Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Two teas in a pod with Teddy Mellencamp and Cameradge Edge.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Hi, guys, welcome to another episode of The Twat Seat
- 0:20Speaker 2: with Me and tam Hi.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Tam Hi, It's it's been a little.
- 0:25Speaker 4: Bit, you know.
- 0:26Speaker 2: I'm I'm, I'm here. I'm showing up because I have
- 0:29Speaker 2: Captain Jason. I've already texted Andy to ask if I'm
- 0:32Speaker 2: going to have a crush on him. Like things are moving,
- 0:36Speaker 2: but like I'm slowly but surely.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Recovering from hypothermia from my night last night.
- 0:43Speaker 5: Why didn't you bring like a heating pad or something.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Why would I bring a heating pad. I rented a camper.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I would assume that I arrive.
- 0:50Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 0:51Speaker 5: I always we always travel with them, just because of
- 0:55Speaker 5: my lower his Eddie's lower back, my shoulder. It's a
- 0:58Speaker 5: it's a lot of people think I don't know.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Well, Slat and I were living our best life. We
- 1:02Speaker 3: figured out how to set up the warm water.
- 1:05Speaker 2: This time, we've unpacked, I mean, granted, we have to
- 1:08Speaker 2: unpack into the pantry because there's no closets in here,
- 1:12Speaker 2: and everything's great, and then it starts to.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Get cold and shit is hitting the fan.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I start texting the camper place, I start texting every
- 1:21Speaker 2: person I know at the horse show.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Everyone's like, do you have pro pain? I'm like, I
- 1:25Speaker 3: don't know. Do I have pro paine?
- 1:28Speaker 5: That's why I need a man sometimes. You know what,
- 1:31Speaker 5: I would know how to do any of that stuff.
- 1:33Speaker 5: You know who would know how to do that? You
- 1:35Speaker 5: know who would That'd be Captain Jason.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Do you think he would know how to change my
- 1:40Speaker 3: pro paine?
- 1:41Speaker 5: I think he can do a lot of things with you.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Well, that'll be our first question.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Let's go ahead and bring him in.
- 1:49Speaker 5: We just want to say thank you so much for
- 1:50Speaker 5: joining us today. Before we get into it all, let's
- 1:53Speaker 5: start with the hard stuff. Are you Are you currently single?
- 1:58Speaker 3: I was gonna ask, do we need to call you? Happen?
- 2:01Speaker 4: You can call me Jason.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Oh, thank thank you.
- 2:04Speaker 4: But if you want to call me Captain, that's fine.
- 2:07Speaker 5: Oh my gosh. So first question everybody wants to know
- 2:11Speaker 5: is are you single?
- 2:12Speaker 4: Yes? Very much single? Yes.
- 2:14Speaker 5: Is it hard to have a relationship if you're out
- 2:16Speaker 5: at sea?
- 2:18Speaker 4: Definitely, That's probably one of the major things. I had
- 2:21Speaker 4: a beautiful daughter ten years ago. Her name is Saska,
- 2:26Speaker 4: and you're away all the time, and as a captain,
- 2:30Speaker 4: you're probably await ten months of the year, and the
- 2:32Speaker 4: two months that you are on you're on the phone
- 2:34Speaker 4: as well, so you are detached. As much as this
- 2:37Speaker 4: industry is fun when you're young, you don't foresee what
- 2:41Speaker 4: it really does bring later in life, and that is
- 2:44Speaker 4: a family and away from them.
- 2:46Speaker 5: So do you feel like this is a sustainable job
- 2:48Speaker 5: because you don't have much of a personal life?
- 2:52Speaker 4: A good question. A good question is like a lot
- 2:55Speaker 4: of those flying flyout jobs in the minds and stuff,
- 2:58Speaker 4: I hear a lot of stories, you know, you know,
- 3:03Speaker 4: mothers or single parents, you know, trying to raise their
- 3:07Speaker 4: children and the other parent coming in and out. You know,
- 3:11Speaker 4: But we have to earn a book, you know. Yeah.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Yeah. Do you like forty three year old divorces.
- 3:19Speaker 5: She's speaking for herself, three and a half.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Children who have traumatic divorces in the public eye.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Is that like something you're.
- 3:28Speaker 5: Say, they know, Jason, say no, I think.
- 3:31Speaker 4: I was manifesting that a hot mess?
- 3:33Speaker 5: Yeah, oh yes, well great, jas, let me introduce you
- 3:39Speaker 5: to the biggest hot mess, and I know that'd be
- 3:41Speaker 5: Teddy Mellencamp.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Timer Judge's co host and pretty much the one that's
- 3:49Speaker 3: going to ask all the shitty questions.
- 3:50Speaker 5: I feel like every time I do believe that we
- 3:53Speaker 5: met at Bravo Khan briefly, I feel like every time
- 3:56Speaker 5: your name is brought up, it's all about how hot
- 3:59Speaker 5: you are and what Bravo celebrity you know was going
- 4:02Speaker 5: to date you and things like that, like do you
- 4:05Speaker 5: ever get sick of it? Like, no, I don't want
- 4:06Speaker 5: to date any bravoelebrities.
- 4:08Speaker 4: Look if you if you know who I am, it
- 4:10Speaker 4: definitely is not me. And a lot of that was
- 4:13Speaker 4: brought on by Asia previous on Watch What Happens Live.
- 4:16Speaker 4: She brought up what was that.
- 4:20Speaker 5: Brought that up?
- 4:21Speaker 3: Yeah, oh that he said I don't want to date
- 4:23Speaker 3: Bravo celebrities.
- 4:25Speaker 4: No say that I ever said that. I just said,
- 4:28Speaker 4: it wasn't It's not me. It's like I wasn't. It
- 4:31Speaker 4: was brought up by Asia and a joke, and it
- 4:33Speaker 4: kind of just it just went into this big thing
- 4:35Speaker 4: and yeah, I'm definitely Yeah, it's cringe worthy sometimes.
- 4:40Speaker 5: Yeah, I was going to ask you if you're doing
- 4:42Speaker 5: any of the dating app apps like raya Hinge, but
- 4:44Speaker 5: it's kind of hard to get dates out in the
- 4:46Speaker 5: middle of the ocean.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, well we heard that you went on a
- 4:53Speaker 2: date with Luyanne.
- 4:54Speaker 3: How'd that go?
- 4:55Speaker 5: No, I didn't want to that's a ru.
- 5:00Speaker 4: None of all that happened. And oh that's.
- 5:03Speaker 5: Good to know. We'll clear it up here. Jason never
- 5:06Speaker 5: dated Luan.
- 5:07Speaker 4: I'm a clean skin, a clean skin, none of I'm fresh.
- 5:15Speaker 4: I'm ready to go.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Hold on, So what is the Luanne story?
- 5:20Speaker 1: Now?
- 5:21Speaker 4: There is zero There is zero meta. Once at back
- 5:23Speaker 4: of Bravocon I got introduced to and that's it.
- 5:26Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I figured it was something like that.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Why are we fighting?
- 5:33Speaker 5: Season three? A blow duck down Under Airs February third.
- 5:38Speaker 5: Congratulations you are leading the charge again this season. How
- 5:42Speaker 5: are you feeling after filming the season?
- 5:45Speaker 4: Look, I'm excited for this one. It is in the Seychelles,
- 5:48Speaker 4: it's in Africa. I know that's a little bit weird
- 5:51Speaker 4: because it's down People say what happened to down Under?
- 5:54Speaker 4: But Australia hasn't got many cruising grounds and the logistics
- 5:57Speaker 4: of the show require certain things like close to a marina.
- 6:01Speaker 4: You've got a big support team behind you, so we
- 6:04Speaker 4: had to choose somewhere else. And I love being remote.
- 6:06Speaker 4: I've spent ten years driving around remote locations and I
- 6:10Speaker 4: actually like diversity. So it's going to give the viewers. Okay,
- 6:15Speaker 4: it's not Australia, but it is down Under. It's down
- 6:17Speaker 4: under the equator, and I'm down under the water a lot,
- 6:20Speaker 4: so it's got a little bit of that and I'm
- 6:22Speaker 4: from down Under.
- 6:23Speaker 5: Really, I would have never known.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Who would have thought thought, what is your favorite part
- 6:31Speaker 2: about about doing this entire experience? Like is it connecting
- 6:36Speaker 2: with the people on the yacht or is it about
- 6:39Speaker 2: like just being in the water.
- 6:41Speaker 3: What is it for you?
- 6:42Speaker 4: That's a that's a great question. I My favorite bit
- 6:46Speaker 4: is how much it is hard. A lot of people
- 6:50Speaker 4: don't understand that how hard this job is. Not just
- 6:56Speaker 4: being a captain, but to put all these elements together,
- 6:59Speaker 4: walking up to a boat that you don't know and
- 7:02Speaker 4: being introduced to crew that you've never met, and the
- 7:05Speaker 4: food coming on the next day, and then the charter
- 7:07Speaker 4: gets going on for six or six weeks straight. That's
- 7:11Speaker 4: nine charters we do in six weeks. We usually only
- 7:14Speaker 4: do probably a maximum of eight charters per season over
- 7:17Speaker 4: five months. We're doing nine charters in six weeks. It
- 7:21Speaker 4: is a pressure cooker and for what I've got out
- 7:25Speaker 4: of it. I've actually had to bring in every tool
- 7:28Speaker 4: that I've got to try and get through it mentally
- 7:31Speaker 4: and for me to actually come out at the end
- 7:33Speaker 4: and maintain my composure, and also the friendships that I've
- 7:40Speaker 4: got out of the crew, but also the people behind
- 7:42Speaker 4: the scenes too. I've actually fallen in love with a
- 7:45Speaker 4: lot of people that work behind the scenes. They are
- 7:48Speaker 4: very supportive. They've got my back, they've got the crewise back,
- 7:53Speaker 4: and they're just like us too. The film crew, the
- 7:55Speaker 4: sound crew, the producers. They're working hard, they're working away
- 7:58Speaker 4: from home. They're doing a lot of things that I
- 8:00Speaker 4: relate to. They're away from their homes. They're trying to
- 8:03Speaker 4: create something for an end for someone else to actually
- 8:06Speaker 4: to see. And that's what I do for a living.
- 8:09Speaker 5: How long How long does it take to film a season?
- 8:12Speaker 4: Nine weeks? We do six weeks, We do well pretty quick. Yeah. Yeah,
- 8:17Speaker 4: it's not it's back to back. That's the ingredients of
- 8:21Speaker 4: this show. It's it's hard work, fatigue, and that's the
- 8:27Speaker 4: pressure cooker that gets the results to bring out the show.
- 8:32Speaker 4: The cracks of the crew, you know, the people come
- 8:34Speaker 4: in with the facade. This is how I'm going to behave,
- 8:37Speaker 4: This is what I'm going to perceive myself as. And
- 8:40Speaker 4: then they put about a week's worth of work in
- 8:42Speaker 4: and they're fatigued and they can't hide it, and they're
- 8:44Speaker 4: real person comes out or something that comes out that
- 8:48Speaker 4: they look back at and go, well, I'm glad I
- 8:52Speaker 4: can change on that. And that's another good question to
- 8:54Speaker 4: add to the question you want. The best thing that's
- 8:56Speaker 4: come out of it is my parents, who have watched
- 8:59Speaker 4: me crew around the world for two and a half decades,
- 9:02Speaker 4: never really know what I've done now actually watched me
- 9:06Speaker 4: on TV.
- 9:06Speaker 5: Yeah, and your daughter as well.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, she's getting glimpses on YouTube. But yeah, does did.
- 9:11Speaker 5: Your daughter ever go out to see with you?
- 9:15Speaker 4: She has back in the past when she was younger,
- 9:16Speaker 4: she can't really remember that I have taken her places
- 9:19Speaker 4: when she was a little baby, or the crew used
- 9:21Speaker 4: to grab her. And that's kind of why I fell
- 9:23Speaker 4: in love with the Philippines and move there as well,
- 9:26Speaker 4: because I had some booking her crew, and as soon
- 9:28Speaker 4: as I had my daughter on board when she was
- 9:30Speaker 4: a baby, they just stole her and took her away
- 9:32Speaker 4: and and then just looked after it.
- 9:34Speaker 5: I've never been to Philippines. I'd love to we hear that.
- 9:37Speaker 5: This season has a lot of first a first time
- 9:40Speaker 5: destination for the franchise, as well as traveling on the
- 9:43Speaker 5: largest vessel in the below Deck franchise. How big is
- 9:46Speaker 5: this vessel and how much does it cost?
- 9:51Speaker 4: Look, this is one of the biggest A sixty and
- 9:52Speaker 4: sixty meters, So what's that in feet times by three?
- 9:55Speaker 4: So two hundred and ninety foot and it's it's it's
- 10:01Speaker 4: a big boat. It's a big boat interior wise as well.
- 10:04Speaker 4: It's not just the decks. It's got a lot of interiors.
- 10:06Speaker 4: So it's a lot of work for the internet.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Can you compare it to like Jeff Bezos what we're
- 10:10Speaker 2: seeing when he is like pictured by pop arazzi liket
- 10:14Speaker 2: like this?
- 10:15Speaker 4: Yeah? Like that? Like that?
- 10:17Speaker 3: Okay, I needed the comparison.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Yeah, probably where he's flag pole is. That's about the
- 10:22Speaker 4: size all.
- 10:27Speaker 2: You talked about Ayesha? How is it without her this season?
- 10:31Speaker 4: That's obviously I miss her. We got on so well,
- 10:34Speaker 4: We had a great couple of years together and but
- 10:37Speaker 4: she had a story to tell. She started in the
- 10:40Speaker 4: Mediterranean as a steward s She came to me as
- 10:43Speaker 4: a chief stewardess. This is an opportunity for her to
- 10:46Speaker 4: go back to the Mediterranean where she started and prove
- 10:49Speaker 4: herself as a chief stewardess. And she gets on very well, Sandy,
- 10:53Speaker 4: and that's a that's a great opportunity for her to
- 10:55Speaker 4: crew move on. So this is a great opportunity.
- 10:58Speaker 5: Tell us about selling around the Africa. What was your
- 11:01Speaker 5: favorite part of it.
- 11:04Speaker 4: I'm an avid diver. I love diving. I'm a Paddy
- 11:06Speaker 4: Dive Ambassador for Paddy which is a certificate we use,
- 11:09Speaker 4: so I love getting under the water as much as
- 11:12Speaker 4: I can. And this was a unique place to go.
- 11:14Speaker 4: I was just in the Maldives diving with tiger sharks,
- 11:17Speaker 4: facing one of my fears not long ago. So I
- 11:22Speaker 4: love being in unique places and that's what I've spent
- 11:24Speaker 4: ten years being in remote places, really doing some great stuff.
- 11:28Speaker 4: And this is just another like it's a buck up
- 11:31Speaker 4: this thing for me, and I loved every minute of it.
- 11:33Speaker 4: There's one hundred and fifteen islands there. This show got
- 11:37Speaker 4: to take me there and for free, I got paid
- 11:40Speaker 4: and I had a great time there, so it was
- 11:42Speaker 4: really good.
- 11:55Speaker 2: How do you maintain your cool when the pressure gets
- 11:58Speaker 2: extreme in these situations.
- 12:01Speaker 4: I think my age has done that. I think confidence
- 12:04Speaker 4: and experience does that. Trust me, I had a decade
- 12:07Speaker 4: of not being that. You know, we all are, and
- 12:12Speaker 4: we you know, when I was I was a captain
- 12:14Speaker 4: at a young age, at twenty eight of a big boat,
- 12:16Speaker 4: one hundred and ten foot boat, and I really didn't
- 12:18Speaker 4: know what I was doing for a long time and
- 12:20Speaker 4: had to train myself and through those times. My lack
- 12:22Speaker 4: of confidence experience does come out in blaming other people
- 12:25Speaker 4: or or you know, a high vocal tone towards things,
- 12:30Speaker 4: you know, to try and project my dominance or you know,
- 12:33Speaker 4: my captain you know, assertion. But then when you get
- 12:37Speaker 4: you get older and you've gone through experience and you've
- 12:39Speaker 4: got confidence, then you realize that, okay, a lot more
- 12:43Speaker 4: empathy comes through. Yeah, I can just wait for things
- 12:47Speaker 4: like the world's not going to change if we don't.
- 12:50Speaker 4: You know, I've got the ability, and that's Look, that's
- 12:54Speaker 4: a big thing us captains or crew, mainly captains, if
- 12:58Speaker 4: we don't jump up and down, you know, rub our
- 13:01Speaker 4: stomach and pad our head. You know, there's two three
- 13:03Speaker 4: hundred captains waiting for your job and they do have
- 13:06Speaker 4: us on a on a tight string like puppets, and
- 13:10Speaker 4: it takes a while to get to that point. There
- 13:11Speaker 4: you go, well, there's better things in life than saying
- 13:16Speaker 4: yes all the time for things that just can't happen.
- 13:18Speaker 4: So as time goes on, you get to that point
- 13:22Speaker 4: that you know the world's going to turn with or
- 13:24Speaker 4: without you.
- 13:25Speaker 3: How do you and new chiefs do Lara get along?
- 13:29Speaker 4: Look, she was a great addition. As I said, I
- 13:32Speaker 4: miss Asia. They're two different, two different people, and no
- 13:36Speaker 4: one's the same Asia Asia. Lara has a lot of
- 13:41Speaker 4: experience as a chief stewardess. She brought that into it.
- 13:44Speaker 4: I was excited for to bring that level of service up.
- 13:46Speaker 4: But she didn't know the environment like Asia did too.
- 13:49Speaker 4: And Asia knows her boundaries as well. She knows her
- 13:52Speaker 4: flaws and and and like like most like when you
- 13:57Speaker 4: go when you go to a restaurant, you know and
- 13:59Speaker 4: some is not that great, but they've got that persona
- 14:02Speaker 4: and they've got that ability and then you connect with them.
- 14:04Speaker 4: That's Asha. So she knows her boundaries and when she doesn't,
- 14:07Speaker 4: she beats it with her charisma, and that is more
- 14:10Speaker 4: valuable in most points than anything else. And when Lara
- 14:13Speaker 4: came in and she wanted to get she wants to
- 14:14Speaker 4: give her one hundred percent. I think you'll see in
- 14:17Speaker 4: the episodes coming up that she really wants to try hard.
- 14:20Speaker 4: She doesn't know the environment and she's a fish out
- 14:22Speaker 4: of water. And good luck to casting because they've done
- 14:25Speaker 4: a great job. It's it's gonna get a good stuff.
- 14:28Speaker 5: Now, you described the season as dramatic, wet, and emotional.
- 14:32Speaker 5: Can you further explain?
- 14:34Speaker 4: Well, I think when you see episode one, you're going
- 14:37Speaker 4: to see how the drama's going to unfold, and it's
- 14:41Speaker 4: not it's genuine drama. It's work relation drama. It's actually
- 14:45Speaker 4: real what we want below the deck, the crew they're
- 14:48Speaker 4: working together so that it's going to be genuine people
- 14:53Speaker 4: trying to work together in these pressure cooker cooker environments.
- 14:57Speaker 4: Wet is me under the water, I suppose, because I
- 15:02Speaker 4: won't go anywhere else in that.
- 15:03Speaker 3: It's Bravo And.
- 15:07Speaker 4: Yeah, what was that one? What else?
- 15:08Speaker 5: Did I You said? Dramatic, wet and emotional, emotional?
- 15:13Speaker 4: Yeah, look, there's always a few tears. There's always a
- 15:16Speaker 4: few tears throughout the season.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Now do you cry?
- 15:19Speaker 4: Yeah? I have one every year. I let it out.
- 15:21Speaker 4: There's a moment that I am.
- 15:22Speaker 5: Oh you're emotional. I love that.
- 15:25Speaker 4: You can't keep it up all the time. You've got
- 15:27Speaker 4: to give it to some You've got to let it
- 15:28Speaker 4: out and then you can move on with it. I can't,
- 15:31Speaker 4: you know. I have my little internal thing going on
- 15:34Speaker 4: every season. It's like it's a pressure cooker job. So yeah,
- 15:39Speaker 4: I have my little moment. Was usually every season I've
- 15:42Speaker 4: had a little cabin moment And yep, Okay.
- 15:45Speaker 2: As a boss, are you more diragged or are you
- 15:48Speaker 2: more passive aggressive?
- 15:51Speaker 4: I would rather it's easier. It's easier in my life
- 15:57Speaker 4: now too. I can see the train wreck happening, you know,
- 16:00Speaker 4: I can see it happening very early, and it's easier
- 16:04Speaker 4: for me to sit back and let people be themselves
- 16:07Speaker 4: and give them advice. Look, they're all adults, and one
- 16:12Speaker 4: thing I've learned about being a captain is try try
- 16:15Speaker 4: not to be their father, you know, father all the time,
- 16:18Speaker 4: you know, all their boss all the time. Be their
- 16:19Speaker 4: friend as well. And I work on that manner and
- 16:23Speaker 4: try and support. Look, I can't get there without them,
- 16:27Speaker 4: you know, and me trying to actually me trying to
- 16:30Speaker 4: actually say this is what you have to do. Rather
- 16:33Speaker 4: than let people bring something to the table, it just
- 16:36Speaker 4: takes away anyone's ability to grow. So it's actually see
- 16:39Speaker 4: what people see what people can bring to the table.
- 16:42Speaker 4: And I say that with a lot of crew too,
- 16:44Speaker 4: Like someone might be unique, you might not get on
- 16:48Speaker 4: well with them, But why are they unique? And learn
- 16:50Speaker 4: out where they're from and get to know them. We're
- 16:53Speaker 4: living in this environment where people don't have to be
- 16:56Speaker 4: like what you think. You know, everyone's different, find out
- 17:01Speaker 4: why they're unique and and and find that in enduring,
- 17:05Speaker 4: admirable and get to know them and you might be friends.
- 17:08Speaker 4: And that's what I want at the end of the year,
- 17:10Speaker 4: is everyone at the end of the season, everyone just
- 17:12Speaker 4: to you know, walk away from this and have a
- 17:14Speaker 4: good time, because it's a moment in life that you
- 17:16Speaker 4: should cherish.
- 17:17Speaker 5: And the trailer we see romantic relationships farming, even referring
- 17:21Speaker 5: to the ship as love boat. How do you feel
- 17:24Speaker 5: about the crew dating each other?
- 17:27Speaker 4: Look at they're they're long seasons in our industry. Also,
- 17:33Speaker 4: people have to you know, you have to have those relationships.
- 17:37Speaker 4: You know, why not if if they're if if two
- 17:42Speaker 4: people can understand that this may not work out, but
- 17:45Speaker 4: we still have to work together. That's that's a life
- 17:48Speaker 4: lesson too. So you know, if they can work that out,
- 17:53Speaker 4: then you know, you can probably learn to be friends
- 17:56Speaker 4: with your exes later on in life, you know, or
- 17:58Speaker 4: you know, if you have something with someone else that
- 18:01Speaker 4: you can actually you don't have to, you know, dismiss
- 18:03Speaker 4: them from your life. You know, you should be able
- 18:05Speaker 4: to work in environment. And these things happened, and they
- 18:08Speaker 4: happened genuinely, and if they don't work out, then we
- 18:10Speaker 4: still move on as workmates and.
- 18:12Speaker 5: Friends, but it could cause problems. Have you ever caught
- 18:16Speaker 5: a crew member being intimate?
- 18:19Speaker 4: Have I, evern caught one being intimate? No? No, I think, yeah,
- 18:22Speaker 4: I don't need to see that.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Is it hard to have sex on a boat?
- 18:29Speaker 4: Well, there's a you don't have to do much work
- 18:31Speaker 4: the boat.
- 18:31Speaker 5: It's a motion of the ocean.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Right.
- 18:48Speaker 5: How are your guests this season? Any like difficult ones,
- 18:51Speaker 5: anyones you want to throw overboard?
- 18:54Speaker 4: We we had some We had some guests come in
- 18:57Speaker 4: at that at the right time. We had some drama
- 19:00Speaker 4: coming up throughout the season. We had to get through
- 19:03Speaker 4: that you'll be looking forward to and then bang out
- 19:07Speaker 4: of nowhere, just I remember this group came in and
- 19:09Speaker 4: it was exactly what we needed at the right time,
- 19:11Speaker 4: just to pick everyone else up. And that's I can't
- 19:14Speaker 4: wait for that season. But look, I'm in touch with
- 19:16Speaker 4: a lot of the charter guests still that have been on.
- 19:18Speaker 4: They've really enjoyed their moment, they appreciate it, they're looking
- 19:21Speaker 4: forward to it. Yeah, we generally had some wonderful people
- 19:25Speaker 4: that brought a lot to the party.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Well, we heard you're having some drama with the Sioux chef, Anthony.
- 19:31Speaker 2: What's the deal with that?
- 19:34Speaker 4: This? Look, first time Below Decks had a sous chef.
- 19:37Speaker 4: It's a big boat. It could afford to have another
- 19:40Speaker 4: crew member. It's just another added drama to bring into
- 19:44Speaker 4: the scene. Boats that size do have sous chefs. There's
- 19:47Speaker 4: a lot of work for the chef, and it gives
- 19:49Speaker 4: the chef an opportunity to manage someone. And now Serena's
- 19:55Speaker 4: a great chef, She's always in her own head a lot,
- 19:58Speaker 4: so this was just another added fuel to the fire
- 20:02Speaker 4: down there. It's for her to manage and and look,
- 20:05Speaker 4: I'm looking forward to seeing how that turns out.
- 20:08Speaker 1: He was.
- 20:10Speaker 4: Look, as you've seen, you've probably seen episode one and
- 20:13Speaker 4: all you will see in episode one. Yeah, he's probably
- 20:17Speaker 4: got he's got a lot of talent. Well, he thinks
- 20:19Speaker 4: he does. And there's more to being.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Oh he thinks he does. The shade.
- 20:26Speaker 4: Well, there's a lot to learn. There's a lot to
- 20:28Speaker 4: learn about this, about this, about this franchise, I'm sorry
- 20:31Speaker 4: about blow be working on blow Deck itself. It's it's
- 20:33Speaker 4: your own unique environment as well, and it's it's it's different,
- 20:38Speaker 4: very much like Lara coming in and giving her usual
- 20:42Speaker 4: requirements of how things would be set out this this
- 20:47Speaker 4: franchise or below deck, this show. Nothing set out. You're
- 20:51Speaker 4: you're you're gonna You're on the fly, and and that
- 20:54Speaker 4: upsets you because you've got to put it together. Me
- 20:57Speaker 4: as a captain, I'm going to put the crew in
- 20:58Speaker 4: the boat together, chef. They have to actually put the
- 21:00Speaker 4: provisions the food coming in and then the next minute
- 21:03Speaker 4: they get the provision sheets on what to eat and
- 21:05Speaker 4: the guests change it up and everything's on the fly.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Not many people are used to that, and that is
- 21:11Speaker 4: part of the ingredient that actually makes it a good shot.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Without giving anything away, what the audience be most shocked
- 21:18Speaker 2: by this season?
- 21:19Speaker 4: Oh, good question, shocked. Well, I think you've seen one
- 21:26Speaker 4: of the trailers Attender attended being beached on an island,
- 21:32Speaker 4: and one of the support vessel that we use, it's
- 21:36Speaker 4: on one of the trailers and it's actually beached on
- 21:39Speaker 4: an island. And that was one of the probably the
- 21:41Speaker 4: biggest moments where I'm just like, what the hell? This
- 21:44Speaker 4: could not happen. So I won't go into the actual episode.
- 21:49Speaker 5: And how many seasons have you been on Bravo?
- 21:51Speaker 4: This is the third one. This is the third one.
- 21:54Speaker 5: So and you're enjoying it.
- 21:56Speaker 4: I love it. I wasn't even thinking I'd get to three.
- 21:58Speaker 4: I was in Australia. I was on my way to
- 22:00Speaker 4: South America on a boat. I had a wonderful time
- 22:03Speaker 4: working for an American family. I can't mention that I
- 22:06Speaker 4: wish I could, because we did some wonderful work. They
- 22:08Speaker 4: could not come to the boat through logistic reasons and
- 22:12Speaker 4: political reasons. But we actually cruised around Papua New Guinea
- 22:15Speaker 4: and we found some hospitals. We rebuilt those hospitals with
- 22:19Speaker 4: water and lighting. We found schools. We go back all
- 22:23Speaker 4: with these people's money, and they loved it. They wanted
- 22:25Speaker 4: us to keep doing more and that's what I did
- 22:27Speaker 4: for many years. And then I was on my way
- 22:29Speaker 4: to South America. I got car to Australia. Then COVID
- 22:32Speaker 4: happened and I was stuck in Australia for two years.
- 22:35Speaker 4: I didn't see my daughter. And then after two years,
- 22:38Speaker 4: I was trying to get out. I was trying to
- 22:39Speaker 4: leave the boat. I need to go home and see
- 22:41Speaker 4: my daughter. And then this came up at the end
- 22:43Speaker 4: of the COVID and I thought, okay, I'll do it,
- 22:46Speaker 4: and I did it, didn't think anything of it, went
- 22:49Speaker 4: to see my daughter, spent a year with her. They
- 22:52Speaker 4: asked me to come back. I did another one. I thought, okay,
- 22:55Speaker 4: I'm going to spend more time with my daughter, and
- 22:58Speaker 4: I did another season and next minute we did a
- 23:02Speaker 4: third season. So if anything, I missed out of my
- 23:05Speaker 4: daughter's life from six to eight, but I've been with
- 23:08Speaker 4: her from eight till ten, and that's what it's and
- 23:12Speaker 4: I'm just taking every day as it comes. This moment,
- 23:14Speaker 4: I'm taking every season as it comes, because you know
- 23:18Speaker 4: what young girls are like. They're going to they're going
- 23:20Speaker 4: to leave at one stage.
- 23:22Speaker 5: Where are you right now?
- 23:24Speaker 4: I'm in La I live in they live in Bali.
- 23:27Speaker 4: There she goes to school in Bali and she grew
- 23:30Speaker 4: up in the Philippines. She has this like very Filipino
- 23:34Speaker 4: empathetic heart. She wants to get and look after people.
- 23:38Speaker 4: She's such a gorgeous little girl and she's very unique.
- 23:41Speaker 4: She wants to be herself and she doesn't. She cares about.
- 23:44Speaker 5: Everything and super sweet. Okay, Captain Jason, thank you so much.
- 23:49Speaker 5: Where can people find you on social media?
- 23:52Speaker 4: On my Instagram obviously, Captain j Chambers. I have a
- 23:56Speaker 4: website coming up, the Captain's Lounge that'll be out. I
- 23:59Speaker 4: got a freightagrance which is being launched next month as well.
- 24:03Speaker 5: And where can we get that.
- 24:04Speaker 4: It's Captain j And it's me in a bottle, really
- 24:07Speaker 4: my my travels and everything, and it really it's got.
- 24:11Speaker 4: It's got a woody smell, it's gender neutral, it's it's
- 24:15Speaker 4: got that. It's to me. It's the the ocean and
- 24:18Speaker 4: it's the waterfalls, and it's nature and it's me and
- 24:21Speaker 4: and I get our great reviews of it, and I'm
- 24:25Speaker 4: looking forward to it and a lot of things that
- 24:27Speaker 4: I'll be doing online will be and selling online in
- 24:30Speaker 4: the future. We'll be going back to a project that
- 24:32Speaker 4: I work with, which is the Classic Room of Hope
- 24:34Speaker 4: and stuff like that. We build, we rebuild schools. We're
- 24:38Speaker 4: working with another foundation. I took my daughter up there.
- 24:40Speaker 4: We give rise to the elderly in in Indonesia. We're
- 24:46Speaker 4: doing things with English tuition in Indonesia. I'll be moving
- 24:50Speaker 4: that to the Philippines at some stage. So a lot
- 24:52Speaker 4: of my everything I do on my platform, if you
- 24:55Speaker 4: look at it, is me just sounding out things that
- 25:01Speaker 4: for us to give back. I'm not trying to sell
- 25:03Speaker 4: sell much at all. I don't try and sell much
- 25:05Speaker 4: at all. It's it's my life and my appreciation for
- 25:08Speaker 4: this platform to help other people. And you look at
- 25:12Speaker 4: it and you'll see that you're.
- 25:13Speaker 3: Amazing your fragrance.
- 25:15Speaker 4: I love you too. You've got nice a nice little test.
- 25:18Speaker 4: I thought I was going to going to see you
- 25:20Speaker 4: in person today, so I bought you a nice little
- 25:21Speaker 4: five mil time.
- 25:22Speaker 5: Oh we should.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Oh no, I'm in a camper and palm springs and camera.
- 25:26Speaker 5: I'm at home.
- 25:30Speaker 3: But below.
- 25:31Speaker 5: Doc Under Season three premieres on Monday, February third at
- 25:35Speaker 5: eight pm. So guys, make sure you tune in. We
