- 0:00Speaker 1: Our thanks to Viking, gustavsen Eyberg and Jake Richard for
- 0:03Speaker 1: joining us on the coach a show, and always thanks
- 0:05Speaker 1: to Colin Stewart for helping us out.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Says for the interviews. Good guys, you got a bunch
- 0:11Speaker 2: of good guys.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Though you guys do a good job in their on
- 0:14Speaker 1: the on the radio interviews.
- 0:16Speaker 3: You know, they get great tutoring from Colin Stewart, so
- 0:19Speaker 3: he teaches them all how to deal with the media.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Oh, they didn't go to the gino and and the
- 0:25Speaker 1: thing with Sarah Strong. Sarah is much better this year,
- 0:28Speaker 1: much better doing interviews this year. She was very very
- 0:31Speaker 1: short and succinct and to the point last year, but
- 0:36Speaker 1: she's a little better this year. Okay, you got a
- 0:37Speaker 1: good group of guys. Cam Hendrickson had some goalie time
- 0:42Speaker 1: against U mass little and played really well on Saturday.
- 0:45Speaker 1: But I guess we can talk about his development a
- 0:47Speaker 1: little bit here because he hasn't played a whole lot
- 0:49Speaker 1: this year.
- 0:49Speaker 3: No, but he's been getting better and we've been watching
- 0:52Speaker 3: him in practice and he was certainly a very you know,
- 0:57Speaker 3: sought after recruit. We were happy when we got him,
- 0:59Speaker 3: and I think he's just getting better and for sure,
- 1:03Speaker 3: I know, his best hockey's in front of him.
- 1:06Speaker 4: What uh, you know, obviously he is the heir apparent,
- 1:09Speaker 4: at least at this point for Tyler Muslik. So what
- 1:12Speaker 4: areas can he continue to improve upon?
- 1:14Speaker 3: I just think he's super athletic and sometimes he relies
- 1:20Speaker 3: on his athleticism to make saves, and I think being
- 1:23Speaker 3: more of an efficient goaltender. And he does a pretty
- 1:28Speaker 3: good job though controlling rebounds. He catches pucks really well.
- 1:33Speaker 3: So just those things. But that's probably a better question
- 1:37Speaker 3: for Alex Westling.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Mike, what about your defense your young defenseman Anthony Alan
- 1:43Speaker 1: Simaki Kai, their second Kais is in his second year,
- 1:47Speaker 1: Anthony's a freshman.
- 1:49Speaker 2: What about their development as are they going along? Yeah?
- 1:51Speaker 3: I think you know, Anthony and Brendan Dunfie, two freshmen defensemen,
- 1:55Speaker 3: are playing really well for us. Kai certainly Scott, you know,
- 2:01Speaker 3: or two sophomore defensemen, and we just got to keep improving,
- 2:07Speaker 3: you know, in all areas, I think. But they're doing
- 2:08Speaker 3: a great job defending, and Kai and Trey run two
- 2:13Speaker 3: power play units, and then you have Viking and Tom Masinio,
- 2:16Speaker 3: so we have a pretty good crew, you know, core
- 2:19Speaker 3: back there, and we just need to keep, as I said,
- 2:23Speaker 3: getting better.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Freshman Carter Sproul, I was his you know, slow absorption
- 2:29Speaker 4: into the program, been since coming in a couple.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Of weeks ago.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Yeah, it's tough, you know. The one thing that's been
- 2:33Speaker 3: so impressive is that, you know, our kids all know
- 2:37Speaker 3: the drills by name, and he doesn't. But he hasn't
- 2:41Speaker 3: screwed up one drill in three weeks and not knowing
- 2:45Speaker 3: any of them. And it's not like I'm explaining them
- 2:47Speaker 3: all to him. He just is smart enough to get
- 2:49Speaker 3: somewhere near the back of the line, watch the drill
- 2:52Speaker 3: and pick it up. But he's getting better and better too.
- 2:55Speaker 3: He had one of his best practices of the year today.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Choice the football game last night.
- 2:59Speaker 3: I did, I did.
- 3:00Speaker 2: That's a heck of a story, isn't it.
- 3:02Speaker 3: It's unbelievable. Yeah, But you know Miami too, the way
- 3:05Speaker 3: they've come back, you know, and brought that program back
- 3:08Speaker 3: to relevance. I thought, I thought it was a good game.
- 3:12Speaker 4: A little more money from Miami's side of things thrown
- 3:16Speaker 4: at players, and it feels like Indiana did it a
- 3:18Speaker 4: little more right.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Well, do we know that for sure? Mark? Mark Cuban
- 3:23Speaker 3: said that he's giving him a few ticulars.
- 3:26Speaker 2: So it's a good point, now, Mark Cuban, Now you're
- 3:29Speaker 2: not gonna get.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Yeah, no, but it's you know, being the losingest program
- 3:33Speaker 3: in college football history, and then you know two years later.
- 3:37Speaker 3: I mean they were what I read somewhere that they
- 3:39Speaker 3: went to four overtimes with Akron two years ago and
- 3:42Speaker 3: now they're national champions.
- 3:43Speaker 2: They were our first game at the Rent in two
- 3:45Speaker 2: thousand and three.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Really we won the game.
- 3:48Speaker 1: You cunt well, Terry Cawley ran wild at the Rent,
- 3:51Speaker 1: first game ever.
- 3:52Speaker 2: All Right, So this hope for us there is Yeah,
- 3:55Speaker 2: have you met the new coach yet? I have not.
- 3:56Speaker 3: I'm looking forward to it.
