- 2:18Hello, and welcome back to the show, everybody.
- 2:21My name is Will Walden. I'm your host.
- 2:23And today we're going to be talking about space X and the
- 2:26starlink mission. This mission was successful so
- 2:31far. They launched this morning in
- 2:349:46 a.m. This is from the space launch
- 2:39complex, 40 at Cape, Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida and
- 2:44it was on a Falcon 9 rocket. There were 60 starlink
- 2:50satellites onboard and these startling satellites.
- 2:55They're going to be beaming super fast.
- 2:59High speed satellite internet across the globe.
- 3:03That's what starlink is all about.
- 3:05It's a satellite internet provider by SpaceX, in the
- 3:11reason why they're doing starlink is because they need to
- 3:13make money in order to do the other cool things that they want
- 3:17to do like Starship and Starship is going to be spacex's future.
- 3:23They'll be able to launch a satellite constellations with
- 3:26Starling or with the Starship. They'll also be able to Ferry
- 3:31people from the earth tours, any place in the solar system
- 3:35basically. This will be a human rated / set
- 3:39alight. Rated rocket, they can do so
- 3:42many things and starlink is the way they're going to make
- 3:45billions of dollars because they need a commercial operation in
- 3:49order to make that money. So this Falcon 9 that was
- 3:56launched today. Supported the Iridium 7 sow,
- 4:00com1, a and nusantara saw two missions.
- 4:05Earlier on, so these this thing is already flown in.
- 4:08This is the fourth flight. The fairing was previously.
- 4:12Flown on Falcon Heavies, are obsessed 680 Mission earlier
- 4:15this year and that's the first time that they're going to be
- 4:18doing a fearing re-fly. So after the stage separation,
- 4:24they landed Falcons. First stage on, of course, I
- 4:28still love you drone ship and that's in the Atlantic Ocean.
- 4:33And 45 minutes after liftoff. The recovery vessels for the
- 4:38fairings mystery and Miz Chief tempted to recover, the to
- 4:43fairings. These satellites deployed in an
- 4:49altitude of 280 kilometers and that's prior to the orbit rays,
- 4:55which SpaceX Engineers will conduct data reviews.
- 4:58To ensure all starlink satellites are operating as
- 5:01intended. And once those checkouts are
- 5:03complete, the satellites will then use their onboard ion
- 5:07thrusters to move into their intended orbits.
- 5:11And these are low orbits, basically They need to have low
- 5:18orbit, so your device, whatever your device is, can ping the
- 5:24satellite faster than if it's in a higher orbit.
- 5:29So, the latency will be lower if it's in a low orbit.
- 5:35So the cool thing about starlink, let me kind of back up
- 5:38here, is that? If you're in a rural area,
- 5:42you'll be able to get a super high speed connection to the
- 5:48internet, pretty easily. You'll need something about the
- 5:52size of a pizza box. Pretty much like in your yard,
- 5:56or on your on the roof of your house or wherever they're going
- 5:59to start deploying these things. And that will be in the signal
- 6:03from your device to that pizza box, thing up into orbit to the
- 6:07satellite, which beams the signal, all over the place, and
- 6:11gets you, the information that you need and it gets you, the
- 6:14data that you need. Check your email Facebook,
- 6:17Twitter, check out space news, pod.com or my Twitter feed at
- 6:23space news pod, that would be a pretty cool or download these
- 6:26podcasts super fast. So watch movies super fast too.
- 6:31To really cool stuff out there that you can watch if you had a
- 6:35super high-speed internet connection. 4K HD will be very,
- 6:41very useful with high-speed. So here's a kind of a cool
- 6:45thing. What I was talking about
- 6:47Starship earlier and Elon Musk and SpaceX was they were talking
- 6:54about this before there were talking about Starship landing
- 6:58on the moon. And in the next couple months
- 7:02that couple weeks actually Starship will be doing some test
- 7:05flights and they'll be doing some on the ground.
- 7:09Firings of their engines, making sure that everything works well
- 7:14and then if all that works good we're going to be seeing some,
- 7:20some flights of star. I keep getting mixing mixed up
- 7:24with the Starling a Starship where we going to be seeing some
- 7:27Starship launches this year. And early next year.
- 7:31Also, early next year SpaceX will be sending humans back to
- 7:36the International Space Station for the first time since the
- 7:39space shuttle. So how cool is that?
- 7:43Alright? So SpaceX has a lot of stuff
- 7:44going on and I'll make sure that, you know, everything about
- 7:48everything that SpaceX is doing on this podcast, so make sure to
- 7:53check it out. Make sure to hit that subscribe
- 7:54button. I really do appreciate all of
- 7:56your support and if you feel like it head on over to To your
- 8:00podcast provider and leave a review that really helps out the
- 8:03show a ton. So I want to say thank you so
- 8:06much for taking the time out of your day to spend it here with
- 8:08me. My name is Will Walden and I'll
- 8:11see you soon.
