- 0:37Speaker 1: Hey, thanks for joining us on this Tuesday afternoon. We
- 0:42Speaker 1: have got a veritable plethora of different topics to talk about.
- 0:47Speaker 1: We're gonna hear from Bucky. They have to go to
- 0:51Speaker 1: Payetnam tomorrow. We've got a high school report. In this hour.
- 0:57Speaker 1: We're going to be joined by Dan and Laura Dotson
- 1:02Speaker 1: of A and E Storage Wars. A new season begins
- 1:06Speaker 1: on Saturday. Pay the Lady. We will visit with them
- 1:11Speaker 1: coming up in this hour. In the second hour fifteen
- 1:16Speaker 1: minutes short, Aggie Baseball pregame at five point forty five.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Mallory will be here at the top of the hour,
- 1:26Speaker 1: and we're gonna hear from Ryland Griffin as well. So
- 1:30Speaker 1: that's kind of what's ahead right now for the show.
- 1:37Speaker 1: As I mentioned, Aggie Baseball tonight against Lamar, I don't
- 1:43Speaker 1: have my reading glasses. I don't know what happened to them.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I don't know if I didn't get here with them.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I've searched every nook and cranny, So this is going
- 1:56Speaker 1: to be challenging, I would say. And then I always
- 2:03Speaker 1: keep an extra pair in my drawer in my office.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Well someone stole those. They're worth about fifty cents. I
- 2:14Speaker 1: don't think anybody stole them. I just don't know what
- 2:16Speaker 1: happened to them. Anyway, We've got Baseball tonight six o'clock.
- 2:22Speaker 1: This is the last of the eight game homestand and
- 2:30Speaker 1: then we've got the Baseball Classic at Global Life right
- 2:37Speaker 1: up in Arlington, and A and M is going to
- 2:42Speaker 1: play the number one team UCLA this coming weekend on Saturday,
- 2:50Speaker 1: I believe, I think that's right Saturday. They play Virginia
- 2:55Speaker 1: Tech on Friday. Those are seven o'clock games. The Arizona
- 3:00Speaker 1: State game is six point thirty on Sunday. Then they'll
- 3:08Speaker 1: come back, they'll play five at home, and then the
- 3:12Speaker 1: SEC starts in the middle of the month. It's quick.
- 3:15Speaker 1: It's coming up quick. A m of course. Over the
- 3:19Speaker 1: weekend swept so they're seven to oh to start, and
- 3:25Speaker 1: they're trying to go eight to no against those Lamar
- 3:28Speaker 1: Cardinals tonight. And let me see if i can throw
- 3:34Speaker 1: in a couple of other things. I'm gonna see. Yeah,
- 3:39Speaker 1: they've played forty one times. The Aggies have won thirty
- 3:45Speaker 1: three of the forty one. Okay, Lamar traditionally is pretty
- 3:48Speaker 1: good in baseball, and they've won twenty two here at home,
- 3:57Speaker 1: ten on the road. So we'll see what happens. You
- 4:08Speaker 1: can purchase this is a pretty good deal, by the way,
- 4:10Speaker 1: I'm just seeing this. You've got to do it online.
- 4:14Speaker 1: You can't do it at the stadium. But if you
- 4:16Speaker 1: pay full price for a general mission ticket, you get
- 4:19Speaker 1: the second one free. Yeah, so two for I like that.
- 4:25Speaker 1: USA team manager Mark Durosa says Trek Scuble is going
- 4:37Speaker 1: to pitch for Team USA and the World Baseball Classic.
- 4:41Speaker 1: That's the good news. Here's the bad news. He's making
- 4:45Speaker 1: one start. The reason I didn't announce it earlier, said Schooble.
- 4:51Speaker 1: I wanted to keep the momentum on the WBC. But
- 4:54Speaker 1: I'm just making one start. I'll stick around for a
- 4:58Speaker 1: few games. I have it to determine what games I'm
- 5:01Speaker 1: going to watch. If they go to the finals, I'm
- 5:04Speaker 1: going to try at lobby to go watch and be
- 5:07Speaker 1: with the guys. His comments came on the day his
- 5:13Speaker 1: first spring training appearance for the Tigers, So Deuroza's got
- 5:20Speaker 1: to I guess he figures. I guess what he's saying is,
- 5:23Speaker 1: I'm going to make the start, start the first game,
- 5:29Speaker 1: and then you'll see what you're missing the rest of
- 5:31Speaker 1: the way. I'm pretty I pretty much know what they're missing.
- 5:34Speaker 1: By the way, you know, probably the best pitcher in
- 5:38Speaker 1: baseball right now. We've got SEC basketball tonight. Kentucky's at
- 5:45Speaker 1: South Carolina, Auburn at Oklahoma, Tennessee at Missouri. Okay. Those
- 5:53Speaker 1: are the three games involving the SEC teams. Duke visits
- 5:59Speaker 1: Notre Dame, North Carolina State at number eleven, Virginia Cincinnati
- 6:06Speaker 1: at number sixteen, Texas Tech, Minnesota visits number three Michigan.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Arizona ranked second is in Waco to play Baylor. Iowa
- 6:17Speaker 1: State ranked fourth is in Salt Lake City to play Utah.
- 6:23Speaker 1: And Central Florida's at Brigham Young last night. This is
- 6:30Speaker 1: pretty amazing. Kansas coach Bill Self won his forty first
- 6:38Speaker 1: Big Monday game at Allen Field House without a loss.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Self is forty one at oh at home on Big Mondays.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Do you understand how hard that is? Do you understand?
- 6:56Speaker 1: Big Mondays are the showcase? So Kansas in those forty
- 7:00Speaker 1: one games haven't played many cupcakes, you know, Like last
- 7:07Speaker 1: night was Houston. Houston lost for the third straight game.
- 7:12Speaker 1: It's the first time in nine years they've lost three
- 7:17Speaker 1: in a row. That was early in the Calvin Sampson tenure.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I'm not gonna say uston as the problems. They've lost
- 7:28Speaker 1: to good teams. All three games are to good teams, right,
- 7:33Speaker 1: but they are not defending the way Kelvin Sampson wants
- 7:39Speaker 1: them to defend. By the way, Houston only scored fifty
- 7:43Speaker 1: six and that was some kind of record low for them.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Kansas can play defense when they want to. Peterson played
- 7:52Speaker 1: which is amazing. You know, most of the game, hit
- 7:58Speaker 1: a clutch three down the stretch. Don't know what you're
- 8:00Speaker 1: getting for him. He was allowed to talk to the
- 8:09Speaker 1: media or forced to talk to the media yesterday. I
- 8:12Speaker 1: think he said about six words, called himself a loaner,
- 8:20Speaker 1: and you can see he does not like to talk.
- 8:24Speaker 1: His dad had the great quote, if you're going it's
- 8:30Speaker 1: something to the effect that if you're going to have
- 8:34Speaker 1: a pure river, you also have to be ready for mud.
- 8:40Speaker 1: That was weird. There's been lots of mud with Peterson.
- 8:44Speaker 1: I have said, and I still believe this. I think
- 8:49Speaker 1: Kansas better team without Peterson. I think they play together more.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I don't think the teammates think they can count on him,
- 8:58Speaker 1: because they can't. I just think Kansas is better without him.
- 9:04Speaker 1: I know, stupid number one player, but hey, I mean
- 9:12Speaker 1: it's obvious the family and the agent are calling the
- 9:16Speaker 1: shots here, right. They're allowing him to play certain number
- 9:21Speaker 1: of minutes a lot of times he hadn't played at all.
- 9:26Speaker 1: It's a weird situation. The SEC has fined Kentucky basketball
- 9:31Speaker 1: coach Mark Pope twenty five gerr for quote his postgame
- 9:37Speaker 1: conduct and comments following the last second loss at Auburn
- 9:43Speaker 1: Saturday night. Elijah Freeman's tip in with one point one
- 9:48Speaker 1: seconds was the game winner and followed a controversial offensive
- 9:52Speaker 1: foul call against Colin Chandler that set up the game
- 9:56Speaker 1: winner winner. As he was leaving the podium postgame, he said, Mitch,
- 10:04Speaker 1: addressing Mitch Barnhardt, the athletic director, if those bleep bleepers
- 10:10Speaker 1: try to find me, screw them, because I did not
- 10:13Speaker 1: say a word about how they cheated us, and he
- 10:21Speaker 1: hadn't until then, but he said it from the microphones.
- 10:27Speaker 1: University of Kentucky men's basketball coach Martin Pope has been
- 10:31Speaker 1: issued a public reprimand and fined twenty five thousand dollars
- 10:36Speaker 1: by the SEC Conference for postgame conduct and comments related
- 10:41Speaker 1: to officiating following the Wildcats game at Auburn University on
- 10:45Speaker 1: February twenty first. The comments violated SEC Bilo ten dot
- 10:53Speaker 1: five dot three and the SEC Commissioner's Regulation regarding Public
- 10:59Speaker 1: Criticism of Officials, which prohibit coaches, student athletes, and institutional
- 11:04Speaker 1: staff from publicly criticizing officials or disclosing officiating related communications. Hey,
- 11:13Speaker 1: I've said it over and over and over, and I
- 11:16Speaker 1: will use this opportunity to say it again, the officiating
- 11:19Speaker 1: in this league is awful. I watch a lot of
- 11:24Speaker 1: college basketball, and I'm telling you far and away, this
- 11:30Speaker 1: league is the worst when it comes to officials, and
- 11:35Speaker 1: it should not be that way. They are not held
- 11:39Speaker 1: publicly accountable. I haven't seen any statement by the league
- 11:44Speaker 1: office supporting or detracting from that call that was made
- 11:53Speaker 1: in the last seconds of that game which led to
- 11:56Speaker 1: the Auburn victory. Now there's always calls at it in
- 12:00Speaker 1: one point game. You can have ten or fifteen calls
- 12:03Speaker 1: you can go back and look at. But it seems
- 12:07Speaker 1: to me with this crop of officials, there are always
- 12:12Speaker 1: a lot of calls to discuss and talk about. They
- 12:16Speaker 1: are horrible. So if you're keeping score, SEC football officiating horrible.
- 12:25Speaker 1: SEC basketball officiating horrible. SEC baseball officiating not great. So
- 12:39Speaker 1: let's do something about that. If the league is the best,
- 12:46Speaker 1: why not have the best officials. It's a hard game.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I look, I get that it's a hard job. Basketball
- 12:54Speaker 1: is the toughest because the crowd's right on you. I
- 12:56Speaker 1: get that you've got super slow motion instant replay, which
- 13:01Speaker 1: I hate. But like I said, I watch a lot
- 13:07Speaker 1: of college basketball I'm not saying there aren't bad officials
- 13:13Speaker 1: in other leagues. I'm just saying that as a league,
- 13:18Speaker 1: this league is way behind in the quality of officiating.
- 13:27Speaker 1: There were NHL people weren't crazy about NHL players playing
- 13:32Speaker 1: in the Olympics, and the main reason being injuries. There
- 13:39Speaker 1: have been several injured players, not the least of which
- 13:42Speaker 1: is the Dallas Stars highest priced player, Miko Rantman from Finland.
- 13:50Speaker 1: He was hurt he did not play in the bronze
- 13:52Speaker 1: medal game. He's been placed on the ir and now
- 13:57Speaker 1: coach Clint Gullickson says Miko Ratnan will miss at least
- 14:02Speaker 1: two weeks, possibly longer. He said he'll be back before
- 14:09Speaker 1: the end of the season. So not good news for
- 14:14Speaker 1: the Dallas Stars. All right, I'm going to take a break.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Bucket Ball coming up as portion of the program brought
- 14:22Speaker 1: to you by a.

- 15:33Speaker 5: To the town of our three who wrote a strange
- 15:36Speaker 5: to one find Ay hardly spoke to folks around him,
- 15:42Speaker 5: didn't have too much to say. No one dared to
- 15:47Speaker 5: ask his business, no one dared to make a slip.
- 15:50Speaker 1: The stranger there among them, head the Great Marty Robbins
- 15:55Speaker 1: with Big Iron. What a terrific song. Michael Murphy covers
- 15:59Speaker 1: that song. Marty's all right, told you we're gonna hear
- 16:09Speaker 1: from Bucky. The Aggies have to go to Vietnam tomorrow.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Well they go today. It's a really difficult place to play.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Trey pulled up. I was telling Trey my barn Hill
- 16:23Speaker 1: Arena stories from back in the day. You talk about
- 16:26Speaker 1: a difficult place to play. Bud walts a can of
- 16:29Speaker 1: corn compared to the barn that was crazy. I was
- 16:36Speaker 1: telling him that when Eddie Sutton left Arkansas to take
- 16:40Speaker 1: the Kentucky job, he took the band director, Jim Robson
- 16:45Speaker 1: with it. That was part of the Kentucky contract because
- 16:50Speaker 1: that guy was so essential with their pet band and
- 16:53Speaker 1: what they did and what he did to get that
- 16:55Speaker 1: crowd fired up, and of course throwing cans and bottles
- 16:59Speaker 1: and whatever else they had in their pockets at players Coaches.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Those were the days. Barnhill Arena. You had Baylor, you
- 17:17Speaker 1: had the Bubble at Texas Tech, you had Gregory Jim
- 17:20Speaker 1: and Austin Man. There were some pits you had of course,
- 17:24Speaker 1: she Relly White. There were some pits in those days
- 17:27Speaker 1: in the Southwest conference, but nothing could touch the barn. Historically,
- 17:33Speaker 1: A and M hasn't been very good in Arkansas. To
- 17:35Speaker 1: be fair, very very very few teams have been good
- 17:41Speaker 1: at Arkansas. Here is Bucky Hey.
- 17:45Speaker 6: Bucky anicheb got you're sure that at the Worsha'll finished
- 17:50Speaker 6: five hundred in SEC play. Do you have any number
- 17:54Speaker 6: of minds that you feel like helping to reach to
- 17:57Speaker 6: feel real comfortable age in the tournament.
- 18:00Speaker 7: I got a number in mine. I want to get
- 18:02Speaker 7: to this thirteen for four more games.
- 18:04Speaker 8: But no, I mean, look, I think that you know
- 18:08Speaker 8: you you got to keep grinding.
- 18:10Speaker 7: We don't have any bad losses.
- 18:12Speaker 8: We've shown that we are a great team.
- 18:16Speaker 7: At home and on the road particularly.
- 18:18Speaker 8: I mean, you know, if you think about our road
- 18:19Speaker 8: games and the toughest league in the country and the
- 18:21Speaker 8: SEC has the toughest places to play in the country.
- 18:24Speaker 8: We we We've gone to Alabama, we lost by three.
- 18:28Speaker 8: We won at Auburn, one at Texas, one at Georgia,
- 18:31Speaker 8: one at Oklahoma, double overtime at Tennessee.
- 18:34Speaker 9: Uh.
- 18:34Speaker 8: The only one we didn't play well in was was Vanderbilt.
- 18:37Speaker 8: We lost with double digits. But you know, I think
- 18:41Speaker 8: when you're looking at numbers and all that. When when
- 18:43Speaker 8: you evaluate things like that, you know, if you have
- 18:45Speaker 8: a winning record in the SEC, the toughest league in
- 18:48Speaker 8: the country, and you have shown you can do it
- 18:50Speaker 8: consistently on the road, that's a great sign for the
- 18:53Speaker 8: NSA tournament, right. And I think you also got to
- 18:56Speaker 8: look at teams that our team specifically. You know, you
- 19:00Speaker 8: thought the first four games of the season, you look
- 19:02Speaker 8: at this team, you're going to say, the team's been
- 19:06Speaker 8: able to play it with a lot of these teams
- 19:08Speaker 8: that are gonna have some nice seats in this tournament.
- 19:10Speaker 8: So you know, it's me bragging on our team, but
- 19:13Speaker 8: I want to finish this thing off right and play
- 19:16Speaker 8: well here in this last four games.
- 19:18Speaker 6: It will be enough to ensure that you get in
- 19:21Speaker 6: as good as they are.
- 19:22Speaker 8: Yeah, I don't know. I mean, like you know, I would.
- 19:25Speaker 8: I would think our body works pretty dangn good right now.
- 19:28Speaker 8: So I don't want to put game pressure either way
- 19:30Speaker 8: more than the pressure that you know, we put on
- 19:33Speaker 8: ourselves to play well. I think that we got a
- 19:35Speaker 8: team that if we play well, it just takes care
- 19:37Speaker 8: of itself, you know. I mean, I'm not thinking about
- 19:40Speaker 8: the INSA Tournament as much as I'm thinking about, like,
- 19:43Speaker 8: how can we position ourselves to be in a spot
- 19:47Speaker 8: somehow can peop for a championship in this league. And
- 19:50Speaker 8: if it can't be done, if Florida runs the table
- 19:52Speaker 8: and does there deal with then how can we have
- 19:54Speaker 8: the best seed possible for the SEC Tournament to give
- 19:57Speaker 8: ourselves a chance here to get by double buys get
- 20:01Speaker 8: to the Semis. And you know, if you think like that,
- 20:04Speaker 8: what's in front of you and you know the way
- 20:06Speaker 8: to do that is not to focus on that, but
- 20:07Speaker 8: I focus on playing good basketball.
- 20:10Speaker 7: Everything else should take care of itself.
- 20:12Speaker 10: You guys probably had one of your better defensive performances
- 20:14Speaker 10: on Saturday, especially in that second half.
- 20:16Speaker 11: Just what'd you feel like?
- 20:17Speaker 10: We're maybe some of the little things y'all did really
- 20:19Speaker 10: well that you can take from.
- 20:21Speaker 8: That to Keach State maybe well, I think our players
- 20:23Speaker 8: took up the game personal, like and I mentioned this,
- 20:25Speaker 8: you know, I mentioned this on the radio.
- 20:27Speaker 7: Is that so this time of year? And I wouldn't
- 20:30Speaker 7: be careful.
- 20:30Speaker 8: I want to say this after we've won, because sometimes
- 20:33Speaker 8: if you lose this, you're like, this is a players game.
- 20:34Speaker 7: They're like, okay, sure.
- 20:36Speaker 8: It is, now right, but this time of year, it
- 20:38Speaker 8: really becomes a players game. And I want to say,
- 20:40Speaker 8: if we had two wins, because here's why the schemes.
- 20:45Speaker 8: Everybody knows each other by now we know what the
- 20:49Speaker 8: other players can do. They know what our players can do.
- 20:51Speaker 8: They're gonna know what defenses we run, We're gonna know
- 20:54Speaker 8: what they run. You don't see too many I got
- 20:57Speaker 8: you plays out there this time of year. It is
- 20:59Speaker 8: literally like who wins the matchup? Like Rylan Griffin, that
- 21:03Speaker 8: last possession we went to him won his matchup. He
- 21:06Speaker 8: finished through contact and got a bucket. And then there
- 21:09Speaker 8: were several players on defense in that game. They had
- 21:12Speaker 8: their guy and said, you know, coach told me to
- 21:15Speaker 8: guard you. Your night's over with, right, And that's what
- 21:19Speaker 8: I mentioned on the water I mean what I mentioned
- 21:20Speaker 8: on the radio earlier. It's like who can cut Who's
- 21:23Speaker 8: water off that night? And I think that's really what
- 21:25Speaker 8: it comes down to.
- 21:26Speaker 7: This time of year.
- 21:26Speaker 8: It's like I got you, Oh Now they were on
- 21:29Speaker 8: a screen. I switch off, Now I got you. It's
- 21:31Speaker 8: over for you. Oh switch back, I got you, Now
- 21:33Speaker 8: back over for you. And that's the mindset you got
- 21:36Speaker 8: to play with this time of year.
- 21:38Speaker 10: We could go back starting to get a little bit
- 21:40Speaker 10: against the wall. Just what have you seen from maybe
- 21:41Speaker 10: just the sense of urgency from your guys these lost.
- 21:43Speaker 9: Couple of games.
- 21:44Speaker 8: Well, just you know, a lot of teams wait till
- 21:47Speaker 8: they get to the NSAY Tournament. Are their their LIFs
- 21:50Speaker 8: on the line to really fight. I haven't felt that
- 21:53Speaker 8: from this team. I would say a Vandy were a
- 21:55Speaker 8: little fatigued. But you know, I don't think lack of
- 21:59Speaker 8: fight has been the issue with this team or any point.
- 22:01Speaker 8: I'm not saying there is issues with tim This team
- 22:03Speaker 8: is one of the most what some would consider an
- 22:06Speaker 8: overachieving team right in a lot of ways. I'm not
- 22:09Speaker 8: telling wins and losses. They just give you what everything
- 22:11Speaker 8: they got. But a lot of teams, they get the
- 22:13Speaker 8: NCAY Tournament in their in their basketball lives on the line,
- 22:15Speaker 8: now they're really going to fight. You know, UFC right there,
- 22:18Speaker 8: we just talked about it earlier. They wait till they
- 22:20Speaker 8: get an octagon and they're really going to fight. Well,
- 22:22Speaker 8: how did you train the sixty days leading up to that?
- 22:26Speaker 9: Right?
- 22:26Speaker 8: Because if you walk in the octagon and you know
- 22:29Speaker 8: you again't done that, that's an eerie feeling.
- 22:32Speaker 12: So Howdy, this is Clayton with Chicken Express. Bring the
- 22:35Speaker 12: whole family to any of our three areas.
- 22:40Speaker 13: Howdy, Patrick Kenning here with your Gilmore Electric Express.
- 22:43Speaker 6: Like Bucky alacheb got you were sure that at the
- 22:49Speaker 6: worshap finished five hundred and sec play, do you have
- 22:52Speaker 6: any number in minds that you feel like something to reach?
- 22:56Speaker 1: All right, a couple of technical difficulties. Bring that over
- 23:00Speaker 1: there and you can edit it and get it back
- 23:03Speaker 1: to where we were for Bucky. So computer issues, you
- 23:08Speaker 1: know about computer issues coming up. We've got a high
- 23:10Speaker 1: school report. Caleb will be with us Dan and Laura
- 23:15Speaker 1: Dotson from Storage Wars. They're the Auctioneers. Okay, brand new season.
- 23:21Speaker 1: This thing's been on like seventeen years or something like
- 23:25Speaker 1: that is crazy. Brand new season starts on Saturday Saturday
- 23:32Speaker 1: Night on A and E. And looking forward to visiting
- 23:38Speaker 1: with them their characters. We have Aggie Baseball coming your
- 23:43Speaker 1: way at five forty five. This is the last of
- 23:47Speaker 1: the eight game home game stretch before they go to
- 23:49Speaker 1: Arlington and Globe Life to play better competition, including the
- 23:56Speaker 1: number one team on Saturday night that would be UCLA
- 23:59Speaker 1: and reading a little bit about them today and it was.
- 24:04Speaker 1: I tell you it was impressive kind of what they're
- 24:08Speaker 1: doing so both both hitting and pitching and clabbering the ball, smoking,
- 24:18Speaker 1: smoking the ball. So it'll be fun to watch this,
- 24:22Speaker 1: saying in pitching staff, which has been really good so far,
- 24:26Speaker 1: go against higher competition and going against a team that
- 24:32Speaker 1: has not had any problem hitting the baseball. Where are we, tray,
- 24:41Speaker 1: Let's see. Okay, it doesn't have to be exact. So
- 24:45Speaker 1: we're trying to get the back half of Bucky for you,
- 24:49Speaker 1: or at least a couple of more minutes of it.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Got it hold on? Okay, Yeah, So we had to
- 24:58Speaker 1: edit some of that because as if it doesn't matter,
- 25:01Speaker 1: this is behind the this is behind the curtain kind
- 25:04Speaker 1: of stuff for you. Tomorrow we will have Steve Denton,
- 25:08Speaker 1: tennis coach. He has started SEC play. We will visit
- 25:12Speaker 1: with him, Scott cland Dinnon tomorrow. Mallory will be here
- 25:15Speaker 1: tomorrow and then oh on Thursday, we're at the Brass
- 25:21Speaker 1: County Expo Center for the Taste of Aggie Lad the
- 25:25Speaker 1: old Brass County Expo Center and the Taste of Aggie
- 25:30Speaker 1: Land and so many of you tell you tell me
- 25:33Speaker 1: it's it's my favorite show.
- 25:35Speaker 9: Of the year.
- 25:35Speaker 1: We love listening to you eat on the radio, and
- 25:40Speaker 1: I mean, why wouldn't you restaurants you know, I don't
- 25:45Speaker 1: know how many they've got this year. They always have
- 25:47Speaker 1: a ton. You get to sample their fare. There w
- 25:50Speaker 1: restaurants there that maybe you haven't heard of. You get
- 25:53Speaker 1: to go in. It's a great deal and we'll be
- 25:57Speaker 1: out there live on on Thursday.
- 26:00Speaker 7: Here's Bucky everything they got.
- 26:03Speaker 8: But a lot of teams they get the NCA Tournament
- 26:05Speaker 8: and they're in their basketball lives on the line. Now
- 26:06Speaker 8: they're really gonna fight. You know UFC right there, we
- 26:09Speaker 8: just talked about it earlier. They wait till they get
- 26:11Speaker 8: in the octagon and they're really gonna fight. Well, how
- 26:13Speaker 8: did you train the sixty days leading up to that, right,
- 26:17Speaker 8: Because if you walk in the octagon and you know
- 26:20Speaker 8: you get't done that, that's an eerie feeling. So to
- 26:24Speaker 8: get to the NSA Tournament, you got to have the
- 26:26Speaker 8: same sense of urgency every night that your life's on
- 26:29Speaker 8: the line. And I think you've seen that from our guys.
- 26:32Speaker 8: With six games left, I told our players, let's play
- 26:35Speaker 8: this like this is our NCA tournament, one at a time.
- 26:37Speaker 8: Now we're in sweet sixteen going up to Tarkansas, because
- 26:40Speaker 8: to win the NCAA Tournament, you gotta.
- 26:42Speaker 7: Win six games.
- 26:43Speaker 8: So let's treat it like that. So that way when
- 26:46Speaker 8: we get to the NSA Tournament, we know that feeling.
- 26:49Speaker 14: Remember during many days that Kyle kind of give you
- 26:51Speaker 14: some indirect advice about how to build a program.
- 26:54Speaker 9: There's not really a team to year, do you, guys?
- 26:56Speaker 10: I mean, what's that relationship like between you two and
- 26:58Speaker 10: is there any sort of.
- 26:59Speaker 8: Challenge of sort of pushing through the Hall of Famous
- 27:02Speaker 8: stick use your players. Yeah, I've just never looked at
- 27:05Speaker 8: basketball that way in terms of coaching, Like I just
- 27:08Speaker 8: I've been in so long. I think a lot of
- 27:09Speaker 8: the coaches in general that that I just never looked
- 27:14Speaker 8: at it as coaches versus coach kind of coach our team.
- 27:17Speaker 8: But to your point on on Caliperio, I knew him.
- 27:21Speaker 8: He recruited one of my players in high school. Very
- 27:24Speaker 8: genuine person, you know. Obviously he was in the spot
- 27:29Speaker 8: we were last year with very pretty.
- 27:32Speaker 7: Much a new team.
- 27:33Speaker 8: They struggled at parts, and that's I think they lost
- 27:35Speaker 8: their first five or games or so in the SEC
- 27:37Speaker 8: and that right, and then they went on to get
- 27:39Speaker 8: to the sweet sixteen or very close to could have
- 27:41Speaker 8: made the lead eight. So you know, that's a model
- 27:45Speaker 8: for how you got to stay the course and keep
- 27:47Speaker 8: your eye on the prize, which is to play your
- 27:48Speaker 8: best basketball towards the latter part of the season. You know,
- 27:52Speaker 8: that don't mean you're cruising to the latter part. That
- 27:54Speaker 8: just means that you're improving day by day.

- 28:25Speaker 1: So I wanted to say this. This came from Bill
- 28:28Speaker 1: Oliver in the news room.
- 28:29Speaker 9: Today.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Redfields has announced that they are closing their doors after
- 28:33Speaker 1: sixty six years. As of April thirtieth, they'll have full
- 28:38Speaker 1: inventory through Easter weekend April fourth. We're getting the sixth,
- 28:43Speaker 1: they'll discount items and close on April thirtieth. I will
- 28:48Speaker 1: have much more to say about this when we get
- 28:51Speaker 1: closer to that time. But everybody here at the station,
- 28:57Speaker 1: it's like that can't they can't do that. It's like
- 29:03Speaker 1: losing a family member. People texting me, emailing me, it's like,
- 29:08Speaker 1: did you hear about Redfields? And they're just an iconic
- 29:13Speaker 1: business and a huge part of this community. The Raffino
- 29:16Speaker 1: family has just been unbelievable, uh, with with with the
- 29:21Speaker 1: quality and quality control over all these years and what
- 29:26Speaker 1: they brought.
- 29:26Speaker 9: To the community.
- 29:27Speaker 1: And they're going to be greatly missed. Those guys work
- 29:30Speaker 1: so hard, The statement said, Uh, after decades of service,
- 29:36Speaker 1: beginning with their parents, they've decided to retire to spend
- 29:39Speaker 1: more time with family and friends because they can't do
- 29:42Speaker 1: it now. I'm telling you, they work a lot of hours.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Uh and it always showed up right in the quality
- 29:51Speaker 1: of the service and the quality of what they did there.
- 29:54Speaker 1: But we're going to miss him. I mean I'm going
- 29:57Speaker 1: to personally miss this bi business. I've got to figure
- 30:02Speaker 1: out now what to do with two major holidays. I
- 30:05Speaker 1: got to figure out what to do with Thanksgiving, now
- 30:07Speaker 1: what to do with Christmas because they provided all that
- 30:11Speaker 1: for us and for hundreds upon thousands of you out there.

- 33:15Speaker 4: Well enough a caro, lot of it back in the hill,
- 33:19Speaker 4: mem all baby, and it had him steal he brewed
- 33:23Speaker 4: a one line until the sun.
- 33:24Speaker 19: Went down, and then you tell him a jug and
- 33:27Speaker 19: it passed around.
- 33:29Speaker 20: Welcome into the High School Report. I'm Caleb Rapley, and
- 33:31Speaker 20: today we're jumping out to the Player's Fun Center phone
- 33:33Speaker 20: line to visit with the head coach of the Brass
- 33:36Speaker 20: Christian Eagles baseball team, mister Ryan Ray coach. Thanks for
- 33:39Speaker 20: joining me.
- 33:40Speaker 11: Hey, thanks, I appreciate you having a.
- 33:42Speaker 20: Soccer Yes, sir, so your Eagles got the season started
- 33:46Speaker 20: a couple of weeks ago. I've already played seven games,
- 33:49Speaker 20: so getting a pretty good idea of where you're at
- 33:53Speaker 20: as a team. What have your thoughts been on the
- 33:55Speaker 20: performance so far.
- 33:56Speaker 17: Yeah, yeah, this is our first full week of having
- 34:00Speaker 17: our full rosters, so so really excited about that, you know,
- 34:05Speaker 17: first and foremost, you know, what we've done in the
- 34:09Speaker 17: last few weeks and and just.
- 34:10Speaker 11: The program goals developed christ like men that carry the
- 34:12Speaker 11: values of brass as Christian and I feel like we're
- 34:15Speaker 11: we're on a really good track with that. We're learning
- 34:20Speaker 11: just just kind of chop with a carry water. That's
- 34:22Speaker 11: kind of where we're at as as a program, and
- 34:27Speaker 11: really just doing learning how to do the intentional everyday
- 34:31Speaker 11: details and how important those are. You know, they're not
- 34:35Speaker 11: the most exciting, they're not the most you know, worldly glorifying,
- 34:41Speaker 11: but they're needed to to and they're essential to to
- 34:45Speaker 11: have success. And so it cause haven't really done a
- 34:47Speaker 11: great job of learning into that and buy into it.
- 34:51Speaker 11: And yeah, we're we're really excited for for where we're at.
- 34:54Speaker 11: And we've been playing really high level competition so far,
- 34:59Speaker 11: and that's just the goal of that is just early
- 35:02Speaker 11: season learning are what we need to work on a
- 35:05Speaker 11: lot quicker than than than than we have in the past,
- 35:09Speaker 11: And so that's been really good to go back to
- 35:12Speaker 11: the drawing board and and you know, we want to
- 35:14Speaker 11: play gritty, confident, and consistent baseball. So that really helps
- 35:20Speaker 11: us identify just key points where we need to be
- 35:24Speaker 11: to have our goals of winning a district championship and
- 35:28Speaker 11: make a playoff run.
- 35:30Speaker 20: So, you know, one of the most interesting things about
- 35:32Speaker 20: high school sports is the fact that the team is
- 35:37Speaker 20: changing every year with the composition of the players. So
- 35:41Speaker 20: how would you say that the new the younger players
- 35:45Speaker 20: have stepped up this year to fill the void from
- 35:47Speaker 20: those seniors they graduated.
- 35:49Speaker 17: Yeah, yeah, uh, you know, we uh lost.
- 35:53Speaker 11: You know, Braydon and who went to Harding and then
- 35:56Speaker 11: and then a corps of just really good seniors through it,
- 36:00Speaker 11: Isaiah Perkins and Jackson Caffey and so, uh what what
- 36:05Speaker 11: we've done well is we've retained our core pitching staff
- 36:10Speaker 11: and so that's really helped us. Guys have stepped up
- 36:13Speaker 11: as well too, haven't really pitched before. We've done a
- 36:18Speaker 11: great job in the off season of developing hat and
- 36:21Speaker 11: and and and you know, our our defenses is outstanding
- 36:26Speaker 11: and and and our bats are starting to pick up
- 36:28Speaker 11: to you and so you know, the kids have done
- 36:31Speaker 11: a great job in the off season of of of
- 36:34Speaker 11: of developing where they need to be. And so I'm
- 36:38Speaker 11: really just proud of them and excited to put that
- 36:41Speaker 11: on display, to see them put that on display here
- 36:44Speaker 11: for for the next weeks ahead as we attack our
- 36:48Speaker 11: main core of of our season.
- 36:51Speaker 20: So, I know it's still early and you don't know
- 36:54Speaker 20: exactly how everything is going to play out yet, but
- 36:57Speaker 20: as of now, what do you think are some of
- 36:59Speaker 20: your biggest brings some weaknesses.
- 37:02Speaker 11: Yeah, you know, it's it's it's really just us against
- 37:06Speaker 11: the baseball and and and that's kind of what what
- 37:08Speaker 11: we're preaching as a coaching staff. And and it's it's
- 37:11Speaker 11: just one pitch at a time. We we we want
- 37:13Speaker 11: to win this pitch, and and then we want to
- 37:16Speaker 11: win the next pitch, right, and and and when keeping
- 37:19Speaker 11: us against the baseball right, trying to eliminate the outside
- 37:23Speaker 11: factors as as as we all know, baseball is such
- 37:25Speaker 11: i mentally taxing game. You can be your best and
- 37:30Speaker 11: you can still lease and and so it's it's just
- 37:33Speaker 11: so it's it's just so many dynamics into the game.
- 37:38Speaker 11: So that's really what what what we got to do.
- 37:41Speaker 11: And and and the kids have done a great job
- 37:44Speaker 11: of of of learning that and and they're continuing to
- 37:46Speaker 11: learn that and that's every gay, right. So it's us
- 37:48Speaker 11: against the baseball and practice. We want to win this
- 37:50Speaker 11: pitch and practice and of course we we we resort
- 37:55Speaker 11: to our training in the game, so so when things
- 37:57Speaker 11: go chaotic, we we just want to lower our heart rate,
- 38:02Speaker 11: focus on the good, you know, over communicate on the field,
- 38:07Speaker 11: and and and really attack and and and just win
- 38:10Speaker 11: this pitch, a single pitch at a time. And so
- 38:14Speaker 11: we've we've done a great job of of of learning
- 38:18Speaker 11: map so far, and and and and we continue to
- 38:21Speaker 11: do that will be a really good baseball team.
- 38:25Speaker 20: So y'all are in TAPS Division three, District four and
- 38:29Speaker 20: last year second place finish. I believe it was Hill
- 38:32Speaker 20: Country Christian out of Austin to come the first place.
- 38:36Speaker 20: Uh so, what are your thoughts on how you can
- 38:38Speaker 20: continue to climb the ladder of the district standings?
- 38:41Speaker 18: Yeah?
- 38:42Speaker 11: Yeah, you know, our our our goal is obviously the
- 38:44Speaker 11: to win a decert championship. And and again I kind
- 38:46Speaker 11: of saluted it to it earlier. But it's just us
- 38:50Speaker 11: shopping wedding carrying water, right, we got to just work
- 38:53Speaker 11: every day, just just just do the important minuscule tasks
- 38:57Speaker 11: that kind of is against today's culture of that's flashy
- 39:02Speaker 11: and and and and and all that. It's really just
- 39:06Speaker 11: the nitty gritty, just doing the important, minuscule details that
- 39:10Speaker 11: aren't the most attractive or the fun thing to do,
- 39:13Speaker 11: but they're essential. And so we do that and we
- 39:18Speaker 11: keep us against the baseball I think all all of
- 39:21Speaker 11: our goals will attack them head on, and so it
- 39:25Speaker 11: you know, baseball such a mentally taxing game, and we
- 39:30Speaker 11: just win one of that aspects. I really think the
- 39:34Speaker 11: rest of will take care of itself as long as
- 39:36Speaker 11: we buy into doing the hard games every day.
- 39:41Speaker 20: So this weekend, y'all are hosting a tournament in Brian
- 39:45Speaker 20: at Travis Field. Looks like you've got, uh, I think
- 39:49Speaker 20: ten schools at the tournament this year, so how much?
- 39:53Speaker 1: How uh?
- 39:54Speaker 20: What's the process like of organizing a tournament like this,
- 39:56Speaker 20: especially when you know you have to deal with the
- 39:59Speaker 20: field being being used by you know, in the past,
- 40:03Speaker 20: it was the Brasses Valley Bombers. This year it's going
- 40:06Speaker 20: to be the new Brian summer ball team. So what
- 40:08Speaker 20: goes into this tournament for you?
- 40:10Speaker 15: Yeah?
- 40:10Speaker 11: Well, well, first off, I've I've met some of the
- 40:13Speaker 11: guys coming in and I'm really excited for what they're
- 40:15Speaker 11: going to bring into the community. So I'm really looking
- 40:18Speaker 11: forward to that product. But yeah, the tournament, the athletic
- 40:21Speaker 11: department and even our parents have just an outstanding job
- 40:25Speaker 11: of organizing it and putting it together. We were fortunate
- 40:28Speaker 11: enough to have some local teams that great competition last
- 40:32Speaker 11: year and we were able to retain those and they
- 40:34Speaker 11: were excited to come back, and I just reached out
- 40:39Speaker 11: to some teams out of town and those guys are
- 40:42Speaker 11: coming into. So I think last year we had twelve.
- 40:45Speaker 11: This year we have ten. Well, games start at eleven
- 40:50Speaker 11: o'clock Thursday and Friday and then we're eight to eight

- 45:51Speaker 1: new season on Saturday. How you doing, guys.
- 45:57Speaker 14: We're doing fantastic, chipper. How are you today?
- 46:00Speaker 9: Great? Take State of Texas.
- 46:01Speaker 1: To a little drizzly today, but hey, you know it's
- 46:05Speaker 1: going to be eighty so we're doing good.
- 46:08Speaker 9: Yeah you are? Yes, yes, so yes, Dan?
- 46:13Speaker 1: How did this come about for you personally? Did you
- 46:17Speaker 1: know the producer? Did they come to you? How did
- 46:20Speaker 1: this all begin like seventeen years ago?
- 46:24Speaker 9: Wow?
- 46:24Speaker 14: Well, you know we started, we started putting stuff on YouTube,
- 46:27Speaker 14: and we started doing it every week because we wanted
- 46:30Speaker 14: our clients to know, Hey, we're good auctioneers and we
- 46:33Speaker 14: want your business. And KTLA and CBS and ABC all
- 46:38Speaker 14: got ahold of us at about the same time and said,
- 46:41Speaker 14: we want to do a you know, a thrift economy story.
- 46:43Speaker 14: Can we come and film one of your auctions? So
- 46:45Speaker 14: that's really how it started. Once that happened, we had
- 46:48Speaker 14: like we had like sixteen different production companies and a
- 46:52Speaker 14: couple of different networks get ahold of us wanting to
- 46:55Speaker 14: want to put a show around us, and.
- 46:57Speaker 22: We were putting out little youtubees like option, what's in
- 47:00Speaker 22: the unit? Come on, you can be a storage bidder
- 47:03Speaker 22: and buyer, And it was so intriguing that they actually
- 47:06Speaker 22: were getting a hold of us, and we were coming
- 47:08Speaker 22: home from work and hearing messages on our phone.
- 47:11Speaker 23: There's a mandate for da around you folks.
- 47:14Speaker 14: Laura, Laura's had these prolific dreams about things. So we
- 47:18Speaker 14: we were, we were producing, we were I was dreaming
- 47:20Speaker 14: we had another production company, and and Laura had this
- 47:24Speaker 14: dream that they they put our they put our tape
- 47:27Speaker 14: in a cabinet and shut it and she goes, what
- 47:28Speaker 14: do you think that means? And I said, well, that
- 47:30Speaker 14: means you should call them and find out, what's going
- 47:32Speaker 14: on with our show?
- 47:33Speaker 9: We're pitching it for trying to begin.
- 47:34Speaker 23: This is real.
- 47:35Speaker 14: So she calls him up, and I'm watching her talk
- 47:38Speaker 14: and she's off the phone and and she says. What
- 47:41Speaker 14: she says was, this is a wife and the auctioneer.
- 47:43Speaker 14: We're wondering how our show's coming along. And what they
- 47:46Speaker 14: thought she said was, I'm the wife of another auctioneer
- 47:50Speaker 14: with another show called the Auction Barn, and I want
- 47:52Speaker 14: to know how it's going. They come back and they say, oh,
- 47:54Speaker 14: the network loves the auction house concept. They're going to
- 47:57Speaker 14: pick it up. And Laura says, what else? What about storage?
- 48:01Speaker 14: And then they said, oh oh. Then they figured out
- 48:04Speaker 14: they were talking to the wrong person. So then they
- 48:06Speaker 14: tell her, oh, we have two shows. She puts the
- 48:09Speaker 14: phone down, looks at me. They have two shows, and
- 48:11Speaker 14: she goes, what's the name of the other show? They
- 48:13Speaker 14: don't even have.
- 48:13Speaker 9: The name for the other show. And so anyway, she
- 48:16Speaker 9: is so pissed off.
- 48:17Speaker 14: She hangs up the phone and she goes, God, send
- 48:20Speaker 14: us to Tom Beers. I don't know who that is.
- 48:22Speaker 14: And I said, who's Tom Beers? She goes, well, that's
- 48:24Speaker 14: deadliest catch. That's Ice sures Truckers, that's ax Man. Those
- 48:27Speaker 14: are the shows you watch. So I said, yeah, I'd
- 48:29Speaker 14: be great if we had a guy like that show.
- 48:31Speaker 9: Two or three weeks later, in mid tale.
- 48:34Speaker 14: Okay, and I mean, we're in Van Eyes and this
- 48:36Speaker 14: guy comes up and he says, he gives me his card.
- 48:39Speaker 14: He does you ever think about doing a reality show?
- 48:41Speaker 14: And I say, yeah, you're number sixteen baby.
- 48:43Speaker 9: What's your name? He has me his card, it's Tom Beers.
- 48:45Speaker 9: I said, no way.
- 48:47Speaker 14: My wife praid to God you'd come here, and here
- 48:49Speaker 14: you are. So, you know, a couple more dreams later
- 48:52Speaker 14: and we had a Discovery Channel that wanted to wanted
- 48:56Speaker 14: to you know. They called us up and they said, hey,
- 48:58Speaker 14: we want you to sign a thing. You want to
- 49:00Speaker 14: do this, and I said, well, I'm in a holding
- 49:02Speaker 14: pattern for Tom Beers, so I just got to, you know,
- 49:04Speaker 14: do that. A couple hours later they called and they said, hey,
- 49:07Speaker 14: we'll give you six shows on Discovery Channel Stationary if
- 49:10Speaker 14: you'll if you'll sign that.
- 49:11Speaker 9: So I said, well listen, let me think about it overnight.
- 49:14Speaker 14: And soon as I hung up, I sent Tom Beers
- 49:16Speaker 14: an email and I said, hey, these guys are saying
- 49:18Speaker 14: this much, what say you? And he comes back, he
- 49:20Speaker 14: because we can match that, And I said, well, I
- 49:22Speaker 14: was hoping you could beat that, and so he did
- 49:24Speaker 14: beat it by a little bit, I said.
- 49:26Speaker 22: And and then more shows, and we just knew that
- 49:29Speaker 22: Amy was our home dance Garty Entertainment, and I was
- 49:32Speaker 22: dreaming about it. I said, Danny, We're going to have
- 49:34Speaker 22: a show. It's going to be an auction show. And
- 49:36Speaker 22: I pitched the idea, and I pitched it to the
- 49:38Speaker 22: network and I spoke to the executive and oh my god,
- 49:41Speaker 22: if you.
- 49:41Speaker 9: Talked about talked about their dreams, She goes.
- 49:43Speaker 14: We were all up on this stage and everybody had
- 49:45Speaker 14: a spotlight, and we all had fishing poles, and they
- 49:47Speaker 14: kept giving us fishing poles so our fingers could hardly
- 49:50Speaker 14: hold the fishing poles, and everybody's light went out.
- 49:52Speaker 9: Are stayed on.
- 49:53Speaker 23: We're the last one standing, the last.
- 49:55Speaker 14: One standing, and the light comes on and there's Tom
- 49:57Speaker 14: Beers like one hundred people behind.
- 49:59Speaker 9: That was the original productions and that was kind of how.
- 50:03Speaker 1: At what point did you guys know this was a hit?
- 50:08Speaker 1: I'm guessing there was no way you knew that there
- 50:11Speaker 1: were five and a half million people watching. But but
- 50:14Speaker 1: at what point, what was there a point like you
- 50:17Speaker 1: went to the stores, something happened you went, hey, we
- 50:19Speaker 1: know those guys. You guys became celebrities.
- 50:22Speaker 23: He just said it.
- 50:23Speaker 22: So here, you know, I love to do my grocery shopping,
- 50:26Speaker 22: going in, I'm checking everything out and I, you know,
- 50:28Speaker 22: Danny says, I usually, you know, roll around a card
- 50:31Speaker 22: or two and I feed my whole staff and auction
- 50:33Speaker 22: stuff and Danny's helping me. And I walk in there
- 50:35Speaker 22: and I hear out, don't forget to pay the lady.
- 50:39Speaker 22: I just about dropped. I said, oh my gosh. And
- 50:41Speaker 22: then when they realized, oh, it is to you. It
- 50:43Speaker 22: is you folks, It's Danny right there. Danny's auctioning off
- 50:46Speaker 22: things in the item and in the in the aisles.
- 50:49Speaker 22: And we said, I think people are watching this show.
- 50:52Speaker 22: Oh yeah, gosh, I think they like it. And I
- 50:55Speaker 22: had had a dream. I told Danny.
- 50:57Speaker 23: I said, we're going to have like five million views.
- 51:00Speaker 14: She told the production that and they looked at her
- 51:02Speaker 14: like she was nuts. Was nobody's going to get that?
- 51:04Speaker 9: But we were.
- 51:05Speaker 14: We beat the regular ratings on regular and it was
- 51:09Speaker 14: just you know, by the second or third season. We
- 51:12Speaker 14: kind of knew we had a you know, we had
- 51:13Speaker 14: a we had a really good show and people really
- 51:15Speaker 14: loved it.
- 51:16Speaker 23: And it's part of it's part of a phenomenon, you know,
- 51:19Speaker 23: part of the culture.
- 51:20Speaker 1: I mean, it has become part of the culture. Where
- 51:23Speaker 1: did all the characters come from? So, so where did
- 51:26Speaker 1: you get the buyers.
- 51:28Speaker 23: Real life buyers that really come to our sales.
- 51:30Speaker 14: We would, you know, Laura and I we go drive
- 51:32Speaker 14: about two hundred and fifty miles two undred miles every
- 51:34Speaker 14: day each do an aux separately, and we were we
- 51:37Speaker 14: were wanting to do this show, so we would bring
- 51:39Speaker 14: back different buyers. We're telling everybody, hey, we want to
- 51:42Speaker 14: be on our show. And if somebody said I want
- 51:44Speaker 14: to be on the show, but we thought they would suck, Yeah.
- 51:46Speaker 9: You'd give them a one.
- 51:47Speaker 14: If they wanted to be on the show, we thought
- 51:48Speaker 14: they'd be great, we'd give them a ten. So, you know,
- 51:51Speaker 14: Laura's coming back with like Darryl, and I'm coming back
- 51:53Speaker 14: with like Dave and and so we put everybody on
- 51:55Speaker 14: the show except for Barry. Barry was the godfather for
- 51:59Speaker 14: Jess James and he was doing the Monster Garage. So
- 52:03Speaker 14: I think it was.
- 52:03Speaker 22: An eplectic collector, so it was a perfect match for us.
- 52:08Speaker 22: And he was a friend of Tom Beers, so it
- 52:10Speaker 22: kind of just meshed in. And he is magic and
- 52:13Speaker 22: he's brought a lot of fun memory to the show.
- 52:16Speaker 23: We still are friends with Barry Well.
- 52:18Speaker 14: I think when they first started they thought it might
- 52:20Speaker 14: be the very show. But you know, Storage Horse has
- 52:22Speaker 14: so many different levels and dimensions, some of different things
- 52:25Speaker 14: going on.
- 52:26Speaker 9: It's just it's like a super as stew It's just
- 52:29Speaker 9: got the right ingredients in it.
- 52:31Speaker 14: And so, I you know, probably around the third or
- 52:34Speaker 14: fourth season was probably the best. But you know, Laura,
- 52:36Speaker 14: she she just she just hit it and she put
- 52:39Speaker 14: her hand after it. She goes, I see this in
- 52:40Speaker 14: five five, five different shows, and she had all of
- 52:44Speaker 14: them down except for she thought it would be in Chicago.
- 52:46Speaker 9: They never put one in Chicago.
- 52:48Speaker 14: And originally I was, you know, telling, telling the production
- 52:51Speaker 14: we should be in charge of every one of these,
- 52:53Speaker 14: and oh, you can't do that. You're you're too busy
- 52:56Speaker 14: right here. So we're gonna do it over here. And
- 52:58Speaker 14: we've got you know, we've got New York. And the
- 53:01Speaker 14: production guy comes back and says, we've got New York.
- 53:03Speaker 14: You better watch out. We're going to be the best show.
- 53:06Speaker 14: And I said, well, good luck to you for that.
- 53:07Speaker 14: What do you mean, I said, you're.
- 53:09Speaker 9: Going to need a lot.
- 53:09Speaker 22: It just needed Dan and Laura. But I do have
- 53:12Speaker 22: some exciting news. Yes, Mary is back.
- 53:15Speaker 1: Nice, I saw that. I saw that Mary's coming back.
- 53:19Speaker 9: Yes, yeah, Mary's back and.
- 53:21Speaker 23: She's oh she's on fire. Yes yeah. And it's such
- 53:26Speaker 23: a treat.
- 53:28Speaker 1: So it's obviously important to have different personalities, different styles
- 53:33Speaker 1: that kind of mesh together. How has that worked out
- 53:37Speaker 1: over the years.
- 53:38Speaker 14: Well, it seems to work out good because you know,
- 53:41Speaker 14: every unit's not the same. Sure, people might like a
- 53:44Speaker 14: certain thing in a unit and somebody else might specialize
- 53:46Speaker 14: in something else. Yeah, you know, one unit that might
- 53:49Speaker 14: be valuable to somebody might not be valuable to everybody exactly.
- 53:52Speaker 14: You know, you you have to have diversified buyers in
- 53:55Speaker 14: the real world to buy the stuff. And you know
- 53:58Speaker 14: the way that these auctions work. They're all genuine, official,
- 54:03Speaker 14: legal auctions, So there's always another crowd there that you
- 54:06Speaker 14: just don't always see them on camera because you know,
- 54:09Speaker 14: our buyers are the ones that you know, production and A.
- 54:13Speaker 9: He wants you to follow our.
- 54:14Speaker 22: Future you're invested with them and you love them and
- 54:16Speaker 22: you want to know what's going on.
- 54:17Speaker 1: I've got about thirty seconds left, So how much longer
- 54:21Speaker 1: you guys want to do this?
- 54:23Speaker 22: We I don't see any end in sight, you know.
- 54:26Speaker 22: I think Danny said that he'll probably just fall off.
- 54:28Speaker 23: The auction day.
- 54:30Speaker 14: I do, Miss Joe, what are you crazy? I'd like
- 54:32Speaker 14: to see like like twenty five episode, twenty five seasons.
- 54:35Speaker 14: I'd like to see five or six hundred shows. That's
- 54:38Speaker 14: what I'd like to see in it. And I think
- 54:40Speaker 14: we have that in us. And then after that, maybe
- 54:43Speaker 14: our son, you know, he's twenty eight years old and
- 54:45Speaker 14: he's an auctioneer in fourteen. She's been in a few shows,
- 54:48Speaker 14: and so I can almost see handing him the baton
- 54:50Speaker 14: at some point and nice.
- 54:52Speaker 22: You know, we out there, yell and don't forget to
- 54:54Speaker 22: pay the lady because I've got.
- 54:55Speaker 23: All the energy.
- 54:56Speaker 1: Dan and Laura Dotson are with Storage Wars. The seven
- 55:00Speaker 1: teenth season begins February twenty eight. Guys, we'll be watching.
- 55:04Speaker 1: Thank you so much for your time.
- 55:06Speaker 9: Take you Chip and.
- 55:07Speaker 14: Take e Texas and you can check out our website
- 55:09Speaker 14: at Storage Auctions dot net for nationwide auctions we have
- 55:13Speaker 14: in Texas and Americanauctioneers dot Com.
- 55:15Speaker 9: When you're in Southern California.
- 55:17Speaker 22: February twenty eighth, Storage Wars premiere back to back episodes, folks,
- 55:21Speaker 22: and don't forget to pay the lead.
- 55:23Speaker 1: My problem with Laura is she's not enthusiastic enough. You
- 55:27Speaker 1: know she needs to step it up a little bit. Hey,
- 55:30Speaker 1: Joe Orsak at Marblecraft has been stepping up his game
- 55:35Speaker 1: for twenty five plus years. See what I did there.
- 55:39Speaker 1: Marble Craft the leading resource for kitchen and bath surfacing
- 55:45Speaker 1: and whether it's granite countertops or redoing the whole thing,
- 55:50Speaker 1: which he did for one of our baths, tear down
- 55:53Speaker 1: to make ready. They do it all. You make a decision,
- 55:57Speaker 1: he gives you a price. They come in and you
- 56:00Speaker 1: already know that your kitchen and your bathrooms are going
- 56:05Speaker 1: to make the biggest impression if you ever sell the house,
