- 0:19Speaker 1: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:23Speaker 3: The field goal kicker is stinks, I know, but.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Well, yeah, but that was a cover, right, But you
- 0:29Speaker 2: say that, But then they keep winning. They keep winning.
- 0:33Speaker 2: How they're doing last week? So what they're in the
- 0:35Speaker 2: playoffs and know they're not What do you mean they're not?
- 0:38Speaker 2: I do want to talk about the Drake May nickname.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Then the research and I understand how it started. I
- 0:43Speaker 2: like the reasoning.
- 0:44Speaker 3: I literally explained it to you last week.
- 0:46Speaker 4: Matter why are you laughing sixteen minutes without had the exers.
- 0:52Speaker 2: So Paul wants to do nicknames. I've got tons of
- 0:55Speaker 2: them here, Drake O. This person's writing in the force
- 0:59Speaker 2: Delete your Day.
- 1:00Speaker 5: I for the nickname, and it came up with the
- 1:02Speaker 5: humble Howitzer.
- 1:02Speaker 4: I agree, it's friend.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Now, but the nickname ill way, Drake May May the way?
- 1:07Speaker 2: The way?
- 1:07Speaker 1: Are you going to continue this tomorrow on Catch twenty?
- 1:09Speaker 6: Yeah? This is Patriots.
- 1:11Speaker 4: Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website. For deals, buy a
- 1:15Speaker 4: Toyota Dot.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Com All right, welcome back to Patriots Unfiltered. If you
- 1:22Speaker 2: were here yesterday, of course, it is Wednesday, New Year's
- 1:27Speaker 2: Eve here at Jillette Stadium, and we're getting ready for
- 1:31Speaker 2: the Miami Dolphins Sunday at four twenty five.
- 1:35Speaker 6: Uh.
- 1:36Speaker 2: And lots to talk about here regarding football and nicknames. Well,
- 1:43Speaker 2: we're not going to get into that again, although I
- 1:45Speaker 2: still still getting emails about that, but we'll talk about
- 1:49Speaker 2: the Miami game coming up.
- 1:50Speaker 4: As if you've read them and there was any one
- 1:53Speaker 4: that was any good, you would.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Have nodded to the exactly to you. Okay, nothing, nothing notable,
- 2:00Speaker 2: But we'll talk about all the implications of the game
- 2:02Speaker 2: and likely scenarios and all that stuff. As we all know,
- 2:07Speaker 2: the Patriots are the AFC East champs and guaranteed in
- 2:11Speaker 2: the playoffs. Now it's just a question of are they
- 2:13Speaker 2: going to play in Wildcard Week? Are they going to
- 2:17Speaker 2: have a buy which percentages are low, but you know
- 2:21Speaker 2: you can you can still hold out hope for the
- 2:23Speaker 2: Charges to beat the Broncos and then do they If not,
- 2:28Speaker 2: do they hold on to the two seed. Lowest they
- 2:32Speaker 2: can drop down to is the third seed?
- 2:33Speaker 4: Right? Yeah? Yeah, but I do think that's important to
- 2:37Speaker 4: hold to hold onto the two seed and at least
- 2:40Speaker 4: give yourself the chance for those two home games.
- 2:42Speaker 2: It's happened before, you know, when they were the two
- 2:45Speaker 2: seed that year Denver got knocked off and all of
- 2:48Speaker 2: a sudden, you've got the AFC Championship game here was
- 2:53Speaker 2: it a letter fox?
- 2:54Speaker 4: But I'm just talking about the divisional round. I want
- 2:56Speaker 4: that divisional round to be a home game. Sure, if
- 2:58Speaker 4: you're the two seed and you happen to make it
- 3:00Speaker 4: to the Division A round, it's at home. It's guaranteed.
- 3:03Speaker 4: You don't have to worry about what other teams do
- 3:05Speaker 4: you host.
- 3:06Speaker 7: I mean, I if it didn't work out though, and
- 3:08Speaker 7: this team had to go to Jacksonville Road Warriors Road Warriors,
- 3:14Speaker 7: there's a weird confidence in Drake and warm weather climates.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Now for me that I don't it's valid. It is
- 3:19Speaker 4: a valid point. I don't want to go to anywhere,
- 3:22Speaker 4: but if I don't have to, rather rather host it,
- 3:25Speaker 4: stay home.
- 3:25Speaker 1: What's last time Jacksonville hosted a playoff game.
- 3:27Speaker 3: That they hosted that that Chargers come back?
- 3:30Speaker 1: They hosted that one. I think so, yeah, two years ago.
- 3:33Speaker 7: People in the pool, you know, are doing down there,
- 3:36Speaker 7: get out of here in Jacksonville.
- 3:38Speaker 4: I know, right, absolutely taken away in the last couple
- 3:45Speaker 4: of years.
- 3:46Speaker 2: I like it now.
- 3:47Speaker 7: It was restored yesterday when I was on Patriots All Access,
- 3:51Speaker 7: the flagship show.
- 3:52Speaker 2: He just can't help himself called.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Can I share it? Can I share a little story time?
- 3:57Speaker 8: Though?
- 3:58Speaker 7: I had this FOREV and I meant to tell him
- 3:59Speaker 7: off air, but I'll share it because it's it's pretty embarrassing.
- 4:02Speaker 6: So I got to do.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Also, I know this isn't about this, but the Patriots
- 4:05Speaker 1: this week with Brian Hoyer, and it was funny.
- 4:09Speaker 7: So Bob Soci is the host, and it's me and
- 4:11Speaker 7: Hoyer and and you know, and so she just kind
- 4:12Speaker 7: of goes back and forth, is as Alex does on
- 4:14Speaker 7: our show. And uh and so we asked me a
- 4:16Speaker 7: question about the Digs touchdown of like, oh, it was
- 4:19Speaker 7: just like you know, the Danny m Mondola touchdown two
- 4:22Speaker 7: point conversion in the Super Bowl. You know, like, you know,
- 4:25Speaker 7: what have you seen from people coming back? You know,
- 4:27Speaker 7: from Josh coming back and stuff. And I'm like, you're
- 4:28Speaker 7: asking me.
- 4:29Speaker 1: This right now, you know, like you know, you Brian
- 4:31Speaker 1: were here.
- 4:31Speaker 7: It was like playing for him and I was like,
- 4:33Speaker 7: you know, so I kind of rambled on a little bit.
- 4:36Speaker 7: I didn't have a great answer, and then I was like, yeah,
- 4:38Speaker 7: you know, we even see some host duke as I
- 4:39Speaker 7: had to throw a little hoss duke and and I
- 4:41Speaker 7: kind of felt like I could feel like Brian Hoyer,
- 4:43Speaker 7: like audibly sighing, given a little like, oh.
- 4:46Speaker 4: Part of my soul just died right there, right. I
- 4:49Speaker 4: thought you were going to say, well, in full disclosure,
- 4:52Speaker 4: it was a fire a lot during the game on Sundays.
- 4:56Speaker 4: We actually didn't see that as true.
- 4:57Speaker 7: Probably not the best answer for television there, but you
- 5:00Speaker 7: know I had to I had to throw a.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Hots in the parking lot when that that touchdown happened.
- 5:04Speaker 9: Did you just sit in a car together?
- 5:06Speaker 6: Just now?
- 5:07Speaker 1: I sat in my car, They said they stood. I
- 5:09Speaker 1: was like trying to type and keep track of it, but.
- 5:11Speaker 4: That's what I was going to do.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Nobody had it on their phone. I had them.
- 5:15Speaker 4: I think I cared about the game was over at
- 5:17Speaker 4: that point. It wasn't really wasn't hovering around the fly
- 5:21Speaker 4: watching the game.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I'm not sure I saw that Dig's touchdown till the
- 5:23Speaker 1: next day.
- 5:25Speaker 4: Someone still hasn't seen it.
- 5:28Speaker 1: You know, it looked like the Danny A Mondola one
- 5:30Speaker 1: from Super Shield screen head.
- 5:33Speaker 4: I know exactly what happened.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Wasn't that the same play that uh, the Seahawks try
- 5:38Speaker 2: to run that we intercepted a little bit now, Malcolm Butler, that.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Ran a downfield adla thing was a screen adola playing.
- 5:47Speaker 3: The play that Digs caught a touchdown on was the
- 5:49Speaker 3: same exact play.
- 5:51Speaker 1: It's called a slant flat.
- 5:52Speaker 3: It's called a shield screen, shield screen. It's called a
- 5:54Speaker 3: shield screen.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Okay, So it just seemed like it was just a
- 5:58Speaker 2: quick slant off the line.
- 6:00Speaker 3: It's a screen similar, that's a screen pass. He's got
- 6:03Speaker 3: two guys in front of him blocking and then.
- 6:06Speaker 1: They shield him. Yeah, the potential crackers.
- 6:09Speaker 3: So all I gotta do is get it over the
- 6:10Speaker 3: goal line. So just put the two guys in front
- 6:13Speaker 3: of him, crow it to him quick.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Yeah, No, the the Seahawks players a pick the slant flat,
- 6:18Speaker 3: pick play, screen pick whatever.
- 6:22Speaker 4: Two different things, all right, slant on the screen are
- 6:24Speaker 4: two different things.
- 6:25Speaker 2: A screen could be a slant. He was slanting in
- 6:28Speaker 2: the angle of the angle of.
- 6:30Speaker 3: His today, not to day, going toward the goal.
- 6:34Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, I didn't see it, yeah, full the score
- 6:37Speaker 4: was not going toward the goal.
- 6:40Speaker 2: He slanted it and slanted and caught the ball. I
- 6:44Speaker 2: believe you. I believe you.
- 6:46Speaker 4: I didn't see Digson.
- 6:47Speaker 3: He wasn't slanting.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Are we talking about the same play?
- 6:50Speaker 3: Yeah, he caught the ball and he ran forward.
- 6:52Speaker 4: He only had one touchdown.
- 6:53Speaker 2: He basically what where was the play? What was the
- 6:57Speaker 2: line of scrimmage? Like the one or the two exactly?
- 7:00Speaker 2: So he basically turned and caught the ball right.
- 7:03Speaker 3: They threw the ball to him quickly. He caught it.
- 7:06Speaker 3: He took two steps and was in the end zone.
- 7:08Speaker 2: He was going toward the end zone when he caught it, right.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Like maybe he had his moment because he had a
- 7:14Speaker 3: little bit.
- 7:14Speaker 2: You were there. He had his back to us when
- 7:16Speaker 2: he caught the ball, right, He.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Had his back to us, Yes, in the press box.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Maybe because he was slanting in facing Drake May.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Okay, yes or no?
- 7:27Speaker 2: I don't what difference does it because because the direction
- 7:34Speaker 2: of the route was a slant.
- 7:36Speaker 3: You're right, I know him, right, I don't.
- 7:40Speaker 2: I don't care what you want to call it. Screen whatever.
- 7:42Speaker 2: He was slanting toward.
- 7:43Speaker 3: The goal on he was he was his momentum was
- 7:46Speaker 3: carrying him towards the I need to see it that that's.
- 7:49Speaker 1: What all slicing towards the goal.
- 7:52Speaker 4: I'm breaking out in hives, not being able to now
- 7:55Speaker 4: going to get into different types of slants.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Were talking about one step, now slam talking about a
- 8:00Speaker 3: three steps. This is what they're talking about.
- 8:03Speaker 2: This is what they do. They try to get you
- 8:05Speaker 2: on the tap.
- 8:05Speaker 4: All I can tell you is, I've heard a lot
- 8:07Speaker 4: of people say it was Thedola play the doola player.
- 8:09Speaker 4: I did see. I was at that Super Bowl. I
- 8:12Speaker 4: was there. I was That was not a slant. That
- 8:13Speaker 4: was a screen.
- 8:14Speaker 1: This was behind the line of scrimmage, right, well.
- 8:16Speaker 4: He was also kind of It's just like he might
- 8:19Speaker 4: be coming toward the ball, but he's not slanting upfield, right, wasn't.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I don't know what.
- 8:24Speaker 4: Diggs was doing. I didn't see it.
- 8:26Speaker 2: This was not behind the line of scrimmage. For one thing.
- 8:28Speaker 4: I can tell you that not behind the line of scrimmage.
- 8:32Speaker 4: That's not the way it's been described to me.
- 8:35Speaker 3: It was definitely the line.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Oh my god, Oh okay, all right, it was.
- 8:40Speaker 4: At the one yard all right, all right, we're doing this.
- 8:42Speaker 2: I guess we're doing this, all right.
- 8:48Speaker 3: I'm not even arguing.
- 8:49Speaker 2: I'm literally sitting next to you.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Not even arguing.
- 8:55Speaker 2: All right, well, that's good. We had something to argue about.
- 8:59Speaker 4: It was like, was it like a three yard past three?
- 9:01Speaker 4: Three years more than three? Yeah, so technically, I guess
- 9:05Speaker 4: we could have been planting.
- 9:07Speaker 2: The first thing, everybody. The first thing I thought about
- 9:11Speaker 2: it is, oh, Malcolm Butler play. That's the first thing
- 9:13Speaker 2: I thought.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Well, that's the wrong super Bowl play. This was the
- 9:17Speaker 3: Amadola two points, I know, but I said, the first
- 9:20Speaker 3: thing I thought about, well, those are two different plays.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Was the Malcolm but All similar.
- 9:27Speaker 6: I don't know, I don't know.
- 9:28Speaker 1: It's a slant flat.
- 9:32Speaker 3: I really wasn't trying to argue.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Sorry, I brought up host.
- 9:36Speaker 3: They'll do the slant tree a different day.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Okay, all right, listen, there is a slim possibility. I'm wrong,
- 9:46Speaker 2: but it's slim. It's always it is really slim.
- 9:50Speaker 3: I love it.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I love it. Okay, what else? What else?
- 9:54Speaker 6: What else?
- 9:55Speaker 4: Is New Year's Eve?
- 9:56Speaker 2: New Year's what's your patriots read.
- 10:03Speaker 4: This year?
- 10:03Speaker 9: We should talk about that.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Yeah, Alex, you strike me as a resolution person.
- 10:07Speaker 9: Last year I tried to give up cursing, Oh didn't work.
- 10:11Speaker 4: How long did that go?
- 10:12Speaker 9: Like a month?
- 10:14Speaker 4: You went a month without cursing. That's impressive.
- 10:18Speaker 6: I know.
- 10:19Speaker 4: I couldn't go an hour, my favorite. I couldn't make
- 10:21Speaker 4: it an hour. Maybe actually had money on the line
- 10:23Speaker 4: and couldn't make it.
- 10:24Speaker 9: It's difficult for me. I don't know why it's difficult
- 10:27Speaker 9: for me.
- 10:27Speaker 10: But like when we had that beginning of the year
- 10:29Speaker 10: of meeting with Rabel and he's apologizing for cursing in
- 10:32Speaker 10: front of me, and I'm like, you don't know me
- 10:34Speaker 10: that well.
- 10:36Speaker 2: The young bros these days throw out the F bomb
- 10:39Speaker 2: like it's just part of their their speech. I think
- 10:43Speaker 2: it's like nothing.
- 10:44Speaker 10: I think Bill Burr has a pretty funny bit where
- 10:46Speaker 10: like New England is the only place where the F
- 10:48Speaker 10: word can be a verb, a noun, and adjective, all
- 10:51Speaker 10: of it verb.
- 10:53Speaker 2: It's it's it's wild. Yeah. So if people want to
- 10:56Speaker 2: call right in with their New Year Patriots New Year's,
- 11:00Speaker 2: I don't. I don't want to hear about your personal ones.
- 11:02Speaker 2: I don't care. But this is about patriots, Okay, yeah, yeah,
- 11:07Speaker 2: I don't have one.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I just thought of it, think about it, just try
- 11:10Speaker 1: to be a little bit more positive about the team.
- 11:12Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, take after Paul. Yeah, positive Paul.
- 11:15Speaker 4: This year my new year's resolution or adjust by what's
- 11:18Speaker 4: happening on the field.
- 11:19Speaker 2: How my newest resolution is to make paula Patriots fan.
- 11:23Speaker 4: All I can tell you is when they go four
- 11:25Speaker 4: and thirteen, there's not a lot to be positive about.
- 11:27Speaker 4: Fred somehow did it for a whole two years straight.
- 11:30Speaker 4: But I couldn't do it when they go fourteen and three.
- 11:33Speaker 4: I don't need any prodding to be positive in the game.
- 11:36Speaker 9: It was a long couple of years.
- 11:38Speaker 4: We did well, Fred, We got through it, did we?
- 11:40Speaker 4: Fred did it.
- 11:43Speaker 6: Better than.
- 11:46Speaker 4: I bag dag Bob pulled it off.
- 11:48Speaker 2: I think I think probably a month or a month
- 11:52Speaker 2: and a half until last year I turned.
- 11:55Speaker 6: I turned.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I kind of saw the writing on the wall.
- 12:00Speaker 2: There's there's no redemption for this season, all right.
- 12:04Speaker 4: Was it the eighteen consecutive run place that Jacksonville ran
- 12:08Speaker 4: in London?
- 12:08Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 12:09Speaker 10: That was that was really okay, But real quick, for
- 12:11Speaker 10: the people that don't read the newsletter, we have end
- 12:14Speaker 10: of year superlatives for the show this year, like awards,
- 12:16Speaker 10: So like, let me actually just pull it up. Okay,
- 12:20Speaker 10: So this newsletter this week we will have the winners
- 12:24Speaker 10: of best argument, best bit, best caller, best call, best emailer,
- 12:32Speaker 10: best email, and best fretism.
- 12:34Speaker 2: I think I got it and I got a I
- 12:36Speaker 2: got a legitimate complaint about this that we should have
- 12:39Speaker 2: given people notice that we were going to do this early.
- 12:43Speaker 9: I just got last week.
- 12:46Speaker 2: So right, so for next year, we're going to do
- 12:49Speaker 2: this again next year.
- 12:50Speaker 9: Yeah, so we'll make it a tradition. Yeah, the first annual.
- 12:52Speaker 4: And it's not too late if you want to put
- 12:55Speaker 4: in whether or not digs with slant or screenargument of
- 13:00Speaker 4: the Okay, that's.
- 13:01Speaker 2: What I said.
- 13:04Speaker 9: Nothing's going to be past commander's argument.
- 13:06Speaker 3: The point four air yards. Okay, so technically speaking it
- 13:12Speaker 3: was past you know, okay down in the field.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Andy, you need to you need to know to clear victory.
- 13:18Speaker 2: We're making progress. We're making progress. We're making progress.
- 13:23Speaker 3: So therefore, in that respect, you were correct. See I
- 13:27Speaker 3: can admit that.
- 13:28Speaker 4: Okay, big, that hurt.
- 13:29Speaker 3: That's big of me.
- 13:30Speaker 9: Do you feel, okay?
- 13:32Speaker 2: Point four that's like you know, Muhammad Ali losing to
- 13:35Speaker 2: some tomato can in a in a boxing match for him,
- 13:39Speaker 2: you know.
- 13:39Speaker 4: When he got knocked down by what's his face Trevor Burrow,
- 13:43Speaker 4: who's the guy, Chuck Webner, Chuck.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Tyson, who's the one that that Douglas that was a
- 13:51Speaker 1: legitimate knockout?
- 13:52Speaker 4: Like he beat the crap on. Tyson just wasn't ready
- 13:55Speaker 4: for the fight. Yeah, I guess he didn't know it
- 13:57Speaker 4: was a damn show. He thought it was a damn fight.
- 14:00Speaker 2: So all right, nobody knows. Nobody knows slants like fields.
- 14:10Speaker 2: I would love to.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Talk slang Rose, But what's your favorite kind of slant?
- 14:15Speaker 1: Just the complete one?
- 14:16Speaker 9: You just did the thing?
- 14:18Speaker 10: The one people like, what are your favorite players that
- 14:21Speaker 10: men due to women when they say they like in
- 14:24Speaker 10: a different way.
- 14:24Speaker 3: You're right, Yeah, you're right.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Listen.
- 14:27Speaker 2: I don't know the anatomies of all these slants.
- 14:30Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 14:31Speaker 2: I just know what I see, that's all. Yeah.
- 14:36Speaker 4: It's this smile and just utter contentment in three really
- 14:42Speaker 4: really looks. It looks great on you.
- 14:44Speaker 3: There's a big difference.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I wear it well.
- 14:46Speaker 3: You run a three step slant when you're supposed to
- 14:48Speaker 3: run a five. That's an incompete pack.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Yeah, as are created well can be behind the skinny slants, right, yeah, exactly.
- 14:56Speaker 4: Yeah, to be confused with a skinny post which is
- 14:59Speaker 4: a little different kind of a sling.
- 15:00Speaker 3: It's basically the same thing.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Yeah, but an arrow, it's an arrow.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Raw route depends on the playbook. Some ARA routes are flash.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Can I throw like a serious route question at you?
- 15:13Speaker 3: Second?
- 15:13Speaker 4: I don't know if you did you watch it? Did
- 15:16Speaker 4: you ever watch any of your Yeah, it is a
- 15:17Speaker 4: serious one. Your your idol, Kyle Shanahan Sunday night. You
- 15:21Speaker 4: watch much of that game?
- 15:22Speaker 3: What do you think.
- 15:24Speaker 4: Ricky Piersoll happened to be like one of the two
- 15:26Speaker 4: plays I was watching during the game, because you know,
- 15:29Speaker 4: the night games pulse a little old.
- 15:30Speaker 1: He can't stay up for the.
- 15:33Speaker 4: Did you see that route where he kind of like
- 15:35Speaker 4: went like kind of hard on an incut and then
- 15:37Speaker 4: basically just stopped on a dime, drifted back out to
- 15:40Speaker 4: the sideline. What would you call that route? It's called
- 15:42Speaker 4: a blaze out blaze outs, and I not heard that term.
- 15:45Speaker 4: Once again, my instincts were right. I had not heard
- 15:48Speaker 4: that term.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Not to nitpick. I mean, I'm sure, I'm listen, I'm
- 15:53Speaker 2: sure it's called a blaze out, but in other places
- 15:56Speaker 2: it's probably called other things.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, so the patriot might call that so what
- 16:01Speaker 3: would you call it to.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Someone who either who doesn't know the lexicon, what would
- 16:05Speaker 2: you call it? Out and out right?
- 16:07Speaker 3: But but it's got a little flair to it, so
- 16:11Speaker 3: so and out with a tail. No, it's the other way,
- 16:14Speaker 3: do you know the one there he's he runs, he
- 16:16Speaker 3: stems it up and he runs it like he's going
- 16:18Speaker 3: to break in and he gets the corner to bite
- 16:20Speaker 3: on the fact that he's going to break in, and
- 16:22Speaker 3: then he breaks out.
- 16:22Speaker 4: It was almost like a deeper jerk route.
- 16:24Speaker 2: So it's an out with the head.
- 16:25Speaker 4: It was so far downfield and it took so much
- 16:27Speaker 4: with a nod is what we call it.
- 16:29Speaker 3: With a nod, a little nod to the see that's
- 16:32Speaker 3: that's the thing, I think, and then you're out.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Yeah, So that's it.
- 16:36Speaker 1: That's what it is.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Glimpsed him high foot right there like a blaze route
- 16:40Speaker 2: could mean nothing on another team like we don't we
- 16:44Speaker 2: don't call I don't know what you're talking about. But
- 16:46Speaker 2: when we went out with a fake that goes, you know,
- 16:50Speaker 2: to the other side, we have another name for.
- 16:51Speaker 3: That, correct, But I would say that if you, for instance,
- 16:56Speaker 3: let's say Josh McDaniels calls it something different and than
- 16:59Speaker 3: Kyle Shanahan Josh McDaniel's. If a new receiver comes in
- 17:02Speaker 3: and says, oh, you want me to run a blaze out,
- 17:05Speaker 3: He's still going to know what that is. It's not
- 17:07Speaker 3: like we're talking like.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Because he's explained the route to him like figuratively.
- 17:11Speaker 12: No.
- 17:11Speaker 3: No, I mean like you kind of just like no
- 17:14Speaker 3: different languages a little bit enough, right, fair enough?
- 17:17Speaker 2: Yeah, But I'm just saying that sometimes, like football, people
- 17:22Speaker 2: can you know, get so involved in their lexicon that
- 17:28Speaker 2: it's really just gibberish. They can actually explain it in
- 17:31Speaker 2: a way that everyone could mean it, but the code
- 17:34Speaker 2: words kind of gives them that shield of knowledge, you
- 17:37Speaker 2: know what I mean.
- 17:40Speaker 4: It's alex Is all over you too.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Yeah, that's fair. Yeah, I think that, you know, the
- 17:45Speaker 3: differences is like an out is just an out without
- 17:48Speaker 3: the little snazzy snus at the top, right, whereas the
- 17:52Speaker 3: blaze out has a little But I don't need to
- 17:55Speaker 3: do it again. But my route was great, that's called
- 17:59Speaker 3: suddenness of the up the rally, great, great separation, right,
- 18:02Speaker 3: But if you don't, if you you know, you don't,
- 18:04Speaker 3: you just call it an out. Now we're just running
- 18:05Speaker 3: it out like it's a different route.
- 18:07Speaker 4: Right, And what I think, in all seriousness again, what
- 18:10Speaker 4: made this particular play I think effective was Rickey Pearsall
- 18:13Speaker 4: really ran the route well. He sold it really well.
- 18:17Speaker 4: And so you have to have an ability to you know,
- 18:19Speaker 4: to stop and start ability. Not everybody can go one
- 18:21Speaker 4: hundred percent stop on a dime cut one way and
- 18:24Speaker 4: then go the other way.
- 18:25Speaker 2: So let me ask you a question. Did And I'm
- 18:27Speaker 2: probably gonna sound stupid here, but it's just an honest
- 18:30Speaker 2: question that I have. What do you call the pass
- 18:33Speaker 2: that is behind the line of scrimmages is parallel to
- 18:35Speaker 2: the line of scrimmage Those quick throws that are you know,
- 18:39Speaker 2: an our route, those are called an out route and
- 18:42Speaker 2: now now, oh anw route thrown it. Now, if I'm
- 18:47Speaker 2: doing the blog during the game and I say, oh,
- 18:49Speaker 2: that was an now route, no one's gonna know what
- 18:51Speaker 2: that is, I would agree with you on that, you know.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Yeah, So, I mean there's a couple of different things
- 18:56Speaker 3: like you're talking about, like probably like the quarter just
- 19:00Speaker 3: going to see off coverage in the guy's eight yards
- 19:02Speaker 3: off the line of stoomage and he's just going to
- 19:05Speaker 3: take the completion right and Usually that's like kind of
- 19:08Speaker 3: like an RPO where it's probably a run play, but
- 19:11Speaker 3: he sees the off coverage, he's just gonna throw it
- 19:12Speaker 3: out there. Most people call that a now route because
- 19:15Speaker 3: you're just you're popping up and you're throwing it now.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Okay. And then in your opinion, what constitutes the flat,
- 19:23Speaker 2: Like there's a pass to the flat. I think people
- 19:25Speaker 2: have different opinions and what that is.
- 19:28Speaker 3: So I would constitute the flat. And it depends, like
- 19:32Speaker 3: because in college the hash marks are wider, right, So
- 19:35Speaker 3: in the college you might call it like the area
- 19:37Speaker 3: from the hash marks to the sideline. The NFL, I
- 19:39Speaker 3: call it the numbers to the sideline is usually the flat.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Anywhere down the field?
- 19:44Speaker 4: Well, no, like underneath I would say plus or minus
- 19:47Speaker 4: five yard yes, okay.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Yeah, like the short area of the field down there.
- 19:52Speaker 2: That's that's what I think. It's that short pass that's
- 19:55Speaker 2: kind of to the side there.
- 19:56Speaker 4: Like I wouldn't say a twenty yard out was the
- 19:58Speaker 4: throw to the flat?
- 19:59Speaker 2: Right now? I don't either right now, but sometimes in
- 20:02Speaker 2: my mind, I'm calling that now pass which is parallel
- 20:07Speaker 2: to the line. To me, that's a flat pass. I
- 20:10Speaker 2: call it myself that's my own lexicon. That's a flat
- 20:12Speaker 2: pass because it's flat.
- 20:14Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, I think there's probably different kinds, but I
- 20:18Speaker 4: think you could have that like is the running if
- 20:20Speaker 4: like a running back to take a little leg almost
- 20:22Speaker 4: like a little orbit. Like well, I don't call that
- 20:24Speaker 4: little swing pass.
- 20:25Speaker 2: That's like a wheel router down the side, down the
- 20:28Speaker 2: side of it, or I call that a swing pass.
- 20:31Speaker 2: I'm just talking about like wide receivers at the line
- 20:34Speaker 2: of scrimmage, ball is snapped, he takes two steps back,
- 20:38Speaker 2: and the quarterback immediately throws.
- 20:40Speaker 4: You would call that a now route because it depends.
- 20:42Speaker 4: I just call it a screen, but I know what
- 20:44Speaker 4: he's talking about it.
- 20:46Speaker 2: I don't call it a screen because there's no one
- 20:47Speaker 2: in front, because the.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Guy's off covered Aaron Rodgers the Thursday night game last
- 20:51Speaker 4: year when the Jets beat the Patriots, they did that
- 20:55Speaker 4: like three or four times they caught. I think Lazard's
- 20:57Speaker 4: touchdown was a play like that that I don't think
- 21:00Speaker 4: out of a huddle supposed to be a quick out
- 21:02Speaker 4: or a quick screen till wizard, but just off coverages
- 21:05Speaker 4: off Rogers boom and.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Maybe now route. Yeah, Rogers is another term.
- 21:10Speaker 4: I'm not really familiar.
- 21:11Speaker 3: Rogers is really known for those, because you know, he'll
- 21:14Speaker 3: just read the the technique of the corner and usually
- 21:17Speaker 3: it's a run play. It's usually supposed to be a handoff.
- 21:20Speaker 3: But if he sees that space and he's got a
- 21:22Speaker 3: matchup out there that he likes, he might just throw
- 21:24Speaker 3: it out there and then, like in that situation, I think,
- 21:27Speaker 3: not trying to knock Marcus Jones, but he was trying
- 21:30Speaker 3: to cover Alan Lazard, which is obviously a huge size mismatch.
- 21:33Speaker 3: So he he just threw it right out to Lazard
- 21:35Speaker 3: and let him. Now you're playing.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Now you make a guy miss.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Now it's playing ground rules, right right.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, So I I never knew what the name
- 21:43Speaker 2: of that was, so I always call it a flat
- 21:45Speaker 2: pass because it's kind of the flat of flat. It's
- 21:48Speaker 2: not to the but to me, that's not to the flat.
- 21:51Speaker 2: A flat is over the line of scrimmage. Somewhere this
- 21:54Speaker 2: is behind the line of scrimmage.
- 21:56Speaker 3: I think it's kind of the same.
- 21:57Speaker 4: Yeah, but I see what you're saying, you know what
- 21:59Speaker 4: I mean. But that's good route talk.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's the point, like, you know, that's better
- 22:05Speaker 3: than nicknames.
- 22:06Speaker 7: Yeah, Well, I just go back to uh weatherman, and
- 22:10Speaker 7: a weatherman can sit up there and tell you all
- 22:11Speaker 7: about barometric pressure and all that, and some people that's
- 22:14Speaker 7: their jam, and other people just want to know if
- 22:15Speaker 7: it's going to rain it right, So you know, you
- 22:18Speaker 7: have to explain to people whether or not it's raining,
- 22:20Speaker 7: and that's your blog.
- 22:20Speaker 1: And Evans they like to know more of the detail.
- 22:23Speaker 1: They like to know some of the nuance of it.
- 22:25Speaker 1: But you know, there's nine nine.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Routes you can but I would say ninety percent of
- 22:28Speaker 2: the football population if you just said he threw a
- 22:31Speaker 2: now pass or a now route, they wouldn't know what
- 22:35Speaker 2: that is.
- 22:36Speaker 1: But some people want to know.
- 22:38Speaker 2: But you then have to explain it. Sure, a now
- 22:41Speaker 2: route which is a pass immediately out of the hands
- 22:45Speaker 2: of whatever you you know, how you want to explain it?
- 22:47Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, do a little appendix at the bottom,
- 22:51Speaker 3: like with the numbers and a little small you know, but.
- 22:54Speaker 7: There's zero is zero route, I mean one through nine.
- 22:57Speaker 7: I know you know that generally you cover it in
- 23:00Speaker 7: those and I mean you can probably.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not a numbers guy. I the numbers on
- 23:05Speaker 3: the routes, it's you're they're a digit system, you're because
- 23:08Speaker 3: not everybody does the.
- 23:09Speaker 7: Number no, sure, but if you're trying to explain a
- 23:11Speaker 7: simple route, you could probably get it under that.
- 23:13Speaker 3: The Patriots, dude, are not a digit system with routes,
- 23:18Speaker 3: so they don't go one, two, three, four five.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Uh.
- 23:21Speaker 3: But I I could see both ways that the digit
- 23:24Speaker 3: systems easier to articulate in a play call. So that's
- 23:27Speaker 3: why it's it's more streamlined in that sense. But I
- 23:30Speaker 3: think it's also kind of easier in some ways for
- 23:33Speaker 3: guys because if you say to them, like, we want you,
- 23:36Speaker 3: you know, to run a you know whatever it is
- 23:39Speaker 3: on the on the number scale, like now, okay, well
- 23:42Speaker 3: then you have to take that number in your head
- 23:43Speaker 3: and then you have to think, okay, what number is that? Okay,
- 23:45Speaker 3: what number is that route? Whereas the Patriots just say
- 23:47Speaker 3: you're running a slant right.
- 23:49Speaker 1: So it's just makes sense to me.
- 23:51Speaker 7: Yeah, it's it's concepts for them, right, like smash and
- 23:53Speaker 7: you're gonna run smash to the right.
- 23:55Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 23:55Speaker 3: They have two receiver concepts, they have three receiver concepts. Uh,
- 23:58Speaker 3: and then they you know, they put the whole concept together,
- 24:01Speaker 3: you know, so like hass juke is you know hass
- 24:04Speaker 3: is hitching on the outside, seam on the inside, so
- 24:07Speaker 3: they call that has and so then they'll call the
- 24:09Speaker 3: play like hasty juke, which is hass on the outside
- 24:13Speaker 3: and the Z is running the.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Juke rout Jordan Right.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Speaking of cursing, Bill from Albuquerque says, most psychological studies
- 24:23Speaker 2: say that people who curse are usually more intelligent and
- 24:27Speaker 2: happier than people who don't. And as Mark Twain once said,
- 24:31Speaker 2: cursing brings relief found not even in prayer.
- 24:34Speaker 1: That's good.
- 24:36Speaker 9: Well, there you go, I'll take it. But intelligent and
- 24:40Speaker 9: I'm pretty happy.
- 24:41Speaker 4: A lot of people say it's just a sign of ignorance,
- 24:44Speaker 4: like you can't come up.
- 24:45Speaker 2: With a better word, like Well, Eisenhower said, you know
- 24:48Speaker 2: the famous general he said, I don't swear because it
- 24:50Speaker 2: gives people an excuse not to listen to me. Well
- 24:55Speaker 2: that was back in the fifties.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Yeah, oh, this guy's swearing.
- 25:00Speaker 4: The general, you know, Eisenhower, not the president, the general.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Well he said it while he was a general.
- 25:05Speaker 4: I'm not saying you're wrong, obviously, that's you know why
- 25:08Speaker 4: he was president.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, let's see. Resolutions are coming in Nick
- 25:17Speaker 2: in North Dakota My favorite. My Patriots resolution is to
- 25:21Speaker 2: finally thank Matt Patricia for his work as offensive coordinator
- 25:24Speaker 2: during the twenty two season. Good resolution, I like it.
- 25:27Speaker 9: See that's a good bit too.
- 25:29Speaker 2: All jokes aside, I'm excited for some Patriots playoff football.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Thanks for the great content. That's Nick. In North Dakota,
- 25:35Speaker 2: Spie has a resolution. His is to not overreact if
- 25:40Speaker 2: the Patriots don't make the super Bowl, but not to
- 25:42Speaker 2: underreact if they go one and done. So that's an
- 25:47Speaker 2: interesting reaction temperance. Yeah.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess you can overreact if they go to
- 25:53Speaker 3: the super Bowl. That would be pretty awesome.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what pants off.
- 25:57Speaker 3: That's fair to over.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Hants off her and gainstt uh in honor of Cam Newton. Nicknames, No,
- 26:05Speaker 2: we're not doing nicknames. No more nicknames, no nicknames, just resolutions.
- 26:10Speaker 4: Just anger from French.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Well, I mean he's come out fire in today like.
- 26:14Speaker 7: It's Drake Drake may May right, and we like the
- 26:19Speaker 7: skipping rip.
- 26:19Speaker 1: The skipping rip should stay in the pantheon of little monikers.
- 26:22Speaker 3: It sounds like a roller coaster like old time.
- 26:26Speaker 4: Credits to Ted Johnson, the first guy I heard he
- 26:28Speaker 4: was the term and I think it accurately describes what
- 26:31Speaker 4: he does when he throws in that way.
- 26:33Speaker 1: I need the Leo DiCaprio meme where he's like, you know, looking.
- 26:36Speaker 2: At the TV.
- 26:36Speaker 1: That's because when they that's what happened.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Last week, I was like, man, there it is, and then.
- 26:43Speaker 11: That was a slant.
- 26:50Speaker 4: We're watching the Iowa Vanderbilt. It's, uh, you know, the
- 26:54Speaker 4: ever popular RelA Questa Bowl, and this is much more
- 26:59Speaker 4: similar to the Malcolm Butler pick. Yeah.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:03Speaker 7: Do you guys find like and I have, I have
- 27:05Speaker 7: a little bit interest in the college you know, CFP playoffs,
- 27:09Speaker 7: But you think that the CFP Playoffs has kind of
- 27:11Speaker 7: even further pushed games like this down the stairs column?
- 27:15Speaker 4: No, no, there's people games. These games were always there
- 27:19Speaker 4: was only they've added games of relevance because these games
- 27:23Speaker 4: already didn't matter. It was only two teams that really mattered.
- 27:26Speaker 4: Those are the ones that were playing the championship. I
- 27:27Speaker 4: think you could disagree with that.
- 27:29Speaker 3: I think you can make a slight argument that it
- 27:31Speaker 3: actually devalues like the Rose Bowl and the Sugar Bowl
- 27:34Speaker 3: because those bowls are now not those this is what
- 27:38Speaker 3: the quarterfinals, right or semifinals.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Yeah. So it's not It's not like you won the
- 27:42Speaker 2: Rose Bowl. Who cares? You know, you know what I mean.
- 27:45Speaker 4: You're talking about the status are saying we won the
- 27:47Speaker 4: Rose Bowl, Okay, But what I'm saying is the year
- 27:50Speaker 4: that any year that the Rose Bowl wasn't deciding the
- 27:53Speaker 4: national championship made it lesser than what it is now.
- 27:56Speaker 4: Of course, it's now deciding who's going to go to
- 27:59Speaker 4: the National chief.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Stay the road and then you know, I put this,
- 28:02Speaker 3: and they still do that, but like it's not as
- 28:03Speaker 3: meaningful because you didn't win anything yet, you know, versus
- 28:06Speaker 3: before your Rose Bowl champs.
- 28:09Speaker 4: But I also like the other bowls though were already irrelevant.
- 28:13Speaker 2: They were always irrelevant, but even more now. Like even
- 28:17Speaker 2: back then, like every bowl was kind of equal except
- 28:20Speaker 2: for the one that had the you know, for the championship.
- 28:23Speaker 2: You know, so like if your team was in the
- 28:25Speaker 2: Liberty Bowl, okay, you know we're gonna win the Liberty Bowl.
- 28:28Speaker 2: But now it doesn't matter because you're not in the playoffs.
- 28:31Speaker 3: Well yeah, but it used to be like even the
- 28:33Speaker 3: Bulls that weren't the championship game. Like when there's BCS
- 28:36Speaker 3: days like the Rose Bowl, Fiesta Sugar Orange Bowl, Cotton Bowl. Yeah,
- 28:41Speaker 3: like those bulls did matter even if it wasn't for
- 28:43Speaker 3: the national championship.
- 28:45Speaker 4: I don't think they mattered more then than they do now.
- 28:48Speaker 4: I don't know those that are going to marrow.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Because it's a bigger game now.
- 28:53Speaker 3: It's just different that I hear what Paul is saying,
- 28:55Speaker 3: but it's just it's just a different type of matter.
- 28:58Speaker 4: Yeah, and I think you're all also just talking about
- 29:01Speaker 4: the New Year's Day bulls. Yeah, those were once huge,
- 29:04Speaker 4: even if they weren't for the national title. I'm sorry.
- 29:07Speaker 4: The Independence Bowl and the Blue Bonnet Bowl were never huge.
- 29:10Speaker 4: And these are the games that are being played that
- 29:12Speaker 4: we're talking about, right, they were never relevant to anybody.
- 29:15Speaker 4: A Rental Car Bowl was, right, anybody other than the
- 29:20Speaker 4: like when Doug Flutey was at BC, BC was a
- 29:23Speaker 4: pretty big deal around here. They were, and they played
- 29:25Speaker 4: in the Liberty Bowl once and it was a huge
- 29:28Speaker 4: deal for Boston College, but it wasn't a huge deal
- 29:30Speaker 4: around the country. No one cared.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Okay, but you like the Pop Tarts Bowl, Admit it's funny.
- 29:35Speaker 3: Oh no, they got there and the.
- 29:39Speaker 4: Human the purpose like that, you know in general likes
- 29:45Speaker 4: I just don't think they're any less relevant today than
- 29:47Speaker 4: they were ten years ago.
- 29:48Speaker 2: I'm surprised because no one loves tradition. Irrelevant than tradition.
- 29:54Speaker 4: I would say I'm a I'm an old school traditionalist.
- 29:56Speaker 4: But those Bulls were never a big deal. Now I
- 29:59Speaker 4: watch them because I'm a loser. I watched that stuff. Well,
- 30:03Speaker 4: I don't watch like these bowl games. I did watch
- 30:07Speaker 4: a good Illinois and Tennessee last night was a pretty
- 30:09Speaker 4: good game. I did watch a good chunk of that.
- 30:11Speaker 1: They just they need better names, like the con Bowls,
- 30:15Speaker 1: like at least those are the sponsors.
- 30:18Speaker 9: Sponsors have gotten into it and now everything.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Need But if they didn't, the Bob's Discount furniture, I'll
- 30:27Speaker 2: just keep going until I get all my reads done,
- 30:30Speaker 2: the Bud light.
- 30:30Speaker 7: Bulbs, which was that easy to watch, the Bud light Bulb,
- 30:34Speaker 7: the Bront Bowl, the Bront Bowl.
- 30:38Speaker 4: But these games wouldn't exist anymore if they didn't have
- 30:40Speaker 4: these sponsors, these names like the Road, like even the
- 30:45Speaker 4: Big Bulls are now corporate sponsored, but they still have it.
- 30:50Speaker 4: It's like the whatever, the All State Sugar Bowl, whatever.
- 30:54Speaker 9: They keep the name, but just add the little I don't.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Care for it.
- 30:58Speaker 4: That's the name. That's where you drop. I don't care,
- 31:01Speaker 4: and I don't care.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Just a reminder, Mike Rabel will be speaking at one
- 31:05Speaker 2: ten today, so we'll be going to that live. You
- 31:08Speaker 2: might want to tune in for that. Eight five five,
- 31:10Speaker 2: Pats five hundred is the hotline. Let's get to the phones.
- 31:14Speaker 2: We'll start with Ken in Florida. What's up, Ken?
- 31:19Speaker 6: Can you hear me?
- 31:20Speaker 2: Guys?
- 31:21Speaker 13: Yeah, Hey, hey, Pats, let's go, baby. Yeah, Hey, I
- 31:28Speaker 13: just gotta I think to say about the conversation yesterday
- 31:33Speaker 13: about the nickname.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Oh boy, okay, go ahead.
- 31:36Speaker 13: I know, I know, Fred, I know you said it's over.
- 31:40Speaker 5: Yeah, but Fred, you and Paulie I.
- 31:42Speaker 13: Got to be a little bit disappointed, you know, because, uh,
- 31:46Speaker 13: you know, we're we're an older school that thing there.
- 31:49Speaker 13: We can't chant it in the stadium, you know, Drake
- 31:55Speaker 13: Drake May.
- 31:56Speaker 2: May No, well you don't even have it right and VP.
- 32:02Speaker 13: Jimp p Yeah, hey, but I was kind of thinking
- 32:05Speaker 13: about like a great stadium chant kind of name, you know,
- 32:12Speaker 13: like the greatest of all time in the stadium, maximous,
- 32:17Speaker 13: maximous Maximus.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Are you not entertained control of that?
- 32:22Speaker 8: Are you not entertained exactly.
- 32:24Speaker 13: Yeah, yeah, that's not that important.
- 32:26Speaker 11: Guys.
- 32:26Speaker 13: Let's go, let's let's win this thing.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Okay, thanks, I'm saying, well, I wish people would have
- 32:34Speaker 2: something good. Uh, Nathan Connecticut, we can hear you, all right.
- 32:43Speaker 14: I just wanted to ask your thoughts on this.
- 32:46Speaker 15: I know, but the news and digs just coming out yesterday,
- 32:49Speaker 15: it's been uh, it's.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Been a lot.
- 32:51Speaker 15: It's been a lot to like kind of swallow.
- 32:53Speaker 16: But uh.
- 32:54Speaker 15: Also today we got news of Christian bar More is
- 32:57Speaker 15: also facing some charges. I think I feel like a
- 33:00Speaker 15: good new Year's resolution for the team this, this upcoming
- 33:04Speaker 15: twenty six would just be start fresh on behaviors.
- 33:07Speaker 7: Because this isn't us. We're better than this.
- 33:12Speaker 15: And you know, going into the playoffs, it's just not
- 33:15Speaker 15: good if these guys are going to be suspended or
- 33:17Speaker 15: possibly disciplines yet, it would.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Not be good. All right, that's a good resolution. Ye
- 33:24Speaker 2: don't put yourself in bad situations.
- 33:28Speaker 4: Uh.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Christian is in La. What's up? Christian?
- 33:33Speaker 16: Hey you guys, Happy Wednesday. Happy New Year to you all.
- 33:36Speaker 16: I hope you guys have a great New Years everything
- 33:38Speaker 16: that you desire.
- 33:39Speaker 4: You too, You too, Christians, Thank you guys.
- 33:41Speaker 16: Man, you guys are really cool guys. I love calling
- 33:43Speaker 16: in and it's just been a blast to be a
- 33:45Speaker 16: part of the family. But on my New Year's resolution
- 33:49Speaker 16: is to find new and creative ways to challenge Paul. Okaylution,
- 33:53Speaker 16: I like that.
- 33:54Speaker 2: I mean, so far you're doing really well because his
- 33:58Speaker 2: doctor told him he has to cut down on in
- 34:00Speaker 2: l A.
- 34:06Speaker 4: On my football stuff. A show friend, I'll be.
- 34:14Speaker 11: The police tell.
- 34:18Speaker 16: On my football stuff. I want to know who you
- 34:20Speaker 16: guys think. But each game that we could play in
- 34:23Speaker 16: the playoffs, the one player that we if we shut
- 34:26Speaker 16: that player down, we could make it to the next
- 34:28Speaker 16: game addition to the Super Bowl.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Who's the quarterback of each team?
- 34:32Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I was going to say.
- 34:32Speaker 17: The quarterback in the quarter whoever the quarterback, the first
- 34:36Speaker 17: one would be Herbert if just look like the most
- 34:39Speaker 17: likely opponent, I would have quartered back guys besides the
- 34:42Speaker 17: quarterback outside of the quarterback.
- 34:44Speaker 2: I mean, obviously, if we played Baltimore for some reason
- 34:48Speaker 2: and Jackson wasn't playing, it's it's.
- 34:52Speaker 4: Well, I'm going to say Derek Henry and Jackson plays
- 34:55Speaker 4: or not. I mean, they couldn't control Derrek Henry in
- 34:58Speaker 4: that game, and they almost lost. Yeah, playing him, what if?
- 35:03Speaker 2: What if we're playing Pittsburgh, who Paul doesn't think is
- 35:06Speaker 2: going to make the playoffs, But if.
- 35:07Speaker 4: They them, it would be to me the running game
- 35:10Speaker 4: in general.
- 35:12Speaker 3: Yes, it's a tough one.
- 35:15Speaker 4: They the k right, Yeah, can't.
- 35:18Speaker 3: I saw yesterday. It kind of flew under the radar
- 35:21Speaker 3: because we're not Steelers unfiltered. But Darnell Washington is out
- 35:25Speaker 3: for the year for the Steelers, huge loss for them.
- 35:29Speaker 3: Three hundred pound tight end who plays like a tackle
- 35:32Speaker 3: and runs like a tight end and he's a hell
- 35:34Speaker 3: of a player.
- 35:34Speaker 2: So that thanks Christian.
- 35:36Speaker 3: That's a big, big loss for them.
- 35:37Speaker 4: But I would say with Pittsburgh, I think if they're
- 35:39Speaker 4: going to have any success offensively, it's gain well in
- 35:42Speaker 4: Warren getting it going. So that's been a little bit
- 35:46Speaker 4: of a weakness since Milton Williams has been out. That
- 35:48Speaker 4: would be the thing I.
- 35:49Speaker 2: Would And Houston is that defensive front.
- 35:53Speaker 3: Edge guys Hunter and him, move the pocket, slide the protection.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Dsonville, Jakobe Myers.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I was gonna say turnovers, I don't know. Yeah,
- 36:08Speaker 3: their defense has been the turnover machine and that's how
- 36:11Speaker 3: they've won a lot of games this year is turning
- 36:13Speaker 3: teams over. And the one thing about Jacksonville, you know
- 36:16Speaker 3: that usually doesn't sustain. So like if I was Jacksonville, like.
- 36:23Speaker 4: And Chicago, their two defenses have been completely reliant on
- 36:27Speaker 4: taking the ball right.
- 36:28Speaker 3: So if you don't turn it over against Jacksonville, I
- 36:29Speaker 3: think he'd be in pretty good shape.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Okay, the lack what about the lack the Chargers.
- 36:37Speaker 4: That's the Herbert for me, just the quarterback, probably Quintin Johnston.
- 36:45Speaker 4: I mean we're talking just offense.
- 36:47Speaker 3: I mean like Cleil Mack and Derwin James can still
- 36:49Speaker 3: play on their defense.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Guys got a bunch of sacks and pressures too.
- 36:55Speaker 7: I don't know, I just I wondered about Keenan Allen
- 36:57Speaker 7: still seems like he continues to be I'm one of
- 37:00Speaker 7: a motor for them and an engine.
- 37:02Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 37:02Speaker 7: I like the Marion Hampton at points, but I feel
- 37:05Speaker 7: like watching him last week, he just he's struggling to
- 37:07Speaker 7: get free a little bit.
- 37:08Speaker 3: But it's more I would say with the Chargers outside
- 37:11Speaker 3: of Herbert like, their defensive scheme is really good. And
- 37:14Speaker 3: Jesse Minterer, their defensive coordinator, is going to be on
- 37:17Speaker 3: short list for head coaching jobs and things like that.
- 37:19Speaker 3: They gotta really they disguise it. They you know, spin
- 37:22Speaker 3: the dial a lot, and you know, play different match
- 37:26Speaker 3: coverages and things like that. They're they're a complicated defense
- 37:28Speaker 3: to go up against. But that's not really like, all right, person.
- 37:31Speaker 2: We might as well finish finish off the list Denver.
- 37:36Speaker 1: I mean, it's the Edges would be a concern for.
- 37:42Speaker 4: The past Rush in general. I think they're still leading
- 37:44Speaker 4: the league, right, Yeah, Zach Allen.
- 37:47Speaker 1: The middle, Yeah, they got a good front. He's a beast, Okay,
- 37:51Speaker 1: but I don't know. Bonux is so sporadic, you know,
- 37:53Speaker 1: it's just like, yeah, I.
- 37:54Speaker 3: Mean Courtland Sutton's are number one receiver, but they I
- 37:59Speaker 3: think it's more about that defense, right and you know,
- 38:01Speaker 3: how can you score.
- 38:02Speaker 4: On the Their defense has been leaking lately, it has,
- 38:06Speaker 4: That's what Brian Hoyer said.
- 38:07Speaker 3: Yes, Jacksonville, I mean Jacksonvill went right up and down
- 38:10Speaker 3: the field.
- 38:10Speaker 2: As Yeah, he was just he was.
- 38:12Speaker 7: Brian horse said on the show that he's like, you know,
- 38:15Speaker 7: I've been watching Houston and Denver, and I'm like, there's
- 38:17Speaker 7: not really a comparison between the edge Rush to tru.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Defense to Houston's.
- 38:22Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe Houston's got the much better defense, but I
- 38:24Speaker 4: don't think that defense is as good outside of that Dome.
- 38:27Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Also, like with Denver, there's so much of their defense
- 38:30Speaker 3: as certain But like the way the Patriots play offense,
- 38:33Speaker 3: it's not like they have like this number one receiver
- 38:35Speaker 3: that they have to feed the ball to otherwise it
- 38:37Speaker 3: doesn't work.
- 38:38Speaker 2: So you know, it's.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Certain like you go up against certain matchups where he
- 38:41Speaker 3: can shadow whoever their number one guy is and take
- 38:44Speaker 3: them out of the game, that that becomes hard.
- 38:46Speaker 7: I mean, it's just I kind of feel like no
- 38:48Speaker 7: matter who they play, the theme is protect the edges
- 38:50Speaker 7: because you know, there's some really good edge rushers in
- 38:53Speaker 7: this league. I mean, Josh Heinz Allen, right, he's another one.
- 38:56Speaker 4: And with having a really good year when you start
- 38:58Speaker 4: talking about Denver a little bit too, and that's certain thing.
- 39:01Speaker 4: If Certain could take one, you know, if if he
- 39:03Speaker 4: were to take Digs out, and now you don't have
- 39:06Speaker 4: mac Hollins, so now you're asking, you know, some other
- 39:09Speaker 4: guys to do some volume stuff that they you know,
- 39:11Speaker 4: like Booty has been really good, but it's not really
- 39:14Speaker 4: been a volume guy most of the year. I think
- 39:15Speaker 4: he may have had won one game, one of two games.
- 39:19Speaker 4: I mean, if he had more than two games with
- 39:20Speaker 4: more than four or five catches, I'd be surprised. So
- 39:23Speaker 4: you're asking him to do something he really hasn't done.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Yeah, And Riley Moss on the other side has gotten
- 39:29Speaker 3: picked on all year, all year, and so that that's
- 39:32Speaker 3: their vulnerable outside to wear that matchup.
- 39:35Speaker 2: Yep, you know, I know, Paul, you mentioned about volume
- 39:38Speaker 2: and really the volume people have been Diggs, Holland's.
- 39:43Speaker 4: A little bit and the tight ends right.
- 39:46Speaker 2: But I'm telling you, I know you're gonna laugh. But Chisholm,
- 39:50Speaker 2: I think I don't.
- 39:51Speaker 4: I don't think he's going to be He could be.
- 39:53Speaker 2: He could be a volume.
- 39:54Speaker 3: He's going to be active. They only have five healthy receivers.
- 39:56Speaker 4: I'm not sure. I think Booty will be back, Yeah.
- 39:59Speaker 3: But they would sell him. They have five Booty digs,
- 40:02Speaker 3: Pop Williams Chisholm because Mac Collinson not gonna play.
- 40:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not sure he's gonna be active.
- 40:09Speaker 18: Might be.
- 40:09Speaker 4: I'm not telling you. I'm not telling you he won't
- 40:14Speaker 4: be active. I'm not going to be surprised if he's not.
- 40:16Speaker 4: Like if they're missing one receiver. I just it just
- 40:19Speaker 4: knocks Williams up. Williams doesn't play when all those four guys.
- 40:22Speaker 4: Williams really doesn't play. So now you have four guys
- 40:25Speaker 4: with Williams. Now, maybe they'll say, well, we can't really
- 40:28Speaker 4: rely on Williams. We need another guy. It could be him.
- 40:31Speaker 4: I don't I don't know what you're seeing.
- 40:33Speaker 2: That said.
- 40:34Speaker 4: Everybody else doesn't see this and short spaces Okay, I
- 40:37Speaker 4: didn't see that, but whatever.
- 40:39Speaker 3: He's the uh. I mean, they've last year. Last week
- 40:42Speaker 3: was the first time that they didn't have five receivers
- 40:44Speaker 3: active in the game because both guys were hurt, Booty, and.
- 40:47Speaker 4: That's why you had to play. That's my point.
- 40:49Speaker 3: Yeah, But I'm just saying, like every other game of
- 40:51Speaker 3: the year, they've had five he active on game days.
- 40:54Speaker 3: So if they stick with that, then he would be
- 40:57Speaker 3: he has to be the fifth. He's the default.
- 40:59Speaker 4: I'm not going to be surprised if either way. Let's
- 41:02Speaker 4: just put it that way, because they've had basically four
- 41:04Speaker 4: guys play. I mean even lately it's been three because
- 41:07Speaker 4: Douglas hasn't really even gotten any snaps lately.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Yeah, and I won't be surprised if he does play that,
- 41:12Speaker 2: Josh doesn't reach into the West Welker playbook and get
- 41:16Speaker 2: him on those West Welker routes Like.
- 41:18Speaker 4: I think that would be a terrible waste of Drake
- 41:20Speaker 4: Drake May May.
- 41:22Speaker 2: What do you call those wes Welker routes any any?
- 41:24Speaker 2: Is there any of those slot Weaver routes routes?
- 41:27Speaker 3: I mean we could just call him options options. Yeah, yeah,
- 41:31Speaker 3: we call him options. Other places might call him choice routes.
- 41:35Speaker 3: Usually you have one guy within the concept that has
- 41:38Speaker 3: an option or choice and it's just kind of get open,
- 41:41Speaker 3: you know, whatever you want to do. They sometimes they
- 41:43Speaker 3: do it with Hunter Henry too, but Diggs does it
- 41:46Speaker 3: most of the time.
- 41:46Speaker 7: I like the one Diggs did last week though, where
- 41:48Speaker 7: it was like he came out, he kind of stopped
- 41:50Speaker 7: like he was gonna go, and then he went back
- 41:52Speaker 7: like the way he was going.
- 41:52Speaker 2: Yeah a little bit.
- 41:54Speaker 3: It's a juke rout. Yeah, he gave it a little
- 41:56Speaker 3: like three.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Yeah, well, like an extra move, you know, crowd in
- 42:00Speaker 1: and out and get.
- 42:03Speaker 2: On that one.
- 42:04Speaker 6: But he did that guy.
- 42:05Speaker 3: That guy had no chance. He was in a blunder.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Separation all right.
- 42:09Speaker 2: Uh, back to the hot line. We go and it
- 42:13Speaker 2: is Mike and Long Island. What's up, Mike, Mike, Mike.
- 42:17Speaker 1: You guys and girls, Hey Mike little here.
- 42:21Speaker 5: Uh two quick statements and they question, Uh, my wife
- 42:25Speaker 5: got my new brunt boots for Christmas. They broke in
- 42:27Speaker 5: like twenty minutes.
- 42:28Speaker 2: They rule. I love them.
- 42:29Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 42:33Speaker 5: Evans comment on hearing d Train for the first time
- 42:36Speaker 5: yesterday cracked.
- 42:37Speaker 3: Me up when I was Yeah, that's tough man, that's
- 42:39Speaker 3: a tough one.
- 42:40Speaker 1: But he still calls me to and he call him
- 42:43Speaker 1: train across guy.
- 42:44Speaker 3: It's a horrible nickname. And uh.
- 42:49Speaker 5: With his performance on Sunday, he think that was enough
- 42:51Speaker 5: to put him over the edge for Offensive Rookie of
- 42:54Speaker 5: the Year.
- 42:57Speaker 4: Absolutely, I still get starting play and the West Welker
- 43:01Speaker 4: a little bit of.
- 43:03Speaker 3: See he's still and I'm being sinceres. He reminds me
- 43:07Speaker 3: a lot more of a Mandola than Edelman and Welker, Like,
- 43:11Speaker 3: I think he's more of like uh wrong with that, Yeah,
- 43:15Speaker 3: I think he's more Ammondola and say that just the
- 43:18Speaker 3: way that he plays. I think Edelman was more explosive, faster. Certainly,
- 43:24Speaker 3: I think Welker was quicker Amandola and him kind of
- 43:27Speaker 3: are a little bit like sturdier, a little bit more
- 43:29Speaker 3: thicker builds. But I I Josh McDaniel said the same
- 43:33Speaker 3: thing in the summertime. He said that, you know, of
- 43:37Speaker 3: all the guys, he reminds him the most of Ammadola.
- 43:39Speaker 3: And I think edelman straight line speed was underrated. I
- 43:43Speaker 3: think he was pretty fast and uh and so I
- 43:46Speaker 3: think that was different like.
- 43:48Speaker 2: For for a little guy. He had long strides.
- 43:50Speaker 3: Yeah, like I know the turf Monster got Chisholm. But
- 43:53Speaker 3: like everybody's like he might.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Have scored in the I don't think so excited.
- 43:57Speaker 3: I think he would have been caught. But like Edelman
- 44:00Speaker 3: doesn't get caught, and I'm in on that throws his
- 44:03Speaker 3: house in that he's he's fast.
- 44:05Speaker 2: Let's go to DeShawn in Virginia. I hate DeShawn Hood.
- 44:10Speaker 8: Guys, how was going all right?
- 44:13Speaker 19: Good?
- 44:13Speaker 8: Basically when I was looking in the event that Alex
- 44:16Speaker 8: on Catch twenty thirty, thing I watched wanting to leave
- 44:17Speaker 8: off was about the defense. I mean, when they talking
- 44:20Speaker 8: about like what the possis to get the pictures beat,
- 44:23Speaker 8: I think is six with the defense of it, because
- 44:25Speaker 8: that I don't really like the concept of them playing
- 44:28Speaker 8: so much don't. I don't know if it's because they
- 44:32Speaker 8: can't play that well mainly because of maybe intellectually or
- 44:36Speaker 8: maybe certainly not sound like other teams are. When I
- 44:38Speaker 8: watched the other teams play zone, and like I watched
- 44:41Speaker 8: other teams when they st get this team, it's like
- 44:43Speaker 8: they always spicedly convert for first down even on third
- 44:47Speaker 8: downs away. But that's my biggest spears when as they
- 44:49Speaker 8: able to play a guy like Josh Allen, I play
- 44:51Speaker 8: that that day, but if I would never be able
- 44:53Speaker 8: to get him off the field, and that went that.
- 44:54Speaker 8: But he was worry about the deep. I sink. I
- 44:56Speaker 8: try to play man to get the deep as the
- 44:59Speaker 8: funt that not very good first in the quarterback, you know.
- 45:02Speaker 8: You know, so that way they play much better defense
- 45:05Speaker 8: playing on his own. But they're not very good at
- 45:07Speaker 8: That's all I want to say.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Okay, thanks to Sean, just some words of advice.
- 45:11Speaker 11: I guess.
- 45:12Speaker 3: Yeah, we talked about they are twelfth in the league
- 45:15Speaker 3: on third down, so they're not they haven't been terrible
- 45:16Speaker 3: on third down on defense, but we talked a little
- 45:18Speaker 3: bit about that, and you know, I think that one
- 45:20Speaker 3: of the things that when we talk about you know,
- 45:23Speaker 3: man coverage is like, it's not just Gonzales and Davis
- 45:26Speaker 3: that have to play man coverage, it's the whole defense
- 45:28Speaker 3: that has to play man coverage. So who's covering the
- 45:31Speaker 3: tight end, who's covering the running back out of the backfield?
- 45:34Speaker 3: You know, those are things that maybe they look at
- 45:36Speaker 3: and say, we don't feel great about our options in
- 45:39Speaker 3: man to man, you know, against tight ends and backs
- 45:42Speaker 3: with our linebackers and safeties, and so they have to
- 45:45Speaker 3: kind of protect it a little bit and they can't
- 45:47Speaker 3: play maybe as much man, but maybe in the playoffs
- 45:50Speaker 3: they'll ramp it up. Like That's sort of what I've
- 45:51Speaker 3: been waiting for, is once we get to the postseason,
- 45:55Speaker 3: do when they play better teams and better quarterbacks, do
- 45:57Speaker 3: we see more of that cat coverage?
- 45:59Speaker 7: You know, I got to look for the trends in
- 46:01Speaker 7: it because I've just been tracking the man zone splits
- 46:03Speaker 7: all year. But I think I think you made the
- 46:04Speaker 7: point last week of it's kind of the NFL now
- 46:06Speaker 7: where and the Patriots are still like above the league average.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Of man defense. It's not like they're just a zone
- 46:10Speaker 1: defense now. But I think it's just early downs.
- 46:14Speaker 7: Keep it in front of you I mean, everybody gets
- 46:15Speaker 7: frustrated when it's first down and they're off zone coverage
- 46:18Speaker 7: and you know, Gonzales has to come up and make
- 46:20Speaker 7: a tackle. But I just think that's part of their
- 46:22Speaker 7: defensive philosophy, forced teams to continually execute on third down.
- 46:25Speaker 7: They're going to play mostly man. They're going to mix
- 46:28Speaker 7: in some some of their blitzes as well. But I
- 46:31Speaker 7: just think it's kind of where the league's going. I mean,
- 46:32Speaker 7: I don't know if it's going to necessarily and to
- 46:34Speaker 7: your point with everybody's got to play man like, I
- 46:37Speaker 7: don't think the solution is every down we're just playing
- 46:39Speaker 7: man defense and now everything's well.
- 46:40Speaker 3: That's also just like a common misconception about the league.
- 46:43Speaker 3: You know, there's no team in the league that plays
- 46:45Speaker 3: predominantly man coverage, Like Detroit is usually right on the
- 46:48Speaker 3: line of like over fifty percent man, but most thirty
- 46:53Speaker 3: one teams in the league are below fifty percent man coverage.
- 46:56Speaker 3: So it always ramps up on third down. Everybody plays
- 46:59Speaker 3: more intimate on third down, but most of the league
- 47:02Speaker 3: is in zone over seventy percent of the time.
- 47:05Speaker 7: Seventy two point six was my last check of an
- 47:08Speaker 7: NFL average for zone.
- 47:09Speaker 1: Yeah, and you know when the Patriots are at sixty
- 47:11Speaker 1: nine percent.
- 47:12Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 47:12Speaker 3: And also it's all straight up zone two nowadays. And
- 47:16Speaker 3: I don't want to get into this whole thing, but
- 47:17Speaker 3: like that's like that's.
- 47:18Speaker 1: The thing too.
- 47:19Speaker 4: I think like people just think zone allows you to
- 47:22Speaker 4: just go ahead and catch it. We're probably in zone
- 47:24Speaker 4: you can catch it.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:25Speaker 7: Well it's I mean, it's the we're getting to match
- 47:27Speaker 7: zones versus spine drops Bursday line and you don't know
- 47:30Speaker 7: for sure, Like I just at a certain point the
- 47:32Speaker 7: next gen, I'm like, all right, I'm just gonna rely
- 47:34Speaker 7: on you.
- 47:34Speaker 1: You're my stats. I'm not, you know, gonna question every
- 47:36Speaker 1: little detail of it.
- 47:37Speaker 3: But I love catching it when it's wrong. It's one
- 47:39Speaker 3: of my favorite things to put you at the defense.
- 47:42Speaker 3: But this is covered tree, next gen silly machine.
- 47:48Speaker 2: Ryan Pennsylvania. When it comes to Fred's little pole, I
- 47:51Speaker 2: see what you did there. I'm on team Evan, screen
- 47:54Speaker 2: not slant. If it hasn't been discussed yet, Evan, know
- 47:57Speaker 2: how many yards was the Ammondola passing the Super Bowl?
- 48:00Speaker 2: I'm guessing it's almost identical.
- 48:01Speaker 4: Yeah, two point conversions, so two this was three.
- 48:07Speaker 2: P s now. If we could only get you guys
- 48:09Speaker 2: to pronounce Drake Drake may May correctly. Paul is saying
- 48:13Speaker 2: it Drake Drake May May, not Drake Drake may May.
- 48:19Speaker 2: I hope it clears hope that clears it up. It
- 48:21Speaker 2: doesn't do any.
- 48:23Speaker 9: Why do you have to say it all together?
- 48:24Speaker 10: Well, I don't Drake Drake Mayrake Drake May, because who
- 48:30Speaker 10: it's Drake's nickname.
- 48:33Speaker 3: With the whole name right.
- 48:34Speaker 10: I wouldn't say Freddy Freddy feels cursh. I would just
- 48:38Speaker 10: say Freddy feels So why do we need to say
- 48:40Speaker 10: Drake Drake may May.
- 48:41Speaker 4: It's just Drake May, but that's the nickname according to you, guys,
- 48:46Speaker 4: Oh what's that supposed to me?
- 48:48Speaker 2: You people?
- 48:49Speaker 3: According to you, Paul.
- 48:58Speaker 9: Never reads the newsletter.
- 49:00Speaker 2: We have to read it was alerted Paul doesn't. Why
- 49:03Speaker 2: don't you read it?
- 49:04Speaker 4: Why do you got to do that Paul appreciation taking
- 49:08Speaker 4: off things on the air.
- 49:10Speaker 10: We did an entire Paul Appreciation newsletter on your birthday.
- 49:14Speaker 9: We all said nice things about you.
- 49:16Speaker 10: And then the next day I came in and had
- 49:18Speaker 10: like a smile on my face wanted to talk to
- 49:20Speaker 10: you about it.
- 49:21Speaker 9: You're like, I didn't read it.
- 49:22Speaker 1: I never read that was acknowledging a birthday, and we don't.
- 49:26Speaker 11: We don't do that.
- 49:26Speaker 4: We don't acknowledge by other people starting to get more
- 49:31Speaker 4: excited about my birthday for different reasons, retirements coming the
- 49:36Speaker 4: AARP discount?
- 49:39Speaker 3: Do you get pre tickets at the movies?
- 49:43Speaker 4: I do generally read the newsletter. I skimmed through it.
- 49:47Speaker 4: It was my shot by the claiming that I didn't
- 49:50Speaker 4: understand it, like I didn't know about the Drake lover
- 49:54Speaker 4: thing and all that stuff, which Evan, you know, pulled
- 49:57Speaker 4: back the curtain on that yesterday and just started laughing.
- 50:00Speaker 2: Did I even You're not serious? Did I ever tell
- 50:02Speaker 2: you my AARP story? So when you're like fifty, they
- 50:05Speaker 2: start sending you letters like join aar P blah blah blah.
- 50:09Speaker 2: So next one letting take you join aar P, will
- 50:14Speaker 2: send you this free gift. It's like it was like
- 50:15Speaker 2: a Duffel bag. So I'm a sucker for free gifts,
- 50:21Speaker 2: So I send my thing in. I joined, get my card.
- 50:25Speaker 2: A couple of weeks later, I get this bag that was,
- 50:29Speaker 2: I mean, so flimsy, like you wouldn't use it for anything.
- 50:33Speaker 2: I was so disgusted I threw the card away and
- 50:35Speaker 2: never renewed.
- 50:36Speaker 11: That was it.
- 50:37Speaker 2: I haven't joined.
- 50:38Speaker 9: I haven't been like duffle back itself.
- 50:42Speaker 2: It was like it was like like the cheapest nylon
- 50:45Speaker 2: you could and small, Like what am I gonna do
- 50:47Speaker 2: with that crap? It's like the help with you? Yeah,
- 50:52Speaker 2: you know, if you're gonna offer me a free gift,
- 50:53Speaker 2: make it worth my while.
- 50:55Speaker 1: I got my wife your while, Yeah, wanted to zip up.
- 51:00Speaker 1: She loves the onesies, you know, like a child.
- 51:03Speaker 6: I got one this.
- 51:04Speaker 1: It was terrible for Christmas.
- 51:05Speaker 11: I bought it for it.
- 51:07Speaker 1: So bad I had to apologize it like sixty bucks.
- 51:11Speaker 7: No, I don't want to say the company's name because
- 51:12Speaker 7: it was like you would think it was a repula company.
- 51:14Speaker 9: But I don't want to go down too much of
- 51:16Speaker 9: a rabbit hole.
- 51:17Speaker 10: Company's charging US hundreds of dollars for polyester crap.
- 51:22Speaker 9: Clothing is the bane of my existence.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Okay, good stuff with reputable but everything's stretchy. Now everything
- 51:29Speaker 2: has to be stretch have a problem with that.
- 51:31Speaker 3: It want to be comfortable. We don't want to wear things.
- 51:35Speaker 2: Life and that weren't stretchy, and I was pretty comfortable.
- 51:37Speaker 9: Everything is performance. To all be performance. It's all wearing
- 51:42Speaker 9: just plastic all day. It's not good for us take over.
- 51:45Speaker 4: She always has to bring it to.
- 51:46Speaker 10: Like New Year's resolution, wool, silk, linen, cotton, natural, five
- 51:54Speaker 10: natural fibers in my clothing.
- 51:56Speaker 3: But I talk like football jargon. That's like I understand.
- 52:00Speaker 3: And Alex starts talking about these types of things.
- 52:02Speaker 4: Like that just makes me feel bad about that.
- 52:04Speaker 3: Now I'm just like, what is she saying? Like I
- 52:06Speaker 3: get it now, it's annoying.
- 52:07Speaker 1: She's gonna be like all little sweaters, like sweating her
- 52:09Speaker 1: ass in summer.
- 52:10Speaker 2: I feel much better. All right, Alice, we're gonna take
- 52:13Speaker 2: a break. I gotta eat and then remember that Vrabel

- 54:32Speaker 19: five in your scorecard, but number one in our hearts.
- 54:34Speaker 19: Willie McGinnis joins us. Willie, thank you so much, appreciate
- 54:36Speaker 19: it to be here.
- 54:37Speaker 6: Man.
- 54:37Speaker 19: So I don't know if you remember this, many many
- 54:41Speaker 19: moons ago when we started this, Brian Moorey and I
- 54:44Speaker 19: had this great idea to do Pats from the Past talk.
- 54:46Speaker 19: The guys used to play go down memory Lane and
- 54:48Speaker 19: the first person we had was Willie McGinnis. Really, but
- 54:53Speaker 19: we bollocks the whole thing so badly from a technical
- 54:56Speaker 19: standpoint that it never saw the air.
- 54:58Speaker 4: I had to ask Brian to Lee and I just said,
- 55:00Speaker 4: I was going to tell you over there and take
- 55:02Speaker 4: care of your.
- 55:03Speaker 19: So I'm going to tell you to blame Brian on
- 55:06Speaker 19: the whole thing. That's why it didn't.
- 55:08Speaker 11: Okay, we can't. We can since he's not here, we can't.
- 55:10Speaker 11: We can't blame blame him.
- 55:12Speaker 4: And you can stick him in a locker like you
- 55:14Speaker 4: once did, which is one of my favorite time, one
- 55:16Speaker 4: of my favorite days.
- 55:17Speaker 19: Brian locker pretty much good.
- 55:20Speaker 11: That was the thing back then.
- 55:21Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, you were. It was a different time man,
- 55:24Speaker 4: when PFW would really really got along with the players
- 55:27Speaker 4: very well. Were we were like we always got along, right.
- 55:30Speaker 19: So a lot of people tried the Celtics Lakers game
- 55:33Speaker 19: last night.
- 55:33Speaker 4: You have a divided loyalty there.
- 55:35Speaker 11: Is it a SoCal guy, but you're my second home.
- 55:39Speaker 23: Yeah, like it's you know, I posted it's good to
- 55:42Speaker 23: be home and uh, you know, I was happy to
- 55:44Speaker 23: be home, uh and be there and it's so happy
- 55:49Speaker 23: they were playing the Lakers, right, And of course you
- 55:51Speaker 23: know from you know, the Long Beach area, La County area,
- 55:55Speaker 23: so the Lakers are a fixture, you know in that area,
- 55:59Speaker 23: and it's my team. I like the Lakers as well.
- 56:01Speaker 23: Used to be a season ticket holder, so I was
- 56:06Speaker 23: just enjoying it. Man, I hadn't been to a Celtics
- 56:09Speaker 23: game in a while, so just enjoying it.
- 56:11Speaker 19: Energy there isn't it.
- 56:12Speaker 11: Very good energy, very good energy. Team looks good.
- 56:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 56:15Speaker 11: I mean.
- 56:17Speaker 23: A lot of a lot of the players didn't play.
- 56:20Speaker 23: We didn't see the matchup, so we thought we were
- 56:21Speaker 23: going to see. But I mean still being there. I mean,
- 56:25Speaker 23: the the TV is different than the old you know,
- 56:30Speaker 23: the garden. Yeah, I mean I remember going to the
- 56:32Speaker 23: garden and now it's like the way you enter is different.
- 56:37Speaker 23: I was just kind of like, you know, looking around.
- 56:38Speaker 23: It's it's super nice. It's a beautiful place.
- 56:41Speaker 19: Can you imagine there's somebody who remembers the garden?
- 56:43Speaker 4: Paul, Yeah, we don't have that many. Only people like
- 56:46Speaker 4: us exactly. So let's get into it.
- 56:48Speaker 19: Willie, you too mentioned it's southern cal kid. And what
- 56:53Speaker 19: did you know if anything about the Patriots other than
- 56:56Speaker 19: that they were kind of in the league, and Paul
- 56:58Speaker 19: and I would talking about just beforehand, was Dallas in
- 57:00Speaker 19: on you?
- 57:01Speaker 2: Was Jerry thinking that he was going to get you?
- 57:03Speaker 23: I thought I was going we had, Yeah, I had
- 57:05Speaker 23: Dallas Cowboy representatives at my draft party, and I elected
- 57:11Speaker 23: not to go to New York. You know how that goes.
- 57:13Speaker 23: So you never know where you're going to go in
- 57:14Speaker 23: the draft. But I elected not to go to New York.
- 57:17Speaker 23: Have a party with all my friends and family, just
- 57:20Speaker 23: you know, something intimate and fun. And I had three
- 57:23Speaker 23: Dallas Cowboy representatives at my draft party. And the deal
- 57:29Speaker 23: was that they were going to move up. I think
- 57:32Speaker 23: they had like the twenty sixth pick or whatever. They
- 57:35Speaker 23: were going to trade Harper the receiver, and they were
- 57:39Speaker 23: going to take me with the fifth pick they had that.
- 57:44Speaker 23: I remember the hat, the Dallas Cowboy hat was there, everything,
- 57:48Speaker 23: and they were going to take me. I remember coming
- 57:51Speaker 23: in from my visit with Parsales. We had one visit.
- 57:53Speaker 23: We had one good meeting.
- 57:55Speaker 11: It was great.
- 57:55Speaker 23: But I didn't hear anything else from the Patriots after that.
- 57:58Speaker 23: So I thought I was going to be a cowboy. Honestly,
- 58:03Speaker 23: I was waiting to be a cowboy. And then when
- 58:05Speaker 23: well my name was called fourth, every I just kind
- 58:08Speaker 23: of everybody just kind of looked around. They looked a
- 58:10Speaker 23: little confused, picked up the stuff left, and I remember
- 58:18Speaker 23: watching the screen because they had the screen on on
- 58:21Speaker 23: Jerry and he slammed the table or slammed the phone
- 58:24Speaker 23: or something and uh parcels calls and I was just like,
- 58:28Speaker 23: what said New England? What the hell is New England?
- 58:32Speaker 23: Like where am I going? Because you know, I know
- 58:34Speaker 23: Drew how went there. I played against Drew in college
- 58:37Speaker 23: Washington State. But I would just it wasn't on my radar,
- 58:41Speaker 23: so I was thrown off.
- 58:42Speaker 4: Good memory, Matt, you had that one.
- 58:44Speaker 2: Now were you?
- 58:45Speaker 19: Were you disappointed or did the hey I'm going to
- 58:47Speaker 19: the NFL kind of overtake maybe any of the discipline.
- 58:50Speaker 23: Now, I didn't have a favorite team I wanted to
- 58:52Speaker 23: go to. I mean, of course I knew about the
- 58:54Speaker 23: Dallas Cowboys more than I do because they were winning.
- 58:56Speaker 23: You know that they want to wear a couple of
- 58:58Speaker 23: Super Bowls just prior to that. But I wasn't sitting there,
- 59:03Speaker 23: Oh I gotta I have to go to this team.
- 59:05Speaker 23: I think it's a little different now. These these guys,
- 59:07Speaker 23: they was like, well, I don't want to get drafted
- 59:09Speaker 23: by this team or that team. I was just happy
- 59:11Speaker 23: and fortunate because of where I came from, and you know,
- 59:15Speaker 23: everything you go through and being the first in your
- 59:18Speaker 23: family to graduate college and to be, you know, a
- 59:22Speaker 23: position to get drafted was such an honor. So I
- 59:25Speaker 23: was just I was just excited once I found out
- 59:28Speaker 23: where everything was and I talked to par Sales, Hey,
- 59:32Speaker 23: the party started.
- 59:33Speaker 4: Our first thing for me, Matt is that I don't
- 59:35Speaker 4: know if you catch this, but Willy was well ahead
- 59:38Speaker 4: of the game when he came to branding. You know,
- 59:40Speaker 4: he's got his own party going New York. I'm doing
- 59:43Speaker 4: my own thing.
- 59:43Speaker 11: Now.
- 59:44Speaker 4: Everybody does that.
- 59:44Speaker 11: Now, everybody's kind of doing right.
- 59:46Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, you're well ahead of the curve in terms
- 59:49Speaker 4: of worrying about Willie as opposed to the NFL at
- 59:53Speaker 4: the start. The Parcels thing though, that I think you
- 59:55Speaker 4: were going to start. It just seems to me from
- 59:58Speaker 4: afar like you wanted the you know, big athletic outside
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: linebacker right out of Parcells's playbook. That's exactly what he's
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: looking for. It seemed like a perfect fit.
- 1:00:10Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:00:12Speaker 23: And when when Parcelles went into the Patriots Hall of Fame,
- 1:00:15Speaker 23: we talked about that his evaluation, like when he evaluated
- 1:00:20Speaker 23: players before he became a head coach, Like when he
- 1:00:23Speaker 23: used to evaluate players and the style and type and
- 1:00:27Speaker 23: proto type of players that he used to you know,
- 1:00:29Speaker 23: scout and bring in and and want on his team.
- 1:00:32Speaker 23: And then when you look at the Giants team that
- 1:00:33Speaker 23: he won a couple of Super Bowls with with that staff,
- 1:00:37Speaker 23: and uh, that's that's that's that's the type. That's the prototype.
- 1:00:42Speaker 23: The big, the fast, the physical guys like yeah, like
- 1:00:47Speaker 23: Pepper and LT and and all those guys and the
- 1:00:50Speaker 23: big d ns like that was just him. And then
- 1:00:53Speaker 23: when you got drafted, when I got drafted and got here,
- 1:00:56Speaker 23: there are a lot of Giants you know that were
- 1:00:59Speaker 23: on the team that he brought over. You know that
- 1:01:02Speaker 23: that kind of fit the bill for him.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: R KK always bragged that you're his first.
- 1:01:08Speaker 11: Yeah, first pick, Yeah, when he bought the team.
- 1:01:11Speaker 19: Yeah, that's a nice little son, right, Yeah, that's that's
- 1:01:14Speaker 19: a lot there's a lot of those, by the way,
- 1:01:17Speaker 19: but that's a nice little thing to know that you
- 1:01:18Speaker 19: were his first you know that in his ownership.
- 1:01:21Speaker 11: You're the first guy, you know, Yeah, it started. That
- 1:01:24Speaker 11: was great.
- 1:01:25Speaker 19: Why was it important to you WILLI to be here
- 1:01:27Speaker 19: when Parcels went into the Hall of Fame? Was it
- 1:01:29Speaker 19: just like representing him.
- 1:01:31Speaker 23: To support Yeah, I mean it's like he you know,
- 1:01:36Speaker 23: when when you when you travel through this NFL life
- 1:01:39Speaker 23: and you've come across so many you know, guys that
- 1:01:41Speaker 23: you've played with and that coached you and you work with,
- 1:01:47Speaker 23: and you know, he he took a chance on me
- 1:01:49Speaker 23: in the draft, like he drafted me, and he believed
- 1:01:52Speaker 23: in me, and you know, I just remember coming in
- 1:02:00Speaker 23: as a young rookie and not really knowing what to
- 1:02:03Speaker 23: expect and having a guy like that. I was comfortable
- 1:02:07Speaker 23: because I was used to those type of coaches and
- 1:02:10Speaker 23: I had, you know, I didn't have to end skin.
- 1:02:12Speaker 23: I was like, I took the coaches like that. That
- 1:02:15Speaker 23: was you know, that was bruly honest. That was brash,
- 1:02:17Speaker 23: that getting your face and do all that. But then
- 1:02:20Speaker 23: I'll you know that, I'll love you up at the
- 1:02:22Speaker 23: same time. And Lawrence Taylor was one of my favorite players,
- 1:02:28Speaker 23: you know, growing up, you know, along with Tippett, you know,
- 1:02:32Speaker 23: and Derek Thomas and a couple other guys. So you
- 1:02:35Speaker 23: coach the greatest you know, in my opinion, and the
- 1:02:39Speaker 23: greatest you know player defensive player to do it in
- 1:02:42Speaker 23: my position and just our interaction and just like I said,
- 1:02:47Speaker 23: giving me a shot and believing in me. That's you
- 1:02:50Speaker 23: know that that says a lot. And then our relationship
- 1:02:53Speaker 23: once I got here, and.
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: You guys had a lot of success. You know, right
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: out of the shoot ninety four, your rookie year, you
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: guys end up, you know, being being a playoff team.
- 1:03:02Speaker 11: I guess who.
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: Yeah, now we all remember. You know, you'd be amazed
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: how much Bill Parcells remembered each and every detail of
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: that loss.
- 1:03:10Speaker 11: Really he was talking.
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: About talking about, you know, a crossing route to Ray
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: Crittin and that went off his face and picked off,
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: you know, and we were going in.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: To take the lead.
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: And I mean the attention to detail from a game
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: whatever thirty five years.
- 1:03:24Speaker 23: It was a physical It was a physical game. It
- 1:03:26Speaker 23: was a great game. And that team was kind of
- 1:03:31Speaker 23: built like the Giants. You know, Pepper was on that team.
- 1:03:35Speaker 23: I remember Eric Turner, the late great Eric Turner, big safeties,
- 1:03:39Speaker 23: big linebackers. I think was pleasant over there at the time.
- 1:03:43Speaker 7: He was.
- 1:03:43Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean they kind of looked like us.
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: And now great moments in.
- 1:03:54Speaker 11: History.
- 1:03:55Speaker 7: You know what else bothered me is that I didn't
- 1:03:57Speaker 7: study it is Delane Johnson the tweet of him being
- 1:04:00Speaker 7: like gonna have some fun in a couple of weeks
- 1:04:02Speaker 7: at the link, and that means my blood boil that one.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: Let's say, all right, come on, let's go like really really,
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: that's what.
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: Really bothered me when Nick Boyle said, we'll see how
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: they are when we play them. Yeah, hen they then
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: they gave up thirty seven points. Yeah, that really bothered Well,
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: you like that. I don't like any of it. I
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: don't dislike any of it. It doesn't really come on
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: my radar. Nothing these guys say affects anything that happens
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: on the field. I'm very consistent with that. I don't
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: care that he mouthed off before the game, and I
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: don't care that that didn't have any impact on the game.
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: You guys, I care.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: That's the lifeblood for.
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: Hater makes it.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: We actually enjoy sports.
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: We get into.
- 1:04:44Speaker 12: You.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: But you can't take a picture after the game.
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: Your your enjoyment of sports really shines through when you're
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: disgusted with the team.
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: And there's etiquette that and you and Broke have on
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: but not too much.
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: That's another great moment.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: All right back here and Patriots on filter day five
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: to five past five hundred is the hotline, and no, no,
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: we're gonna do it later. We're gonna do it later.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Yeah, we're gonna do it after Avaiable.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: What makes you think we're gonna have time late. We're
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: gonna do picks today.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: I don't know what are we gonna do?
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: You want to do it? Yeah, we're gonna do it.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: I mean it, will do it again if if he comes.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: It's only one oh five.
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: We got let's do it quick.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: It's time for the co Pilot Question of the Week,
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: presented by Microsoft co Pilot.
- 1:05:30Speaker 7: Every day is game Day, and whatevery decision is powered
- 1:05:33Speaker 7: by Insight Innovation micro Microsoft technology helps to make decisions faster,
- 1:05:37Speaker 7: insight sharper, and strategies more adaptive.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: Guys, I had some fun today Paul's will making fun
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: of me.
- 1:05:42Speaker 7: You know about the Dolphins beating the Patriots in December
- 1:05:46Speaker 7: and affecting their their playoff seed. So today's Copilot question
- 1:05:49Speaker 7: of the week is how many times have the Dolphins
- 1:05:51Speaker 7: actually beat the Patriots in December and affected their playoff.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: CD and eligibility, et cetera.
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: I would say too, I'd say a few times they've
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: affected the seating, but I don't know exactly how many.
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: I thought you were going to say in Foxboro.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: Oh no, no, no, just generally because there was a
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: pretty famous one.
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: Stephen Jackson game. The Corpse of Stephen Jackson game was
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: a December of the one here yeah, Miami, Well that's
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: the Ryan Fitzpatrick game that he was talking about.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: Well, I don't did I don't think did that. I
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: don't know if that one affected there. I don't know
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: if that affected them. The loss that the seam.
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: Stephen Jackson game affected their seating absolutely.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: Great, chob cole Pilot, you're wrong.
- 1:06:31Speaker 9: No match for puls.
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: I believe that was the Corpse of Stephen Jackson game
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: was in my infamous twenty fifteen rants where Bill's self
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: destructed down the stretch and had they lose the number
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: of coppers the mortar kick we're going to kick off
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: in overtime, and then the Stephen Jackson game they lost
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: for their last six games.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: Now, maybe that's why Chashi didn't get it. It was
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: not specifically that.
- 1:07:00Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: Maybe the damage had been done.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: No, sorry, they're all powered by the way, all right.
- 1:07:06Speaker 7: So twenty eighteen, the gronk that didn't affect kickoff said
- 1:07:11Speaker 7: they lost the number one seed on that one, but
- 1:07:14Speaker 7: they still had a they still got to buy.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: We went to Kansas City for the AC Championship.
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: And that's why if they won that game, they wouldn't
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: have had to go to Kansas City, don't Okay, Yeah,
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: that's that's one.
- 1:07:26Speaker 7: Twenty nineteen was the one I famously brought up where
- 1:07:28Speaker 7: they lost the number two seed and fell to them.
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: That's someone that star job for life, evidently.
- 1:07:36Speaker 7: And then twenty twenty they actually uh New England's loss
- 1:07:38Speaker 7: officially eliminated them from the playoffs against Miami at the
- 1:07:42Speaker 7: end of twenty twenty a couple.
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: Other ones two.
- 1:07:46Speaker 7: I do not believe that that's actor No, but it
- 1:07:49Speaker 7: did drop them to like I think seven and nine.
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: I think it was.
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: That was the last game of the year they could
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: have made the playoffs.
- 1:07:56Speaker 7: It's the second and last maybe sorry, I think they
- 1:07:58Speaker 7: ended up seven to nine that year.
- 1:07:59Speaker 18: Maybe.
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: Oh, okay, so that was the game that eliminated from
- 1:08:02Speaker 4: the playoffs. Okay, what about wait, oh wait the loss? No,
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: they at home. They they lost at home, but that
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: was like week three or four.
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: Yeah, six, wild the wild the Wildcat.
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: Game was eight. Yeah, that was very early in the sky.
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: Then they won in Miami later in the season, Matt
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: Castle threw for over four hundred yards in case you
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: want to take notes there.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Two thousand and six, they did lose twenty.
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: One, so what maybe eight it was Miami won a
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: game late that knocked us out of the playoffs.
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: Miami beat the Jets, right, and that knocked us out
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: at the medals, right.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: Yeah, they also lost.
- 1:08:39Speaker 7: Them down the stretch and nine, but they still uh
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: finished in the number three seed.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: So there you go.
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: Okay, we banged it out all right, maybe not sound
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: lost down the stretch and nine. I'm intrigued by this
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: game twenty one.
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: Not twenty two, twenty one, twenty two to twenty one.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: To see this no recollection. Nine the lost year.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: I thought year, it was crazy.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: My last year is twenty fifteen.
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: Yeah, twenty two. I'm telling you that was the beginning
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: of the end for Bill Belichick. And I know it
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: sounds ridiculous. He's stupid because he won like two more
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: Super Bowls, But that I'm telling you that was a
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: self destruction Unlike anything I've ever seen. Some of the
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: coaching decisions.
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: It was something going on that year or toward the
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: end of the season with him.
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: Is that the year that Jordan was born?
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: Maybe oh six?
- 1:09:35Speaker 9: Imagine something something.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: To do with astrology here, I can see.
- 1:09:40Speaker 9: Maybe let's go to grand It.
- 1:09:46Speaker 7: You barked on players thinking good decisions.
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: How disappointing is it to have.
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: To deal with this type of distraction evolving two players.
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: With alleged cases against them?
- 1:10:03Speaker 13: You know right now?
- 1:10:04Speaker 12: Sure?
- 1:10:04Speaker 6: Well, I would say not disappointing at all. I think that.
- 1:10:09Speaker 14: You know, these are allegations, like you mentioned in your question, Uh,
- 1:10:15Speaker 14: it's things that we have to handle. And every day
- 1:10:18Speaker 14: that there's distractions, some are smaller than others. And you
- 1:10:24Speaker 14: know confident that you know, we'll focus on the Dolphins
- 1:10:29Speaker 14: and you know those two individuals that you mentioned. Will
- 1:10:33Speaker 14: you be able to you know, handle the ongoing legal
- 1:10:37Speaker 14: process it's.
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: Outside of the lot like you handle it.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: Will the being team discappointed.
- 1:10:43Speaker 8: As far as yourn?
- 1:10:45Speaker 14: Oh again, there's ongoing, uh, you know, legal matter, and
- 1:10:48Speaker 14: these again are allegations, and you know we've made a statement,
- 1:10:52Speaker 14: we've taken the allegations very seriously. And what comes of that,
- 1:10:57Speaker 14: I think then we'll have another discussion. But you know,
- 1:11:01Speaker 14: I don't think we have to. You don't jump to
- 1:11:05Speaker 14: any sort of conclusions right now and let the process
- 1:11:09Speaker 14: take a take.
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: It still the availability of both players.
- 1:11:14Speaker 14: Christians away with the illness today and so I would
- 1:11:17Speaker 14: say that his availability for practice, he won't be out there, but.
- 1:11:24Speaker 6: No, I haven't. I haven't heard anything that would keep
- 1:11:28Speaker 6: either player from the game.
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: Mike as a.
- 1:11:30Speaker 14: Coach and coaching staff, in light of all of this,
- 1:11:34Speaker 14: how do you keep your players focused on Miami and
- 1:11:37Speaker 14: the matters at hand on the field is there?
- 1:11:40Speaker 23: How do you do it?
- 1:11:41Speaker 14: A special focus or no different than we've done every
- 1:11:44Speaker 14: single week. We come in on Wednesday, we tried to
- 1:11:47Speaker 14: learn the personnel, talk about the Dolphins that have five
- 1:11:52Speaker 14: and two in their last seven games, have turned the
- 1:11:54Speaker 14: ball over, you know, created thirteen turnovers in those five wins.
- 1:12:00Speaker 14: Running back that's first in the league, and yards per
- 1:12:03Speaker 14: carry and yards after contact and explosive runs, and there's
- 1:12:08Speaker 14: some young defensive linemen that are really improving and playing well.
- 1:12:12Speaker 14: That was our focus this morning and trying to to
- 1:12:16Speaker 14: prepare for our opponent and put the game plan in
- 1:12:18Speaker 14: and we'll practice and but that's.
- 1:12:21Speaker 6: What we do every single Wednesday and Thursday and Friday.
- 1:12:24Speaker 6: Do you feel as though the team has a comprehensive
- 1:12:27Speaker 6: understanding of both incidents.
- 1:12:29Speaker 9: Are still in the process of gathering more.
- 1:12:31Speaker 14: Well, we always want to gather more information. But you know,
- 1:12:35Speaker 14: these are you know, we we've been aware of these allegations.
- 1:12:41Speaker 14: It wasn't the yesterday and today isn't the first that
- 1:12:44Speaker 14: we've you know, heard about them, and try to do
- 1:12:51Speaker 14: everything in accordance with with the league policy and making
- 1:12:56Speaker 14: sure that the league, you know, that weren't con clients
- 1:13:00Speaker 14: with the league.
- 1:13:02Speaker 24: I thought the team Steven said that you guys were aware,
- 1:13:05Speaker 24: you know, August about the barrow more allegations.
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: Is that not not true?
- 1:13:11Speaker 14: Again, I'm not really sure the timeline there's been, you know,
- 1:13:15Speaker 14: when when when we've been able to you know, find
- 1:13:20Speaker 14: out what the information was. These are things that, like
- 1:13:23Speaker 14: I said, these aren't a surprise that today and yesterday
- 1:13:26Speaker 14: this came out when when they you know, we're able
- 1:13:32Speaker 14: to you know, make us aware from the court filings
- 1:13:37Speaker 14: and some things like that. So those are all things
- 1:13:40Speaker 14: again would handle with the respect of the court in
- 1:13:43Speaker 14: the process and the ongoing. So we just have to
- 1:13:46Speaker 14: be and again I know, want to be respectful of
- 1:13:48Speaker 14: what you guys have to do, but we also have
- 1:13:51Speaker 14: to be respectful of what our players are trying to
- 1:13:53Speaker 14: do and what we're trying to do as a coaching staff.
- 1:13:55Speaker 14: We started this thing in Miami. You know, I didn't
- 1:13:58Speaker 14: do a very good job against Oakland or Vegas, and
- 1:14:03Speaker 14: we were able to start it against Miami. And we're
- 1:14:04Speaker 14: hoping to do everything that we can to finish the
- 1:14:07Speaker 14: regular season really strong against Miami.
- 1:14:09Speaker 4: Are you afraid of these will become distracted?
- 1:14:11Speaker 6: Afraid? No, not afraid. I'm fifty years old and going
- 1:14:15Speaker 6: to be fifty one. I'm not afraid.
- 1:14:16Speaker 14: I love coaching this football team, and I love the
- 1:14:22Speaker 14: way that they come to work. I love the youth,
- 1:14:25Speaker 14: I love the veterans, I love the leadership, and I
- 1:14:28Speaker 14: really have appreciated everyone's growth throughout this entire process.
- 1:14:33Speaker 6: I think that's the thing that I really enjoy is just.
- 1:14:37Speaker 14: You know, guys like Trayvon and Kyle being excited and
- 1:14:40Speaker 14: Will being excited about coming back, and on our quarterback
- 1:14:44Speaker 14: and the way you know, Drake has grown, but our
- 1:14:46Speaker 14: veteran leadership from from Steph and Morgan and Garrett on offense,
- 1:14:50Speaker 14: and you know the consistency that Big MIC's had and Hunter,
- 1:14:54Speaker 14: we talked about his consistency that that's what I want
- 1:14:57Speaker 14: the best for these guys on the field and off.
- 1:14:59Speaker 25: The USA said was released yesterday about Diggs in relationship
- 1:15:04Speaker 25: momentic situation, it's as we support stuff that.
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: What does that mean.
- 1:15:10Speaker 6: That everybody that we.
- 1:15:13Speaker 14: Care about and that we have been close to for
- 1:15:15Speaker 14: a while, that that we support and we do and
- 1:15:21Speaker 14: we understand that there's allegations, but we also want to
- 1:15:26Speaker 14: support each and every player, and each and every coach
- 1:15:28Speaker 14: and each and every staff member a lot on Brooks.
- 1:15:32Speaker 4: This year, young players, do you talk to your captains
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: to be able to talk to the team in order
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: to try to, you know, keep this on the back burner.
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: Do you address the team personally?
- 1:15:40Speaker 24: No?
- 1:15:40Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean yes, I talked to the team.
- 1:15:42Speaker 14: I talked to the team about you know, making sure
- 1:15:45Speaker 14: that we speak for ourselves and if if Steph and
- 1:15:48Speaker 14: Christian have something to say, I support that, but we're
- 1:15:53Speaker 14: also gonna, you know, I think, speak for ourselves and
- 1:15:56Speaker 14: make sure that you know, they are focused on what
- 1:15:59Speaker 14: they have to do and the improvements that they have
- 1:16:01Speaker 14: to make. The focus this week is improved through practice
- 1:16:06Speaker 14: and try to finish what we started.
- 1:16:08Speaker 25: The police report Fantash to the charge against Christian. His
- 1:16:11Speaker 25: accuser describes being thrown to the ground in front of
- 1:16:15Speaker 25: their child and then calling a car service that the
- 1:16:17Speaker 25: team provides taking her to Delaware, and then she provides
- 1:16:20Speaker 25: photos of bruises after being thrown to the ground to police.
- 1:16:23Speaker 25: Those photos were added to the report. In the statement,
- 1:16:25Speaker 25: you said you guys were aware at the time of
- 1:16:27Speaker 25: the incident in August.
- 1:16:28Speaker 15: Since then, what has.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: Made you comfortable to continue putting Christian out.
- 1:16:31Speaker 14: Of practice and in games and just allegations And we
- 1:16:35Speaker 14: want to make sure that the court. You know that
- 1:16:36Speaker 14: those ongoing court proceedings, and once those are satisfied, then
- 1:16:42Speaker 14: you know, we'll come to whatever conclusion and whatever decision
- 1:16:45Speaker 14: that we have to make. And we'll also stay committed
- 1:16:48Speaker 14: to our preparation near with Miami and making sure that
- 1:16:52Speaker 14: everybody's ready to go, who whoever plays on Sunday. The
- 1:16:58Speaker 14: NFL hasn't told me anything, so I don't want to
- 1:17:00Speaker 14: waste your time on that. I haven't had a call
- 1:17:02Speaker 14: with the NFL coach.
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: Historically, the team has dealt with outside noise in the past.
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: What's sort of your message The team.
- 1:17:09Speaker 6: Around times like this one.
- 1:17:13Speaker 14: Improved through practice and finish what we started and speak
- 1:17:17Speaker 14: for yourself and again, so that's that's what we've talked about.
- 1:17:21Speaker 14: That's that was my message, and we'll continue to do that.
- 1:17:25Speaker 14: Can't worry about playoff scenarios and a lot of what ifs.
- 1:17:29Speaker 14: We're going to focus on, you know, trying to make
- 1:17:31Speaker 14: sure that we're as prepared for a team that we
- 1:17:34Speaker 14: haven't played.
- 1:17:35Speaker 6: There they're a lot different and.
- 1:17:36Speaker 14: I think that we're a lot different than then what
- 1:17:39Speaker 14: the two teams that played in September or playing this week.
- 1:17:43Speaker 14: Of course, anybody that's healthy, we're gonna we're going to
- 1:17:46Speaker 14: do everything we can to win the football game.
- 1:17:48Speaker 6: But if there come on.
- 1:17:52Speaker 14: Campbell today, yes, will Alex Austin will be out there,
- 1:17:58Speaker 14: see how he looks and see where Milt Milt is
- 1:18:02Speaker 14: from last week.
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: How much do you take into account individual achievements in
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: this final game, whether it's hitting certain incentives for individual
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: players or an award maybe.
- 1:18:13Speaker 14: Being at stake like MVP, if it's anything that can
- 1:18:17Speaker 14: help the team win, I'm all in favor of. We've
- 1:18:20Speaker 14: talked about this, maybe I don't know, three or four
- 1:18:23Speaker 14: weeks ago, about you know, chasing wins and not plays
- 1:18:27Speaker 14: and so that that I want those to all align.
- 1:18:31Speaker 14: And I'm and I can always appreciate, you know, production,
- 1:18:36Speaker 14: I get it, whether that's tackles, playtime, sacks, catches, touchdowns,
- 1:18:43Speaker 14: But really what I'm focused on is wins, and I
- 1:18:45Speaker 14: have to try to balance that, you know, between individual
- 1:18:51Speaker 14: players and then units and then a team.
- 1:18:54Speaker 25: Released about Stefan dig Zoo has mentioned that, you know,
- 1:18:56Speaker 25: he has categorically denied those allegations to the team. No
- 1:19:00Speaker 25: such mentioned was in the same in regard to Christians.
- 1:19:02Speaker 25: Heat denied the incident as described in the police.
- 1:19:04Speaker 14: Yeah, I'm not going to focus on any of the
- 1:19:06Speaker 14: conversations that you know, we've had with the with the
- 1:19:09Speaker 14: players or I've had with players, and so I'm gonna
- 1:19:14Speaker 14: let the ongoing court process take its course and I'm
- 1:19:17Speaker 14: going to focus on the Dolphins and focus on coaching
- 1:19:20Speaker 14: this football team and and the guys that are healthy
- 1:19:23Speaker 14: enough to be.
- 1:19:23Speaker 6: Out there.
- 1:19:25Speaker 24: Ride in the Delaware Does the Does the team routinely
- 1:19:29Speaker 24: offer car service to players, loved ones, family members, wives,
- 1:19:33Speaker 24: or girlfriends.
- 1:19:35Speaker 10: Uh?
- 1:19:36Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't know that is the case.
- 1:19:41Speaker 14: I'm not you know, I just since two thousand and one,
- 1:19:46Speaker 14: probably had the same company When I go to the airport.
- 1:19:50Speaker 14: Take me whether I was a player or a coach here,
- 1:19:53Speaker 14: So I don't know. I can't comment on that. Apologize
- 1:19:57Speaker 14: my last question about PU.
- 1:20:00Speaker 12: Twenty five to thirty guys came back from a year
- 1:20:02Speaker 12: ago on the roster, and maybe five or six of
- 1:20:05Speaker 12: them were assigned to contracts. I more want to talk
- 1:20:09Speaker 12: with Jalen Hawkins the decision to bring him back. He
- 1:20:14Speaker 12: was in March, so you didn't sound like you. I
- 1:20:17Speaker 12: don't know how well you got to know him over
- 1:20:19Speaker 12: in the first few months, but can you talk about
- 1:20:21Speaker 12: the decision to bring him back?
- 1:20:22Speaker 14: And then yep, I would say that through Jeremy Springer
- 1:20:26Speaker 14: and Tom Quinn's efforts to explain to me their group
- 1:20:31Speaker 14: of core guys, he kept coming up. He had to
- 1:20:34Speaker 14: play defense, but he was on every single special team,
- 1:20:38Speaker 14: was the wing. I think they described him as a
- 1:20:41Speaker 14: selfless player who would do anything that he could to
- 1:20:45Speaker 14: help the football team and was playing a lot of defense.
- 1:20:49Speaker 6: Seemed like a veteran guy that we would want to
- 1:20:51Speaker 6: have around.
- 1:20:52Speaker 14: And then in the conversations that we had with me
- 1:20:55Speaker 14: and Elliott and Ryan and Stretched, it was.
- 1:20:58Speaker 6: Excited to be able to bring them back.
- 1:21:00Speaker 14: He's earned everything that he's that he has now with
- 1:21:04Speaker 14: the production, the playtime keeps working.
- 1:21:07Speaker 6: It means a lot to him.
- 1:21:09Speaker 14: He's a fun guy to coach, and I'm happy that
- 1:21:11Speaker 14: he's having, you know, success, So appreciate the time here, guys,
- 1:21:16Speaker 14: and we'll see here in a couples.
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: All right. That was Mike Vrabel with his one ten
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: press conference on a Wednesday, addressing you know, the news
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: about Barmore and Diggs. So we'll leave it at that.
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: But you know, I thought there were good questions by
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: the media.
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought there were, you know, some fair questions.
- 1:21:35Speaker 4: I don't think that they have much more information than
- 1:21:38Speaker 4: they released in the in the statements, so I don't
- 1:21:40Speaker 4: think we got any resolutions. It certainly seems that all
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: systems football wise for those two are ago yep, unless
- 1:21:48Speaker 4: we learn more from the coming days. But I would,
- 1:21:51Speaker 4: based on the way Mike sounded, I would expect those
- 1:21:53Speaker 4: two guys to be part of the equation on Sunday.
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: I think he pretty much said that. He said he
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: said that from what we know, they'll be out there.
- 1:22:01Speaker 4: So in that regard, I guess you could take that
- 1:22:03Speaker 4: as good news.
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: You know, for the team.
- 1:22:05Speaker 11: Yep.
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: So that's that and not a lot of other talk
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: but beyond that.
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: So no, he did mention that I think there was
- 1:22:14Speaker 4: a question about personnel use on Sunday, and he indicated that,
- 1:22:18Speaker 4: you know, the healthy guys will play.
- 1:22:20Speaker 11: You know, that's.
- 1:22:23Speaker 4: I think that makes sense. I think there's still something
- 1:22:25Speaker 4: to play for. I think the difference between the two
- 1:22:27Speaker 4: and the three seed forgetting about. You know, you'd really
- 1:22:31Speaker 4: kick yourself if Denver would have stubbed their toe and
- 1:22:34Speaker 4: lose that game and you sat everybody and lost out
- 1:22:38Speaker 4: in a chance to move up. But I think there's
- 1:22:40Speaker 4: value in just holding serve and making sure you win
- 1:22:43Speaker 4: to keep the two seed too. So I'm not surprised
- 1:22:46Speaker 4: that Mike's gonna play these guys.
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: Mike went to the locker room just to get the vibe,
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: so he'll come back and give us his reporter. And
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: then the of course, the I on Evan sponsored by
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: g Barbershaw.
- 1:23:02Speaker 9: You shouldn't actually sell sponsorship.
- 1:23:04Speaker 23: To that.
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: Norman daytona beach. Hey, Fred, I guess I lucked out.
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: I never received my free gift from AARP and the
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: discounts aren't worth a hill of beans. So there you go.
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: Now I'm gonna have aarp on my back. It's a
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: big lobby. I guess all right, it's a lot of
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: old people on my lunch shaking their canes and stuff.
- 1:23:24Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: What you are special shaking Jordan Jordan from Vermont. First,
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: I can't recommend Aarons enough. One piece to note if
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: you you have to go with the Arrans s h
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: o models if you live in New England, need that
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: additional power to clear away the nor'easters. I actually had
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: my errands out for the first time this year.
- 1:23:48Speaker 4: Did you really Yeah at the other day.
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: Yeah, we got a lot of snow down the cape.
- 1:23:52Speaker 4: Oh okay, yeah, I didn't get Yeah, I didn't get much.
- 1:23:54Speaker 4: And it was real.
- 1:23:55Speaker 6: It was so cold.
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: It was so light and fluffy that it was like
- 1:23:58Speaker 4: a breeze.
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: And let me tell you something about my Arrans. I've
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: had it for like eight nine years.
- 1:24:03Speaker 9: You don't even put it in a shed.
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: I don't have a I don't have a garage, so
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: I keep it out all year with a cover on it,
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: but doesn't do much. And the things started right up.
- 1:24:14Speaker 9: So love that for you.
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: Yeah, although I have to adjust the shoes a little.
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: I'm getting a little fight regarding the Mac to ir designation,
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: it seems Drake spread the ball out a bit more
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: against the Jets. I love Mac, He's been a great addition,
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: but it seems like Drake can key in on him occasionally.
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: Did we get some addition by subtraction?
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: No, No, I think Drake's done a great job was
- 1:24:39Speaker 4: writing the ball around all season long. I didn't notice
- 1:24:42Speaker 4: any difference in that regard. I mean you could look
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: at it and say, like he had five touchdowns to
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: five different guys, But just looking at the receptions list
- 1:24:50Speaker 4: in front of me, so Diggs is Claire, you know
- 1:24:52Speaker 4: he's eighty two catches. Then it's Hunter, Henry at fifty five,
- 1:24:56Speaker 4: Holland's forty six, Henderson thirty five, Booty thirty one, on
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: Stevenson thirty like Douglas twenty nine. These guys have been Yeah,
- 1:25:04Speaker 4: he's spread the ball around all year. I don't think
- 1:25:07Speaker 4: it's good to have a guy that has been part
- 1:25:10Speaker 4: of that. Then it's easier to take it away, right
- 1:25:12Speaker 4: not being in the game. That's I don't think it
- 1:25:14Speaker 4: was additioned by subtraction.
- 1:25:15Speaker 10: Also, everybody's eating it's what Hollins brings to the table
- 1:25:18Speaker 10: that isn't just receiving patches.
- 1:25:20Speaker 6: You know what it was?
- 1:25:21Speaker 10: It Mike Gesicki a couple of years ago that called
- 1:25:23Speaker 10: them like the love of the game routes where you would.
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: Just go run out, and Josh McDaniels called him a
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: chess piece.
- 1:25:28Speaker 4: He's a good blocker too in the run game, and
- 1:25:30Speaker 4: I think they'll miss him in that regard to.
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: Yep, Jeremiah says in Curius and y'all opinion as reporters,
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: did you get annoyed when media asked the same question
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: rephrase expecting a different answer. I always been a pet
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: peeve of mine and just disappointed they didn't really talk
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: about the game at all or injured player status. Well
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: it's only Wednesday, so.
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: No, I don't get disappointed when you talking today specifically.
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so.
- 1:25:56Speaker 4: Yeah, the media had a job to do today. The
- 1:25:58Speaker 4: job was not to talk about the Miami game today. Yeah,
- 1:26:01Speaker 4: Like I'm not. I mean that's not necessarily but where
- 1:26:04Speaker 4: all about. We work for the team. It's a little different.
- 1:26:07Speaker 4: But those guys the story today is Digs and barmore.
- 1:26:10Speaker 10: Yeah, and they'll see Rabel again Friday, when this news
- 1:26:13Speaker 10: isn't relevant in front of everyone's.
- 1:26:15Speaker 4: Eye, and he was asked questions about injured guys, and
- 1:26:17Speaker 4: that's when Mike had the answer that the healthy guys
- 1:26:19Speaker 4: will play on Friday. As Alex just mentioned, he will
- 1:26:23Speaker 4: tell you if anybody is downgraded to out, he'll let
- 1:26:26Speaker 4: you know.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: He'll let you know what every week I get.
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: Like to me, it does seem like later in the
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: week than it is, like, doesn't Yeah, it seems like
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: a lot has happened this week, but it's only Wednesday,
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: so this is really the first day that they've been
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: out to practice, so a lot has happened, fortunately, right,
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: So we'll get our first participation report later today, but
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: they also have tomorrow and Friday to see how these
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: injured guys look out on the practice field, and we'll
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: get more, Like Paul said, on Friday, we'll get the
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: final determination of who's going to play.
- 1:26:56Speaker 4: And on Monday he did indicate that he expected to
- 1:26:58Speaker 4: have Will Campbell back at practice. You know, Milton Williams
- 1:27:02Speaker 4: was already back at practice last week, so you know
- 1:27:04Speaker 4: there's some progress there. We'll see. Maybe someone could have
- 1:27:08Speaker 4: asked them the status of like Booty and Jared Wilson,
- 1:27:11Speaker 4: who were in concussion protocol last week. I guess someone
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: could ask that, but I thought the questions for the
- 1:27:18Speaker 4: most part on the digs bar Moore stuff were relevant,
- 1:27:22Speaker 4: and I thought Verbel did a good job of answering
- 1:27:24Speaker 4: them as best as he could, because he probably doesn't
- 1:27:26Speaker 4: have all the information.
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: Jeff and Vancouver. Inspired by Fred's childlike curiosity about route names,
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: Reddit has explained like I'm five or ellis PU. Segment
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: could be for the newsletter. Explain like I'm Fred or Elf. Okay,
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: so you know all the route names Jeff and Vancouver. Okay,
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: tell me what Jacksonville calls you know there? You don't know,
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: Nobody knows. That's the point. These football teams they guard
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: it like it's you know, code, and that's how they
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: lord over us with their knowledge.
- 1:28:05Speaker 4: Well, I do think there's part of that, of course
- 1:28:08Speaker 4: it is. Do you remember the.
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: Old guy doing by the way, the.
- 1:28:11Speaker 4: Guy that used to call right angry. No, there's all
- 1:28:14Speaker 4: kinds of every every element. Business you're going you're going
- 1:28:18Speaker 4: to going to like a high level finance meeting, business meeting,
- 1:28:21Speaker 4: all the all the buzzwords come out.
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: Yeah, real estate a.
- 1:28:27Speaker 11: Yeah, all right.
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: We're waiting for Duce to get back. We're gonna have picks,
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: so we gotta hurry. There's a lot going on here.
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: Mike's in Puerto Rico. What's up, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike. Okay,
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: Mike is gone. I hope everything's all right. Kevin's in Florida.
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: What's up, Kevin? Kevin?
- 1:28:50Speaker 11: Hey?
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: Okay, we can.
- 1:28:54Speaker 4: All right? Hey?
- 1:28:55Speaker 26: Uh.
- 1:28:56Speaker 18: First off, I just want to mention longtime caller, love
- 1:28:59Speaker 18: seeing you guys evolved throughout the years. I remember the
- 1:29:02Speaker 18: last time I called it and I had asked if
- 1:29:04Speaker 18: you guys were ever planning on doing video podcasts for
- 1:29:07Speaker 18: all of your shows, and I'm glad you're doing that now.
- 1:29:09Speaker 13: You have a beautiful setup.
- 1:29:10Speaker 18: And it's just been amazing watching you guys growing involved.
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 1:29:13Speaker 25: I love you guys.
- 1:29:14Speaker 18: And the only other thing I wanted to mention, just
- 1:29:18Speaker 18: because I never call in, and I don't know whether
- 1:29:20Speaker 18: or not you guys have officially decided on it or not,
- 1:29:23Speaker 18: but I gotta.
- 1:29:23Speaker 27: Throw in my two cents.
- 1:29:25Speaker 18: I don't have anything completely against the Drake Drake May
- 1:29:29Speaker 18: May thing, but I just don't see how it could
- 1:29:32Speaker 18: work when announcing it on national television. I don't see
- 1:29:35Speaker 18: how it works in the crowd with a slow chat
- 1:29:38Speaker 18: or anything like that. Considering the fact that we have
- 1:29:41Speaker 18: such an accurate pastor with bombs downfield, I could definitely
- 1:29:46Speaker 18: picture Zolac following a game one day saying Drake May
- 1:29:50Speaker 18: with a fifty or Drake may Day with a fifty
- 1:29:53Speaker 18: yard bomb downfield, and not to mention the double meaning
- 1:29:57Speaker 18: of it too, like if it's having an incredible day
- 1:29:59Speaker 18: and and they just so happened to say, well, it's
- 1:30:01Speaker 18: looking like a Drake may Day today, And also just
- 1:30:07Speaker 18: imagining a slow chant of made a made a on
- 1:30:11Speaker 18: the field, like in the crowd. That kind of name works,
- 1:30:15Speaker 18: in my opinion. I don't care if it's taken by
- 1:30:17Speaker 18: somebody else. I feel like if a cycle Tom is
- 1:30:21Speaker 18: deserving of a nickname, I don't think there's anything too
- 1:30:24Speaker 18: cool about.
- 1:30:25Speaker 13: Drake to deserve his own moniker.
- 1:30:27Speaker 18: But that's just my two cents and all this and
- 1:30:29Speaker 18: all like.
- 1:30:29Speaker 4: Okay, thanks Kevin, and he's right, like that would lend
- 1:30:32Speaker 4: itself to a chant, but like what was the chant
- 1:30:35Speaker 4: for Brady right.
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: Bray Bray Bray right?
- 1:30:39Speaker 4: That was the chance like May May.
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: Drake May, do you even have it?
- 1:30:44Speaker 9: TV twelve?
- 1:30:45Speaker 4: I guess I'm go.
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: Nobody called him but no one called him go.
- 1:30:49Speaker 10: I think think people referred to him as TV twelve,
- 1:30:52Speaker 10: maybe not in this building, but like fans and stuff.
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: I mean in writing maybe, but I didn't he like, oh,
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: you know, TV twelve had.
- 1:31:01Speaker 4: A good game, but in the stands, the chant from
- 1:31:04Speaker 4: the crowd was always Brady. It was the Brady chance
- 1:31:07Speaker 4: and that would lend itself. You know may day that yeah,
- 1:31:11Speaker 4: that could work for a chance. But whatever, So Drake May.
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: Yeah, Drake May, Drake May Yeah, Okay, Drake Drake or.
- 1:31:23Speaker 9: Drake the dumb crap he has to entertain with us?
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: Drake, you don't have a nickname, Drake.
- 1:31:31Speaker 9: What's your favorite cookie? What's your favorite news?
- 1:31:33Speaker 11: Funny?
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: Zolac in the press conference, I don't think it was
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: in Baltimore. He was talking to somebody who was at
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: the podium and he was referring to Drake Maine. He
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: called him the kid. Uh yeah, Solac called him the kid.
- 1:31:50Speaker 4: Get up kid. He said that when he got hit
- 1:31:52Speaker 4: the other day, Get up kid.
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: Aaron's in Kentucky. What's up Aaron?
- 1:31:58Speaker 28: I was actually just on the last call going to
- 1:32:02Speaker 28: take credit for this, but earlier in the season. I've
- 1:32:05Speaker 28: seen a tweet and somebody had tweeted out Hogs from
- 1:32:07Speaker 28: Drake and they had catched it Drake and the schedule
- 1:32:13Speaker 28: made And.
- 1:32:14Speaker 15: I think that's a killer nickname.
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: What is the schedule?
- 1:32:18Speaker 11: The schedule?
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: I like, I don't mind that one. I think because
- 1:32:22Speaker 2: it's kind of like blind people like, you know, five
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: years from now, we're still calling him the schedule, reminding
- 1:32:29Speaker 2: people that in that year that they won the Super Bowl,
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: you were making fun.
- 1:32:33Speaker 4: Of five years that might be funny. Yeah, right now,
- 1:32:36Speaker 4: it's not.
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: I think it is. As long as they keep winning,
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: That's what I said.
- 1:32:40Speaker 4: In five years, it might be funny.
- 1:32:41Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, thanks thanks Aaron. People love that nick.
- 1:32:46Speaker 4: Alex doesn't approve either, Fred.
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: So you don't like the schedule?
- 1:32:51Speaker 9: That's a nickname?
- 1:32:52Speaker 10: Yeah, okay, we're just making stuff up to like it
- 1:32:58Speaker 10: sticks or it doesn't. The kid's been in the league
- 1:33:00Speaker 10: for going on two years now, and it can't be.
- 1:33:03Speaker 10: Whatever you have to this point is what it's going
- 1:33:05Speaker 10: to be.
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: And he can't be a nickname if his teammates don't
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: call it.
- 1:33:08Speaker 4: And a lot of guys don't have nicknames, right.
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: Your teammates have to call you that for it to
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: be your nickname, right.
- 1:33:14Speaker 9: I agree, it has to be organic and natural and
- 1:33:17Speaker 9: makes sense.
- 1:33:18Speaker 4: Yeah, and most like most nicknames are just something about
- 1:33:22Speaker 4: the name anyway. But you know, he's kind of got,
- 1:33:26Speaker 4: you know, two one syllable name, so you can't really
- 1:33:28Speaker 4: shorten it and make a nickname.
- 1:33:30Speaker 11: You know.
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: Now, if he played hockey, his name would be Drakie.
- 1:33:33Speaker 4: Yeah, wouldn't Yeah yeah, yeah, ok, yeah. You either take
- 1:33:38Speaker 4: a syllable off or you add to every hockey.
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: Player there is, yeah, Rick and Dallas. I was just
- 1:33:45Speaker 2: curious if any of you guys have heard any reason
- 1:33:47Speaker 2: why Dan or Alaski apparently hates Drake May. He trashed
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: him during the draft process, ranking him number six in
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: his list of qbs, has had nothing complimentary to say
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: about him all season, and is now actively campaigning against
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: him for MVP. I realize he's a commentator and it's
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: his job to say crazy things to attract views and clicks,
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: but it seems like he zeroed in on May. And
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: I can't figure out why did May pick on his
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: kid in high school, kidnap his puppy, toilet paper his house. Finally,
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: at what point do fellow members in the media begin
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: to hold him accountable. His football takes are consistently wrong,
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: and yet he keeps appearing on radio and TV. What
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: value does he bring? I honestly can't figure it out.
- 1:34:28Speaker 6: Is he who is no?
- 1:34:31Speaker 2: No, no, no no.
- 1:34:32Speaker 4: The email, I just would like it's a guy an example. Oh,
- 1:34:35Speaker 4: give me an example of what Erlotsky's football takes being wrong? Now,
- 1:34:39Speaker 4: I know the draft thing. That's the thing that got
- 1:34:40Speaker 4: under Evans Cain. Remember yeah, when when Rolaski was really
- 1:34:47Speaker 4: complimentary of Drake May's play in the middle of the year.
- 1:34:49Speaker 4: Do you remember how upset Evan got because Evan was
- 1:34:52Speaker 4: the only one allowed to complimenting Drake correct, He was
- 1:34:55Speaker 4: the only one allowed to take credit for understanding that
- 1:34:58Speaker 4: Drake was really talented, and he was mad at Orlowski
- 1:35:01Speaker 4: was saying a lot of nice things. So I would
- 1:35:04Speaker 4: be curious from the email, there is what aside from
- 1:35:07Speaker 4: the pre draft, which a lot of guys get that wrong.
- 1:35:10Speaker 4: Aside from the pre draft criticism of Drake May. Give
- 1:35:13Speaker 4: me an example, while as an example of saying that
- 1:35:16Speaker 4: Matthew Stafford should get the MVP and not Drake May,
- 1:35:19Speaker 4: is that's not bashing. That's not poor football. We disagree
- 1:35:24Speaker 4: with it. We all think Drake May should get the MVP.
- 1:35:26Speaker 4: We all talked about that yesterday, right, But I'm sorry,
- 1:35:29Speaker 4: it's not like laughable that a guy with forty two
- 1:35:33Speaker 4: touchdowns gets the MVP.
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: While we were on the show earlier, I saw Alaski
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: on TV, so maybe he just said something recently that
- 1:35:41Speaker 2: I you know, I don't know.
- 1:35:44Speaker 10: I did get tagged in something by a listener shout
- 1:35:47Speaker 10: out Nori nor Now I just get sent Dan Orlovsky
- 1:35:52Speaker 10: videos from people in hopes that I show Evan to
- 1:35:56Speaker 10: further rage bit Evan.
- 1:35:58Speaker 4: Because it's complimentary of Drake, right, That's all I've seen
- 1:36:01Speaker 4: is him showing how great Drake May has played over like,
- 1:36:04Speaker 4: especially like the second half of the season. He breaks
- 1:36:07Speaker 4: down this you know, and I don't like, and I
- 1:36:10Speaker 4: know watches more of that stuff. He breaks down the
- 1:36:13Speaker 4: tape in very slow, methodical fashion that I'm not really
- 1:36:17Speaker 4: all that interested in. But it's very complementary of Drake.
- 1:36:20Speaker 4: I mean, how could it not be the way he's
- 1:36:21Speaker 4: played right, right, I mean completing over seventy percent of
- 1:36:25Speaker 4: his passes and throwing the ball down the field as
- 1:36:27Speaker 4: often as he has.
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: Like, yeah, I so sometimes people the slightest little thing
- 1:36:34Speaker 2: you say good about somebody else, I think you don't
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: like the other guy. It was it was like the
- 1:36:39Speaker 2: whole back when Brady was still young and the whole
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: Brady Bledsoe debate, it was if you said anything good
- 1:36:47Speaker 2: about either one of them, it meant you hate the
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: other one. And that was not true.
- 1:36:50Speaker 4: Yeah, and that was even more exacerbated with Brill Brady debate.
- 1:36:55Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:36:55Speaker 4: You know, if you said that Peyton Manning had any
- 1:36:57Speaker 4: modicum of ability, you were taking a shot at Brady,
- 1:37:00Speaker 4: which no, Right, there could be two really good players.
- 1:37:03Speaker 4: If you think Brady's better, then fine.
- 1:37:06Speaker 9: We live in a polarized society, my friends.
- 1:37:09Speaker 4: Right, you know, I just think that the whole MVP
- 1:37:15Speaker 4: discussion has gotten silly because now it's what you're talking about, Fred,
- 1:37:21Speaker 4: it's Drake may is the MVP and Matthew Stafford stinks.
- 1:37:25Speaker 4: That's what it's become around here, Like, how could you
- 1:37:27Speaker 4: possibly pick Matthew Stafford?
- 1:37:31Speaker 2: Right, It's like it's like when Barth talks about Josh Allen.
- 1:37:34Speaker 4: It's no objectivity there, just none. I like to tease
- 1:37:37Speaker 4: Alex about that, which I'll I'll do in a couple hours.
- 1:37:40Speaker 4: I got to go in and yell at him for
- 1:37:41Speaker 4: a while.
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: Uh, Joe is in framing him. What's up, Joe?
- 1:37:47Speaker 4: Hey, guys, Hey, I.
- 1:37:51Speaker 27: Was just in response to that Danner Losky comment about
- 1:37:54Speaker 27: him being hating Drake May.
- 1:37:55Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:37:57Speaker 27: I think he's been one of the most supported him
- 1:38:01Speaker 27: the most off the year. He's all he's talked about
- 1:38:03Speaker 27: on first tape this year. So he was proven wrong
- 1:38:07Speaker 27: about how he should sit the first two years of
- 1:38:10Speaker 27: his career, and he's admitted that he's wrong, and he's
- 1:38:14Speaker 27: he had him as his MVP up until like three
- 1:38:17Speaker 27: weeks ago, and now this week when he's coming out
- 1:38:20Speaker 27: telling everyone he'll vote for Stafford, people are turning their
- 1:38:24Speaker 27: back on him. But I so far have enjoyed watching
- 1:38:27Speaker 27: his content all year because he's been so supportive of him.
- 1:38:31Speaker 4: So I don't know, I just so that's what I think.
- 1:38:33Speaker 6: That whole.
- 1:38:35Speaker 27: Narrative of Daniel. Look, he's been like a little out
- 1:38:37Speaker 27: of hand, and I think part of it that he
- 1:38:38Speaker 27: might vote for Stafford is maybe they were teammates a
- 1:38:42Speaker 27: while ago and maybe oh.
- 1:38:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean that could be here, that could be
- 1:38:46Speaker 4: his his you know, affinity for Stafford the person that
- 1:38:49Speaker 4: you might be right about that, but I think Joe
- 1:38:51Speaker 4: nailed it. That makes sense to me that recently Lasky
- 1:38:57Speaker 4: must have said that he's voting for Stafford or he
- 1:38:59Speaker 4: think staff which should be the m v P. And
- 1:39:01Speaker 4: that has somehow ruffled the feathers of people, which I
- 1:39:04Speaker 4: don't really get.
- 1:39:05Speaker 2: Look who's back from the locker room?
- 1:39:08Speaker 16: What was the mood where the players friendly.
- 1:39:10Speaker 2: To that none of them looked like Derek Henry, Hey, Mike,
- 1:39:14Speaker 2: what was it like in the locker.
- 1:39:17Speaker 6: Room fit out?
- 1:39:21Speaker 7: Hi everybody, I'm back. Sorry, it took me a little while.
- 1:39:23Speaker 7: There's a lot of people in that locker room today,
- 1:39:25Speaker 7: a lot of many people that you'mer, A lot of
- 1:39:28Speaker 7: very serious people in these guys.
- 1:39:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, serious people. We'll get to the bottom.
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: They wear suits, and the energy that they walk into
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: the locker room with is like we're here to get
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: to the bottom of it.
- 1:39:39Speaker 2: Like it's so serious.
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: But uh, just real quick.
- 1:39:43Speaker 7: Morgan Moses was asked a little bit about distractions and
- 1:39:45Speaker 7: all that, and you know the company line, we're focused
- 1:39:48Speaker 7: on Miami, you know, we support our guys. But I
- 1:39:51Speaker 7: thought the interesting thing was Will Campbell talked, and Will
- 1:39:53Speaker 7: Campbell was getting ready to go out to practice. A
- 1:39:55Speaker 7: couple of funny moments in there. Somebody was like, you know, what,
- 1:39:58Speaker 7: what was the feeling, Like, what did you think right
- 1:40:00Speaker 7: after you know what happened? You knew you were going
- 1:40:01Speaker 7: to be out And he was just like f he said.
- 1:40:05Speaker 7: And then while he was talking, did you say he
- 1:40:08Speaker 7: said the full word? He just goes, what was your thought?
- 1:40:09Speaker 7: You know when that happened?
- 1:40:10Speaker 11: He's like uh.
- 1:40:12Speaker 7: And then while he's talking, Morgan Moses like starts playing
- 1:40:14Speaker 7: this hype music and like starts.
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: From Louisiana State at six foot six, you know, like
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: hyping him up, so uh, good vibes. But otherwise getting
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: ready to go out to practice.
- 1:40:23Speaker 7: So nothing, nothing really major to report, other than there
- 1:40:26Speaker 7: were a lot of people there and then the players.
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: Weren't saying much.
- 1:40:28Speaker 7: Can I assume that no digs, no Nazi digs, no
- 1:40:31Speaker 7: Dan see Barmore at all.
- 1:40:33Speaker 2: No, No, that was not happening.
- 1:40:36Speaker 7: And I did see Jack Westover, who was the only
- 1:40:38Speaker 7: kind of injury concerned. I mean, he didn't seem uh
- 1:40:42Speaker 7: hurt at the moment. I don't know if he'll be
- 1:40:44Speaker 7: out here in practice in a minute, and I does
- 1:40:46Speaker 7: he's playing walk by with with no boot on. I
- 1:40:48Speaker 7: saw that kind of last week. I didn't check the
- 1:40:50Speaker 7: nearest locker. I know, even't said his boot was still
- 1:40:52Speaker 7: at the locker. But you know, that, to me is
- 1:40:54Speaker 7: one of the biggest head scratches of this whole season.
- 1:40:56Speaker 7: What's what's his deal? When's the status? When's he going
- 1:40:58Speaker 7: to be back?
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: And Evan Evan right in.
- 1:41:01Speaker 7: The middle, right in the middle of the sims, getting
- 1:41:03Speaker 7: right in there, right in the middle of the scrums.
- 1:41:04Speaker 7: He was right in front of Will, you know, and
- 1:41:07Speaker 7: asked him a little bit about like, you know, do
- 1:41:08Speaker 7: you feel like you're ready to go this weekend?
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: And Will was just like, it's up to the coaches
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: right now.
- 1:41:12Speaker 7: I'm just focused on getting out there and for thirty
- 1:41:14Speaker 7: minutes putting on my helmet and shoulder pads and you know, being.
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: Able to move and being back in a practice.
- 1:41:19Speaker 4: So very similar to Milton Williams last week.
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, no, I mean, yeah, I guess, I guess.
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: I guess he was a little bit more. I don't know,
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: we'll see, but yeah, it was the latest, latest and
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: greatest from the.
- 1:41:32Speaker 6: Well.
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: We got a hurry I'm sorry. I know at that
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: time of the week, all right, what are we?
- 1:41:43Speaker 19: How do we do?
- 1:41:44Speaker 2: Last week?
- 1:41:45Speaker 4: Not a great week, but everybody was pretty similar. But
- 1:41:49Speaker 4: there has to be one person at the top. That
- 1:41:51Speaker 4: was Paul. Let me tees himself up ten and six, uh, Mike,
- 1:41:58Speaker 4: Alex Evan and Fred nine and seven wow, okay with
- 1:42:05Speaker 4: the spread alex Evan, Paul and Fred eight seven and
- 1:42:13Speaker 4: one okay, and Mike six nine and one. So here
- 1:42:19Speaker 4: are the sitting, here's the standing people, bade me. The
- 1:42:23Speaker 4: tie at the top remains heading into week eighteen, Alex
- 1:42:28Speaker 4: and Fred one sixty five ninety and one, so well
- 1:42:33Speaker 4: behind the Boston Cream contest by the way, I think
- 1:42:35Speaker 4: the leader had like eighty one losses something for him
- 1:42:40Speaker 4: well behind. Paul is in third at one fifty nine
- 1:42:45Speaker 4: ninety six and one, Mike one fifty four one oh
- 1:42:48Speaker 4: one and one, and Evan one fifty three one oh
- 1:42:51Speaker 4: two in one. So you're holding off Evan for that
- 1:42:53Speaker 4: last but you don't want.
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: To finish last, and both don't want to do both, and.
- 1:42:57Speaker 4: It's pretty much mathematically over for the other one to spread.
- 1:43:00Speaker 4: Freddy Freddie Feels one thirty seven one point fifteen and
- 1:43:03Speaker 4: four Paul one thirty one, twenty two and four. So
- 1:43:07Speaker 4: I really cannot realistically catch Fred. That's too much to
- 1:43:10Speaker 4: pick up in one week. Evan one twenty seven, one
- 1:43:15Speaker 4: twenty five and four, Alex one twenty four, one, twenty
- 1:43:19Speaker 4: eight and four. I want everybody to pay attention to
- 1:43:22Speaker 4: this month, folks. Mike is one oh seven, one forty
- 1:43:28Speaker 4: five and four.
- 1:43:29Speaker 11: It's bad.
- 1:43:30Speaker 4: You have to try. You have a responsibility to be
- 1:43:33Speaker 4: that bet.
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: Just to give Paul, I don't know what it is.
- 1:43:35Speaker 2: Well, I just want to say, if anyone out there
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: has been putting their money where my mouth is, I'll
- 1:43:41Speaker 2: give you my venmo so I can get a taste,
- 1:43:44Speaker 2: just a little taste. Yeah, let's beak, just a little taste.
- 1:43:47Speaker 4: It just kind of what my beak.
- 1:43:48Speaker 7: But it's safe to say that I'm better at being
- 1:43:51Speaker 7: bad than Fred is good at being good.
- 1:43:55Speaker 2: Yeah, you're really bad, Yeah you know, and you're good
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: at it if.
- 1:43:59Speaker 3: You just if you just picked everything the opposite of
- 1:44:02Speaker 3: what Georgia I know.
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's hard to know what I'm actually going
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: to pick.
- 1:44:07Speaker 4: And this is gonna be this is going to be
- 1:44:11Speaker 4: a difficult week.
- 1:44:12Speaker 2: It is playing and blah, blah. And even if you
- 1:44:15Speaker 2: do know, you don't know what they're gonna be. You know,
- 1:44:17Speaker 2: it's it's a tough week. So we'll start with Saturday night.
- 1:44:21Speaker 2: There is no Thursday game this week, however, will we survive? Yes,
- 1:44:26Speaker 2: Carolina eight and eight at Tampa Bay seven.
- 1:44:28Speaker 4: And nine, So Tampa Bay is a two and a
- 1:44:31Speaker 4: half point favorite. If Tampa wins, they would then have
- 1:44:35Speaker 4: to wait to see what happens with Atlanta, and if
- 1:44:39Speaker 4: Atlanta wins, then Carolina would still go to the playoffs
- 1:44:41Speaker 4: at eight and nine. If Carolina wins, there the division
- 1:44:43Speaker 4: champ out right.
- 1:44:44Speaker 11: That's it.
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: And by the way, this game's on ESPN.
- 1:44:48Speaker 4: Yeah, Tampa by two.
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: The Patriots break the Buccaneers. I feel like that was
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: the last time I believe to buy.
- 1:44:54Speaker 2: He broke the by broke them.
- 1:44:55Speaker 7: Uh shoot, I'm going with my Panthers on the road,
- 1:44:59Speaker 7: taking the upset my Panthers.
- 1:45:01Speaker 2: It's a joke between me and Power.
- 1:45:03Speaker 4: Okay, Mike thinks they're good.
- 1:45:05Speaker 6: I do.
- 1:45:06Speaker 9: I just think they're I don't just respread, but they're frisky.
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: Ah, Okay, come on misleading the pack today.
- 1:45:17Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:45:20Speaker 4: I don't think much of you. The one of these teams,
- 1:45:22Speaker 4: but I will take Carolina too. I think they have
- 1:45:25Speaker 4: a chance to win and they're in and Tampa doesn't
- 1:45:27Speaker 4: have that. So I'm gonna go with the Panthers. I
- 1:45:30Speaker 4: am gonna go with the Panthers as well. So that's
- 1:45:33Speaker 4: the four to thirty game on Saturday night. There's an
- 1:45:36Speaker 4: eight o'clock game on Saturday night, also on ESPN. It's
- 1:45:39Speaker 4: Seattle thirteen and three at the forty nine Ers twelve
- 1:45:42Speaker 4: and four. This one's a big one, the winning one,
- 1:45:44Speaker 4: the winners the number one seed in the NFC. Strange
- 1:45:50Speaker 4: spread to me, Fred, I'll be interested to hear your thoughts.
- 1:45:54Speaker 4: Seattle on the road by one and a half. No,
- 1:45:58Speaker 4: I'm good with that, Okay, I'm good with that.
- 1:46:00Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm definitely tempted by Seattle, but I just I
- 1:46:04Speaker 7: don't trust Sam Donold in these big moments anymore.
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: I'm gonna go forty nine.
- 1:46:07Speaker 9: Ers Seattle, Seattle.
- 1:46:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna. I think that's a bad spread. I
- 1:46:16Speaker 4: think the Niners at home should be favored. I'll take
- 1:46:20Speaker 4: the Niners outright.
- 1:46:22Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with Seattle. You know, I haven't really
- 1:46:25Speaker 2: honestly paid a lot of attention to them. I know
- 1:46:27Speaker 2: they're playing really well, but I haven't. I don't think
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: I've watched one game that they play on the Pacific,
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: but they just keep racking them up. And I know
- 1:46:37Speaker 2: forty nine ers are really good and Perty's playing well,
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: really well, but I'm gonna go with Seattle's a good
- 1:46:44Speaker 2: tests against that defense. Yeah, all right, Now we move
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: to Sunday at one on Fox. It's New Orleans six
- 1:46:50Speaker 2: and ten at Atlanta seven and nine.
- 1:46:54Speaker 4: As I mentioned, this game could have some relevance in
- 1:46:58Speaker 4: the NFC South Race. The Falcons by three and a half.
- 1:47:03Speaker 7: Falcons by three and a half. Yeah, I like the
- 1:47:06Speaker 7: Falcons at home. I will take them and I will
- 1:47:08Speaker 7: lay the points.
- 1:47:10Speaker 9: Sure.
- 1:47:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Saints. I think that they've
- 1:47:17Speaker 4: played well down the stretch. I think Tyler Shuck is
- 1:47:20Speaker 4: shown a little something and the Falcons I think had
- 1:47:23Speaker 4: a flukey win against the Rams and that was their
- 1:47:25Speaker 4: super Bowl last week.
- 1:47:27Speaker 2: I am gonna go with the Falcons. My new favorite player,
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: Bijon Robinson.
- 1:47:33Speaker 4: Freddy just realized that Jon Robinson's.
- 1:47:36Speaker 2: Pretty pretty good, pretty good. So I'm gonna go with
- 1:47:39Speaker 2: the Falcons this week, not when we played them Sunday
- 1:47:42Speaker 2: at one, Cleveland four and twelve at Cincinnati six.
- 1:47:45Speaker 4: And ten, Cincinnati by seven and a half.
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: This is on CBS.
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: I don't feel great about this one. I'll take Cincinnati,
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: but I'll take the points for Cleveland.
- 1:47:55Speaker 9: I'm gonna do the same thing.
- 1:47:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna do the same thing too, only because
- 1:48:00Speaker 4: Cleveland seems to have Joe Burrow's number and I don't
- 1:48:05Speaker 4: like laying more than a touchdown in that scenario. I
- 1:48:07Speaker 4: think Cincinnati will win the game. I think they're playing
- 1:48:09Speaker 4: pretty well here in the last week or two. But
- 1:48:13Speaker 4: I'll take the I'll take the hook the sharps. Know
- 1:48:16Speaker 4: what you just said, Paul, And yes, they gave him
- 1:48:19Speaker 4: six and a half. So think about that seven and
- 1:48:21Speaker 4: a half, seven and a half. So think about that, folks.
- 1:48:24Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with Cincinnati. Joe Burrow needs to prove
- 1:48:27Speaker 4: that he's having fun.
- 1:48:29Speaker 2: Uh, and Cleveland had that big win last week and uh,
- 1:48:33Speaker 2: that was it for them, So I'll go. I'll go
- 1:48:35Speaker 2: with the Bengals, even though I hate them.
- 1:48:37Speaker 11: Okay.
- 1:48:37Speaker 2: Sunday at one CBS, Indianapolis eight and eight at Houston
- 1:48:42Speaker 2: eleven and five.
- 1:48:43Speaker 4: Okay, Houston by ten and a half.
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: It's a lot of points.
- 1:48:48Speaker 4: Is no Rivers. Rivers, it's Riley because they've been eliminated.
- 1:48:57Speaker 2: One of his kids has a birthday, he has to
- 1:49:00Speaker 2: did you happen.
- 1:49:00Speaker 4: To see that he had his team there and all
- 1:49:02Speaker 4: the game, which I thought was kind of cool.
- 1:49:04Speaker 2: That's cool.
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: I'll take Houston and all lay the points same.
- 1:49:12Speaker 4: So I'm going to take Houston to win the game.
- 1:49:15Speaker 4: I you know, now, I'm talk myself out of it.
- 1:49:19Speaker 4: I don't know what's going to happen in these games.
- 1:49:21Speaker 4: Who's going to play. I'm gonna take Houston both ways?
- 1:49:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, me just in both Houston both ways. Sunday
- 1:49:29Speaker 2: at one on Fox Tennessee three and thirteen at Jacksonville
- 1:49:33Speaker 2: twelve and four.
- 1:49:34Speaker 4: Okay, Jacksonville by twelve and a half. These two games
- 1:49:40Speaker 4: have sneaky interest for the Patriots, and I'm not going
- 1:49:43Speaker 4: to get into specifically, but I think there's some value
- 1:49:48Speaker 4: if you can keep Buffalo behind whoever the wild card
- 1:49:52Speaker 4: is out of the AFC CELT So, in other words,
- 1:49:54Speaker 4: if Jacksonville or Houston loses this game, they would finish
- 1:49:59Speaker 4: behind the Bill. The Bills will be the five. You
- 1:50:02Speaker 4: want the Bills to be the six? Because then if
- 1:50:04Speaker 4: the Bills end up winning that six three game, they
- 1:50:07Speaker 4: have to go to Denver, and that that I think
- 1:50:09Speaker 4: is better. Right, So you want no, you want them
- 1:50:14Speaker 4: both to win. Both to win, Okay, that would keep them,
- 1:50:17Speaker 4: that would keep Buffalo behind whoever the loser or the division.
- 1:50:20Speaker 7: Contact, Paul, I really appreciate that. I'm gonna make it
- 1:50:23Speaker 7: happen here. I'm gonna take jack Sainville. Shoot, that's a
- 1:50:27Speaker 7: lot of points, but I'm gonna lamb same.
- 1:50:29Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna lay the points to which is normally
- 1:50:31Speaker 4: not what I like to do in a division game.
- 1:50:33Speaker 4: But I think Jacksonville needs the win and they'll play
- 1:50:38Speaker 4: like it.
- 1:50:39Speaker 2: I think Jacksonville needs the win and they're gonna play hard,
- 1:50:42Speaker 2: but they're not you know, that team. So I will
- 1:50:46Speaker 2: take the points. Jacksonville wins, but Tennessee, you know, stays
- 1:50:51Speaker 2: with him for a little bit enough to beat the spread,
- 1:50:55Speaker 2: and your.
- 1:50:55Speaker 4: In your side. Cam Woods played pretty well, I think
- 1:50:58Speaker 4: you said, multiple touchdowns four straight games. Yeah, so he's
- 1:51:01Speaker 4: finishing the season on a high note.
- 1:51:04Speaker 2: Sunday at one on CBS Green Bay nine, six and
- 1:51:07Speaker 2: one at Minnesota eight and eight.
- 1:51:10Speaker 4: So this is one of those spreads. That tells you
- 1:51:12Speaker 4: that they know a little something. Minnesota by six and
- 1:51:14Speaker 4: a half, so I wouldn't expect to have a lot
- 1:51:17Speaker 4: of regular players for green Bay playing in this game.
- 1:51:20Speaker 7: Yeah, I'll take I'll take Minnesota, but I'm gonna take
- 1:51:23Speaker 7: the points for green Bay.
- 1:51:25Speaker 4: Can you can you tell me the status of Malik
- 1:51:28Speaker 4: willis anybody.
- 1:51:32Speaker 8: Like?
- 1:51:32Speaker 4: Are they gonna have to be having a third quarterback
- 1:51:34Speaker 4: play in this game? Because I wouldn't imagine they're gonna
- 1:51:37Speaker 4: rush Jordan Love back out there, right?
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: Two hours ago it said they just signed a quarterback.
- 1:51:43Speaker 9: No Man Vikings, Vikings.
- 1:51:48Speaker 4: Yeah, this is I hate these games. I'm gonna take
- 1:51:51Speaker 4: Minnesota both ways.
- 1:51:52Speaker 2: That's the pick, Paul, Minnesota both ways. It's in Minnesota.
- 1:51:57Speaker 2: Go with them. Sunday at one Fox Alis seven, eight
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: and one at the Giants three and thirteen.
- 1:52:04Speaker 4: Dallas by three and a half, three and a half.
- 1:52:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the Giants at home.
- 1:52:12Speaker 2: We know why they got rid of Digs.
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: A number of issues.
- 1:52:16Speaker 4: Because he stinks okay performance And just to lend some
- 1:52:20Speaker 4: contexts to that, do you know what his according to TFF?
- 1:52:24Speaker 4: You know what the passer rating he's allowed is this year.
- 1:52:28Speaker 11: I don't know. Point three.
- 1:52:30Speaker 2: Wow, that'd be perfect, that's perfect.
- 1:52:32Speaker 9: Yeah, Cowboys, Cowboys.
- 1:52:38Speaker 4: I am going to take the Giants, like Mike at home.
- 1:52:42Speaker 4: I don't think Dallas probably will have a whole lot
- 1:52:44Speaker 4: of interest in this game.
- 1:52:45Speaker 2: I'm going to take Dallas too. They're seven eight and one.
- 1:52:48Speaker 2: They don't want to finish with a losing record, so
- 1:52:50Speaker 2: I think that's something to play for.
- 1:52:52Speaker 4: That's not bad reasoning. That's why Freddie Fields is at
- 1:52:55Speaker 4: the top.
- 1:52:56Speaker 2: Sunday four twenty five on CBS, the Jets three and
- 1:52:59Speaker 2: third team against Buffalo eleven and five.
- 1:53:04Speaker 4: Yeah, this spread also shows me that people won't be
- 1:53:07Speaker 4: playing Buffalo by seven.
- 1:53:09Speaker 2: Oh oh, it would have been twenty if they were playing.
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that's easy. I'll take Buffalo by seven.
- 1:53:14Speaker 9: Same.
- 1:53:17Speaker 4: You guys are so confident, man, look.
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: At the results. Confidence just say it with conviction.
- 1:53:24Speaker 4: But think, I guess I'll lay. Yeah, I'll lay the seven.
- 1:53:27Speaker 4: I just I don't know who's going to play. Yeah,
- 1:53:29Speaker 4: that spread tells that would definitely have been a double
- 1:53:32Speaker 4: digit spread, right, Yeah, absolutely. I mean the Patriots were
- 1:53:35Speaker 4: a double digit spread on the road against the Jets. Yeah,
- 1:53:38Speaker 4: I'll take Buffalo both ways. Mitch Trubisky should be able to.
- 1:53:41Speaker 2: So here's the thing. Aaron Glenn had to walk it back,
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: but came out publicly after the AM has said it's
- 1:53:47Speaker 2: the first game that he really questioned his team effort.
- 1:53:49Speaker 2: I think this is not that this they can get
- 1:53:53Speaker 2: anything by winning this game, but I think that these
- 1:53:56Speaker 2: are men, they're professionals. I think there was a come
- 1:54:00Speaker 2: to Jesus probably going on. Jets win this game. I
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: hope you're right. I hope you're right outright.
- 1:54:06Speaker 4: That would set up the greatest theater ever Buffalo, New England.
- 1:54:10Speaker 4: That would be awesome.
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: The Jets win the theater. The Jets win this game.
- 1:54:15Speaker 2: It's not a lock.
- 1:54:17Speaker 6: I'm not.
- 1:54:17Speaker 2: I don't want you to run to the window with
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: my pick.
- 1:54:21Speaker 4: But man, I hope you're right because that would be
- 1:54:23Speaker 4: unbelievable theater.
- 1:54:24Speaker 2: Jets win the game. Sunday four on Fox Detroit eight
- 1:54:30Speaker 2: and eight at Chicago, eleven and five.
- 1:54:33Speaker 4: Chicago by three.
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: Interesting. Yeah, that's a good game. I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: take Chicago. Lay the points.
- 1:54:43Speaker 2: Detroit still has a like outside chance, right are they out?
- 1:54:46Speaker 9: Okay out Chicago?
- 1:54:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm going to take Chicago as well. I could
- 1:54:51Speaker 4: see Detroit playing hard in the game to try to
- 1:54:55Speaker 4: salvage whatever they can, but I think the Bears are
- 1:54:58Speaker 4: a little bit of better position to win this one.
- 1:55:02Speaker 2: The Bears win the game for on CBS, it's the
- 1:55:07Speaker 2: Chargers eleven and five at Denver thirteen and three, Denver
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: by twelve and a half.
- 1:55:16Speaker 1: Yees, that's a lot.
- 1:55:19Speaker 7: I'm gonna take Denver, but I'm gonna actually take the
- 1:55:21Speaker 7: points for the Chargers. I just think both teams kind
- 1:55:23Speaker 7: of take the foot off the gas once it's out,
- 1:55:25Speaker 7: and it won't be that.
- 1:55:25Speaker 11: Big of a spread.
- 1:55:26Speaker 9: Who's the Chargers backup quarterback?
- 1:55:30Speaker 2: Who was the first round pick? Don't forget that.
- 1:55:35Speaker 9: Denver to win. Maybe Chargers sneaky cover at the end.
- 1:55:42Speaker 2: Good, Alex Good.
- 1:55:44Speaker 4: I'm gonna take Denver both ways. I think that'll be
- 1:55:47Speaker 4: a tough defense for a backup quarterback to go against.
- 1:55:50Speaker 4: If it was Herbert playing, then be totally different. But
- 1:55:55Speaker 4: I think that it's unlikely that Herbert's the only front
- 1:55:58Speaker 4: line player for the Chargers that won't playing in this game.
- 1:56:01Speaker 4: I think he'll rest as many guys as he can.
- 1:56:05Speaker 2: I'm gonna take the points Denver wins, but I'm hoping
- 1:56:07Speaker 2: the Chargers put up a fight. Here got my Bonnicks,
- 1:56:12Speaker 2: Voodoo doll and Stickys in it. You know, we got
- 1:56:15Speaker 2: to get that one seed. You never know, but it's
- 1:56:18Speaker 2: in Denver, of course. I don't know how they get
- 1:56:22Speaker 2: away with it. I don't know how they do it.
- 1:56:25Speaker 7: I feel like if Patriots go to Denver this year
- 1:56:26Speaker 7: to play in the playoffs, you need to do like
- 1:56:28Speaker 7: a Fred video of just being frustrated.
- 1:56:30Speaker 2: Of well, of course we here, we are, here, we are.
- 1:56:33Speaker 2: Sunday four on Fox, Arizona three and thirteen at the
- 1:56:39Speaker 2: Rams eleven.
- 1:56:40Speaker 4: And five, Rams by seven and a half.
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: Yeah, give me the Rams.
- 1:56:47Speaker 9: Ms ROMs.
- 1:56:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:56:52Speaker 4: Rams haven't played very well on defense lately, but I'm
- 1:56:55Speaker 4: gonna take the Rams both ways.
- 1:56:57Speaker 2: Yep, Rams both ways. Sunday four, twenty five on CBS,
- 1:57:01Speaker 2: Kansas City six and ten at the Raiders two and four.
- 1:57:06Speaker 4: Tough game, Chiefs by five and a half.
- 1:57:13Speaker 1: That's a gross one right now.
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: The Raiders have the number one overall pick.
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: Yeah that's yeah.
- 1:57:19Speaker 2: Giants are number two.
- 1:57:21Speaker 7: Yeah, I think the Raiders want that number one pick.
- 1:57:22Speaker 7: I'm gonna I'm gonna take Kansas City.
- 1:57:25Speaker 4: Me too, Yeah, I'm gonna go down the way I
- 1:57:27Speaker 4: have the rest of the season, losing the Kansas City
- 1:57:30Speaker 4: game by picking the Chiefs Kansas City. No Max Crosby,
- 1:57:35Speaker 4: no Brock Bowers.
- 1:57:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna go with Kansas City as well. I
- 1:57:37Speaker 2: think the vague the Raiders really want that number one pick.
- 1:57:40Speaker 2: In Vegas, Sunday four twenty five on CBS, it's the
- 1:57:44Speaker 2: Commanders at four and twelve at the Eagles eleven and five.
- 1:57:48Speaker 4: Eagles by seven.
- 1:57:51Speaker 1: Sugar the Eagles.
- 1:57:58Speaker 10: The only thing tripping me up is that spread has
- 1:58:00Speaker 10: gone down. Eagles minus four and a half. Philly Philly.
- 1:58:08Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm going to take I'm going to take Philly
- 1:58:11Speaker 4: to win the game, but I will take the points.
- 1:58:13Speaker 4: I don't think very many guys are gonna be playing
- 1:58:15Speaker 4: for the Eagles either. That's one of one of the
- 1:58:17Speaker 4: games that I have no idea about it.
- 1:58:18Speaker 2: I will once again take the points. Philadelphia wins, but
- 1:58:21Speaker 2: the Commander's stay in it.
- 1:58:23Speaker 6: Now.
- 1:58:23Speaker 2: We skip over the Patriots at four twenty five, Sorry,
- 1:58:29Speaker 2: thank you, and we move to Sunday night, eight twenty
- 1:58:33Speaker 2: on NBC Peacock and Universo. It's Baltimore eight and eight
- 1:58:38Speaker 2: against Pittsburgh nine and seven. The battle for the AFC North.
- 1:58:42Speaker 4: Yeah, winners and loses out Baltimore by three and a half.
- 1:58:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll take Baltimore in this one, right, Derek Ride.
- 1:58:50Speaker 4: See, Yeah, these teams just so even, they play so
- 1:58:57Speaker 4: many even games. But I'll take Baltimore. I don't know
- 1:59:02Speaker 4: why because they lost the first game. I guess you know.
- 1:59:05Speaker 2: The thing about these games too is they're usually they
- 1:59:08Speaker 2: well they used to be. I don't know if they
- 1:59:09Speaker 2: still are, but slobber knockers. I mean, guys were just
- 1:59:11Speaker 2: beat the crap out of each other. I don't know
- 1:59:15Speaker 2: if that's still the case, particularly with Pittsburgh, but it's
- 1:59:19Speaker 2: a tough one. Gotta hurry. Pittsburgh can pull off a
- 1:59:24Speaker 2: win over Baltimore anytime. But I'm gonna go with Baltimore.
- 1:59:28Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with Baltimore. I think John Harbaugh needs
- 1:59:32Speaker 2: to coach for his career, you know, his job here,
- 1:59:37Speaker 2: so he'll be using Derek Henry throughout all. Right, Now,
- 1:59:41Speaker 2: we move back to Sunday at four twenty five on Fox.
- 1:59:44Speaker 2: It's My It's Miami seven and nine coming to the
- 1:59:48Speaker 2: thirteen and three New England Patriots.
- 1:59:51Speaker 4: Patriots by ten and a half.
- 1:59:54Speaker 1: Yeah, give me the Patriots.
- 1:59:55Speaker 7: I don't think it's a blowout lone last week, but
- 1:59:58Speaker 7: might not look like a blow I still think it's
- 2:00:00Speaker 7: kind of a blow up, and say twenty eight seventeen Patriots.
- 2:00:05Speaker 9: Pat's thirty four Dolphins twelve.
- 2:00:08Speaker 2: I like it twelve.
- 2:00:09Speaker 4: Yeah, I like the guys I have, thirty to seventeen.
- 2:00:14Speaker 4: I think it's reasonably competitive for a little while, maybe
- 2:00:18Speaker 4: the first half. I think Miami's played well down the stretch,
- 2:00:22Speaker 4: but not enough talent and especially I don't haven't seen
- 2:00:25Speaker 4: any injury stuff. If they don't have Wattle, and I
- 2:00:29Speaker 4: don't know what a Chan's going to do if you
- 2:00:31Speaker 4: take those guys out. This could be just like last week.
- 2:00:33Speaker 4: This could be just like last week, overmatched.
- 2:00:36Speaker 2: I have a lot of respect for a Chan. He's
- 2:00:38Speaker 2: probably one of the most well rounded offensive players in
- 2:00:41Speaker 2: the league. But that's about all that.
- 2:00:44Speaker 4: Amagon almost six yards of carries, yeah, five point seven yard.
- 2:00:47Speaker 2: It's about all they have. I'll take the Patriots thirty
- 2:00:50Speaker 2: three fourteen to win the game, thirty three to fourteen.
- 2:00:55Speaker 2: Of course, I was right on the nose last week
