- 0:00Speaker 1: Mister New York Mark Simone war Well. Steve Forbes, the
- 0:08Speaker 1: chairman of Forbes Media and author of many great books.
- 0:12Speaker 1: You should get his latest book, Inflation. You will really
- 0:14Speaker 1: learn a lot. Highly recommended Steve Forbes's latest book, Inflation.
- 0:18Speaker 1: You can get it on Amazon course read Forbes Media.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Steve Forbes, How.
- 0:23Speaker 2: You doing doing fine? Thanks? I'm in Arkansas today, Sonny, Arkansas?
- 0:30Speaker 2: So I think they have warm weather here. You have
- 0:33Speaker 2: warm weather there. And the Yankees won a game last night,
- 0:38Speaker 2: so a little close eleven to ten. Judge had two
- 0:41Speaker 2: home runs, so life could be worse.
- 0:46Speaker 1: I hate to ask, but what are you doing in Arkansas?
- 0:50Speaker 2: Speaking at Harding University? Are young Americans for Freedom and
- 0:55Speaker 2: great great conservative group, right thinking groups? So yeah, it's
- 1:00Speaker 2: nice to be in company of enlightened people.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Yeah. And Steve Forbes, by the way, one of the
- 1:05Speaker 1: great speakers in America. If you need somebody to make
- 1:08Speaker 1: a great speech for you, for whatever organization. But hey,
- 1:12Speaker 1: the blockade of the Straits of Hormuz is so brilliant.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Why didn't we think of that three weeks ago?
- 1:20Speaker 2: It should have been done at the beginning and things
- 1:26Speaker 2: thinking things through, They should have planned what would be
- 1:30Speaker 2: the reaction of China. Deal with that, reaction of Russia.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Deal with that. But if Iran was going to close
- 1:35Speaker 2: the straight, then they'll say, Okay, it's closed, everybody, and
- 1:40Speaker 2: if you want to get through, we'll let come through.
- 1:42Speaker 2: But we're going to control that. So better late than never,
- 1:46Speaker 2: And I hope there's going to be some consistency now.
- 1:50Speaker 2: And I'll be blunt, I think we're going to have
- 1:52Speaker 2: to resume hostilities before we get a resolution of this conflict.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Sadly, Yeah, you know what was leaking out from those negotiations.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I didn't really like that Iran wanted five years of
- 2:04Speaker 1: no nuclear activity. We wanted twenty years. Why would we
- 2:08Speaker 1: want twenty years? Why wouldn't we want permanent? Isn't this
- 2:10Speaker 1: just more kicking the camdown?
- 2:11Speaker 2: Permanent like two thousand years? Yeah, and regime change in between.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Get a government that had the aspirations of the people
- 2:20Speaker 2: in mind, not they're crazy, crazed, id murderous ideology. Yeah,
- 2:25Speaker 2: you're right, no five year, no twenty year thing. They
- 2:28Speaker 2: made those promises kind of promises before and they're not
- 2:32Speaker 2: even worth the paper they're written on.
- 2:35Speaker 1: But if we were to walk away with a deal,
- 2:37Speaker 1: like that, twenty years with a timeline. That's a very
- 2:41Speaker 1: Obama is sort of a Ran deal, isn't it.
- 2:44Speaker 2: It's embarrassing, Yes, it is Obama of two. John Kerry
- 2:48Speaker 2: would be in his mind vindicated. Worse though, it would
- 2:52Speaker 2: be seen mark as a victory for the extremists in Iran.
- 2:57Speaker 2: They faced all of this firepower from the United States
- 3:00Speaker 2: and from Israel. They survived and they didn't have to
- 3:03Speaker 2: give up the nuclear program. Everyone knows as soon as
- 3:06Speaker 2: the world's attention goes elsewhere, they're going to start doing
- 3:09Speaker 2: stuff they shouldn't do, and they're encouragible. They are dedicated revolutionaries.
- 3:16Speaker 2: They may be corrupt, but they are dedicated revolutionaries. So
- 3:20Speaker 2: doing letting that regime survive and having a timeline on
- 3:25Speaker 2: nuclear weapons is a victory for them. They've lost militarily,
- 3:30Speaker 2: but they're going to win politically, and we cannot let
- 3:32Speaker 2: that happen.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Well, things will change, things change very fast in this situation.
- 3:37Speaker 1: But again, that blockade is brilliant. It's even forcing some
- 3:41Speaker 1: other countries now to buy oil from US.
- 3:44Speaker 2: So well, we've got some oil coming from a place
- 3:47Speaker 2: called the Last they look Venezuela. It's coming on the
- 3:53Speaker 2: market now and they're being able to rev that up.
- 3:56Speaker 2: But I just think and the President has to keep
- 3:58Speaker 2: making clear and there's people have to keep making things clear.
- 4:02Speaker 2: This thing may take two weeks, two days, two months,
- 4:05Speaker 2: or whatever it takes. Given the danger that Iran posed
- 4:08Speaker 2: to our security, This is ultimately about our security. You
- 4:12Speaker 2: don't want a fanatical regime with missiles they were capable
- 4:15Speaker 2: of reaching the US, which they are making huge progress
- 4:18Speaker 2: on being able to make nuclear weapons very quickly. That
- 4:22Speaker 2: is an intolerable threat. And we know they'd use it
- 4:26Speaker 2: for blackmail, and we know they'd probably use it against
- 4:28Speaker 2: Israel and say, what are you going to do about it?
- 4:31Speaker 2: So we got to get that regime out. And the
- 4:35Speaker 2: sacrifices we make now are a fraction of what would
- 4:39Speaker 2: happen if that regime got nuclear weapons and the missiles
- 4:42Speaker 2: to reach the rest of the world.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Yeah, nasty forbes China, if they're secretly helping Iran or
- 4:47Speaker 1: working against us by aiding, or if we could figure
- 4:50Speaker 1: out then I'm sure President Trump ken at some point
- 4:52Speaker 1: figured something that would be beneficial to China. That would
- 4:56Speaker 1: end that, wouldn't it. They don't have any real loyalty
- 4:58Speaker 1: to Iran.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Do they, Hey, what.
- 5:01Speaker 1: If if we could, if the present cauld figure out
- 5:03Speaker 1: some way something really beneficial for China and all of this,
- 5:07Speaker 1: they would drop their secret support of Iran, wouldn't they.
- 5:11Speaker 2: I'm not so sure that China does. Is not. China's
- 5:16Speaker 2: out to will become the dominant power in the world.
- 5:19Speaker 2: And one of the things we've allowed to happen is
- 5:21Speaker 2: they're continuing to build these man made islands in the
- 5:24Speaker 2: critical South China Sea. They want to control that the
- 5:28Speaker 2: way the Ranians want to croach control the Straight of
- 5:31Speaker 2: hor Moves, and we have to make it very clear
- 5:34Speaker 2: that's not going to happen. And that's why, again it's
- 5:37Speaker 2: very important we're doing what we're doing in the straight
- 5:40Speaker 2: or Hormoves. No one's going to control that. Bad guys
- 5:43Speaker 2: are not going to control that freedom of the seas.
- 5:45Speaker 2: It's been a bedrock of American policy for over two
- 5:48Speaker 2: hundred and thirty years and that's going to continue. And
- 5:53Speaker 2: so in terms of China, I think we have to
- 5:56Speaker 2: make it clear we have there our interests and we're
- 5:59Speaker 2: going to defend those interest They're not going to become
- 6:01Speaker 2: a global dominant power and they're not going to take
- 6:03Speaker 2: over the South China Sea. And again people may say, oh,
- 6:08Speaker 2: that's a warlike, No, it isn't. They're the aggressors, not us.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Americans would like nothing better than a peaceful world. We
- 6:15Speaker 2: can go to powder doing our business, creating great things
- 6:18Speaker 2: moving ahead. But we've got bad guys in the world. Yeah.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Hey, Steve Forbes, the Moon mission the really inspiring. It's
- 6:28Speaker 1: fascinating to what is it really necessary right now? What
- 6:31Speaker 1: are the real benefits of us going back to the moon.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Well, in terms of the technological feed it's fantastic, as
- 6:39Speaker 2: we all know, people have never traveled as far as
- 6:42Speaker 2: those four astronauts did six hundred and ninety five thousand miles.
- 6:48Speaker 2: But unfortunately, the hell of war is coming to the heavens.
- 6:54Speaker 2: The weapons are being developed, the Chinese are doing it.
- 6:57Speaker 2: We're going to have to do it where they can
- 6:59Speaker 2: actually store weapons in space and aim them at the
- 7:02Speaker 2: United States, aim them at the specific targeting. This is
- 7:06Speaker 2: what's so frightening, only specifically targeting infrastructure projects, roads, electricity plants,
- 7:14Speaker 2: every sensitive thing from space. You don't even need nuclear
- 7:19Speaker 2: weapons to have a real disaster. So we have. It's
- 7:23Speaker 2: the new frontier. Sadly, of warfare, and so we have
- 7:26Speaker 2: to stay ahead of the Chinese on that. And it's sad,
- 7:30Speaker 2: but that's where we are. The heavens are going to
- 7:33Speaker 2: be a place of a warfare. Sadly, we got to
- 7:36Speaker 2: stay ahead of the Chinese.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Excellent point. Yeah, hey, you got a lot of too
- 7:41Speaker 1: far to the left sort of leaders from Momdani to
- 7:44Speaker 1: Virginia is a good example of the Spamburger And this
- 7:49Speaker 1: could affect the midterms of people getting a little dose
- 7:51Speaker 1: of real left wing leadership. And there's a.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Little bit of a yeah, the Republicans should hammer that
- 8:00Speaker 2: had a little bit of it in New Jersey. These people,
- 8:02Speaker 2: Donnie didn't run as a moderate, but those two, those
- 8:06Speaker 2: two governors Spenburger and Mikey Cheryl in New Jersey ran
- 8:11Speaker 2: a promise to ran as moderates, and as soon as
- 8:14Speaker 2: they get in they run far left. Spenburger in Virginia
- 8:18Speaker 2: thinks she's going to be the next vice president of
- 8:20Speaker 2: president of the United States, but you know, her numbers
- 8:23Speaker 2: are cratering. And in April twenty first, they have a
- 8:26Speaker 2: referendum for this crazy thing where they're going to obliterate
- 8:30Speaker 2: GOP representation in Congress. Right now, Virginia, six Democrats, five Republicans.
- 8:36Speaker 2: They've rejiggered it so it would be ten Democrats one Republican.
- 8:40Speaker 2: But they have to do it by referendum, and it
- 8:42Speaker 2: looks like giving her unpopularity, that referendum may go down
- 8:47Speaker 2: to defeat. And in terms of Mom Donnie, he announced
- 8:50Speaker 2: the other day a thirty million dollar grocery store next
- 8:54Speaker 2: year in East Harlem. Grocery store costs most in New
- 8:57Speaker 2: York are one million dollars to set up. Where's that
- 9:00Speaker 2: out of twenty nine million going? And another question for
- 9:04Speaker 2: this neo communist mayor when people come into his grocery
- 9:07Speaker 2: store and start stealing the food, is he going to
- 9:10Speaker 2: arrest them? Well, what's he going to do? When people
- 9:13Speaker 2: start taking that food? They're going to say it's free.
- 9:15Speaker 2: You know he's giving it away. What's he going to
- 9:18Speaker 2: do about it? That's going to be quite something to see.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Hey, the other thing said it'll be it won't be
- 9:23Speaker 1: till open till twenty twenty nine. You know, if you
- 9:26Speaker 1: went to our friend John Katsumatisa, could you build a
- 9:29Speaker 1: supermarket there? I guarantee you'd be there in three months,
- 9:31Speaker 1: not twenty twenty nine.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Sure, Sure, so everyone's you know, as you know, mont
- 9:36Speaker 2: Donnie's hiring all these people doing god knows what, but
- 9:39Speaker 2: being paid six figure salaries. So the waste is going
- 9:44Speaker 2: in high gear, going on steroids again. Grocery store he
- 9:48Speaker 2: could do for two hundred and fifty thousand million dollars.
- 9:51Speaker 2: And by the way, that grocery store that he's proposing
- 9:54Speaker 2: pays no rent, pays no taxes, and free land. And
- 9:59Speaker 2: they're going to lose a time of money. What's that
- 10:00Speaker 2: out of the twenty nine million going for That's what
- 10:03Speaker 2: I want to know.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Very good point. Well, Steve Forbes always great talking you everybody.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Get his latest book, Inflation. It's a wonderful book. You'll
- 10:10Speaker 1: really learn a lot from that book. Of course, read
- 10:13Speaker 1: Forbes every day and watching Steve Forbes all over television.
- 10:17Speaker 1: And we'll talk again soon.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Look forward to it. Mark.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Thanks, keep up the great work. Thanks take care. I
- 10:25Speaker 1: don't forget Buck and Clay coming up at noon today.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Excellent show every day from noon to three. Then you
- 10:30Speaker 1: got the most listened to radio show in America, Sean
- 10:34Speaker 1: Hannity's on every day three. Then you got Jesse Kelly
- 10:36Speaker 1: at six, and you know, we got a wonderful new
- 10:39Speaker 1: show every night at nine. It's really funny. It's a
- 10:41Speaker 1: great show. It's Jimmy Fayla every night at nine. On
- 10:44Speaker 1: seven to ten, wor
