- 0:05The night of October thirty- one, known as the night of Bruges,
- 0:09was coming and the atmosphere was filled with a mysterious and chilling air. The
- 0:15cemetery located near our house, prepared for the day of the dead. The
- 0:22people placed offerings in the tombs to honor their deceased. My parents decided to
- 0:28fix the tomb of my maternal grandparents, whom my sister Andrea and I loved
- 0:33deeply. We wanted to help, but we were also attracted to the beauty
- 0:40of the cemetery, so we asked permission to take a walk and admire the
- 0:44offerings. Although there were rumors that it was dangerous to be in cemeteries during
- 0:49that night, as spirits and witches wandered freely. Both Andrea and I didn
- 0:55' t believe in those superstitions. We were absolutely not afraid, not to
- 1:02mention that that was the first year in which we were old enough for my
- 1:06parents to let us walk on our own in the cemetery and we really wanted
- 1:11to take advantage of it. There was a legend by which that cemetery was
- 1:17well known. According to legend, the Bruges Labyrinth was a place where ancient
- 1:22witches had been buried in remote times. It was said that during Halloween,
- 1:29these witches were resurrected and gathered in the Labyrinth to perform dark rituals and evil
- 1:34spells. People believed that power and darkness emanated from that place, making it
- 1:41a magnet for supernatural forces. Legend had it that the entrance to the maze
- 1:48of the Witches was revealed only on the day of the dead. Once a
- 1:52year, when the barrier between the world of the living and the kingdom of
- 1:56the spirits was thinner. My parents gave us permission to go exploring as long
- 2:01as we didn' t take too long, so neither short nor lazy we
- 2:07ran before they added any other conditions. Walking through the graves and marveling at
- 2:13the ornaments, we reached the bottom of the cemetery. There, in front
- 2:17of us was a cave that we had never seen before. It was hidden
- 2:23between the weeds, but someone had cleared the way. That night. The
- 2:29Great Moon illuminated the sky and allowed the entrance of the cave to be clearly
- 2:32curious. We looked out and noticed a bright light inside, which caused us
- 2:38great curiosity and intrigue. The legend had never mentioned any caverns, not to
- 2:46mention that my sister told me that she had seen that cave before, only
- 2:51that the entrance was so covered in weeds that she knew it would be impossible
- 2:55to enter it. Without hesitation, Andrea and I, without two twins and
- 3:00understanding each other with just one look, decided to go in and explore the
- 3:05cave. We proceeded cautiously through a narrow passageway where the ground was damp and
- 3:10slippery. Still, we continued to advance to a huge illuminated cavern, but
- 3:16enigmatic we could not see the ceiling, since it was too high and we
- 3:23could only distinguish a black mass that was shaken up there the stalactites mysteriously shone
- 3:30with light, creating a magical atmosphere. However, our admiration was interrupted when
- 3:36the black mass, which we discovered very late was morciélagos, suddenly descended upon
- 3:40us. Thousands and thousands of them were flying crazy around us. While we
- 3:50were screaming scared. Luckily, the bats found their way out of the cave
- 3:55and disappeared. We both breathe relieved. We continue to explore the cavern.
- 4:03The light that illuminated the place came from torches strategically placed on the walls,
- 4:09creating dancing shadows that seemed to have life. Relieved, we went further into
- 4:15the cavern, captivated by the mysterious atmosphere that enveloped it. As we moved
- 4:19forward, we heard a soft and subtle whisper that seemed to come from everywhere.
- 4:26At the same time we stopped and looked at each other wondering if the
- 4:30other had heard it too. The whisper became clearer and different. It seemed
- 4:38to be some kind of invocation or spell in a language unknown to us.
- 4:43We slowly approached the sound source, following the voices that seemed to call us.
- 4:49As we moved forward cautiously, we realized that the cave was full of
- 4:55symbols and mystical marks, enigmatic drawings on the back of the walls, representing
- 5:02ancient rituals and spells. Every step we took was more immersed in the mystery
- 5:08and magic of that place. Suddenly we heard a soft whisper that seemed to
- 5:14come from the deepest part of the cavern. We followed the sound and went
- 5:18further into a small opening in the wall as we looked out we saw a
- 5:25hidden room illuminated by a single blinking candle. It was then that we noticed
- 5:30in the center of that room a strange large rectangular stone on its flat surface.
- 5:38It looked like a sacrifice stone, as Andrea mentioned. As we tried
- 5:44to catch our breath without believing in superstitions, I sat on the stone to
- 5:48show my sister that there was nothing to fear. She imitated me and we
- 5:54sat together suddenly we heard strange chants resounding in the cavern of every corner.
- 6:02Hooded figures emerged, all dressed in black. Without stopping singing their litany,
- 6:09they surrounded us and then took off their hoods. A cry of horror escaped
- 6:14our lips. Seeing their deformed faces, they were horrible witches, with some
- 6:19white hair hanging from their skulls and greenish skin. His eyes were large and
- 6:26in some of them blind and white. His thin hands and long sharp nails
- 6:31resembled claws. The witches began to sing and dance around us. At that
- 6:40moment out of nowhere a snake came out of the stone and enveloped us by
- 6:46imprisoning our bodies. It was clear that we would become the sacrifices of that
- 6:51night of witches. Terror seized us, desperate to escape that nightmare. An
- 6:59an An of RNS and I are looking for a way to free ourselves from
- 7:02the snakes that imprisoned us in an act of courage and despair. We fought
- 7:08and twisted until we managed to free ourselves from their poisonous claws. However,
- 7:14as we looked out of the cave, we realized that the witches were covering
- 7:16it completely. We had no choice but to go further into the darkness of
- 7:25the cave. We cautiously advanced our hearts by beating wildly as we explored the
- 7:32underground labyrinths of the cavern. The walls were wet and slippery and we could
- 7:39only trust our senses to find a way out. The echo of our steps
- 7:44resonated in silence, constantly reminding us of the threat that surrounded us. As
- 7:49we moved forward, we noticed that the air became heavier and full of a
- 7:55fetid aroma. We went into narrow, winding passages, where only the dim
- 8:01light of our lanterns guided us the shadows danced on the walls, fueling our
- 8:07growing sense of terror. Suddenly we come to a fork on the uncertain path
- 8:16from which direction to take. We stopped for a moment to evaluate our options.
- 8:22It was then that we heard whispers coming from one of the intrigued and
- 8:28fearful passages. We decided to follow the sound hoping to find some answer or
- 8:33help in that place. We went deeper into the passage, following the whispers
- 8:37that resounded in our ears. As we moved forward, the atmosphere became more
- 8:45oppressive and dark and the feeling that something sinister was watching us intensified. As
- 8:52we advanced through the passage, the whispers intensified, becoming clearer and more distinct.
- 9:00They were voices, voices that seemed to whisper spells and curses in an
- 9:05unknown language. The echo of our own voices was lost in the midst of
- 9:09that sinister chorus. Finally, we arrive at a large underground room illuminated by
- 9:16blinking candles. There, still being searched for and persecuted, we found an
- 9:22old book open on a stone altar. His pages were written in an arcane
- 9:28language and his symbols seemed to come alive before our eyes. We did not
- 9:33understand the language, but luckily, on one of the pages appeared to be
- 9:37the way out of the maze, and that could be understood by simple intuition,
- 9:43so we decided to take the book and continue to flee desperate to escape
- 9:48from that dark maze. Andrea and I ran through the narrow passages, trying
- 9:52to get away from the witches who relentlessly chased our hearts. They beat it
- 10:00hard, while terror drove us forward. At a time of frantic career,
- 10:07we came to a place where the walls of the cave were decorated with old
- 10:11paintings. The images represented spooky scenes of sacrifices and macabre rituals. It was
- 10:20evident that for many years that place had witnessed unimaginable horrors. The paintings were
- 10:26vivid and detailed, showing the witches performing sinister rituals while unarmed bodies lay on
- 10:33the ground victims of their dark practices. That shuddering vision only reminded us that
- 10:41we were trapped in a cursed place, a sanctuary of Evil that had claimed
- 10:46numerous lives. However, we did not have time to be carried away by
- 10:52the horror emanating from the paintings. The witches kept stepping on our heels,
- 10:56their malevolent laughter filled the air. There was no other option but to continue
- 11:03to advance in search of a way out, although each step seems to take
- 11:07us even deeper into the darkness. We continued to run our lanterns, tottering
- 11:13as terror drove us forward. The maze of passage became more and more entangled,
- 11:20making our progression more difficult. However, determination kept us in motion,
- 11:26refusing to surrender to the nightmare that was haunting us. Finally, after what
- 11:33seemed like an eternity of flight, we came to a point where the passage
- 11:37forked again. The choice of our next path was crucial, but there was
- 11:43no time to think about it carefully. We opted for the passage on the
- 11:48right, which contained a symbol, which we had previously seen in that book
- 11:52and continued to run waiting for it to lead us to freedom. As n
- 11:58n n n bar for the right passage. The environment became more oppressive and
- 12:03asphyxiating. The air was filled with a stale smell and suffocating heat. He
- 12:09wrapped us up. Every step we took seemed to take us deeper into the
- 12:15bowels of the underground labyrinth. The passage narrowed more and more, forcing us
- 12:20to move down. Our hearts were pounding and adrenaline was still pumping through our
- 12:26veins. As we desperately sought a way out, the evil whispers seemed to
- 12:33haunt us. Their voices resounded in our minds filling us with fear. Suddenly
- 12:39we came to a small open space in the maze in front of us.
- 12:46A stone door stood imposing, covered with symbols and mystical marks. A faint
- 12:52light filtered through the grooves of the door, creating a mysterious aura around it.
- 12:58It was our hope to escape from that hellish place without thinking about it.
- 13:03Twice we approach the door and examine carefully. The symbols carved on its
- 13:09surface were intricate and unknown, but something inside of us told us that we
- 13:16had to decipher them to open the door, so without many ideas, we
- 13:22began to look again at the pages of that book. The book was a
- 13:26compendium of magic and occultism, written in an arcane language that we could barely
- 13:33understand the illustrations on its pages represented symbols and spells and felt it contained answers
- 13:39that could help us escape the maze of witches. With trembling hands, we
- 13:46walked the pages carefully. As we moved on. We realized that there were
- 13:50sections dedicated to the history and rituals of the ancient witches who inhabited that place.
- 13:58We discovered stories about his power and his connection to the dark magic that
- 14:03permeated the cemetery and cavern. However, in the middle of the macabre stories
- 14:09we found a section that seemed to contain the keys to getting out of the
- 14:13maze. There, among the worn pages were hidden indications in the form of
- 14:20symbols and riddles. The book seemed to be offering an escape opportunity, but
- 14:26we knew it would not be easy to decipher their messages. Our hearts were
- 14:31beating with anxiety and emotion, as we knew our time was running out and
- 14:35the witches were still stalking us, so we decided to get going. We
- 14:41touched some of the symbols in the order in which the book said and,
- 14:45for our fortune, the door opened by giving way to another section of the
- 14:50Labyrinth. But this time everything seemed to be a straight line. As we
- 14:54advanced, the sound of witches slowly faded away, but we dared not let
- 14:58our guard down. The darkness enveloped us, but the lanterns briefly revealed flashes
- 15:05of what appeared to be inscribed on the walls of the labyrinth, were symbols
- 15:11and words in an ancient and unknown language. Our eyes stopped in a particular
- 15:16inscription engraved with depth on the rock. It seemed like a warning, a
- 15:24warning of the horrors lurking in that forbidden place. However, we could not
- 15:30allow ourselves to be distracted any longer. The danger was still present. We
- 15:37continue forward, increasingly determined to find a way out. The passages narrowed and
- 15:43twisted challenging us. As we moved on. The Maze seemed to have a
- 15:50life of its own, as if it caught us in its web of fear
- 15:54and despair. However, almost as if it were a miracle, my sister
- 15:58recognized one of the book' s hynnsolos, so we decided to take that
- 16:03path with the book in our hands we moved forward cautiously. Following the indications
- 16:08that seemed to be marked on the walls of the maze, the witches were
- 16:15still relentlessly pursuing us. His laughter resounded in our ears, fueling our terror
- 16:21to. Every step we took seemed to close the maze around us, pushing
- 16:26us further into despair. The atmosphere became darker and more oppressive. As we
- 16:33advanced, the shadows danced on the walls, distorting our perceptions and fueling our
- 16:40fears, but we continued forward, clinging to the hope of finding a way
- 16:47out and escaping the clutches of the witches, who seemed to be stalking us
- 16:52from the depths of the darkness. Every step we took resonated in the sepulchral
- 16:56silence of the place, echoing in our ears and runs, reminding us of
- 17:00the alone and helpless we were. Our path led us through twisted corridors and
- 17:07abandoned rooms, where the presence of witches became increasingly palpable. Disquieting whispers slid
- 17:15through the air, seeming to rise from all sides at once, whispering unknown
- 17:19names and promising a terrible destiny. The tension between us was overwhelming. Each
- 17:27of us held on to his courage and hope, but our forces began to
- 17:33wane. Weary looks and pale faces reflected the physical and emotional exhaustion that seized
- 17:40us. Still, none of them dared to back down. We knew we
- 17:48only had one chance to escape and we couldn' t afford to fail.
- 17:52Finally, we came to a door between doors. At the end of a
- 17:56corridor, the dim light filtered from the other side, inviting us into an
- 18:03unknown place. We look back exchanging looks, full of determination and fear without
- 18:11words. We' re getting ready for whatever' s waiting for us on
- 18:15the other side. The passage led us to the surface, where the moonlight
- 18:19lit our way. We breathe relieved by feeling the fresh air on our free
- 18:26faces. At the end of that dark place, we looked back and saw
- 18:30the stone door close behind us as if it had swallowed the nightmare we lived
- 18:37in we knew that we would never return to that place again, but we
- 18:42were also aware that the witches were still there waiting for new inquisitives to venture.
- 18:47In the maze of witches. We took a few moments to catch our
- 18:52breath and appreciate the freedom we had gained. The full moon shone in the
- 18:57starry sky and its eyes. Soft light lit up. The landscape that extended
- 19:00before us It was a leafy forest, full of tall trees and vines that
- 19:07intertwined with each other. We walked along the path that meandered through the trees,
- 19:14enjoying every step that took us away from that dark and sinister place.
- 19:19Peace and tranquility reigned in the environment and we could feel the weight of what
- 19:23happened slowly faded away. As we moved forward, we began to hear the
- 19:30gentle sounds of nature around us. The song of the birds, the whisper
- 19:37of the wind between the leaves and the soft murmur of a nearby stream.
- 19:41They reminded us that we were back in the outside world. Far from oppression
- 19:45and darkness, we continue to walk for a time without a particular direction.
- 19:52We simply let ourselves be led along the path trusting that it would take us
- 19:56somewhere safe and welcoming. The sense of freedom was overwhelming and filled us with
- 20:03hope and renewed energy. As we relaxed, looked up at the sky and
- 20:08watched the stars shining brightly, we were grateful to have escaped from that dark
- 20:15place and found this haven of peace in the midst of nature. We went
- 20:22back to the Cemetery, where our parents were waiting for us to worry.
- 20:26We tell them our terrifying experience, but we decided to omit some details so
- 20:33as not to alarm them more than necessary. Despite the scare, we are
- 20:37proud to have shown courage and cunning to face that danger. From that day
- 20:44on, the Cemetery and the Maze of the Witches became a constant warning in
- 20:48our minds. We learned to respect legends and not to underestimate the power of
- 20:55the unknown, but above all, we learned the thing in our intuition and
- 21:00not to let ourselves be carried away by blind curiosity anonymous account
