- 8:09and he should know well bump Off, boots crack Up, who thinks they
- 8:11got a man in the amount of time when he saw it once? Doesn't
- 8:15much name much help, you know, Japan's say anything else. The word
- 8:20around town is that the Eastern Boys are trying to move in. Boots crack
- 8:24Off was one of the boys, and he could have moved in early,
- 8:26tried to take over for himself. And then again, do you think they're
- 8:31gonna set up headquarters and input again understands the reason un incorporated territory outside the
- 8:35city of limits. You've got no joystiction. Trouble is they don't open their
- 8:41handbooks and need policy wheels and the answered there around amount of time once we
- 8:45can do it again? Kind of cutting Yeah, Bill Luck on the Boots
- 8:52crack Off killing and not so far. Do you think it's just sending a
- 8:56job as only your marks? What do you think might ordered? Two possibilities
- 9:01alp and Chetty and Chicago duke back on a flight trail of five from the
- 9:09East Lands the airport at ten fifteen. Then make you better meet it,
- 9:13I said, get a teletype from Chicago. There's a passenger board and named
- 9:16Alfred Frank. I think it might be Franchetti right the opire come Chicago and
- 9:35now arriving up and coming up a bottom. I'll set Chicago and have someone
- 9:46the boyson or Lou Davis meaning I'm Chetty and Davis big mottle boys be there.
- 10:11He has been. Davis right to him, let me take you ride.
- 10:16He's okay, I'll punchhetting. I'm talking to me. I'm sorry,
- 10:31punshetting. He got the wrong man. That's con name was Frank. Out
- 10:35at him, Frank, that's walking over this way and talking about him.
- 10:37Look hell, maybe you didn't hear him. He said you got the wrong
- 10:41man hereim Davis. I don't get dumped down. People get in trouble after
- 10:43that, out Davis, I look out shut I sukay. Maybe he is
- 10:48gentlemen, I've got some authority for talking to us this way. This is
- 10:52a good mom. You've got a name and go along with a gun shot
- 10:56and kind of cut me. I've got to know you got him kind of
- 11:03yeah, lot tennant, mind telling me what this is all about. That
- 11:07let's talk about it inside. So it's kind of cold out. Eric always
- 11:13think it only important people way to the police escort at sentim. You don't
- 11:18be leading any parade, bunch any you got it? What cleasy think you
- 11:22have? R inside, David lit nothing on in the office by the new
- 11:31stand in coming, all right, but another that's more comfortable in them.
- 11:39You're gonna find it more comfortable out of town, punch any, although it's
- 11:43possible, deal of the club before I find out, though I just got
- 11:48here. You're loving again on the first plane out. That's some kind of
- 11:52a joke your tickets. You can't make me leave tiny that nothing on me.
- 12:00Vagrancy covers a lot of town, telling vagrants that you're pretty wideer than
- 12:05mirk d take a look at that. Well how much bun setting eight ten
- 12:16thousand courts of the twelve you well hear two, Davis, I'd be okay.
- 12:22Take him a ship the easy bad isue. There's a walk man and
- 12:28carry us around. Two got a permitter can of gundas they got want seeing
- 12:33in the wall at you're being pretty high handed about always ante d You know
- 12:41I got some influential friends in the state. Maybe they don't like the way
- 12:43You'll have all businesses here to Ben And it's the only permit you got,
- 12:50Davis. I'm gonta do I need for one gun more than this issue in
- 12:54Chicago. So luck get not worried about Lewis comin. And I've got gotten
- 12:58to the point. Huh, I've already made it a playing for Chicago leaves
- 13:03in five minutes. Than's your wallet? Why don't you mail it to minutes?
- 13:07I don't say that room five to eleven at the Statford Hotel here in
- 13:11town. Yeah, sure, mail me the wallet and the ten thousand bucks
- 13:16is in it. I thought it was closer to twelve. I'll be happy
- 13:20if I get ten back. I get out anything is there YouTube Davis?
- 13:26Yeah, I leave the gun, its EP me back, siventy five books.
- 13:31I leave it. It will cold kind of be reasonable. Why should
- 13:35we fly back to Chicago just like that? You can't make that funny vagrancy
- 13:39rat stick. It'll give us time enough to dig up something else. I
- 13:43like, what suspicion of homicide? You've got a hose? Yeah, head
- 13:46gobble No, but boost Crackoff has as the connection between Crackoff and me.
- 13:52You're a question. Like to answer it? You get in the b people
- 13:54like that. Others You'll spend a lot of time in the tank while we're
- 13:58trying o friend Shetty. We take the play a bed oh talk with Franchetty
- 14:22last week didn't take man come back in town, same thing, only we
- 14:28can't touch him. He's in Hanford. Who touched him? One of the
- 14:31boys used to handle a policy wheel for him, said, well, Davis
- 14:33told him still operating again, and I guess it's figure. So why don't
- 14:37do him? Then find out who killed Boots Krakoff. I'm trying for two
- 14:41weeks. Ben haven't got a lead, and that's the only way we'd get
- 14:43the friend shedding pretty long shit. Michaelson a pea Timmy General's office has got
- 14:48to help if friend Chelly hasn't got him on a peril. Not Michaelson.
- 14:52He's put a couple of minut in hand for maybe they can dig up something
- 14:56down maybe John Godrid, say, Lieutenant, this is thank Jeffy. I
- 15:03remember that was ing my Jeffy. Other guy from the sticks you wanted the
- 15:07operator who maybe no Boots Cracker. I think I got him spotted for you.
- 15:11Where's he? I like, I told you, I only seen him
- 15:13once, but the smoky shoe looked like her. Where's he? Jeffy?
- 15:16I want to get backed up for this, Lieutenant. I'm walking the slow
- 15:18road right now. You won't get any trouble. Jeffy. Just tell me
- 15:22where he is. Well, he's at the Poodle Barn, Stratford Hotel.
- 15:26I'm pretty talking with a guy named Rude Davis. The time October thirtieth,
- 15:43nineteen forty four, in the place a battlefield Nurse Saint Jacques, France,
- 15:46Live Infantry I had lost fifty five of its eighty eight men in an attack
- 15:50on a strongly entrenched company of cracked Mountain troops. Private Morman Ross took action
- 15:56to protect the remainder of vision there but his life miss gun, who moved
- 16:00to a forward position to absorb the first impact of a counter attack. As
- 16:06machine gun and small arms fire struck the ground the rounding Ross fired with deadly
- 16:10accuracy and turned back the assaulting force. Six more times the elite Mountain troops
- 16:15attacked Ross's position, and six times he repelled their assault. Now most of
- 16:21the supporting American rifle mem were out of ammunition. During an eighth assault,
- 16:25Ross carried on almost alone, turning back the enemy who had crawled within four
- 16:29yards of his position. When his last rounds were gone, Ross and the
- 16:33eight surviving rifle men were advised to pull back to the company command post,
- 16:37but more ammunition was expected, so they held a position to start. As
- 16:41the nine men stood with fixed bayonets against the final all out attack. Ammunition
- 16:45at last was brought to private Loss. He open fire at once, killing
- 16:49forty of the attackers and wounding ten more. The assault was broken. For
- 16:55his actions during the five hour battle, Wilman Ross received the Medal of Honor.
- 17:00The citation called his deeds an inspiration to his commrades in the high tradition
- 17:03of military service. Roban Boss who asked not what his country could do for
- 17:08him, but what he could do for his country. Sure, charging government.
- 17:33Davis show there was one the other day and Jennifer said he was from
- 17:37out of here. Don't like a college man and being a different type of
- 17:42wood these days. A lot of Davis call for his chip. We're taking
- 17:48about if they split with Davis. Can't talking about side of the table bays
- 17:52if you know the set of land, not that Davis, no move my
- 17:55help. He is getting up, really gets out. Okay, it's about
- 18:10somethings from that room. Yeah, I guess all why I'd like to talk
- 18:14to you. Who are you police officers? Oh that's all? Yeah,
- 18:19what do you want to talk to me about? Officer? We will tell
- 18:22you on my way downtown? Why not? He is better downtown. Okay,
- 18:25but let me buy a drink first, you know, thanks, Oh,

- 18:30wait, that's right, what is it? I will tell you on the
- 18:33way downtown. Okay, my car is bopping around the corner on Sedgewick Street.
- 18:41I will take cars. You're glad to run it down there? You'll
- 18:44take cars. I hate to leave my car there. Off, it's a
- 18:49two hour parking zone. I'm able to get a ticket over body, and
- 18:53sure I'm gonna take it in my life. Maybe I did get one down?
- 18:59Okay? Are you sure you were not having any drag it down?
- 19:03You say so? You ever hear of Bruce back Off, black Off,
- 19:15black Off? I did not read something in the paper about him a gangster
- 19:18or something? All you know all about him? Well, that's good.
- 19:22I know we're asking you. Is that what you want to talk to me
- 19:26about? But murderism? Gangster? That's right? Well, I don't read
- 19:29gangsterism. I don't any more than you, Tom said, but I'm sure
- 19:32I can't help you out there. You better change your mind before you get
- 19:36down town. Why's that unless you can clean it up first, we're booking
- 19:40you on suspicion on homicide. Serious, that's right, Come on, man,
- 20:00Yeah, there it is and we will see really. Wall Check thirty

- 32:08nineteen fifties, this was taken from an Armed Forces Radio Services re broadcast and
- 32:21these were most likely done in the nineteen sixties. They had the transcription disc
- 32:25around and played them, and I think you we heard one of those that
- 32:31was definitely from the sixties or perhaps even later on Johnny Dollar, where the
- 32:37Armed Forces Radio Services would continue to replay these because they had the transcription disc.

- 32:50knows exactly where this episode goes, at least according to the Digital Deli log.
- 32:53There are some other logs that will place it perhaps even towards the end
- 32:58of the series, but I'm going with what the Digital Deli has as the
- 33:01log information, and so I put this in here between a couple episodes just
- 33:10because it seemed to fit within that within that space, So we may find
