Latest / The Vault: The Epstein Files / Geraldo Rivera Goes To Bat For Ghislaine Maxwell
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This goofy MF, Geraldo Rivera, thinks it's a good idea
- 0:06Speaker 1: that Ghislaine Maxwell gets bail. He thought it was such
- 0:12Speaker 1: a good idea, in fact, that he blasted the judge
- 0:16Speaker 1: after she denied the bail request. As if Ghislaine Maxwell
- 0:21Speaker 1: isn't a flight risk. As if Ghislaine Maxwell is not
- 0:24Speaker 1: an imminent threat to leave the country. But no, you
- 0:30Speaker 1: have this goofy MF, Geraldo Rivera, trying to wax poetic
- 0:38Speaker 1: and fight for Ghislaine Maxwell getting bail. What in the
- 0:44Speaker 1: world could possibly motivate this clown to try and defend
- 0:50Speaker 1: Ghislaine Maxwell being remanded to federal custody until her trial?
- 0:56Speaker 1: It defies reason. I don't know how anybody can look
- 0:59Speaker 1: at the facts of this case, the facts that are
- 1:02Speaker 1: just available to us, and not think that Ghislaine Maxwell
- 1:06Speaker 1: was an imminent threat to leave the country. Most certainly
- 1:12Speaker 1: she was. But Geraldo Rivera... Well, he thinks that she
- 1:19Speaker 1: should have been bailed out. She should have went to
- 1:21Speaker 1: the luxury hotel. Yeah, throw an ankle monitor on her.
- 1:25Speaker 1: As if those have never been tampered with. As if
- 1:27Speaker 1: those have never been removed. And furthermore, what makes Ghislaine
- 1:33Speaker 1: Maxwell so special that she should get bailed? This is
- 1:36Speaker 1: a child predator. We're not talking about somebody who got
- 1:40Speaker 1: nailed with 15 or 20 kilos. Then I'd be like, yeah,
- 1:44Speaker 1: let them bail him out. Give them the bail. They
- 1:45Speaker 1: better get bailed. we are talking about someone who abused children.
- 1:51Speaker 1: And not only abused children, was involved in a wide-ranging
- 1:56Speaker 1: money laundering scheme. It makes me wonder if Geraldo Rivera
- 2:02Speaker 1: is suffering late stages of trauma in his life from
- 2:07Speaker 1: a head injury or something because this guy is an
- 2:09Speaker 1: absolute clown. There is no defense possible that you could
- 2:17Speaker 1: put forward that would make me believe that Ghislaine Maxwell
- 2:20Speaker 1: should get bail. But here we are, and this epic moron,
- 2:24Speaker 1: Geraldo Rivera, is making the case. Our article today is
- 2:29Speaker 1: from Fox News. The headline is, Geraldo Rivera accuses judge
- 2:33Speaker 1: who denied Ghislaine Maxwell bail of copping out to the mob.
- 2:38Speaker 1: What a clown. The author of the article is Yale Halon.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Fox News correspondent at large, Geraldo Rivera, accused the New
- 2:47Speaker 1: York federal judge presiding over Ghislaine Maxwell's case of copping
- 2:52Speaker 1: out to the mob Tuesday after she denied the British socialite, co-conspirator,
- 2:57Speaker 1: child abuser, general scumbag, bail request as she awaits trial
- 3:02Speaker 1: on sex trafficking charges. So right out of the gate,
- 3:08Speaker 1: Geraldo doesn't know what he's talking about here. What did
- 3:12Speaker 1: he expect the judge to do? to grant this woman bail? Unacceptable.
- 3:19Speaker 1: It is not even an option. And you heard from
- 3:21Speaker 1: two of the survivors themselves who addressed the court. Do
- 3:25Speaker 1: their feelings not matter? I mean, how could anyone who
- 3:33Speaker 1: listened in on that hearing yesterday not agree with the
- 3:37Speaker 1: remanding of Ghislaine Maxwell to federal custody? It is just
- 3:41Speaker 1: such a foreign perspective. I don't understand how anybody who
- 3:47Speaker 1: is not just trying to be cute doesn't see that
- 3:53Speaker 1: Ghislaine Maxwell is a risk to flee. It just defies
- 3:58Speaker 1: the imagination. I think this was a political decision, Rivera
- 4:03Speaker 1: asserted on Bill Hemmer Reports. I think that the question
- 4:06Speaker 1: is not whether she committed these hideous offenses. The question
- 4:09Speaker 1: is whether or not she would show up for trial.
- 4:12Speaker 1: She bought a house in New Hampshire, for God's sakes.
- 4:15Speaker 1: For goodness sakes, she went to all this trouble to
- 4:17Speaker 1: stay in the country. Well, did you ever think that
- 4:20Speaker 1: that might have had to do with her hubris and
- 4:23Speaker 1: the fact that she was able to get away with
- 4:24Speaker 1: this for so long? And in her arrogance, she thought
- 4:29Speaker 1: that those who had protected her previously with Jeffrey Epstein
- 4:34Speaker 1: were going to continue to do so. Because, we know,
- 4:38Speaker 1: she has, supposedly, the documentation and the evidence that will
- 4:43Speaker 1: put a bunch of powerful people on blast. Now, Ghislaine Maxwell, obviously,
- 4:55Speaker 1: has intimate knowledge of what occurred with Jeffrey Epstein. She
- 4:59Speaker 1: was his partner in crime. She was the shadow boss.
- 5:04Speaker 1: And to think that Ghislaine Maxwell, now truly understanding the
- 5:13Speaker 1: gravity of these charges that she's facing, to think that
- 5:16Speaker 1: she would not bounce and try and get out of
- 5:19Speaker 1: Dodge is just, it's silly to think that way. She's
- 5:24Speaker 1: going to stick around and wait for the trial? She
- 5:27Speaker 1: knows that she's guilty. She knows there's mountains of evidence.
- 5:30Speaker 1: And she knows that other co-conspirators are about to be
- 5:33Speaker 1: flipped to rat on her. Ghislaine Maxwell would have been
- 5:40Speaker 1: on the first flight out of America if she could
- 5:44Speaker 1: have figured it out. But the fact is, she is
- 5:48Speaker 1: no longer useful to her handlers and And once that
- 5:52Speaker 1: happens in their part of the world, in this sort
- 5:55Speaker 1: of community, you are burned as an asset and jettisoned.
- 6:02Speaker 1: They could take her passports, he went on. That's standard
- 6:04Speaker 1: operating procedure. Yeah, okay, they could take her passports, but
- 6:07Speaker 1: how do we know she can't get more? This isn't
- 6:10Speaker 1: a woman who is just, you know, floating through life
- 6:13Speaker 1: and happened to get caught up in some sex trafficking scheme.
- 6:17Speaker 1: This is a woman of means, a woman of power.
- 6:20Speaker 1: and a woman of great skill when it comes to manipulation.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Ghislaine Maxwell has no business ever setting foot outside of
- 6:36Speaker 1: a prison ever again. Rivera added the coronavirus risks in
- 6:43Speaker 1: the awful Brooklyn detention center, as well as the very
- 6:46Speaker 1: suspicious circumstances surrounding Jeffrey Epstein's death, Should have been enough
- 6:50Speaker 1: to secure the 58-year-old's release. Okay, and then what, Geraldo? Mr.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Geraldo Rivera, man of so many big ideas? Then what?
- 7:05Speaker 1: The federal government provides guards to protect her at her
- 7:08Speaker 1: luxury hotel? Negative. She'll be eating bologna? Nasty-ass oatmeal? and
- 7:15Speaker 1: whatever other kind of gruel they slop down on her plate.
- 7:19Speaker 1: She will not be getting room service while she's awaiting
- 7:24Speaker 1: trial on these horrific charges. And the coronavirus nonsense? Give
- 7:32Speaker 1: me a break. I am so sick and tired of
- 7:35Speaker 1: the coronavirus being used in every quarter as an excuse
- 7:39Speaker 1: for everything. Enough is enough, okay? The wheels of justice
- 7:44Speaker 1: do not stop because you have the coronavirus or that
- 7:48Speaker 1: there's an outbreak of it in the jail. And furthermore,
- 7:53Speaker 1: New York has passed their peak. Ghislaine Maxwell has no
- 7:58Speaker 1: underlying health conditions that we're aware of. She should not
- 8:02Speaker 1: be able to use the coronavirus as an excuse to
- 8:05Speaker 1: escape justice once again. And I believe that Judge Allison
- 8:08Speaker 1: Nathan made the correct call. It doesn't make any sense,
- 8:14Speaker 1: he said, before claiming that prosecutors in the case are
- 8:17Speaker 1: doing this to put pressure on her. No shit, moron.
- 8:21Speaker 1: No shit. That was exactly what I've said from the beginning.
- 8:24Speaker 1: These initial charges are hold charges. These are not the
- 8:27Speaker 1: only charges we're going to see, in my opinion. And Mr.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Doofus Geraldo Rivera just said the same thing, basically. They're
- 8:38Speaker 1: putting this pressure on her because they want her to rat.
- 8:42Speaker 1: They want her to spill the beans. And they want
- 8:44Speaker 1: the other co-conspirators to start to sweat. That's how this
- 8:48Speaker 1: stuff works. If you're not familiar with federal cases, and
- 8:52Speaker 1: you're one of those who are flipping out because, oh,
- 8:55Speaker 1: the trial's in a year, this kind of thing takes
- 8:57Speaker 1: a very long time. With some RICO cases, they're built
- 9:02Speaker 1: over multiple years, three, four, five years in some cases.
- 9:07Speaker 1: So it's not out of the norm for this case
- 9:09Speaker 1: to be tried a year from now. There is a
- 9:13Speaker 1: huge scope here, and it's a very broad and wide-ranging investigation.
- 9:19Speaker 1: And it's not just going to end right here with
- 9:21Speaker 1: Ghislaine Maxwell. That's just not likely. So Geraldo is answering
- 9:31Speaker 1: his own question here. One of the main reasons to
- 9:34Speaker 1: keep her in prison, one of the main reasons to
- 9:36Speaker 1: keep her without bail is to continue to put the
- 9:40Speaker 1: pressure on her. You want her to break. You want
- 9:43Speaker 1: her to rat on everybody. That's the point, Geraldo. They
- 9:51Speaker 1: are punishing her before conviction, Rivera argued. She has never
- 9:55Speaker 1: been held liable in a civil suit, never been convicted
- 9:57Speaker 1: of a crime. She is not Jeffrey Epstein. I think
- 10:00Speaker 1: this is a terrible, punitive decision. Sounds just like, what
- 10:04Speaker 1: did he get his talking points from Cohen? What did
- 10:07Speaker 1: Mark Cohen come over to Geraldo Rivera's office and drop
- 10:11Speaker 1: off the old talking points? Sure sounds that way. And furthermore,
- 10:17Speaker 1: She settled in her civil suit because she didn't want
- 10:20Speaker 1: to get to discovery, you epic moron. How about you
- 10:24Speaker 1: follow the case a little bit there, Mr. Geraldo, before
- 10:28Speaker 1: you pipe up and open your fat, stupid yap. Criminal
- 10:34Speaker 1: defense attorney, Janice Spielberg, largely agreed with Rivera, accusing U.S.
- 10:39Speaker 1: District Judge Allison Nathan of lacking the courage to do
- 10:42Speaker 1: what was really right in this. Are you kidding me
- 10:46Speaker 1: right now? The government has been dicking these girls over,
- 10:49Speaker 1: these survivors, for years. And you just want to go
- 10:52Speaker 1: ahead and compound that problem and let Ghislaine Maxwell walk free?
- 10:56Speaker 1: Hop on the next private jet provided to her by
- 10:59Speaker 1: insert intelligence agency here and cut out? Because that's definitely
- 11:03Speaker 1: a problem. What do these people want? They want her
- 11:07Speaker 1: to be free with an ankle bracelet, running around, living
- 11:10Speaker 1: the life still? Well, that ship has sailed, okay? There
- 11:14Speaker 1: has been a lack of justice in this case from
- 11:17Speaker 1: the very beginning. So if Judge Allison Nathan wants to
- 11:22Speaker 1: lay the hammer down, remand this lady to custody, and
- 11:26Speaker 1: let the government sink their teeth in, then I am
- 11:29Speaker 1: all for it. Geraldo Rivera and anyone else be damned.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Nathan ruled Tuesday that Maxwell, accused of sexually abusing and
- 11:39Speaker 1: exploiting young girls alongside the late convicted pedophile Epstein, posed
- 11:44Speaker 1: too great a flight risk to be allowed to leave. 100%.
- 11:48Speaker 1: We've went over that. She is definitely a flight risk, folks.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Are you kidding me right now? On what planet does
- 11:55Speaker 1: anyone believe that Ghislaine Maxwell is going to meekly sit
- 11:59Speaker 1: around in her luxury hotel and not have the wheels
- 12:03Speaker 1: turning on an escape plan? How long have I told
- 12:07Speaker 1: you that it's about self-preservation for these serpents? And Ghislaine
- 12:11Speaker 1: Maxwell is the master of self-preservation, folks. So if you
- 12:15Speaker 1: think that Ghislaine didn't have five plans ready to hatch,
- 12:18Speaker 1: you're wrong. She did. The judge emphasized that no combination
- 12:25Speaker 1: of conditions would ensure that Maxwell wouldn't try to leave
- 12:28Speaker 1: the country, noting her foreign connections and adding that she
- 12:31Speaker 1: exhibited an extraordinary capacity to evade detection. Yeah, like aluminum
- 12:36Speaker 1: foil on the phone, moving 36 times, not answering summons
- 12:41Speaker 1: by judges. It goes on and on. Okay? These aren't
- 12:45Speaker 1: the behaviors of somebody who's trying to avoid the press.
- 12:49Speaker 1: It's such a laughable argument. It is so full of
- 12:52Speaker 1: holes that it's not even worth punching more into their
- 12:56Speaker 1: stupid ass defense at this point. We are not supposed
- 13:01Speaker 1: to discriminate against people, not in our criminal justice system,
- 13:04Speaker 1: based on whether they have money or don't have money,
- 13:07Speaker 1: Spillbore said. What is your point? What does this have
- 13:10Speaker 1: to do with money? What do you think, they're trying
- 13:12Speaker 1: to make an example of Ghislaine Maxwell here? That's not
- 13:17Speaker 1: the case. This woman has been remanded to custody because
- 13:21Speaker 1: she has a risk to flee. Point blank, period. All
- 13:27Speaker 1: this other shit we're hearing from Spillbore and Geraldo Rivera,
- 13:32Speaker 1: that's just white noise, folks. A bunch of white noise. Garbage.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Rivera argued that Maxwell was not evading law enforcement, but
- 13:41Speaker 1: was rather laying low to avoid tabloids and the press.
- 13:45Speaker 1: How does he know that? So he's just, he's taking
- 13:47Speaker 1: the defense's word for it, huh? Okay, that's fine. You
- 13:51Speaker 1: can take the defense's word for it. They have no proof.
- 13:53Speaker 1: They have no evidence. So go ahead and be on
- 13:56Speaker 1: the losing side once again there, Geraldo Rivera. Why would
- 14:00Speaker 1: you want to change it up now? Your opinion has
- 14:03Speaker 1: always sucked. It continues to suck. And frankly, you're a
- 14:07Speaker 1: terrible newsman. She was hiding from the Daily Mail, he said.
- 14:15Speaker 1: She was hiding from the New York Post. She was
- 14:17Speaker 1: hiding from the National Enquirer. She was one of the
- 14:20Speaker 1: most sought-after, with the exception of Meghan Markle, the most
- 14:24Speaker 1: sought-after tabloid figure in the country. Stop. Hit the brakes.
- 14:28Speaker 1: You dumb jackass. How about if the legacy media, you know,
- 14:32Speaker 1: what you're part of, did their job hunting her down
- 14:35Speaker 1: to try and find her? It was only the so-called...
- 14:38Speaker 1: tabloids who gave a damn. So put a little respect
- 14:41Speaker 1: on their name from this search, huh? From this, uh,
- 14:43Speaker 1: from this investigation. Because you, Mr. Rivera, have done nothing
- 14:47Speaker 1: for the survivors. Except open your fat, stupid yap and
- 14:51Speaker 1: act like you know what you're talking about. I am
- 14:54Speaker 1: so tired of all of these Johnny-come-lately showing up at
- 14:57Speaker 1: this story acting like they know what's up. Acting like
- 15:00Speaker 1: they have their finger on the pulse. So many people
- 15:03Speaker 1: have been wrong at every single turn in this case.
- 15:06Speaker 1: So excuse me if I don't care what you have
- 15:09Speaker 1: to say. Remember, these charges relate to offenses that happened
- 15:15Speaker 1: 25 years ago, from 1994 to 1997, Rivera concluded. I
- 15:20Speaker 1: think these are charges that are wobbly on their face.
- 15:23Speaker 1: And for this judge to chicken out and not give
- 15:25Speaker 1: this defendant bail, I think is copping out to the mob.
- 15:31Speaker 1: These are hold charges, Harado. Okay? These are the charges.
- 15:38Speaker 1: They knew that they could get the stick right off
- 15:41Speaker 1: the bat with no BS. They didn't have to worry
- 15:44Speaker 1: about the NPA, the non-prosecution agreement. They didn't have to
- 15:48Speaker 1: worry about any of this. Don't be mad because they
- 15:51Speaker 1: pulled an end around. Don't be mad because the government
- 15:54Speaker 1: is using loopholes now. I never thought I'd see the
- 15:57Speaker 1: day that I was rooting for the government in a prosecution.
- 16:02Speaker 1: We all know I feel that the government is absolutely corrupt.
- 16:05Speaker 1: and was complicit in this for a long, long time.
- 16:08Speaker 1: But here now, well, the way Allison Moe is conducting herself,
- 16:13Speaker 1: and the way that Judge Nathan ruled already in this case,
- 16:17Speaker 1: it gives me some hope that we're turning a corner here,
- 16:20Speaker 1: and that there are still prosecutors and people within the
- 16:24Speaker 1: justice system who give a damn. Because we know from
- 16:28Speaker 1: past experiences that most of them haven't. So maybe this
- 16:33Speaker 1: is a new, a step in the right direction for
- 16:37Speaker 1: the SDNY. Because I'll tell you what, if Alison Moe
- 16:40Speaker 1: conducts herself the way she did yesterday in that hearing
- 16:43Speaker 1: throughout this trial, they are going to be in for
- 16:46Speaker 1: a long ride. She shredded them yesterday. She showed up
- 16:50Speaker 1: to that courtroom and she went Chuck Rhodes on these dudes.
- 16:55Speaker 1: And if I was Ghislaine Maxwell... Instead of Cohen, you
- 16:59Speaker 1: better call Saul because you're going to need a lot
- 17:01Speaker 1: more help in the courtroom. Maxwell's trial date is set
- 17:05Speaker 1: for July 2021 and an end is expected to last
- 17:07Speaker 1: two weeks. Well, I've already put my plans into motion,
- 17:15Speaker 1: locked in my living arrangements, and I plan on being
- 17:19Speaker 1: in New York for the duration of the trial. So
- 17:22Speaker 1: right now, it looks like I'll be touching down in
- 17:24Speaker 1: New York on July 10th. Thankfully, I'm originally from New York,
- 17:28Speaker 1: so I have plenty of places to stay. And I
- 17:31Speaker 1: plan on being down at the trial, at the courthouse,
- 17:34Speaker 1: every day that the trial is occurring. Because, like I said,
- 17:41Speaker 1: I want to see this through to the very end now.
- 17:43Speaker 1: We're in this so deep and we're getting to a
- 17:46Speaker 1: point where people who are involved are finally starting to
- 17:51Speaker 1: get a taste of what it feels like to be
- 17:54Speaker 1: the hunted, to be the prey. And it is not
- 17:58Speaker 1: the time to take the foot off the gas yet.
- 18:02Speaker 1: More indictments, speedy trials, and convictions. That is when a
- 18:12Speaker 1: stamp is put on it. That is when a bow
- 18:15Speaker 1: is tied upon it. Until then, we'll have to navigate
- 18:20Speaker 1: our way through the muddy waters, slapping around people like
- 18:23Speaker 1: Geraldo Rivera every time they start talking out of the
- 18:27Speaker 1: side of their neck. If you'd like to contact me,
- 18:31Speaker 1: you can do that at bobbycappucci at protonmail.com. That's B-O-B-B-Y-C-A-P-U-C-C-I
