- 0:03Good day.
- 0:04Welcome to the Midday Report on the America
- 0:06Aloud News Radio Network.
- 0:08I am your host, Dr.
- 0:10Franco Musio of the Counter Momentum of Spin.
- 0:14To our friends listening in the United States
- 0:17and around the world, I always say this,
- 0:19uh, especially recently.
- 0:21Uh, there's no lack of hard news items
- 0:23keeping our adrenaline going.
- 0:25Uh none at all.
- 0:27So um, yeah.
- 0:30What can I do?
- 0:31We're uh and all of us.
- 0:33Our aim here is to dissect is to
- 0:36dissect the nuances, to not only uh feed
- 0:40to our adrenaline, but search the foundations of
- 0:43all these events and the causes into which
- 0:46we come into contact now on a 24-hour
- 0:49day basis.
- 0:52So what's happened most recently?
- 0:54The title of this show, the Trump G
- 0:57summit rhetoric versus reality.
- 1:00And I am thrilled and privileged, definitely privileged
- 1:02to introduce uh now.
- 1:05I want to say the third, fourth time,
- 1:08retired naval aviator Captain Kenneth Dutch, uh Rauch,
- 1:10Rauch, Dutch for short, uh, who is basically
- 1:13too humbled for his own stature in the
- 1:15world of aviation and in the world of
- 1:18I would say geopolitics.
- 1:21He graduated from the U.S.
- 1:22Naval Academy in 1966, after which time his
- 1:26career skyrocketed, no pun intended.
- 1:30Uh, but but it did uh in in
- 1:32terms of well, I'm gonna name a few
- 1:34U.S.
- 1:36Naval Fighter Weapons School Top Gun instructor, Canadian
- 1:39Forces College, Toronto Cal Canada instructor.
- 1:43He's flown over 320 combat missions as an
- 1:46attack pilot, deployed twice to Vietnam.
- 1:48He flew the A4 Skyhawk and the A7
- 1:51uh Corsair aircraft.
- 1:54Um he became a test pilot for numerous
- 1:57aircraft to include the F-14, uh Top Gun
- 1:59Grumman.
- 2:02This is what Top Gun or I'm sorry,
- 2:04Tom Cat, Tomcat Grumman.
- 2:05This is what Top Gun One used.
- 2:08Uh his son flew the F-18 Super Hornet,
- 2:10which was seen in uh Top Gun Maverick,
- 2:13the second top gun.
- 2:16The Apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
- 2:18Uh Dutch has uh has been decorated uh
- 2:21uh a lot.
- 2:23Uh distinguished flying cross for heroism, an extraordinary
- 2:26achievement while participating in aerial flight.
- 2:29Um he's also a doctor, he's a PhD
- 2:31from MIT.
- 2:33He is, he doesn't want to admit that,
- 2:36but the uh the Navy Air Ciscom program
- 2:38for his work in the shuttle aircraft.
- 2:41Um he retired as an 06 in 1993
- 2:44and remains an expert in each East Asian
- 2:47affairs, as well as naval aviation, and he's
- 2:50uh he's a great student of geopolitics.
- 2:53That's why we have him about uh here
- 2:55about this particular show.
- 2:58So, Captain Rauch, welcome again to the show.
- 3:02Thank you.
- 3:03You are welcome.
- 3:06Oh no, no, you're quite welcome.
- 3:07So I I want to lay the groundwork
- 3:10as usual uh as an introduction and Dutch,
- 3:13please interfere, please intercept, please chime in whenever
- 3:16you wish.
- 3:19Okay.
- 3:19So this is the over the overview, the
- 3:21introduction.
- 3:23Okay.
- 3:24So I I'm gonna talk just a little
- 3:25bit about U.S.
- 3:26China summitry.
- 3:27Began with Richard Dixon.
- 3:29I remember watching that, and I'm sure you
- 3:31remember that in 1972 when he went to
- 3:34be he met with Chairman Mao Citang, Premier
- 3:36Zhou Enlai.
- 3:39Uh it really was kind of a breakthrough,
- 3:41at least at that time.
- 3:43It resulted in the Shanghai uh communique, served
- 3:45as a cold war reset, and designed to
- 3:48counterbalance the Soviet Union.
- 3:51Things have changed quite a bit since that
- 3:52time.
- 3:54So following that, there have been summits in
- 3:56the 90s, early 200s, it focused on economic
- 3:58ties.
- 4:00We had Bill Clinton.
- 4:01Uh, it would change the main, paved the
- 4:04way for China's entry into the World Trade
- 4:07Organization, 2001, uh, with George W.
- 4:10Bush, that administration in 2001, we had the
- 4:13Apex Summit in Shanghai, the Asian Pacific Economic
- 4:15Cooperation meetings.
- 4:18And um, yeah, then 2009 to 2016 under
- 4:22Obama, uh, we had summits, they were structured,
- 4:25highly structured, they were dialogue, kind of institutional
- 4:29dialogue frameworks, and so it led to the
- 4:33strategic and economic dialogue.
- 4:36Uh, they were comprehensive.
- 4:38They caught oh my god, they covered clock
- 4:39climate change.
- 4:41Yes, it did, the financial crisis.
- 4:44But now, 2017 to the present, taking into
- 4:48account Donald Trump's first presidency and now Kern.
- 4:52I I'm gonna kind of uh bypass Biden
- 4:55because it deserves being bypassed, in my opinion.
- 4:59So it's shifted, it shifted to a transactional
- 5:02and maybe a little bit confrontational style, except
- 5:05except the last one.
- 5:08So uh in 2017 Marlago, it was uh
- 5:10it produced a short-term 100-day action plan on
- 5:13trade.
- 5:15But after that, the relationships quickly deteriorated into
- 5:18our trade wars, sweeping tariffs and retaliations and
- 5:21so um, yeah, the the they want the
- 5:23cake and eat it too and and everything
- 5:26else, and maybe they say the same thing
- 5:29about us.
- 5:32But but I think we're we're a little
- 5:34bit different right now.
- 5:36And before I unleash Captain Rauch, whatever this
- 5:40is worth, are polls worth anything?
- 5:43I I don't think so.
- 5:45I I think I can speak for Captain
- 5:46Rouch on that one, but but it's kind
- 5:48of interesting.
- 5:49The Pew Research Center, which they say that
- 5:53they're bipartisan or non nonpartisan, nonpartisan.
- 5:56So now, today, or as of a month
- 5:58ago, 27% of U.S.
- 6:01adults view China favorably.
- 6:03Where 27% total Republican and Democrat.
- 6:07So it was up six percentage points from
- 6:10last year and double 2003.
- 6:13But but if you parse that out and
- 6:17look at uh Republicans, now 18% of Republicans,
- 6:2134% of Democrats view China favorably.
- 6:25The 18% actually has gone up from about
- 6:289% a couple of years ago for Republicans.
- 6:31Now, is that gonna serve anything?
- 6:34No, I don't think so.
- 6:35But what say you?
- 6:42And they require an answer whether you have
- 6:45got an answer or not.
- 6:47You're gonna say something.
- 6:50So the underlying part of this poll is.
- 6:58No.
- 6:58No, no, I don't either.
- 7:00Don't either.
- 7:00And then if you look at it scientifically,
- 7:00And then if you look at it scientifically,
- 7:02non scientifically, and and what bearing do they
- 7:03non-scientifically, and what bearing do they really have?
- 7:04really have?
- 7:06Um, tell me, what bearing on anything?
- 7:06Um, tell me, what bearing on anything?
- 7:09I I don't think so.
- 7:09I don't think so.
- 7:11But the bottom line of this particular introduction
- 7:11But the bottom line of this particular introduction
- 7:13is this.
- 7:13is this that now there's no trust, there's
- 7:15That now there's no trust.
- 7:15no lack, there's a lack of trust between
- 7:16There's no lack, there's a lack of trust
- 7:18the two countries, right?
- 7:18between the two countries, right?
- 7:20Both nations, US and China, they've engaged in
- 7:20Both nations, US and China.
- 7:22They've engaged in high level, we've had these
- 7:23high level, we've had these high-level summits, which
- 7:25high level summits, which I would refer to,
- 7:26I would prefer to, kind of to build
- 7:27kind of to build a
- 7:29a uh a strategic stability, kind of.
- 7:32So their aim was to, I guess, establish
- 7:37guardrails, uh, prevent misunderstandings, facilitate trade.
- 7:41That they did to facilitate trade agreements on
- 7:44you know, energy agriculture, aerospace.
- 7:47But it it's the focus is to manage
- 7:50competition and avoid really avoid conflict, avoid conflict
- 7:53rather than uh you know, fostering deep deep
- 7:56trust.
- 8:00What say you?
- 8:02Yes, quite.
- 8:04Yeah, I mean, um, I mean, I we're
- 8:06gonna talk about this in the third segment.
- 8:08Can we trust China?
- 8:10Absolutely not.
- 8:11My dear across the street neighbor, Nancy.
- 8:14Nancy, I'm not gonna use your last name,
- 8:15Nancy.
- 8:16She says, I I think he's a snake,
- 8:18meaning not Trump, meaning uh gee, he's a
- 8:20snake.
- 8:23And well, you think he's a snake?
- 8:26Yes.
- 8:28Is that it?
- 8:29Yes.
- 8:29You see, that's what I like about you.
- 8:31I I love that about you.
- 8:33There's no there's no bullshitting.
- 8:35You're black and white.
- 8:37You're black and white.
- 8:39Um, okay.
- 8:40I now I I want to dig deep
- 8:41about Taiwan because I've learned a lot about
- 8:43that.
- 8:45Basically, basically, we the United States and the
- 8:49world need Taiwan for sure.
- 8:53So mainly for their fabrication plants.
- 8:57So they're they're called foundries, the fabrication plants.
- 9:01So they're dedicated to semiconductor and then after
- 9:04semiconductor, the the chips, the microchips, designed by
- 9:06other companies, by the way.
- 9:09They're designed by Apple, Nvidia, AMD, advanced micro
- 9:11device.
- 9:14Um, and and they lead ultimately, so they're
- 9:16the design.
- 9:18They go to Taiwan, and then the Taiwan,
- 9:21uh, there's several, which are huge.
- 9:24That you have TSMC, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company,
- 9:26you have UMC, United Micro Electronics Corporation, you
- 9:29have Power Chick semiconductor manufacturers, blah, blah, blah,
- 9:32blah, blah.
- 9:35So what they do is they rely on
- 9:40an incredibly dense domestic supply chain.
- 9:44So they have chemical suppliers, they have packaging,
- 9:47they have testing firms like the ASE group,
- 9:50and it makes Taiwan's manufacturing kind of ecosystem
- 9:52difficult to replicate.
- 9:56Uh they're trying to do this in Oman,
- 9:57the Chinese, it's not working.
- 9:59But um, so that's why that's why they're
- 10:01so important.
- 10:05Uh and it's become more and more and
- 10:07more important.
- 10:09So what say you?
- 10:12Well, if you look at the uh totality
- 10:14of uh chip manufacturing, they produce 50% of
- 10:17the world's chips and 90% of the high-end
- 10:19chips.
- 10:22Right.
- 10:23So if you look at the history of
- 10:26the thing, um there's a guy named uh
- 10:30Cal Tai uh Cow Ten Lee in the
- 10:3370s who partnered with TRW in the States
- 10:36to start manufacturing.
- 10:39They did nothing.
- 10:41So he decided they had to have a
- 10:44manufacturing background, and uh he brought it in.
- 10:50T SMC is gigantic.
- 10:53It's huge, yeah.
- 10:54Yeah.
- 10:55So we rely for 40 years.
- 10:59Huh?
- 10:5940 years.
- 11:00We rely, the United States relies entirely on
- 11:02the Taiwanese boundaries.
- 11:04So we're the ones who provide the design,
- 11:06okay?
- 11:08Obviously, key.
- 11:09They're the ones who do the the manufacturing
- 11:11of it with with, as I said, the
- 11:13ecosystem.
- 11:15So you have here in the US, you
- 11:18have modern, ultra modern defense systems, you have
- 11:21our jets, you know this extremely well, intimately,
- 11:24the advanced fighter jets and missiles, uh, to
- 11:27cyber security, communication networks.
- 11:30They all depend on commercial microelectronics.
- 11:35So defense procurement relies on this on the
- 11:39chips, uh anywhere to consumer electronics, our computers.
- 11:44So the military relies on a secure and
- 11:47accessible semiconductor supply chain there in Taiwan to
- 11:50maintain our our edge.
- 11:53So I I think go ahead.
- 11:57Yes.
- 11:57I was just gonna say, just imagine if
- 12:00if the supply stopped because the Chinese intervened
- 12:03or because of something that happened in Taiwan,
- 12:05we'd be dead in the water.
- 12:09Right.
- 12:10So uh it's ultra ultra important, but if
- 12:13it wasn't for the semiconductor slash uh microchip
- 12:17industry, would we care?
- 12:20Would the United States care?
- 12:23Well, we we proclaim that we are the
- 12:26defenders of democracy, and then they're falls on
- 12:29the umbrella worldwide of our desire to promote
- 12:32democracy, right?
- 12:35They are democratic uh government, yes, but but
- 12:38no, no, yeah, well, in a way, but
- 12:41again, the chips, if if those chip, if
- 12:44those the production, if if China were to
- 12:47invade Taiwan, they would be very stupid to
- 12:49do that.
- 12:52But if they didn't, I I think they
- 12:55would never do it under this president, under
- 12:57future presidents, maybe, but if they were ever
- 13:00to do that, uh even they would be
- 13:02in severe trouble, would they not?
- 13:05Yes, which person are you you're talking about?
- 13:08I'm talking about I'm talking about Trump.
- 13:10I'm talking about Trump.
- 13:12They would never invade under Trump.
- 13:13Now, let's say some some kind of horrible
- 13:17nightmare happens, and we have a leftist democrat.
- 13:20I don't think that's ever gonna happen, but
- 13:22let's say we do.
- 13:23Uh, or let's say we go back to
- 13:26Biden, I mean Biden, a Biden type individual.
- 13:30Would they be more enticed?
- 13:32Uh uh maybe yes, but nonetheless, they would
- 13:34be shooting themselves in the foot, would they
- 13:36not?
- 13:39Yeah.
- 13:40I can't I can't envision a scenario like
- 13:42that.
- 13:44Right.
- 13:44But but it's a big talking point.
- 13:46It's a big talking point.
- 13:48Um, so so they have a threat.
- 13:53They have in Taiwan thousands of upstream suppliers.
- 13:58They have chemicals, they have gases, they have
- 14:00They have equipment, they have testing tools and
- 14:01equipment, they have testing tools, and recreating this,
- 14:04recreating this, this web uh in the US
- 14:05this web uh in the US is uh
- 14:08is uh although they're trying to right now,
- 14:09although they're trying to right now, uh prohibitively
- 14:12uh prohibitively expensive, slow, inefficient because it's there.
- 14:12expensive, slow, inefficient because it's there.
- 14:16So what they're doing, which I think is
- 14:16So what they're doing, which I think is
- 14:18excellent, is constructing new facilities.
- 14:18excellent is constructing new facilities.
- 14:21So we have the multi-billion dollar expansion of
- 14:21So we have the multi-billion dollar expansion of
- 14:23Intel at Intel and TSMC campuses here in
- 14:23Intel at Intel and TSMC campuses here in
- 14:26the US.
- 14:26the US.
- 14:29So it
- 14:29So it it's uh trying to achieve self-sufficiency,
- 14:32but it that that's an impossible goal.
- 14:35That's a clearly impossible goal.
- 14:38I think.
- 14:39But what thinks you what what thinks you?
- 14:42Great grammar, huh?
- 14:43What do you think?
- 14:46Well, you know, Trump has enticed all kinds
- 14:48of investment in uh Arizona, and I think
- 14:50that's bringing fruit.
- 14:54But yeah, you know, what but what is
- 14:56the production uh goal?
- 14:58You want enough chips to provide everything?
- 15:01You know, phones and military equipment, right?
- 15:05Or just enough to supply the military.
- 15:08Well I think it's a lot.
- 15:10Yeah, well, how about how about our computers?
- 15:13How about our you know, our commercial computers?
- 15:16How about your computer, my computer?
- 15:19Uh how about what we're talking on right
- 15:21this moment, our microphones, all of that's yeah,
- 15:24I know you know so what they're doing,
- 15:26they're going to Oman, the Chinese, and and
- 15:28they've tried to build up, so they have
- 15:31a polysilicone kind of pipeline there, but it's
- 15:33it's just not pure enough yet.
- 15:36It's not pure enough for uh to do
- 15:38what what we're doing.
- 15:40So so they have the um China my
- 15:43understanding now is that they're the the the
- 15:45leader in the world of supplying polysilicone, but
- 15:48but they're not able to purify it the
- 15:50way we are able to do that, which
- 15:52is what you need.
- 15:55So, yeah, they have they have uh projects
- 15:57in Iwan.
- 15:59It's like like the United Solar Plant and
- 16:02things of that nature, but but they're not
- 16:05able to to really have pure semiconductors and
- 16:08pure microchips.
- 16:11So they're funneling a lot of money, massive
- 16:14investments into massive polysilicone and and tech projects
- 16:17there, trying to get away from sanctions and
- 16:20what have you uh of US uh or
- 16:22or international, I should say, markets without friction
- 16:25directly with the US.
- 16:29But uh if you look at the they
- 16:31call it the tangibles, what what did we
- 16:34get or what happened from this summit?
- 16:37What resulted?
- 16:38I think it was kind of pretty good,
- 16:40and and I think there's a lot to
- 16:42come, but uh yeah, they re-registered China uh
- 16:45beef and chicken export facilities, I think like
- 16:47400 of them.
- 16:50They made a deal.
- 16:51I mean, all of this is to come,
- 16:53but initially the 200 Boeing aircraft, but and
- 16:56maybe a total of 750 later, Trump said
- 16:58if if they're happy with it.
- 17:01Um they have they have commitments, whatever this
- 17:04means that Beijing would not provide material support
- 17:07to Iran.
- 17:10Well, you believe that they say I have
- 17:12a bridge to sell you.
- 17:14Right, right?
- 17:15I have a lot of bridges to sell
- 17:15you.
- 17:17Um but but there are in in terms
- 17:19of trade and business, likely it was very
- 17:22successful.
- 17:25But but then oh, also they they agreed
- 17:27to review.
- 17:29See, all this is talk, all this is
- 17:30talk, but U.S.
- 17:32biotechnology traits, so genetically engineered characteristics on corn
- 17:35and cotton and soybean and all of that.
- 17:39So agriculturally, it looks like it was uh
- 17:40it was a win.
- 17:42Okay, let's put that on hold.
- 17:44We're gonna go to commercial break, and I'm
- 17:46gonna really unleash Dutch.
- 17:49I've been doing most of the talking on
- 17:50the other side, whole time.

- 18:51Now is our time, my fellow Americans.
- 18:55America outmaw.
- 19:04And we are back with Captain Dutch Crouch.
- 19:08So Dutch, I'm I'm talking too much here,
- 19:11but I was trying to go through the
- 19:13tangibles, but you were you were hunting and
- 19:16you were saying, well, this is the warning,
- 19:18and during this summit, the Chinese President Xi
- 19:21Jinping delivered um this warning to Trump, stating
- 19:23that uh Taiwan's uh is quote the most
- 19:26important issue in China U.S.
- 19:29relations.
- 19:29And I believe that's true.
- 19:31Yep.
- 19:32Well, this is what came out.
- 19:34Uh this is the wording.
- 19:35Uh the US delegation told everybody that mishandling
- 19:38the Taiwan issue would put quote bilateral relations
- 19:41in great jeopardy, warning it could lead to
- 19:44clashes and even conflicts.
- 19:47Now, that was clear, but as we said
- 19:52at the beginning, would would Taiwan have the
- 19:57stupidity to to cause any problems?
- 20:02And now what Trump said was he said
- 20:04nothing.
- 20:07He he he aired him out, he or
- 20:09meaning he listened to everything he had to
- 20:11say, and smart.
- 20:14I uh uh but he did he didn't
- 20:16respond.
- 20:18Trump didn't smart.
- 20:20Yeah, right.
- 20:21Yeah, yeah, I thought it was very smart
- 20:22actually.
- 20:24Yeah.
- 20:25Uh because if you start going and having
- 20:28a pissing contest, that's not going to lead
- 20:31to anything if if the premise is that
- 20:34China would be crazy to invade Taiwan for
- 20:37for their own self, their own purposes and
- 20:40uh surviving.
- 20:43I don't believe they're not gonna invade.
- 20:46No way.
- 20:47No way.
- 20:48Okay.
- 20:48Well, you know, I'm putting I don't want
- 20:50to put words in your mouth, but wh
- 20:52why why would they not invade?
- 20:55Well, first of all, 1949 when uh Chang
- 20:57Kai Shek went to Taiwan after the civil
- 21:00war with Mao.
- 21:00Taiwan after the civil war with Mao.
- 21:03He took about uh one and a half
- 21:03He took about uh one and a half
- 21:04million people with him.
- 21:04million people with him.
- 21:07They populated Taiwan and the rest of this
- 21:07They populated Taiwan and the rest of this
- 21:08islands.
- 21:10islands, and so there's a lot of Chinese
- 21:11And so there's a lot of Chinese on
- 21:13on the mainland and and what we think
- 21:14the mainland in what we think of China
- 21:15of China that have family family ties to
- 21:16that have family family ties to the people
- 21:18the people in Taiwan.
- 21:19in Taiwan.
- 21:22So are they gonna send people to fight
- 21:22So are they going to send people to
- 21:24their family?
- 21:24fight their family?
- 21:27I don't think so.
- 21:27I don't think so.
- 21:28Right.
- 21:28Right.
- 21:28Right.
- 21:28Right.
- 21:29The other thing is.
- 21:31Yeah, and you can see that uh the
- 21:34president of China is uh in factoring this
- 21:38because uh uh elections ago he uh was
- 21:41uh promoting a Chinese or a uh communist
- 21:45person who was gonna run for a president
- 21:48and he won.
- 21:52And he was very very happy with that,
- 21:54huh?
- 21:55That was like two years ago, was it
- 21:56not?
- 21:58Something like that.
- 21:59Uh yeah, something like that.
- 22:01Two, three years ago.
- 22:02Yeah.
- 22:02Okay.
- 22:03So you know, slow but sure, you know,
- 22:06Chinese thinking in decades.
- 22:09Yes.
- 22:10Yes.
- 22:10So they're winning.
- 22:11They are winning.
- 22:13They're winning after they're winning what?
- 22:16Or who's winning?
- 22:18They take over Taiwan.
- 22:20Oh, I see.
- 22:21I see.
- 22:21But but you just said now, take over
- 22:24versus invade.
- 22:26I guess you would have to you would
- 22:28have to invade first, right?
- 22:31Or not take over with an invasion.
- 22:34Okay.
- 22:34So there would no be no military action,
- 22:36no military action.
- 22:39But you're predicting they would take over Taiwan.
- 22:42Yes.
- 22:44Okay.
- 22:44So if that's the case, would that put
- 22:47in jeopardy put us in jeopardy in terms
- 22:49of the okay?
- 22:52Of course.
- 22:53Okay.
- 22:53All right.
- 22:54So if you read Mao, Mao is full
- 22:57of all kinds of uh nonviolence, and in
- 23:00spite of the fact there was a civil
- 23:03war in the country, but he wrote about
- 23:06nonviolent conquering of people.
- 23:11So that was his big thing.
- 23:13When do you predict something like this would
- 23:15happen?
- 23:16You said they think in terms of decades.
- 23:20Well, it could happen in decades, you know.
- 23:22In decades.
- 23:23It could happen in 2030, 2050, they'll be
- 23:26happy if it wins.
- 23:29So hence that same.
- 23:32So we should change the dynamics of that,
- 23:35take the bull by the horns, and create
- 23:38many more Taiwanese, if you will, processing plants,
- 23:40uh fabrication plants in the U.S., like is
- 23:43going on right now.
- 23:46Right.
- 23:47The thing is that the Chinese, as I
- 23:49said, they they think in terms of decades,
- 23:52we are the uh burger king of generation.
- 23:55We want it right now our way.
- 23:58We we've got to stop our thinking and
- 24:00think like the Chinese.
- 24:03Yeah, yeah.
- 24:04We have time.
- 24:05We have plenty of time.
- 24:07The US confrontation.
- 24:08Yeah, right.
- 24:09Uh-huh.
- 24:10Not be confrontational, and we can win this.
- 24:13So we've got to change the way we
- 24:15think.
- 24:16So we can win this by shifting these
- 24:18fabrication plants to the U.S., is that what
- 24:20you're telling me?
- 24:23We have time to do that, yes.
- 24:24So that's how we would win.
- 24:26Right.
- 24:27That's how we would win.
- 24:28Okay.
- 24:29Now, uh, yeah.
- 24:31So all of these warnings, I I I
- 24:33think this too, the arms sales.
- 24:35Now they're not only arms sales, so my
- 24:38understanding is that at the turn of the
- 24:41this year, there was an 11 billion package
- 24:43of defense systems that was approved.
- 24:46And then now, most recently, if you want
- 24:48to call it an additional, I don't know
- 24:51additional, but 14 billion package of advanced air
- 24:54defense systems for Taiwan.
- 24:56Now, I believe all of this has been
- 24:59approved, but it hasn't been effectuated.
- 25:02So you can see if you put yourself
- 25:05in or ourselves in their place, Chinese place.
- 25:08Um, man, this is a huge military investment.
- 25:13And Trump Trump didn't answer.
- 25:15So in fact, um he was being asked
- 25:18on Air Force One, um, and he's not
- 25:20revealing uh uh smart and not responding to
- 25:23defense plans for Taiwan.
- 25:26And he's but he did say I don't
- 25:28want to say regarding regarding U.S.
- 25:31actions.
- 25:32He said, I don't want to say, and
- 25:33he says there's only one quote, there's only
- 25:35one person that knows that.
- 25:37You know who that is?
- 25:39I'm the only person.
- 25:40I'm the only person.
- 25:42That's what he said.
- 25:44Oh, yeah.
- 25:44In response to to a reporter, he's the
- 25:46only person.
- 25:48Now, can we get away with not selling
- 25:52these uh defense systems because do we have
- 25:56enough already monitoring Taiwan?
- 26:01In other words, no, we don't.
- 26:03We do not.
- 26:04Okay.
- 26:04All right, we do not.
- 26:06So Taiwan has one of the most sophisticated
- 26:08militaries in the world next to ours, all
- 26:11because of our weapons systems.
- 26:14Right.
- 26:15Right.
- 26:17I don't know what the numbers are, but
- 26:19uh we have fewer people in Taiwan, Americans
- 26:22in Taiwan advisors, than we have in the
- 26:25Middle East.
- 26:28Fewer.
- 26:29And fewer, yes.
- 26:31And they have a they have a uh
- 26:35system whereby they have they take their systems
- 26:38and they don't uh regard them as American,
- 26:42they regard them as Taiwanese, and they make
- 26:46they fully integrate their systems, so they have
- 26:49a uh multi-layered defense system, so they incorporate
- 26:53our systems into their systems.
- 26:58Right.
- 26:59Go back to uh why uh Z is
- 27:01gonna invade.
- 27:04Please.
- 27:05Got a second for that.
- 27:07I have to thank him for that.
- 27:10No, why he's not going to Oh no,
- 27:12please, please, please tell me, tell us.
- 27:15Well, for one thing, it's no secret that
- 27:17the economy is failing.
- 27:20He can't start a war.
- 27:22He's got a birth rate that's less than
- 27:23one.
- 27:27So he has a very very unhappy population.
- 27:31And it's been fraud waste and abuse of
- 27:35kinds that we only are are beginning to
- 27:38discover in the country.
- 27:44I don't I don't think he has the
- 27:47the uh the uh stability in his country
- 27:49to bring about any mil military action.
- 27:52So they're very different than the Iranians, so
- 27:54to speak.
- 27:56They're not gonna fight till the very end,
- 27:58and they don't have a the uh crazy
- 28:00They don't have a the crazy theocracy that
- 28:01theocracy that kind of oversees that now it's
- 28:02kind of oversees that now it's it's communist,
- 28:04it's communist, but I I you know you
- 28:05but I you know you go to Shanghai
- 28:07go to Shanghai and then it's hard to
- 28:08and then it's hard to convince me that
- 28:10convince me that it's communist if you go
- 28:10it's communist if you go to Shanghai and
- 28:12to Shanghai and you turn on the television
- 28:13you turn on the television every night in
- 28:15every night in terms of the stock market,
- 28:16terms of the stock market, the Chinese stock
- 28:18the Chinese stock market, right?
- 28:18market, right?
- 28:21That's that's not like Russia.
- 28:21That's that's not like Russia.
- 28:24It isn't.
- 28:24It isn't.
- 28:25He he wants his cake and eat it
- 28:25He he wants his cake and eat it
- 28:27too, just like I said before, regarding business.
- 28:27too, just like I said before regarding business,
- 28:29but also communism, right?
- 28:32I think I think the way the way
- 28:34I look at it.
- 28:36Um so let me ask you: do you
- 28:39think these weapons systems are important for us
- 28:43to sell or the uh missile anti-missile defense
- 28:46systems to Taiwan?
- 28:50Are they important to do?
- 28:51And could could Trump potentially put that on
- 28:54hold indefinitely?
- 28:58No, he's got to keep building up Taiwan
- 29:01to keep it technologically at the forefront.
- 29:05So I'm gonna read something to you.
- 29:07This this is good.
- 29:08It's always okay Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
- 29:12He told NBC News.
- 29:13I mean, he he's good, he's good, that
- 29:15the U.S.
- 29:16policy toward Taiwan was quote, unchanged, and cautioned
- 29:19that it would be quote, a terrible mistake
- 29:21for China to try to take Taiwan by
- 29:23force.
- 29:26And he said, well, quote, they always raise
- 29:29it on their side.
- 29:32We always make clear our position, and we
- 29:34move on to other topics.
- 29:36So in other words, this isn't uh a
- 29:38new situation.
- 29:40Whereas no, they've always it's a box they
- 29:42always have to check.
- 29:44Yeah, yeah, but Trump kept his mouth shut.
- 29:46Now, I'm gonna add something to this.
- 29:48The backdrop, the backdrop of this summit was
- 29:52extremely different than any other backdrop.
- 29:56The backdrop is that we have and will
- 30:00continue to annihilate Iran, and of course, more
- 30:03to come, probably in the next couple days.
- 30:06Uh Z knows that, right?
- 30:09So if you if you will, that's that's
- 30:11the elephant big elephant in the room.
- 30:13So he knows that the United States has
- 30:15overwhelming power.
- 30:18And and it's been demonstrated time and time
- 30:20again, and in terms of risk taking, you
- 30:22know, like Colombia.
- 30:25We got, you know, by the way, I
- 30:27think there were Chinese guards there too, um,
- 30:29guarding Maduro, I believe, but we wiped them
- 30:31out too.
- 30:33We haven't had a full report of how
- 30:35many people we've actually killed in terms of
- 30:37trying to and and successfully extracting Maduro and
- 30:40his wife.
- 30:42Um, but the bottom line is it speaks
- 30:44for itself.
- 30:47The United States uh superiority, military superiority, speaks
- 30:50for itself.
- 30:53Consequently, I think that psychologically, Trump um, yes,
- 30:56he made a great decision by not responding,
- 30:59but uh to what are we going to
- 31:02do about Taiwan?
- 31:06Um, but but he let that speak for
- 31:08itself, basically.
- 31:11Am I wrong?
- 31:13No, that's right.
- 31:15The structure of our our our uh delegation
- 31:18that went over was totally different, we all
- 31:21the CEOs went, and that it you know,
- 31:25we were trying to obviously bring about a
- 31:28change in business, and Taiwan was going to
- 31:31get mentioned and be overshadowed by you know
- 31:35a business thing.
- 31:39So that was good.
- 31:40He got the Taiwan thing out there, he
- 31:42got it and dealt with it.
- 31:45Well, he dealt with it, he dealt with
- 31:46it by not dealing with it.
- 31:48In other words, by not no, no, by
- 31:50not addressing it, I should say.
- 31:51He's dealing with it for sure, but by
- 31:53not addressing it.
- 31:55Trumpish.
- 31:55Right.
- 31:56Very trumpish, yes.
- 31:58Uh by not by not addressing it.
- 32:00We're gonna we're gonna talk about the Trump
- 32:02character and the art of the deal on
- 32:04the other side with the next uh the
- 32:06next segment, which is kind of kind of
- 32:08interesting.
- 32:10So he brought, yeah, a lot of business
- 32:13people with him, but not only business people,
- 32:16Trump uh Musk is not only uh a
- 32:19master business person, he's uh an engineer, or
- 32:22he's got master engineers working for him.
- 32:25And so I I want to get into
- 32:28this a little bit because um why did
- 32:31Trump not bring up the issue?
- 32:34Or or in his mind, this was pageantry
- 32:37and basically a show to the world, and
- 32:40he was Mr.
- 32:43Nice Guy.
- 32:44I mean, he was kissing his ass, was
- 32:45he not?
- 32:48Trump was, but but he was doing that
- 32:50on purpose, I think.
- 32:52I I believe, because he is a master
- 32:55manipulator, and he can be extremely charming and
- 32:59extremely nice when he wants to be.
- 33:02On the other hand, he could be devastating
- 33:04too.
- 33:05Um, but this wasn't the time to do
- 33:07that.
- 33:08This was the time to be nice and
- 33:10charming and call him a great leader and
- 33:12blah blah blah.
- 33:15Whereas some of the critiques are that he
- 33:17was he was actually too nice, but in
- 33:20your estimation, was he too nice?
- 33:23No, he's very deceptive.
- 33:27He was very deceptive.
- 33:30Do you think that Chinese bought it?
- 33:33No.
- 33:34But they were had they got had.
- 33:38How were they had?
- 33:39Tell me.
- 33:42His deception worked.
- 33:44Uh-huh.
- 33:45And there's nothing they could do about it.
- 33:48They were overwhelmed with the airplane landed.
- 33:52Overwhelmed with what?
- 33:53With the nice how nice Trump was.
- 33:56Yeah, and everybody got off the airplane.
- 34:00From that moment, he lost.
- 34:02From Z lost.
- 34:04Okay.
- 34:05Z lost, right, right.
- 34:07Okay.
- 34:07So you're telling me it's like if you
- 34:09analyze a debate.
- 34:12So now with the Republicans or Democrats, whoever
- 34:15debates for uh for uh nominations, and then
- 34:19there's this huge, huge post-debate dissection.
- 34:23It's like Monday morning quarterbacking, if you will.
- 34:26And you know, this person won, that person
- 34:27won.
- 34:28No, I think this person won.
- 34:30Well, but Biden, Biden clearly won based on
- 34:32his wife.
- 34:35So, you know, Joe, you answered all the
- 34:36questions.
- 34:37Remember that?
- 34:38Remember that?
- 34:40So what planet was she living on?
- 34:42But but in this, in this case, if
- 34:45you really look at it and and you
- 34:48get beyond the words and the the figure
- 34:50and and you know uh the flowers and
- 34:53all that stuff.
- 34:56If the reporters were smart enough, they would
- 34:59go into the psychology, I think, of this.
- 35:00Psychology, I think, of this.
- 35:03But you know, you have some people say,
- 35:03But you know, you have some people say,
- 35:04no, Trump lost, Trump lost.
- 35:05no, Trump lost, Trump lost, he was kissing
- 35:06He was kissing his ass.
- 35:07his ass, it was blah, blah, blah.
- 35:07It was blah, blah, blah.
- 35:09No, I mean, the the reporters have no
- 35:09No, I mean, the the reporters have no
- 35:10clue what they're talking about.
- 35:10clue what they're talking about.
- 35:12So let me uh if you take a
- 35:12So let me uh yeah, you know, if
- 35:14look at the rival.
- 35:15you take a look at the arrival, your
- 35:17Your rival was pageantry over substance.
- 35:17rival was pageantry over substance.
- 35:20Right.
- 35:20Right.
- 35:21Right.
- 35:21Right.
- 35:22Right.
- 35:22Right.
- 35:23Maybe a little bit like when we hosted
- 35:23Maybe a little bit like when we hosted
- 35:25Putin in Anchorage, maybe.
- 35:25Putin in Anchorage, maybe.
- 35:27Remember?
- 35:27Remember?
- 35:28Um last year when
- 35:28Um last year when Putin.
- 35:31Well, some well, then we had then we
- 35:34had the fighter jets over right over him.
- 35:36Remember that.
- 35:37That was good.
- 35:42That was really good.
- 35:43And I you can see Putin, his expression,
- 35:45he was kind of looking up and thinking,
- 35:47oh shit.
- 35:49Oh my God.
- 35:51Is this what we're gonna have to deal
- 35:52with?
- 35:53So now State Department is not been weeks,
- 35:55it's been years.
- 35:57We've accused Chinese firms of satellite imagery to
- 36:00the Iranian government, providing them.
- 36:02And the Treasury Department has moved to target
- 36:05Chinese oil refineries, accusing them of buying oil
- 36:08from Tehran, which I think is true, and
- 36:10as well as the shippers of the oil,
- 36:13all this stuff.
- 36:16So they do things, but then remember what
- 36:17Trump said?
- 36:19He says, Well, they spy on us, we
- 36:20spy on them, we do it to each
- 36:22other.
- 36:24And he was kind of making light of
- 36:25that.
- 36:26Um what do you say about that?
- 36:30Well, it's a reality in acknowledged it.
- 36:34We spy on them, yes.
- 36:35They spy on us, yes.
- 36:38Yeah.
- 36:38Okay.
- 36:39So it's not new.
- 36:40But I'm gonna tell you something we don't
- 36:42do, or or maybe we do.
- 36:43Maybe there's a whole whole lot we're not
- 36:45aware of.
- 36:47Do you remember Fang Fang?
- 36:48She came and uh with what's his name
- 36:51Swalwell, and got God knows how many more
- 36:53Chinese spies.
- 36:56It's just like the Russian the movies on
- 36:58um what is it, the James Bond movies,
- 37:01and you have these Russian prostitutes or or
- 37:04Russian very women, right?
- 37:07And but do we supply American prostitutes or
- 37:10American spies to China?
- 37:14And don't know yes.
- 37:17Uh-oh.
- 37:18Uh uh.
- 37:20I guess I'm naive, huh?
- 37:21Okay, all right.
- 37:22My my naivete has to wait until the
- 37:24other side.
- 37:26So we will we will be back with

- 37:53You wouldn't go a day without brushing your
- 37:55teeth or washing your hands.
- 37:56What about washing your nose?
- 37:59I mean, your nose does filter the air
- 38:01you breathe, air loaded with bacteria, viruses, and
- 38:03irritants, make nasal hygiene part of your routine
- 38:05with clear.
- 38:07No messy bottles to fill, no drowning sensation.
- 38:10Clear is a natural drug-free saline with the
- 38:13added benefit of xylitol, which blocks bacterial and
- 38:15viral adhesion, available in stores and online at
- 38:18clear.com.
- 38:20That is X L E A R and
- 38:24Welcome back to my take.
- 38:29So I uh in terms of how we
- 38:32spy on Russia.
- 38:34I or on well, Russia too, by the
- 38:35way.
- 38:37China.
- 38:38All right.
- 38:39So um, here we go.
- 38:40The art of the deal, the book, the
- 38:42art of the deal.
- 38:43And I didn't know this, but whatever it's
- 38:46worth, it was written by two people, not
- 38:48only Trump, it was written by somebody named
- 38:50Schwartz.
- 38:53And um Schwartz was actually during Trump's 2016
- 38:56presidential campaign.
- 38:59That this is when the silence broke, that
- 39:02the Schwartz either uh Tony Schwartz, he was
- 39:04a journalist, an American journalist, he uh he
- 39:07ghost wrote that 1987 business memoir, The Art
- 39:10of the Deal.
- 39:12He he actually wrote that or had it
- 39:14had a large contribution.
- 39:16Either way, either way, um the question is
- 39:19did Trump did Trump ascribe or go along
- 39:22with his tenets of the art of the
- 39:25deal.
- 39:28It was just just came up to me
- 39:30recently while I was driving.
- 39:31So, but I want to mention one thing
- 39:33before that.
- 39:34So, guess who is going to pay a
- 39:37visit to China this coming week, between the
- 39:4019th, I what in a couple days, 19
- 39:43to the 20th, to solidify their quote, comprehensive
- 39:46strategic partnership.
- 39:50Well, our friend Vladimir Putin, which is not
- 39:53not our friend, but but that's what they're
- 39:55gonna solidify, quote, comprehensive strategic partnership.
- 39:59Now, excuse me, in all fairness, Trump was
- 40:01to have met with G a month earlier,
- 40:03or maybe a little more than that, but
- 40:06because of the Iranian war, he had to
- 40:08postpone that.
- 40:11So I don't think the Putin, I I
- 40:14don't think it was deliberately designed to come
- 40:18right after the the Trump meeting, but they're
- 40:21gonna talk about their friendships, and they're gonna
- 40:24condemn uh commemorate their 25th anniversary of the
- 40:272001 Sino-Russian Treaty of Friendship.
- 40:31So is this all talk and and also
- 40:34window dressing, or or is it true?
- 40:38What do you think?
- 40:39Well, I don't think we can uh discuss
- 40:41much that they could agree on.
- 40:44You know, you have to look at the
- 40:48fact that they are economically their competitors and
- 40:51uh strategically, militarily, they're competitors.
- 40:55The best thing that could happen to the
- 40:57meeting is for us in the United States
- 40:59to not cover it.
- 41:03Turn Fox off and turn off the uh
- 41:05ABC and NBC all the rest of them.
- 41:08Well, yeah, the left wing, yeah.
- 41:11Yeah, and just ignore it.
- 41:13That'll make it not happen.
- 41:16So well, no, I'm not even talking about
- 41:17the media.
- 41:19Um, because the media, even the right wing
- 41:22media, by the way, by the way, if
- 41:25you analyze this, uh if you analyze this,
- 41:28so I I I specifically look at more
- 41:31right-sided media, not wing media.
- 41:34Uh but um and what sorry for my
- 41:38my timer here.
- 41:41I apologize.
- 41:43Uh my stopwatch.
- 41:45So I don't, but but on the other
- 41:47hand, a lot of good, good, good, good,
- 41:50good is reported by the the right side
- 41:53or Washington Times, let's say.
- 41:56I I have a a good friend, and
- 41:59what he does, he gets both the and
- 42:00And he's he's Republican, but he subscribes to
- 42:01he's he's Republican, but he subscribes to the
- 42:03the Washington Post and the Washington Times.
- 42:04Washington Post and the Washington Times.
- 42:07He says maybe somewhere in the middle is
- 42:07He says maybe somewhere in the middle is
- 42:08the truth.
- 42:08the truth.
- 42:10Or or Al Jazeera, by the way, Al
- 42:10Or Al Jazeera, by the way, Al Jazeera
- 42:12Jazeera or BBC.
- 42:12or BBC.
- 42:14Now, they have their own leanings.
- 42:14Now, they have their own leanings, BBC definitely
- 42:15does.
- 42:16BBC definitely does.
- 42:17So what is true?
- 42:17So, what is true?
- 42:19What is right?
- 42:19What is right?
- 42:20I don't even know.
- 42:20I don't even know.
- 42:22But you you're saying, but but I suspect
- 42:22But you're saying, but but I suspect they
- 42:24they both feed into Iran.
- 42:24both feed into Iran.
- 42:26My suspicion, my suspicion.
- 42:26My suspicion, my suspicion, I don't know.
- 42:29I don't know.
- 42:30I don't know what you think about that,
- 42:32but my suspicions are that they both do.
- 42:35Trump said it would be an honor for
- 42:38us to sell oil to China.
- 42:40And China said, Well, we're gonna think about
- 42:41that.
- 42:42I I thought they already agreed to that,
- 42:43and I think we do sell them some
- 42:45oil.
- 42:46But um, yeah, I I this is all
- 42:49uh take away the media because if you
- 42:53really get to bare bones between Putin and
- 42:56G, you said that they are competitors, but
- 42:59they smile and do all of that.
- 43:02So I guess if you want to say,
- 43:05I guess you want to say the diplomacy.
- 43:07I I don't know.
- 43:09But um I I'm gonna I'm gonna shift
- 43:11a little bit and go to this book
- 43:14because I think there's some principles in there
- 43:17that are good that are not only good
- 43:19that are good for but he wrote it
- 43:22from a business sense, right?
- 43:25But but if you took talk about any
- 43:28negotiations, so so there's some takeaways, like think
- 43:31big, think big.
- 43:34So he argues that uh since you have
- 43:37to think anyway, you should always aim for
- 43:40lofty goals as they attract the most attention
- 43:42and energy.
- 43:45Now you have to temper that based on
- 43:47the context, you have to temper that you
- 43:49can't just go go on with some outrageous
- 43:51statements.
- 43:54But was Trump thinking big when he met
- 43:56with Xi Jinping?
- 44:00I think so.
- 44:01But you know, there's one thing he's not
- 44:04gonna do is tip his hand to us,
- 44:07he he's famous for you know doing things
- 44:10and not telling anybody about it, but it's
- 44:13too so what about his inner circle, meaning
- 44:16not only his cabinet, but uh the National
- 44:19Security Council.
- 44:22By the way, he's gonna be meeting with
- 44:25these people uh very soon, and uh uh
- 44:28he he will have met already when when
- 44:31this uh this airs uh or in the
- 44:34process of about what to do with Iran,
- 44:37so um yeah, think big so he hides
- 44:40things even even to his own citizens.
- 44:43Um I wonder if yeah, well, create and
- 44:47maximize options, that's another principle or tenant.
- 44:51So in business, you know, he's uh um
- 44:54deals can fall through regardless of how promising
- 44:57they look initially, business, actually any kind of
- 45:00relationship, and and but what he said, or
- 45:03what his ghostwriter said was to keep multiple
- 45:06options open and have backup plans, not only
- 45:09plan B but plan C and plan D
- 45:12ready at all times.
- 45:15Do you think that has been operative or
- 45:17in his back pocket?
- 45:20Yeah, yeah.
- 45:21Well what do you get in any guys
- 45:23and thought through completely?
- 45:27So what do you think plan B or
- 45:29C would be with China?
- 45:33I mean, in addition to having our uh
- 45:36in addition to having you know our microchip
- 45:40fabrication plants in Arizona and such.
- 45:43Um you think he's got backup plans if
- 45:46if if for example this summit were a
- 45:49complete I I think it wouldn't have been,
- 45:51I think it's predetermined that it would be
- 45:54a quote unquote success in terms of imagery.
- 45:57But you think he's got yeah, he's got
- 46:01plans something that is just simply to wait
- 46:04them out, yeah.
- 46:08Play the Chinese at their own game, so
- 46:11in other words, you don't think Trump would
- 46:14have just gotten really really upset at a
- 46:16meeting and just walked out of the meeting.
- 46:19That would not have happened.
- 46:21I think Reagan did that, did he not?
- 46:23Uh with Russia at one point.
- 46:25I think he did.
- 46:26Yeah, I think he did.
- 46:28Yeah.
- 46:29Um but but different scenario right now completely.
- 46:34So okay, another one, protect the downside.
- 46:37So again, this is business, but it's so
- 46:40instead of obsessing over potential profits, he said
- 46:43always focus on the worst case scenario, and
- 46:46if you can live with the worst-case outcomes,
- 46:49the upside will take care of itself.
- 46:52So I don't know.
- 46:54I don't know.
- 46:55What do you think of that?
- 46:58I think that's true.
- 47:00If you look at his business uh experience,
- 47:03how many uh bankruptcy did he go through?
- 47:06Quite a few.
- 47:08Yeah, right.
- 47:10So he focused on his bailouts, as part
- 47:13of his progression towards becoming the biggest uh
- 47:17real estate person in the world.
- 47:22It was all a success.
- 47:24Yep.
- 47:24No, but in terms of China, could you
- 47:27translate that into uh or extrapolate that with
- 47:29China?
- 47:32Okay, what's the what's the worst case scenario
- 47:34with China?
- 47:35They invade Taiwan.
- 47:37Okay, well, that's not a good one, but
- 47:39as you said, you think that that's only
- 47:41in dreams that that would happen.
- 47:43Yeah.
- 47:45I think going into this, he has to
- 47:48assume that that will never happen.
- 47:52Okay.
- 47:53All right.
- 47:53And he negotiates at that point.
- 47:57So meaning you don't even negotiate, you just
- 47:59keep your mouth shut sometimes.
- 48:01Right.
- 48:01Uh um that's why you say that.
- 48:04Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 48:05Yeah, a good friend of mine um was
- 48:08dealing with him quite a bit, and um
- 48:11I remember he was in the Bush cabinet,
- 48:14and I remember he was telling me that
- 48:17when it came to certain domestic issues, he
- 48:20came out and told him exactly what he
- 48:24thought, you know, very respectfully, but ABCD.
- 48:27Trump didn't say a word, he just looked
- 48:29at him, shook his head, and you know,
- 48:31he absorbed it.
- 48:33And so here's another one creative hyperbole.
- 48:36So Trump believes in truthful hyperbole.
- 48:39So he does promoting your own abs uh
- 48:43and ideas with bravado and excitement is essential.
- 48:47So so you but but you have to
- 48:49deliver the goods, so otherwise people will catch
- 48:51on, of course.
- 48:53So you have to deliver genuine value.
- 48:56So what is the genuine value or is
- 48:59there in terms of our delivering to China
- 49:00Delivering to China.
- 49:02that that they know that we can we
- 49:05can militarily take care of them?
- 49:07We can militarily take care of them.
- 49:09Is that what the deliverables are?
- 49:09Is that what the deliverables are?
- 49:12Or or that we would really be true
- 49:12Or that we would really be true economic
- 49:16economic partners with him, and um, you know,
- 49:16partners with him.
- 49:20with his country, and really be the good
- 49:21And um, you know, with his country, and
- 49:23really be the good guys in a certain
- 49:23guys in a certain respect.
- 49:25respect.
- 49:27I don't know if that's possible.
- 49:27I don't know if that's possible, but.
- 49:29But it's possible.
- 49:31And uh we went out out there with
- 49:35uh hand outreach by taking all the CEOs
- 49:38over there, and he ignored the uh about
- 49:42Taiwan.
- 49:47Yeah, you know something interesting.
- 49:49If you saw some of the pictures, they
- 49:51say sometimes pictures speak a thousand words.
- 49:54Well, it was very funny because during one
- 49:57of the dinners, uh Musk was there, Elon
- 50:00Musk, and all of the Chinese were just
- 50:03just uh the Chinese businessmen, they were going
- 50:06crazy wanting to do you see that wanting
- 50:09to have pictures taken with him.
- 50:12So almost like you know, the coming of
- 50:14Jesus Christ, the the second coming, uh he
- 50:17was almost revered as a god by the
- 50:19China the Chinese themselves.
- 50:22So they wanted all these pictures, and he
- 50:24didn't want those pictures.
- 50:27I mean, he was sick of pictures, I
- 50:28guess.
- 50:29So he was making funny faces and all
- 50:30of that.
- 50:31Now I don't know, was he just trying
- 50:34to be funny, but but but they were
- 50:38serious, they wanted their pictures with Elon Musk.
- 50:41So they basically revered him, the Chinese, the
- 50:45Chinese businessmen that were there, which is good,
- 50:48which is uh yes, yes, absolutely.
- 50:52All right, I want you to respond to
- 50:53this.
- 50:55I I wrote an article, it was last
- 50:58year, but it was a medical article mainly
- 51:02about the Chinese stealing our intellectual property, but
- 51:05our medical inner uh intellectual property.
- 51:09So you could extrapolate this to other fields.
- 51:13Um also, by the way, I I'm a
- 51:16little bit perturbed by the thousands and thousands
- 51:20and thousands of Chinese students that are here
- 51:23at all all levels, you know.
- 51:26It even goes from grade school, grade school
- 51:29to college to graduate schools to upper level
- 51:31degrees, PhDs.
- 51:34Uh, they all come with money.
- 51:36Well, that's what Trump said, and he said,
- 51:40you know, not so much the larger excuse
- 51:43me, uh more prosperous universities, but the smaller
- 51:47ones, the middle level, and what have you.
- 51:51He said that uh, well, you know, it
- 51:53it's very valuable for their income.
- 51:56Now I don't uh yes, but at the
- 52:00same time, uh isn't there an inherent danger
- 52:04in allowing this, in allowing this.
- 52:09I mean, we we have a few American
- 52:12students going there to learn Chinese, if you
- 52:15will, and and that that's our interest, the
- 52:18language, but not for technology or science or
- 52:21medicine, but we have tons here.
- 52:24Isn't that a bad thing?
- 52:28I think so.
- 52:30Okay.
- 52:31Our students in China are getting very little
- 52:34acceptal language version.
- 52:38But all the students are here uh capturing
- 52:41parts of our technology and taking it home.
- 52:44100%.
- 52:46Right.
- 52:49Okay, but wait a minute.
- 52:50These are not just students.
- 52:52These are research students that are on the
- 52:55cutting edge of development in this country.
- 53:00They bring they bring tons of money, which
- 53:02you know, all the places like MIT and
- 53:05all the ivy's, you know, all they think
- 53:07about is the money.
- 53:10Well, yeah, yeah.
- 53:11Uh the two.
- 53:15Well, most universities and many universities need to
- 53:17survive, obviously.
- 53:20But at the same time, uh uh you're
- 53:22compromising our own standard.
- 53:25You're compromising, or meaning not you, but our
- 53:29uh security, our security.
- 53:32Um, anyway, I'm gonna read to you a
- 53:34comment that I made, some comments, see what
- 53:36you say.
- 53:39So I'm quoting myself.
- 53:40I am eagerly sharing my experience and insight
- 53:43on this topic, the topic meaning stealing medical
- 53:46uh technology, in light of the ramping up
- 53:49of cognitive warfare against our country and the
- 53:51clear ongoing theft of intellectual property by China
- 53:54against the United States.
- 53:57There are many well-known overt examples of the
- 54:01latter, including cases involving DuPont, Micron, uh, Akin
- 54:04Semiconductor, Tesla, Motorola, and Huntsman Corporation, as well
- 54:08as numerous ongoing covert occurrences.
- 54:12Achieving the status of the United States has
- 54:14been a long time goal of China, the
- 54:17Chinese, in multiple, possibly all domains, including the
- 54:19medical sciences.
- 54:22What say you absolutely what?
- 54:32Well, so meaning, meaning they they want to
- 54:35copy us, they want to copy us, they
- 54:37want to be us.
- 54:40Yeah, they're military.
- 54:43Well, everything they've got in their military is
- 54:45a copy of something we built.
- 54:49What about their masters of reverse engineering?
- 54:54Yeah, yeah.
- 54:56Uh so military hardware, but but also medical
- 54:58things.
- 55:00I I received an invitation in Wuhan to
- 55:03go to Wuhan and work, and it was
- 55:06supposed to be a very distinguished uh honor
- 55:09to go work in Wuhan in the Institute
- 55:12of Excellence.
- 55:15It's called the Institute of Excellence.
- 55:17Oh, good for you.
- 55:21So I I was thinking, okay, what are
- 55:23they gonna pay?
- 55:26But even even no matter what, notwithstanding, I
- 55:27wouldn't have gone.
- 55:29But so it was like all the great,
- 55:31all the great food you could have.
- 55:33Oh, yeah, oh I was telling my son
- 55:36yesterday, he's in London right now about the
- 55:38bats, and you know the uh the animal.
- 55:41Oh god.
- 55:42That's where this stuff came from, the COVID,
- 55:43or at least it was propagated.
- 55:45I think it originated in the laboratory, but
- 55:47then it was propagated.
- 55:48So these open-air animal markets.
- 55:52Oh my god, it's disgusting.
- 55:54But but it was a Wuhan, and yeah,
- 55:56they were gonna host me and blah blah
- 55:58blah, and and but instead of what they
- 56:00But instead of what they did with the
- 56:01did with the uh Olympians, you remember those
- 56:02uh Olympians, you remember those two girls, the
- 56:03two girls, the Olympians, half Chinese, half American,
- 56:05Olympians, half Chinese, half American, giving them millions
- 56:05giving them millions and millions and millions of
- 56:07and millions and millions of dollars.
- 56:07dollars.
- 56:10No, it wasn't very lucrative.
- 56:10No, it wasn't very lucrative.
- 56:12So I either way, I said, no, thank
- 56:12So I either way, I said, no, thank
- 56:14you.
- 56:14you.
- 56:15So uh I mean, and they've they've infiltrated
- 56:15So uh I mean and they've they've infiltrated
- 56:19our medical system, let me tell you.
- 56:19our medical system, let me tell you.
- 56:24All right, Dutch, we're gonna have to leave
- 56:24All right, Dutch, we're gonna have to leave
- 56:25it here.
- 56:25it here.
- 56:26I mean, it's a pleasure.
- 56:26I mean, it's a pleasure, as always.
- 56:29As always, as always.
- 56:31Um, so thank you so much for sharing
- 56:33sharing your insights.
- 56:35It's been great.
- 56:37So you are quite, quite welcome.
