- 0:11Speaker 2: the numbers eight sixty six, nine two, seven forty three
- 0:14Speaker 2: sixty one use it. Call us. Tell us why you're
- 0:17Speaker 2: feeling good this morning, so we can share that joy,
- 0:20Speaker 2: and God willing, it'll be contagious and it'll spread and multiply.
- 0:24Speaker 2: We'll all feel better as we get this new day started. Chili,
- 0:26Speaker 2: why are you feeling good today?
- 0:28Speaker 3: So we got one of those bird feeders that also
- 0:31Speaker 3: has a camera and identifies the different birds, the songbirds
- 0:34Speaker 3: that come by Toby. We are now up to thirteen
- 0:37Speaker 3: different species that have stopped by the house to feed
- 0:40Speaker 3: every day. We're up to over one hundred visits a day.
- 0:43Speaker 3: And let me tell you my favorite species to date,
- 0:46Speaker 3: and I can't wait to say this name on the
- 0:48Speaker 3: air is the tufted titmouse that has come by. Excuse me,
- 0:51Speaker 3: this little songbird is so adorable. I look forward to
- 0:55Speaker 3: seeing it every day. Did you just say tufted titmouse?
- 0:58Speaker 2: I did. Wow.
- 0:59Speaker 3: The FCC can't do anything about it because it is
- 1:02Speaker 3: indeed a true species.
- 1:03Speaker 2: That's right, and there's nothing you can say or do
- 1:07Speaker 2: about it. If you have any problems, you can call
- 1:10Speaker 2: the Smithsonian the National Zoo, because they know a thing
- 1:13Speaker 2: or two about birds, and they'll tell you that the
- 1:15Speaker 2: tufted titmouse is indeed indigenous to northern Virginia. That's right.
- 1:20Speaker 2: That's why I'm feeling well. You know I can't compete
- 1:23Speaker 2: with the tufted titmouse, but.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I just you're feeling good because you too, got
- 1:30Speaker 3: to say tough to titmouse.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Tough mouse. Well you know, yes, I'm feeling good because
- 1:36Speaker 2: I just said tufted titmouse. The bird, the noble song
- 1:40Speaker 2: bird that comes by Chili's house for some food. Sometimes
- 1:44Speaker 2: you just have to drop the microphone. And that was
- 1:46Speaker 2: a mic drop moment.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Well, a bar has now been set, so now it's
- 1:50Speaker 3: your turn. Why don't you give us a call and
- 1:52Speaker 3: tell us what's making you happy today?
- 1:54Speaker 2: Yes? Please eight six, six, nine two seven forty three
- 1:56Speaker 2: sixty one. You won't say tough to tit mouse? No, no,
- 2:00Speaker 2: you won't, Or tap the talkback microphone. If it's easier,
- 2:02Speaker 2: you can send us a quick voice note if you're
- 2:04Speaker 2: signed in and you're listening to your iHeart app right now.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Stay there. The news is on the way. Top Stories
- 2:11Speaker 2: at the top of the hour.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Good Morning, Top Stories top of the hour.
- 2:18Speaker 3: The US says it's Iran operation is ahead of schedule,
- 2:21Speaker 3: with forces crippling air defenses, destroying hundreds of missiles and drones,
- 2:25Speaker 3: and sinking seventeen ships and Iran's only submarine. Meanwhile, Iran
- 2:29Speaker 3: has retaliated with over five hundred missiles and two thousand drones. Locally,
- 2:34Speaker 3: law enforcement agencies across the DC area are increasing patrols
- 2:38Speaker 3: and visibility in response to the overseas tensions, with added
- 2:41Speaker 3: presence around the Capitol, metro stations, houses of whip, warship,
- 2:46Speaker 3: and busy public areas. The DC Council unanimously approved an
- 2:51Speaker 3: emergency bill requiring public release of police body camera footage
- 2:56Speaker 3: within five days whenever federal agents use force. Lawmakers also
- 3:01Speaker 3: passed a measure mandating written incident reports and the collection
- 3:04Speaker 3: of agents' names, saying these steps will increase transparency and
- 3:08Speaker 3: accountability in joint operations. A Silver Springman wanted for assaulting
- 3:13Speaker 3: passengers on a metro train is now in custody. Police
- 3:17Speaker 3: arrested twenty eight year old Brian Batanker shortly after posting
- 3:22Speaker 3: his photo online, alleging that he live streamed himself touching
- 3:27Speaker 3: female rider's hair. He was previously convicted in connection with
- 3:32Speaker 3: the January sixth Capitol riot, and recent American Heart Association
- 3:37Speaker 3: studies show that dog ownership is linked to a twenty
- 3:40Speaker 3: four percent lower risk of death and reduced chances of
- 3:44Speaker 3: early death from a stroke or heart attack. Regularly walking
- 3:48Speaker 3: a dog is even more beneficial, helping people cut the
- 3:51Speaker 3: risk of death by thirty one percent. Forecast cloudy with
- 3:55Speaker 3: scattered showers today. Highs around fifty right now forty two
- 3:58Speaker 3: in Montgomery Village.
- 4:00Speaker 2: And that is the news on this Wednesday morning with
- 4:02Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the Morning. You get top stories
- 4:04Speaker 2: at the top of the hour so you can be
- 4:06Speaker 2: informed as you start your day. And next we'll check
- 4:10Speaker 2: on you and your headspace, your morning mindset. A quote
- 4:14Speaker 2: that might inspire you to turn your day around or
- 4:16Speaker 2: to live a little more loudly today, we'll get to
- 4:20Speaker 2: that coming up in minutes. Stay with us. It is
- 4:24Speaker 2: ninety seven point one watch FM Toby and Chilly in
- 4:27Speaker 2: the Morning, and it's time now for your morning mindset.
- 4:29Speaker 3: This is where we pause and share a quote with
- 4:32Speaker 3: you to get you into a better headspace is you
- 4:34Speaker 3: take on the rest of your hump day.
- 4:36Speaker 2: The CEO of the Walt Disney Company, Bob Eiger, says,
- 4:42Speaker 2: the riskiest thing that we can do is just maintain
- 4:45Speaker 2: the status quo. I don't know that that really needs
- 4:48Speaker 2: any kind of explanation. The riskiest thing we can do
- 4:51Speaker 2: is just maintain the status quo. Leaving things as they
- 4:55Speaker 2: are while it might be safe, can become complacent. And
- 5:01Speaker 2: when you want to do radical things in this world,
- 5:04Speaker 2: when you want to make a change, you have to
- 5:06Speaker 2: shatter that complacency. And that's what I think Bob Iger
- 5:10Speaker 2: wants us to take with us today as we get
- 5:12Speaker 2: into this Wednesday. The riskiest thing we can do is
- 5:15Speaker 2: just maintain the status quo. Hopefully that helped. If you
- 5:19Speaker 2: need to read it again, you can find it the
- 5:21Speaker 2: Toby and Chili page on install or at washefm dot com.
- 5:25Speaker 2: And if you've got a quote that's motivated you this
- 5:28Speaker 2: week or at some point in time when you really
- 5:30Speaker 2: needed it, share it with us and maybe it'll motivate
- 5:33Speaker 2: somebody in this space tomorrow. It's ninety seven point one
- 5:36Speaker 2: WASHFM Toby and Chilly in the Morning, where next.
- 5:39Speaker 3: We've got some calls on what is bringing you joy
- 5:42Speaker 3: and putting a smile to your face as we ask
- 5:45Speaker 3: you every morning at the beginning of the show.
- 5:46Speaker 2: It's the tufted titmouse edition of this little conversation that
- 5:51Speaker 2: we will have. If you don't know, it's a bird
- 5:53Speaker 2: that visits Chili's house, we'll get to that next when
- 5:56Speaker 2: we get up in the morning and we roll into
- 5:58Speaker 2: the studio to start Toby and Chill in the Morning
- 6:00Speaker 2: here on ninety seven point one Watch FM. The first
- 6:03Speaker 2: thing we do is pause and think about something that's
- 6:05Speaker 2: bringing you some joy? Why are you feeling good before
- 6:07Speaker 2: five o'clock in the morning, and we share what it
- 6:11Speaker 2: is for us and sometimes just sometimes you hit us
- 6:14Speaker 2: up and you tell us what it is that's bringing
- 6:17Speaker 2: you some joy. Today would be one of those days.
- 6:21Speaker 3: And now we're gonna speak with Chris, who lives out
- 6:23Speaker 3: in Woodbridge. Chris, why are you smiling this morning?
- 6:26Speaker 5: I just went to a great stand up comedy show
- 6:29Speaker 5: last night and made me laugh and laugh, which I
- 6:32Speaker 5: really needed given all that's going on in the world.
- 6:35Speaker 5: That kind of makes me catch.
- 6:36Speaker 2: I can completely understand the whole tense nature of things
- 6:40Speaker 2: these days.
- 6:41Speaker 3: There Chris, any reason to smile or laugh, it's a
- 6:44Speaker 3: good one.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Aim into that. So Tacoma Park, Jeanette, good morning. Why
- 6:50Speaker 2: are you feeling good on this Wednesday?

- 7:24Speaker 5: I never thought I wanted to have kids. My wife
- 7:26Speaker 5: and I pretty much agree we weren't going to, but
- 7:28Speaker 5: when she told me she was pregnant, that all change.
- 7:31Speaker 6: So I'm pretty excited about it.
- 7:32Speaker 2: I have a feeling, Roy, that's not the only change
- 7:35Speaker 2: on the horizon for you personally and for the two

- 11:00Speaker 2: you get up with ninety seven point one wash FM,
- 11:03Speaker 2: Toby A Chilli in the morning and Chili, I'm trying
- 11:06Speaker 2: to reach this next healing milestone. Oh, I've been running simulations,
- 11:12Speaker 2: which means I've been practicing. I feel like I'm almost there, almost,
- 11:18Speaker 2: but then again I'm not completely sure and that's kind
- 11:21Speaker 2: of got me feeling some sort of way. All tell
- 11:24Speaker 2: you more about it coming up in minutes. Stay with us,
- 11:27Speaker 2: Toby at Chilli in the morning. It is ninety seven
- 11:29Speaker 2: point one wash FM. You know, I didn't realize, Chilli
- 11:32Speaker 2: how tense I was about getting back behind the wheel
- 11:34Speaker 2: driving until I actually thought about it and everything involved
- 11:39Speaker 2: with it. For me now since my knee surgery, as
- 11:42Speaker 2: you know at the end of last year, and if
- 11:44Speaker 2: you've been listening, you know that I've faced three of
- 11:46Speaker 2: them and of course of seven months getting back behind
- 11:49Speaker 2: the wheel for me knowing that in order to do that,
- 11:52Speaker 2: I've got to use this role later which has been
- 11:54Speaker 2: like my mobility aid to get to the car, to
- 11:57Speaker 2: put it in the back, and then to go from
- 12:00Speaker 2: the back of the car to the front without falling, stumbling, tripping,
- 12:04Speaker 2: sliding on ice. That to me is where things get scary.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Then I have to rinse and repeat when I get
- 12:09Speaker 2: to my destination.
- 12:10Speaker 3: That's true.
- 12:10Speaker 2: You know, it's not really about traffic or driving. It's
- 12:14Speaker 2: about trusting that my knee can react to all the
- 12:17Speaker 2: other things that are part of this process. For me. Now,
- 12:20Speaker 2: I've got to get it out of my head that
- 12:22Speaker 2: one thing might undo months of my recovery.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Well, the thing is, you've been going to physical therapy,
- 12:28Speaker 3: and the physical therapist has given you the green light
- 12:31Speaker 3: to drive, and they trust based on what you've been
- 12:35Speaker 3: able to do in the therapy sessions that you could
- 12:38Speaker 3: get out and go to the back and get the
- 12:40Speaker 3: roll later out and do it yourself. And sometimes you
- 12:43Speaker 3: just have to jump in and try and do it
- 12:47Speaker 3: again and again and again to build that confidence and
- 12:50Speaker 3: believe that your knee is going to be okay. Once
- 12:53Speaker 3: you've achieved that milestone, the next thing is going to
- 12:57Speaker 3: be graduating from the roll later to whatever it is
- 13:00Speaker 3: that comes after that, you know, whether it's a cane
- 13:02Speaker 3: or whatever. And it's like it's a whole process, and
- 13:05Speaker 3: you have to trust the process. If you let fear
- 13:08Speaker 3: keep you from moving to the next step, then it's
- 13:10Speaker 3: gonna be a lot harder for you to get back
- 13:12Speaker 3: to life before surgery.
- 13:14Speaker 2: I have got to get to the point I think
- 13:17Speaker 2: Chili where I say to my body, you listen to me.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Now I'm not just healing anymore. We're moving forward and
- 13:23Speaker 2: I'm going to do this now. Take this role later
- 13:26Speaker 2: and like it anyway. If you've got any thoughts you
- 13:30Speaker 2: want to share, maybe you've been through like some sort
- 13:32Speaker 2: of a knee procedure, some sort of a knee situation.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Would love to hear how you coped at eight sixty six,
- 13:38Speaker 2: nine two, seven forty three sixty one, or tap that
- 13:40Speaker 2: talk back microphone. It's always open for your comments. And
- 13:42Speaker 2: stay with Toby and Chilly in the Morning because next your.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Favorite playlist might now outlive you. Spotify has created the
- 13:52Speaker 3: Eternal Playlist Earn somewhere where your ashes can be listening
- 13:56Speaker 3: to music.

- 14:17Speaker 3: built in speaker inside the lid of an urn, so
- 14:21Speaker 3: if you were to get cremated, you would be able
- 14:24Speaker 3: to listen to your favorite playlist, even from beyond.
- 14:27Speaker 2: All of your favorite songs for eternity.
- 14:32Speaker 3: I don't think I ever thought about creating an eternal playlist.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Well, now it's time, because well you can get this
- 14:39Speaker 2: Spotify has it. And well, I don't know what would
- 14:43Speaker 2: you put on an eternal playlist.
- 14:46Speaker 3: I'm gonna go with Coldplay sky full of Stars Stars Side.
- 14:58Speaker 2: That is a great song. Forget how good Coldplay really
- 15:03Speaker 2: is till you hear a song like that, and you
- 15:05Speaker 2: would listen to that for eternity, forever and ever and ever. Amen, Sure,
- 15:09Speaker 2: why not?
- 15:10Speaker 3: What would you put on this playful eternal playlist?
- 15:13Speaker 2: Bruce Hornsby in the range, the show goes on.
- 15:16Speaker 7: Oh that's good too, because still without me, the show
- 15:26Speaker 7: goes on.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Man, we need to go on and on with how
- 15:29Speaker 3: many other songs we can add to this? There?
- 15:31Speaker 2: Could well start thinking now because it's a thing. Could
- 15:35Speaker 2: be some really dark humor. But it's definitely effective marketing
- 15:39Speaker 2: because we're talking about it now the Spotify Liquid Death
- 15:43Speaker 2: Eternal playlist. Earn, what would you add to that playlist?
