a project. We open
- 19:57Speaker 4: them at nine o'clock in the morning and they, I
- 20:00Speaker 4: want to say, probably about seventy five percent gets snagged
- 20:03Speaker 4: within thirty minutes.
- 20:04Speaker 6: Wow.
- 20:05Speaker 4: From our website. Yeah, it's become quite a competition. But
- 20:09Speaker 4: it's just really fantastic to see these companies say hey,
- 20:13Speaker 4: I want to pay you to go volunteer and to
- 20:15Speaker 4: make a difference, because, like we've been talking about, it's community,
- 20:19Speaker 4: building community and supporting those around us.
- 20:22Speaker 2: And does some of them match the time with money yes.
- 20:25Speaker 4: Yeah, that great. Yeah, and it's just saying like hey,
- 20:28Speaker 4: we might not be able to make a huge contribution,
- 20:31Speaker 4: but we can donate our time, we can donate our
- 20:33Speaker 4: employees time, and we can have a great time doing it.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Yeah. That's really cool. Yeah that's so. Is there anything else?
- 20:43Speaker 4: Well, so we how much time to do?
- 20:46Speaker 6: Well?
- 20:47Speaker 4: We didn't. We didn't pack our our campaign too much
- 20:50Speaker 4: this year. But we do have Pine the Face contest
- 20:52Speaker 4: that's coming up, and I can say we have three
- 20:55Speaker 4: confirmed contestants so far. We're still working on the other three,
- 20:59Speaker 4: but Aaron Kirkpatrick from City Council is going to be
- 21:03Speaker 4: one of them. Yes, Cory Nelson from our Vest. Yeah,
- 21:08Speaker 4: we're big fans of hers. And then Chuck McCauley, he's
- 21:12Speaker 4: gonna kinda he's going to kick off his his last year.
- 21:17Speaker 4: He's gonna he's gonna go out with the bag.
- 21:19Speaker 2: So I bet that raises some money.
- 21:22Speaker 4: Yeah, we're really excited. We've got some fantastic ideas from
- 21:26Speaker 4: some of our ktest.
- 21:27Speaker 3: If anyone wants to get a pie in the face,
- 21:29Speaker 3: they need to raise their hand and yeah, yeah sure,
- 21:34Speaker 3: I don't know when that is, but I don't think
- 21:36Speaker 3: I'm available.
- 21:38Speaker 4: Well we're very visible with you, but yeah, so.
- 21:42Speaker 3: We's so you you probably go find them and put there.
- 21:47Speaker 4: We do so yeah, so we So voting will begin.
- 21:52Speaker 4: Last year, we had Chris Batch Elder, he was the
- 21:55Speaker 4: one who got the least amount of votes. He was
- 21:58Speaker 4: a trooper. We had Jamie Yeah, it was fun. And
- 22:04Speaker 4: we had Jamie Immota from Connica Phillips. He took a
- 22:07Speaker 4: pie to the face from his lovely wife Jacqueline. That
- 22:10Speaker 4: was fun and I mean they were troopers. They were fantastic.
- 22:14Speaker 4: They enjoyed it as much as we did. And so
- 22:16Speaker 4: we're excited to have it back. But voting will be
- 22:18Speaker 4: September fifteenth through the thirtieth online, So just check out
- 22:22Speaker 4: our social media for more information. We'll keep you posted
- 22:25Speaker 4: all through there.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Awesome, we'll be checking that out and hope we can
- 22:29Speaker 3: avoid getting a pie in the face.
- 22:31Speaker 6: Wow, like getting plopped, you know.
- 22:36Speaker 4: Yeah, Lisa has fun doing it. Yeah, she does does.
- 22:40Speaker 6: She's got that kind of a little utery streak in
- 22:42Speaker 6: her anyway.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Yeah, she was really excited when she heard Chris Boucheldon
- 22:45Speaker 4: was getting the pie. She was like, oh, she was
- 22:48Speaker 4: excited about that one.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Well.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Shout out to Lisa and the rest of the staff
- 22:53Speaker 3: at the United Way. I know that you guys work
- 22:55Speaker 3: hard all year and thinking about Bartlesville.
- 22:59Speaker 2: All the time.
- 23:00Speaker 4: We are a small but mighty team. Lisa carries our
- 23:03Speaker 4: president CEO O. Shelley Dugan is executive assistant, and then
- 23:08Speaker 4: Jony Hall is our vice president. So and then there's me.
- 23:11Speaker 4: So we you know, are of us, but you know,
- 23:14Speaker 4: and we have a fantastic board and a fantastic network
- 23:16Speaker 4: of volunteers and fantastic sponsors like Dungeons Toyota to help
- 23:21Speaker 4: us out and to kind of fill the gaps where
- 23:23Speaker 4: we can't.
- 23:24Speaker 3: We love to support you guys and are glad to
- 23:26Speaker 3: be involved and all our employees, uh you know every year.
- 23:29Speaker 2: You know, it's hard for us sometimes.
- 23:31Speaker 3: To get out and do the volunteer stuff and all that,
- 23:34Speaker 3: but they they love to be involved in all this stuff.
- 23:37Speaker 3: And believe me, they're behind everything we do.
- 23:40Speaker 4: And they are well, we love having you guys, you know,
- 23:42Speaker 4: to the golf tournament too.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Well, we'll be we'll be out there and excited to
- 23:45Speaker 3: see Randy again and welcome him back to town. And we'll
- 23:50Speaker 3: see how the golf gave that up a few years ago.
- 23:54Speaker 3: So I won't be out there scaring everybody. But uh,
- 23:58Speaker 3: you know, I got tired of going in the world.
- 24:00Speaker 3: It's looking through the ball.
- 24:04Speaker 1: I always thought that was a ground rule double then
- 24:06Speaker 1: they said, no, this is golf.
- 24:08Speaker 6: That's a two stroke pedal.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Anyway that you guys can dream about that imagine that.
- 24:16Speaker 3: As I said, we're off and running at the dealership today.
- 24:19Speaker 3: If you need a service, be sure to you know,
- 24:22Speaker 3: I just recommend you go online and schedule your appointment there.

- 24:30Speaker 8: You can let us know through there what you think
- 24:32Speaker 8: you need, or if you don't know, tell us that
- 24:35Speaker 8: you can find your car if you've been in before,

- 26:12Speaker 3: I'm pretty certain. And then we've also got wild Brew
