- 0:00[Music] welcome to multiple
- 0:03nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and
- 0:07Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All
- 0:13Things nerdy I have a correction to make to
- 0:18last week's podcast a correction from you let's hear it doesn't happen often
- 0:23but I was actually remember I was talking about how much in shock I was
- 0:26about Alan Wake and how much it was going to be mhm mhm I'm incorrectly said
- 0:31$40 and I was wondering why you weren't sort of wow about that I got it wrong
- 0:36it's actually $30 okay that's great like I mean to be honest I was pretty
- 0:40impressed with $40 I mean I've bought it already I feel if you've bought a game
- 0:43in the past you should just get it for free uh it depends with me depends if
- 0:49they've done anything with it true there are times where they do like a they just
- 0:53release the game again yeah yeah no I want they've done work on this so I
- 0:59think they've earned my $30 30 bucks that's great cuz it's a fantastic game
- 1:06and you were saying all original music back in this they've sorted out all the
- 1:09all the LIC they sorted that out ages ago cuz it went off sale from the Xbox
- 1:14360 stores because of Licensing and then they got it all sorted and it's been
- 1:18back on the 360 store for a while now is there still a designated 360 store yes
- 1:24oh wow the reason why there's a still 360 store is with the Xbox one and one
- 1:30series X they're bit interchangeable so it's all the same but 360 you can only
- 1:35still play 360 games yes that's right and I still go to that store every now
- 1:39and again well I love that there's certain amount of 360 games that still
- 1:43pop up on um Game Pass well that's the thing like the only time I have to go to
- 1:48the 360 store now is for games that aren't backwards compatible which there
- 1:52aren't many anymore and yeah you are seeing them on Game Pass and the store
- 1:57and everything else so I really regret
- 2:01or maybe now is the time to look into whether Kung Fu Chaos is playable again
- 2:07because that was one of the best games on the original Xbox and then as soon as
- 2:12the 360 came out it was like forget about it it probably is playable but
- 2:18it's couch Co-op I know back in the time well we used to have a lot of free time
- 2:24to actually be in the same room and just play games we can't even work out a time
- 2:28to play together we don't have to be in the same room yeah I know Matt even
- 2:32tried to get something happening this week that we shot down really quickly oh
- 2:35Matt's not here by the way oh yeah yeah Matt yeah you know in his holiday home
- 2:41yeah in his bare cabin but yeah he tried we shot that down very quickly because I
- 2:46was never going to play the game no and I tried to play we're talking about
- 2:49valheim by the way which is a very good game um except it ran like absolute [ __ ]
- 2:54so was never going to run on a Surface Pro all right fair enough not much run
- 2:59on that surface Pro it's the Surface Pro is designed for work Netflix didn't run
- 3:04very well on the Surface Pro let me let me put that out
- 3:08there yeah you you that's not what you needed I'm using my MacBook for 90% of
- 3:15my stuff now and it was only because it is a work Macbook so I was wary at first
- 3:19to use it and then they sent me to a seminar which laid out exactly what I
- 3:23was and wasn't allowed to use it for and I feel that all my daily use pretty much
- 3:27fits into that category a porn yeah that's pretty much the only thing that
- 3:32you can't do yeah porn and Espionage are the things they kindly asked you to
- 3:37avoid doing on your if you can yeah and you've tried your best you can with the
- 3:43Espionage but the porn that's right I'm trying to combine my love of porn and
- 3:47Espionage together but I still haven't come up with the uh the perfect solution for that
- 3:53yet so what has been happening we're actually recording at a weird time
- 3:57during the day we're all both of us are completely awake we're awake
- 4:03more yeah aw I'm quite awake because I
- 4:07slept last night from 7: to 10: then
- 4:11again from 2: till 6: and then again
- 4:15from 9 till about 1 so so how long to the
- 4:20baby doesn't have to be looked after every 3 how it depends who you ask if
- 4:26you ask Matt he's like oh [ __ ] three more weeks mate cuz he's for some reason
- 4:30got a very very well behaved child um I've been told by 6 months I should be
- 4:35perfectly safe okay but there's other problems by then too by then you you got
- 4:39to watch them constantly throughout the day and you can't put them down anywhere
- 4:43no no you you can't you have to watch them constantly now no I could put it
- 4:47down and walk away and know it'll still be the same place get anywhere yeah
- 4:50providing I've swaddled it substantially I know that's out loaded
- 4:55the roll pretty quickly so just make sure you've got it in a cage of some
- 4:58sort yeah today actually I was holding her this morning and she just full and
- 5:02lifted ahead to look at me which is the first time she's ever done that just
- 5:05like on her own lifted ahead no you're just using neck muscles alone
- 5:10and I was like oh wow okay it really doesn't take them long and then they
- 5:15slow down again yeah yeah there's like this really big you need to do
- 5:20everything for them and then they start getting up talking walking and then you
- 5:24still need to clean them up and yeah then for about another few more years
- 5:28but they can walk around tell you that they need to be cleaned up instead of
- 5:32just yelling at you yeah that's right me just having to preempt it yeah Y is this
- 5:36scream for [ __ ] or food yeah that's right end do I need to look at that's
- 5:40the lovely thing about a newborn is that there's really only a few things that
- 5:44can be wrong with it yeah when there's not it's when you're really scratching
- 5:47your head you like not yeah yeah which I've got to get a little tube and suck
- 5:52it out of your nose yep like I'm your [ __ ]
- 5:56slave you are that child slave for for the next I don't know I don't know they
- 6:01say 18 years but it's really not 18 years you going to pay for it for a lot
- 6:06longer these days that's true but i' stopped listening to what my parents
- 6:09were telling me from a lot earlier than 18 yeah but you still expected money
- 6:14that is true and like housing food food every day yeah that's true entertainment
- 6:20clothing yeah just just don't talk to me though stay out of my
- 6:25room yeah I'm wondering how long it'll take before the stay out of my room sign
- 6:29and my sister she's got kids that are like six and nine or something around that age and
- 6:35um uh her daughter has a don't come in my room sign on her door now so that's
- 6:41more directed at you you can't make that
- 6:48joke that didn't come across the way I me all kids have that sign on their door
- 6:54for you Dan I never had that sign of my room I don't think I did either no but I do
- 7:01know that is a bit of a staple with kids like stay out and yeah oh no to be fair
- 7:06come to think of it I didn't want my siblings in my room I didn't care if my
- 7:09parents came in but I but mostly because I didn't want to talk to my siblings cuz
- 7:12I was so much younger than me and I just found them annoying my sister was the
- 7:15same age pretty much and I found her annoying I don't think that's an age
- 7:19thing yeah that's true I was happy for your sister to come in my room Zing
- 7:24sorry you right into that
- 7:28one she as well oh
- 7:32god um yours is a bit more appropriate well not appropriate but yeah I mean
- 7:37it's less let's let's move off both these topics shall we so I finished a
- 7:44game this week that evidently is getting review bombed for a reason and I was a
- 7:49bit confused by it okay so this is a game that I am probably going to play
- 7:53because I've played the subsequent games at least some of them I I think I'm
- 7:57still quite a bit behind in terms of where I'm up to
- 8:00but we're talking about life is strange which is a wonderful little I've always
- 8:05I've Loved all the life is strange games and they re-releasing them again for the
- 8:08series X at the end of the month looking forward to playing through I might wait
- 8:13then and play through from the start for the listeners who don't know do you want
- 8:15to just give a little bit of a rundown of of what they could expect life is
- 8:18strange the first one you play an angsty teenage girl who finds out she's got the
- 8:24power to control time MH so sort of just go backwards and forwards not a long way
- 8:31and stuff happens in her town and she helps investigate and find out what's
- 8:35going on mhm and it's very lowkey you're kind of just wandering around it's it's
- 8:39like a point and click really yeah like there's there's no rush to get it done
- 8:44there's there's there's some thought involved with it with some of the
- 8:47puzzles but not a lot but the tone is very profound it's it's just a lovely
- 8:52game to play the second one I wasn't a
- 8:55super fan of mhm the second one was uh 's now an Angy teenage
- 9:02boy just doesn't relate yeah as the listeners know you're a you're a video game
- 9:08transexual no but what happened with this with the second one you it was your
- 9:12younger brother that had the powers and your father gets killed at the start of
- 9:17the game and you go on the run with your younger brother because they think you
- 9:21did it this whole thing could have been avoided with just staying where you are
- 9:25and explaining what happened yeah that's right yeah telling the police the truth
- 9:30yeah like honestly that went on a bit long then he meets up with his mother
- 9:36and it's a little bit too high fantasy because if you're a little if you're a
- 9:39teenage boy with time travel Powers then you just use that power to reverse time
- 9:45to just before you ejaculated and then ejaculate again and then just keep he do
- 9:49have the power to move time now that's the thing all the powers have always
- 9:53been different M mhm so in the second one the power was you could sort of move
- 9:57things okay with your mind yeah true colors is the most recent one that come
- 10:02out and when they started talking about this I thought this sounds stupid she
- 10:07has the power of empathy what kind of power she just a
- 10:12very nice person no what it is is when people when you start playing it it
- 10:18becomes a bit clearer when people are having a strong emotion either way like
- 10:21whether it's angry or sad or she can sense that get a reading on them and if
- 10:27people go too far as in the very first episode Take On The Rage of someone that
- 10:32is beating up her brother and they completely beat the [ __ ] out of him
- 10:36wow and yeah she she really loses it and it's about her sort of you sort of touch
- 10:41on her past and her growing up in sort of foster homes and stuff that's a
- 10:45frustrating Powers I have and then it's her about sort of learning to deal with
- 10:49it and then also investigating the only thing I didn't
- 10:53like about is The Game's everything's just too perfect in this world yeah like
- 10:58you just rock up and town after being in foster homes and everyone loves you and
- 11:01everyone's really nice and it's just too perfect I felt that was kind
- 11:07of the point of the earlier games too with that you're still an angsty teen
- 11:12but you're an angsty teen in a world where it's okay to be an angsty teen
- 11:15yeah you know it's a bit of wish fulfillment on the part of the devs I
- 11:19think who might have had some troubles growing up at that time in the next one
- 11:23maybe do the Angy teen stuff but actually understand that the world's not perfect yeah
- 11:30consequences yeah well the Reon being review bombed it's not because of the
- 11:36game it's because of a a flag that was
- 11:41in the game okay a Nazi flag is it no
- 11:46it's just the Tibetan flag oh okay so let me guess it's China it's China
- 11:51That's review bombing uh review bombing it but it wasn't like it was a major
- 11:55part of the game or anything it was just I don't even I don't even remember
- 12:00seeing it oh they would have noticed they they would have
- 12:04noticed really but it's not like I mean it was out of context right it's not
- 12:08like there was a big sign above it that says definitely not part of China the
- 12:12way I see because I haven't gone back to have a look it's just the flag in the
- 12:17window of a shop or something yeah but according to the Chinese the the fact
- 12:21that there is a Tibetan flag and not just would the Chinese flag yeah it
- 12:25would be supporting Tibet and being separate from China like it's in America
- 12:30they got that flag they're against us yeah that's right which was really I
- 12:35thought they'd be trying to R bomb it for sort of the fact that my character
- 12:39Alex you can decide whether you're straight or gay or
- 12:44between my character was gay you you you are not only are you a video game
- 12:49transexual you a video game lesbian as well yes I'm a lesbian in real life yeah
- 12:54yeah elizan trapped in a man's body yeah I just find it strange that they go for
- 12:59the review B well they might be review buming both yeah maybe I I guess think
- 13:04it's a lot of people who haven't played the game because honestly like the flag
- 13:09would have to be just something small in a shop window it's not like you would be
- 13:12playing a game that plays a major part or there's a free type bet to protest in
- 13:17the middle of the game and as I always say like you could reasonably assume
- 13:21that only the character who put that flag up is pro Tibet and everyone else
- 13:26in the game [ __ ] hates them you know what I mean like just could I always say
- 13:30this when people say a certain book or film is racist because there's a racist
- 13:33character and it's like no no no you can write a racist character without your
- 13:37book being racist yes you know especially if they're the bad guy yeah
- 13:42if they're the hero yeah then maybe you might have a bit but even then not so
- 13:46much like American History X the main character is a racist and the whole
- 13:49point um what's that the New Zealand movie it's the same the one that came
- 13:53out last year with the little boy Warriors no no no the um the comedy with
- 13:58the little little boy who's a Hitler supporter like oh yes uh JoJo rabbit
- 14:04yeah that's right main character is a racist but the point of the movie is
- 14:08that racism is bad and just because there's a racist in there doesn't mean
- 14:12your film is racist with stuff like that like yes you could have the hero be be
- 14:16that racist but they need to learn yeah yeah like that that needs to be part of
- 14:21the story say you have a racist character they the hero that life is
- 14:26strange would be all right if directly after the Tibetan flag in the window
- 14:30that shopkeeper was dragged out by the Chinese secret police and beaten in the
- 14:34streets no I don't think they want that either I think they want American police
- 14:39to drag them out and beat them sure cuz it's not China get involved with no
- 14:43that's true and in fact the chinaese I mean Hong Kong you can have that
- 14:48argument whether Hong Kong's part of China or not but Hong Kong have the
- 14:51biggest film industry in Collective China um but often have to make
- 14:56alternative endings for Mainland release um the very famous one is infernal
- 15:02Affairs which is what the Departed was a remake of um which is about cops
- 15:07backstabbing other cops and uh if you watch it in mainland China in the end
- 15:12they're like guys you know what we've been doing this all wrong we should
- 15:15really just support the the system here and uh confess that we've
- 15:20been yeah so the only yeah they just come clean and yeah they they just turn
- 15:25themselves in yeah yeah as most that's the right thing to do yeah yeah
- 15:32yeah so review bombing I mean what does review bombing do I I've never quite
- 15:36understood the effect that this has so I've never understood especially because
- 15:41I think on Steam they now just if you don't own the game it doesn't have any
- 15:47effect on the mostly positive or mostly negative so I don't think it actually
- 15:51leads and then they switch it off anyway yeah yeah but you see it all the time at
- 15:56the moment there's the new God of War mhm being review bombed is it cuz there
- 16:02just a trailer for it oh I think one of the things I've seen I haven't looked
- 16:07into it too much cuz it's a Playstation only game but there've there's video of
- 16:12him getting into a canoe or something and theyve pointed out that's the same
- 16:17way he did it in the last game so you're just reusing assets it's like that
- 16:21that's what games do yeah this is a sequel to the same game sequel but it's
- 16:26a spin-off yeah instead of us sort of spending the next I don't know 3 months
- 16:31working on how he gets in the canoe how about we just use how he got in last
- 16:35time because how many different way got get in a canoe let's not waste time
- 16:40we've got the we've got the funny way where he tries to get it and he falls
- 16:43out and like what do you want like I don't know that to me just means that
- 16:48you get the game earlier watch any Disney movie and anytime you see a
- 16:53character dancing it's the same Dance Beauty dancing with Beast is the exact
- 16:58same [ __ ] wireframe as Cinderella dancing with Prince Charming I think
- 17:03that may change now maybe I reckon it I when was the last time you really
- 17:08watched one though I haven't watched one cuz I don't remember the big ball
- 17:12ballroom scene in what was the last Disney movie I saw what was the last Disney movie you
- 17:18saw um probably black widow okay I really mean the animated
- 17:25movies is what I'm talking about I actually have no idea what the last
- 17:28Disney what I would have seen would be did you see Coco No oh that was
- 17:32excellent was there a ballroom scene in it though no then I'm guessing they
- 17:36didn't use the save dead suit fair enough um but that's what you do it
- 17:41saves money in time hey speaking of speaking of computer generated films
- 17:47it's a tenuous link but I just I don't have much to say about it but it came
- 17:51out soury Weaver came out and said she's seen bits of the new
- 17:56Avatar and when asked if it was good her response was well there's a lot of it set
- 18:03underwater so not only do I not give a [ __ ] that James James Avatar James
- 18:09Cameron is making more Avatar films but I also don't give a [ __ ] that he's
- 18:13making another underwater film I think it's more of he's just
- 18:18trying to make it he's he's he's got he got all the money and everyone signed
- 18:22off and then he's going to start filming he's gone we've already seen most of the
- 18:26planet yeah um oh no what we do underwater I haven't seen that true
- 18:31we've been in the sky and we've been on the ground what else is
- 18:34there well even remember any original movie he goes off to see all the other
- 18:38clans he does yeah they really milk it didn't they see the planet already oh
- 18:44man and now there's a special underwater race of avatars or nari isn't it nari uh I don't
- 18:51know I tried to watch it a second time and was so bored and I hate 3D but this
- 18:57movie not in 3D is boring oh I I went through it a few times at the movies
- 19:03just not for the movie for the 3D like it was 3D done well yes yes possibly the
- 19:08only time that has been the case yeah because after that they tried to bring
- 19:13everything out in 3D and none of the other movies were made for 3D like with
- 19:19that like even when they're just walking around the forest and you see like the
- 19:21bits of just air with dust particles
- 19:25pretty much you see that that's that was my favorite was when even when they were
- 19:30in the offices and they're just panning past those kind of perspects monitors
- 19:36just that the depth that they created is just something they've never been able
- 19:39to do in any other 3D film like the only time I've actually liked was when we
- 19:42went saw Guardians of the Galaxy and it was in that 40 like with the chairs and
- 19:47the spray like that still needs some work yeah but that was fun to be honest
- 19:51the actual 3D the stereoscopic image was the least memorable thing about that
- 19:57experience the chairs move yeah the chair moving was [ __ ] rad
- 20:01cuz it wasn't just a oh it's going to shake down we're going to follow the
- 20:04ship yeah like this it wasn't just always I'm not sure the chair stopped
- 20:08moving the entire time because at the end of the film when the lights came up
- 20:12and I was still I felt very still but yeah I don't think it was I think it's
- 20:18just because that's how good they see in together cuz I believe this is years ago
- 20:23they wouldn't do like the 4D or whatever version of it for like a few weeks after
- 20:28the movie came out so they could sink all that stuff up
- 20:32and when was that that was when we were in America York 2016 five years ago
- 20:38since since New York wow and that's probably oh no I saw solo
- 20:43last time I was in LA as well have you been in La you've been in
- 20:48America since our New York trip uh yes cuz I went for E3 few years ago oh you
- 20:55did too that you did too where you had your conversation with um Kevin Smith
- 20:59on Hollywood Babylon yes he lied to him
- 21:03about feing koalas he [ __ ] ate it up though he his life is enriched believing
- 21:10that fing yeah got this koala that mean we're buddies
- 21:16yeah that's great very quickly some followup from uh from last week uh we
- 21:23did talk about a lord of the ring 31 dis box set um and we kind of all mused who
- 21:30who would want a 31 disc boxed set um
- 21:33only people with $1,500 is the answer what there's not a what else does
- 21:40it come with I I'll tell you what it comes with and it comes with quite a lot
- 21:43to be honest but still there's not a lot of films I love and I there's some films
- 21:47I [ __ ] love but there's not a lot of films I would spend 1,500 bucks on a
- 21:54special edition so this comes with a 100 page sketch Style book replica the Red
- 22:00Book of West Mar the original film sketch's new artwork something reprinted
- 22:05that will cost less than [ __ ] book yeah yeah no I like books as well but
- 22:09you know yeah but um original reproductions of watercolor paintings by
- 22:13a claim conceptual artist okay again print a poster yeah and I like art as
- 22:18well but still okay all discs housed in six stunning throw leather books and
- 22:24collectible Hobbit style wood shelf okay you get a little shelf shelf you get a
- 22:28little shelf but this is not $11,000 worth of wood no and it's it's not real
- 22:34leather no no okay so it looks like there's a little bookshelf with some
- 22:39nice leather bound books on it but actually the leather bound books are dis
- 22:44holders and one of them's a book that's 1,500
- 22:51bucks no no thanks no no pass oh hold on
- 22:57but evidently there's a cheaper one oh okay how how much is the cheap that's
- 23:01like the collector's edition okay all right so this is the fancy one but
- 23:05there's still a the regular uh no it's still
- 23:11250 okay okay 250 and that's us so that's probably $400 Australian yeah but
- 23:16that's just the discs [ __ ] hell so they are really charging for the book
- 23:23the bookshelf and the cases they're charging $1,300 that is a lot of [ __ ] money for a
- 23:30bookshelf people give me a th000 bucks I'll build you that bookshelf yeah yeah
- 23:36yeah m i I'll make it pretty much look exactly like that cuz this is not a
- 23:39sophisticated looking bookshelf NE I Reon I could do this yeah I mean there's
- 23:43a little bit of ornateness on the side but I re you're not getting that part
- 23:47yeah yeah it's a th000 bucks Australian yeah that's right not us yeah so it's
- 23:51about 700 bucks us and you can get an approximation of this particular case
- 23:56you get Luke version of it it might look like something you can get at
- 24:00Ikea it might it might not it might look at off cuts that I've got from stuff
- 24:06I've purchased from Ikea in the past that I'm trying to get rid of yeah you
- 24:10shouldn't have off Cuts Luke from Ikea things pretty sure you meant to use
- 24:14every piece ah sometimes it's just you just don't want that extra shelf or that
- 24:19extra bit you just knock it out done that on computer desks where had
- 24:23remember old built-in like bookshelves and computer desk and you just got just
- 24:27knock that part right there's always one shelf for you're like why is this here
- 24:31why I don't need that bit so yeah but yeah it's 1,000 blocks do you remember
- 24:35when every computer Des had a little slide out tray that your keyboard went
- 24:39on who ever used that [ __ ] hated that because how would you have to sit to far
- 24:45enough back that you needed
- 24:48to extend extrude your desk did you also
- 24:53used to have uh the the the the keyboard condom
- 24:59that's the only way I know I used I didn't have it but I know what you're
- 25:03talking about my parents had it and I never understood it because that thing
- 25:08was filthy and S of like it could get rid of that and it could still be filthy
- 25:14dead skin and F nails and dust yeah that's right cuz it'll be under the keys
- 25:20now all you've done is you've kept everything top yeah and now I'm just
- 25:24touching it yes and you can get that little suction thing that sucks that
- 25:28[ __ ] out of your keyboard if you really care but yeah I that people made a
- 25:33fortune off that that plastic keyboard thing that goes over the top that yeah
- 25:38made your keyboard even less sanitary yeah yeah I mean keyboards used
- 25:44to be deep they're not as deep unless you like the oldy keyboards I do I've
- 25:49got my mechanical one up there yeah I'm sure you do yeah I've thought about
- 25:52having one except that I use my laptop keyboard as the keyboard CU otherwise
- 25:58well why would you get a keyboard to put on top of a keyboard that's just stupid
- 26:01exactly which is why I don't I'd like a fancy keyboard but we need a fancy
- 26:06computer yeah but then I can't would you like a fancy computer I can't sit in bed
- 26:10with my fancy are you offering me a fancy computer I might have a fancy
- 26:13computer so does this mean you have finally migrated over to your new
- 26:17computer no that one's sitting over there still my
- 26:21God I so want to be that with your free time I get caught up playing games like
- 26:27life strange True Colors imagine how well these games will play I mean I know
- 26:32you're playing play on the Xbox I'm just using the computer to watch television
- 26:37yeah mhm and the football is it football season it's just
- 26:43about over South Sydney has either one or two more games in the year okay we
- 26:50find out next week I have completely ignored the NRL this this season
- 26:55completely ignor it's been great I when I was living overseas I felt so
- 27:00nostalgic for Australian football and now that I'm home I mean I've got other
- 27:04[ __ ] I've had other [ __ ] going on this year yeah baby gets in the way Stu yeah
- 27:09if they put the football on at between midnight and 2: a.m. that' be great I'd
- 27:15watch that in fact I should be watching some American Sports is probably if you
- 27:18get KO oh yeah you can just play it whenever you want yeah right okay yeah
- 27:23of course so you just put the football on at midnight yeah yeah yeah except I
- 27:27could have looked up the schore by then so but yeah you have to not do that
- 27:32that's the hard part mhm but it's also sometimes you see the score and you go
- 27:37oh I definitely want to watch that yeah yeah yeah and other times you go there's
- 27:41no point in me watching those those are the best games where you already know
- 27:44the score and you're still like how is that possible I've got to watch this
- 27:47game yep there's a game that you've been playing that I've been wanting to play
- 27:51for a while and I want to know well I assume it's not Wolfenstein New Order
- 27:55which I've been playing a little bit Yeah so I've been playing two G in
- 27:58Tangent because sometimes I'm wide awake and I want something to really think
- 28:01about and sometimes I just yeah that's right so my just
- 28:06shooting game is Wolfenstein New Order which is great it's not new it's 5 years
- 28:09old 2016 but uh it's excellent um I'll just quick review for anyone who doesn't
- 28:16know the Nazis won the war it's said in the' 60s it sounding very man in the
- 28:21High Castle and I guess it is um in terms of I think that's where they got
- 28:25the idea from in terms of high concept you still play um
- 28:28[ __ ] BJ burwitz or whatever his name is from the original
- 28:341993 Wolfenstein um and I love all the little Throwbacks the weapons are the
- 28:40same there's still the shotgun the chain gun the you know like but just all
- 28:44updated a little bit there still there there's still secret passages behind
- 28:49paintings and there's jewels in there that you can collect love it love it but
- 28:52the story is really in depth and I [ __ ] somebody the other night and I
- 28:56was like I was not expecting a sex scene in this there were no sex scenes in the
- 29:01original Wolfenstein would you like a little spoiler yes you knocked her up
- 29:06hey all right okay twins okay nice they come out in well
- 29:11they don't come out they're in the last game which is very very different in
- 29:16tone in what way um the last game is you
- 29:21don't you playing the daughters oh really and it's a co-op game so you can
- 29:26revive the other one and you to level up
- 29:29your skills and literal Co-op yeah oh let's [ __ ] play that let you know
- 29:36what I'm no no no good no no damn no it's yeah I I've played through it twice
- 29:41well got to the end twice did you play though no maybe that's the
- 29:47key I don't think that's it yeah fair you have superpowers and you can go
- 29:52invisible see I'm already annoyed that there's a certain amount of
- 29:57like highness yes exactly I want to
- 30:00shoot Nazis not robot Nazi dogs it is funny when the robot dog
- 30:07robot robot Nazi dog jumps on top of you you get to stab it though like when he
- 30:11stabbing in the head I know it is brutal and I violent I don't want to kill
- 30:16animals at any point even vicious ones that are attacking me I'm sorry I'm
- 30:20killing a Nazi robot attacking me we're attributing these Nazi traits to it
- 30:25because the Nazis have put the [ __ ] robot on it but for all I know this dog is usually a
- 30:32pacifist the dog's coming at me it's gone now no I know I just I don't like
- 30:37it I don't like it but the other one I own this game twice okay no I'm
- 30:42I'm talking about the sinking City game you play cuz I own this game twice cuz
- 30:47there's achievements for Xbox series X and Xbox One they re-released it
- 30:52actually I'm not sure if that's might be one of these weird ones
- 30:56cuz the publisher the developable for this got into a bit of a fight with a
- 31:01lot of their Publishers is that right for what reason um just with I think
- 31:07what happened with frogwares it happened with uh the Sherlock Holmes games yeah
- 31:13um they they got into a fight with their publisher because the publisher wouldn't
- 31:17give them keys or logins or something after the publishing deal ended right
- 31:22and they ended up re-releasing the Sherlock Holm games like Sherlock Holmes
- 31:25Redux so they could start making money off it again while the other one went off the store
- 31:31like and they now they've now gone on to frogware is now just develops and
- 31:37publishes their own stuff because they've had a few issues and I think
- 31:40this one might be a bit the same why they've got the two versions yeah but I
- 31:44own it twice okay I haven't played it at all so I did I buy
- 31:51this it'll work on both yeah cuz I was going to say I'm fairly certain I bought
- 31:55this when it was when I just had the previous so it'll still work on both
- 31:59yeah you know I well I have been playing it on my series X but yep so there's not
- 32:04I don't think there a series X version okay right it's just I think there's
- 32:07another version of it yes I see okay uh good so I'm not missing out look this is
- 32:11a very enjoyable game I wouldn't necessarily call this a good game
- 32:18mhm it's clunky the the combat is
- 32:22incredibly unsatisfying right which is the case with a lot of RPG you know what
- 32:28I mean combat is is a second priority to the to the story
- 32:34story I I enjoy the way that so you're a detective you're a private detective
- 32:41you're you're you've landed in this city which is a love crafty it is sinking
- 32:46well it's flooding I don't know that it's necessarily sinking but half of
- 32:49it's underwater you can walk some get spoiler it's sinking just a feeling yeah
- 32:54maybe maybe I think it's a metaphor oh I
- 32:58do them but um the way that this works
- 33:03this holds your hand absolutely 0% right so there's I mean there's different
- 33:08difficulty levels and you can put you can put the easiest difficulty level
- 33:11which tells you when there's Clues around and stuff but if you're playing it even just on
- 33:16normal um it doesn't tell you when there's Clues and it doesn't tell you
- 33:20what the clues mean and you've got to do that yourself and you could get it wrong
- 33:25and still continue down that track so what it is if you find a bunch of Clues
- 33:30you've got to then go into your thought chamber and Link the C the clues and
- 33:35then make assumptions about that and then you can progress in the game based
- 33:40on those assumptions which may be right or wrong and you'll never know because
- 33:43you'll just get a different outcome it's exactly the same as the Sherlock Holmes
- 33:47games oh really okay you there's multiple sort of different endings you
- 33:51get to each of the cases doesn't matter if you get them right or wrong progress
- 33:55you wouldn't know if you got it wrong really I could Dem this man to death had
- 33:59nothing to do with it yeah so I only realized that was the case in this when
- 34:02the very very first mission you're trying to find the the killer of this
- 34:05man's son and I I went and did a bit of an uh investigation to be honest cuz I
- 34:11was first playing I didn't do it as in depth as I'm now doing everything very
- 34:15very in depth but I kind of just did a surface in investigation I was like yeah
- 34:19he's guilty went back and told the guy and he's like right well I'm going to
- 34:22[ __ ] shoot him in the head and he was killed and uh and then I went online and
- 34:27I was like is that always happen no no no it doesn't it doesn't actually if you
- 34:30look a little bit deeper you can find out that um there do like a little bit
- 34:33of police work yeah which when I realize that you have to pretty much you have to
- 34:38look at 100% of the clues before you uh make just condemn a man that's right so
- 34:44the way I'm going to eventually play this game should have a walk through
- 34:48yeah yeah to could except that you'd have to have a walk through for one
- 34:53specific playthrough but then I guess there's always that proper playthrough right
- 34:58yeah so what I've actually started doing with games is I've started to not worry
- 35:02about the achievements as much oh really and not play through with a a guide or
- 35:08anything and I'm just like I'm going to play through this start the finish and
- 35:11then I'll worry about mopping up the it's very easy with the full motion
- 35:15video games mopping up cuz a lot of those games have been
- 35:20coming out recently they're a bit easier cuz you play through you get your ending
- 35:25you go yep that's the story I would have gotten and then go through and then you
- 35:28can skip like Siege of seene and just go through and get the other ending when
- 35:32you say for motion video games you mean games like that the ones where you got
- 35:36to interview people and [ __ ] what am I talking about oh are you talking about
- 35:40the shape-shifting detective is that what I'm talking about maybe is that
- 35:44what you're talking about that what a game that I have played that is like
- 35:48that oh that was terrible hold on I'll tell you what exact like Talk Amongst
- 35:52yourself while I open while I open Steam there's a few there's something with the
- 35:57word
- 36:07[Music]
- 36:58yeah like the telling lies one it's got real actors yeah telling lies has great
- 37:03actors there's one uh po Maro something that that's just like a student project
- 37:10like the acting is that bad yeah I I still always think about Night Trap when
- 37:16I think about these type of games I so wish I had have finished making that on
- 37:20the Xbox I know right I could play it on
- 37:24the PlayStation but not the Xbox yeah right
- 37:31right up until the day it was coming out they said yep it's coming and then
- 37:35they've said nothing since I don't know if there's a whole
- 37:39lot of people asking for this me there's yeah there's about a hundred guys
- 37:43exactly our age who were like wasn't there a full motion video game back in
- 37:47the 90s where you just were perving on a bunch of chicks having a sleepover and
- 37:51then the game yeah cuz yeah the game isn't about the chicks
- 37:58but do you know the vampire originally the game was much more gory there were
- 38:01vampires but then whoever until Hasbro got involved yeah Hasbro were like no
- 38:05you can't you can't have replicatable violence no so yeah you got to make him
- 38:10kooky and just garbage absolutely garbage but it's Stars the lead girl is
- 38:16the girl from Different Strokes the sister from Different Strokes who ended
- 38:20up I think in prison and then killing herself very sad she had have she didn't
- 38:26have a great time after Different Strokes Welcome to our comedy podcast but she's
- 38:30in it and she's I don't understand it's on the Nintendo switch is
- 38:36it fun on the switch imagine sitting on the train looking over and someone's
- 38:40playing [ __ ] night trap on the
- 38:45switch I want to read no I'll read about it later they built a set for Night Trap
- 38:50right and the doors didn't reach the floor so if you playing Night Trap look
- 38:55at them when they go from room to room there's like that there's like 6 in of
- 39:00wall under each door that they have to step over it's very clearly not a real
- 39:06house well yeah because how did they get these traps where it's like the floor
- 39:11opens up like y that NS just got this crap installed the game wasn't meant to
- 39:18make sense no well actually I think originally it was but that the the
- 39:21barriers that were put up they were like [ __ ] it just whatever it's whatever it
- 39:25is nearly got all games canceled ever well it got banned completely here in Australia I
- 39:31believe um well this was also the big one that was went to Congress and
- 39:36everything in America with the like this is game's terrible look what's doing for
- 39:40all the people coming out and speaking out against it who never played it oh
- 39:43yeah no one cuz no one played it they would have been better off picking a game anyone
- 39:49played but no cuz you can't spin it yeah yeah you can spin it if you can say this
- 39:55is what's in it but these vampires suck your soul out of your
- 39:59brain they yeah they weren't actually vampires at the end yeah they and in
- 40:03fact I don't even think they use the word vampires anymore no but um I think
- 40:07that's why they got off by saying there's no way a child could play this
- 40:11and then replicate this type of violence in the real world well I think it was
- 40:15also it was the the people thinking about it was just like naked women
- 40:19running around as well which wasn't there we like to think it was but it no
- 40:24it really wasn't this is very unsexy and it's it's slow as all [ __ ] as
- 40:30well oh one day I will get to play this game yeah
- 40:34yeah um so sink City I do recommend look
- 40:38it's open world but nothing is playable so you will walk past hundreds of people
- 40:44that you can't speak to and hundreds of doors you can't go in you can only go
- 40:49indoors that are the doors you're meant to go in so it it feels if it's built
- 40:55with a with an open world engine but it is completely on Rails what I think this
- 40:59is is this is them building up to their next game M mhm so they've done a few of
- 41:04the Sherlock holes games and then they've done a few games like this as
- 41:08well and then next game coming out I think it's later this year is a new
- 41:11Sherlock Holmes game that's sort of completely original okay so new story
- 41:16it's you playing like a younger Sherlock Holmes and I think it's a bit more open
- 41:20world so yeah right okay and it's episode one comes out I think they're
- 41:23doing episodic thing okay okay I don't mind episodic yeah it's like life is
- 41:28strange mhm well the good thing about life strange this time is all came out
- 41:32in one go but I still played it over I got annoyed when Hitman decided to go
- 41:37um episodic to be honest with you mostly cuz I couldn't keep up with what id
- 41:41played and what I hadn't played but yeah did you actually play did you actually
- 41:45even finish episode one man I yeah I did and i' I've played all the Hitman games
- 41:49I [ __ ] love Hitman Hitman is the game check
- 41:53this what did you did you play it on Xbox
- 41:58yeah you want to check I did I [ __ ] finished it I check I'm checking I'm I'm
- 42:03sure I did so the new Hitman the new wait from what year are we talking three
- 42:10years ago three years ago yeah yeah yeah episode one
- 42:15Yes actually got to look at you well you talk I'll I'll look you up and we'll get
- 42:20to the bottom of it this fighting words man well cuz if you played so much of it
- 42:26you would have got a chiie sink and not necessarily sink and city um is is
- 42:32Lovecraft which I love and the world is beautiful and the characters are
- 42:36excellent and they Ste but they also they steal a lot um from the Lovecraft
- 42:42methos but then just reuse it so I was walking down the street and I saw this
- 42:46doctor's office that said Herbert West MD and if you know the Lovecraft stories
- 42:52you know that's Herbert West Herbert West reanimator right and you're like oh
- 42:55it's reanimator it's Herbert West yeah that's great every [ __ ] Street has a
- 42:59doctor's clinic on it and it's always Herbert West MD so it's like this is
- 43:06almost like this game should have cost 10 times as much but they didn't have
- 43:10the budget for it but instead of just scaling it down they just kept it the
- 43:13size they wanted but then just didn't make it as complicated as I I I have an
- 43:18apology to make oh do you now um I just
- 43:23looked at uh Hitman and it's uh got the hours played mhm yeah so I've played it
- 43:30for 32 minutes yep and you've played it for 24 hours yes thank you I do have to
- 43:36call you out on one thing though okay didn't finish it no no no well not that
- 43:42you didn't finish it but there's an achievement I think you should have
- 43:45gotten if you were so good at hit there no hold on I didn't say I was good at it
- 43:49I said I enjoyed playing it unseen assassin assassinate a Target without
- 43:55getting spotted how do you not have that getting spotted [ __ ] once man come
- 44:01on no just say one target without being to be to be fair the first the first
- 44:07episode is only like four missions right
- 44:09yeah one you 24 hours and couldn't kill
- 44:15one person without someone spotting you that's like the only achievement I have
- 44:20the um the older versions are very good at that the these these new ones are
- 44:26difficult they're more difficult than the older ones cuz I remember some of
- 44:28the older ones like you just walked in dressed as a chef poisoned the food and
- 44:32walked out this this does not have that these are [ __ ] and there's multiple
- 44:38targets per mission in this one too yes and you couldn't kill one being seen no
- 44:43no hold on I could kill one without being seen but there's multiple targets
- 44:48assassinate a Target without getting spotted you could not get into one of
- 44:53them without some there's one where I'm telling you yeah no you're there's one
- 45:00Mission I'm thinking about where you've got a guy tied up but I do take out the
- 45:04guard but he probably sees me before I before I shoot him yeah yeah so that
- 45:11I've got no you're right I don't care if the guy I kill sees me first I only care
- 45:15if other people see me I've got pacified an individual and assassinated a Target
- 45:19without getting spotted they're the only two achievements I have in it I'm pretty
- 45:23sure I have pacify an individual too surely you've got pacify an individual
- 45:27okay good by shooting them in the face most yeah that's right most um I didn't
- 45:32even complete the prologue all right I'm not a Hitman fan
- 45:37man love Hitman yeah no no but I love the slow this it's kind of how I try to
- 45:40I try to play Wolfenstein like Hitman just sneak in no that that's it's a hard
- 45:45it's hard sometimes hard to play wolfen because you go in with it I'm going to
- 45:48go slow and I'm going to hide and be stealthy no you just got to run around
- 45:52and shoot yeah that's right and that's where the fun is anyway there are a few
- 45:56parts of the game where stealth does come in but for the most part just
- 46:00ymo shoot what I love about Hitman is sometimes you can really just get lucky
- 46:05you know what I mean I mean there in not in this one but in the previous one
- 46:08there's one where if you just follow the dude long enough he'll just go and stand
- 46:13on the edge of a cliff you know what I mean and you'll just push him
- 46:20yeah you got to get out too that's that's half the challenge with Hitman
- 46:25you don't just you don't just shoot a guy and then goes you win you've then
- 46:28got to leave no the whole undetected the whole thing like the whole you meant to
- 46:32just watch and especially with the different people in different times you
- 46:37got to watch them all work out their schedules they're going to be here at
- 46:40this time and then if I do this yeah and if you follow some of their I mean you
- 46:44could do whatever you want but if they've also got some pretty extravagant
- 46:48setups as well so if you there's one where you um it isn't the newest one
- 46:52where you you knock out and then impersonate a news aner who's there to
- 46:58do a news report but then you also rig the place where he's going to stand to
- 47:03be wet on the ground and his microphone cord that he's holding and he gets you
- 47:07know and then when they when they hit record on the camera he gets electrocut
- 47:11like it's [ __ ] it feels great once it all works out but you have to play just
- 47:16sort of over and over and over to get the hang of it and work out where it's
- 47:19all going to it's not for me yeah yeah just shoot him in the face and leave oh
- 47:24now I want to play more which is evidently what you do yeah cuz you're always
- 47:28spotted that's yeah yeah yeah and I just shoot everyone and then turn it off
- 47:35yep I've been watching some movies this week because um I as I said I've been on
- 47:41a very radic schedule and like just in the middle of the night I've got some
- 47:45time I'll pop on a movie um so I like Star Wars is good for that yeah look I
- 47:51I'm having this this dilemma right now of whether to watch movies I've seen and
- 47:55like or to just use this opport to see new movies I wouldn't have otherwise
- 47:59watched which brings me to this point right it's a new segment that I'd like
- 48:03to call I watch M Night shyamalan's new movie so that you don't have
- 48:09to um I wasn't going to anyway I assume you weren't I assume none of the
- 48:14listeners were he's got a new movie coming out called Old which looked to me
- 48:18like his worst concept yet right mhm people go remember the last movie I've
- 48:24seen of his was signs okay comparatively
- 48:28not that bad very very boring right for
- 48:32an alien in coup of exciting bits two very exciting bits one quite scary bit
- 48:38and then just garbage um and like Signs and all these other movies there's a big
- 48:43scene where ight himself plays a whole
- 48:46character but um this premise of this is
- 48:51three families go down to a beach mhm
- 48:54and the children get old they start to
- 48:59age and they've got to work out why they're getting
- 49:03old before they die now are they
- 49:08maturing or they just like a 5ye old no they're maturing they're maturing so
- 49:13they're thinking more adult thoughts uh Etc right okay but the
- 49:20adults aren't aging as rapidly as the kids
- 49:24yeah um there's no twist they do tell you what
- 49:30happened but there isn't a Twist per se
- 49:35um but this movie is so terrible like I
- 49:41can this is like the script of a high school kid writing his firstt fund his
- 49:47own movies now or something there's no or he's just got such enough clout on
- 49:53his name alone that there must be some studio going
- 49:57bring us a movie every 5 years don't make it cost any more than $10 million
- 50:03and we'll just let you have it cuz it makes it makes it back and we all get a
- 50:07nice paycheck and we get to go on holidays or wherever why not yeah cuz I
- 50:11know that Woody Allen I know it's not cool to like Woody Allen and everyone
- 50:14dumped him now but Sony Pictures had a deal with Woody Allen every year we'll
- 50:19give you a million dollar to do whatever you want we won't look at the script we
- 50:23won't we won't make any notes I did the same with Adam Sandler
- 50:27varying degrees of success I'm sure same as Woody yeah well I think he's still
- 50:32going yeah well Adam Sandler didn't touch any children so that's I mean in
- 50:36Hollywood that's the key to a longevity at the moment yeah it's not hard just
- 50:41don't touch them when you want to touch them don't don't yeah yeah oh look
- 50:47alleged alleged jewry's out actually jewy wasn't out jury acquitted Woody but
- 50:54there's certainly a lot of evidence that points directions but that's that's not
- 50:58for this podcast our comedy podcast old is terrible it's
- 51:02[ __ ] terrible so skip it man I
- 51:06honestly don't know why this is even a movie the premise isn't enough the last
- 51:13two hours this this is like Phantom Menace
- 51:17level script maybe it been better as maybe just like an outer limits episode
- 51:23cut it down to an hour exactly exactly Rod Sterling comes out of the start and
- 51:28goes wouldn't it be crazy if you aged your whole life in just 24 hours and
- 51:32then we see what that looks like for 22 minutes and then it it's ending and you
- 51:36go wow that was really profound mhm done
- 51:40yes yes exactly right um [ __ ] aw see I should be in Hollywood yeah well
- 51:46they'll probably steal that idea now so yeah they do listen they do listen um
- 51:51that was bad I saw three really good movies though and I'll just rattle these
- 51:55off really quick um last week I mentioned that I was watching the early films of den
- 52:02villain there's no need to get that name pronounced correctly with me yeah I'm
- 52:06sure sure I still wrong um the the guy
- 52:10the guy from June right Dennis yeah um he made a film 10ish years ago called
- 52:17enemy that I hadn't seen before where Jake gyllenhal finds a dude who looks
- 52:24exactly like him it's very good very good
- 52:30however don't watch it if you want them to explain what happens in the
- 52:35end oh so it's like a Christopher Nolan movie this one makes Christopher Nolan
- 52:40look like he's tied everything all up in NE package really yes yes is that is it
- 52:46mayy you just switched it off at like 15 minutes early evidently I went on the
- 52:51internet to try and find like enemy blined and there's some good theories
- 52:58some very good theories but there's no definitive Theory and you shouldn't have
- 53:01to go to the internet to find out a theory to end of a movie yeah but not
- 53:05only that apparently the actors in the film had to sign um waivers to say they will
- 53:11never say what it's about that's stupid yeah but very well done stop
- 53:18letting these people make movies very tense very well very well
- 53:22crafted the great thing about denil is that if you watch his films in order
- 53:26which which I absolutely haven't I'm going all over the place but you can
- 53:29really see how he defined his voice over the years y um it's a joy to watch he's
- 53:35he's fast becoming one of my favorite directors he's no Ed garite he is no Ed
- 53:41garite but edar is not always an Ed but I will say this one night in sohoo looks
- 53:44very good yes he needs to get past baby
- 53:48driver oh yeah that I don't yeah I don't know yeah don't know what he was
- 53:54thinking there Matt loves it so we obviously hit a cord with Matt it's not
- 53:58a bad movie it's just not what I want from him yeah I want fun yeah it was so
- 54:04up its own ass too man I just couldn't I couldn't deal with how important that
- 54:09movie seemed to feel that it was yeah no I want go back to making fun yeah more
- 54:16cornettos yeah yeah um another movie I watch also starting Jake gyllenhal which
- 54:22was in no way fun but was absolutely terrific was the guil
- 54:27which is set entirely in a 911 call
- 54:30center and it's about one operator played by Jake Gyllenhaal taking calls
- 54:36on one specific case throughout the course of a night and is excellent they
- 54:41do explain it in the end so if if you're thinking about just some tense crime
- 54:46Thriller where everything does get wrapped up this is a good one
- 54:52okay no no probably not for you Matt if you're listening Maybe Fe
- 54:57it last one I saw Scottish movie James makoy for the first time I think ever
- 55:04doing his own accent in a movie right it's called he's been allowed it's
- 55:09called my son which is not a very good name for a movie but I think they just
- 55:13did a search to see what phrase was used the most throughout the script and they
- 55:17just picked that right um but the premise behind this movie is Guy son
- 55:23gets kidnapped he's looking for his son right but but I think I've seen stuff
- 55:27about this yeah so if you've seen anything it's probably the conceit which
- 55:31I actually didn't know H explained this to me afterwards all the other actors
- 55:36except for James McAvoy were given the script and had rehearsal time on the day
- 55:42they brought James makoy the lead character in and just said react and
- 55:47we'll film it mhm yep that's what I've heard that yeah he just just he all his
- 55:52stuff was just all improv yeah so he had no idea what was going on he just love
- 55:56for just to throw some weird [ __ ] in there I know right
- 56:01yeah yeah like it's all about to be yes Ed so I'm going to react like this I'm
- 56:06going to get my dick out now what are you going to do about it I was wondering
- 56:10where you were going to go I I I I assumed it was going to be dick related
- 56:14and I wasn't disappointed y yeah Rob
- 56:19speak dick news there is Dick news there's some very disturbing dick news
- 56:24all right take us through the dick news PR the second all about Dick it's dick
- 56:31news this is something that came out in some UK Journal that I there's more to
- 56:37it they' they've written this in a very nice way they've been very kind to this
- 56:42young man haven't they the 15-year-old boy was triggered by sexual
- 56:48curiosity such such a funny phrase isn't
- 56:52it that he got a USB cable
- 56:57stuck up his penis now the article I originally read was he was the story was
- 57:02he was trying to measure his penis yes I read that too I think if you're going to
- 57:06measure your penis you to be outside outside right I mean there's the debate
- 57:11whether you do it along the top the bottom or the side but I don't think
- 57:14there's ever a debate for the inside and also how long how deep is my urethra and
- 57:21also a ruler yeah not a cable still not
- 57:26the inside and not a USB cable there's thinner cables than USB USB but the
- 57:33thing I don't understand is like cuz I'm thinking like he and it goes in and
- 57:37explains like he got had like both ends stuck out cu he tried once he' realized
- 57:42it was a horrible mistake he tried to correct and ended up somehow with both
- 57:46ends coming out but I think it's Al like you have to go in the show notes there
- 57:53will be a link go look at the X-ray for this cuz it's not what you think no it's
- 57:58not it and you know when you leave a USB in your bag or something and it gets all
- 58:03tangled up that happens when it's inside you
- 58:08apparently cuz there was a lot of this Cable in him yeah and I I just don't
- 58:14understand how how that I really don't get it I don't understand how we how do
- 58:19I fix this go more further in it got it went in and got wrapped wrapped around
- 58:25these balls what I mean it's it backs up
- 58:27on itself several times and also is in
- 58:32his [ __ ] ball sack as well it's got in there wrapped around the back of his
- 58:36ball so he can't be pulled out now you
- 58:40couldn't try to get it to do this now what happened was they take him to the
- 58:45hospital when he starts urinating blood at this stage he's still his
- 58:51parents still don't know or they think he's oh my God he's pissing blood yeah
- 58:55yeah and then he goes to the doctor goes can I get my mom to leave the
- 58:59room and then explains to the doctor and then just gets there and there just
- 59:05like very thick cable and two ends of a
- 59:09USB cable sticking out the um the the X-ray is very disturbing but
- 59:16what's more disturbing to me personally is when you see yeah the photo of what
- 59:20the cable now looks like I mean bloody to say the least but
- 59:25also just the amount of Tangled that it is and
- 59:29where they've had to cut to get this thing even out of this poor boy cuz the
- 59:36whole thing the to get that far and that Tangled and where it was Tangled he had
- 59:41to go in a very long way for that to even start to happen I don't now look
- 59:47I've never purposely put anything into
- 59:50my dick right I'll say that right now y I wouldn't know how
- 59:57and I would assume it would take a certain amount of like pressure yeah
- 1:00:02effort yeah like it's not you'd have to really want to do it this isn't
- 1:00:07something you're doing by accident yeah you're not I fell and in and a [ __ ]
- 1:00:13cable which is like flimsy as all [ __ ]
- 1:00:17mhm and also very big at at least one
- 1:00:21end well he didn't have the ends in yes but I argue if you're trying to measure
- 1:00:28something you got to measure it from one end
- 1:00:32what I I don't know I don't know either people you read the article work it out
- 1:00:37for yourself cuz I don't understand and I I I love this though the article says
- 1:00:42the most common reasons for inserting foreign objects into the body are sexual
- 1:00:46curiosity sexual practiced after intoxication and mental health disorders
- 1:00:52well yeah yeah I I I'm still saying like this triggered by sexual curiosity drunk
- 1:00:57as a [ __ ] skunk I've never G hey hand
- 1:01:02me that USB cable watch this I I I'm trying to think of the thinnest thing I
- 1:01:06can think of which is like a sewing needle I wouldn't put that in my [ __ ] dick
- 1:01:13no if they said here's a row of atoms stacked one at top another insert this
- 1:01:18into your be like no no who's saying
- 1:01:24that I'd have to just trust them that they were holding the atoms too
- 1:01:31really why are you going along with them now no to be clear I'm not going along
- 1:01:38with it I believe them that they've got the atoms I just don't want to put them
- 1:01:41in my dick they're on this my finger now just put them in let me put them in you
- 1:01:47they're on the end of my dick I also want this known this was in
- 1:01:53the UK yes but this is one of the things that just
- 1:01:58could happen anywhere these days yeah I know but I just I feel we need cuz
- 1:02:04obviously we're transpacific here on the on the podcast we're we're recording
- 1:02:08from both Australia and America most weeks and the things we report on
- 1:02:13genuinely happen in one of those two those two yeah so I just not this time
- 1:02:18yeah I feel where uh we we can just be happy that finally
- 1:02:22something is not happening in either of our two two countries in all fairness
- 1:02:27it's mostly America definitely mostly America there's only one geek at work
- 1:02:31this week and there was no competition this week for me okay so regardless of
- 1:02:36who else was in nor McDonald was going to win nor
- 1:02:43McDonald we I I've just always thought he was like the funniest from that generation
- 1:02:50ofn and definitely like not the household name that Adam Sandler became
- 1:02:56any those other guys from from his from his team I think he was the funniest and
- 1:03:01he went on to do the he had a show spinoff show called the norm show I
- 1:03:05don't think you ever saw it I I love that show that went for three seasons
- 1:03:09and then but it's also coming out now that a lot of it was just execs coming
- 1:03:14down and not liking his comedy and sort of well he does have a challenging
- 1:03:19comedy style like it's not for every it's not very broad like Adam Sandler
- 1:03:24you know or um what what's the what's the guy that always turns into things
- 1:03:29who's friends with these guys Rob Schneider Rob Schneider Rob Schneider um
- 1:03:33oh the the other one um yeah like um the little short one the blonde one oh
- 1:03:40yeah yeah exactly those those guys but he was just yeah I think no for me he
- 1:03:46just he was always funny it was that dead pen but not dead pen at the same
- 1:03:50time for me he's always Bert Reynolds on
- 1:03:55Celebrity Jeopardy Y and I'm not a huge fan of um Will
- 1:04:00Farrell by by any means but everyone who was on That Celebrity Jeopardy sketch
- 1:04:06was excellent those were just so well written mhm and and Norm as uh Bert
- 1:04:13Reynolds Turd Ferguson yep just so
- 1:04:17memorable yeah he he he's not in a lot no I think a lot of more most of his
- 1:04:23stuff was probably more stand up that yeah I think it's cuz he had a couple of
- 1:04:27movies SNL Norm show but a lot of has some cameos in like Adam sand movies
- 1:04:32like in Adam sand movies Billy Madison he just his friend who hangs out by the
- 1:04:36pool yeah um then even later he play he was like my name's ear and stuff like as
- 1:04:43a spin-off character for that for a couple of episodes but yeah I don't know
- 1:04:47I think yeah you know what he was he was best on talk shows when he was being
- 1:04:53interviewed and he would tell stor that would just went for [ __ ] ages
- 1:05:00and sounded like they were going in One Direction as some kind of punch line to
- 1:05:04a joke and then he would just spin it to be about something completely different
- 1:05:08than unexpected and you know you'd always see the hosts in tears yep well
- 1:05:13even Annie RoR his sister Annie RoR put a tweet up going he's a message from my
- 1:05:17sister and his sister's like remember that time I came to see you in the
- 1:05:20office and you were off rehearsing something and Norm was there I was 18
- 1:05:23nor just sat down and spoke to me and asked about my my life for like an hour
- 1:05:26and it's like the that's the only person who I've met from like all of your like
- 1:05:31quotequote famous friends that actually
- 1:05:33was wow interested in who I was not just
- 1:05:38so um jokes aside he died of cancer and apparently he's had this for some time
- 1:05:44and and just hadn't made it public so yep seems to be the seems to be the new
- 1:05:49thing it's yeah I think people been happen a bit lately I think people when
- 1:05:54they find out they have cancer are so [ __ ] angry at cancer itself just at
- 1:05:59the concept of cancer that they're like [ __ ] you you're not going to ruin my
- 1:06:02life I've got things I want to do first I'm going to get them all out of the way
- 1:06:05and if you kill me after that mhm fine but yeah no no just yeah just
- 1:06:11become the thing yeah going to get cancer not tell anyone and just work
- 1:06:16through all these terrible it must be hard though and I remember you telling
- 1:06:18me years ago that when you had when you had the Big C your family weren't using
- 1:06:23the word cancer no for for a Time and um and then your oncologist I think at one
- 1:06:29point were like first say cancer because that's what you're up against so that's
- 1:06:34what we've got to call it and it was funny my mom when she had cancer same
- 1:06:38thing she wouldn't say it she just didn't want to say cancer that's what it
- 1:06:43is yeah yeah and it sucks and it's
- 1:06:47common as all [ __ ] mhm like all of these kind of people who used to die of old
- 1:06:53age or natural causes like well most of that was cancer one form of or another
- 1:06:59yeah well that's what thing like there thing like people with this is a lot of
- 1:07:03this cancer stuff has probably been around for a very long time but people
- 1:07:06didn't know why people died you just yeah exactly died they just died you
- 1:07:09like [ __ ] yeah [ __ ] cancer now let's
- 1:07:13head to the after party now on such a
- 1:07:17highy all for this week thank you for listening and we hope you enjoyed the
