- 0:00The most common is having an overloaded circuit.
- 0:05That's where you're plugging in too many devices on that circuit,
- 0:08where it's going to exceed the capacity.
- 0:10We've spoken before where we talked about 15 ampere acres versus 20 ampere acres
- 0:15versus 30s, and then you get into two poles, and that's a whole other topic.
- 0:19But if you are putting in a device, and a very common one, and the example I
- 0:24like to use a lot is talking about heaters.
- 0:26It could be a dryer or it could be a space heater that you use in the wintertime
- 0:31in your living room and, or, you know, heaters outside.
- 0:35But the most common is really is that living room heater. So people will come
- 0:39in and a lot of times in your living room, those are, those are typically 15
- 0:44amp circuits for the outlets.
- 0:45And you're using a device that can draw 20 amps.
- 0:48So that heat, now some of the newer ones don't draw as much,
- 0:51but majority of the, the, the heat will pull 20 amps. And that can melt that
- 0:56outlet and you don't want your outlet to melt.
